- 0:11Speaker 2: Welcome to car talk with the Dungeons Toyota Family of Autos.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Nathan Solson here in studio Brad Dungeons as well, Good.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Morning, Good morning, Nathan. How are you good to have
- 0:22Speaker 3: you with us this morning.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Well, I'm glad to be here and you've got a
- 0:26Speaker 2: great guest with you today, do I do?
- 0:29Speaker 4: Janet Odin from the Barlsville Art Association say.
- 0:32Speaker 5: Good morning, Good morning everyone. Good, it's good to be here.
- 0:35Speaker 3: It's great to have you here.
- 0:36Speaker 4: And we were talking before the show about all the
- 0:39Speaker 4: great stuff going on at the Art Association and there
- 0:42Speaker 4: is always.
- 0:43Speaker 3: A busy schedule, very busy, and.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Stuff going on virtually every day, it seems like, yep,
- 0:49Speaker 4: and I'm sure it probably is every day.
- 0:51Speaker 6: Yeah, I think Monday, is it. Well, no, that's not true,
- 0:54Speaker 6: because we have a kid's class on Monday now, so
- 0:57Speaker 6: Monday through Thursday we've got something going on every day day.
- 1:00Speaker 4: And there's and even on the other days you guys
- 1:02Speaker 4: are busy creating your art or doing or I'm sure
- 1:05Speaker 4: in the background.
- 1:06Speaker 3: There's always stuff there on. Yeah. Sure.
- 1:09Speaker 4: For many decades, you guys have kind of been the
- 1:13Speaker 4: local center of the of the arts.
- 1:15Speaker 3: In town.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Not you know, you probably don't want to be the center.
- 1:20Speaker 4: But yeah, I mean it's one of those things that
- 1:24Speaker 4: you give it a kind of gravity to people who
- 1:26Speaker 4: wanted to create, interested in that, and all the way
- 1:31Speaker 4: back to nineteen fifty two.
- 1:33Speaker 5: Correct.
- 1:33Speaker 6: Yes, the organization was started by a group of art
- 1:36Speaker 6: teachers in nineteen fifty two and expanded in the sixties
- 1:42Speaker 6: because they wanted they had friends that weren't necessarily artists,
- 1:47Speaker 6: that wanted to be a part and so then they
- 1:52Speaker 6: changed the name from the Bartleville Artists' Association to the
- 1:56Speaker 6: Bartlesville Art Association and then that's been that's been us
- 2:01Speaker 6: ever since.
- 2:02Speaker 4: The label artists a little be imposing to some people.
- 2:05Speaker 4: But we all can have art.
- 2:07Speaker 5: I mean, yes, we do.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Everybody does in a way.
- 2:10Speaker 6: Yeah, we all have that that creative spirit in us
- 2:13Speaker 6: that needs to get out somehow.
- 2:15Speaker 4: No, it is important and it uh you know, it
- 2:18Speaker 4: kind of helps you get away from all the other
- 2:20Speaker 4: stress in life. Yes, it does focus on something that's
- 2:24Speaker 4: just for you or maybe a close group of friends
- 2:27Speaker 4: or in this case, on you what your big event
- 2:30Speaker 4: coming up in a couple of weeks or November six.
- 2:33Speaker 6: November eight, Uh, we'll have our second annual six by
- 2:39Speaker 6: six fundraisers sale and that'll be over at Cooper and
- 2:43Speaker 6: Mill and we'll begin at three o'clock. So, and it's
- 2:48Speaker 6: one of those things that we put out all the
- 2:50Speaker 6: pieces of art soul. If you want the best choice,
- 2:53Speaker 6: you need to be there at three.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Yes, and there are hundreds I guess really.
- 2:58Speaker 6: Well, yes, we had about two hundred and fifty last year.
- 3:03Speaker 6: We're going to have almost four hundred.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Can people still get blank canvases and creators.
- 3:09Speaker 6: If if they hurry, if they hurry, we have yeah,
- 3:15Speaker 6: because they would have to be in by by next week,
- 3:18Speaker 6: no later than Halloween.
- 3:20Speaker 4: Halloween, I think it said twenty seventh on the website.
- 3:23Speaker 4: So yeah, yeah, hurry, hurry, hurry. Right, this is you know,
- 3:29Speaker 4: it's so cool.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Open.
- 3:30Speaker 6: We're open anybody that's interested that thinks they in the
- 3:35Speaker 6: next week they would like to produce a piece of
- 3:39Speaker 6: art that we can offer for sale.
- 3:41Speaker 5: That would be wonderful.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 4: I love And that's whether you're you know, you have
- 3:46Speaker 4: people that are doing it all the time. John Wynn Bloom,
- 3:49Speaker 4: I know he's done some in the past and probably
- 3:52Speaker 4: doing it.
- 3:52Speaker 6: Again, John, And uh, well, actually I brought some samples
- 3:57Speaker 6: today and we can.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Look at dot com or on our Facebook lives.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yes, you can see these beautiful pieces.
- 4:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:08Speaker 6: And we have a big variety of things, you know,
- 4:12Speaker 6: from portrait type work or landscapes or still life, all
- 4:18Speaker 6: of those kinds of things. And then we have some
- 4:20Speaker 6: whimsical things, which is what Stephen Graham has done here.
- 4:26Speaker 6: He's got a little fall Halloween type piece, and we
- 4:31Speaker 6: have let me see here. And then we have this
- 4:38Speaker 6: little piece which is called you are the Beep to
- 4:42Speaker 6: My Boop, which is another little whimsical let me see
- 4:46Speaker 6: that painting.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Oh, that's great, that's great.
- 4:49Speaker 5: A couple of.
- 4:50Speaker 6: Little robots there running across the canvas.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Yes, yes, And Toyota meeting.
- 5:00Speaker 4: This month, they were talking about uh selling robots at
- 5:03Speaker 4: the dealership for too long? Well, hey, and I know
- 5:07Speaker 4: the destl has been talking about that. Yeah, Elon Musk
- 5:11Speaker 4: has dreamed of robots.
- 5:12Speaker 6: I guess most of you probably you'll be coming in
- 5:15Speaker 6: to buy a car and you'll buy a driver.
- 5:18Speaker 1: At the same time.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Obviously the cars are gonna kind of be robots right here.
- 5:23Speaker 4: I'm not quite sure how that will arrive for us.
- 5:25Speaker 4: It's scary to me.
- 5:27Speaker 5: But that's very I.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Think, you know, you think about that. It can help
- 5:30Speaker 4: us with all kinds of things and in our lives
- 5:32Speaker 4: as well.
- 5:33Speaker 5: It does.
- 5:33Speaker 4: It can independent you know, longer independence, uh, you know,
- 5:37Speaker 4: and as we get older in age and you know,
- 5:40Speaker 4: just convenience and being able to manage all these things
- 5:44Speaker 4: we have going on in our lives. But art is
- 5:46Speaker 4: still going to be such an important thing that I
- 5:49Speaker 4: think is kind of a at the heart of people's yeah,
- 5:53Speaker 4: native you know, uh, inspiration.
- 5:56Speaker 6: Yeah, it's an outlet and it gives you a chance
- 5:59Speaker 6: to think about something else. And when you're creating art
- 6:02Speaker 6: or you're and you're concentrating on what it is you're
- 6:06Speaker 6: trying to do, everything else in the world just disappears.
- 6:12Speaker 6: So you get that that kind of little cocoon of
- 6:16Speaker 6: of creative energy. That so and that that that's very
- 6:23Speaker 6: helpful for a lot of people, because people have a
- 6:25Speaker 6: lot of stress in their lives and art is a
- 6:28Speaker 6: good outlet for that.
- 6:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:31Speaker 4: The it's but you are the president of now, and
- 6:36Speaker 4: that's a a lot of responsibility.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Big job.
- 6:40Speaker 5: It is a big job.
- 6:41Speaker 4: I mean, you guys, last few years are kind of
- 6:43Speaker 4: in a way grown up. You've been around a long time, but.
- 6:47Speaker 6: Well, and we've moved more from uh actually from a
- 6:53Speaker 6: member organization almost to a small business because we're we're
- 6:59Speaker 6: doing it's art classes. We do three major workshops each
- 7:04Speaker 6: year there where we bring in artists from other states, or.
- 7:11Speaker 3: When you've got a great one going on right now.
- 7:13Speaker 5: We have a great one going on right now.
- 7:15Speaker 6: Sonya Turpening is doing an oil workshop and started yesterday
- 7:21Speaker 6: and we'll finish up tomorrow.
- 7:23Speaker 3: And how long does that last?
- 7:26Speaker 6: Yeah, it's it's three days, nine to four, so it's
- 7:29Speaker 6: it by four o'clock. You are tired, Yeah, but lots
- 7:35Speaker 6: of things to learn. She is a fantastic artist. She
- 7:39Speaker 6: has a piece out at wool Rock right now. So
- 7:42Speaker 6: if any of you have not been out there, had
- 7:44Speaker 6: a chance to get out there and look at that exhibition,
- 7:47Speaker 6: that's that's a must do before it closes.
- 7:50Speaker 4: It is one of those great things that that Willarocks
- 7:53Speaker 4: come up with in the last decade or so that
- 7:56Speaker 4: draws attention to their the great art that's already.
- 7:59Speaker 5: Out there and been right exactly.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Yeah, kind of creates this showcase for the new artists
- 8:05Speaker 4: in America.
- 8:06Speaker 6: You're contemporary artists. Yeah, that's very true, and what a
- 8:10Speaker 6: beautiful spot. Yeah, you know so, And with that in mind,
- 8:14Speaker 6: I might just quick mention that Woolrock has invited the
- 8:18Speaker 6: Bartlesill Art Association to hold their annual show out there
- 8:24Speaker 6: next March. So our annual show will move from fall
- 8:30Speaker 6: to spring and that will open the first week in
- 8:33Speaker 6: March next year. So people that are artists out there
- 8:37Speaker 6: need to be thinking about what you might want to
- 8:40Speaker 6: create for that for that exhibition.
- 8:43Speaker 5: That'll be a show and sale.
- 8:45Speaker 4: That's awesome, and yeah, mean there is all this stuff
- 8:49Speaker 4: going on for people of all ages. You mentioned the
- 8:52Speaker 4: children's programs, and I think those are some of the
- 8:54Speaker 4: more you.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Know, yeah, more unique and that people just need.
- 8:58Speaker 4: To know about so that they can because kit we
- 9:01Speaker 4: all as kids, you know, we love to play around
- 9:03Speaker 4: with the paints and pastel.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Right.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I remember trying to draw all kinds of things when.
- 9:11Speaker 5: I was a kid, and he probably drew cars.
- 9:13Speaker 3: I drew some cars.
- 9:14Speaker 4: I love to draw houses and floor plans and things
- 9:18Speaker 4: with trees growing out of the house.
- 9:20Speaker 5: Yeah there, Yeah, I was.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I was more of a paint by number probably.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Hey, that is a good place to start.
- 9:28Speaker 6: Absolutely, that teaches you about color and value.
- 9:33Speaker 2: So Yeah, I would try to go outside the lines
- 9:36Speaker 2: a little bit on the paint by number and it
- 9:37Speaker 2: would just turn into this this brown mud looking color.
- 9:41Speaker 1: So I'm not very good at mixing colors.
- 9:43Speaker 4: I go, yeah, well that's but that's how you learn exactly,
- 9:47Speaker 4: make outside exactly.
- 9:50Speaker 5: We all make mistakes and hopefully we learn from them.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Absolutely so, and you know that.
- 9:58Speaker 4: So let's talk about what people that it might not
- 10:01Speaker 4: really be involved in this yet or have this might
- 10:04Speaker 4: spark an interest or they might okay, might want to
- 10:07Speaker 4: have a way to become involved.
- 10:08Speaker 3: There's a way people just they don't know.
- 10:11Speaker 4: What they're interested in doing or what right, what art
- 10:15Speaker 4: form they would want to start with, yes, or maybe
- 10:17Speaker 4: it's one of their children and then there they want
- 10:20Speaker 4: to kind of keep them interested in it.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Yeah, what kind of program?
- 10:23Speaker 6: Well, we have, Uh we have a kids class third
- 10:28Speaker 6: through fifth grade that's on Monday, starting like at four
- 10:31Speaker 6: o'clock and runs till a quarter to six, and then
- 10:35Speaker 6: on Tuesday we have first grade an our class for
- 10:41Speaker 6: first and second graders, and then third through fifth graders
- 10:44Speaker 6: the second hour. On Wednesdays we have watercolor open studio.
- 10:50Speaker 6: So if you're interested in playing around with uh, watercolor
- 10:55Speaker 6: and trying to learn it's it. We have a great
- 10:58Speaker 6: facilitator for that word shop and she does a lesson
- 11:02Speaker 6: the first Wednesday of each month and and.
- 11:06Speaker 5: She'll walk you through it.
- 11:07Speaker 6: She provides the design and then she'll help walk you
- 11:12Speaker 6: through mixing the colors, good getting you know how important
- 11:18Speaker 6: the paper is, the amount of water you use, the
- 11:23Speaker 6: typer brush you use, all those kinds of no people, Yeah,
- 11:29Speaker 6: but watercolors is pretty pretty usier friendly. You could probably
- 11:34Speaker 6: get involved for less than fifty dollars. So, and then
- 11:40Speaker 6: on Thursday, we have what we call Easel Open Studio
- 11:44Speaker 6: and that's primarily oil painters, acrylic painters, pastels, drawing things
- 11:55Speaker 6: like that that you would normally set up on easels,
- 11:58Speaker 6: And we have a facilitator for that too that if
- 12:03Speaker 6: you come and join in and you run into a
- 12:05Speaker 6: problem or you need some advice, we have probably well
- 12:11Speaker 6: Bill Whittie is the one that is facilitating that for us.
- 12:15Speaker 6: So there's help, you know, So if not only the
- 12:20Speaker 6: social aspect of being around other creative people, there's also
- 12:25Speaker 6: some help there, Yes, a little guidance in.
- 12:30Speaker 3: The right so you do maybe learn from your.
- 12:32Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, you do, absolutely.
- 12:35Speaker 6: And then of course we have special events beyond that,
- 12:40Speaker 6: but that's pretty much our weekly schedule.
- 12:42Speaker 4: And you can check out all these events online at
- 12:45Speaker 4: your website or Facebook.
- 12:47Speaker 6: I know you, Yeah, we have uh, we have a
- 12:50Speaker 6: Bartlesville Art Association page that if you're interested, uh, you
- 12:57Speaker 6: have to become a member of that, but that's pretty easy.
- 13:00Speaker 6: And then of course our website and everything. If you
- 13:04Speaker 6: want to register for a class, that's all online, so
- 13:07Speaker 6: it's pretty easy to and.
- 13:09Speaker 4: There are memberships available, yes, membership have to be a
- 13:12Speaker 4: member to attend these.
- 13:14Speaker 6: Well, the open studio, you need to be a member
- 13:19Speaker 6: to come to that. Annual membership is forty dollars at all,
- 13:24Speaker 6: so it's it's pretty inexpensive. And you can do a
- 13:28Speaker 6: family membership for fifty dollars. And so if you have
- 13:33Speaker 6: a teenager or someone like that that would like to
- 13:37Speaker 6: come to that open studio, if we have some homeschoolers
- 13:41Speaker 6: that stop in.
- 13:45Speaker 5: That, you know, it's it's very doable.
- 13:49Speaker 4: And all this is happening at a location too. You
- 13:52Speaker 4: guys have your own place.
- 13:54Speaker 6: Now right right, we're over at two seventeen Comanche.
- 13:57Speaker 5: Actually just at across the street.
- 14:01Speaker 6: When I was heading this way, I thought Oh my gosh,
- 14:03Speaker 6: why didn't I just walk? And yeah, so it's it's
- 14:12Speaker 6: very accessible. We have pretty good parking. You know, everything
- 14:18Speaker 6: is right there. So I try and keep all my
- 14:22Speaker 6: supplies in a box that has wheels, and yeah, it
- 14:27Speaker 6: just makes it easier. Because how did this Well, I started,
- 14:34Speaker 6: you know, a typical kid, you start drawing and tinkering
- 14:39Speaker 6: and doing things. And then when I went to college,
- 14:42Speaker 6: I studied art at that time, and then I got
- 14:46Speaker 6: off into arts administration, so I was a director of
- 14:50Speaker 6: an arts council, two or three arts councils, and then
- 14:53Speaker 6: when we moved to Bartlesville, I was the program manager
- 14:56Speaker 6: down at the community Center, so I did arts encounters
- 14:59Speaker 6: in the Indian summer. Than when I retired, congratulations, Yes,
- 15:06Speaker 6: I got glued that paint brush in my hand, so
- 15:10Speaker 6: I got back to really doing the creating.
- 15:14Speaker 5: It's I mean, it was.
- 15:17Speaker 6: It was always fun to be involved in all of
- 15:20Speaker 6: those other aspects of art, whether it was theater or
- 15:23Speaker 6: music or or all those things.
- 15:26Speaker 5: And I really really enjoyed that. But I love painting.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yeah that's good, Yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 5: It is.
- 15:34Speaker 4: And you've got again this fundraising event coming up in
- 15:39Speaker 4: a couple of weeks. On November eighth. Let's talk about
- 15:43Speaker 4: about this and show.
- 15:45Speaker 5: All right, well, here's one.
- 15:48Speaker 6: This is a little landscape that was done by Joe
- 15:51Speaker 6: Sears and he's got probably half a dozen pieces that
- 15:55Speaker 6: he's turned in and we're really tickled to have that.
- 16:01Speaker 5: This is a little watercolor. Will have a few.
- 16:07Speaker 6: Christmas holiday kind of pieces. And this is done by
- 16:13Speaker 6: Cheryl Bryan. She's the one that facilitates the watercolor open
- 16:18Speaker 6: studio and you can tell from this that she does
- 16:22Speaker 6: some really fun things.
- 16:23Speaker 1: It is beautiful.
- 16:26Speaker 6: We have Susan Comido has turned in this red bird,
- 16:31Speaker 6: which is a really fun piece. And Bill Whitti has
- 16:39Speaker 6: created oh gosh, probably a half a dozen of these
- 16:44Speaker 6: beautiful butterflies, some monarchs, yes, and those flying around right.
- 16:51Speaker 6: And then of course we have some abstract pieces and
- 16:57Speaker 6: this is done by Laurie Roll and there will be
- 17:00Speaker 6: probably a dozen or more options for one of Lori's pieces.
- 17:06Speaker 6: So yeah, we have all kinds of fun things here.
- 17:11Speaker 4: That's that is two or three hundred pieces of art.
- 17:14Speaker 4: All they're all sixty six dollars.
- 17:17Speaker 6: They're all sixty six dollars. We are especially thankful to
- 17:21Speaker 6: Phillip sixty six for sponsoring our event and that worked
- 17:26Speaker 6: out really well to use the sixty six.
- 17:30Speaker 5: But yeah, we will have we may have.
- 17:33Speaker 6: Over four hundred pieces and they'll all be up at once.
- 17:39Speaker 3: So they get those special ones at three.
- 17:42Speaker 5: Coper and Mill.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Yes, and truly unique art event and all the proceeds
- 17:48Speaker 4: go to the Art Association and help you with this
- 17:51Speaker 4: ongoing programming and your facility and things.
- 17:54Speaker 6: Yeah, and then hopefully in the near future will be
- 18:00Speaker 6: able to have a building of our own where we
- 18:02Speaker 6: can expand some of it. We'd like to expand, like
- 18:05Speaker 6: into some printmaking, into some ceramics and some different programs
- 18:11Speaker 6: that we have a great facility right now. It's it's
- 18:16Speaker 6: just a little bit limited for some of the art
- 18:24Speaker 6: mediums that take more equipment. Yeah, and it works really
- 18:29Speaker 6: well for for everything we're doing now. We actually we
- 18:35Speaker 6: love it there.
- 18:36Speaker 3: That's good. Well, it's great. You need to have a place.
- 18:38Speaker 4: I know you've kind of grown through a couple right
- 18:42Speaker 4: right time at the n ex at the Price Tower.
- 18:45Speaker 4: I was involved in that organization. We were sorry that
- 18:48Speaker 4: that ended, very very.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Sorry that we were unable to keep doing that. Yeah,
- 18:52Speaker 3: it was one of those things.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Well it is, but you guys really did keep evolving
- 18:59Speaker 4: after Yes, that seems to made you stronger, if anything.
- 19:02Speaker 5: I think, and well it did.
- 19:05Speaker 6: It did help us really focus on what it what
- 19:08Speaker 6: it is that we're trying to do. And yeah, so
- 19:12Speaker 6: our basically our mission is to provide educational opportunities for
- 19:20Speaker 6: people that want to explore the arts and to be
- 19:24Speaker 6: a showcase for the artists in Bartlesville and in the region.
- 19:29Speaker 5: We have a lot of.
- 19:33Speaker 6: People that have donated pieces for our art sale, like
- 19:39Speaker 6: in the Tulsa area, Oklahoma City area. We've got a
- 19:43Speaker 6: few from other states, so we've got a pretty broad reach.
- 19:48Speaker 5: And some are real professional artists, yes, they are absolutely.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Many amateurs and people that are just inspired by what
- 19:55Speaker 4: you do and and love to create things.
- 19:58Speaker 6: One of the more exciting things is is a couple
- 20:00Speaker 6: of our board members got together with our teachers down
- 20:04Speaker 6: at the high school and the ap group decided they
- 20:10Speaker 6: wanted to get involved the ap art students and they've
- 20:14Speaker 6: created fifty five six by sixes to help promote.
- 20:20Speaker 5: The arts in Bartlestell. Is incredible, It is incredible.
- 20:24Speaker 6: We are so thankful for Aaron Rakes and and her
- 20:27Speaker 6: support and Cindy Ray and DIDR Morgan that pulled that together.
- 20:34Speaker 6: It's yeah, we're excited to see.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Congratulations and all the great stuff going on.
- 20:40Speaker 5: Well, thank you a lot of credit for.
- 20:42Speaker 3: It's inspiring to me.
- 20:44Speaker 4: And you know, I know that people will want to
- 20:46Speaker 4: come out to your event again on November eighth at
- 20:48Speaker 4: three pm at Cooper and Mill, Brewing a truly unique art.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Event, one of a kind art that you can own,
- 20:55Speaker 3: Rush South and enjoy it.
- 20:57Speaker 4: And that all this, all the proceeds go to support
- 21:02Speaker 4: what we've been talking about. You know, I think that's
- 21:06Speaker 4: it's it's one of those things we all kind of
- 21:08Speaker 4: have some of that in us, I think, and this
- 21:11Speaker 4: gives you an outlet to go and find that Inspirationally.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I need to take some of those lessons. Well my
- 21:19Speaker 1: colors anymore.
- 21:20Speaker 6: Okay, So we do have one other class that I teach.
- 21:24Speaker 6: It's called No Talent Tuesday.
- 21:29Speaker 3: I would fit right in.
- 21:31Speaker 6: And and it's for people that want to try something
- 21:36Speaker 6: but they say, oh, I can't do that because.
- 21:39Speaker 5: I don't have any talent.
- 21:40Speaker 6: And I said, hey, it's not a problem. Come to
- 21:43Speaker 6: this class and we'll help you figure it out. So
- 21:47Speaker 6: I have some people that come and we do drawing
- 21:50Speaker 6: and then I've got a couple of ladies that come
- 21:52Speaker 6: and we do well. Actually, last time we created some Snowman.
- 21:58Speaker 5: And I and painted some things.
- 22:01Speaker 1: You know, I'm all about no talent. I mean every
- 22:04Speaker 1: day I work is a no talent day. Okay.
- 22:09Speaker 4: You know that's one of the things that the dealership,
- 22:11Speaker 4: you realize after a while, is everybody has, Yes, they do.
- 22:15Speaker 3: It's about finding it, tapping into it.
- 22:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:18Speaker 4: You know, you're what inspires you and what kind of
- 22:21Speaker 4: drives you forward, the goals that you have. You can
- 22:24Speaker 4: find those things and you know that's we try to
- 22:26Speaker 4: make that the theme of the show every week.
- 22:29Speaker 6: And once you kind of identify those things, you know,
- 22:33Speaker 6: it's it's development. You know, it's just like playing basketball.
- 22:39Speaker 6: The first time you handle the ball, you're not going
- 22:41Speaker 6: to make a three pointer. You know, you practice and
- 22:45Speaker 6: you practice if that's inside and it needs to come out.
- 22:49Speaker 5: The more you practice, the better you'll be.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Totally. There's a book called Mastery.
- 22:55Speaker 4: My uncle read about ten thousand repetitions of some what
- 23:00Speaker 4: it takes.
- 23:00Speaker 3: To really make it. And you know, something that's second
- 23:04Speaker 3: nature to you.
- 23:05Speaker 6: And so when you get to be sixty five and
- 23:07Speaker 6: you think about ten thousand hours and you start dividing
- 23:10Speaker 6: them up and it's like, oh my goodness, if I'm
- 23:14Speaker 6: going to do that, I have to paint four paintings
- 23:17Speaker 6: a week.
- 23:20Speaker 4: Oh well, that's you must be getting close. So that congratulation,
- 23:25Speaker 4: thank you on everything going on.
- 23:27Speaker 6: We have been painting our hearts out on these little
- 23:31Speaker 6: six by sixes and they really are fun.
- 23:34Speaker 1: They look beautiful.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Yeah, well, everybody, come check that out, support the Art Association.
- 23:40Speaker 4: We're really proud to have you on the show that
- 23:44Speaker 4: Thank you very much. Come teach us about what you

- 23:59Speaker 4: a great place live.
- 24:00Speaker 6: Yeah, we've been here thirty years now and we love it.

- 24:05Speaker 4: It's a you know for a small town or a
- 24:08Speaker 4: big small city, I guess.
- 24:12Speaker 7: Wonderful opportunities, great opportunities wherever you are in your whatever
- 24:17Speaker 7: point in your life you are, whatever your your passion is,
- 24:20Speaker 7: there's there's a place to go connect with other people
- 24:23Speaker 7: that are interested in that.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Yes, And there's resources to help people who need help.
- 24:28Speaker 3: And and for our kids, you know, to find that
- 24:32Speaker 3: road forward for them.
- 24:34Speaker 4: So many great organizations and anyway, thank you for being
- 24:38Speaker 4: one of them. And you know you're volunteership but at
- 24:41Speaker 4: the heart association because you don't get paid a lot, no, but.
- 24:46Speaker 5: The benefits are great. The benefits are great.

- 25:31Speaker 4: doing this a long time for ninety five years in total,
- 25:34Speaker 4: incredibly and we we know, you know, as we've kind
- 25:38Speaker 4: of gotten smaller and the world gets bigger and we're
- 25:42Speaker 4: you know, our competition or these big, multi multi dealership
- 25:46Speaker 4: organizations and we just have one here in Borrowsville. That's
- 25:49Speaker 4: really We're focused on our community and love supporting organizations
- 25:54Speaker 4: like the Borrolsville Art Association and you know, that's that's
