- 1:39Speaker 8: Yes, it's so old fashioned, it's so old school. It's
- 1:43Speaker 8: like I saw one the other day.
- 1:45Speaker 4: I was the Americana and I was returning my fucking phone.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Oh it keeps breaking.
- 1:50Speaker 8: Keeps breaking because I keep dropping it.

- 1:58Speaker 2: And it's glass, and why do they do that?
- 2:01Speaker 6: It's just like it's a little piece.
- 2:04Speaker 8: Of chandeliers, the Genius Bar exactly. I was the Genius Bar.
- 2:08Speaker 4: I was dropping my phone and then I went to
- 2:11Speaker 4: pick it up and I locked eyes with a kid
- 2:14Speaker 4: with it.
- 2:16Speaker 8: In it and I went.
- 2:19Speaker 2: An audible gas that's.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Audible, like it jostled me because I never thought I
- 2:23Speaker 4: got I get one in real life.
- 2:24Speaker 2: It's so rare these days to find kids and malls.
- 2:27Speaker 6: It's an ethereal moment.
- 2:28Speaker 9: When it happens, I feel like, yes, yeah, when you're Disney.
- 2:32Speaker 8: You're Disney, You're coming with me?
- 2:34Speaker 3: How funny you care?
- 2:36Speaker 5: I don't you know what I love what I love about?

- 2:39Speaker 2: I don't.
- 2:39Speaker 6: I don't care.
- 2:40Speaker 5: I'm going to say. I'm gonna say it once I
- 2:42Speaker 5: get their attention.
- 2:42Speaker 6: Don't do it.
- 2:43Speaker 5: What I love about her, no, no, no, no no.
- 2:45Speaker 7: What I love about her is when she realizes she
- 2:47Speaker 7: found it, her eyes narrow in. It's almost like like
- 2:51Speaker 7: she stays completely still. I have to wake sometimes I
- 2:53Speaker 7: have to splash some water on.
- 2:54Speaker 9: Oh my god, Amphibians too, if you've noticed they, they
- 2:57Speaker 9: sometimes they have a second set of eyelids that kind
- 2:59Speaker 9: of flip down, and it's something it is.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I think it's a trait that we smell casting in
- 3:04Speaker 2: the water.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Everybody else do when they see when they see someone
- 3:08Speaker 4: with it, when.
- 3:08Speaker 3: They know, well, I think I was with you and
- 3:10Speaker 3: you did have your eyelids zero in. We're at the
- 3:13Speaker 3: Little Sunshine, Little Sunshine, the Little Miss Sunshine premiere party,
- 3:17Speaker 3: and we met a young Benny Drama straight in the
- 3:21Speaker 3: back of your head, huge spectacular.
- 3:24Speaker 2: So young.
- 3:26Speaker 5: I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what I do.
- 3:28Speaker 7: I I I kind of step back and people say,
- 3:32Speaker 7: are you finish?
- 3:33Speaker 5: Is there some sort of smell?
- 3:34Speaker 7: And you'll know that I think I found it when
- 3:36Speaker 7: I go, well, that was terrible that.
- 3:40Speaker 1: It's almost like sarcastic, almost sarcastic.
- 3:42Speaker 8: Well like that, that's so funny. I'm sure they love that.
- 3:48Speaker 2: They've got to love that. I think they absolutely do, right, they.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Absolutely, specially you guys feel that. Yeah, Oh please, you
- 3:55Speaker 3: guys go it's so special. You guys think there's something
- 3:57Speaker 3: special in someone, because I find that everywhere. And I
- 4:00Speaker 3: don't really.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Give a fuck what do you mean by that?
- 4:03Speaker 3: Sometimes I just go, you.
- 4:07Speaker 8: A nihilist of the whole.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Yeah, she's always the bad girl, the bad girl, always
- 4:13Speaker 1: the negative. Well you're always, Yeah, you're always talking about
- 4:16Speaker 1: how the industry is not coming back and it's not
- 4:17Speaker 1: working and it's never working.
- 4:18Speaker 2: You've been talking like that for twenty five years.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Well, I'm going to do that until they give us
- 4:22Speaker 3: an Oscar nom category.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And they just did it, and they just did, literally
- 4:27Speaker 2: they just did.
- 4:27Speaker 3: It's the first time hearing, So it's okay.
- 4:31Speaker 4: If you need forty five minutes to adjust, it's okay.
- 4:33Speaker 3: It yourself. My entire feed is just talent and I
- 4:37Speaker 3: and what I'll do is I'll have a breakdown. I
- 4:39Speaker 3: won't even read the fucking breakdown, and I'll go stop that.
- 4:43Speaker 5: Yeah, they call you the queen of f you casting.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sorry that happens to be the Queen of
- 4:48Speaker 3: Los Angeles. Hi, guys, my name is Titty and.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I've worked Titty T I D D Y T DoD

- 4:59Speaker 3: She's oh, why I have been casting? I'd say about
- 5:04Speaker 3: forty six years now, that long? Yeah, I know. Blessed,
- 5:08Speaker 3: blessed to be here, one of the original members of
- 5:09Speaker 3: the SOHO House when there was only one.
- 5:12Speaker 9: El al Pacino, right, yeah, literally really literally gambling away.
- 5:18Speaker 5: Literally, it's now so fun.
- 5:20Speaker 9: He's so fun, very so thick, thick energy, such a yes,
- 5:25Speaker 9: the room feels thick.
- 5:27Speaker 6: He's very baldings.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Nothing is more exciting than when an offer goes out
- 5:31Speaker 1: to Al because you don't know if he's going to
- 5:33Speaker 1: pick up or somebody else. It's kind of fun, you know,
- 5:35Speaker 1: because it's not you're calling his team, you're calling his
- 5:37Speaker 1: house and he still has a landline, and he picks
- 5:40Speaker 1: up and goes.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Huh oh, yeah, you know what.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Honestly, his agents are getting so old that they won't
- 5:45Speaker 3: get back to me. So I talk contact his nanny.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yes for his literal eight month old baby, right.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yes, and she'll tell me his schedule if I can
- 5:52Speaker 3: send an offer out or if he's on a veil.
- 5:54Speaker 6: Well, and I have to say, she has something.
- 5:57Speaker 2: She does, she has a glimmer, she's giving.
- 6:00Speaker 3: She has something in a way that doesn't have anything,
- 6:02Speaker 3: and that works for me.
- 6:03Speaker 6: She said.
- 6:04Speaker 4: She gave one of the most inspired reids of the
- 6:06Speaker 4: phrase let me check I've ever heard.
- 6:09Speaker 3: It's incredible. But anyway, so happy to be here. I
- 6:11Speaker 3: love you guys. What agency, with what casting agency, and
- 6:15Speaker 3: with I'm titty, I'm my own TDD. But yeah, I
- 6:24Speaker 3: right now I'm doing a lot of multi cam and
- 6:28Speaker 3: I'm not bummed about it. I think I think we're
- 6:32Speaker 3: in a new era right now for multi cam.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I think absolutely it's coming back in such a big way.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I'm so excited.
- 6:36Speaker 3: And it's basically just co Star Nation over there where
- 6:39Speaker 3: I just like Maileman next week, next week, white or
- 6:41Speaker 3: two next week. Because I got my originals, I got
- 6:43Speaker 3: my my my c c rs C E R I
- 6:50Speaker 3: E S That's what I call S S R I
- 6:54Speaker 3: S is what we say.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Oh my god, you're bad. You're so bad. But you're
- 6:59Speaker 1: so bad.
- 6:59Speaker 3: And I work on my own agency with twelve young
- 7:03Speaker 3: blonde girls. Well that work below.
- 7:05Speaker 6: We belong somewhere.
- 7:09Speaker 5: I'm you are young.
- 7:12Speaker 6: You introduce yourself, a mindset, the mindset.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Introduce yourself, introduce yourself.
- 7:17Speaker 9: I'm Mindy mosh m m c imm casting casting. You know,
- 7:21Speaker 9: I went independent about twelve.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Years, No, twelve years, it's been twelve years.
- 7:25Speaker 3: You saying welcome, the water is warm.
- 7:27Speaker 9: I know, and you and you brought me that basket
- 7:29Speaker 9: of what was a card tay or yes it was,
- 7:32Speaker 9: it was tato basket.
- 7:35Speaker 2: It shouldn't be there, just shouldn't be there.
- 7:37Speaker 6: Like yours and what I wanted you to have that
- 7:40Speaker 6: I know, and I really I ate all of it.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Whoa Mindy that night, I'm laughing. I'm really laughing.
- 7:48Speaker 2: I'm screaming and laughing the best way, I mean, in.
- 7:50Speaker 6: The best way I brought one to.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Just Knowdi, I'm laughing.
- 7:54Speaker 6: I haven't you know?
- 7:55Speaker 3: Backstage?
- 7:56Speaker 5: Well, and then we call you because you're always just shoving.
- 7:59Speaker 1: C and also treating your actors is just kindness. I think, well,
- 8:03Speaker 1: can we just talk about your approach to casting.
- 8:05Speaker 2: To do that, just jump in, like, just just just
- 8:08Speaker 2: jump in.
- 8:08Speaker 9: Well, the first thing I always look at are the eyebrows,
- 8:11Speaker 9: because you can tell a lot about a person from
- 8:12Speaker 9: the eyebrows.
- 8:13Speaker 6: Are they plucked? Are they laminated? Are?
- 8:15Speaker 9: And so that really tells me all I need to know.
- 8:17Speaker 9: And then I work from there. I work all the
- 8:18Speaker 9: way down to the feet.
- 8:20Speaker 2: And yeah, that's kind of like you're body scanning people.
- 8:23Speaker 9: I body scan a lot, and personality is kind of
- 8:25Speaker 9: a last result because you know resort.
- 8:28Speaker 3: See I feel that way about.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Talent, so funny, I'm laughing.
- 8:33Speaker 9: Yeah, no, I know, I know I can hear that.
- 8:36Speaker 9: So yeah, that's kind of how I do it. And
- 8:38Speaker 9: then if they smell even better because a fragrant you know,
- 8:41Speaker 9: you want fragrance on set and you want smells go
- 8:43Speaker 9: to a bad Yeah. So yeah, and then talent, of
- 8:46Speaker 9: course matters, I mean does matter.
- 8:52Speaker 6: Yeah, I think so.
- 8:53Speaker 9: The first times like them just natural, okay, natural in
- 8:58Speaker 9: what way?
- 8:58Speaker 6: Just with no botox.
- 9:02Speaker 2: M that's a discussion for a later put a pin
- 9:07Speaker 2: in it. I'm laughing, lost.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Discussion or what what about your process?
- 9:15Speaker 6: I mean, how do you how do you do it?
- 9:17Speaker 6: Because you're incredible.
- 9:18Speaker 5: I have to because you also to introduce yourself in
- 9:20Speaker 5: a way I've never seen.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Okay, yes, okay, here it all comes.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I'm John Jacob Johnson. I am a casting director at JJJ.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I went independent just recently last month.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Actually, remember all do I said the Jacuzzi's big, We're
- 9:37Speaker 3: in it.
- 9:38Speaker 1: And it was kind of this moment I actually realized,
- 9:41Speaker 1: you know what, like I need a little bit of space.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I need a little bit of space to do my thing.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I was at Betty May for a while, I was
- 9:45Speaker 1: doing commercial casting for a while. I was doing theatrical
- 9:48Speaker 1: casting for a while, and I just really settled down
- 9:51Speaker 1: and I said, on Jacob Johnson, you need your own
- 9:54Speaker 1: lane right now. You need to be doing your movies.
- 9:56Speaker 1: So I now am independent. I'm so excited.
- 10:01Speaker 2: It's kind of a first year.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I'm doing a lot of the eight twenty four films
- 10:04Speaker 1: that were was working on at a twenty four in neon.
- 10:07Speaker 1: So I do a twenty four neon And.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Really they do not like that. They do not like that.
- 10:16Speaker 1: They are very very actually obsessed, but they are constantly
- 10:18Speaker 1: finding over John Jaco Johnson and it's just very exciting though,
- 10:22Speaker 1: it's just very exciting to be in rooms like that
- 10:24Speaker 1: because you really just get to see acting and you're
- 10:28Speaker 1: looking for such specific types of actors for these, for
- 10:32Speaker 1: these and choices big but grounded, and huge but emotional
- 10:36Speaker 1: but not crying but crying. And so a lot of
- 10:39Speaker 1: my actors they leave going. You helped me so much.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I was so confused by the end of it, and
- 10:44Speaker 1: I go, that's exactly where I want you to be.
- 10:46Speaker 1: That's exactly I want you to feel leaving like you
- 10:48Speaker 1: you don't feel like a good actor, just a little bit,
- 10:51Speaker 1: you know, just a little bit like you're questioning every
- 10:53Speaker 1: single moment of your life. That's so yeah, that's my approach.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you, and to you.
- 11:00Speaker 5: And I love that little noise. And I can't believe
- 11:01Speaker 5: you had it patented.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I had it patented. I thought it was just so
- 11:04Speaker 1: every time an actor comes into room. Igo, eh, literally
- 11:07Speaker 1: we have here.
- 11:08Speaker 6: It's viral on TikTok, absolutely.
- 11:10Speaker 2: God viral, mega viral, you have it. It's mine.
- 11:13Speaker 5: It's I saw a moom. I call it moome what.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Somebody I'm laughing.
- 11:19Speaker 5: I saw a moom that said, basically, what do you
- 11:21Speaker 5: mean by moom? You know that word? Emmy emmy, I
- 11:24Speaker 5: call it moom. It's me, but I call it moon.
- 11:27Speaker 6: I think.
- 11:30Speaker 7: Internet ami, but I saw I saw a moome that
- 11:33Speaker 7: said when you see when you hear this noise, you
- 11:36Speaker 7: know you're about to bomb an audition.
- 11:38Speaker 1: That is I am laughing out loud. I'm actually laughing.
- 11:43Speaker 6: That's gator. Have you thought about it?
- 11:45Speaker 2: I stop it. I was an actor for many, many
- 11:48Speaker 2: years and I had to give it up. I had
- 11:49Speaker 2: to give it up. I had to give it up.
- 11:51Speaker 1: I was an actor for the first year of college
- 11:53Speaker 1: and then I just had to give it up.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Wow, that's incredible.
- 12:01Speaker 5: I love.
- 12:05Speaker 8: But I got a glass of wine in his hand.
- 12:08Speaker 2: No, I don't you are bad? So bad?
- 12:11Speaker 4: Yeah, if I wish it, yeah later.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Yeah, they're really good.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Slushy is almost everything is better with a.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Slush Tell me about it, Tell me about it.
- 12:30Speaker 8: Soup, slushy should be, should be in a perfect world.
- 12:34Speaker 5: Well, do I have a spotcher for you?
- 12:36Speaker 8: It's okay, Hi, Hey, okay. I'm Cassidy Casty.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Jones and I run Cassidy Casting and that is, uh,
- 12:49Speaker 4: you know, the number one kids commercial castes.
- 12:55Speaker 8: Huge short of that's sort.
- 12:56Speaker 5: Of my lane.
- 12:56Speaker 8: But you know, I've been all over and.
- 12:59Speaker 1: You are is when it comes to the kids with
- 13:02Speaker 1: the kids, the whiz with the kids. You're a wizdom
- 13:05Speaker 1: on those kids. You know how to just talk to kids.
- 13:07Speaker 3: You just really know how the second you went independent,
- 13:09Speaker 3: I went welcome, Welcome. The fields big yes.
- 13:12Speaker 5: Sometimes yes, sometimes and I.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Wish it were a hot up, I know, but the pool.
- 13:16Speaker 7: Sometimes I'm gonna be honest, Sometimes I will walk into
- 13:20Speaker 7: two Hundo South Librea, a very well known casting office
- 13:23Speaker 7: here in Los Angeles, and I'll just go there to
- 13:25Speaker 7: hear you describe a role to children because you're so
- 13:29Speaker 7: good at gathering people in a circle, telling the kids
- 13:32Speaker 7: what they're going to do, which is going to be unbelievably.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Complicated for children.
- 13:36Speaker 5: Yeah, it's so.
- 13:37Speaker 1: And you have you have a way of getting a
- 13:40Speaker 1: kid's attention in such a way that makes his parents
- 13:43Speaker 1: feel embarrassed.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Yeah, which is so amazing.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Because here's the big secret about kids. And I'll tell
- 13:48Speaker 4: you the big secret about kids. And if you're a
- 13:50Speaker 4: teacher maybe or if you're a parent, listen up, because
- 13:53Speaker 4: this is helpful.
- 13:54Speaker 8: Kids want to be talked.
- 13:55Speaker 4: To like their baby, So if they like a six
- 14:01Speaker 4: year old, they want to be talked to like they're two,
- 14:03Speaker 4: yeah minus four years, so searching.
- 14:08Speaker 6: They want to feel comfortable exactly.
- 14:10Speaker 3: And I believe I can't believe you're still running your
- 14:12Speaker 3: sessions because I mean, you are such a like if.
- 14:15Speaker 8: I was, I just can't. I'm a control freak.
- 14:17Speaker 5: Up.
- 14:17Speaker 3: You are so bad them I gotta be like that's
- 14:20Speaker 3: it's it's pretty inspiring because I mean, ever since self
- 14:24Speaker 3: tape era, I mean, we.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Need to talk about it, but put a pin in it.
- 14:31Speaker 3: I haven't gotten off my ass.
- 14:33Speaker 5: I'm going to need another.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I'm bad. You are bad.
- 14:37Speaker 3: God, I don't get off my ass ever. I sold
- 14:40Speaker 3: my building. I don't need to pay for one fucking thing.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Make them all pay for it.
- 14:45Speaker 5: I don't have to go into it.
- 14:47Speaker 2: What are you going about?
- 14:48Speaker 3: I could lay in bed.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Okay, let's put a pin in it.
- 14:51Speaker 9: Higher's hour now and zoom right on zoom.
- 14:55Speaker 5: God see.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I love you because you always say you want to
- 14:58Speaker 1: speak to them like a baby, but you're always so
- 15:01Speaker 1: angry at the baby right.
- 15:03Speaker 8: So well, I mean I basically, I mean I can
- 15:07Speaker 8: walk you through it.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Please do so.
- 15:09Speaker 4: If let's say let's say we're doing let's say we're
- 15:12Speaker 4: doing uh oh God, what's that thing?
- 15:15Speaker 3: What's that thing?
- 15:16Speaker 6: What's that warm? Smuckers warm jam?
- 15:20Speaker 9: Right, Okay, I'm.
- 15:24Speaker 8: Thinking of smuckers.

- 15:27Speaker 8: It's jam jelly.
- 15:28Speaker 3: That's thinking of the product for you think of the
- 15:31Speaker 3: product jam.
- 15:33Speaker 2: So how we were going to guess that? I have
- 15:34Speaker 2: no idea. We were like, what's that thing? We were thinking,
- 15:37Speaker 2: if you can.
- 15:39Speaker 5: With the rest?
- 15:42Speaker 3: So exactly, it was funny way you thought of something else?
- 15:44Speaker 8: That's so funny.
- 15:45Speaker 4: So let's say let's say let's say we have a
- 15:48Speaker 4: seven year old kid reading in for.
- 15:51Speaker 8: Smucker's Boy and the line is Smuckers good. So you
- 15:56Speaker 8: want to get their attention.
- 15:57Speaker 4: You want to go, baby, come here, your little baby,
- 16:02Speaker 4: come he your little baby.
- 16:03Speaker 8: Listen, these are your lines. These are your lines, your
- 16:06Speaker 8: little baby.
- 16:07Speaker 4: You're gonna say good, and if you don't, your mom's
- 16:10Speaker 4: gonna be rolling mud.
- 16:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 4: And then they're so jolted that they forget all of
- 16:15Speaker 4: their like sort of you know, bad child actor training.
- 16:19Speaker 1: And they just read it that it's like somebody who's
- 16:21Speaker 1: never talken to an actual baby before. It's more like
- 16:25Speaker 1: a bully middle school bullies. Yeah, you love it.
- 16:27Speaker 8: Seen so many babies on TV. I've like thought about babies, like,
- 16:32Speaker 8: so I know kids.
- 16:33Speaker 4: I don't have any of my own, I don't have
- 16:35Speaker 4: any siblings, I don't have any family, but I know babies.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Well, here's the thing.
- 16:41Speaker 3: No, I don't need you don't need it. You don't
- 16:43Speaker 3: need it, and clean it out. What I think about
- 16:45Speaker 3: you is that, like all of us stopped being mean
- 16:48Speaker 3: about ten years ago, and we were like, no, let's
- 16:51Speaker 3: just always smile and always make them feel okay. And
- 16:56Speaker 3: you are kind of giving this old fashioned cast like
- 17:00Speaker 3: a cartoon casting.
- 17:01Speaker 8: Got to say the two thousands, the early two that
- 17:03Speaker 8: they're back. You know, we're coming back into a time where,
- 17:07Speaker 8: you know, we gotta start being a little rough around.
- 17:10Speaker 9: Well, shake up the safe space because the safe space
- 17:13Speaker 9: has become too safe.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Wow, you know.
- 17:16Speaker 7: And also a lot of people perform in safety, right firefighters,
- 17:19Speaker 7: if they felt safe, they wouldn't do their job.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Oh my god, I'm going to say the fire's toxic.
- 17:24Speaker 3: They're going to say the fires, fire, fires, fire through it.
- 17:27Speaker 2: There's nothing toxic about a fire, nothing.
- 17:30Speaker 3: So why why why would we be toxic if we said, yeah.
- 17:34Speaker 2: The latest and the greatest, let me just.
- 17:36Speaker 7: Rush through this like I'm a college grad.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Let me rush through this slate like of a college.
- 17:42Speaker 10: Yeah exactly, yeah, hid Hi, I'm Victor Vincent Vega and
- 17:48Speaker 10: VVV casting, and I am five nine, and I am willing.
- 17:52Speaker 5: To shave Oh so commercial, I know, not commercial in
- 17:56Speaker 5: any way. That was a commercial I am, I will.
- 17:59Speaker 7: I use to audition for commercials. But now you I mean,
- 18:02Speaker 7: we're names, we're nabies, are we we are offices next
- 18:05Speaker 7: to each other. So but I specialize in it's funny,
- 18:13Speaker 7: it's funny.
- 18:13Speaker 6: It is funny.
- 18:14Speaker 7: I specialize in in roles that are a lot of
- 18:18Speaker 7: them are historical roles.
- 18:20Speaker 5: A lot of them are weird roles.
- 18:21Speaker 7: You know, the roles where somebody goes, you know, our
- 18:24Speaker 7: writer wrote gross Man with genital rash, and we don't
- 18:29Speaker 7: know who to go to.
- 18:30Speaker 5: We're embarrassed to look for those people.
- 18:33Speaker 7: It's gonna be me VVB and we're gonna get out there.
- 18:35Speaker 7: And I'm and I'm casting the nasty roles. I'm casting
- 18:38Speaker 7: the weird roles. I'm casting the.
- 18:40Speaker 5: People that you need for your thing, that you're embarrassed
- 18:44Speaker 5: to talk to. And that's me. I'm happy to go
- 18:46Speaker 5: out there.
- 18:47Speaker 7: I'm happy to go out there and and and and
- 18:49Speaker 7: get a role for dumb woman who hates herself.
- 18:53Speaker 5: You know, I'm the one that looks for those.
- 18:57Speaker 8: Fantastic for that if you if you, if you need her?
- 19:00Speaker 5: Oh yeah, do you know where she's right now? No?
- 19:02Speaker 5: But I could find her, Okay.
- 19:04Speaker 6: I could find her.
- 19:06Speaker 8: I'm people in the mall. They go back to the
- 19:07Speaker 8: same spot.
- 19:08Speaker 6: Wait, well, go ahead, the TikTok community will come through
- 19:12Speaker 6: for you.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Can find any one.
- 19:14Speaker 7: And I will say, me and my people the way
- 19:16Speaker 7: I counteract the kind of things that I'm asking for,
- 19:18Speaker 7: which are sometimes degrading and demoralizing but important. You know,
- 19:21Speaker 7: it's yeah, you need, you need the nuts and the
- 19:24Speaker 7: bolts of certain things, which is weird people enrolls.
- 19:26Speaker 5: Sometimes. I like to become really good friends with my actors.
- 19:30Speaker 5: I love them.
- 19:30Speaker 7: I hang out with them, I have them over for
- 19:32Speaker 7: lunch and dinner and and you know, do you guys
- 19:35Speaker 7: become friends with some of your actors.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Well, what's interesting about what you do is that you
- 19:40Speaker 3: work just with one role. Right, You're not higher like
- 19:42Speaker 3: on a movie, right, like on a show.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Kind of a fixer.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Wow, you're coming in a v.
- 19:47Speaker 3: An independent contract exactly exactly, which is so interesting so
- 19:51Speaker 3: I imagine that Foster is a relationship with that actor
- 19:53Speaker 3: because usually I'm just on shows or movies and I
- 19:57Speaker 3: do everybody and everything in there. Which is so funny
- 19:59Speaker 3: because I want to talk to you guys about this
- 20:01Speaker 3: because I'm all of us mostly are being hired for
- 20:06Speaker 3: a project to do all the casting. The big guns
- 20:10Speaker 3: will do offers out right to the top of the line.
- 20:15Speaker 3: So it just naturally has me treating co stars and
- 20:19Speaker 3: guest stars less than absolutely because most of my job
- 20:22Speaker 3: is emailing Ryan Reynolds Company, and actually they are. And
- 20:26Speaker 3: then when I remember at the end of the day
- 20:30Speaker 3: that I need a waitress that has an eight page
- 20:33Speaker 3: scene and.
- 20:34Speaker 2: You put fifteen people pinned and you just have to.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Send out the tape. I'll send out the tape right
- 20:38Speaker 3: before I go to bed, and I say it's due
- 20:40Speaker 3: in the morning. Yeah, because I forgot because I was
- 20:43Speaker 3: working with celebrities.
- 20:44Speaker 5: We should explain what what it is.
- 20:45Speaker 7: We should explain to the layman what pinned means. Pin
- 20:48Speaker 7: means that you're almost going to ever get there.
- 20:52Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, you're almost just to know if.
- 20:54Speaker 5: We pin you, we're not going to use you.
- 20:55Speaker 6: Yes, it's in sense of false hope.
- 20:57Speaker 1: They pain you to clear your schedule, so you have
- 21:00Speaker 1: to wipe your entire schedule for the promise of it
- 21:02Speaker 1: getting it, but they still won't give it to you.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Yeah, And usually there's another one. We use Pinned a lot.
- 21:09Speaker 3: But then there's a veil.
- 21:10Speaker 2: A veil pretty much only for commercials.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Truly only for commercials, and those are even wider. Sometimes
- 21:17Speaker 3: I can ask for the whole month jove.
- 21:19Speaker 8: Putting kids on a veil, because then they don't go
- 21:21Speaker 8: to school.
- 21:24Speaker 3: And the amazing like their whole timestables.
- 21:26Speaker 5: Yeah, because they're waiting.
- 21:27Speaker 2: For this homeeople, it's nothing. Can I love it? Can
- 21:32Speaker 2: I ask a question? Have you ever given an audible
- 21:35Speaker 2: no in the room?
- 21:38Speaker 5: Say it?
- 21:39Speaker 6: Do you want to hear my story?
- 21:42Speaker 5: This one?
- 21:43Speaker 7: Sometimes I call her before I'm going to sleep and say,
- 21:45Speaker 7: seeing me to sleep with that story?
- 21:46Speaker 5: Well?
- 21:47Speaker 3: Is this someone where it was recorded on zoom? Or
- 21:49Speaker 3: is that what the other one that you got?
- 21:50Speaker 6: That was the other one?
- 21:51Speaker 9: But this one, that one was a tough story because
- 21:54Speaker 9: I was doing Spyers, working on Spider Man, the new
- 21:56Speaker 9: one with Tom Holland and Sunday who we love.
- 21:58Speaker 2: We love.
- 21:59Speaker 5: They're so tough.
- 22:00Speaker 2: It's so funny team, incredible fun.
- 22:03Speaker 9: When Bella Thorne also came in for the role of
- 22:06Speaker 9: Mary Jane, that was a really tough day for me
- 22:08Speaker 9: because I love my girl, Bella Thorne.
- 22:10Speaker 6: Two Disney girls, you know, and they know each other's
- 22:12Speaker 6: Endea and Bella. They go back.
- 22:13Speaker 9: And so when they came in, Zendaya irresistible of course,
- 22:17Speaker 9: and then Bella Thorne comes in, clamors in and she
- 22:20Speaker 9: you know, has her sunglasses on, but she's ready and
- 22:22Speaker 9: she's locked in. And I had to say no because
- 22:25Speaker 9: I saw the chemistry between Zindia and Tom and I said, well,
- 22:28Speaker 9: who am I going to be to say not?
- 22:29Speaker 6: As you know, So that was a tough note for me.
- 22:31Speaker 6: But we're still really close bell and I and you
- 22:33Speaker 6: you were. We do lying out with a lot of
- 22:36Speaker 6: the A listers.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I try to keep my stude, always see that you're
- 22:39Speaker 1: always having these dinner parties and forcing people to come.
- 22:42Speaker 6: I love no boo, don't you.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I love gosh?
- 22:46Speaker 1: Can we just talk about I just I.
- 22:49Speaker 9: Get everything on the appetizer menu, yes, literally, and I.
- 22:53Speaker 6: Grab some stuff.
- 22:53Speaker 5: Share.
- 22:54Speaker 2: I loves let's share. Let's get some stuff, Let's get
- 22:58Speaker 2: it all.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Say I'm not that hungry you let's just get a couple.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Of things, a couple of rolls.
- 23:02Speaker 5: Yeah, oh nice, split the bill.
- 23:05Speaker 6: No.
- 23:06Speaker 7: Also, you're the one who credits yourself for getting Tommins
- 23:10Speaker 7: and Data together.
- 23:11Speaker 6: Well, yeah, a little bit I did. Yeah.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Well I think you put something in their sushi.
- 23:16Speaker 9: I think there's something here and they're both like no,
- 23:19Speaker 9: you know, but then time kind of.
- 23:21Speaker 4: You know, you sort of have a reputation as being
- 23:23Speaker 4: a sort of matchmaker.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 23:26Speaker 8: I mean, we're our.
- 23:27Speaker 4: Job is kind of match making between the vision of
- 23:29Speaker 4: the director and the actor and the studio.
- 23:33Speaker 2: It's just so much work. It's so much work, of course.
- 23:35Speaker 4: And it's like it's how can we create this big,
- 23:37Speaker 4: happy family where everyone agrees. But you seem to actually
- 23:40Speaker 4: make actors fall in love sometimes, like when you see
- 23:44Speaker 4: like two people who would be a good match, you like,
- 23:46Speaker 4: I've heard you put them in Chemistry Reads together for
- 23:49Speaker 4: fake Project.
- 23:49Speaker 6: I do.
- 23:50Speaker 3: I was going to say, it all comes back down
- 23:52Speaker 3: to the Kem Read and Kem Reid queen.
- 23:54Speaker 6: Well that's how we got Daredevil.
- 23:56Speaker 9: No, you're never supposed to happen, And I said, no,
- 23:59Speaker 9: let's get these two in a row.
- 24:00Speaker 5: Boom.
- 24:00Speaker 6: Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck.
- 24:02Speaker 2: That's absolutely and then they got yes.
- 24:05Speaker 6: Well and you know it didn't work. You happened, which
- 24:08Speaker 6: was very good for you. You know, thank god more kids.
- 24:12Speaker 5: Do you credit yourself having more kids? Do you credit
- 24:15Speaker 5: yourself for the divorce when the divorces end up happening?
- 24:17Speaker 9: I do not know, because my job ends when the
- 24:19Speaker 9: casting process ends, So anything that happens after that, I
- 24:22Speaker 9: turn a blind eye.
- 24:23Speaker 3: Tom it's not well. Sometimes I don't even I don't
- 24:25Speaker 3: even foster the project till that far. I I just
- 24:29Speaker 3: make sure the director shows up on the zoom. I
- 24:31Speaker 3: turn off my fucking camera and light a big, big,
- 24:34Speaker 3: big big weed stick and.
- 24:40Speaker 8: Split weed brand.
- 24:45Speaker 2: They've just reinvented it.
- 24:47Speaker 5: They have there.
- 24:48Speaker 3: They're doing a collab with slim Gym and you could
- 24:50Speaker 3: nod some meat while getting stoned as fuck. And I
- 24:53Speaker 3: love doing that. And I just say, and then I go,
- 24:55Speaker 3: the director is gonna pick it. So I just had
- 24:58Speaker 3: to make sure everyone showed up to the zoom.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Another huge question for coming from me. Sorry, I'm just
- 25:02Speaker 1: chock full of questions right now. We'll get to your
- 25:04Speaker 1: audition soon. I'm laughing. That was a joke and I'm laughing.
- 25:08Speaker 1: I've got a question. Does anybody else because I started this,
- 25:11Speaker 1: is anybody else? On TikTok giving actors advice about how
- 25:14Speaker 1: to get booked constantly?
- 25:15Speaker 5: Absolutely, job, isn't it?
- 25:18Speaker 2: Yeah? Come on, it's half of the fun.
- 25:20Speaker 5: It's given landscape.
- 25:22Speaker 7: You know what I'm seeing and and and I always
- 25:25Speaker 7: wait two months. If I'm giving a specific example, I
- 25:27Speaker 7: wait two months, and I say I had an actor
- 25:30Speaker 7: come in yesterday, and that means it happened two months ago,
- 25:32Speaker 7: so the actor doesn't know.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Yes, exactly, Okay, rapid Fire. What advice you guys giving
- 25:37Speaker 1: rapid fire?
- 25:38Speaker 2: What advice? Mine?
- 25:39Speaker 1: Curse words? Don't put the emphasis on curse words. Put
- 25:42Speaker 1: it on the word right after the curse work.
- 25:43Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 25:44Speaker 2: I don't want no shit, Sherlock. I want no shit Srlock.
- 25:47Speaker 2: You know that's what's gonna get you booked on me
- 25:49Speaker 2: on because.
- 25:51Speaker 6: The choice is being made, Yes, the choice.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Is being made.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Yes.
- 25:54Speaker 3: What I like to do is at the bottom of
- 25:55Speaker 3: every breakdown, I put do not submit with buttons, And
- 26:00Speaker 3: if you add a button, I actually watch it.
- 26:03Speaker 2: No, and you book them off the button button. Wow.
- 26:08Speaker 7: Buttons are the little improvised tags that a lot of
- 26:10Speaker 7: people go to the end of their auditions.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Wow, this is so educational and laughing.
- 26:14Speaker 3: But also you brought up TikTok.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yes, what TikTok advice are beginning?
- 26:18Speaker 7: Well, I say use costumes, Use big, big costumes.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Because for me, it draws you in.
- 26:25Speaker 7: Well, I'm casting carnies, right, I'm casting uh flashers. I'm
- 26:30Speaker 7: casting people that are the devil themselves. And I want
- 26:33Speaker 7: to see if you own the costume. You know, I
- 26:35Speaker 7: want to see if you have it. And because if
- 26:37Speaker 7: you own it, that means that you're closer to it.
- 26:39Speaker 7: We're looking for authenticity, especially a lot of these big roles,
- 26:41Speaker 7: they're broad. So if you're wearing the costume, if you're
- 26:45Speaker 7: going in for some sort of creepy evil clown, put
- 26:49Speaker 7: that makeup on.
- 26:49Speaker 5: Do the word.
- 26:50Speaker 3: But that's so funny. I did. I was doing some
- 26:52Speaker 3: co stars for General Hospital and I saw a lot
- 26:54Speaker 3: of people wearing scrubs and it made me icked out.
- 26:57Speaker 8: Oh, it's like adult for you.
- 26:59Speaker 3: I was like being your normal club.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Oh wow, So this is the difference, Like you never
- 27:04Speaker 1: know what you're gonna get.
- 27:04Speaker 8: You never know what you're gonna get when you walk
- 27:06Speaker 8: in there. That's why.
- 27:07Speaker 4: So my number one advice to actors is you never
- 27:09Speaker 4: know what you get, so just do it literally. Just also,
- 27:14Speaker 4: but also my advice that I always give on TikTok.
- 27:17Speaker 8: Is up up up, up, end up and up, send the.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Line up up, up, up and up so like and
- 27:28Speaker 4: sometimes you know, it's just the kids being kids, their family,
- 27:31Speaker 4: bloggers like whatever it is.
- 27:32Speaker 8: But you know, I try and help. I feel like
- 27:34Speaker 8: it's our duty and I think this is amazing.
- 27:37Speaker 5: It's crazy.
- 27:38Speaker 8: We are just helping.
- 27:39Speaker 7: Yeah, that sound you did on that TikTok up up,
- 27:41Speaker 7: up up, that was viral on baby TikTok.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it makes babies cry. It makes babies cry.
- 27:48Speaker 8: How these were me and they were amazing. God, Yeah,
- 27:52Speaker 8: I couldn't walk past a nursery for a week.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Well that's what I always say on my TikTok. Like
- 27:57Speaker 1: there's literally there's no tricks to this. Everybody's different, but
- 28:01Speaker 1: there is an answer, a right answer that will get
- 28:03Speaker 1: you cast every time.
- 28:04Speaker 2: But we're not telling you. We're not going to tell you.
- 28:07Speaker 8: Director is a secret key.
- 28:10Speaker 2: It's all the same.
- 28:12Speaker 9: Yes, yes, that's why, and mine I change it every
- 28:15Speaker 9: fucking day. Have you heard to flourish off of that
- 28:20Speaker 9: is that I want as many takes as possible. I
- 28:23Speaker 9: want thirty takes. No, I'm not going to watch all
- 28:26Speaker 9: of them, but I want somewhere in there to be
- 28:28Speaker 9: the right choice. And I will select a random which
- 28:30Speaker 9: clip I watch, maybe I watched and want I don't
- 28:33Speaker 9: watch all thirty no clip.
- 28:35Speaker 2: You click through them, right, you just kind of go no.
- 28:37Speaker 7: No method if your eye matches the exact one that
- 28:42Speaker 7: works for you, and that's divine timing rightly, and that's beautiful,
- 28:45Speaker 7: and so much of what we do is divine.
- 28:48Speaker 5: I think we all agree with that.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I agree.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Most of my tapes playing while my laptop is muted
- 28:54Speaker 3: and I you're just looking if and you're in the court.
- 28:57Speaker 2: And you're just clicking through.
- 28:58Speaker 3: I usually have the traders pulled up and I'm watching
- 29:01Speaker 3: it on Peacock on Safari, and I have actors access
- 29:05Speaker 3: up on Chrome and if I if you pull focus
- 29:09Speaker 3: for oundcommings, then I'll turn the volume off.
- 29:13Speaker 6: So incredible, man, that's an amazing CREDI.
- 29:15Speaker 5: So you're not you're not even listening.
- 29:17Speaker 3: To the same Day tanks.
- 29:20Speaker 5: You're not listening to.
- 29:21Speaker 2: All Cummings either, because it's all muted watching, you're just
- 29:25Speaker 2: watching his energy.
- 29:26Speaker 3: I'm reading the subtitles.
- 29:29Speaker 9: Well, that's what I do with Nick and Vanessa Lasha
- 29:31Speaker 9: anytime they're on, I say they.
- 29:34Speaker 6: Have it because we all know they.
- 29:35Speaker 1: And you set them up, didn't you? You're so bad.
- 29:38Speaker 2: I'm laughing.
- 29:39Speaker 6: No way, go did I did?
- 29:41Speaker 8: Project? Did you send them?
- 29:42Speaker 9: Well that it was supposed to be a survivor reboot,
- 29:47Speaker 9: reboot called Don't Survive whoa.
- 29:50Speaker 6: And it was whoever? You know, But it's.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Crazy they were booting something that, yeah, reboot opposite.
- 29:56Speaker 5: That whole thing.
- 29:57Speaker 7: That whole thing sounds kind of misbegotten for start right,
- 30:01Speaker 7: It's a reboot of a show that's already harm that
- 30:02Speaker 7: is successful.
- 30:04Speaker 5: And it's starting actors, and to be the opposite to.
- 30:08Speaker 6: Exactly not survive people, people were not down for that.
- 30:11Speaker 2: I just don't get it.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Yeah, well, here's the thing. You said, the naughty word, honestly,
- 30:15Speaker 3: a naughtyer word, TikTok advice. And here's the bigger naughty, naughty,
- 30:19Speaker 3: naughty word. I'm scared to even bring this up. Are
- 30:21Speaker 3: you guys charging two to three hundred dollars for a workshop?
- 30:24Speaker 2: Oh?
- 30:28Speaker 5: Okay, okay, yes, the most dramatic c W.
- 30:32Speaker 7: And then in Hollywood and I'm talking the network, I'm
- 30:34Speaker 7: talking about casting workshops.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Oh you're bad. I'm laughing.
- 30:37Speaker 5: It's a naughty c W.
- 30:39Speaker 3: And i'd say, raise your hand. If you pay your
- 30:42Speaker 3: mortgage with casting workshops.
- 30:44Speaker 5: Everyone in that room is raising guilty.
- 30:47Speaker 8: I must say. I don't want to do them right.
- 30:50Speaker 8: But all of these stage parents are literally banging down
- 30:54Speaker 8: my door.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Demand to find the answer like there is and again
- 30:59Speaker 1: there's no answer, but there is one, and we won't
- 31:02Speaker 1: tell you. We're not going to tell especially not a
- 31:04Speaker 1: casting workshop, and we.
- 31:06Speaker 8: Won't tell you.
- 31:09Speaker 6: Yes, it does.
- 31:10Speaker 7: And if you put you know, Just to be clear
- 31:13Speaker 7: for the layman, a casting workshop is where you might
- 31:16Speaker 7: come with a required piece, some sort of monologue or
- 31:19Speaker 7: some sort of performance, and then you perform for people
- 31:22Speaker 7: who are casting directors, paid it a lot of money
- 31:24Speaker 7: to be a part of them, and then they give
- 31:26Speaker 7: you some notes at the end and they walk away. Yeah,
- 31:29Speaker 7: there is a sometimes imaginary draw that maybe they'll think
- 31:35Speaker 7: of you and cast you in future things.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Well, that's a good question. Have any of us cast
- 31:39Speaker 2: somebody off of that?
- 31:39Speaker 9: Absolutely not no, I did not, no, no, no, Please go.
- 31:43Speaker 6: Ahead well, I was going to say.
- 31:44Speaker 9: When I was working on Royal Pains, I ended up
- 31:47Speaker 9: I did a casting director workshop with backstage, and I
- 31:49Speaker 9: did bring in a girl who was very green, but
- 31:52Speaker 9: I said, why not, she has one line, and I
- 31:54Speaker 9: brought her in and I did not cast her because
- 31:55Speaker 9: she was, you know, horrible, But I gave her the opportunity.
- 31:58Speaker 2: That's right, and that's what's important.
- 32:02Speaker 1: And she paid you, and you paid her back and
- 32:04Speaker 1: the transaction is over.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Yes, because that will get you. Here's an a secret.
- 32:10Speaker 3: When you bring someone in from a workshop, it gets
- 32:12Speaker 3: people buying.
- 32:13Speaker 1: More workshops because they go, I got I actually got
- 32:16Speaker 1: an aundation.
- 32:16Speaker 6: That's it.
- 32:17Speaker 8: So you got to do one.
- 32:18Speaker 3: But you brought someone in from a workshop.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Well I so it's a little bit of a loophole.
- 32:23Speaker 4: So one of the stage moms who brought their child
- 32:27Speaker 4: in for a workshop was pregnant at the time, and
- 32:30Speaker 4: I had one of those moments where I start, I
- 32:33Speaker 4: stared at her belly and I went, I know, and
- 32:35Speaker 4: that child. Two years later I put in a commercial.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Two years later, the child was like a year and
- 32:42Speaker 3: a half old.
- 32:43Speaker 8: The child was a year and a half old.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Yeah, the child came out and it was fantastic at acting,
- 32:48Speaker 4: and I just knew right away.
- 32:49Speaker 8: I just had one of those moments.
- 32:50Speaker 2: That you've got an ability that's in the same I.
- 32:54Speaker 4: Feel like we're not that different from psychics, like we
- 32:57Speaker 4: would say, we're very similar.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Yes, and again, huge elephant in the room. We actually
- 33:01Speaker 1: don't even have that much power at the end of
- 33:03Speaker 1: the day.
- 33:04Speaker 3: We don't get sure everyone's on the call.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Literally, we're just making sure everyone's on the call. We
- 33:10Speaker 1: get our selects, we'll put those in front of producers,
- 33:14Speaker 1: in front of them, We'll do what we can.
- 33:15Speaker 7: Should we talk about maybe, uh, casting's choice versus director's choice, and.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Versus studio's choice, versus showrunners choice, versus for make us
- 33:29Speaker 1: choice versus America's choice.
- 33:31Speaker 2: I mean, there's so many choices.
- 33:33Speaker 1: At the end of the day, it's okay, And if
- 33:36Speaker 1: you don't get all of them, you don't get cast
- 33:39Speaker 1: favorite choice, you don't get all of them, you don't
- 33:42Speaker 1: go with the safest one.
- 33:43Speaker 5: But you know what I love.
- 33:44Speaker 3: I love when you get to tell him you were
- 33:46Speaker 3: one of the choices.
- 33:46Speaker 1: You gotta say, I got so close, but I just
- 33:50Speaker 1: could have went over this one producer. It was in.
- 33:53Speaker 3: Marketing can I tell you one of my favorites is
- 34:00Speaker 3: when get ready for this? And I tell you this
- 34:04Speaker 3: happens all the time. I have a choice. Director is
- 34:06Speaker 3: the same choice creative.
- 34:09Speaker 2: A showrunner who's kind of like creator creator.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Yes, barely barely watches everything. It's her choice too. One
- 34:17Speaker 3: of the studio reps, Nieces is a new choice. And
- 34:23Speaker 3: suddenly we get an intimidating email and it says, your
- 34:28Speaker 3: choice is not the part.
- 34:31Speaker 5: Let me tell you something for real. Casting has never
- 34:34Speaker 5: involved in no You've never picked we don't do.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Yes, I'll say we aren't involved in NEO yet we
- 34:42Speaker 3: have a front row seat.
- 34:43Speaker 8: To arrived at our doorstep. We must receive it.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Yes, yes, and like fireman with a baby like.
- 34:56Speaker 7: Step, like somebody from Water and Power who need to
- 35:00Speaker 7: check a line in your backyard?
- 35:06Speaker 3: If so, cow Gas needs a twelve hour window to
- 35:09Speaker 3: come in to fix that wall heater, You give them
- 35:12Speaker 3: all twelve.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Because you have to, because you.
- 35:16Speaker 6: Have to have to have a choice.
- 35:18Speaker 7: What is a choice that you guys made that that
- 35:21Speaker 7: maybe we all know, you know with another direction, what's
- 35:24Speaker 7: the one that got away for you?
- 35:25Speaker 5: The casting choice?
- 35:27Speaker 3: Wilson five hundred days, what a loss? Have been outstand
- 35:35Speaker 3: and a couple of associates in my office, a couple
- 35:37Speaker 3: of young blonde girls that she was our choice.
- 35:40Speaker 6: Like mourning.
- 35:41Speaker 2: That so sad. It is something to mourn, that's so sad.
- 35:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you ripped apart when we were doing we were
- 35:52Speaker 3: doing Phantom of the Opera.
- 35:54Speaker 6: There were a lot of people coming in for Phantom.
- 35:57Speaker 9: We were overwhelmed, and somebody who I was really fighting
- 35:59Speaker 9: for was Jimmy Buffet.
- 36:00Speaker 5: And yeah, would have been incredible.
- 36:03Speaker 6: I was going to get my way on that.
- 36:05Speaker 2: How much did he push? How much did he push?
- 36:07Speaker 6: How mu should I push her?
- 36:09Speaker 2: Both?
- 36:10Speaker 6: He pushed me to the to the edge.
- 36:13Speaker 9: And because he has this persona. I'm a nice guy,
- 36:17Speaker 9: you know, but when you get behind a closed door
- 36:20Speaker 9: for casting, yeah, of course the tables turned.
- 36:22Speaker 5: And everybody loves me.
- 36:23Speaker 7: I mean, I've seen some of those tapes and he
- 36:25Speaker 7: goes listen to the music of the night sounds like Jeezburger.
- 36:30Speaker 6: I loved that choice.
- 36:32Speaker 9: Talk about a choice, but the studio didn't go for it.
- 36:35Speaker 6: But can I say.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Something absolutely and I feel like everyone in the room
- 36:38Speaker 3: here might exactly take the words out of my mouth.
- 36:42Speaker 3: At least he got in front of them.
- 36:43Speaker 5: Yes, he got in front of that.
- 36:46Speaker 3: At least he was seen by.
- 36:48Speaker 2: And you took the words right out of her mouth.
- 36:55Speaker 3: At least he got what happened exactly. And I told him.
- 36:59Speaker 6: I was like, one you start something new.
- 37:00Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, literally, why don't you go do something?
- 37:03Speaker 6: And thus Margarita alsborn and this will be all of
- 37:07Speaker 6: those creators.
- 37:08Speaker 1: And this is what we always know. Once you get
- 37:10Speaker 1: in front of them, they'll never cast you again.
- 37:12Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 37:12Speaker 1: That's the moment they saw you in that one room,
- 37:14Speaker 1: and they won't see you anywhere else.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Now you're not emerging talent, the one that got away
- 37:17Speaker 3: from me.
- 37:18Speaker 7: And I think about this every single day of my life.
- 37:20Speaker 7: Charles Barkley is the fish man in shape of Water.
- 37:25Speaker 3: But he got in front of them.
- 37:29Speaker 2: How is his read? Do you have a tape of that?
- 37:32Speaker 5: I don't dark. I don't think it's in the drive.
- 37:37Speaker 8: You have your phone.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Maybe we transferred over when the wet transfer expired.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Do the manager center the agent center? Do they both?
- 37:44Speaker 5: Double was sent as a drop box, but I didn't
- 37:46Speaker 5: have access.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Oh, because you don't have dropbox.
- 37:49Speaker 6: Yeah, mail drop box.
- 37:50Speaker 5: I hate drop I hate drop box. To me, send
- 37:52Speaker 5: me the file.
- 37:53Speaker 7: Send me the four gig file via email and wait
- 37:56Speaker 7: for it to.
- 37:56Speaker 8: Save the pile.
- 37:57Speaker 4: And no, I don't want a Google leg Yes, if
- 38:00Speaker 4: it takes me to open and Google Drive, I'm not
- 38:03Speaker 4: watching now.
- 38:03Speaker 6: I don't want to.
- 38:04Speaker 3: If you send me a Google Drive you are poor
- 38:07Speaker 3: and ugly.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Well yeah, yeah, well yeah, yeah, that's sorry.
- 38:12Speaker 6: I'm just laying it all off.
- 38:13Speaker 8: That's just exactly how I know.
- 38:15Speaker 6: It's the only way.
- 38:16Speaker 9: But figure it out, you know, literally, figure it out,
- 38:19Speaker 9: figure it out way.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Why is it our problem?
- 38:21Speaker 8: Unlisted YouTube link? I don't want that. If you send
- 38:23Speaker 8: me a link, I'm not clicking.
- 38:25Speaker 1: How is it our problem that there's no actual way
- 38:27Speaker 1: to send a file that we demand. It was twelve
- 38:29Speaker 1: pages and four gigs long to send via email. There's
- 38:32Speaker 1: just no way to do that. That's not our fault.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Get it to us.
- 38:35Speaker 5: Talk to your internet service provider.
- 38:37Speaker 4: Literally, you can actually to take initiative and invent an app.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Literally, yeah, just invent an appay for it and pay
- 38:45Speaker 1: for it literally, yeah, pay for its.
- 38:51Speaker 6: Work for it.
- 38:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Literally, there's people in this town hoping right off the bus.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yes, want this, So why don't you pay ten dollars
- 38:59Speaker 1: for every headshot you want to upload, also pay for.
- 39:02Speaker 6: Each headshot and take it either on each of.
- 39:04Speaker 3: The competitors Casting Frontier.
- 39:06Speaker 1: They're great people because we're not going to use all
- 39:08Speaker 1: the same one a different one every child.
- 39:12Speaker 8: Do you get different things?
- 39:13Speaker 5: Every single day?
- 39:15Speaker 7: Four hundred and nineteen year olds walk off a Greyhound
- 39:18Speaker 7: from Boise with two terabytes of storage in their Google gars.
- 39:22Speaker 5: Okay, if you don't want this.
- 39:23Speaker 4: We're fighting that, yes, exactly, fighting that side.
- 39:28Speaker 8: If you want this or not, let me tell you.
- 39:30Speaker 3: I was at the movie theaters the other day, Vintage,
- 39:33Speaker 3: and I went up to the Coca Cola freestyle machine
- 39:35Speaker 3: and I got a Cherry Coke vanilla mountain dew fuck thing,
- 39:38Speaker 3: and I went, now, how can we invent something that
- 39:42Speaker 3: makes all these sodas one? And we can't give actors
- 39:45Speaker 3: enough data?
- 39:49Speaker 2: We can you get through? You had this at the
- 39:53Speaker 2: Coca Cola freestyle machine.
- 39:55Speaker 6: You know one really pisses me off. Sorry to swear,
- 39:57Speaker 6: Oh my god, bad.
- 39:59Speaker 9: I'm the I'm going through an actor's profile on Actors Access,
- 40:03Speaker 9: which is a casting website for those who are wondering,
- 40:05Speaker 9: and I see the same footage over and over again.
- 40:08Speaker 9: I know it's twenty two dollars a minute to upload,
- 40:10Speaker 9: but switch it up. I don't want to see the
- 40:12Speaker 9: same clip.
- 40:12Speaker 2: I want to see a new reel every week.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Me too. Oh can I tell you this. I don't
- 40:16Speaker 3: like the reels anymore because I know they're paying two
- 40:18Speaker 3: hundred dollars for more than two minutes. I want the
- 40:20Speaker 3: reels cut up into clips.
- 40:22Speaker 8: Yes, so interesting. I actually changed my opinion on this
- 40:25Speaker 8: every other week.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Yes, so they should just pay for all of it.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Yes, so we should.
- 40:30Speaker 8: Be clips and.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Full reel.
- 40:32Speaker 8: But if you send me both, I'm.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Pisso see, I'm like, throw it all away. I want
- 40:37Speaker 1: I don't even care. I want you to shoot in
- 40:38Speaker 1: the woods. I want you to shoot bad lighting. I
- 40:40Speaker 1: want to be freaked out. I want you to make
- 40:43Speaker 1: this a short film. Are you listening, actors? Are you listening?
- 40:46Speaker 1: Your audition should be shot like a short film. Throw
- 40:48Speaker 1: it all away. Different angles make.
- 40:50Speaker 5: Me throw up.
- 40:51Speaker 7: And I think, what's so interesting about this is if
- 40:54Speaker 7: you watch this, and this is huge for actors that
- 40:56Speaker 7: have Yeah, we all have vastly different preferences and vastly
- 41:00Speaker 7: different choices we want you to make, and they're even conflicting,
- 41:04Speaker 7: and we're going to do nothing about.
- 41:06Speaker 6: That, and that's we're gonna be a little angry about it.
- 41:09Speaker 8: We're going to be a little timmy.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:13Speaker 9: And in that email when I when I send those
- 41:15Speaker 9: emails out and I give explicit direction, that is drum.
- 41:18Speaker 6: You know what I mean.
- 41:19Speaker 9: If not every single step is followed to a t,
- 41:23Speaker 9: I'm out.
- 41:23Speaker 2: You're literally God, I.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Love you for that. Out the order, let's go around
- 41:28Speaker 3: and just say the order you prefer the slate in
- 41:31Speaker 3: because I always I'll say this, I like name local
- 41:36Speaker 3: higher or not. And I don't need height wow wow,
- 41:41Speaker 3: because you're on mute.
- 41:42Speaker 8: I want name height school.
- 41:47Speaker 4: And then because this is kids, so I ask questions,
- 41:50Speaker 4: need to know where to find you find.
- 41:54Speaker 5: I don't want to you have to ask. You have
- 41:56Speaker 5: to ask a personality question like school.
- 42:00Speaker 8: Just get me like a sort of are you you know?
- 42:02Speaker 8: Are you opacity to elementary? Like what what's your vibe?
- 42:06Speaker 8: What's your vibe?
- 42:06Speaker 6: I gotta know?
- 42:07Speaker 4: And then I want seven full body like and I
- 42:12Speaker 4: want them different.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Eight would be creepy. Seven is fineven is fine, but
- 42:17Speaker 2: and it's not.
- 42:18Speaker 6: You know, this is just my job. I just have
- 42:20Speaker 6: to know I'm not doing your job well kids is
- 42:24Speaker 6: the It's not my job exactly.
- 42:26Speaker 5: I want height. I need hands usually for my thing.
- 42:29Speaker 5: I need to see how weird those hands are. Yeah,
- 42:32Speaker 5: I need to know if.
- 42:33Speaker 7: You're willing to shave or willing to not shave. That's
- 42:36Speaker 7: really important to me. I need to know if you
- 42:38Speaker 7: have scoliosis. And I want it all to be in
- 42:41Speaker 7: a full body shot.
- 42:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:42Speaker 5: If I see your face too close, I I'll let
- 42:45Speaker 5: you know if I need it. But I don't need that.
- 42:47Speaker 5: I need I need the body.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Oh I love full body separate clip yeah, yes, no,
- 42:50Speaker 3: I don't want I want a separate clip.
- 42:52Speaker 9: I want the full body for about thirty seconds. I
- 42:54Speaker 9: want you to let it linger because I want to
- 42:56Speaker 9: also take a little spin. I want to see what
- 42:57Speaker 9: you look like from all angles.
- 42:58Speaker 5: Do you like when they say something fun?
- 43:00Speaker 6: I don't want any words in the full body.
- 43:02Speaker 9: Maybe a couple of wings, maybe a couple of little
- 43:04Speaker 9: dance moves if you have it, and I'm.
- 43:06Speaker 8: Also don't bore me, but I get bored during the
- 43:09Speaker 8: full body shot.
- 43:10Speaker 5: Don't want.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Right, I want to pull out.
- 43:18Speaker 9: So I want the full body without a cut into
- 43:20Speaker 9: a horizontal with your name, your location, and give me
- 43:25Speaker 9: a horoscope, give me some fun fact, but I don't
- 43:28Speaker 9: want to cut quickly, and remember, don't keep me away.
- 43:32Speaker 7: This is important to know. Five syllables equals one second.
- 43:35Speaker 7: So if you think one one thousand two, you know
- 43:40Speaker 7: five syllables clothes, So think about that when you're speaking.
- 43:44Speaker 5: Five syllables is one second.
- 43:46Speaker 1: And if I see a slate, I throw out the
- 43:48Speaker 1: whole tape. I fucking hate you give me a slate,
- 43:53Speaker 1: I throw it away. And I just for the actors
- 43:55Speaker 1: out here, A lot of these teachers I'm hearing saying
- 43:58Speaker 1: the slate is just for filing.
- 44:00Speaker 2: It's not important. It's literally the most important thing you
- 44:03Speaker 2: can do in your whole audition.
- 44:03Speaker 1: It's the first moment we see you, and we will
- 44:05Speaker 1: judge you immediately based on your slate, and you state
- 44:08Speaker 1: I don't want to see them anywhere. And if I
- 44:10Speaker 1: see a slate, I'm already pissed off because I feel
- 44:12Speaker 1: like I'm getting your personality, not the character that you're
- 44:15Speaker 1: trying to bring to life.
- 44:17Speaker 3: What's so funny is we all just said our opinions.
- 44:19Speaker 3: They're all so different, and our opinions are going to change.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Exactly, They're going to change so strong and again just
- 44:25Speaker 1: a reminder, there is one answer to get cast every
- 44:28Speaker 1: time in the dream roles that you want, but we
- 44:30Speaker 1: won't tell you.
- 44:31Speaker 6: It's a secret word.
- 44:32Speaker 8: If you can guess the secret word.
- 44:35Speaker 6: And we said it here today.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Well, I just have a fun little thing before we go.
- 44:39Speaker 8: We said it somewhere today.
- 44:41Speaker 5: I can't believe you said it, but you did. You
- 44:44Speaker 5: said it.
- 44:45Speaker 2: So I've just got a fun thing before we go.
- 44:47Speaker 1: I just I brought some sides and I was wondering
- 44:48Speaker 1: if we could have like maybe a live session just
