[upbeat rock music] Hello, everybody.
0:17
Welcome to Full Spectrum Cycling Podcast number 19. 19. Old enough to vote, but not old enough to drink. [laughs] I'll drink to that. [laughs] Yeah, man. Cycling weather today. Oh, yeah. Finally. For real.
0:38
It was, uh, in the 80s today. Very nice. Indeed it was. I tell you, riding the electric bike is so nice when it's hot out. You just don't have to work as hard if you don't want to. [laughs] Or you go really, really fast.
0:52
And then the wind is really, really nice in your face. Mm-hmm. So it's beautiful all around. Right on, right on. So how are you boys? We got, uh, JK- Yep... as always, and- Hello, hello... Mr. Tony Burger. Greetings.
1:06
On the other side of the table, drinking the All Day IPA [laughs] per usual. [laughs] You know, if you, if you gotta drink something every day, it might as well be All Day IPA. True that.
1:17
Tony bro- Tony brought in some, uh- Not lying, I'm not advertising... jerky. Ghost Pepper jerky from our favorite meat market, Held's, in Slinger, Wisconsin. Slinger.
1:27
They got a nice ski hill there that they use for the bombing down of the bicycles on it. Is that on the Little Switzerland- Yeah, yeah... mm-hmm. Yeah, I don't know how often they do it.
1:35
Once a month maybe they have an, uh, an event that they bomb down the hill. Years ago I worked at Winter Park, Colorado, and they in fact convert the, uh, the chair lifts to put racks in the back and you just...
1:46
It's the easiest mountain biking you'll ever do. Yeah, for sure. Nice lockdown hill. Lifts served, and, uh, ice cream at the top of the hill. Yep. It's the best thing in the world. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
1:57
So what do you guys remember from the last couple weeks since we talked to our fellow listener last? Hmm, I have something that's not bike related, but I will see Daikaiju anywhere within, like, I don't know,
2:11
50 to 100 miles. Yeah. What a great show that was. It is bike related. We biked down there. We biked down there. We did bike down there. Yeah. That is true, so we can work that in. [laughs] Daikaiju, folks, look it up.
2:21
Yeah. I'll put a link on the show notes to, uh, some kinda Apple iMusic or Spotify. It's absolutely incredible. Attacked Milwaukee. Attacked. Twice. Go. Oh, my. Yes. Yes. Yes. That was ambitious.
2:34
So at that show, 'cause I just talked to JK over to the Uptowner yesterday, he said there was a guy at the show that, uh, is hiring them to do a private party in Northern Wisconsin somewhere that we're all invited to.
2:47
[laughs] Folks, if you get a chance to see Daikaiju- See Daikaiju... go, go see them... if you have the means, I highly recommend it. Right? It is so choice. So I, I talked to Vince at Chumba today.
3:00
He was a- actually gonna be on the show today, but he's going to be on in two weeks because he had a commitment, family-oriented, that he needed to take care of.
3:09
I asked him if he'd gone to Empire, whatever the place is down there in Austin when Daikaiju's down there. He goes, "Dai-who-ha?" So I said, "Dude- Plant the seed... if, if you get to see them, go see them." Yes.
3:20
They will become the new, the new old since '95 or 7 or whenever they started band, but- The energy's incredible... energy. The energy's just incredible.
3:29
I don't know if the, the bands that were leading up to it were like, "Oh, we're playing with these guys, so we gotta amp up our, our game," but the opening bands were actually pretty good, too. Oh, hell yeah. Yeah.
3:39
I agree. It was a good show all the way around. Roboman, uh, what was it? Tummyache? Tummyache. Tummyache was fantastic. Uh, Billy Dreamer. Billy Dreamer was the guitar smasher, right? Yeah, I think so. Yeah.
3:50
Oh, is that what it was? Yeah. I thought that was Tummyache. Oh, Tummyache was the- The-... woman drummer? Nope. That was the dude that just had three words to his songs. That's great. He had the- The first band?
4:01
He had the dress on and everything. Oh, really? Yeah. The... Yeah, okay. I remember that now. I was trying to figure out if there was more than three words. Right. [laughs] I, I thought there was just one.
4:10
Die, death, and maybe fuck. I'm not sure. [laughs] Oh, see I thought it was all die. Well, yeah. [laughs] Die! Die! Still, they were... The, the band was awesome, so... Anyway, I think they're more local though.
4:20
They are. So Daikaiju's nationwide, folks. They go hither and yon at will. Yeah. And, uh, will be coming back through this way later in the year, up to Minneapolis and whatnot, too, so
4:30
see 'em if they're in your neighborhood. Yes. Enjoy it and ride your bike there. We had a Fat Tire Tour 35. That happened. That did happen since we last talked. Yeah. That was a beautiful day. Yeah.
4:45
It was for considering they were saying the weather wasn't gonna be good, the weather was very, very good. And, uh- Got a little chilly, but- I got a story started.
4:52
Hopefully, by the time people hear this thing it'll be up on the website. You know, the Everyday Cycles blog. There was a, you know, your typical shenaniganry and, and stopping at breweries and whatnot along the way.
5:05
It's gotten so big, so huge, that we need to be at spots that are accommodating of several hundred people. Yeah, it was at, uh...
5:14
Now that we've actually done it, we can say where we were, but Gathering Place Brewery was butts to guts. [laughs] I mean, it was a struggle to get a beer. I didn't even go inside. Yeah, you were probably lucky.
5:24
I might... I stayed outside the whole time. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I think I went to use the, the restroom. That was- Gauntlet... and, and that was a sprinting gauntlet through. Mm-hmm. Yep.
5:31
[laughs] Yeah, our, uh, our beer coasters today are a homage to another one of the- Yeah, yeah... the places, City Lights Brewing. Also worth checking out. The first, the first two stops. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, that's true.
5:42
[laughs] Well, and if you, if you get into Milwaukee and you're a skater, it's right next to the Four Seasons Skate Park, so- Yeah... you got that going for you. Yep, yep. It's a neat looking brewery.
5:51
Beers aren't half bad. Food's all right. Yeah, I thought the- It's fine. I'd go again... I thought the organizers, uh,
5:57
Jason and Amanda Manders, who put on the event now, um- Did a pretty good job considering that the city of Milwaukee called them the night before at 6:00 and said, "Oh, by the way, we're canceling the big event you guys had planned in Juneau Park."
6:11
[laughs] Yeah. So figure something else out to do [laughs] Yeah... with y- with your 500 people. C- 'cause the weather might be bad. It turned out that they were completely wrong about that, but- Oh, indeed...
6:21
I guess maybe the city's a little more worried about lightning strikes than some clowns on bicycles. [laughs] Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So yeah, so that happened. What else? Well, um, I have bling show and tell. Please.
6:37
[laughs] Some new stuff came in the shop, and it was kinda blingy. We- we'll just look at it real quick, and then I'll, I'll... We'll show you pictures on the web. Yeah.
6:45
[laughs] First up, a set of Onyx Racing gold- Oh... fat bike hubs. [laughs] Look at those puppies right there. Oh, my. Oh, jeepers creepers.
6:56
If anybody, if you don't know Onyx Racing and you want the best hubs out there- You buy Onyx... you probably wanna go Onyx. They're, uh, they have a really unique engagement system that's completely pawl, pawl-less.
7:08
So there are in- infinite engagement number of points. So the only way you can get that with a pawl is if your name is Paul? Right. Yes. Wow. That would be my guess.
7:20
I think they'll even laser-etch your name on there if you wanna say, "My hub has pawl." [laughs] You could probably have 'em put it on there. Hmm. These folks are in Minnesota.
7:28
Uh, they make this stuff right here in 'Merica. 'Merica. This is gonna be on Sam's, uh, fat bike right here. Yeah, I figured that. I- they, they're sexy. Far sexier than Sam. Yeah, I said that.
7:38
[laughs] I had a great picture of him at some show. Maybe it was Die Hard Zero. It was, yeah. It was Die Hard Zero. Where, where he was just kind of a ghost going by.
7:47
I'm like, "Wow, that's how everybody sees Sam, actually." [laughs] Yeah, he had a, he had a Maynard, Maynard James Keenan vibe looking [laughs] on that night. [laughs] I remember going by him like, "Dude, tool, man."
8:00
[laughs] I'm, I'm wonder, is he gonna make the, uh, the, the, the goat boat trip we're doing? I don't know. Oh, I'm wondering. He did it last year, I think.
8:09
Uh, folks, that's coming up here if you're in, uh, Wisconsin and wanna jump on the ferry that goes across the Lake Express quickly to, uh, Muskegon, Michigan. No. Yes. Yes. Correct. Muskegon, right.
8:21
Um, where we'll be riding north on the beach the 1st through 4th of August. Join up, or heck a nay, meet us on the other side over there at, uh, what? Uh, 9:00, 9:30-ish on, uh, the 1st.
8:34
We'll be getting off the ferry and heading north. You're referring to the vomit comet? Is that what they call it? Yeah. [laughs] Apparently some people have been known to, uh, toss their cookies. I don't have time.
8:44
We've, I've done it twice, and it's been very- Oh, I've just-... nice... yeah, I've, I, but I've seen people struggling, like sitting at the end of the boat just, like trying to keep it together. [laughs] Yeah.
8:58
[laughs] I just didn't sit down. I just kept walking around. Yeah. All right. Here, here's- I'm like, I'm like-... please-... I'm like, "No, no, no, no, no. I'm not gonna allow myself to get seasick."
9:04
Here's bling number two. This is just for another- Oh, that's a big old Hope hub... it, it goes like this. [hub rattling] That's a Hope hub, man. [laughs] Folks- That could've been, like a test.
9:15
What- If you danged old have to have pawls in your hub, Hope's where you wanna go. This isn't- And-... this, these aren't going on a fat bike. These are going on a, uh, [hub rattling] either an Ogre or an ECR.
9:26
I don't know which bike he's gonna put 'em on, but a 29er wheel set. But they do such a beautiful job, too, over there in Barn- Barnswald, England. You, you will never have a problem with anyone getting out of your way.
9:37
All you have to do is coast. Barnswaldwick. [laughs] England. Eng- jolly old England. And by cracky, for, uh- [laughs]...
9:44
you know, a high-end hub, they're really fairly affordable compared to some of the other stuff you might wanna throw your hard-earned shekels at. Huh. And they make nice boxes, too. It goes like this.
9:54
Did you say shekels? Shekels. Wow. This is like an educational show today or something. [laughs] Man, word. Jesus.
10:03
My final bling thing just to talk about for the shop a little bit is we got the Bailey, the Bailey Works bags in. You gotta see these bags.
10:11
Hey, baileyworks.com, you can see 'em, but if you're in the area, we have a good selection and can special order any of this stuff for you. They're handmade in New Hampshire. Yeah. Been doing it for 25 years now.
10:21
Got a color swatch for you to look at and everything. Yeah, color swatch. Got a bunch of their bags, some lunch bags, some, uh, hip, hip bags, some messenger bags, some backpacks. Yeah.
10:31
But, uh, very customizable like a, like a lot of the small bag builders. They'll, they'll pimp it out the way you want it, and, uh, you'll go, "Man, that's exactly what I wanted." That's right. Even the little, uh, kinda
10:44
backpack/messenger bag looks like it could hold, like 40 beers. Yeah. You could, you could... They rate them by how much beer you can put in them. I, I think I saw that on one of their- [laughs]... advertisements.
10:54
It's a little bit, it's a little bit janky to find it, but if you go compare sizes, then you'll get a, a picture of the different sizes and how many cans of beer they will hold. [laughs] That's great.
11:05
If indeed you needed to carry beer, but you can carry other stuff, too. What? Like what? Oh. [laughs] No. That's what the frame bag's for. So- No. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:19
[laughs] Yeah, we outfitted, uh, on a little Revelate, uh, Tangle bag on our buddy Terrapin's bike today so he could carry stuff. That's a good bag. We put bags on bikes. That's what we do here. Yeah.
11:30
Pretty much, and on people, too. 'Cause, 'cause bags on bikes are awesome. Bags on people are good. Yeah, they're not bad. Yeah. As long as they're not under your eyes. Um, got some Selle Anatomica seats in, too.
11:41
Yeah, my favorite. Yeah. Yeah, so he got some stuff. And, and covers. Yeah. Rain covers for 'em and everything. Yeah, rain covers.
11:47
Around here this last several months, it'd be a nice thing to have a rain cover or two- Yeah... for yourself and your saddle. Like, I would, if it was raining out today, I wouldn't bother wearing anything rain gear-ish.
12:01
It'd just be like you're just gonna get wet inside of it anyways. Yeah, and it was hot enough that a rain would've felt really nice. For sure, but it didn't rain, so there you go.
12:09
It was about 15 degrees warmer in Madison, too. It blew Whoa Yeah, it was a hot one.
12:15
Well, we got a b- we got a lake breeze, uh, mid-afternoon that just kinda shifted around and it dumps it down 10 or 15 degrees here- Sure does... right a- right along the shore of the good old Lake Michigan there, folks.
12:24
Mm-hmm, yeah. Speaking of the shore of Lake Michigan, uh, I know there's folks from all over the world here now for Summerfest, which started today. Ooh. Self- self-proclaimed largest music festival in the world.
12:37
10, nine, 10 days. Some, some long amount- It's like-... of days. I think it's 10 days now... like, how many bands? The band number's insane this year. It- it's- it's unfathomamama-ble. Yeah, it's... Like, 1,000?
12:48
Ooh, there's a good sound going by. [laughs] I don't... Is it really? It could very well be 1,000 if you consider...
12:54
Well, especially if you throw in all the people that the, you know, the groups that set up outside just to play for, for pittance. Yeah, and some of the smaller stages- Yeah...
13:02
like the Rebel Stage- Rebel Stage, Refuge... and a couple of the other smaller stages. Yeah. I- I'm, I'm gonna plug a band- Plug... that's gonna be coming.
13:09
They are called, um, as soon as I remember their name, 'cause I'm drawing a full mental blank right now. And plug. Uh- And unplug... Immortal Girlfriend- Huh. Name sounds familiar...
13:20
is a really great Milwaukee two-piece band. Uh, they each play multiple instruments, so they'll, like, change instruments in the middle of a song or, uh, and they're two brothers. They're... It's a, it...
13:32
I saw them open for Wild Belle and they were, they blew my mind. Nice. This is- Awesome. Well, if anybody is in town for Summerfest, come by the shop, say howdy.
13:41
We're only two miles away approximately f- as the crow flies from the- Straight up the bike trail... festival grounds, right off the bike path there. Yep. Good bike parking down there. Great place to ride your bike to.
13:52
Yeah. Oh yeah. Don't drive to Summerfest, man. Heck no. That, you're gonna spend hours getting out of there if you stay till the end of the night. You, you park- On a bike, you're out in three minutes.
13:59
You could even, like, park it in Riverwest, say, at the, near the bike shop or Black Husky Brewing and sh- do a quick trip over the bridge and you're on the path and heading to Summerfest.
14:09
And heck, you don't even need a bike. You can just grab a Bublr or s- something- You can do that too... a rental bike, uh, right out of the rack for a couple bucks and roll down there. Absolutely.
14:17
That would be a good thing to do. I did that last year. I had a friend that didn't have a bike. I said, "Hey, I got a Bublr pass. Why don't you just grab a bike and we'll go down there?" Nice. Worked out famously. Yep.
14:29
We're seeing those more and more around the city. I guess way out, out West Dallas way, they have one near Dave's house. Mm-hmm. That's crazy. Mm-hmm. Do you see that Madison electrified all theirs? No. Yep. Do tell.
14:40
Last week, I believe it was, they have released an entire set of electric Bicycles that are 17 mile an hour governed and look like a ton of fun. It's almost worth going to Madison just to ride 'em around.
14:54
[laughs] It's worth going to Madison even not to ride 'em around a lot of times. Well, I know. You can go to, they have, they have beer and stuff there. Did you know that? Yeah, heard tell. Yeah.
15:01
Got, got a bunch of stuff there. Beautiful place to ride a bike. Yeah. Multiple music venues. Yes, yes, yes. Full of very good stuff. Yes.
15:09
[clears throat] Actually, Daikaisyu attacked there, uh, the Wednesday before Friday. Oh. [laughs] Doesn't matter. Daikaisyu had a double, double shot on Friday. We should have probably in hindsight gone to both of them.
15:21
It was on my radar to do it- I know... and then it was like, "It's pretty far south." [laughs] But- I knew where I was... in retrospect- Right...
15:29
would have been a- Next, next time they have a double header, we're going to both... yeah, for sure. [siren blaring] And there goes the sheriff 'cause he don't like it. Yep. Well, it's definitely summer. Yep.
15:39
Sirens are out. [laughs] The sha- the sheriff's ripping down Locust. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Mm. Uh-huh. Well- Normally the opposite direction...
15:46
well, listeners, please pause for a moment while I go check for the beer in the fridge. Cool. I'll, uh, I'll start talking about, uh, another thing that's coming up. This is in Milwaukee, uh, but it's also nationwide.
15:58
I've seen, uh, ads for it in Dallas and Houston and Seattle and San Francisco, and I think it's been on the East Coast already, but it's called the Giddyup Cycling Film Tour, a national cycling film tour.
16:12
Uh, several different, um, several different films, anywhere from a minute to 42 minutes I believe I read. There's all sorts of information on dangle website. Um,
16:23
and it is in Milwaukee on July 17th at Landmark's Downer Theater, which kinda throws me because there's a Landmark Theater and they- Well, not anymore... there's a Downer Theater. Nope. Are they... It's not... What? No.
16:38
Oriental is not part of Landmark anymore. It's now owned by the Milwaukee Film Festival. Exactly. Right. So it's only called Oriental Theater now. Big change. Yeah. Gotcha. Well, there you go.
16:48
So Landmark's Downer Theater is there in, uh, in the east side of Milwaukee, and it sounds like a worthwhile thing to do if you like films about cycling. Critical Mass is Friday, too. What am I, you know?
16:59
You have a full beer. I checked it. Oh. Well, that's my problem. I know. I should get rid of it then. Eat some jerky. You'll drink more beer. [laughs] It's, uh- I'm afeared of that jerky.
17:07
[laughs] You don't have to be afeared of it. It's good. It's just a lot. All right. I'll, I'll try one, but I may have to run. That's- It's a small one. Just wafer thin. Yeah. Oh. Now it's been flavored.
17:18
[laughs] Seasoned. Shop floor flavoring. Seasoned, seasoned by the floor. [laughs] So I guess at this film festival, the headliners of these things, I think these both are in the neighborhood of, you know, 45 minutes.
17:31
One is called Shared Territory: An Icelandic Adventure, and one's called In Amy's Footsteps: A Tribute to Amy Dombroski. So those are the, uh, the headlining films, and then there's several supporting films.
17:44
Homestretch Foundation: Year One. I don't know what Nevad 1000... I think that's a ride across Switzerland or somewhere over there. It's somewhere in the not United States. There's a big old long thing. Why We Cycle.
17:56
That word I can't pronounce. [laughs] So, uh, yeah. Yeah, the, uh, in Amy, Amy's footsteps. Mm-hmm. It sounds terribly familiar. Sure does. Like there, like, like there was a, uh, event over at Lakefront Brewery.
18:09
There was something in the past- Oh, she was a cyclist. I know she passed away around 2013. I don't know the-... the details- Yeah, yeah...
18:14
I assume that this here- That's why I'm- We- Yeah, it's ringing- We'll, we'll hip you to that It's- Uh, it's giddy up- Ringin' bells... giddyuptour.com. You can get up some information on your, um, web browsing device.
18:26
Speaking of web browsing devices, because we're all, you know, dysfunctional here at the shop, we have to use at least two browsers. Sometimes I use three browsers, so try to use the different browsers.
18:36
It's very interesting. Why, on Chrome, I don't know if it happens on a Windows machine, do you have to hold... Well, you, you can't just Command + Q, you have to hold it down for a while for it to quit.
18:47
It says right on there, "Hold to quit," not just flick it like every other freaking- What's Command + Q? I'm a Windows guy. It's the same thing as Alt + Q or whatever you have, your other key.
18:56
It's your, it's your right-click. And now, you know, you hold it down, and you go... Command + S is save. Command + Q is quit. It's the same thing as whatever your sh- shortcut- Control... same thing. Command.
19:08
I command you. [laughs] I control you. I command you to control your computer. [laughs] [laughs] Yeah, I don't know which is better. I think I com- commanding is more of a human, human quality than controlling probably.
19:20
But you control the computer, you don't command it. As a human, you don't wanna control anything, 'cause that's bad these days. Yeah. [laughs] Jesus Christ, now it's getting phil- philosophical in here.
19:30
[laughs] Eat your damn jerky. Hey, I'll tell you this, somebody had to think of that, because otherwise it would've been control on here too, or command on there. Right. So someone came up with that.
19:39
Yeah, just to be different. I got control over here, but it doesn't do the same thing. Hmm. And then I got alt. Yeah, that's hot. [laughs] It's delicious hot, though. Yeah.
19:57
Um, it makes me wanna keep eating it. Yeah... because once you eat something hot, you just have to keep mowing it down. They actually also have now have, um, Carolina Reaper jerky.
20:07
[laughs] And they asked me if I wanted some, and I had to just politely say, "No." No mas- That's, that-... the reaper jerky... yo, that is just insane.
20:16
Well, I imagine Helz ships this stuff too, 'cause they have a dang old website. Yeah, they do. They ship it all over the United States. 'Cause, you know, I mean, you...
20:24
It's not gonna go bad between here and Kentucky- Right... or wherever you live. The, the jalapeno... I'm sorry, the habanero summer sausage is outstanding. Try that piece.
20:35
[laughs] I'm gonna try it again and see if I die this time. Um, Friday is Critical Mass. I believe it starts at 7:00. Critical Mess? Critical Mass. Um- I'm- I don't usually do it, but- I'm, I'm am-...
20:52
I might go see the spectacle-... I'm ambivalent about it... 'cause it starts out in River West.
20:55
Uh, I'm one of those people that doesn't like attention called to me when I'm riding, so I sorta just slide between the cracks and ooze down the alleys and- [laughs]...
21:06
you know, if I have to deal with cars, I just ignore them and go where they're not. Critical Mass seems like it's a thumb in the face of... I don't know. I'm, I'm merely throwing it out there. I've actually- Yeah...
21:20
never done it. Yeah. Wait, I did it once. Yeah, geez. I did it once a long time ago when I was young. Yeah. Thought it'd be cool. It was cool back then. Yeah. That's control, not command. [laughs] Probably.
21:32
[laughs] Kinda like the underpants ride. All right, that piece was pretty good. Didn't we... Is that it- A little spottier though... since... No, you, we did that last episode, was the underpants and the, uh,
21:41
and the meetup for the, uh, uh... What's the thing that goes in Bayview that, uh- Tour de Farce. Tour de Farce. Thank you. Bayview. That's the new, uh, that's the new east side down there in Bayview. [laughs] Bite me.
21:55
[laughs] I bet anybody that moves here from hipster wherever else that they are in the country, Bayview's gonna be where they head. Good. [laughs] Oh, hey.
22:07
So that's- Speaking of people- That's the one that had the, uh, the fun derailing issue, and ended up having to just coast and walk all the way back [laughs] from- Oh... right around Champions. Like, oh my...
22:19
Or actually outside Jamo's. Well, at least you were up in the east side then. It just... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It could've been so much worse.
22:26
[laughs] Well, then you just stick your foot, one foot in the pedal and just shuffle along like a skateboard. Exactly. That's what it was.
22:33
Or you could lower your seat and paddle like you're on a, a- Oh, that sounds terrible... what do they call those little bikes? The little Striders? Right. Yeah. Yeah. [laughs] What are those called? Man. Strider.
22:42
Strider, Strider. [laughs] They don't have pedals. What are they? They have a more generic term. Strider's a company. Come on, what are they? Striders. Okay. [laughs] Time's up. I'm going with Strider for now. Strider.
22:55
I'm sure you folks can fill us in as to what those are actually called. Yeah. Uh, people are leaving town. Well, at least- People are coming to town too... one out of three people at this table are leaving town.
23:05
How weird. That's right. We're losing JK for a little bit. Yeah. You kinda sneak in and out before you even miss a show, don't ya? Exactly, yeah. [laughs] That's kinda me. We work that way. Yeah, yeah.
23:15

24:47
That's the other beer I was gonna buy. That's a good beer. That's not a farty beer like the other stuff you bought? I don't know. [laughs] Yeah, Jared, you at, uh, Truly still? Yep.
24:56
Truly Smokin', folks, right down the street, especially- [laughs]... awesome on your, uh, on your older fare. They do a good job all over the place on bike repair. That rhymed. Right? Yeah.

25:18
Oh, Dave left a caliper here for me. Oh, hey. Well, you guys talk amongst yourselves. I, I know where that is. Oh, caliper. What's that? [laughs] A Hayes brake caliper. A Hayes brake caliper.

I mean, if you go to Virginia Beach, you damn well better be eating some tasty seafood. Oh, yeah. Yeah. There's like one bar on- Give, give Jared a chunk of this, uh, ghost pepper, uh- He, he just had some. Oh, okay.
26:02
That's pretty good. Yeah. [laughs] Well, it's a little bit sweaty for me, but it's good. [laughs] It's gonna come through in the end there. It's good. So about... Yours is that caliper from about '95 probably, '97?
26:14
It's a Hayes old school. The client's a 2000. 2000 Klein. Klein. Okay. So yeah, they pr- It's probably from like late '90s. I have those on my four banger. They're heavy but they're really good. Yeah.
26:30
Some people still have them in their parts bin at home, Dave. Dave. [laughs] Diamond Dave. These are hard to come by. Yes, they are, and they're not getting any cheaper either. Nope. So. Well, [sighs] we did it again.
26:44
Basically wasted a half hour of these good people's time. Sweet. [sighs] Oh, hey. I feel that. I do. And, but speak of between now and next show, [clicks tongue] uh, January. January? Jesus.

27:31
It's in my wheelhouse, not at The Wheelhouse. Oh. [laughs] Where is The Vibe? 'Cause that con- that confused me because Milanuck's Wheelhouse used to be down at the end of Holton Street. It was. Yes.
27:39
So now there's a Wheelhouse there- Yeah, down... and a Wheelhouse over there and- The Family Dollar. The r- That Riverworks- Gotcha... plaza thing... gotcha. Thank you. That, that, that rings a bell.
27:46
Across the street from The Wheelhouse. [laughs] Yeah, exactly. So in other words, right across the street from where I just said. Yeah. Okay. Exactly. So, I mean, this thing is funded. It's, it's gonna happen.
27:53
Yeah, yeah. And it's just a matter of exactly what form it takes. Nice. But, um- I guess the... Yeah. Ne- It'll be a low- Next year is kinda the target to- Right... get it up and going, but- Cool...

28:29
Uh, we'll have Vince from Chumba for sure, and we were talking about getting Alexandra on, who's currently leading the ladies' race at the Tour Divide on a single speed, in cutoff blue jeans and wearing chukka boots on her feet.
28:43
Nice. And- Some people have too much goddamn talent. Yeah, she is just amazing. So, uh, we'll talk to Vince and, and p- possibly Alex.
28:51
We'll have her on for sure at some point, but I don't know if we'll get her next week 'cause she's working pretty hard at the Tour Divide right now, and, uh, actually in first place, at least as of this morning, which is, uh, the 26th, so they're three-quarters of the way done with this thing at least.
29:05
Wow. And then the, uh, Tour of America's Dairyland is ripping on through the- Yep... the town here. Kits and Carbon. Tomorrow in Shorewood. Kits and Carbon slamming into the walls. Yep.

29:36
yep, yep. Oh, do they? Okay. You know, one of my, uh, former coworkers over at Spike Brewing, uh, mentioned that she always watches it from the Pizza Man balcony since it was moved there. Mm-hmm.
29:47
Like, that's a pretty fantastic spot to watch that race. Sounds good. Yeah. Lots of fun, and sort of elitist if you ask me. Yeah, well, I- [laughs] You just go in the parking garage across the street too.
29:58
That's probably cheaper. Hell yeah. Yep. Yeah. Take your bike up there, do a little, uh- Slap a Downer beverage... a little parking, uh, parking lot climbing- Mm-hmm, mm-hmm... up and down the ramps. Always, always fun.
30:09
