- 0:01welcome to multiple nerdgasm your destination for all things
- 0:08nerdy well I'm not doing the intro so you're on your own mine if I take it no
- 0:12please cuz I actually think you know we we usually have a pretty high energy
- 0:15intro from you Dave and um I actually think maybe our listeners would enjoy a
- 0:18little change of pace so if you'll permit me oh please from Sydney this is
- 0:24multiple nerdgasm it's 35 past the hour and you're listening to nerd talk with
- 0:31me here is Luke Dave and Matt and of course me Dan it's a nice night and uh
- 0:37we're settling in for some chat how was that that's pretty good
- 0:43that was uh that was quite fantastic and I and I must say I feel like just
- 0:47bringing it down in not as well just uh I I want to bring that level down as
- 0:50well so sure down further than that yeah yeah so I'm just going to I'm just going
- 0:56to relax talk about dicks or maybe have a talk about some penises or something
- 1:00yeah just nice and easy so what else is
- 1:03new so Robin Williams is
- 1:08dead yeah yeah that's true so I'll say this just a reminder back for those of
- 1:15you who haven't been listening for very long uh other celebrity suicides we've
- 1:19covered on this include um Tony Scott and we mocked him
- 1:26mercilessly and that's a man we all quite admire so
- 1:30[ __ ] I mean are we just gonna we just gonna give it to Robin Williams just
- 1:35gonna give it to him are we or you don't admire Williams at
- 1:39all well you know Tony Scott's more more in my field you know sure yeah well he
- 1:44was but uh in my field I mean at the bottom of my
- 1:49Harbor you mean um diving I don't think uh Rob Williams is in our field Dan he's
- 1:54more in our hearts in our hearts um I like Robin Williams no I liked him how
- 2:00could you how could you not like Robin Williams I mean really I mean even if
- 2:05even if the last 50 movies of his weren't very good I mean well to be
- 2:09honest I think the early stuff wasn't that good either I mean I I rewatched
- 2:13Mrs dfire on the day he died and when you watch that kind of 20 30 years on
- 2:19it's it's a bit [ __ ] it's it's really awful it it doesn't make any sense like
- 2:25there's no logic to well D it's a guy that
- 2:30like has lost his kids so dresses up as a maid to to to spend time with his
- 2:35family I mean the concept itself is ridiculous that's true but even within
- 2:39it the stuff that he does as the maid is so out of character for who he is when
- 2:44he's not the maid you got have fight him would you terrible ma terrible maid for
- 2:49example I mean there's this one part the first night he's being a maid he is an
- 2:54absolute prick to the kids absolute prick like outof character prick and you
- 2:59know I guess you could say it's so that the kids would hate the maid and ask for
- 3:03the dad back but they don't say that that's why it is you just got to go
- 3:06along with the fact that as miss out fire he's a [ __ ] to those kids on the
- 3:09first day right then he goes downstairs to cook dinner sets fire to himself and
- 3:14the kitchen starts screaming like screaming right none of those kids bad
- 3:19an eyelid at that like even if you've got a made you hate if you hear a blood
- 3:24curdling scream from downstairs you check that out right he then uh orders
- 3:30dinner in right M it gets delivered he then sets the table with their stuff and
- 3:37this takeaway then everyone comes in and is blown away that he's cooked dinner
- 3:41was like a he he is the maid he he is supposed to cook the dinner
- 3:46right also they're looking you can argue okay they're looking at the table wear
- 3:50it's their table wear he's in their house right right thirdly why do the
- 3:56kids give a [ __ ] how nice the dinner looks like it it's so
- 4:01nonsensical so I'm glad he's dead I'm guessing there won't be a
- 4:06sequel now though no well I don't know unless one of his kids is all grown up
- 4:12and gets separated and then has to do the very same
- 4:16thing yeah oh that could work y he goes into his dad's attic or something and
- 4:22finds the mask after his dad's suicide that's inevitable really no if
- 4:28you watch that film and then you heard that that character had committed
- 4:30suicide you'd be like yeah well that makes sense sense have you seen the the
- 4:36re-edited trailer that makes it look like it's a psychological
- 4:40Thriller No really could you could you put that in the show notes that would I
- 4:45Will's just put the audio straight in yeah all right yeah no well it it's the
- 4:51trailer for Mrs outfire with new music and re-edited so that it's just the
- 4:55story about this [ __ ] creepy guy who gets kicked out of his house and can't
- 5:01see his kids and so he stalks them yeah that's a woman that's what happens yeah
- 5:06I know that is what happens but it's it's yeah like I said just the music and
- 5:11the and the edits have been made to make it works really well I'll put it in the
- 5:14Shan notes well I mean I'm I I I liked Robin Williams I really liked him um I
- 5:19was really really sad uh that that's the way he went out um yeah in fact one of
- 5:25my favorite films from Robin Williams is um a film called What Dreams May Come
- 5:30MH um it's quite a powerful film it's it's about his
- 5:35um about him going into the Afterlife to search for his his wife and he finds out
- 5:40because she killed herself um that she's in hell so he has to go to hell to try
- 5:45and find her and this is after he dies of a car crash a little creepy now that
- 5:49uh it's actually it's actually really uh beautifully shot it's it's it's it looks
- 5:54amazing um I saw it I think it's from the 9s uh 98 or 99 um but it's a really
- 6:00powerful film um it's one of my favorites that along with 1 Hour Photo
- 6:05oh yeah oh yeah I mean like not necessarily his comedic roles he was the
- 6:09best in I found because I mean Robin Williams being comedic is you know Robin
- 6:13Williams being comedic but um some of his um some of his more serious roles I
- 6:17really enjoyed um da you know that one hour photo was directed by Mark romanik
- 6:22who does the N each nails videos yes yes I did yeah yeah I was really surprised
- 6:26by that um yeah it's it's just uh it's a it's a great film 1 Hour Photo it's
- 6:32really creepy and uh who could forget
- 6:35Flubber of course and Jumanji Jumanji death to smoochi which I quite enjoyed
- 6:42look I I actually met Robin Williams once and I can say with almost complete
- 6:48certainty that he didn't really like me so uh there's that when did you meet him
- 6:53I met him at the opening of Bicentennial Man right and I was working at Fox
- 6:58Studios and they asked if he was to go down there to kind of make it look like
- 7:01a lot of people were really excited about the opening of by Centennial man
- 7:05right and uh he was a great guy he sat outside and and chatted and and uh they
- 7:10were telling him Robin you got to come in the movie's about to start and he was
- 7:13like no my fans are out here and just wanted to stay in chat which was awesome
- 7:17um I told him that I'd liked him in toys uh which is apparently his worst movie
- 7:23that he wishes he' never done right and uh when I said that he he gave me the
- 7:27filthiest look and uh that was it so that's my Robin Williams experience wow
- 7:33yeah and you never you never reconciled no and now now we never
- 7:39will yeah that's that's the greatest tragedy well as long as we're name
- 7:43dropping I uh I got to meet Trent resar once yeah yeah oh y y yep you pushed in
- 7:50you pushed in front of me and he uh he told you to calm down yep he did he did
- 7:53he said you cut in line and I said yes I did uh but it's okay cuz I brought him
- 8:00yeah yeah can I name drop yeah sure sure
- 8:04uh Tom Cruz Nicole Kidman together George Lucas together
- 8:10George Lucas Nellie Portman y McGregor Hayden Christensen well you can leave that off
- 8:17the list oh [ __ ] remember the time we went to the states were on Hollywood
- 8:21Boulevard and you sucked off Ben affle that's right and now he's going to
- 8:26be Batman so you've had the bat dick which one of his are you talking about
- 8:30oh look I wasn't there for that truth it could have been anyone
- 8:34yeah it was pretty dark I don't remember what what he said it was Ben Affleck and
- 8:39I believed him yeah he was he was pretty dark yeah sorry but back on topic Rob
- 8:44Williams um death by Suicide um if you're uh if you're feeling depressed um
- 8:51just uh if you're going to do it don't be famous cuz it upsets
- 8:55people that's true a lot of people had forgotten they liked him now they're
- 8:59upset about it yeah there was a lot of that I mean there always is and it
- 9:01always makes me feel a bit uncomfortable because I'm
- 9:05like don't really ever mention this person ever I think the biggest example
- 9:11of that was when Michael Jackson the disgusting pedophile died the very the
- 9:16very next day he was a God again you know yeah no I was uh I I I was like no
- 9:22no a creepy petto died yeah cuz I I worked in a music store when Michael
- 9:26Jackson passed when you were touching children yeah go on we hadn't sold yeah
- 9:31we hadn't sold a Michael Jackson album in years really and uh and anyone that
- 9:37anytime you heard the name Michael Jackson was synonymous with child
- 9:42abuse then he dies and
- 9:46suddenly BS forgiven yeah that's right
- 9:49now look I I obviously if he if he did things that's that's awful but I do feel
- 9:55sorry for him in that his life was pretty [ __ ] up oh absolutely oh f for
- 10:01God's sake like honestly how many other people's lives are [ __ ] up and they
- 10:04don't molist children like come on like no no no of course I'm not sorry
- 10:10to do this Jimmy but I've just I've had such a I've had a rough life just let me
- 10:15do it I did I did try to to to point out that that wasn't what I was
- 10:19saying well that's that's never really stopped us now all I meant was he he he
- 10:24got incredibly famous when he was incredibly young and therefore Young and Beautiful
- 10:30and and had a very different frame of reference for everything than everybody
- 10:35else in the world did it certainly did seem like he lived on another planet
- 10:39yeah it must have been very confusing being Michael Jackson and like someone
- 10:43like Prince as I understand it is is similar in that they've just been so
- 10:47famous for so long that they really just have no [ __ ] idea what is going on
- 10:52they just live in this old this separate world yeah but Prince lives in an
- 10:55awesome separate world not not I touch kids separate world true well well don't
- 11:00speculate we don't know that Prince doesn't touch kids I'm sure Michael
- 11:04Jackson's world was excellent until somebody said wait a minute you touching
- 11:07kids and he was like yeah yeah what do you mean what's wrong with that touch
- 11:11their penises what B Jesus Juice it's all good some yeah and then disturbing
- 11:16and someone said you can't do that and he said what I don't understand sorry I
- 11:19can't molest what and then unfortunately he was probably being telling the truth
- 11:23he didn't understand yeah well um
- 11:28speaking of not standing here's here's a really tenuous uh here's a really
- 11:32tenuous link to our next story there's still some Robin Williams news down in
- 11:36Games should we should we finish off yeah why not because it's not all it's
- 11:40not all sad no it's all sad but but Robin is being immortalized in
- 11:45the game world uh in a number of ways really uh cuz he was a gamer himself he
- 11:51was named his kid God sake that's right that's right uh and there's a petition
- 11:56to have him added to the new Zelda game yeah I don't quite know how that'll work
- 12:01just be he'll be a body hanging from a tree I'd
- 12:05imagine Jesus all right he'll also um
- 12:10it's been announced will be an NPC in World of Warcraft yeah which is nice
- 12:15apparently he'll be the um weird old man hanging around in a pub telling jokes a
- 12:21that's nice from a tree or in a pub I'm sure that's how he'd want to be
- 12:28remembered you can uh be remember fondly for all
- 12:32your fantastic films or or we can put you as an NPC in an obscure online video
- 12:37game it's not that obscure I was going to say I don't think it's
- 12:41obscure uh well you'd be surprised I think the majority of the planet doesn't
- 12:44even know what World of Warcraft is did I ever tell you about the time that a friend of
- 12:50mine took my sister out on a date I love this story I know this story
- 12:55yes go on I don't know if our listeners have though and so you know there's no
- 13:00much backstory a friend of mine asked if I'd mind if you talk my sister on a date
- 13:03I said of course not you know um not really up to me and uh so they went out they you
- 13:10know uh went out to dinner next day she called me and said uh what's World of
- 13:17Warcraft oh no and I said a good start why do you ask and she's like oh well
- 13:22your friend who I went on a date with last night spent the entire night
- 13:26talking about World of Warcraft who his character was and what Guild he was in
- 13:30and how much gold he had and how much gold he had like a like a
- 13:37Dar needless to say there was not a second dat but I can
- 13:42just imagine it too you know I uh I've got quite a bit of cash you know you
- 13:46might say that on a date to impress a girl quite a bit of cash oh yeah oh not
- 13:49in this world obviously in the uh the virtual world head of the guild head of
- 13:55the head sorry in a guild head of yeah
- 14:00designed the tabed myself Jesus in
- 14:05Photoshop so jents um if you are going
- 14:09to date my sister uh just just keep it to yourself really just to uh quickly
- 14:15clarify there Dan uh is your sister uh taken the moment or can any of our
- 14:19listeners uh ring in and ask for a date with your sister no no she's married
- 14:22with two kids but you never know you know what I mean no things change when
- 14:25does that mean taken just keeping her options open in that's brother you are
- 14:30don't want to tie down Ro William wife was married last
- 14:35week oh ow I might have a go at
- 14:39then ow oh I don't want anyone to make any assumptions that we are cold-hearted
- 14:45but um that that was funny this just how we deal with things yeah that's right
- 14:48that's right that that was funny uh what else is funny is um uh
- 14:53religious morons are issuing fats against uh joining the Miss Mission to
- 14:57Mars yeah so
- 15:59are higher than living uh which constitutes a suicide uh which big no no
- 16:04wait hold on so if you joined a hly holy war like say in the Crusades um and you
- 16:09are a Muslim Fighter um there's a good chance you're going to die yeah I would
- 16:14assume so and uh so I don't really get the logic I'm going to assume that's
- 16:20different cuz the motivation probably
- 16:25matters yeah mind you there will be 70 virgins on on Mars by the time Mars one
- 16:31gets there you hear that Luke hear that 70 of them I've often wondered if that's
- 16:36even in the Quran or if it's like it's like the Christians in the Rapture where
- 16:41that's not even in the Bible oh half the [ __ ] in Christianity is not in the
- 16:44actual Bible whatever the pope feels like saying this week oh well they know
- 16:47they just they have meetings about it don't they and they all decide no they
- 16:51cut out a lot of the Bible I'll tell you that much yeah no we've got Saints now
- 16:55Saints you can pray to them as well yeah where does it say that in the ID it's
- 17:00not idolatry just ignore the Old Testament and you'll be okay yeah
- 17:04tonight on multiple religion gasm religion religion
- 17:09gasm so um a bit of podcasting news bit meta uh that's not how we say it on this
- 17:15podcast mate oh a bit of POC casting news if you're just joining us and you
- 17:20don't know what a podcast is that's an iPod broadcast I think they might know if
- 17:27they're listening don't make assp Matt yeah no that's fair that's fair
- 17:31it's pocast but all right yeah well
- 17:34we're we are obviously very successful podcast obvious po
- 17:40podcast um but there are the most successful podcast no officially I think
- 17:46the most successful podcaster is um Adam Corolla because they he is the one that
- 17:53they chose to sue I've never heard of that who is he he's a podcaster what is
- 17:57what kind of podcast is he do he's a comedian he's been around for a while
- 18:02he's uh I don't know he's got a bunch of podcasts I don't know he has like a
- 18:07network or something of podcast podcasts Let's uh let's take a moment and figure
- 18:12out who he is before we talk about him Adam
- 18:16Corolla free daily oh he got he's got the Adam Corolla show there you go yeah
- 18:23free daily comedy daily [ __ ] you Adam Cora you're really making us look bad
- 18:29creative title you got props for that I wonder how he came up with that yeah up
- 18:35all thinking about that well apparently he was deemed the most successful
- 18:39podcaster so uh personal audio a company
- 18:44who happens to own a bunch of patents uh related to Distributing audio over the
- 18:49Internet or something I guess yeah um decided to sue him uh for patent
- 18:53infringement what on behalf of all podcasters no no no no no no on behalf
- 18:58of them they they own the patents and he's he's using the patents he's not
- 19:03paying them [ __ ] patent trolls so so so they sued him right turns out though
- 19:09even the most successful podcaster in the world doesn't make any money from
- 19:14podcasting and the judge said well what are you suing him for he doesn't make
- 19:19any money oh God y so they uh that'd be condescending if it wasn't
- 19:26true so how much money have we made from output I wish I wish we'd known this oh
- 19:31we run at a loss we run at a loss Big L we do it for We Do It For Love uh and
- 19:38actually I'll I'll talk a bit later on about how the listeners if they want can
- 19:42uh can help us I think there's might be good opportunity to talk about it right
- 19:46now man all right well hang on let me let me first read this this is a
- 19:49statement from personal audio Yeah uh that they released in in June in July
- 19:53sorry when personal audio first began its litigation it was under the
- 19:56impression that car Cora the proclaimed goodness me it was under the impression
- 20:01that Corolla the self-proclaimed largest podcaster in the world as well as
- 20:05certain other podcasters were making significant money from infringing
- 20:08personal audio patents after party's completed Discovery however it became
- 20:12clear this was not the case as a result personal audio began to offer dismissals
- 20:16from the case to the podcasting companies involved rather than to
- 20:19litigate over the small amounts of money at
- 20:22issue now Matt I don't want to uh get us
- 20:27into any trouble and uh our legal eagle
- 20:32can chime in and and let us know if I'm
- 20:36overstepping this sure but do we infringe on any of these patterns in our
- 20:42podcast M uh I think it's hard to say to
- 20:47be honest because I mean they dropped you're they dropped all the charges so
- 20:52it never was never tested officially because they realized there's no point
- 20:57because I mean maybe one day some company will make a shitload of
- 21:01money off podcast somehow like some will figure out how that
- 21:05works yeah podcast I don't know how that's going to work because like I said
- 21:09we we put this out there and no one pays for it it's not the kind of business
- 21:11model you get into if you're looking to make a fortune so well yeah that's true
- 21:16yeah so I don't know uh so I think at this point we we might be um the judges
- 21:22haven't decided but you know what's weird I was listening to an interview
- 21:28with Ryan Johnson the other day the director uh of the upcoming Star Wars
- 21:33sequels oh yeah and um they mentioned you know they were just kind of spatting
- 21:39off some facts about his life uh and mentioned that he was you know dating a
- 21:43prominent podcaster and it was the first time I'd heard kind of anyone in kind of
- 21:48mainstream media even refer to a podcaster right you get what I mean and
- 21:53the fact that like you know a celebrity director could date a celebrity podcaster
- 21:59I mean why not yeah interesting well look what I'm saying is
- 22:04we could have some you know some pretty high you know highbrow chicks maybe yeah
- 22:09maybe podcasters are well I I don't think we leverage that enough to be
- 22:12honest our uh our status is celeb yeah exactly yeah we we need to get ourselves
- 22:17invited to more things that's what I think that one launch we went to Once
- 22:21well look picking of of making money or
- 22:26at least not being constantly in the red
- 22:29as far as the podcast goes M um if the listeners wanted to pick up a bit of
- 22:35multiple nerdgasm merchandise for themselves they can do that now we uh
- 22:39we've got t-shirts that's exciting yeah by the time this is up we'll have we
- 22:43should have some hoodies on there as well and um maybe some other Oz and ends
- 22:47so um if that interests you head over to our website multipl nerdgasm doom and uh
- 22:54there'll be a link on there to take you to the store and you can you can have a
- 22:58look and and like like I said all the money from that goes to paying for the
- 23:02costs of you know hosting and distributing the podcast cuz at the
- 23:06moment we're all just paying for it
- 23:10so paying for it okay I'm paying for it yeah so the money will go to paying Matt
- 23:16back for all the cash he's funneled into this dying AR yeah basically yeah well
- 23:21okay head over to the store buy some stuff uh that'll help us keep going I we
- 23:25do this anyway but I mean it'll make it make us just feel better about doing it
- 23:30also if you're if you're out there on the street right or at the gym you
- 23:35probably don't go to the gym um but you're out there on the street and
- 23:39you're wearing your multiple nerdgasm t-shirt yeah you pass someone else
- 23:45wearing a multiple nerdgasm t-shirt and you just know you know you know you pass
- 23:50a beautiful woman wearing a multiple nerdgasm t-shirt and and you you stri up
- 23:56strike up a conversation you know mhm mhm down the track you're married with
- 23:59kids and yeah you got you got us to think that's all I'm saying just get the
- 24:05just get the [ __ ] T-shirt oh and speak sorry uh I just that just reminded me
- 24:11um by the time this episode is up you'll have already heard the episode where we
- 24:16discussed the Steve Jobs Kickstarter um and oh yeah what happened to that and as
- 24:22we've done nothing no no no no no I have I have I have we want to do it but we
- 24:26want to I want to do it properly yeah um it is in in the works and I just
- 24:32don't want to half it and Chuck it up there and and you know CU I think it's
- 24:36it's a good opportunity and it could be fun so um if it's not up by the time
- 24:40this episode's out um please don't think we've forgotten about it or that it's
- 24:43not happening it's it is happening um we're just getting everything sorted out
- 24:46so that it's um I think the time it takes for these episodes to come out
- 24:50people have literally forgotten we even have a podcast by the time I think instead of
- 24:56going oh there's number of episode they go they go oh that's right multiple nasm is a
- 25:01thing that's right I remember those guys talk sometimes well can I just say
- 25:05getting to you know getting like four 34 to 35 year old men um together at any
- 25:11point in time ever is difficult enough yeah let alone then having someone spend
- 25:16hours and hours editing the podcast it's true and last weekend the four of us
- 25:20were in the same room for the first time in I don't know how long a yeah that's
- 25:25true at least a year yeah yeah good we should do that more often yeah good
- 25:30night it was a good night it and we should do that more often yeah also but
- 25:35but our listeners don't care about that yeah probably not this is probably just
- 25:38you know they do actually actually uh one thing that somebody said to me was
- 25:44that we should tell more stories about how we met and things like that because
- 25:49apparently the listeners do find that stuff interesting personal stories about
- 25:52us yeah a personal story about Luke apparent oh God which one I'm kidding
- 25:58I'm kiding apparently that stuff rates well amongst the listeners I'm I listen
- 26:02to this podcast right called um uh film spotting which is just film
- 26:08reviewers right and it's really like uh like they're really polite they're never
- 26:13rude they never tell dirty jokes or anything um but just the the pause in
- 26:18the exact wrong space in a in a review the other day was um so hilarious um
- 26:24they play the audio for trailers while they're talking about things they play
- 26:27the audio for um something I can't remember what but then it just came when
- 26:31it cut back to them uh he goes I just came from the movie to the studio so had
- 26:37everything thing prepared but like I literally spat my drink because I
- 26:42thought that the person who was least like in the world to make that kind of
- 26:45comment literally just came back from a trailer and went I just
- 26:52came but I play the audio from the trailers that's interesting yeah they read perfectly
- 26:57well interesting you kind of your brain fills in the blanks yeah cuz why some of the gamer
- 27:03podcasts that I've listened to in the past do that where they they play the
- 27:06game trailers for the week and I'm like well that doesn't
- 27:08translate that sounds really boring yeah I mean for a film I can see that makes
- 27:14slightly more sense because you know like you can like more like a radio play
- 27:19kind of thing but for a game I mean if you don't see what the game is how can
- 27:24you know whether it's any good like it seems pointless very strange
- 27:29any of you guys want to talk about [ __ ] the dead only if far you do a jingle for
- 27:35that exact segment [ __ ] the
- 27:42Dead all right this week on [ __ ] the dead oh this week on [ __ ] the dead
- 27:48Ohio morg worker Kenneth Douglas has sex with up to 100
- 27:53corpses true story apparently uh he well
- 27:58he's a morg worker as I covered in the uh the intro um he has been charged I
- 28:04believe now um his wife attempted to turn him in earlier and the police
- 28:11wouldn't listen to him listen to her um wow so he's been yeah he's been arrested
- 28:16charged and sentenced to three years in prison
- 28:20um oh hang on was in 2008 so you get 3
- 28:24years in prison no he pleaded guilty in 2012 right right right right but do you
- 28:29know how they found him do you know how he got caught he has had sex with 100
- 28:34dead women between 1976 in 1992 while he worked there he
- 28:39didn't get caught right until they were investigating the rape and murder of a
- 28:4519-year-old girl right and the guy who killed her said yeah I murdered her I
- 28:51admited but I didn't rape her and they went [ __ ] this corpse is full of
- 28:56semen and he's like I'm [ __ ] admitting to the murder if I raped her
- 29:00I'd tell you and then they tested it and they went yeah you know what this is not your
- 29:06Sean Jesus and that's how they caught the morg worker who was [ __ ] the dead
- 29:13you know I just I often think you start with one right and you think this is the
- 29:17only time like I'm not doing this again see what this is like this is sick and
- 29:22twisted and I'm I'm not doing this again but you kind of like it mhm and then
- 29:28said he said he wouldn't do it if he wasn't drinking or smoking
- 29:33crack I got I just suggestion well it's my suggestion is don't drink or smoke
- 29:38crack at work and it probably won't come up he but he's probably not the most
- 29:41intelligent of men I mean I love his his explanation when they said like how
- 29:45could you do this and he said and I quote I would just get on top of them
- 29:49and pull my pants down so matter of fact he's like no how
- 29:55could you psychologically do this just how did you physically do this that's
- 29:59right well you know it's funny um having made a movie about it when I was a bit
- 30:04younger um and thinking how hilarious it was and then thinking about the fact
- 30:09that someone actually did this not once not twice not five times over a hundred
- 30:14times but here's how I reckon that happens cuz as you say you do it once
- 30:18and you're like [ __ ] this is the only time like I work in a morg I see these
- 30:22beautiful beautiful kabas every day right I just have to once I have to do
- 30:27it you're like it enough to do it again and you're like this is the last time
- 30:30this is absolutely the last time it happens a third time right by the time
- 30:35you're up to the 50th 60th 70th or 80th time you may as well just go with it you
- 30:39know what I mean oh once you [ __ ] 80 dead bodies you may as well [ __ ] a 100
- 30:44once you [ __ ] 80 bad bodies that's your thing and no one can call you on it
- 30:47no one can call you on it no that's no but I I mean I'm going to say it was
- 30:53probably more than 100 yeah he's admitting to 100 mind you if you're
- 30:57going to admit to 100 you m to them all well I mean he probably doesn't really
- 31:02know like unless he's got like a record of it like yeah guy D 100's probably
- 31:07just the largest number he can count to when they said how many bodies would you
- 31:10[ __ ] he probably went I know 100 yeah doesn't seem like he's he's too
- 31:17Bluey yeah well anyway he's uh he's in
- 31:20jail now so so my question now how long how long's he in jail
- 31:26for uh 3 years you [ __ ] so you
- 31:30can years in prison 100 corpses and the
- 31:34most you are going to get is a 100 years
- 31:37I mean years three years yeah no no but that's a good point Dave even if it was
- 31:44only one year per dead woman you raped
- 31:47that's still a 100 years yeah that's true oh so I guess there's no real
- 31:54Tipping Point like where like you know they just sort of go well whether it was
- 31:59five or it was 100 you're getting three years one is bad enough 100 is too much to
- 32:06process but my question is Dave you have and for those of you who don't know Dave
- 32:11wrote and directed a film in the early 2000s called necro about this exact
- 32:16thing and I want to know how close did you get to what to the story I don't
- 32:23mean to actually doing it I mean like to reality now that we know that this has
- 32:26really happened is this basically the plot of your film or would you go now
- 32:31that you know what happened would you go back and change some details in the film
- 32:34if you could uh I i' probably have more corpses um more yeah yeah yeah because I think I
- 32:40mean how many were there in the film two two I think saw two really and there was
- 32:46there was three if you count the alleyway so if it's if you [ __ ] 100
- 32:51corpses for 3 years in prison you [ __ ] two corpses that's like a week Max
- 32:56right not good at maths but if you're like yeah I'm not doing anything next
- 33:01week I'll [ __ ] a course today next week's a ride off cuz I'll be in prison
- 33:06then I'll be out again yeah well he did he did progress to murder in the in the
- 33:11film so um is that online can we link to that in the show notes to necro yeah I
- 33:17don't know if it is no it's not online and uh it will never be online okay well
- 33:21if you want to copy just um send an email to Daniel
- 33:24mg.com send you a DVD or if you want to speak to the director personally just
- 33:29give him a call on and have a chat with
- 33:35him oh
- 33:38god um well I guess speaking of [ __ ]
- 33:43the dead um apparently you can have an ejaculating [ __ ] as your company
- 33:48logo yeah yeah someone want to someone want to explain this I'm going to click
- 33:53this little link here what am I going to see well have a look this is a uh this
- 33:56is a a fast food company called Dirty Bird uh which's logo is a d and a b uh
- 34:03next to each other uh made into a chicken but just have a look and um tell
- 34:08me what that looks like that literally looks like a [ __ ]
- 34:14ejaculating yeah yeah it's an ejacul literally literally it does I I didn't
- 34:20even notice the D and the B I just he just thought it was a in fact
- 34:25you you said it's a d and a b and I was like where where oh right there they are
- 34:29so needless to say there have been complaints yeah the looks like a chicken
- 34:34the town is in upro yeah yeah I see the chicken I just and I see the dick but I
- 34:39uh yeah well either way it's a [ __ ] yeah yeah that is so obvious like how could
- 34:46not how could someone who designed the logo I reckon someone who designed it
- 34:48was having a bit of a joke of course like I remember you designed a logo for
- 34:53me Dan yeah um was that an dribbling
- 34:58it was yeah sitting on top of a computer was it I mean was it
- 35:04intentional the well some the other some the company they produce some other
- 35:08posters such as touch my thigh and touch
- 35:10my breast oh oh right interesting where
- 35:15can I see those um they only just refer to them they don't show you pictures
- 35:22H that's a because yeah I mean I mean it does look like that and I I mean it
- 35:28seems like some people were overreacting like this woman says I was
- 35:31queing out with my two sons and when I looked at the logo and realized what it
- 35:34represents it's not the sort of thing that should be on display around
- 35:37children I mean well children should know what that represents no I mean it
- 35:41does look like a chicken as well yeah know what that represents you have other
- 35:46problems exactly it does look like a chicken as well mind you I mean
- 35:52yeah if it was done on purpose maybe there is something to it I mean some
- 35:56things just look like [ __ ] I mean I'm just looking here at another article uh
- 36:01about a skate park that uh nobody thought anything of until uh they
- 36:06realized because of Google Earth that from above it's a [ __ ] and
- 36:11balls yeah well I'm sure that stuff happens all the time pting it in
- 36:18here CU stuff just looks like genitals it's just how stuff works
- 36:23yeah let me look at this felic skate park it's certainly
- 36:30does that's great
- 36:35yeah that skate park is great though that looks it's it's like
- 36:413D yeah it's it's like a mold of a [ __ ] if you were going to make one out of
- 36:46yeah exactly or a big [ __ ] cookie yeah but what's that phenomenon
- 36:51where humans see human faces reflected in things which is why we think we see
- 36:55the Virgin Mary and Jesus CHR paria paradia or something paradia yeah is
- 37:00there a version of that that's constantly seeing cops well I mean we
- 37:03look for patterns in everything apparently like that's why people are
- 37:06more inclined to believe something is you know if they see patterns where
- 37:10there are no patterns they believe you know eventually they'll win Lotto or you
- 37:14know 50/50 on the Poke machines eventually it's going to be a win you
- 37:19know what I mean like yeah we look for pattern when there aren't so that
- 37:22wouldn't surprise me if we see penises in things I mean I see penises in things
- 37:27I guess yeah I do too but I watched an awful lot of gay porn yeah exactly
- 37:33yeah and I mean just I this point just let that one slide Dan yeah whatever
- 37:38yeah nobody nobody called me on that someone says something remotely sexual
- 37:43all over them but D just blatantly comes out and says something yep cool yeah
- 37:47it's no fun if it's that easy no [Music]
- 37:53exactly well speaking of um dicks um Phil
- 37:58has quit the game industry again no look I feel sorry for Phil fish cuz he gets
- 38:04lagged on but he does Bring It On yeah and The Temper that he has about it is
- 38:08just so entertaining yeah well in I think it's somewhat Justified this time
- 38:14there there's been some drama I don't want to go into it because it's stupid
- 38:17but um there was some drama surrounding a female game developer and and her
- 38:24relationships which have nothing to do with anything um but Phil fish got up on
- 38:29got on Twitter and kind of berated a lot of people who were harassing her about
- 38:34it um so they hacked the polytron his
- 38:39his company polytron um Dropbox account and released all their financial and
- 38:43personal information including his social security information and Jesus
- 38:47hacked their website and put all the files up so everyone could download them
- 38:50and basically ruined both his professional and personal life well
- 38:54that's um look I think Phil fish is a dick but come on internet yeah that's full
- 39:01Onish is going to cold blooded [ __ ] murder someone well the he's not he's
- 39:07he's he's he's not he's just a horribly depressed person I'm sure like he's not
- 39:12going to kill anybody he's just you know he's just oh man feel really sorry for
- 39:18him you know yeah that's that's pretty [ __ ] now that you can't stand up for a
- 39:22woman I mean I don't know I don't know the details but that you have to worry
- 39:26about getting [ __ ] this bad yeah just
- 39:30for posting a tweet the whole situation with with that is somewhat complicated I
- 39:35don't really want to go into it on here because I don't know enough about it and
- 39:38it's not my business anyway like just because it's got nothing to do with
- 39:41games but they I wish all did that look I don't want to go into details about
- 39:46this because it's quite honestly none of my business anyway look yeah this girl's
- 39:50ex-boyfriend came out and posted this big blog post about how she was cheating
- 39:55on him with a bunch of journalists over over a period of time including just
- 39:59loves Jour well as a as a game developer it's not good if she does you
- 40:05know what I mean so um there were allegations that she was sleeping with
- 40:10some guy from Kotaku in exchange for coverage of the game all that kind of
- 40:14stuff but then uh Kotaku released a statement saying he's never written an
- 40:18article about the game ever uh and they were dating um so what's the problem
- 40:25basically those are the facts they were dating and he never wrote an article
- 40:27about her so what so you know end of story yeah um so yeah and it all got a bit out of
- 40:34hand and they were um yeah went overboard and now Phil fish
- 40:40is he said that the Fez 2 IP is up for sale uh cuz he wants out because games
- 40:46are all games are all [ __ ] yeah I
- 40:52mean he does antagonize them a lot so and he has
- 40:57in the past drawn attention to himself so he probably should have just stayed
- 41:03out of it yeah yeah yeah but he can't help himself no no which is half his
- 41:10problem I think I think it's probably best if he does step out to be honest of
- 41:14the industry not of life of the industry you heard it here first multiple nasm
- 41:19Matthew ham wants Phil fish to kill himself no I don't I don't but I do
- 41:23worry that he will to be honest he's clearly unstable well yeah yeah but I
- 41:28mean most gamers are aren't they really you you listened to any any uh uh online
- 41:35video game chats you you'll just know that most people are just [ __ ]
- 41:40unstable [ __ ] yeah the problem is they all get together on the internet
- 41:45and yeah so Phil if you're out there kill
- 41:53[Music] yourself H so um I saw a movie this week
- 41:59that I think Dan has seen already I think he may have even brought it up on the
- 42:03podcast uh it's a movie called lock and it's set entirely in a car and all it is
- 42:10is a series of phone calls for an hour and a half and it is one of the most
- 42:15captivating hour and a half films I have seen in a very very long time I is it
- 42:22could not pause it I just was I just I
- 42:27had to was broken yeah yeah yeah so I was um bundled up watching this on a
- 42:33notebook and um I was just enthralled I just I couldn't believe how engaging
- 42:38something could be in such a contained environment it's uh it's it's a credit
- 42:42to the writer and the director of the film um that that he managed to pull
- 42:47this off so well uh the acting I don't know who's the main actor is but he was
- 42:51really good Tom Hardy Tom Hardy and I couldn't work out what kind of accent he
- 42:55had what kind of accent South African but then it's not it's Welsh yeah
- 43:02right he's could it he's Welsh accents a very hard one to pick he's good at
- 43:07accents Tom Hardy he's an Aussie in Mad Max the You Mad Max wait not Tom Hardy
- 43:13who played Bane Tom Tom Hardy Tom Hardy wait so the guy that played
- 43:21Bane is that some kind of
- 43:26fall talk you don't understand what I'm saying
- 43:31hello I sex with and have a baby we're talking about the same guy
- 43:38right yeah no no I mean like that is the guy that's in this film yeah yeah cool
- 43:43the yeah cool I like him yeah he's good he's in um what's that movie with Shila
- 43:49Buff sh oh yeah um criminal something like that yeah the one where they make
- 43:55moonshine or something oh I think it's called Moon Shiner Moon Shiner yeah yeah
- 44:01that was a good film too and he I think he had a different accent in that as
- 44:04well I think he had a kind I think he's one of those guys that does a different
- 44:07accent in every movie like Christian Bale says that he's never done the same
- 44:11accent in two films because you can't remember yeah he just he's not good at
- 44:16I've never done the same accent in two
- 44:21scenes but I just um I thought it was really good you should uh you should
- 44:26watch it guys it's it's really really good yeah it's good oldfashioned
- 44:29storytelling it is literally one actor
- 44:33in a car the whole film it's but even just with the voices you you just get to
- 44:38know the other characters so well you know just by by the way they speak and just
- 44:43his personality is is a really interesting type of personality type
- 44:48that you don't normally see in film yeah he's he's just got this air of what's
- 44:54the word Dan it's it's not it's this
- 44:57sort of logical kind of um sense of Duty
- 45:02it's it's really it's really quite interesting because he literally
- 45:05destroys his own life with a series of phone calls like it's
- 45:11unbelievable do that you you yeah well that's the thing you watch this movie
- 45:15and you're just you kind of you you can't look away but it's it's so awkward
- 45:21to watch him just systematically [ __ ] up
- 45:25his professional life his personal life relationships everything and you're just
- 45:31going dude [ __ ] just just think about this man I know like turn around just
- 45:35turn around just turn around you don't have to do this but he's just got all
- 45:39this baggage from his own father probably giving it too much
- 45:44detail now but yeah it's a good movie go and watch it yeah you should um also
- 45:48watched a little film called bad neighbors with uh a little lady I like to call
- 45:55roseburn I think it's her name don't don't gloss over the fact that
- 45:59you've watched a Zack Efron movie oh it's um it was
- 46:04truly truly terrible and it it it it's
- 46:09it I mean it had robes burning I thought can't be that bad Sur it was it was
- 46:14atrocious I I don't think I laughed once during the entire thing it looked pretty
- 46:18bad it's so bad and and it's just not
- 46:22funny no it's very predictable just just
- 46:28trash just trash I I feel lesser of a person for having you know people this
- 46:33is the movie that everyone just did for paychecks yeah they did not care about
- 46:37this movie at all the Cinematic equivalent of a McDonald's chains bger
- 46:41then yeah just yep that's exactly what it is Dan yeah you know it's not even
- 46:45very good you know I watched a movie with roseb in it oh really go on uh
- 46:52Insidious oh it's a horror film that I
- 46:56think it's a out or coming uh and it's
- 47:01by what's the Australian guy who did saw oh James Juan yeah pretty sure it's him
- 47:08anyway it's well it's got a bunch of Aussies in it um so I'm
- 47:13fairly certain yeah James one yeah definitely so it's got roseburn in it
- 47:17and it's uh a horror story where their their kid gets uh possessed by
- 47:23Supernatural forces what's this movie called in idious oh that's a great film
- 47:28except for the ending terrible yeah it was good and then got a bit silly at the
- 47:34end yeah I thought it was called inside ear yeah it's called inside
- 47:41ear can't wait to get inside is can't wait to inside is all is it's a movie
- 47:47set in the western suburbs of Sydney um yeah but it stars uh it stars the guy
- 47:54from as well doesn't it uh yes it does
- 47:58uh and it's also got um two what are the two Angus Samson and some other Aussie
- 48:04guy is Angus Samson is that the guy I'm thinking of let me Google that yeah
- 48:07you're thinking of Angus Samson he no you're thinking of Angus Sams
- 48:13yeah is he the one who tries to get insiders yeah yeah I'm pretty sure he
- 48:18does yeah he's in and some other Australian guy but they trying they're
- 48:21doing very um I mean to me very obvious American accents because I know that
- 48:25they're Australian so I thought that was a bit distracting what about Rosemary
- 48:28burn is she doing an American accent she she is but I didn't notice so there you
- 48:33go um but I've seen her in other stuff like X-Men with so she she sold me on
- 48:38that that aspect but yeah that was that was pretty good some good scares it was
- 48:43a it's a jump scare movie which they annoy me a bit because uh yeah yeah
- 48:48there is but what about oh that one scene during the day when you think
- 48:51nothing scary could happen right now and then I think I know you mean where
- 48:55they're set around the table oh sounds riving No I don't want to say
- 48:59anything because it's a pretty good it's pretty good
- 49:02scare so I went to the movies this week as well and I went and saw a movie that
- 49:08up until a week ago I had literally no intention of watching in fact I
- 49:13mentioned on last week's podcast how [ __ ] the trailers for Guardians of
- 49:19the Galaxy were M but Matt and Luke
- 49:24assured me that this was a good movie promised me that I would okay from the
- 49:30one guy that likes every comic book movie and the other guy who thinks that
- 49:33any movie is okay cuz you going watch it while you're ring okay yep go
- 49:37on I can't watch my eying at the do my eying at the movies
- 49:43so so I reluctantly took myself off to
- 49:47the cinema and I paid the $45 that it now costs for two people to watch a
- 49:52[ __ ] movie right but I've got to say that Guardians of the Galaxy is one of
- 49:59the best films I have ever seen oh [ __ ]
- 50:02off [ __ ] off and it proves right that you can make a movie set in a crazy
- 50:09Universe with ridiculous bizarre characters and if you are a good
- 50:14filmmaker that can tell a good story well mhm then that movie can be a
- 50:19success [ __ ] this is the best films ever made it is
- 50:25such really good is it's really good see
- 50:29it it is it is funny it is moving it is
- 50:34thought-provoking it is action-packed I mean for a movie that stars two pro
- 50:40wrestlers yeah like it is so good and I honestly it it's like movies in the 80s
- 50:47where they just go okay ridiculous premise ignore that we're just going to
- 50:51tell a really good story and it's made so well and I think we even talked about
- 50:58the fact that like none of us had any respect for James gun because TR that he
- 51:03had I mean I mostly know him as the host of scream Queens right
- 51:08right he has [ __ ] knocked this one out of the park yeah yeah cuz I watched
- 51:13that film of his super um and I really didn't like it how to build your super
- 51:19fund yeah right it's just about saving up for retirement um yeah oh Jesus yeah
- 51:26no I just didn't like that and so when I when the when guardian started and it's
- 51:29said um directed by James gun that was literally the only thing I could think
- 51:33of that he directed and I was like ah [ __ ] yeah well here's the thing I looked
- 51:37at the trailer and thought I actually want to watch that that looks like a fun
- 51:40romp through space which I would probably enjoy it is but to hear Dan say
- 51:44it it's an amazingly well done fantastic
- 51:48film I'm just a little surpris it's just
- 51:52with all these movies like an absolute abundance of superhero and big budget
- 51:58Sci-Fi movies now you've got all the Avengers which I liked and you've got
- 52:02the the Transformers which are fine to you know like they're all just
- 52:06bombarding us with this really specific type of Storytelling technique you know
- 52:11what I mean they're so similar across the board and this one exists in
- 52:16parallel to those but is quite different right yeah like storytelling is a really
- 52:22refreshing return to form okay well I'm definitely going to go see it then but
- 52:27has anyone here seen Transformers dinosaur did anyone even bother to see
- 52:31that no I've listened I've listened to the score quite a lot because it's
- 52:35actually really good but it's the highest grossing film of the year though
- 52:39is it yes it is it's made up no Guardian
- 52:43is the highest grossing domestic I.E
- 52:47just America mhm right but uh dinosaur has made over a billion dollars
- 52:52worldwide I love her we just call a dinosaur
- 52:58oh awful well I I watched uh three sequels since we last talked I watched
- 53:04yeah I watched um a bunch of Marvel sequels um basically and some other
- 53:10stuff and you know what's funny like he says that like but I bet it actually
- 53:13went like hey hey Jenna do you you reck we should do a day of Marvel
- 53:18sequels no it was a few days it was a few days um uh Spider-Man 2 Amazing
- 53:23Spider-Man 2 rather you know the the the newer ones so they not [ __ ] Sam Ry ones y well
- 53:30enjoy the first one so how did you with the second one didn't like it that much
- 53:33either um maybe you going to stop now or you going to keep punishing yourself
- 53:36with movies you know are going to be [ __ ] no I mean I'll I'll continue to
- 53:39watch them you will yeah but uh no look has who has anyone else seen
- 53:44this what this one I know yes I have I just feel like you can't get on your
- 53:47high horse at this point Dan totally fair no no no no no no these
- 53:53the Guardians and this film are in completely different ballpark in my
- 53:56opinion the Guardians was like amazing honestly guys like I'm not going to give
- 54:01anything away right Dave get this but at the end when the little pow comes up
- 54:08what I'm talking about yeah yeah yeah yeah of course honestly I cried three
- 54:12times in Guardians of the Galaxy what you yeah you didn't even cry at the end
- 54:17of 6 feet under yeah I wept three times three separate times my God Dave Dave
- 54:22it's great go and see it it's really good hold on if this made Daniel weep
- 54:25three times if I watch it I may kill myself after I see it I don't know if I
- 54:30can look the thing is like cuz Dave you know I've got a problem with with
- 54:35sentimentality in problem if it's mishandled right but this just [ __ ]
- 54:41got me do you know what I mean it just took me along and I was with this every
- 54:44and the only reason I saw this is because you two told me it was good and
- 54:49I had to know and uh I've been holding off talking to you about it all week cuz
- 54:54I wanted to mention on I saw that You' put it in in the list and I wanted to
- 54:57ask but I thought no I want to know I wanted to find out whether you liked it
- 55:00or not but I want to continue talking about this off air because I [ __ ]
- 55:03love this movie yeah cool all right great all right well yeah Spider-Man 2
- 55:08Amazing Spider-Man 2 uh I wasn't that big on it I thought uh in particular Ryo
- 55:12was [ __ ] and I thought um did it look as awful as that one picture we saw of him
- 55:18a year ago in production oh no no no no that that the photo of him he I mean
- 55:22he's got a CG Rhino suit on him right that is that ridiculous at all but it's
- 55:29he's got a stupid Russian accent because I love that we saw this photo of it
- 55:33years ago and then we forgot to even we forgot to even care about it once it
- 55:37came out so yeah I want to see I'm Googling Rhino movie this is not even
- 55:41going to come up and I thought I don't know Andrew Garfield's is fine it's just I don't
- 55:47know I don't I just don't like him as much as the other ones and I wasn't that great
- 55:52and I thought Electro was a bit like generic not like you're in pain Matt
- 55:57it's just a movie buddy it's okay all right fine it's a movie you know you
- 56:01didn't like it's the sequel to a movie you hated that's true that's true I really
- 56:07like the soundtrack it's like eating a piece of [ __ ] and then going back for
- 56:11seconds expecting that to taste different because some time has passed
- 56:16but enough about Applebees well all right the next sequel I want to talk
- 56:19about is Captain America 2 uh which is [ __ ] awesome yeah I'm
- 56:25going to assume you li that one a bit better better
- 56:28yeah uh that's actually a Marvel Studio you did like the first captain in
- 56:33America am and I'll tell you the theme Here is going to be also I did just say
- 56:37captain man America so I'm aware of it Captain an enemy the theme here that is going to be
- 56:44and it's going to give you a bit of a spoiler for the third one oh that's
- 56:46going to ruin it the Marvel Studios ones are excellent and the rest of them aren't
- 56:51so uh Guardians excellent Captain America too excellent Amazing Spider-Man
- 56:55I didn't like it and um the third one I'm going to talk
- 56:58about is the new X-Men uh which I also didn't really like that much gay of
- 57:02Future Past that's right um but yeah Captain America 2 is great
- 57:08it's a good action movie it's got uh Samuel L Jackson in this awesome car
- 57:12chase like [ __ ] awesome car chase you've seen it haven't you Luke yes I
- 57:15have yeah it's really good no it's just a cool action movie what did you think Luke
- 57:22um it's good to watch while doing the iring yeah all right fine Luke does a
- 57:27lot of iring I do a lot yeah have we ever have we um have we just stopped uh
- 57:32with the gags now we're just going back to the old ones is that what we're
- 57:36doing yeah we don't need new ones yeah right okay and X-Men Days of Future Past
- 57:42it was all right it was just I didn't mind it I thought it was all right it
- 57:45was I don't know just it I want it's time it's a time travel
- 57:50movie again and that again like they just piss me off because it's like the
- 57:54premise is that they send Wolverine back in time in his own mind so he can only
- 57:59go back to his younger body cuz that's how it works so he goes back to his
- 58:02younger self okay before you go any further man it's wolv varine wolvin yeah
- 58:07they send him back to himself as as when he's younger to change what happens so
- 58:12he can change things but it doesn't take effect until he wakes up again so he
- 58:16goes back in time and does all this stuff yeah but but if if he doesn't wake
- 58:20up again it doesn't who goes back in time wvar right okay good back in time
- 58:27and it's just like as soon as that kind of came into it I was like I don't like
- 58:32this anymore who do they get to write these things well I it's I think it's a
- 58:37story line from the from the book so it is no it's an existing storyline but
- 58:41they back in time yeah but unfortunately
- 58:45the uh the character that uh actually does go back in time in the in the
- 58:50comics and in the TV series as well uh is not played by as popular an actor no
- 58:56no it was it but they because they made it that was played by Ellen pagee she
- 59:00was too young so her character wouldn't be alive back in the70s why are they all
- 59:04the same age in the future like none of them have aged from the last movie well
- 59:09wolver doesn't age that's the thing no no no but the rest of them like Ellen
- 59:12Page looks who doesn't age in Wolverine w sorry wolvar right okay it's getting
- 59:18confused them have aged they all look though I mean they look a bit older cuz
- 59:21they are a bit older the actors but they I mean it just it's very strange that
- 59:25it's supposed to be the future but they all look the same and then and then they
- 59:29go back in time and they're all young like it's it's really that's what I
- 59:32always enjoyed about Buffy and Angel is when you look at the first season you
- 59:34see Spike and Angel who are vampires who don't age and then you go Seven Seasons
- 59:38into the future and it's like these dudes are old it's like the fifth
- 59:42Highlander movie where Kristoff lamber is considerably older than he was in the
- 59:4680s okay now I'm confused I don't know if you're making fun or if that's
- 59:49actually how you pronounce it CU yeah that's how you pronounce it
- 59:55yeah Christopher Lambert yeah yeah it is if you're a dumb American who can't
- 1:00:00pronounce Kristoff lamber I honestly can't tell if you're
- 1:00:07being sarcastic anymore Matt you've got to agree two
- 1:00:11things fight in the first scene pretty cool first oh yeah that was great
- 1:00:17actually yeah with the portals and things yeah with the portals and also
- 1:00:20love that that got me very exced jailbreak scene [ __ ]
- 1:00:26yeah those two action sequences were fantastic but everything else kind of
- 1:00:30just I didn't I didn't like it that much even fast Bender in it didn't you know I
- 1:00:34[ __ ] love that guy in the first uh the X-Men first Class but then I don't
- 1:00:39know wait so they've got um quick svar in there yeah quick Qui silv I also like
- 1:00:46the fact that they were like look we've got James maoy you know as a young kind
- 1:00:50of you know grungy good-looking dude um he is supposed to be in a wheelchair but
- 1:00:55that would really bring ratings down so let's just put something into the story
- 1:00:58that meant he can walk around a bit even though in the last film he did get
- 1:01:01paralyzed well the other thing that I take issue with is now all of the other
- 1:01:07films are just wiped out like yeah the first three X-Men films no longer
- 1:01:12happened in this timeline so they're just gone now oh Jesus Christ okay I I
- 1:01:18and like no not only that everybody's back like f Jensen's back at the well
- 1:01:21sorry spoilers spoiler fam Jensen's back at the end [ __ ] what's his name
- 1:01:26who play Cyclops is back they're all they're all just back oh yeah Rogue was
- 1:01:29back Beast was there again like [ __ ] everyone was there at the end it's like
- 1:01:33like Kelsey grmo as beast and all the actors and stuff which is cool cuz I
- 1:01:38guess they realized oh we [ __ ] up and killed everybody but and you know sequels but
- 1:01:44uh just felt a bit bit of a cheat like the whole movie was just a cheat with a
- 1:01:49a not very good story line to to make it so they could make more of them up down
- 1:01:53left right ba star boring Peter dink with a mustache oh yeah that's true
- 1:01:57dinky was great in it why do we call him dinky I'll say this Days of Future Past
- 1:02:03is a great story like the the comic
- 1:02:06right okay is pretty cool okay no no I'm sure it probably is I just I didn't buy
- 1:02:12the time travel aspect of this they kind of retconned a lot of it to fit the
- 1:02:18current Trend well you know my first thought was Wolverine can go back of
- 1:02:23course he can CU it's Hugh Jackman yeah that's right
- 1:02:26yeah and also he looks the same so it's kind of Ideal for a film like cuz he
- 1:02:32doesn't age so he's literally the only one that could go back and make it not
- 1:02:37totally [ __ ] M you know what I mean yeah so yeah that's
- 1:02:43right he wouldn't have made they would have had to get different actors or put
- 1:02:46old people makeup on them or something if it yeah alth what am I talking about
- 1:02:51they did that with with Xavier and Magneto anyway so
- 1:02:58anyway but yeah so Guardians thumbs up Spider-Man two thumbs down Captain
- 1:03:04America 2 Thumbs Up Xmen Days of Future Past thumbs down I guess wow you've had
- 1:03:10a busy week it's a couple of weeks ah right of course and you'll probably be hearing
- 1:03:16this dear listeners in a couple of we going to say yeah
- 1:03:20exactly H okay so um oh I had a really funny anecdote about Ghostbusters but I
- 1:03:26realized I didn't write that comment so I don't well I heard something funny
- 1:03:30this week There's a uh there's a YouTube channel that I subscribe to called
- 1:03:35Nostalgia Critic which is this really kind of over the-top American hipster
- 1:03:40who uh basically analyzes old films from the ' 80s and um he did Ghostbusters the
- 1:03:47other day and just kind of you know pointed out a bunch of funny nuances
- 1:03:51that uh you may or may not have been aware of uh vaguely interesting I
- 1:03:56suppose but the funny thing that I took away from it is that he told this story
- 1:04:01about how when he was a kid you know the scene in Ghostbusters where Stans and
- 1:04:07Venkman right at the start are discussing the possibility of going into
- 1:04:12business as Ghostbusters and they're passing a bottle of whiskey back and
- 1:04:16forth yes in the Park yeah y when he was
- 1:04:20a kid the guy from Nostalgia critics asked his dad what the were drinking and
- 1:04:26his dad didn't want to tell them it was alcohol cuz they were too young to know
- 1:04:30about that [ __ ] so he told them that it was the magical potion that turns you
- 1:04:35into a Ghostbuster right but the funny thing is if you watch that scene with
- 1:04:42that in mind it makes total sense because they're really not sold on the
- 1:04:47idea then Stan has a sip and immediately starts talking like a really smart
- 1:04:53person oh we're going to have to reverse the polarity of this like and he going
- 1:04:56on and on and on he then hands the drink to Venkman who takes a swig of it and
- 1:05:01immediately cuts to them coming out of the bank with the loan and him going
- 1:05:04right we're all set now wait can I ask a simple question before you go on yeah if
- 1:05:08you and I went to a bank and we sat down as we w a business loan and put down put
- 1:05:14our bottle of whiskey on the table and they said what do you need the loan for
- 1:05:17what's your business and then we said we going we we want to start a ghostbusting
- 1:05:24business remind you Dave that New York at the time had a really big ghost
- 1:05:31problem that is true everything in its historical
- 1:05:37cont demand most about Ghostbusters what I love most about that movie and I think
- 1:05:42I've mentioned on this podcast before so I won't go on and on about it is that
- 1:05:45the antagonist of the film like not the big villain because that's obviously
- 1:05:50[ __ ] Zuul but the antagonist Walter peek is
- 1:05:56a environmental activist who just wants to know a bit more information about the
- 1:06:03unlicensed nuclear reactor that the Ghostbusters have in a residential area
- 1:06:08like he doesn't want to shut him down he doesn't try to he literally just says
- 1:06:12you are working with equipment you don't have permits for and I want permission
- 1:06:17to do an audit yeah that's what he want and he's right and that's not an
- 1:06:23unreasonable request no what yeah what does what does this
- 1:06:27machine do it's got ghosts in it how does it work I can't tell you yeah look
- 1:06:33fine I'm buying into the whole Ghostbuster premise guys but you really
- 1:06:35do need to meet me halfway on this how
- 1:06:38does the machine work I've got
- 1:06:43forms like I'm just trying to do my job like d if someone came up to you and
- 1:06:48said hey um I'm your neighbor Jeff uh just across the street here um look I'm
- 1:06:53building an unlicensed nuclear reactor I have no real PhD or degree in in
- 1:06:58theoretical or Nuclear Physics how did you get a loan for that look just not
- 1:07:02not not a good question to ask right now we had we had a few drinks went into the
- 1:07:06back I'm just wondering uh if I do this yeah is this going to be a problem for
- 1:07:11you look not for me but I um I will just make a quick call into um the
- 1:07:16environmental oh hold hold on I'm going to stop you there I'm going to stop you
- 1:07:19there no no no no honestly the worst they will do is send a guy out to ask to
- 1:07:22have a literally the worst they'll do okay I understand that but I really want
- 1:07:25to get them involved so if you they wanton be involved they'll literally
- 1:07:29just they will just have a couple of forms they will just need you to take a
- 1:07:31few voxes that's it okay I've got I just want to say something before before you
- 1:07:36you call um it's not it's not just the
- 1:07:39reactor um it it stores ghosts right well I'm not going to [ __ ] argue on
- 1:07:45the final points of that one but but I like later on he does come in and just
- 1:07:49turn it off after being told like it comes in with City officials no no and
- 1:07:54they turn it off and then because in his defense he's like what's going to happen
- 1:07:57and they're like bad stuff that's Lally he go bad stuff like well what the [ __ ]
- 1:08:02does that mean like you could have been a bit more emphatic about the bad stuff
- 1:08:06if you went in to shut something down and I said to you you can't shut it down
- 1:08:09and then you said why and I said because if you shut this down ghosts will be
- 1:08:13released what would you say I would say turn it off Dave yeah turn it off but
- 1:08:19then there's a great scene in the mayor's office where the [ __ ]
- 1:08:23environmental activists and the ghost Busters are there and the environmental
- 1:08:26activist is just laying out the case like they've just got [ __ ] dangerous
- 1:08:31equipment and Venkman just charms the
- 1:08:34May into siding with them that's
- 1:08:38true this man right I think his argument is this man has no dick no
- 1:08:45dick but you know what I love about movies made in the 80s characters they
- 1:08:51didn't feel the need to have them go on any kind of Arc or vman's a [ __ ] at the
- 1:08:55start of the movie and he's a [ __ ] at the end right like if Adam Sandler had
- 1:08:59made I mean not forgetting that this is a movie made by a bunch of X Saturday
- 1:09:04Night Live TV actors you know what I mean this is the equivalent now of juice
- 1:09:08Bigalow male jigo yeah you know what I mean Wow
- 1:09:13Wow have you heard that the Ghostbusters 3 might not be happy but they might be
- 1:09:17doing a reboot now oh God this time focusing on an all female cast of Ghost
- 1:09:23you guys can't sigh and say oh God cuz you guys see every godamn roomate they
- 1:09:27make so that's true yeah oh I'll watch it I'll go and see sexy Ghostbusters
- 1:09:33yeah have you guys seen the
- 1:09:37early rushes for Ghostbusters where they still hadn't they still couldn't they
- 1:09:43still hadn't decided if they were going to call it Ghostbusters or not so
- 1:09:47there's take after the take where they do it and they say Ghostbusters then
- 1:09:50they reset and they go and do it again the exact same scene but they say ghost
- 1:09:53catchers and then they do it again and they say ghost nabers or something like that oh wow
- 1:09:59Jesus wouldn't it be cheaper to just wait and decide I think they wanted to call it
- 1:10:05Ghostbusters and they were just waiting to see whether they got the rights to
- 1:10:08the name right right cuz Ghostbusters was a show from the 60s about two dudes in a
- 1:10:13chimp was it yeah okay yeah that I would
- 1:10:20watch me too that's all for this week thank you for listening and hope you
- 1:10:25enjoyed the show if you enjoyed it then please
- 1:10:29subscribe and items to receive episodes
- 1:10:33automatically we'll see you next time
