- 0:00Speaker 1: Time now for back to the basics and healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: balanced life Chiropractic here with doctor Harley.
- 0:04Speaker 2: How you doing, Doctor Harley, Hey John, I'm doing great.
- 0:06Speaker 2: I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend and
- 0:08Speaker 2: got some time outside, got some vitamin D.
- 0:11Speaker 1: It was ninety degrees out on Sunday, so it was
- 0:14Speaker 1: you know, this might be one of those years where
- 0:16Speaker 1: we skip from you know, it's kind of cold and
- 0:19Speaker 1: kind of yucky too. It's super hot in summer, like
- 0:22Speaker 1: one of those very contracted springs, right, you.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Know, spring has this up and downs.
- 0:27Speaker 1: It's fine, and this time of year, a lot of
- 0:29Speaker 1: people spend time outside doing things, whether they're out enjoying
- 0:32Speaker 1: life and going for walks and playing in the park,
- 0:35Speaker 1: or if they're in their own yard doing like gardening
- 0:37Speaker 1: and all that. But when you're doing all those things,
- 0:39Speaker 1: you have an opportunity to injure yourself, whether you I
- 0:43Speaker 1: don't think you probably ever mean to, but say that
- 0:45Speaker 1: wouldn't make no sense, whether you mean to or not,
- 0:48Speaker 1: But you have an opportunity to pull a little of
- 0:50Speaker 1: this or spraining a little of that. So let's chat
- 0:53Speaker 1: a little bit about how chiropractic can help somebody be
- 0:55Speaker 1: ready for spring, right, you know.
- 0:57Speaker 2: We kind of hibernate all winter. Sure we don't leap
- 1:00Speaker 2: like the bears, but we stay inside. We're not as active.
- 1:03Speaker 2: And then as we start getting more into the nice weather,
- 1:07Speaker 2: that honey do list, you know, the garage needs cleaning,
- 1:10Speaker 2: the garden needs telling. All these things start adding up,
- 1:13Speaker 2: like I don't have time to do all this and
- 1:14Speaker 2: we're trying to cram it all into one small weekend
- 1:17Speaker 2: because the weather's finally nice enough. Or yeah, we're starting
- 1:20Speaker 2: to get out walking more or getting into playing some
- 1:23Speaker 2: spring sports like softball, baseball, soccer, even you know, golf, golf, Yeah,
- 1:29Speaker 2: a lot of golf.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Do people get hurt? Golfing? Is that the thing where
- 1:32Speaker 1: you end up at a chiropractor? A lot from golfing,
- 1:34Speaker 1: except that to me, the motions that you're making would
- 1:37Speaker 1: seem like it'd be pretty easy to pull something.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Oh, definitely, I think really, any rotational sport, you know,
- 1:42Speaker 2: you know, the softball, baseball, golf where you're doing a
- 1:44Speaker 2: lot of like twisting, can definitely through your back. I mean,
- 1:47Speaker 2: look at Tiger Woods, number one golfer in the world
- 1:49Speaker 2: for a long time. He had a couple of back
- 1:51Speaker 2: surgeries because he'd hurt his back, you know, from just
- 1:53Speaker 2: like that, repetition, repetition, repetition. So even the pros can
- 1:56Speaker 2: get injured while playing the sports they love.
- 1:59Speaker 1: What does get personal golfer do when they retired? Do
- 2:01Speaker 1: they go sit at a desk somewhere and relax?
- 2:03Speaker 2: I think they keep golfing? Oh?
- 2:04Speaker 1: Do they?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Okay? Right? I mean they don'tially stop. Like that's one
- 2:07Speaker 2: of those nice sports that you can keep doing as
- 2:10Speaker 2: you get older. And you know, all anytime we're in
- 2:13Speaker 2: constant motion or doing more activity than we're used to,
- 2:17Speaker 2: our body is going to be kind of like, hold up,
- 2:19Speaker 2: what are we doing here? And you might not notice
- 2:21Speaker 2: it right away. Pain, always say, pain is always the
- 2:23Speaker 2: last thing to show up. And so you might feel
- 2:25Speaker 2: pretty good, you might feel a little tired, and then
- 2:27Speaker 2: you go to bed and you wake up be like,
- 2:28Speaker 2: oh wow, I didn't realize I overdid it yesterday. Doesn't
- 2:31Speaker 2: mean that you necessarily did you know, something heavier or not.
- 2:34Speaker 2: It's like you just did more than your bodies used
- 2:37Speaker 2: to and your body wasn't ready for it.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And sometimes it's not even just what you did yesterday,
- 2:41Speaker 1: but it's you know, leading this led to this, led
- 2:43Speaker 1: to this, and now you finally notice it.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I feel like it's the lack of doing stuff and
- 2:48Speaker 2: then going all out that weekend more your project, and
- 2:51Speaker 2: then you're hurting by Sunday afternoon and you're thinking, Okay,
- 2:54Speaker 2: what do I need to do to get myself ready
- 2:56Speaker 2: for the work week? Going to a chiropractice, you know,
- 2:58Speaker 2: getting scheduled for an appointment month morning with the chiropractice,
- 3:01Speaker 2: I really get a good way to help recover from
- 3:04Speaker 2: that weekend warrior mentality that or plan ahead and.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Get an appointment before the weekend, so then you're kind
- 3:10Speaker 1: of getting things adjusted before you go and tackle all
- 3:12Speaker 1: that stuff, right.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I always it's good to stay in good alignment just
- 3:16Speaker 2: in general. It's the best for you know, overall health
- 3:18Speaker 2: and wellness. Your body's not going to be stressed out.
- 3:20Speaker 2: But then also when you're moving, everything's moving like it's
- 3:23Speaker 2: supposed to. We're very biomechanically sound, like our bodies are
- 3:26Speaker 2: supposed to be very efficient. So when we find that
- 3:29Speaker 2: like oh, one side's hurting more than the other, or
- 3:31Speaker 2: one leg or one arm, or that just tells me
- 3:34Speaker 2: that something's not moving like it's supposed to and it's
- 3:37Speaker 2: having to work harder than that area is designed for.
- 3:40Speaker 2: And that's why we feel, you know, the aches, pains
- 3:44Speaker 2: or pulled something, or we get that sharp pinching kind
- 3:47Speaker 2: of feeling something's out of alignment.
- 3:49Speaker 1: If somebody's experiencing that, or if they just want to
- 3:51Speaker 1: try to avoid that, what is the best way for
- 3:53Speaker 1: them to connect with Balance Life Chiropractical, Well, it.
