- 0:14Speaker 1: shares life lessons and tips to help make you rich
- 0:17Speaker 1: in life. And welcome back to another fabulous episode of
- 0:21Speaker 1: Two broad Chicks for Ourselves.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I mean, can't love yourself? How the
- 0:28Speaker 2: hell you're gonna love anybody else? Can get an amen
- 0:30Speaker 2: up in here.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Amen. But today we have a new little series, new
- 0:36Speaker 1: little format that we're going to be doing in twenty
- 0:39Speaker 1: twenty six, and it's monthly Favorites.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yep.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I love watching monthly favorites from other people on youtubek.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Sam, I love a good like all gimildes.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Gimme a list, what I would buy, what I wouldn't.
- 0:56Speaker 1: What I liked, books, shows, life lessons, all of that stuff.
- 1:01Speaker 1: So we're going to go into hacks, We're going to
- 1:03Speaker 1: go into products, we're going to go into life lessons.
- 1:06Speaker 1: All that stuff. Is going to be a monthly favorites,
- 1:08Speaker 1: just things that we liked.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Yeah, just our favorite, our favorites from the month.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Oh my god, we should call a monthly favorite, yeah,
- 1:15Speaker 1: says what it is on the tin before we get
- 1:17Speaker 1: into the episode, though, Life Lesson of the Week, Yeah,
- 1:20Speaker 1: tell me about your week. What did you learn?
- 1:23Speaker 3: How was it?
- 1:24Speaker 2: It was a big week. It was a bit of
- 1:26Speaker 2: an intense week. But I think my life lesson of
- 1:30Speaker 2: the week is it's an oldie, but a goodie, but
- 1:33Speaker 2: to make time for the people that you love, because
- 1:35Speaker 2: life can get so busy and there's always something that
- 1:38Speaker 2: you have to do, you know, there's always like a
- 1:40Speaker 2: work commitment or something happening on the weekend, or travel
- 1:43Speaker 2: plans or whatever. But just a reminder to slow down
- 1:46Speaker 2: and make time for the people that you love. You
- 1:49Speaker 2: shared this, I think was it in the Life Lessons episode.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Oh no, it was in like our goal setting episode.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah, year and when you were talking about like when
- 1:56Speaker 2: people look back on their lives, the things that they
- 1:58Speaker 2: wish that they invested more in is their relationships. So
- 2:01Speaker 2: I think, yeah, it was just a reminder of that
- 2:03Speaker 2: again for me this week. Yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think we can fall into the trap.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I've been like I can't do that because I have
- 2:12Speaker 1: to do this, and it's like do you do you
- 2:15Speaker 1: have to do that or is that like a thing
- 2:17Speaker 1: that you're setting on yourself, like a pressure that you're
- 2:19Speaker 1: setting on yourself because half the things that we think
- 2:22Speaker 1: are unmovable and set in stone aren't really.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Yeah, just like reshift and refocus the.
- 2:29Speaker 1: PA like it's life happens from you, not to you. Yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 1: vibes being like figure it out.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, And I don't think you'll ever regret being
- 2:40Speaker 2: there for someone that you love.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Yeah, agreed.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Yeah, what about you? What's your life lesson?
- 2:45Speaker 1: My life lesson of the week is to do the
- 2:49Speaker 1: holiday activities in like every day, right, So this week
- 2:55Speaker 1: on Wednesday, it was like a really sunny day.
- 2:58Speaker 3: I was like, oh, you're.
- 3:00Speaker 1: It a full day, and so I like texting my
- 3:02Speaker 1: partner and I was like, Oh, did you want to
- 3:04Speaker 1: go out for dinner tonight? Because in our budget my
- 3:07Speaker 1: favorite thing ever, we have like a date night in
- 3:11Speaker 1: the budget where we both put like sixty dollars each
- 3:13Speaker 1: in a week and that's for like a date night
- 3:16Speaker 1: or takeaway or whatever. And so anyway, we just went
- 3:19Speaker 1: to like the RSL that looks over the water and
- 3:22Speaker 1: watched the sunset and like set up my phone to
- 3:26Speaker 1: put on Love Island Amazing and just sat on like
- 3:29Speaker 1: the balcony of the RSL with the sun setting, watching
- 3:32Speaker 1: Love Island, drinking wine and having a beer. And I
- 3:34Speaker 1: had that vishtacos and chin palmi and I literally like,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I feel like I'm on holidays. This is a very
- 3:40Speaker 1: holiday giving activity of like got dressed up, put on
- 3:43Speaker 1: a cute little white linen, set off, she goes.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Bob's your uncle.
- 3:46Speaker 1: And it was a Wednesday. But I literally I was
- 3:48Speaker 1: like I felt like a tourist. Like I was like,
- 3:50Speaker 1: this is something that I would do if I was
- 3:52Speaker 1: on holidays. Yeah, And I had the best time, and
- 3:55Speaker 1: it was very much like more of that.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely more of that throughout the whole year, I think,
- 4:00Speaker 2: especially in January, because a lot of us go into
- 4:03Speaker 2: a little bit of a hibernation in January, I think
- 4:05Speaker 2: after Sily season, yeah, the will of Christmas and everything. Yeah,
- 4:10Speaker 2: but I do think as well, it can then become
- 4:14Speaker 2: a bit of a slump or just by comparison, you're like, oh,
- 4:17Speaker 2: like January just feels like it goes really long.
- 4:21Speaker 1: It felt like it went really quickly. Yeah, remember last January,
- 4:24Speaker 1: January twenty twenty five, it was all the memes of
- 4:27Speaker 1: like Happy seventy third day of January and this year,
- 4:31Speaker 1: I'm like, whoa, yeah, yeah, I feel like every Monthly
- 4:34Speaker 1: Favorites episode we're going to do it. Be like, how
- 4:37Speaker 1: is it monthly Favorites again?
- 4:38Speaker 2: I know, so cle, we are just two dads, but
- 4:43Speaker 2: we ran to two broke dads.
- 4:45Speaker 1: That's us, two broke daddies.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Hey daddy gang, Oh, trademark, Hey fathers Oh, hey, Grandfather's puppies.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Founding Daddy's y.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Okay, shall we get into our monthly favorites.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Let's do it all right?
- 5:04Speaker 1: Tell me, so, what is your favorite thing em this month?
- 5:10Speaker 2: Okay, I think you'll be pleased to hear this, but
- 5:15Speaker 2: one of my favorite things that I've enjoyed this month
- 5:17Speaker 2: is my new candle warmer And just.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Spit pulling here, just just asking for a friend, who
- 5:25Speaker 1: did how did you get that? Did someone by for you?
- 5:29Speaker 1: Were they were they pretty or like like funny or
- 5:32Speaker 1: like pretty funny looking or.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Alex gave me a candle warmer for Christmas? And I
- 5:38Speaker 2: fucking love it. So I'd never really seen these, I
- 5:43Speaker 2: think maybe not until before last year. Really yeah, like
- 5:47Speaker 2: I didn't really know that they were a thing. Oh
- 5:49Speaker 2: my god, And I am a slut.
- 5:51Speaker 3: For a candle.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I've never really heard of a candle warmer, but if
- 5:54Speaker 2: you're not familiar with them, they're essentially a lamp and
- 5:57Speaker 2: you put your candle underneath it and then it warms
- 6:00Speaker 2: your candle and you can still get the scent from
- 6:02Speaker 2: the candle. But it has like a bunch of different benefits.
- 6:06Speaker 2: One that you're not using an open flame, so for
- 6:08Speaker 2: safety reasons you've got like pets or kids or even
- 6:11Speaker 2: just you know, sometimes it's a bit anxiety inducing if
- 6:13Speaker 2: you've got like a candle burning in another room. But
- 6:16Speaker 2: also the heat from the light burns the candle evenly
- 6:20Speaker 2: across the top, so you don't get that like sunken
- 6:22Speaker 2: hole that then yeah.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I didn't even think about that. Yeah, which that pisces
- 6:27Speaker 1: me off.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, one, it looks ugly and it's annoying, but
- 6:31Speaker 2: also then you get a lot of wax wasted.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Ye, you're not burning any.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Of the outside, but also it looks like a lamp,
- 6:38Speaker 2: so it gives like.
- 6:39Speaker 1: A nice beautiful wall attic. It also makes your candles
- 6:43Speaker 1: last longer.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Yeah, such you're not wasting all that wax because once
- 6:46Speaker 2: you're done, then it just hardens again.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think I ever realized how much like
- 6:53Speaker 1: a candle puts like soot and like shit on your walls.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I remember when I was younger, and again I was
- 7:01Speaker 1: born a slot for a candle, you know. And then
- 7:04Speaker 1: my dad and I were like painting my room because
- 7:06Speaker 1: my room was like blue from when I was ye child. Yeah,
- 7:10Speaker 1: and we had to sugar soap the walls because you've
- 7:13Speaker 1: got to wash them to paint them. And my dad
- 7:16Speaker 1: was like, what the fuck have you.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Been doing in here, Sally?
- 7:22Speaker 1: The amount of disgusting dirt that was like, and I
- 7:26Speaker 1: let that cut be good for my lungs.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:28Speaker 1: The other thing that's good about them is because if
- 7:30Speaker 1: you have this is very niche. But if you have animals,
- 7:33Speaker 1: like if you have pets, like if you have a
- 7:35Speaker 1: dog or if you have a cat, it's actually not
- 7:37Speaker 1: very good to burn candles around them because they have
- 7:39Speaker 1: such tiny little lungs. No, no, that like them inhaling
- 7:43Speaker 1: the smoke isn't good for them. Okay, So yeah, we've
- 7:46Speaker 1: actually we've had to stop like lighting candles because our
- 7:49Speaker 1: fucking cat got pneumonia.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Oh my god, I no insanse the same thing.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that which is really sad because you know how
- 7:56Speaker 2: I feel that in the one that AL got me,
- 7:58Speaker 2: the shade is like a glass flowery.
- 8:00Speaker 3: It's so beautiful.
- 8:01Speaker 1: It's really pretty.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Yeah, and there's so many different ones on Amazon.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I kind of didn't want to give it to you
- 8:07Speaker 1: when I got it.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I was that's the sign of a good gift.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I know, I do. I think I am a little
- 8:13Speaker 1: bit guilty of buying things for.
- 8:14Speaker 2: People just because I like them. I don't think that's necessarily.
- 8:17Speaker 1: But you are me and I am you, so like
- 8:19Speaker 1: that's fine. Yeah, but yeah, like getting a prior of
- 8:22Speaker 1: Paradox perfume for Rob for black Man's being like happy babe,
- 8:28Speaker 1: God you can love it smells so quiet.
- 8:30Speaker 3: But yeah, so definitely recommend.
- 8:32Speaker 2: And yeah, I was scrolling on Amazon today just to
- 8:35Speaker 2: see the options that we're out there. Most of them
- 8:37Speaker 2: are priced under fifty bucks. Yeah, yeah, they're pretty affordable.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and I feel like it saves you time and
- 8:43Speaker 1: it saves you money. Yeah, and you get more out
- 8:46Speaker 1: of your products. So yeah, I love that one. Okias,
- 8:49Speaker 1: But you know, wow, what an amazing friend.
- 8:53Speaker 3: That's so nice. Hit me with your monthly favorite mom monthly.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Well, speaking of smelling, good. My monthly favorite is that
- 9:02Speaker 1: I believe I found a dupe for the three hundred
- 9:04Speaker 1: and sixty two dollars l Labo yu Lang perfume. You
- 9:08Speaker 1: know where this is going? I kid you not. This
- 9:13Speaker 1: perfume has been my Roman empire. It's been living in
- 9:16Speaker 1: my brain rem free. Every time I spray it on myself,
- 9:18Speaker 1: someone is like, what is that? Is it?
- 9:20Speaker 2: You?
- 9:20Speaker 1: What is that? Tell me? Now? It's so good. It
- 9:23Speaker 1: is the Body Shop yu Lang y Lang fragrance. You
- 9:28Speaker 1: might have seen it in a video we did last year,
- 9:32Speaker 1: but I've really been using it this month because I
- 9:35Speaker 1: put it in my car and it just sits in
- 9:37Speaker 1: my glove box so everywhere I'm going.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Everywhere.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Yu Lang yu Lang also a great word to say.
- 9:44Speaker 1: It just is fun from the mouth. So it's just
- 9:48Speaker 1: fun from the mouth. So the Body Shop yu Lang
- 9:56Speaker 1: yu Lang perfume. It's seventy nine dollars and you get
- 9:59Speaker 1: almost double of the La Labo product and it is
- 10:05Speaker 1: the most beautiful vanilla spicy white floral scent and it's
- 10:11Speaker 1: infused with ylang ylang essential oil from Madagascar. So it's
- 10:16Speaker 1: just this perfect spicy vanillay but still floral. Because I
- 10:22Speaker 1: like like vanilla sense and I like floral sense, and
- 10:25Speaker 1: it's also a little bit peppery. Yeah, and it's just
- 10:30Speaker 1: don't sell it out because I need it, like we should.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I know, I'm going to stuck up before we post this. Yeah,
- 10:37Speaker 1: but it's also like an odo puffum edp so it's
- 10:41Speaker 1: like a strong scent and it lasts all day. Am
- 10:46Speaker 1: I getting to that point? No, because I give a
- 10:49Speaker 1: little spritzy sprints because it makes me happy. Yeah, but
- 10:52Speaker 1: like it's just so good. It's such a good fragrance.
- 10:56Speaker 1: You also have it as well, Yeah.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and I love it.
- 10:59Speaker 2: It's so because we were doing yeah, like a blind
- 11:03Speaker 2: secrets in our moment, and.
- 11:05Speaker 1: We didn't know what each other was buying each other.
- 11:07Speaker 2: And we both picked this perfume, Like that's how good
- 11:10Speaker 2: it was. Out of all of them, and they did
- 11:12Speaker 2: have like quite a few nice sents there, but that one,
- 11:14Speaker 2: I was like, what the fuck?
- 11:15Speaker 3: This is amazing.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I feel like we're sleeping on the body shop perfumes.
- 11:20Speaker 3: I agree.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I feel like perfumes have gotten a bit of a
- 11:22Speaker 1: lifestyle creep, like the fact that you know, we're seeing
- 11:28Speaker 1: perfumes that are like this is the one to buy.
- 11:30Speaker 1: That's five hundred dollars in this economy, like other expensive
- 11:37Speaker 1: perfumes that I really love absolutely right, Yeah, but this
- 11:40Speaker 1: one I don't feel any guilt about really getting in
- 11:44Speaker 1: there and using it every single day. And it's just
- 11:47Speaker 1: the best fragrance ever. I love it ever. And yeah,
- 11:53Speaker 1: the fact that it's under one hundred dollars ten out
- 11:56Speaker 1: of ten. Yeah, do you know what that is? That's
- 11:59Speaker 1: a monthly fa for It is a monthly favorite your
- 12:05Speaker 1: and I like the bottle as well. It's it comes
- 12:07Speaker 1: in like a really nice glass bottle with like a
- 12:09Speaker 1: brown corkish wooden lid. Yeah, it would look it looks expensive,
- 12:14Speaker 1: it smells expensive, but it's not expensive.
- 12:17Speaker 3: That's what we like to hear.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that one, that's the holy trinity.
- 12:22Speaker 3: I want. Looks expensive, smells expensive.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Not expensive.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Sailed it, okay, hot into it.
- 12:35Speaker 2: My next monthly favorite is the bubble hydrating Milky tone Ar.
- 12:43Speaker 2: This is one of your monthly favorites too.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Ye, put my name on that one too, Yeah,
- 12:48Speaker 1: put my name on that report.
- 12:49Speaker 3: I feel like this is going to be happening every month.
- 12:51Speaker 2: There's going to be like me too. We're the same person.
- 12:54Speaker 2: But it's a twenty eight dollar jube of the Road
- 12:57Speaker 2: Glazing milk and the ingreen.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Are the same as the Road milk, which is incredible.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Yeah, because yes, Road is coming to Australia and coming
- 13:08Speaker 2: to Mecca next.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Month, second of February. Yeah, twelfth, twelfth of February.
- 13:12Speaker 2: So obviously it's been really hard to get your hands
- 13:14Speaker 2: on too, but it will be dropping in Australia next month.
- 13:17Speaker 2: But the Road Glazy Milk is fifty five dollars and
- 13:20Speaker 2: the Bubble jup is twenty eight.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Dollars, literally half the price.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Kind of.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:26Speaker 2: We got our hands on the Bubble jup when it
- 13:27Speaker 2: first launched in Australia a couple of months ago. I
- 13:29Speaker 2: think it was like late September or something. So I
- 13:32Speaker 2: have been using it for a couple of months now,
- 13:34Speaker 2: which is why I haven't recommended it yet.
- 13:37Speaker 3: But I'm almost at the very end and I will
- 13:39Speaker 3: be repurchasing that. Yes.
- 13:41Speaker 1: What I like about it is like it's a bit
- 13:44Speaker 1: of a thicker consistency, like compared to some of the
- 13:47Speaker 1: other like toning milks that I've tried, or like Milky
- 13:51Speaker 1: tonas that I've tried in the past, It's got a
- 13:54Speaker 1: tiny bit of a thicker consistency rather than like a
- 13:57Speaker 1: watery toner, yeah, or like some milktona is like I
- 14:00Speaker 1: find them very runny. It's like a very interesting consistency
- 14:06Speaker 1: that it's just so nice to put on the skin.
- 14:08Speaker 3: It's so refreshing. Yeah, it's beautiful.
- 14:10Speaker 2: It's so soothing and really nice to use in the
- 14:12Speaker 2: morning or in the evening, and it sits.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Really really nicely under makeup.
- 14:16Speaker 2: There's a pill gives you like a beautiful glowy base
- 14:20Speaker 2: and is light enough that you can still work it
- 14:22Speaker 2: in with your routine if you're using a moisturizer and
- 14:25Speaker 2: an SBF of course and then make up.
- 14:28Speaker 3: So yeah, I definitely recommend it.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I love that. And you can get that price line yeah,
- 14:33Speaker 1: which is ten out of ten, which again we love.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Bubble is underrated. I use the moisturizer today. Yeah.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I don't Bubbles really big in America, but in Australia,
- 14:44Speaker 1: I feel like not that many people have gotten to
- 14:47Speaker 1: it yet. Yeah, like y'all need to get to it.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Yeah, get on that. Yeah, and it's really easy to use.
- 14:54Speaker 1: They also have a really good oil cleanser which I like,
- 14:58Speaker 1: and I do they have I think four different cleanses
- 15:01Speaker 1: and they're all really really good, and I like it
- 15:03Speaker 1: because it's very simple skincare. Like that's something that I'm
- 15:06Speaker 1: definitely leaning more into this year. I don't subscribe to
- 15:10Speaker 1: the eighteen step skincare routine, Like it's just no. I
- 15:14Speaker 1: just want a product that does what it says. Yeah,
- 15:16Speaker 1: like cool, this takes off my makeup. Cool this protects
- 15:19Speaker 1: me from the sun. Cool, this moisturize is my skin.
- 15:23Speaker 1: We're good, like gone other days, and I think we're
- 15:26Speaker 1: definitely moving away from this. I think I'm seeing a
- 15:28Speaker 1: lot of content. There's this chick that whose content would
- 15:31Speaker 1: always come up, and I saw a video of hers
- 15:33Speaker 1: recently and she's like, yes, I'm the chick who used
- 15:36Speaker 1: to have an eighteen step skincare routine. Now I have three,
- 15:39Speaker 1: and I would say that my skin looks ten times better.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Wow.
- 15:42Speaker 1: And I do think we just overcomplicate it and it's
- 15:45Speaker 1: not our fault because it gets marketed to us that way.
- 15:49Speaker 1: You know, products are always marketed to solve a problem,
- 15:51Speaker 1: but half the time I feel like the problem's made up. Yeah,
- 15:55Speaker 1: it's like do you have two eyebrows? Oh my god,
- 15:58Speaker 1: you need this, And it's like I have to use yeah.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Literally, that's me.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Yeah, so me yeah yeah, And I'm like, keep it simple, stupid,
- 16:08Speaker 1: kiss me skincare, Kiss skincare. Love that simple stupid. My
- 16:12Speaker 1: next favorite of the month is tell me Lies.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Oh actually, do you know what?
- 16:19Speaker 1: My whole month of January ten out of ten TV shows.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Hit me Hated Rivalry? Yep, need we say more?
- 16:28Speaker 1: Gimme more, give me it, I warn more of it.
- 16:31Speaker 1: We've been like watching all the interviews with the two actors,
- 16:34Speaker 1: and I have the biggest crush on both of them.
- 16:37Speaker 1: They're amazing.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I need Hudson biblically.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Biblically. It's not okay, as we were saying, yeah, hated Rivalry,
- 16:44Speaker 1: turn out of ten fall Out. Been enjoying that season
- 16:48Speaker 1: two is a really cute dog in it. Hopefully nothing
- 16:50Speaker 1: happens other words, I'll stop watching. Yeah, and Love Island
- 16:53Speaker 1: is back, Love Island all Stars been locked in and
- 16:56Speaker 1: most recently, tell me Lies, so it's season three. Hated Rivalry,
- 17:02Speaker 1: made me believe it love again, and tell me that
- 17:04Speaker 1: Lies is here to pull it all back down. I've
- 17:07Speaker 1: never had a show where I just so strongly I
- 17:12Speaker 1: think I disliked every single character like they're crazy, they're mental,
- 17:18Speaker 1: and I love it.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Like any of them like redeeming.
- 17:23Speaker 1: There's like one who he's like really cute, He's like
- 17:26Speaker 1: a sweetheart, like Rigally, I just want him to be
- 17:29Speaker 1: put in like a little bubble wrap and carried away
- 17:31Speaker 1: and just held and like yeah, okay, settle him, settle him.
- 17:36Speaker 1: You know everyone else, I'm like, I feel like a
- 17:40Speaker 1: lot of these things could be avoided if we just
- 17:44Speaker 1: just all stopped communicating. Like I don't even understand why
- 17:46Speaker 1: they're all friends at this point. Yeah, it really I
- 17:49Speaker 1: feel like it is the high school or university experience
- 17:52Speaker 1: where like you stay in a friendship group because of
- 17:54Speaker 1: survival and like a survival of the fittest of like
- 17:58Speaker 1: needing to have like a pack. I'm like, I think you.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Guys would actually do better if you just some space.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Yeah, And then like, oh, do you remember last time
- 18:07Speaker 1: when I was telling you about all the storylines?
- 18:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 18:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and each one if for the chicks who don't
- 18:13Speaker 2: remember or didn't listen to that episode, al essentially rammed
- 18:17Speaker 2: me through a series of storylines and was like pick
- 18:20Speaker 2: which one is fake and which one was actually in
- 18:22Speaker 2: the show.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Each one was.
- 18:24Speaker 2: More ridiculous and insane than the last spoiler, they were
- 18:29Speaker 2: all plots in the show insane. It's so so good, Like,
- 18:34Speaker 2: do you know the measure of a good show is
- 18:37Speaker 2: one that you don't end up picking your phone up
- 18:39Speaker 2: during it, and I don't, like, I'm locked the fuck in?
- 18:43Speaker 3: How long are the episodes about?
- 18:45Speaker 1: Forty minutes?
- 18:45Speaker 3: Okay? Sizable?
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yeah? Good?
- 18:48Speaker 3: But anyway, that's that's my monthly favorite.
- 18:51Speaker 2: And it's only weekly, and I'm just like, I know
- 18:56Speaker 2: part of me wants it all, but it is really nice.
- 18:59Speaker 2: I like the summer I turn pretty like that was
- 19:02Speaker 2: really fun when that was happening.
- 19:03Speaker 1: You know, it was really like universal girlhood experience. Yeah yeah, Okay,
- 19:07Speaker 1: what's your next favorite?
- 19:09Speaker 2: So this is like a work in progress monthly favorite,
- 19:13Speaker 2: and it's a book called Remarkably Bright Creatures.
- 19:16Speaker 3: So it's written by.
- 19:17Speaker 2: An author called Shelby Van Pelt, and it's so far
- 19:23Speaker 2: it's a very heartwarming read.
- 19:26Speaker 3: But I have a feeling that it's going to stay
- 19:30Speaker 3: at some point.
- 19:31Speaker 2: But it's about you're gonna be like, what the fuck
- 19:35Speaker 2: is wrong with you? But the book is set from
- 19:39Speaker 2: two different perspectives. One perspective is an octopus that lives
- 19:44Speaker 2: in an aquarium, and the other one is an old
- 19:48Speaker 2: lady who is a janitor.
- 19:51Speaker 3: At the aquarium and she like cleans the aquarium.
- 19:54Speaker 2: At night, and she has this relationship with this octopus,
- 19:58Speaker 2: like this beautiful friendship with this octavus, And I think
- 20:01Speaker 2: it goes like as I'm reading more and more, it
- 20:03Speaker 2: seems like it goes along.
- 20:05Speaker 1: You're reading, so you read from the pov of an octopus.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Yeah, but the octopuses are incredibly intelligent creatures, so it's
- 20:13Speaker 2: as if you're reading from a human's perspective.
- 20:16Speaker 1: He's here to judge. I read about fucking fairies. Yeah.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Yeah, the octopus is like describing it's you know, it's
- 20:23Speaker 2: life in.
- 20:23Speaker 3: The tank.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Insecurity.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Literally. Yeah, one of my suckers is.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Is bigger than the other me too, exactly.
- 20:33Speaker 3: That's why I picked it up. I was like, finally
- 20:35Speaker 3: a book I can rely.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I've been trying to see, like we need to discuss
- 20:41Speaker 1: the body, octopus scles.
- 20:45Speaker 3: I'm really enjoying this so far.
- 20:47Speaker 2: What's the lady's name? Her name is Tova, and wants
- 20:50Speaker 2: the octopus's name. I think it's Marcello.
- 20:52Speaker 3: It's Marcellus.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a very smart name.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Marcellus the octopus Marcellus. Yeah, most hello.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Yeah that's really just suba but yeah, I'm really enjoying
- 21:04Speaker 2: it so far.
- 21:06Speaker 1: So what do they talk about? Do they? Well, does
- 21:08Speaker 1: he talk?
- 21:09Speaker 3: He like talks to himself, like so it's from his mind.
- 21:12Speaker 1: How do they have a relationship?
- 21:13Speaker 3: Because did you ever watch My Octopus Teacher?
- 21:17Speaker 2: So that was a documentary on Netflix, and I think
- 21:19Speaker 2: I might have recommended years ago, Like this came out
- 21:22Speaker 2: a long long time ago. But because octopuses are really intelligent,
- 21:26Speaker 2: they can kind of have like relationships with humans in
- 21:29Speaker 2: the same ways that.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Like octopus that would predict like that predicts who wins
- 21:34Speaker 1: the super Bowl.
- 21:36Speaker 2: That's But this documentary was about this man and he
- 21:39Speaker 2: was a scuba diver and he would go scuba diving
- 21:42Speaker 2: in this area every day every morning, and he met
- 21:46Speaker 2: this octopus and the octopus would recognize him and would
- 21:51Speaker 2: like come up to him and like put its like
- 21:54Speaker 2: tentacles around its arm and like look forward to seeing
- 21:57Speaker 2: it and would like come out of its octopuses ave
- 22:01Speaker 2: to like interact with him on like a day to
- 22:04Speaker 2: day and it was like it's such a.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Beautiful and sad documentary. I'm not gonna cry thinking about it.
- 22:09Speaker 2: And at one point the octopus is like playing with
- 22:12Speaker 2: the fish like she's like.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Yeah, like it's incredible.
- 22:16Speaker 2: So they're very, very intelligent animals, so I think they
- 22:19Speaker 2: sort of build a rapport without having to actually speak
- 22:23Speaker 2: to each other or under understand each other's languages.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Okay, my final favorite for January, he said, February it's Sephora,
- 22:35Speaker 1: the Rise of Sephora, before is coming back.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Is getting a flower.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Sepora is getting her like clicks, She's getting her flowers,
- 22:44Speaker 1: And I just I'm definitely.
- 22:46Speaker 3: A Sephora girl about fucking time, I reckon.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I think there's been a lot of stuff happening
- 22:52Speaker 1: over the last month, you know, with expired maker coat bags.
- 22:58Speaker 3: And yep, other such things.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Well that's stuff, And I just really think the value
- 23:05Speaker 1: Sephora ads is unmatched in terms of competitors, right. I
- 23:10Speaker 1: also feel like the customer service is on par with
- 23:14Speaker 1: other retailers, Like I feel like there's always a message
- 23:18Speaker 1: of being like one service is better than the other,
- 23:20Speaker 1: but I don't really think there's any difference, Like.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I find both services, yeah right, yeah, the breath
- 23:25Speaker 2: of the customers.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Both experiences are good.
- 23:28Speaker 1: So we also have Hourglass launching into Sephora on the
- 23:32Speaker 1: twenty sixth of February. And the reason why I'm so
- 23:34Speaker 1: excited for that is because I love them and that
- 23:39Speaker 1: Sephora actually do sales. Because the hour Glass Bronzer is
- 23:43Speaker 1: the best bronzer in the entire world. But it's like
- 23:46Speaker 1: one hundred dollars, which is a disgusting amount for a bronzer,
- 23:51Speaker 1: but unfortunately I have a crippling addiction to it. Yeah,
- 23:54Speaker 1: and I sit here and I buy other bronzes and
- 23:56Speaker 1: they don't do the same thing. And so then I'm like,
- 23:59Speaker 1: now I've just spent twenty bucks on three other bronzes.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Now that's sixty bucks. I could have just got the
- 24:05Speaker 1: other one. And now that you know, yeah that it's
- 24:07Speaker 1: like just buy the thing you want if you get
- 24:09Speaker 1: it to start, you know. But we'll now be able
- 24:11Speaker 1: to get it on sales. I'll be able to get
- 24:13Speaker 1: it for twenty percent off during like beauty Pass sales,
- 24:16Speaker 1: which is amazing. But the other thing that I've seen recently,
- 24:20Speaker 1: and I saw a creator talking about this on TikTok,
- 24:22Speaker 1: that I was like, whoh is ae hundred dollars sephorre
- 24:26Speaker 1: a voucher hack and depending on whether where you are
- 24:30Speaker 1: this hack will either get you a free product or
- 24:34Speaker 1: it'll get you one hundred dollars outa. And basically it's
- 24:38Speaker 1: taking in your empty products to Sephora and recycling them.
- 24:42Speaker 1: That's it. So you can take in your empty skincare
- 24:47Speaker 1: makeup products like your empties, and you take it to SUPPORTA,
- 24:51Speaker 1: give it to an employee, and they give you beauty
- 24:53Speaker 1: pass points. Yes, no, yay. So you get a beauty
- 25:01Speaker 1: point for every single empty product packaging that you give them.
- 25:06Speaker 1: So for one to five units recycled, you get fifty points.
- 25:12Speaker 1: For five to ten units recycled you get one hundred points.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Five you could just five products, oh wow, right, and
- 25:20Speaker 1: then for ten plus units recycled you get one hundred
- 25:24Speaker 1: and fifty points.
- 25:26Speaker 3: So may you get around this?
- 25:28Speaker 1: Put that in perspective. They have their Rewards Boutique where
- 25:31Speaker 1: they have a bunch of products that are in exchange
- 25:35Speaker 1: for your points. And they have the Rewards Boutique which
- 25:37Speaker 1: is all products under five hundred points. So there are
- 25:41Speaker 1: products in there that are one hundred points. So by
- 25:44Speaker 1: taking in five empties you can get a free product
- 25:48Speaker 1: out of a range. So in the rewards boutique, they
- 25:51Speaker 1: have good brands as well. It's not like the shitty
- 25:53Speaker 1: things that they can't get rid of or they just
- 25:55Speaker 1: give you the same thing over and over again. They've
- 25:57Speaker 1: got fenty Beauty, Anastasia of Beverly Hills Plex and like
- 26:01Speaker 1: it also updates and changes so you can try new products,
- 26:04Speaker 1: all for recycling and doing something sustainable, which I just
- 26:08Speaker 1: think is so cool. But also in America, when you
- 26:12Speaker 1: get two five hundred points, if you're in the US,
- 26:16Speaker 1: you can exchange that for one hundred dollars outra And
- 26:20Speaker 1: I'm like, you.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Need to get that rolled out here.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, because like the free product is really
- 26:24Speaker 1: really good as well. I don't say that's not a
- 26:26Speaker 1: good thing. But I would also love for the voutro option.
- 26:28Speaker 1: So where are you Let's get that open here. Got
- 26:31Speaker 1: some feedback is the free promo? I now do it
- 26:35Speaker 1: for the gilts.
- 26:38Speaker 3: For us. Yeah, it's not so much toss.
- 26:40Speaker 1: When you're good to Mama is good to you. So yeah,
- 26:44Speaker 1: And I saw a creator talking about it on TikTok
- 26:46Speaker 1: and she was just saying how often she was like
- 26:50Speaker 1: she had empties and she's like I just save them
- 26:52Speaker 1: and I just take them in and I get a
- 26:53Speaker 1: bunch of points and it's so good. So you can
- 26:56Speaker 1: recycle lip products, body wash bottles, concealer tube and sticks,
- 27:01Speaker 1: shampoo and conditioner bottles, mascaratubes and ones, eyeliners and palettes,
- 27:05Speaker 1: and there's no minimum like, there's no minimum size, there's
- 27:09Speaker 1: no like if it's a travel product, that still counts
- 27:13Speaker 1: as one product to recycle, that still goes towards your points.
- 27:16Speaker 1: There are some exceptions, like things like makeup brushes and such,
- 27:20Speaker 1: But if you just look on their website, it tells
- 27:21Speaker 1: you what you can and can't recycle, it's super easy.
- 27:24Speaker 1: But I was like, yes, I love that, and any
- 27:28Speaker 1: Sephora store that's so good.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I know because Mac used to do a program like
- 27:34Speaker 2: that with their lipsticks.
- 27:35Speaker 1: When you took in ten, you got a free one.
- 27:37Speaker 3: Yeah, when you took in six, you gotta fry.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a bit much.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:40Speaker 2: They wrapped that up a few years ago, and I
- 27:42Speaker 2: was so heartbroken because you would do that.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I remember.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Turning through so many lipsticks. It's amazing. That's probably why
- 27:51Speaker 3: they're losing money.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Just you though, literally just you.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I love that it's such a good hack.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Well those are my favorites, m chicks.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Let us know what your favorites are at the clients
- 28:05Speaker 2: on Spotify, and also what you think of this episode.
- 28:09Speaker 3: I've had fun talking about it. Yeah.
- 28:12Speaker 1: If you're like, well, that sucked boring perfect. Well that
- 28:18Speaker 1: is a wrap for today's episode. Chicks. Thank you for
- 28:20Speaker 1: having us in your ear holes. We love to be here,
- 28:24Speaker 1: we do, and we'll see you next Tuesday.
- 28:26Speaker 3: See you next time, chicky.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Bye.
