- 0:00SPEAKER_03: Alright, so I was thinking that um the show's become stale, right?
- 0:04SPEAKER_03: And we need what we need.
- 0:06SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes.
- 0:08SPEAKER_03: Thanks for the coke.
- 0:08SPEAKER_03: Um worries.
- 0:10SPEAKER_03: Right, so I think the show's got a bit stale and we need to do something to spice it up, right?
- 0:14SPEAKER_03: It's boring, right?
- 0:15SPEAKER_03: We're doing the same stuff, we just talk about computer games.
- 0:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but like that is the sort of podcast where a lot of video game podcasts.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, are we?
- 0:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 0:23SPEAKER_03: You know, we because we could be doing more, is what I'm saying.
- 0:28SPEAKER_02: Like we'll get to my section of the podcast.
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right.
- 0:31SPEAKER_02: So what I was thinking is And we'll talk about that because we've got a YouTube expansion, you know.
- 0:36SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 0:36SPEAKER_03: Well what what I was thinking is that maybe we can introduce some funny comedy characters into the mix, you know.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: That'd be great.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: I thought that was our job really.
- 0:46SPEAKER_03: Oh wait, here's one now.
- 0:47SPEAKER_03: Oh look, Sean, it's Camp David.
- 0:49SPEAKER_03: Hello, Camp David.
- 0:52SPEAKER_03: Hello.
- 0:53SPEAKER_03: Um, what did you have for breakfast, Camp David?
- 0:56SPEAKER_03: Um, mints.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Right, no, look.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Look, I didn't think I was gonna.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: You were so you were supposed to do like a funny voice.
- 1:04SPEAKER_03: Like mints.
- 1:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, see?
- 1:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like now you're getting the idea.
- 1:08SPEAKER_03: Should we do that again?
- 1:09SPEAKER_03: Should we give it one more go?
- 1:23SPEAKER_03: Hello and welcome to Lucky and Wild.
- 1:25SPEAKER_03: It's a podcast about fighting games and the video games that didn't cost 60 pounds only to disappoint you.
- 1:30SPEAKER_03: My name is Harrison Hunt, and with me is Sean Hunt.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: Go on in and Camp David.
- 1:35SPEAKER_03: Uh he's not here.
- 1:36SPEAKER_03: He's got tired.
- 1:38SPEAKER_03: We've shot him out the back.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: Why do you always come up with bad ideas?
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: What are you talking about?
- 1:43SPEAKER_02: I mean, apart from like creating this podcast.
- 1:47SPEAKER_03: That's one of the bad ideas, to be honest with you.
- 1:49SPEAKER_03: Um, right, so today we've got your feedback, we've got what you've been playing, and of course, we're gonna be doing the news and our radio style items in getting lucky and going wild.
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: Then we'll conclude the show with um some mail from uh the listeners.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: Does that sound fun?
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, that's good.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: That's good.
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: That's a podcast, man.
- 2:06SPEAKER_03: Let's do it.
- 2:07SPEAKER_03: It is a podcast.
- 2:08SPEAKER_03: We can say that about it.
- 2:09SPEAKER_03: Right, let's do some feedback.
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: What are you saying?
- 2:15SPEAKER_03: Ghost, they say top five dogs in gaming.
- 2:18SPEAKER_03: That one dog that Peter Molyneux promised as a complete surprise to the entire development team that meant they had to then crunch for ages just before release to add in a dog because this idiot promised a dog that didn't exist, right?
- 2:29SPEAKER_03: So he is it Peter Molyneux was in an interview and he went, There's a dog in the game.
- 2:32SPEAKER_03: It's yeah it's gonna be sad.
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: I'll tell you that for free.
- 2:35SPEAKER_03: Suddenly his entire team has to crunch and put a dog in the game.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: I mean, it was it was I mean, it wasn't the best dog.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: He did promise a lot with this dog, to be honest.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but it's a very but the thing is Well, I did it did flash in my mind as one of the dogs, but you know, then I remember.
- 2:50SPEAKER_03: But it is a very um iconic moment in in gaming for that reason, though, isn't it?
- 2:55SPEAKER_03: It's one of Peter Molyneux's lies that actually sort of had to come true because um it like you promise a dog in a game, it's gotta be in there.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: It was just half the dog that it was, but it's half the dog it could have been.
- 3:08SPEAKER_03: It was still he maybe he should have planned ahead for the dog instead of no surprise dogs.
- 3:12SPEAKER_03: That's what developers hate.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: Still maybe, maybe.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: Um the one of the best bits of Fable 2 was the dog.
- 3:20SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, and that's so you know, yeah his development team can shut the f stop their whining because it's the best dog.
- 3:27SPEAKER_03: And they continue.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: I was just listening to the latest podcast, and there's an Ocarina that you can play like a controller for the Ocarina of Time remake.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: I take back what I said about no companies these days having cool interactive merch.
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: And they're quite right.
- 3:40SPEAKER_03: I mean, it is cool, it's a cool little toy if you're into that stuff.
- 3:43SPEAKER_03: But I just think you and I are sort of over that period of our lives.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm no, I mean I I'm not.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: I just can tell that Nintendo they don't care.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: They don't really care about our stuff, and uh they're just trying to get money from people by selling nostalgia back to them again.
- 3:59SPEAKER_03: But then who isn't doing that nowadays?
- 4:02SPEAKER_03: I mean, Nintendo are really the worst at the worst offenders for it, yes.
- 4:06SPEAKER_03: But also you know it's gonna be a cheap, crappy thing.
- 4:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 4:09SPEAKER_03: But at the very least, if you want to have a little memento for the game, then it's there, right?
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: I'm glad they're still doing it in a way, though.
- 4:15SPEAKER_03: But I just think it actually is going to make the game less immersive if you use it as a controller.
- 4:20SPEAKER_03: But for something that will sit on a shelf and look nice, oh yeah.
- 4:23SPEAKER_03: Because the thing is you have to put the controller down to play it, then pick it back up.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: It's not taking you out of the game to put you back in, then out, then in again.
- 4:31SPEAKER_03: I'd have it on the shelf because I'd like Nintendo giving you the in-out, in-out treatment.
- 4:35SPEAKER_02: I mean, I would I I because I did used to love Zelda, so I would have it on the shelf.
- 4:40SPEAKER_02: Um yeah.
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: You used to love Zelda.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: Like I used to do that.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: I used to like Pokemon as well.
- 4:45SPEAKER_03: Well, no, let's explain why you used to love Zelda, right?
- 4:48SPEAKER_03: Well, is it bad now, is it?
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: Um, well, I mean, like, I haven't like enjoyed one since uh like link between words, if I'm honest.
- 4:56SPEAKER_03: What did you think of Breath of the Wild though?
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: What did I think of it?
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: I didn't like it.
- 5:00SPEAKER_03: I didn't Well okay, yeah, yeah.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: Well, how many hours you got in that one?
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: Uh like ten hours.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: Right, Sean hasn't played Breath of the Wild.
- 5:06SPEAKER_03: Why do you always lie?
- 5:08SPEAKER_03: Um, like I've got like I understand that your credibility is like at at risk here if you haven't played Breath of the Wild, but you haven't played it.
- 5:15SPEAKER_03: Why were you lying?
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm not like a fan of that sort of stuff.
- 5:18SPEAKER_03: Well, right, right, okay.
- 5:19SPEAKER_03: So you didn't play it because you didn't like the look of it.
- 5:21SPEAKER_03: Why not say that?
- 5:22SPEAKER_03: I've played a bit of it, like Oh yeah?
- 5:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:26SPEAKER_03: Um just just it's just a quick one.
- 5:28SPEAKER_03: What's one of the powers in the game, please?
- 5:30SPEAKER_03: Uh like bombs, yeah.
- 5:31SPEAKER_03: Mm-mm.
- 5:32SPEAKER_03: What's what uh okay, well everyone knew that was gonna be in there.
- 5:34SPEAKER_03: What's what's the other one?
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: Just name one other?
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: Uh like just one?
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: Like what you can put shit together and that.
- 5:40SPEAKER_03: I mean I've Ah well in Breath of the Wild you could.
- 5:42SPEAKER_03: Like I've That's interesting.
- 5:43SPEAKER_03: Tell me more about that.
- 5:44SPEAKER_03: I've played it in and out like I've got So you could attach different objects together in in Breath of the Wild, could you?
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: I mean you could, yeah.
- 5:50SPEAKER_02: You could build that.
- 5:51SPEAKER_02: That's cool.
- 5:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: Tell me more about that.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: You could build like um you could build whatever you wanted, really.
- 5:56SPEAKER_03: In Breath of the Wild.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: What did you build what did you build in Breath of the Wild then?
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: Uh I didn't really.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: I mean, I've like I played it in VR and I like I got a bit sick.
- 6:04SPEAKER_03: Interesting.
- 6:05SPEAKER_03: In VR, yeah?
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean don't miss.
- 6:07SPEAKER_03: Breath of the Wild, that one, yeah?
- 6:08SPEAKER_03: You played that in VR.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but I think it's very interesting.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: It wasn't very legal.
- 6:12SPEAKER_03: That's interesting.
- 6:13SPEAKER_03: Alright, well, listeners, um, obviously you've you've noticed all the holes in Sean's story there.
- 6:18SPEAKER_03: Just message in and tell him how wrong he is, um, and how and that he clearly has not fucking played it.
- 6:23SPEAKER_04: Lucky and Wild Podcast.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Creamy.
- 6:27SPEAKER_03: That's a nice time.
- 6:28SPEAKER_03: Um Mamson comes in, he says, I'm down for a fundraiser.
- 6:31SPEAKER_03: Last time we spoke about uh uh I nearly said his real name, our listener kill defences and his medical bills after he had to go to hospital for a bum knee or something.
- 6:40SPEAKER_03: And now he's got 35k on medical expenses or something, right?
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: So we said we're gonna do a fundraiser, right?
- 6:46SPEAKER_03: So what should what how are we gonna raise some fun for?
- 6:49SPEAKER_03: Obviously, we we will keep the money because we need it for podcast hosting fees.
- 6:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we do.
- 6:53SPEAKER_03: But he is gonna have a nice time.
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: He's gonna have a nice time.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: Just um What should we do?
- 6:58SPEAKER_03: 24 hour stream while you play Breath of the Wild for the first time.
- 7:02SPEAKER_02: Do we have to do it or does he have to Well, he's doing his own fundraiser now?
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: So can we just direct him to what to do?
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: Where's he live?
- 7:10SPEAKER_03: Well, okay, so so for the so the fundraiser idea.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: Where does he live for a star?
- 7:15SPEAKER_03: Uh Arizona.
- 7:17SPEAKER_03: Ah well, I've ideas.
- 7:24SPEAKER_03: Um carries on.
- 7:27SPEAKER_03: He says, uh, did you know that Mr.
- 7:28SPEAKER_03: Beast has released a book with James Patterson?
- 7:30SPEAKER_03: Did you know this?
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I looked in the note.
- 7:32SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 7:33SPEAKER_03: Um you looked at the note?
- 7:35SPEAKER_03: Well done, mate.
- 7:35SPEAKER_03: Um, but anyway, uh he says, Sean, read this and review it on the podcast.
- 7:39SPEAKER_03: Would you be up for reading that?
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: Sort of like brain brain rot.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: So sort of like the OG brain rot, or maybe like, I don't know, like, you know, those Victorian penny books or whatever, probably.
- 7:49SPEAKER_02: But James Patterson is like the original AI, isn't it?
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: He's like human AI.
- 7:53SPEAKER_03: He more or less is, because do you know that he doesn't m write most of his books?
- 7:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:57SPEAKER_03: Like, like, and his his sort of production team were trying to say, no, he puts a lot of work in.
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: And one of them sort of publicly said, no, he sometimes writes up to 50 pages of notes to give to his ghost authors to write.
- 8:09SPEAKER_03: It's like, wow, 50 pages, as opposed to the you know what, 200 minimum that you would usually write for a book.
- 8:15SPEAKER_03: It must be lovely.
- 8:17SPEAKER_02: Like it doesn't even need to do that anymore, it could just put that into an AI prompt.
- 8:21SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, I I don't know, but the the thing about the Mr.
- 8:24SPEAKER_03: Beast book is so it wasn't written by James Patterson, but it's got his name on it.
- 8:27SPEAKER_03: It wasn't written by Mr.
- 8:28SPEAKER_03: Beast, but it's got his name on it.
- 8:29SPEAKER_03: So it's James Patterson and Mr.
- 8:31SPEAKER_03: Beast's ideas combining to make a book that might be the worst thing ever.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: Oh, thanks for clearing that up.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: So Miss like oh yeah, because so they it's it's just their ideas.
- 8:40SPEAKER_03: And like, from what I understand, I I've read little bits of it and it seems fucking terrible, right?
- 8:46SPEAKER_03: I've just seen excerpts being posted on Reddit and stuff like this, and it's about like basically you know Mr Beast challenges.
- 8:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:53SPEAKER_03: It's like imagine one of those, but it's it's for a lot of money, but also it saves the world.
- 8:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and so Mr Beast organising it is actually like uh he's saving the world at the same time by doing his usual YouTube thing.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: Oh that's cool, isn't it?
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, not really.
- 9:09SPEAKER_03: Well, anyway, you've got to read it uh by the next podcast.
- 9:11SPEAKER_03: To be honest, it has a low reading age, so I think you could probably get through it in about a day.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: Where's the where's the book?
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: Can I just buy it or do I have to buy it?
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: Don't buy it.
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: Um I don't really want to buy it.
- 9:22SPEAKER_03: No, no, you should absolutely buy it because you should put support authors, the ghost authors that wrote it.
- 9:27SPEAKER_03: I don't really want to support either of those.
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: Well, do not do not go to anasarchives.com, uh uh the famous book piracy website, because that's fucking out of order.
- 9:35SPEAKER_03: Do not do that.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: Alright, I won't, I won't.
- 9:37SPEAKER_03: Good.
- 9:38SPEAKER_03: Uh uh, but you will read it for next time, yeah.
- 9:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm just gonna go to Waterstains, to be honest.
- 9:42SPEAKER_03: Water yeah, yeah, yeah, Waterstones.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: It's a good bookshop, to be honest.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: We got a good one.
- 9:48SPEAKER_03: It's a good chain, it's a good chain, it's one of the great ones.
- 9:51SPEAKER_02: Um if you ever like a time like go to the one in Oxford Street, it's like the biggest bookshop in the whole of the UK.
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: It's uh it's massive.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: People just go in there to chill out, and there's actually like toys and stuff.
- 10:03SPEAKER_03: Do you not find it odd though?
- 10:04SPEAKER_03: Because I've I've been in a lot of those book ones, big ones.
- 10:07SPEAKER_03: Do you not find it odd?
- 10:08SPEAKER_03: The the the there's the coffee shops are inside of bookshops.
- 10:13SPEAKER_02: Like do you want a coffee in a bookshop though?
- 10:16SPEAKER_03: Well, what we usually do is I'll go and buy a book, then go home and read it with a coffee.
- 10:19SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, I won't read a coffee.
- 10:21SPEAKER_03: Who's buying a book, then sitting down in the shop they bought it to fucking read it?
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: Who does that?
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: That's mental.
- 10:27SPEAKER_03: No, I might.
- 10:28SPEAKER_03: Like the fact that there's comfy chairs in the one in our town, right?
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: So who's sitting there reading a book in a fucking shop?
- 10:34SPEAKER_03: That's weird.
- 10:35SPEAKER_03: I can understand it being in a library, because a library is a space for reading and borrowing books, right?
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: I might like uh like to sit down and have a coffee and put my feet up once like after like looking like getting lost in that giant shop, you know.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: It's just weird.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: It's so yeah, I know what you mean.
- 10:50SPEAKER_03: Well, that's kind of a different thing.
- 10:55SPEAKER_03: Well, if you really want to save money, go there, buy a coffee, just sit down, read the books off the shelves and put them back.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 11:00SPEAKER_03: That's a money-saving method there, or get a library card, or visit do not visit anna's archive.com.
- 11:06SPEAKER_03: Loss feedback comes in from Irena Theodore 3288.
- 11:10SPEAKER_03: She simply says poor Harrison in the Switch 2.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that is a shame.
- 11:14SPEAKER_02: Is it still plugged in?
- 11:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I've been playing the shit out of it, man.
- 11:17SPEAKER_03: I'll tell you what, I've turned a little bit of a corner with it.
- 11:19SPEAKER_03: And I there's there's one there's one reason, right?
- 11:22SPEAKER_03: Is the the original price for it was 500 quid, right?
- 11:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's way too much.
- 11:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:27SPEAKER_03: Now I got it for 200 off, right?
- 11:29SPEAKER_03: So it's 300 in a in a sale, right?
- 11:32SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes.
- 11:32SPEAKER_03: And that's as much as I paid for the Switch one.
- 11:34SPEAKER_03: I'm a perfectly fine with it.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: That's all right, yeah.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: I'll pay yeah, actually I didn't pay for the Switch one.
- 11:39SPEAKER_03: No, you did not.
- 11:39SPEAKER_03: Um, but the uh say for example, you had a budget of 500 quid, right?
- 11:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and what so what are your options nowadays to get a decent gaming machine that can play some triple A games, right?
- 11:51SPEAKER_03: Now, granted, the Switch 2 is only going to play AAA games from like five years ago, but still good AAA games, right?
- 11:57SPEAKER_03: Like Cyberpunk, Resident Evil 8, all of that shit.
- 11:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:00SPEAKER_03: But point is if you had a 500 quid budget, um, then I actually think this is the one to go for.
- 12:07SPEAKER_03: Because you couldn't get a PS5 for that money.
- 12:09SPEAKER_03: Xbox is fucking dog shit.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: Well I'd recommend I would um I mean I guess um I would have recommended Steam Decks before the Ram hike, but um But Steam Decks are a grand now.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Coming like in the news, uh there could be a price fall on those.
- 12:24SPEAKER_03: I sincerely hope yeah, because before that would have been my recommendation.
- 12:28SPEAKER_03: But current in the current landscape, right now, I actually think the Switch 2's alright.
- 12:32SPEAKER_03: Uh granted, there's not much to play on it, uh like Nintendo exclusives, which is what I would have got the machine for, right?
- 12:38SPEAKER_03: But like Cyberpunk's on there, Resident Evil 9's on there, there's some good games on there.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: Like if you don't have another machine that can play it, it's not a bad thing to have.
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: No, it's good.
- 12:47SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 12:48SPEAKER_03: The trouble is I would just play those games on PC, so it's still it's still sort of a really expensive dust gathering device, but nonetheless, I think it's a good machine.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: Yes, it's a good machine.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: It's good because yeah, your counter's pretty dust-free.
- 13:04SPEAKER_03: That's yeah, yeah.
- 13:05SPEAKER_03: I've actually used it.
- 13:06SPEAKER_03: Um, right, shall we do some news?
- 13:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 13:15SPEAKER_03: Um, EA does what they always do and shuts down a brilliant studio.
- 13:19SPEAKER_03: Free Radical.
- 13:20SPEAKER_03: Origin Systems, Bullfrog, Maxis, Visceral, Pandemic, Black Box Games, Westwood Studios.
- 13:25SPEAKER_03: These are just a handful of the studios EA has bought out.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: Some of our favourite studios of all time.
- 13:30SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 13:30SPEAKER_03: Free Radical, man, RIP.
- 13:32SPEAKER_03: But these are just a handful of the studios.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: I would just I've just got I did say Westwood in there.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: Oh no, I was just saying, like, it's just like really good.
- 13:40SPEAKER_03: I can't remember what they made.
- 13:41SPEAKER_03: What did they make?
- 13:42SPEAKER_03: Uh Red Light.
- 13:43SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 13:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 13:45SPEAKER_03: Tim Curry, his best performance ever.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, definitely.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: 100%, yeah.
- 13:49SPEAKER_03: Space! Um anyway, these are just uh I'm just to finish my sentence.
- 13:53SPEAKER_03: A handful of the studios EA has bought out, then fucked into the dirt.
- 13:57SPEAKER_03: Well, today we get to add another brilliant developer to the fuck heap, and it's Bioware.
- 14:02SPEAKER_03: Now, Bioware notably were kind of shit under EA's uh like feces covered iron fist.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: Do you think that's like so they did that on purpose?
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: They gave them shit projects so that they could run them into the ground and then just own their properties and that.
- 14:17SPEAKER_03: I I suspect that might be the case.
- 14:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 14:19SPEAKER_03: But the thing is, is that it's just that EA do they're sort of a company that designs games by committee, right?
- 14:26SPEAKER_03: It's like they have to put all of the current buzzwords into that game.
- 14:30SPEAKER_03: I mean, look how bad like Times for Thursdays 3 was a very, very good game, but that was the first one Free Radical made under EI owner EA ownership, and it was significantly worse than two.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: It was, yeah.
- 14:42SPEAKER_03: Despite being a good game, it was still good, yeah.
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but they were trying to sort of go for the Halo money at the time.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they were, and it was um kind of uh it was kind of noticeable their relationship with EA at the time, actually as well.
- 14:56SPEAKER_02: I mean, we we sort of followed all the devs and stuff, and they were sort of saying as much.
- 15:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that they had a bad time underneath, and and also that they were forced to make decisions they never previously have.
- 15:07SPEAKER_03: Like I remember we we had a mate who was a really big counter-strike player, he considered it to be the best game, right?
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: And he fucking hated consoles.
- 15:16SPEAKER_03: We got him to sit down and play Time Splitters too, and he was like, This is that I respect this game.
- 15:20SPEAKER_03: That's what he said.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:22SPEAKER_03: Now part of the reason is is because it didn't have auto aim.
- 15:24SPEAKER_03: It was a very it was a very uh like highly skilled game for uh I don't know what you would call it, like people with refined taste, I would put it, right?
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, definitely.
- 15:34SPEAKER_02: And it it ran uh it ran really well.
- 15:37SPEAKER_02: Um people in new games knew that the game was really well made.
- 15:41SPEAKER_03: But then under EA ownership, like they put a big story in there where previously there wasn't before, it was more of an arcadey experience.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: Then um they also put like things like auto aim in there, big open maps, which was never the fucking point.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't know, there's a there's a lot like you can tell the EA stink from a mile off, right?
- 16:00SPEAKER_03: Because they'll take you the game that you love, and in a lot of ways it'll be the same, but there'll be so many changes that just were antithetical to what you liked about that game, the that you you sort of you can tell EAs put their hands in that part.
- 16:14SPEAKER_03: Like you know when they made Dead Space 3?
- 16:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and it had it had sort of online style microtransactions for a single player offline game.
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: It was very odd, like buying premium ammo and stuff like this.
- 16:27SPEAKER_03: It's like the rest of the game was quite good, but just if it wasn't for their if they'd have just left them alone and let them do it, they'd still have another good game.
- 16:34SPEAKER_03: They would have made loads.
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: But yeah, they they wouldn't see that as a lot of money though, would they?
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: But yeah, as I was saying, like yeah, yeah, because everything is not enough to EA.
- 16:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: It could sell a hundred million and that wouldn't be enough.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: But um, yeah, by a way, as I mentioned, like they were shit under EA, and Mass Effect 3, for example, although brilliant, uh, was the worst one in the series.
- 16:54SPEAKER_03: Definitely.
- 16:55SPEAKER_03: Mass Effect Andromeda, the one that came after that, was even worse, and of course, Anthem, right?
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: Luckily, I never played uh either of those.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: No.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: I did see footage of Anthem, though.
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: It looked like the most boring game ever.
- 17:06SPEAKER_03: But then but why did EA ask Bioware to make a live service Destiny like when they've never made something like that?
- 17:14SPEAKER_03: It's it's baffling to me.
- 17:15SPEAKER_03: They're like Bioware, the people that specialise in uh story-driven role-playing games, so in well, mostly in space, they're like, those guys need to make Destiny.
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: I mean, what fucking sense does that make?
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: It's it's out it's outrageous.
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: But yeah.
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: And who would have wanted to like commit to that as well, like you know, player-wise as well.
- 17:33SPEAKER_03: Well, exactly, when Destiny already existed.
- 17:36SPEAKER_03: EA was like, people like that, let's do that again.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: Now, of course, EEA have uh really uh never learned their lesson, and so you know, now Bioware is dead.
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: They bought them on, like they do with every company, bought them and then made them make something they're not good at or not um what made that company special, and then fucked them into the dirt.
- 17:57SPEAKER_03: So uh Bioware is now dead.
- 17:59SPEAKER_03: Although, to be honest, you I've seen a lot of news stories about this, and they're all talking about RIP Bioware.
- 18:06SPEAKER_03: To be honest, let's let's be honest with ourselves, it did die a while ago, didn't it?
- 18:10SPEAKER_03: They haven't made a good game for about 15 years.
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it did.
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, um But it's sad to know that now we will never get another good mass effect.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:19SPEAKER_03: Like there's always that sort of hope that Or Dragon Age as well.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: Or another Dragon Age.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, wasn't Dragon Age 2 also under EA's yeah, that was pretty bad.
- 18:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 18:27SPEAKER_03: I mean, what's funny is I love Dragon Age 2, and it is dog shit, and it does reuse the same areas over and over again.
- 18:33SPEAKER_03: But uh I had recently received a head injury and I didn't notice, so I quite liked it.
- 18:38SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, it's perfect.
- 18:40SPEAKER_03: But um But you know, you always hold out hope that at some point the EA's gonna go, do you know what?
- 18:45SPEAKER_03: We we did a big mistake.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: You guys make your dream Mass Effect game.
- 18:49SPEAKER_03: Here's a load of money.
- 18:49SPEAKER_03: I mean it would never happen, but you sort of hope a bit, don't you?
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: Either that or like another like sort of RPG, like with the DD 3.5 sorts of old school type shit Star Wars Kotor of the Old Republic through.
- 19:02SPEAKER_03: How many people would buy that?
- 19:03SPEAKER_03: How many people?
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: Why did you turn into two no, I'm not gonna say that.
- 19:06SPEAKER_03: No, no, sorry, sorry.
- 19:08SPEAKER_03: Right, yes, how many people would buy that?
- 19:11SPEAKER_03: Too many is the answer.
- 19:12SPEAKER_03: But yeah, yeah, so fucking brain dead, they don't know that.
- 19:14SPEAKER_03: They're like you could you could show them the sales figures for previous Kotor games and be like, look at these, and they'd be like, I don't know, 500 million just isn't enough.
- 19:23SPEAKER_03: We need to put Michael transactions on this.
- 19:26SPEAKER_03: Um, right, anyway, that's that's that for that story.
- 19:29SPEAKER_03: Um, RAP Bioware.
- 19:31SPEAKER_03: Sorry about what happened to you.
- 19:33SPEAKER_03: It was it's sad, isn't it?
- 19:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, very sad.
- 19:35SPEAKER_03: Um now here's a bit big news.
- 19:37SPEAKER_03: Now we are going from a sad story to another one.
- 19:39SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm afraid.
- 19:41SPEAKER_03: Shenmu 3 enhanced has been delayed.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: That's a shame.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: I am looking forward to this, to be honest.
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: What are you talking about?
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: This might be good.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: What do you mean it might be good?
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: It might be the Shenmue.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: Well, it might be the Shenmue 3 we've been looking for.
- 19:53SPEAKER_03: They should add an ending in it where you actually see Landy's face and punch it to bits.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: Oh, I'd love that.
- 19:59SPEAKER_03: But that'd be Did you see the ending to Shenmue 3?
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: No, but like this is the enhanced version.
- 20:05SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 20:05SPEAKER_03: They're not gonna add the right.
- 20:06SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna tell you right now, right, Shenmue 3, you still you do not even fight Landy yet.
- 20:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but it's like a spectrum.
- 20:13SPEAKER_03: And do you know what happens at the end?
- 20:15SPEAKER_03: No, no.
- 20:16SPEAKER_03: I'm just gonna tell you, because this I'm saving you 50 hours of rubbish here.
- 20:19SPEAKER_02: No way, like, is it how like I probably will play it to be honest?
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: Like, because it might be a new.
- 20:24SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'm just gonna tell you it doesn't it doesn't end the story.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: No, it doesn't, no.
- 20:28SPEAKER_03: But the very last thing you see in the game.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: I might like buy it just for that, really.
- 20:33SPEAKER_03: Just so that they so they finally you know, if he makes Shenmue 4, it's not gonna conclude it either.
- 20:37SPEAKER_03: We're never gonna see what happens.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: Like, after like it'd be like, oh anyway, look, shut up.
- 20:42SPEAKER_03: I am gonna spoil this ending of Shen Mu 3.
- 20:44SPEAKER_03: No, don't no, because it to be honest, the ending of Shenmue 3 has nothing to do with the plot of Shen Mu 3, and I'll tell you why.
- 20:50SPEAKER_03: Right, here's the thing at the end of Shen Mu 3, right?
- 20:53SPEAKER_03: Uh you you you finally it's a bit like you know in Shenmue 1 where the whole plot was centred around getting a train ticket to go to Hong Kong, basically.
- 21:01SPEAKER_03: The majority of the game is that, right?
- 21:03SPEAKER_03: So um Shenmu 3 is a bit like that, where it's a bit of a side story about Ryo in this uh countryside town trying to do something to find where Landy is, right?
- 21:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because he's in like the heart of China basically.
- 21:17SPEAKER_03: So although Landy is the antagonist, what you're doing is similar to Shen Ruan.
- 21:21SPEAKER_03: It's not it's it's like you're doing some working on doing the a thing, right?
- 21:26SPEAKER_03: Now, right at the end of the game, you see Landy, he escapes down a tunnel.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: That's it.
- 21:30SPEAKER_02: That's it.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: That's cool.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm up for that.
- 21:32SPEAKER_03: It would it's a bit like at the end of uh Shen Ru One.
- 21:36SPEAKER_03: Imagine if you if you got to the end and you saw Landy on a boat going to Hong Kong.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: That's it.
- 21:42SPEAKER_03: That would be his entire environment.
- 21:43SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's sort of I can picture the scene, like to be honest.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: I mean, I don't mind that because Shenmue, like it's sort of like I like the way they connect, like and then when you get off the boat on two after the first one, and but the th the third one is sort of like that again, where it's sort of a side story more about Ryo trying to achieve.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Achieve something unrelated to the fight to Landy so that he can continue to fight to pursue him.
- 22:06SPEAKER_02: I don't mind I don't mind it as long as like in four they do some like just uh watch Dunky's video on Shenri.
- 22:11SPEAKER_03: Did you know they put a stamina system into the game now, right?
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: But it might be I mean, I don't know, this enhanced stuff might fix it.
- 22:17SPEAKER_03: I sincerely hope you're right, and but I think you're too hopeful for this.
- 22:22SPEAKER_03: But um Moet Taylor's big he's the biggest like Shenri fan in the world, right?
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: Well, Shenri 3.
- 22:27SPEAKER_03: Do you know that like you have to have stamina, and when you run out, you know the walking speed, how dreadfully slow that is in Shenmue, right?
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you have to walk at that speed unless you eat food, right?
- 22:38SPEAKER_03: So, but the food you know in Shenmue is always prohibitively expensive, and you have to work for five hours to buy an egg, right?
- 22:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then and this is what happened in Shenmue 3.
- 22:48SPEAKER_03: He was saying that he spent the majority of it trying to save money to buy a single egg so that he could run from one location to another.
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: That's the that's the only annoying thing.
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: I like in the sort of late stage of the game, there's always each one, there's always a point where you have to like collect loads of money.
- 23:05SPEAKER_03: It's always such a Yeah, like I think Shenmue 1 is such a fucking good game, but like what's funny is the story really hits the ground running.
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: The first third of it, you're doing investigative work left, right, and centre, killing time at the arcade.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: And then there's a bit where you need to um go to the docks because you've heard Landy and his boys are down there, right?
- 23:23SPEAKER_03: But then to do so, you get a job as a forklift operator.
- 23:26SPEAKER_03: Then when you realise he's fled to Hong Kong, you're like, Well, I I am just a forklift operator now because I need to get save up money to follow him to Hong Kong.
- 23:35SPEAKER_03: And what's funny is it's like you just the I'd say the two last two-thirds of the game are literally just you are a forklift operator.
- 23:42SPEAKER_03: That's it.
- 23:43SPEAKER_03: That's that's the game.
- 23:44SPEAKER_03: It's a forklift operator simulator.
- 23:46SPEAKER_02: It's like sort of um a weird Japanese sort of artistic game, like in that sense, where the where you are like it's trying to make you feel like you are, you know, you go you get up and you go to this forklift.
- 23:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so it's it's trying to make you feel the grind of having to save for a boat ticket to Hong Kong by making you do exactly that.
- 24:06SPEAKER_03: You just and like a lot of it was funny.
- 24:08SPEAKER_02: It's a long walk down there each day as well.
- 24:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then do you do you remember the bit as well where it's like you you start you start each day, like all the employees like the first time you go down there and like right, newbie, this is what we do?
- 24:18SPEAKER_03: We're gonna have a uh forklift race to start the day.
- 24:21SPEAKER_03: You can fucking hell, this is fun.
- 24:22SPEAKER_03: Like the amount of cool stuff there is to do in that game, and then then after like the 50th day of going, like drudging yourself into work and having to do a fucking forklift race before you can even start for your work, it's outrageous.
- 24:34SPEAKER_02: It's such a Dana race, man.
- 24:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, could I just not please?
- 24:38SPEAKER_03: I've got the job to do, mate.
- 24:39SPEAKER_03: Sky killed my dad.
- 24:40SPEAKER_03: I'm trying to follow him Tom Kong.
- 24:42SPEAKER_03: We're racing forklifts around.
- 24:43SPEAKER_03: What are we doing?
- 24:44SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, so it's uh anyway.
- 24:47SPEAKER_03: Look, we'll uh we'll uh hopefully this in Holland's one will fix some things because I've seen people are excited about it, and I'm hoping that if they just took the stamina out, I'd probably play it.
- 24:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: Because parts of it look quite an option, you know.
- 24:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:59SPEAKER_03: SNL does a painfully unfunny skit about Zelda and GTA.
- 25:04SPEAKER_03: Nintendo is annoyed.
- 25:06SPEAKER_03: Saturday Night Live, a show that was funny by accident a few times during the 90s, has recently done a sketch about video games.
- 25:14SPEAKER_03: Now, they did do previously do another skit um a shit sketch where uh the mentally challenged alien Elon Musk played Wario in a courtroom drama about Mario getting murdered.
- 25:25SPEAKER_03: Now, if that idea seems like improv comedy slop, uh that's better as an idea than an actual practice.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Reminds me of like sort of early YouTube.
- 25:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly, like that one where Mario takes shrooms and starts killing.
- 25:40SPEAKER_03: It's very amusing.
- 25:41SPEAKER_03: Anyway, this new sketch is kind of no different to that, right?
- 25:44SPEAKER_03: It's two woefully unfunny idiots playing Link and the guy from GTA 6, I think.
- 25:49SPEAKER_03: He doesn't look anything like him.
- 25:50SPEAKER_03: And a guy is interviewing them about their upcoming video games, like their gaming's quote unquote Barbenheimer moment, right?
- 25:57SPEAKER_03: It's just a guy interview.
- 25:58SPEAKER_03: So hi, like it's a chat show.
- 26:00SPEAKER_03: That's the idea behind the sketch.
- 26:01SPEAKER_03: It's a chat show, Link's come on to promote his new game, what's his face from GTA 6 is doing the same.
- 26:06SPEAKER_03: And you know, this like idea is not only deeply this funny by itself, but seeing it brought to life, well, I'll put it this way, I was once hit by a car at quite a high speed, and it was funnier than this.
- 26:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's true, that's true.
- 26:19SPEAKER_03: Um we were treated to jokes like the GTA guy saying, Link, you're wearing a dress.
- 26:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and uh see your silence speaks volumes, but Link replies by shouting, It's not a dress, it's a tunic, which is like a dress for boys.
- 26:34SPEAKER_02: Um so if you like play funny, isn't it?
- 26:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, if even if you like haven't played the games, you can you don't, I mean.
- 26:40SPEAKER_03: Even if you haven't played the games, it's not funny.
- 26:42SPEAKER_03: If you have played the games, still not funny, unfortunately.
- 26:45SPEAKER_03: Yes, I mean I mean joke jokes about people wearing clothes quote unquote meant for ladies, right?
- 26:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's funny, isn't it?
- 26:52SPEAKER_03: I mean it wasn't even it wouldn't have even been funny during the period where that wasn't socially acceptable to do, you know what I mean?
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: But like back when when I don't I don't mind like those sort of jokes, but it's like then it's like well it's quite obviously not a dress.
- 27:05SPEAKER_03: He that too, right?
- 27:07SPEAKER_03: The tunic doesn't even look dress like in the slightest.
- 27:10SPEAKER_03: It's not even a funny observation, it's a shit observation.
- 27:13SPEAKER_03: It's like it's like you you must be like you have like half a brain, so if you think that even though and so that that's the Saturday Night Live writers obviously are fucking idiots, that's the truth.
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: They've never been funny.
- 27:25SPEAKER_03: Um anyway, so uh yes, but we we live in a world nowadays where fenboy cafes are a thing, so it's even less funny now than it would have been back in the day, and as Sean rightfully pointed out, it's not even it doesn't even look like a dress.
- 27:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they hammer this joke into the fucking ground for the full five-minute sketch, which throughout continues to be this level of shit.
- 27:46SPEAKER_03: The entire premise is basically isn't GTA exciting?
- 27:49SPEAKER_03: Look at all the boring shit you do in Zelda.
- 27:51SPEAKER_03: Like there's a bit where one like one of them's like, So Link, what do you do in your game?
- 27:55SPEAKER_03: And he's like, search ancient tombs and solve puzzles, and it like cuts the GTA guy's face and he's looking all disgusted.
- 28:01SPEAKER_03: It's just TV.
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: Is this on he's sadly on TV?
- 28:05SPEAKER_03: It should have just been done in private, if at all.
- 28:08SPEAKER_02: But the fact that they thought to record it, it makes it just sounds very like something that like people would watch on TV.
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: I mean, I don't really, you know, I mean I don't know.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: I watch like I just watch good shows.
- 28:18SPEAKER_03: I genuinely could not think of a single person that would find this funny though.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: No, not at all, not at all.
- 28:23SPEAKER_03: Even the even like the most idiotic person on the I I'm surprised that the people doing it on SNL found it funny in the writers' room.
- 28:30SPEAKER_03: Like they cannot have.
- 28:31SPEAKER_02: No, they can't.
- 28:32SPEAKER_02: They must have been like, shit, we've got to fill some time, you know.
- 28:35SPEAKER_03: But what's interesting though is the former hosts of the official Nintendo podcast, the Nintendo Minute, which was 25 minutes long per episode, by the way, which is sort your title out.
- 28:45SPEAKER_02: Maybe we need to take them to court.
- 28:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:48SPEAKER_03: You promised me this will be a minute.
- 28:50SPEAKER_03: Anyway, uh they've come out and said they were dreading this new one since the last one made reference to Wario doing drugs and Luigi sending unsolicited dick pics to people, which again is not funny unless you're mentally pathetic, but also not good for the Nintendo brand, right?
- 29:05SPEAKER_03: So Nintendo are looking at this.
- 29:07SPEAKER_02: Spit shit, yeah.
- 29:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, um so the hosts of the Nintendo podcast did continue though and say that this new sketch was fine.
- 29:13SPEAKER_03: That's all they said, right?
- 29:15SPEAKER_03: Because it wasn't offensive, but it was saying fine.
- 29:18SPEAKER_03: Bear in mind, this is the Nintendo podcast, right?
- 29:20SPEAKER_03: So they cannot come out and say it was shit, what a bunch of idiots.
- 29:24SPEAKER_03: But they're saying it was fine.
- 29:25SPEAKER_03: That means it wasn't funny.
- 29:27SPEAKER_03: But they they should just like do their own thing and then they can do offensive stuff, uh that like they don't have to please Nintendo like any companies, they can just do but then would it be saying that if if they're doing s stuff about Nintendo, they can't be edgy, but they tried that once and it wasn't funny either.
- 29:47SPEAKER_03: I just think the try the trouble is they can't write jokes that are funny, that's the issue.
- 29:51SPEAKER_03: I mean right, if they were left to do their own devices and not speak about pop culture at all, it would still be rubbish.
- 29:56SPEAKER_02: I mean, they used to have some of the best comedians on, but now they don't have that even.
- 30:00SPEAKER_03: So yeah, I mean look look, a lot of decent comedians got their start in SNL, but then bear in mind they flourished a bit more comedically when they were out of that thing.
- 30:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:12SPEAKER_03: Like you you have to admit the Jim Kerry like Night of the Roxbury sketches was kind of funny to watch a couple of times.
- 30:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but then look at what happened when they were let to let off the leash to make the Knight of the Roxbury film.
- 30:23SPEAKER_03: Quite a and a surprisingly good film.
- 30:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I liked it.
- 30:26SPEAKER_03: I liked it.
- 30:26SPEAKER_03: Jim Carrey was way funnier out of that environment than he was in that environment.
- 30:31SPEAKER_03: Um and Will Ferrell, no, he's he was he's actually less funny somehow.
- 30:36SPEAKER_02: He was excellent.
- 30:37SPEAKER_02: He still is, but um Are you joking you are joking?
- 30:40SPEAKER_02: But Jim Carrey wasn't in the Knight of the Roxbury film.
- 30:43SPEAKER_03: No, he wasn't.
- 30:44SPEAKER_03: No, you're right, actually.
- 30:45SPEAKER_03: But still, good film.
- 30:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was a good film.
- 30:47SPEAKER_03: It was a good film based on a mid-sketch that was on that show, though, is my point.
- 30:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 30:51SPEAKER_03: But look right, shut up.
- 30:52SPEAKER_03: You just said Will Farrell is funny.
- 30:55SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean he I mean he had he has had some funny output.
- 31:00SPEAKER_03: Um could you just name one funny moment from Anchorman, please?
- 31:04SPEAKER_02: Yes, so so many.
- 31:06SPEAKER_03: When he kicks the dog off the mentioned you I you picked it knowing it's the one bit that is funny in that film when he drinks the dog when he drinks the milk.
- 31:15SPEAKER_02: Milk was a bad choice.
- 31:16SPEAKER_02: Uh when like the when like the other guy, like uh like uh Steve Corell's character like kills a guy with a trident, and then he's like, I killed a guy with the trident, and then Will Ferrell's like you should lay lol for a while.
- 31:29SPEAKER_03: Alright, it's it is funny hearing you say it now.
- 31:32SPEAKER_03: But that film was just the the entire pro like plot was just lol so random.
- 31:36SPEAKER_03: I don't know, it's just it wasn't funny to me.
- 31:38SPEAKER_03: I don't think Will Ferrell's funny, and uh I've got nothing else to say on that.
- 31:43SPEAKER_03: But anyway, um next news story was the Nintendo Switch 2 has been jailbroken.
- 31:48SPEAKER_03: Now you've got a big old let's go, man.
- 31:51SPEAKER_02: Sorry, I just like I was trying I was gonna put another news story on there, but I'm gonna talk about it.
- 31:56SPEAKER_03: So do you want me to read this shit out?
- 31:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, just slightly entry point exploits a 32-bit integer overflow bug within Smile Basic 4 application chained with a buffer overflow vulnerability in the console's file system service.
- 32:09SPEAKER_02: Woo!
- 32:10SPEAKER_03: Let's go, let's go come on.
- 32:11SPEAKER_03: Requirements, Nintendo Switch 2.
- 32:14SPEAKER_03: Right, you've got to have one of those, otherwise you can't otherwise you can't jailbreak it, right?
- 32:18SPEAKER_03: Sean has just copy-pasted the method in which they've jailbroken it.
- 32:22SPEAKER_02: I have, but there's some explanation there as well.
- 32:25SPEAKER_03: I don't really give a fuck about that.
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, go into it because there's stuff about Peter Griffin in there as well.
- 32:30SPEAKER_03: What do you what about?
- 32:32SPEAKER_03: Alright, uh, capabilities, homebrew execution, runs unsigned native code at system module provisions permissions.
- 32:39SPEAKER_03: Don't know what that means.
- 32:40SPEAKER_03: Game modding, demonstrated oh now we're talking, right?
- 32:42SPEAKER_03: Demonstrated live with custom character mods in games like Mario Kart World featuring characters such as Peter Griffin and Hatsuniku.
- 32:50SPEAKER_03: Alright, I'm in.
- 32:50SPEAKER_03: I'm in.
- 32:52SPEAKER_03: Save management, it enable save file back at some custom data handling.
- 32:56SPEAKER_03: That is fucking good.
- 32:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:57SPEAKER_03: Because I tell you what, why are game saves linked to your profile on Switch?
- 33:03SPEAKER_03: Like not being able to have two saves on Tomodachi Life is insane to me.
- 33:06SPEAKER_03: It's very archaic, I think.
- 33:07SPEAKER_03: I don't know why they do it.
- 33:08SPEAKER_03: Like because like if I need another save on a game that is say online, then I have to pay for two memberships, do I?
- 33:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:17SPEAKER_03: It's insane.
- 33:18SPEAKER_03: Um, it also gives developers low-level access to system modules and file system hooks.
- 33:23SPEAKER_03: Don't know what that means.
- 33:24SPEAKER_03: Uh not custom firmware.
- 33:25SPEAKER_03: Also, it uses their firmware, but it's jailbroken.
- 33:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:29SPEAKER_03: Cool.
- 33:30SPEAKER_03: Um Nintendo response.
- 33:32SPEAKER_03: Nintendo has already pulled Smile Basic 4 from the eShop and is expected to roll out firmware patches to close the vulnerability.
- 33:38SPEAKER_03: So, what is Smile Basic 4?
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: Uh it's a program like they've got in the eShop, like a it's like a somebody actually put the thing on there.
- 33:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, okay, I get you.
- 33:48SPEAKER_03: Um because I've got jailbroken 3ds, and to do that, you had to use a program like that, but you have to sideload it on using a very convoluted method.
- 33:57SPEAKER_03: Takes about an hour.
- 33:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm surprised they had this just on the shop and on the side.
- 34:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but have you seen the Nintendo Shop?
- 34:02SPEAKER_03: It's just it's a slight fest.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, oh.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: Um I am not surprised that they didn't notice this was going out there.
- 34:08SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, fair point, fair point.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: Um and then That is cool, but I think that it's too good news.
- 34:13SPEAKER_03: It is good news, but it's it's too early.
- 34:15SPEAKER_03: I know I only ever jailbreak consoles or hack them when the official developer has stopped updating them.
- 34:23SPEAKER_03: Because you get because you can end up bricking your console.
- 34:25SPEAKER_02: I know, yeah.
- 34:26SPEAKER_02: Um, it's just good that to know that people would like love, you know, doing it, you know, winning against Nintendo.
- 34:33SPEAKER_02: Um also the PS5 has also been jailbroken with like very simple sort of thing.
- 34:40SPEAKER_02: Well that's good.
- 34:41SPEAKER_03: And look, these devices belong to us, we should be allowed to do what we want with them.
- 34:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly.
- 34:44SPEAKER_03: That's sort of the I get that piracy is illegal, right?
- 34:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but it should be my choice whether or not I want to break the law.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 34:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, definitely, definitely.
- 34:53SPEAKER_03: Um not that I would ever pirate anything, and I never have.
- 34:56SPEAKER_02: And also, um, yeah, I mean, if if yeah, if we're buying a switch too for that amount of money.
- 35:03SPEAKER_02: Um, also, like the entirety of the PS4, uh, the console itself and the library uh has uh sort of been you can play it in Roblox.
- 35:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there's been some weird advancements in this recently, hasn't it?
- 35:17SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 35:18SPEAKER_03: I've got one to talk about in what what we've been playing.
- 35:20SPEAKER_03: Um but yeah, it's weird, isn't it?
- 35:22SPEAKER_03: Like the fact that the whole PS4 library is available available in Roblox, but it's also now completely available on the PS5, which is really weird.
- 35:30SPEAKER_03: Like every game works perfectly, you can do it piss easily.
- 35:33SPEAKER_03: It's it's cool.
- 35:34SPEAKER_03: And the PS4 was had a good library of games, so that's cool.
- 35:37SPEAKER_02: And you can and you can play um you can play Roblox on the PS4.
- 35:42SPEAKER_02: So you can play Roblox on the PS4 and then play Roblox.
- 35:45SPEAKER_03: And then get a PS4 emulator emulator on your PS4 within Roblox.
- 35:49SPEAKER_03: Yes, so you conclude your new story by saying further expansion is now just allowed for straight up game dumps onto Switch 2 by overloading the Switch 2's memory.
- 35:56SPEAKER_03: So you could just download Switch 2 games now, yeah.
- 35:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:59SPEAKER_03: Fuck yes.
- 36:00SPEAKER_02: Whack up a dump.
- 36:01SPEAKER_02: Um also um shit.
- 36:04SPEAKER_02: Sorry, ignore no, ignore that.
- 36:07SPEAKER_02: Um also uh apparently Apparently like uh Ram uh sort of the um AI sort of industry has sort of used should see sort of burst.
- 36:22SPEAKER_03: You should sh should see Sean's face right now, listeners.
- 36:25SPEAKER_03: He was trying to remember something so hard, and I think when I went, apparently it broke him.
- 36:29SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: The AI industry has burst, has it?
- 36:32SPEAKER_02: No, like in China, like it's lost like uh a few trillion.
- 36:35SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 36:36SPEAKER_02: Um so I wanted to clo conclude all this by saying that uh Rams you hope Nintendo burst.
- 36:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I do, definitely.
- 36:43SPEAKER_02: And Sony as well.
- 36:44SPEAKER_02: Boom.
- 36:45SPEAKER_02: Um uh Rams back on the menu, boys.
- 36:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there's gonna be a price decrease, isn't there?
- 36:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 36:50SPEAKER_03: So this is another news story.
- 36:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's going down in price, that means that things might be affordable again.
- 36:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and we might need be able to, I might actually finally be able to get a Steam Deck.
- 36:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, do you know that Steam Deck I was gonna buy?
- 37:01SPEAKER_03: That then it was broken.
- 37:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:03SPEAKER_03: So for those that don't know, my mate Katie went offered to sell me a Steam Deck for£200, right, which is incredible.
- 37:09SPEAKER_03: She let me borrow it to see if it was something I would like, right?
- 37:12SPEAKER_03: But then it turns out it was like completely balked and it wouldn't turn on, right?
- 37:17SPEAKER_03: It turns out that what she had tried to do was load split fiction onto the Steam Deck, a game that was way too powerful, and also she didn't have enough memory, so it didn't have enough like I don't know, space to even fucking start up.
- 37:31SPEAKER_03: So um her boyfriend managed to get the managed to uh somehow uninstall split fiction off the hard drive of the thing.
- 37:39SPEAKER_03: Oh, it must have like booted Linux up, just something like that, but yeah, yeah, and now and now it works.
- 37:43SPEAKER_03: And then I said, Do you still want to sell it for 200 quid?
- 37:46SPEAKER_03: And she was like, uh, actually no.
- 37:48SPEAKER_03: Because you know what she did with her get a gaming PC was she just got rid of it because she didn't like the look of it anymore.
- 37:54SPEAKER_02: She got rid of the Steam Deck.
- 37:55SPEAKER_03: No, no, no, her PC.
- 37:56SPEAKER_03: Her PC.
- 37:57SPEAKER_03: So now her Steam Deck is her proprietary gaming device because her other fucking she just sold her computer out of nowhere because she was like, it's not cute enough.
- 38:06SPEAKER_03: Mad thing.
- 38:07SPEAKER_02: Um does that mean she'll be does that mean she'll be back on the the gaming?
- 38:11SPEAKER_03: Hopefully, yeah, well, hopefully.
- 38:12SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'd try to get her to play Orbitals with me and she won't, so I don't know.
- 38:16SPEAKER_03: I mean I think she only games in winter because she can't go out and like pick flowers or whatever.
- 38:21SPEAKER_02: Oh, I suppose yeah.
- 38:22SPEAKER_03: And look, to be honest, if she heard me saying this, she wouldn't mind.
- 38:24SPEAKER_03: My friend Katie is like the most unbelievably twee person.
- 38:26SPEAKER_03: If you played split fiction, she's like Zoe from that game.
- 38:30SPEAKER_02: She she's like the ultimate quirky millennial, isn't it?
- 38:34SPEAKER_02: Um but um yeah, I was thinking like the next game is like that she would like and we would like to.
- 38:40SPEAKER_03: Well, you can't just speak about Katie this entire time, nobody knows who she is.
- 38:43SPEAKER_03: Right, let's move on.
- 38:44SPEAKER_02: Um I think we should play over the hill, and I think I'd like recommend that people should play that because it looks really good.
- 38:50SPEAKER_03: That does look good to be fair.
- 38:51SPEAKER_03: But yeah, I uh I let a 200 pound Steam Deck slip through my fingers.
- 38:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you did.
- 38:56SPEAKER_03: That's gutting, isn't it?
- 38:57SPEAKER_03: Yes now that they're a grand.
- 38:59SPEAKER_02: But could could could get nearer to that price.
- 39:02SPEAKER_03: I hope so.
- 39:03SPEAKER_03: I hope so, man.
- 39:04SPEAKER_03: Uh right, that is it for news.
- 39:06SPEAKER_03: Unless you've got anything else, you've got any personal news about yourself?
- 39:08SPEAKER_02: You've achieved any you've levelled up any skills.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: We got like we got through most of this podcast.
- 39:15SPEAKER_02: That's pretty good.
- 39:15SPEAKER_03: That's good news.
- 39:16SPEAKER_03: Right, let's go on to what we've been playing.
- 39:18SPEAKER_03: What's your game?
- 39:27SPEAKER_03: Sean, you've been playing Clone Hero.
- 39:44SPEAKER_03: Well, we can't use any of the licensed songs here, so what should we do?
- 39:47SPEAKER_03: Do you want to just do an impression of one of them?
- 39:49SPEAKER_02: Uh well there's I mean, there's there's songs that are on Clone Hero that are licensed.
- 39:56SPEAKER_03: Royalty free.
- 39:56SPEAKER_02: Licen yeah, royalty free, yeah.
- 39:58SPEAKER_03: Um like like the McDonald's B ping, for example.
- 40:01SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's that.
- 40:02SPEAKER_03: Um Right, tell me what is Clone Hero?
- 40:04SPEAKER_03: Is it good?
- 40:05SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah, I mean, well, it's basically like Guitar Hero.
- 40:10SPEAKER_02: Um, so um so yeah, I mean it's so like a lot of uh the assets and stuff.
- 40:18SPEAKER_02: I mean it's very customizable sort of guitar hero game.
- 40:22SPEAKER_03: Right, so I'll just do your job for you here.
- 40:25SPEAKER_03: No, it's an open source fan-made reproduction of Guitar Hero playable on a computer, yes?
- 40:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, would you say that?
- 40:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, um that's convenient.
- 40:33SPEAKER_02: Uh and uh there's a lot of good places to get songs from like uh chorus encore.
- 40:40SPEAKER_02: Um there's also like really good places to get uh different backgrounds and highways from as well.
- 40:46SPEAKER_02: Um you can have you can add your own music videos, which I've done for a couple of songs.
- 40:51SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, so um yeah, I mean um because notably it doesn't come with any songs because then it would be prior piracy.
- 40:59SPEAKER_02: Uh it comes with a few songs like yeah, maybe about 22.
- 41:04SPEAKER_02: One of them is Dragon Force.
- 41:05SPEAKER_02: Um it's not the Well don't say that, they could get done.
- 41:08SPEAKER_02: It's not the song that you'd want.
- 41:09SPEAKER_03: Dragon Force are very litigious.
- 41:11SPEAKER_02: Are they?
- 41:11SPEAKER_03: No, I don't know.
- 41:12SPEAKER_03: They've probably got about£10 to their name.
- 41:14SPEAKER_02: It is a Clone Hero song specifically, so yeah.
- 41:18SPEAKER_03: But uh So they okay it did they?
- 41:19SPEAKER_02: Um but there are like certain bands that are like, yeah, download this song for Clone Hero.
- 41:25SPEAKER_03: Right now, yeah, you know what I mean?
- 41:28SPEAKER_03: No, I you can you play drums on it?
- 41:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can, yeah.
- 41:32SPEAKER_02: You can go you can um so like with the chorus encore, you can like look up songs that like have all the instruments on it.
- 41:39SPEAKER_02: Um singing.
- 41:41SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah, it does, yeah.
- 41:42SPEAKER_02: Sweet.
- 41:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 41:43SPEAKER_02: Um you can get all like the harmonic stuff and like the the guitar hero stuff, so it has all of that on it.
- 41:50SPEAKER_02: Um the difficulty settings, uh, all the different instruments.
- 41:54SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, I've seen like some really good drum players as well, to be honest.
- 41:58SPEAKER_03: So uh how easy is it to acquire the instruments for that nowadays?
- 42:01SPEAKER_03: You bought one off eBay, right?
- 42:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I bought one off eBay.
- 42:04SPEAKER_02: I bought and is it still in good Nick?
- 42:06SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah, yeah, it is.
- 42:07SPEAKER_02: I mean, the only problem is um is I had one sticky green button.
- 42:12SPEAKER_02: I'm working on that.
- 42:14SPEAKER_02: Um but um Right, what do you mean you're working on it?
- 42:16SPEAKER_02: Um like I'm gonna Oh right, you mean it sticks down?
- 42:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's a weird one.
- 42:22SPEAKER_02: That is annoying.
- 42:22SPEAKER_03: I don't know how you'd fix it by opening it up.
- 42:24SPEAKER_03: Do you want me to open it up and have a look at it?
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: Uh I mean if that's all right.
- 42:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that'd be good.
- 42:28SPEAKER_02: I mean, that is annoying.
- 42:30SPEAKER_02: But um apart from that, it's uh pretty good.
- 42:33SPEAKER_02: But you can find loads like uh like in um sort of uh CEX around the area, but like eBay is really good.
- 42:41SPEAKER_02: You can get them for like very reasonable prices from like 20.
- 42:43SPEAKER_03: Mines was 30 pounds, but it arrived quite dirty and you had to clean it and it's got a sticky green button.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: I mean um mine was, but you can get them quite cheap, um, to be fair.
- 42:53SPEAKER_02: Like I mean, mine was an Xbox 360 one, but you could get a brand new Riffmaster for nine uh 60 to 90 pounds.
- 43:01SPEAKER_03: That's all right actually, if it's brand new.
- 43:03SPEAKER_03: Um I'm just gonna go on to eBay here and just um Yeah, have a look.
- 43:08SPEAKER_02: I mean, um I didn't I didn't leave a review because I mean it was dirty, but it was also very well packaged, so yeah.
- 43:16SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, like there's quite a lot on here, but I don't see any that are new on eBay.
- 43:20SPEAKER_03: But I'm sure there must be people out there that are producing new ones, right?
- 43:22SPEAKER_02: Maybe yeah, there are, yeah, the Riftmaster and Oh Riffmaster, yeah, yeah, of course.
- 43:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, um, but um there's a lot of good ones on eBay you can get.
- 43:30SPEAKER_02: I mean, um yeah, like uh for the Xbox 360 Wii PS4.
- 43:35SPEAKER_03: Only thing with the Wii one is you need to put a Wii moat inside the guitar, which is a bit weird.
- 43:39SPEAKER_02: You can get a attachment um to put Oh just an adapter thing.
- 43:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:44SPEAKER_03: Sweet.
- 43:45SPEAKER_03: Well that is Clone Hero.
- 43:46SPEAKER_03: Uh do you like it?
- 43:47SPEAKER_03: Is it nice?
- 43:48SPEAKER_02: It was good as well.
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: Also, I forgot to mention online leaderboards, uh always very competitive.
- 43:53SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, people r realising their score's been taken the first place, and yeah, a lot of uh it's very competitive.
- 44:00SPEAKER_02: Uh very good game.
- 44:01SPEAKER_02: Um there is one coming out, an official one.
- 44:04SPEAKER_02: Um is it Stage Stage Hero or Yeah, Stage Hero, that's it.
- 44:08SPEAKER_03: No, I don't I think I heard rumours about this, but thing is it's clone hero's got too much customizability.
- 44:14SPEAKER_03: I don't know, yeah.
- 44:16SPEAKER_03: It's like what they bring out what they bring out cannot be better because you it was with this, you can download whatever the fuck songs you like.
- 44:24SPEAKER_03: Like the fact that somebody's made one that is the McDonald's B ping is pretty good, and like there's one where you can play through the entirety of Shrek that's been mapped to like like it's a song or something, which is pretty fucking amazing.
- 44:36SPEAKER_03: But all of that shit, you can't they wouldn't be able to do that on an official one unless they sort of open it up because like tr Trombone Hero, from what I understand, like that's really lived on because it because of the custom songs and all of that shit, right?
- 44:49SPEAKER_03: But then it's not that that was cap that capability was in the game, but because it's an indie game, the developers of Trombone Hero sort of deliberately left it very open so that people could get in and do that, you know what I mean?
- 45:03SPEAKER_03: So um as long as maybe the developers of this new one could do something like that, just a little bit on the sly, you know what I mean?
- 45:08SPEAKER_02: To be fair, they are selling it for like 40 quid at relaunch.
- 45:11SPEAKER_03: And how much is Clone Hero?
- 45:13SPEAKER_02: Well, it's zero, isn't it?
- 45:14SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 45:15SPEAKER_03: So fuck that.
- 45:16SPEAKER_02: To be fair, like yeah, I mean uh they did try, but um, yeah, Clone Hero, I would recommend it.
- 45:21SPEAKER_02: It's very easy to customize and upload stuff.
- 45:24SPEAKER_02: You just slap stuff into the Clone Hero folders and that.
- 45:27SPEAKER_03: Is it not like a downloader that you can get?
- 45:30SPEAKER_03: Um like you just you can just go look at a menu and download whatever song, or do you have to go on the internet, download the pack, put it in?
- 45:37SPEAKER_02: Um well I just you can download packs, but I just go on core song core and just look for songs in it.
- 45:44SPEAKER_03: Alright, sweet, cool.
- 45:45SPEAKER_03: That's Clone Hero.
- 45:46SPEAKER_03: Um, shall we talk about we both went to see the Street Fighter movie.
- 45:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 45:56SPEAKER_03: It was the biggest fucking piece of dog shit.
- 45:59SPEAKER_02: It was about as boring as the the Street Fighter 6, I'd say.
- 46:02SPEAKER_03: Now, I I uh when I complained about it, with the people I went to, right?
- 46:06SPEAKER_03: I said it was fucking dog shit, right?
- 46:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and the they were all like, well, look, for people that aren't fans of the Street Fighter law, and I'm like, I'm not.
- 46:14SPEAKER_03: I don't know why any of them are fighting in Street Fighter 6.
- 46:17SPEAKER_03: I don't know the the the background to any of this shit.
- 46:19SPEAKER_03: I'm not annoyed because it it betrays some sort of uh decent law that was in the games.
- 46:25SPEAKER_03: I'm not even sure the law in the games is good.
- 46:27SPEAKER_03: I don't know, I don't know anything about it.
- 46:29SPEAKER_03: But the thing is, is that the film fails on its own merits.
- 46:32SPEAKER_03: It was one of the worst films I've ever seen.
- 46:35SPEAKER_02: Well, if they're trying to like follow Street the Street Fighter 2 tournament, that would have been entertaining.
- 46:40SPEAKER_03: It sort of was trying to be that though, wasn't it?
- 46:42SPEAKER_03: Or was it just before?
- 46:43SPEAKER_03: Because it's some of the characters from Street Fighter Alpha are there.
- 46:46SPEAKER_02: Uh well, I mean, yeah, I mean you got like Joe who was in Street Fighter 1.
- 46:50SPEAKER_02: That was cool.
- 46:51SPEAKER_02: So you but like and also famously, I mean, if they were like if people were saying like, oh yeah, like I didn't follow this, but um the first two minutes followed Street Fighter 1, the ending perfectly.
- 47:03SPEAKER_03: I mean That was the best bit in the entire film.
- 47:06SPEAKER_02: I mean, the fact that we got that animated version of like that ending, which is like a really cool way to end the first game, so the film which wasn't well presented before in 1980.
- 47:17SPEAKER_02: So the film like it was just good to see.
- 47:21SPEAKER_02: It was just like yeah.
- 47:22SPEAKER_03: No, that was nice.
- 47:23SPEAKER_03: So so it has some anime segments, and the first bit is the Street Fighter 1 bit that Sean mentioned, right?
- 47:28SPEAKER_03: And it was good, yeah.
- 47:30SPEAKER_03: It was quite promising, but the thing is, is that the entire rest of the film makes no fucking sense.
- 47:35SPEAKER_03: I mean, like the so the plot revolves around broadly speaking, like the fact that uh Akuma is gonna is who's once was once defeated by Ken Ryu and Goki, right?
- 47:49SPEAKER_03: He he's this he's this sort of demonic fighter fella, right?
- 47:52SPEAKER_02: Akuma is Gokie.
- 47:53SPEAKER_03: I mean you're thinking of Goken and Goken is what I mean, yeah, yeah.
- 47:57SPEAKER_02: And um for some reason, uh sorry to I I'll let you like get on.
- 48:02SPEAKER_02: It's for some reason it needs to be.
- 48:04SPEAKER_03: Desperately need to say what the film is.
- 48:06SPEAKER_02: Everyone is Japanese, and he um also Akuma is also Akuma is Japanese, but everyone is American.
- 48:15SPEAKER_02: I mean Akuma is American.
- 48:16SPEAKER_03: What's Sean means for some reason in the film what Sean means right, I'm getting really annoyed.
- 48:20SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 48:20SPEAKER_03: What Sean means is, and this is a point we should bring up later after we've just said what the film is, do you know what I mean?
- 48:26SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 48:26SPEAKER_03: But there's it's like all of the Japanese characters, most of them are played by American people, right?
- 48:32SPEAKER_02: No, no, but we that's not the point I was making.
- 48:35SPEAKER_03: Well, what point were you making then?
- 48:36SPEAKER_02: We'll go into what the film is in a minute, ladies and gentlemen, but go on everyone knows we're talking about straight fight.
- 48:41SPEAKER_02: No, no, but we got to talk about just generally what the film is about.
- 48:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you were talking about Akuma.
- 48:46SPEAKER_02: Why is Akuma American?
- 48:47SPEAKER_02: And they're like, he's supposed to be Japanese.
- 48:50SPEAKER_03: Right, so the character of Akuma is American in the film.
- 48:53SPEAKER_02: Uh why is Gokin uh also Japanese?
- 48:56SPEAKER_02: Why is his brother American?
- 48:59SPEAKER_02: Right, but Akuma Kuma.
- 49:00SPEAKER_03: Akuma was Japanese in the film.
- 49:02SPEAKER_02: No, he wasn't.
- 49:03SPEAKER_02: He was an American accent.
- 49:06SPEAKER_03: Yes, because he was played by an American fella.
- 49:08SPEAKER_03: Um but he is still Japanese in the film.
- 49:11SPEAKER_03: Right, but it it's funny because the listeners, the listener, no, they don't mention why he speaks with the American accent, but but it doesn't matter, does it?
- 49:18SPEAKER_03: None of it matters.
- 49:19SPEAKER_03: But the point is should matter.
- 49:21SPEAKER_03: It should matter, but the point is that for the listeners who don't know the context for who Akuma is, who Goki is, who Goken is, this is all nonsense.
- 49:29SPEAKER_03: So you set up what the film's about, then you tell them about it.
- 49:32SPEAKER_02: I suppose, but everyone knows who Akuma is, though.
- 49:36SPEAKER_03: Okay, they do not, right, for starters.
- 49:38SPEAKER_03: If you don't okay, look, anyway, the point is the entire film is about Akuma's gonna reawaken and he's gonna kill whoever wins this big Street Fighter tournament.
- 49:48SPEAKER_03: And the reason the Street Fighter tournament is being held is because M.
- 49:51SPEAKER_03: Bison wants to get closer to Ryu, who has gone in hiding, so that he can steal his Hado power, right?
- 49:56SPEAKER_03: Which is how Ryu manages to throw fireballs.
- 50:01SPEAKER_02: I'm also surprised.
- 50:03SPEAKER_02: I'm also surprised that like this film is centred around Akuma because what the like But it's not really though, is it?
- 50:11SPEAKER_03: No, it's sort of centered around Akuma, but it's centered around five different plots at once, none of which makes sense, right?
- 50:17SPEAKER_03: So the Akuma's gonna reawaken and kill whoever wins the tournament, right?
- 50:21SPEAKER_03: Now, the the thing about this is is that that Ken is entering the tournament.
- 50:25SPEAKER_03: His best mate is Ryu.
- 50:27SPEAKER_03: So Ryu, who's been in hiding for years after his darkness came out when he won the Street Fighter 1 tournament, he has to come out hiding because he's got to warn Ken.
- 50:35SPEAKER_03: Because if Ken wins the tournament, Akuma will kill him.
- 50:38SPEAKER_03: He will die.
- 50:39SPEAKER_03: So Ryu visits Ken's hotel room and he's like, he has this mysterious moment where he goes, I'm back.
- 50:45SPEAKER_03: By the way, you cannot win this tournament.
- 50:48SPEAKER_03: Now Ken misunderstands this, right?
- 50:50SPEAKER_03: And he thinks, you're saying I lack the ability to win this tournament.
- 50:54SPEAKER_03: So he beats you, they start beating the shit out of each other.
- 50:56SPEAKER_03: And at not one point does Ryu go, No, but I don't, I don't mean you couldn't win this.
- 51:00SPEAKER_03: Of course you could win, you're a great fighter.
- 51:02SPEAKER_03: What I meant was please don't win the tournament because you will die.
- 51:06SPEAKER_03: He never clarifies.
- 51:07SPEAKER_03: Ken is walking out of the room slowly, mind you, with his stuff over his shoulder, going, You're a real dick, Ryu, you know, and then Ryu's Ryu doesn't think to turn around and go, You are misunderstanding, please stop.
- 51:18SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 51:18SPEAKER_03: And like just because he didn't want to say a fucking sentence, Ken enters the tournament.
- 51:23SPEAKER_02: And also, like, maybe it was convenient for them for Ryu and Ken to not like each other so that Ken could have that weird thing with Dan, I guess.
- 51:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like the okay, now uh I am not complaining about this that much, but I mean that is that they made the film really gay.
- 51:39SPEAKER_02: Surely they should be like mates, Ryu and Ken.
- 51:41SPEAKER_02: Like be great.
- 51:42SPEAKER_03: I would like because you do because at the end, when all the rivalry stops and they talk to each other like friends, wasn't that last two minutes of the film the bet like it was one of the best bits?
- 51:53SPEAKER_03: That's I wish the whole film had that tone.
- 51:55SPEAKER_03: But like the funny thing is that yeah, the whole film is predicated on that one stupid misunderstanding, right?
- 52:01SPEAKER_03: Now, I actually think kind of a cool kind of a cool plot because now Ryu has to enter the tournament, right?
- 52:07SPEAKER_03: He has to enter the tournament because he has to stop Ken from winning.
- 52:11SPEAKER_03: He has to beat him to be able to win the tournament so that Ken doesn't die.
- 52:16SPEAKER_03: Cool idea, but then the tournament isn't even the focus of the fucking film.
- 52:21SPEAKER_03: It's about the second that Ryu turns up to enter the tournament to stop Ken from getting killed, he gets kidnapped anyway.
- 52:26SPEAKER_03: So he spends the whole fucking thing in jail.
- 52:29SPEAKER_02: The tournament is what they go to when they hope live a space to fill.
- 52:33SPEAKER_02: It's not like something they want to be doing.
- 52:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like like that's b-roll shit, right?
- 52:38SPEAKER_03: It's like a reminder to say, by the way, we we do remember it's a Street Fighter film.
- 52:42SPEAKER_03: But going back to the gay stuff, right?
- 52:44SPEAKER_03: I don't mind what even if every character in the film was like was gay, right?
- 52:49SPEAKER_03: Doesn't matter.
- 52:50SPEAKER_03: It's not about the fact that it's homosexuality is included in the film, but it's the butt of a joke, and it's the same joke every time.
- 52:57SPEAKER_03: And I don't even mind the joke, like like it's implied that Dan and Ken are sleeping with each other, right?
- 53:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and it's like, but they're not a couple, they're just they're just mates that bum occasionally, right?
- 53:08SPEAKER_03: Which is absolutely fine.
- 53:09SPEAKER_03: But like Guile comes up, and Dan is like the joke character from Street Fighter, and Guile comes up to him and goes, Um, Dan, you're sucking the the life out of Ken's career, and to which Dan replies, I don't suck him, he doesn't suck me.
- 53:24SPEAKER_03: This isn't a big suck fest going on here, nobody's sucking anyone, right?
- 53:28SPEAKER_03: And then, of course, 50 Cent's character, who I actually think he he got very little screen time, but he played it kind of well, right?
- 53:34SPEAKER_03: 50 Cent plays Bullrog, Bullrog comes in and he goes, Oh, look at all the men here, a lot of fresh meat to beat, not in a sexual way, but it's like the joke every time is haha accidental gay.
- 53:46SPEAKER_03: Like it's not that funny.
- 53:47SPEAKER_02: It might have been funny once, and then also like um it was very poorly cast.
- 53:51SPEAKER_02: I mean, Dan for a start was terrible.
- 53:54SPEAKER_02: I mean, like all the actors, I mean, I mean, it doesn't matter if they're a bit off.
- 53:58SPEAKER_03: I mean, but Ryu, the the guy that plays Ryu actually does much large.
- 54:02SPEAKER_03: He was good, he was good, but he but the the trouble is is it it was they didn't give him any script, but yeah, the script was too bad.
- 54:08SPEAKER_03: Nobody can work on that.
- 54:09SPEAKER_02: Like he was up for it, you can tell.
- 54:11SPEAKER_03: Well, there's a point where um like you can tell he was trying in a way that the Ken guy wasn't, but there's a point where Ryu's been hiding for all this time.
- 54:18SPEAKER_03: The fucking um movie cuts to him serving ramen in New York, right?
- 54:23SPEAKER_03: That's what he's doing.
- 54:23SPEAKER_03: He's homeless, he has a little ramen cart cart.
- 54:26SPEAKER_03: Now, just bear in mind that the film was written and directed by a Japanese fella, and they make it like it cuts to him, he's selling his ramen and he's making it from pigeons, right?
- 54:35SPEAKER_03: The joke being, haha, isn't Asian food weird?
- 54:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like city pigeons, yeah.
- 54:40SPEAKER_03: But it's like you are a Japanese director making that joke, like I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't think there's nothing wrong with edgy humour, but that's not actually fucking funny.
- 54:50SPEAKER_03: It would it might have been funny 20 years ago.
- 54:52SPEAKER_02: Well I thought it was like a bit childish or it very, very.
- 54:56SPEAKER_03: And then it's like but the the the entire film makes absolutely no sense.
- 55:00SPEAKER_03: And that bar fight, I told you about it, right?
- 55:02SPEAKER_03: There's a bit where all of them arrive in shhh shitland.
- 55:07SPEAKER_03: What what is this place?
- 55:08SPEAKER_03: Oh, they're called Metro Lao City, right?
- 55:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, which is instead of Metro City, they just changed it.
- 55:13SPEAKER_03: Like, what's what difference?
- 55:15SPEAKER_03: Why, right?
- 55:16SPEAKER_03: They all arrive there, and then they there's the directors come up with a big convoluted reason to see everyone fight because bear in mind, no, you never see the fucking tournament.
- 55:25SPEAKER_03: So, yes, Zangief arrives, Gile arrives, Dalsima arrives, then you're like, but you aren't gonna see them fight at any point in the film because the tournament is in the background, right?
- 55:34SPEAKER_03: So the point is that they had to the you couldn't have Dalsim and Bullrog and all of this be on the screen uh without fighting at least once during the film.
- 55:43SPEAKER_03: So, what does the director do?
- 55:44SPEAKER_03: There's a bar fight where they just start beating each other up, and the reasons for doing it become unbelievably unclear very quickly or are very stupid.
- 55:52SPEAKER_03: But then the people who switch sides within the fight, and I couldn't keep track of who was fighting who and who was on whose side.
- 55:58SPEAKER_03: Did you find the same thing?
- 55:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I did, yeah.
- 56:00SPEAKER_03: Because like there's a point where who's just the Delson just starts fighting somebody?
- 56:05SPEAKER_03: Is it Bulrug?
- 56:06SPEAKER_03: Vega, he starts fighting Vega.
- 56:08SPEAKER_03: I don't even know why, right?
- 56:09SPEAKER_03: But then one of them crashes into somebody else's into Zangeef's table, so Zangeef joins in, right?
- 56:15SPEAKER_03: But Ken is sort of in the way, so he starts getting slammed.
- 56:18SPEAKER_02: But it's fucking stupid.
- 56:20SPEAKER_02: Surely it'd just like have the tournament that was in Street Fighter 2, then everyone does fight, you know.
- 56:24SPEAKER_03: Now, the the whole thing about the Street Fighter plot is that there's a big tournament, everyone has their reasons for being there, right?
- 56:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then that's something the 90s film actually managed, right?
- 56:36SPEAKER_03: They all have their reasons be it for being there, but it all centres around bison, right?
- 56:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and in this, like you kind of get it like Ken just wants to be the best.
- 56:43SPEAKER_03: Ryu wants to save Ken.
- 56:45SPEAKER_03: I understand that.
- 56:46SPEAKER_03: Chun Lee, her storyline is that she wants to kill him bison because he killed her mum or something, right?
- 56:51SPEAKER_02: Uh her dad.
- 56:52SPEAKER_03: Her dad, right?
- 56:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 56:53SPEAKER_03: So she wants to get close to him.
- 56:55SPEAKER_03: Now she makes it very, very, very clear she does not care about her own personal safety.
- 57:00SPEAKER_03: All she wants is to kill him, then whatever happens doesn't matter.
- 57:04SPEAKER_02: That was her attitude in Street Fighter 2, so that's fine.
- 57:07SPEAKER_03: No, that's fine.
- 57:07SPEAKER_03: I like that.
- 57:08SPEAKER_03: So then why in the film, when she first meets Bison, right?
- 57:13SPEAKER_03: She is she like wants she's trying to become one of his hired goons, right?
- 57:19SPEAKER_03: So that she can get close to him.
- 57:21SPEAKER_03: Now, just before she has to literally brand her hand with a burning hot fucking piece of steel or iron or whatever to become one of his goons, he hands her a knife, she is pointing it directly at him.
- 57:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean right and she and then she goes, Oh, well, here, have this knife back, brand my hand.
- 57:40SPEAKER_03: Like it's disfigure me for life, because now's not the time.
- 57:44SPEAKER_03: It's like, what are you talking about?
- 57:45SPEAKER_03: You he was there, and at the film at the part of the film, it was even established that Bison is weak.
- 57:51SPEAKER_03: He's a weak nerd who cannot fight.
- 57:53SPEAKER_03: He stood right there, no armor on, he's he know that everyone knows he's weak.
- 57:58SPEAKER_03: She could the knife is a centimetre away from him, and she could have stabbed him, and she doesn't, she doesn't care about her own personal safety.
- 58:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so it could have been done really, to be honest.
- 58:08SPEAKER_02: Um it's such a senseless nightmare.
- 58:11SPEAKER_02: And also the the bit with I mean, do you remember in um like the original Street Fighter movie uh when she like goes like deep into like Shadaloo and stuff?
- 58:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know.
- 58:23SPEAKER_02: I mean, uh also it was annoying that they referenced that film in this film.
- 58:27SPEAKER_03: I was like, don't you know and the guy that played M Bison, for those that don't know, like the 90s.
- 58:32SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, he was the one that did it, wasn't he?
- 58:34SPEAKER_03: Uh yes.
- 58:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 58:36SPEAKER_03: But the 90s film was like r uh was was very, very silly, right?
- 58:40SPEAKER_03: Because the plots to Street Fighter and most fighting games are very, very silly.
- 58:44SPEAKER_03: All I wanted was a silly film that at least made a bit of sense.
- 58:47SPEAKER_03: That was funny, right?
- 58:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the film wasn't funny, decent plot, and it didn't make sense.
- 58:52SPEAKER_03: Whereas the 90s one, it was funny and the plot made sense, yeah, right?
- 58:56SPEAKER_03: It was silly, like it was stupid as fuck because most of the problems in the original Street Fighter could have been solved by somebody holding a gun, right?
- 59:04SPEAKER_03: But at the very least, the plot made sense and it was it was like fun, right?
- 59:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like Rao Julia playing um M.
- 59:11SPEAKER_03: Bison is one of his greatest roles, and he he knew he was about to die and he was acting his heart out, and it's amazing.
- 59:17SPEAKER_03: And this new bison said he thought of Rao Julia every minute of the way, right?
- 59:21SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, but did you manage to channel even like a thimble of that guy's talent?
- 59:27SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 59:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, who's one of the worst cast people?
- 59:30SPEAKER_02: Awful, awful.
- 59:32SPEAKER_02: Probably besides Dan, maybe Ken.
- 59:34SPEAKER_03: And even like they they included cameos from professional Street Fighter players.
- 59:40SPEAKER_02: They were bad.
- 59:41SPEAKER_02: They were really, really bad.
- 59:43SPEAKER_02: It's like they were inserted with AI, they they had Max and Justin Wong there.
- 59:47SPEAKER_03: And like Maximilian doing his catchphrase as a prisoner when I'm sorry, but if there's there's nobody in this entire world that looks like Maximilian and has lived a life living on the edge doing crimes.
- 59:59SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry about that, but but then seeing him in the prison cell going, let's go, doing his catchphrase.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_03: And then the blanker bit, right?
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_03: To say that Jason Momoa played Blanca is a lie, right?
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_03: Because he didn't.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_03: That's a cartoon you're watching there, that's a fucking CGI thing.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_03: There's one shot, one two-second shot in the entire film where you see Jason Mamara in the makeup, and the rest of it is all CGI and bad CGI at that.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_03: And that fight was like the whole film was so fucking contrived.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_03: They're just like, but do you know the bit where Ken and Ryu at the end get into near the end get into an argument, right?
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_03: Best friends in the entire world, the whatever the friend equivalent to soulmates are, that's Ken and Ryu, right?
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and there's a bit where they have a disagreement, and the fight, like they are smashing each other each other into buildings so hard they break, right?
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_03: They they have a disagreement and they're trying to kill each other.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_03: They're the best friends in the entire world and they're trying to fucking kill each other.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but they're such a per because they had to have Ken and Ryu fight, and it had to they had to go full force, despite the fact they love each other.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_03: What fucking sense does that make?
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_02: And it's weird because like they sort of said that they were following the story in the first two minutes of the film and then they didn't.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_02: If they just I mean, I don't mind like taking creative liberties and stuff, but it's like why don't you just it will would have been well easy to just follow the story of Street Fighter 2 after that would have been fine.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_03: Like having a thing some guile military shit.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like having a story focus centred around a tournament where everyone enters the tournament to get at the guy that's running it.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_03: Like imagine if every imagine if, like, say, I don't know, uh loads of MMA fighters wanted to kill Dana White and they all entered the biggest MMA tournament.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_03: That would be a good film.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_02: But the thing is more combat, the the night four one did it really well.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_02: That's what I was gonna say.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_02: Everyone went to go get Shang Sung for different reasons, innit?
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so you had four different uh like plots going on at the same time, all centred around that.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_03: The fights were good, the special effects were good, yeah.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_03: It was funny.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_02: The tournament was at the heart of everything, it was the focus.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_03: It did have bits of uh of subterfuge of people sneaking around, and that's what you want.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_03: That's all I wanted from the tournament.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_03: I wanted the tournament to be the I wanted the Street Fighter tournament to be the fucking thing, but it wasn't.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_03: And like Eric Andre was fucking dog shit in it.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_03: He was, yeah.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_03: And the thing is that like who wins the tournament, Sean?
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_03: Who wins the tournament?
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_03: Which Street Fighter character?
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_02: Uh well, spoiler, it's Joe.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_02: Um should have probably been Ryu or life.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_03: Uh uh Joe wins the tournament, right?
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_03: Joe, a character from Street Fighter 1 that nobody really except me and you even remember exists, right?
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_03: He wins.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_03: And the guy playing him is an actual MMA fighter, but they don't get him to do any choreographed moves.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_03: You never see him fight once, and he move he wins the tournament.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_03: Vega, one of the greatest Street Fighter characters of all time, wins off screen, beats Gile off screen.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_03: You never see Gile in an actual fight.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_02: No, you see Joe a lot though, and he's one of the least liked characters.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's a couple of really good characters from Street Fighter 1.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_03: Mainly those that were brought over to Street Fighter Alpha, like Birdie and Gen and things like this.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_03: But yeah, like like there's so much that happens off screen.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_02: It is one of the like Yeah, like Blanco was it blank and Vega?
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_03: No, it was Guile and Vega.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_02: But who like who doesn't want to see that?
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_03: I would love to see that.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_03: And and it's also you've got Cody Rhodes there, who's used he's a wrestler, so he's a stunt performer, right?
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_03: He could probably do some pretty impressive shit.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and like that it cuts back to him.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_03: The tournament has been going on without our knowledge, and he's got a scratch on his face, and he goes, That fucking guy used a weapon, how is that fair?
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_03: And it's like, I wanted to see them beat each other up.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_03: I mean, that it's called Street Fighter.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_03: What's what's happening?
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, it's it was absolutely awful.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_03: And do you know, like the like I said, the only the only bit that I really like was the anime anime opening, and right at the end, right right, right at the end when everyone's gone through the shit and Bison has escaped and they need to go after him, the Street Fighter characters start talking to each other um and uh like they're mates, and it's promising to sort of be a road trip movie about fighting, but that's the last two minutes.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_03: And I liked the bit where um they're standing by the roadside and Chan Lee says to Dan, he's like, he's like, Why the fuck are you do you even wear a pink gi, anyway?
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_03: Who wears a pink gi?
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_03: And he's like, It's not pink, it's white.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_03: I put it in the wash for Ken's clothes.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_03: And I thought that was kind of cool.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_03: But I suppose so.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_03: I mean like Ryu walking off into the sunset, then Guile pulling up the car next to him and being like, Do you just want to lift, mate?
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_03: And he's like, Yeah, actually, it's really far.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_03: I don't know why I decided to walk.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, everyone had that thought when they, you know, did Ryu's ending in Street Fighter 2, like, why is he, you know, why is he walking?
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_03: But that's it, they poked fun at it.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_03: Like the original, the the the 90s film it's a beautiful ending, but the 90s live action film took um liberties with with the plot, and there were so many things in it that were not accurate to the games, but all they were focused on was making a good film.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_03: They didn't give a fuck if it was 100% accurate, but they had the main main points down.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_03: I actually thought their their their interpretation of how Blanca was created was pretty cool.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_03: I thought them changing Chun Lee into a news reporter was pretty cool, um, rather than a policewoman.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_03: Like that kind of stuff is fine.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_03: It's fine.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't mind if they'd have changed stuff.
- 1:05:15SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't know, the anyway, uh, it was awful.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_03: It was genuinely one of the worst films I've ever seen.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's absolutely awful.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_02: I've really struggled to stay awake.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_03: Don't you think it's funny that in the 2000s, 2000s and 90s, the adults had this opinion that like adults don't watch cartoons, right?
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_03: Yes, now all films are so full of CGI.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_03: What are adults doing?
- 1:05:37SPEAKER_03: They're all watching cartoons, they're watching and and and now they're shitter than ever, right?
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_03: I I hated this film, it's just a shitty special effects film.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_03: It wasn't funny, the plot made no sense, the action wasn't even that good.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_03: Like, could you think of one action sequence in it in it that was good?
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_02: No, not at all.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_03: The E Honda Fight.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_03: E Honda Fight was good.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_03: Okay, that was that was really good.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_02: Um, but what about just having like a lovely anime?
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_03: Film because I just I thought that when I saw the first bit, I was like, I just want another Street Fighter animated film because the last one was fucking excellent.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_03: And the those parts out of all of it were the best bit.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah, 100%.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_03: Especially the bit with Cigar at the beginning.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_03: That was fucking, it was so good.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_03: I was like, when I watched that first the anime opening to it, I was like, this is gonna be sick.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_03: Like I like actually had hope.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_02: Like I I mean, like for like a sort of 1987 game to like have that sort of ending, and then to see that like come to life like that, it's just like yeah.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_03: But the fact that they included um people and scenarios from Street Fighter 1 when they basically really didn't need to, shows they did their research.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_03: That they did their research, but they just didn't care or use it, right?
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_03: That's my point.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_03: It's like alright, this would be a good idea.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_03: The one thing they didn't think about was they they did the research into what happens in the games, but one thing they didn't think about is what why people engage with the stories and characters in those games.
- 1:06:56SPEAKER_03: I don't really, but you do, and you and like a lot of people do like them, right?
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_02: Also, actually, yeah, I mean I do definitely.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_02: I mean, um it just felt so powerful, but um also it was never really used again, really.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, like they never explored the dark Hado stuff with Ryu at all after that.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_03: Wouldn't it be cool if Zagat came back, for example?
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_02: That would be that would be that that would be a start.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like because he's in Street Fighter 2.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_03: Wouldn't it be cool if he he was he was entering the tournament again and he was like, I'm gonna fucking kill you, Ryu.
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_03: But this time, here's actually here's an idea.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_03: What if he came back to the tournament and Ryu beat him last time because he let the dark uh powers come out to beat Zagart?
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_03: What if he so he went he went to be a recluse because he never wanted to see that side of himself again, right?
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he trained for like six years and then came back to Street Fighter.
- 1:07:46SPEAKER_03: So what if what if he ended the new tournament and him and Zagart got to the final, but this time he wanted to beat him without the power?
- 1:07:52SPEAKER_03: I mean that would have been a cool plot.
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_02: And like it would have been great.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_02: They didn't even need to write anything.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_03: They could just No, my point is if what he did that, what if they did that in this film?
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_03: It would have been like that, would have been really cool, right?
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_02: Especially with that Ryu, Ryu, like the actor who played Ryu, man.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he he had potential, man.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_03: Like, but yeah, shit uh Street Fighter movie is absolute fucking shit.
- 1:08:13SPEAKER_03: Do not see it.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_03: And I'm I'm not saying that if you're a Street Fighter fan, you won't enjoy it.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_03: If you're not a Street Fighter fan, you won't enjoy it either, so just don't bother.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_03: Um we've also both been playing Project Zomboid.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_03: Now we did go pretty long on the Street Fighter movie, but um Yeah, Sean told me to get this.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_03: This is a open world roguelike zombie survival immersive sim.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_02: Uh and it's also like sort of I mean, would you say it's like sort of an open thing?
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_03: Like because there's a lot use the term open world, yes.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_02: Open world, but like um, you know, like open, like because there's a lot of modding uh involved as well, in it.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_02: I mean there's a community.
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_03: Well, this is the the thing is it got a big new update recently, and loads of people have been going back to it.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_03: I've never played it that much, maybe once or twice.
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_03: But um, yeah, the whole idea is that you just you you create a character, get dropped on an island, and just have to survive for as long as possible.
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_02: When it's got like Then the water turns off in 14 days.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_03: Oh right, yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_03: So you but you've got like all those like it's an immersive sim, so there's like thousands of interact interactable objects and ways to do stuff, and uh you a lot of people say immersive sims are like based on the fact that you can move boxes and stack them to get around problems, and you could do that.
- 1:09:34SPEAKER_03: Um what I like about it though is that is that it's sort of like um the stories that come out of it when you think about what's happening.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_03: And so Sean and I we played one session of it so far, and it was fucking hilarious because um we started by um in the riverside area of the map.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we did, yeah.
- 1:09:53SPEAKER_03: And basically, like our first thing was like trying to find a place to lay down our hats, and we found this really nice hotel, didn't we?
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_03: And we were like, Oh, this is really nice.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_03: There's loads of food in the fridge, it's it's big, there's loads of place to to like hang out, there's alcohol, there we found some cigarettes too.
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_03: We were hanging around in there, and then it was like sort of a zombie got in, and we were like, right, this has been compromised, we killed it.
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_03: We went to go and find the next place on the way, you know, looting uh various shops and houses and all of this stuff.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_03: And then it was pretty funny because like we then spent the first half of the game sort of like because you need to read books to level up your character, and that takes time, right?
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we found this really quiet house in the middle of nowhere just with some decent food.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_03: I cooked us some burgers, you were going around like look looking for stuff, and and like it's quite nice.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_02: We were chilling in the garden, right?
- 1:10:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, we were literally sitting on sitting on garden furniture, like both reading a book and like uh and then chatting.
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_03: And like um there was a point where I went out on one of the balconies to smoke a cigarette as well and drinking booze, and like it was it had a quite a lot of chill because we we we managed to find an area that didn't have a lot of zombies, and then we were like, right, this is good, but there's not enough food here to live on.
- 1:11:02SPEAKER_03: So we so we decided to go out ranging and have a look for some stuff and found the most you know zombie-infected area we'd ever found.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah, started receiving injuries left, right, and centre.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_03: Like, there's so many status effects in this game, and like what did your character end up being?
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_03: Like, we were trying to escape this horde of zombies, we found like a pharmacy and were raiding it, and then they started coming in.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_03: And what happened to your character?
- 1:11:23SPEAKER_02: So I I had um I had like a uh broken leg, I had a broken leg because I tried to um get away from a zombie that was biting me, climbed the fence, and it like uh and I fell back down, broke my leg.
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_02: Um, then I got like a fever from being bit.
- 1:11:39SPEAKER_02: Um, and then I was really hot because I was running and I had a fever.
- 1:11:43SPEAKER_03: Um previously we had found a fire station, right?
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_02: And I was and I was getting thirsty as well.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:48SPEAKER_03: We found a fire station, and both of us had like these firefighters' axes.
- 1:11:52SPEAKER_02: Which I added in like as like a mod I added in.
- 1:11:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was one of the mods.
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and um we had these firemen's axes, and I see Sean like he's uh he's in a bad way.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_03: So I run back because only about five zombies around him, and I'm like, right, I'll fend them off long enough for him to get out of there.
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_03: And Sean's like Sean's like, I could see his character walking, and I was like, he's going, Save yourself, Farrison, get out of here, get out of here.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_03: And I'm chopping the zombies, and I'm like, right, okay, we're safe now.
- 1:12:14SPEAKER_03: They're down, this gives us a bit of room to escape.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_03: I start running, and I noticed Sean's character's going comically slow, and I'm like, is that as fast as you can go?
- 1:12:23SPEAKER_02: I was trying to sprint at the time, yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:26SPEAKER_03: And everything takes everything takes uh time to do.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_03: So I know I don't have the time or space because zombies are closing in slowly, but from all angles.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_03: I don't have the time or space to actually heal Sean up, so I'm like um desperately trying to fend off the zombies, and then at one point you get engulfed by about 20 of them.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_03: He's getting munched, right?
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, you successfully climbed the fence, and then like uh like just on the other side, I'm getting munched.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_03: It's so sad because your character died because you were trying to climb the fence, but he didn't fall over on the other side, then keep running.
- 1:12:55SPEAKER_03: He kept falling off on the same side, like failing to climb this fence.
- 1:12:59SPEAKER_03: Then my character was legging it, right?
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_03: And I'm like trying to get out of there.
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_03: There's what, maybe 50 to 100 of them chasing me at this point, and I run into these densely wooded forests thinking the bushes are gonna slow them down.
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_03: So I'm wearing this firefighters' uniform for protection.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_03: I've got rubber gloves on that I found in one of the houses, goggles that I found in one of the houses.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_04: Boil on us.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I know my character's hot.
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm exhausted, so I've got lung pain, I'm I'm wet as well from the sweat, and uh, I've got injuries, I'm bleeding all over the place.
- 1:13:28SPEAKER_03: So, at a certain point, like I I'm like, I'm about to drop down dead because I'm getting dehydrated from wearing all these clothes.
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_03: So I take them all off and put them in my backpack.
- 1:13:36SPEAKER_03: And so I the the end of the game, uh, where it was I was constantly hot because I was just having to literally do a cross-cross-country sprint to get out of there.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_03: I was running alongside a river, just in my my character's pants, uh, that is underwear for you Americans, and I'm running across this river, occasionally splashing water onto my face, and then just legging it, but I was just wearing rubber gloves and holding my axe.
- 1:13:58SPEAKER_03: And um that was about as far as we got, but it was so funny because what I must have been running for about 20 minutes, right?
- 1:14:05SPEAKER_02: I think you um I was looking at the map, and I think you might have been nearing a town.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_02: It's crazy, yeah.
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_03: Because we well, I was like, how long did these fucking woods go on for, man?
- 1:14:13SPEAKER_03: Like I was in the middle of nowhere with no dying from everything.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_03: I could if I found a bed, I could sit down, heal up, um, like heal up my injuries, drink some water, cool down, but I didn't have any of that luxury.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_02: I was Imagine like a just a huge national park in America, and that's what you were sort of in.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_03: I was in there, yeah, and it was like crazy, but it was just the the image of me because I couldn't slow down because of the zombies.
- 1:14:36SPEAKER_03: So I was like, I had to just constantly run, and my character was it like absolutely destroyed.
- 1:14:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you like flapping along.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_02: I was watching your stream, innit?
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:45SPEAKER_03: And I I was like having to just occasionally stop to bathe in the river, then jump out again and keep running.
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_02: Although, um, like next time we play, I mean I will talk about the mods a bit more, but next time we play, I've got uh a mod so like when you die and become a zombie, then you can be a player.
- 1:15:00SPEAKER_02: You can be you can also be a zombie.
- 1:15:04SPEAKER_03: What, so you you when you die you be you control the zombie?
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:08SPEAKER_02: Oh, like um so I could like just walk next to you or whatever.
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, oh right, to see what I'm doing.
- 1:15:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:14SPEAKER_03: Okay, fair enough.
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_03: Or like you because we thought there would be a ghost cam to watch the other player if you die, but there isn't, so I just shared my stream on on Discord.
- 1:15:22SPEAKER_02: Which is handy.
- 1:15:22SPEAKER_03: Sean's got like he really into the modding, um, like which is really cool actually.
- 1:15:28SPEAKER_03: And he sent me one a picture of one last night, and it was just a T-Rex chasing somebody, and I was like, please don't install this.
- 1:15:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but what ones have you got so far?
- 1:15:36SPEAKER_02: Um, so there's like some really like nice quality life stuff, so you can sort of change the way zombies move, uh the like how limbs work on people and stuff like that.
- 1:15:45SPEAKER_02: But um there's some really like cool ones like there's quests and stuff, um uh like um little silly ones like RPG haircuts, um, uh loads of buildings, like I found IKEA.
- 1:15:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so Sean put fire stations in the game, which I th I'm kind of it's weird because they should have already been in there, in my opinion.
- 1:16:05SPEAKER_03: But yeah, you've got Ikea in there now, which is pretty cool.
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_03: And we're saying we that next time we play, we're gonna try and find an IKEA and make that that our base.
- 1:16:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_03: Because they got food there, they've got fridges, they've got enough beds to go around.
- 1:16:15SPEAKER_02: And then um, yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 1:16:17SPEAKER_02: Um and that yeah, good point.
- 1:16:19SPEAKER_02: And then um I don't know, like um, like uh loads of uh different you can get loads of different enemies as well.
- 1:16:26SPEAKER_02: There's like endless, endless stuff.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_02: I mean, um like I've got loads of loads of the uh zombies from uh Resident Evil.
- 1:16:34SPEAKER_02: There's also like a dinosaur mod, so you could play just with dinosaurs as well.
- 1:16:38SPEAKER_03: There's one that changes it into is it gul geleinor or whatever the place from Runescape is called?
- 1:16:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and it changes it to look like Runescape as well.
- 1:16:45SPEAKER_03: Because to be honest, it already looks a little bit like Runescape.
- 1:16:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it does, it does.
- 1:16:49SPEAKER_02: Um and then also you've got like the uh third person and first person mod, which are cool, which people like, so you know, um, but yeah, I mean, um, and then there's also servers that people run when it's like living and breathing sort of cities, like um yeah, like people like persistent world.
- 1:17:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, like um like people were like, yeah, so you can like there are actual doctors like players.
- 1:17:14SPEAKER_03: So hang on a minute, that you so it would be somebody with a PC that's just keeping the game on constantly.
- 1:17:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:17:20SPEAKER_03: I really like that idea.
- 1:17:21SPEAKER_03: I thought I think we should do that.
- 1:17:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think so.
- 1:17:23SPEAKER_03: But then if you that means it's like it's like DD used to be when it first came out in in like the 70s, right?
- 1:17:29SPEAKER_03: Where time that elapses in in your real life is the amount of time that elapses in the game.
- 1:17:35SPEAKER_02: I guess so, yeah.
- 1:17:36SPEAKER_03: So it'd be a bit like that.
- 1:17:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because you would have to leave your character in a safe position.
- 1:17:40SPEAKER_03: You could come back and the zombies got in and then eating them.
- 1:17:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you you you'd have to barricade doors.
- 1:17:45SPEAKER_03: That's a fact.
- 1:17:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, definitely, definitely.
- 1:17:47SPEAKER_02: I mean, um there is that sort of element.
- 1:17:50SPEAKER_03: Did I actually say the game name at the beginning of this?
- 1:17:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Project Zomboid.
- 1:17:53SPEAKER_03: I'm so tired.
- 1:17:54SPEAKER_03: But yeah, Project Zomboid, it's really good.
- 1:17:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:17:56SPEAKER_03: 20 quid.
- 1:17:57SPEAKER_03: And but it's it seems like one of those that's gonna have infinite replayability.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_02: That's it, yeah.
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, definitely.
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_02: I mean, it we'll we'll be playing it a lot, um, which like sort of I'll talk about in the next on my segment as well.
- 1:18:10SPEAKER_03: Alright, sweet.
- 1:18:10SPEAKER_03: Um, I've been playing another zombie game.
- 1:18:13SPEAKER_03: I've been playing the multiplayer online Resident Evil game for the PS2 Resident Evil Resident Evil Outbreak.
- 1:18:31SPEAKER_03: So this is a bit of a weird one.
- 1:18:32SPEAKER_03: Like, I'm sure people have seen this on Instagram and stuff like this, where there's now games being mashed together via AI-based mods.
- 1:18:39SPEAKER_03: And this is sort of similar, like, so a Resident Evil Outbreak was a multiplayer Resident Evil where four of you would have to enter a Resident Evil type environment and solve puzzles and shoot zombies.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_02: Sodly one of the least remembered Resident Evil games.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_03: I know, I I know diehard Resident Evil fans that I've talked to at uni don't even know that it exists, right?
- 1:18:58SPEAKER_03: And it was an online game and it was online only using the PS2 mode M, which is part of why nobody's heard of it.
- 1:19:04SPEAKER_03: And the second reason is that the first game never came out in England for some reason.
- 1:19:08SPEAKER_02: Nah, but um was demoed at Gamescons back.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_03: It was.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_03: There was a there was a playable English build of it that never was released.
- 1:19:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:19:16SPEAKER_03: Um, very, very odd.
- 1:19:18SPEAKER_03: Um, but the thing is, now somebody, what they've done is they've made it so that Resident Evil Outbreak File 1 and File 2 are playable in English in a browser with people.
- 1:19:29SPEAKER_02: Let's go.
- 1:19:29SPEAKER_02: That's nice.
- 1:19:30SPEAKER_03: Now, the thing is, now I did say I did hear that it was very buggy, right?
- 1:19:35SPEAKER_03: Because it was vibe coded.
- 1:19:37SPEAKER_03: And vibe coded, for those not in the know, is um people that want to feel like they've coded, but they don't want to say they did it with AI because then you know they haven't done any work, so they came up with a title for it.
- 1:19:45SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 1:19:46SPEAKER_03: So this is a vibe-coded online browser-based Resident Evil outbreak.
- 1:19:50SPEAKER_03: Somebody said it was glitchy, and I wasn't expecting, like, I sort of thought maybe it would have slowed down or um like you might glitch through objects, or like you know, minor stuff, right?
- 1:20:01SPEAKER_03: But what happens is like so the game has a timer mechanic.
- 1:20:05SPEAKER_03: Everyone at the start of each uh scenario is infected already, right?
- 1:20:10SPEAKER_03: And that goes up as the game goes on.
- 1:20:12SPEAKER_03: And if you take damage, you get more infected and eventually become a zombie and need to attack the other players.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_03: So I booted it up.
- 1:20:18SPEAKER_03: I've heard that it's glitchy, and I and I'm like, can't be that bad, surely.
- 1:20:22SPEAKER_03: I get into a game, um, uh, I start a game and I do the first scenario.
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_03: I'm playing as Yoko, the Japanese student, I go into another room and I go in there with the blonde lady whose name I can't remember.
- 1:20:34SPEAKER_03: She goes through a door, comes back, and then her infection level just rises to 100 out of nowhere for no reason.
- 1:20:40SPEAKER_03: She turns into a zombie in front of my eyes and then just starts munching me.
- 1:20:44SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Yeah, I'm alright.
- 1:20:46SPEAKER_03: And I just fought out, and that was it.
- 1:20:48SPEAKER_02: That's really bad.
- 1:20:49SPEAKER_02: I thought I was expecting some weird door shite or something.
- 1:20:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like maybe you'd see somebody like when they go into another room glitch it and phase out or something like this.
- 1:20:57SPEAKER_02: But that is expect someone to fry up and turn into a zombie.
- 1:21:00SPEAKER_03: But that's a weird glitch that wasn't present in the original game, which makes me think that parts of the actual game were vibe coded again.
- 1:21:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:21:08SPEAKER_03: Like, yeah, but then I know that there is a way to play it um via the uh PS PC SX2 emulator online, and lots of people still do, and there's tutorials about how to do it.
- 1:21:21SPEAKER_03: It's just that this was a bit revolutionary because it requires no tinkering to play.
- 1:21:25SPEAKER_03: And when I went on there last night, there were 250 people playing it, so I don't know how consistent those glitches are, but it I was just like, no, I'm good.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_03: If that is the level of glitch that can be possible, fuck that.
- 1:21:36SPEAKER_03: I'll do the PCS X2 thing.
- 1:21:38SPEAKER_02: You give it like a couple more days and nobody will be playing it, to be fair.
- 1:21:42SPEAKER_03: Maybe, yeah, maybe maybe you and I should try it at some point and see what it's like.
- 1:21:46SPEAKER_03: Resident Evil Wildbreak File 2 is one of my favourite games of all time.
- 1:21:48SPEAKER_03: Favorite mode player games.
- 1:21:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's great, it's really not did it all though, to be fair.
- 1:21:53SPEAKER_02: We've we've done all of it.
- 1:21:54SPEAKER_03: I've done all of it, I've unlocked all the characters.
- 1:21:56SPEAKER_03: But I would I would love to go back just to play it once.
- 1:21:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:21:59SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 1:22:00SPEAKER_03: So yeah, that was pretty funny.
- 1:22:02SPEAKER_03: Um the other thing I've been playing is Big Walk again.
- 1:22:06SPEAKER_03: Oh, we talked about this, didn't we?
- 1:22:08SPEAKER_03: Not in the last no, we haven't.
- 1:22:09SPEAKER_03: That was this was after.
- 1:22:10SPEAKER_02: This is you've done the third Big Walk.
- 1:22:13SPEAKER_03: Did I talk about my subsequent Big Walk playthrough on the last podcast?
- 1:22:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:22:16SPEAKER_03: Alright, we'll forget that.
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_02: The whole like saga of the uh annoying South African, huh?
- 1:22:21SPEAKER_03: Did I not just tell you that in real life?
- 1:22:23SPEAKER_02: No, no, we we took we discussed it on here.
- 1:22:27SPEAKER_03: Did we him throwing equipment about on that?
- 1:22:30SPEAKER_03: Alright, we'll forget that.
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_03: Um right, the I will I've got loads on my list here, um, but uh I would just talk about two more, right?
- 1:22:38SPEAKER_03: The first one, I'm gonna be uh I've I've played Moochie Moochie Pork and Pink Sweets Boosted.
- 1:22:55SPEAKER_03: So um everybody knows I like Schmupps, nobody likes them, but I want to talk about this because of the format of the Game of the Year show that we're gonna do it revolves around things that we've mentioned on the show.
- 1:23:05SPEAKER_03: So I'm bringing it up for that reason.
- 1:23:07SPEAKER_02: Things I've like things that we've mentioned on the show is probably like my hardest subject, to be honest.
- 1:23:12SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm gonna put it into a document for you, don't worry.
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_02: But I want to talk about your mouth.
- 1:23:17SPEAKER_02: That's my expert subject.
- 1:23:19SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:23:19SPEAKER_03: But I uh I'm bringing this game up so that I can nominate it for something in our game of the year show.
- 1:23:23SPEAKER_03: That's all I'm saying.
- 1:23:24SPEAKER_02: What what for best schmuck?
- 1:23:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:23:27SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:23:28SPEAKER_03: That's cool.
- 1:23:29SPEAKER_03: But uh I don't know, best gameplay or something?
- 1:23:31SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 1:23:32SPEAKER_02: Best gameplay.
- 1:23:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, probably so it's by cave, they're the they're the absolute goats of uh shoot 'em up games.
- 1:23:40SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:23:40SPEAKER_03: Um this you've played these before, actually, Sean.
- 1:23:43SPEAKER_03: We played them on on emulator.
- 1:23:45SPEAKER_03: But um, this is a big new release that they've put onto Steam.
- 1:23:48SPEAKER_03: Now, notably, this version of the game is so it's two games, it's Moochimochi Pork and Pink Suites, and it's the boosted versions of them, so it comes with new stuff.
- 1:23:58SPEAKER_03: It's not the port is not handled by an M2, um, it's handled by another company I've never heard of, and as a result, it doesn't really have the polish that M2 games have.
- 1:24:07SPEAKER_03: What it does have is the um very useful new gadgets that re-releases of Schmupps happen to have.
- 1:24:13SPEAKER_03: For example, on the game Pink Suites, there is uh an invisible stat that you need to track, which is for uh when you destroy enemy bullets, right?
- 1:24:23SPEAKER_03: You need to know how many of those you've done to initiate a glitch to get an extra life to do the easiest route in the game, right?
- 1:24:33SPEAKER_03: That's like the most commonly play uh way to play the game.
- 1:24:36SPEAKER_03: And uh this new version of it just adds a counter for you that you can use.
- 1:24:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's good.
- 1:24:42SPEAKER_03: Pretty handy.
- 1:24:43SPEAKER_03: Uh although I do hate Pink Suites and I think it's rubbish because it does it happens to have you know, like most shmups will have a slowdown button that you can use to go half the speed when you're doing precise shit.
- 1:24:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:24:52SPEAKER_03: Pink Suite's has one of those where you toggle between five different speeds, and I just hate that.
- 1:24:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's a bit annoying.
- 1:24:59SPEAKER_03: But Muchi Moochie Porkit is a very, very um good uh cartoonish, very sort of pure schmup experience.
- 1:25:06SPEAKER_03: Um that sounds we did actually play it, and it's it's fucking excellent.
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_02: Well, both of us played it.
- 1:25:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, me and you played it together many, many years ago.
- 1:25:14SPEAKER_03: But yeah, it's good, it's really, really good.
- 1:25:16SPEAKER_03: Uh, the the only thing is that I I won't go on about it because people don't give a shit about schmups.
- 1:25:21SPEAKER_03: But it's got uh it's got a cute art style and it's all about rescuing uh rescuing pigs, which is fucking cool.
- 1:25:28SPEAKER_02: Um I think well uh one or two people are gonna like pick this up to be honest.
- 1:25:32SPEAKER_03: Well they do this is it, right?
- 1:25:33SPEAKER_03: The big trouble is isn't and cave cave releases tend to be too expensive.
- 1:25:37SPEAKER_03: I mean, like that's the trouble.
- 1:25:39SPEAKER_03: Death Smiles is is on to say on Steam for£25.
- 1:25:43SPEAKER_03: Akai Katana is£25.
- 1:25:45SPEAKER_03: The new Dodon Pache one that d like released on Steam that had less content than the previous Steam Dodon Pache release um is£35 fucking quid.
- 1:25:55SPEAKER_02: I've got to be honest, that's probably probably the reason I haven't bought it, like hardly any of them.
- 1:26:00SPEAKER_03: Dodon Pache Resurrection, yeah, exactly.
- 1:26:02SPEAKER_03: But that's it, it's the price, right?
- 1:26:04SPEAKER_03: But when they they never go on fucking sale.
- 1:26:06SPEAKER_03: But the only reason I bought Mochi Michi Pork and Pink Sweets, but it was because it is£35, but I traded in Star Fox.
- 1:26:14SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, but so I was like, Yeah, Star Fox I thought might be a game, a schmuck that I could infinitely perfect and have a good time on.
- 1:26:21SPEAKER_03: No, and it's not, but this is so I'm pretty happy with my uh my purchase there.
- 1:26:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, great game, not worth 35 quid, and especially because the the package that it's held in is like the menus look sub PS2.
- 1:26:35SPEAKER_03: Um, the new gadgets that they've done, I don't know how they got them to look as bad as they do.
- 1:26:40SPEAKER_03: It's weird.
- 1:26:41SPEAKER_03: They're useful, but they look like shit, and I don't know how they've managed to make it that bad.
- 1:26:44SPEAKER_03: But the main reason I wanted to own it and not just fucking emulate it is because it's got replays built in.
- 1:26:49SPEAKER_03: And I can't do that on meme, and I want to record replays for our YouTube channel and comment over them.
- 1:26:54SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, that's cool, that's cool.
- 1:26:55SPEAKER_03: So yeah, I thought worthwhile thing to get.
- 1:26:58SPEAKER_03: Um, the only other thing I've I've done is watch the Sonic 3 movie.
- 1:27:02SPEAKER_00: We need Team Sonic's immediate assistance.
- 1:27:05SPEAKER_00: Project Shadow is far beyond anything we've ever encountered.
- 1:27:10SPEAKER_00: Shadow's story began a lot like your Sonic.
- 1:27:14SPEAKER_00: But where you found family and friends.
- 1:27:18SPEAKER_00: Shadow found only pain.
- 1:27:23SPEAKER_03: Uh oh, you watched it.
- 1:27:24SPEAKER_03: That's right, I watched a Sonic thing.
- 1:27:26SPEAKER_02: You watched the Sonic 30.
- 1:27:28SPEAKER_03: I watched the entire trilogy, but I want to speak about Sonic 3, because it's the first one I watched.
- 1:27:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's a good one.
- 1:27:33SPEAKER_02: It's the only good one, I think.
- 1:27:34SPEAKER_03: I agree.
- 1:27:35SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 1:27:35SPEAKER_03: I agree, but it's an excellent film.
- 1:27:37SPEAKER_03: I don't know how they did it.
- 1:27:38SPEAKER_03: I don't Sonic, for those that don't know, is bad.
- 1:27:42SPEAKER_03: You can't just say Sonic.
- 1:27:44SPEAKER_03: I think I can.
- 1:27:45SPEAKER_03: Name a good Sonic game, sorry.
- 1:27:46SPEAKER_02: Um Sonic 3 and Knuckles.
- 1:27:49SPEAKER_02: Um Sonic Mania.
- 1:27:52SPEAKER_02: Not really.
- 1:27:52SPEAKER_03: Sonic 2.
- 1:27:53SPEAKER_03: No, bad.
- 1:27:54SPEAKER_02: Uh Sonic Adventure probably.
- 1:27:57SPEAKER_02: Oh, you cannot.
- 1:27:58SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:27:58SPEAKER_02: Sonic Adventure has.
- 1:28:00SPEAKER_02: Never been good.
- 1:28:01SPEAKER_02: Well, like the first one is the map is I mean, to be fair, like um once you sort of realise that um you know you're supposed to like sort of go outside of what is prescribed.
- 1:28:13SPEAKER_03: Sonic has never been good, which is why it's wait a minute.
- 1:28:15SPEAKER_03: Um wait a minute.
- 1:28:16SPEAKER_03: There's a lot of have you even played Sonic and the Secret Rings?
- 1:28:19SPEAKER_03: No, that sucks.
- 1:28:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I know.
- 1:28:21SPEAKER_03: I know like all Sonic games.
- 1:28:23SPEAKER_02: Also, Sonic Boom, the series, uh not the game, the game's terrible, but the uh the TV series is very funny enough.
- 1:28:29SPEAKER_03: I was speaking to Ghost from the Discord about this, and they actually mentioned Sonic Boom being worth a watch.
- 1:28:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it is, it's really good.
- 1:28:37SPEAKER_03: So I might watch it, but Sonic Jesse would like it as well, your son.
- 1:28:40SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 1:28:41SPEAKER_03: But I I watched Sonic 3 basically, it was the last few days of us having Netflix, and Jesse looked at uh Netflix and was like, I want to watch that and pointed at Sonic 3.
- 1:28:53SPEAKER_03: And I went, I was like, no, mate, we're not watching that.
- 1:28:56SPEAKER_03: Like, you know, you're Sonic, you know what Sonic's like, right?
- 1:28:58SPEAKER_03: You're a man of of high tastes, you might be five, but you know Sonic's shit.
- 1:29:02SPEAKER_03: Like, you know, it's like everyone fucking hates Jesse loves Sonic, he fucking hates Sonic, man.
- 1:29:07SPEAKER_02: And then he will, like, yeah, you know, it will after he will after I have brainwashed him.
- 1:29:13SPEAKER_03: But um, it was one of those where he pointed at it and he was he was tired, he was in a bad mood, and I was like, he went, I want to watch that.
- 1:29:20SPEAKER_03: And I went, absolutely not.
- 1:29:21SPEAKER_03: I'm not having my son turn into a furry.
- 1:29:23SPEAKER_03: And he went, please, and it was clear he was about to cry about it.
- 1:29:26SPEAKER_03: I was just like, Do you know what?
- 1:29:27SPEAKER_03: It's not worth arguing about.
- 1:29:28SPEAKER_03: Let him watch it and realise on its own that uh on his own that shit.
- 1:29:32SPEAKER_03: I sat down and I watched it with him for a bit.
- 1:29:34SPEAKER_03: Because I basically I watched it because I wanted to complain about it on here, and it's one of the best movies I've seen in a while.
- 1:29:39SPEAKER_03: It's great.
- 1:29:39SPEAKER_02: They just followed the like um they had like its own film plot, but it like followed the plot from the games, like each character had their own, so like they didn't really I mean the git the plot was good, but it's like they didn't it was like Street Fire could have taken a lesson from that, basically, you know.
- 1:29:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the like and I like the um what's his name?
- 1:30:02SPEAKER_03: The the guy from the first one didn't really feature much in it, which I thought was cool.
- 1:30:06SPEAKER_02: That needed to happen.
- 1:30:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then I I also thought the emotional moment with Robotnik at the end, and also like the the the fucking flashback was Shadow the Hedgehog in the lab and where he makes that that I was like, how is it how has something made me care about Shadow the fucking hedgehog?
- 1:30:23SPEAKER_02: Well like that was that was a thing that was told to us in the older games, and it was good to see that, and they did like a really good job.
- 1:30:29SPEAKER_02: They did a great job of flower, yeah.
- 1:30:30SPEAKER_03: I think I think out of all the Sonic characters and all everything that is Sonic uh that franchise has ever included in them, I think Shadow might be the worst thing, right?
- 1:30:40SPEAKER_03: Because it's just it's just as it's Sonic, but he's black and he says fuck and he holds a gun.
- 1:30:44SPEAKER_02: I don't know if he's the worst thing.
- 1:30:46SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's quite a lot of bad Sonic characters.
- 1:30:48SPEAKER_03: I would say yes, but Shadow the Hedgehog's level of cringe makes him worse than it's very much like 2004.
- 1:30:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so it's like it that's where his his presence is even worse than say Big the Cat, Charmie B.
- 1:31:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, right.
- 1:31:01SPEAKER_03: I mean, they're timeless, really.
- 1:31:03SPEAKER_03: So uh the fact that the film made me care about Shadow the Hedgehog and actually made me feel emotions.
- 1:31:08SPEAKER_03: I was like, what the fuck is going on?
- 1:31:10SPEAKER_03: There's a good Sonic film that exists.
- 1:31:12SPEAKER_02: And also we got to see Jim Carrey doing good work again.
- 1:31:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, loved it.
- 1:31:16SPEAKER_03: I absolutely loved it.
- 1:31:17SPEAKER_03: The fact that he played two robot next, it's like double Jim Carrey.
- 1:31:20SPEAKER_03: It's fucking it was a great film, absolutely brilliant.
- 1:31:22SPEAKER_03: And I was like, I was I was so surprised because the first two are really mid.
- 1:31:28SPEAKER_02: The ending, yeah, they are the ending actually.
- 1:31:30SPEAKER_03: I didn't tear it.
- 1:31:31SPEAKER_02: A bit of a tear jerker there.
- 1:31:33SPEAKER_03: It's uh bit of a penis jerker, yeah.
- 1:31:37SPEAKER_03: Definitely.
- 1:31:40SPEAKER_02: No, it I wouldn't say that I teared.
- 1:31:42SPEAKER_02: No, it wasn't like tearing up, but it was like, you know, it's like a moment, yeah.
- 1:31:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was actually and then like do you know what at the end?
- 1:31:49SPEAKER_03: Did you see the bit the post-credits bit?
- 1:31:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I did.
- 1:31:51SPEAKER_03: When Metal Sonic turns up and Amy turns up, who right?
- 1:31:55SPEAKER_03: I'll be honest, you remember that ninety 90s British Sonic anime that had Amy in it?
- 1:32:01SPEAKER_03: Sonic X, yeah.
- 1:32:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and that was where she um was introduced, right?
- 1:32:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I thought I I liked her in that, and now she's coming back for the the like a sequel to that really good film.
- 1:32:12SPEAKER_03: I mean I I actually was hyped by the pro post-credit sequence.
- 1:32:15SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's been hyped for like two years now.
- 1:32:16SPEAKER_03: It's another one yeah, because it came out a while ago.
- 1:32:18SPEAKER_03: Like I I actually hope they they make I I would go to the cinema and see it.
- 1:32:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's mental.
- 1:32:24SPEAKER_03: I cannot believe it.
- 1:32:25SPEAKER_03: I'm not a furry, yeah, but I never will be.
- 1:32:28SPEAKER_02: But it's like you say, like the the first two films were sorry, the first two films were not that great, to be fair.
- 1:32:35SPEAKER_02: Um, especially the first one, it's so boring.
- 1:32:37SPEAKER_02: But still better than Street Fire.
- 1:32:39SPEAKER_03: The first one is quite boring, and it still is better than Street Fire.
- 1:32:41SPEAKER_03: It had moments, but yeah, not not great, but not terrible.
- 1:32:44SPEAKER_03: But whereas Sonic 3 is very, very good.
- 1:32:46SPEAKER_03: I'd recommend it to anyone.
- 1:32:48SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, even Millie liked it.
- 1:32:50SPEAKER_03: Uh I think that is it for everything I I've been playing.
- 1:32:53SPEAKER_03: Now, I I have played Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero.
- 1:32:58SPEAKER_03: But I won't go on about those.
- 1:33:00SPEAKER_02: No, what you've been playing Genshin Impact, like what have these people at Uni been doing to you, man?
- 1:33:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:33:05SPEAKER_03: Do you know every so often I get an urge to play a gacha game?
- 1:33:08SPEAKER_03: And two of my mates at uni really recommended it, and they're two people that happen to have actually good ch tastes.
- 1:33:14SPEAKER_03: What do you mean that sucks?
- 1:33:15SPEAKER_03: I like it.
- 1:33:16SPEAKER_02: Well, Genshin Impact.
- 1:33:17SPEAKER_02: It's good.
- 1:33:18SPEAKER_02: It's a good game.
- 1:33:20SPEAKER_02: Um, but I mean you'll realise that it's not after a while.
- 1:33:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's what everyone keeps telling me.
- 1:33:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:33:26SPEAKER_02: But I've played about six hours, it's quite good.
- 1:33:28SPEAKER_02: Oh no, that's good, yeah.
- 1:33:29SPEAKER_02: Enjoy, enjoy it while you can, I guess.
- 1:33:31SPEAKER_03: Because you played it for a bit, didn't you?
- 1:33:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I did.
- 1:33:33SPEAKER_03: Your ex-girlfriend's son sort of made you play it, didn't he?
- 1:33:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:33:36SPEAKER_03: She was nice, wasn't she?
- 1:33:37SPEAKER_02: Nah, she was I mean, that was like probably like one of the like least worst bits.
- 1:33:41SPEAKER_02: That was still bad.
- 1:33:42SPEAKER_02: That's still bad.
- 1:33:43SPEAKER_03: I still can you imagine if you were like that that Genshin Impact is worse than this abusive relationship I was in.
- 1:33:49SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, Sean abused that woman pretty bad.
- 1:33:51SPEAKER_03: It was what?
- 1:33:54SPEAKER_03: No, it was the other way around.
- 1:33:56SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 1:33:56SPEAKER_03: Why don't we actually here's a segment for the show?
- 1:33:58SPEAKER_03: Why don't we call her up now and ask her about Genshin Impact?
- 1:34:01SPEAKER_02: I can't really call it.
- 1:34:02SPEAKER_02: I mean, I've Do you still have do you have a number still?
- 1:34:04SPEAKER_02: No, I don't.
- 1:34:05SPEAKER_02: Why have you ever wanted to re-kindle the upper matches?
- 1:34:07SPEAKER_02: Why would I ever wanted to ring her?
- 1:34:09SPEAKER_02: Whoa.
- 1:34:12SPEAKER_03: Tell the tell the story about when you got uh the Robotics Nights visual visual novel.
- 1:34:17SPEAKER_02: Oh, I've already told it on the show.
- 1:34:19SPEAKER_03: Oh, you have, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:34:20SPEAKER_03: Alright, um let's go on to our items, shall we?
- 1:34:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:34:30SPEAKER_03: It's hurting me, it's actually hurting me.
- 1:34:32SPEAKER_02: Nobody's getting shot, man.
- 1:34:34unknown: Right.
- 1:34:34SPEAKER_02: I'll just bring one right.
- 1:34:36SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna do my item first.
- 1:34:39SPEAKER_03: It's called Shot in the Dark, right?
- 1:34:41SPEAKER_03: Now, as we all know, content on TV is slowly degrading.
- 1:34:44SPEAKER_03: We already gather round to watch real real people ruin their lives on reality TV or to watch so-called documentaries treat other cultures like something to poke fun at.
- 1:34:52SPEAKER_03: And of course, the worst of them all, anything to do with Ricky Gervais.
- 1:34:56SPEAKER_03: So I thought of an idea, right?
- 1:34:57SPEAKER_03: I had a futuristic game show idea.
- 1:34:59SPEAKER_03: It's a quiz show, but if you get a question wrong, you're shot to death live on TV, right?
- 1:35:05SPEAKER_03: But if you get it right, you get to shoot the host to death live on TV.
- 1:35:10SPEAKER_02: We're not like shooting a airsoft gun.
- 1:35:13SPEAKER_03: Right, those just listen to me, right?
- 1:35:15SPEAKER_03: The twist, the twist of this, the questions aren't multi-choice and they're incredibly hard.
- 1:35:21SPEAKER_03: Now we're gonna do a pilot of this right now.
- 1:35:23SPEAKER_03: Basically, I have a loaded, gas-powered airsoft pistol here, and I'm gonna ask you some very hard questions about video games.
- 1:35:31SPEAKER_03: If you get them right, you uh get to shoot this gun at me.
- 1:35:35SPEAKER_03: If you're wrong, don't- I don't want to shoot the gun.
- 1:35:38SPEAKER_03: If you are wrong, however, you will um you will you will get shot, okay?
- 1:35:44SPEAKER_02: I don't want to do I neither of those things are gonna happen.
- 1:35:48SPEAKER_03: Right, so this is what we're doing.
- 1:35:49SPEAKER_03: Right, so right, I'm just gonna cock it.
- 1:35:52SPEAKER_03: No, don't cock the gun.
- 1:35:53SPEAKER_03: When you need to shoot somebody, you just press that down and pull.
- 1:35:56SPEAKER_03: You don't need to cock it, alright?
- 1:35:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, of course.
- 1:35:59SPEAKER_03: Right, so I've got it there.
- 1:36:00SPEAKER_02: I've played airsoft before.
- 1:36:02SPEAKER_03: Right, now, right, question number one.
- 1:36:04SPEAKER_03: Just remember, remember what's on the line here, okay?
- 1:36:07SPEAKER_03: Come on, this is adding a bit of bit of suspense into the show, right?
- 1:36:12SPEAKER_03: Because this is gonna hurt.
- 1:36:13SPEAKER_03: Right, question number one.
- 1:36:15SPEAKER_03: What was the first game to ever use the famous Konami code?
- 1:36:19SPEAKER_02: Um, Contra.
- 1:36:21SPEAKER_03: Wrong.
- 1:36:21SPEAKER_03: Right, you've got to stand up.
- 1:36:22SPEAKER_03: No, face face the curtain.
- 1:36:25SPEAKER_03: Sean, this is for the content.
- 1:36:27SPEAKER_03: I'm not gonna shoot, I'm not gonna do it without your permission.
- 1:36:30SPEAKER_03: But you have to be you have to do not consent.
- 1:36:33SPEAKER_03: Consent, please.
- 1:36:34SPEAKER_03: I do not consent.
- 1:36:35SPEAKER_03: Could you consent to not consent?
- 1:36:37SPEAKER_03: Stand over there, stand over there to get please.
- 1:36:40SPEAKER_03: No, I'm not I'm just gonna shoot you in the back.
- 1:36:43SPEAKER_03: That's alright, yeah.
- 1:36:45SPEAKER_03: Yes, of course it hurts.
- 1:36:46SPEAKER_03: That's the suspense.
- 1:36:47SPEAKER_03: You got the question.
- 1:36:48SPEAKER_03: You got the question.
- 1:36:49SPEAKER_03: Is it a pain?
- 1:36:50SPEAKER_03: You you got the question wrong.
- 1:36:52SPEAKER_03: Just take your lumps, alright?
- 1:36:54SPEAKER_03: Stand over there.
- 1:36:55SPEAKER_03: Oh, it's a good guess, though.
- 1:36:56SPEAKER_03: It was a good guess.
- 1:36:57SPEAKER_03: But unfortunately the answer is gradius.
- 1:36:59SPEAKER_03: It was gradius.
- 1:37:00SPEAKER_03: Okay, good guess.
- 1:37:01SPEAKER_03: It's gradius.
- 1:37:02SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 1:37:02SPEAKER_03: Okay, so stand over there.
- 1:37:03SPEAKER_03: Loganami games.
- 1:37:05SPEAKER_03: Stand over there and I'll shoot.
- 1:37:06SPEAKER_03: Alright, because No, but you might get the next one right.
- 1:37:09SPEAKER_03: And then you get to shoot me.
- 1:37:11SPEAKER_03: What's the next one?
- 1:37:11SPEAKER_03: The next one is in what New Mexican City were unsold copies of ET for Atari 2600 buried.
- 1:37:17SPEAKER_02: Oh no.
- 1:37:18SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 1:37:20SPEAKER_03: Right, but you did get well, we'll get to that in a minute.
- 1:37:24SPEAKER_03: I'll let you have another answer because we're not moving on to question two yet.
- 1:37:27SPEAKER_03: You haven't taken your lumps for question one.
- 1:37:29SPEAKER_03: Don't take that off.
- 1:37:31SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:37:31SPEAKER_03: We'll go over there and I'll shoot you for question one and then we'll move on to question two.
- 1:37:35SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 1:37:36SPEAKER_03: No, because you have to no, but you get to shoot me if you get these right.
- 1:37:39SPEAKER_02: It's really it's really stupid.
- 1:37:42SPEAKER_03: It's not really stupid.
- 1:37:43SPEAKER_02: It's good, it's cool.
- 1:37:45SPEAKER_02: It's uh it's almost cool.
- 1:37:47SPEAKER_02: Uh almost it's gonna be male existence.
- 1:37:51SPEAKER_02: It'll be turned into male stupidity.
- 1:37:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:37:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:37:55SPEAKER_03: And I've turned that into a quiz.
- 1:37:58SPEAKER_03: Right, stand over there and get shot.
- 1:37:59SPEAKER_03: Why did you want to do this first?
- 1:38:01SPEAKER_03: Right because right, because so far the show hasn't been that funny.
- 1:38:06SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:38:06SPEAKER_02: It has been quite funny.
- 1:38:07SPEAKER_03: I've enjoyed it.
- 1:38:08SPEAKER_03: Let's just go over there and get shots, please.
- 1:38:10SPEAKER_02: I'm not getting shots.
- 1:38:11SPEAKER_02: Sean, you're not getting shot.
- 1:38:13SPEAKER_02: Nobody's getting shot.
- 1:38:14SPEAKER_02: Somebody bring out a gun.
- 1:38:17SPEAKER_02: Because I'm trying to inject a bit of excitement into the shop.
- 1:38:21SPEAKER_03: Right, just Sean, just you and remember you can't really shout that loud when it hurts because my son's in bed.
- 1:38:26SPEAKER_03: So could you go over there and take your shot, please?
- 1:38:29SPEAKER_03: Sean.
- 1:38:29SPEAKER_02: Who says like someone I work with lives right above you, so it's like the Yeah, she does.
- 1:38:34SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:38:34SPEAKER_03: She's like, why are you gonna why are you screaming?
- 1:38:36SPEAKER_03: Why were you screaming last night, man?
- 1:38:38SPEAKER_03: You're not gonna scream because Jessie's in bed, mate.
- 1:38:40SPEAKER_03: So you have to you cannot scream.
- 1:38:42SPEAKER_03: Right, let's just get this over and done with because we've got five questions here.
- 1:38:45SPEAKER_03: No, you could end up shooting me.
- 1:38:47SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:38:48SPEAKER_03: Uh this shall I shoot one shot over there just to show you what it like what it's like?
- 1:38:52SPEAKER_02: No, because it's gonna ricochet off, man.
- 1:38:55SPEAKER_02: See, that's not that bad, is it?
- 1:38:56SPEAKER_02: It's quite bad.
- 1:38:57SPEAKER_02: You can hear the pat like snap of the right.
- 1:39:00SPEAKER_03: Go over there and just take your lumps and let's come can move on with the quiz, yeah?
- 1:39:04SPEAKER_03: Sure.
- 1:39:04SPEAKER_03: No, because I'll get shot five times.
- 1:39:06SPEAKER_03: Well, you you're like, no, I don't want content for the show.
- 1:39:08SPEAKER_03: We've worked so hard.
- 1:39:09SPEAKER_03: I do want.
- 1:39:10SPEAKER_03: You won't get shot five times because I reckon it's one of these that you'll get.
- 1:39:13SPEAKER_02: I do want content.
- 1:39:15SPEAKER_02: Can we just like have something lower than a gun though?
- 1:39:17SPEAKER_02: Like maybe.
- 1:39:18SPEAKER_02: Like a punch?
- 1:39:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I could I don't want to punch you.
- 1:39:21SPEAKER_02: I want to shoot you, man.
- 1:39:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't want to I don't want to be shot.
- 1:39:24SPEAKER_03: Oh, right.
- 1:39:25SPEAKER_03: Well so this is it.
- 1:39:26SPEAKER_03: The item that I've come up with, you're chucking it in the bin, are you?
- 1:39:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I am, yeah.
- 1:39:30SPEAKER_03: Can you not just Okay for a line?
- 1:39:32SPEAKER_03: Right, what about this one?
- 1:39:32SPEAKER_03: I'll I'll give you question three.
- 1:39:34SPEAKER_03: You got the second one wrong.
- 1:39:35SPEAKER_03: We'll I did.
- 1:39:36SPEAKER_03: We'll do all the shots, we'll do all the shocks at once.
- 1:39:39SPEAKER_03: Alright, three.
- 1:39:40SPEAKER_03: What was the first commercially sold video game home console?
- 1:39:44SPEAKER_02: Uh uh the uh Odyssey.
- 1:39:48SPEAKER_02: See, you got one right?
- 1:39:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you could you could be shooting me right now.
- 1:39:51SPEAKER_02: I could, yeah.
- 1:39:52SPEAKER_02: I don't want to though.
- 1:39:53SPEAKER_02: Right, but why do I want to do that?
- 1:39:55SPEAKER_03: I could just go over there and take your lumps, man.
- 1:39:57SPEAKER_03: This is the worst segment ever, because now we're not even doing it.
- 1:40:00SPEAKER_03: It's just me trying to go it's me trying to convince you to get shot.
- 1:40:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't want to though.
- 1:40:05SPEAKER_03: Right, well it's uh I put a lot of spent ages researching these, man.
- 1:40:10SPEAKER_02: Researching what, how to shoot a gun?
- 1:40:12SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:40:13SPEAKER_02: Good questions for the show.
- 1:40:15SPEAKER_02: Like quite basically.
- 1:40:16SPEAKER_02: Oh, you can't even this is you can't even be bothered.
- 1:40:18SPEAKER_02: You have to admit you can't even be bothered to come up with a good quiz.
- 1:40:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's a mediocre quiz that is made better by people getting shot.
- 1:40:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's the idea.
- 1:40:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:40:27SPEAKER_02: Oh, I can't really come up with content.
- 1:40:29SPEAKER_02: I'll just add a gun to it.
- 1:40:30SPEAKER_02: That would make it exciting.
- 1:40:32SPEAKER_03: Have you ever thought of anything that you could add a gun to now?
- 1:40:34SPEAKER_02: To see if you damaged any property.
- 1:40:36SPEAKER_03: I I was looking over there to see where the BB is, so my cat doesn't eat it.
- 1:40:40SPEAKER_02: Alright, well that too, yeah.
- 1:40:41SPEAKER_02: So is that it then from our segment?
- 1:40:43SPEAKER_02: Is that it?
- 1:40:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:40:45SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 1:40:46SPEAKER_03: Well, so I'll just give you the questions now and then right, what does SNK stand for?
- 1:40:50SPEAKER_03: Uh I don't know.
- 1:40:51SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:40:51SPEAKER_03: What was the first fighting game tournament?
- 1:40:53SPEAKER_03: Uh what was the fighting game tournament Evo originally called?
- 1:40:56SPEAKER_02: Uh Battle by the Base.
- 1:40:58SPEAKER_03: So you would have you would have got to get shoot me twice and I would have shot you three times.
- 1:41:01SPEAKER_03: Should we just do that?
- 1:41:02SPEAKER_03: Should we just go over there?
- 1:41:03SPEAKER_03: We'll shoot each other that amount of times.
- 1:41:08SPEAKER_03: Right, well, now I've got one in the chamber, so I need to get rid of it.
- 1:41:12SPEAKER_01: Yay!
- 1:41:13SPEAKER_03: What was that noise?
- 1:41:15SPEAKER_03: Oh, it won't shoot with the without the thing in there.
- 1:41:17SPEAKER_03: Okay, well, this has been a wash out.
- 1:41:22SPEAKER_03: I'm trying to release the fucking gas from the cunt.
- 1:41:25SPEAKER_03: Oh, well, anyway.
- 1:41:26SPEAKER_03: Look, well, that that's a real shame, Sean.
- 1:41:29SPEAKER_02: You should charge the batteries up just for this.
- 1:41:31SPEAKER_03: It doesn't need batteries, Sean.
- 1:41:32SPEAKER_03: It's gas powered.
- 1:41:33SPEAKER_02: Oh, good point, yeah.
- 1:41:34SPEAKER_03: Alright, well, that's um to be honest with you, I'm really disappointed in you.
- 1:41:38SPEAKER_03: Why is that funny?
- 1:41:39SPEAKER_02: I'm at I'm I'm a bit annoyed because I thought that might be the only time where someone's disappointed, and I'm like, right, well, that's good.
- 1:41:46SPEAKER_02: Good.
- 1:41:46SPEAKER_02: But the thing is you're disappointed.
- 1:41:47SPEAKER_02: But the thing is, why no, no, why is it my job?
- 1:41:50SPEAKER_02: Why do I have like you didn't have to get shot?
- 1:41:53SPEAKER_02: All you have to do when I become the responsible adult, that's a sad state of affairs.
- 1:41:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but the thing is, all you had to do, all you had to do was get shot three times.
- 1:42:02SPEAKER_03: That's it.
- 1:42:03SPEAKER_03: You can't even do that.
- 1:42:04SPEAKER_03: You go to SL for fun, you get shot more than three times.
- 1:42:07SPEAKER_03: And also, we're trying to make this this show entertaining for people.
- 1:42:10SPEAKER_03: Can I just shoot you once?
- 1:42:12SPEAKER_02: You could have just come up with a good segment.
- 1:42:15SPEAKER_02: What like oh but you just came up with a shit segment, but with a gun.
- 1:42:19SPEAKER_02: I added a gun, yeah.
- 1:42:21SPEAKER_03: Right, name one part of this show that wouldn't be enhanced with the with a gun.
- 1:42:25SPEAKER_03: Um That's a good point.
- 1:42:28SPEAKER_03: Right, well, I covered all of my stuff up in this room to stop it from getting destroyed by gas-powered BBs.
- 1:42:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like some of it, yeah.
- 1:42:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so should I um some some some some of this stuff, yeah.
- 1:42:39SPEAKER_03: Alright, okay.
- 1:42:40SPEAKER_02: Well Summit would have got destroyed.
- 1:42:42SPEAKER_02: I'm glad I've stopped you.
- 1:42:44SPEAKER_02: I don't know why you stopped me.
- 1:42:45SPEAKER_03: This was gonna this would have been entertaining.
- 1:42:47SPEAKER_03: Alright, let's move on to yours.
- 1:42:48SPEAKER_03: I'll clean up these BBs here.
- 1:42:50SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 1:42:51SPEAKER_03: Go on then.
- 1:42:52SPEAKER_03: What's your s does your involv does your item involve a gun?
- 1:42:56SPEAKER_02: Well, it involves some guns, but virtual guns.
- 1:42:59SPEAKER_03: That's fucking lame.
- 1:43:00SPEAKER_02: Um well I just wanted to uh like talk about um guns.
- 1:43:05SPEAKER_03: Well, I am on the floor at the moment.
- 1:43:06SPEAKER_03: Give me a minute.
- 1:43:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:43:08SPEAKER_03: Lucky Lucky Lucky, lucky, lucky.
- 1:43:15SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah, go on then.
- 1:43:16SPEAKER_02: Right, I've Yeah, so uh I just uh wanted to talk about a bad mood now.
- 1:43:23SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 1:43:23SPEAKER_03: Um That was a good item.
- 1:43:26SPEAKER_02: Um I wanted to talk about um really like sort of maybe expanding our sort of YouTube with Project Zomboid stuff.
- 1:43:35SPEAKER_03: Shut up, Sean! Um right, so sorry about that.
- 1:43:38SPEAKER_03: Um one of the listeners sent me something and he said I didn't need to pay for it as long as I told you to shut up.
- 1:43:43SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 1:43:44SPEAKER_03: Carry on.
- 1:43:45SPEAKER_02: Um pay for what?
- 1:43:47SPEAKER_03: Uh he sent me a grip for my switch 2 controllers that he 3D printed.
- 1:43:51SPEAKER_02: Oh well, let's have a look.
- 1:43:52SPEAKER_03: Big shout out to uh Dr.
- 1:43:53SPEAKER_03: Mamson.
- 1:43:55SPEAKER_02: It's this one here.
- 1:43:57SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, that that's a good one actually.
- 1:43:59SPEAKER_02: Yes, cool.
- 1:43:59SPEAKER_02: Um very nice.
- 1:44:00SPEAKER_02: Do you want to tell people like where you got the the file where the files called?
- 1:44:03SPEAKER_03: Well, I don't know, mate.
- 1:44:04SPEAKER_03: He sent he made it and he sent it to me.
- 1:44:06SPEAKER_03: Thank you to Dr.
- 1:44:06SPEAKER_03: Mamson for sending that to me.
- 1:44:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, go on.
- 1:44:08SPEAKER_03: What's your get what's your fucking item?
- 1:44:09SPEAKER_02: Uh Dr.
- 1:44:10SPEAKER_02: Mamson.
- 1:44:11SPEAKER_03: Um that's the item, is it?
- 1:44:13SPEAKER_02: Let us know the file and stuff.
- 1:44:15SPEAKER_03: Let us know the file.
- 1:44:16SPEAKER_02: Thanks for sending that uh to Harrison.
- 1:44:19SPEAKER_02: Uh right, um, yeah, so I wanted to like talk about our sort of expansion into YouTube.
- 1:44:25SPEAKER_02: I wanted to have like a discussion because you and I are are here.
- 1:44:28SPEAKER_02: I wanted to talk about Project Zomboid, um, sort of ideas for that, really, to be honest.
- 1:44:33SPEAKER_03: I really wanted to it strikes me as being a bit more of an off-fair sort of discussion, but we're we're like behind the scenes.
- 1:44:38SPEAKER_02: No, because I wanted to involve like um the listeners.
- 1:44:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like because I I didn't know whether because I wanted to do like an episodic thing where we like try out certain things, like if we do like an episode like an episodic thing where we do like our one where we're in a world like with dinosaurs, for example, that's just an example of quests or whatever.
- 1:44:57SPEAKER_02: But um then like would we like have a day where we have like a world open to like the like a lucky and world world where we could like all the listeners could join in.
- 1:45:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like let like let the Discord know, like when we have like a higher player count or whatever, you know, like we could have like I mean not like a high player count, but we could have as like about 32 players join it or whatever.
- 1:45:20SPEAKER_03: That would be cool, yeah.
- 1:45:21SPEAKER_03: Uh what I think would be cool also is what if we did a YouTube series where we played Project Zomboid?
- 1:45:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but every episode, so we play say 30 minutes to an hour, yeah, but every episode a listener gets to add a new mod in.
- 1:45:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:45:34SPEAKER_03: And they choose the mod.
- 1:45:35SPEAKER_02: That'd be good, that'd be good.
- 1:45:36SPEAKER_02: Like one like because that's what I was thinking, like stuff like that.
- 1:45:39SPEAKER_02: I mean, we could do like a series on that, that'd be great.
- 1:45:41SPEAKER_03: Because the thing is that what you would have is like us, like the first episode, we're trying to survive normally, but somebody's picked like the RuneScape mod we're in we're in Galilean or whatever, and then the next like we're doing we're doing alright, we're doing good, but then the next episode somebody's picked the dinosaur mod.
- 1:45:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, then the next episode somebody's picked some unbelievably convoluted mod that we now try and try need to try and understand to be able to cook food, you know what I mean?
- 1:46:04SPEAKER_03: Like the challenge would come from the game world constantly evolving.
- 1:46:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean that would be good.
- 1:46:09SPEAKER_02: Should we like we could do that as the first one, maybe?
- 1:46:12SPEAKER_03: I think we do that as the first one.
- 1:46:13SPEAKER_03: I am interested in getting a server set up for us all to play on.
- 1:46:15SPEAKER_03: That's a fucking great idea.
- 1:46:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:46:18SPEAKER_03: Um, yes, it's not strictly an item, but I do like it, and it's a fucking great idea.
- 1:46:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, I thought because like we're getting the users involved, like the the like the listeners involved that like you know.
- 1:46:29SPEAKER_03: Tell you what we'll do then.
- 1:46:30SPEAKER_03: We'll do the we'll do the mod idea first, because I think that would actually be really funny.
- 1:46:33SPEAKER_02: I think so.
- 1:46:34SPEAKER_03: And we could record that fairly easily.
- 1:46:36SPEAKER_03: We do that, and then I will put a um a vote thing.
- 1:46:41SPEAKER_03: I've I've put a new vote channel for for picking mods.
- 1:46:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:46:44SPEAKER_03: And people can add their own categories in there, and then people can vote whether or not what mod they want in there to try and torture us.
- 1:46:51SPEAKER_02: We add one each time.
- 1:46:53SPEAKER_03: One each time.
- 1:46:54SPEAKER_03: So every session a new mod is added, and it's gonna get fucking stupid by the end of it.
- 1:46:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that'd be great, yeah.
- 1:46:59SPEAKER_03: Right, it's a good idea.
- 1:47:00SPEAKER_03: It's a really good idea, and quite funny.
- 1:47:02SPEAKER_03: But um like, can I shoot you, please?
- 1:47:06SPEAKER_03: No, that's okay.
- 1:47:07SPEAKER_03: Alright, let's go on to the uh let's go on to the mail then, I guess.
- 1:47:11SPEAKER_03: Um, here we go.
- 1:47:19unknown: Here we go.
- 1:47:26SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:47:27SPEAKER_03: I asked.
- 1:47:28SPEAKER_03: Now this is this mail section is gonna be fucking weird.
- 1:47:31SPEAKER_03: I'm just gonna level with you.
- 1:47:32SPEAKER_02: Because it's a fairy related then.
- 1:47:35SPEAKER_03: Why why having a guy at them again?
- 1:47:37SPEAKER_03: Well, I just fairies.
- 1:47:40SPEAKER_02: Last time I had it sort of awkward.
- 1:47:42SPEAKER_03: They're goodish, they're goodish people.
- 1:47:43SPEAKER_03: Um no, I asked everyone what is the worst thing you've ever said or done while raging during an online multiplayer game, right?
- 1:47:50SPEAKER_03: Now, there is one very, very unhinged answer, and we may have to ban this person from Discord, from the Discord.
- 1:47:57SPEAKER_03: But I've saved that one for last.
- 1:47:59SPEAKER_03: Alright, then in addition to that, and this just shows how um But maybe they've moved.
- 1:48:03SPEAKER_03: Well, you can't say you can't say the R word to mean a mentally disabled person anymore, but I think some of the listeners might be that.
- 1:48:10SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, I mean you're not allowed to say it, but in a roundabout way I am because a lot of them answered just just answer different questions that they just made up in their own heads.
- 1:48:20SPEAKER_03: So we've got a most of them aren't about multiplayer games, is all I'm saying.
- 1:48:25SPEAKER_03: Okay, they're just about raging.
- 1:48:26SPEAKER_03: So so let's get into it.
- 1:48:28SPEAKER_03: Radio Silence, he gives the first answer.
- 1:48:30SPEAKER_03: He said I would have said the N-word as a child, but they were Russian.
- 1:48:33SPEAKER_03: He's a CS player, he's the one we mentioned earlier.
- 1:48:35SPEAKER_03: And Counter-Strike, yeah.
- 1:48:36SPEAKER_03: I mean, did you know they re recently released there was a website that allows you to track somebody's entire chat history on Counter-Strike?
- 1:48:45SPEAKER_03: Like you could put in somebody's username, it's a third-party thing, and you can see their most used words, you can see everything they've ever said in a game.
- 1:48:53SPEAKER_03: And uh, my friend, I won't say his name because it's a little bit embarrassing, but he said uh he his most used words were will bark for feet picks.
- 1:49:02SPEAKER_03: We found that out.
- 1:49:03SPEAKER_03: Um that's so that's good.
- 1:49:05SPEAKER_03: But then their same website did sort of uh uh they demonstrated all the words that we used the most across the entire game.
- 1:49:13SPEAKER_03: Have a guess, what were they?
- 1:49:14SPEAKER_03: Uh the N-word, N-word, the R word earlier that we didn't say.
- 1:49:18SPEAKER_03: Uh the name of a delicious English meatball that begins with an F that is a slur for gay people.
- 1:49:23SPEAKER_03: Um, just it was all of that.
- 1:49:25SPEAKER_03: All of that.
- 1:49:25SPEAKER_03: I mean, Counter-Strike players are the worst, and I don't mean to have a go at Russians, because Russian people are probably nice.
- 1:49:30SPEAKER_03: Russian counter-strike players probably the most racist homophobic people on the planet.
- 1:49:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:49:36SPEAKER_02: Still creates that culture, though.
- 1:49:38SPEAKER_03: I think the game is just very annoying.
- 1:49:40SPEAKER_03: And it makes you want to say the N-word, you know what I mean?
- 1:49:43SPEAKER_02: It's a very toxic game.
- 1:49:45SPEAKER_03: It really is.
- 1:49:46SPEAKER_03: Um and I don't mind toxic communities, to be honest.
- 1:49:49SPEAKER_03: That's what they were all like in the 90s and 2000s.
- 1:49:52SPEAKER_03: But CS just happens to be the one where it's more about calling someone a fag than it is actually playing the game.
- 1:49:58SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 1:49:59SPEAKER_02: In the 90s and 2000s.
- 1:50:00SPEAKER_02: Everyone sort of still respected each other while calling each other that the worst shit, yeah.
- 1:50:05SPEAKER_03: But in the 90s and 2000s, right?
- 1:50:07SPEAKER_03: Everyone was there was a belief, and I'm not saying I agree with this to any of our listeners, um, but there was the belief that stuff said on the internet is half or a quarter as offensive as said in real life, right?
- 1:50:18SPEAKER_03: I mean, which is why Counter-Strike players always say the N-word and the F slur, because it it it there was a belief that if you said it online, it didn't matter as much.
- 1:50:26SPEAKER_03: Because you don't know that person, it doesn't matter, you're just saying a word because it's offensive.
- 1:50:30SPEAKER_03: That's it.
- 1:50:31SPEAKER_02: Everyone understood it to be trash talking back then.
- 1:50:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:50:34SPEAKER_03: Nowadays, trash talking is a bit more friendly, but back then it was literally just But if people try if people say that stuff these days, they'd lower out to hurt you now.
- 1:50:45SPEAKER_03: They really are.
- 1:50:45SPEAKER_03: They there is actual hate happening as opposed to just saying words because they're offensive.
- 1:50:50SPEAKER_03: Like, I mean, the the funny thing is like I remember there was always a meme with Counter Strike where it's like when players are bad, and the meme was I I've called them a flag, I don't know what else to do.
- 1:51:00SPEAKER_03: And it's like you could get better at the game, you know.
- 1:51:03SPEAKER_03: But it is bad, it is bad.
- 1:51:05SPEAKER_03: And uh sorry for saying those words just then, but that yeah, so he says he said the n-word as a child.
- 1:51:10SPEAKER_03: Mamson uh he comes in, he says, and I'm sorry I'm gonna pronounce this really badly, he is Icelandic, and he said the thing he would frequently say on game is uh Hervitis Fehlingarfti.
- 1:51:22SPEAKER_03: Basically means uh you've been a half-wit from birth, and he says it's very powerful.
- 1:51:26SPEAKER_02: Is it?
- 1:51:27SPEAKER_03: I think that's quite tame, to be honest.
- 1:51:29SPEAKER_02: In terms of the shit that I've seen online and heard, it's like people calling someone a felonious cad or something like that.
- 1:51:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, it's a little bit like that, isn't it?
- 1:51:37SPEAKER_03: It's a clever insult, but I don't think it is that powerful.
- 1:51:40SPEAKER_03: So I go back to the days when headsets were first introduced into online gaming, because when 360 first came out, or the or the Xbox, right, you couldn't type anymore, and that was the way that everyone communicated before.
- 1:51:52SPEAKER_03: So the headset got introduced as being a main thing, and it was racism left, right, and centre, wasn't it?
- 1:51:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was that like it was much more powerful than calling someone a half-wit from birth.
- 1:52:01SPEAKER_03: I mean, it was like you would go on there.
- 1:52:03SPEAKER_03: I remember once I I went into a Halo 2 game, like you know, when you join one that's in progress, and I heard people just having a conversation, and uh the first thing I heard upon entering the Halo 2 game was somebody saying black people have a racial commitment to crime.
- 1:52:18SPEAKER_03: And I was like, what the fuck is this?
- 1:52:20SPEAKER_03: Like that type of shit.
- 1:52:21SPEAKER_03: Because nowadays what most people do is just not wear the headset because they don't want to engage with people, but back then it was just like, yeah, just full on racism.
- 1:52:28SPEAKER_03: People wore it all the time, people chatted constantly, and everyone was a cunt.
- 1:52:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they were, yeah.
- 1:52:33SPEAKER_03: And then he's out here going, you felonious cut.
- 1:52:37SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, not that powerful, but kill defences.
- 1:52:40SPEAKER_03: He comes in, he says, not online multiplayer, but I threw one of my dad's work boots at my stepbrother's head because he wouldn't stop being annoying after a Street Fighter 2 win.
- 1:52:50SPEAKER_03: It had more to do with the being annoying than him winning, though.
- 1:52:53SPEAKER_03: I don't really ever get mad while gaming, just annoyed.
- 1:52:56SPEAKER_02: Sounds like he's trying to explain away a lot, you know.
- 1:52:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, look, you you assaulted a person.
- 1:53:02SPEAKER_03: Okay?
- 1:53:03SPEAKER_03: But we are asking people for the worst things they've ever done, right?
- 1:53:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that is quite bad.
- 1:53:07SPEAKER_03: In a moment of rage.
- 1:53:08SPEAKER_02: He said work boots, so I'm guessing those are still toe cap boots as well.
- 1:53:12SPEAKER_02: That is quite bad.
- 1:53:13SPEAKER_03: You he could have killed a man.
- 1:53:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:53:15SPEAKER_02: It sounds like he's remorseful at least.
- 1:53:17SPEAKER_03: But you know when somebody's gloating over you and they're and they're a prick about it.
- 1:53:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's it.
- 1:53:21SPEAKER_03: Come on, that is fucking annoying.
- 1:53:22SPEAKER_03: That is annoying.
- 1:53:23SPEAKER_03: I don't blame him for throwing the work boots.
- 1:53:25SPEAKER_02: I do like the spirit of competition, a little bit like you know, that there's a lot of things.
- 1:53:28SPEAKER_02: I do too, but when it's friendly.
- 1:53:30SPEAKER_03: When it's friendly, like the Street Fighter 6 uh offline tournament community are terrible for that shit where they're just cunts to each other.
- 1:53:39SPEAKER_03: There's so much elitism, there's so much people like like thinking they're the bees' fucking knees, and like there's no respect in that community, not in the same way that there is in Street Fighter 3.
- 1:53:49SPEAKER_03: Like, you might um trash talk somebody, but you keep it light and you keep it about the game.
- 1:53:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:53:55SPEAKER_03: Whereas in Street Fighter 6, it's literally it's the most clicky, horrible environment ever.
- 1:53:59SPEAKER_03: I fucking hate it.
- 1:54:00SPEAKER_03: Um, Ghost.
- 1:54:02SPEAKER_03: Uh they say I doubt this counts as mine isn't even a video game.
- 1:54:05SPEAKER_03: So you see what I mean?
- 1:54:06SPEAKER_03: They've just taken a moment from their life and just where they want to talk about it, but that's fine.
- 1:54:09SPEAKER_03: It's a safe space here, isn't it?
- 1:54:11SPEAKER_03: We don't call anyone the N-word here.
- 1:54:13SPEAKER_03: We rarely call anyone the N-word.
- 1:54:15SPEAKER_02: There's I mean, we did ask for like yeah, and then they failed, but that's fine.
- 1:54:19SPEAKER_02: It might be gaming adjacent though.
- 1:54:21SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, it actually is, yeah, yeah.
- 1:54:23SPEAKER_03: Um so they say I doubt this counts as mine isn't even a video game, but when we uh when we were super young, me and my little sister were playing Mousetrap, a board game.
- 1:54:31SPEAKER_03: Thank you for that.
- 1:54:32SPEAKER_02: And she was who actually played the board game though?
- 1:54:35SPEAKER_03: I don't know, I've never met anyone that has, but anyway.
- 1:54:38SPEAKER_03: And um she was cheating, so I got annoyed and threw the spinner at her.
- 1:54:41SPEAKER_03: And then she threw the orange plastic hippo from the board at me.
- 1:54:44SPEAKER_03: I ducked, and it went straight through our family room TV.
- 1:54:48SPEAKER_03: Best part is I got blamed for the broken TV because I ducked and didn't sacrifice myself for the TV.
- 1:54:52SPEAKER_02: That was a big moment, you know, when you break like one of your parents' expensive things.
- 1:54:57SPEAKER_03: The absolute dread.
- 1:54:59SPEAKER_03: The absolute dread that goes through you.
- 1:55:00SPEAKER_03: I mean, look, think about it, right?
- 1:55:02SPEAKER_03: Uh from from her parents' from their parents' point of view, right?
- 1:55:06SPEAKER_03: You're looking at this and you're going, the the parents going, Your sister's thrown something at you.
- 1:55:11SPEAKER_03: Why didn't you take the lump now that the the the TV's been destroyed?
- 1:55:16SPEAKER_02: What are the parents annoyed at like her not getting hit uh like uh hit then?
- 1:55:20SPEAKER_03: They were annoyed at ghosts for not getting hit by it because by dodging it, they in a roundabout way broke the TV, even though it was their sister that really did it.
- 1:55:29SPEAKER_03: It's natural reaction.
- 1:55:30SPEAKER_03: If they'd have got hit by the hippo, it wouldn't have destroyed the TV, right?
- 1:55:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:55:34SPEAKER_03: So if anything, but I was thinking it's very yeah, I'd be mad at the sister, but think about this.
- 1:55:42SPEAKER_03: What would Batman do?
- 1:55:43SPEAKER_03: Hmm?
- 1:55:44SPEAKER_03: He's the ultimate justice guy, right?
- 1:55:46SPEAKER_03: Probably like just absolutely go to town on the sister.
- 1:55:49SPEAKER_03: He would take the hit, then he would batter her, not kill her, but batter her within an inch of her life.
- 1:55:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:55:55SPEAKER_03: So maybe, ghost, you should have done that.
- 1:55:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, man.
- 1:55:57SPEAKER_03: Your parents would have been so proud.
- 1:55:59SPEAKER_03: But yeah, I remember one time when when we were kids and we broke our mum's uh very expensive crystal uh dish thing.
- 1:56:05SPEAKER_03: Do you remember that?
- 1:56:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I do.
- 1:56:07SPEAKER_03: It was a weird physical.
- 1:56:08SPEAKER_03: You were about to laugh, but then you remembered she listens to this show, weren't you?
- 1:56:12SPEAKER_02: No, no, I wasn't like laughing, it was just like that was a weird in real life physics glitch.
- 1:56:16SPEAKER_02: It's just funny because like that was the first thing I thought of when Oh, yeah, that was bad, yeah.
- 1:56:21SPEAKER_02: No, it's just like weird that you thought of that, and I that was the first thing I thought of when I heard this story.
- 1:56:26SPEAKER_03: Because I thought she was gonna come home and actually fucking kill me, that's why.
- 1:56:30SPEAKER_03: But the the thing is, what happened was it was like a physics glitch that happened in real life.
- 1:56:34SPEAKER_03: We had this quite wide table, and it was right in the middle of it, right?
- 1:56:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Sean body slammed me onto the floor, my head hit the side of the fucking table.
- 1:56:41SPEAKER_03: For some reason, it bounced upwards and then fell onto the carpet and still smashed.
- 1:56:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, what fucking sense does that make?
- 1:56:48SPEAKER_02: It wasn't that far, it shouldn't have smashed.
- 1:56:51SPEAKER_03: It went up about an inch.
- 1:56:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it shouldn't have smashed.
- 1:56:53SPEAKER_02: It was really weird.
- 1:56:55SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, I just remember that dread, and then years later I bought her a replacement, but it was just made of glass.
- 1:57:00SPEAKER_03: It cost me like a tenner.
- 1:57:02SPEAKER_03: She just doesn't have it anymore, obviously.
- 1:57:04SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 1:57:06SPEAKER_03: Sorry, mum.
- 1:57:07SPEAKER_03: Um fucking northerner.
- 1:57:09SPEAKER_03: He says, Don't have a gaming story, see another one.
- 1:57:12SPEAKER_03: Don't have a game.
- 1:57:13SPEAKER_03: Do you do you even care anymore, listen?
- 1:57:15SPEAKER_03: Like, well, we'll let next time we'll just open up, let them speak about.
- 1:57:18SPEAKER_03: Is there something you want to speak about?
- 1:57:20SPEAKER_03: Let us know.
- 1:57:20SPEAKER_03: It's a board game.
- 1:57:22SPEAKER_03: There's another board game.
- 1:57:23SPEAKER_03: It's probably not even to do with gaming, right?
- 1:57:25SPEAKER_03: He says, but the stupidest thing I've ever done online was spend hours looking at memes on the internet until I laughed so hard that I pissed my pants.
- 1:57:31SPEAKER_02: Who hasn't?
- 1:57:32SPEAKER_03: As in fully emptied their bladder into a pair of jeans.
- 1:57:34SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 1:57:35SPEAKER_03: So it's not even to do a game in this.
- 1:57:36SPEAKER_02: I mean figurative.
- 1:57:37SPEAKER_03: Who who the who the Well, you thought he meant pissed himself laughing.
- 1:57:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:57:42SPEAKER_03: Right, but he put he literally pissed himself.
- 1:57:43SPEAKER_03: He was 13.
- 1:57:45SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:57:46SPEAKER_02: Could you not be bothered to get up to go to the toilet then?
- 1:57:49SPEAKER_03: How good must these memes have been?
- 1:57:51SPEAKER_03: Like, I've never seen a meme that good that kept me engrossed.
- 1:57:54SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna be honest with you, fucking northerner, but um send some of the memes, because uh if they're that fucking good, I want to see them.
- 1:58:00SPEAKER_03: Well, how old is he now?
- 1:58:02SPEAKER_03: 13, I think.
- 1:58:03SPEAKER_02: No, he can't.
- 1:58:04SPEAKER_03: This was yesterday.
- 1:58:05SPEAKER_03: No, I don't know, mate.
- 1:58:06SPEAKER_02: Um, like, well, I just want to know how good like we could sort of tell how good the memes are.
- 1:58:12SPEAKER_03: From the era that they came from.
- 1:58:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:58:13SPEAKER_03: So do you think memes were better when we were kids?
- 1:58:15SPEAKER_03: Is that what you were trying to say?
- 1:58:17SPEAKER_02: I mean, what was the number some years of what?
- 1:58:19SPEAKER_03: What was the number one meme when we were teenagers?
- 1:58:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, I don't think memes were like some memes are really good.
- 1:58:25SPEAKER_03: All I'm saying is I think memes were I I think memes were worse when we were kids because the number one meme when we were teenagers was goatseat.
- 1:58:31SPEAKER_03: Do not Google it if you've never seen it, but that was the meme, wasn't it?
- 1:58:34SPEAKER_03: Um that's an outrageous thing to just be sending to people, isn't it?
- 1:58:38SPEAKER_02: Uh and the meat spin.
- 1:58:40SPEAKER_02: We had Star Wars guy as well.
- 1:58:41SPEAKER_03: Lemon party.
- 1:58:42SPEAKER_03: Star Wars guy was actually pretty funny.
- 1:58:44SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:58:45SPEAKER_03: But actually not, though, because that guy was bullied and it was uploaded to his uh to the internet without his consent.
- 1:58:50SPEAKER_02: Uh German, angry German kid.
- 1:58:52SPEAKER_02: Scheißer!
- 1:58:53SPEAKER_03: Yes, these memes were shit when we were kids.
- 1:58:56SPEAKER_03: So he m he must have access to some sort of underground memes that we we did not know existed because they weren't funny.
- 1:59:03SPEAKER_03: Seeing a picture of a man gaping, that we're not gonna say what it is, goat.
- 1:59:07SPEAKER_02: A lot of like meme videos, I mean, I don't know, like um, you know, I mean, like why you'll give and stuff like that, like you know.
- 1:59:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, those are good, but they're later in life.
- 1:59:16SPEAKER_02: I suppose, but we had some of that when we did have Goatsy and we did love it.
- 1:59:20SPEAKER_02: We had Grape Lady and stuff like that, and what's Grave Lady?
- 1:59:23SPEAKER_03: Grape Lady.
- 1:59:24SPEAKER_03: What's great?
- 1:59:24SPEAKER_03: Oh Yeah, that one just makes me sad.
- 1:59:27SPEAKER_03: I've never seen one this way.
- 1:59:28SPEAKER_03: Look, fucking order, you have to send us, you have to send us the memes, okay?
- 1:59:33SPEAKER_03: Because we want to see.
- 1:59:34SPEAKER_03: We'll do it as a challenge on the next one.
- 1:59:35SPEAKER_03: We'll see if we we can go for a piss or if they really do keep us that engaged.
- 1:59:40SPEAKER_03: I'll tell you what though, I pissed myself once playing Infiltration.
- 1:59:44SPEAKER_02: We were because you're scared.
- 1:59:46SPEAKER_03: There was a military shooter mod for Animal Tournament, and I and I was playing it, right?
- 1:59:51SPEAKER_03: And I was so into because you know only about 30 people in the world played it.
- 1:59:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:59:55SPEAKER_03: And I got into a game with everyone that played it, and I was like, I'll be waiting for hours to play it, and I was so into it, I needed to slash.
- 2:00:02SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 2:00:02SPEAKER_03: And then and then I did not want to get up from the computer.
- 2:00:05SPEAKER_03: And I remember at one point I died in a round and tried to run to the bathroom and I pissed myself.
- 2:00:09SPEAKER_03: And I was probably about 15, so it's pretty bad.
- 2:00:12SPEAKER_03: Um, Sean, what's uh no, actually, we'll get into that in a second.
- 2:00:15SPEAKER_03: Now I did mention that we got one really unhinged one, and we might have to ban this person because I think they actually might be a bad person, all right?
- 2:00:22SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 2:00:23SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna do this one now.
- 2:00:24SPEAKER_03: I'll prepare myself.
- 2:00:25SPEAKER_03: This is the main event.
- 2:00:25SPEAKER_02: It's a game in at least.
- 2:00:27SPEAKER_03: Yes, nice.
- 2:00:28SPEAKER_03: He so he's managed that, right?
- 2:00:30SPEAKER_03: So we'll give him that.
- 2:00:31SPEAKER_03: That will that's like a point in his favour for not banning him from Discord, right?
- 2:00:36SPEAKER_02: I don't mind if it's like pop culture and stuff, to be honest.
- 2:00:38SPEAKER_02: But you can't.
- 2:00:38SPEAKER_03: No, no, to be honest, everyone except this guy's that we're about to read, great responses.
- 2:00:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:00:44SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 2:00:45SPEAKER_03: But Ace.
- 2:00:46SPEAKER_03: No, we'll keep him on fuck it, I'm saying his name.
- 2:00:48SPEAKER_03: Ace.
- 2:00:48SPEAKER_03: He says back in the PS, yeah.
- 2:00:51SPEAKER_03: This comes from him.
- 2:00:52SPEAKER_03: We might have to ban him.
- 2:00:53SPEAKER_02: Now we don't I mean, it was a bit unhinged before, to be fair.
- 2:00:57SPEAKER_03: He's always been a bit unhinged.
- 2:00:58unknown: Yeah.
- 2:00:59SPEAKER_03: Oh, Ace, if you're listening, um you're on the chopping block, son.
- 2:01:03SPEAKER_03: He says, back in the PS1 days, I launched a controller through a window.
- 2:01:07SPEAKER_03: I was ten.
- 2:01:08SPEAKER_03: It wasn't my PS1, it wasn't my house.
- 2:01:10SPEAKER_03: They phoned my parents and told my parents it wasn't me, it was the kid who lived there.
- 2:01:14SPEAKER_03: It was me.
- 2:01:15SPEAKER_03: Right now, that's not the bad one, but he does demonstrate already that he was at somebody else's house and didn't have the fucking respect to respect their property and launched a controller through a window.
- 2:01:25SPEAKER_02: Even if I was ten, I wouldn't do that.
- 2:01:27SPEAKER_03: Nor would I.
- 2:01:27SPEAKER_03: We were raised to be polite, so uh Ace it's looking bad for you, mate.
- 2:01:32SPEAKER_03: Um he the but the real story is this.
- 2:01:34SPEAKER_03: Oh god, it's a long one, so strap in.
- 2:01:36SPEAKER_03: He says, one time as a younger adult, like maybe 19 or 20, I was playing Left for Dead on expert mode, and I was so close to getting an achievement for not dying the whole campaign, and this guy called John purposely headshot me with a shotgun.
- 2:01:49SPEAKER_03: I heard him laughing as I was dying.
- 2:01:52SPEAKER_03: We lived in uni accommodation halls of residence.
- 2:01:55SPEAKER_03: I went over to his dorm room.
- 2:01:57SPEAKER_03: Now, this part is very interesting because he says a five-minute sprint across campus.
- 2:02:02SPEAKER_03: So he was full-on sprinting to this guy's house where he lived.
- 2:02:06SPEAKER_02: I've got to say, I would be angry.
- 2:02:08SPEAKER_03: I would be angry.
- 2:02:09SPEAKER_03: I would be angry.
- 2:02:10SPEAKER_03: But I I have never sprinted for five minutes solidly for anything.
- 2:02:13SPEAKER_02: Like, imagine a ganglin sprinting across campus.
- 2:02:18SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna get you.
- 2:02:19SPEAKER_03: Like sprinting across campus, right?
- 2:02:22SPEAKER_03: So and started raging on his door, kicking the shit out of it, punching it, calling him a pedo.
- 2:02:29SPEAKER_03: He opened the door.
- 2:02:32SPEAKER_03: He opened the door on the chain and I kicked it to try to break the chain, but I couldn't.
- 2:02:40SPEAKER_03: I left after about five solid minutes of beating on his door.
- 2:02:44SPEAKER_03: So he sprinted full on.
- 2:02:46SPEAKER_03: He's that angry, he sprinted for five minutes, raged on his door, called him a nonce.
- 2:02:50SPEAKER_02: Surely, surely the sprint was like, You fucking pedophile! We're not quite as angry if he sprinted.
- 2:02:56SPEAKER_03: I think I think after the first minute, I'd be like, no, this isn't worth it.
- 2:02:59SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 2:03:00SPEAKER_03: The fact that it lasted that long is insane.
- 2:03:03SPEAKER_03: Like and he said, I still don't have that fucking achievement.
- 2:03:07SPEAKER_03: Turns out John was a pedo, like actually for real.
- 2:03:10SPEAKER_03: Nice, he found a pedo.
- 2:03:12SPEAKER_03: Right, so this right, we'll discuss it in a minute.
- 2:03:14SPEAKER_03: Nice, he found a pedo.
- 2:03:15SPEAKER_03: Achieve that's the real achievement.
- 2:03:17SPEAKER_03: Did he report him then?
- 2:03:18SPEAKER_03: Well, he said, I don't know if he ever got arrested, but his computers got taken off him by campus security like four weeks before the end of term.
- 2:03:25SPEAKER_02: Brilliant.
- 2:03:25SPEAKER_03: I was still pretty much the villain in this story, but at least I was a villain towards he a villain if he like uncovered a pedoh.
- 2:03:31SPEAKER_03: Just wait, he said, but he says at least I was a villain towards friendly fire headshot nonce.
- 2:03:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:03:37SPEAKER_03: Now he asked me to specifically say friendly fire headshot nonce because that guy became the guy's um nickname in university.
- 2:03:44SPEAKER_03: And if he's listening, he'll know it's about him.
- 2:03:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:03:47SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 2:03:48SPEAKER_03: He did uncover a pedo.
- 2:03:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:03:50SPEAKER_03: But it sounds to me like he was calling him a paedophile without any good knowledge, like he was just saying it, right?
- 2:03:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he just called him that.
- 2:03:59SPEAKER_03: Like a stopped clock happens to be twice right.
- 2:04:02SPEAKER_03: A stopped clock happens to be right twice a day, right?
- 2:04:05SPEAKER_03: He was gonna beat on that guy's door and call him a pedo no matter what.
- 2:04:08SPEAKER_03: He just happens to be a paedophile.
- 2:04:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I wouldn't actually just go around calling people paedophiles, isn't it?
- 2:04:13SPEAKER_02: Like that, to be honest.
- 2:04:14SPEAKER_03: Like, what if you were really angry though?
- 2:04:18SPEAKER_03: Nah.
- 2:04:19SPEAKER_03: Um it's so like like okay, the guy that he was doing it to was a bad guy.
- 2:04:24SPEAKER_03: Obviously, he's a nonce.
- 2:04:26SPEAKER_03: But then that is a deeply unhinged thing to do, isn't it?
- 2:04:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it is to sprint for five minutes, to rage on a guy's door and call him a nonce for five minutes, tried to break he literally tried to break in.
- 2:04:36SPEAKER_03: What was he gonna do if he'd gained entry?
- 2:04:38SPEAKER_03: That's what I'm worried about.
- 2:04:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean thank God for that fucking chain, because I reckon Ace was gonna beat the shit out of him.
- 2:04:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he would have.
- 2:04:44SPEAKER_02: I mean, and also like imagine if he had to pay for the door repair and stuff.
- 2:04:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like he tried wholeheartedly to gain entry to this guy's flat without his permission.
- 2:04:55SPEAKER_02: It might be a different man now, but like from like 10 to 20, um, it seems like he didn't really change at all.
- 2:05:04SPEAKER_02: So maybe he has changed now.
- 2:05:07SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, university and that.
- 2:05:10SPEAKER_03: Is he but I mean Well look I don't want to get into personal details about him.
- 2:05:15SPEAKER_03: No, I'm just but the thing is you might you're saying like we should ban him, like this is pretty bad, isn't it?
- 2:05:20SPEAKER_03: Do we want people like this on the Discord?
- 2:05:22SPEAKER_03: Like, no fact like Ace, if you're listening, sorry, but we have to discuss this.
- 2:05:26SPEAKER_03: And it was a good it was a it was an entertaining email, uh Discord message, but that's unhinged.
- 2:05:31SPEAKER_02: But he said it's the worst thing he's done, so at least he recognises that is the worst, yeah.
- 2:05:36SPEAKER_03: He does recognise it.
- 2:05:37SPEAKER_03: Should we give him one more chance?
- 2:05:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we'll give him a chance.
- 2:05:39SPEAKER_03: We'll give him a right, Ace.
- 2:05:42SPEAKER_03: Respond to this.
- 2:05:43SPEAKER_03: Uh, just tell us about one other bad thing you've done, and we'll try and judge like recent like what's the what's the thing you've done recently that you feel ashamed of?
- 2:05:52SPEAKER_03: And we'll judge it based on that.
- 2:05:53SPEAKER_03: How about that?
- 2:05:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we'll do.
- 2:05:54SPEAKER_03: I mean, this is getting awkwardly personal, but like you have to admit that is a fucking uh deranged thing to do.
- 2:06:00SPEAKER_02: That's very extremely, yeah.
- 2:06:02SPEAKER_02: Because you know what?
- 2:06:02SPEAKER_02: I'd be pissed off.
- 2:06:03SPEAKER_02: I would as well, but I'd probably just have a bit of a go at him.
- 2:06:07SPEAKER_03: I'd be like, I'd text him and say, I'm really fucking pissed off, not playing that with you again.
- 2:06:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's what I'd do, to be fair.
- 2:06:13SPEAKER_02: Think about it.
- 2:06:14SPEAKER_03: Um Sean, what's the worst thing you've ever done while raging in a game?
- 2:06:18SPEAKER_03: Actually, I've got one for you.
- 2:06:20SPEAKER_03: It's not even that bad, but I came home from work once.
- 2:06:23SPEAKER_03: I used to work a two and a half hour train journey away, so I had five hours of trains uh and eight hours of work a day, and it was horrible.
- 2:06:30SPEAKER_03: And I came back once all groggy, and I was like, I want to go in my room and play some fucking World of Warcraft.
- 2:06:34SPEAKER_03: And I went in and I short saw Sean playing Left for Dead, and um he was on the headset and he was saying in a posh accent for some reason, Shut your mouth, shut your filthy mouth.
- 2:06:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:06:45SPEAKER_02: That was just like low-level training.
- 2:06:46SPEAKER_03: And I literally just closed the door and was like, I can't deal with this right now.
- 2:06:49SPEAKER_03: I need to go do something else.
- 2:06:50SPEAKER_03: Then I sprinted to Sean's house for five.
- 2:06:53SPEAKER_03: No, anyway, worst thing you've ever done in an online game.
- 2:06:56SPEAKER_02: Um just play badly, I guess.
- 2:06:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but like as a result of raging.
- 2:07:02SPEAKER_03: Don't really rage.
- 2:07:03SPEAKER_03: No, you don't really, do you?
- 2:07:05SPEAKER_03: You've got quite a good, like, because you can go like I get frustrated.
- 2:07:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you do, but you can go like um like 30 foot oh like losses on Guilty Gear against me and still have a nice time, and that's like your special power.
- 2:07:18SPEAKER_03: That's never happened, but well, it has.
- 2:07:20SPEAKER_03: It happens very frequently, like so you know, but I mean Sean could lose 50 games in a row on Street Fighter 6 against me and still um but yeah, anyway, uh I remember one that I've done, and this is bad, right?
- 2:07:34SPEAKER_03: For a little while I got into Starcraft 2.
- 2:07:36SPEAKER_03: It's not ace bad, but it's bad.
- 2:07:38SPEAKER_03: I got into Starcraft 2, right?
- 2:07:40SPEAKER_03: And um playing it competitively, and on the competitive mode, if you disconnect from a game early, the penalty is like really bad.
- 2:07:48SPEAKER_03: It's like you can't play for a solid 72 hours and you have to have the game client open for that to tick down.
- 2:07:53SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 2:07:54SPEAKER_03: And um there was a skeezer that that was on the opposing side, right?
- 2:07:58SPEAKER_03: And he did there's a thing called worker cheese.
- 2:08:01SPEAKER_03: And the worker cheese is like a cheese strategy where you instantly, if you know you have to make a guess at where the enemy's base is, right?
- 2:08:08SPEAKER_03: And if you get it right, it can pop off.
- 2:08:10SPEAKER_03: You send all of your workers over there to do their shitty little tacks and just kill the enemy workers, right?
- 2:08:16SPEAKER_03: You have to guess right because you have to do it before they build any units with any actual firepower.
- 2:08:21SPEAKER_03: But if you guess right, you send all the workers over there, destroy their workers, they can't build anything, they can't get any resources, they have to surrender, right?
- 2:08:29SPEAKER_03: Guy did the work of cheese on me, right?
- 2:08:31SPEAKER_03: But one little worker manages to manage to get out of my base and I just hid it somewhere on the map, and I uh uh evaded him for two hours, wasting his time because he annoyed me.
- 2:08:41SPEAKER_03: Jesus.
- 2:08:42SPEAKER_03: Um he was he was yeah, but I was like, I hate the cheese strategies.
- 2:08:46SPEAKER_03: Anyway, I'm not gonna justify it, it was just a bad thing to do.
- 2:08:49SPEAKER_02: That's sort of like that's sort of where like games stretch out online as the worst.
- 2:08:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I know people in league that have done it as well where they'll just they they get to your nexus and they will just let you spawn over and over again and kill you and just not let the game end.
- 2:09:02SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 2:09:03SPEAKER_03: Like that's sort of what I did, but I just I was just going around, yes, yeah.
- 2:09:06SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry, alright?
- 2:09:07SPEAKER_03: If that guy is.
- 2:09:09SPEAKER_03: No, no, not like you, but like, you know, just to generally but um anyway, it was just funny because um yeah, I was waiting for him for so long and he was he was begging me.
- 2:09:19SPEAKER_03: He was actually in the chat going, please, please just come here so I can kill you.
- 2:09:23SPEAKER_03: And I was like, no, bro, this is my strategy, I'm gonna win, and stuff like this.
- 2:09:26SPEAKER_03: Terrible, terrible of me.
- 2:09:28SPEAKER_03: But yeah, it was a it can't have been two hours because there must be a cat for probably 45 minutes, something like that.
- 2:09:33SPEAKER_02: Probably, yeah.
- 2:09:33SPEAKER_03: It's pretty bad.
- 2:09:34SPEAKER_03: But I was just like, right, I'm quite patient, he's annoyed me.
- 2:09:37SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna fucking I'm gonna waste his time.
- 2:09:40SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, anyway.
- 2:09:41SPEAKER_03: So you but you don't really have one, do you?
- 2:09:43SPEAKER_02: Not like a rage story.
- 2:09:45SPEAKER_03: No.
- 2:09:46SPEAKER_03: Have you got just a story about something else that you want to tell?
- 2:09:48SPEAKER_03: Like the listeners.
- 2:09:49SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, I mean, uh, I've got it like a rage story.
- 2:09:53SPEAKER_02: So um, like I uh we both like uh had a friend who had like rage issues and stuff.
- 2:10:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Jeeves, yeah, we spoke about him before.
- 2:10:02SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, so um like he wanted to get good at guitar hero and stuff.
- 2:10:07SPEAKER_03: We've spoken about this one.
- 2:10:09SPEAKER_03: Oh you came back to his house and he put it in the bin?
- 2:10:11SPEAKER_02: Well, the guitars were smashed and in the bin, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:10:14SPEAKER_03: We spoke about that on like episode three.
- 2:10:16SPEAKER_03: Oh, um Well we'll move on then.
- 2:10:18SPEAKER_03: We got we got a regular question from fucking Northern, and he says, What game series do you think got the farthest along in terms of number of games without becoming terrible and derivative?
- 2:10:26SPEAKER_03: Because like games they they we've spoken about this before, they gradually decline, don't they?
- 2:10:30SPEAKER_03: They don't just suddenly Well, some of them do, but they they don't just suddenly become shit.
- 2:10:35SPEAKER_03: Like Halo, for example, had three, well like five really fucking good games, and Halo 4 and Infinite, from what I understand, were good, but just not as good as the old ones.
- 2:10:45SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 2:10:45SPEAKER_03: They got stale, they got derivative.
- 2:10:47SPEAKER_03: What's the longest game series that has gone without becoming that?
- 2:10:52SPEAKER_03: It's a tough one.
- 2:10:54SPEAKER_03: But I'm I was thinking Super Mario to be honest.
- 2:10:56SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, Super Mario.
- 2:10:58SPEAKER_03: Because the thing is it's had a couple of shit entries, but by and large, it's been pretty fucking good.
- 2:11:02SPEAKER_03: And the last one in the series was excellent with Odyssey.
- 2:11:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was a long time.
- 2:11:06SPEAKER_03: It does have some games that are lazy and uh and and terrible and derivative, like the new Super Mario Brothers games are kind of boring, but then the mainline entries.
- 2:11:14SPEAKER_02: A couple of them are good, though.
- 2:11:16SPEAKER_03: New Super Mario Bros.
- 2:11:17SPEAKER_03: U is fucking excellent.
- 2:11:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the Wii one was good as well, to be honest.
- 2:11:20SPEAKER_03: But um, yeah, like it's just had it's just had such a fucking good run.
- 2:11:23SPEAKER_03: Um Zelda's the same.
- 2:11:24SPEAKER_03: That's the trouble.
- 2:11:25SPEAKER_03: Like the the Nintendo ones often are very like but Metroid's become kind of shit, so's Kirby, so is Yoshi, but Mario and Zelda have always remained really fucking good, haven't they?
- 2:11:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they have, yeah.
- 2:11:35SPEAKER_03: Like had uh one or two like shit entries here and there, but the series as a whole has not become shit, you know what I mean?
- 2:11:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:11:43SPEAKER_03: Um But I I think it's harder to find like outside of that, are there are there any?
- 2:11:49SPEAKER_02: Um Dragon Quest, to be fair.
- 2:11:51SPEAKER_02: I mean that's that's gonna get shit.
- 2:11:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, my my uh opinion is is that it's about to happen with Dragon Quest 12.
- 2:11:58SPEAKER_03: Like those games have uh Um I mean they've lasted so long.
- 2:12:02SPEAKER_03: They and they've always done they've done everything perfectly.
- 2:12:05SPEAKER_03: They just they they they don't do anything new but they do everything right, you know what I mean?
- 2:12:09SPEAKER_03: Even the film was good to me.
- 2:12:11SPEAKER_03: Excellent film.
- 2:12:12SPEAKER_03: And and and now we got twelve coming out and all of the original staff are not on it, and they're going for a darker story, which is not what anyone ever went in from Dragon Quest.
- 2:12:20SPEAKER_03: They're always light and fun and entertaining.
- 2:12:23SPEAKER_02: Um, dark elements could be that's because everything's so light and fun, and then when you take that away, it feels you know, you get that sort of nice feel of I guess they do, and the film was had some some quite harrowing parts.
- 2:12:36SPEAKER_03: But it's yeah, it's like you say it's juxtaposed against the jolly nature of the games, isn't it?
- 2:12:40SPEAKER_03: And you do have moments that are tear jerkers and stuff like this.
- 2:12:43SPEAKER_03: But yeah, I'm I'm struggling to think of a series that has continued, say, from the NES days to now, right?
- 2:12:50SPEAKER_03: Or the Snares to Now or Arcades Wells.
- 2:12:52SPEAKER_02: I suppose you could have said Street Fighter, but it has become shit.
- 2:12:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it has now, yeah.
- 2:12:56SPEAKER_02: Because I mean look at five was bad as well.
- 2:13:00SPEAKER_03: Five was bad, six is even worse, right?
- 2:13:02SPEAKER_03: And it's like they think of try to think of a series that has continued that long that hasn't become stale.
- 2:13:07SPEAKER_03: I can't really think of one aside from Mario and Zelda, like I don't know.
- 2:13:12SPEAKER_03: It's a it's a real, real shame, but that's the unfortunate thing.
- 2:13:15SPEAKER_03: Like this is why unfortunately investors they will never invest in uh or they rarely invest in new IPs, right?
- 2:13:23SPEAKER_03: The the actually I've got a good answer.
- 2:13:25SPEAKER_03: But the the we need more new IPs so that we can have fresh ideas and not see everything we love get run into the ground.
- 2:13:32SPEAKER_03: Definitely.
- 2:13:32SPEAKER_03: But I feel like one good example is Resident Evil.
- 2:13:35SPEAKER_03: Resident Evil, they do they run it into the ground frequently, then they realise that it's terrible and they re-rework the entire series.
- 2:13:42SPEAKER_02: That's their strategy though, innit?
- 2:13:44SPEAKER_03: It's like they do three games, they do that, and then they And once they're once the ideas those games presented have become boring and derivative, they move on to something completely new.
- 2:13:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like uh you had one, two, three, three was the worst one.
- 2:13:56SPEAKER_03: You had four, five, six, six was terrible, seven, eight, and nine, then nine is like apparently really good, but the conclusion and the more action-y version of that, which is what they always do.
- 2:14:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, um, good question, fucking ordiner.
- 2:14:09SPEAKER_03: And he says, if the questions don't have to be game related, thoughts on Israel, Palestine.
- 2:14:13SPEAKER_02: Do they but why did he say the questions don't have to be wrong Oh, because I mentioned it in the school.
- 2:14:19SPEAKER_03: I was like, just ask us what the fuck ever.
- 2:14:21SPEAKER_02: So why does he keep asking that question?
- 2:14:22SPEAKER_02: Like most same people have the same thoughts, don't they?
- 2:14:25SPEAKER_02: Surely, yeah.
- 2:14:26SPEAKER_03: I mean those Israel guys, they've got a lot of pressure under them on themselves, and we really need to be a bit kinder to them.
- 2:14:31SPEAKER_02: Why does Palm Beach Peak keep going over there?
- 2:14:33SPEAKER_02: That is weird.
- 2:14:34SPEAKER_02: That's what I want to know.
- 2:14:35SPEAKER_03: I've been to Palestine, I play I can't do a good impression of him, but he plays tennis there.
- 2:14:38SPEAKER_03: He loves it.
- 2:14:40SPEAKER_03: Um the other day, listen, so I've got to keep quiet.
- 2:14:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, um, did you know that um there's there's the Muslim holiday?
- 2:14:46SPEAKER_03: I forget what it's called, but it's for the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, right?
- 2:14:49SPEAKER_03: They celebrate it.
- 2:14:51SPEAKER_03: The Muslim Muslim people in this area are walking down the street with the big flags and shit, celebrating it.
- 2:14:55SPEAKER_03: They were giving out food to people.
- 2:14:57SPEAKER_03: It was really, really nice, right?
- 2:14:58SPEAKER_03: Millie looked outside, assumed because of all the racial tension that's going on in this country, that it was some sort of like, hey, we're normal people type protest, you know what I mean?
- 2:15:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and yelled a free Palestine out of the window.
- 2:15:09SPEAKER_03: It was one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen.
- 2:15:13SPEAKER_03: I was like, Millie, it's it's the fucking it's Mohammed's birthday, mate.
- 2:15:16SPEAKER_03: They're having a good time.
- 2:15:19SPEAKER_03: Um, but that's what we think.
- 2:15:20SPEAKER_03: Right, let's do an outro.
- 2:15:22SPEAKER_02: You say in those circumstances.
- 2:15:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, I think you've got uh I'm on back off, I'm on live telling me! Fuck off help it! I want the fucking hell! Fuck off your little twat.
- 2:15:36SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 2:15:36SPEAKER_03: Uh right, the contact info.
- 2:15:38SPEAKER_03: If you want to email us luckyin'worldpodcast at gmail.com, we've got the Patreon as well.
- 2:15:42SPEAKER_03: Donate to that because you are listening.
- 2:15:44SPEAKER_03: This is free, okay?
- 2:15:46SPEAKER_03: I actually reckon it I actually reckon that if you'd have got shot, somebody would have donated.
- 2:15:52SPEAKER_03: Um that's the type of content they want, a bit of danger.
- 2:15:56SPEAKER_02: Well, I think like um sort of non-violent approach.
- 2:15:59SPEAKER_02: Um What's the non-violent approach to shooting somebody?
- 2:16:02SPEAKER_03: What should I have what should the punishment have been?
- 2:16:04SPEAKER_02: Because it's like m you know, like Martin Luther King Jr., he's sort of a remembered guy, you know.
- 2:16:09SPEAKER_03: Um and he's and he's never shot anyone with an ass off rifle over like a video game quiz.
- 2:16:12SPEAKER_03: He took the non violence.
- 2:16:13SPEAKER_03: That's true.
- 2:16:14SPEAKER_02: He took the non-violent approach.
- 2:16:15SPEAKER_02: People liked him, people donated, you know.
- 2:16:18SPEAKER_02: That could be us.
- 2:16:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but we're not we're not standing up for anything.
- 2:16:24SPEAKER_03: I all I am standing up for is my right to shoot you.
- 2:16:27SPEAKER_03: We're brothers.
- 2:16:27SPEAKER_02: I should be able to shoot you if I want.
- 2:16:29SPEAKER_02: I'm so I'm sort of against like sort of like like big like gaming companies, uh, the Illuminati.
- 2:16:36SPEAKER_02: Right, I like where this is going.
- 2:16:37SPEAKER_03: Um like you know I'm against I'm a big I'm against big corporations, the Illuminati, and getting shot with airsoft.
- 2:16:44SPEAKER_03: Is that what you're saying?
- 2:16:45SPEAKER_03: Right, okay, I see.
- 2:16:46SPEAKER_03: Those are the three main things you stand for.
- 2:16:48SPEAKER_02: Uh well in this podcast, yeah, you know.
- 2:16:50SPEAKER_03: Right, right.
- 2:16:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:16:53SPEAKER_02: Right, so next time I'm so glad to put that out of the way.
- 2:16:54SPEAKER_02: So next time jailbreaking stuff.
- 2:16:57SPEAKER_03: Quiet.
- 2:16:57SPEAKER_03: Silence.
- 2:16:58SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 2:16:58SPEAKER_03: Yes, okay, fair enough.
- 2:16:59SPEAKER_03: Whatever.
- 2:17:00SPEAKER_03: But the point is the next time I'll devise a different punishment that isn't hurt you being hurt.
- 2:17:05SPEAKER_03: Us being uh to be fair, I did put my own life on the line with that and said you could shoot me if you got one right.
- 2:17:10SPEAKER_03: That's fair enough, isn't it?
- 2:17:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I've got three right, yeah.
- 2:17:13SPEAKER_03: Because we we have had a history with all of the the quote unquote media we've ever made, we've had a history of doing things that involve punishments because we think it's funny, right?
- 2:17:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's funny.
- 2:17:22SPEAKER_03: And our mum, whenever she listens, she doesn't like them because she thinks it's cruel, right?
- 2:17:26SPEAKER_03: I think it's cruel too, but it is funny.
- 2:17:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean.
- 2:17:29SPEAKER_03: Like, do you remember that time when we had a show down on what fighting game was it on our YouTube channel?
- 2:17:35SPEAKER_03: Our old one.
- 2:17:35SPEAKER_02: Oh, um Nitro Plus Blasters.
- 2:17:38SPEAKER_03: No, that was the one where I lost.
- 2:17:39SPEAKER_03: I'm talking about the one where I won.
- 2:17:40SPEAKER_03: What was the fucking game?
- 2:17:41SPEAKER_03: It was that Data East fighting game.
- 2:17:43SPEAKER_02: Uh it was um Fighter's History, the second one.
- 2:17:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:17:46SPEAKER_03: And um I I won and we had this sort of like gauntlet set up for Sean of like, or whoever lost had to eat like uh uh just five bad things in a row.
- 2:17:54SPEAKER_03: And wasn't it like a scoop of dried coffee, bite into an onion, uh, drink some vinegar, and then eat a chili or something.
- 2:18:01SPEAKER_03: It was fucking horrible.
- 2:18:03SPEAKER_03: And I remember seeing you seeing you do that on the stream, and then my mum texted us, text me and was like, you know, I don't like it when you make Sean do that shit.
- 2:18:10SPEAKER_03: Um I didn't make him, he made himself by losing the fight.
- 2:18:14SPEAKER_03: That's the issue.
- 2:18:14SPEAKER_03: But if you grew up with it, yeah, yeah, it was a it was a joint idea.
- 2:18:18SPEAKER_02: Like buying into the onion like an apple.
- 2:18:21SPEAKER_03: That was horrible.
- 2:18:22SPEAKER_03: I think it was worse for the people watching you do it as well.
- 2:18:25SPEAKER_02: I thought the funniest though is um when you lost and you had to eat the garlic paste sandwich and you're just gagging the whole time.
- 2:18:33SPEAKER_03: That was one of the most because you know what it was.
- 2:18:35SPEAKER_03: Sean had a jar of garlic paste, and he just ladled it on like an inch thick onto this white bread, and the bread just went so soggy, it went so soggy because it was covered in garlic paste, and it was like in my mouth it was disintegrating, and it was like it was fucked, it was so horrible.
- 2:18:51SPEAKER_03: I remember one of the punishments that we came up with that we filmed but never posted on YouTube.
- 2:18:56SPEAKER_03: Do you remember the one?
- 2:18:57SPEAKER_03: Like Sean lost a fighting game and he had to surf down a massive staircase in the middle of town on a cardboard box screaming.
- 2:19:06SPEAKER_03: See, that that's the type of thing that now prank YouTube channels do and is not funny.
- 2:19:10SPEAKER_03: But I think when we did it, it was funny.
- 2:19:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, the trouble is what happened was Sean started at the top, and this is things we used to do.
- 2:19:17SPEAKER_03: This as a child all the time was sit in a box and go down some stairs, but we were adults at the time.
- 2:19:21SPEAKER_03: And Sean got about five stairs in, the box disintegrated, and then he just started rolling down the stairs.
- 2:19:26SPEAKER_02: Maybe um like we need to sort of bring that back, sort of like uh love.
- 2:19:31SPEAKER_02: I don't know, but yeah, we've got a Project Zomboid series as well.
- 2:19:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, maybe we could have punis it we could have punishments for every time a character of yours dies.
- 2:19:38SPEAKER_03: You have to do something really either embarrassing or horrible.
- 2:19:42SPEAKER_02: What in Project Zomboid, uh?
- 2:19:44SPEAKER_03: Uh no, in real life.
- 2:19:46SPEAKER_03: Oh no, I mean like um Oh yes, if your character dies in Project Zomboid, you get the punishment, so something real is on the line.
- 2:19:52SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 2:19:53SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, we'll do that as like uh if we do that as part of like one of the series, that'll be good.
- 2:19:58SPEAKER_03: We'll do it as the main series, I think.
- 2:19:59SPEAKER_03: Um Well like with the modding one.
- 2:20:01SPEAKER_03: Hang on a minute, we're in the outro here.
- 2:20:02SPEAKER_03: We should be talking this right, we'll save that for later.
- 2:20:04SPEAKER_03: But the modding one, that's a definite.
- 2:20:06SPEAKER_03: We're doing that one, yes.
- 2:20:07SPEAKER_03: But also we'll add in the punishments.
- 2:20:08SPEAKER_03: Right, um Sean, it's time for the sound test where we're gonna pick a song to play us out of the podcast and it's your turn.
- 2:20:29SPEAKER_02: It's my turn.
- 2:20:31SPEAKER_02: Why do you sound puzzled about that?
- 2:20:34SPEAKER_02: Because I'm disagreeing with you on that one.
- 2:20:37SPEAKER_02: I thought it was you.
- 2:20:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so when you agree with somebody, you do an upwards inflection at the end, do you?
- 2:20:41SPEAKER_03: It's my turn.
- 2:20:42SPEAKER_03: It's my turn.
- 2:20:44SPEAKER_02: It is my turn.
- 2:20:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, go on, and what have you got?
- 2:20:46SPEAKER_03: Say it instantly because you've obviously got a song.
- 2:20:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I have.
- 2:20:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, go on.
- 2:20:50SPEAKER_02: Um Super Brother from GSet Radio.
- 2:20:54SPEAKER_03: Right, why are you speaking so quietly, first of all, right?
- 2:20:57SPEAKER_03: And um Super Brother, is that a licensed track?
- 2:21:01SPEAKER_02: I mean it's a so made for the game, isn't it?
- 2:21:03SPEAKER_02: That's why I thought of it.
- 2:21:05SPEAKER_03: Um right, we've thought of it.
- 2:21:06SPEAKER_03: When when did you think when did you think of it?
- 2:21:08SPEAKER_03: Just out of interest?
- 2:21:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, I like the song, it's a lot of fun.
- 2:21:10SPEAKER_03: No, no, but when did when when when did you think of it?
- 2:21:14SPEAKER_03: Just a couple of minutes ago.
- 2:21:16SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 2:21:18SPEAKER_03: But you know, part of this is we always share like an interesting story about the fucking thing, or like a cool fact about it.
- 2:21:24SPEAKER_03: Well, give me a cool fact then.
- 2:21:26SPEAKER_03: Well, I just like self-shaded graphics.
- 2:21:28SPEAKER_03: This is a licensed track, I'm looking at it now.
- 2:21:30SPEAKER_03: Oh, sorry.
- 2:21:30SPEAKER_03: Super Brothers is a song by Japanese indie rock band Guitar Vader.
- 2:21:34SPEAKER_03: The song appears in Jet Set Radio and serves as the main theme of poison jam.
- 2:21:37SPEAKER_03: Sean, we can't even use that one.
- 2:21:39SPEAKER_03: So, right, come up with another one.
- 2:21:41SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 2:21:41SPEAKER_03: And you better say something interesting.
- 2:21:43SPEAKER_03: Well, how'd you forget again?
- 2:21:45SPEAKER_03: No, I didn't forget, I just thought.
- 2:21:47SPEAKER_03: I just didn't do it, because I'm lazy.
- 2:21:50SPEAKER_03: Do you think you should have a punishment?
- 2:21:51SPEAKER_03: Can I shoot you for this?
- 2:21:53SPEAKER_02: I'm definitely 100% not lazy, but also I thought it was like- Can I shoot you for this?
- 2:21:57SPEAKER_02: I thought it was your turn.
- 2:21:59SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure how you could say it's like m I'm lazy, but you know.
- 2:22:03SPEAKER_02: I forgot.
- 2:22:03SPEAKER_02: You're so lazy.
- 2:22:04SPEAKER_02: I'm aloof, like a bit forgetful, but yeah, you're eccentric.
- 2:22:09SPEAKER_03: But you you but that was two times in a row where it's been your turn and you've forgotten.
- 2:22:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that that suck.
- 2:22:14SPEAKER_02: Right, time does move pretty quickly.
- 2:22:17SPEAKER_02: Um well um after Well, here we're here we are.
- 2:22:25SPEAKER_03: Um we just pick a fucking song.
- 2:22:27SPEAKER_03: Just pick one that you like then, and we'll just go with that.
- 2:22:29SPEAKER_03: Pick one that's like, but this is I'll I'll be honest with you, this is pathetic.
- 2:22:32SPEAKER_03: Because do you remember last time I came up with that very interesting fact about key gen music?
- 2:22:36SPEAKER_03: That was interesting, wasn't it?
- 2:22:37SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, I will say, because we were talking about the Street Fighter movie, um, that the the girl's theme in the Street Fighter movie was pretty good.
- 2:22:46SPEAKER_02: We should probably play that.
- 2:22:47SPEAKER_02: Should we go for that then?
- 2:22:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:22:49SPEAKER_03: Right, and also I've got an interesting fact about it.
- 2:22:51SPEAKER_03: I'll say the interesting fact, even though you should be saying it, there was an old internet meme from 20 years ago, Girl's theme goes with everything.
- 2:22:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's one of my favourites.
- 2:23:00SPEAKER_02: That could be that's a meme I could sit down for.
- 2:23:03SPEAKER_02: That's a meme I could.
- 2:23:04SPEAKER_03: But would you piss yourself?
- 2:23:04SPEAKER_03: It's not that good.
- 2:23:05SPEAKER_03: Almost.
- 2:23:06SPEAKER_03: But I have watched those videos like a lot.
- 2:23:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:23:08SPEAKER_03: There was a there was an old um uh I don't know, it's it's a weird sort of meme, but it is also true that Giles theme from Street Fighter 2 goes with anything.
- 2:23:18SPEAKER_03: You can put it over it, like I've seen it over a car chase from the film Enemy of the Estate.
- 2:23:22SPEAKER_02: I've seen it uh if you're ever getting on a bus, put it on in your earphones.
- 2:23:27SPEAKER_03: And then I've I've also seen it with uh Uncle Phil playing Paul in uh uh in Fresh Prince of Bel Air like Scooby Doo as well.
- 2:23:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:23:35SPEAKER_03: Just Google Giles thing goes with everything ev with everything on YouTube.
- 2:23:40SPEAKER_03: Google it on YouTube.
- 2:23:41SPEAKER_02: The Lion King one is the best.
- 2:23:43SPEAKER_03: That's hype as fuck, yeah.
- 2:23:45SPEAKER_03: Um so that's it, that's the fact.
- 2:23:47SPEAKER_03: It does go with everything, and it there happens to be, although the music by and large was shit in that film.
- 2:23:52SPEAKER_03: This is a good version of it.
- 2:23:53SPEAKER_03: It's a good Girls theme.
- 2:23:54SPEAKER_03: It was, yeah.
- 2:23:55SPEAKER_03: Alright, well, you've redeemed yourself a little bit there, but I am gonna have to shoot you for that one.
