A man was shot multiple times outside the Brown Derby Tavern in Garland after a heated argument that escalated when Paul Maravilla allegedly pulled out a gun and fired between five and seven shots. Witnesses say the shooting began when Maravilla made inappropriate comments about Black women, prompting the victim to confront him — which triggered the violence. The victim, who took three to five bullets, is now stable in the hospital.
