- 0:03Speaker 1: Hi again everybody. I'm Dan Hord and thanks for downloading
- 0:06Speaker 1: The Bengals Booth podcast The Oh won't You stay just
- 0:12Speaker 1: a little bit longer. Addition, as the Bengals announced that
- 0:18Speaker 1: offensive lineman Dalton Reisner has agreed to a one year
- 0:22Speaker 1: contract extension. Coming up. Two conversations with Reisner. First, my
- 0:28Speaker 1: one on one visit shortly after he put pen to
- 0:30Speaker 1: paper on the new deal, and later, in case you
- 0:33Speaker 1: missed it, my fun facts conversation with him from earlier
- 0:37Speaker 1: this year. And in between those two interviews, I'll talk
- 0:40Speaker 1: to NFL network analytics expert Cynthia Freeland. The Bengals Booth

- 1:18Speaker 1: The Best Thing I Ever Ate. We have a little
- 1:22Speaker 1: TV in our kitchen that I usually turn on if
- 1:24Speaker 1: I'm cooking or doing the dishes, and if there isn't
- 1:27Speaker 1: a sporting event on. One of my favorite shows to
- 1:30Speaker 1: have on in the background is The Best Thing I
- 1:33Speaker 1: Ever Ate on the Food Network. If you've never seen it,
- 1:37Speaker 1: it consists of chefs picking out favorite dishes they've eaten
- 1:40Speaker 1: at restaurants throughout the US in various categories. For example,
- 1:45Speaker 1: the Best Thing I Ever Ate Grilled features eight grilled
- 1:49Speaker 1: items at restaurants around the country, including a personal favorite
- 1:53Speaker 1: of mine, the grilled oysters at Dragos in New Orleans.
- 1:58Speaker 1: There's a website that features a bunch of mouthwatering videos
- 2:01Speaker 1: from the show. Just search for the Best Thing I
- 2:04Speaker 1: Ever Ate, and then prepare to have a snack because
- 2:07Speaker 1: it's impossible not to munch on something after watching the show. Now,
- 2:13Speaker 1: let's get to Dalton Reisner. For the first time in
- 2:16Speaker 1: the Joe Burrow era, the Bengals starting offensive line will
- 2:20Speaker 1: return intact. Now. Admittedly, they were looking to upgrade in
- 2:24Speaker 1: previous offseasons, but that wasn't necessary this year. Beginning with
- 2:28Speaker 1: the Green Bay game in mid October, so we're talking
- 2:31Speaker 1: about the final twelve games of the year. Pro Football
- 2:34Speaker 1: Focus had the Bengals O line graded sixth in the
- 2:38Speaker 1: league in pass protection. Sixth, not top half. We're talking
- 2:43Speaker 1: in the top twenty percent. And again it's not a
- 2:46Speaker 1: small sample size. That was for a dozen games. Dalton
- 2:50Speaker 1: Reisner started nine of them, and we'll be back at
- 2:53Speaker 1: right guard for at least one more year. One day
- 2:57Speaker 1: after the season ended, Amarius Mims cam pain for the
- 3:00Speaker 1: Bengals to bring Reisner back.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I want him back. I want to do my right
- 3:04Speaker 2: guard for as long as I'm here. And I think
- 3:06Speaker 2: he's the best right guard in the NFL. So I really,
- 3:10Speaker 2: I really, like I said, I really hope he can
- 3:12Speaker 2: get signed back. But in about thirty minutes, I'll be
- 3:14Speaker 2: posted that Darton Rosely back, So that will be happening today.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Best starting right guard in the NFL. That's a strong statement.
- 3:21Speaker 3: My opinion.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I mean, I feel like, you know, weekend and week out,
- 3:23Speaker 2: he showed that, you know, he's a great player, and
- 3:26Speaker 2: you know the communication part and how good we play together.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I feel like he's one of the best. So you know,
- 3:31Speaker 2: I'll stand on it.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher didn't go so far as calling
- 3:35Speaker 1: Reisner the best right guard in the league, but did
- 3:38Speaker 1: sing his praises before the end of the season. Thlam
- 3:41Speaker 1: does a lot of little.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Things that are unspectacular, but they matter. He just brings
- 3:49Speaker 4: savviness and positive energy. He's I mean almost it's almost
- 3:55Speaker 4: every play he's the first guy down there to grab
- 3:57Speaker 4: the guy off the ground like those are.
- 3:59Speaker 3: That's a that.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Doesn't affect the execution of what just happened in the play,
- 4:02Speaker 1: but it absolutely affects the health of the team and
- 4:04Speaker 1: the health.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Of the unit and the chemistry.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And so he does a lot of little things on
- 4:10Speaker 1: top of just being a good football player. Reisner signed
- 4:12Speaker 1: a new contract around nine thirty in the morning on Monday,
- 4:15Speaker 1: spent some time with Mike Brown and other members of
- 4:18Speaker 1: the front office, and then was kind enough to sit
- 4:21Speaker 1: down with me for this one on one conversation. Dalton.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Last year you signed eleven days before the start of
- 4:29Speaker 1: the regular season. Today is six months and eleven days
- 4:33Speaker 1: from the first Sunday up next season. Are you relieved
- 4:37Speaker 1: to have this done now? Wow?
- 4:39Speaker 4: Wait, nice job looking at the days. That's crazy six
- 4:42Speaker 4: So I have a six month advantage. I mean I
- 4:45Speaker 4: was just about to get into it to it, but
- 4:47Speaker 4: I am so it's almost not it is a I
- 4:50Speaker 4: am relieved.
- 4:51Speaker 3: You know, it's so tough. The last three years, I've.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Been picked up the second week of September, the last
- 4:57Speaker 4: day in August, this last year, June, year before, and
- 5:01Speaker 4: it's always been a rat race to get myself mentally
- 5:04Speaker 4: and physically ready. But at the same token, I the
- 5:07Speaker 4: reason I was able to do that is because I.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Did stay ready.
- 5:10Speaker 4: And I take so much pride in how hard that
- 5:12Speaker 4: was six seven months of my own off season to
- 5:15Speaker 4: make sure I stay prepared to come in here and
- 5:17Speaker 4: play for these different teams. But regardless, this is where
- 5:20Speaker 4: I wanted to be the whole time. And you never
- 5:24Speaker 4: know when you go in and you play football every
- 5:26Speaker 4: year if it's going to be your last. Because with
- 5:28Speaker 4: this job is such a the way I look at
- 5:30Speaker 4: it is such a blessing. And taking a league minimum
- 5:34Speaker 4: deal and showing up on a team September first and
- 5:38Speaker 4: not playing the best in your second game, thought I
- 5:40Speaker 4: played well in Cleveland, but not playing well and kind
- 5:43Speaker 4: of losing your job.
- 5:45Speaker 3: You know, it didn't look it didn't look good from.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Where Dalton Riser was at, and I just am so
- 5:50Speaker 4: grateful to be sitting here today, and I feel overwhelmed
- 5:54Speaker 4: with like gratitude for where I'm at and to be
- 5:58Speaker 4: signed back with the Bengals. I'm not acting like I'm
- 5:59Speaker 4: signing a four year extension that is ridiculous money, but
- 6:02Speaker 4: for me and where I come from and.
- 6:04Speaker 3: The story and the journey that I have, I'm so
- 6:06Speaker 3: thrilled to.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Be here and so grateful for like everybody man like
- 6:11Speaker 4: all the way up to the Brown family, to Duke,
- 6:14Speaker 4: to Steve, to Zach, to Pitch, to Scott Peters, down
- 6:18Speaker 4: to everyone in the media department and Jeff and Dan,
- 6:21Speaker 4: you know what I mean.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Everybody Like I wish that the cafeteria was.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Open so I could go hug everyone there, so I
- 6:26Speaker 4: better stop there.
- 6:27Speaker 3: But very relieved and grateful.
- 6:29Speaker 1: At the end of the season, you told me the
- 6:31Speaker 1: following quote, I feel overwhelmed by the unwavering love and
- 6:35Speaker 1: support of my teammates and coaches. That is a powerful statement.
- 6:40Speaker 1: How did they show that to you?
- 6:42Speaker 4: They showed it by being so outspoken about wanting to
- 6:45Speaker 4: have me back. I've been in the NFL for eight
- 6:47Speaker 4: years now, and I've never had teammates. I've had teammates
- 6:50Speaker 4: tell me behind closed doors all the time how much
- 6:53Speaker 4: they loved me and that's a really cool thing and
- 6:55Speaker 4: want me back, But then to take it to the
- 6:57Speaker 4: next step and publicly come out and talk about how
- 7:00Speaker 4: much they want me back. For a Marius Mems to
- 7:02Speaker 4: do that, for Ted Carris to do that, I know,
- 7:05Speaker 4: Joe Burrow doesn't really didn't really ever maybe say it
- 7:07Speaker 4: to media reporters, but he made it very clear to me.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Joe Burrow was contacting me throughout the whole offseason, staying
- 7:13Speaker 4: in touch with me and how this deal was going.
- 7:15Speaker 4: And Scott Peters and Zach Taylor, and yeah, it's really
- 7:21Speaker 4: cool that they all said that, but it's so cool
- 7:23Speaker 4: that they all took the next step in being proactive
- 7:25Speaker 4: of checking.
- 7:26Speaker 3: In and really wanting this thing done.
- 7:27Speaker 4: And I think you always see if people really mean
- 7:30Speaker 4: something by if they just say it once and it's
- 7:32Speaker 4: kind of left at that, or do they continue to
- 7:35Speaker 4: check in, do they continue to wonder, they continue to
- 7:37Speaker 4: ask you, do they continue to be outspoken about it?
- 7:39Speaker 3: And that's exactly what they did.
- 7:41Speaker 4: And that's why I feel the way I do today
- 7:42Speaker 4: is because of all the people that made this happen.
- 7:44Speaker 4: It wasn't just Dalton Reisner having a good season and
- 7:48Speaker 4: the Bengals wanting to re sign me. That's what the
- 7:51Speaker 4: story will be, but there was a lot more behind
- 7:52Speaker 4: the scenes.
- 7:53Speaker 1: In my opinion, As you mentioned, you basically played for
- 7:56Speaker 1: the veteran minimum last year. You don't get to do
- 7:59Speaker 1: this for wherever. Did you feel like you had to
- 8:02Speaker 1: make up for that a little bit as you negotiated
- 8:04Speaker 1: a new deal?
- 8:05Speaker 3: I did.
- 8:06Speaker 4: And you know, in this league, you always have so
- 8:09Speaker 4: many people that doubt you. And when I took this deal,
- 8:13Speaker 4: I won't say any names, but there was a few
- 8:15Speaker 4: people that even mentioned to me and said, once you
- 8:17Speaker 4: take a deal like this, you'll never get out. And
- 8:21Speaker 4: I'm not saying that I knew I was gonna defeat that,
- 8:24Speaker 4: but it really infuriated me because I never liked to
- 8:26Speaker 4: have a ceiling put on what I can do and
- 8:29Speaker 4: what I take a lot of pride in dan is
- 8:31Speaker 4: when I was binged and I was on a league
- 8:34Speaker 4: minimum deal and I was in year seven, you have
- 8:36Speaker 4: two choices in that time, and it's don't it's either
- 8:40Speaker 4: be who Dalton is or be who Dalton is and
- 8:42Speaker 4: who is Dalton gonna be? It's do I put my
- 8:44Speaker 4: head down and do I say this is it and
- 8:46Speaker 4: I change my character and I pout, or I put
- 8:48Speaker 4: my head down and I grind and I make sure
- 8:51Speaker 4: that if I get another opportunity, I'm ready to seize it.
- 8:53Speaker 3: And that's exactly what I did.
- 8:54Speaker 4: And man, I'm just so grateful that I did, because
- 8:58Speaker 4: coming off of a deal like that, it's hard to
- 8:59Speaker 4: sign another deal. And like I said, it wasn't just.
- 9:02Speaker 3: The way I played.
- 9:03Speaker 4: It was my teammates, it was my coaches, it was
- 9:05Speaker 4: you guys, it was the fan base. I have to
- 9:07Speaker 4: give a huge shout out to the fan base. I
- 9:10Speaker 4: want to talk about unwavering love. I mean, man, they've
- 9:12Speaker 4: been so supportive, not only this year and last year,
- 9:15Speaker 4: but back to when I was even drafted in the
- 9:17Speaker 4: draft process. You know, these guys were pounding the table
- 9:20Speaker 4: for me. So it's a full circle moment. And I
- 9:24Speaker 4: was talking to Orlando Brown last night and he said
- 9:26Speaker 4: it's time to put on the.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Stripes again, and I couldn't agree more. Man, it's time
- 9:29Speaker 3: to do that.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Let's talk about how you played. Your overall Pro Football
- 9:33Speaker 1: Focus grade was the highest of your career. Does this
- 9:37Speaker 1: offense suit your skill set particularly well? Did Scott Peters
- 9:41Speaker 1: coaching help? What was it? Why did you play so well?
- 9:46Speaker 4: Before I answer this, make sure that this segment gets
- 9:50Speaker 4: to Scott Peters because this means a lot to me.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Scott Peters and Mike McCarthy believed in me from whenever
- 9:57Speaker 4: I came in, and they gave me an opportunity. And
- 9:59Speaker 4: that's them, that's pitch and that's Zach too. But the
- 10:03Speaker 4: way in which they coach. Scott Peters believes in what
- 10:06Speaker 4: he does, and what Scott Peters does is unconventional. Scott
- 10:10Speaker 4: Peters and what he teaches might ruffle feathers from some
- 10:14Speaker 4: people when it starts because it's unconventional and it's different.
- 10:18Speaker 4: But Scott Peters believes in what he teaches, and I
- 10:21Speaker 4: believe in Scott Peters and what he teaches so much.
- 10:25Speaker 4: I've told so many people since the season was over,
- 10:27Speaker 4: select stories of how this man will coach you, and
- 10:31Speaker 4: you see it directly payoff.
- 10:32Speaker 1: In the game.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Sometimes when you're in NFL, Dan, I've been doing this
- 10:36Speaker 4: my whole life. Sometimes you wonder how much more can
- 10:38Speaker 4: a coach coach me? This is my profession. This is
- 10:40Speaker 4: something I've been doing my whole life, Like, how much
- 10:42Speaker 4: more do I really need to know? I know how
- 10:44Speaker 4: to block a guy. Scott Peters has changed that. Scott
- 10:47Speaker 4: Peters is one of my will always be one of
- 10:49Speaker 4: my favorite coaches and my whole, my whole football career.
- 10:52Speaker 3: And that's wild.
- 10:53Speaker 4: I was only with the guys for five six months.
- 10:55Speaker 4: I love his story. I love what Scott Peters.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Is all about. The grind and the grit.
- 11:03Speaker 4: And getting out of the mud of his NFL story
- 11:05Speaker 4: and his life story has made him who he is today,
- 11:07Speaker 4: and it's made him believe in what he does. And
- 11:10Speaker 4: I think he changed me as a player, and I
- 11:12Speaker 4: think he changed my career path and the trajectory of
- 11:15Speaker 4: where I'm going in the NFL. I think that I
- 11:17Speaker 4: needed this growth. I needed someone to push me and
- 11:19Speaker 4: get me uncomfortable. I mean, I remember a story. I
- 11:21Speaker 4: gotta share it with you. I was playing the Minnesota Vikings.
- 11:25Speaker 4: This was Week three of the season. So I played
- 11:27Speaker 4: really good against Cleveland, didn't play good against Jacksonville. Here's
- 11:31Speaker 4: this guy continuing to coach me, continue to work me
- 11:33Speaker 4: throughout the week.
- 11:33Speaker 3: And I'm going against a guy Naed John Allen.
- 11:35Speaker 4: John Allen is one of the better defensive tackles in
- 11:37Speaker 4: my era, in my opinion, and he's got this amazing move.
- 11:40Speaker 4: He clubs and he gets underneath of you. And John
- 11:43Speaker 4: Allen doesn't detach, He just drives you. And you can
- 11:46Speaker 4: go look up clips today.
- 11:47Speaker 3: I recommend you do this.
- 11:47Speaker 4: You will see clip after clip of John Allen underneath
- 11:51Speaker 4: a guy hooked in with his arm, just driving him
- 11:53Speaker 4: into the quarterback. That's his move, that's his bread and butter.
- 11:56Speaker 4: And he does it to almost everybody in the league,
- 11:57Speaker 4: some of the best of guys. And Scott knows. Scott
- 12:01Speaker 4: goes most coaches right, Hey, die a slow death if
- 12:05Speaker 4: he's not getting a sack. You gotta just do what
- 12:08Speaker 4: you do, do the technique that I teach. Scott breaks
- 12:10Speaker 4: it down and says, no, I have select things that
- 12:13Speaker 4: we're gonna do for this guy, and we're not gonna
- 12:15Speaker 4: do it all week, but I'm gonna teach you a
- 12:16Speaker 4: move and this is how I think you can beat it.
- 12:18Speaker 4: And he gives you options, and I told him, I
- 12:20Speaker 4: think I like this option regardless, without putting all the
- 12:23Speaker 4: fluff into it.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I work it with Scott. I buy into it.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I try it during the Minnesota game. John tries to
- 12:29Speaker 4: get underneath of me, and I hop back, which is
- 12:32Speaker 4: the technique he taught me to do and pin my
- 12:34Speaker 4: elbows and I stonewall him right there. And I'm not
- 12:37Speaker 4: saying it because it makes me look good. I'm saying
- 12:39Speaker 4: it because that's an example of how I think he's
- 12:41Speaker 4: just a great coach and what he does. Really, I
- 12:44Speaker 4: see payoff on Sunday, and I think I'm so excited
- 12:47Speaker 4: to see him.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Go to work again for year eight in the NFL.
- 12:49Speaker 3: It's gonna be fun now.
- 12:50Speaker 1: John Allen knows the hot back.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, I know, I know John Allen knows
- 12:53Speaker 4: the hot backs coming. But I don't think we play
- 12:56Speaker 4: the Vikings this year, and I'd rather see.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Him do it to someone else me.
- 13:01Speaker 1: As you noted, Amarus Mims publicly campaigned for you to
- 13:05Speaker 1: come back. He said to me, he's the best right
- 13:08Speaker 1: guard in the NFL. He's seven years younger than you are.
- 13:11Speaker 1: But it seems like you two guys have really bonded.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Is that the case? And have you made an effort
- 13:16Speaker 1: to try to take him under your wing?
- 13:18Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, first of all, bold statement by my boy.
- 13:22Speaker 4: We all know it's probably not true, but what a
- 13:24Speaker 4: great what a great thing for him to.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Say about me. That really warms my heart.
- 13:28Speaker 4: He is going to be an All Pro tackle and
- 13:30Speaker 4: he's going to be a Pro Bowl tackle. I told
- 13:32Speaker 4: him that last night on the phone. I call him
- 13:35Speaker 4: baby boy, That's what I call him. And he has
- 13:38Speaker 4: so much natural and God given ability, paired with great
- 13:44Speaker 4: competitiveness and a will to get better and a desire
- 13:47Speaker 4: to be better. So I can't wait to see what
- 13:50Speaker 4: Amarus Mims continues to do in his career. And I
- 13:52Speaker 4: will do anything and everything for that man. I'll put
- 13:55Speaker 4: my own career on the line, my own job security
- 13:58Speaker 4: on the line, to make him look good. I mean
- 14:00Speaker 4: that I'm at the point in my career where I
- 14:03Speaker 4: want to see him succeed.
- 14:04Speaker 3: The opportunity for me.
- 14:06Speaker 4: For a four year deal and for some of those
- 14:08Speaker 4: things might be passed, and that's completely okay. I want
- 14:11Speaker 4: to see him succeed. He's such a good young man.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Like you said, he's so young. Mims is literally the
- 14:17Speaker 4: age of my youngest brother. I'm one of five boys,
- 14:19Speaker 4: and I hang out with my youngest brother.
- 14:21Speaker 3: I'm like, who WHA? I work next to somebody that's.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Your age, and I just love him so much that
- 14:26Speaker 4: I want to see him succeed more than me. And
- 14:28Speaker 4: that's a bold statement, but I really do mean it.
- 14:30Speaker 4: So I'm going to do everything I can this year
- 14:32Speaker 4: for him to have a successful year.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Dan Pitchers had some really nice things about you at
- 14:37Speaker 1: the end of the year and noted the fact that
- 14:39Speaker 1: you are usually the first guy to help a teammate
- 14:43Speaker 1: or a ball carrier get up, you know, at the
- 14:45Speaker 1: end of the play. Is that a conscious thing on
- 14:48Speaker 1: your part? Do you think that matters?
- 14:50Speaker 4: I think it matters a lot because of the makeup
- 14:53Speaker 4: of who I am as a football player. I've never
- 14:55Speaker 4: been the biggest, or fastest or strongest. You've sat next
- 14:59Speaker 4: to guys that are a lot bigger than me, You've
- 15:01Speaker 4: sent next guys that are stronger than me. And when
- 15:03Speaker 4: people watch tape, there's guys that are more talented than me.
- 15:06Speaker 4: And one thing I was taught at a young age,
- 15:09Speaker 4: but one thing that I take a lot of pride
- 15:10Speaker 4: in is not letting.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Anyone outwork me.
- 15:13Speaker 4: Like I can look back on a game and say,
- 15:15Speaker 4: hey you ran me over, or hey you swam me,
- 15:17Speaker 4: or whatever it may be. But I'm not gonna look
- 15:20Speaker 4: back at a game and say you worked harder than me.
- 15:22Speaker 3: If I lose a.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Rep because I'm not working hard enough, or my running
- 15:25Speaker 4: back is picking himself off the ground because I didn't
- 15:27Speaker 4: hustle downfield to pick them up, and that's shame on me,
- 15:29Speaker 4: in my opinion. I take so much pride, and when
- 15:32Speaker 4: I'm done with this career of mine, I want to
- 15:34Speaker 4: look back and say I left everything out there, and
- 15:37Speaker 4: I want my kids to watch my film someday and say, like,
- 15:40Speaker 4: why are you running downfield and why are you doing that?
- 15:43Speaker 4: You're wasting your energy. You got to play football well.
- 15:45Speaker 4: To me, that's more important than even the game itself.
- 15:48Speaker 4: I mean, I think that tells everybody about That tells
- 15:50Speaker 4: everything about somebody is what they're willing to do for
- 15:52Speaker 4: the people around them.
- 15:54Speaker 3: And I'm not perfect at it and I can always
- 15:56Speaker 3: do better.
- 15:57Speaker 4: But it was so cool that he noticed that, Like man,
- 16:01Speaker 4: it's I wrote it down on my phone because he
- 16:03Speaker 4: called me out in the mid of a meeting and
- 16:04Speaker 4: talked about how important it was. And I've never had
- 16:07Speaker 4: a coach do that, and I've done that my whole career,
- 16:09Speaker 4: So I don't know I'm not trying to get too deep,
- 16:11Speaker 4: but I.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Just feel seen here.
- 16:12Speaker 4: I've told everybody that this whole offseason, like I've never
- 16:15Speaker 4: felt seen like I have in this At the Cincinnati
- 16:18Speaker 4: Bengals in.
- 16:19Speaker 1: The second half of the season, the Bengals offensive line,
- 16:22Speaker 1: I think, was graded eighth best in pass blocking by
- 16:25Speaker 1: Pro Football Focus. I don't really get the sense that
- 16:29Speaker 1: the national media or the rest of the world has
- 16:32Speaker 1: caught on to the fact of how well the Bengals
- 16:34Speaker 1: offensive line played. Do you guys feel that do you
- 16:38Speaker 1: want the acclaim that, hey, Cincinnati's offensive line not only
- 16:42Speaker 1: isn't a problem anymore, it's good.
- 16:45Speaker 3: We'll we'll let our storytell itself.
- 16:48Speaker 4: You know, we're not gonna We're not gonna push the agenda.
- 16:50Speaker 4: No one wants to admit the agenda. The Eagles, all
- 16:53Speaker 4: these other offensive lines, they're the ones that are supposed
- 16:55Speaker 4: to be the best. No one wants to write the
- 16:56Speaker 4: story about the Bengals offensive line being really good because
- 16:59Speaker 4: no one believes it. That hasn't been the case. I'm
- 17:01Speaker 4: not gonna act like I've been here, but we all
- 17:03Speaker 4: know that.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Hasn't been the case.
- 17:04Speaker 4: So what we don't want to do and I don't
- 17:06Speaker 4: think I speak for everybody. What I'd imagine I do
- 17:09Speaker 4: is be open about it and push that agenda.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Why, because we have work to do.
- 17:12Speaker 4: We're not satisfied, So we're not going to go out
- 17:14Speaker 4: and push this agenda and make sure everyone knows just
- 17:17Speaker 4: because we're eighth, Because we want to be better than eighth.
- 17:18Speaker 4: I mean, we want to protect the best quarterback in
- 17:21Speaker 4: the league. We want to go win a Super Bowl.
- 17:22Speaker 4: We want to be the best offense in the league.
- 17:23Speaker 4: We want to get the ball to Jamar and t
- 17:25Speaker 4: So it's a couple of reasons. I don't think anyone
- 17:28Speaker 4: wants to write that story too. We don't want to
- 17:30Speaker 4: push it because we have room to grow and people
- 17:33Speaker 4: are gonna find out sooner or later.
- 17:35Speaker 3: The story I'll tell itself.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Speaking of the best quarterback in the league. Where's your fossil?
- 17:39Speaker 4: Where's my fossil? It's back in Florida. Actually it's not
- 17:42Speaker 4: back in Florida. We took it back to Florida safe
- 17:44Speaker 4: and securely from Cincinnati, and then we shipped it through
- 17:47Speaker 4: a moving company to Kansas. Because you're thinking Florida or Kansas.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Where does a huge bullhead with horns belong. I think
- 17:55Speaker 4: it belongs in Kansas. So I'm still trying to get
- 17:58Speaker 4: my wife to approve it getting mound on the wall
- 18:00Speaker 4: in the living room, but I don't know what she's
- 18:02Speaker 4: gonna say, so regardless, it'll be a that's one of
- 18:05Speaker 4: the coolest.
- 18:07Speaker 3: That's one of the coolest gifts.
- 18:08Speaker 4: I've gotten from anyone in the NFL and one of
- 18:10Speaker 4: my favorite. And I say that because it had so
- 18:12Speaker 4: much of Burrow written all over it.
- 18:14Speaker 3: He got us a gift that he would love. He
- 18:16Speaker 3: got us a gift that was cool to him. He
- 18:18Speaker 3: could write it.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Everyone knows Burrow could write a check for a golf cart.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Burrow can write a check for anything. You could just
- 18:23Speaker 3: write us individual checks.
- 18:24Speaker 4: But he took time to say, let me go and
- 18:26Speaker 4: dig deep into stuff that I actually enjoy and give
- 18:29Speaker 4: it to my teammates. And I'll forever look at it
- 18:31Speaker 4: and say, Man, that's Joe Burrow written all over it.
- 18:33Speaker 4: So I'm stoked about it.
- 18:34Speaker 1: You'll have a story forever.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Yep, you're dang right, a three million year old story.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Final thing for Dalton Reisner free agency league wide is
- 18:43Speaker 1: just around the corner. Did you leave some money for
- 18:45Speaker 1: the Bengals to add defensive players.
- 18:47Speaker 4: You're dang right, I did. Man, You're dang right I did.
- 18:49Speaker 4: I got to the point where I was like, let's
- 18:51Speaker 4: get this deal done. I don't need to ask for
- 18:54Speaker 4: the world. I think that I very easily could have
- 18:57Speaker 4: went to free agency and seeing what other teams are
- 18:59Speaker 4: willing to pay me or pay me more than a
- 19:01Speaker 4: one year extension. But for me and I only share
- 19:04Speaker 4: that information because this is where I wanted to be
- 19:06Speaker 4: and I want to make sure that people know that.
- 19:08Speaker 3: And I'm a man of my word.
- 19:09Speaker 4: When I left, I said this is where I wanted
- 19:10Speaker 4: to be, and I wasn't kidding, so I could care
- 19:12Speaker 4: less if another NFL team wanted to get me on
- 19:14Speaker 4: a two or three year deal or maybe pay me
- 19:16Speaker 4: a little more cash per year. Cincinnati Bengals is the
- 19:18Speaker 4: team I wanted to be a part of, so I
- 19:20Speaker 4: think there'll be some big moves made and let's go.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Win some football games.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Man, Like your teammates, coaches and Bengals fans, I am
- 19:26Speaker 1: thrilled to have you back. Congratulations, thanks brother, I appreciate you.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Dan, God bless.
- 19:31Speaker 1: After our conversation, I told Dalton that when his playing
- 19:34Speaker 1: career is finished. He could have a very bright future
- 19:37Speaker 1: in broadcasting. He's articulate, interesting, entertaining, and honest. And later
- 19:44Speaker 1: to come on this podcast, you'll hear an encore presentation
- 19:48Speaker 1: of My fun Facts interview with Dalton from early last season, where,
- 19:51Speaker 1: among other things, you'll learn about his childhood and a
- 19:54Speaker 1: no stoplight one restaurant hometown, and how he earned pizza
- 19:59Speaker 1: as a kid by memorizing Bible versus but First, at
- 20:04Speaker 1: the NFL combine last week, I caught up with NFL
- 20:08Speaker 1: network analytics expert Cynthia Freeland to discuss what it's going
- 20:12Speaker 1: to take to get the Bengals back into Super Bowl contention. Cynthia,
- 20:17Speaker 1: in your first mock draft, you had the Bengals selecting
- 20:20Speaker 1: Ohio State safety Caleb Downs. He is probably the number
- 20:24Speaker 1: one player that Bengals fans would like to see wind
- 20:28Speaker 1: up in Cincinnati. Explain your process and how you wound
- 20:31Speaker 1: up with Caleb Downs and the Bengals.
- 20:33Speaker 5: I use the analytics process, which basically uses a lot
- 20:36Speaker 5: of numbers to so I don't blind myself to the
- 20:39Speaker 5: jersey right.
- 20:39Speaker 6: Ohio State.
- 20:40Speaker 5: It's a great school, great reputation, awesome, but Caleb Downs
- 20:44Speaker 5: is so special.
- 20:45Speaker 6: My stuff loves him for safety, for nicol, like you
- 20:49Speaker 6: name it.
- 20:49Speaker 5: He's just so multiple and versatile. So there's a little
- 20:53Speaker 5: s next to his name. But I don't really know.
- 20:56Speaker 5: I mean nickibn Ware, I think is a good example
- 20:58Speaker 5: of like I think you played like twelve snaps at
- 21:00Speaker 5: true safety last year for the Seahawks, and you saw
- 21:03Speaker 5: how effective he was ever round. So that kind of
- 21:06Speaker 5: profile added to where the Bengals are maybe having looking
- 21:10Speaker 5: to fill some holes, is how it paired them together.
- 21:14Speaker 1: The Bengals took Shamar Stewart in the first round last year,
- 21:16Speaker 1: a guy known more for his traits than his college production.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Keldric Falk from Auburn is a similar type of guy.
- 21:24Speaker 1: This year, some people are saying he would be a
- 21:26Speaker 1: possibility for Cincinnati at number ten. Where are you on
- 21:29Speaker 1: the traits versus production debate? From an analytical standpoint, what.
- 21:35Speaker 5: I've noticed in this year's draft, now that the transfer
- 21:38Speaker 5: portal is in full swing, everybody's production looks thinner, so
- 21:43Speaker 5: you don't see as many different situations or scenarios, or
- 21:47Speaker 5: perhaps the playbook.
- 21:48Speaker 6: Isn't as thick.
- 21:48Speaker 5: I'm not entirely sure how it's all happening like this,
- 21:51Speaker 5: But people moving school so often, you have to imagine
- 21:55Speaker 5: they're not able to fully learn a system. So you
- 21:58Speaker 5: have to go more on trade now than you ever
- 22:01Speaker 5: have before. However, I think it's like six to one,
- 22:04Speaker 5: half a dozen of another. I think it depends on
- 22:06Speaker 5: the position and all these interviews and all the thirty visits.
- 22:11Speaker 6: In your building. Let's go watch some film together. Let's
- 22:14Speaker 6: see if you.
- 22:15Speaker 5: Pick up all the different things that you're supposed to
- 22:17Speaker 5: be picking up. Can you learn our system and.
- 22:19Speaker 6: Can you execute it? That's where the magic of scouting
- 22:23Speaker 6: really comes in.
- 22:24Speaker 1: So we're here at the combine. Everybody's obviously talking about
- 22:27Speaker 1: the draft, but for the Bengals, the mission this offseason
- 22:30Speaker 1: is really to fix the defense. They know the offense
- 22:32Speaker 1: is fine, they need to get better on defense. So
- 22:34Speaker 1: there's a free agency component that's coming up soon. Should
- 22:38Speaker 1: a team sign a star or are you better off
- 22:43Speaker 1: using those dollars on several mid tier guys? For lack
- 22:48Speaker 1: of a.
- 22:48Speaker 5: Better word, Am I living in a world where a
- 22:51Speaker 5: Tree Hendrickson has gone?
- 22:52Speaker 1: Yes?
- 22:53Speaker 5: Yes, I'm living in a world where he's gone. Okay,
- 22:55Speaker 5: So I just I don't know where we are with that,
- 22:57Speaker 5: but I think you need to mix both. You need
- 23:01Speaker 5: the right people who are average that in your system
- 23:04Speaker 5: operate in above average ways.
- 23:06Speaker 6: But you do need a few anchor positions. I mean,
- 23:09Speaker 6: think about the team.
- 23:10Speaker 5: We were talking about Jamar Chase and how great you
- 23:12Speaker 5: do radio calls for Jamar Chase right and Joe Burrow obviously,
- 23:16Speaker 5: but if you don't have a few of those on
- 23:18Speaker 5: the defense, it's much harder to live, especially I don't know.
- 23:22Speaker 6: It's like, wouldn't you like to maybe sack Lamar Jackson?
- 23:25Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 23:25Speaker 6: It just seems like a good idea to me.
- 23:27Speaker 5: Seems like a smart idea.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Definitely a great idea when possible. We're visiting with Cynthia
- 23:33Speaker 1: Freeland from the NFL Network. The Bengals are mostly a
- 23:36Speaker 1: stick and pick team in the draft. They generally don't
- 23:40Speaker 1: do a ton of wheeling and dealing. Maybe a one
- 23:43Speaker 1: trade per draft. Should a team, as a general rule,
- 23:48Speaker 1: trade down to try to get as many picks as possible.
- 23:52Speaker 6: It depends on the construct of your team.
- 23:53Speaker 5: Now, I will say it probably from ten makes like
- 23:58Speaker 5: there's a weird like cliff that happens. So a lot
- 24:01Speaker 5: of people use a Jimmy Johnson trade chart to kind
- 24:03Speaker 5: of evaluate the equity of all right, I'll give you
- 24:06Speaker 5: my ten to trade down to seventeen, and this is
- 24:08Speaker 5: what those seven picks are worth.
- 24:10Speaker 6: And there's kind of a cliff that happens after ten.
- 24:13Speaker 5: So I will say you could exploit the fact that
- 24:16Speaker 5: you're in the top ten, maybe a little bit more
- 24:18Speaker 5: like you're picking eleven. It's a different trade component that
- 24:22Speaker 5: you get more for your You get more bang for
- 24:24Speaker 5: your buck at ten, right, So I guess it would
- 24:26Speaker 5: depend on what someone was offering.
- 24:28Speaker 6: Now I know we're in Indianapolis.
- 24:31Speaker 5: That deal that the Colts made for Sauce Gardner, that's
- 24:35Speaker 5: set a weird precedent because that's a lot of picks
- 24:38Speaker 5: and a player.
- 24:39Speaker 6: It's just a lot.
- 24:40Speaker 5: So perhaps the world is resetting, the market is resetting
- 24:43Speaker 5: for how many picks go for players in positions?
- 24:46Speaker 6: I'm not sure. But ten is a good spot.
- 24:49Speaker 5: So someone's gonna give you something crazy for it, then
- 24:51Speaker 5: it'd be hard to turn that down. However, you need
- 24:54Speaker 5: to know what crazy really is defined as for your team, I.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Don't get the sense that there's a likelihood that the
- 25:00Speaker 1: Bengals could pull off a trade for Max Crosby. But
- 25:04Speaker 1: if they did, it would probably involve giving up the
- 25:07Speaker 1: tenth pick. And you just talked about the value of
- 25:10Speaker 1: that selection. What do you think, I mean, would it
- 25:12Speaker 1: be worth giving up a pick that valuable for a
- 25:15Speaker 1: guy that's going to be twenty nine at the beginning
- 25:17Speaker 1: of the season. Even as great as he is.
- 25:20Speaker 5: The thing that I really think about Max Crosby is
- 25:23Speaker 5: the ability to stop the run as well. You know,
- 25:25Speaker 5: since he's entered the league seven seasons no defensive end,
- 25:29Speaker 5: so someone who plays where he plays has been better
- 25:31Speaker 5: against the run. I understand he's paid to rush the passer,
- 25:35Speaker 5: but let's talk about being multiple. So I think he
- 25:38Speaker 5: is one of those very special players that is a
- 25:40Speaker 5: tone setter. He shifts a culture, He creates the opportunity
- 25:44Speaker 5: to be a different defense very fast. So I actually
- 25:50Speaker 5: think he might be because I'm looking at some of
- 25:52Speaker 5: these picks and who could be available at ten. There's
- 25:54Speaker 5: a lot of people who, at least right now, kind
- 25:57Speaker 5: of feel like Tweeners.
- 25:58Speaker 6: And I don't know how that. I'm not a defensive coordinator.
- 26:01Speaker 5: I don't get paid to do that, but I don't
- 26:03Speaker 5: know how that all fits together. Given the complexion of
- 26:06Speaker 5: what they're It's hard to know, and I don't meant
- 26:09Speaker 5: to offense. Hard to know what the Bengals defense was
- 26:10Speaker 5: trying to do last year, right, I'm unclear? Right, So
- 26:14Speaker 5: given that, I don't know what they're trying to do
- 26:16Speaker 5: this next year. So if you add pieces that are
- 26:19Speaker 5: tweeener pieces to you don't have the right vision for them,
- 26:22Speaker 5: then you're not really adding a top ten pick. You're
- 26:25Speaker 5: adding something you basically the production you could have gotten
- 26:28Speaker 5: in the twenties, and that would be a miss. Max Crosby,
- 26:31Speaker 5: you know what you're getting, and apart from being from Michigan,
- 26:34Speaker 5: he's pretty awesome.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I want to go back to prior to last year
- 26:39Speaker 1: because you always do a column where you project the
- 26:42Speaker 1: ceiling for teams and the floor for teams, and for
- 26:45Speaker 1: the Bengals, prior to last year, you were like Noster
- 26:47Speaker 1: Damas because the ceiling was nine point nine, the floor
- 26:52Speaker 1: was six. It wound up being six, but your rationale
- 26:55Speaker 1: for that floor was spot on because you did a
- 26:58Speaker 1: model for what a team looks like with Joe Burrow
- 27:02Speaker 1: at quarterback and what a team looks like with just
- 27:05Speaker 1: an average Joe at quarterback.
- 27:08Speaker 6: Yeah, it turns out Joe Burrow's really good news flash.
- 27:11Speaker 6: Yeah no, But I think part of the difference is
- 27:14Speaker 6: my model did not like the Bengals defense. I don't
- 27:16Speaker 6: think I'm alone in that without Joe Burrows.
- 27:20Speaker 5: So if you kind of like we're, you know, like
- 27:23Speaker 5: the scales of justice right, like on one side, you're
- 27:25Speaker 5: weighing Joe Burrow's capabilities, and he can right a lot
- 27:28Speaker 5: of wrongs, but if he's not there, the wrongs compound
- 27:33Speaker 5: and it's really hard. Like there aren't thirty two men
- 27:35Speaker 5: who are qualified to play quarterback. There aren't ten guys
- 27:38Speaker 5: who are.
- 27:39Speaker 6: Great at quarterback. There's like four. We were trying to
- 27:42Speaker 6: name who are guys who you could start a franchise with?
- 27:45Speaker 5: And I'm sitting there and we're it was smartest people
- 27:48Speaker 5: in the league, and we named four.
- 27:50Speaker 6: Four. Obviously, of course Joe's one of the four.
- 27:53Speaker 5: But apart from that, it's you're like, well, in this system, nope,
- 27:59Speaker 5: So Joe's the big X factor.
- 28:03Speaker 1: So every year in the NFL, there's a team or
- 28:05Speaker 1: a few teams that go from being bad to being great.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Patriots won four games two years ago. They went to
- 28:10Speaker 1: the super Bowl. The last time the Bengals went to
- 28:13Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. They won four games the year before,
- 28:15Speaker 1: So it always happens to somebody. The Bengals are hoping
- 28:18Speaker 1: to go from six wins to the Super Bowl next year.
- 28:21Speaker 1: What do they have to do. If you are in
- 28:23Speaker 1: charge of the Cincinnati Bengals, how do you get them
- 28:26Speaker 1: back to that level?
- 28:28Speaker 6: Well, you got Joe. Let's keep him playing and healthy.
- 28:32Speaker 6: That's number one.
- 28:33Speaker 5: I mean, he's one of my favorite players mentally because
- 28:37Speaker 5: I am from the state of Michigan and Matthew Stafford
- 28:39Speaker 5: was in Michigan for a long time and got clobbered
- 28:43Speaker 5: and his toughness was always a huge deal.
- 28:47Speaker 6: Joe Burrow is.
- 28:48Speaker 5: Like, he doesn't even flinch. It's pretty amazing. So keep
- 28:52Speaker 5: Joe healthy. And number two, got to like win the
- 28:55Speaker 5: games you're supposed to win, and a lot of that
- 28:57Speaker 5: will be incremental benefits on defense. Just get a little
- 29:00Speaker 5: bit better on defense. You have the offensive pieces in place.
- 29:03Speaker 5: Keep Joe Burrow healthy. Don't ask him to throw for
- 29:05Speaker 5: five thousand yards. I mean, okay, five thousand maybe don't
- 29:09Speaker 5: ask him to throw over six thousand yards?
- 29:11Speaker 6: How about that? About that? And then that will really
- 29:13Speaker 6: help things.
- 29:14Speaker 1: What do you get out of the combine, What do
- 29:16Speaker 1: you like to look at, who do you like to
- 29:18Speaker 1: talk to? What do you get from being an Indy
- 29:21Speaker 1: in Indy?
- 29:22Speaker 5: I'm trying to especially this year with ten new head coaches,
- 29:24Speaker 5: I'm trying to get a sense of what are people's
- 29:27Speaker 5: philosophies and not what are they like saying, but like
- 29:31Speaker 5: what are they doing?
- 29:32Speaker 6: Because everyone will tell you I'm this I come from
- 29:36Speaker 6: a McVeigh tree or a Shanahan tree. Everyone would like
- 29:39Speaker 6: to do that. Everyone would love to play with a
- 29:41Speaker 6: Joe Barrow, everyone would love to have Christian McCaffrey. We
- 29:44Speaker 6: get it, But what is your real strategy when the
- 29:47Speaker 6: rubber meets the road? Meaning do you have the vision
- 29:49Speaker 6: or not?
- 29:50Speaker 5: We were talking last night about you know, Sean Payton
- 29:53Speaker 5: made a big decision to get rid of Russell Wilson
- 29:55Speaker 5: with a massive contract still left on the table. He
- 29:59Speaker 5: and We're like, does he loved Bonix as much as
- 30:01Speaker 5: he says? And I'm like, I think he had to
- 30:03Speaker 5: convince himself he did because that was the structure of
- 30:06Speaker 5: offense he could get by with given this horrible cap
- 30:10Speaker 5: hit that he had to take away from.
- 30:12Speaker 6: I can win with this guy. I therefore I love him.
- 30:15Speaker 5: So what are your actual strategies and how are you
- 30:18Speaker 5: looking at this new crop of guys coming in and
- 30:20Speaker 5: seeing who fits those strategies in a way that makes
- 30:24Speaker 5: sense for your team.
- 30:24Speaker 6: So you know, no one cares about the measuring. No
- 30:26Speaker 6: one cares about that. It's fun. We love a good
- 30:29Speaker 6: fast run, like we've been doing.
- 30:31Speaker 5: You how many years have you been here? I mean
- 30:32Speaker 5: a lot of years, right, So it's fun when they
- 30:35Speaker 5: do crazy athletic feats. But ultimately, what you're looking at
- 30:39Speaker 5: is like, all right, so who's got a cohesive strategy
- 30:42Speaker 5: that makes sense and is going to stick with it
- 30:44Speaker 5: even if like someone they never thought would be able
- 30:48Speaker 5: to be achieved at such a high position was a
- 30:50Speaker 5: bit I don't know.
- 30:51Speaker 6: We'll see. We'll see.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Three of those ten new head coaches are in the
- 30:56Speaker 1: AFC North, So the Bengals are the only team that's
- 30:58Speaker 1: got their guy back. Do you think that's an advantage
- 31:01Speaker 1: in the short term?
- 31:03Speaker 5: I do actually think it's an advantage because it often
- 31:06Speaker 5: what you see, like people always like the season doesn't
- 31:09Speaker 5: start till October? What season doesn't Some people say till Thanksgiving?
- 31:12Speaker 5: But you have to win those initial games and there
- 31:15Speaker 5: will be a learning curve even for teams with.
- 31:18Speaker 6: A really great quarterback or whatever.
- 31:20Speaker 5: I'm very interested to see some of the strategic decisions
- 31:23Speaker 5: that are made. I mean, Jesse Minter does come from
- 31:25Speaker 5: a Ravens mold, so perhaps that goes a little bit faster,
- 31:29Speaker 5: But I certainly, I certainly think that.
- 31:31Speaker 6: You know, what do I feel about the Steelers? Confused?
- 31:34Speaker 6: I don't know what their defense is?
- 31:36Speaker 4: Like?
- 31:36Speaker 6: Is Aaron Rodgers coming back? For sure?
- 31:37Speaker 5: He's gonna make us wait until July? You know that, Like,
- 31:40Speaker 5: that's just for sure gonna happen. What's going on with
- 31:42Speaker 5: the Browns? Okay, let's just put them aside? Like, so
- 31:45Speaker 5: the question is is to me, can the Bengals beat
- 31:48Speaker 5: the Ravens? And if you get off to a good
- 31:51Speaker 5: start early, that's a good strategy, a good plan to
- 31:54Speaker 5: make that happen.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Cynthia, thank you for coming over to my little corner table.
- 31:59Speaker 1: It really appreciates you. Enjoy your work. Thanks so much.
- 32:03Speaker 6: I love the radio calls. It's my favorite thing to
- 32:05Speaker 6: listen to.
- 32:06Speaker 5: So now I'm going to be like whenever whenever I
- 32:08Speaker 5: hear the Jamar Chase touchdown or whatever, whoever touched out,
- 32:11Speaker 5: I'm going to be like, Oh, he's the best.
- 32:13Speaker 6: Thank you for having me.

- 32:35Speaker 1: promised one of my favorite fun facts interviews from last
- 32:39Speaker 1: season as we get to know the person under the pads.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Time for some fun facts with offensive lineman Dalton Reisner
- 32:47Speaker 1: from Wiggins, Colorado, a small town about an hour away
- 32:50Speaker 1: from Denver. I've read that you grew up on a farm.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Was that the case and do you fit the stereotype
- 32:56Speaker 1: of being country strong from working on the farm as
- 32:59Speaker 1: a game, I'd.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Say most definitely.
- 33:01Speaker 4: You know, I always have to say we didn't grow
- 33:03Speaker 4: up on a farm. We grew up on a ranch
- 33:05Speaker 4: because we have fifty head of cattle, pigs, horses, dogs,
- 33:09Speaker 4: the whole get out. And we had one hundred acres
- 33:11Speaker 4: right and I was bull riding. I was a bull
- 33:13Speaker 4: rider growing up, I barrel raced, I tried to rope
- 33:16Speaker 4: calves at one point. And I grew up working on farms,
- 33:19Speaker 4: So you know farms when it comes to to wheat
- 33:22Speaker 4: harvest and corn and millet and you name it out there,
- 33:26Speaker 4: you know, I worked for a bunch of farmers I worked.
- 33:29Speaker 4: I worked at a dairy farm growing up as well.
- 33:31Speaker 4: So whether it was building barbari fence, branding cattle, scoop
- 33:36Speaker 4: and poop at the dairy farm, or walk into wheat
- 33:39Speaker 4: fields for rye, That's what I.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Grew up doing.
- 33:41Speaker 4: So any type of physical strength I have, I'm gonna
- 33:44Speaker 4: have to attest it to that.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Just how small is Wiggins?
- 33:48Speaker 4: Wiggins is about When I was going to school there,
- 33:50Speaker 4: it was about eight to nine hundred people in the
- 33:52Speaker 4: whole town. I want to say it's about fifteen hundred
- 33:55Speaker 4: or more now I haven't looked it up. But when
- 33:57Speaker 4: I was going to school, there was one a football,
- 33:59Speaker 4: so it's a slow. It was the smallest classification of
- 34:01Speaker 4: eleven man football. There were seventeen guys on my football team.
- 34:04Speaker 4: So I was on kickoff, kick return, punt return, I
- 34:07Speaker 4: was linebacker on defense. You played every single way, so
- 34:10Speaker 4: up until college. I was like, oh, I don't have
- 34:11Speaker 4: to play one way.
- 34:12Speaker 3: This is wild. So you had to be in very
- 34:14Speaker 3: good shape.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Obviously the level of athleticism wasn't very good at the
- 34:19Speaker 4: one A level. But regardless, that's how small it was.
- 34:21Speaker 4: There's no stoplights, one restaurant, count two if you count
- 34:25Speaker 4: the chicken tenders at the gas station, which I love
- 34:28Speaker 4: the chicken tenders at the gas station, stubs, gas and
- 34:30Speaker 4: oil shout out. Other than that, there is a hardware store,
- 34:34Speaker 4: a school, and all the farmers and ranchers that live
- 34:38Speaker 4: in the town.
- 34:38Speaker 3: That's about it, man, that's the size of Wiggins.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Your dad was your coach in high school? Did he
- 34:43Speaker 1: treat you like everybody else? Or was he especially hard
- 34:47Speaker 1: on you?
- 34:47Speaker 4: To make a point, Oh, he gave me the special treatment.
- 34:49Speaker 4: And by special treatment, I don't mean he gave me anything. Man,
- 34:52Speaker 4: he was hard on me. This is back when coaches
- 34:54Speaker 4: could grab you by your face mask.
- 34:56Speaker 3: And get in your face. That's not really allowed nowadays.
- 34:59Speaker 4: But and my dad created the pee wee football program
- 35:03Speaker 4: in our small town. When we moved to Wiggins, there
- 35:05Speaker 4: was no pee wee football program, so he started a
- 35:08Speaker 4: pee wee football program. I'm one of five boys. So
- 35:11Speaker 4: I was the third boy in line, and we all
- 35:13Speaker 4: went through the Pew football program. When the two older
- 35:16Speaker 4: boys got to junior high, he became the junior high coach.
- 35:19Speaker 4: He coached me through junior high and by the time
- 35:21Speaker 4: I was getting to eighth grade, he wanted to become
- 35:23Speaker 4: the high school football coach in Wiggins. You have to
- 35:26Speaker 4: be on the teaching staff to be a football coach.
- 35:30Speaker 4: My dad the guy he is, and this is why
- 35:33Speaker 4: he is a full time job, right And he goes
- 35:35Speaker 4: and petitions and gets the whole town of eight hundred people.
- 35:38Speaker 4: I think he got six hundred signatures to take to
- 35:40Speaker 4: the school board to say that they wanted him to
- 35:42Speaker 4: be their head high school football coach. And he kind
- 35:45Speaker 4: of strong armed the school board and he became the
- 35:47Speaker 4: head football coach without happened to be at the school.
- 35:50Speaker 4: And yeah, coached all of us five boys through high school,
- 35:53Speaker 4: went to a state championship, had some success.
- 35:55Speaker 1: The voters spoke the voters. When it came time to
- 35:59Speaker 1: pick a college, you chose Kansas State, about seven hours away.
- 36:03Speaker 4: Y k State, you know, Kansas State was one of
- 36:05Speaker 4: those teams I just felt like fit my mold it
- 36:07Speaker 4: was a blue collar program. It was run by Bill
- 36:11Speaker 4: Snyder at the time, and I felt like the staff
- 36:13Speaker 4: was more interested in molding me into a young man
- 36:17Speaker 4: and a follower of Jesus and just a good human being,
- 36:20Speaker 4: maybe as a father and as a son before a
- 36:22Speaker 4: football player. And not everything glitters it glows. But I
- 36:26Speaker 4: really enjoyed my time at Kansas State. It was perfect
- 36:29Speaker 4: for me. I was a kid that needed time to grow,
- 36:31Speaker 4: so I red shirted and you know, seven hours up
- 36:34Speaker 4: the road from where I lived in Wiggans, Colorado, and
- 36:36Speaker 4: it just kind of it kind of fit the mold
- 36:37Speaker 4: for a kid coming from Wiggins, Colorado.
- 36:39Speaker 1: You had a great career Kansas State, and then after
- 36:42Speaker 1: that a dream came true in twenty nineteen in the
- 36:44Speaker 1: NFL Draft, when you were selected by your childhood team,
- 36:48Speaker 1: the Denver Broncos in the second round. Describe that draft experience.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Oh, it was wild. I mean, I'm such a competitor.
- 36:53Speaker 4: I remember I was so ticked off that night because
- 36:55Speaker 4: I felt like I should be a first round draft pick.
- 36:57Speaker 4: Looking back, I'm like, man, you should have been jumping
- 36:59Speaker 4: up and off the walls, which I was so excited.
- 37:01Speaker 4: John Elway called me when I was at Elway's in
- 37:04Speaker 4: downtown Denver and you know, was talking about getting a flight.
- 37:06Speaker 4: I said, brother, I'm already at Elways downtown. That's why
- 37:08Speaker 4: I'm celebrating. I just got to drive thirty minutes in
- 37:10Speaker 4: the morning and get the playbooks. So for me, I
- 37:14Speaker 4: grew up in a family that didn't have much. You know,
- 37:17Speaker 4: there was a time where we were getting Christmas presents
- 37:19Speaker 4: dropped off on our doorstep. This is way when we
- 37:21Speaker 4: were young, young, young, And you know, I got to
- 37:24Speaker 4: go to maybe two or three Bronco games growing up,
- 37:26Speaker 4: but it was always what I wanted to do. I
- 37:27Speaker 4: mean I remember looking down at the Broncos just being like,
- 37:30Speaker 4: that would be sick if I could do that someday.
- 37:32Speaker 4: And I was always kind of the kid that dreamed big.
- 37:34Speaker 4: So for me, when I got drafted to like actually
- 37:36Speaker 4: put on the helmet and be a part of the
- 37:38Speaker 4: program and do it for four years and run out
- 37:40Speaker 4: of the tunnel was absolutely surreal.
- 37:43Speaker 3: And that opportunity in two weeks to go back.
- 37:46Speaker 4: It won't be my first time, but it's gonna be
- 37:47Speaker 4: another cool opportunity to be back there.
- 37:49Speaker 1: How crazy was it to have John Elway as a boss.
- 37:52Speaker 3: Oh it was wild. I mean I grew up watching
- 37:54Speaker 3: the guy.
- 37:54Speaker 4: I mean, that's that's the jersey that you see growing up, right,
- 37:57Speaker 4: Everyone's talking about Elway, and that's what grandpa's talking about,
- 38:00Speaker 4: and that's who mom likes and all these different things.
- 38:03Speaker 4: And for John Ellie to be the guy that picked you,
- 38:05Speaker 4: it sure meant a lot. And I created a relationship
- 38:07Speaker 4: with him to where my time in Denver. You know,
- 38:08Speaker 4: I talked to him on the phone and we text,
- 38:10Speaker 4: and yeah, I had a lot of respect for I
- 38:12Speaker 4: have a lot of respect for him.
- 38:13Speaker 1: I read a story where you said the following, I
- 38:16Speaker 1: hope scouts watch my tape and say, Reisner must have
- 38:20Speaker 1: been ticked off. Do you become a different person on
- 38:24Speaker 1: the field.
- 38:25Speaker 4: I tried to man, I don't know when that quotes from.
- 38:27Speaker 4: That's hilarious, But I've always tried to play with an
- 38:30Speaker 4: extra level of grit or work hards to me, But yeah,
- 38:35Speaker 4: you can't. You can't be mister nice guy when you're
- 38:37Speaker 4: in a football field. You're trying to put food on
- 38:39Speaker 4: the table and the plate for your family, and you're
- 38:42Speaker 4: trying to, you know, make a career out of the
- 38:44Speaker 4: job that you're doing and being in the league seven
- 38:46Speaker 4: years you understand, and being on the street two weeks
- 38:49Speaker 4: ago you understand how hard this job is and you
- 38:51Speaker 4: understand that it waits for nobody, and I don't care
- 38:54Speaker 4: who you are. So yeah, a level of change when
- 38:57Speaker 4: you cross those white lines is needed for a guy
- 39:00Speaker 4: like me.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Offensive line is interesting in that sense because it's obviously
- 39:04Speaker 1: very physical, but there's also a tremendous x's and o's
- 39:07Speaker 1: chess match going on at that position. Which part of
- 39:10Speaker 1: it do you like more?
- 39:12Speaker 4: The easier one for me is the chess match because
- 39:15Speaker 4: it's all between the ears, and that's something you can
- 39:17Speaker 4: prep for throughout the week, and the more you study it,
- 39:20Speaker 4: the more you dial in, the more you lock in.
- 39:22Speaker 4: I feel like, the more that you can edge out
- 39:24Speaker 4: your opponent mentally. The physical side sometimes, in my opinion,
- 39:28Speaker 4: it's not a work hard standpoint. Sometimes you know, you
- 39:31Speaker 4: got the kid from Wigans, Colorado going against the five
- 39:34Speaker 4: star recruit from Gosh knows where, So I think the
- 39:38Speaker 4: physical thing, the physical side of things can be harder
- 39:40Speaker 4: at times, but that's also one that with a great,
- 39:44Speaker 4: great responsibility comes great reward because you get to go
- 39:46Speaker 4: against these great players and when you find yourself blocking
- 39:48Speaker 4: them up, it's a great feeling too.
- 39:50Speaker 1: We're visiting the Dalton Reisner. After four years in Denver
- 39:53Speaker 1: in two years with Minnesota Vikings, you were a free
- 39:56Speaker 1: agent this past offseason and didn't sign until late August.
- 39:59Speaker 1: How did you stay ready?
- 40:02Speaker 3: Man? Great question.
- 40:04Speaker 4: I It's it's hard to talk about because, man, I
- 40:08Speaker 4: am so grateful for the way that I did approach things,
- 40:12Speaker 4: and so grateful for a wife that you know, supports
- 40:15Speaker 4: me each and every day, even when sometimes the dream
- 40:17Speaker 4: seems a little bit far fetched, because you know, there
- 40:20Speaker 4: were I'm waking up at six am every day and
- 40:22Speaker 4: I'm going out to my garage and I'm putting the
- 40:24Speaker 4: garage door up, and I'm doing an hour lift, and
- 40:27Speaker 4: I'm putting my cleats on. I'm walking through the neighborhood
- 40:29Speaker 4: over to the local like that. It was where the
- 40:32Speaker 4: mail boxes are in our neighborhood and there's an area
- 40:35Speaker 4: between the mailboxes and the pickleball slash basketball court and
- 40:40Speaker 4: it's about twenty yard patch of grass that gets mowed
- 40:42Speaker 4: every two weeks, and sometimes the grass is up to
- 40:44Speaker 4: your past your ankles, and you know, I do fifteen
- 40:47Speaker 4: to twenty sprints every morning and then I run through
- 40:50Speaker 4: inside zone, tight zone, pass block, right guard, left guard.
- 40:53Speaker 4: It's about a thirty to forty five minute deal and
- 40:55Speaker 4: it's muggy as hell. That's why I do it at
- 40:56Speaker 4: six am in Florida. But regardless, I had this whole
- 41:00Speaker 4: order in which I did things, and it was from
- 41:01Speaker 4: like six to ten in the morning, end with sauna,
- 41:03Speaker 4: end with cold tub.
- 41:05Speaker 3: And it's cool to look.
- 41:06Speaker 4: Back on because if I didn't do that every day,
- 41:08Speaker 4: no one was watching, no one cared. Right, there were
- 41:10Speaker 4: times where who knows if I was going to get
- 41:12Speaker 4: picked up, or you didn't know your future, So there
- 41:14Speaker 4: were so many mornings where you question why am I
- 41:16Speaker 4: doing this? You know, and is it really gonna matter?
- 41:18Speaker 4: I mean, we're in late August here, guys. I went
- 41:20Speaker 4: through a whole training camp, and you know, if I
- 41:22Speaker 4: didn't do that, there's no way in heck I.
- 41:23Speaker 3: Could have stepped in against the Browns. There's just no way.
- 41:26Speaker 4: And if I did didn't do it, I bet the
- 41:28Speaker 4: Bengals would't have even trusted me too, because my workout
- 41:31Speaker 4: probably wuldn't have been good and I probably would never
- 41:32Speaker 4: have gotten signed or I would have been here and
- 41:35Speaker 4: they knew I would have been ready and they would
- 41:36Speaker 4: put someone else in. So just really grateful for a
- 41:39Speaker 4: wife that supported me through that and for just the
- 41:42Speaker 4: willpower to, you know.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Do that when no one was looking.
- 41:45Speaker 1: So nobody was looking in terms of NFL teams, But
- 41:48Speaker 1: what about neighbors and passers by. Did they see this
- 41:51Speaker 1: gigantic human being doing past blocking drills against nobody?
- 41:54Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I remember, like a week before I came
- 41:57Speaker 4: out here, a guy walked by and he said, that
- 42:00Speaker 4: must be one hell of a fantasy football.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Team you're on.
- 42:02Speaker 4: And you know the human nature, and you set wants
- 42:05Speaker 4: to bark back and say, I'm a six year NFL vet.
- 42:08Speaker 3: You know I could be on multiple teams.
- 42:10Speaker 4: I'm in contract negotiation, but get into it right, and
- 42:13Speaker 4: you just kind of laugh. And every morning there's the
- 42:15Speaker 4: grandmas walking their dogs and they poop in the grass
- 42:19Speaker 4: that you're working out in and they just stare at you,
- 42:21Speaker 4: and you know they're going back and they're chattering about
- 42:23Speaker 4: what's that big, huge man doing in the grass, grunting
- 42:26Speaker 4: and making all that noise. But when you love something
- 42:30Speaker 4: enough and you care about it enough, you'll find a way.
- 42:32Speaker 1: So after two padded practices with the Bengals. You suit
- 42:35Speaker 1: it up in the season opener, and two and a
- 42:38Speaker 1: half minutes into the second quarter, Lucas Patrick suffered a
- 42:41Speaker 1: calf injury, and you're in. You're gonna play the rest
- 42:43Speaker 1: of the game. Ted Carris called it a stunning display
- 42:46Speaker 1: of football professionalism. This was your ninetieth NFL game, including
- 42:50Speaker 1: the playoffs. Is it among the most memorable in light
- 42:53Speaker 1: of the circumstances.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Oh, it's one of the most memorable. For me.
- 42:56Speaker 4: Two years ago, I signed late with the Minnesota Vikings,
- 43:00Speaker 4: and I think two weeks later I started Monday night
- 43:02Speaker 4: football against the forty nine ers. That was a absolutely
- 43:05Speaker 4: surreal experience. So that's up there, number two, the first
- 43:08Speaker 4: start in Mile High Stadium, that's up there, and then
- 43:11Speaker 4: this one is the top three.
- 43:13Speaker 3: So those are all my top three.
- 43:14Speaker 4: I mean to be able to be with a different team,
- 43:16Speaker 4: different organization, guys that you barely know and step in
- 43:19Speaker 4: in a way of like that is truly an unreal feeling.
- 43:24Speaker 4: I talked to you guys earlier in the week, but
- 43:26Speaker 4: what Ted said meant a whole lot to me, not
- 43:28Speaker 4: only because the player he is, but the man he
- 43:30Speaker 4: is and I take it very seriously to step in
- 43:32Speaker 4: here and be.
- 43:33Speaker 3: A guy that guys can count on.
- 43:34Speaker 4: So I know that I'm getting more time underneath my belt,
- 43:37Speaker 4: more times working with the ones, So I got to
- 43:39Speaker 4: continue to elevate my game, which I will. But yeah,
- 43:42Speaker 4: it was an unbelievable experience. Awesome words that Ted said
- 43:45Speaker 4: something I'll never forget. A story I'll tell the kids
- 43:47Speaker 4: and the grandkids, and I'll probably stretch it.
- 43:51Speaker 1: So two days after that, you spoke to kids at
- 43:54Speaker 1: a local elementary school. Tell us a little bit about
- 43:56Speaker 1: the Riisner Up Foundation and its mission.
- 43:59Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I kind of told you a little
- 44:02Speaker 4: bit about where I come from and the humble beginnings
- 44:05Speaker 4: and the roots of where I'm from. So when it
- 44:08Speaker 4: comes to giving back to other people and the type
- 44:12Speaker 4: of people we are off the field, that means more
- 44:14Speaker 4: to me. And I have no problem saying that means
- 44:16Speaker 4: more to me. You don't care if you call me
- 44:18Speaker 4: in five years and say I was one of the
- 44:19Speaker 4: best guards to ever come.
- 44:20Speaker 3: Through as a Cincinnati bank. I don't care.
- 44:21Speaker 4: It doesn't matter the awards, the trophies. I don't even
- 44:24Speaker 4: remember what awards I got in college. Nor do you
- 44:26Speaker 4: care if I ask you, right now, tell me every
- 44:28Speaker 4: award I got in college. You wouldn't be able to
- 44:30Speaker 4: do it because it doesn't matter to you. But when
- 44:31Speaker 4: you go home and talk to your wife or your
- 44:33Speaker 4: kids and they ask you about Dalton Reisner, You're probably
- 44:35Speaker 4: gonna tell them about maybe the heart that I have.
- 44:37Speaker 4: And I hope that that's a good thing. And that's
- 44:40Speaker 4: why I do those things.
- 44:41Speaker 3: In the most genuine way.
- 44:42Speaker 4: I mean, let's be honest. When you go do that
- 44:44Speaker 4: for kids, a lot of those kids want to They
- 44:46Speaker 4: want to know Joe Burrow and how much money Joe
- 44:48Speaker 4: Burrow makes. Those are the questions you get, right, But
- 44:50Speaker 4: there might be one kid that's like, wow, like that
- 44:52Speaker 4: NFL football player. I would have done anything for ANFL
- 44:54Speaker 4: football player to show up to my school.
- 44:56Speaker 3: I've done anything.
- 44:57Speaker 4: So for me, it's like, man, if there's one kid
- 44:59Speaker 4: that could have use this today, it matters for me.
- 45:02Speaker 4: And even if it didn't matter, even if the kids
- 45:04Speaker 4: got nothing from it. And I give a whole speech,
- 45:07Speaker 4: I signed autographs, I did the whole deal for me
- 45:09Speaker 4: morally to say, hey, little Dalton, little kid that had
- 45:13Speaker 4: a dream to be in the NFL. You know, just
- 45:15Speaker 4: know that when you made it like you're a good
- 45:17Speaker 4: dude and like you're still giving time to other people.
- 45:20Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I appreciate.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Here come a few wild card topics. Now to wrap
- 45:23Speaker 1: things up with Dalton Reisner. Is it true that you
- 45:27Speaker 1: got free pizza from memorizing Bible Versus as a kid.
- 45:30Speaker 3: That is very true.
- 45:31Speaker 4: One hundred percent tostinos pizza. So there were days where
- 45:33Speaker 4: I'd get three or four tostinos. Miss Segura shout out
- 45:37Speaker 4: Summit Baptist Church, Miss Segura, Wigans, Colorado.
- 45:41Speaker 1: You said in an interview a few years ago that
- 45:42Speaker 1: you want to open a restaurant when you're playing days
- 45:44Speaker 1: or finished. Is that still the case and what type
- 45:47Speaker 1: of restaurant would it be.
- 45:48Speaker 4: A great question. I love the research you did. You
- 45:49Speaker 4: did a great job. No, definitely not anymore. I think
- 45:52Speaker 4: starting a family is really important to me. Being a
- 45:55Speaker 4: father is really important to me. I would love to
- 45:58Speaker 4: speak at churches, men's group. I've already done sermons at
- 46:02Speaker 4: Sunday churches, so I'd love to do that men's groups,
- 46:05Speaker 4: youth groups, you name it, as well as pickleball. I'd
- 46:08Speaker 4: love to do that competitively with my wife. But three
- 46:10Speaker 4: twenty doesn't go well with pickleball.
- 46:12Speaker 1: So I have searched high and low for a picture
- 46:16Speaker 1: of you with no beard unsuccessfully. When was the last
- 46:21Speaker 1: time you were clean shaven?
- 46:22Speaker 4: Since I grew the beard? I've never done a clean
- 46:25Speaker 4: shaven you know, as an offensive lineman.
- 46:26Speaker 3: That scary stuff. Buddy.
- 46:27Speaker 4: You know you look good, you know you're brave, you're
- 46:29Speaker 4: a fit dude. But when you weigh three undred twenty pounds,
- 46:32Speaker 4: even though you're married, that's a risk you don't take.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Was this college or high school when the beard?
- 46:36Speaker 4: I think I started to finally grow it, like red
- 46:39Speaker 4: shirt freshman year in college, and all the pictures you
- 46:41Speaker 4: can see before that look pretty dang bad, so I'm
- 46:43Speaker 4: not going back to it.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Roughly, how many tattoos do you have?
- 46:46Speaker 6: Oo?
- 46:48Speaker 4: I got about twenty Bible verses, so about maybe twenty
- 46:50Speaker 4: three twenty four tattoos. I got a family tree in
- 46:53Speaker 4: my right arm with you know, buddies that have died
- 46:56Speaker 4: or you know, family members that are still alive or
- 46:59Speaker 4: not alive, and then everything else is Bible versus some
- 47:02Speaker 4: stuff about my marriage. So yeah, probably it depends on
- 47:05Speaker 4: how much you want to break it up. You know what,
- 47:07Speaker 4: I mean, I have two full arm sleeves and I
- 47:09Speaker 4: have a little bit on my legs, so regardless, it
- 47:12Speaker 4: could be you could call it five big, huge pieces,
- 47:14Speaker 4: or you.
- 47:14Speaker 3: Could call it one hundred.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Are there more to come?
- 47:18Speaker 4: I think I'm done. I want to do the neck,
- 47:19Speaker 4: and my wife really shut things down. She said, we're
- 47:22Speaker 4: not going to the next So I said, okay, all right.
- 47:24Speaker 4: You know, I was just gonna get something about Jesus.
- 47:26Speaker 2: Man.
- 47:26Speaker 1: I love Jesus so anywhere, but the neck. Final question
- 47:30Speaker 1: for Dalton Reisner, This one's a little bit deep. If
- 47:33Speaker 1: you could meet anybody in history, living or deceased.
- 47:37Speaker 3: Jesus done deal, Jesus done deal.
- 47:39Speaker 4: I know that's cliche, man, but maybe not cliche, but
- 47:42Speaker 4: maybe corny.
- 47:43Speaker 3: But for me, it's Jesus.
- 47:44Speaker 4: I mean, dear gosh, and I am going to be
- 47:45Speaker 4: able to meet him, but I don't want to.
- 47:46Speaker 3: I don't. It'd be cool not to have to meet him,
- 47:48Speaker 3: because then I know I'm dead.
- 47:49Speaker 4: So it would be really cool if you're telling me
- 47:52Speaker 4: one person right now, just dead or living, that I
- 47:54Speaker 4: could have and I could chat with Are you kidding me?
- 47:56Speaker 3: Bro?
- 47:56Speaker 4: I would ask him so many questions and.
- 47:59Speaker 3: He'd be sick of me?
- 48:01Speaker 4: Like, how about that one?
- 48:02Speaker 1: Prayer?
- 48:02Speaker 3: Man? Did you not listen? You don't want it to happen?
- 48:05Speaker 3: Or what the game this weekend? Who's gonna win? Jesus?
- 48:08Speaker 3: Am I gonna play?
- 48:08Speaker 6: Well?
- 48:09Speaker 3: Could you really just have me lock up this guy? Please?
- 48:11Speaker 4: So no, I'd ask him much more deep questions than that.
- 48:14Speaker 4: But it'd be cool to meet Jesus.
- 48:15Speaker 1: I think I'd like to witness that conversation.
- 48:17Speaker 3: It'd be cool, man, It'd be a fun one. It'd
- 48:19Speaker 3: be a fun one.
- 48:19Speaker 1: This has been a fun one too. Appreciate your time.
- 48:21Speaker 3: Thank you so much, man, really appreciate you.
