- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, the first round is in the books. That
- 0:02Speaker 1: means we are on to the quarterfinals. Bama, Indiana, Oregon, Texas, Tech, Ole,
- 0:07Speaker 1: mess Georgia and Miami. Ohio State takeyo. We're gonna start
- 0:11Speaker 1: there the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas on New Year's Eve.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Ohio State and Miami again the rematch of the two
- 0:18Speaker 1: thousand and two national championship. Ohio State Miami.
- 0:22Speaker 2: What's your thoughts. I gotta go with Ohio State.
- 0:24Speaker 3: And as much as I love Miami and I think
- 0:27Speaker 3: they can come in and really throw a monkey rinch
- 0:30Speaker 3: in the whole system. I believe in Matt Patricia's defense
- 0:34Speaker 3: and he's gonna make sure he takes away Madlicatton, Melicott,
- 0:38Speaker 3: Tony on the offensive side from Miami. So I think
- 0:42Speaker 3: that's the biggest thing that was that's gonna be taken away.
- 0:45Speaker 2: And then also Carson Beck.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I believe that Ohio State's defense is gonna make Carson
- 0:51Speaker 3: Beck turn the football over. I like Ohio State.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Ohio State, true national title contender, talent all over the
- 0:58Speaker 1: field to stud wide receiver, offensive and defensive lines, and
- 1:01Speaker 1: now motivated after a loss in that Big Ten final.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Absolutely they should come in here with their hair on fire,
- 1:07Speaker 4: understanding what's at stake here. I think they're gonna win
- 1:09Speaker 4: the ball game as well. I got Ohio State. I
- 1:12Speaker 4: think that julians saying is gonna understand that he's got
- 1:14Speaker 4: to get the ball to those playmakers early and often.
- 1:17Speaker 4: And I think personally, Ohio State has the number one
- 1:19Speaker 4: defense in the country and it's gonna be hard to
- 1:21Speaker 4: score points on them.
- 1:22Speaker 1: If I'm Miami, Takio already got to weigh in on
- 1:24Speaker 1: Texas Tech and Oregon. That is the Orange Bowl in
- 1:27Speaker 1: Miami on New Year's Day. Here is the tael the
- 1:30Speaker 1: tape three to zero all time Oregon is against Texas Tech.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Last time they faced off twenty twenty three, Oregon went
- 1:38Speaker 1: into Lubbock and won thirty eight to thirty vic I
- 1:42Speaker 1: already heard Takiyo say, what are you picking in this game?
- 1:45Speaker 2: Man? I'm gonna be honest.
- 1:46Speaker 4: After what I saw tonight, I'm still optimistic about what
- 1:49Speaker 4: Oregon can do offensively and Dante more and the things
- 1:52Speaker 4: that he did, so I'm picking Oregon.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I think Oregon.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Has the easiest route to the championship when you look
- 1:59Speaker 4: at the Bracts, and I'm going to Oregon and Dante
- 2:01Speaker 4: Moore and that offense.
- 2:03Speaker 1: The interesting thing is Joey Maguire spoke during the week
- 2:06Speaker 1: about how last year all the teams that had to
- 2:09Speaker 1: buy they all lost in this round last year. I
- 2:13Speaker 1: know you spoke to some people at Georgia. How are
- 2:15Speaker 1: they preparing to deal with that this year?
- 2:17Speaker 2: Well, you got to understand this. Kirby Smart.
- 2:20Speaker 5: He has this meticulous preparation process that he goes through.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Now here's the difference from last year.
- 2:26Speaker 5: A little more mature team last year, younger team this year.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Banged up this year.
- 2:31Speaker 5: So it's a different approach because now at this point.
- 2:35Speaker 2: They just want to get healthy.
- 2:37Speaker 5: They want to They go through this process of meetings,
- 2:40Speaker 5: walk through yes, back to meetings, walk throughs again, and
- 2:44Speaker 5: it's highly intensive. But the idea is to put you
- 2:47Speaker 5: through these mental hurdles without killing your body. It's late
- 2:51Speaker 5: in the season, yep. I mean they want to make
- 2:52Speaker 5: a run. They got to be as fresh as possible.
- 2:54Speaker 1: A champ staying on you the Rose Bowl and Pasadena
- 2:57Speaker 1: that's also going to be on New Year's Day. Indiana
- 3:00Speaker 1: and Alabama. Kurt Signetti used to work at Alabama. Alabama's
- 3:04Speaker 1: coach Kaylen Debor used to work at Indiana.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Do you think about these two teams?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Indiana the number one team in the country, which way
- 3:11Speaker 1: to Allen on this one?
- 3:13Speaker 5: Well, based off history, I'd be a little nervous about
- 3:15Speaker 5: Alabama if I was Indiana, But Indiana's a different team.
- 3:18Speaker 5: I think their defense proved that they could stop some
- 3:21Speaker 5: of the top player playmakers in the country.
- 3:23Speaker 2: They know they got four wideouts they got to deal.
- 3:25Speaker 5: With and a running game that's trying to get going
- 3:28Speaker 5: with Alabama.
- 3:29Speaker 2: But I got Indiana. I'm going to Alabama on this one.
- 3:32Speaker 4: I think upfront, the game is run by the horses
- 3:35Speaker 4: up front on both sides of the ball. And what
- 3:37Speaker 4: I saw in that game against Oklahoma is they really
- 3:40Speaker 4: dominated up front, anchored down, especially defensively, and stopped whatever
- 3:44Speaker 4: Oklahoma was trying to do. And I think Mendoza isn't
- 3:48Speaker 4: as mobile as Materier, so he's going to be a
- 3:50Speaker 4: sitting duck. And if they can get back into that
- 3:52Speaker 4: backfield and cause havoc.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I think Alabama's going to do a good job of
- 3:55Speaker 2: keeping them intact.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Georgia Old Mess is going to be the Sugar Bowl
- 3:59Speaker 1: in New York Orleans.
- 4:00Speaker 2: That of course, is on.
- 4:01Speaker 1: The nighttime of New Year's Day, Gunnar Stockton. They faced
- 4:06Speaker 1: off earlier this year. Ole Miss had the lead up
- 4:09Speaker 1: nine going in the fourth quarter, did not score, got
- 4:12Speaker 1: outscored seventeen to nothing. They always like to say, it's
- 4:16Speaker 1: hard to be the team twice, which way to you lean, Georgia,
- 4:18Speaker 1: Old Miss?
- 4:19Speaker 2: How bout damn damn right, man, damn right, let's go.
- 4:22Speaker 2: I always wanted to say that.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Nah.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Look, let's be real when you look at this matchup.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Old Miss came out and scored the first five possessions
- 4:36Speaker 3: of the game, and so like, you can't play any better.
- 4:40Speaker 3: And Lane Kiffin is gone, And I think Lane kiffen
- 4:43Speaker 3: his superpowers are. Yeah, I'll have you prepared, but it's
- 4:47Speaker 3: an internal clock that he understands and knows. It's a
- 4:51Speaker 3: timeliness that I can call certain plays. He's not there anymore.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Ken Charlie weis junior. Can't he replace that? And so
- 4:59Speaker 3: for me, I thought they played the best game that
- 5:01Speaker 3: they possibly could. Still came up short. They feel short
- 5:05Speaker 3: in the fourth quarter, could not get a stop on
- 5:07Speaker 3: the defensive side. I'm picking the Dolts with this.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Go dogs, and Lane Kiffin made himself two hundred and
- 5:13Speaker 1: fifty thousand dollars today, which is you know, like I.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Said, it's a good agent right there. That's a great agent.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Also tweeted, congrassed all the coaches and players, especially coach
- 5:22Speaker 1: Golding seeing his two boys on the sideline. Great win today,
- 5:26Speaker 1: beat Georgia in the boot. What let's take a look
- 5:29Speaker 1: at some of our primetime players and who were looking
- 5:31Speaker 1: at for the second round. Chev I'm gonna start all
- 5:34Speaker 1: the way to the left there, D'Angelo Ponds. You threw
- 5:37Speaker 1: this in the group chat. Not a name everyone's talking about.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Why has he got your attention?
- 5:41Speaker 5: Well, he's five nine, one seventy, But let's not get
- 5:45Speaker 5: caught up.
- 5:45Speaker 2: In his statue.
- 5:46Speaker 5: The kid is tough, and I'm gonna show you three
- 5:49Speaker 5: plays what he did give up catches, so young corners
- 5:53Speaker 5: understand it's okay when a receiver catches the ball. The
- 5:56Speaker 5: only thing that matters you get his ass on the ground.
- 5:58Speaker 2: So he has really tough.
- 6:00Speaker 5: He reminds me of two of my nineteen ninety nine classmates,
- 6:03Speaker 5: a mix of dre Bli and Antoine Winfield making players
- 6:08Speaker 5: and tackling.
- 6:09Speaker 2: This kid is tough.
- 6:10Speaker 5: He's somebody to watch now he needs to go. Think
- 6:13Speaker 5: about these four names, Jeremy Bernard, Isaiah Harden, Ryan Williams,
- 6:18Speaker 5: and freshman Lottie Brooks, because boy, he got his hands
- 6:22Speaker 5: full with Alabama.
- 6:23Speaker 2: They are gonna be tough. I think he can handle
- 6:26Speaker 2: it them.
- 6:26Speaker 1: We tried to get a campaign to send Jacob Rodriguez
- 6:29Speaker 1: to New York. Instead, he won the Negersky, the Lombardi.
- 6:32Speaker 1: I think he won the buck Gets as well. Big
- 6:34Speaker 1: twelve Defensive Player of the Year to Keyo, one of
- 6:36Speaker 1: your favorite players in college football.
- 6:38Speaker 3: My favorite player in college football just stashed Jacob Rodriguez.
- 6:42Speaker 3: And let's start with this play here, smart enough to
- 6:44Speaker 3: recognize to tackle.
- 6:46Speaker 2: In the guard pulling.
- 6:47Speaker 3: He gets in the hip pocket, runs down the running
- 6:50Speaker 3: back from the backside. And look, this is film studying
- 6:53Speaker 3: right here. He understands motion coming across, He changes the defense,
- 6:58Speaker 3: puts him into his own I stay straight ahead and
- 7:01Speaker 3: he knows this. Receivers coming back across. He sticks his
- 7:05Speaker 3: foot in the ground, comes straight downhill.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Boom.
- 7:08Speaker 1: And I don't know if he missed a tackle all season.
- 7:11Speaker 3: I don't believe he missed the tackle. But this is
- 7:13Speaker 3: probably one of the most impressive ones understanding, just having
- 7:18Speaker 3: the icumen of understanding the zone conception. He doesn't need
- 7:23Speaker 3: him to play and just jumping it bro correct like
- 7:25Speaker 3: this dude, forced fumbles, got interceptions, tackles for losses.
- 7:30Speaker 2: It's not by accident. He was the player of the
- 7:32Speaker 2: year in the Big Twelve.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Everyone likes to talk about Jeremiah Smith, but Cardinal Tate
- 7:36Speaker 1: being mocked right now is a top five thick in
- 7:38Speaker 1: the NFL drive.
- 7:39Speaker 4: And I don't think he was anywhere close to that
- 7:42Speaker 4: coming into the season. I think he was looked at
- 7:43Speaker 4: as a solid receiver next to Jeremiah Smith. But boy
- 7:47Speaker 4: has he gotten opportunities and made the best of them
- 7:49Speaker 4: all year long. Wo impress me to moses him just
- 7:51Speaker 4: going deep and make high pointing the ball and finishing
- 7:55Speaker 4: off impressive catches with touchdowns. But here he is in
- 7:58Speaker 4: the slot, which is gonna make him that much more touted.
- 8:01Speaker 2: At the next level.
- 8:02Speaker 4: You're gonna need to play inside and outside, understanding how
- 8:05Speaker 4: to run routes against nickels and safeties, but again using
- 8:08Speaker 4: the leverage going outside of that, outside of that linebacker,
- 8:12Speaker 4: cutting across the face and just going up and making plays.
- 8:15Speaker 2: We need this in two more angles.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Because he just understands how to go up high, point
- 8:18Speaker 4: the football, make catches in traffic, helmet, comes off, still
- 8:23Speaker 4: comes down with the football.
- 8:24Speaker 2: He just played with a tenacity.
- 8:26Speaker 4: While Jeremiah was seeing a lot of coverage and seeing
- 8:28Speaker 4: a lot of double teams, he really took advantage of
- 8:30Speaker 4: his single coverages on the backside.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And the team at Ohio State faced for the Big
- 8:34Speaker 1: Ten Championship Indiana and Fernando Mendoza, the Heisman Trophy winner
- 8:39Speaker 1: eight total touchdowns, one interception in the less three games.
- 8:43Speaker 2: He took a shot in.
- 8:45Speaker 1: The beginning of that Big Ten Championship game that I
- 8:47Speaker 1: think everyone.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Looked and went, oh, no, he might not be back.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Brother comes in for one snap, he goes back out
- 8:53Speaker 1: there and plays a nearly flawless game. Formando Mendoza to
- 8:58Speaker 1: me when I hear him, gives me Andrew luck vibes. Yeah,
- 9:03Speaker 1: complete brainiac. Knows how to diagnose a defense, but also
- 9:06Speaker 1: has the physical tools, the mobility to open receivers down
- 9:09Speaker 1: the field, and his accuracy is special.
- 9:12Speaker 4: It's really impressive when you watch him throw the football around.
- 9:14Speaker 4: He throws it to spots where only his receiver can
- 9:17Speaker 4: get it, and if he doesn't get it, it's gonna
- 9:19Speaker 4: go out of bounds. He's not turning the ball over
- 9:21Speaker 4: and that's what's been most impressive, him hitting his receivers
- 9:24Speaker 4: in stride on time, especially that last throw to Amari
- 9:28Speaker 4: Cooper to win that game a couple of weeks ago.
- 9:30Speaker 2: That was very, very impressive.
- 9:32Speaker 1: We have some special quarterback play in the final eight
- 9:35Speaker 1: here for the college football playoffs. They're either guys you
- 9:38Speaker 1: can rely on or guys like Dante Mora Mendoza. You go,
- 9:41Speaker 1: I could see him being special to the next level
- 9:43Speaker 1: as well.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yeah, without a doubt.
- 9:45Speaker 5: I mean, look, we are stacked with quarterbacks, but we
- 9:48Speaker 5: forgot to mention one guy on that string, Gunner Stockton
- 9:51Speaker 5: talking and he is surrounded by a talented Georgia team.
- 9:54Speaker 5: But I've been so impressed with how he's just kept
- 9:57Speaker 5: just kept his head on straight hoys throughout the playoffs,
- 10:01Speaker 5: I mean throughout the season and ready for the playoffs.
- 10:04Speaker 5: I'm looking forward to seeing how he handles the pressure
- 10:06Speaker 5: going forward, because last year I'm sure it's one he
- 10:08Speaker 5: wants to forget, and getting a win in the playoffs
- 10:10Speaker 5: is gonna make him forget all about last year and
- 10:13Speaker 5: look forward to the next season
