Transcript
- 0:13Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, welcome to Pink Shade. It's Mary Payne here.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It's Pop and Bravos, so that means it's Thursday. I've
- 0:19Speaker 1: got a great guest. I've got Jilina Greenberg here, you guys.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Gilina has a great new podcast. It's called Hot Mesterpiece
- 0:27Speaker 1: Theater and can you guess.
- 0:29Speaker 2: What it's about.
- 0:29Speaker 1: It's about the ship we like to talk.
- 0:31Speaker 2: About it sure is.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Yeah, welcome to the show. I'm so glad to see you.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Thank you for having me. It's such a delight to
- 0:38Speaker 2: be here.
- 0:39Speaker 1: You're a very profession looking sound studio.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you. Put up a few soundproofing panels.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I damn some over here. I use it as like
- 0:50Speaker 1: a bulgenborg.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Really, Oh that's smart.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I have a neighbor who's like, bedroom is behind my wall,
- 0:55Speaker 3: so you know, gotta be a little polite.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Are you a New York City gal? I am, yeah, okay,
- 1:01Speaker 1: I'm always jealous of a New York City gal.
- 1:04Speaker 3: It has its pros and its cons, like it's you know,
- 1:07Speaker 3: really annoying to get groceries, but also you feel like
- 1:10Speaker 3: you're at the center of the world, so like you know.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yes, a couple of years ago, I had a friend
- 1:15Speaker 1: whose sister lives in New York and she lived at
- 1:17Speaker 1: the top of this building in Midtown, like a two
- 1:21Speaker 1: bedroom apartment with like a wrap around terrace. She's like, Oh,
- 1:24Speaker 1: my sister's going to be a town for a week.
- 1:26Speaker 1: She's looking for somebody to stay there, just the water,
- 1:28Speaker 1: the plants. I go, uh me, I'll do it. Yeah,
- 1:32Speaker 1: So I did. And my friend Ingrid came for a bit,
- 1:34Speaker 1: my friend Emily came for a bit, my friend Mary came.
- 1:36Speaker 2: For a bit.
- 1:37Speaker 1: We just circled through. We're like, let us all do it.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And I lived in New York for a week. And
- 1:41Speaker 1: by the end of that week, I was like, nobody
- 1:44Speaker 1: can tell me anything. I know it all. Yeah, I
- 1:47Speaker 1: know nothing. Whenever I go to New York, I'm always
- 1:49Speaker 1: like I'm that person on the street. But I do
- 1:51Speaker 1: get to the side to look at my map, right,
- 1:53Speaker 1: I stand to the side.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, like the basic etiquette, which is also
- 1:57Speaker 3: like you wouldn't do that anywhere, Like I wouldn't do
- 2:00Speaker 3: that in California either if I was lost, just like
- 2:02Speaker 3: park it in the middle of a sidewalk.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Well, that's what people in New York do. They stand
- 2:07Speaker 1: in the middle of the side, but looking at their
- 2:08Speaker 1: phones and you having to go around them, and as
- 2:12Speaker 1: somebody who lives there imagine, it's super annoying.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I guess the rule is sort of like
- 2:17Speaker 3: you're supposed to like get up, get up to the
- 2:19Speaker 3: side of the sidewalk, like the street side, like go
- 2:22Speaker 3: go hang out by like a newspaper kiosk thing, yes,
- 2:26Speaker 3: and look stuff up.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I just hug a wall. I just go back to
- 2:30Speaker 1: go to an edge.
- 2:31Speaker 2: That's it.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I just hug a wall and let people go past me.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Another thing that bothers me in New York is I
- 2:36Speaker 1: see lots of people with baby carriages and they have
- 2:38Speaker 1: them like into the crosswalk.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, sort of it's sort of like a
- 2:44Speaker 3: biker move, like it's what people on bikes do, like
- 2:47Speaker 3: where it's like I'm raring to go.
- 2:50Speaker 1: You know your baby's gonna get hit, but it's like you're.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Raring to go with your with like your baby as
- 2:56Speaker 3: the thing that's sticking into the street.
- 2:58Speaker 1: So yeah, well he's like that's an interesting move. I
- 3:03Speaker 1: wonder how many babies get hit by not many, that's
- 3:08Speaker 1: but I got to tell you that new thing that
- 3:10Speaker 1: did in New York in the last couple of years.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Is they installed that little teeny tiny bike lane and
- 3:16Speaker 1: if you step out, because you look both ways, there
- 3:18Speaker 1: cars coming, you will get up, a biker will just
- 3:21Speaker 1: run right over and keep right on going with the
- 3:23Speaker 1: ruber eats order.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Oh right, and you have to be way more cautious
- 3:27Speaker 3: like those bikers, like they're not abiding by the lights
- 3:29Speaker 3: the same way.
- 3:30Speaker 2: The cars are.
- 3:32Speaker 3: They're especially in those things on like a green way
- 3:34Speaker 3: where they have sort of their own separate lane, like
- 3:37Speaker 3: separate from the road even and it's like they are.
- 3:41Speaker 3: It's vicious in there.
- 3:43Speaker 1: It's scary. It's scary. Well that was New York Corner
- 3:47Speaker 1: with Mary Payne and Gilnta. Okay, your new podcast. I
- 3:52Speaker 1: want to talk about it because right before we came on,
- 3:56Speaker 1: I was listening and so you have had several podcasts
- 3:59Speaker 1: over the years with yourself and with Christen Meiser. So
- 4:04Speaker 1: let's talk about those. So By the Book and How
- 4:07Speaker 1: to Be Fine, we're two separate.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Things, sort of like one kind of became the other. Okay,
- 4:13Speaker 3: So By the Book was was our first show. We
- 4:16Speaker 3: started it back in like twenty seventeen.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah, and we.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Did a sort of we called it like a reality
- 4:23Speaker 3: show meets book club, where we would live by the
- 4:27Speaker 3: rules of a self help book really strictly for two
- 4:30Speaker 3: weeks at a time and sort of record ourselves and
- 4:33Speaker 3: report back on whether or not the book lived up
- 4:36Speaker 3: to its own hype.
- 4:38Speaker 1: It's such a great idea. I remember listening to those
- 4:41Speaker 1: episodes going, I couldn't do this. And who was the
- 4:45Speaker 1: guy who did the book the Year of Living biblically
- 4:51Speaker 1: or whatever? He followed the Bible exactly.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I can't remember his name right now.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Same idea, Yeah, same idea, same idea. Yeah, what was
- 4:59Speaker 1: the hardest job?
- 5:00Speaker 2: Was much harder?
- 5:01Speaker 1: Yeah? What was the hardest one that you from your opinion?
- 5:03Speaker 1: What was the hardest one?
- 5:04Speaker 2: You get the hardest ones? There were probably a couple.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Definitely French Women don't get fat because I felt misled
- 5:15Speaker 3: by because it's sort of marketed as like an intuitive
- 5:18Speaker 3: eating like like just sort of like walk more, eat
- 5:23Speaker 3: fresh butter, you know, but it has it has like
- 5:27Speaker 3: a very strict diet at the beginning where for like
- 5:29Speaker 3: a couple of days you're only supposed to eat leak soup,
- 5:33Speaker 3: which is basically just a boil a leak and like
- 5:36Speaker 3: it's the broth from it. And then if you're like
- 5:38Speaker 3: feeling extra hungry, you can put a leak in it.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Oh and yeah not a cracker, no, no.
- 5:45Speaker 3: No, or like if you're you know, if you're really
- 5:47Speaker 3: feeling hungry, you can like do like a doll up
- 5:50Speaker 3: of olive oil on it. And you're supposed to do
- 5:52Speaker 3: that for like two or three days to sort of
- 5:54Speaker 3: like reset your body. And it's like, oh, so you're
- 5:57Speaker 3: supposed to starve, Like that's awful.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Ooh, I thought French women don't get fat. Was like
- 6:03Speaker 1: you have red wine at lunch, right you want, yeah,
- 6:07Speaker 1: like eat your chocolate.
- 6:08Speaker 3: But it was also like, first, like because you have
- 6:12Speaker 3: bad American habits, like reset your body by like starving
- 6:15Speaker 3: it for a couple.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Of days, and did you do that?
- 6:18Speaker 3: We did, And after we did it, we vowed to
- 6:21Speaker 3: never do a weight loss book again because you know,
- 6:24Speaker 3: it like triggered some old disordered eating habits and stuff
- 6:29Speaker 3: and it just it just led to being unhealthy. But
- 6:34Speaker 3: but I did, you know, cry once I started eating
- 6:36Speaker 3: real food again because it tasted so good.
- 6:39Speaker 1: And you're like the French have nailed it.
- 6:41Speaker 2: And I was like if this is French living. I'm in.
- 6:47Speaker 1: What's another one that you can remember that was harder?
- 6:50Speaker 1: I'm crazy.
- 6:52Speaker 3: The life changing magic of tidying up was hard if
- 6:55Speaker 3: if you really live by it, like you end up
- 6:58Speaker 3: getting rid of a lot of shit.
- 6:59Speaker 2: There's still stuff. I'm like, why did I get rid
- 7:01Speaker 2: of that? Like? What was I thinking?
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I've never read that book. I think I've watched
- 7:06Speaker 1: an episode or so of her show, yeah show, and
- 7:10Speaker 1: I remember thinking like, okay, like I get it. And
- 7:13Speaker 1: I mean, if I just panned this camera slightly either direction,
- 7:16Speaker 1: you'd be horrified. Oh yeah, but right behind me looks
- 7:21Speaker 1: pretty clean. But no, uh uh. I've got boxes of
- 7:25Speaker 1: clothes and my main problem is closed. I buy too
- 7:28Speaker 1: many clothes. Yeah, and then I try to sell them
- 7:30Speaker 1: on Poshmark, and then they sit here because I'm trying
- 7:32Speaker 1: to sell them. I mean, that's my biggest clutter. And
- 7:35Speaker 1: if I could actually just clear my mind of it,
- 7:37Speaker 1: maybe is there a section in her book, just a
- 7:40Speaker 1: chapter about clothes or do I have to read the
- 7:42Speaker 1: whole book?
- 7:43Speaker 3: There is, but you kind of have to read the
- 7:45Speaker 3: whole book, like it's part of like you're supposed to do,
- 7:47Speaker 3: like a big like megap purge when you live by
- 7:52Speaker 3: her advice because basically the only rule is like pick
- 7:56Speaker 3: up every object in your house and if it sparks joy,
- 8:00Speaker 3: keep it.
- 8:01Speaker 2: But then you know it.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Spark on at right, And then like I got on
- 8:05Speaker 3: a roll of just like getting rid of everything and
- 8:08Speaker 3: that I thought sparked a joy, but then it didn't
- 8:11Speaker 3: in the end. In the end, I'm like, I wish
- 8:12Speaker 3: I had like that chunky sterling Tiffany's necklace that I
- 8:18Speaker 3: thought didn't spark joy. But like, yeah, you know, I
- 8:22Speaker 3: donated to Housing Works, which is a great organization donating
- 8:25Speaker 3: stuff there, but I was like, what was they thinking?
- 8:29Speaker 1: All right, y'all, it's summer. I really love to have
- 8:32Speaker 1: people over and I love to get out all of
- 8:34Speaker 1: my fun serving dishes, and I also love a string
- 8:37Speaker 1: light and a full barbecue vibe. I also love an
- 8:39Speaker 1: outdoor game like croquet or cornhole. That would surprise you,
- 8:42Speaker 1: but I'm pretty good at cornhole. And guess what else?
- 8:45Speaker 1: You can get all of that at my go to
- 8:47Speaker 1: shop Wayfair. So for this beach house, I like to
- 8:50Speaker 1: keep kind of a beach theme. I like things with
- 8:51Speaker 1: like sharks and a nautical vibe, like you know navy blue.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I got the cutest outdoor pillows from Wayfair, and I
- 8:58Speaker 1: got a couple from my Adirondacks and a couple of
- 9:01Speaker 1: bench cushions because you know, if you're sitting out there
- 9:03Speaker 1: for a long time trying to get some sun, you
- 9:05Speaker 1: gotta be comfortable. They're that outdoor material which is perfect,
- 9:08Speaker 1: and Wayfair's delivery was always free, fast and hassle free.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Now did you guys know that Wayfair literally has everything
- 9:15Speaker 1: for the outdoors. In addition to all the fun decre
- 9:18Speaker 1: and fillows, they have long games, but they also have trampolines, gazebos,
- 9:22Speaker 1: hot tubs, pools, and swing sets. There's something for every
- 9:26Speaker 1: style and every home, no matter your space, no matter
- 9:29Speaker 1: your budget. So shop outdoor furniture, grills, long games, and
- 9:33Speaker 1: way more for way less. Head to wayfair dot com
- 9:37Speaker 1: right now to explore their huge outdoor selection. That's wayfair
- 9:41Speaker 1: dot com, way fai r dot com, Wayfair, Every style,
- 9:46Speaker 1: every home. Okay hmmm, because I do wish and I
- 9:52Speaker 1: do have a home organizer gal that comes in every
- 9:56Speaker 1: so often and I do feel great and she leaves right,
- 10:01Speaker 1: but like she came in and did her pantry because
- 10:04Speaker 1: we have this walk in pantry because you you know,
- 10:07Speaker 1: adult teenage kids, and it's just a lot. It's a
- 10:10Speaker 1: lot of and my husband just shoved stuff.
- 10:12Speaker 2: A lot, yeah, a lot. It holds a lot.
- 10:15Speaker 1: And then I go in there and it looks beautiful.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I've got my clear baskets, they're labeled. Everything is great,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and I will keep it like that. But the other
- 10:23Speaker 1: people in my family are not on board.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Right, That's the other hard part about it, where it's
- 10:27Speaker 3: like my partner wasn't on board. He didn't get rid
- 10:31Speaker 3: of anything, and he just got annoyed when I was like,
- 10:34Speaker 3: we're supposed to keep like the dish soap under the
- 10:37Speaker 3: sink now, nothing's supposed to be on the counters, Like
- 10:40Speaker 3: I'm not doing that.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, well yeah, I'm going to
- 10:45Speaker 1: read either of those books.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Then No, Like.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Beyond the Purge, there are lots of rules about like
- 10:49Speaker 3: basically nothing should be out in the open, like your
- 10:52Speaker 3: counters should be bear and it's like that can't happen here,
- 10:56Speaker 3: Like I can't put my air fryer away like at
- 10:58Speaker 3: my right or like I'm not going to use a
- 11:02Speaker 3: shower caddie to go to my own shower and I
- 11:06Speaker 3: keep the shampoo in there.
- 11:09Speaker 1: So you're supposed to be like college dorm style pull
- 11:11Speaker 1: out your caddy, yeah, like under your seat.
- 11:14Speaker 2: From under your sink.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And I'm like, yeah, okay, okay, well then I'm sorry. Yeah,
- 11:21Speaker 1: I'm sorry Maria Conda. But she probably has made so
- 11:25Speaker 1: much money that she could just buy a really big
- 11:27Speaker 1: house and have all her shower caddies under all her sinks.
- 11:29Speaker 3: And she's she's uh walked back some of her advice
- 11:33Speaker 3: since having kids, And I bet, like it, it's impossible
- 11:38Speaker 3: when you have like three year olds running around and
- 11:41Speaker 3: older like.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I bet, yeah, okay, wow, yeah, I remember buy the book.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I listened to that quite a bit because I had
- 11:49Speaker 1: my old podcast Paint in the Pod where I only
- 11:51Speaker 1: interviewed podcasters, right, because I'm so obsessed with podcasts, And
- 11:56Speaker 1: that's a really good one. Now, how to Be Fine?
- 12:00Speaker 1: Did y'all talk about self.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Help books on and how to Be Fine?
- 12:03Speaker 3: We still talked about self help books, but we also
- 12:07Speaker 3: we sort of basically we ended up writing a book
- 12:09Speaker 3: about our experience on by the book that was called
- 12:11Speaker 3: how to Be Fine. Yes, So then we changed the
- 12:14Speaker 3: show name to How to Be Fine? And sort of
- 12:16Speaker 3: expanded to just looking at different self help trends, you know,
- 12:22Speaker 3: because living by books sort of limits you to only
- 12:24Speaker 3: like things that have been written written about in book form,
- 12:28Speaker 3: where it's like we wanted to talk about stuff like
- 12:31Speaker 3: before it's a book sometimes and so that way, that way,
- 12:36Speaker 3: on that show, we just did more like sort of
- 12:38Speaker 3: investigative deep dives into like what is life coaching? What
- 12:42Speaker 3: does it mean when someone says they're qualified? Like is
- 12:45Speaker 3: that legit or you.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Know, I'd like to know the answer to that.
- 12:48Speaker 3: I mean not really, there's not one sort of like
- 12:51Speaker 3: governing body, like like you know, like there's the American
- 12:57Speaker 3: Medical Association that like cockers have to answer to, and
- 13:00Speaker 3: those those are the people setting the standards. It's like
- 13:03Speaker 3: each each coaching company has its own rules and guidelines
- 13:08Speaker 3: and so like if someone's certified, like you don't really
- 13:11Speaker 3: know what they're certified in, and like you're not guaranteed
- 13:15Speaker 3: they're gonna be ethical, Like it's just it's just hard
- 13:19Speaker 3: to know.
- 13:20Speaker 1: And so how to How to Be Fine is a
- 13:22Speaker 1: book we could find.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Is a book and a podcast?
- 13:25Speaker 1: Yes, okay, is a book and a podcast, And I
- 13:28Speaker 1: imagine an audiobook as well.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Yes, it was an audiobook is an audiobook. It was
- 13:32Speaker 3: a blast to record. It's like a really long podcast
- 13:35Speaker 3: where we recap living by lots of the books that
- 13:38Speaker 3: we've lived by.
- 13:40Speaker 1: That sounds like the next time I have to drive
- 13:42Speaker 1: to the beach by myself, which is coming up next week.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I'm always looking for something like that, like a long
- 13:47Speaker 1: form podcast or something a story to kind of keep
- 13:50Speaker 1: my brain not falling asleep. So I think how to
- 13:54Speaker 1: Be Fine audiobook sounds like I've got all these credits
- 13:58Speaker 1: on Audible. They just like send them to me right,
- 14:00Speaker 1: Not because they're a sponsor or anything. It's just because
- 14:03Speaker 1: I don't know, somewhere along with like Kendall or something.
- 14:05Speaker 2: This you have prime or something, Yes, and I.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Never use it, so I think that's what I'm gonna do.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I've just used it. Read it. It's a fun one.
- 14:15Speaker 3: We each like we we took turns writing chapters, so
- 14:18Speaker 3: we each read different parts and then we read parts
- 14:20Speaker 3: together like it was really fun.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Yes, okay, all right, now you're an author, as we're discussing,
- 14:26Speaker 1: So you wrote how to Be Fine with Kristin another
- 14:30Speaker 1: book that was All the Real Housewives, I wrote an
- 14:32Speaker 1: e book.
- 14:33Speaker 3: It was actually one of the assignments in a book
- 14:36Speaker 3: we were living for. By the book, it was how
- 14:39Speaker 3: to write an e book in less than seven to
- 14:41Speaker 3: fourteen days. So we each wrote an e book, but
- 14:46Speaker 3: mine was called Modern Harpies. Why I loving the Real
- 14:49Speaker 3: Housewives means your cultured af and in it I compare
- 14:55Speaker 3: Real Housewives to different Greek goddesses because my grand theory
- 15:02Speaker 3: is that, like we're just telling the same stories we've
- 15:05Speaker 3: always been telling, Yeah, like throughout history, and it's like
- 15:09Speaker 3: reality TV is no different. So like, if you think
- 15:12Speaker 3: it's low brow or tacky, like, it just means you're
- 15:15Speaker 3: not you're not seeing through to the.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Story that we're really watching.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yeah, do you know Gibson John's.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yes, I do.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Actually I'm just about to have him on my podcast soon, Okay.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I love Gibson. Yeah, And he has the shirt that
- 15:31Speaker 1: says hating reality TV doesn't make you smart exactly, And
- 15:36Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, if you hate reality TV, then what's
- 15:39Speaker 1: your problem? You know, don't be so judgy and also
- 15:42Speaker 1: you don't look about My husband's a little judgie about it.
- 15:45Speaker 1: He'll come through the room and make a rude comment
- 15:47Speaker 1: until he sees somebody that he knows, like if he
- 15:51Speaker 1: sees Angela. Oakley's husband, Charles Oakley, was an NBAA. What's
- 15:55Speaker 1: that guy? I go, he's on this show? Huh, not
- 15:58Speaker 1: so weird now, So he's a little judgie about it,
- 16:01Speaker 1: but he does sort of come in with like a
- 16:03Speaker 1: Genoadjasmine scene on ninety day and be like, what have
- 16:07Speaker 1: these people been on this show for a year ago?
- 16:10Speaker 2: My husband loves the Gino and Jasmine update.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I'm like, new show. Who is they're still on?
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 16:16Speaker 1: He's like, but she's with that guy and she's had
- 16:18Speaker 1: the baby. I go, they haven't had the baby yet
- 16:20Speaker 1: because that other season was don't try to make sense
- 16:23Speaker 1: of it.
- 16:23Speaker 2: The timeline is totally messed up.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Don't try to make sense of you know that she's
- 16:28Speaker 1: already had a baby with this guy and she's currently
- 16:30Speaker 1: not pregnant on this show, but she was pregnant on
- 16:32Speaker 1: the show we saw four months ago. Don't that was
- 16:35Speaker 1: last resort? This is aha. He's like, so he's interested
- 16:40Speaker 1: enough to ask questions, right, totally, Yeah, but he's not
- 16:43Speaker 1: interested enough to pretend like it's cool.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, my husband's the same way. He's uninterested. But
- 16:49Speaker 3: then like, you know he can't help, but always be
- 16:52Speaker 3: like that. Marisol's funny.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Is Marisol the best? I'm obsessed with Marisol.
- 16:58Speaker 3: I love her, and it's like I don't like share
- 17:01Speaker 3: her style isn't my style at all at all, but
- 17:03Speaker 3: like she's like I find her to be like the
- 17:06Speaker 3: best dress. Like she's just like firing on all cylinders
- 17:09Speaker 3: right now.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Every time she talks, I'm like, what's she gonna say,
- 17:12Speaker 1: what's she gonna say? So warm? Give me just a
- 17:14Speaker 1: whole show. And I've said this a million times. People
- 17:16Speaker 1: are like, you've already said this, but you don't know
- 17:18Speaker 1: this about me. I never watched Real Housewives in Miami
- 17:22Speaker 1: just because it was one of the ones I didn't
- 17:23Speaker 1: jump on and then it was gone, and man, who cares.
- 17:26Speaker 1: But when I saw Marisol and Alexia on Real Housewives
- 17:29Speaker 1: Ultimate Girls Trip, oh yeah, I go, well, now I
- 17:32Speaker 1: have to watch it like I have extra time. And
- 17:34Speaker 1: I just started from the beginning and watched the whole thing.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Yeah, it's great. It was such a good such a
- 17:39Speaker 3: good series, such a good.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Series, such a good series. Okay, so on your new podcast, yes,
- 17:46Speaker 1: explain to me first of all, hot Mester Piece theater.
- 17:49Speaker 1: How come nobody's ever come up with that before?
- 17:51Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 17:52Speaker 3: I was googling it for like hours, being like, no
- 17:54Speaker 3: one did this yet, Like someone did a live show
- 17:57Speaker 3: hot Mester Piece that was like a one woman show.
- 17:59Speaker 1: But yeah, what a great I love when somebody comes
- 18:03Speaker 1: up with the grid. I don't have that chip in
- 18:05Speaker 1: my brain that can come up with catchy puns or
- 18:07Speaker 1: good titles ever, So whenever anybody comes up with something,
- 18:10Speaker 1: I'm like, will, they must be a genius because I
- 18:12Speaker 1: could have never come up with that.
- 18:13Speaker 3: I used to work in news and my husband still does,
- 18:17Speaker 3: and there's lots of that kind of wordplay bandied about,
- 18:20Speaker 3: like they're always like pitching titles at each other. So
- 18:23Speaker 3: I feel like I hopefully absorbed some of it.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I will say that. This week on The Valley Reunion, Andy,
- 18:30Speaker 1: before every introduction of every segment, he was doing that
- 18:33Speaker 1: and I was.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Like, stop it was it was a little much.
- 18:36Speaker 1: When Jason took off his ring, this was a ring
- 18:38Speaker 1: toss game. Janet didn't want to play it. David Busters,
- 18:41Speaker 1: You're like, stop.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Too many references.
- 18:46Speaker 1: No, it's you're wasting our time. So all right, so
- 18:50Speaker 1: tell me on Hot Masterpiece theater. You guys are talking
- 18:53Speaker 1: about one scene. You're not just doing like we're going
- 18:56Speaker 1: to talk about a whole season. You're doing one scene
- 18:58Speaker 1: at a time.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Yeah, tell me, tell me everything, So hot Mesterpiece Theater.
- 19:01Speaker 3: I'm basically expanding on expanding on my ebook with the
- 19:05Speaker 3: theory that like what we're watching is is art, is
- 19:08Speaker 3: like real storytelling. And so I have on guests and
- 19:13Speaker 3: we sort of do a deep dive into a favorite
- 19:16Speaker 3: scene of theirs. It can be from any reality show,
- 19:19Speaker 3: lots of Real Housewives so far, lots of Love is
- 19:22Speaker 3: blind people people love, and we just sort of do
- 19:26Speaker 3: a deep dive in like the lore behind the scene,
- 19:30Speaker 3: the public's reaction to the scene, what was going on
- 19:34Speaker 3: like in society when the scene was super popular? Okay,
- 19:40Speaker 3: And also there are episodes I do by myself where
- 19:43Speaker 3: I do deep dives just into different like storytelling techniques
- 19:48Speaker 3: and archetypes, like character types that we come across in
- 19:52Speaker 3: reality TV. So like the one I have coming up
- 19:55Speaker 3: is about matriarchs and like how that showed up? How
- 19:59Speaker 3: like that's like the force in the Real Housewives of
- 20:01Speaker 3: New Jersey, you.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Know, uh huh? And southern charm.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh, Oh of course, Ms Patricia.
- 20:07Speaker 1: And dare I say my top three reality show of
- 20:12Speaker 1: all time? Welcome to Platfell.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you're totally right.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Yeah, Kim Plath, I mean Monster, right, Monster. I heard
- 20:22Speaker 1: the episode you did with Chris Durosa. Now, yeah, Chris
- 20:26Speaker 1: is also a New York City person. I imagine the
- 20:28Speaker 1: two of you were just like in the room together, Kiki,
- 20:31Speaker 1: But now I'm thinking probably you were apart.
- 20:33Speaker 2: We were apart, Yeah, I think it.
- 20:36Speaker 1: He came up with an episode and I don't know,
- 20:38Speaker 1: it was a long time ago, but it was Tarma
- 20:42Speaker 1: and her son, her always troubling son Ryan bringing in
- 20:46Speaker 1: this new girl that he said he's going to marry.
- 20:47Speaker 1: I think he did marry her right, and they.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Had that they got married and had a kid, and
- 20:51Speaker 3: then it got tumultuous pretty quickly.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Pretty dark. But it was great because I was listening
- 20:57Speaker 1: to it before we came on. And I always loved
- 21:00Speaker 1: Chris just because of his background as a reality TV producer.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Always has such interesting takes, and it's so interesting that
- 21:07Speaker 1: he picked a Real Housewives scene. I don't know if
- 21:10Speaker 1: you picked it for him, Oh no, he picked it
- 21:13Speaker 1: because sometimes he won't necessarily go into housewives stuff, you know,
- 21:17Speaker 1: because he's in that world and he doesn't bit like
- 21:19Speaker 1: cheat himself in the foot I loved hearing you guys
- 21:22Speaker 1: just break down this one scene. And it's when Ryan,
- 21:26Speaker 1: you know, the girl comes over and it's like, here's
- 21:28Speaker 1: our wedding venue. Here's what my dress is gonna look like,
- 21:31Speaker 1: and Tamor loses her mind's like you can't just plan
- 21:33Speaker 1: it without it. I was like, you are the mother
- 21:36Speaker 1: in law, You're not the mother of the bride, Like,
- 21:38Speaker 1: what are you doing right right?
- 21:40Speaker 2: I think? Yeah.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Basically it was like here and meet this girl I
- 21:44Speaker 3: met online and then and then it was like surprise,
- 21:47Speaker 3: we're actually engaged and have a venue and like a
- 21:50Speaker 3: date set.
- 21:51Speaker 1: So at the time that was so controversial to meet
- 21:53Speaker 1: somebody online happened.
- 21:55Speaker 3: They met through Instagram. Chris and I looked it up.
- 21:59Speaker 3: DM had like just become a thing. So it was like,
- 22:02Speaker 3: had they just started like DM sliding or.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Like, you know, was it just through comments?
- 22:09Speaker 3: So it was I could understand why Tamia was was rattled,
- 22:12Speaker 3: but the way she handled it was just so like
- 22:16Speaker 3: cinematically beautiful. She she she runs, she runs to a cupboard,
- 22:23Speaker 3: like right right, like I'd say, maybe five feet behind
- 22:26Speaker 3: where the family is all sitting at a table, and
- 22:28Speaker 3: just start screaming about.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Like fuck my life, oh my god.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Just into the cupboard and everyone's just looking behind them
- 22:36Speaker 3: at her, and it's just this this amazing scene that
- 22:40Speaker 3: could be like could have been written by you know,
- 22:41Speaker 3: Edward Alby, like who's afraid of Virginia Wolf's style?
- 22:46Speaker 1: I do like how you know, stories repeat themselves. I
- 22:50Speaker 1: mean I'm you know, deep in the TLC world with
- 22:52Speaker 1: what I do. Oh cover Bravo as well, but right
- 22:55Speaker 1: on TLC. You know, there's this spin off, the Family Chantelle.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Oh yeah, of course, which of course.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Now is in our vernacular, like we say everything like
- 23:04Speaker 1: I don't ever say on my show, like my husband Dave.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I'll say the husband Mary Payne, you know, like because
- 23:10Speaker 1: you have to say that the mother, the mother, Shantell
- 23:14Speaker 1: the mother. So the family Chantelle was so Robo and Juliette.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Even at the end their last season together, when they're
- 23:23Speaker 1: breaking up after being together ten years, every episode title
- 23:28Speaker 1: was a Romeo and juliet quote.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Yeah when they do that, it's so excited.
- 23:34Speaker 3: It's yeah, and it was it was totally this this
- 23:36Speaker 3: story of these these families. Yes, like pulling these kids
- 23:40Speaker 3: apart and them being too young to think anything through.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Like, yeah, it.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Wasn't a thing. But you're so right. There are so
- 23:48Speaker 1: there are if you really think about it, you know
- 23:51Speaker 1: ten stories in the world and they're just retold in
- 23:53Speaker 1: different ways, right you know. Oh my gosh, it's such
- 23:57Speaker 1: a great idea. So I hope that I will come
- 24:00Speaker 1: on your podcast.
- 24:01Speaker 3: I was going to say, I definitely want to have
- 24:03Speaker 3: you on. I would love to talk about anything that
- 24:06Speaker 3: you consider a favorite because, like, you have such a
- 24:09Speaker 3: great knowledge.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Well, I've got two vander Pump scenes in my brain,
- 24:15Speaker 1: one particularly that I think would be epic to break down.
- 24:21Speaker 1: But if I was forced to do a TLC one
- 24:24Speaker 1: because of my knowledge of TLC, I could come up
- 24:26Speaker 1: with everybody. It would it would take it. It would take
- 24:28Speaker 1: a little time.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, whatever whatever you want. But I haven't had
- 24:32Speaker 3: any vander Pump yet, so I'm the I won't.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Say what it is. Yeah, don't come on, I want
- 24:38Speaker 1: to ruin it. But it does involve my favorite people
- 24:41Speaker 1: in the world. Which favorite person in the world, which
- 24:43Speaker 1: is Stossi Schuer.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Oh, I love stasy TV Gold I was so entertaining.
- 24:48Speaker 1: So entertaining. I haven't watched anything she's done lately yet,
- 24:51Speaker 1: Still I just mess with her. Yeah, I love her OOTD.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I love her travel style. It's like what Stassy wearing
- 24:58Speaker 1: to the airport. I need to copy it?
- 25:01Speaker 2: What bag?
- 25:02Speaker 1: Yes, she's twenty years younger than me. That's not weird.
- 25:04Speaker 1: So okay, So what other shows are you watching right now?
- 25:08Speaker 1: That's I mean, you could give me Bravo.
- 25:10Speaker 3: But besides Bravo, I'm watching one am I watching. I'm
- 25:14Speaker 3: watching a lot of TLC. I'm doing like ninety Day UK,
- 25:19Speaker 3: which I guess is like HBO or something.
- 25:21Speaker 1: No it's not. It's Discovery Plus, which I guess is
- 25:24Speaker 1: every Plus. Yeah, I want covering that.
- 25:26Speaker 2: I'm watching it on HBO.
- 25:29Speaker 1: We're covering it. Don't you love the quick case of it?
- 25:31Speaker 1: Because I love how fast.
- 25:33Speaker 2: I always like run into the room and tell my husband.
- 25:36Speaker 3: I'm like, if this were us, it would be five
- 25:39Speaker 3: episodes before we got here. Yeah, I don't care, but
- 25:42Speaker 3: I'm like, but the pacing is so good.
- 25:44Speaker 1: The pacing is I think. I think what we've heard
- 25:47Speaker 1: from UK listeners is they are like full hour, hour
- 25:52Speaker 1: and a half episodes over there, but we get like
- 25:54Speaker 1: thirty two minutes, right, I think they really they're like,
- 25:57Speaker 1: didn't you see this? Didn't you see that? We're like, no,
- 26:00Speaker 1: see this. Last season there was a guy that had
- 26:02Speaker 1: like a full like white supremacist tattoo in his arm,
- 26:06Speaker 1: and every time he talked it was like very visual.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Is that why he was always blurred?
- 26:11Speaker 3: I wondered about that, and they had undertaken up like
- 26:13Speaker 3: an or something, because it's like you also a blurred
- 26:16Speaker 3: if he had like a Coca Cola tattoo.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Yeah it was, of course it was.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah, they had that. But in the UK they had
- 26:24Speaker 1: seen it a lot lot more, where we had just
- 26:27Speaker 1: seen it briefly and then the episode was down and
- 26:29Speaker 1: so we had to rely. But they the ninety to
- 26:31Speaker 1: day UK. You guys, Kimberly and I are covering it
- 26:34Speaker 1: on Prime. It is so good this season.
- 26:38Speaker 2: It's really good. I'm loving it. Yeah.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Thoughts on Shorna after banging this young guy deciding at
- 26:46Speaker 1: age like forty something that she'll just become Mormon.
- 26:49Speaker 3: I've I've never seen anything like it. I've never seen
- 26:53Speaker 3: anyone seek out like this. Niche like American religion. Yeah, right, Yes,
- 27:00Speaker 3: She's so bizarre to me where I'm like, how did
- 27:02Speaker 3: you find Mormonism?
- 27:03Speaker 2: Like why? How?
- 27:06Speaker 1: But don't you think if that day she happened to
- 27:08Speaker 1: walk by the Church of Scientology.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Right, I was like, was it just whoever whatever was
- 27:13Speaker 3: around that that did?
- 27:15Speaker 2: It?
- 27:15Speaker 3: Like so interesting to me? And and I'm like I
- 27:21Speaker 3: feel like this might be like what's the deeper what's
- 27:25Speaker 3: the deeper thing going on?
- 27:26Speaker 2: Why? Why do you why does she.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Want to like essentially like cut things off with this guy?
- 27:33Speaker 3: Like is it actually because of religion or did she
- 27:36Speaker 3: find religion because it's a good reason to like put
- 27:39Speaker 3: pump the brakes, Like I don't know.
- 27:41Speaker 1: She thinks they're getting married. I was like, he hasn't
- 27:43Speaker 1: called you in three weeks, I mean, call me crazy.
- 27:46Speaker 2: But the camera was over so he was.
- 27:50Speaker 1: After she He's like, bye, bye, I love you. I'm
- 27:52Speaker 1: never speaking to her again.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm done, I'm over it.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Yeah, give me my fifty dollars gift card and I'm
- 27:58Speaker 1: out of here. Oh man, okay, ninety dight UK. That's
- 28:02Speaker 1: a good and okay. Now Love is Blind UK started
- 28:05Speaker 1: today Wednesday, when we were recording this we dropped our
- 28:09Speaker 1: episodes of it. We pre record all. Every time Love
- 28:12Speaker 1: is Blind, we pre recorded all. So when you get
- 28:14Speaker 1: your Love is Blind episodes, you get our recaps. It's
- 28:17Speaker 1: a it's it's it's grueling. And that's why I didn't
- 28:20Speaker 1: get to watch this week because I was watching Love
- 28:22Speaker 1: is Blind. So if you haven't watched the new season
- 28:25Speaker 1: of Love is Blind, UK, gotta gotta watch it.
- 28:29Speaker 2: I have not. I am did you.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Watch the last season with Freddy Hot? No?
- 28:33Speaker 2: No, I'm a I'm a I'm a I'm a virgin.
- 28:38Speaker 1: You've never watched any Love is Blind?
- 28:40Speaker 2: No, I've watched Love is Blind US.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Okay, all of it or just some you just dabbled, Okay,
- 28:49Speaker 1: So Love is Blind UK. I know they film it
- 28:52Speaker 1: in Sweden because there's Love is Blind every country, by
- 28:56Speaker 1: the way, right right, Just how much stomach do you
- 28:58Speaker 1: have for the subtitles? You know? For me it's zero?
- 29:02Speaker 1: So Love is Blind UK. Last season there was a
- 29:07Speaker 1: guy on there named Freddie who was an undertaker of
- 29:10Speaker 1: a more tissue. Okay, and he's currently on Perfect Match,
- 29:14Speaker 1: which I'm not watching, but everybody's like, you've got to see.
- 29:16Speaker 1: I'm like, he is the most attractive man to ever
- 29:21Speaker 1: be on television like top five.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Oh, I'm I gotta check that out as.
- 29:26Speaker 1: You got to look up Freddy Love is Blind UK
- 29:29Speaker 1: so good looking. So I stayed the whole season. I
- 29:32Speaker 1: was like, I don't care. I just need to know
- 29:33Speaker 1: what Freddy's doing. He's on Perfect Match now, so that
- 29:36Speaker 1: shows you how it went for him. He was with
- 29:39Speaker 1: a real b uch and he was just like, why
- 29:41Speaker 1: is she so mean to him? Like look at him?
- 29:45Speaker 1: So Love is Blind UK the second season that just started.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I will also recommend, and like I got my haircut
- 29:51Speaker 1: earlier today and my hairdresser was like, I've never watched
- 29:54Speaker 1: Love is Blind any Love Is Blind? Because I feel
- 29:56Speaker 1: like I couldn't catch up. I go, oh, each season
- 29:59Speaker 1: is new, you don't have to.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Do right, right, Yeah, I need to know what happened
- 30:04Speaker 2: last year.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Like you don't know anything. They explain it to you
- 30:07Speaker 1: right at the beginning, right, So I hopefully I've converted
- 30:10Speaker 1: several people, including you today too.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Oh, like I'm like doing that, like the second we
- 30:14Speaker 3: get off of here, the minute we're like I gotta
- 30:16Speaker 3: get I gotta get okay, and.
- 30:17Speaker 1: What else are you watching on TLC?
- 30:19Speaker 3: What else am I watching, I'm watching, I'm watching all
- 30:23Speaker 3: the ninety Days.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Okay, I've got to have you on to talk about this.
- 30:28Speaker 3: So I wait, what what one is currently? I like,
- 30:30Speaker 3: I forget what's even airing? Happily ever After.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Got HTA, which is the worst.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Happily ever After. I'm watching like Hunt for Love with
- 30:37Speaker 3: Hunt for Love shit show?
- 30:39Speaker 1: How do you feel about Hunt for Love? How how
- 30:41Speaker 1: do you feel about Rob?
- 30:44Speaker 2: Rob is a mess? Be so hot? I mean, he's
- 30:48Speaker 2: the hottest mess.
- 30:50Speaker 3: I kind of always have a soft spot for him,
- 30:53Speaker 3: and I like feel like I shouldn't, but.
- 30:55Speaker 1: I do you feel bad about it? I know?
- 30:57Speaker 3: I also just think it's hilarious that it's very clear that,
- 31:01Speaker 3: like some of the people brought onto that show thought
- 31:03Speaker 3: they were doing more of like a Love Island thing
- 31:05Speaker 3: and didn't realize They're like, oh, it seems like a
- 31:08Speaker 3: lot of these people know each other so like a history,
- 31:11Speaker 3: And I'm like, I love that the other guests at
- 31:15Speaker 3: this like Love Hotel don't don't know what they're doing
- 31:20Speaker 3: or like what they're on.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Yes, yes, so funny.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Yes, I will say that on Between the Sheets The
- 31:26Speaker 1: After Show, Tiffany no no Elise, Elise was talking about
- 31:31Speaker 1: how they had a group chat for the singles everybody's single,
- 31:35Speaker 1: but she means the people that weren't ninety eight people,
- 31:38Speaker 1: and she got kicked out of that group chat, and
- 31:41Speaker 1: she said she didn't have a group chat because she's
- 31:42Speaker 1: not in the ninety day group chat either, because nobody
- 31:45Speaker 1: liked her. But she was saying, she goes. She said,
- 31:50Speaker 1: it's so interesting to her that Jay asked Tiffany on
- 31:54Speaker 1: a date and then was so trying to kiss her
- 31:56Speaker 1: and all that, you know, and being kind of like,
- 31:58Speaker 1: she's like stop and list goes. It's so wild to
- 32:03Speaker 1: me because he every morning you would break up to
- 32:08Speaker 1: the group chat with him saying like, fuck these ninety
- 32:11Speaker 1: day people, this is our show, Like, don't give them
- 32:14Speaker 1: any attention, Like we date with on ourselves. And then
- 32:17Speaker 1: she was like and then I guess he wonted screen time,
- 32:20Speaker 1: so we had to take me out, you know. But
- 32:22Speaker 1: at least your point, they just got there and they
- 32:24Speaker 1: were like, wait, how do they know each other?
- 32:28Speaker 2: Wait? This is a dating show for them, Like yeah.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I do think the breakout. The breakout star
- 32:35Speaker 1: is of the singles is Elise cal and Carlow.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Yeah for sure, Carlo is a dirty dog. It turned out.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Yeah. I was surprised.
- 32:45Speaker 1: I was upsetting Carlo.
- 32:47Speaker 2: We were kind of he kind of like flipped on us.
- 32:50Speaker 1: We're rooting for you, Carlo. I know three times I
- 32:54Speaker 1: have had Tiffany on to talk to her, the last
- 32:56Speaker 1: a couple of weeks, and then like I had to
- 32:58Speaker 1: cancel because I was sick. And then twice she's had
- 33:00Speaker 1: to cancel. Of course she was flying somewhere. Who are
- 33:03Speaker 1: you flying to see?
- 33:04Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, where?
- 33:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but hopefully before the end of the season. I'm
- 33:09Speaker 1: gonna get her on awesome. I will tell you that
- 33:12Speaker 1: a bunch of US TLC podcasters were invited to a
- 33:17Speaker 1: Hunt for Love premiere party in New York and they
- 33:20Speaker 1: were all there, none of the singles, but all the
- 33:23Speaker 1: cast because we hadn't seen it. We hadn't seen one eppsite, right,
- 33:26Speaker 1: so we would have known the singles anyway. Yeah, but
- 33:29Speaker 1: Rob was there and I went up to him. I go, Rob, go, hey,
- 33:33Speaker 1: I'm Mary Pann, like you blocked me. And he goes
- 33:36Speaker 1: and he goes, you must have said some shit. I
- 33:38Speaker 1: go no, I mean, well, I mean I probably did,
- 33:41Speaker 1: but I was like, you didn't block her? Or him,
- 33:44Speaker 1: and they talk way worse than you. He goes, I
- 33:46Speaker 1: don't know, you just caught me on a bad Daggo
- 33:47Speaker 1: will you unblock me? He goes, probably not, but he
- 33:53Speaker 1: you would do anything, he said, just looking at I bet.
- 33:56Speaker 3: I was gonna say. If I saw those eyes in person,
- 33:58Speaker 3: I would melt.
- 34:00Speaker 1: It was it was I stood strong. My friend Amy,
- 34:05Speaker 1: another fellow podcaster who has little miss recap, not so much.
- 34:08Speaker 1: She melted immediately.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I imagine he's just like quite charming. He is,
- 34:15Speaker 2: and so hot.
- 34:17Speaker 1: It's hard to look at because it's like look away.
- 34:19Speaker 1: But a bad person. Everybody a bad person. Just remember,
- 34:23Speaker 1: just remember a bad person was a.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Mad person and for a while you had to, like
- 34:27Speaker 3: you had to go outside and use this bathroom.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Right.
- 34:30Speaker 1: He told us he wanted us to know that Sophie
- 34:34Speaker 1: had lived there for two months before they started filming,
- 34:36Speaker 1: so they just built that up for the show. She
- 34:38Speaker 1: was fine with it.
- 34:41Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:41Speaker 1: I don't know if she was.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Definitely if I were younger, it's something I would have
- 34:45Speaker 3: pretended I was fine with for a little bit, but then.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Snapping same, Yeah, she's like, now we're filming, can we
- 34:51Speaker 1: talk about how gross this.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Day and we acknowledge that this sucks, like.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and also that I think they were in a
- 34:56Speaker 1: terrible neighborhood in LA and she's like, and I'm scared
- 34:58Speaker 1: to go to the bathroom in the I you know, hey, okay,
- 35:02Speaker 1: speaking to terrible people. Let's talk about the latest Valley reunion.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Yes, he yaya?
- 35:11Speaker 1: Do you think Jesse is as bad as Jack's but
- 35:14Speaker 1: just smarter about hiding it?
- 35:17Speaker 2: I'm leaning towards that.
- 35:20Speaker 3: There there are times, like I know, Jackson is scary
- 35:23Speaker 3: and unhinged, but there are times where Jesse says something
- 35:27Speaker 3: with a restraint that also scares me. Yes, yeh, I'm like, oh,
- 35:33Speaker 3: he has so much hate and he's so calculating like
- 35:36Speaker 3: that that feels a little dangerous.
- 35:40Speaker 1: That's a great point. That's a great point. He does
- 35:42Speaker 1: seem like he okay on this episode when he started
- 35:47Speaker 1: talking about at the end where his girlfriend showed up,
- 35:50Speaker 1: Oh right, yeah, that was fascinating. But it's really interesting
- 35:55Speaker 1: because basically she called and said, are you done filming?
- 35:58Speaker 1: Can I come over? Because she was at chateau.
- 36:00Speaker 2: He likes, uh oh yeahs chateau always a.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Chateau, And because she was at chateau, and she wanted
- 36:07Speaker 1: to know if she could come over. I said, we
- 36:08Speaker 1: were done filming and she could come now, from my understanding,
- 36:12Speaker 1: just from what I'm gleaning from the clues. When she
- 36:14Speaker 1: got there, there was a sign up that said hot set.
- 36:17Speaker 1: If you enter this area, you could be on film, right,
- 36:21Speaker 1: And I have to I'm not an expert, I'm not
- 36:24Speaker 1: in the industry, but I've seen these signs before.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Yeah, obvious you're entering a set, or like if you
- 36:31Speaker 2: go sit at this table.
- 36:32Speaker 3: Pushment with cameras, you could be filmed right right, Yeah.
- 36:36Speaker 1: She entered and then Jesse says, right when she walks in,
- 36:39Speaker 1: they put a boom mic above our heads, and it
- 36:41Speaker 1: sounds to me like she lost her mind started yelling
- 36:44Speaker 1: at production and threatening legal action to production.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Right against like everyone.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Yeah, which, so Andy says. Andy had been waiting I
- 36:53Speaker 1: think the whole time. Like, let's just get to the
- 36:55Speaker 1: end of episode three.
- 36:55Speaker 2: He jumped on that.
- 36:57Speaker 1: He says to Jesse, like, this is what we heard happened,
- 36:59Speaker 1: and Jessic goes, well, right, when she walked in, they
- 37:02Speaker 1: put a boom mic in her face, and he goes, right.
- 37:04Speaker 2: That's their job, doing their job. Their jobs to do.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Yeah, he said she walked into she walked into an
- 37:10Speaker 1: all cast event hot set.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Yeah. People were still my like cameras were still rolling.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Yeah. And so he says that to Jesse and Jessic goes, yeah,
- 37:20Speaker 1: but he's trying to say, like, but she didn't want
- 37:23Speaker 1: to but she didn't want to film or whatever, and
- 37:25Speaker 1: Andy goes, let me tell you what, if she walked
- 37:27Speaker 1: in here right now, we would do the same thing.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Because these people are doing their job and she was
- 37:31Speaker 1: on a hot set. Do you understand?
- 37:33Speaker 2: Oh?
- 37:34Speaker 1: And when he said that, I got chills. I was like,
- 37:36Speaker 1: oh God.
- 37:38Speaker 2: And the way Jesse was like yep.
- 37:41Speaker 1: She's like, yes, Sir, I sure do. And when you
- 37:45Speaker 1: just looked over and Zach, it's.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Like, oh no, yeah, so good.
- 37:50Speaker 1: And I'm like, I've bet Jesse has been warned, right, Jesse,
- 37:56Speaker 1: either that girlfriend is filming or she's not, and she's not. Oh,
- 37:59Speaker 1: we'll want to know her right, right? Threatening people?
- 38:03Speaker 2: Right?
- 38:04Speaker 3: And it's like and also I don't love that he
- 38:06Speaker 3: like basically gives his ex shit for like her boyfriend
- 38:12Speaker 3: showing up, and like, if he's gonna show up, at
- 38:14Speaker 3: least he's gonna like say what he does, so like
- 38:16Speaker 3: maybe he can get some publicity and sell some honey.
- 38:19Speaker 3: And it's like yeah, yeah, he's like acknowledging her job
- 38:23Speaker 3: and like doing her a favor by like yeah, putting
- 38:26Speaker 3: a mic on and being like.
- 38:28Speaker 2: You share your life, I'm part of your life.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Like and remember what he said about Aaron too. He
- 38:33Speaker 1: said something about, oh well, unlike your boyfriend who shows
- 38:35Speaker 1: up and gets paid and she goes, he has never
- 38:38Speaker 1: been paid because the ancillary hereacters don't get.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Paid, right, yeah, if you're.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Not sitting on that couch, you're not getting paid. I mean,
- 38:46Speaker 1: oh my god. It was so good, so the jacks
- 38:50Speaker 1: of it all. So obviously he was do you think
- 38:54Speaker 1: okay that because it was said on camera and they
- 38:57Speaker 1: left it in because they could have cut it out,
- 39:00Speaker 1: that he pushed Brittany into the bushes because they she
- 39:03Speaker 1: said on camera, he broke these chares, he pushed this
- 39:05Speaker 1: table into my leg. We already knew all these bad things.
- 39:09Speaker 1: But when they said on camera that he pushed her
- 39:11Speaker 1: into the bushes and there was ring coverage, was that
- 39:14Speaker 1: the nail in the coffin or was it the once
- 39:17Speaker 1: again with the my show, my.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Show, my show, Oh shoot, I don't know, two bad
- 39:24Speaker 3: things to cha. Yeah, I mean, I'm not saying I
- 39:28Speaker 3: would like to say that, but like I would like
- 39:31Speaker 3: to think it's because like he was violent, and it's
- 39:35Speaker 3: like you can't you can't be violent against a co
- 39:38Speaker 3: worker or your wife. But like also like you know, yeah,
- 39:44Speaker 3: that's you shouldn't be able to do that. So I'm
- 39:48Speaker 3: assuming it's I'm like assuming it's that. But also the
- 39:51Speaker 3: last time he did my show, My show, My show
- 39:53Speaker 3: was when he had to take a break, So so
- 39:57Speaker 3: like I was like history would say, like it could
- 40:00Speaker 3: just be the my show, My show again.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean Vicky did that and also got.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Fired, right, Yeah, you're right, And.
- 40:07Speaker 1: There is a third person that did it, but I
- 40:09Speaker 1: can never remember, but there's the third person that did it.
- 40:14Speaker 1: But it's not like Asa maybe or no, no, but
- 40:18Speaker 1: she would if she had sunity. Yeah, I don't know
- 40:22Speaker 1: if she's got it all firing up there to do that.
- 40:25Speaker 1: What's so interesting about Teresa is anybody who's ever met
- 40:28Speaker 1: her in person, just like as a podcaster or a
- 40:32Speaker 1: person that's seen her in a meet and Greeter just
- 40:34Speaker 1: ran into her at the grocery store says she's so nice.
- 40:36Speaker 3: Right, and she seemed to like really make friends with
- 40:39Speaker 3: the women on like The Ultimate Girls Trip, Yeah, where
- 40:42Speaker 3: it was like it seems like take him out of
- 40:45Speaker 3: this like family fight context, she might be really messed.
- 40:52Speaker 1: I just listened to the two parts, and there's going
- 40:54Speaker 1: to be a third part on Bravo Docket about Tommy Manzo.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Oh and the the first case where Dina's husband before
- 41:05Speaker 1: he was her husband, was attacked in a pet Co
- 41:06Speaker 1: parking lot and then he had severe PTSD and everything
- 41:10Speaker 1: else because somebody just jumped out of a car and
- 41:12Speaker 1: ran at him and just beat him to a pulp. Right,
- 41:14Speaker 1: And we haven't even gotten into the second case, where
- 41:18Speaker 1: they were, you know, bound in their own home.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Right where I say, where like someone broke in and
- 41:22Speaker 3: like and beat both of them, terrorize them.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, beat both of them. So it's everything those
- 41:30Speaker 1: girls do is so interesting because I'm like, okay, because
- 41:32Speaker 1: they're kind of like us. They're kind of snarking about it,
- 41:35Speaker 1: but they're like, well legally yeah. Anyway, I just listened
- 41:39Speaker 1: to that two parter and I'm like, oh, give me
- 41:41Speaker 1: that third part.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Oh that's so interesting.
- 41:42Speaker 1: God, what people, what bad bad people?
- 41:45Speaker 2: I know.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Yeah, just fully fully, they're talking about the mob and
- 41:49Speaker 1: the mafia and all that.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like this so straight like Godfather stuff, like.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Lots of soprano references. I guess they filmed a couple
- 41:56Speaker 1: of scenes at the sopranos at the Brownstone.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Oh did they didn't know that? Yeah?
- 42:01Speaker 1: That's cool, speaking of Okay, more Bravo gossip Denise Richards.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Oh, I feel so bad for her. I yeah, I
- 42:12Speaker 3: feel like she Like I wish she would do some
- 42:17Speaker 3: some introspection to to to like figure out why she
- 42:24Speaker 3: gravitates towards like such horrible men.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Mm hmmm. She met Aaron, though he didn't seem like
- 42:32Speaker 1: I was gonna say, he.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Was obviously not as bad as Charlie Sheen like.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Say, not as bad as Jack's. He's as like yeah,
- 42:44Speaker 1: but he's really close to her dad where they had
- 42:46Speaker 1: that whole show.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Right yeah.
- 42:48Speaker 3: And so I'm just like, and I feel like she
- 42:50Speaker 3: does under like she seems to have like good family
- 42:53Speaker 3: values and like everything, but something about her is drawn
- 42:58Speaker 3: to these men who end up like being awful.
- 43:03Speaker 1: Yeah, awful. So the latest was like she had to
- 43:06Speaker 1: go over to his house, which violated the restraining order,
- 43:09Speaker 1: but she had to go over there because he had
- 43:11Speaker 1: put down one of her dogs. Oh my gosh, she
- 43:14Speaker 1: went to the other dogs.
- 43:15Speaker 2: It's horrible.
- 43:16Speaker 1: Yeah, Now was it a medical reason whatever? She wasn't
- 43:19Speaker 1: consulted and was told that, yeah, you don't, oh consolidate
- 43:26Speaker 1: those homes. Too many townhouses and houses.
- 43:28Speaker 2: I know I was gonna say.
- 43:29Speaker 3: I mean, a lot of stuff makes sense now, Like
- 43:32Speaker 3: when during during her show when it was like his
- 43:35Speaker 3: his mom is like his parents and sibling live in
- 43:39Speaker 3: our house and we live in these townhouses. It's like, oh,
- 43:43Speaker 3: because they were like taking over your life or your money.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Or now you can't get them out.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's like, oh, this was part of it
- 43:51Speaker 3: being messy, not like you're so quirky, like.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Well listen more to come on that. Okay,
- 44:00Speaker 1: So let's really quickly. I just want to get your
- 44:03Speaker 1: thoughts on the balley besides the Jacks. So, how do
- 44:05Speaker 1: you feel as a vander Pump Watcher? How do you
- 44:08Speaker 1: feel like Kristin the the the The re emergence of
- 44:13Speaker 1: Kristin as a hero this season just made me so happy.
- 44:16Speaker 2: I know, she's like our our phoenix. Oh my life
- 44:18Speaker 2: just went out.
- 44:19Speaker 3: Our phoenix, our phoenix that rose from the ashes, Like
- 44:24Speaker 3: you know, it's been it's been so nice.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Also, I feel like I relate to Kristin a lot.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Really yeah, so I'm.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Just saying she's a couple of years older than me,
- 44:34Speaker 3: and and there are times where I, uh, I don't
- 44:39Speaker 3: handle myself in the best way when I'm real upset
- 44:43Speaker 3: about something and and have maybe had something to drink.
- 44:47Speaker 3: I like to think I've grown as well, like count
- 44:50Speaker 3: to therapy, but like I I can, I can relate
- 44:54Speaker 3: to to crazy Kristin in my in my darker periods,
- 44:59Speaker 3: my younger, wilder period So I always it's just so
- 45:02Speaker 3: satisfying to watch her like grow up, like realize some
- 45:07Speaker 3: of this behavior is self sabotaging, yes, and you know,
- 45:13Speaker 3: helping no one, but also like still be herself and
- 45:16Speaker 3: be a little messy and be like I'm gonna yell the.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Truth even when no one wants to talk about it, Like.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Yes, I love it and I love it. On this
- 45:25Speaker 1: this episode, when she says what did she say, she
- 45:29Speaker 1: was like, listen, I'm known as somebody who like gets
- 45:32Speaker 1: to the bottom, Andy goes, that's what you're known for.
- 45:35Speaker 1: It was so good she's like, yeah, I am. And
- 45:39Speaker 1: I love how Luke would say something She's like, don't
- 45:40Speaker 1: shush me.
- 45:41Speaker 2: He's like, oh, I was so like also I related
- 45:44Speaker 2: to that.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Yeah, she don't shush me. No, don't shush me. And
- 45:48Speaker 1: I did like how she was like in season three,
- 45:50Speaker 1: can we just stop at this legal bullshit? You know?
- 45:53Speaker 1: I was like right and Jack so they're like, yeah,
- 45:55Speaker 1: bring back old school, like how it used to be,
- 45:58Speaker 1: like Jack's not old not you no, no, no, no,
- 46:03Speaker 1: I did. I will say that. Seth Rogan was on
- 46:06Speaker 1: Watch What Happens Live last night.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Huge fan and uh eight. He was like, so, I
- 46:13Speaker 1: guess you're not unhappy about you know, you're not sad
- 46:17Speaker 1: that Jackson is leaving. He goes no, He's like, this
- 46:19Speaker 1: guy's just been rewarded for this bad behavior. Because some
- 46:22Speaker 1: people really have opposite takes on that. They're like, I
- 46:25Speaker 1: think Jackson's stay because the show is his idea. I
- 46:29Speaker 1: was like, the show was my idea. I thought of it,
- 46:31Speaker 1: like I mean, everybody thought about that.
- 46:32Speaker 2: I ever was like, we just need a show following them.
- 46:35Speaker 2: They don't work in the rest of that anymore.
- 46:37Speaker 1: All the old people and give us to rotate the
- 46:40Speaker 1: other ones like menudo or whatever, like what we're doing,
- 46:42Speaker 1: you know. But yeah, I some people really have the
- 46:47Speaker 1: opposite take of like, oh, it's kind of sad because
- 46:49Speaker 1: he thought of it, and like, well, then he should
- 46:51Speaker 1: have been pushing his wife and being a kocad.
- 46:53Speaker 3: I mean right, It's like then he shouldn't have been
- 46:55Speaker 3: like slowly demolishing his life.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Like what do you want us to do about that?
- 46:59Speaker 1: It's his fat And by the way, we all know
- 47:01Speaker 1: he'll be back.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Right and it's like this is a pause. We all
- 47:04Speaker 2: know it, Like you just think.
- 47:06Speaker 1: And dove because they're going to bring in Shorts and
- 47:08Speaker 1: la la, and it'll be like, right, Schworts's neighbor, Jack's.
- 47:11Speaker 3: Right, of course, you know, yeah, right of course because
- 47:14Speaker 3: they share a wall.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Can you imagine Shorts is probably be like, please don't move.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Oh I felt bad. Fresh Wars was just like she's
- 47:23Speaker 2: just getting.
- 47:24Speaker 3: His life together, I know, and Jackson's like, hey, I'm
- 47:27Speaker 3: gonna come be a mess right here.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Worts is like, don't jump over this plastic wall to
- 47:32Speaker 1: get to my my balcony. I don't want you over here.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Oh my god. Okay, let's see Janet Now Uh Keisha,
- 47:42Speaker 1: my co host on this show, disagrees. She thinks Janet's
- 47:45Speaker 1: just gonna go nose dives straight next season. I go,
- 47:48Speaker 1: I disagree. I think because she had such a bad
- 47:50Speaker 1: season historically, she'll be beloved next season.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think that if you ever listened Dering
- 47:59Speaker 1: the Scandabll, Janet was on a lot of the podcast.
- 48:03Speaker 1: She was, Oh she does podcast, Chris La LA's podcast,
- 48:05Speaker 1: because she has been around for everything, would never been
- 48:07Speaker 1: on the show, and she was very interesting just as
- 48:10Speaker 1: a person that's now on the show. And so I
- 48:12Speaker 1: think Christa's right. I do think the minute she got
- 48:14Speaker 1: on TV she changed.
- 48:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not I mean it seems like it.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Yeah, like even yeah, and like even Jesse, who's like
- 48:22Speaker 3: I'm tight with you, but like, yeah, you insert yourself
- 48:25Speaker 3: a lot and like ways then are unexpected, like I did.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Like how Jesse leaned over to Jason and goes, you
- 48:33Speaker 1: need to apologize for calling him a clown.
- 48:35Speaker 2: That's funny. That was good.
- 48:38Speaker 1: It's good because you know, if Jesse's got to tell
- 48:40Speaker 1: you you did something wrong, you need to really.
- 48:42Speaker 3: Yeah, like you gotta really pause and think. But yeah,
- 48:45Speaker 3: I'm I'm not sure. I'm not sure if she's someone
- 48:49Speaker 3: like we love to hate like forever, or if she's
- 48:52Speaker 3: gonna make that turn. I kind of wondered if it
- 48:54Speaker 3: was gonna happen this season because I I was like,
- 48:57Speaker 3: she's had the baby.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Maybe she's like, ah, knows.
- 49:00Speaker 3: What her personality is going to be like without as
- 49:04Speaker 3: many hormones. Maybe, like, I mean, I know there's still
- 49:08Speaker 3: lots of hormones after you have a baby, but you know,
- 49:11Speaker 3: I was like, maybe, like, you know, maybe she'll be
- 49:15Speaker 3: a little more chill or something.
- 49:17Speaker 2: But she wasn't.
- 49:18Speaker 3: No, I feel like she got less chill when she
- 49:22Speaker 3: wasn't pregnant.
- 49:24Speaker 1: I think she was starving because she lost like forty pounds.
- 49:26Speaker 1: I think she's just hungry.
- 49:27Speaker 2: All the time.
- 49:28Speaker 1: I know, right, yeah, I'm so hungry. Miami. I did
- 49:32Speaker 1: not see this week, But tell me something great that happened.
- 49:36Speaker 1: I was too deep in the Love is Blind recaps
- 49:38Speaker 1: right right? What happened to Miami this week?
- 49:41Speaker 3: Miami, Well, they like everyone's still trying to get Gerty
- 49:47Speaker 3: and excuse me. Everyone's trying to get Girty and Julia
- 49:51Speaker 3: to make up. Yes, and then Julia decides like we
- 49:56Speaker 3: should go to Spain because Alexia loves Spain and she's
- 50:00Speaker 3: all stressed out with this todd business of like will
- 50:04Speaker 3: they won't they? And then so then Stephanie the new
- 50:08Speaker 3: one is like great, I have like a private jet.
- 50:14Speaker 3: It can take us from like one part of Spain
- 50:16Speaker 3: to the other, so we don't have to drive. Also,
- 50:18Speaker 3: it can take us to Spain. But for that long
- 50:21Speaker 3: of a trip, I can only take like a couple
- 50:22Speaker 3: of you guys. And so why just just to I
- 50:29Speaker 3: assume it's like a weight versus versus like gas mileage
- 50:33Speaker 3: thing of like they're going further, like it helps if
- 50:37Speaker 3: the plane is lighter.
- 50:38Speaker 2: I don't know, because.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Remember Erica had two planes, like one that was for international.
- 50:42Speaker 3: Right right, yeah, okay, So like I'm thinking it has
- 50:46Speaker 3: something to do with that she can only bring like
- 50:48Speaker 3: four women, and so I forget exactly who she picked,
- 50:52Speaker 3: but it's like it's gonna be it's Stephanie Julia, and then.
- 50:58Speaker 1: She had she doesn't like Alexia.
- 51:02Speaker 3: I was gonna say it was Stephanie and Julia, like
- 51:04Speaker 3: maybe I don't know if it was Gerdye or not.
- 51:08Speaker 3: I can't remember off the top of my head, but
- 51:10Speaker 3: like AA is always the main The main thing was
- 51:15Speaker 3: like basically she she told Marisol or no, she told
- 51:21Speaker 3: Alexia because like they weren't getting along, Like I offered
- 51:24Speaker 3: Marisol a play a place on the plane, but she
- 51:28Speaker 3: said like, no, I won't go without Alexia.
- 51:31Speaker 2: So do you want the last spot?
- 51:32Speaker 3: And she's like, well, no, because I'm not going to
- 51:35Speaker 3: go without Marisol.
- 51:37Speaker 2: She was trying to like split them up.
- 51:40Speaker 3: And then and then so they go back to like
- 51:42Speaker 3: a group dinner and she's like, I'll take Audriana because
- 51:48Speaker 3: like I I don't know her very well. And Audrianna's
- 51:52Speaker 3: pissed because Julia was invited and Julia would never say like, oh,
- 51:57Speaker 3: if Audriana's not going, I'm not going. Of course, not right,
- 52:02Speaker 3: And she's like and so she's upset because like she's,
- 52:06Speaker 3: you know, Alexei and marisa'll have this beautiful close friendship.
- 52:09Speaker 2: They'll never go anywhere without each other, like I wish
- 52:12Speaker 2: I had that.
- 52:14Speaker 1: She used to have it with Julia, right, And.
- 52:16Speaker 3: It's like and she thinks Julia should have spent like, oh, well,
- 52:20Speaker 3: if Alexia isn't coming, I'm not going, but no, hell yeah,
- 52:23Speaker 3: I'm going on the private jet.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Yeah, to go to Spain.
- 52:27Speaker 1: I think taking a private plane that far seems a little.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Scared, right, And I was like, this is like, this
- 52:33Speaker 3: is just to be messy, this is just to cause
- 52:36Speaker 3: cause chaos amongst the women and like pick pick teams.
- 52:41Speaker 1: Basically the New Girl. Every everything I've seen is like
- 52:45Speaker 1: that house that she was showing with her birken wall
- 52:47Speaker 1: and blah blah blah. My house is like way into foreclosure, right.
- 52:51Speaker 2: I was gonna say it's in foreclosure.
- 52:52Speaker 3: It seems like a lot of his properties like aren't
- 52:57Speaker 3: doing hot or he's not his business isn't doing hot.
- 53:00Speaker 1: It's true housewives fashion. I mean it's all a facade,
- 53:05Speaker 1: all smoke and mirrors. Now for OC this week, I
- 53:09Speaker 1: did get a chance to watch and people really really
- 53:16Speaker 1: you know and just you know, speaking of you, like
- 53:18Speaker 1: your show when you had the thing with Tarmra and
- 53:20Speaker 1: you and Chris were talking. I I I might be
- 53:24Speaker 1: one of the few people who's like, I don't mind Tamra.
- 53:27Speaker 1: I think she's good on the show right to bother me.
- 53:30Speaker 1: I don't know her.
- 53:31Speaker 3: I feel similarly like I just feel like so comfortable
- 53:36Speaker 3: with her, even though she makes me uncomfortable with the
- 53:40Speaker 3: things she does sometimes.
- 53:41Speaker 1: That's a good point. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, comfortable.
- 53:43Speaker 1: We're just we're with her. We've been with her, right, yeah,
- 53:48Speaker 1: sort of like Vicky, like we're with her, we've been
- 53:50Speaker 1: with her, right.
- 53:51Speaker 2: It's fun and like sensitized to how shitty she is.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Like we're also very desensitized to the new faces that
- 54:00Speaker 1: show up on our screen. We get used to them
- 54:03Speaker 1: really quickly, like really quickly. You'd be like when you
- 54:06Speaker 1: first see something, you're like, whoa, like larsa bibbin, whoa
- 54:10Speaker 1: she looks so different and you're like, eh, she looked
- 54:14Speaker 1: that different.
- 54:14Speaker 3: It all, it all sort of mashes together when you
- 54:17Speaker 3: when you really look at it.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Yeah, And like Gretchen literally looks like an Instagram filter,
- 54:22Speaker 1: Like how.
- 54:23Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 54:23Speaker 3: I was like, how does she walk around looking like
- 54:26Speaker 3: a little smudged?
- 54:27Speaker 2: Like I love it?
- 54:28Speaker 1: Just yeah, like we were saying before we started, like
- 54:30Speaker 1: we just need like a little bas lane on the Yeah,
- 54:32Speaker 1: how does she look like that?
- 54:34Speaker 2: I have no idea?
- 54:35Speaker 1: Magic, We need to get ready with me video from
- 54:38Speaker 1: her right, and she shows us what products.
- 54:41Speaker 3: She's setting spray or you're like primer or something, because
- 54:45Speaker 3: it's like.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Yeah, somebody this week, and I heard about this through
- 54:51Speaker 1: watchfood Crappins put out. You guys, go and listen to
- 54:56Speaker 1: the Crappin's recap to get this exact information. But somebody
- 54:59Speaker 1: put out a list of all of the problematic post
- 55:06Speaker 1: that Gretchen has liked this year, like not fifteen.
- 55:10Speaker 4: Years ago, yesterday, yeah, yeah, and they're all very much
- 55:16Speaker 4: like homosexuality equals pedophilia, you know, like just anti anti gay,
- 55:23Speaker 4: anti trans, like very maga.
- 55:27Speaker 1: But it's not even it's not even like anti gay,
- 55:30Speaker 1: it's it's it's.
- 55:32Speaker 2: It's like damaging gay like it's it's.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Like it's like if you're homosexual, that means you're a pedophile.
- 55:39Speaker 2: It's like yeah, like lad propaganda, like.
- 55:42Speaker 1: And it's so upsetting. And I will tell you that
- 55:46Speaker 1: this week on Crapus. I was listening earlier today and
- 55:48Speaker 1: that's the whole thing is Like before they started, Ben
- 55:52Speaker 1: was telling Ronnie about it because he was like, I
- 55:53Speaker 1: know you probably liked gretching this episode. I don't want
- 55:56Speaker 1: to get too far down the story before I tell
- 55:58Speaker 1: you what happened. And so every single thing than after
- 56:01Speaker 1: that that they would say about Gretchen and he'd be like, God,
- 56:03Speaker 1: I love that she's taken Tamper down, but ooh.
- 56:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's frustrated.
- 56:08Speaker 3: It really like messes with watching it because they're like, oh,
- 56:12Speaker 3: this is satisfying, but also she's so shitty and bad
- 56:15Speaker 3: for society.
- 56:17Speaker 1: She's actually maybe she's a bad person. Oh, I mean,
- 56:20Speaker 1: it's not like we didn't know it.
- 56:22Speaker 3: Right, right, And it's like with Orange County, we should
- 56:24Speaker 3: expect like the majority of them might lean right, yeah,
- 56:27Speaker 3: like it's a privative area, but like to be so
- 56:30Speaker 3: aggressively like spreading misinformation about it, Like it's like, hey, yeah, yeah.
- 56:37Speaker 1: It's interesting you said that. So it's like it's one
- 56:39Speaker 1: thing to like lean right and be a Republican. Find
- 56:41Speaker 1: everybody has their own opinions, and most people in my
- 56:43Speaker 1: family are and I am different, and that's okay, like
- 56:46Speaker 1: everybody we can all just get along. But it's so
- 56:49Speaker 1: interesting that you said that. But so, my husband is
- 56:51Speaker 1: a lobbyist here in DC. He works for a company.
- 56:53Speaker 1: He's not the for higher kind. He's working the same
- 56:55Speaker 1: company for I don't know, thirty years, so we're certain
- 57:00Speaker 1: energy company. And he was talking today about a guy
- 57:02Speaker 1: he knows, and I was like, how is this just
- 57:05Speaker 1: guy that's been in our zeitgeist for all these years.
- 57:07Speaker 1: And he was talking about how he's meeting him for lunch,
- 57:09Speaker 1: and I go, what did you ever even get to know?
- 57:12Speaker 1: How did you ever get to know him? Because he's
- 57:14Speaker 1: like a big Republican lobbyist and my husband's very in
- 57:19Speaker 1: the middle. And he goes, uh, oh, well, this was
- 57:21Speaker 1: back in the day when I first met him, when
- 57:23Speaker 1: I worked for this Democratic congressman. He worked for a
- 57:26Speaker 1: Republican congressman. But that was back in the day when
- 57:29Speaker 1: we all just hung around together, leaned against the wall
- 57:32Speaker 1: and talked shit about everybody. Basically, you know, as the lobbyist,
- 57:36Speaker 1: we're all just like, I'm going to go to that
- 57:38Speaker 1: office and that office Democrat. Was it so separated, right, right,
- 57:42Speaker 1: he goes, And that's how we got to be good friends.
- 57:43Speaker 1: And we're just like still good friends, even though we're
- 57:45Speaker 1: you know, kind of on different sides of the aisle.
- 57:47Speaker 1: We agree on a lot of the same issues in
- 57:50Speaker 1: the energy policy. I was like, it's so interesting, right,
- 57:53Speaker 1: and he goes, yeah. He gues, I got so many
- 57:54Speaker 1: of those guys that we all just look back at it,
- 57:57Speaker 1: we see it now how it is now, and it's
- 58:00Speaker 1: so divided, right, right, he goes, you feel like he goes,
- 58:04Speaker 1: he goes, and in that weird that you just asked me, like,
- 58:08Speaker 1: you know, he goes ten years ago, would you have
- 58:10Speaker 1: asked me like A, You're.
- 58:12Speaker 3: Like surpright and you're like whoa, Like how did you Yeah? Yeah,
- 58:15Speaker 3: how do you even this guy connect?
- 58:16Speaker 1: Like yeah, and he goes ten years ago? You probably wouldn't.
- 58:19Speaker 1: I go, no, I wouldn't thought anything about it. But
- 58:21Speaker 1: now everything is so divided totally.
- 58:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:23Speaker 1: And it's so interesting you say that because when you
- 58:25Speaker 1: see something like OC and you think, well, all these
- 58:28Speaker 1: women are probably like that. I just think, like you
- 58:31Speaker 1: look at Heather du Bro, who has.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Right, and it's like Heather obviously isn't.
- 58:36Speaker 1: Isn't because she's got children on all forms of the
- 58:39Speaker 1: gay spectrum, you know. And my understanding is is that
- 58:44Speaker 1: at the end of the season this is all to
- 58:46Speaker 1: come to a head.
- 58:47Speaker 3: But yeah, I was gonna say, like Tamra and in
- 58:49Speaker 3: an interview sort of said, it seems like it gets
- 58:53Speaker 3: dark and the the issue with like Gretchen liking hate
- 59:00Speaker 3: things that yes that aren't true, yes that you know,
- 59:05Speaker 3: going yeah, like it's gonna like come up and like,
- 59:10Speaker 3: you know, good on Heather for like being a mama.
- 59:13Speaker 2: Bear and like calling out calling out hate.
- 59:16Speaker 1: Like yeah, it's really really interesting. So it's sort of
- 59:20Speaker 1: interesting how this particular show sort of like the one
- 59:24Speaker 1: season of Real House West of New York where they
- 59:26Speaker 1: were having you know, Carol Radswell and all that. Because
- 59:29Speaker 1: generally politics and what's happening in the world other than
- 59:32Speaker 1: COVID don't enter into our shows at all. It's like
- 59:35Speaker 1: it's its own bubble that doesn't change, you know, it's
- 59:38Speaker 1: like being in the movie with Jen Carrey shum shoe.
- 59:46Speaker 1: But it's gonna be interesting because I mean, everybody's sort
- 59:49Speaker 1: of heard. At the end of this season, it comes
- 59:50Speaker 1: to a head and it is regarding Heather, You're broke
- 59:53Speaker 1: kind of finding out Gretchen's hateful views.
- 59:57Speaker 3: Right yeah, and it's yeah, it's it's like a sign
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: of our times that like the political is becoming so
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: interpersonal that like it's gonna yeah, like it's gonna be
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: an issue between housewives like who live in and.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Like, yeah, very interesting. I think I don't know how
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: we got on this topic, but I yeah, I feel
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: I'm very happy for Gina and I know a lot
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: of people are Emily and Gina Boo. I'm like, Emily,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: she's fine. I don't know, so I have a strong opinion,
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: but I just.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: Love I do too. I love her.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: I love her little silly accent that she plays into,
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: like and I'm I'm so like I feel happy for her,
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: Like it's great she's in a big enough house. She's
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: not in her casita, Like she's worked her way up.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: She and Travis are like working through like his difficult stuff.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Like I think that situation is still bad.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: I feel so bad for them and for their kids
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: to be like uprooted or not see like a step
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: sibling for a long time, Like that just has.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: To be hard.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: And like she's handling she seems to be like handling
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: it well and like like growing with with her circumstances.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and good for her unless she's like you know,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: of course, I'm like, if I lived in the OC,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: i'd buy a house from Gina, right.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Like yeah, and according according to my husband who's from there,
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: like that's what everyone does in Orange County. He's like, yeah,
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: if I have a friend who's stayed in Orange County
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: there in real estate, Like it's what you do there.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Really, Well that's interesting.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, good for her.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: She's killing it in a difficult market.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: Right, Yeah.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: But was he always a real chor Travis, I don't know.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: I feel like he kind of was under the impression
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: they did it around the same time, or he became
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: a realtor like right before her, But I'm not sure.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Huh. Well, I don't know what's happening with his ex,
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: but that just seems like such a toxic situation. I mean,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: she's told stories I've heard on podcast except where like
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: she'll come outside her house and that woman is like
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: across the street taking pictures of her.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Yeah, she's like harasses them and like withholds the children,
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: like which is so cruel to the kids.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Like it's so messed up.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: You're just like God, at some point you gotta let.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: It go right, and it's yeah, it just.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Well, I am glad that I feel.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: Bad for her, but like also I'm like kind of
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: proud of her, Like I feel like we're watching her like,
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: you know, tough it out and get through hard situations
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: and like, you know, like.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: I liked how when Shannon got the DUI and everything.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: I liked how she really sat with Shannon and she
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: was like, she was like, but you didn't have a
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: drinking problem, and she goes, yes, I did shed a drink. Yeah,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: I liked all of it, so listen again. My opinion
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: on Emily is like she's fine. You know, it's just
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: sort of like me, I don't care, like I feel
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: like we about Jen Padronti. She's fine, but I really like,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: I like too, Yeah, I kind of love Jen because
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: like I love like a naive baby. And I feel
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: like somehow, even though she around these people, she hasn't
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: quite like learned what their personalities are like yet, Like
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: she's still surprised that Tama's like shitting on her.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: They said this week they kept saying the fatty photo
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: of Oh, I.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: Was like, that's still it's like me on a good day.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: So fatty photo. This woman had like four kids, like
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: fatty photo. Oh my god, oh rough, she should just
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: go on her Instagram at posts like the fatty photo
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: and then what she looks like now and be like
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: suck it, you know, yeah, like I did this, you know.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: And then Katie, Oh, Katie, jury's out on Katie. Katie
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: also doesn't know how to play the game.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: I feel I feel bad for her, Like I hate
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: watching a group gang up on one person, especially if
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: that's the only person of.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Color on the cast.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Yeah right, I.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Just wish she would.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: I just wish she would admit things when she got caught,
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: because she'll like kind of she kind of like tell
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: the line with the life for a bit and then
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: like half admitt it. And it's like, girl, just come
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: clean when you get caught. It'll make things so much easier.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Yes, just like I was new here, I didn't know.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: I thought this is what we did. Yeah, I shouldn't
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: have done it, and then I shouldn't have showed it,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: you know. I just I'm trying to They always sy
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: I'm trying to fit in with this group, which means
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: I'm trying to be on the show, right.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: Like I'm trying to stay relevant.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and she could just like admit it. But it's
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: just like that, you know, heatherdbro And like I did
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: not call the Papa Razzi on myself, Well, no you didn't,
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: but your PR person did, right.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: It was like, yeah, you specifically didn't dial right.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: Sure, But like Katie just needs to be a little
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: smarter because I do want her to stay.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: Right, And I like that she ruffles the heather's feathers,
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: like without like lying when she does that, you know,
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: so like, yeah, I like her.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: I think her story of being in a bad marriage
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: and then the kids and back, I think that is
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: relatable to a low totally.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: And I I think her showing you know, you can
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: like get through these things. I think all that is
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: a good story that we're not getting to hear because
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: she just shut herself in the foot right away.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: She's yeah, this whole like did you call the blogger
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: stuff is like yeah, taking over.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: Which Kiki Monique is like she definitely called me right totally.
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: It's like also just come clean where it's like you
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: can even say like sorry, like I come from like
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: a sort of journalism like call other journalists background even
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: like I'd buy that as like a golf reporter, you know,
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: it's like just be real, be like I thought I was.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: I thought I could play like both games. Realize I can.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: As a golf reporter, you know.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: But it's like it's like, because you know, I was
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: talking to my husband about this, he's a journalist, and
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: he's like he's like, I do kind of see where
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: she's coming from. If she's coming all from a journalists
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: lens of like sure, I'll like.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Kiki with with Kiki.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll have a chat with these girls all sort
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: of a staffs a relationship with them, like like you
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: would as a journalist.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: But it's like, but you're a real housewife in this instance.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, And I'm.
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: Like, this is giving her a lot of grace. And
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: where she's coming from.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: Is she calling another golf reporter to be like did
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: you hear.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: No, No, it's like she's seeking out like Bravo Gossipers.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: So yeah, well look.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: She made it onto a season two and that's a
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: big hurdle.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: Right, I was gonna say, yeah, she stayed relevant enough,
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: ruffled the right feathers.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: I do love looking at her because she's so pretty.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Tony's so stylish, and I'm like I always enjoyed just
