- 0:13Welcome to the divine five one five odd
- 0:16podcast. Here is this week's devotional.
- 0:21Hello, and welcome to divine five one five.
- 0:25Well, we've come to the end of our
- 0:27strengthened at the throne series.
- 0:29This is episode four where we're going to
- 0:32be talking about how to endure life's hardest
- 0:35moments.
- 0:37And to do that, we're gonna be
- 0:40showcasing
- 0:41how
- 0:41prayer
- 0:42strengthen Jesus.
- 0:45Key scripture for today comes from Hebrews five
- 0:48and seven
- 0:49and reads as follows.
- 0:51During the days of Jesus' life on earth,
- 0:54he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent
- 0:57cries and tears,
- 0:59and he was heard because of his reverent
- 1:03submission.
- 1:06Now all through this series, we've been talking
- 1:09about
- 1:09the who, what, whys, and where's of how
- 1:12Jesus used prayer
- 1:14to to stay strengthened at the throne.
- 1:17Today, we wanna talk about
- 1:19how
- 1:19prayer did not remove the difficulty from Jesus'
- 1:23life, but it did strengthen him to endure
- 1:26it.
- 1:28Through prayer, Jesus remained aligned with the father's
- 1:31will.
- 1:32If you recall in a previous episode,
- 1:35the scripture
- 1:36said, not my will, but your will be
- 1:39done.
- 1:40In essence, Jesus was saying, I really don't
- 1:43want to do this,
- 1:45but because
- 1:46I want to be in obedience
- 1:48and do your will because I love you,
- 1:51father,
- 1:52I will do whatever you whatever you say.
- 1:57And so we see that through prayer,
- 2:00he found the strength
- 2:02to walk through suffering
- 2:04with a purpose.
- 2:06Through prayer, he stayed anchored in obedience
- 2:09even when the path
- 2:12was painful,
- 2:14and this same strength is available
- 2:17to us.
- 2:20We don't get to choose what comes to
- 2:22us, but we can choose
- 2:24how we deal with it.
- 2:26And the most comforting part of it all
- 2:29is knowing that we don't have to go
- 2:32through
- 2:32pain
- 2:33aimlessly.
- 2:35It has a purpose,
- 2:36but more importantly,
- 2:38the God
- 2:40that loves us and the Messiah of our
- 2:43salvation is right there with us in the
- 2:45midst of it to walk us through
- 2:48whatever the fire is.
- 2:50Prayer does not always change the circumstance
- 2:53immediately,
- 2:55but it does change the heart that faces
- 2:58it.
- 2:59It strengthens courage.
- 3:01It steadies faith,
- 3:03and it reminds us that we are never
- 3:06walking through hardships
- 3:10alone. When we kneel at the throne before
- 3:12God,
- 3:13we will always
- 3:14rise stronger when we leave whatever we're being
- 3:17faced with there.
- 3:20Being strengthened at the throne, we can endure
- 3:23what once felt
- 3:25impossible.
- 3:27Let's pray.
- 3:29Heavenly father,
- 3:31strengthen me through prayer when life becomes difficult.
- 3:36Help me trust your presence even when the
- 3:38path is hard.
- 3:40Build endurance in my faith and give my
- 3:43heart courage.
- 3:45Let my strength come from time spent with
- 3:47you.
- 3:49Thank
- 3:50you for giving us the tools and the
- 3:53strategies
- 3:55to be strengthened
- 3:56to face whatever it is
- 3:59in life.
