- 1:59Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 169.
- 2:02Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister here, along with Dana Roselli, coming to you from where else?
- 2:07Sean McAllister: Las Vegas.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 2:09Dayna Roselli: Nice and warm now, consistently, right?
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: We've been in the 90s.
- 2:12Sean McAllister: It consistently warm.
- 2:14Sean McAllister: Hopefully, we're done with all these crazy mood swings that Mother Nature's been having.
- 2:20Sean McAllister: But yeah, it has been nice.
- 2:22Sean McAllister: It's been great pool weather.
- 2:23Sean McAllister: The wind has died down a lot.
- 2:25Sean McAllister: So if you're planning a trip here, I think you're in for some good summer weather for the foreseeable future, which is great.
- 2:33Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 2:34Dayna Roselli: Usually that's the way it works, right?
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: If we had a cooldown in the middle of July, it would be really odd.
- 2:38Sean McAllister: But that would be breaking headline news right there.
- 2:42Dayna Roselli: Hey, uh, love getting all these notes from our listeners that take our advice and use our tips.
- 2:47Dayna Roselli: Wanted to just point out a couple of them.
- 2:49Dayna Roselli: A big shout out to Frank from Des Moines, who came into town.
- 2:53Dayna Roselli: He hit up RPM at the forum shops for dinner, said he loved it, said the service was excellent.
- 2:59Dayna Roselli: And then he also ventured off the strip and used one of our latest tips to visit the Italian American Club on East Sahara.
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 3:08Dayna Roselli: Now we made sure, remember when we talked about this recently, that everyone knows, even though it says club in the title, it doesn't mean you need to be a member to go to the restaurant.
- 3:17Sean McAllister: Right.
- 3:17Dayna Roselli: And the lounge and any of the stuff really there.
- 3:20Dayna Roselli: So that's a big thing that people don't realize.
- 3:23Dayna Roselli: Anyway, so Frank said, you know what?
- 3:25Dayna Roselli: I'm going to go check out the Italian American Club.
- 3:27Dayna Roselli: Vegas Revealed says it's good.
- 3:28Dayna Roselli: Listen, he said it was amazing.
- 3:31Dayna Roselli: It was like stepping back in time and that he will definitely be back on his next visit.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: He said it's kind of going to be probably a repeat thing for him.
- 3:39Dayna Roselli: So I love that.
- 3:40Sean McAllister: I mean, listen, we've talked about having it be a repeat thing for us too and having it be like the go-to place for happy hour.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 3:47Dayna Roselli: We need to like go soon.
- 3:49Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 3:50Sean McAllister: I'm ready to go today.
- 3:52Sean McAllister: We can finish up recording and hop over to Italian American Club for some drinks and apps.
- 4:00Sean McAllister: Also, we have been getting a lot of feedback, as Dana mentioned.
- 4:05Sean McAllister: You can always feel welcome to DM us on social media, send an email to ideas at vegas-revealed.com, or just go to our website, vegas-revealed.com, and there's a chat box on there where you can just put in your feedback and it sends it directly to our emails.
- 4:24Sean McAllister: So feel free to do any of that.
- 4:26Sean McAllister: Just like Aaron did.
- 4:28Sean McAllister: Uh, he wrote to us because last week we were talking about the NFL schedule being released.
- 4:34Sean McAllister: And he was gracious enough to get into the details of how the NFL schedule is set, who plays who and when and where, all of that kind of stuff.
- 4:46Sean McAllister: And he gave us this uh great website that we want to pass along to you if you're interested in you know advanced scheduling.
- 4:55Sean McAllister: It's fbschedules.com backslash NFL.
- 5:02Sean McAllister: And you can pick future schedules and your teams and see when and where they're anticipated to play, because there's a whole like methodology to it.
- 5:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 5:12Sean McAllister: That Aaron was explaining to us.
- 5:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we got into it last week because we said a lot of people look at the schedule, especially for Las Vegas, because they want to know if their team is gonna play in Las Vegas so that they can kind of do a trip.
- 5:25Sean McAllister: Right.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: You know, hey, let's go to Vegas and let's watch our whatever Bengals play, you know, that kind of thing, the Raiders.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: So it's kind of like a tourist thing.
- 5:34Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's what our sports tourism is based on.
- 5:36Sean McAllister: So, Aaron, thank you so much for taking the time to send that to us.
- 5:40Sean McAllister: We appreciate your your feedback and your advice so that we can stay up on top of that.
- 5:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and Aaron Oas also says he listens to us because it keeps him close to home when he's on the road a lot.
- 5:52Dayna Roselli: So I love it.
- 5:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 5:54Dayna Roselli: Okay, let's stick with sports and give a big shout out to our Vegas Golden Knights.
- 5:59Dayna Roselli: We haven't talked about them in a while.
- 6:00Sean McAllister: We've not.
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: We are one step closer to winning the Stanley Cup.
- 6:05Sean McAllister: I know.
- 6:05Sean McAllister: So we have advanced to with after a hard-fought series with the Edmonton Oilers, we've advanced to the Western Conference Finals, facing off against the Dallas Stars.
- 6:17Sean McAllister: Now, the last time that we made it this far in NHL playoffs, we also played the Dallas Stars.
- 6:25Sean McAllister: This was in 2020, and they knocked us out.
- 6:27Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 6:27Sean McAllister: So we're hoping for a different outcome this time.
- 6:31Sean McAllister: Uh Western Conference Finals are, you know, here upon us.
- 6:36Sean McAllister: We're wishing our guys well.
- 6:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, it would be nice.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: We we keep making it almost to the Stanley Cup, but then we don't.
- 6:46Dayna Roselli: And then, but but we're gonna this time, I feel it.
- 6:48Sean McAllister: And you know what the funny part about advancing this far in the NHL season is when you go to the uh the Golden Knights games here in Las Vegas, a lot of times it's like a hundred degrees outside.
- 7:01Sean McAllister: So you're dressed in your summer clothes as you're going to the game, but you need to bring your layers with you so that when you get inside the arena where it's like 50 degrees, you're gonna freeze your took us off if you're if you don't bring your layers.
- 7:20Sean McAllister: So it's like you need to be prepared for a big climate shift.
- 7:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:25Dayna Roselli: That's for sure.
- 7:26Dayna Roselli: And it's a fun experience outside too, if you don't go to the games.
- 7:29Dayna Roselli: We've done that before.
- 7:30Dayna Roselli: Watch the game at Beer House.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: We actually had another listener, in fact, write us and say, Where should I watch the game that's not inside the arena?
- 7:37Dayna Roselli: I know you guys know the spot.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: And we recommended Beer House because you and I have gone there a few times.
- 7:41Dayna Roselli: I know you've been there even more than I have, and you can watch the game and hear the siren when they score.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: It's a lot of fun.
- 7:47Dayna Roselli: The whole atmosphere in front of Team Mobile Arena.
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: We highly recommend that.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: And and I'm glad to see the Golden Knights doing well because you know they had so many player shifts, and the community wasn't like a big fan of a lot of the change.
- 7:58Dayna Roselli: So it's like, okay, we had a good season now with new players, and and I feel like maybe people are settling in and realizing that this is what happens in sports.
- 8:09Dayna Roselli: We lose some of our favorites and we have to embrace the new players.
- 8:13Sean McAllister: Well, and speaking of changes, uh Pete Debore, who was our coach last season, is now the coach of the Dallas Stars.
- 8:22Sean McAllister: It's gonna be good.
- 8:22Sean McAllister: So he has intimate knowledge of our team, which could be an advantage for the Dallas Stars.
- 8:29Sean McAllister: So I don't know.
- 8:30Sean McAllister: I am hoping for a terrific outcome for our Goldis and Golden Knight.
- 8:37Sean McAllister: That would be nice.
- 8:37Sean McAllister: Oh gosh.
- 8:38Dayna Roselli: Then we would have the WNBA team that won.
- 8:41Sean McAllister: Right.
- 8:42Dayna Roselli: And then we would have a Stanley Cup, and then we're on our way.
- 8:45Dayna Roselli: We just need the Raiders to do well this year.
- 8:47Sean McAllister: We do, yes.
- 8:49Dayna Roselli: Well, look likely, uh, we have talked about this before.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: We are really getting close to a baseball stadium being built.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: Um, and it's gonna be apparently on the site of the Tropicana.
- 9:00Dayna Roselli: We told you about that.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: And the Tropicana is just to the south of MGM Grand, it's across from Mandalay Bay, a little to the north on that corner.
- 9:09Dayna Roselli: You know, the Tropicana was built back in 1957, so it's a big deal that this piece of history would come down.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: But we're still waiting, and you know, anything can happen after we post this podcast, a change, a vote.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: But we're waiting for, you know, a bill to be presented to the Nevada state legislature before June 6th.
- 9:28Sean McAllister: Right.
- 9:28Sean McAllister: And as we've talked about here in our special coverage, uh Nevada lawmakers need to pass legislation that would approve about$400 million in public funds to help build uh the proposed stadium at that Tropicana site.
- 9:45Sean McAllister: So um, you know, that may happen after we we post this episode.
- 9:51Sean McAllister: Who knows?
- 9:51Sean McAllister: It's kind of it needs to happen before uh June 6th.
- 9:55Sean McAllister: Right.
- 9:55Sean McAllister: Um and then the MLB would need to approve uh relocation of the Oakland A's to Las Vegas.
- 10:02Sean McAllister: That would happen uh by uh January 1st.
- 10:06Sean McAllister: So these next uh you know six months in terms of the MLB decision will be interesting to watch.
- 10:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and and you know it's it's a proposed stadium.
- 10:15Dayna Roselli: I I don't even know if we got into the details last time, but like with 35,000, it's supposed to hold retractable roof.
- 10:21Dayna Roselli: The stadium would go up, the Tropicana would come down, but the Tropicana also plans to build another hotel casino that would kind of like integrate.
- 10:29Dayna Roselli: They handed out a letter to employees saying that you know you would lose your job.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: If we start this, it'll be in about 18 to 24 months, and so we kind of know where that stands.
- 10:39Dayna Roselli: So it's all becoming more and more real.
- 10:42Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 10:42Sean McAllister: And uh, you know, if this plan does move forward as planned and on schedule, it looks like we would have a baseball stadium on that site by uh 2027, so in four years from now, if construction delays are factored in, then it could get pushed to 2028, which sounds so weird.
- 11:05Sean McAllister: Doesn't it sound so weird that 2027 and 28 are only like four and five years away?
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: I know it goes fast.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: Whenever we announce something and then construction starts, and then all of a sudden the years just fly by and like hey, we have a new arena, we have a new stadium.
- 11:21Dayna Roselli: Like it feels like nothing, a blink of an eye.
- 11:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, it does.
- 11:23Sean McAllister: And seeing how quickly Allegiance Stadium went up and opened, I mean, things happen quickly here.
- 11:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:31Dayna Roselli: You're gonna hear a lot of things, you're gonna see a lot of things.
- 11:33Dayna Roselli: Make sure you do your own research to make sure we just saw today on Instagram a certain blogger influencer.
- 11:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, report something about this that was made absolutely no sense.
- 11:48Dayna Roselli: It's very frustrating coming from a news background, seeing all the misinformation out there that people, you know, they're trying.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: It's interesting coverage, but it it's not factually correct.
- 12:00Dayna Roselli: And um people buy it.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you know, they're like, wow, what this, that, wow, I didn't know that.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: Wow, this is so cool to learn this from you.
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: No one's talking about this.
- 12:09Dayna Roselli: Well, no one's talking about it because it's not right, right.
- 12:11Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 12:12Sean McAllister: It's not true, it's not true.
- 12:13Dayna Roselli: So we don't want to call out any specifics, but we are gonna keep an eye on that stuff because I feel like, you know, I don't know, when it comes to this stadium, this certain post was not factually correct.
- 12:25Sean McAllister: And just know that we've talked about this in the past as well.
- 12:29Sean McAllister: We do our research, we talk to verified sources.
- 12:32Sean McAllister: Oftentimes we go to the source of information to make sure that what we bring to you on Vegas revealed is what's going on.
- 12:41Dayna Roselli: So yeah.
- 12:42Dayna Roselli: And if if we're ever wrong, send us an email and and call us out because we'll be like, oh, we didn't re you know, we'll look into it.
- 12:49Dayna Roselli: We had someone do that like maybe like a year ago and was just giving a little us a little bit more context and something that had to do with gaming.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: And it was great because then we were like, oh, okay, we didn't realize that.
- 12:59Dayna Roselli: So anyway, we're always up for that stuff too.
- 13:03Sean McAllister: Well, Dana, the lightning rolled, the lightning struck, and once again, Garth Brooks is back as a Vegas headliner, and I mean, we could not be happier.
- 13:13Sean McAllister: What a show.
- 13:15Dayna Roselli: I think both of us today are like still talking about it, still thinking about it, and just smiling because we had the best time.
- 13:23Sean McAllister: I mean, he is the there's a reason why he has won Entertainer of the Year so many times.
- 13:31Sean McAllister: He is just incredible.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: Listen, and he knows how to do Vegas.
- 13:36Dayna Roselli: So we're gonna get into our thoughts on why that is the case.
- 13:39Dayna Roselli: Because I think you and I have been discussing lately, like we've gone to shows and we like them, but we're not leaving with this feeling of like, gosh, that was amazing.
- 13:50Sean McAllister: Right.
- 13:51Sean McAllister: It's felt like a concert and not an experience.
- 13:55Sean McAllister: Garth Brooks gives his audience an experience.
- 14:00Dayna Roselli: It really does.
- 14:01Dayna Roselli: So we talked to him earlier in the day.
- 14:03Dayna Roselli: He had a press conference, and then he allowed some of the media outlets to, you know, ask him a couple questions one-on-one.
- 14:09Dayna Roselli: And so we enjoyed getting a little one-on-one time with Garth.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: And, you know, I kind of started off the interview.
- 14:15Dayna Roselli: I felt like I needed to let him know.
- 14:16Dayna Roselli: I was like, gosh, like even when he was doing the press conference, it's just like, well, he has those beautiful blue eyes, regardless.
- 14:22Dayna Roselli: But he just lights up the room.
- 14:23Dayna Roselli: He's so casual, but I was like, man, you look like 10 years younger.
- 14:27Dayna Roselli: Your energy is still there.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: Like nothing's changed from the last time I interviewed him, like 10 years ago.
- 14:33Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 14:33Dayna Roselli: So it was really fun to catch up with him and let's roll that interview.
- 14:37Dayna Roselli: Doing the stadium tours, doing the intimate shows, doing a show like this, does this keep your energy up, keep you going, keep you excited?
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, of course, but being Mr.
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: Yearwood doesn't hurt either.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: That woman's a dream.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: So I really feel like the last, I don't know, 10, 15 years of my life have kind of gone the other way.
- 14:55SPEAKER_02: So it feels good, and I think music does that too.
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: I think music keeps you uh in the game and keeps it current.
- 15:01SPEAKER_02: It's fun.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: And and have do did you put out invitations for plus ones with this show?
- 15:08Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: No, but you're in Vegas, everyone's here.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: So I'm hoping somebody'll go, hey, you know, I'm gonna be there.
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: And then what you wanna do is you wanna work them like a rented mule if they're here, right?
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: Get them out there, because I'm a fan first.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: So let's say, let's just drop a name like James Taylor.
- 15:26SPEAKER_02: Gosh, we named our first kid after James and so you know.
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: If James Taylor would be here at the same time and want to play, I think I would just turn the guitar over and I'd go sit out in the office.
- 15:38SPEAKER_02: I love the I love the thoughts and the possibilities.
- 15:40Sean McAllister: So if Usher shows up with his roller skates from his show, are you throwing on a pair too?
- 15:44Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, that's gonna be tough.
- 15:46SPEAKER_02: Me and him did the uh me and him did the inauguration together, and I got to know him really well that day.
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: And I and it's weird.
- 15:51SPEAKER_02: What you find out is you think you guys are so different?
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: We're all a lot more like than you think.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: It's great.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: Looking forward to it, man.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Me too, man.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much.
- 16:00Sean McAllister: Well, it wasn't Usher who was Garth's plus one opening night.
- 16:04Sean McAllister: It was his lovely wife, Trisha Yearwood, and the crowd went crazy when she stepped out on stage.
- 16:11Dayna Roselli: We had a feeling that that would happen because it only makes sense, right?
- 16:14Dayna Roselli: And you hear him in the interview talking Trisha up.
- 16:16Dayna Roselli: I mean, I love how much they support each other.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: Totally.
- 16:19Dayna Roselli: It's so cute.
- 16:20Dayna Roselli: She was amazing, she looked incredible, and she sang one of my favorite songs of hers.
- 16:26Dayna Roselli: Um, She's in Love with the Boy.
- 16:28Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: And they did a duet too from uh A Star Was Born.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: It was the Lady Gaga song, right?
- 16:33Dayna Roselli: Uh uh yes, I forget the name, but the very popular duet.
- 16:39Sean McAllister: Yeah, that one.
- 16:42Sean McAllister: Well, they sing that and they sound great.
- 16:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was uh incredible show.
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: Um, we mentioned that Garth really brought it, and what made it so vague is I think personally, it was a mix of emotion, fun, it was wild, there were stories, there was passion, and he talked to us, which you felt special.
- 17:08Dayna Roselli: No matter every person in that room felt special, and like they just had the time of their life.
- 17:14Dayna Roselli: It's like you're completely immersed.
- 17:15Dayna Roselli: He performed for two and a half hours.
- 17:17Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 17:17Sean McAllister: I mean the show just kept going and going.
- 17:20Sean McAllister: And even at the end, he said, Well, I've definitely gone over my time limit, but here we are.
- 17:25Sean McAllister: And I I think the show felt like remember MTV used to do those behind the music, yeah, like the unplugged behind the music kind of kind of deals.
- 17:36Sean McAllister: And you would watch that and listen to your favorite artist, a Mariah Carey, uh Usher, uh Christina Aguilar, like hear the stories behind the songs, and it just felt so intimate, and you wished you could be there in the audience.
- 17:53Sean McAllister: This felt exactly like that to me, except fifty times better than I could have ever imagined it.
- 18:02Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 18:03Dayna Roselli: And you know why too is because he didn't go on and on about it.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: It still moved.
- 18:07Sean McAllister: Right.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: He moved, but he was like the story that he told was enough.
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: And he, you know, it spoke eloquent eloquently about it, where you're like, okay, you you had the idea, and then he kicks into it, and it and it just was great.
- 18:22Dayna Roselli: Um, I love that he took some audience questions that they had pre-written out that people had submitted.
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: Um, he respectfully pointed out um a husband who had just got home from the from serving.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: The crowd went crazy, took off his hat.
- 18:38Dayna Roselli: That was a very emotional part.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: And he actually put that out on his Twitter last night that that was his favorite part of the show.
- 18:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, it had a really special moment.
- 18:47Dayna Roselli: It was.
- 18:47Dayna Roselli: And he said it had nothing to do with music, but it had to do with you, as in like the people.
- 18:51Dayna Roselli: And I thought that was amazing.
- 18:52Dayna Roselli: Um, so there are moments like that that just pop up organically.
- 18:56Dayna Roselli: It was amazing.
- 18:57Sean McAllister: And I also loved that Garth even played some music that wasn't his, but it was music that inspired the songs that he ended up writing and making famous.
- 19:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:11Dayna Roselli: And the way he talked about other artists.
- 19:13Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 19:14Dayna Roselli: And also how much he really took time to introduce each band member and tell their history.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: He had a huge band, the curtain lifts up, and there, I don't even know, there was like 15 people in that band.
- 19:25Dayna Roselli: I mean, everything from every instrument.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: Some of them had been with him for years and years and years.
- 19:30Dayna Roselli: Others were newer, but he talked about their background and their influence on the song that he was just about to play.
- 19:36Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:36Sean McAllister: And so we're explaining what we loved about the show.
- 19:40Sean McAllister: We're not going into detail about every little aspect of the show.
- 19:45Sean McAllister: And that's because Garth really wants each performance to be special and unique for every single audience.
- 19:53Sean McAllister: And as part of that, he's decided not to allow phones in in the auditorium during his show.
- 20:02Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 20:03Dayna Roselli: It was a big decision, but you know what?
- 20:06Dayna Roselli: We loved it.
- 20:07Dayna Roselli: Now, this is probably unpopular opinion because I usually hear people say when I just look at comments and reactions to different kinds of shows that have people put their phones away that they don't love it.
- 20:19Dayna Roselli: I loved it because you and I could be immersed in the show.
- 20:23Dayna Roselli: The whole crowd could be immersed in the show.
- 20:25Dayna Roselli: And not standing there recording.
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: I mean, we have to get bits for our social media because it's what we do and we cover it and people want to see.
- 20:34Dayna Roselli: And so we often have to shoot little pieces.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: But there are some people who sit there and record literally the whole show and have a phone in the air the whole time.
- 20:42Dayna Roselli: It was so nice not to see that.
- 20:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, I I felt like it created such connection with Garth and even with the people around us.
- 20:51Sean McAllister: I mean, we made friends with people who are who were sitting around us because we were striking up conversations instead of you know people being on their phones or you know, getting a social media post out or recording video that they're probably never going to look at again.
- 21:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 21:06Dayna Roselli: So let's listen uh to Garth in his own words.
- 21:08Dayna Roselli: He describes this.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: He says, People are gonna be coming to my show over and over, and I want I don't want the whole thing posted online.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: I want you to have that experience.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: You're paying for a ticket, you might as well come and be a little bit surprised.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: So since there are people that have tickets, December 20 something, you know, right?
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: It's crazy.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: I want the show to be brand new for them, not something they go online and just do the whole damn thing.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: I don't think it's fair to them, I don't think it's fair to the story, I don't think it's fair to the artist.
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: So Rainy Burr came up with API.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: So Randy said what if they opened.
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: So one of the things we did is keyword code in the closed keyword.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: So if it really works well, it will be part of the show the next day.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: Those things are fine.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: So hopefully, hopefully it'll just get better and better at the time as we do it.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: But that's the original plan.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: That's a great question.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: Thanks for letting me get a chance to explain that.
- 22:44Dayna Roselli: So we didn't have that actually in the pouch.
- 22:46Dayna Roselli: We got a lanyard.
- 22:47Dayna Roselli: And this was great too because everyone got a Garth Brooks VIP lanyard.
- 22:52Dayna Roselli: Everyone was a VIP.
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: And that again is Garth Brooks.
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: Everyone is equal.
- 22:56Dayna Roselli: Everyone is a VIP that comes to my show.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: You're all special.
- 22:59Dayna Roselli: And on there was a golden ticket.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: And on that is a QR code.
- 23:04Dayna Roselli: And so if you click that after you get out of the show, it takes you to a link of a bunch of professional pictures from the night.
- 23:11Sean McAllister: And I thought that was really nice.
- 23:13Sean McAllister: That, you know, even though phones aren't allowed, he is still giving the audience pictures and in some cases video of those moments from the show that really were special.
- 23:27Sean McAllister: And that you have those really amazing photos to keep for yourself as a keepsake and as a memory of an incredible night with Garth Brooks.
- 23:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 23:38Dayna Roselli: We just loved it.
- 23:39Dayna Roselli: We could go on and on.
- 23:41Dayna Roselli: We hope you know some of this information helped.
- 23:43Dayna Roselli: Again, we don't want to get into the real nitty-gritty details.
- 23:46Dayna Roselli: One little note people asked us, like, is there a lot of production?
- 23:49Dayna Roselli: It's like, no, there is the band.
- 23:50Dayna Roselli: There's an amazing huge screen where you can see him up close if you're up in the balcony.
- 23:55Dayna Roselli: You uh a couple logos.
- 23:57Dayna Roselli: Um, the curtain came up and revealed his band at one point.
- 24:01Dayna Roselli: And other than that, but you didn't need it.
- 24:02Dayna Roselli: No, I didn't care.
- 24:04Dayna Roselli: No, it wasn't necessary.
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: But he filled the stage.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: He runs back and forth more than I've ever seen anybody run back and forth.
- 24:11Sean McAllister: Well, and I will say, I think he acknowledged, not by name or by pointing out, but he acknowledged every part of the audience throughout the show.
- 24:21Sean McAllister: So Garth is an ultimate performer.
- 24:27Sean McAllister: He knows what he's doing.
- 24:30Sean McAllister: He has created an incredibly intimate, memorable, unique show that you will only get here in Las Vegas.
- 24:39Sean McAllister: And that's what I love about this residency.
- 24:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's great.
- 24:44Dayna Roselli: He sold out for 2023, but there are some resale tickets on Stubhub and stuff.
- 24:48Dayna Roselli: We browse, they started around, what did I say, 298 or 340?
- 24:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, right around 300.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: But his tickets for 2024 are going on sale uh soon.
- 24:58Dayna Roselli: And if you want to hop on board uh any of those dates that he released, um, I would get on there and and get, you got to sign up, right?
- 25:04Sean McAllister: It's the verified Yeah, they're doing the Ticketmaster verified fan uh sign up.
- 25:10Sean McAllister: So you have to log in, become a verified fan of Garth Brooks.
- 25:13Sean McAllister: And here's the other thing that he's doing.
- 25:15Sean McAllister: If you signed up to be a verified fan for his first run of shows through uh the end of 2023, through the end of this year, but you didn't get in on those tickets, they uh put all of those fans aside, and you are now going to be first in line for tickets in 2024.
- 25:33Sean McAllister: I believe the shows begin in April, spring of 2024.
- 25:37Dayna Roselli: And before we get to tips, I wanted to mention this fabulous commercial center block party that took place.
- 25:43Dayna Roselli: You and I could not go because we were at Garth Brooks' show.
- 25:46Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 25:47Dayna Roselli: But commercial center is like a shopping area, historic shopping area on East Sahara.
- 25:53Dayna Roselli: It's to the east of the Las Vegas Strip.
- 25:56Dayna Roselli: People have come and gone.
- 25:58Dayna Roselli: So there's been amazing stores and restaurants in there for many, many years.
- 26:02Dayna Roselli: There's a theater, there's the green door, all sorts of different kinds of things through the years.
- 26:07Dayna Roselli: Well, anyway, they're trying to revitalize this area.
- 26:11Dayna Roselli: And they had this block party where they gave out tickets, okay?
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: Free tickets.
- 26:16Dayna Roselli: So it was a big deal.
- 26:18Dayna Roselli: And 12,000 of them were gone in hours.
- 26:21Sean McAllister: Like, I mean, as soon as we started texting about it, as soon as we got word, it seemed like I I don't even think I had time to go on and apply for tickets.
- 26:33Sean McAllister: And we got another notice that tickets were all gone.
- 26:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, exactly.
- 26:38Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's funny because and you were saying it was so interesting because the county put this out there.
- 26:42Dayna Roselli: I mean, so you know, it's like that was something different, you know.
- 26:46Dayna Roselli: And and and the big deal was that that Dead Mouse was going to perform a very popular electronic DJ.
- 26:53Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 26:54Dayna Roselli: And celebrity DJ, really, I would say everyone knows, you know, has heard or seen the visual of Dead Mouse.
- 27:00Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 27:01Sean McAllister: Big ears kind of look looks like a big electronic Mickey Mouse kind of kind of deal.
- 27:05Sean McAllister: Um, but I thought what was interesting about this is there is this concerted effort right now to revitalize the areas east of the Las Vegas Strip because there are so many historic parts of town.
- 27:20Sean McAllister: There's a great golf course over here on the the east side, uh Las Vegas National.
- 27:26Sean McAllister: And that's where if you watch the movie Casino, that's the house where Robert De Niro lived in that movie, is over along that golf course.
- 27:36Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 27:36Sean McAllister: You know, and so there's all of these great historic pop culture places over on the east side, and Clark County is really putting an effort into revitalizing the area, bringing attention to the area, and hopefully bringing tourists to the area as well once revitalization efforts keep going.
- 27:59Sean McAllister: Because the Huntridge Theater is another place that uh is being revitalized right now.
- 28:04Sean McAllister: They just put the relit the sign to the Huntridge Theater.
- 28:08Sean McAllister: And this was built back in the 40s.
- 28:10Sean McAllister: I believe it was the first air-conditioned theater in Las Vegas, and lots of concerts have been held there.
- 28:16Dayna Roselli: The killers started there, they used to play there when they were young, and uh, you know, look at them now.
- 28:20Dayna Roselli: So I know they're huge backers of revitalizing that Huntridge Theater.
- 28:24Sean McAllister: So yeah, I would love to see the entire area because there is so much potential.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there really is.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: Um, so anyway, this um was a great event with local artists.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: They had food trucks, they had drink stations, a dead mouse performed, they had other local entertainers there too in several different stages.
- 28:40Dayna Roselli: So really cool to see that happen and hopefully it will bring attention to that area and people will start going, hey, we need to bring this back and keep this alive.
- 28:49Dayna Roselli: So look forward to hearing more about that.
- 28:52Sean McAllister: All right, let's get to tips.
- 28:57Sean McAllister: Dana Memorial Day weekend is upon us.
- 29:00Sean McAllister: That means tons of people are coming into Las Vegas for a long extended weekend, either driving or flying in.
- 29:08Sean McAllister: Um, there's of course lots to do.
- 29:11Sean McAllister: There's big pool parties, there's big concerts, as always.
- 29:14Sean McAllister: But people are always like, okay, that's cool, but what can I do for free?
- 29:19Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 29:19Dayna Roselli: So let's be honest.
- 29:21Dayna Roselli: Um, for our segment that we do in Los Angeles, KCal CBS, they said, hey, what free things are happening for Memorial Day?
- 29:27Dayna Roselli: And we went, probably not much, but we did our research.
- 29:30Dayna Roselli: So we thought, you know what?
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: Let's make this our tip segment.
- 29:33Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 29:34Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 29:35Dayna Roselli: So you looked around and you came up with some really good ideas, and I was like, Oh, yeah, I forgot about that.
- 29:39Dayna Roselli: I forgot about that.
- 29:40Dayna Roselli: So there are free things to do.
- 29:41Sean McAllister: There, there are.
- 29:42Sean McAllister: And let's start with uh the pools because we know that obviously Vegas is the place for day clubs.
- 29:51Sean McAllister: These huge pool parties are the thing to do, the place to be during the day in pool season here in Las Vegas.
- 29:59Sean McAllister: Well, you can get a great pool vibe if you come just like a block or two off the strip over at Top Golf.
- 30:08Sean McAllister: They have a great pool area, it's a great vibe in there, and it's free to go and use the pool.
- 30:17Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 30:18Dayna Roselli: Not a lot of people realize that it's first come, first served, so you gotta get there, you know, before anyone else if you want like a specific area to sit and all that or lounge around.
- 30:27Dayna Roselli: But not a lot of people realize.
- 30:30Dayna Roselli: So sometimes you go, especially if it's midweek, and it's like you have a nice pool to hang out at for free with a great vibe.
- 30:37Dayna Roselli: You hear music, you could go order some food, all of it.
- 30:41Sean McAllister: By the way, even if you're not golfing there, that's also a great spot to just go and hang out at one of the many bars that they have and grab some food.
- 30:49Sean McAllister: They have huge screens to watch games.
- 30:52Sean McAllister: So all in all, Top Golf is a great place to go.
- 30:56Sean McAllister: Like I said, even if you're not golfing.
- 30:59Sean McAllister: Right, exactly.
- 31:00Dayna Roselli: Hey, we've already talked about Nashville Unplugged, but let's reiterate that Friday at nine o'clock of Memorial Day weekend, they're doing another show, and those are free.
- 31:08Dayna Roselli: Is it eight o'clock?
- 31:09Dayna Roselli: Eight o'clock.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: You look at it.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: Okay, eight o'clock on Friday, the weekend of Memorial Day.
- 31:13Dayna Roselli: They're doing another show over there at Mandalay Bay, right in the lounge in the center of the casino.
- 31:19Dayna Roselli: Um, Nashville Unplugged is a great show.
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: Sean went, you loved it, right?
- 31:23Sean McAllister: Oh, it was so much fun.
- 31:24Sean McAllister: Living room style environment.
- 31:26Sean McAllister: It's just great to kick back, listen to the songwriters who've written, you know, incredible, not only country music, but other genres as well.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: And then you can go up to Fremont Street, which we know a lot of you that listen love to do.
- 31:40Dayna Roselli: Fremont Street Experience, they have free concerts all the time, that weekend included.
- 31:45Dayna Roselli: And then we also saw that actually Smashmouth is headlining and performing on the Sunday night before Memorial Day Monday.
- 31:54Dayna Roselli: So if you want to see Smashmouth, get up to Fremont Street for the free concert.
- 31:59Sean McAllister: Also, over at uh Virgin Hotels, which is the former Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, they have a lounge in there called the Shag Room.
- 32:08Sean McAllister: And each Friday night from 9 p.m.
- 32:11Sean McAllister: until 1 a.m., they have free music in there as well.
- 32:15Sean McAllister: So those are some great options that are gonna cost you nothing to go and and partake in.
- 32:22Dayna Roselli: And just a note, you know, if you're like, I can't afford to come in, I'm looking at prices on the strip, you know, and like everything is through the roof because we ran into something similar.
- 32:30Dayna Roselli: Our families are coming in at a weekend in September for an award that Sean and I are getting.
- 32:36Dayna Roselli: And we said, What's going on that weekend?
- 32:38Dayna Roselli: It was like Mexican Independence Day weekend.
- 32:40Dayna Roselli: You look up and you're like, okay, so the prices are really high because it's going to be really busy.
- 32:43Dayna Roselli: But then we looked at off-strip pricing.
- 32:45Dayna Roselli: And keep that in mind, everyone, there are so many hotel casinos that are off the strip, but not too far.
- 32:52Dayna Roselli: I looked at Virgin and I looked at the Palms, and they had great rooms that were, you know,$700 at the win, but now but comparable, if not even a little bit bigger, over at the Palms for$149.
- 33:04Dayna Roselli: So make sure if you really want to come to Vegas, you may just not be able to stay exactly right on the strip, but you'll be close enough with the options that we have.
- 33:13Dayna Roselli: We've got the Rio, we've got and then there's ones that are farther too that are good.
- 33:17Sean McAllister: Right.
- 33:17Sean McAllister: And you know what?
- 33:18Sean McAllister: That may not be a bad option when you think about it, so that you can go and be in the heart of everything happening in Las Vegas.
- 33:26Sean McAllister: But then when you go back to your room, it's like you're taking a little bit of a step away.
- 33:31Sean McAllister: You're not in it all the time.
- 33:33Dayna Roselli: Um, hey, I wanted to mention a couple things before we leave.
- 33:36Dayna Roselli: Um, I people always ask me about, like I always say on your Instagram pushing these goalie products, and they are they're gummy vitamins.
- 33:43Dayna Roselli: Yes, do you use them?
- 33:44Dayna Roselli: Yes, I do use them.
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: I use different ones for different things.
- 33:48Dayna Roselli: I love the super greens because I don't get a lot of greens in.
- 33:51Dayna Roselli: I love the super fruits because it's good for your skin.
- 33:54Dayna Roselli: Um, I don't take the sleep gummies very often because I usually have no trouble falling asleep.
- 34:00Dayna Roselli: But there's one called Ashwagandha, which is great to kind of relax you when I get stressed out.
- 34:04Dayna Roselli: So I use that one too.
- 34:05Dayna Roselli: There's so many.
- 34:06Dayna Roselli: They have a bunch of new ones, a beats one.
- 34:08Dayna Roselli: They have a super extra sleep uh gummy bottle.
- 34:11Dayna Roselli: They have the immune gummies, which are great for travel, but you can always check in with me because they give me a lot of sales to push out.
- 34:21Dayna Roselli: And right now there's a 35% off sale.
- 34:24Dayna Roselli: And all you have to do is if you're interested in ordering goalie gummies, and I know you've used them.
- 34:29Dayna Roselli: Your mom's used some of the sleep gummies she likes.
- 34:31Sean McAllister: My family's used them.
- 34:32Sean McAllister: I we have a cabinet of them.
- 34:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they're good.
- 34:35Dayna Roselli: I they're really good.
- 34:36Dayna Roselli: And and you know what?
- 34:37Dayna Roselli: I love to pop one in whenever I'm craving something sweet.
- 34:40Dayna Roselli: I pop a gummy, and I figure it's better to have a bite.
- 34:43Dayna Roselli: Yep, the chocolate ones, and some of the gummy ones are actually, you know, sweet as well.
- 34:48Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 34:49Dayna Roselli: So if you had that craving, it kind of but anyway, um 35% off is the sale right now.
- 34:54Dayna Roselli: You can go to goalie.com, surf around.
- 34:58Dayna Roselli: But when you check out, put in my code, and that is Dana Roselli.
- 35:01Dayna Roselli: So my name all the way through with no spaces.
- 35:04Dayna Roselli: D-A-Y-N-A-R-O-S-E-L-I.
- 35:08Dayna Roselli: If you want to order a pack of gummies, try one out.
- 35:10Dayna Roselli: It's a good deal.
- 35:11Sean McAllister: And just keep in mind those immune gummies would be great, especially if you're planning on traveling.
- 35:17Sean McAllister: Yeah, get them in time so that you can get them into your system before you travel, during, and then after as well.
- 35:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's it's a good deal.
- 35:26Dayna Roselli: They're delicious.
- 35:27Dayna Roselli: My whole counter's full of them.
- 35:28Dayna Roselli: If anybody came in, they'd be like, you obviously distribute goalie gummies.
