- 0:04Speaker 1: I smelled Jimmy, Ladies and gentlemen, don't count your chicken
- 0:12Speaker 1: before the hatch.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Are you not entertained?
- 0:15Speaker 1: Jimmy, you miss you died. You're not gonna make it.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Darryl and Hard Jr.
- 0:20Speaker 3: He said, Darryl Jenior, get him out of here. What's
- 0:25Speaker 3: wrong with him?
- 0:25Speaker 4: Depot?
- 0:31Speaker 5: Thank you, and just like that, Shaq wins a free
- 0:35Speaker 5: throw contest. Jimmy one of the greatest drivers of all time.
- 0:43Speaker 5: Jimmy Johnson joins us. Now you want to talk trash?
- 0:46Speaker 3: What happened?
- 0:47Speaker 1: Jimmy is a good friend of mine. I will never
- 0:48Speaker 1: talk trash. It was friendly competition. Being that I won
- 0:52Speaker 1: that match, I got to design the car that he
- 0:54Speaker 1: will be driving at the daytone of five hundred. My
- 0:57Speaker 1: first question, jim I know you're a great driver, but
- 1:00Speaker 1: do you ever say to yourself, like, for example, if
- 1:01Speaker 1: I'm driving Evince gets too close, you ever said to yourself,
- 1:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna push them against a wall? Or is that
- 1:07Speaker 1: against the rules?
- 1:09Speaker 3: It turns out it's against the rules, but I have
- 1:11Speaker 3: thought about it quite often. My wife really doesn't like
- 1:14Speaker 3: writing with me because she thinks I'm too close to
- 1:17Speaker 3: people all the time.
- 1:17Speaker 2: On the Street, I would imagine that.
- 1:20Speaker 5: Jimmy, you got the eighty four car. What do you
- 1:22Speaker 5: think of the design that Shaquille O'Neil came up with.
- 1:26Speaker 3: It is so sharp. I am really proud of the car,
- 1:29Speaker 3: and I think it's going to look amazing on track
- 1:31Speaker 3: in the Daytona five hundred. Great people at Carvana asked
- 1:36Speaker 3: how we could do something different and unique. I was
- 1:38Speaker 3: able to get in contact the shack and we put
- 1:40Speaker 3: this program together and the car looks great. We had
- 1:43Speaker 3: it today over at the Orlando Magic practice facility, sitting
- 1:46Speaker 3: out front and took some photos. I was able to
- 1:48Speaker 3: tour the facility and then tomorrow we're on track with
- 1:51Speaker 3: practice and then Daytona five hundred twalvend.
- 1:54Speaker 4: Jimmy Cannis part of here, a huge fan.
- 1:57Speaker 5: Good luck, good luck.
- 1:59Speaker 4: In the race.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Come up.
- 2:00Speaker 4: But I just have a question because as a basketball player,
- 2:02Speaker 4: you know, we have our routine before games. You know,
- 2:04Speaker 4: you get a little pregame map, little pregame meal, salmon,
- 2:08Speaker 4: go get some shots up. What is it like leading
- 2:11Speaker 4: up to the race. What is your pregame ritual? What
- 2:13Speaker 4: is your pregame hype song? What does that look like
- 2:16Speaker 4: on race day?
- 2:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it's quite different, and I think it will resonate
- 2:22Speaker 3: with all of you just how different it is for us.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Two hours before the start of the race is our
- 2:28Speaker 3: chance to interact with fans, interact with our sponsors and partners,
- 2:32Speaker 3: and we're really paraded around and don't have any quiet time.
- 2:36Speaker 3: And so once the national anthem concludes, engines are going
- 2:39Speaker 3: to fire three minutes later, and so anthem's done. Just
- 2:43Speaker 3: my family climb in the window of the cars, start
- 2:45Speaker 3: putting stuff on. And it's wild because you know that
- 2:49Speaker 3: moment you fire the engines and roll down Pitt Lane,
- 2:52Speaker 3: you only have a couple of minutes really to pull
- 2:54Speaker 3: yourself in and focus on the race. I've noticed that,
- 2:57Speaker 3: you know, friends from the stick and ball world when
- 2:59Speaker 3: they come in find it so different. But growing up
- 3:03Speaker 3: in our sport is so common that you just, you know,
- 3:05Speaker 3: you have so many reps how that you get.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Used to it.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Jimmy, I'm from Daytona Beach and I was a pace
- 3:11Speaker 2: car driver for the PEPSI four hundred in July I
- 3:14Speaker 2: think two thousand and nine, and the new Kamaro car
- 3:18Speaker 2: was coming out and I'd never driven a stick before,
- 3:21Speaker 2: so the night before I had to learn how to
- 3:24Speaker 2: drive stick. But when I get in the car to
- 3:27Speaker 2: be the pace car driver, the guy in the car
- 3:30Speaker 2: with me says, hey, sometimes Jimmy Johnson likes to play
- 3:33Speaker 2: the joke and bump the pace car the back of
- 3:35Speaker 2: the car the pace car driver. So that was one
- 3:38Speaker 2: of the one moment I was scared to death because
- 3:40Speaker 2: I did not want you to bump the back of
- 3:42Speaker 2: the car. Now, I would say that if you were
- 3:44Speaker 2: to have bumped me that night, the races would have
- 3:47Speaker 2: started early because I was pulling over. But you were
- 3:50Speaker 2: generous and nice and you did not do that. I
- 3:52Speaker 2: don't expect you to remember that. But have you done
- 3:55Speaker 2: that before?
- 3:55Speaker 3: I think I missed the opportunity. Yes, oh that is
- 3:58Speaker 3: so much fun to do. They can see the driver's
- 4:02Speaker 3: hands like, oh my gosh, flailing around in the car.
- 4:05Speaker 3: I hate on the set opportunity.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Yes, thank you for not doing that.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Man.
- 4:09Speaker 5: There was fear in Vince's eyes retelling that story.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Just now.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Scared to death, Jimmy.
- 4:14Speaker 3: What about the banking in the corners. Isn't that just
- 4:16Speaker 3: wild house seep the turndard?
- 4:18Speaker 2: So they told us I had to keep at least
- 4:20Speaker 2: fifty five miles an hour, and that was the other thing.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I was just worried about not getting below fifty, so
- 4:26Speaker 2: I tip over and looked stupid, and there again the
- 4:28Speaker 2: race would start early.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Again it over.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I made it, yeah, because the banker would make me
- 4:32Speaker 2: so high. And at the daytime racetrack.
- 4:35Speaker 5: Jimmy, I guess my last question is this. I know
- 4:38Speaker 5: NBA players all the time, they get challenged to one
- 4:40Speaker 5: on one. How many people come up to you and
- 4:43Speaker 5: said I would beat you in a race and how
- 4:45Speaker 5: do you handle that?
- 4:47Speaker 3: Depends on how much they've been drinking at the track.
- 4:50Speaker 3: In that instance, It's always really funny to have a
- 4:52Speaker 3: good laugh with him. But I was the dumb guy
- 4:55Speaker 3: that challenged Chat to a free throw contest and loss,
- 4:58Speaker 3: So I'm not the smartest guy.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Very true.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Well, you are a five time Driver of the Year,
- 5:02Speaker 5: seven Cup Championships, and a Hall of Famer, and you
- 5:05Speaker 5: could check him out of the Daytona five hundred rocking
- 5:08Speaker 5: those magic pinstripes with Shaquille O'Neil on the hood. Pretty
- 5:12Speaker 5: darn awesome. Be sure to check out Jimmy and the
- 5:15Speaker 5: rest of NASCAR's best live from Daytona this Sunday, and
- 5:19Speaker 5: if you watch on Max. Max will have a NASCAR
- 5:23Speaker 5: Driver cam where you can go in the car of
- 5:26Speaker 5: any of the drivers, including Jimmy. Exclusive on the access
- 5:30Speaker 5: every in car camera, driver data, all that multiview options
- 5:35Speaker 5: and full team audio. NASCAR Driver Game is available all
- 5:38Speaker 5: season long only on Max.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I'm rooting for the shock Car.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Might have to sprinkle some money on Jimmy Johnson.
- 5:49Speaker 3: I didn't do for you.
