Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: 106.7 Light FM, all your variety from the 80s through today.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Here's our crew. It's Cubby, Christine, and producer Kristen, and
- 0:07Speaker 1: we're here for the long haul. Well, at least until
- 0:09Speaker 1: 10 o'clock this morning. Okay. When we get the heck
- 0:11Speaker 1: out of New York. We say escape from New York
- 0:13Speaker 1: every single day. Yeah. We love New York City. Don't
- 0:15Speaker 1: get me wrong, but man, do we love leaving.
- 0:17Speaker 2: The traffic sometimes is crazy, and it's the UN General Assembly, so.
- 0:22Speaker 1: It's right in our backyard.
- 0:23Speaker 2: So go west. Head west.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Head, yes.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Head west, young man.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Head west, young man.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I don't know where that comes from, but anyway, that's
- 0:29Speaker 2: what we need to do today. Just if you don't
- 0:32Speaker 2: have to drive, obviously.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Not a good day for it.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Take mass transit.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Yes.
- 0:35Speaker 2: And don't take the sewers.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 0:37Speaker 2: What is going on with that?
- 0:38Speaker 1: Have they figured that out? No. There's like people coming
- 0:41Speaker 1: out of sewers.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:43Speaker 1: On the Upper East Side.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Right.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I mean. They have video of it.
- 0:45Speaker 2: They have video of it.
- 0:46Speaker 1: They don't know who they are.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Nope. Or where they ran off to exactly.
- 0:49Speaker 1: They're not workers.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Mm-mm.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I mean, you have to double check, actually, if they're
- 0:54Speaker 1: bad people. I mean, they probably are bad people, but
- 0:56Speaker 1: what are they doing down there?
- 0:57Speaker 2: What are they doing down there? You know, the NYPD
- 0:59Speaker 2: is reminding you it's dangerous. There's chemicals down there. There's
- 1:03Speaker 2: possible flooding. Like, don't do that.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Forget the chemicals. You know what I think about?
- 1:06Speaker 3: What?
- 1:07Speaker 1: Like, I picture, like, just seeing a ton of rats
- 1:09Speaker 1: down there. Oh, yeah. Like opening up a manhole cover?
- 1:11Speaker 1: That's all I visualize.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Have you ever ridden the subway?
- 1:14Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you see them there. That's very true. Well,
- 1:17Speaker 1: happy September 24th. You know, it'll be New Year's. No,
- 1:20Speaker 1: not New Year's. It'll be Christmas Eve in three months.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Three months from Christmas Eve.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Okie dokie.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Are you ready, Christine? Bring it on, baby.
- 1:27Speaker 2: No, I am not.
- 1:28Speaker 1: We'll talk about things in the more immediate future, like
- 1:31Speaker 1: everyone talking about this Nor'easter.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Should we be panicking, Cubby? I don't think so.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I really don't. You know, I think it's going to
- 1:37Speaker 1: be just a rainy... Raw Saturday. Okay. I think if
- 1:42Speaker 1: you're on the coast, it could be hazardous. There's going
- 1:46Speaker 1: to be a lot of wind and rain for a
- 1:48Speaker 1: long duration, which is not good for if you're a
- 1:50Speaker 1: flood prone area. So I think if you're on the
- 1:52Speaker 1: immediate coast, there could be some big issues. But I
- 1:55Speaker 1: think for the most part, this is just me right
- 1:57Speaker 1: now as we speak, it'll just be a rainy blah
- 2:01Speaker 1: day Saturday.
- 2:02Speaker 2: We'll be able to do our stuff like if we're
- 2:04Speaker 2: going to the theater.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I wouldn't say don't travel.
- 2:06Speaker 2: We're going to a con or something like that. We
- 2:09Speaker 2: can we can go.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Speaking of the con, yes, I say get out there
- 2:12Speaker 1: on Saturday. Just maybe a little slow.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I don't think we're going to be stifled and we
- 2:17Speaker 1: can't move. Okay. But, yeah, producer Kristen and her hubby
- 2:21Speaker 1: Ryan and a bunch of other people are putting together
- 2:24Speaker 1: a horror con. And it's happening in New Jersey. And
- 2:27Speaker 1: we're going to tell you all about that coming up next.
- 2:29Speaker 1: But it's a great event, including Susan Sarandon, just to
- 2:33Speaker 1: name a few.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Who will be there. You can meet Susan Sarandon.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Oh, that is really cool. Rocky Horror fans.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Get out there this weekend. We'll tell you all about
- 2:41Speaker 1: it coming up after this break here at Light FM.
- 2:43Speaker 4: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I need to tell you two things.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Covey and Christine's. Two pretty cool things. Saturday and Sunday,
- 2:57Speaker 1: it's going to be a great day for a horror con.
- 2:59Speaker 1: We're very excited for our producer, Kristen.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I know, this is great.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And her hubby, Ryan. They put together New Jersey Horror Con,
- 3:06Speaker 1: a film festival. It's happening this weekend, September 25th through
- 3:10Speaker 1: the 27th at the Delta Hotels in Woodbridge. That's in, no,
- 3:14Speaker 1: Delta Hotels Woodbridge in Island, New Jersey. There we go.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It's a three-day horror convention. filled with celebrity guests, vendors
- 3:22Speaker 1: to shop from. You got films, you got cosplay, you
- 3:25Speaker 1: got panels and more. And featured guests, check this out,
- 3:29Speaker 1: Susan Sarandon from Rocky Horror Picture Show. She'll be there.
- 3:33Speaker 1: You can meet her. You got Dee Wallace. She's the
- 3:36Speaker 1: mom in E.T. There's a Chucky reunion, along with many
- 3:40Speaker 1: other horror stars and filmmakers. Go to njhorrorcon.com for tickets
- 3:46Speaker 1: and more info. That's njhorrorcon.com. for tickets and more info.
- 3:50Speaker 1: My wife and the kids and I went last year.
- 3:53Speaker 1: And we were kind of blown away. We'd never been
- 3:55Speaker 1: to one.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Oh.
- 3:56Speaker 1: And it's just a lot of fun.
- 3:57Speaker 2: It is so much fun, right?
- 3:59Speaker 1: And cool things to buy there.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Little stores and booths.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Experiences.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yes. Wonderful. So, again, Delta Hotels, Woodbridge, and Islin, New Jersey.
- 4:08Speaker 1: All right. What's your cool thing, Christine?
- 4:10Speaker 2: Well, Cubby, if you're like me and you're feeling a
- 4:13Speaker 2: little addicted to your phone, a psychotherapist recommends switching your
- 4:18Speaker 2: display to grayscale. which removes the bright colors that make
- 4:23Speaker 2: apps and notifications feel more visually stimulating. So this doctor
- 4:28Speaker 2: is saying the change can make your phone less rewarding
- 4:30Speaker 2: to look at and may help people cut back on
- 4:33Speaker 2: screen time, though adjusting to the duller display can take
- 4:37Speaker 2: a little getting used to. The setting is typically found
- 4:39Speaker 2: under accessibility and display options on your phone.
- 4:43Speaker 1: It's worth a try because we're all buried in our phone.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:46Speaker 1: All right, we're coming right back with more variety from
- 4:48Speaker 1: the 80s through today.
- 4:49Speaker 4: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 4:54Speaker 1: There's some exciting news about the Rockettes. It's 106.7 Light FM. Cubby, Christine,
- 4:59Speaker 1: producer Kristen. You know, I mentioned earlier that we're three
- 5:02Speaker 1: months away from Christmas Eve today. Three months away.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:07Speaker 1: But exciting new elements have been added to the 2026
- 5:10Speaker 1: Christmas Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes. We just learned this.
- 5:15Speaker 1: To ring in the next century of the Rockettes, the
- 5:18Speaker 1: show will feature a brand new Rockettes performance number and
- 5:21Speaker 1: new immersive camera technology that bring audiences and everybody even
- 5:27Speaker 1: closer to the magic and precision. So we'll be closer
- 5:30Speaker 1: to it when we're on stage bringing them on.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I know.
- 5:32Speaker 2: This sounds really beautiful, too.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Yeah. The new number, Ring, will feature the Rockettes performing
- 5:39Speaker 1: powerful contemporary tap. by Emmy Award-nominated choreographer Chloe Arnold, bringing
- 5:44Speaker 1: a modern twist to the holiday show. Plus, I'm hearing
- 5:47Speaker 1: every number of the production will integrate multiple onstage cameras
- 5:51Speaker 1: that capture overhead, side, and front angles of the Rockettes
- 5:56Speaker 1: and display them in real time on screens flanking the stage,
- 6:01Speaker 1: expanding how audiences see the incredible precision and choreography in
- 6:05Speaker 1: the show, something they couldn't do in 1934. Mm-hmm. 1954, 1984.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I mean, this is top-notch technology right here.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Right. So we've got that and all the beautiful traditions
- 6:17Speaker 2: that they bring. And the tickets are already on sale.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I mean, they have been. It's better to get them
- 6:23Speaker 2: now so you get to go when you want to
- 6:25Speaker 2: go see the Rockettes.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yes, don't wait until December or whatever.
- 6:29Speaker 2: And then call me because I can't do anything about it.
- 6:31Speaker 1: This is kind of like entertainment news here with this
- 6:35Speaker 1: Rockettes announcement.
- 6:36Speaker 2: This new number sounds really, really exciting.
- 6:38Speaker 1: And you have more news, this one regarding Taylor Swift.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Well, come on, of course. Swift to you. Yes, I know.
- 6:45Speaker 2: This happened yesterday after the show, Cubby, because remember we
- 6:49Speaker 2: were talking about it during the show that we know
- 6:51Speaker 2: Taylor has a new song coming out tomorrow. It's called
- 6:53Speaker 2: Patient Zero. And we're waiting for that. And then after
- 6:58Speaker 2: the show, we learned that Taylor is expanding the life
- 7:01Speaker 2: of a showgirl with a new deluxe edition. It's called
- 7:05Speaker 2: The Life of a Showgirl, the encore and the new songs.
- 7:08Speaker 2: It's going to feature four new songs. The previously announced
- 7:12Speaker 2: Patient Zero, as well as Cleveland, Pink Clouding and Babylon.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Those are all titles.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Those are all titles. Taylor said what happened was this
- 7:21Speaker 2: was born out of pure gratitude for fan support because
- 7:25Speaker 2: Life of a Showgirl came out a year ago. It
- 7:27Speaker 2: went to number one. And she was so happy and
- 7:30Speaker 2: working with her collaborators. They did a celebratory trip to Sweden.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And she said, hey, there's a studio nearby and this
- 7:39Speaker 2: is what we do. We write songs. So why not
- 7:41Speaker 2: go in there and spread the joy and how they
- 7:44Speaker 2: were feeling in that moment and write some new songs
- 7:46Speaker 2: and Here we have it.
- 7:47Speaker 1: So you'll buy another album that will have the same
- 7:50Speaker 1: tracks but four more? Yes.
- 7:52Speaker 2: The Life of the Showgirl, the Encore.
- 7:55Speaker 1: The Encore.
- 7:55Speaker 2: The four new songs.
- 7:56Speaker 1: But when you get the Encore, you're still going to
- 7:59Speaker 1: get the songs you already own.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Yes.
- 8:02Speaker 1: In addition to the four more. Right. She couldn't just
- 8:04Speaker 1: put out a CD with just four of them?
- 8:06Speaker 4: No.
- 8:08Speaker 2: No, she could not. No, we need this.
- 8:10Speaker 1: We need duplicate copies of Ophelia.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Well, have you seen the... Ophelia's not on this one. Oh,
- 8:15Speaker 2: is it?
- 8:15Speaker 1: Which one? Oh, yes, it is.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I'm so sorry.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Is it Opalite?
- 8:18Speaker 2: No, Opalite.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Opalite. Is Opalite not on there? Yeah, that's on there, right?
- 8:22Speaker 1: I'm getting.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. My tailor brain's getting scrambled.
- 8:25Speaker 1: There are so many songs.
- 8:27Speaker 2: It's on there.
- 8:27Speaker 1: The Fate of Ophelia is on there, right?
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yes, it is.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I'm not even sure.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 8:32Speaker 1: So you're going to have two versions. We have two
- 8:35Speaker 1: copies of The fate of Ophelia. And you have four
- 8:37Speaker 1: new songs. Okay.
- 8:39Speaker 2: But did you see the cover? She looks gorgeous.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I did not actually.
- 8:41Speaker 2: You need the artwork, too, because the photography is like,
- 8:44Speaker 2: she looks stunning.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:45Speaker 1: So you're excited. Yes.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Are we going to?
- 8:49Speaker 1: Come on.
- 8:49Speaker 2: We're going to celebrate tomorrow, right?
- 8:51Speaker 1: Should I wear a tutu?
- 8:52Speaker 3: A tutu.
- 8:55Speaker 1: What could I wear to celebrate Taylor Swift?
- 8:56Speaker 2: Well, she's got this short, sparkly dress on.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I'll wear it.
- 9:00Speaker 2: On the cover of this.
- 9:01Speaker 1: And we'll be playing Patient Zero tomorrow morning, right around
- 9:03Speaker 1: this time. Light FM.
- 9:05Speaker 4: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Here we go. The conversation we have twice a year.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Daylight saving time. Yes. Do we stay all year round
- 9:17Speaker 1: on this time or do we stay on standard time?
- 9:21Speaker 2: Because we'll be falling back pretty soon.
- 9:23Speaker 1: And they're still talking about it, like what they're going
- 9:25Speaker 1: to do?
- 9:25Speaker 2: This is serious. Like, yes, in the White House, so
- 9:29Speaker 2: to speak, House lawmakers and nearly 20 states want to
- 9:33Speaker 2: stop switching the clocks back in the fall and keep
- 9:36Speaker 2: it where it is right now. That means we would
- 9:39Speaker 2: be permanent daylight savings.
- 9:42Speaker 1: All right, permanent. Yes. What we are right now.
- 9:44Speaker 2: They don't want to fall back.
- 9:45Speaker 1: We're not going to fall back.
- 9:46Speaker 2: They want to leave it where it is. So experts
- 9:48Speaker 2: are saying not a good idea because schools and students
- 9:52Speaker 2: would suffer the most with that because the sunrise after
- 9:56Speaker 2: 8 a.m., they said, would be an issue, especially for kids,
- 9:59Speaker 2: for educators. for everybody trying to get to the schools
- 10:02Speaker 2: in the morning. We have a Rutgers University psychology professor,
- 10:06Speaker 2: Jessica Hamilton, who says if you're going to keep one time, like,
- 10:10Speaker 2: you know, we don't do the switch back and forth,
- 10:13Speaker 2: it should be standard time. which would be what we
- 10:16Speaker 2: would fall back to. Because she said we really need
- 10:19Speaker 2: to be aligning our clocks and our bodies to the sun,
- 10:22Speaker 2: which promotes our health, and making a permanent daylight savings
- 10:25Speaker 2: time actually is likely to harm the health and well-being
- 10:28Speaker 2: of young people and adults.
- 10:30Speaker 4: All right.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Well, I did some research. Yes, sir. If we do
- 10:33Speaker 1: fall back and then stay that way forever, I'll give
- 10:37Speaker 1: you an example. On June 21st, the first day of summer,
- 10:41Speaker 1: the sun would rise at 4.27 a.m. and set at
- 10:42Speaker 1: 7.31 a.m.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:47Speaker 1: In wintertime, the sun would rise at 7.17 a.m. and
- 10:52Speaker 1: set at 4.34.
- 10:52Speaker 2: That's what we're looking at. That's what we're coming up on, right?
- 10:57Speaker 2: That's standard.
- 10:58Speaker 1: If we go back to standard and stay that way,
- 10:59Speaker 1: that's standard. Now, if we stay at eastern daylight time,
- 11:03Speaker 1: where we are now all the time, that means the
- 11:06Speaker 1: first day of summer, the sun would rise at 5.27 a.m.
- 11:09Speaker 1: and set at 8.31 p.m. Not too bad. And then
- 11:12Speaker 1: wintertime is where it might be a little tough. The
- 11:15Speaker 1: sun rises at 8.17 a.m. here in New York on
- 11:18Speaker 1: the first day of winter. And it'll set at 5.34 p.m.,
- 11:22Speaker 1: which isn't bad. It's not 4.30. It's 5.34. I don't know.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Which one do you like if you had to pick?
- 11:27Speaker 2: Standard.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Standard.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Standard. Yeah, standard. Standard seems... Look, the sun rises at
- 11:34Speaker 1: 4.27 on standard a.m. And it would set at 7.31
- 11:38Speaker 1: on the first day of summer. And then if we
- 11:40Speaker 1: stay on standard, again, it'll be 7.17 a.m. sunrise here. 4.30,
- 11:44Speaker 1: 4 p.m. sunset on the first day of winter.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's what we're going to get anyway.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Anyway, yeah.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Right, because we're going to fall back. At least this year,
- 11:53Speaker 2: we're going to fall back.
- 11:54Speaker 1: All right, so our vote is when we fall back
- 11:55Speaker 1: in November this year, keep it standard.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Just leave it.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Or do we stay all day?
- 12:00Speaker 2: I don't know, because what you're saying right now makes
- 12:03Speaker 2: me think like, okay, that's why we do a time switch,
- 12:05Speaker 2: because a 4.27 a.m. sunrise in the summer.
- 12:10Speaker 1: That'll be, yeah, that sun coming through. I don't care
- 12:12Speaker 1: if you have blackout shades. Yeah, no. Sometimes sun gets
- 12:15Speaker 1: through there.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Yes, it works its way through.
- 12:17Speaker 1: All right, text us and we'll send your votes to
- 12:19Speaker 1: the White House. Yes, exactly. And we'll let them know
- 12:21Speaker 1: what you want to do.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Do you want to keep doing the time warp? Do
- 12:24Speaker 2: you want to switch back and forth?
- 12:26Speaker 3: Right.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Or do you want to leave it? here or leave
- 12:29Speaker 2: it at standard time?
- 12:31Speaker 1: What do we do?
- 12:31Speaker 2: So many decisions.
- 12:32Speaker 1: You can text us at 44363. And the news is
- 12:36Speaker 1: coming up, Christine.
- 12:37Speaker 3: It is.
- 12:37Speaker 2: So we've got the headlines and we have the age-old question,
- 12:40Speaker 2: can money buy happiness?
- 12:41Speaker 4: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Good morning, Christine.
- 12:47Speaker 2: And good morning, Covey. And just a heads up again
- 12:49Speaker 2: with the weather, we are preparing for a nor'easter headed
- 12:52Speaker 2: our direction. But Covey, you're saying mainly just a wind
- 12:56Speaker 2: and rain event.
- 12:57Speaker 1: It's going to be a nasty day, don't get me wrong.
- 12:58Speaker 1: We'll be okay. But I don't think we're going to
- 13:01Speaker 1: be stifled at home or anything, but we'll have more
- 13:04Speaker 1: on this later.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Good to know. So it's Friday evening into the weekend.
- 13:07Speaker 1: You nailed it.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Okay. Here in town, of course, we've got the UN
- 13:10Speaker 2: General Assembly underway. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set
- 13:15Speaker 2: to address the UN around 2 o'clock this afternoon, and
- 13:19Speaker 2: there are some protests that are planned in the area.
- 13:21Speaker 2: So once again, gridlock alert. Take it seriously. Don't try
- 13:26Speaker 2: and drive in town, especially heading over to the east side.
- 13:29Speaker 2: NYPD investigating whether another incident of people emerging from the
- 13:34Speaker 2: sewer tunnels on the Upper East Side has anything to
- 13:37Speaker 2: do with the U.N. because it was in that area
- 13:41Speaker 2: that those people were seen, and so far they haven't
- 13:43Speaker 2: caught up with them. Three media outlets banned from the
- 13:46Speaker 2: White House by President Trump will have their access temporarily restored.
- 13:51Speaker 2: This was an overnight ruling. A federal judge said CNN, MSNOW,
- 13:55Speaker 2: And Politico journalists must have their credentials returned and block
- 13:59Speaker 2: the ban from being enforced for at least 14 days.
- 14:04Speaker 2: A very important day today. It's Remember Me Thursday, a
- 14:07Speaker 2: day dedicated to pets in the shelter, which means a
- 14:09Speaker 2: good day to adopt or volunteer at your local shelter.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Always adopt if you can.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Keep those little loving beings in mind, yes. In sports, baseball,
- 14:17Speaker 2: the Yankees beat the Rays 9-2. Mets defeated the Rangers 7-2.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Football tonight, the Falcons will play the Packers at 8-15.
- 14:25Speaker 2: It is official that Jackson Dart is out for the season.
- 14:29Speaker 2: The Giants have let us know. All right. We're always asking,
- 14:32Speaker 2: can money buy you happiness? Long-term happiness, according to experts,
- 14:37Speaker 2: is fleeting no matter what your bank account looks like.
- 14:40Speaker 2: But short-term bursts are definitely there. They just say spend wisely.
- 14:46Speaker 2: So if you buy yourself an experience like a concert
- 14:49Speaker 2: or a vacation, that is linked to greater happiness than
- 14:52Speaker 2: material purchases. But maybe most importantly, people who spend money
- 14:56Speaker 2: on others have proven to be much happier than those
- 14:59Speaker 2: who spend money just on themselves. So do yourself a
- 15:02Speaker 2: favor and buy happiness for someone else.
- 15:04Speaker 1: It does make you feel good.
- 15:06Speaker 2: It does, yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 1: If you won the lottery, like say you won like
- 15:08Speaker 1: $ 120 million. Oh, sweet. Would you buy me and Chris
- 15:11Speaker 1: in a house?
- 15:12Speaker 2: We'd all be set.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Of course I would hook you guys up.
- 15:15Speaker 4: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 15:20Speaker 1: You pretty good at trivia?
- 15:22Speaker 4: Light FM's Trivia Battle.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Okie dokie, Christine. Already Thursday. Time for a trivia battle.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Let me introduce you to Team Cubby's contestant, John from Brooklyn. John,
- 15:33Speaker 1: good morning. First time you've ever played before. Tell us
- 15:37Speaker 1: what you do for a living.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Yes, it is my first time. How's it going? I'm
- 15:41Speaker 3: actually a VP of Accounting for Bo Dietl & Associates.
- 15:46Speaker 1: All right. Heading to work or working from home? What's
- 15:48Speaker 1: the deal?
- 15:49Speaker 3: Well, I'm going to be on my way to work
- 15:50Speaker 3: right now, so I was pretty lucky to get on today.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Well, let's see if you win, and then you hit
- 15:56Speaker 1: the road and go to work. But who's his competition, Christine?
- 15:59Speaker 2: Honor in Dumont. Good morning, Honor.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Good morning.
- 16:02Speaker 2: And how about you? What do you do for a living?
- 16:04Speaker 4: I am a grants coordinator for a public school district.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Wow. You both have, like, really cool jobs.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Like important jobs.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Important jobs, right. Well, good luck to you both. John,
- 16:15Speaker 1: you're going to get three questions about pop culture. Honor,
- 16:18Speaker 1: you'll get three questions, and the best out of three
- 16:20Speaker 1: wins our trivia battle. So, John and Team Cubby, here
- 16:22Speaker 1: we go. Your question, John, which Harry Potter character did
- 16:28Speaker 1: Tom Felton play? Was it A, Harry Potter, B, Ron Weasley,
- 16:33Speaker 1: or C, Draco Malfoy?
- 16:38Speaker 3: Can you repeat that or no? A.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Harry Potter, B, Ron Weasley, or C, Draco Malfoy?
- 16:43Speaker 3: I'm going to say, I don't know, B? B.
- 16:49Speaker 1: No, it's actually C, Draco Malfoy. That's the Harry Potter
- 16:52Speaker 1: character that Tom Felton played.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I'm not a big Harry Potter fan.
- 16:55Speaker 1: You know what? I'm kind of lukewarm on it, too.
- 16:57Speaker 1: But no score. Okay.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Honor, here we go. Which celebrity has not been spotted
- 17:03Speaker 2: at a game with Taylor Swift? A, Caitlin Clark, B,
- 17:07Speaker 2: Hugh Jackman, or C, Paul Rudd?
- 17:10Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I know it's tough.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Hugh Jackman.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I'm sorry. It's actually C, Paul Rudd. And I'm a Swifty.
- 17:21Speaker 2: It's a tough one.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Paul Rudd, one of the few people that has
- 17:24Speaker 1: never been to a game with Taylor Swift. All right, John,
- 17:26Speaker 1: question number two for you. Two college football teams ranked
- 17:31Speaker 1: in the top ten have already lost a game this season.
- 17:34Speaker 1: One is Ohio State. Can you tell me the other team?
- 17:38Speaker 1: Is it A, Georgia, B, Indiana, or C, LSU?
- 17:44Speaker 3: Man, what is that? What is that?
- 17:48Speaker 1: Three seconds.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I think, okay, Ohio State you said, right?
- 17:54Speaker 4: LSU.
- 17:54Speaker 1: What are we going to do, judges? What should I do?
- 17:57Speaker 3: I'll give it to them.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Give it to them. Honor says give it to him.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Wow, Honor wants to get off the phone.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Okay. All right. No.
- 18:05Speaker 1: I just would have wanted credit for that. Okay. That's
- 18:08Speaker 1: nice of you.
- 18:09Speaker 2: That is really nice of you.
- 18:10Speaker 1: The answer is LSU, and John is up 1-0. Okay,
- 18:13Speaker 1: over to Honor.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Honor, let's tie it up here. Which Yankees player is
- 18:16Speaker 2: not expected to play in the 2026 Wild Card Series
- 18:20Speaker 2: due to an injury? A, Aaron Judge, B, Giancarlo Stanton,
- 18:25Speaker 2: or C, Anthony Volpe?
- 18:26Speaker 4: Aaron Judge.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Aaron Judge.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Yes, we got it.
- 18:31Speaker 1: John, your final question. What band is featured on Beavis'
- 18:36Speaker 1: shirt from Beavis and Butthead? What band is on Beavis' shirt?
- 18:42Speaker 1: We all have the visual. Is that you? That was you?
- 18:44Speaker 1: That's me. Is it A, Metallica, B, ACDC, or C, Nirvana?
- 18:49Speaker 3: For Beavis, it is ACDC. A, CDC.
- 18:56Speaker 1: No! Beavis has a Metallica shirt on.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:01Speaker 1: So Honor can win it right here.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Honor, let's go. What's the name of Sabrina's cat on
- 19:05Speaker 2: Sabrina the Teenage Witch? Is it A, Binx, B, Salem,
- 19:09Speaker 2: or C, Sassy?
- 19:12Speaker 1: It is B, Salem.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Yes!
- 19:15Speaker 3: It is.
- 19:16Speaker 1: We got it.
- 19:17Speaker 2: All right, John, you did a great job. You can
- 19:20Speaker 2: always call us again.
- 19:21Speaker 4: Yes.
- 19:21Speaker 1: And, Honor, you pulled it off.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Yay.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Yay.
- 19:25Speaker 2: So, Honor, you're going to see Journey Sunday, October 25th
- 19:28Speaker 2: at Prudential Center. Congratulations.
- 19:30Speaker 4: That's amazing.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 19:33Speaker 4: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 19:37Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Cubby, Christine and Kristen. And it is that time of
- 19:41Speaker 1: the week because there's a football game tonight. NFL football
- 19:44Speaker 1: week three kicks off tonight. We have to do our
- 19:48Speaker 1: survivor pool picks.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Yes.
- 19:50Speaker 1: For those that don't know, I'll recap it. A survivor pool,
- 19:54Speaker 1: also called an eliminator or knockout pool, it requires you
- 19:57Speaker 1: to pick one team to win their game outright each week.
- 20:00Speaker 1: And if that team loses, you are immediately eliminated. Except
- 20:05Speaker 1: us three.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:06Speaker 1: We're playing with, you can play with up to two strikes.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I know. Last year it was three. I like that better,
- 20:10Speaker 2: but okay.
- 20:11Speaker 1: We lowered it, but you're doing fine, Christine.
- 20:13Speaker 2: No, I'm not.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Kristen.
- 20:14Speaker 3: No. She.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Kristen and I each have a strike.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Oh, what am I thinking?
- 20:17Speaker 3: Dude.
- 20:17Speaker 1: What am I thinking? You both have a strike.
- 20:18Speaker 2: We're living on the edge.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Oh, so this week is very important.
- 20:21Speaker 2: It's crucial.
- 20:21Speaker 1: You could be out this week. Yeah. Because I knew
- 20:24Speaker 1: Kristen had one. I forgot you had a strike too.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Woo.
- 20:26Speaker 1: All right. So I'm the only guy sitting pretty with
- 20:29Speaker 1: no strikes. How you doing?
- 20:30Speaker 2: Nice, huh?
- 20:31Speaker 3: All right. All right.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I'll let you go first. Ladies first.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Christine.
- 20:34Speaker 2: My pick for this week?
- 20:35Speaker 1: Your pick. You haven't picked this team, have you? Of
- 20:37Speaker 1: course not, because you can't pick them twice.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I can't pick them twice.
- 20:40Speaker 1: All right.
- 20:41Speaker 2: So this week I am going with the Buffalo Bills
- 20:44Speaker 2: over the Chargers.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Not bad. Not bad.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 20:48Speaker 1: All right. Producer Kristen, because she is not allowed to
- 20:52Speaker 1: speak due to contractual agreement, she picks Chiefs over Dolphins.
- 21:01Speaker 1: That's almost a lock. Okay. Chiefs over Dolphins.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Like Taylor's husband.
- 21:08Speaker 1: You should be picking Kansas City, Christine.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Actually, yes.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I'm a Taylor fan. But if the Chiefs get upset
- 21:15Speaker 1: by the Dolphins, then Kristen is done for the year.
- 21:18Speaker 1: I am going with tonight's game, believe it or not.
- 21:21Speaker 1: When tonight's over, I'll be done with Lauren.
- 21:23Speaker 2: You don't have to worry about a thing.
- 21:25Speaker 1: I am taking the Green Bay Packers over the Atlanta Falcons. Tonight,
- 21:30Speaker 1: that game is in Green Bay.
- 21:32Speaker 2: What if the Falcons win?
- 21:33Speaker 1: Well, then I have one strike.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 21:35Speaker 1: And then we're all tied. Let's see. But I'm still
- 21:37Speaker 1: in it.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Okay.
- 21:38Speaker 1: All right, there we go. Good luck, everybody. We have
- 21:40Speaker 1: a prize for you right now for listening. It's 1-800-222-1067.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Caller 10, what do you win?
- 21:46Speaker 2: A pair of tickets to see Lifehouse, Tuesday, October 20th
- 21:49Speaker 2: at Gramercy Theater. Tickets available now at Ticketmaster.com or you
- 21:52Speaker 2: give us a call.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Good luck.
