- 0:00Speaker 1: Because fuck you That's why is a founding member of
- 0:02Speaker 1: the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to episode two thirty seven of bfytw
- 0:43Speaker 2: in a Row.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Yeah in a row.
- 0:46Speaker 2: We haven't missed. We haven't missed a week I believe
- 0:49Speaker 2: since we started a single. So yeah in a row.
- 0:54Speaker 4: This is unfortunately, by necessity, going to be a bit
- 0:57Speaker 4: of a chill show. Uh, we've had one recently, but
- 1:02Speaker 4: unfortunately I have been sick. You may hear it in
- 1:04Speaker 4: my voice, and I apologize if that is the case.
- 1:08Speaker 4: But that doesn't mean it's not going to be a
- 1:11Speaker 4: cool show because we got very, very lucky to despite
- 1:15Speaker 4: having just a chill show, we have two of our
- 1:18Speaker 4: favorite guests on.
- 1:19Speaker 2: It's Russ and Lauren.
- 1:20Speaker 5: Hi, guys, Hello, Yeah, and you guys have been through
- 1:28Speaker 5: well something of an ordeal.
- 1:31Speaker 4: I understand it, like the scorpions. I believe you've been
- 1:36Speaker 4: rocked like a hurricane.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Yeah, we were rocked like adjacent to.
- 1:39Speaker 6: A hurricane, like the edge of a hurricane.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Well rock you like the edge of a hurricane doesn't
- 1:45Speaker 4: have quite the same ring.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Which is why they didn't right, that'shy But yeah, and
- 1:52Speaker 3: I was actually telling you guys this offline before we started,
- 1:55Speaker 3: and before we go into this, I really want to say, like,
- 1:57Speaker 3: and I mean this sincerely, Lauren and I have been
- 2:00Speaker 3: through some stuff, but we are very aware that people
- 2:04Speaker 3: north of us have gone through way, way, way worse,
- 2:07Speaker 3: and even on the west side as well, over clear
- 2:09Speaker 3: water and everything.
- 2:10Speaker 4: And so I've seen the massive destruction and I am
- 2:14Speaker 4: immensely grateful that you have dodged the worst of it.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and as are we. It's just it's the things
- 2:21Speaker 3: we're dealing with are suck. But it I think as
- 2:26Speaker 3: the story unfolds, you'll find more than it's like it's
- 2:30Speaker 3: we we got more hit more by a storm of
- 2:33Speaker 3: human indecency than nature. You know, people just not being
- 2:40Speaker 3: good people.
- 2:41Speaker 7: Oh my god, is that gonna be the title of
- 2:43Speaker 7: this episode?
- 2:48Speaker 3: I get clicked.
- 2:49Speaker 2: That's fantastic.
- 2:51Speaker 3: In short, the edge of the storm came through our
- 2:54Speaker 3: area late Thursday night, and our yard has a lot
- 3:00Speaker 3: of big oak trees in it, and one of the
- 3:04Speaker 3: oak trees on the side of our house fell. Now,
- 3:07Speaker 3: the first thing that could have gone way wrong for
- 3:09Speaker 3: anybody is it could have fallen on our house, and
- 3:11Speaker 3: it did not. It went the other way. It fell
- 3:14Speaker 3: on our neighbor's yard, which or on our neighbor's house,
- 3:17Speaker 3: which is bad. But this is the first lighthearted part
- 3:21Speaker 3: of the story. So our neighbor about two months ago
- 3:27Speaker 3: built an addition on the back of his house that
- 3:29Speaker 3: with our weather down here, we are fortunate, fortunate to
- 3:32Speaker 3: be able to be outdoors all year long, like we
- 3:34Speaker 3: have outdoor concerts down here in like January February. So
- 3:39Speaker 3: so he built a thing on the back of his
- 3:41Speaker 3: house to entertain folks outside. And I mean this in
- 3:46Speaker 3: a nice way because he doesn't bother us at all.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Twenty four hours a day. I will leave for the
- 3:49Speaker 3: gym at six o'clock in the morning and they are
- 3:52Speaker 3: absolutely out there, still partying.
- 3:54Speaker 7: Yeah, let the dogs out in the middle of the night,
- 3:56Speaker 7: like three three thirty, and I was like.
- 3:57Speaker 6: Oh, look at it, they're going.
- 4:00Speaker 3: He has come over to us since he built that
- 4:02Speaker 3: and been like, am I bother And y'all were like nope,
- 4:04Speaker 3: Like we don't hear it at all. You know, live
- 4:06Speaker 3: and let live, y'all party have fun, you know, And
- 4:08Speaker 3: he always is like, if you ever want to stop buying,
- 4:10Speaker 3: we're like okay. You know. Anytime he said that he
- 4:14Speaker 3: and his girlfriend were sitting. I don't know why they
- 4:16Speaker 3: were sitting outside during the hurricane, but they were, and
- 4:20Speaker 3: they were sitting underneath this thing that he just built,
- 4:22Speaker 3: which if anything was going to fall, it would be that,
- 4:25Speaker 3: and if anything was going to cause it to fall,
- 4:26Speaker 3: it would be a giant oak tree. But it didn't fall,
- 4:30Speaker 3: like when we went out there and looked at I
- 4:32Speaker 3: was out there at like seven o'clock the next morning
- 4:34Speaker 3: and the tree is like openly laying on this thing
- 4:36Speaker 3: on the back of his house, and from afar, I'm
- 4:38Speaker 3: kind of looking at it like holy crap, like how yeah,
- 4:41Speaker 3: like how did that not fall? And I'm thinking, well,
- 4:43Speaker 3: good thing they weren't out there for once, because I
- 4:45Speaker 3: didn't know at the time that they were out there.
- 4:47Speaker 3: So I go over and I knock on the neighbor's
- 4:49Speaker 3: door and he comes to the door and he's all
- 4:51Speaker 3: too excited to take me out to the thing. He's like, dude,
- 4:53Speaker 3: you got to see this. I'm like, all right, because
- 4:57Speaker 3: like the guy who our tree just fell on his house.
- 4:59Speaker 3: He's like, dude, you got to see this. So we go.
- 5:03Speaker 3: He takes me all through his house. We go out
- 5:05Speaker 3: the back and he shows me that he and his
- 5:07Speaker 3: girlfriend were sitting in this thing when the tree fell
- 5:11Speaker 3: on it, and the thing that stopped it from crushing
- 5:14Speaker 3: them to death was a newly installed stripper pole.
- 5:18Speaker 8: Oh boy, oh my god, that's funnycing the ceiling.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Yes, so, And it's funny that you say that about
- 5:37Speaker 3: the saves lives because I told him, when all of
- 5:39Speaker 3: this is over, I'm getting sheets from like tea public.
- 5:42Speaker 3: I'm gonna get shirts made that say stripper poles Saved
- 5:44Speaker 3: Lives and the date of the hurricane and like him
- 5:47Speaker 3: and I are going to take pick because they I'm
- 5:49Speaker 3: not like, obviously, this is not funny as joke about.
- 5:51Speaker 3: They absolutely would have been crushed like it would hit,
- 5:54Speaker 3: that tree would have come, he said when it hit.
- 5:56Speaker 3: When it hit, he said that both of them were
- 5:58Speaker 3: like silent for like ten minutes, and then his girlfriend goes,
- 6:02Speaker 3: are we dead? They weren't like because you know, you
- 6:06Speaker 3: might imagine it, but literally the thing that stopped them
- 6:10Speaker 3: from being crushed was his He had just put it
- 6:14Speaker 3: in like tuesday.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that is incredible. It's fantastic.
- 6:21Speaker 3: The stripper poles. What saved them from being crushed.
- 6:26Speaker 9: From what I've learned from the story is we all
- 6:27Speaker 9: need to get stripper poles into our homes.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Yes, that that's gonna be the lesson anyone.
- 6:34Speaker 10: Yeah, anyone asks to just tell him it's a load
- 6:37Speaker 10: bearing stripper.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you're gonna go to a home deepert the Bible,
- 6:44Speaker 3: and you're gonna want to ask for a load bear.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Based on the I tend to enjoy. Yeah, it definitely
- 6:50Speaker 2: would be.
- 6:53Speaker 3: So Okay. So I'm saying that, and I don't know
- 6:57Speaker 3: anything about anything. But I've never been through a hurricane
- 6:59Speaker 3: where a tree, certainly from my property to someone else's.
- 7:02Speaker 3: I don't know anything. So my immediate thought, well, first
- 7:05Speaker 3: of all, everyone's safe, right, Like the tree could have
- 7:08Speaker 3: fallen on us, It could have fallen on one of
- 7:09Speaker 3: the dogs. They could have fallen on one of their pets.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Like every the best case scenario, this thing falls, the
- 7:14Speaker 3: super hole saves them, no pets involved, Like you know,
- 7:17Speaker 3: this is the best case. So it's sunny, like, now
- 7:20Speaker 3: is the time to go, Okay, how do we take
- 7:22Speaker 3: care of this? Right?
- 7:23Speaker 4: Right?
- 7:23Speaker 3: So I was like, well, I guess, I said, I'm
- 7:24Speaker 3: going to talk to Lauren. We'll call our homeowners. I
- 7:26Speaker 3: don't know what we do. And my neighbor has lived
- 7:28Speaker 3: in Jacksonville for twenty years, so he knows the law
- 7:30Speaker 3: like way better than us, and he was like, oh,
- 7:32Speaker 3: you don't have to do anything. He's like, that's it's
- 7:34Speaker 3: on our property, like you gotta, like, we have to
- 7:37Speaker 3: deal with this. And I was like, well, that's not
- 7:39Speaker 3: real because it's my tree, like the tree fell from
- 7:42Speaker 3: my yard. And he's like yeah, but Florida law is
- 7:44Speaker 3: once it's on my property, like we have to deal
- 7:46Speaker 3: with this. And I was like is that real. He's
- 7:47Speaker 3: like yeh, dude, I've been here for twenty years. Trust me,
- 7:49Speaker 3: it's real. And I was like, okay, well that sucks,
- 7:51Speaker 3: but like you know, like again, glad, You're glad, You're okay,
- 7:54Speaker 3: Like we'll, you know, we'll, we'll, uh you know, get
- 7:58Speaker 3: that stripper pole shirt mane didn't you know, Like well yeah,
- 8:04Speaker 3: in the meantime. In the meantime, we thought the biggest
- 8:06Speaker 3: problems we were gonna have to deal with was when
- 8:08Speaker 3: the tree fell. It took the power out for us,
- 8:11Speaker 3: our us, the striper pool house, and the one neighbor
- 8:16Speaker 3: across the street, and Jacksonville's power company had a lot
- 8:20Speaker 3: more to deal with than just these three houses, right,
- 8:23Speaker 3: so our thing was like, okay, it's going to take
- 8:25Speaker 3: forever to get power back. Now. The thing that set
- 8:27Speaker 3: us back further than anyone else was our water line
- 8:30Speaker 3: runs under that big oak tree, and so the roots
- 8:35Speaker 3: of it tore our water line directly out of the ground.
- 8:39Speaker 3: When so our neighbor that the tree fell on our
- 8:42Speaker 3: neighbors across the street, they were without power along with us,
- 8:45Speaker 3: but we were the only ones without water as well.
- 8:47Speaker 3: So so again though we're like, well, you know, what
- 8:51Speaker 3: do we do? We don't even know. At this point,
- 8:53Speaker 3: we thought that the utility company would be coming to
- 8:56Speaker 3: fix the water line as well, right, so ah, geez,
- 9:00Speaker 3: I don't know. Was it a day and a half
- 9:02Speaker 3: into it?
- 9:02Speaker 6: Yeah, well it was Friday. Friday.
- 9:04Speaker 7: We're in the grocery store and I get a call
- 9:07Speaker 7: from the utility company being like, hey, so when that
- 9:12Speaker 7: ripped out, Like yeah, like we had people on the scene,
- 9:15Speaker 7: but they didn't actually shut the water off, so like
- 9:16Speaker 7: it's been running for like fourteen hours.
- 9:20Speaker 6: So we just shut that off and then you're gonna
- 9:22Speaker 6: have to get that fixed.
- 9:23Speaker 7: And once you get that fixed, you know, reach out
- 9:26Speaker 7: to us and we can work on like fixing your
- 9:29Speaker 7: bill from that.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Tell them how many gallons of water ran out of.
- 9:32Speaker 6: Eighteen thousand gallons?
- 9:34Speaker 3: Oh my god, hold on to be clear. Oh it
- 9:37Speaker 3: went directly into the ground. So like, our soil is
- 9:40Speaker 3: gonna be fucking amazing by the way, like a long time.
- 9:45Speaker 3: But here's the thing though, So you notice what Lauren said.
- 9:47Speaker 3: They're like, we had a guy on site who knew
- 9:50Speaker 3: the water line was broke, but they didn't shut the
- 9:52Speaker 3: goddamn water off. Like they came out they were like, yep,
- 9:56Speaker 3: that's water running, and then they left.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 10:01Speaker 3: So you know during that conversation that they were like,
- 10:04Speaker 3: by the way, the.
- 10:05Speaker 6: Way, you need to get somebody there to fix your thing.
- 10:07Speaker 7: And so I called my regular plumber because we've got
- 10:10Speaker 7: you know, like you own a house, you've got service
- 10:13Speaker 7: people that you like, you know, And so I called
- 10:16Speaker 7: my regular plumber and he was like, oh man, he goes,
- 10:19Speaker 7: I can't get anybody out to you until like eight
- 10:21Speaker 7: thirty Monday morning, and this is Friday afternoon at like twuish.
- 10:25Speaker 7: I'm like, well, fuck that, I need water before that.
- 10:28Speaker 6: And so I told him. I was like, all right,
- 10:30Speaker 6: put me on the books for that.
- 10:31Speaker 7: I said, but like, no offense, I'm going to call
- 10:34Speaker 7: around and see if I can get somebody out here sooner, right,
- 10:37Speaker 7: So I called one of the bigger plumbing HVAC companies
- 10:41Speaker 7: around here that advertise your there like twenty four to
- 10:44Speaker 7: seven emergency service whatever, and they were able to get
- 10:47Speaker 7: somebody out Saturday the next day.
- 10:50Speaker 3: The next day, the next day, Yeah, knock it right out.
- 10:52Speaker 6: Yeah, knocked it out, fixed it.
- 10:54Speaker 2: You know.
- 10:54Speaker 6: He was real nice and stuff.
- 10:55Speaker 3: So okay, So where we're at now is I almost
- 10:59Speaker 3: feel like I should play you guys with the pictures
- 11:01Speaker 3: of this to a company you're post on social media.
- 11:04Speaker 3: So where we're at now is now our water line
- 11:06Speaker 3: is fixed. The power is still not fixed, but we
- 11:09Speaker 3: have this. And it's until you see the pictures of it,
- 11:12Speaker 3: it's hard to understand a gigantic tall, like way taller
- 11:16Speaker 3: than me, stump of a oak tree is laying directly
- 11:22Speaker 3: sideways in our yard because it's still out across the
- 11:26Speaker 3: neighbors right being being firmly supported by the striper hole.
- 11:30Speaker 11: So so ain't and by way.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Of a bye by. This will come into play later.
- 11:37Speaker 3: But I started taking a million pictures of everything just
- 11:40Speaker 3: to be like for exactly like this conversation, like you're
- 11:42Speaker 3: not gonna believe how big this thing was, or like
- 11:45Speaker 3: so you can and again this will be important in
- 11:47Speaker 3: a little bit. You can clearly see that this this
- 11:50Speaker 3: tree is directly up and down like if you were
- 11:53Speaker 3: if you were a little kid and you draw a
- 11:54Speaker 3: tree stump with roots and then you turn that piece
- 11:56Speaker 3: of paper sideways. That's literally what it looked like. Okay,
- 11:59Speaker 3: like right, and I have, luckily, I have the pictures
- 12:03Speaker 3: of that. So we didn't even talk to our neighbor.
- 12:07Speaker 3: We know, he's like, we're not going to go over
- 12:08Speaker 3: there and be like, would you get this tree out
- 12:10Speaker 3: of here, you know, because like it fell in his house,
- 12:12Speaker 3: you know. So we like we're all concerned with like,
- 12:14Speaker 3: you know, making sure something doesn't shift and like, oh shit,
- 12:18Speaker 3: this was okay, but now it fell, you know or whatever.
- 12:21Speaker 3: So Sunday we finally got power back.
- 12:26Speaker 6: So we finally got power back Sunday afternoon.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Okay, so Jacksonville Power comes out and they take care
- 12:30Speaker 3: of getting the power back. So then.
- 12:34Speaker 6: We do laundry.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Yeah, we do laundry, which was which was glorious. So anyways,
- 12:41Speaker 3: a couple of days goes by and we're getting ready
- 12:44Speaker 3: to walk out of the house and the tree company
- 12:47Speaker 3: shows up. That was the neighbor got to, which he
- 12:52Speaker 3: has no affiliation with. By the way, Like he's not like, oh,
- 12:54Speaker 3: these are my guys.
- 12:55Speaker 6: Like his mom found them up.
- 12:56Speaker 3: It was just like, hey, if I will avoid using
- 13:01Speaker 3: their name for sure, okay. But they were early in
- 13:04Speaker 3: the alphabet, so when they googled for tree service, it
- 13:06Speaker 3: was one of the first names that came up. Do
- 13:08Speaker 3: you see what I'm saying. Like, there wasn't like, oh,
- 13:09Speaker 3: we know these guys, Like, it was just like, let's
- 13:12Speaker 3: call these people. Yes, yeah, there you go, very very
- 13:18Speaker 3: very close. So they show up and I go out there.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Now at this point, I want to be clear that
- 13:27Speaker 3: at this point in the story, neither of us know
- 13:29Speaker 3: anything about Florida law regarding like work done or who's
- 13:33Speaker 3: liable for what.
- 13:34Speaker 6: We're not law experts.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Now, I should say that's at this point in the story.
- 13:38Speaker 3: By the end of the story, Lauren and I know
- 13:40Speaker 3: everything about So we go out there.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Somebody called the guy from Always Sunny and Philly Bird Law.
- 13:51Speaker 3: So a couple of guys show up on the site
- 13:53Speaker 3: and we go out there together and I say Hey,
- 13:56Speaker 3: our only concern at this point is when you're hitting
- 14:00Speaker 3: this tree out of here, when it gets cut, obviously
- 14:03Speaker 3: it's going to fall back, and our water line is
- 14:06Speaker 3: right there, which we just got repaired. Like, is there
- 14:10Speaker 3: a way for y'all to do this to where like
- 14:13Speaker 3: the water line doesn't break, to which the guy replies,
- 14:17Speaker 3: we're not liable for anything like that and just walks away,
- 14:20Speaker 3: like that's just just walk by the way. I have
- 14:23Speaker 3: since found that's not true, tree law. Lauren and I
- 14:31Speaker 3: go to lunch because there's no point because we both
- 14:33Speaker 3: work from home. So we both go to lunch because
- 14:35Speaker 3: we figure, well, what's the point in sitting here is
- 14:38Speaker 3: peeking on our window watching this whole process. Let's just
- 14:40Speaker 3: go to lunch and then this is the only part
- 14:42Speaker 3: in the story. It's kind of my fault. At lunch,
- 14:45Speaker 3: I said to Lauren, Look, worst case scenario, we get home,
- 14:50Speaker 3: they've dropped that on our waterline. It's broke. I have
- 14:52Speaker 3: the tool to go out to the road and shut
- 14:54Speaker 3: the water off. We'll pay to get it replaced again
- 14:57Speaker 3: or fixed again. You know, there's I think we can
- 15:00Speaker 3: do about that. So we come home from lunch and
- 15:04Speaker 3: then what happened.
- 15:05Speaker 6: Lauren, Well, what they broke our house?
- 15:09Speaker 3: Not the water line, fine, but the water line it
- 15:16Speaker 3: was fine. Yah, they literally broke the fucking house instead of.
- 15:20Speaker 6: What happened was when they cut the tree.
- 15:24Speaker 7: So remember what rest is saying that this tree root
- 15:26Speaker 7: is basically like, you know, vertical, perpendicular, right and massive.
- 15:30Speaker 6: So when they cut the tree free from the root.
- 15:34Speaker 7: Ball, it hit our house and cracked our house.
- 15:39Speaker 3: And if I haven't painted a picture yet of how
- 15:41Speaker 3: big and heavy this was, it went ahead and cracked
- 15:44Speaker 3: the cinder block wall, right.
- 15:49Speaker 6: So I was like, well, they broke our house, you know.
- 15:54Speaker 6: And so I go outside maybeing.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Me, I take after pictures quickly because I have those
- 16:02Speaker 3: before pictures I talk to you about. The tree was
- 16:05Speaker 3: up in our wall. Was what's that thing where you
- 16:07Speaker 3: have a home? Oh not fucking broken? Oh yeah, I
- 16:12Speaker 3: have those pictures. And then I am a picture of
- 16:14Speaker 3: where the tree fell, and it was what's the oh
- 16:17Speaker 3: fucking broken? And because I'm me, I took pictures of
- 16:23Speaker 3: every angle, including three hundred people from this tree service
- 16:27Speaker 3: standing there doing this.
- 16:29Speaker 12: Yeah they were still.
- 16:31Speaker 3: There, yeah, oh yeah, oh my. So I go in
- 16:36Speaker 3: and I call the tree company and I'm like, Hi,
- 16:38Speaker 3: your people are out here doing the job and they
- 16:40Speaker 3: broke our house. And the woman's like, well, that's not good,
- 16:43Speaker 3: Like let me call the owner.
- 16:44Speaker 2: And come back.
- 16:46Speaker 3: I'm like good. So the owner calls my cell phone
- 16:48Speaker 3: and I answered the phone and he goes, hand to God.
- 16:51Speaker 3: This south conversation goes. I go hello, He goes, I
- 16:54Speaker 3: was on site and they didn't do anything to your house.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Like not hello, not hi. This is the owner of
- 16:59Speaker 3: triple A Tree, so there was nothing. He goes. I
- 17:01Speaker 3: go hello, He goes, I was on site and they
- 17:03Speaker 3: didn't do anything in your house. I said, do what now?
- 17:06Speaker 3: And he goes, I was on the site. I was
- 17:08Speaker 3: there when they cut that tree. Nothing hit your house.
- 17:10Speaker 3: I was like, well, I beg to differ because I
- 17:12Speaker 3: have before, literal before and after pictures of when the
- 17:16Speaker 3: tree wasn't cut, when your guys cut it, and now
- 17:20Speaker 3: it's broken our house. And he's like, that's not real.
- 17:22Speaker 3: I was there, I saw that didn't happen, and I'm
- 17:24Speaker 3: coming right back right now. I was like, Okay, when
- 17:26Speaker 3: you get here, you're gonna be like really disappointed to
- 17:28Speaker 3: see that the tree has broken our house. Like and
- 17:30Speaker 3: then your guys did it, you know. So, so we're
- 17:35Speaker 3: waiting for this guy to show up and we look
- 17:37Speaker 3: and one of their crew guys is like over on
- 17:39Speaker 3: our property now, like looking like the true is a
- 17:41Speaker 3: broken wall, you know. So we open the door to
- 17:45Speaker 3: our house, walk out out of the porch, and the
- 17:48Speaker 3: guy who's on our property turns and looks at both
- 17:50Speaker 3: of us and he goes, we're not responsible for that,
- 17:53Speaker 3: like pointing at the tree that they've just broken our house.
- 17:55Speaker 12: With, Yeah, you are right.
- 17:59Speaker 3: So I go, but you are though, like you like,
- 18:02Speaker 3: this tree was upright and then you cut it and
- 18:05Speaker 3: then it fell, and he goes, yeah, that's exactly what happened,
- 18:08Speaker 3: but we're not responsible for that, And he's like yelling
- 18:10Speaker 3: at me, And so I said to Lauren and I said,
- 18:13Speaker 3: I looked at I looked at him, and I looked
- 18:14Speaker 3: at Lauren. I said, just so you're aware, you have
- 18:17Speaker 3: a witness here to you being a complete asshole to
- 18:21Speaker 3: me while you're telling me you're not liable for this,
- 18:23Speaker 3: like of the thing that you did. And I was like,
- 18:26Speaker 3: just so we're clear your company is going to pay
- 18:28Speaker 3: for this. He goes, no, we're not, to which Laura
- 18:32Speaker 3: I go okay, and we turned around and walked into
- 18:34Speaker 3: our house. The next thing that happened was the owner
- 18:41Speaker 3: of the place never showed up. The receptionist called me
- 18:47Speaker 3: back and said, hey, if I give you this email address,
- 18:50Speaker 3: can you email the pictures of everything. I said, fantastic.
- 18:53Speaker 3: I got before and after pictures. Fine, so I emailed
- 18:56Speaker 3: them the board before and after pictures. Then is that
- 18:58Speaker 3: the point where he she called you to tell you
- 19:01Speaker 3: that they were coming out?
- 19:03Speaker 7: Yes, she coughted that she got the pictures. I got
- 19:05Speaker 7: a phone call that says, oh, he'll be out tomorrow.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Yeah, and this would have been Wednesday.
- 19:09Speaker 7: This would have been to Monday, Monday, and they were
- 19:11Speaker 7: coming there was supposed to come Tuesday.
- 19:14Speaker 6: So Tuesday, So Tuesday.
- 19:16Speaker 3: The last we've heard, by the way, is the reception
- 19:18Speaker 3: that's calling Lauren to say which, by the way, the
- 19:20Speaker 3: owner was supposed to be out that day. Never showed up.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Once the pictures perception that calls Lauren and says, owner
- 19:25Speaker 3: is going to be with you on Tuesday.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Yes.
- 19:27Speaker 7: So then Tuesday ten am ish rolls around. I haven't
- 19:31Speaker 7: heard anything yet, so I call. I was like, hey,
- 19:34Speaker 7: you know so and so's supposed he's the owners supposed
- 19:36Speaker 7: to be by, you know, to look at our property today.
- 19:38Speaker 7: They're like, oh, guys, said, they said, give us your information,
- 19:42Speaker 7: and you know, we hear when we hear from him,
- 19:44Speaker 7: we'll have them, you know, give you a call to
- 19:46Speaker 7: set something up.
- 19:46Speaker 6: But I'm like okay.
- 19:49Speaker 7: Then one fifteen Tuesday rolls around, Still haven't heard anything.
- 19:53Speaker 6: So I call again and they're like, yeah, so he's
- 19:55Speaker 6: out on a job over the other side of town,
- 19:58Speaker 6: like an hour away.
- 19:59Speaker 7: He said, he's probably not gonna make it out today,
- 20:02Speaker 7: but give us your information.
- 20:03Speaker 6: We'll set something up for Wednesday. And I said okay.
- 20:05Speaker 7: So the end of the day, Tuesday rolls around and
- 20:08Speaker 7: at this point, like I send an email like back,
- 20:10Speaker 7: I was like just recounting, like okay, so I called
- 20:12Speaker 7: it this time, and I called it this time.
- 20:13Speaker 6: And still nothing and still nothing and still nothing right
- 20:16Speaker 6: and you know, my house is broken.
- 20:18Speaker 7: So then Wednesday, I know they opened at eight so
- 20:20Speaker 7: I called immediately at eight am. I was like, hey,
- 20:24Speaker 7: you know, let's get get something set up. They're like,
- 20:25Speaker 7: all right, give me your information. We know, we'll get
- 20:27Speaker 7: in touch with them and have them, you know, be
- 20:28Speaker 7: in touch with you.
- 20:30Speaker 6: I hear nothing.
- 20:33Speaker 7: And then he and I go to the grocery stores
- 20:34Speaker 7: at eleven ish. Their office manager calls me and they're like, yeah,
- 20:38Speaker 7: so the owner consulted a lawyer and this is an
- 20:40Speaker 7: act of God and not our fault.
- 20:44Speaker 11: My chain saw in that tree.
- 20:48Speaker 7: So yeah, so it's like pretty okay. I'm like I'm
- 20:52Speaker 7: like okay, so then you're done with me, right, and
- 20:54Speaker 7: she goes, yeah, we're pretty much done here.
- 20:56Speaker 6: I'm like okay. So at which point.
- 21:01Speaker 7: Russ goes ahead and does the thing that Russ does
- 21:04Speaker 7: and writes.
- 21:06Speaker 6: A honest Google star, straightforward.
- 21:11Speaker 11: Honest, one star Google review, literally.
- 21:14Speaker 3: The facts as I just presented them to you without
- 21:16Speaker 3: without like the oh and you know, fucking broke our house,
- 21:19Speaker 3: Like it was literally just like here's here's here's exactly
- 21:22Speaker 3: what's happened. So like, you know, like one star review
- 21:26Speaker 3: based on our experience with this company, I could link
- 21:29Speaker 3: yell to it, like it's not I have been in
- 21:32Speaker 3: customer service my whole life, and I know that people
- 21:34Speaker 3: who who who do things like write the reviews that
- 21:36Speaker 3: are like and fopnish And we were on hold for
- 21:39Speaker 3: seventeen days and you're like, no, no, you're not, like yeah,
- 21:43Speaker 3: so I know, if you're dealing in that, you have
- 21:45Speaker 3: to be very matter of fact and like this is
- 21:50Speaker 3: this is what happened, right, Uh. And then their owner,
- 21:54Speaker 3: at least that's what it says. This person's uh business
- 21:58Speaker 3: owner replied and recounted the thing was like, yes, this
- 22:03Speaker 3: tree was knocked down by an act of God.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Uh.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Then we come out and cut it and it fell
- 22:08Speaker 3: into their house like like legit.
- 22:12Speaker 7: So I'm gonna I'm gonna trunk it because this merbadim
- 22:16Speaker 7: is kind of delightful. So this is the owner response
- 22:21Speaker 7: to Russ's Google review. Our company has responded to the
- 22:28Speaker 7: Robinson's regarding this unfortunate event which happened due to an
- 22:31Speaker 7: act of God Hurricane Helene causing damage to the neighbor's
- 22:35Speaker 7: house when mister Robinson's tree uprooted and fell onto their house.
- 22:39Speaker 7: Mister Robinson took no responsibility in helping his neighbor when
- 22:43Speaker 7: his tree fell onto their home causing damage because he
- 22:46Speaker 7: apparently knows the Florida law regarding fallen trees.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Time out. That adds slander to the list, by the way,
- 22:52Speaker 3: because they have no idea what I've talked to my
- 22:54Speaker 3: neighbor about and they don't know that it was over
- 22:56Speaker 3: there at seven o'clock in the morning learning about their
- 22:57Speaker 3: stripper bowl.
- 22:59Speaker 7: Right there's assuming here's the last sentence. Any damage to
- 23:04Speaker 7: the Robinson's property was caused when the Robinson's massive uprooted
- 23:09Speaker 7: tree was cut off on the neighbor's property, causing the
- 23:12Speaker 7: root ball to stand back up and.
- 23:14Speaker 6: Hit their house.
- 23:16Speaker 7: Gollie, g who cut the tree. That's not an act
- 23:21Speaker 7: of God, that's an act of negligence.
- 23:26Speaker 3: So to speed to the very end of this, to
- 23:28Speaker 3: speed run the rest of it, because this quickly gets
- 23:31Speaker 3: into a place where like we probably shouldn't even say
- 23:33Speaker 3: anything after this certain point was Lauren contacted our homeowners.
- 23:39Speaker 3: She contacted a law firm. And this is where the
- 23:45Speaker 3: Galaxy Quest part comes into play. I tease them with
- 23:47Speaker 3: the you know that Galaxy Quest where Mathisar makes the
- 23:55Speaker 3: captain explain to I'm sorry where I'm biking on his
- 24:01Speaker 3: name now, damn it, sarahs I'm sorry where Sarah's Sarah's
- 24:04Speaker 3: makes the captain explain to Mathisar and he's like, explained
- 24:08Speaker 3: it like you would a child. And then the captain
- 24:10Speaker 3: finally break down. He goes we lied and mathis goes,
- 24:15Speaker 3: you know that part. Okay, okay, every single person that
- 24:21Speaker 3: we have explained this to and shown the pictures, from
- 24:26Speaker 3: a competing tree company, to our neighbors, to a law firm,
- 24:30Speaker 3: to our homeowner's insurance, and to the people today, who
- 24:35Speaker 3: can the actual different crew who came to clean this
- 24:38Speaker 3: all up. Every time they're like, so tell me all
- 24:42Speaker 3: of this again, and then I explain it and they're
- 24:45Speaker 3: like like like no one can wrap their head around
- 24:51Speaker 3: us there, Like every person, including the law firm, is like,
- 24:56Speaker 3: but this is going to cost them so much more
- 24:58Speaker 3: money than if they had like let me, let me
- 25:01Speaker 3: roll it back and give you this. So the new
- 25:02Speaker 3: tree company that came, we had this like who's on
- 25:05Speaker 3: first moment where they didn't understand what I was saying
- 25:07Speaker 3: and I didn't understand what they were saying. Where the
- 25:09Speaker 3: guy the guy goes, The guy goes, he goes, Can
- 25:12Speaker 3: I ask you a question without like, I'm not trying
- 25:14Speaker 3: to blame you, but I want to know so I
- 25:17Speaker 3: understand what happened here? And I said, yeah, he goes.
- 25:20Speaker 3: When they first arrived and they were like, hey, since
- 25:23Speaker 3: our crew is on site and everything, like it's going
- 25:25Speaker 3: to cost you, like this stump is going to be
- 25:27Speaker 3: your responsibility since we're already here after we cut it,
- 25:32Speaker 3: and we like we can take it away and everything,
- 25:35Speaker 3: we can do it for far less, like because we're
- 25:37Speaker 3: already here, Like why didn't you guys take advantage of that?
- 25:40Speaker 3: And I was like, no, you don't understand. Like the
- 25:42Speaker 3: only interaction between us before they did that was me
- 25:45Speaker 3: being like, hey, please don't break our water line and
- 25:47Speaker 3: they were like okay, but also you have the option
- 25:49Speaker 3: to go fuck yourself like like like the and the
- 25:53Speaker 3: guy was like no, no, no, no no. When they
- 25:56Speaker 3: offered to do the work, like because it would benefit them,
- 25:59Speaker 3: like why didn't you just take them up on it?
- 26:01Speaker 3: And I was like you're not understanding, like they never
- 26:03Speaker 3: made that offer. And that was the first mathisar moment,
- 26:06Speaker 3: Like the guy was like, what would I do that?
- 26:09Speaker 3: You know, It's like they could have got money, Like
- 26:11Speaker 3: this whole thing went from they could have got money
- 26:15Speaker 3: from us to take the stump away to now.
- 26:21Speaker 11: Being directly responsible for damages so.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Much more than just what even during the halfway halfway
- 26:29Speaker 3: point in the week, Wow, when when it was like hey,
- 26:33Speaker 3: just so you know, I have actual before and after pictures, which,
- 26:36Speaker 3: by the way, this circles back to what I was
- 26:38Speaker 3: saying earlier. When this whole thing started. Her and I
- 26:40Speaker 3: didn't even know as much as like when a tree fell,
- 26:42Speaker 3: like I think that law is absurd personally, like if
- 26:44Speaker 3: the tree falls in someone's house like where it started
- 26:46Speaker 3: to me, it's like my tree, right, But we know
- 26:50Speaker 3: that now we know that they were they if they
- 26:53Speaker 3: had broken our water line, they would have been liable
- 26:55Speaker 3: for that. We know that they're liable for uh dropping
- 26:58Speaker 3: the tree on our house, and uh, when the law
- 27:01Speaker 3: firm is through this, they're going to pay for a
- 27:04Speaker 3: lot more from what we are told. So this whole
- 27:07Speaker 3: thing is just this is what I was telling you
- 27:09Speaker 3: guys earlier. This is what I was talking about, like
- 27:10Speaker 3: a hurricane of like human indecency, Like why treat people
- 27:15Speaker 3: like that, you know.
- 27:17Speaker 12: Right, because they think they can get away with things.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Well, that's that's what Lauren and I think. We think
- 27:22Speaker 3: that that's absolutely that they were just like, well, we're
- 27:25Speaker 3: just gonna say, like that phone call with the our
- 27:28Speaker 3: owner contacted an attorney. I think that was supposed to
- 27:31Speaker 3: make more and be like, oh no, not the law.
- 27:33Speaker 12: You know, like we better stopped calling. Yeah, yeah, I know.
- 27:38Speaker 6: It's like.
- 27:40Speaker 7: We broke our house, like you know, we We've said
- 27:43Speaker 7: this before on on my show and like several occasions,
- 27:47Speaker 7: like our neighborhood is what Russ likes to call hood adjacent.
- 27:51Speaker 3: And it's adjacent, like.
- 27:53Speaker 7: And so that should give you some kind of an
- 27:55Speaker 7: idea of like, you know, our house was built in
- 27:59Speaker 7: the late fifties. Okay, so it's just you know, concrete
- 28:03Speaker 7: black house that looks you know, it is what it is.
- 28:06Speaker 7: You know, this this was like the the place to
- 28:09Speaker 7: live in like the late fifties, early sixties, you know
- 28:11Speaker 7: what I mean. But then other suburbs kind of happened,
- 28:14Speaker 7: so like we are hood adjacent.
- 28:16Speaker 6: And I guarantee.
- 28:19Speaker 7: That this guy was like, oh, well, they're just you know,
- 28:23Speaker 7: you know, hood adjacent white trash. But what they failed
- 28:27Speaker 7: to realize is I'm hood adjacent white trash with two
- 28:30Speaker 7: master's degree who is not to be trifled with.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Yeah, married to her.
- 28:34Speaker 13: Yeah, but yeah that My whole thing with this is
- 28:39Speaker 13: just like why, like why And I'm not kidding you,
- 28:43Speaker 13: Like the homeowners insurance people were just like but why
- 28:48Speaker 13: why would you you know, and even the guy that
- 28:51Speaker 13: arrived today, was like he's like, you know, this dude
- 28:54Speaker 13: that was out for the crew today, Like he he
- 28:56Speaker 13: knows nothing other than like, hey, these people got screwed.
- 28:59Speaker 3: You guys got to get your out there on Saturday
- 29:00Speaker 3: and take care of this thing, you know. So he
- 29:02Speaker 3: like comes out and he's like, so this is the
- 29:03Speaker 3: first time he's ever seen this whole thing. So he's
- 29:05Speaker 3: like looking inside the house and looking at the thing,
- 29:07Speaker 3: and he's like the same thing. He's just like, but why,
- 29:12Speaker 3: like why wouldn't they have secured Like apparently, and I'm
- 29:17Speaker 3: not a tree expert or tree service expert, but like again,
- 29:24Speaker 3: now Lauren and I have become knowing all this stuff.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Apparently they are like make anchors for exactly this type
- 29:33Speaker 3: of thing. Because when, as we know with seesaws from
- 29:36Speaker 3: when you were a kid, when the fat kids on
- 29:39Speaker 3: one side and the thin kids on the other, and
- 29:41Speaker 3: the thin get like the fat kids the only one
- 29:43Speaker 3: left on there, like then you know that's gonna happen, right,
- 29:47Speaker 3: and like, so they are prepared for this, Like they
- 29:50Speaker 3: should have been prepared for this, and at the very least,
- 29:54Speaker 3: even if their attitude was going to be we don't
- 29:57Speaker 3: care about taking yourself, we don't care about your waterline.
- 30:00Speaker 3: It should have been like they should have been prepared
- 30:02Speaker 3: to lower it slowly, like even if it was against
- 30:05Speaker 3: our house, like oh well whatever, that's your and we
- 30:08Speaker 3: would have been like, well that sucks, you know, like
- 30:11Speaker 3: you know, like what that sucks. That's the way it is.
- 30:13Speaker 3: That's our tree now. And but they just were like
- 30:19Speaker 3: so negligent, and then negligent after that, and then negligent
- 30:23Speaker 3: after that. Like it's just like it's stunning. Like we
- 30:28Speaker 3: got to a point. I want to say, Thursday afternoon
- 30:32Speaker 3: was the I don't think I'm talking to a tourney
- 30:35Speaker 3: where you were like like she was like red and
- 30:38Speaker 3: like near scream crying, like Tuesday and Thursday going through
- 30:42Speaker 3: this and I'm not like, by the way, I wasn't like,
- 30:44Speaker 3: you know, like a Civil war picture. I was like,
- 30:46Speaker 3: I'm the picture of stoic, like like I was having moments.
- 30:49Speaker 3: It was about every fifteen minutes, like she'd lose it
- 30:51Speaker 3: and then I'd be okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, but like
- 31:00Speaker 3: smart by about by I think by like Thursday, we
- 31:04Speaker 3: both got to like this has to be hilarious or
- 31:08Speaker 3: else we're not gonna you know, like we're not, you know, like,
- 31:14Speaker 3: so we just started laughing at it more and the
- 31:19Speaker 3: and when the other tree company came out, the guy,
- 31:21Speaker 3: the guy, I'm not being funny when I say this,
- 31:23Speaker 3: the guy's literal reply because Lauren was on the phone
- 31:25Speaker 3: with her dad when I went through the thing. He
- 31:27Speaker 3: literally looked at me and went oh, and I saw
- 31:31Speaker 3: mathasar like laying a thing. And then it made me
- 31:34Speaker 3: realize that everyone has had that reaction. And then today
- 31:37Speaker 3: the one guy did it, and I just was like,
- 31:39Speaker 3: I want badly in court two if we want badly
- 31:45Speaker 3: to be like look you would a child, I want
- 31:51Speaker 3: to be like they lie the tree a child.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Have I hope thing that can happen.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Because anyway, So, so how was your week?
- 32:15Speaker 4: Yeah, well we'll get to that. Uh going for quite
- 32:20Speaker 4: a while, so we're gonna take a short break.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Yeah, come back. We're gonna compare our miserable lives to
- 32:27Speaker 2: it just happened to us.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Anywhere near as entertaining, but hopefully hopefully a little less
- 32:37Speaker 4: litigation involved.
- 32:38Speaker 2: But we'll find out.
- 32:39Speaker 4: I don't know what CB dougat but up to so
- 32:43Speaker 4: we'll be right back right after this.

- 33:38Speaker 2: Hey man, welcome back.
- 33:39Speaker 4: It's time for per two of vfy CW The Cell
- 33:43Speaker 4: Show with Rust and Lauren. We've just enjoyed hearing the
- 33:47Speaker 4: most remarkable case of human indecency and indocy that I've
- 33:53Speaker 4: heard in quite some time. We genuinely don't know how
- 33:56Speaker 4: to follow that. I don't have anything anywhere near as entertaining.
- 34:02Speaker 4: My week was pretty simple. I don't have a lot
- 34:04Speaker 4: to talk about. I spent a good portion of its
- 34:06Speaker 4: six so that's not fun.
- 34:07Speaker 3: But by the way, just like cold type of like
- 34:11Speaker 3: fluish or yeah.
- 34:12Speaker 4: It's just it's just this is cold symptoms. I checked
- 34:15Speaker 4: for COVID. It's not it's coming.
- 34:18Speaker 3: That's one of I know a million other bad things
- 34:20Speaker 3: have come out of the pandemic, but one of the
- 34:22Speaker 3: things now is like if you're just in public and
- 34:24Speaker 3: you're like, you like, the whole room looks and you're like,
- 34:27Speaker 3: not COVID, what it is?
- 34:32Speaker 2: The cough? Same thing?
- 34:34Speaker 4: Yeah, anyway, but I did have a little bit of
- 34:38Speaker 4: a misadventure. So the Thane audiobook has been in production
- 34:42Speaker 4: for what feels like forever.
- 34:45Speaker 2: I did. I did finally get a chance to listen
- 34:48Speaker 2: to the whole thing, oh yeah, and.
- 34:50Speaker 4: It was mostly delightful, but there was one rather severe problem.
- 34:57Speaker 4: One actor, uh did not perform quite the way I wanted,
- 35:04Speaker 4: and I had to make a choice between having them
- 35:07Speaker 4: redo all of their lines or just accepting that it
- 35:12Speaker 4: was going to be not what I wanted. And I
- 35:14Speaker 4: was like, there's no way I can't accept that, so.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Quite too much.
- 35:18Speaker 4: So we arranged very very quickly for a re record,
- 35:22Speaker 4: and Stevie was much better this time around.
- 35:25Speaker 3: I was going to make that joke.
- 35:30Speaker 2: I am absolutely kidding Stevie. It wasn't. It wasn't Stevie
- 35:37Speaker 2: Stevie now that first time around.
- 35:38Speaker 4: I'm not going to say who it was, but they
- 35:41Speaker 4: they Part of the reason that it wasn't exactly what
- 35:44Speaker 4: I wanted was because our schedules did not mesh, so
- 35:47Speaker 4: I couldn't be there to direct them as they did
- 35:50Speaker 4: their lines. This time I was, and it went way better.
- 35:54Speaker 4: They did a fantastic job. It's gonna be awesome. So
- 35:59Speaker 4: like that big concern, but I couldn't. I couldn't have
- 36:03Speaker 4: them do it all over again for nothing, right, So
- 36:07Speaker 4: I had to pay them again. Uh, and I'm also
- 36:10Speaker 4: gonna have to pay our audio engineer a little extra
- 36:12Speaker 4: because he's gonna have to go back in pull out
- 36:14Speaker 4: all of her old lines and put all the new
- 36:17Speaker 4: ones in. So I'm like, so that is like the
- 36:21Speaker 4: extent of my Kickstarter money.
- 36:23Speaker 2: I am done. Like I've got nothing.
- 36:25Speaker 4: So hopefully fingers crossed, knock on wood, nothing else goes wrong.
- 36:31Speaker 2: But yeah, that was That was the majority of.
- 36:33Speaker 4: My excitement this week was fixing a rather major problem
- 36:37Speaker 4: with the The Thane audiobook.
- 36:38Speaker 3: But so not that it's a contest to like compare
- 36:41Speaker 3: our stories or anything, but like, did you even hear
- 36:43Speaker 3: the mention of a story of the story.
- 36:51Speaker 4: I mean I I I didn't want to compete, so
- 36:53Speaker 4: I left out that part.
- 36:55Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 36:56Speaker 4: I was working the stripper pole the whole time I
- 36:58Speaker 4: was correcting them. I'm like just sliding down and like,
- 37:03Speaker 4: if you need.
- 37:03Speaker 3: A place to practice, I know, a guy.
- 37:07Speaker 4: I just twirled upside down was like, give me a
- 37:09Speaker 4: little bit more. I know, if nothing else to brace
- 37:18Speaker 4: your ceiling, ye.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Hire. Any of this whole thing is because of what
- 37:23Speaker 3: is going on with our carport. We had to order
- 37:25Speaker 3: like two poles that are like to brace, you know,
- 37:29Speaker 3: so we're like.
- 37:29Speaker 7: I to have a yeah, I mean, the only reason
- 37:33Speaker 7: like I would win a striple pole mostly because like
- 37:36Speaker 7: I like really weird like friction sounds, so like I
- 37:39Speaker 7: would just want to get up on the top of it,
- 37:41Speaker 7: just like come down really slowly, just have go.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Oh my god, Yeah, you know that would be really funny.
- 37:52Speaker 6: Thanks for letting me make that noise than Fantastic.
- 37:57Speaker 12: Mortalizes there forever, Si and Agi.
- 38:02Speaker 2: I don't have anything else for the week. What did
- 38:04Speaker 2: you guys get up to this week? That was literally it? Yeah?
- 38:08Speaker 9: Wow, geez, I've been messing with a ton of stuff
- 38:13Speaker 9: nerd wise, I like that. Yeah, I got rid of
- 38:18Speaker 9: the Linux server of Boontu Studio for the Linux laptop
- 38:22Speaker 9: I'm working on and went straight pop Os and it's
- 38:26Speaker 9: working phenomenally audacities running on their fine obs is running
- 38:30Speaker 9: on their fine I actually got da Vinci Resolve the
- 38:33Speaker 9: video editing to kind of work on it. Nice, not
- 38:37Speaker 9: super powerful, but it's Linux. But it does have sixteen
- 38:39Speaker 9: gigs a RAM in this thing.
- 38:40Speaker 12: It's an easter like.
- 38:42Speaker 9: This little book we just redid, and it's running actually
- 38:45Speaker 9: pretty well.
- 38:46Speaker 3: I know we've talked about this before, but is there
- 38:48Speaker 3: a more intuitive and free program on Earth than da
- 38:53Speaker 3: Vinci Resolved.
- 38:54Speaker 9: Not that I can find, at least not one that
- 38:57Speaker 9: in everything. Yeah, I think it doesn't work work with
- 39:00Speaker 9: and I think they're working soon to resolve it is.
- 39:03Speaker 9: It doesn't work on Android over Sun Linux, just not
- 39:09Speaker 9: yet on there.
- 39:09Speaker 3: The feature we don't even I'm close to scratching the
- 39:13Speaker 3: surface of the features it offers, like for our YouTube needs,
- 39:18Speaker 3: you know, Oh yeah, but you could, like on the
- 39:22Speaker 3: free version, you could near produce a movie.
- 39:26Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, yeah, It's It's remarkable how feature complete it
- 39:29Speaker 4: is for a free product.
- 39:31Speaker 12: Honestly, I love it.
- 39:33Speaker 3: I use it.
- 39:33Speaker 9: I use it every week now for our show, and
- 39:36Speaker 9: then just recently I started putting our audio version of
- 39:39Speaker 9: our show up on YouTube, so I'm doing a few
- 39:42Speaker 9: of those each day and stuff. So that's been fun.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Because are you doing that trick where you do you
- 39:46Speaker 3: render it at one frame a second like with a
- 39:49Speaker 3: still picture? Are you doing the actual like video and everything?
- 39:52Speaker 9: No, I actually I made I created a project some way.
- 39:55Speaker 9: I don't have to keep doing it every time because
- 39:57Speaker 9: I'm leasing. But I had like four or five individual
- 40:00Speaker 9: slides that transitioned into and out and just repeated and
- 40:04Speaker 9: then yeah, then I cut and disable all our slides
- 40:09Speaker 9: there where the ads are and I put like, say
- 40:11Speaker 9: it's Beard l or whatever.
- 40:13Speaker 12: I put their logo into that portion.
- 40:14Speaker 9: When it's smart, so chances whoever's added is then it
- 40:20Speaker 9: goes back to our slides when the show goes back on.
- 40:24Speaker 7: So I just you know, my brain, I don't know
- 40:28Speaker 7: the hallways in it sometimes and how I walk down
- 40:30Speaker 7: one and I'm like, how did I get here?
- 40:32Speaker 6: And then crazy, I don't.
- 40:34Speaker 11: Remember this part of the house.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Before there.
- 40:43Speaker 7: I don't remember eating corn.
- 40:47Speaker 4: A whole wing dedicated to Richard Marx what it was.
- 40:52Speaker 6: Just right there.
- 40:55Speaker 3: That wing hazard.
- 41:00Speaker 7: So so, Stevie, when you're over there talking about like
- 41:03Speaker 7: putting the audio version of your podcast up on YouTube
- 41:06Speaker 7: and stuff, and you've got a couple of still things,
- 41:08Speaker 7: so like, do y'all remember that dancing baby from Ali
- 41:12Speaker 7: mcbe old. Yes, So my brain was like, okay, but
- 41:16Speaker 7: what if.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Baby?
- 41:20Speaker 7: My brain is like, instead of stilling the we just
- 41:23Speaker 7: need to smoke over there, like.
- 41:30Speaker 2: We'll put Stevie in a diaper, we'll re record it,
- 41:32Speaker 2: We'll make our own version dancing streme video and like, okay,
- 41:38Speaker 2: now do it?
- 41:39Speaker 6: Do that? I have like dead ass listen into the
- 41:43Speaker 6: sword and I was like, that's great.
- 41:44Speaker 12: And then my brain's like, what if Stevie was the dancing.
- 41:49Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm hearing ideas for their YouTube channel.
- 41:54Speaker 11: For free to win a YouTube said Random visual Effects.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Someday we you guys are making the rounds on the
- 42:01Speaker 3: talk shows talking about how awesome your YouTube channel is.
- 42:03Speaker 3: Just remember long, that was a.
- 42:04Speaker 9: Long It'll be at the intro every time I'm dancing that,
- 42:10Speaker 9: says idea by Lauren podcast.
- 42:15Speaker 12: Every time.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 42:18Speaker 6: So anyway, I don't know how I got down that hallway,
- 42:20Speaker 6: but there we are.
- 42:21Speaker 12: I liked it. It was a fun hallway.
- 42:22Speaker 2: We got a fantastic.
- 42:25Speaker 9: Other than the Linux thing. I've been working with that
- 42:27Speaker 9: n as. You gave me that Sonology now.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Yeah, how's that working out?
- 42:33Speaker 9: There was issues with the hard drives, but yeah, it
- 42:37Speaker 9: took me about six hours. I was able to get
- 42:39Speaker 9: into all work again. And you gave me the two
- 42:43Speaker 9: four terrabyte drives, right, Yeah, there was also another one
- 42:47Speaker 9: terriby drive inside the Synology drive left inside. Yes, there's
- 42:51Speaker 9: another one in there, but I got today and as
- 42:54Speaker 9: of right now, every episode of b FY is now
- 42:57Speaker 9: backed up and redundancy backed up. Yeah, so it's on
- 43:02Speaker 9: like now what I count like seven different locations, seven
- 43:05Speaker 9: or eight different locations.
- 43:06Speaker 3: You can't.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Yeah, backed up to an absurd degree.
- 43:10Speaker 3: That's good though, I mean I know you know that.
- 43:11Speaker 3: That's that's good. Mine's backed up to one degree everything
- 43:15Speaker 3: we've ever done, including our videos, and.
- 43:17Speaker 12: Yeah, so I get paranoid a bottom.
- 43:20Speaker 3: No, you're absolutely correct. On a side note, this is
- 43:25Speaker 3: this again. This is some hallways in my mind. And
- 43:28Speaker 3: don't worry, there's not nothing to do with dancing babies,
- 43:33Speaker 3: just every so often you have one of those moments
- 43:35Speaker 3: where you're like the world is moving along, you know,
- 43:38Speaker 3: like you know how you just said two four terabyte drives? Yeah, okay,
- 43:44Speaker 3: And if I were to guess, this is probably nineteen
- 43:46Speaker 3: eighty six nineteen eighty seven. My family was the first
- 43:50Speaker 3: family in our neighborhood to have a computer with a
- 43:52Speaker 3: hard drive. Like everybody that we knew had computers with
- 43:59Speaker 3: most people had computed with five and a quarter inch drives,
- 44:02Speaker 3: some people had like five and a quarter in a
- 44:04Speaker 3: three three and a half inch, but like, nobody knew
- 44:07Speaker 3: we even heard of a hard drive yet. So my
- 44:10Speaker 3: dad came home from the from the electronic store with
- 44:13Speaker 3: this thing and he's like, yeah, there's this hard drive
- 44:15Speaker 3: inside that's like a whole bunch of memory. And I
- 44:18Speaker 3: was like, I don't get it, you know. So they
- 44:20Speaker 3: had to explain it to me, right, I kid you not.
- 44:23Speaker 3: I swear this is I could probably even look up
- 44:25Speaker 3: the model and find it. The hard drive in this
- 44:27Speaker 3: was twenty megabytes, and I remember clearly being like, how
- 44:32Speaker 3: would you ever need that much storage space? Because you
- 44:38Speaker 3: never remember most games that we bought at that time,
- 44:41Speaker 3: like PC games that you bought that time, came on
- 44:44Speaker 3: like four floppy dis like the biggest game I can
- 44:48Speaker 3: think of came on four and floppies at the time
- 44:51Speaker 3: were one point four to four megs.
- 44:53Speaker 4: So and even then you didn't install the whole thing
- 44:56Speaker 4: to a hard drive. It like a small portion.
- 44:59Speaker 3: Of yeah yeah, you just played, Yeah, absolutely, you just
- 45:02Speaker 3: switched the discs, right yeah. And then and then like, uh,
- 45:07Speaker 3: data has never gotten any bigger. So like when you
- 45:10Speaker 3: think about, now, how minuscule the biggest word file you have,
- 45:14Speaker 3: it's still it's killobytes right still, like you know what
- 45:17Speaker 3: I mean. So I was like twenty megabytes, Like you
- 45:22Speaker 3: put a library on that never, you know what I mean.
- 45:26Speaker 3: And so it's just crazy to me. Like within two
- 45:29Speaker 3: years we had a computer with a CD ROM and
- 45:32Speaker 3: I was like seven hundred and fifty megabytes, you know,
- 45:36Speaker 3: like you know, it's just crazy. And then and then
- 45:38Speaker 3: fast forward and now one of my friends is like,
- 45:40Speaker 3: and so, anyways, two four terriboid drugs.
- 45:42Speaker 12: And yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 45:44Speaker 3: If you tried to explain to me what a terear,
- 45:47Speaker 3: what one terabyte was, I would have been like, I
- 45:50Speaker 3: I give.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Up, stop quit.
- 45:52Speaker 4: My home server has twenty four terabytes of space Jesus
- 45:56Speaker 4: Christ to twelve.
- 45:58Speaker 3: And there's probably a concern that you will fill it
- 46:00Speaker 3: with media one day.
- 46:02Speaker 2: Oh, it's it's already eighty six percent full.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Yeah you know what I mean, don't. I'm not saying that,
- 46:08Speaker 3: like the you know, hold over filled us like I'm
- 46:10Speaker 3: an idiot, Like that was a genuine thought.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Movie TV shows. I have not put music on yet.
- 46:15Speaker 2: That's yet.
- 46:18Speaker 12: You got a video game server on there too, Oh yeah.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's full video games.
- 46:22Speaker 4: And I've also gotten actual servers running so we can
- 46:25Speaker 4: play Minecraft and all sorts of stuff.
- 46:30Speaker 3: So yeah, I just that's just one of those things
- 46:32Speaker 3: where you're like, you know, if you if you would
- 46:34Speaker 3: have told me then that a terrabyte would have been
- 46:36Speaker 3: a thing. Ever, I would have been.
- 46:38Speaker 4: Like, yeah, I can hold twenty megs on a chip
- 46:41Speaker 4: the size of my pinky easily.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Yeah, sh you hold Yeah, Yeah, it's wild. Yeah. Meanwhile,
- 46:50Speaker 2: there used to be the size of entire rooms.
- 46:52Speaker 4: Yeah, jacket the movie with the take drives, Yeah, going
- 46:57Speaker 4: back all the time. Yeah, all right, Well that's most
- 47:01Speaker 4: of our illustrious cast down.
- 47:02Speaker 2: There's this dog.
- 47:03Speaker 4: He left, but we're gonna find out what he's up
- 47:05Speaker 4: to when we come back from our second break.
- 47:07Speaker 2: Right after this.
- 47:17Speaker 13: Interrupt this program to bring you a newsplash.
- 47:20Speaker 11: Michael Jackson's ghost scene at a Yankees game.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Cinnamon Toast Crunch now with a shrimp in every bite.
- 47:28Speaker 11: Lil Uzi Vert's head Diamond has been sold on the
- 47:31Speaker 11: dark Web.
- 47:33Speaker 7: Stories like this and more can be found at the

- 48:07Speaker 2: Hey man, welcome back.
- 48:09Speaker 4: It's time for part three of our our Chill Show
- 48:12Speaker 4: with Russe and Lauren. And the only person left to
- 48:14Speaker 4: tell us they're exciting, super tremendous, thrilling story of their
- 48:18Speaker 4: week is Augie. And I know Ogi is gonna button
- 48:21Speaker 4: this show up with some really interesting and intriguing stuff,
- 48:24Speaker 4: and I legitimately just cannot wait to hear what Oggie
- 48:27Speaker 4: has to say about his week.
- 48:30Speaker 11: So I started this stripper pol Factory.
- 48:35Speaker 3: I was, I was sitting here they getting please off.
- 48:40Speaker 2: At a boy brilliant.
- 48:43Speaker 3: So I'm in Jacksonville and he's like you better hurry
- 48:49Speaker 3: up because the hurricanes coming.
- 48:53Speaker 6: Amazing.
- 48:54Speaker 2: I made sure it was one of them low berris.
- 48:59Speaker 9: That would last, one that will last solid.
- 49:04Speaker 3: You go get one of those regular ones. This one
- 49:06Speaker 3: I'm selling you is hurricane I.
- 49:08Speaker 6: Don't want to know that flimsy aluminium strip.
- 49:14Speaker 12: The strippers like.
- 49:15Speaker 11: Multiple hurricane tested, hurricane tested. But uh, so well, I've
- 49:27Speaker 11: just been working around working still.
- 49:30Speaker 6: Oh he's doing.
- 49:32Speaker 2: That's it. That's it. That's all we get. No I
- 49:35Speaker 2: knew it.
- 49:36Speaker 10: So it's that time of year. The leaves are changing
- 49:39Speaker 10: here on the East coast. Uh, we're getting all the
- 49:41Speaker 10: nice fall harvest stuff going. Uh the store I'm working at,
- 49:45Speaker 10: h we've got pumpkins. We're selling pumpkins and stuff like that,
- 49:48Speaker 10: which is really fun. But you know what's not fun
- 49:51Speaker 10: finding the ones.
- 49:52Speaker 11: That were bruised when they were when.
- 49:56Speaker 10: They put up into display, because going through each one
- 49:59Speaker 10: is like testing like a land mine. Which one's going
- 50:03Speaker 10: to explode in your hands when you grab Oh this
- 50:05Speaker 10: one's nice and firm and tough. Okay, this one's a
- 50:08Speaker 10: little a little mushy. Oh, this one exploded in my hands,
- 50:12Speaker 10: and I've got icky pumpkin goo all over the place.
- 50:18Speaker 11: Yeah, that was fun.
- 50:20Speaker 3: So maybe it's just this time of year. But that's
- 50:22Speaker 3: the name of the girl that was dancing next door
- 50:24Speaker 3: when they went over.
- 50:25Speaker 6: With Pumpkin.
- 50:38Speaker 4: Oh, Mercy, Victoria.
- 50:48Speaker 6: Whatever happened to Victoria Pumpkin Goo.
- 50:54Speaker 4: She was going to school for law, free law.
- 51:04Speaker 2: Oh my god, yes, I pump.
- 51:10Speaker 15: Yeah, oh my okay, but yeah, we've been starting our
- 51:19Speaker 15: dungeons and dragon sessions.
- 51:22Speaker 11: Yeah, now, because it's hard to meet every single.
- 51:27Speaker 12: Week and being biased.
- 51:28Speaker 11: Awesome, sure, I'll trust your word on that.
- 51:36Speaker 2: He's like, speak for yourself.
- 51:38Speaker 11: I do, he does often. But yeah, so we've been
- 51:44Speaker 11: messing around with that as well.
- 51:46Speaker 10: Oh yeah, like not as crazy as as a hurricane obviously.
- 51:52Speaker 2: Yeah, none of us were going to compete with that.
- 51:54Speaker 12: No, no, like just no way.
- 51:56Speaker 10: Like we don't get hur like we get like some
- 51:59Speaker 10: of the rain water after the rainwater.
- 52:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you know what mildstorms after. It's interesting.
- 52:06Speaker 3: It's interesting being on this end of it because I
- 52:08Speaker 3: grew up in Detroit, right, so yeah, I, like everybody
- 52:12Speaker 3: else my whole life, have watched like Good Morning America
- 52:16Speaker 3: everything else. I'm like fucking Florida, right, look at that ship,
- 52:18Speaker 3: you know, And then like five days later, I'm like, God,
- 52:21Speaker 3: damn it, it's raining really hard, and not realizing when
- 52:24Speaker 3: I was a little kid, you know, like that's the
- 52:26Speaker 3: end of the thing that blew Florida away, you know
- 52:28Speaker 3: what I mean. So like now on this end, I'm like,
- 52:30Speaker 3: oh my god, damn it. In five days, no one
- 52:32Speaker 3: in Detroit is going to know that it's the end
- 52:34Speaker 3: of this.
- 52:36Speaker 11: Playing because it's raining.
- 52:40Speaker 3: You know what we should mention? Actually, that was a
- 52:42Speaker 3: very good thing of our week, that that I believe
- 52:44Speaker 3: these fellows will identify with, Ok, what do we do
- 52:47Speaker 3: on Friday night last week? After the page and all thing?
- 52:50Speaker 3: What do we do on Friday night?
- 52:52Speaker 2: Friday night?
- 52:53Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 52:53Speaker 7: We we went to her friend's house and he has
- 52:57Speaker 7: the end.
- 53:00Speaker 2: We we used his friends, Yeah.
- 53:06Speaker 7: Yeah, we we We use their air conditioning and their
- 53:10Speaker 7: flushing toilets.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Nice.
- 53:15Speaker 6: The reason it up is because our friend Ben.
- 53:19Speaker 7: Is he created a tabletop game based on the Attitude
- 53:23Speaker 7: era of the w W E, and we play tested
- 53:28Speaker 7: it and had a riot.
- 53:30Speaker 3: If you if you all are familiar with tabletop games,
- 53:34Speaker 3: you'll know the terminology a little better than we did
- 53:36Speaker 3: that night. It's a it's a deck building game, really, yes,
- 53:40Speaker 3: and let me like I knew a little about deck
- 53:44Speaker 3: building games, like we are blessed with friends who know
- 53:47Speaker 3: everything there is to know about every type of.
- 53:48Speaker 7: Table, explaining it to you before you start to play,
- 53:51Speaker 7: so like you don't feel like you're like an idiot.
- 53:54Speaker 3: So but like this guy built this game from the
- 53:58Speaker 3: ground up. And if you know anything about wrestling, from
- 54:00Speaker 3: the attitude there is generally considered to be nineteen ninety
- 54:03Speaker 3: nine to like two thousand and two. So like it's
- 54:06Speaker 3: hard to describe he had. He had like like there
- 54:10Speaker 3: were cards that were of course you had, you know,
- 54:13Speaker 3: Stone Cold and the Rock and all that stuff, but
- 54:15Speaker 3: like he had like the slobber Knocker card that like
- 54:18Speaker 3: they could play the like you know, and uh, oh
- 54:21Speaker 3: my god, he's broken in half like cards, you know.
- 54:25Speaker 3: But and he worked in everything like you had to
- 54:28Speaker 3: you had to get over points with the crowd, and
- 54:32Speaker 3: when you had enough over points then you could win
- 54:36Speaker 3: in succession. You had to win the US Belt, Intercontinental Belt,
- 54:40Speaker 3: and then the heavyweight belt and if you and then
- 54:43Speaker 3: at the end, the two people with the most over
- 54:46Speaker 3: points I think met at WrestleMania and whatever. But like
- 54:50Speaker 3: he incorporated, he incorporated money in the bank into it.
- 54:53Speaker 3: It was it was really.
- 54:56Speaker 2: Cool and we went over right up MIAOI.
- 55:00Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, it was a lot of fun.
- 55:01Speaker 7: And like we went over there because he was like,
- 55:03Speaker 7: he was like, Ben's the coolest Ben actually, like I'm
- 55:07Speaker 7: he's one of the original hosts is a Trivial Warfare podcast.
- 55:11Speaker 6: He's my buddy. He's been my buddy for quite some time.
- 55:13Speaker 7: And he he was like he was like, yeah, yo,
- 55:17Speaker 7: I made this game.
- 55:18Speaker 6: And this did my Ben impression because his voice is
- 55:20Speaker 6: really low and he's.
- 55:21Speaker 3: Like racist, I made this game.
- 55:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 55:26Speaker 6: He's like I made this game.
- 55:30Speaker 7: And he's like, you know, I want you to come
- 55:32Speaker 7: over and play it. And we were fully expecting you
- 55:35Speaker 7: to be like hand drawn cards and stuff because to
- 55:37Speaker 7: like help have the mechanics. The cards are like in sleeves,
- 55:42Speaker 7: like you felt like you were playing like real cards.
- 55:43Speaker 6: He had like pieces and stuff, and I'm like, holy crap, Ben.
- 55:47Speaker 7: You know he had like the board made out of
- 55:49Speaker 7: like foam board and stuff, so like you got this
- 55:53Speaker 7: all the logos and stuff and all the belts, like
- 55:55Speaker 7: it was amazing.
- 55:56Speaker 3: If you didn't know any better, you could have walked
- 55:59Speaker 3: in the room and Ben like how was there WWF
- 56:02Speaker 3: game I didn't know about, you know what I mean,
- 56:03Speaker 3: like like like look, but more than anything, there wasn't
- 56:07Speaker 3: we played. I think the whole game lasted probably four hours,
- 56:10Speaker 3: and I guess, but there was no game breaking moment,
- 56:14Speaker 3: like he had thought everything through to where there wasn't
- 56:17Speaker 3: a moment where it was like, hey, I want to
- 56:19Speaker 3: play his card and he was like, oh crap, that
- 56:22Speaker 3: that's not gonna work, you know what I mean, Like
- 56:23Speaker 3: it was like, okay, play that card like that, I'll work.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Like there was even there there wasn't money in the back.
- 56:29Speaker 3: I got the money in the bank. I got the
- 56:31Speaker 3: money in the bank, and I won the world title
- 56:34Speaker 3: and was able to skip to Mania and then I
- 56:36Speaker 3: shit you not. How the game ended was the raw
- 56:40Speaker 3: before Mania she won, and then at Mania I won
- 56:48Speaker 3: with my finisher using like I was the Undertaker. So
- 56:51Speaker 3: I used the Tombstone card to win at Mania and
- 56:54Speaker 3: and win the game, which is how real life goes.
- 56:59Speaker 3: Like the raw, the go home Raw, whoever wins there
- 57:02Speaker 3: and usually they lose the paper view, and that's how
- 57:05Speaker 3: it happened to happen in this game.
- 57:07Speaker 7: It was really really cool and so you know, like
- 57:11Speaker 7: I had a blast with it, and yeah, understanding the
- 57:14Speaker 7: ip behind it and stuff.
- 57:16Speaker 6: It was fun.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Cool building games are my jam I absolutely love them.
- 57:22Speaker 2: I love the strategy of them.
- 57:23Speaker 4: I love how it just feels to have a completely
- 57:28Speaker 4: different deck when you finish the game to when you start,
- 57:31Speaker 4: and like it's the it's so funny, like he just
- 57:36Speaker 4: hit the sweet spot, like the I'm not a wrestling
- 57:39Speaker 4: fan generally speaking, but I was during the attitude. Yeah,
- 57:44Speaker 4: I was a big fan of it and I enjoyed
- 57:45Speaker 4: it during that time. So like this would be so
- 57:48Speaker 4: far right up my alley.
- 57:50Speaker 3: I would contact him and ask him, yeah, yeah, we'll
- 57:55Speaker 3: pay you in touch with them because they were and
- 57:57Speaker 3: I don't want to keep detailing everything, but there were
- 57:59Speaker 3: little things when you talk about that era, like he
- 58:02Speaker 3: had thought of everything. Like in the upper corner of
- 58:04Speaker 3: each card was the faction, So like if you had
- 58:07Speaker 3: if you happen to have China and road Dog and
- 58:11Speaker 3: uh mister asked and triple h Like you were powered
- 58:14Speaker 3: up more on each card because they're all from DX,
- 58:17Speaker 3: you know. Like so like you were saying with it.
- 58:19Speaker 3: With a deck building like it, it would benefit you
- 58:22Speaker 3: to get cards from the same faction, but also you
- 58:27Speaker 3: could still do your business without right. Yeah, it was
- 58:30Speaker 3: just really.
- 58:31Speaker 6: Really really cool, really.
- 58:32Speaker 2: Really well put together.
- 58:33Speaker 3: It sounds like, yeah, we'll connect with him because he's
- 58:36Speaker 3: part of the podcast. He's the host of Trivia.
- 58:38Speaker 6: One True Story.
- 58:40Speaker 2: True Story.
- 58:41Speaker 4: And I don't know if I've ever said this on
- 58:43Speaker 4: the show, but I actually built my own tabletop deck
- 58:46Speaker 4: building game back in the day. I also had printed.
- 58:50Speaker 4: Now it's on a way more niche topic. It's about
- 58:56Speaker 4: text Murphy. If you don't know who that is, like
- 58:59Speaker 4: I I won't bother explaining it, but basically it surrounds
- 59:04Speaker 4: these PC games from the nineties that I really enjoyed,
- 59:08Speaker 4: and I just wanted to have the idea of just
- 59:10Speaker 4: like traveling around town trying to pick up clues to
- 59:13Speaker 4: solve a mystery before the bad guys succeed in their
- 59:16Speaker 4: planned uh. And I had it printed and I got like,
- 59:21Speaker 4: you know, little pieces and all sorts of stuff, and
- 59:24Speaker 4: I don't know if it's as polished as what Ben
- 59:26Speaker 4: put out, but I'm just envious, like, yeah, well I
- 59:30Speaker 4: want to play.
- 59:31Speaker 3: That one, like I all cards on the table. I
- 59:34Speaker 3: don't know anything about any trivia podcasts. I know there's
- 59:37Speaker 3: a million of them. But like, I have friends in
- 59:42Speaker 3: northern California who are not at all, like they're just
- 59:45Speaker 3: regular podcast listeners. They're not at all part of the community.
- 59:48Speaker 3: And they happen to find out that we know Ben
- 59:51Speaker 3: from Trivia Warfare and they were like, that's like our
- 59:53Speaker 3: favorite trip. You know Ben, And they were like, yeah,
- 59:57Speaker 3: Ben's like on our couch watching Marshling, so you know,
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: and they're like, he's as cool in real life as
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: he We're like, no, he's not actually that cool. He's
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: just so yeah, he's not nearly as tall as he sounds.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: But my thing is he's at least part of the
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: podcasting community, so we could something for sure.
- 1:00:18Speaker 7: Yeah, it was fun, like it was it was us too,
- 1:00:21Speaker 7: and then Ben and his wife and like we had
- 1:00:22Speaker 7: a weird like double date at their house while we
- 1:00:25Speaker 7: were borrowing their ac and flushing toilets and playing their game.
- 1:00:28Speaker 6: It was nice.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: That was something. I would go in their bathroom and
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: hit the lever and then it was the went away.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: So cool. They have a thing I guess that you
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: were listeners won't be able to see me doing the quotes,
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: but they had a thing called running water that we
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: didn't have good Yeah, it was something. And then they
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: had a thing where there uh, there's the electrical switch
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: on the wall when they when they turned it on
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: the lights and power, yeah they call it yeah power did.
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: You like we our power was out for we're not
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: fucking broken out?
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: Which I think that's kind of I don't mean to
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: be a jerk, but like, I think our house is
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: a lot nicer because like they didn't even have one
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: tree stump broken.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Sticking out of this. Your house has character and story
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: that you can tell forever.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: It's true.
- 1:01:20Speaker 6: It's true. Yeah, well listen, I'll tell you what.
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: Like we were all all joking aside the company.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: That lost their minds, right, oh my god.
- 1:01:29Speaker 7: But like, like seriously all joking aside. Like Russ and
- 1:01:33Speaker 7: I have been through it for the past week ish
- 1:01:37Speaker 7: or so, right, and I've said to him on more
- 1:01:39Speaker 7: than one occasion, like this sucks. But I don't I
- 1:01:42Speaker 7: wouldn't want to go through this with anybody other than you,
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: because we've found like our balance, you know, with it,
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: Like we're kind of keeping each other in check throughout
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: this whole process. So I think this could have been
- 1:01:53Speaker 7: a whole lot worse in a whole lot of ways,
- 1:01:56Speaker 7: and not the least of which is the fact that,
- 1:01:57Speaker 7: like we've had each other through the yeah.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Have been any moment of like flashing out at each
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: other over things we can't.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: That means, Yeah, it sounds like you both stepped up
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: in equal measure to handle this situation, which is just
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: I'm I'm envious of that kind of relationship, to be honest, team.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: And so it is with that jealousy, I'm going to
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: end the show. So you made.
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: Yeah, We've just been going for over an hour at
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: this point, I think it's a good time to cut
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: it off. As much fun as it always is to
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: have to spend time with you guys, and I do
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: want to spend more, if only to come down there
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: to Florida and meet Ben and play this game.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Go to Ben's house, just bargin.
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: Hi, we don't know what your real warfare is, but
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: we want to play your game.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: I think managed. I've been on an episode of Trivial
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Warfare and I've still never heard the show. I was
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: on that one that was like Who's loft? Was that
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: Jonathan's where people threw in the middle of the episode.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: It was awesome, weird, Yeah, there were a lot of
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: drunk guys.
- 1:03:07Speaker 6: Look as the.
- 1:03:08Speaker 7: Host of a podcast that drinking always occurs on, nobody's
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: ever thrown up on my show.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: Well, that's a challenge to bed podcast next.
- 1:03:21Speaker 12: Week until next week, that's true.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: Any weird else.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: Check, Well, when we meet him next year, we'll tell
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: them about the story and hopefully put one in.
- 1:03:42Speaker 7: I also now want to make a weird al themes
- 1:03:44Speaker 7: tabletop game. So like my brain is already like, there you.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Go, there's something to that. I'm sure you could do it.
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: Meanwhile, that's going to be it from us. You can
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: follow the show would be at Flight to w podcast.
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: You can follow me at Panthers Are and you can
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: follow Steedie.
- 1:03:58Speaker 12: At Midnight Smoke.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: You can follow Aggie at doggieser Russ Lauren.
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: Where can people find beard out in the Infectious Groove
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: YouTube channel?
- 1:04:07Speaker 7: All right, Well, you can find the beard Out podcast
- 1:04:09Speaker 7: at beard out Podcast on all of the things and
- 1:04:13Speaker 7: also beard out podcast dot com uh and the infectious
- 1:04:17Speaker 7: groove YouTube channel.
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: What is just infectious groove music on YouTube?
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: You just go to YouTube and type infectious groove music
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: or whatever. The two things will come up. One the
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: band that other people have heard of and then all
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: of our goofy videos.
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: Genuinely, your goofy videos are brilliant because it's very, very
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: positive we try.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Yeah, there's there's no like negative energy.
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: It is all about you should check out this song
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: or if you're a fan of this band, you should
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: check out this band. And of course have a lot
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: of love for the Rush videos that you guys have
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: done because they've all been excellent.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: And we never find a way to work on a
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Russian because our main series is five songs to start
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: with and hidden gems, and I think we did both
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: of those.
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: Yeah, why don't we just do a general what's so
- 1:05:00Speaker 7: great about Rush?
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: I'm sure there's gonna be a lot to plumb.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: We do reactions to and we could do Rush, but
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: I feel like if we do any Rush reactions, it's
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: gonna be a lot of me doing the Leonardo DiCaprio thing,
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: like when like when uh neil Pert's doing anything, I'm
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: just gonna be like, right there, he's doing the thing,
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: right there.
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: I can't recommend it enough. It's fantastic stuff. And of course,
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: as a weird al fan as you should be, uh,
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: and I definitely am uh, you definitely want to check
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: out the beard Out podcast, especially now that he's doing
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: a tour and a.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: Big yes, huge, huge, it's a big.
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: One during the break, but he's doing he's doing venues
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: that are much much bigger than he used to do,
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: which is weird, outstanding.
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: He's playing Madison Square Garden. That is incredible, weird, the
- 1:05:54Speaker 7: Big Room Madison Square Garden, like.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: He said, the big Room, like it was going to
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: be the four hundreds either underneath like theft you know
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: that little Oh yeah, I know, but that was just funny,
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: I you know.
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: But anyway, the Medicine Square Garden is one of the
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: most famous venues in the world, and I just assumed
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: the Big Room was meant to employ that.
- 1:06:17Speaker 6: Well, all right, I was just emphastizing it.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: One thing I would like to stop often point out
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: was during the break, y'all had asked me when, because
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: I said, his tour starts with five shows in Las Vegas.
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: June thirteenth is the first show in Las Vegas, and
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: he's playing the Big the big Room that the Venetian
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: in Las Vegas.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: On the Las Vegas trip five nights, weird Alow and
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: one of the things is on this tour? Is he is?
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Did he say four extra people?
- 1:06:45Speaker 6: Yeah, the band is doubled in size.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: He's got his normal band that he's played with forever,
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: and now he has four extra people for the first
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: time ever. And according we don't know what this means yet,
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: but he's going to be doing some songs for the
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: first time ever on tour.
- 1:07:01Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: This is a lot of people that I've seen on socials,
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: like on Weird, all socials have been like, is he
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: going back to a quote regular tour? Because he did
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: the Strings tour and then he did the two different
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: ill advised tours which were directly aimed at people like us,
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: which was non parodies and all the songs that we
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: love that are not parodies. This is like, if you're
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: a guy who loves only white and nerdy and smells
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: like Nirvana, you're gonna hear those and then you're going
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: to spend the rest of the night going Jesus, this
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: man is brilliant. Like, you know, I assume the fat
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: Suit's coming back the whole nine yards Like yeah, so.
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: Big, he tweet he put on Instagram recently.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: Just got booted again. Sorry about that.
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: No, worries.
- 1:07:47Speaker 7: I was just gonna say weird at put weird out
- 1:07:49Speaker 7: put on Instagram recently a picture of him on a
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: previous tour doing I Want to Be Your Lover, and
- 1:07:57Speaker 7: he was like, He's like, I'm ready to be all
- 1:07:59Speaker 7: up in your face. Is in twenty twenty five, and
- 1:08:01Speaker 7: like when he would perform I Want to Be Your Lover,
- 1:08:03Speaker 7: he would literally like grind in people's faces in the crowd.
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: And so I have an aisle seat.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: On the march.
- 1:08:14Speaker 7: Oh, here's hope, and he goes.
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: O that side.
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: Let me say this. I know we got to wrap up.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: Let me say this. She has shown me footage of
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Weird Now doing this song I Want to Be Your
