- 0:12MBR talk. Hey, thanks for supporting our
- 0:15channel by watching and listening.
- 0:34It ain't happening. We hit the ball.
- 0:37I promise you one thing, we're going to hit somebody and we're
- 0:40taking downfield protective. I guarantee you that.
- 0:42Guarantee you that. Look at me.
- 0:48Let's go. Let's go.
- 1:06Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:10Welcome to the final time out here on Military Broadcast
- 1:14Radio. Busy week of sports.
- 1:18To recap, we've got playoffs starting in the WNBA and MLB.
- 1:25Opening day for the MLB playoffs was yesterday.
- 1:27Actually, we've already got somebody advancing the round two
- 1:31in the WNBA and we've got a lot of chaos in the college football
- 1:37world. We've got plenty of NFL action.
- 1:41To recap my Broncos one, what might have been a controversial
- 1:45game on Sunday Night Football, but they got the victory
- 1:48nonetheless. So we're going to just jump
- 1:51right into all of that. I want to start with the MLB
- 1:56playoffs opened yesterday, four games going on.
- 2:03We had a couple of blowouts to be honest, and we're going to
- 2:05start with the Padres 8 nothing victory over the Chicago Cubs.
- 2:13Fantastic outing by Michael King.
- 2:16Pitching in this one. Only gave up one hit through 7
- 2:21innings pitched. Took a no hitter into the 7th.
- 2:24Man, he was fantastic in this. 18 KS as well really set the
- 2:33tone. I mean his first 3 pitches he
- 2:35struck out PCA and then Fernando Tatis with a lead off home run
- 2:44to just get it going. I mean they Padres jumped on
- 2:48them from the get go and just set the tone the whole game.
- 2:51And Chicago was you know that they were struggling to keep
- 2:56their head above water the whole game.
- 2:59I believe that Tatis junior home run was the first lead off Homer
- 3:04in Padres playoff history, so you know, said Manny Pachata.
- 3:10Machado rather Homer than the first ending added an RBI double
- 3:15in the third. Just an emphatic win.
- 3:20Absolutely dominated Chicago and this was probably the worst
- 3:27match up the Cubs could get in the first round because talking
- 3:31about a team that's really well versed to go up against the red
- 3:38hot bats of the Chicago Cubs. It's a team like the Padres that
- 3:41has a very great pitching staff. We saw this in game one.
- 3:45Michael King. I mean, just again, cannot be
- 3:49overstated how fantastic he was in this one.
- 3:53But the Masusi and Musgrove coming in to closeout the final
- 3:56two innings also fantastic, only giving up three hits as a team
- 4:05in this entire game, 11 strikeouts, zero runs.
- 4:14So I don't know this is going to be a tough this is going to be a
- 4:18tough one for the Cubs. I didn't I didn't like this
- 4:21match up for them on paper. They don't have the best
- 4:25pitching staff in general and a team like San Diego, that's
- 4:31really where their strength is. And so their their only hope is
- 4:38that maybe a San Diego just isn't as hot batting the next
- 4:45game. Because as when they just
- 4:47started racking up the runs, you know, once it got to like 4,
- 4:52nothing in the fourth, I was like, this is they could really
- 4:57be in trouble because they, you know, they might they they have
- 5:02a chance in the game where it's like, you know, the Padres only
- 5:06get two or three runs and that they can probably find a way to
- 5:08eke out three or four, you know, But once it got the four, I was
- 5:13like, oh, this is real, this is bad.
- 5:15Then they gave up three more in the bottom of the fifth.
- 5:20And at that point, you knew it was just on 4.
- 5:24So another game coming up in San Diego, Petco Park was was
- 5:30popping off. The fans were having a great
- 5:33time and the Cubs gave them a lot to cheer about there.
- 5:39They had they didn't have a lot of hope against the Padres in
- 5:42this one. I don't know if Chicago gets one
- 5:46in this series. I'm not going to lie.
- 5:48I think that after the way this game started, I think this is
- 5:56this is all San Diego. So unfortunate for The Who will
- 6:01probably be probably the NLNVPPCA are great Cubs offense,
- 6:07but they just they got a really rough match up for the round one
- 6:11and maybe if this series was longer than three games they
- 6:16could figure something out and get this going.
- 6:19But I think I think San Diego is probably going to sweep them
- 6:23close this out. We will see tonight.
- 6:29I believe they're playing at 8:00 PM on Peacock.
- 6:37We've got and that Mitch up, Nick Pavita pitching tonight,
- 6:432.86 ERA on the season, 42 KS, three and two on the year.
- 6:54So got another, another solid pitcher for this Padres team.
- 7:03That's the probable pitcher for that.
- 7:04And then we've got Kevin Gosman pitching tonight, most likely
- 7:11for Chicago. The husband's had some nice
- 7:18moments in the season, but he's also, you know, about 4 1/2 ERA
- 7:26he's had. He's had his struggles, too.
- 7:28So guy from Centennial Co, actually, fun fact, that's yeah,
- 7:36he might get, if he has one of his better games, he might give
- 7:39the Cubs a shot. But I think I'm going to still
- 7:41go with the Padres tonight, another blowout that we had
- 7:45yesterday, the Yankees hammering the Red Sox nine runs.
- 7:51They actually Aaron Judge lied. He wasn't good to go for this
- 7:55series and did end up sitting out.
- 7:58But they didn't need them as Ben Rice really stepped up to the
- 8:04well to the he literally stepped up to the plate because that's
- 8:09his job. But he was rose to the occasion
- 8:13and really elevated this year. He's offense, two home runs, he
- 8:17hit the Grand Slam in the 8th innings are really just put this
- 8:23thing away for New York. Cam Schlittler, the front
- 8:30runner, one of the front runners for the AL Cy Young Award.
- 8:36How with his league leading 1.5 ERA, struck out 10 and walked
- 8:42one and 6 1/2 innings only gave up two hits while throwing 117
- 8:48pitches. Strong performance there yeah as
- 8:57long with along with the the Grand Slam, Rice also had two
- 9:00additional RE is batted in. So doing all of this without
- 9:06their star slugger Aaron Judge was really impressive to see out
- 9:11of the Yankees got to give Austin Wells the number 9 bother
- 9:17also with two RB is in this one and George Lombard junior making
- 9:24his post season debut getting three hits in this one.
- 9:29So that's how this thing extra for Red Sox.
- 9:32I mean, this is your your better rival, but what makes it even
- 9:35worse, Rice and Schlutler were both raised Red Sox fans that
- 9:38grew up in the Massachusetts area, and the Yankees plucked
- 9:42them out out of the New England area in the back in the baseball
- 9:48amateur draft. And now they're out here in the
- 9:50postseason terrorizing your team.
- 9:57I just yeah, a team that's had some great moments hitting, but
- 10:04it was really really just a struggle for them in this one,
- 10:10you know, Contreras O4, Ruchman O4 on at Bats and actually
- 10:18Ruchman did get one of the hits, but Monster Stereo, Rafaela
- 10:27Duran, just all those guys unable to make any contact.
- 10:34We'll see if they can. I don't I don't expect the IT to
- 10:38be as much of A blow out in the next one.
- 10:40I do think that this is you know, this is a Yankee scene
- 10:48that's not going to kill you with their pitching every game,
- 10:51but surely was just fantastic. He was definitely the guy to
- 10:55start get this series started off.
- 10:59But I don't expect the red the the Red Sox to be as cold
- 11:05batting today. Looking ahead at this game, Max
- 11:10Freed your projected pitcher for the Yankees 2.8 ERA, 104 KS.
- 11:21So still opening with Walnut. They're going to have a, you
- 11:27know, arguably their second or third best pitcher out there to
- 11:32try to close this thing out and get the victory.
- 11:36On the flip side, you have Sonny Gray pitching for the Red Sox.
- 11:44He's been really good this season, Top 10 ERA in the
- 11:47league, 2.72. He's done a lot of pitching for
- 11:52them this year. He's actually 8, 18 and five and
- 11:55wins got 149 KS. So I think he gives the Red Sox,
- 12:02but you know, he's probably going to give them a better
- 12:05chance. I don't think nine runs is going
- 12:07to be on the table here. This could still we could still
- 12:12see some runs definitely getting put up, but I think Red Sox and
- 12:15probably pull this out like 5 to 4 and keep this Force One more
- 12:20game in this series and try to move on to the next round.
- 12:27All right, our next match up we have the White Sox taking on the
- 12:31Astros. The White Sox getting a blessing
- 12:34from Pope Leo himself before the game, a letter of support from
- 12:40him and they they showed out for the Pope with a six to three
- 12:45victory over the Ashes. You have Colson Montgomery
- 12:50getting a solo Homer, Sam Antonacci drove in two runs,
- 12:56help him get to a six to three victory in this one.
- 13:03And yeah, the Astros, I mean, they looked like a team that did
- 13:07just barely eek into the postseason.
- 13:11They I'll say after getting in the hole 5 to nothing, they did
- 13:20answer with two big runs and the bottom of the fifth and
- 13:28certainly looked like that They were they might have been in
- 13:30position to start the comeback there in the eighth, but the the
- 13:38closer came in for the White Sox pitched the great final.
- 13:43You know, few innings. That was Taylor five KS in that
- 13:48only gave up two hits and one run in that that span walked one
- 13:52batter as well, but really came in there and closed out the game
- 13:56nicely for the White Sox. I would imagine they're probably
- 14:01when this when Game 2. The Astros were like the first
- 14:05team to really get into the postseason without a winning
- 14:09record and I don't think they're going to go far our pitching
- 14:14match up for Houston. They're going to have Hunter
- 14:19Brown who is boasted boasted 3.19 ERA on this season.
- 14:30So I've not my favorite option there for the the White Sox or
- 14:36for the the Astros. And then Sean Burke is with our
- 14:40who are probable pitcher tonight is going to be for the White Sox
- 14:433.34 ERA. We'll probably see some more
- 14:48runs in this one. Neither team's very this is
- 14:52going to blow you away with their pitching.
- 14:55But Chicago, the White Sox just have the Betty bats.
- 14:59I think they'll close this out tonight like 7 to 4, seven to
- 15:06three. White Sox will get the win all
- 15:12right and then final game of the series or final game that went
- 15:16on yesterday. It was actually the first game,
- 15:18but I wanted to save it for last because my opinion it was the
- 15:21most entertaining. Doesn't get a lot better than
- 15:25this. It was a bit of a, it was a come
- 15:27from behind victory. You had Chris Sale pitching and
- 15:32this one and while he was over, he kind of struggled in this
- 15:37one. Gave up three runs, still had
- 15:41the 9 KS and this one, but it wasn't his best showing in six
- 15:46innings. They ended up pulling him.
- 15:49David Lee came in, got credited with the save, and Razael
- 15:56Iglesias ended up closing this one out for the the Braves.
- 16:01But they came away. They got that victory and what
- 16:06was really impressive is they got it off of Johan Duran, the
- 16:10All Star closer for the Phillies.
- 16:15But going into the bottom of the eighth, at this point, it's
- 16:22trailing 3 to 2. They had Matt Olson.
- 16:29He got out on a pretty crazy. He had just an absolute heater
- 16:35straight towards the pitcher again and Duran just caught it
- 16:39in his glove. And pretty quickly in this, the
- 16:45Braves had, you know, they were down to their their last out,
- 16:50but Michael Harris was able to get on base with a single.
- 16:56And then Ozzy Oblis got hit with a pitch.
- 17:00So, you know, all of a sudden you, you know, you're you're up
- 17:03to two outs. You you got two guys on base.
- 17:06Austin Riley comes up and blasts one right over the right center
- 17:12field wall for a three run shot to help kind of pull off this
- 17:18comeback. And then some fantastic
- 17:21defensive plays like right at the start of the 9th inning to
- 17:24get a double play off of your off of the second man up.
- 17:33That or the second batter for the Phillies, get the make the
- 17:38play out second, get the throw in time, the first bang, bang
- 17:43and immediately put all that pressure on the final guy coming
- 17:48up. It was an impressive rally,
- 17:51especially when you're, you know, your All Star side,
- 17:54multiple Cy Young winning pitcher kind of struggles in
- 17:56this one. You know, they went to their
- 18:00their their batting over there. And that's where this team is
- 18:02dangerous. It's, you know, it's not just a
- 18:07Cunha junior, you've got owls and Drake Baldwin, Austin Riley,
- 18:11all these guys, you know, even guys like Alby's Harris do a
- 18:17great job of getting on the base.
- 18:21And then you know, there's, there's just a number of guys,
- 18:25doesn't matter how good they are, they if, if this, if it's
- 18:27close, they can, they can get a big shot and, and completely
- 18:30flip it. So now that sales pitch though,
- 18:34that'll be what's interesting for the rest of this match up.
- 18:38I'm not a huge fan of the depth behind Sale.
- 18:42We'll see the next game, you know what, does it turn into a
- 18:47bullpen game? What are we going to see here?
- 18:49Up next, likely pitching tonight for the Braves is Mihail.
- 18:56He's basically at a 4 ERA this season, 3.99 solid.
- 19:04But again, it's after Chris Sale.
- 19:08You're like you kind of have Chris Sale and a dream.
- 19:15And I'm pitching for the Phillies tonight.
- 19:20They're going with Christopher Sanchez, who's been really good
- 19:23this season. 2.91 ERA, 231 strikeouts.
- 19:31I think the Phillies can probably even the series up
- 19:34tonight or actually in a few hours.
- 19:37They this game starts at 12 on NBC.
- 19:42It's the early one. I wouldn't be surprised if the
- 19:45the Phillies do even this up though.
- 19:48I think tonight they've got, I like the starting pitcher a lot
- 19:54more and you know, I think Sanchez can go pretty deep into
- 20:02this one. What has been a little bit of an
- 20:04issue for Phillies, for the Phillies down the stretches they
- 20:08they kind of slumped going into the post season is once they
- 20:11once they get to the relievers, that's when they the game can
- 20:16start to get away from them. So Sanchez is the guy I think we
- 20:19could see, you know, 7 or 8 innings just to try try to keep
- 20:25these the Braves from getting hot.
- 20:27So. That'll be the that'll be The
- 20:30thing is Atlanta. Can you not give up too many
- 20:32runs and then when it when it gets time for those relievers to
- 20:38come in, are you going to be able to capitalize?
- 20:42So I do think Philly Philly's closed it out still though, or
- 20:48or hold on to win. All right, well, that's going to
- 20:51do it for the MLB recap. Day one was pretty entertaining.
- 21:00We had some some vintage moments and performances.
- 21:02Can't wait to see what Day 2 holds tonight.
- 21:05We're going to go ahead and do a quick like 3045 second break and
- 21:11when we come back, we're going to jump right in to the WNBA
- 21:16playoffs and recap what we've got going on and grab one.
- 21:19Like I said, we've already got a team who's clinched their ticket
- 21:23to the quarterfinals. Stay tuned.
- 21:26We got that coming up on the final time out.
- 21:28Let our veterans. Voices be.
- 21:32Heard. Wondering.
- 21:34What MBR does? We give veterans, first

- 22:01I learned how to use this video capture card so we can talk to
- 22:04veterans like our guest today about the navigation of their.
- 22:07I only knew how to draw flies before MBR.
- 22:10Now I know how to create design cartoons with my words and now I
- 22:13have. My name is Quacker.
- 22:15Before I knew nothing on 3D printing.
- 22:17Now look at me, I'm making and key chains for my family.
- 22:28All right, back, final time out military broadcast radio.
- 22:34I'm giving to you it will waste no time.
- 22:37The WNBA playoffs, they started on Sunday.
- 22:46So yeah, he might have missed it.
- 22:48There was a lot of football going on as well.
- 22:50But we did start on Sunday and the game that really surprised
- 22:55me, you know, the Liberty, I don't think it was outside the
- 23:01realm of possibility for them to beat the Lynx, but they beat a
- 23:0691 to 75 on their own court. Something I mentioned, though,
- 23:10the Lynx had kind of struggled at home this season for whatever
- 23:16reason. They were much better on the
- 23:17road. I mean, it wasn't like a huge
- 23:19margin, but, you know, 18 and 4 to 15 and 7, you know, home
- 23:27versus away or away versus home, rather.
- 23:31And then this one, yeah, they're stars.
- 23:34Just everybody shot pretty porously.
- 23:38I mean, besides NIA Brody off of the bench, it was, you know, six
- 23:43to seven, knocked down 5 threes with her 16 points.
- 23:48I mean, all their starters were rather inefficient.
- 23:51Natasha Howard didn't take too many shots 3:00 to 5:00.
- 23:54But yeah, Williams, Olivia Miles, Kayla McBride, the FISA
- 23:59Collier, just none of them could really get into a rhythm.
- 24:06Nobody, I mean, Brody was your top scorer off the bench with 16
- 24:11points in this one. Like they just looked it was
- 24:16really sloppy. They didn't look at all
- 24:19consistent like the the team we had been been seeing all year.
- 24:25You know, Olivia Miles, definitely you you could see the
- 24:30nerves there. It's you have her first post
- 24:32season, the lights pretty bright, 4 turnovers trying to
- 24:39and I think that ultimately this is what really killed him is
- 24:42only one assist from her. Like the assist, the turnover
- 24:45ratio is bad and that that's when this offense starts to
- 24:48struggle. She's really the only like true
- 24:51point guard that they have and she didn't play her best.
- 24:56And then on the flip side, I mean, got to give the Liberty
- 24:58credit, they were sending a lot of pressure her way, disrupting
- 25:03the the half court offense. We got some big, big time clutch
- 25:10shots from deep from Sabrina Ionescu.
- 25:12And then Brianna Stewart. I mean, she's just, it's just
- 25:19she's an ageless 1. They're still doing it at such a
- 25:22high level at age 32, rising to the moment, 34 points from her
- 25:32in this one and that was on 11 of 18 shooting knocked down two
- 25:37of her three threes and this one it's just stuff in the stat
- 25:41sheet. She went 11:50 at the line, 12
- 25:45rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks.
- 25:48It her two way impact cannot be overstated.
- 25:52You just could. They had no, they had no answers
- 25:55for her. I mean, you like even at the
- 25:58point where you can't really leave her, she's she's knocking
- 26:02down 3 so you can't even really leave her or leather chute.
- 26:05And then you try to close out and then she just drives to the
- 26:09basket on you and is either getting to the line or making
- 26:14that shot. The steals the blocks on the
- 26:18defensive side. She just made that whole she was
- 26:22given. Minnesota fits in this one.
- 26:26There's just no other way to put it.
- 26:29One of the best players in the league and yeah, put her stamp
- 26:34on this game. Now, they actually did play Game
- 26:372 yesterday. And how the Game 2GO did the
- 26:41Lynx manage to survive? They didn't.
- 26:46This is pretty shocking to me. I you know, New York's a good
- 26:52team and they've got some great veteran players, but I just
- 26:55thought with House consistent Minnesota, I've been all year
- 27:00that they would be moving on. But they got dominated both
- 27:04games and they lose this 187 to 71 here and that was on the road
- 27:15in New York again, like I think that this was a bigger weakness
- 27:24than I initially thought was Olivia Miles making her first
- 27:28post season debut. She it was it was tough.
- 27:31One of eight five points. She only ended up playing 17
- 27:36minutes that they they had to not pull her out.
- 27:38And I just didn't really the depth I thought Minnesota had.
- 27:42It never really showed. I mean NIA Brody was good and
- 27:46and another 24 minutes she ended up really taking over for Olivia
- 27:50for a lot of that game. But again, you just had not a
- 27:54lot of points from anybody. Nobody scored 20.
- 27:59They just couldn't keep pace with the Liberty, whose offense
- 28:02was humming on all cylinders. Brianna Stewart, you know, it
- 28:11feels like she kind of came back down the earth cuz these were
- 28:14like, these are still great numbers.
- 28:16She wasn't as efficient in this one, only 6 and 16, but still
- 28:2021, five and four, two steals, 2 blocks.
- 28:25I and Escu knocked down 4, four more big threes.
- 28:28She scored 18. But it was like Jonquil Jones,
- 28:31who was a little quieter in the first game.
- 28:35She really made her her impact felt in this 121 points, 13
- 28:40boards. They just, I mean, they really
- 28:43had no answer for her up there in the post.
- 28:47She was kind of getting whatever she wanted.
- 28:50And yeah, I'd like Minnesota just looked for a team that's so
- 28:57well coached and so disciplined. They just looked lost and
- 29:00uncomfortable out there. It's kind of uncharacteristic.
- 29:09Like I you, I could see like it was, it wouldn't have shocked
- 29:13me. It's not like a surprise that
- 29:16the Liberty one, I mean, you've got it's a good veteran core
- 29:21here with a ton of a playoff experience.
- 29:25So, you know, they they're, they've been in these moments
- 29:28before and they're they're ready for them.
- 29:31But just in the manner that they won, it was pure domination.
- 29:37I mean, this, this series was never really that close.
- 29:41It was all, it was all the Liberty and they.
- 29:45Yeah, and an insane, insane dominant performance out of
- 29:53them. And I think that makes them even
- 29:56more dangerous because like now they've got some momentum,
- 29:59they're feeling themselves. This is a, this is a really
- 30:03dangerous team that when they have a lot of confidence in
- 30:07themselves. So not going to be an easy out
- 30:10for whoever advances to to play them.
- 30:20And little side note on that. Actually it was the little fun
- 30:26fact that was the first time in WNBA history that A8 seed had
- 30:38beaten A1 seed first time in WNBA history.
- 30:46So yeah, whoever the comes out of that Dream and Mystic series
- 30:54is going to be in for a in for a battle against the Liberty.
- 31:00That is going to be 1 tough series to win.
- 31:11Speaking of the Dream and Liberty, why don't we go ahead
- 31:15and pop into that that game one, see what happened there.
- 31:21I'm also going to just share the playoff bracket for everyone so
- 31:25you can see what we're what's coming up.
- 31:30But the dream and Mystics, well, game one was all Atlanta.
- 31:37And this isn't too much of a surprise to me because Atlanta's
- 31:44just the more more experienced team.
- 31:48Mystics are very young. They're they're I don't know if
- 31:52they're like quite there yet. They got signing Citron, who was
- 31:58fantastic in this 125 points for her.
- 32:03I think Shakira, Austin, Kiki, Arafin, both posting double,
- 32:07double s Overall we're pretty impactful players.
- 32:13But the big thing it was just the turnovers really kill them
- 32:19and made it that made it difficult for them to really
- 32:23thrive in what they were good at all year, which they one of the
- 32:27best defenses in the league, but they created.
- 32:30You just have way too good of a of guard talent to be giving
- 32:35them all of these turnovers, fast break opportunities.
- 32:40I mean, Jordan Canada just absolutely picked them apart
- 32:44with 10 assists. And this one, she only had 10
- 32:47points, but she was just killing them playmaking in this one.
- 32:51And it's just all the steals. I mean, Ryan Howard, she's too
- 32:56crafty. You just you got to be careful
- 32:59with the ball. She 5 steals in this one.
- 33:03She blocked the shot. She scored 26 points.
- 33:06She went 9:50 up the line. You just well, that Wiley that
- 33:12just I mean, taking a lot of these young Junkins to to
- 33:18school. She she was having her way out
- 33:22there. Yeah, the Angel good game in the
- 33:26the front court. Double double for her 13 and 12.
- 33:32Also two steals in the block overall.
- 33:34I mean, the the hands of the dream when you have just so many
- 33:38crafty guards like they do, you're going to come away with
- 33:4216 steals. You're going to end up for, you
- 33:44know, forcing 22 turnovers like they got they they really knew
- 33:53what they had to do because it's a bigger team here with the
- 33:56Mystics. I mean, they got killed on the
- 33:58glass. A50 Washington had 50 rebounds.
- 34:02And, you know, they knew they were going to have to create
- 34:05some takeaways. They were going to have to
- 34:08spread this defense out, make him get out and run.
- 34:12And they did that to a highly successful rate.
- 34:17And I think, man, what could be the secret weapon for the dream
- 34:21Dewana, Bonnie, that was a great buy out for them.
- 34:25Having a veteran like her who's been on some deep playoff runs
- 34:30before as like your sixth woman coming off the bench, I mean she
- 34:34was fantastic and this 113 points, 2 steals, a blocked
- 34:40shots really made some some big buckets for them when they
- 34:46needed it. So what's what the dream can
- 34:51improve on? I mean they're going to have the
- 34:53rebounding. Obviously they don't want you
- 34:56then you're not going to win too many games when you get out out
- 34:59rebounded that badly. But you know, you can't rely on
- 35:04every opponent to have 22 turnovers.
- 35:08And then I think their three-point shooting wasn't that
- 35:12good. They've been, you know, wasn't
- 35:15quite to their their standard. I would say it's something that
- 35:26they'll want to excuse me, they're going to want to have to
- 35:31they're going to want to prove on they weren't a particular
- 35:37like a super successful 3 point shooting team.
- 35:40That's not something that they they sell at, but I think we're
- 35:44going to need to hit a little more than 5 to win future
- 35:50matchups. But yeah, I think that they've
- 35:54just they've got the number of the Mystics.
- 35:56I would imagine that they probably close out the sweep
- 35:59here. There's just too, too good.
- 36:04I didn't even mention how Alicia Gray played, but she scored 22
- 36:07points in this one as well, so I'm going to give Atlanta the
- 36:16close out in this one here. Moving on to our next matchup, I
- 36:24will talk about the Wings and the Valkyrie because wow, did
- 36:30Golden State dominate Dallas A one O 4 to 80 trouncing?
- 36:40Absolutely. They shut down Jessica Shepherd.
- 36:42She had zero points, was O of seven.
- 36:49And then, you know, reek 2O7 Maddie Zagar E four of nine.
- 36:59It was everyone besides pagebackers in this Dallas Wings
- 37:04starting five really struggle. The Page was 9 to 10.
- 37:08She scored 21 points. But I mean, they forced the ball
- 37:11out of her hands a lot. They just like didn't give up a
- 37:16lot of opportunities to shoot. She wasn't really able to play
- 37:22make that well. They were blitzing her, sending
- 37:24those double s. I mean, they did not want her.
- 37:29They didn't give her any room to really operate in the mid range.
- 37:36It was a clinic defensively and they they dared a lot of other
- 37:42players to shoot the way. Even then, like the way they
- 37:46rotate, like yeah, you're sending the double, you're
- 37:48sending the help defense over the page.
- 37:51But they would rotate and it's like even though it's a more
- 37:54open shot, it's not like, you know, it's not wide open.
- 37:58There's still some pressure there.
- 38:00I just just a special defensive performance leading scorer in
- 38:06this one. Cecilia Zander Lassini with 22
- 38:10points, fantastic out of her, and Gabby Williams both getting
- 38:17over 20. Tiffany Hayes off the bench.
- 38:20I mean, you just were seeing the depth they were, I mean, they
- 38:25were rotating through a lot of different players.
- 38:27Nobody played more than 27 minutes.
- 38:30So I was impressed. Just like, I mean, you're just
- 38:33keeping that your defense fresh. And I mean, you, you can see
- 38:38that with how like as the game goes on, like the wings are
- 38:43getting, they're just getting more and more tired and Golden
- 38:49State just looks like they're they're not running out of
- 38:51energy. But I have left out the most
- 38:55important thing, which is just the absolute one sided second
- 39:02quarter that really put this thing away.
- 39:07Golden State outscored Dallas 37 to 11 in the second quarter.
- 39:16It was 21 to 20 at the end of the first.
- 39:19And you thought, OK, we might have a good game on their hand
- 39:21and then a disastrous, I mean, out of control second quarter
- 39:28for the Wings. You could, I mean, they could
- 39:33not buy a bucket in that frame. And you can't, you just can't
- 39:40get that far down on a team like Golden State.
- 39:43You're just not going to come back.
- 39:44Their defense is too good. You're going to have like,
- 39:49you're going to have to keep it close.
- 39:52If you, you let them, if you let their, their offense get going,
- 39:56you let them put up a big lead like they did, you're just not
- 40:00coming back. And we saw that to the tune of a
- 40:0324 point blowout. Dallas, I, you know, it's a fun
- 40:08team. I'm a big fan of Paige.
- 40:09She's awesome to watch. But this is, I really think
- 40:15Golden State's got a good chance to win this.
- 40:17I mean, they've got the blueprint to when you can play
- 40:20defense the way they do. And you've got the blueprint for
- 40:24success. And I mean, we saw why.
- 40:28One thing was like they were a very explosive team offensively.
- 40:32They didn't score a lot. We just saw a lot of ladies just
- 40:37step up and score a lot more than they have.
- 40:42And just this offense looked, that's what looks really scary
- 40:47is their offense looked really good as well.
- 40:52And that they I mean, they might they could blow through.
- 40:56They'll blow through some opponents if they can score the
- 40:59way they're scoring and continue to play this elite, high level
- 41:03defense that they've been doing all season long.
- 41:07So just absolutely demolished them.
- 41:14We'll see if we'll see if the Mystics, we'll see if the Wings
- 41:17can get back on track tonight. Both those games will be on
- 41:23ESPN. Going to be a tough going to be
- 41:26a tough ask though. Final game of our series or of
- 41:32the playoffs though. The Aces and the Fever.
- 41:39Game 1 was an absolute shootout and this is when we saw just no
- 41:49one on Indiana particularly score do crazy amount of
- 41:55scoring. It was just a really good team
- 41:57effort on the scoring end. But Asia Wilson just took
- 42:03dominated and took over and this one gonna talk about her
- 42:09performance first cuz on 15 and 9 shooting and two for two from
- 42:13deep, she scored 38 sixteenth had two assists, 2 steals and
- 42:20four blocked shots. Just she looked just unstoppable
- 42:27out there. They didn't really have a lot of
- 42:29answers for her in this one. And Indiana kept pace at a
- 42:35decent bit, but ultimately fell 102 to 85.
- 42:39You know, you saw multiple players though, getting to
- 42:42double digit scoring off the bench.
- 42:43Sophie Cunningham, Raven Johnson, 13 and 14 respectively.
- 42:50You Caitlin, she had 15 points. Not a great day out of her
- 42:54shooting. She was 16 to 7 or 6 to 17,
- 42:58three to 10 from deep. Did have her her 10 assists for
- 43:01six turnovers. So the assess the turnover ratio
- 43:04is a little rough there. They did a great job of limiting
- 43:08Kelsey Mitchell to just 12 points and Leah Boston probably
- 43:15the most efficient score on the day.
- 43:18The Fever were getting some points up there, but they didn't
- 43:20shoot it all too well. Ultimately, it ended up as at
- 43:2445% from the field as a team. But Las Vegas was just, you
- 43:29know, unconscious with their there's.
- 43:33They're shooting 59% from the field.
- 43:38They had won the rebound battle by a wide margin and they're the
- 43:45rim protection from Asia was elite in this one.
- 43:50Then got to highlight that that great, you know, back court duo
- 43:54Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young. They were phenomenal in this 118
- 43:58total assists between the two of them as well as scoring 35
- 44:01points. Jackie knocked down 3 threes as
- 44:06well and recorded 3 steals. So that was how game one went.
- 44:15Signature, signature Asia performance.
- 44:18But what happened in Game 2? They really want Fever wanted
- 44:22another chance and they got it. This was a they did a much
- 44:27better job of containing Asia in this one.
- 44:32She's still at the good game. She 22 points, 9 assists, but
- 44:38they were doing a good job of scoring from outside and, you
- 44:43know, pulling her away from the basket when they were before
- 44:47getting in there and driving in and, you know, shooting their
- 44:51layups. Jackie was actually the leading
- 44:54scorer for the Aces in this one with 31.
- 44:57She went 13 to 13 from the line. I can leave Indiana's defense
- 45:03credit they they sort of stopped the ball moving a little bit
- 45:05more. I mean, the assist for the Aces
- 45:08dropped in this one across the board.
- 45:11They did a better job of taking care of the basketball.
- 45:14And then I mean, Caitlin and Kelsey, when this duo gets
- 45:20going, it's it's tough to stop. Kelsey had 26 points in this
- 45:26one. And then Caitlin, this was
- 45:32probably her best game as a pro. I mean, I know she's probably
- 45:37scored more, but at with the stakes of this one, you know,
- 45:43facing elimination, the amount of points that she generated
- 45:47because she had 27 on her own, She knocked down 5 threes.
- 45:52She also had 15 assists, 15 She had 13.
- 45:57She had what, 14 and 11 by halftime, so a double double at
- 46:02halftime, also 7 rebounds. Like it was a I mean, she what
- 46:12they she generated so much offense for this Fever team.
- 46:19You got 22 out of Alea and it was yeah, that was just a
- 46:23vintage performance there. You can't that was special to
- 46:26watch. So we're going to have one more
- 46:28game that's going to be on Thursday and I think that's
- 46:31going to be a must watch. I was definitely right.
- 46:35This is this was the best matchup that we got of round
- 46:38one. And we've gotten some, you know,
- 46:39from the star players. We've gotten some vintage
- 46:42performances. I mean, game one it was, you
- 46:45know, the Asia Wilson show with her, her 38 points.
- 46:50But Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray were also fantastic in that
- 46:53one. But Game 2, Kelsey, Aaliyah and
- 46:57Caitlin all balled out of their minds.
- 47:01And even still, we got a fantastic performance out of
- 47:03Jackie Young. I can't, I can't wait to see
- 47:06what Game 3 has going to be back in Las Vegas Thursday, October
- 47:121st. I mean, I, I, I can't even give
- 47:18a prediction for this one. Who I don't know.
- 47:21We're just going to have to tune in and find out for this.
- 47:25I can't wait to see it. So that's going to wrap up our
- 47:30playoff talk. Going to go ahead and hit a
- 47:34quick break when we come back diving in to college football
- 47:40wild week around the NCAA, so stay tuned.
- 47:46Got that coming up here on the fun.

- 49:01MBR talk. Hey, thanks for supporting our
- 49:04channel by watching and listening.
- 49:09All. Right, we're back, ladies and
- 49:17gentlemen, for the final time out having discussed some great
- 49:22playoff action that we had going on in the MLBWNBA.
- 49:29Awesome time of year, man. I mean, it's we got some
- 49:32playoffs and a couple of sports. We got the football regular
- 49:36season, college and pro both starting.
- 49:38And I mean, pretty soon here we think actually we had the NHL
- 49:43started, had a couple of of its first games last night, didn't
- 49:48have a chance to catch those, was watching some other playoff
- 49:51action. And then the NBA season's close
- 49:54to starting as well. So, yeah, well, October, it's
- 49:59just that a sports feast. But we're going over the college
- 50:03football. We're going to break down
- 50:06everything that happened over the weekend, some of the
- 50:09takeaways that we got. So on Friday going do it through
- 50:15a top 25 rundown. The number 5 Indiana Hoosiers
- 50:19sneak out barely with a win against a a good look at
- 50:24Northwestern Wildcats team. I mean they blew out the
- 50:28Colorado the week before and then on the road in Bloomington
- 50:33took the defending national champs down to the wire.
- 50:38Aiden Charles of the for the Wildcats was fantastic with his
- 50:41293 two touchdowns. Really got no support from his
- 50:44running game so he shouldered it all.
- 50:46Luke Danick, he caught 7 balls for Buck for the I mean, they
- 50:51made some really big plays that defense you have Robert
- 50:55Fitzgerald was flying around Kobe McKenzie with some big
- 51:00tackles. They just weren't quite able to
- 51:06generate any takeaways. But they got they got Indiana
- 51:10the stall out and Josh Hoover I thought was solid and this one.
- 51:14But the the Hoosiers really just they had a clear game plan on
- 51:19how they wanted to win this game and that was to run the
- 51:22football. Turbo Richard did end up getting
- 51:25hurt after running just 9 carries.
- 51:27But what BB junior Lee BB junior stepped in and filled that role
- 51:34in a huge way. 24 carries, 2O3 and a touchdown, 1 yard short of
- 51:42time, a school record there for him.
- 51:49So he actually had more rushing yards than Hoover had passing.
- 51:52Hoover only had two O 1 BB with two O 3.
- 51:58Yeah, I mean, he was he was a huge reason why they won this
- 52:03game. He was as the game just went on.
- 52:08You could tell he was just wearing down that Northwestern
- 52:11defense who played really good all night.
- 52:14I mean, they kept this thing close.
- 52:17It was 2 nothing at the end of the first half.
- 52:19I mean, the only points generated where it wasn't safety
- 52:23off. I use defense, but I think this
- 52:27is how Kirk Signetti, he's OK with a football game like this
- 52:34on the backs of his defense. He recorded 4 sacks, 7TF LS and
- 52:45then he'll run the football and get it done that way.
- 52:49So I wouldn't say that like I think Northwestern is just a
- 52:55better team than people are are giving them credit for.
- 53:03They definitely have made some Broad and Chip Kelly, they got
- 53:06the the Aidan child's transfer was pretty big for them.
- 53:10It's a solid squad. This is a solid team, so not
- 53:14great. Not too shocked there.
- 53:16All right, what else is going on in the top 25?
- 53:19Well, Houston will start down at 25.
- 53:23They're going into the into this weekend as the 25th ranked team.
- 53:28Houston beaten Georgia Southern 42 to 28.
- 53:31Not the best showing out of their defense.
- 53:33Connor Wayman didn't throw 4 touchdowns, but Max Johnson
- 53:38looked fantastic for Georgia Southern thrown for 284 and
- 53:42three TDs Alex Taylor, he used to really struggle to cover.
- 53:47He had 66 grabs for 1/19 and two touchdowns.
- 53:54So not not super reassuring if you're a Cougars fan on how
- 54:01you're how your defense played in this one.
- 54:04I think you would have liked to see them be a little more stout,
- 54:07not give up as much points to, you know, at the time of 1 and 2
- 54:13Georgia Southern team. But your offense looked great.
- 54:16You ran for 2O2 on the ground quarterback through 4/4
- 54:22touchdowns and ran in another 2. So 6 total, 4 Wayman.
- 54:30We had SMU again, kind of just barely squeaking out a victory
- 54:37against Missouri State. I mean, it's just it's wild
- 54:44because he, Kevin Jennings, threw for 464 yards and three
- 54:50touchdowns. They had 128 yards rushing, 2T
- 54:54DS as a team. So you just think like, oh, they
- 54:57must have, yeah, like destroyed Missouri State, especially when
- 55:03like Missouri State's leading passer had 102 yards passing.
- 55:06But now 24 points that the the Bears put up only a 10 point
- 55:14victory, A34 to 24V for the Mustangs.
- 55:20We're kind of reeling from that loss to the the Wildcats.
- 55:24Jennings, another interception man like the turnover problems
- 55:29continue for him. You had give me your Knight also
- 55:37lost the fumble. Yeah, the turnovers weren't
- 55:43great for them. Like SMU, they're A-Team.
- 55:47They can put up a ton of yards and a ton of points how to turn
- 55:53the But they had a turnover on downs, downs as well.
- 55:57And all these penalties are just kind of lacking some discipline.
- 56:00Like they're just doing things that like, this is a game they
- 56:04should have just run away with and they just kept doing things
- 56:07that like what, Missouri, hang in there.
- 56:09I mean, they got started this game down 10 to nothing,
- 56:15Ultimately got a 11 point lead going into the fourth quarter,
- 56:19but gave up some late scores, were able to score a few times
- 56:23with themselves. But just one of those games like
- 56:26the Mustangs couldn't get out of their own way.
- 56:28They just kept shooting themselves in the foot.
- 56:32And that one ended up being a lot closer than you would have
- 56:36thought. All right, going to get to going
- 56:42to just go through some blowouts that we had.
- 56:46Texas Tech was I kind of want Sam Houston, hang in there for a
- 56:52minute. It was actually 21 to 14 at
- 56:54halftime. And then they shut them out in
- 56:56the second-half, blew them out 49 to 14.
- 57:00So got out to a sluggish start but remembered, oh hey, yeah,
- 57:04we're we're a much better team. And that dominated the Wildcats
- 57:12to get the victory. Some other blowouts that we had
- 57:18This one may be a surprise blowout for some people, but not
- 57:21for me because A&M, Texas A&M, they're they're frauds and they
- 57:27got crushed by LSU of 35 to 6. What's this?
- 57:31This is going to get the count as a ranked win for LSU this
- 57:35fight. I, I the Aggies shouldn't have
- 57:37been ranked. They they looked terrible last
- 57:40week against Kentucky. They again look just as terrible
- 57:45here against LSU and got crushed 35 to 6.
- 57:51This is the it's SCC bias I think because like why we there
- 57:57was no reason to leave A&M ranked after the performance
- 58:01they put up against Kentucky. But you have a the SEC team
- 58:07that's playoff hopeful, that's now going to get a ranked win on
- 58:11the resume. So why not leave them in the top
- 58:1525 at #23 now they're out, which, yeah, they should have
- 58:21been. I mean, Marcel reads just, I've
- 58:24given up all hope on this guy. He just cannot read a defense to
- 58:27save his life. They got absolutely no running
- 58:32game to speak of. Sam Levitt was just, he did
- 58:39whatever he wanted back there, 17 to 23312 yards, 2 touchdowns.
- 58:45I guess you know, they did get one interception off of him, but
- 58:51A&M in no way should have been ranked.
- 58:53It's not a surprise that they got blown out the way they got
- 58:56blown out. Some other blowouts from the
- 59:01weekend. How about Alabama destroying
- 59:06South Carolina 49 to 18? We're really seeing Keylon
- 59:11Russell come into his own as a player, though.
- 59:14I mean, he was. His athleticism and the ability
- 59:17as a rusher was fantastic. In fact, I love how he's just
- 59:21got developed as a passer. The season's going on.
- 59:24He was phenomenal in this 121 to 27365 yards and four touchdowns.
- 59:34Give him 35 more on the ground in another TD.
- 59:39Bama's offense has been humming. I I will say they still don't
- 59:46seem to really have a number one back, but they're they're
- 59:49getting it done by committee. That was just something that did
- 59:52them in last year was the lack of rushing game.
- 59:54They haven't played an opponent that really makes me, you know,
- 1:00:00question. That that's really been able to
- 1:00:03stop them passing or anything. So, you know, we'll we'll see if
- 1:00:07like when they get into some of the tougher SEC opponents, if
- 1:00:11they're able to run the ball effectively or fact, it becomes
- 1:00:16a problem. Again, I'm not not totally sure
- 1:00:20that that's not going to be an issue for them, but it's been
- 1:00:24pretty good so far this season. Norris Sellers man, what a fall
- 1:00:28from grace that guy was for you know, people are talking about
- 1:00:31him being that that number one, our first round draft pick.
- 1:00:35And now, I mean, it's just struggling to even throw for 200
- 1:00:40yards in the game and his team's getting dog walked in.
- 1:00:47Tuscaloosa rough 14918. Bama trouncing South Carolina,
- 1:00:58another blowout. Illinois really had a tough time
- 1:01:04staying competitive in the Big 10.
- 1:01:06They're sort of fading back towards the the middle or bottom
- 1:01:09of the pack. Julian saying for 363 yards and
- 1:01:15four touchdowns. And all four of those touchdowns
- 1:01:18went to one guy, one Jeremiah Smith, who had, I mean, this was
- 1:01:26a Heisman moment game for him, 12 catches for 217 yards and
- 1:01:31four touchdowns. This was like every Heisman's
- 1:01:36kind of kind of has to have one of those games where they just
- 1:01:40absolutely dominate and stuff the stat sheet and make an
- 1:01:47opposing defense look helpless. This was that game for Jeremiah
- 1:01:52Smith. I think this we'll probably
- 1:01:54shoot them up in the 1st place as as the Heisman favorite.
- 1:02:00Really good 42 to 19 Buckeyes can roll on another team with a
- 1:02:09couple of Heisman hopefuls. Miami Hurricanes were hosting
- 1:02:13the Central Michigan Chippewas wasn't close.
- 1:02:17There was there was no hope. So it was 35 to 3:00 at half
- 1:02:22time. Miami scored 28 points in 1/4 in
- 1:02:25the second quarter. I mean, Mensa and Tony, we're
- 1:02:29just out there is like playing backyard football.
- 1:02:31I mean, Tony 6 grabs for 120 yards and a touchdown.
- 1:02:35That's 20 yards of reception. They're like Jeremiah Smith,
- 1:02:40probably your number one in the highs in a lot of people's
- 1:02:43Heisman thing. He's one AI think Darian Mensa
- 1:02:47needs to be 1 beat the the efficiency of this guy as a
- 1:02:52passer. The ball hit the ground four
- 1:02:55times in this game. When Darian Mensa threw it, he
- 1:02:57was 23 and 27 for 3:38 and 3:00 touchdowns.
- 1:03:01He's I mean the, the, the patience and the decision
- 1:03:07making. The completion percentage is out
- 1:03:10of this world on the season. 7 incompletions.
- 1:03:16Through four games, he's thrown 7 incompletions.
- 1:03:22He's got 621 yards and eight touchdowns.
- 1:03:25Some people think Smith is going to run away from the football,
- 1:03:28but this kid is, I mean, we knew the like his ability as a passer
- 1:03:34and the explosiveness being top five coming out of Duke last
- 1:03:38year. But what Mario Cristobal and the
- 1:03:42Miami offense have really brought out of him, like he is
- 1:03:47just become a mat. Like he's just so good at
- 1:03:50dissecting defenses. The Wake Forest game really
- 1:03:54impressed me because like, he his ability to stay patient and
- 1:03:58just take what the defense was giving him that whole game.
- 1:04:01Like Wake Forest did not want to give up anything deep and he
- 1:04:05just picked them apart underneath until they had they
- 1:04:08were forced to come up and then he hit them deep.
- 1:04:12He's been really impressive. So those are your top 2
- 1:04:15Heisman's in my opinion, but 52 to 3 Miami all over the
- 1:04:21Chippewas. Couple more blowouts.
- 1:04:25I mean Notre Dame feel like they play Purdue every year and they
- 1:04:29beat Purdue by just an insane margin. 49 to 10 and this one, I
- 1:04:37mean, what not a lot to say on this one.
- 1:04:40I mean you just it's the the Irish are just so much of
- 1:04:44another team over the Boilermakers.
- 1:04:46They had 6 sacks and this one, their defense continues to look
- 1:04:51really good. CJ Carr threw for four
- 1:04:55touchdowns or for three touchdowns in this one.
- 1:04:59It's just kind of weird man. I like the the running backs
- 1:05:02like Williams, Jones, Walton, Nolan, James, Alford, all have
- 1:05:09been good for another name. But it's just kind of weird not
- 1:05:11seeing Jeremiah Love back there, man.
- 1:05:14He he was just so dominant. And for there to not be this
- 1:05:18dominant back at Notre Dame is just kind of weird.
- 1:05:23Weird for me. But yeah, 49 to 10, Notre Dame
- 1:05:26all over Purdue, Oklahoma have been really struggling on the
- 1:05:33year. And then they had to go into
- 1:05:35Athens to play the Georgia Bulldogs.
- 1:05:39Not a lot of mercy in this one. Georgia beat them down 41 to 13.
- 1:05:48It was it was a very movable object, a very a very immovable
- 1:05:55object in this Georgian defense. Met an incredibly stoppable
- 1:05:59force in this Oklahoma offense. I actually think John Material
- 1:06:06played a lot better than I expected threw for 231 two
- 1:06:12touchdowns did have a pick completion percentage wasn't bad
- 1:06:1725 to 34. I mean move the ball fairly
- 1:06:22decently despite not really getting any support from his
- 1:06:25running game. But all the they they had all
- 1:06:30these fumbles. I mean he lost two fumbles.
- 1:06:32He just couldn't protect them the football that was the
- 1:06:35problem. So go figure, he he looks a
- 1:06:40little bit better as a passer and then he can't hold on to a
- 1:06:43football to save his life. All right, but that kind of
- 1:06:48covers some of your blowouts in the top 25.
- 1:06:53Yeah, a couple and then one more.
- 1:06:55Again, not necessarily a blow up with A2 touchdown victory for
- 1:06:58the utes 31 to 17 over the Iowa State Cyclones.
- 1:07:04Again Utah's rushing attack looking really good way.
- 1:07:07Sean Parker with 174 yards and two touchdowns in this one and
- 1:07:14the other defense continuing to to play really well.
- 1:07:19Couple of interceptions from Braden Pagan, Jackson benet Utes
- 1:07:26get their first victory in Big 12.
- 1:07:29Big 12 play, they was on the road in the hostile environment
- 1:07:34playing Iowa State. They looked really good and
- 1:07:38we're in control for most of this game.
- 1:07:42All right, well, hey, how about a couple of ranked teams getting
- 1:07:45upset this weekend? We'll start with the one I think
- 1:07:50isn't that surprising and Wake Forest.
- 1:07:55Wake Forest, they got a pretty good team man Gio Lopez as an
- 1:08:01efficient passer. They don't have error out too
- 1:08:03much, but they've got a really good 1-2 punch with Ty Clark and
- 1:08:06Deuce Lawrence. And this Carlos Hernandez, he
- 1:08:12had nine of the 12 receptions in this game for Wake Forest for
- 1:08:18$194.00 and four touchdowns. This Hernandez dude is a dog.
- 1:08:23I mean he he's he can go up and get those 5050 balls.
- 1:08:29He's just he's physical. He's not like super tall, he's
- 1:08:33only 6 foot, but he's just he's super athletic.
- 1:08:38He's a just a wild card man. I mean you he's great after the
- 1:08:42catch and a lot of times you just see him he gets just wide
- 1:08:46open. So honestly, somebody NFL scouts
- 1:08:50need to have on their radar. This guy, it's draft stock.
- 1:08:53I feel like as as each game goes on, it's just shooting up.
- 1:08:57He's he had a good game against, you know, Miami where he
- 1:09:03recorded 1010 receptions. He was unstoppable in this one.
- 1:09:09And that's been look, Louisville's big problem is the
- 1:09:12big play just kills them in this one.
- 1:09:17And they gave up that 77 yard touchdown to him.
- 1:09:22Their kick get blocked. I mean, their offense still
- 1:09:28moved the ball really well, but the big that was never a problem
- 1:09:34for them. But the big problem is just they
- 1:09:37can't really stop the big play. And that's what I don't see a
- 1:09:43lot of teams go on long drives against the squad because
- 1:09:46there's usually like a big play that gets them in the scoring
- 1:09:49range and the week off of their just fantastic performance on
- 1:09:54the ground. Keyhoan and Isaac Brown just
- 1:09:57could not get anything going. Keyholtz was good in this 1323,
- 1:10:03did have a pretty bad interception.
- 1:10:06I'll be a Wake Forest. They've got the Demon Deacons,
- 1:10:10have a good defense. I mean, they've got a pretty
- 1:10:11solid defense. They're able to force some
- 1:10:16takeaways and just give their team some some opportunities and
- 1:10:22ultimately they were able to sneak out of here and get a
- 1:10:25victory. They feel like great.
- 1:10:26Like Louisville's offense got all discombobulated in the
- 1:10:31second-half, and it was a lot sloppier for them in the
- 1:10:36second-half. They were looking good, scored
- 1:10:4121 in the first half, but Wake Forest scored 21 in the second
- 1:10:46quarter alone, Actually had the lead going in the half time.
- 1:10:53Just both teams. It got sloppy there for both
- 1:10:57teams and I think Wake Forest just a team better equipped to
- 1:11:02handle the the the sloppy matchups and and come away with
- 1:11:08a victory. There a lot of penalties, most
- 1:11:11of those come in the second-half as well.
- 1:11:14Yeah, Louisville just looked out of the sorts coming out of
- 1:11:18halftime. Like they the game plan just
- 1:11:21fell apart. Whatever it was in the
- 1:11:23second-half, they weren't able to make adjustments.
- 1:11:27So 30 to 27 victory for Wake Forest.
- 1:11:31But like, I don't I don't really view this as that bad of a loss
- 1:11:35or Louisville. Like, I mean, it don't it was a
- 1:11:37home loss to an unranked team, but I think this Wake Forest
- 1:11:41team is probably one of the better teams we've seen than the
- 1:11:43ACC so far this year. I didn't they were they flew on
- 1:11:48their my right there. I didn't see that, but they've
- 1:11:49been really impressive from early on in this season.
- 1:11:54Another team getting upset at home, the Nittany Lions.
- 1:11:58Man, what's up with James Franklin always losing these?
- 1:12:00Oh wait, he's not there anymore. Who do we blame for this one?
- 1:12:06Well, we can start with Rocco back 12 or 29.
- 1:12:10I mean, he just, he looked like he couldn't hit the broadside of
- 1:12:14a barn. He was wildly inaccurate in this
- 1:12:19one, and he only threw for 114 yards.
- 1:12:22This Penn State offense was was just plain bad.
- 1:12:28Tell us how you really feel. They had to go.
- 1:12:32It was a committee of people just to get 119 yards on 36
- 1:12:37carries like Wisconsin, this is ATM.
- 1:12:41You do not want to get into a low scoring defensive battle
- 1:12:45because this is exactly that's exactly the type of game they're
- 1:12:50able to pull out and win. And then late in this one, down
- 1:12:553, Wisconsin's looking to drive to get in the field goal range.
- 1:13:03And I mean, this might have been, this is like the just an
- 1:13:08inexcusable lapse from the Penn State defense.
- 1:13:11First before I said it's like, this is just how this guy got
- 1:13:15this wide open and then nobody was able to tackle him is beyond
- 1:13:19me. But the slowest tight end I
- 1:13:22think I've ever seen in my life, Jacob Harris, gets wide open,
- 1:13:26catches the ball and houses it for a 72 yard touchdown.
- 1:13:31And I was on 1/3 down too, if I'm not mistaken.
- 1:13:35So, you know, you have the chance to potentially force
- 1:13:39Wisconsin into a long 4th and 4th down to stay alive in this
- 1:13:46game. And you just get like a complete
- 1:13:49breakdown. I mean, there was one guy that
- 1:13:52was able to kind of come over and I'd make an attempt on the
- 1:13:55big tight end and he just got stiff armed into the dirt and
- 1:14:00this dude just rumbled into the end zone.
- 1:14:06Yeah, really bad home loss for the Nittany Lions, and they're
- 1:14:15definitely missing their their number one wide receiver, Kobe
- 1:14:19Howard. Those are our unranked upsets.
- 1:14:24But how about some ranked upsets, I think and ranked head
- 1:14:31to head matchups. We'll start with Missouri and
- 1:14:34Mississippi State. And something you're going to
- 1:14:38hear a lot from me because about this SEC bias, because again, it
- 1:14:42just bothers me. Like why is Mizzou ranked?
- 1:14:46But this was a this was an entertaining game.
- 1:14:51Yeah, we had a good, you know, Austin Simmons through for 295
- 1:14:54and three touchdowns, Kamario Taylor 360 from three
- 1:14:58touchdowns. We had a good quarterback tool
- 1:15:00going here. Mississippi State gets the home
- 1:15:03V31 to 24. But I mean, I'm looking at, but
- 1:15:09like I was looking at Missouri's resume in the past two seasons
- 1:15:13because they've been ranked in the top 25 since they're ranked
- 1:15:21to start the year and they were yeah, in and out of the rankings
- 1:15:26or around, you know, the the high 20s to low 20s last year.
- 1:15:32Their best win over the past two seasons is like an 8 and A5 Iowa
- 1:15:35team. I mean, this year their best
- 1:15:39wins win is against A1 in three Kansas team.
- 1:15:45They got a 10 point win over trolley.
- 1:15:48Like, huh. And there's still they're still
- 1:15:53ranked 25th, but that doesn't make any sense to me.
- 1:15:56They're not that they're not good.
- 1:15:58Like if they weren't an SEC team, would they even be right?
- 1:16:04Like no, they wouldn't. So we're just anything the
- 1:16:13booster, the resume of other SEC teams, I guess now like
- 1:16:16Mississippi State, they've been really good.
- 1:16:19They're foreign though. This was this was a pretty good
- 1:16:21signature win for them. But up until this point, I don't
- 1:16:24think that they played anybody too impressive.
- 1:16:26You and El Monroe, Minnesota did just get a big upset victory
- 1:16:31over over Washington. So you can count that as a
- 1:16:36quality when they kind of blew them out.
- 1:16:38So the resume is starting to shape up a little bit better.
- 1:16:43Well, they certainly they're more deserving of the rank than
- 1:16:47Missouri is. I don't think Missouri should
- 1:16:49should be ranked, but they are. And then it's just we're going
- 1:16:57to have this weekend, we're going to have two, four and O
- 1:16:59power conference teams that are unranked playing each other.
- 1:17:03That's the first time that's ever happened.
- 1:17:06And this is the longest it's taken for us to ever get a group
- 1:17:08of 16 ranked in the top 25. I'll be going over the rankings
- 1:17:13in just a minute. We had a crazy upset or come
- 1:17:19from behind victory from the Iowa Hawkeyes.
- 1:17:22A bit of karmic justice. Michigan has a guy get hurt and
- 1:17:29that ends up saving 2 seconds for the Hawkeyes.
- 1:17:35Michigan the beneficiary of a of one second being put back on the
- 1:17:42clock that robbed Western Michigan of their of a signature
- 1:17:47win. Well, the Hawkeyes and the
- 1:17:50universe gave them the justice as Hank Brown found his man
- 1:17:58Reese Vanderzee in on the back in the corner of the end zone
- 1:18:05right on the front pylon for the last second touchdown, this time
- 1:18:10expired. This was, I mean, this was a
- 1:18:13peak Iowa, Michigan Wolverines football game.
- 1:18:16It was defensive. You saw each team really
- 1:18:24struggle to move the ball at times.
- 1:18:27But in the fourth quarter, the offenses just started to find
- 1:18:32some rhythm. And Michigan in the They scored
- 1:18:36six, but Iowa scored 13 to after only having seven all game.
- 1:18:46They climbed back into this one. It was like you had right at the
- 1:18:49start, we had both teams get some touchdowns to open the game
- 1:18:53and you were like, oh, that might be it.
- 1:18:54That might be all the scoring we see in this one for the rest of
- 1:18:56the game. But then at the end of it,
- 1:18:59couple of really good final drives out of each squad.
- 1:19:01And I mean, obviously Iowa with the miraculous drive to get into
- 1:19:09a good range to to throw that last second touchdown to
- 1:19:12Vanderzee Hawkeyes are four and O and that was a pretty
- 1:19:18signature win for them, although they do have, I think it's Ohio
- 1:19:22State this week going to be that's going to be that's going
- 1:19:25to be a tough one. Hank's going to have to do a
- 1:19:29little bit better than 21 of 35 passing.
- 1:19:34But yeah, signature victory there for the Hawkeyes and
- 1:19:38Michigan. Like it's about time we got to
- 1:19:41finally just get those guys out of the top 25, All right?
- 1:19:46We're going to go to that Texas Tennessee game.
- 1:19:52Defensive, defensive struggle there.
- 1:19:57To be expected. I mean, this was a tough, you
- 1:20:00know, it's always a tough place to go into Nashville, play the
- 1:20:04balls. And I mean, they're there.
- 1:20:08The crowd was amped up. And we just it was kind of like
- 1:20:12it had one of those feelings like who's going to be able to
- 1:20:16sustain and get that that that just good drive that in the
- 1:20:21fourth quarter and, you know, be able to score late and then make
- 1:20:28the play defensively, the hold on.
- 1:20:29And ultimately it was Texas. They didn't run the ball
- 1:20:33particularly well and this one, but really Brown on their final
- 1:20:39one of their final drives have a couple of nice runs.
- 1:20:43Arch not lighting up the stat sheet, only two O 1 in the
- 1:20:46interception, but a couple of clutch throws late.
- 1:20:51Really the Texas, I mean this is their strength.
- 1:20:53They just got behind their defense.
- 1:20:56Rashem Biles had 13 tackles. Colin Simmons played out of his
- 1:21:01mind. He was the guy that got
- 1:21:03penalized for pissing on the field and metaphorically that
- 1:21:07was one of his celebrations. But 5 1/2 sacks, 5 TF LS.
- 1:21:13I mean he made his impact felt 10 sacks as a team for Texas.
- 1:21:19It was. I mean I'm not even taking
- 1:21:21trying to take anything away from Tennessee's team.
- 1:21:23They had six sacks, 10 TF LS and this one as well.
- 1:21:29And then the reception as well as a fumble, 2 forced fumbles,
- 1:21:34and the fumble recovery. Both defenses were phenomenal
- 1:21:41and each team did get a late drive.
- 1:21:43But ultimately it was the Texas defense that made that play late
- 1:21:48and Texas was able to get one extra field goal and that was
- 1:21:52that ended up being the difference really in this one.
- 1:21:57And a 20 to 17 victory for the Longhorns.
- 1:22:02Big statement victory on the road, keeping it in the SEC
- 1:22:09match. That really surprised me.
- 1:22:14Central or I mean Florida just kind of beat the brakes off Old
- 1:22:20miss. They got him 52 to 28.
- 1:22:26Chambliss did did what he could. I mean, he still looks really
- 1:22:31good in this one, but they just couldn't really take it.
- 1:22:37The old miss defense had no answers for for the especially
- 1:22:41this rushing attack. Duke Clark and Jayden Baugh 8 in
- 1:22:45this one. 302 yards and six total touchdowns as a team for
- 1:22:50Florida. 142 of those came from Baugh, 126 came from Clark. 3T
- 1:22:58DS on the ground for Jayden, one for Duke and then I mean with
- 1:23:06they just control the line of scrimmage, basically ran the
- 1:23:10football at will and then those those play action shots that
- 1:23:15they would just take behind the old miss defense when they got
- 1:23:19sucked up, just kill them. I'm not really sure if Aaron
- 1:23:24Philo's a good quarterback or if he just is a gay an elite game
- 1:23:28manager. Probably an elite game manager
- 1:23:31because you just for this defense and the running game
- 1:23:36where they took over in this one.
- 1:23:40I mean, still 28 points for the Rebels.
- 1:23:43Deuce Alexander had 134 yards in the touchdown.
- 1:23:48Just struggle to get anything going.
- 1:23:51A lot of it really fell on Chambliss and they there wasn't
- 1:23:56much of A threat of run. I mean, your quarterback was the
- 1:23:58leading rusher. Georgia just started sitting
- 1:24:02back and taking away those throwing lanes, making it very
- 1:24:06difficult on him. This could be, this could be a
- 1:24:11dangerous team for the if they're able to do every game,
- 1:24:20that's for them. They're going to play Texas and
- 1:24:27Georgia. Those are probably the two top
- 1:24:31defensive fronts in the SEC. In my opinion, two of the top 10
- 1:24:36defensive fronts in the whole country regardless are is this
- 1:24:42for the offensive line going to be able to control the line of
- 1:24:45scrimmage against them like they have done to so many teams this
- 1:24:49year? That'll be the real test.
- 1:24:50But they've got Missouri who shouldn't be ranked but is so
- 1:24:56we'll get another ranked win on their resume.
- 1:25:00This is this is a great victory for them in the swamp.
- 1:25:03I I I'll say it was impressive. It was really impressive to an
- 1:25:06old best team to at this point the season had the best resume
- 1:25:10in the country with victories over Louisville and LSU final
- 1:25:16game to really cover here in our top 25, a signature, well, not
- 1:25:24signature, but that just a a new Big 10 matchup, but a class the
- 1:25:30Oregon Ducks and the USC Trojans.
- 1:25:33And we saw Dante Moore get taken out of this one early with a
- 1:25:36brutal, brutal head injury. Took a shot when he was sliding
- 1:25:46from Desmond. What was that jackass's name?
- 1:25:52Desmond, Steven. Something like that.
- 1:25:56Again, tell us how you're real. Yeah, well, I did.
- 1:25:59It's just a dirty ass shot on the sliding quarterback and then
- 1:26:04he's running around celebrating and like laughing on the
- 1:26:07sidelines. Like, well, you know, look at
- 1:26:09this. It's not just one player.
- 1:26:11I the one thing I find is funny. Me and my wife said this all the
- 1:26:14time when we watch, especially the Denver Broncos game, the
- 1:26:18ball will bounce off the ground and these players will act like
- 1:26:23we catch it and then run it for a touchdown.
- 1:26:26It's like, dummy, don't you realize that we have instant
- 1:26:30replay? Well, that doesn't make sense.
- 1:26:34Yeah, this one, I didn't like you.
- 1:26:36He hurt a guy like badly on a it's a quarterback sliding.
- 1:26:42So that's already the defenseless player.
- 1:26:45And like, Dante had to be taken off the field on the stretcher
- 1:26:50and loaded on the ambulance. He got hospitalized off of his
- 1:26:53head. So, like, you know that there
- 1:26:56are those risks when you play football.
- 1:26:58But that was one where it's like, he's sliding that you
- 1:27:01don't need to make a hit like that, right?
- 1:27:04Well, luckily for Oregon, they have a backup quarterback who
- 1:27:08spent two years as a starter in the Big 10.
- 1:27:13Dylan Riola came in and I mean, he was, I mean, this one,
- 1:27:22throwing 19 and 25289 yards and two touchdowns off the bench.
- 1:27:28The Oregon defense made some big plays, forcing some.
- 1:27:32They forced some turnovers, picking off Jayden Maiava,
- 1:27:36Deidre, Dearie Hill in the second-half.
- 1:27:41He had a drive where, I mean, it was all him.
- 1:27:43He had a couple of catches, he had a couple of big runs.
- 1:27:48It was the Dairy Hill Drive that resulted in the touchdown, 28
- 1:27:54points scored in the second quarter by the Oregon Ducks and
- 1:28:00they got a big signature 41 to 27 victory and this team's
- 1:28:06starting to put themselves together.
- 1:28:10It was a rough start to the year.
- 1:28:12It really was. And I think, you know, Dan
- 1:28:17landing and this team really took a deep look inside and you
- 1:28:26know, they refocused back to the roots.
- 1:28:32They they try to they try to establish the run and then
- 1:28:36they've been, you know, using that to set up the explosive
- 1:28:40passing. And we saw the defense again,
- 1:28:43like they had been bad to start. The unit was supposed to be an
- 1:28:47improved defensive unit. And while they did give up 27
- 1:28:52points, I think to an offense that's as an explosive as use
- 1:28:56USC thing, but, you know, came away with a big take away.
- 1:29:07And I mean, late in this one, especially in the fourth
- 1:29:10quarter, they shut down the Trojans.
- 1:29:14And it was it was a signature victory for them to get them
- 1:29:17back into the playoff conversation on the road against
- 1:29:23a an old rival. So I'm not sure how severe
- 1:29:27Moore's injury is going to be, but he's probably going to miss
- 1:29:31at least one more game with a concussion.
- 1:29:36Take a look at the new top 25 before we move on to the NFL and
- 1:29:41we're also going to take a look at some of the matchups coming
- 1:29:43up here. I'll I'll screen share this too,
- 1:29:48just so everyone can see what we're what we're looking at
- 1:29:52here. So this is the current AP top 25
- 1:29:58as it stands. I think Miami deserves to be
- 1:30:04above Notre Dame, but those your top four can.
- 1:30:10All right. All of those teams are in
- 1:30:12undefeated Ohio State. I mean, you look at the resume
- 1:30:18like #5 I guess they started the year at 1:00, but like, we're
- 1:30:24going to put them like over like undefeated teams.
- 1:30:31I don't know if I'm ready to put Florida in the top five, but
- 1:30:34it's just one of those things where it's like, I mean, Indiana
- 1:30:38doesn't necessarily have the resume either, but they don't
- 1:30:40have a loss. So you can maybe put them ahead
- 1:30:45of their big jump for Florida. That was an impressive victory
- 1:30:48there, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them slide as
- 1:30:52well. They have some tough stretch
- 1:30:55coming up here. BYU is about in the right place,
- 1:31:05LSU about in the right place here.
- 1:31:11I mean, Texas Tech here's where are Texas Tech.
- 1:31:14They've beaten a top 25 school. Like shouldn't they?
- 1:31:20They could be up there, head of old miss BYU and LSU right
- 1:31:25behind Florida or even the head of Florida.
- 1:31:28So like the Red Raiders are ranked too low.
- 1:31:34I'm I'm happy with where Utah's. I think that's a good spot for
- 1:31:38them for now. They've beaten a couple of
- 1:31:41powerful conference teams. Nobody in the top 25 yet.
- 1:31:45Iowa after a win like that should be ahead of Utah like
- 1:31:51they should. And maybe even unless you I
- 1:31:55would, I can jump them up a little bit more.
- 1:31:58I think Mississippi State's probably still a little too
- 1:32:03highly ranked. I would move them back to like
- 1:32:0517. USC should be like back down
- 1:32:09here. YSMU is still is jumping out to
- 1:32:1421. That wasn't a very impressive
- 1:32:16win. I think Missouri should be out
- 1:32:19of the top 25. I'm glad Oklahoma State finally
- 1:32:21got ranked and then Boise, they finally got into the rankings
- 1:32:27and then UCLA. This is a bit of a surprise for
- 1:32:29me. The Bruins, I've been kind of
- 1:32:33flying under the Raider, but they've got some nice impressive
- 1:32:35wins, dominated Maryland, California, a solid a pretty
- 1:32:41good San Diego State team that they took care of and a big
- 1:32:45victory over over the the Boilermakers.
- 1:32:51So but again, a little I'm just it's a little weird seeing them
- 1:32:57in the top 25. I'm an Oregon fan, so it works.
- 1:33:01Oregon's benefit if they can beat them, that's another top 25
- 1:33:04win for them. But it's like one of those
- 1:33:06things where it's like, is that like they did they get ranked
- 1:33:10just because we see that they're coming up against Oregon and we
- 1:33:12want this, the showdown like Wisconsin did get blown out by
- 1:33:17the Notre Dame, but they just beat Penn State who got dropped
- 1:33:21out of the rankings. Wake Forest really hung in there
- 1:33:27with a very good Miami team and just bear and then beat
- 1:33:33Louisville. Virginia Tech spins really solid
- 1:33:37to start the year. Pittsburgh.
- 1:33:39Those are the two teams they're four know that they're playing
- 1:33:41each other and don't have and aren't part of a not ranked in
- 1:33:47the top 25 rather. So I don't know that the AP top
- 1:33:5725 pulls just not it's not really hitting for me.
- 1:34:01Looking ahead the next week though, couple of matchups like
- 1:34:08Alabama, Mississippi State. We want to watch their Iowa and
- 1:34:13Ohio State going to be a rowdy Kennock stadium there in Iowa
- 1:34:19City, Florida, Missouri. I think Florida's should expose
- 1:34:24Missouri here to be honest. Kentucky with a newly ranked
- 1:34:29team with a road test in South Carolina.
- 1:34:34Clemson hasn't been really good this year, but they are going to
- 1:34:37be hosting Miami. Could be a slight trap game
- 1:34:41there. Let's see.
- 1:34:52Right? Like not to.
- 1:34:53There aren't too many crazy matchups this week.
- 1:34:56The pit it. What I'm really looking at is
- 1:34:58this pit Virginia Tech game, the Friday night 24, no teams, both
- 1:35:04unranked, both maybe deserving of a ranking.
- 1:35:09I think whoever wins that definitely has a case to be
- 1:35:13included in the top 25, but this is going to have some massive
- 1:35:18implications for the ACC coming up here.
- 1:35:22All right, well, just to sure, we're going to just transition
- 1:35:26and jump right on over to Week 3 of the NFL.
- 1:35:32We're going to start on Thursday night.
- 1:35:34Last Thursday night, the Packers just look broken.
- 1:35:41I mean, maybe the Falcons really did just need the quarterback in
- 1:35:46there. Michael Pendeks finally back in
- 1:35:50the lineup for Atlanta. They give, you know, you give
- 1:35:56Bijan Robinson the ball 31 times.
- 1:36:00Good things do usually happen. 29 carries for 194 yards.
- 1:36:06Also caught 2 passes as well. So Drake London finally come
- 1:36:11alive. 9 grabs for 194 as well. I mean that the explosiveness in
- 1:36:17the playmakers of Atlanta, we're cut.
- 1:36:21We're on full display. Atlanta ran for 242 and 3
- 1:36:26touchdowns. I.
- 1:36:28The Packers ought to focus on them.
- 1:36:35The line is just terrible. They've brought in they.
- 1:36:38Over the past week, they've signed Kevin Zeitler, Mackay,
- 1:36:42Beckton and I don't remember the last guy saying, but they're
- 1:36:50they're trying. They're they got to bring in
- 1:36:51some help. It was just horrible, terrible
- 1:36:56reps out of this team. They're so predictable.
- 1:36:58They can't run the ball. So you just know that they're
- 1:37:01going to throw him. You're asking Jordan love to do
- 1:37:04a lot dropping back 53 * a game and the amount of time he just
- 1:37:10sees immediate pressure. One of my favorite reps that I
- 1:37:14saw it was the IT was a third down where ya ya Diabi
- 1:37:19absolutely blasted him, smoked him on an A gap blitz.
- 1:37:23No, no, no, not Diabi Divine Diablo #0 smoked him on an A gap
- 1:37:32blitz and you had a four offensive lineman blocking 2
- 1:37:36defenders. Not a single person picked up
- 1:37:39the a gap pressure and that was on 1/3 down.
- 1:37:43It was a play that almost looked like a fumble, but Love was just
- 1:37:45able to get in his his hand going forward. 17 rushing yards
- 1:37:52as a team, A lot of soul searching to do if you're Green
- 1:37:57Bay. I think it all starts on the
- 1:38:02offense. It starts with the offensive
- 1:38:04line and being able to run the football.
- 1:38:07Jordan Love, I will and I still think is one of the the elite
- 1:38:12quarterbacks in the NFL. He's top ten, but you just
- 1:38:15there's just not much you can do in your offensive line is that
- 1:38:19bad? And when your offense is that
- 1:38:21predictable, I mean, when the the defense knows you're going
- 1:38:25to throw it like and you're still going to see pressure.
- 1:38:32I mean, the Falcons got a lot of pressure just rushing for.
- 1:38:37So I don't know if this is necessarily if Atlanta is
- 1:38:41actually just going to be really good.
- 1:38:43I think the Packers just right now, both sides of the ball are
- 1:38:47just in disarray and in shambles.
- 1:38:49We'll see if they get that back together.
- 1:38:52Now, another guy that I like to I would defend and I believe is
- 1:38:57still an elite quarterback, Justin Herbert.
- 1:39:02This was a tough one to defend because, I mean, your defense
- 1:39:04forced 5 takeaways. They picked Josh Allen off
- 1:39:08twice, they forced 3 fumbles and took and recovered all of those.
- 1:39:14You had five turnovers and you were able to turn that into 16
- 1:39:19points. Yeah, Tom Brady calling one of
- 1:39:22your passes a meatball sub really bad.
- 1:39:26I mean, this was a port out of the Bills and this is a Bills
- 1:39:31defense. I've been just getting picked
- 1:39:33apart. The other reason they were two
- 1:39:35and those is Josh Allen was playing phenomenal football.
- 1:39:41Allen was terrible. Like he he was sucked in this
- 1:39:43one. 2O42 interceptions. He also fumble what had one of
- 1:39:47the fumbles. Bills eventually just just got
- 1:39:52to just turn the ball around and hand it off to James Cook and at
- 1:39:55that point the the Chargers defense.
- 1:40:02Was getting pushed around, couldn't really they couldn't
- 1:40:06stop that. I seem to just go to a backfield
- 1:40:12by committee. All the key is Keaton Mitchell
- 1:40:16cut into a lot of them Marion Hamptons work.
- 1:40:22I I don't know what's up with Herbert this year.
- 1:40:24The Mike McDaniel thing out there was a lot of hype and a
- 1:40:28lot of excitement around that and it just has not panned out.
- 1:40:35First two games were were really rough.
- 1:40:37And this one, I mean, you had a chance to get back on track and
- 1:40:41steal one on the road against the really elite team.
- 1:40:45You just, you blew it. You squandered every
- 1:40:49opportunity. Bills end up sneaking out of
- 1:40:52this one, a game they shouldn't have won.
- 1:40:54They shouldn't have won this game, but they they end up doing
- 1:40:57that getting the victory 24 to 16.
- 1:41:05Panthers and Browns. The Browns are two and one.
- 1:41:12Like what? What is going on?
- 1:41:17Bryce Young dropped back and threw this ball 48 times in this
- 1:41:23one and the Panthers ran. I mean, they ran so many plays.
- 1:41:32They had way more total yards, 100 more, and yet somehow their
- 1:41:41time of possession was just still the same.
- 1:41:44I mean, like I I just Cleveland had 12 penalties in this game.
- 1:41:51They were five of 15 on. They blurred down, but they
- 1:41:55didn't convert on 3rd down. They didn't really pass the ball
- 1:42:01particularly well. They ran the ball all right with
- 1:42:06a, you know, 130 rushing yards, 132.
- 1:42:14I just like how Carolina, I don't know what Carolina did,
- 1:42:19just keep letting them hang in this one.
- 1:42:21I mean they didn't convert on 3rd or 4th down, the O for three
- 1:42:25on 3rd down on 4th down rather was really bad.
- 1:42:30Like what? It's another thing Watson didn't
- 1:42:32play well. I mean he threw the late last
- 1:42:36second touchdown the Herald fan and he barely had 144 yards.
- 1:42:40A lot of that came late in this one.
- 1:42:45I mean this all of this really is on like the Browns defense
- 1:42:51getting those stops on 3rd and 4th down.
- 1:42:56Even though the Panthers move the ball all right, they just
- 1:42:59kept having to settle for field goals.
- 1:43:05Only one touchdown in this game. So for the for Carolina, solid
- 1:43:13like solid down down for the for a huge yeah, I mean, this was
- 1:43:20all really on the Browns defense.
- 1:43:23John Watson probably played one of his worst games as a person.
- 1:43:27You want to go see it, Theo actually the phenomenal film
- 1:43:30breaking Watson. I mean, a number of times he
- 1:43:35just he just stops moving and just like freezes on his drop
- 1:43:39back. So but somehow he's getting a
- 1:43:44lot of credit for this one. I would give that all on the
- 1:43:46greens defense. I mean, Carolina could have
- 1:43:52easily run away with this. They're making some phenomenal
- 1:43:56stops and phenomenal plays. All right, we're going we're
- 1:44:00going to our next game. We're going to start moving
- 1:44:02through these, The Jets and the Lions that will expect a lot of
- 1:44:07yards, a lot of points. And this one, both quarterbacks
- 1:44:12I thought were great. Chino 3137 three, 21, three
- 1:44:16touchdowns. Goofer Jared Goff 269 and two
- 1:44:21touchdowns. Story though Jameer Gibbs took
- 1:44:26over in this one, The Jets struggled to run the football
- 1:44:29out there. Bruce Hall got hurt.
- 1:44:31Gibbs had no issues finding the end zone on this. 199 yards on
- 1:44:35the ground and two touchdowns. And then yeah, let's just add 65
- 1:44:40receiving yards on 7 receptions and another touchdown.
- 1:44:44This guy good reason that he was the number one overall player in
- 1:44:49fantasy football. Absolute touches machine.
- 1:44:53The yardage of the touchdowns. He was feasting on the other
- 1:44:59side though. Garrett Wilson signature
- 1:45:04performance out of hand. 10 catches, one O 7 and a
- 1:45:07touchdown. That one, the catch that he had
- 1:45:11on 4th down ended up being a touchdown.
- 1:45:14Just reminding you why this guy's an elite receiver.
- 1:45:19He just does not really had good quarterback play to bring it out
- 1:45:24of him. But Gino's, Gino's probably the
- 1:45:30best quarterback. Yeah, it might be crazy to say,
- 1:45:32but he's probably the best quarterback he's had in his
- 1:45:34entire career. And I've I just want to
- 1:45:37highlight Kenyan City because I think we're really starting to
- 1:45:39see the emerging emergence of what could be a special player.
- 1:45:45I mean, a tight end, but they you they line them out out wide
- 1:45:49a lot. I mean, he's like a big wide
- 1:45:51receiver. Had a phenomenal catch over the
- 1:45:56top of the defender. Great throw by Gino.
- 1:45:59Put that up high where his big tight end could go up and get it
- 1:46:03coming down with it coming out party.
- 1:46:06He looks healthy like finally looks healthy in this 17 grabs
- 1:46:11for one O 5 and a touchdown if he's not already on the team.
- 1:46:16Kenyon Siddiq top waiver wire guy to go get same with like
- 1:46:22Braylon Allen. Obviously with we don't know how
- 1:46:24so badly Bruce Hollister. So Braylon could be a big player
- 1:46:28to have and then yeah, but Kenyon's went the number one
- 1:46:34waiver target. He's got to be that was a a
- 1:46:37phenomenal game out of him. Mason Taylor's hurt.
- 1:46:42I mean Jeremy Rutgers the second guy behind them.
- 1:46:45So you're going to see I think he's really out of nine.
- 1:46:49Mitchell still dealing with an injury.
- 1:46:51Kenyon sneak might move into the the number 2 pass catcher in
- 1:46:55this offense, but still some concerns for this Lion's
- 1:47:00defense. This was one of those games.
- 1:47:04Yeah. They just had to win it via via
- 1:47:07high scoring matchup. The Jets like doing most of
- 1:47:12their scoring late in this one as well.
- 1:47:14So it was that not necessarily a shootout, but it was a higher
- 1:47:19scoring game. Moving on to what's not a high
- 1:47:27scoring game, the Texans and Colts Colts were able to get
- 1:47:33their first win of the season despite a quiet game on the
- 1:47:38Jonathan Taylor. Their defense played really well
- 1:47:42in this one after struggling in their first two weeks.
- 1:47:47Daniel Jones. The ball security concerns are
- 1:47:52are there for me though. The guy fumble 3 times he lost
- 1:47:56two of them. He threw an interception it's it
- 1:48:05wasn't the prettiest game out of the Danny Dimes.
- 1:48:07He did throw a touchdown to Keenan Allen and got them in
- 1:48:12position to get the game-winning field goal.
- 1:48:16This was this was kind of sloppy on both sides.
- 1:48:20CJ Stroud didn't look very good only 167 yards.
- 1:48:29The Texans backfield is it's so inefficient.
- 1:48:33I mean your leading rusher had 33 yards.
- 1:48:39This is probably the best game we've seen on their defense so
- 1:48:42far this year. They had struggled through the
- 1:48:441st 2 weeks and then the offense just fell off a Cliff.
- 1:48:47So I will remind everybody the Texans did start O and three
- 1:48:53last year. So not necessarily time to hit
- 1:48:57the panic button, but this was a brutal this was a bad division
- 1:49:02loss for them. We'll see if they can get things
- 1:49:06figured out. Let's we want to start seeing
- 1:49:10that soon. The chiefs went to Miami to play
- 1:49:13the Dolphins. No surprise here.
- 1:49:16They come away with a 24 to 10 win.
- 1:49:20The Von A Chan out for the season off or his his ACL.
- 1:49:31I will say I think the heat, the Miami Heat kind of got to the
- 1:49:35Chiefs. They didn't look super.
- 1:49:41They weren't moving the ball up and down the field.
- 1:49:44You said Miami chief? The Miami Heat, like the Heat in
- 1:49:50Miami, very hot down there in September still sorry.
- 1:49:56So well, I mean, ultimately scored 24.
- 1:50:00Mahomes was was very efficient. 2024 did have a pick in there at
- 1:50:06one point. Kenneth Walker probably is his
- 1:50:10worst game as a as a chief, but he still had two touchdowns or
- 1:50:14still had yeah, caught one, ran one in as well.
- 1:50:19So I don't know, the Chiefs kind of just got out to their got out
- 1:50:24to a lead and that just maintained that through a lot of
- 1:50:27the game struggled in the third quarter.
- 1:50:31Couple of big drives though where they did they put this one
- 1:50:34away in the 4th and Miami the the tanking, the tanking is
- 1:50:41going really well for them. Ollie Gordon obviously with the
- 1:50:48HN going down waiver wire target.
- 1:50:51To add though, this was this was a just a sloppy game to watch
- 1:51:02the Nor'easter hitting the the East Coast as an absolute
- 1:51:08monsoon at MetLife Stadium. So not a lot of offense in this
- 1:51:15one. Elements really coming down.
- 1:51:20The Giants get the V12 to seven off of just all field goals here
- 1:51:27and I think I'm I'm really starting to get the panic button
- 1:51:33with this Titans offense. I mean, we just haven't seen
- 1:51:37really anything to to give you a lot of hope.
- 1:51:43Cardinal Tate hasn't had like a a strong showing yet.
- 1:51:49This is probably his best game. Six catches from 158 yards and
- 1:51:54Cam had a bad turnover. To lose this one.
- 1:52:00I mean, threw it right to Javon Holland in the end zone.
- 1:52:06I mean, hey, it might be time to start tanking for Jeremiah
- 1:52:10Smith. I don't imagine you want to move
- 1:52:14on from Cam Ward just yet, but this team is still a long way to
- 1:52:19go before they can really be competitive.
- 1:52:23These are tough conditions for a share, but this was this was a
- 1:52:27pretty bad bad one for them. Hey, giants are two and one,
- 1:52:32though got the victory in the in the monsoon.
- 1:52:38All right, the Cincinnati Bengals couldn't go the three
- 1:52:43and O taking on the arrival of the Pittsburgh Steelers and we
- 1:52:47saw Aaron Rodgers. He has these flashes where
- 1:52:50you're like Dang, unk still got it 3 for 292 and 3 touchdowns.
- 1:52:54The downfield passing it looked great.
- 1:52:57Jalen Warren was awesome in this 117th of 117 carries 127 on the
- 1:53:04ground. It's turning out to be a regular
- 1:53:07Case Keenum. Yeah, you know you Jamar Chase,
- 1:53:12T Higgins, he was Jamar last week that had the insane catch.
- 1:53:16This time was T Higgins with the the wild one.
- 1:53:19Those guys both with not over 90 yards and the touchdown, this
- 1:53:22one, but Joe Burrow, the stat that's going to haunt him.
- 1:53:28He's like one in 34 when he is trailing in the fourth quarter
- 1:53:33and they were trailing in this one and he had the costly strip
- 1:53:39sack turn the ball over and that ended up losing them the game.
- 1:53:44So bit of a higher scoring game by NFC North standards.
- 1:53:48Usually these turn into more defensive battles, but 30 to 27
- 1:53:54Steelers Strands, it's got to be exciting watching your team
- 1:53:56actually put points on the board and get into that painted area
- 1:54:02of the field. And hey, your defense, despite,
- 1:54:06you know, giving up a lot of the yardage through the air and
- 1:54:09giving up 27 points when it mattered the most came through
- 1:54:14Sebastian Joseph Day got the the fumble recovery man.
- 1:54:19Who was it that got that? The strip sack?
- 1:54:23Great move by them, Cole Holcomb I believe it was big victory for
- 1:54:29Pittsburgh though, to get back on track.
- 1:54:33They might find another way. No matter how about this team
- 1:54:36looks that one week they they find a way to come out and get
- 1:54:39the victory count. They're going to do that again.
- 1:54:41They're going to go like 10 and seven and make the playoffs just
- 1:54:44to get blown out in the first round.
- 1:54:46Probably one of the shocks of the weekend, the Commanders down
- 1:54:53to their backup quarterback. Get it done and shock the
- 1:54:58Seattle Seahawks. But I really think it was the
- 1:55:01defense of the Commanders. First of all, controlling the
- 1:55:04line of scrimmage. Seattle, this is a little scary.
- 1:55:09They might be missing Kenneth Walker.
- 1:55:11They were terrible running the football and it all fellow and
- 1:55:15Sam did throw for 379 yards and four touchdowns.
- 1:55:21They also had two interceptions Price fumble early in this one
- 1:55:26and they Mike McDonald didn't want to bring the rookie back
- 1:55:30out there. So the the three turnovers
- 1:55:37created a lot of short fields for the commanders.
- 1:55:41Marcus Mario the man, just one of the better backup
- 1:55:44quarterbacks to have out there. He did pretty good, tossed 3
- 1:55:47touchdowns. And this one you had Kay and
- 1:55:52Moderna who came in for the injured Sonny Styles and
- 1:55:57returned to touchdown 50 yards, got a pick 6 for them.
- 1:56:01So that was a massive play in this one that actually did a
- 1:56:06good job, you know, extended their lead back out to 2 scores.
- 1:56:11And even though Seattle answered pretty quickly, they were able
- 1:56:13to hold on and win this one. So yeah, just Seattle, just the
- 1:56:21defense not didn't play up to their standard and how good
- 1:56:25they've been in the past two weeks, but the offense didn't do
- 1:56:28them any favors. Felt Washington was very
- 1:56:31opportunistic benefiting off of those short fields.
- 1:56:36You know, at least Jason is still awesome. 10 catches for
- 1:56:401/28 and two touchdowns. Best receiver in the league
- 1:56:42without a doubt. All right, I'm going to jump
- 1:56:46down Sunday Night Football just cuz I want to talk about my
- 1:56:48Broncos. I will say it was a bit of a
- 1:56:52definitely a controversial call there with the interception
- 1:56:56getting called, the pass interference, but it was like
- 1:56:59Pat Bryant had his, had his hand up under the DB sleeve.
- 1:57:04But all I'm going to say is Ram stands.
- 1:57:06That's what you guys get for robbing the Saints of going to
- 1:57:08the Super Bowl. You know, look, we, we, we have
- 1:57:12a little group and I I was getting a little upset with
- 1:57:14that. I'm not upset that we got the
- 1:57:17penalty call. Again, it says I'm more upset
- 1:57:20that the NFL riffing. It's it, it's, it's not, it's
- 1:57:28not standard. Like they, they pick and choose
- 1:57:31what they want. You know, for example, when
- 1:57:33you're going on the field and that play minus the other play
- 1:57:38with the other guy. If the ball touches the the
- 1:57:44plate OK and the body is in the air and the body is out of
- 1:57:50bounds, there should not be any difference between being out of
- 1:57:54bounds in the air and being out of bounds on the ground.
- 1:57:59If it breaks the plane, it breaks the plane.
- 1:58:02Well, you're the rule is, is that you're not technically out
- 1:58:05of bounds until you contact the ground out of bounds.
- 1:58:09So that's why being in the air, it doesn't count because you're
- 1:58:12supposed to. You're not, you're technically
- 1:58:15not out of bounds because you haven't touched the ground yet.
- 1:58:19Like as soon as the body part anywhere hits out of bounds,
- 1:58:22that plays over and it's a dead ball.
- 1:58:24That's the rule, so. But I don't see that rule happen
- 1:58:31in every game. It's not consistent but OK, I
- 1:58:36get what you're saying. Yeah, well, like it like both
- 1:58:38foot was was online. It didn't matter.
- 1:58:40We got the touchdown, we got the victory.
- 1:58:45Hofunga man, probably his best game as a Bronco.
- 1:58:47He's still awesome in the run support the two interceptions.
- 1:58:50The pick 6 was just exactly what we needed Riley Moss almost blew
- 1:58:56it for us with his greed, trying to jump around and then just
- 1:58:59getting torched by Kantam Kanata Mumfield.
- 1:59:06But we we we got the victory. We won So and I think PS2 Adams
- 1:59:13got the better from early in the game, but he shut him down late
- 1:59:17in this one. And it was and that was a a big
- 1:59:21difference on why the the Rams didn't look as successfully.
- 1:59:26So well, I'm going to speed around the rest of this because
- 1:59:28I've got one minute. The Eagles get cooked by the
- 1:59:30Bears on Monday Night Football. Case Keenan looked like him.
- 1:59:34The Raiders are three and O after a emphatic Rd. win over
- 1:59:38the Saints. We had the game of the year, I
- 1:59:41think up to this point in Rio de Janeiro.
- 1:59:44Tyler Luke gets the last second field goal and after the Cowboys
- 1:59:47defense, let's say Flowers get across the middle.
- 1:59:52Buccaneers are officially in panic mode as they fall the O
- 1:59:54and three off of the against the Vikings on the road.
- 1:59:58Vikings get Kyler Murray back. The defense still looks sick
- 2:00:01there. Brock, per the enters NVV
- 2:00:04conversations with 297 yards and four touchdowns in the victory.
- 2:00:08Over the Cardinals and the Jacksonville Jaguars absolutely
- 2:00:13smash the Patriots 35 to 6. Panic mode on Drake May.
- 2:00:17He has 6 turnovers and one touchdown.
- 2:00:21To this point on the year, that offense is broken, absolutely
- 2:00:27broken. Well, that's going to do it for
- 2:00:29me today. Ladies and gentlemen, thanks for
- 2:00:31watching another edition of The Final Time Out.
