- 0:02It's always interesting how in a society that we're kinda like
- 0:07in, it always seems to be more excuses for everything than
- 0:16actual rationale pie things. Now that might be understanding
- 0:22the point, but let me all let me tell you all rather something
- 0:32about why mental health, mental illness has given people
- 0:40unfortunately too much for free pass.
- 0:47And look, if you're thinking I'm referring to that, that woman I
- 0:53believe up in Massachusetts or Maine, believe me, I'm not even
- 0:59going there. I'll let that case play itself
- 1:03out. But I'm just talking more or
- 1:06less in the general sense. Why is it that nowadays people
- 1:16use mental health or mental illness as an excuse?
- 1:23Now take it from a guy who probably it's still dealing with
- 1:29mental illness or mental health issues rather even today, and
- 1:36I'm sure you all are probably dealing with the same thing as
- 1:39well. I think it's fair to say that
- 1:45anyone who's ever gone through it or still going through it,
- 1:51they'll never be fully recovered by it.
- 1:58Yet it doesn't give really any slight of an legitimate reason
- 2:09as to why people do unspeakable things.
- 2:15Now, you can attribute that as far as why they do crimes and
- 2:22all that, you can attribute that to, you know, a variety of
- 2:28things, whether they've been suffering through depression, in
- 2:36some cases, PTSD, tragic loss of, you know, loved ones over a
- 2:44long period of time, whatever the case may be, it seems as if
- 2:50everyone at one point or another that's going through something
- 2:55of that match. But it doesn't give us an excuse
- 3:03to commit crimes. So why is it that people, you
- 3:12know, fortunately this is what society is right now, have used
- 3:16mental health as a clutch to give people a pass.
- 3:25It's, it's like in a way, coming to the defense of somebody when
- 3:31they commit a crime, regardless if they're dealing with mental
- 3:35health issues or not. And I'll be upfront about this.
- 3:46I never even thought for a moment about doing something so
- 3:51unspeakable that I would potentially hurt others.
- 3:58If I had even gone that route, I would have took myself out first
- 4:04before I even thought of putting anyone that I'd loved at risk.
- 4:14But I never for one moment considered, uh, taking all those
- 4:22lies just for the sake of it, of my health, mental health issues.
- 4:30The long and short of it is there was no excuse as to making
- 4:38justifications for mental health, tying into why people
- 4:44commit crimes ultimately. Now look, do every case kind of
- 4:50varies from different circumstances?
- 4:54Absolutely. I mean, I'm not going to be
- 4:57oblivious to say that. And you know what?
- 5:01Some actually do need help. You know, some actually do need
- 5:07to be in a psych ward mental hospital because they actually
- 5:14do need Richard and help. But then you have those who
- 5:21ultimately look for a way to justify quote UN quote mental
- 5:28health as an excuse. Again, notwithstanding the one
- 5:35particular case in Massachusetts or Maine.
- 5:38But that's why you can't really take people at the word, because
- 5:46there's always a motivation for why people do things.
- 5:52Because, you know, under that facade, I was supposed to say in
- 5:56the sense like the old saying, wolf in sheep's clothing, that
- 6:03more so applies in this sense. Again, there are reasons for
- 6:13some things in life, but most of the time there is no legitimate
- 6:21excuse to give somebody a pass because of the mental health
- 6:26problems. Unless it was that diet.
- 6:34But more of the story, if you need help for your mental health
- 6:38problems, get help. You know, I'm still doing it
- 6:45today as we speak now, I'm so plenty of you are doing the same
- 6:52thing, but the one thing you cannot do is resort to crimes
- 7:04and then try to use it as a justification.
- 7:08And you can pretty much see why society is where it's at right
- 7:13now because there's always something behind that gives
- 7:20people, for whatever reason, the quick judgement to come to
- 7:24somebody's defense. But even the accused knows they
- 7:31did the crime. But like I said, if you're going
- 7:38to if you want help more so don't wait until you were sought
- 7:43to dangerous tactics because by then it'll be far too late and
- 7:49you ultimately will suffer the if you're going to get help
- 7:55today, just get help and don't wait until another moment.
- 8:03If you're going to prioritize really getting help for
- 8:07yourself, it would be wise for you to do it now and take care
- 8:14of yourself in the long term. We all go do different things in
- 8:20life, so just learn to take care of yourself.
