- 0:00Speaker 1: Time now for back to the basics and healthcare with
- 0:01Speaker 1: Balanced Life Chiropractic. We have doctor Harley joining us. How
- 0:04Speaker 1: you doing doctor Harley?
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey John, I'm doing it. Another good week always so
- 0:07Speaker 2: good time. Get the chat well.
- 0:09Speaker 1: And the thing that's cool this time of year, it's
- 0:10Speaker 1: you know, you never know if we're going to have
- 0:12Speaker 1: bad weather, we're gonna have good weather, and we've got
- 0:14Speaker 1: a little bit of weather this week, but it looks
- 0:15Speaker 1: like next weeks and be even better. So that's good,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and then we have one less thing to complain about, right.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Right, So I always find something.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Else though, oh yeah, yeah, we'll think, we'll think of something.
- 0:26Speaker 1: But we We've spoke a little bit last week about
- 0:28Speaker 1: the difference between therapists and doctors and chiropractic. So let's
- 0:34Speaker 1: focus on chiropractic since that's what you do here at
- 0:36Speaker 1: Balance Life Chiropractic. And what should people expect if they've
- 0:40Speaker 1: never been to a chiropractor but they come in and say, hey,
- 0:42Speaker 1: I want to start working with you for my chiropractic care,
- 0:44Speaker 1: what is that whole process?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Like, yeah, that is a great question, and maybe that
- 0:48Speaker 2: is what keeps you from seeing a chiropractor. They just
- 0:50Speaker 2: always see these YouTube videos or I hear horror stories
- 0:53Speaker 2: about some of the bad stuff that can happen. You know,
- 0:56Speaker 2: a lot of those cases are you know, something with
- 1:00Speaker 2: already happening with the patient and the it got missed
- 1:03Speaker 2: for whatever reason. You know, we chiropractors are well trained
- 1:06Speaker 2: and being able to identify any sort of complications and
- 1:10Speaker 2: you know, stopping treatment or not giving treatment. So you know,
- 1:13Speaker 2: when you first come into our office, we're gonna do
- 1:15Speaker 2: a thorough health history. You're gonna fill out some paperwork
- 1:17Speaker 2: so you can identify, you know, what's going on with you,
- 1:20Speaker 2: and that kind of helps us, like are there any
- 1:21Speaker 2: red flags maybe, like you know, if we need to
- 1:23Speaker 2: prefer you somewhere else, so is it. We're well trained
- 1:26Speaker 2: to identify those things. You're in good hands. And then
- 1:28Speaker 2: we'll sit down and you know, walk you through you know,
- 1:31Speaker 2: your health history, ask additional questions, do some exams, you know,
- 1:35Speaker 2: make sure that you know you're safe to be adjusted
- 1:37Speaker 2: and that you know this is going to be a
- 1:39Speaker 2: good treatment for you. And we'll talk a little bit
- 1:43Speaker 2: more about just you know, what is chiropractic, what to
- 1:46Speaker 2: expect with getting adjusted. You know, some of the positive
- 1:50Speaker 2: and maybe some of the not so great side effects
- 1:52Speaker 2: post adjustment that you could experience. So in our office especially,
- 1:56Speaker 2: we're really taking the time to get to know you
- 1:57Speaker 2: and that you get the time ticket to know us
- 2:00Speaker 2: and ask your questions so that you're comfortable with being
- 2:03Speaker 2: seen for care and that we're going to help you
- 2:05Speaker 2: with your health problems.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I love it the way you guys do it because
- 2:08Speaker 1: it's you know, you don't just dive right in and
- 2:10Speaker 1: do things. You find out how can we fix this first.
- 2:12Speaker 1: That's like if I go to the mechanic and I
- 2:13Speaker 1: don't tell them what's wrong, they just start guessing and
- 2:15Speaker 1: fix whatever they think might be wrong with the car. No,
- 2:18Speaker 1: what they do is they first to ask me and
- 2:20Speaker 1: I tell them, here's what I think it is. But
- 2:22Speaker 1: then they might do a diagnostic to find out what's
- 2:24Speaker 1: really going on because I don't know that that's it,
- 2:26Speaker 1: And once they narrow it down to here's what the
- 2:28Speaker 1: problem is, then they fix that problem instead of fixing
- 2:31Speaker 1: every other little problem that they think they might have had,
- 2:33Speaker 1: but it didn't really fix the problem. So I love
- 2:36Speaker 1: the fact that you guys do it the way that
- 2:37Speaker 1: you do it.
- 2:37Speaker 2: You can kind of think of chiropractors kind of like
- 2:39Speaker 2: a body mechanic. You know, we're trying to figure out
- 2:41Speaker 2: what's the problem and what do we need to do
- 2:44Speaker 2: to work on correcting them. We never want to guess
- 2:46Speaker 2: with you or your family's health, so we use some technology.
- 2:48Speaker 2: We have a nerve scan, a muscle assessment, and then
- 2:51Speaker 2: we also take extrays as well, and using all of
- 2:53Speaker 2: that gives us a bigger picture of what the underlying
- 2:56Speaker 2: cause of your problem really is and that we were
- 2:58Speaker 2: addressing that real issue.
- 3:00Speaker 1: It's like plugging the car end to see what what
- 3:02Speaker 1: error codes come up, and then we'll fix those things.
- 3:04Speaker 1: And you do the same kind of thing here.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I mean, nothing's plugged into you. What means the nerve
- 3:09Speaker 2: skin is kind of like a giant thermometer. It just
- 3:11Speaker 2: reads the temperature changes along your spine. The other ones
- 3:15Speaker 2: a muscle assessment that reads your muscle out. It's cold, unfortunately,
- 3:19Speaker 2: you know, because we're we're running these tests on your
- 3:22Speaker 2: bare skin, it is a little bit colder.
- 3:24Speaker 1: So yeah, be prepared for it to be cold. But
- 3:26Speaker 1: you know what the cool thing is, it's refreshing too,
- 3:30Speaker 1: So come in on a hot day. So if somebody
- 3:32Speaker 1: listening is going, hey, I would like to maybe check
- 3:34Speaker 1: into this. What is the first step? How do they
- 3:36Speaker 1: connect with you?
- 3:37Speaker 2: Well, you gotta get a new patient appointment scheduled with us,
- 3:39Speaker 2: so first it would be giving us a call at
