A Fort Wayne man, 28-year-old Austin Rinker, has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing 27-year-old Jacob Gordon Klotz in a parking lot near a strip club early Saturday morning. The deadly confrontation erupted after Rinker was denied entry to the club around 3 AM and reportedly argued with his girlfriend and another person on the patio. Witnesses say Klotz stepped in, triggering a scuffle that ended with Rinker firing three shots — one of which struck Klotz fatally.
