- 0:03Welcome to Worldview Matters.
- 0:05Discussing controversial issues.
- 0:07Discerning current events.
- 0:10Defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic.
- 0:14Off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Fiorazzo.
- 0:20Friends and family, I'm trying to get two words out in the same.
- 0:22Brothers and sisters, how's that?
- 0:24Let's talk to the remnant here.
- 0:26That's what I was just talking about with today's guest, who I'm going to bring on in a minute.
- 0:31But I want to mention the topic for today.
- 0:33We're going to talk about guarding our hearts against satanic deceptions.
- 0:38And you know, the enemy does have a plan.
- 0:42But the Bible does say we are not...
- 0:44unaware of his schemes.
- 0:46So we're going to talk a little bit more about that, some of the big ones, some of the big deceptions, and then some of the more subtle ones that are flying underneath the radar with today's guest.
- 0:56It is Tim Moore is back with us.
- 0:58He is the Senior Evangelist and Director of Lamb and Lion Ministries.
- 1:02Prior to being called to ministry, he served 34 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a colonel.
- 1:09He also served 13 years in the Kentucky Legislature,
- 1:13founding the Prayer Caucus and the Pro-Life Caucus, and chairing the Veterans Military Affairs and Public Protection Committee.
- 1:24A native of Kentucky, Tim co-hosts Christ in Prophecy, which I'm sure you're all familiar with, with Nathan Jones.
- 1:31Tim and his wife Amy have four children and so far eight grandchildren.
- 1:37Brother, thank you so much for your time again.
- 1:38Good to see you, Tim.
- 1:41David, thank you very much for having me.
- 1:42As you read a little bit of my bio, people may think I can't keep a job or that I'm already 94 years old.
- 1:48But indeed, the Lord has blessed me with many opportunities.
- 1:52I'm very glad to be with you today.
- 1:54Yeah, I love your background, especially Air Force.
- 1:57I love that.
- 1:57So I do want to mention, we've had Nathan on, we've had you on, but Nathan is coming to our conference next year, and because at ChristAndProphecy.org, ChristAndProphecy.org.
- 2:10Guys, you can go look up another podcast with another guest that we're having.
- 2:14Brianna Clausen is coming back to our conference next year.
- 2:18She's with Harbingers Daily.
- 2:19You guys did one.
- 2:20It was called A Debra for Today.
- 2:23Great program.
- 2:24You guys want to watch that interview at Christ in Prophecy, but our Lamb and Lion Ministries, ChristinProphecy.org.
- 2:30I want to mention, since I brought up Nathan and Brianna, we are having another conference.
- 2:37We have it all set to go right now.
- 2:39We doubled the occupancy.
- 2:40Why?
- 2:41Because we sold out early last year.
- 2:44And a lot of people said, boy, if I just would have known the dates, I wouldn't have scheduled my vacation or my travel plans or something else.
- 2:52So if it's important to you, you will be there, especially if you're in Wisconsin or the upper Midwest.
- 2:59Please check out worldviewmattersconference.com.
- 3:03That's worldviewmattersconference.com.
- 3:06Fourteen speakers.
- 3:09A 90-minute Q&A the first night, Friday night, and two full days, $89.
- 3:15Okay?
- 3:17And we will be live streaming.
- 3:18I'll get you more details.
- 3:19We'll mention the speakers more and more and more as we get into these weeks and months.
- 3:23But, Tim, thank you so much for your time today.
- 3:26Your topic suggestion is, I think, is very, very important, which I touched on at the beginning here.
- 3:32So you've done some presentations on this.
- 3:35You've talked about satanic deceptions.
- 3:37In fact, one of your presentations was called, where is it?
- 3:41Satan's, was it modus operandi?
- 3:44Yes, sir.
- 3:45Yeah, to start wherever you want, tell us about how we can go into this.
- 3:49And if you have to go back to Genesis, let's do that.
- 3:53Well, obviously that's where we're gonna start.
- 3:55And I do appreciate the title you are thinking, of Guard Our Hearts.
- 3:59And that was an admonition I passed on to my children.
- 4:02I said, while they were very young, it was my job as their father to guard their hearts, but I admonish them, as you grow, guard your heart, guard your mind.
- 4:10And that's what scripture tells us so that we are not deceived.
- 4:14Even when the disciples were inquiring of Jesus at the beginning of Matthew 24, when some of his prophetic words would come to pass, and when the end of the age would occur, he told them to not be deceived.
- 4:26So regarding Satan's modus operandi, as he's trying to pierce through the armor that God has enabled us to have as followers of Christ,
- 4:37You can go all the way back to Genesis, as you said, David, in Genesis chapter 3, and you realize that Satan's modus operandi was first to plant doubt regarding what God had said.
- 4:48And I point out to people that there was only one rule in the Garden of Eden, and yet Eve couldn't even remember one rule that God had handed down, and so Satan twisted that.
- 4:58Did God really say...
- 5:00And to this day, Satan is asking, did God really say?
- 5:04And then he asserted very boldly, God lied.
- 5:07And so you can't trust God.
- 5:09And the final modus operandi, as he tempted Eve and Adam, that they should be like God, which is essentially what Satan himself had done.
- 5:17And so, David, today, so many of the problems we see in our society is.
- 5:22is because we have cut ourselves loose as a culture from Judeo-Christian foundations, and people are asking, well, did God really say that marriage is between a man and woman?
- 5:33Did God really say that he created man and woman?
- 5:36Are there lots of other genders, and can you flip-flop back and forth?
- 5:40In other words, this age-old deception, did God really say?
- 5:44Did God really say that he had made a promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their descendants forever
- 5:51Or did he lie about that and so many other promises?
- 5:54And so we're going to talk about a couple of major deceptions, but there's so many others that are multiplying all around us, as I believe Satan recognizes that his time is short.
- 6:06Yes, amen, and fantastic introduction, brother.
- 6:09I'm glad you brought up some of the issues we're dealing with in America and in the world today.
- 6:14Did God really create male and female?
- 6:19And is marriage just between one man and one woman?
- 6:22I should say God-ordained natural marriage.
- 6:25Is that between one man and one woman?
- 6:27And if not, who defines what marriage is?
- 6:31Tim, doesn't it start with—
- 6:33at least for the Bible-believing Christian, because there's some confusion in the church today, sadly, in America.
- 6:39Doesn't it start with God as the starting point?
- 6:43Jesus is the only way, truth, and life.
- 6:46If you remove God as the starting point, then there's all kinds of possibilities, and you find the moral relativism we have today, don't we?
- 6:55You sure do.
- 6:56As a matter of fact, you either accept that God is the authority, he is the law giver, he is the creator, or you cast yourself adrift and have no foundation.
- 7:06And that's why, David, quite frankly, even, you know, your message of worldview matters, the framework by which we build our lives and the foundation upon which it rests is critical to our understanding of the entire world
- 7:20in every aspect of it, our lives, our interaction with other men and women, our eternal purpose, and obviously the salvation message that we know is inherently true as revealed in Scripture.
- 7:33And so you can go all the way back to the beginning and understand that God revealed certain truths
- 7:39And if we reject those, then again, we have embraced a lie.
- 7:43And as Jesus said, Satan is the father of lies.
- 7:47When he lies, he's speaking his own language.
- 7:48That's what he does.
- 7:50And yet, ironically, he tries to convince us that God is a liar.
- 7:54And that is offensive to a holy God.
- 7:56And yet so many times, you can see in our culture, people have accepted that, and they have abandoned our Judeo-Christian foundations.
- 8:06So I love what you're saying.
- 8:08And one thing that came to mind, a big lie that even maybe has crept into the church, is that God's Word is not inerrant and perfect and eternal.
- 8:20We don't have any wiggle room there.
- 8:21There's no gray area.
- 8:23Either this, what we have, the Bible, it's God's holy and perfect Word, or it's just maybe something that man put together.
- 8:31Can you comment on that, please, Tim, before we move on?
- 8:35Yeah, I think that is the foundation that we first have to understand.
- 8:40You know, our ministry, Lamb and Lion Ministries, we talk about Christ in prophecy because the prophetic word points to Christ, was fulfilled in Christ, and will be fulfilled in his second coming.
- 8:51But if you don't accept that God revealed himself and prophecy, then all of this makes no sense to you.
- 8:58But I like to say...
- 8:59There was no eyewitness in the beginning other than God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- 9:05There is no eyewitness to the end and to all of the things that will transpire in the end times, except for God, who is so far outside of time that he can look at the beginning and the end, and your life and my life with equal clarity and see it all.
- 9:20And so when he says, Thus saith the Lord,
- 9:23or in the beginning, God created, or in the end, this is what will transpire, we can trust him.
- 9:30Now again, so many are doubting that, which is why Jesus' first word of response when the disciples asked in Matthew 24, when will these things take place?
- 9:39what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age, he first said, see to it that you are not misled.
- 9:44You are not deceived, lest nothing that has been revealed and the word of God will even resonate.
- 9:52Because again, if we embrace deception, we are cast adrift into oblivion and eventually into absolute despair.
- 10:00It's very interesting to me.
- 10:02I think it's Mark 13 and Matthew 24, those places.
- 10:09When the disciples were marveling at the temple and the buildings, and they're asking Jesus about the timing.
- 10:15When will these things happen?
- 10:17What will be the sign of your return?
- 10:20Interesting that he didn't answer, well, this is going to happen in this.
- 10:23He said the first thing he said was, don't be deceived.
- 10:26That's the first thing out of his mouth.
- 10:28So we're talking about two major deceptions today that are very, very important, guys.
- 10:34And by the way, before we move on, Tim, you've got these presentations on your website, correct?
- 10:39Could you direct people to them so they can get there's more depth in what we can cover in this short podcast?
- 10:46Yeah, of course.
- 10:47So anybody can go to our website at Lamb & Lyme Ministries.
- 10:51All you have to do is go to Christ in Prophecy.
- 10:56That's ChristinProphecy.org, and all of our teachings are available there.
- 11:02It has both our television program, Christ in Prophecy, our radio program, which is available as a podcast, Christ in Prophecy Radio, and all of the other material.
- 11:12You can sign up for our magazine, the Lamplighter magazine.
- 11:15It comes out every other month.
- 11:16It's free for electronic distribution, or you can get the print edition, and it is highly acclaimed.
- 11:22And I so appreciate the fact that you were talking about your own conference that's coming up.
- 11:27Obviously, Nathan Jones being there, but we are so connected to other like-minded ministries.
- 11:33So Brianna Clausen, for example, from Harbinger's Daily will be on our program again coming up.
- 11:38And so we touch on things that are current in the news today and how they relate to Bible prophecy.
- 11:45But we also start with Scripture.
- 11:47Instead of going running around looking for signs, we see what the Bible says.
- 11:52And yet, David, the signs are multiplying all around us.
- 11:56Even as we're recording this podcast, just recently, Massachusetts chose to embrace a senatorial candidate, the incumbent, Ed Markey, who has doubled down on embracing the transgender revolution and saying that boys deserve to be able to compete with girls on any women's team.
- 12:16This is a touch point that contradicts scripture, but is as relevant as, again, the news of the day.
- 12:23And yet it is a sign of the fulfillment of Romans 1.
- 12:26And there are so many other signs that are multiplying.
- 12:29So one of our go-to messages is talking about the very signs of the time that...
- 12:34that detail and indicate that Jesus is coming soon.
- 12:38And I believe that's what Satan is paying attention to.
- 12:41He knows Bible prophecy as well as we do, perhaps better, because he knows every chapter and verse, and he can twist and warp even the Word of God to his own end, but he sees the signs multiplying, and as I said before, I believe Satan knows that his time is very short.
- 12:59Amen, brother.
- 13:00And by the way, I do want to mention, since you mentioned where you can find those messages on your website, that your book is called High Flight on Eagle's Wings.
- 13:09You can pick that up at the store at Lamb and Lion Ministries, friends.
- 13:13So we mentioned that before in the podcast when Tim was on.
- 13:15Didn't want to let this go by without mentioning that again.
- 13:18I'm glad you brought up Massachusetts briefly.
- 13:21I didn't get a chance to talk about this article last week with other guests, but you mentioned that state.
- 13:26A lot of states are going in this direction, but it is now legal in that state to kill a baby until the moment of birth.
- 13:32And they were celebrating.
- 13:34This is like Nazi and Hitler-esque.
- 13:38They're celebrating this decision when they're, I think it was the governor that signed this legislation.
- 13:43It is horrific.
- 13:44But how does this happen?
- 13:46It happens when you remove God, Jesus, the truth, the Bible as the starting point and get off into a secular worldview where we can be like God.
- 13:55Tim, briefly comment on that before we move on.
- 13:58Yeah, it is the age of total deception and obviously people embracing death and murder.
- 14:05And so you had a group of women surrounding Governor Healy there celebrating the signing of a law allowing babies to be aborted, murdered.
- 14:14up to the moment of birth, I mean, five minutes before a child would emerge from its mother's womb and birth canal, they could kill that baby with no repercussions whatsoever.
- 14:23And even many, who I would not say are staunchly Christian in their worldview, David, were declaring that this is abominable.
- 14:33I think finally people are waking up, and yet it's probably too late for some who are given over to this mentality.
- 14:39We've seen in Canada and other European nations where this culture of death,
- 14:44has gone so far that they are embracing euthanasia to the point that anyone beyond a certain age or a certain physical limitation is encouraged to actually commit suicide, doctor assisted, just to get off the books and out of the way because they cost a lot of money.
- 15:01And this is the culture again that is taking root.
- 15:06all across parts of our country.
- 15:08And Christians need to stand up and speak out lest we wake up one day and think, what in the world is going on?
- 15:14David, I hear so many people are already asking that.
- 15:17They recognize something is terribly amiss.
- 15:21And yet, just to...
- 15:23election or a primary, we are told that in the average election in the United States, 40 plus percent of Bible believing Christians do not vote.
- 15:33And we wonder why our salt and light is not having impact.
- 15:38We need to be intentional about seeking the welfare of the city, the state, the nation where we live.
- 15:43And there I'm quoting Jeremiah 29, 7, even as we're exiles here on this earth, awaiting our home going.
- 15:50We need to seek the welfare of this place, because in its welfare, we will have welfare, and obviously being that salt and light which Christ calls us to do.
- 16:01Tim, thank you for bringing that up.
- 16:03We've got major midterms coming up in November, and elections have consequences.
- 16:07And somebody's legislation will go through.
- 16:11Somebody's worldview will be changed.
- 16:14elected, and then if it's on the left, you see the direction of the country, and a lot of states are going.
- 16:18So Christians, we've got to do a better job of getting those in our sphere of influence active, and you mentioned salt and light.
- 16:25We've sadly kind of lost those ideas in the church, or those concepts, those principles, but let's get back to the two, two major, there's a lot of
- 16:37End times deceptions that are infiltrating the church.
- 16:41There's a lot going on outside in the world, around it in our culture, but in the church, Tim, tell us about those two we need to keep an eye out for or guard our hearts against.
- 16:51Yeah, so in the church, obviously Satan, you think, well, certainly Satan can't get into the church and have any impact, you know, in the Christian sphere.
- 17:02And my point is, oh, yes, he can.
- 17:04Because over and over again, we're warned not to be deceived.
- 17:08And so that means that there's the possibility we can be deceived.
- 17:12The first lie that Satan would want to perpetrate is that Jesus is not coming soon.
- 17:19And this goes straight to 2 Peter 3, where Peter prophetically foretells a time when people will grow skeptical.
- 17:29As he says, they will ask, where is the promise of his coming?
- 17:34And when people ask that, Peter's not talking about the world, because David, the world doesn't even know that there's a promise of Jesus coming.
- 17:40They're not looking for him.
- 17:42This is a skepticism that is mounting in the church.
- 17:45And you and I have both encountered people who say, well, you know, my parents or my grandparents, they were looking for Jesus, but he didn't come in their lifetime.
- 17:53So why should I get all excited?
- 17:55Instead of recognizing that the signs of the times are exploding in front of us.
- 17:59I mean, my second example will be a demonstration of that, but whether it's signs of nature, signs of society, signs that are spiritual in nature, signs of world politics, signs of technology, or the greatest sign of all Israel,
- 18:13we see that the signs are increasing in frequency and intensity and they're converging like never before.
- 18:19And yet there are people in the church who are scoffing, as Peter foretells, saying, where is the promise of His coming?
- 18:27Well, folks, the promise of His coming is yes and amen, and we may be the very generation that gets to see that, but we lose a blessing as Christians if we do not eagerly anticipate Christ coming for us,
- 18:40because we're told by Paul that he was looking forward to Jesus coming, and therefore he was going to receive a crown of righteousness.
- 18:48And so can all of us who are eager to see the Lord's return.
- 18:53The second deception touches on that greatest sign of all, and that is the sign of Israel, and even in the church.
- 19:00There is a growing ambivalence and even animosity in some younger generations to God's promises to Israel.
- 19:08Too many Christians have bought into the satanic lie that God has washed his hands of the Jewish people and all of the promises given to Israel have been shunted over to the church.
- 19:20Well, folks, we are grafted in as followers of Jesus Christ, the Jewish Messiah.
- 19:25Praise the Lord!
- 19:27But that does not mean that he has cast off the house of Israel using the phrase from Ezekiel 36.
- 19:34God's promises to them are still yes and amen.
- 19:37And I reference Ezekiel 36 because even when I engage with a replacement theologian who has said God's done with Israel, I point them to Ezekiel 36 where God makes promises to the mountains of Israel that his people will return to the land.
- 19:55on the mountains of Israel.
- 19:56And I asked Gentile Christians, do you feel compelled to go live on the mountains of Israel?
- 20:00And they say, no.
- 20:01And I say, well, that's because you are not the fulfillment of that promise, nor will you be, but the Jewish people do feel a motivation to go home.
- 20:09So even in our own country, when we get very concerned, when radical Muslim socialists like Zoran Mandami gets elected in New York City, guess what?
- 20:23In God's economy, for the first time, the largest Jewish enclave outside of Israel, that being the greater New York City metropolitan area, are beginning to ask, maybe it's time for us to go to the promised land.
- 20:37And as my friend Model Balliston says, they don't mean Florida.
- 20:41They mean go back to Israel.
- 20:43And when a radical socialist was elected or is about to be elected probably in Denver, the Jewish people in Denver are saying, maybe it's time for us to go home.
- 20:53All these things are happening before our eyes if we just have eyes to see, ears to hear, and if we're paying attention to the prophetic word of God being fulfilled before our eyes.
- 21:05And again, those two satanic deceptions in particular are infiltrating the church with too many Christians.
- 21:13scoffing at the idea that Jesus is coming again or soon, and beginning to turn their back on Israel.
- 21:20These are two horrible deceptions amongst many others that Christians cannot yield on by any means.
- 21:28Yeah, we could talk a lot.
- 21:29We could do several episodes on just these two deceptions.
- 21:33So I want to ask you a question about both of them.
- 21:35The first one, I mean, it's prophetic.
- 21:37Scoffers and mockers are prophetic.
- 21:39But in the church, do you think people are maybe battle-weary or thinking, well—
- 21:45I mean, the Apostle Paul said soon, or my grandparents said soon, Jesus is coming soon in our lifetime, perhaps, but he didn't.
- 21:55We've lost sight of God's timeline.
- 21:57We're thinking in our picture, right?
- 22:00So the second question would be, Israel, I don't understand other than
- 22:04a misinterpretation completely of Romans 9 through 11 and other portions of Scripture.
- 22:10Is it biblical illiteracy in the church that causes the second deception?
- 22:15So the first question about the church maybe scoffing a little bit or doubting the return of Jesus, and the second question is, is it our biblical illiteracy in the church that causes more people to be maybe anti-Israel?
- 22:30Well, I think you hit on a key realization that there is a lot of biblical illiteracy.
- 22:36And it's not just among the young, although many young people who profess to be Christians really don't have much depth to their understanding of the faith, the doctrines of the faith, the faith once for all handed down to the saints, that we are supposed to teach our children as they grow.
- 22:52But even a lot of older Christians,
- 22:54do not know God's Word.
- 22:56Many of them that I encounter, you as well I'm sure, will say, well I've never been exposed to Bible prophecy because my pastor is a little bit wary of it and he doesn't preach on it.
- 23:06And folks, that's a quarter to a third of the Bible that is foretelling.
- 23:10Now some of those foretold prophecies have already been fulfilled.
- 23:13So in the life of Christ, many were fulfilled.
- 23:16And this is a key part of even the gospel message.
- 23:20When Peter preached in Acts 2 to the crowds of Pentecost, what did he preach?
- 23:25Prophecy after prophecy after prophecy, fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ, demonstrating that he was the Messiah.
- 23:32You can think about Philip going out to the Ethiopian eunuch and reading Bible prophecy from Isaiah was a tool of evangelism.
- 23:39So we need to ground ourselves in the Word of God.
- 23:42We need to build our worldview based on the foundation of the truth of God's Word, and that will give us discernment.
- 23:50And yes, even in these end times, that would allow people to recognize that Jesus' promise is yes and amen.
- 23:58And a plain sense reading of the prophetic word tells us that we need to be alert always for the coming of Christ.
- 24:06And like you said, David, the apparent delay
- 24:09is to God's glory and for our good.
- 24:11I like to tell people, if Christ came on Tim Moore's timing, he would have been here 25 years ago because I was ready for him then.
- 24:18But a lot of your viewers today may be...
- 24:21didn't come 25 years ago lest they would have been left behind.
- 24:26So even His delay is a demonstration of His mercy and grace because the Father knows when that last person will join the church and that's something I praise Him for.
- 24:36But I'm ready to go whenever He calls, either at the rapture or me individually.
- 24:41You made a great point.
- 24:42God wants all to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
- 24:46So his patience means salvation.
- 24:49God's delay means more people are hearing and receiving and believing in Christ.
- 24:54They're hearing the gospel, and they're getting into the kingdom.
- 24:57They wouldn't have had that opportunity if Jesus would have returned 20 years ago, as you said.
- 25:02That's exactly right.
- 25:03Yeah, we do have to have that.
- 25:05It's hard—
- 25:06It's not impossible, but it is challenging, especially with the scoffers, to continue to cultivate, keep our heads straight, keep our eyes on Christ, and to cultivate that eternal perspective and the sense of urgency.
- 25:21It's imminent, right?
- 25:22But we also need to be aware of people that are human in the church that are doubting for whatever reason, and we need to know how to minister to them.
- 25:31Tim, we just have two minutes left.
- 25:32Just go ahead, your final thoughts and whatever.
- 25:34Yeah, a final thought.
- 25:35I think that we, back to the point of guarding our hearts, soaking ourselves in the Word of God so that we do not listen to or get called off by the deception Satan is constantly whispering.
- 25:47But it also means guarding our mouths.
- 25:49And I use the apostle Peter as a perfect example, because in Matthew 16, he was the first to confess to Jesus Christ, you are the Christ, the son of the living God.
- 25:58And Jesus said, good on you, Peter.
- 26:00Basically, the father revealed this to you, but you have been faithful to confess the truth.
- 26:05But yet just a few verses later, upon hearing that Jesus was going to be crucified and died, Peter pulled him aside and had the audacity to rebuke the Lord and say, no, Lord, it will not happen.
- 26:16You will not die.
- 26:18No.
- 26:18Well, there's an echo all the way from the garden, you will not die, and it was a lie.
- 26:24And so what did Christ respond to Peter?
- 26:27Get thee behind me, Satan.
- 26:29Folks, if we're not careful, we can be deceived and we can become mouthpieces of deception.
- 26:35So we need to make sure that the words we utter are...
- 26:37are in accordance with the Word of God, and that they are glorifying God, and not seeking after our will, as Peter was in that moment, are Satan's deception, because even a follower of Christ can be a deceiver in the moment of uttering things that are untrue in accordance with the Word of God.
- 26:56Yeah.
- 26:56Amen, brother.
- 26:57And Peter was one you would think would have gotten it.
- 27:00But what else did Jesus say?
- 27:02You don't have in mind the things of God.
- 27:04You have in mind the things of man.
- 27:06So we see things our way and sometimes want things our way.
- 27:08The things we think, the way we think they should work out.
- 27:11But God's plan, God's will is always better.
