What was your age and the best year of your life so far? Hmm. I'm gonna say 30. And my daughter was born just before that. That'll give you a hint on that. who is your favorite musical artist? Talking Heads. Where would you most like to travel? I would like to go to Oahu, Hawaii. What person has inspired you the most? My daughter Raegan If you could have an entirely different profession, what would it be? I would be a forensic scientist. What are you grateful for? Another day. Do you love yourself? Ben Dorfman: Like this. Deb Snyder: Who is your favorite musical artist? Ben Dorfman: Right now I like a a group called Stick Figure. They're kind of like a Hawaiian reggae kind of mello band. Yeah. Deb Snyder: fun. Now where would you most like to travel? Ben Dorfman: Right now we have Tahiti on our list. We're part of a Tahiti dance and drum group, so that's yeah. Deb Snyder: that sounds like a blast, Tahiti. Beautiful. What person has inspired you the most? Ben Dorfman: man. I the first one that comes to my mind is a person named Warren. He was like my very first mentor of sorts. And he was the person I had met here in Seattle when I first came and moved here to Seattle. And he had his this book group called the present moment reading book group, where we we read out loud together and discussed in the in the moment and just kind of awakened me being with him and seeing his vulnerability. Yeah. Deb Snyder: that's powerful when we meet someone like that. They shift it all. Ben Dorfman: Totally Deb Snyder: Now, if you could have an entirely different profession, what would it be? Ben Dorfman: I always thought it'd be fun to be like a a handyman, a construction worker, 'cause I I've always wanted those skill sets to to fix the house and to build things and I never really learned that stuff, only through YouTube. And so I thought although it sounds like very hard work, but that'd be cool to know. Yeah. Deb Snyder: Now what are you grateful for? Ben Dorfman: man, I'm grateful for my family and my my kids and and all the community that we get to experience, especially via my wife who's a very community oriented person. So yeah, including the island that we do the retreats at, that's a shared community space. I just am grateful to have those connections. Yeah. Do you love yourself? Deb Snyder: Fabulous. Do you love yourself? Ben Dorfman: I do love myself, yeah. I I've I'm grateful to to be in that position to to have healed that much. Deb Snyder: Wonderful. What do you most regret? Ben Dorfman: Ooh man, what do I most regret? I think I regret at times not being fully in the moment, getting caught up in fears and anxieties and trying to prepare for the future as if I knew the future when I really didn't know the future and I missed out, I think, on just really enjoying and having more fun and and lightness and lots of different moments in the past. Deb Snyder: Now, in a word or two, what is your advice for your fellow humans? Ben Dorfman: Trust your heart. Yeah. Deb Snyder: Very good. Ben Dorfman, thank you so much for being with us. Deb Snyder: Do you love yourself? Beth Lynch: Absolutely. Deb Snyder: Hmm. What do you most regret? Beth Lynch: Not understanding this earlier in life, in my teens, and understanding the Spirit and the self as one. 'Cause younger Deb Snyder: Very good. Are you ready for your 10QQ? maya: I'm ready. Deb Snyder: All right. Do you believe in the afterlife? maya: Yes. Deb Snyder: What was your age in the best year of your life so far? maya: That one I'm going to say age twenty. Deb Snyder: Who is your favorite musical artist? maya: My favorite musical artist is Justin Hayward. Deb Snyder: Where would you most like to travel? maya: to Bali again. Deb Snyder: What person inspired you the most? maya: My grandmother Deb Snyder: If you could have an entirely different profession, what would it be? maya: I would be a musician. Deb Snyder: What are you grateful for? maya: I am so grateful that I got fired from that job in whatever year it was, nineteen ninety-nine, and Deb Snyder: That's right. maya: that I have this amazing, beautiful career that is the greatest blessing that I could ever ask for. Deb Snyder: Do you love yourself? maya: I do. Deb Snyder: What do you most regret? maya: So I've given short answers, you know, up up till this. I have I think two regrets and but they're both around death. they're around death of a family member. so it was actually not being present when my grandmother passed, because I think I mentioned her as, you know, one of my favorite or one of my most influential people in my life. she truly was. It was my grandmother that got me into astrology. And I was wrapped up in a boyfriend, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, at her passing. And I was not present. And it's a huge regret. I have the same regret, only slightly different, about my son, my son passing. My son and I were not on good terms, when he passed. I had made an effort to reconciliation. He didn't want anything to do with it, but I wish I had tried harder, but it's a it's a deep regret. Deb Snyder: Now in a word or two, what is your advice for fellow humans? maya: My advice for fellow humans is Trust your own inner wisdom. And I am saying this because I actually yesterday attended a, I'm gonna call, let's call it a spiritually based workshop. I'll leave it at that without getting too specific. But it was a day-long presentation about a acknowledged spiritual tradition. But honestly, Deb, I left that feeling like I was unhappy that there was some type of outside spiritual authority that was still trying to tell me how to think, how to be, how to feel, how to run my life. And it just left me at the end of the day like emphatic that no, you know, we know what's right and wrong. And there can be I'm not anti-religion, I am very much into knowing and owning and trusting your own personal spiritual value. Deb Snyder: Powerful advice, Maya. Thank you so much for that. Now before I let you go, Shelley, I have something that I'm having every single guest that's on. we end each section with what we call rare mediums ten QQ. these are ten quick questions. the same ten questions I'm asking every single guest for an immediate response. no explanation, just a response.
