Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: For the next few weeks, it's going to be about habits, and I know you're like habits, but habits are sexy, habits are cool.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to make habits sexy.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the B.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_01]: It Tell You See at Podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also Logan, prize instructor, and fit this business coach.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: Each week, my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it until you see it.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, babe.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: How are you?
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: We're doing a new series.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: You know, usually we do interviews and recaps, but for the next few weeks, it's going to be about habits.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I know you're like habits, but habits are sexy habits are cool.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to make habits sexy wouldn't be so fun if we could like have this on the brain sexy back, but like I'm bringing habits back.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, the reality is, is that I wanted to have a series that we could just refer back to any time you need to dive into a habit.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: You want to create, I think a lot of our guests are of inspiring stories.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: And if you have it noticed, the reason they get to do the things that they do, the reason they were able to be it till they see it is actually because of the habits that they have created for themselves.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: And so I wanted to, anytime we hear like,
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone bring up a habit if you're like, oh my god, if that's like this thing I'm going to work on that or there's a habit I don't like I want us to have a series we could to point you to so that it would be really helpful.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: You can revisit as much as you want and hopefully some of this will be reminder some of this I've brought up like little bits and pieces, but I also just want to have like a actual story of like how habits are really created so.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: Each episode is going to be a mini, mini work, mini MINI, mini workshop on how habits are created and each episode will kind of go deeper and deeper and deeper so my hope is that you can practice this and do this on your own.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, what are habits, so you'd be surprised how many habits you have.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot of us think like, oh, I want to have the habit of walking every day.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: So you actually have tons of habits, you have habits about like how you open your phone habits, you don't like about yourself.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: But habits are just basically the things you do regularly, often without thinking about them.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: That happen.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully on a subconscious level because of my God, our brains will be exhausted if we're going to think about them all the time.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: But your entire day, your weeks, your year is built on a bunch of habits that you have, whether you intentionally create them or you did it.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: And it's actually much easier to create a habit than you think.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: A group of thinking that habits take 21 days.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: It takes 21 days to build a habit.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: And then I saw something, it's like 90 days.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: 75 hard and it's like you do this stuff for 75 days and the truth is that you're usually from some of those things, you're so tired of working on the habit, you don't even want to deal with the habit anymore.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: Some people try to create habits by signing up for a race so then they have to run and then that will help them create a habit of running.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, it won't.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: Once the race is over, if you don't have another race signed up for you, you're unlikely to create the habit because you didn't actually do the steps to create the habit.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of us have habits we don't like.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: Some of us read our phones with forebed because they create and we go to our email and they find relief because there's nothing to work on to me.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: And then we have this habit that we check our emails right before bed because it gave us relief, right?
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: Or certainty or dopamine hits.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: And so all of the stuff I actually want to have, it's the things that I love the most have come from the book Tiny Habits by B.J.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: Fog and I got to study with his program years and years ago.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I study with him on purpose because I actually really like the way that he breaks it down and he is also the person that the founders of Instagram studied with.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: Remember the beginnings of the IG way back when it took three steps to actually post a picture and start getting a dopamine hit.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: three steps.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: Now there's a bunch of other things you have to do and none of it, but like I'll be honest, I'll post something and then I go and check and see like how's it doing because it's a dopamine hit, right?
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's a habit that I don't love that I have, right?
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: So habits are just the things that we do that build up our day that allow us to have reach to the goals we want to have or not.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: If you have a goal in your life,
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: there's things you want to do.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't have habits that support that, you won't do it.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: I can promise you that right now.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: There's also an ideal schedule that has to go in with it, but truthfully, like that's how it is.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm 42 at the time of recording this.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like, periodment of pause, symptoms have arrived, and so one of the things that I have been working really hard on is my sleep.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: just because I have a goal over going to my sleep, because I'm going to achieve it unless the habits of my life support the goal of sleeping, right, the goal of good sleep.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I share that with you because what are your habits, your habits are all the things that you're doing, that will either help you reach your goals or won't.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: So what aren't habits?
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's no such thing as a bad habit.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: I know, I know.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: We were raised with like, oh, you have a really bad habit.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you chew on your nails.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's a really bad habit.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: Or you eat at your desk.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's a really bad habit.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't listened to the episode with Anthony but not when we're talking about good and bad, certain things serve you at the time you were doing them.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: Some people might, it might be bad for some person, but it might not be bad for you.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: It might actually be serving a good purpose for you.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then at some point, it doesn't.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: And so when a habit is something you no longer want, we have to unravel it.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: We'll do an episode on how to unravel a habit.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: You no longer want, but you can't break a bad habit.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: Habits are not like a ruler or a stick.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: They are a web and as we go through how to create habits that really stick in habits that you want to have in your life You need to understand that like all habits are a like a web that we weave in fact when we if we were to take a 30,000 foot view on our life Or on it just a day we would actually see just like how a web of our day works how some things are so depend on other things And if one thing goes off then the domino effect doesn't go there's a lot of people who like to about habits stacking
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: I will get into that in a little bit, but it's so important that you actually for my perfectionist and my overachievers that we don't focus on habit stacking just yet, because that is when the domino doesn't hit the rest of the things fall, like don't fall, right?
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: And so then a whole day could be ruined.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: And so I really want to give you support around building habits that you want to have,
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: to create the life that you want to live to be it till you see it without having some sort of like domino that if it doesn't go then the rest of the habits don't go.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: I want to teach you how you can create habits.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: where if we take one of them away, the rest of them could still happen, right?
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: So for example, when I travel, my morning routine looks different than my own home.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people when they travel, nothing looks the same except our breakfast, I mean, brushing their teeth.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: But for me, I still go for my walks.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: I still work out.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: They might not be as long.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: There's no dog oftentimes, but like most others a lot of different things that I can do.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll get into an episode of how I like how I can make my habits malleable for when I travel.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: But if I had such strict,
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: Strictness around the habit stacking.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: This happens and this happens and this happens.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's quite possible that I don't have the tools in my brain and body to make habits go.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: And that's gonna come more clear as we go through things.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I just wanna say, I'm more specifically following the tiny habits books if you wanna read than to this more that is the one that I would suggest for you.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I also wanna say, please, please, please, please.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: As you go through this, you're going to be tempted to want to try three things at once, three habits at once, stack them because you've heard James Clear say that or other experts say that, and I'm going to tell you for my perfectionist and over-cheaters, my recovering perfectionist, that is just going to create an all-or-nothing mindset.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to make it very difficult for you to make these valuable and grow them with the life that you have because our lives are different every single day.
- 8:13[UNKNOWN]: Okay?
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: Also, we've heard, we've heard the same like tomorrow mornings, great day starts with with last night, a good last night, right?
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: But it's true, tomorrow the success for your morning, actually will start often and start on last night's habits.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if I want to be able to get up every morning and have an amazing morning routine, but I'm constantly on my screen.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: at night and like not going to bed at the time that I wanted to, I'm going to wake up exhausted.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: Might even have to hit snooze and therefore I start to affect what habits I actually have time for in the morning.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: So everything we do really does matter, right, all the things that we have in our life.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: One of the episodes is going to have you really thinking about the things that you do in your day.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like being mindful, like when what do you do when you wake up?
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: Or do you put your feet?
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: What do you do next?
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: What do you do after that?
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: What do you do after that?
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like for me, I sit up.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: I grab my phone.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: I grab my water bottle, and I walk directly into our extra bathroom to get in the coal punch.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I do.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then from a coal plunge I did the next thing I do the next thing right so notice what you do I when I we bought the coal plunge I think about when am I going to do what am I going to add this in right where is it going to best fit we'll talk more about that in the upcoming episode about starting habits but just start to notice the habits you have the ones you like and the ones that you don't like because it's going to make a difference okay.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: So the other thing I want to address in today's episode, because habits are sexy, a lot of you have goals, lots of goals, and goals are really a series of habits.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to leave a job, the habits of filling the applications, networking, and dressing for the job you want, that those are all habits we need to have.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: If you're like, I need a new job, but you're not, you don't have any habits around like maybe you work at a coffee shop and you really,
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe of a uniform at the coffee shops, you're like, I can't dress for that lessly.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but what are you doing?
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: You leave the coffee shop.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: What are you doing?
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: Habit wise to dress or be the person that is going to have that fashion job.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: what networking events are you going to?
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: Those, like, what are you, what are you practicing saying at those networking events to get the job you want?
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: All those are series of habits, right?
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: Having the diligence and time to sit down and feel applications or review jobs, like those are a series of habits.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: So easier a place with other habits we don't like about ourselves, like scrolling.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: But remember, habits we don't like are giving us something.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: There's something positive it's giving your brain.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to make more space for a partner in your life, habits are how you get there.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, I'll tell you this already.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: I've heard it a couple times, but I'll tell you, I was really busy when I met Brad.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: I had to be busy because I needed to make money.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: I was paying my own bills for the first time, all of the bills for the first and a long time.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: I paid a small amount of rent with my last partner.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: I had a lot of gas payment, and I got a gas bills.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: from and a lot of time on in traffic, but I went from like paying maybe $700 a month to paying $1,700 a month, plus like paying full electric bills and gas bills, all that stuff.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was just a lot of money out once, and you know when you move into something, you're like, I have to have the first month payment last month payment.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: I had a buy new cars whole thing.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I was working six days a week, like 12, 14 hour days.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: that also included my workouts.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: So, but I wanted to meet someone.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: And so, if I want to meet someone, I have to have habits that allow my life to have space for a partner.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: So, one of the habits I did was I poured coffee for two people.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: I part coffee for two people because I was like, one, I want to meet someone who likes to drink coffee in the morning to I'd love to make coffee for them in the morning.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: That's one thing I can do even when I'm busy, right?
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: And then that, so I started the habit before I had the partner.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: I also made sure that I always said no to anything on Thursday nights on until last minute unless it was a date.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like Thursday nights is gonna be my date night.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's my habit for my date night.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I can meet someone so I can have a partner.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: So if you want to have something in your life, if you've made room for it in the habits that you have have to support with that is, if I'm saying I want to have a life partner, but I am saying yes to hang out with friends or doing other things on the one night that I could actually go out with someone, I'm not making space.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: How am I going to meet someone if I want to have a partner in my life, but I actually don't have any.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: way of, like there's nothing in my life that would allow a partner to be part of it, then that partner's going to last for your long, right?
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: So you have to have habits, you have to start creating habits around the things that you want.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: Now that's part of being it till you see it.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, you can use habits to be it till you see it very easily every single day.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Habits do, I think, get a bad rap because I think a lot of people get a little rigid in their habits.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: And if that's you, I'm hopeful that this series will help you understand, like,
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: how you can change or recreate the habits so they can be a little bit more malleable.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: So you can go on trips.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: There are some people who like it has to be a certain way and I will say like obviously if this is a condition like an OCD condition or are something like that, please seek out professional help.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: But for a lot of people that isn't the case, but they're really rigid around their habits because they don't trust themselves.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: And so I would hopefully the series allows you
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: take a look at the habits you have and make sure you still want them.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes they keep habits around not because they're serving us, but because we've always been doing them, right, and that's not exactly what we want to be doing.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: We want to make sure that our habits are things that we want in our lives that they do serve us, and so evaluating our habits and how they serve us is a really, really important thing for us to be doing.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I already said it,
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: Before I wrap this episode up, I actually want to talk about how the first step in creating a habit because I want you to do a bunch of practices before our next episode.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: So the first step in creating habits is knowing what we want to create.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: So I want you to grab a piece of paper.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: write to scrapy's paper and I want you to put on the center of the paper something you wish you did more of.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll give you some ideas.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you want more sleep or maybe you want to work out more or maybe you want to have more energy.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: The more specific it can be, the better, maybe you want a partner.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you want to have, maybe only a dog.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'll please adopt one.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: Please don't buy one.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: Just go adopt it.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you want to run a marathon or maybe you want to
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you want to get a new job.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we're going to start a new business.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you my habit, and we'll use as an example.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: So I want to get back into reading more books the old school way.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I listen to a lot of books on audible, and I like that, but I actually really do believe that I retain more when I read a book.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: like my finger running across the page, my eye is seen it.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like I just I often kind of like I can hear it in my head as I'm a unit, every teen a lot more information.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: So I had the school of the year 25 books in 2025.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I allowed myself for some of those books to be out of.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: Also, I'm not saying that they aren't aren't there, but I am realizing that I haven't read a full paper or hardcover book yet this year at the time or recording this and it's July.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: So we're in the month of the year.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: And so my wish to read more and make it a mixture is not happening yet, and that's because the habits aren't there.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I am definitely, you know, well, on my way to hitting the number of books I wanted, but not in the way that I was hoping to have a blend.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: So on this in the paper, I'm gonna have read more physical books, okay?
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then around the goal, just put a circle around it, around the goal, you're gonna put down all the different ways that you think right now, you could achieve that goal.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_01]: So again, maybe your goal is getting more sleep, maybe your goal is getting a new job, whatever it is, my goal is reading more books.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so then I can, so I'm gonna put different things around it.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I have have a book on my nightstand, like just have a book there, like right on my nightstand.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: So like as soon as I get in bed, I could read the book.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: I could schedule a time to read, right?
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: I could put it in my calendar.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: I could read while I'm eating my breakfast or my lunch, instead of what I'm doing, which is probably something on my phone.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: I can read, instead of playing a video game.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: Some people are always surprised that I play one.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: I do play a video game, usually when we're stuck on the road, on a plane, and I just have one game that I play, and this is really, it's kind of like a nice way of letting my mind settle on some things.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe there are some of the times that I play the game that I could be reading instead, so I have to evaluate that, right?
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: I could join a book club, so maybe I'll be better at joining a book club.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like the runners, like, sent for a race, though.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: I could get the Libby app.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: Right, and maybe instead of having to be a physical book, maybe it can be on my iPad.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I could read it that way.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: I could set a timer when I read, and make sure I'm reading for 20 minutes.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: So what are some other things?
- 17:17[SPEAKER_01]: So you're just brain-dumping.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there's no bad ideas on a brain-storm.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: You're just putting all the ideas on one page, okay?
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: Then you're going to take out another piece of paper.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: So this is the last thing we're going to do today in this episode.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to take out another piece of paper and you're going to draw a vertical line and a horizontal line.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: So you'll have four quadrants, right?
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: And on the vertical line, I want one to do at the top.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: And on the bottom, it's going to say, don't want to do.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: And then on the horizontal line, on the right, it's going to say easy to do.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: So it's effort right and then it's on the left side, so it's going to say hard to do and you're going to take each idea and go easy to do hard to do right where is it on that line and then I want to do it don't want to do it okay so have a look at my nightstand well that is pretty easy to do okay in fact there's one there right now.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's not really like the time I like.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: So for right now, I'm gonna put that kind of around the bottom of the want to do.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not in the upper hand, right quadrant right now.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's not there.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, another example, schedule in time to read.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's easy to do.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: Do I wanna do it?
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think I do.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think maybe if I just put it in my schedule, that so I'm gonna put that in there.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about why that might not be a great idea in a future episode.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: But for right now, it's going to go in there.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, read breakfast or lunch that easy to a hard to do at breakfast.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's easy to do at lunch.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually hard to do.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to break that up into read at breakfast.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: So read it.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: Read it breakfast is easy to do.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: And then do I want to do it?
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think if I start the day, so I'm going to put that up in the upper hand.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I've got two things in the upper hand, right, right quadrant.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: Join a book club.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: That is actually hard to do, right?
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like that is difficult to find a group that likes the books that I like, that also, as at a time I can go, so it's hard to do.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: So even though I want to do it, it's over on the upper hand left.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: Read into the point of video game.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's actually kind of easiest to do.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: It would require me unraveling the video game habit,
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to do it, yeah, I'd say I want to do it.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll put that up there.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so we got three things up again, right quadrant.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: Get the Libby app, easy to do or hard to, easy to do.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: Got it, do I want to read on the Libby app?
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: Right now, that's a no.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: So I want to put it in the don't want to do.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: Set a timer to read for 20 minutes, easy to do or hard to do.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: Easy to do.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: Do I want to do it?
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe I want to do it.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so put those up there.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: So your turn, right?
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to do the same thing.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: And so now that you've heard, you can have ideas that don't sound great to you.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: Can you go back and add more things?
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: Because sometimes we add things we don't like.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: It comes up with ideas that we do like, or things that are outside of the box that we would have normally thought about or outside the rum of possibilities.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: because you're, you're, I'm not gonna try all these things at one time.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna explain how we're gonna break this down in the next episode.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: But for now, your homework is to think of one thing you want.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: bring some all the different ways you could do it.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: And then put on a scale of easy hard and want to do, don't want to do.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: If you do this, take a picture of it, tag, and then be a pod, tag me on Instagram.
