- 0:38Speaker 2: all over the news today, and a whole lot more
- 0:40Speaker 2: coming up. The Knicks an amazing end of this. You
- 0:45Speaker 2: can tell it's amazing because I'm not a basketball fan.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I don't think I ever watched a basketball game in
- 0:50Speaker 2: my life. I actually got caught up in this. I
- 0:53Speaker 2: actually watched the whole game Saturday night, and it was
- 0:57Speaker 2: quite amazing, especially at the end.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Bands this is not a dreamy No, No Wight is ended.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Go.
- 1:07Speaker 5: I had to cry.
- 1:08Speaker 3: After fifty three years, the Knocks.
- 1:10Speaker 6: Are finally NBA champions once again.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Pretty amazing, pretty amazing. The sports story of the year,
- 1:22Speaker 2: maybe the decade. Uh and must be bothering the Yankees.
- 1:26Speaker 2: They're usually the superstars in New York, but now it's
- 1:28Speaker 2: the Knicks. Everybody wearing Knicks everything today here in the
- 1:32Speaker 2: iHeart kind of sad there's no every day, we had
- 1:37Speaker 2: these huge buffets of those blue and orange bagels. I
- 1:40Speaker 2: know it sounds disgusting blue and orange bagels, but I
- 1:43Speaker 2: kind of got addicted to them. I kind of missed them.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Will we get one on Thursday for the parade? I
- 1:48Speaker 2: actually bet I've become a Knicks fan. Now I know
- 1:50Speaker 2: who Brunson is and he was great.
- 1:53Speaker 7: Oh No, For some reason, I feel that the game
- 1:54Speaker 7: for us starts thirty.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Minutes later than as supposed to.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Weird, you said a byt nine o'clock.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Hey, who's Brown? Brown's the coach? Right Brown? He seemed
- 2:05Speaker 2: like a very very nice man. But after the game, uh,
- 2:09Speaker 2: you know the guy with the microphone, So how do
- 2:11Speaker 2: you feel now that how does it feel? And I
- 2:14Speaker 2: was waiting for his answer.
- 2:15Speaker 3: This was his answer, We got the dog on this team, lady.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Now.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Uh.
- 2:29Speaker 2: The announcer looks stunned. I think he even said, I've
- 2:33Speaker 2: never been so speechless in my life. Now that's what
- 2:35Speaker 2: that's how he Uh he does that in the locker
- 2:38Speaker 2: room to amp everybody up. That's his like chant in
- 2:41Speaker 2: the locker room. No wonder they got a rough first quarter.
- 2:45Speaker 2: All the time. I mean, he seems like the nicest
- 2:47Speaker 2: guy in the world. But I think of all the
- 2:50Speaker 2: great teachers and coaches who inspired me in school. I
- 2:54Speaker 2: never heard that before, but okay, that's his thing. Whenever
- 2:58Speaker 2: you see him, Hey, how are you whatever? You say
- 3:05Speaker 2: that guy, it's a beautiful jacket, all right, Okay, it's
- 3:11Speaker 2: kind of catchy. Uh. Anyway, big, big, big night for
- 3:15Speaker 2: the Knicks, and there will be a parade. Looks like
- 3:20Speaker 2: it'll be. Yeah, it'll be Thursday morning, crazy mom Donnie
- 3:23Speaker 2: talking about it.
- 3:24Speaker 8: We're going to be sure some additional details over the
- 3:26Speaker 8: next few days, but it is going to be on Thursday.
- 3:28Speaker 8: There's going to be a ceremony at City Hall. Then
- 3:30Speaker 8: there's going to be a ticker tape parade the first
- 3:33Speaker 8: time in Knick's history, and we're also going to be
- 3:35Speaker 8: presenting keys to the City to the team.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go. Now, I guess he's jumping on
- 3:41Speaker 2: the bandwagon. This Knicks bandwagon is big for politicians. I'm
- 3:44Speaker 2: watching Good Day in New York today, Hakeem Jefferies, that
- 3:48Speaker 2: robot who's always wearing the stiff suit, all of a
- 3:51Speaker 2: sudden he's in a jersey and a Knick's hat, looking
- 3:55Speaker 2: ridiculous on Good day in New York. But that's what
- 3:57Speaker 2: a Shumer did it too. That's what cheap pandering piticians do.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Get me a Knicks at They look ridiculous on TV.
- 4:04Speaker 2: But Mam Donnie pretending to be really into the New
- 4:07Speaker 2: York Knicks. No one has ever seen him at a
- 4:09Speaker 2: Knicks game ever in his life, but all of a
- 4:11Speaker 2: sudden he's a Knicks fan. You're a socialist, if you're
- 4:14Speaker 2: a communist, Mam Donnie, are you supposed to like this stuff?
- 4:19Speaker 2: This is like fun, happy stuff. You're not supposed to
- 4:21Speaker 2: like anything happy, are you? But there is. He's now
- 4:24Speaker 2: the new Knicks booster.
- 4:25Speaker 8: So we saw different players show up for this team,
- 4:28Speaker 8: show up for the city, and as a city, we
- 4:30Speaker 8: can't wait to show up for all of them.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Now, all right, Obviously there was chaos in some streets
- 4:36Speaker 2: after the game. Buses overturned, set on fire. It's quite disgusting,
- 4:40Speaker 2: but it's the Knicks. And they flew back to Westchester Airport,
- 4:46Speaker 2: which if you ever got to come to New York,
- 4:48Speaker 2: it's the nicest airport. It's like small, it's like that
- 4:50Speaker 2: Palm Beach Airport. It's small, easy to get in and
- 4:52Speaker 2: out of. But the plane. The charter plane was a
- 4:55Speaker 2: Delta charter plane brought the Knicks back early yesterday morning.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Listen to a pilot to the control tower.
- 5:01Speaker 9: Just want to let them know before they all fall asleep,
- 5:03Speaker 9: and we'll do for sure.
- 5:04Speaker 6: How the planes rocking and it's they're having a party.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yeah, so apparently there's a big party on the plane
- 5:09Speaker 2: all the way back, kind of like that. Remember the
- 5:11Speaker 2: Wolf of Wall Street movie, Remember that flight gonna probably
- 5:14Speaker 2: looks something like that a Delta Airlines charter.
- 5:17Speaker 5: Tell those guys congratulations, enjoy the moment.
- 5:20Speaker 9: Oh, they're enjoying it back there.
- 5:21Speaker 4: You probably can hear them.
- 5:22Speaker 6: They're they're having a good time.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Man.
- 5:24Speaker 6: Yeah, we'll pass it on.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Yeah, control tower, please let the guys know New York traycon,
- 5:29Speaker 2: the Guadia Tower, Kennedy.
- 5:30Speaker 10: Tower, maybe even New York Tower West, just the tower.
- 5:33Speaker 9: We're all we're all on about three or four hours
- 5:35Speaker 9: of sleep, but as happy as we could ever be.
- 5:37Speaker 5: Congression.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yeah, have you ever seen anything like this? I mean,
- 5:41Speaker 2: the Yankees win world champions all time, I guess it's
- 5:44Speaker 2: it's not so unexpected, but I never saw anything like this.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Where again, people like me, I've never seen a basketball
- 5:51Speaker 2: game in my life, caught up in it, watching it
- 5:53Speaker 2: like crazy. Been fifty three years the last time the
- 5:58Speaker 2: Knicks won the championship. The number one song in America
- 6:03Speaker 2: was tie a Yellow Ribbon around the Old Oak Tree, Tony, Orlando.
- 6:07Speaker 2: That's how long ago. It was, long, long time ago.
- 6:13Speaker 2: So anyway, we'll get back to the Knicks. We'll talk
- 6:15Speaker 2: about them throughout the show. President Trump, it turned eighty yesterday,
- 6:21Speaker 2: eighty years old, so we just hope everybody is in
- 6:24Speaker 2: that kind of shape when they turned eighty. He's in
- 6:26Speaker 2: the most is he. Well, he's not the oldest President
- 6:31Speaker 2: Biden would be, but you saw Biden at eighty two,
- 6:35Speaker 2: didn't know where he was. Trump NonStop, schedule, doesn't sleep,
- 6:40Speaker 2: big day yesterday, did a million things at the White House,
- 6:42Speaker 2: million events. Then last night they had the UFC fight, which,
- 6:48Speaker 2: if you watched the it didn't get a lot of
- 6:50Speaker 2: television covers. I thought lot of people wouldake it live,
- 6:52Speaker 2: but they didn't. But you can go online and see
- 6:54Speaker 2: it all of it. It's absolutely spectacular. I mean, just
- 6:57Speaker 2: the production elements of it spectacular. They built this beautiful
- 7:02Speaker 2: overhead thing they called the claw, the ring in the center,
- 7:04Speaker 2: the lighting, it was just unbelievable. Then that fly over
- 7:08Speaker 2: with all those military jets and mean absolutely spectacular the
- 7:13Speaker 2: way it was done. It was an amazing event. So
- 7:16Speaker 2: President Trump went to that that went for hours and hours.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Then they had fireworks later at one o'clock in the morning.
- 7:22Speaker 2: It took a while for everything to get done with
- 7:25Speaker 2: so they could get to the fireworks. That took place
- 7:27Speaker 2: at one o'clock in the morning. The President then had
- 7:31Speaker 2: to leave for Europe at three point fifteen in the morning.
- 7:34Speaker 2: So when did he sleep? Maybe on the plane, but
- 7:39Speaker 2: it looks like he didn't sleep. Between the one o'clock
- 7:41Speaker 2: fireworks and the three o'clock plane. He's on his way
- 7:45Speaker 2: to watch he just landed. He's in Geneva right now,
- 7:48Speaker 2: the g seventh Summit. This goes on for a few days. Again,
- 7:53Speaker 2: I repeat for a million of time. I don't know
- 7:55Speaker 2: why the hell he wants to do all this. He
- 7:56Speaker 2: was sitting in New York up there over over there,
- 7:59Speaker 2: block away in his office Trump Tower, having fun in
- 8:02Speaker 2: the earth. Now you got to fly to Geneva, You
- 8:05Speaker 2: got to talk to the president of Uruguay, you got
- 8:07Speaker 2: to talk to the president of France. Who wants to
- 8:09Speaker 2: talk to all these people. Doesn't look like a lot
- 8:11Speaker 2: of fun, this G seven summit. But this goes on
- 8:15Speaker 2: for a few days and then on Friday they will
- 8:18Speaker 2: sign the Iran deal. It is done. The President says
- 8:22Speaker 2: it's done, but this time Iran says it's done. They've
- 8:25Speaker 2: confirmed it. Straight to hor Moose will open on Friday.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Although it's kind of been open for the last week
- 8:32Speaker 2: or two. They've US has been bringing ships through there
- 8:36Speaker 2: for the last week. They've actually brought through one hundred
- 8:39Speaker 2: million barrels of oil in the last week, so but
- 8:43Speaker 2: Friday it'll officially opened. The deal. Part of the deal
- 8:46Speaker 2: is straights open, no tolls of any kind, completely open.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Oil is down five dollars a barrel today, down to eighty.
- 8:53Speaker 2: It's down thirty dollars from where it was. And as
- 8:57Speaker 2: you've noticed, when it was up ten dollars, lead story
- 9:01Speaker 2: on the nightly news, the main story in the nightly news.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Down thirty dollars. Don't mention They don't mention it. It
- 9:09Speaker 2: doesn't make the news. They don't want to report that.
- 9:13Speaker 2: So the Iran deal should be pretty good. Now. Democrats
- 9:18Speaker 2: will yell and scream this is the same thing as
- 9:20Speaker 2: Obama he had a deal. Why didn't just leave the
- 9:23Speaker 2: Obama deal? As soon as you got in office, he
- 9:25Speaker 2: tore up the Obama deal. We had their deal. Why
- 9:27Speaker 2: do we need another deal? Same thing? Well, this is
- 9:30Speaker 2: huge difference. It's the Obama deal. We handed them cash.
- 9:33Speaker 2: We delivered twelve billion in cash of them in cash,
- 9:38Speaker 2: and we didn't get much of anything for it. They
- 9:41Speaker 2: continued to have their nuclear program, they continued to fund
- 9:44Speaker 2: Hoodi Hesbola Hamas. After the Obama deal, we got October seventh,
- 9:51Speaker 2: the Holocaust. So this is a lot different. The difference
- 9:55Speaker 2: here is part of this deal is we completely destroyed
- 9:57Speaker 2: their navy. We completely destroyed their arm we completely destroyed
- 10:01Speaker 2: their air force. We took out a lot of their missiles,
- 10:04Speaker 2: we took out all of their air defenses. So the
- 10:07Speaker 2: big difference here. Also part of the deal is we
- 10:10Speaker 2: will get all their nuclear material. We will go in
- 10:13Speaker 2: and collect it and destroy it, which we've done before
- 10:16Speaker 2: in other places. We're very good at destroying nuclear material
- 10:20Speaker 2: right on site if we have to. And then you
- 10:22Speaker 2: can get all these democrats saying I don't even know what,
- 10:24Speaker 2: why did we have to go to war? I was
- 10:26Speaker 2: listening to you, ever listened to this Governor Cuomo radio show.
- 10:29Speaker 2: It's the dumbest radio show in the world. We still
- 10:33Speaker 2: not made clear why we went. He has not made clear.
- 10:36Speaker 2: We still don't know the reason. I think he's explained
- 10:39Speaker 2: it about five hundred times. The exact reason it was,
- 10:43Speaker 2: Iran was getting extremely close to a nuclear weapon. When
- 10:47Speaker 2: you have uranium, and they claimed it was for commercial purposes,
- 10:51Speaker 2: just for electricity purposes. Well, if that's the case, you
- 10:55Speaker 2: enrich it to twenty percent. They had already enriched it
- 10:59Speaker 2: to sixty percent, and we're heading to seventy five percent,
- 11:03Speaker 2: and once you get to ninety percent, you've got a
- 11:05Speaker 2: nuclear weapon. So they were getting too close. And our
- 11:09Speaker 2: intelligence is rarely intelligence. Every intelligence service was reporting they
- 11:13Speaker 2: were within a month to get into ninety percent and
- 11:16Speaker 2: they would have had a nuclear weapon. That's the reason
- 11:18Speaker 2: he couldn't have made that more clear. Then you'll get
- 11:20Speaker 2: these other people that he promised no new wars. He
- 11:24Speaker 2: never ever, ever promised that. He did promise no unnecessary wars.
- 11:28Speaker 2: But also check the record, for forty years he has
- 11:32Speaker 2: been talking about going into Iran. You can find about
- 11:36Speaker 2: five million interviews through the last forty years of him
- 11:39Speaker 2: saying he would go to Iran and get rid of
- 11:41Speaker 2: that regime. Even once took out a full page ad
- 11:43Speaker 2: in the New York Times I think it was in
- 11:45Speaker 2: the late eighties, nineties, early nineties, full page ads, and
- 11:49Speaker 2: we had to go get rid of that regime. So
- 11:51Speaker 2: it's something he's talked about for years. Now, will the
- 11:54Speaker 2: deal hold? Who knows? It's a ran. They've broken every
- 11:57Speaker 2: agreement they've ever signed. But you can always go back.
- 12:02Speaker 2: But Democrats very upset about all this, and they always
- 12:06Speaker 2: you know, who has shown up now all over the
- 12:08Speaker 2: news yesterday today, Obama, Barack Obama. And if you watch
- 12:13Speaker 2: the videos, you realize how this guy got elected president.
- 12:16Speaker 2: I mean, if you think about it was quite a feat.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Nobody ever became president with such a thin resume. There
- 12:23Speaker 2: was nothing there, no management experience, never had much of
- 12:26Speaker 2: a job of any kind. He was a state legislator,
- 12:30Speaker 2: which is like a part time job. He was a
- 12:32Speaker 2: community organizer, nobody knows what that is. And then he
- 12:36Speaker 2: was in the actual US Senate, but he only served
- 12:40Speaker 2: there like forty four days before announcing he was running,
- 12:45Speaker 2: So he really had no experience to be president. But
- 12:48Speaker 2: the guy looks great. The guy sounds great. He's such
- 12:52Speaker 2: an impressive guy, and when he speaks he sounds absolutely brilliant, gracious.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Now he gets nothing done when it comes to actually
- 13:01Speaker 2: doing anything. I mean, look at Obamacare. That couldn't have
- 13:03Speaker 2: been more of a mess. I mean, it sounded great
- 13:05Speaker 2: on paper, but it wreaked havoc on our medical system,
- 13:09Speaker 2: drug prices, medical costs. If you like your doctor, you
- 13:14Speaker 2: can keep your dog. Everybody lost their doctor immediately. But
- 13:17Speaker 2: he showed up again yesterday. It was all over the news.
- 13:19Speaker 2: And Democrats love this because it's like a lot of
- 13:23Speaker 2: the people they love. They sound good, they say the
- 13:25Speaker 2: right things. Thick Gavin Newsom looks good, sounds good, says
- 13:29Speaker 2: all the right stuff. Is the worst disaster as a
- 13:31Speaker 2: governor ever. The state is in complete chaos, but he
- 13:35Speaker 2: looks good, he sounds good. Same thing with Obama. I mean,
- 13:37Speaker 2: listen how good this guy sounds.
- 13:39Speaker 11: It is doubtful that any agreement that arises is going
- 13:45Speaker 11: to be significantly different or a significant improvement from now that.
- 13:51Speaker 2: I mean, looks at that guy. I mean, you look
- 13:53Speaker 2: at the way Trump talks. It's rough and tough and crude,
- 13:56Speaker 2: but when you say it is doubtful that if any
- 14:00Speaker 2: thing arises that it will be significantly It just sounds brilliant.
- 14:03Speaker 11: It is doubtful that any agreement that arises is going
- 14:09Speaker 11: to be significantly different.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Now it sounds great. I can't Trump talk like that,
- 14:16Speaker 2: Well he can't. But meantime, he gets stuff done. This
- 14:20Speaker 2: guy sounds great, gets nothing done.
- 14:22Speaker 11: The notion that we can just bully our way or
- 14:25Speaker 11: bomb our way to solutions.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Now this is from a guy who bombed five countries
- 14:31Speaker 2: when he was in office and bullied them.
- 14:33Speaker 11: They sometimes seem appealing, But the fact of the matter
- 14:37Speaker 11: is is that taking the time to explore diplomacy and
- 14:42Speaker 11: exhaust the possibilities of coming up with deals that don't
- 14:47Speaker 11: solve one hundred percent of the problem, but solve.
- 14:49Speaker 2: I mean, you gotta admit that guy sounds brilliant. He
- 14:52Speaker 2: sounds so thoughtful and so distinguished. To me, he's very prefessorial.
- 14:58Speaker 2: It sounds great. Ain't anything done again, actually execute any
- 15:02Speaker 2: of this. But it's like a consultant. You know these
- 15:04Speaker 2: consultants that come in and everybody gathers in the conference room.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Consultant makes an incredible speech. Nothing he says, I'll actually
- 15:11Speaker 2: do anything but it sounds great. And Obama was in Chicago.
- 15:15Speaker 2: He's there for the opening of the Obama Presidential Library.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Go google it and take a look at the pictures
- 15:22Speaker 2: of it. It is considered the single ugliest building ever built.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Nobody can figure out what the hell they were thinking.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Why would he approve such a thing. All the neighbors
- 15:35Speaker 2: of the surrounding area are suing to get this thing
- 15:39Speaker 2: torn down. It's a major eyesore. And the cost over
- 15:43Speaker 2: and this good example of Obama. I mean, he sounds great,
- 15:46Speaker 2: but he can't manage anything. They're like seven hundred million
- 15:50Speaker 2: over budget for the simplest ugliest building in the world.
- 15:54Speaker 2: The cost is already like was started as like a
- 15:57Speaker 2: thousand times more than it should have been, and they're
- 16:00Speaker 2: like a million times over budget. Anyway, we'll take some
- 16:03Speaker 2: calls in a minute. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 16:06Speaker 2: seven ten is the number eight hundred three two one
- 16:10Speaker 2: zero seven ten.
- 16:11Speaker 1: They'll Mark Simon Show live from the w R Life
- 16:15Speaker 1: back studio.
- 16:18Speaker 3: WHOA, Let's take some calls.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the
- 16:24Speaker 2: number eight hundred three two one to zero seven ten.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Let's go to rich in Myrtle beach Rich, How you doing, Rich?
- 16:31Speaker 2: Are you there there?
- 16:32Speaker 4: You go? Okay? Once I hear the ding now on
- 16:35Speaker 4: the uh, you know what was great news yesterday? And
- 16:38Speaker 4: you know the gas was going to start coming down
- 16:40Speaker 4: pretty drastically. I hope it comes down as stats as
- 16:43Speaker 4: it always goes up. But you know, all these crazy liberals,
- 16:45Speaker 4: including members of my own family. You know what they're
- 16:47Speaker 4: worried about. Finally they took the Trump's name off the
- 16:51Speaker 4: whatever that is the center, right, that's what they're worried about.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Thank god, they finally got his name off the Kennedy Center.
- 17:00Speaker 4: That's their biggest problem. And you know the gas is
- 17:02Speaker 4: never going to come back. I can't even talk to them.
- 17:04Speaker 4: I don't even like going over this, talk.
- 17:06Speaker 2: To anybody about this, never talk about politics with anybody.
- 17:09Speaker 2: They start bringing up Trump, just yes them to death
- 17:11Speaker 2: and change the subject.
- 17:13Speaker 3: What do you Why would you argue with them?
- 17:16Speaker 4: You can't too bad. You have to see him every
- 17:18Speaker 4: once in a while, you know.
- 17:19Speaker 2: No, I like the Knicks. All of a sudden, I'm
- 17:21Speaker 2: a Knicks fan. Now if I see a guy in
- 17:23Speaker 2: the hall and goes the next stink, stand there and
- 17:26Speaker 2: argue with the guy, you just yeah, you're right. Goodbye.
- 17:30Speaker 2: When you see a homeless guy or a nut on
- 17:32Speaker 2: the sidewalk of ranting and raving about Jesus this, and
- 17:35Speaker 2: then you stop and argue with.
- 17:36Speaker 4: Him, well, no, no, these people, you know, so many
- 17:41Speaker 4: people actually smart, and it's just they really need a
- 17:43Speaker 4: doctor for the trump to rangement syndrome. These people really
- 17:46Speaker 4: need psychiatrists.
- 17:47Speaker 3: It will work.
- 17:48Speaker 2: The psychiatrist has trump to arrangement syndrome. Hey, they're nice,
- 17:53Speaker 2: normal people. They go nuts on this subject. You know,
- 17:57Speaker 2: every everybody has some guy they hate, maybe somebody that
- 18:00Speaker 2: fired him, somebody or the ex wife. You bring up
- 18:03Speaker 2: the name there, kid, they go crazy when you mentioned
- 18:07Speaker 2: the name that.
- 18:08Speaker 4: Now the same thing's going to happen Mark, when JD.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Vance or Rubio, the Vance Rubio ticket comes along. It's
- 18:14Speaker 4: never going to end.
- 18:14Speaker 12: It's like they're just going to go ballistic all the time.
- 18:16Speaker 2: It's just well, but remember it happened with Bush and
- 18:19Speaker 2: that's where the name started. They called it Bush derangement
- 18:22Speaker 2: syndrome back then.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Charles crowdwatching watching that King Jeffrey's on TV. This guy
- 18:27Speaker 4: literally has an IQ of eighty.
- 18:29Speaker 12: It's really said, these people are getting jobs like this year.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but you say the right it's democrats say the
- 18:34Speaker 2: right things, they'll vote for you. It doesn't matter what
- 18:36Speaker 2: it mom, Donnie Gavin Newsom. Anyway, thanks for calling. Let's
- 18:39Speaker 2: go to uh Pat and Scarsdale. Pat, how you doing?
- 18:42Speaker 2: Hey good.
- 18:45Speaker 13: As part of the deal with Iran was supposed to
- 18:49Speaker 13: be picking up the enriched iranium. Yea once thought, come
- 18:52Speaker 13: comes to my min wapped them turning that over to
- 18:56Speaker 13: utilities there the enriched uranium, so maybe the utilities could
- 19:02Speaker 13: use it for their processes.
- 19:03Speaker 2: No, no, we destroy it. We destroyed it on site. We
- 19:06Speaker 2: got plenty of uranium. We don't need the uranium. But
- 19:09Speaker 2: we did this well. Last time we did this was
- 19:11Speaker 2: Libya when Kaddafi gave up all of his nuclear dust,
- 19:13Speaker 2: nuclear material. We've got teams that know how to go
- 19:15Speaker 2: over there and destroy it. In some cases they bring
- 19:18Speaker 2: it back here and destroy it, but it's easy to
- 19:21Speaker 2: destroy on site. Let's go to Joe in Connecticut. Joe,
- 19:25Speaker 2: how are you hello?
- 19:26Speaker 10: Mark? Yes, hear your voice.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Yes, look you know.
- 19:33Speaker 10: Mandani actually has also destroyed the Mitchell Lama housing program
- 19:38Speaker 10: in New York. They have an edict or if you
- 19:42Speaker 10: have a three bedroom you have to have three unrelated
- 19:46Speaker 10: people who live in that same apartment at the same time,
- 19:51Speaker 10: they have Habitat for Humanity acting as the monitor, and
- 19:56Speaker 10: they have a lot of Mandanni buddies in there. That
- 20:00Speaker 10: is scrutinizing all this sizing.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Now you're up in Connecticut. What do you know about
- 20:05Speaker 2: Mitchell Lama?
- 20:06Speaker 10: How I just escaped New York, ran away from there?
- 20:10Speaker 2: You did? We're connect run and.
- 20:12Speaker 10: Raised in Brooklyn, New York. I'm eighty three years old.
- 20:16Speaker 10: I ran away from Connecticut, I mean from from Brooklyn
- 20:19Speaker 10: about a year ago at this point.
- 20:21Speaker 2: And where are you in Connecticut?
- 20:23Speaker 10: I'm in Fairfield County.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Very Westport. Look at you.
- 20:27Speaker 10: You better believe it. Brother. I'm telling you from jud
- 20:30Speaker 10: who came up shining shoes to Westport. This is the
- 20:34Speaker 10: American dream and these people and all of this, all
- 20:39Speaker 10: of this insanity, all of this left wing Democratic hatred
- 20:44Speaker 10: that they that they churn like butter and smear over everybody.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Now, do not use the word smear in Westport. They
- 20:52Speaker 2: won't know what you're saying.
- 20:54Speaker 13: No, they do, they do.
- 20:55Speaker 10: It's very uh.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Actually Westport a lot of New Yorkers, big Jewish community
- 21:00Speaker 2: Sport too.
- 21:00Speaker 10: But if you go to Field County. God blessed the Jews.
- 21:04Speaker 2: If you go up to uh Shelton, don't say the
- 21:06Speaker 2: word shmeir. They won't know what you're talking about.
- 21:08Speaker 10: Well, you know Woodridge has a cats Is Deli up there.
- 21:11Speaker 10: How Glish can it be?
- 21:12Speaker 5: Oh?
- 21:13Speaker 3: Well, that's true, that's true. But Westport, Yeah, you play cats.
- 21:16Speaker 10: Is Delhi up there.
- 21:17Speaker 8: Mark.
- 21:18Speaker 10: But I'm telling you this to what they've done to America.
- 21:21Speaker 10: Trump derangement syndrome is worse than this.
- 21:24Speaker 2: All right, enough complaining. It's a beautiful sunny day. Go
- 21:27Speaker 2: out and enjoy it.
- 21:29Speaker 10: Eighty three years old, Mark, I'm still kicking ass.
- 21:31Speaker 2: All right. Yeah, are you married?
- 21:34Speaker 10: I'm a widower. Oh so I have a very nice
- 21:37Speaker 10: lady friends.
- 21:38Speaker 2: A lot of women chasing you around there in Westport.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Excuse me, a lot of women chasing you around in Westport.
- 21:43Speaker 5: Huh.
- 21:44Speaker 10: Well I have to duck Bob and weive because you
- 21:47Speaker 10: know there they drool, they go they go wild.
- 21:50Speaker 2: I think so. Yeah, watching over go to that new
- 21:53Speaker 2: Deelamar Hotel, that bar, that bar is very active. I
- 21:57Speaker 2: think you guy like you walking in which the new
- 22:00Speaker 2: DeLamar Hotel.
- 22:02Speaker 10: The DeLamar Hotel over here in Westports.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it just opened, big huge bar. A lot of
- 22:07Speaker 2: action there. I think you should.
- 22:08Speaker 10: Well, I tell you what I avoid the action of
- 22:11Speaker 10: my old dage. I got to pick and choose Mark
- 22:14Speaker 10: You once you get me wound up by a long
- 22:16Speaker 10: distance frunner.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Yeah, a guy like you can't afford to be fun anyway,
- 22:20Speaker 2: we got to go talk to anybody else.
- 22:22Speaker 13: But uh, all right, thank you very much.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Thanks for Actually we got to do the news because
- 22:28Speaker 2: Michael Goodwin is on vacation. I think he comes back
- 22:31Speaker 2: next week. But uh, coming up next we'll talk to
- 22:33Speaker 2: Howie Carr. Lots to talk to him about coming up
- 22:36Speaker 2: on seven to ten wo.
- 22:38Speaker 3: R The Mark Simone Show on sr.
- 22:44Speaker 12: Well.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Howie car one of the great talk show hosts in America,
- 22:48Speaker 2: also a best selling author. You should get his latest book,
- 22:51Speaker 2: Mass Corruption. You can get it at Amazon. You want

- 23:04Speaker 5: And it's non gest stating parents Week, so it's a
- 23:08Speaker 5: good time to go to the store site and buy
- 23:10Speaker 5: something for your nonjest dating parent for a gift. Howie
- 23:13Speaker 5: Careshow dot com click on store.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I can't remember non gestating that's a father.
- 23:20Speaker 5: Come on, it's New York State. Kathy hochel Is she's
- 23:23Speaker 5: she's pondering whether to sign this monumental legislation.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Yeah, they got the actually passed this law that you
- 23:30Speaker 2: can't say mother or father in state business. You have
- 23:32Speaker 2: to say gest dating parent.
- 23:35Speaker 5: Is the New York Times reporting on this issue, by
- 23:37Speaker 5: the way, this burning issue. I'd rather about it.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I don't think so. Hey, we have a nick fever.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Everybody's talking about the New York nixt Outside of New York,
- 23:46Speaker 2: Are people like in Boston are they talking about this?
- 23:49Speaker 5: No, not, not much. I mean it's kind of like,
- 23:53Speaker 5: you know, the Celtics got eliminated early on by the
- 23:57Speaker 5: seventy six ers, and then the seventy six ers got
- 23:59Speaker 5: erased instantly by the next But hey, I mean it's
- 24:02Speaker 5: not it's not bad. I remember the old days, the
- 24:05Speaker 5: old team. This is this is a good team. This
- 24:07Speaker 5: is a hustling team. Everybody's happy about it. I mean
- 24:10Speaker 5: everybody in New York. I don't understand why they're happy. Yeah,
- 24:13Speaker 5: it's just you know, it's one of those things if
- 24:15Speaker 5: it's not your team, it's it's just totally different.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Obviously, now that UFC fight last night, I love this.
- 24:21Speaker 2: I'm not a big UFC fan, but it's great because
- 24:23Speaker 2: it drives these democrats, these liberals nuts. They go quite yeah, oh.
- 24:28Speaker 5: Yeah, you know. The best the best headline I saw
- 24:31Speaker 5: was in the Babylon b They said, you know, democrats
- 24:33Speaker 5: want to stop uh stop the hallowed ground that was
- 24:37Speaker 5: used by Joe Biden to take selfies with topless trainees.
- 24:41Speaker 5: For me, used to the UFC flight. It's a perfect
- 24:45Speaker 5: it's perfect. You know you're not and and you know.
- 24:48Speaker 5: Then then there was a guy on the Republican on
- 24:51Speaker 5: CNN a couple of weeks ago mentioned that that the
- 24:54Speaker 5: topless trainees and they're all going, what are you talking about?
- 24:57Speaker 5: You know, they all have this convenient amnesia the market.
- 25:00Speaker 5: You notice that.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and then some Democrats they showed it on MSNBC UFC.
- 25:07Speaker 2: The guy's punching them. They're punching each other in the face,
- 25:10Speaker 2: They're kicking them in the stuff. This is the worst
- 25:12Speaker 2: thing for liberals. They really have no idea what goes
- 25:15Speaker 2: on in America? Do they in Middle America?
- 25:17Speaker 5: Right? And then they had this they had some kind
- 25:19Speaker 5: of counter counter event, and it was just these these
- 25:25Speaker 5: horrible people, these ancient losers, you know, Joy Read or
- 25:30Speaker 5: maybe it was maybe she was a different one this weekend,
- 25:33Speaker 5: but Bette Midler and Robert than here and there. Then
- 25:36Speaker 5: they they end up there's about forty of them and
- 25:38Speaker 5: they're all singing some song off key, which is on
- 25:42Speaker 5: the top of an offense. It's terrible song. And I mean,
- 25:45Speaker 5: this is this is how you uh you know, this
- 25:48Speaker 5: is just how you counter program. I mean, I guess
- 25:53Speaker 5: it is differently, you know, the counter programming. It means different,
- 25:57Speaker 5: a different type of show. But yeah, I mean we
- 26:00Speaker 5: want to go to that show.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Yeah. So they're mad that we're war with the RAN.
- 26:05Speaker 2: They're mad that we're in a ceasefire. A deal has
- 26:08Speaker 2: been announced. They're mad about that. But what do you
- 26:11Speaker 2: think happens Friday? You think we actually signed this deal?
- 26:14Speaker 5: I don't know. I don't I think they'll sign some deal.
- 26:16Speaker 5: I don't think it's really worth the paper it's written on, honestly,
- 26:19Speaker 5: But you know, I guess, I guess the point is
- 26:21Speaker 5: just to get the price of the gasoline down. It's
- 26:23Speaker 5: already like under four bucks where I drive around in Boston,
- 26:29Speaker 5: and so I guess that's the key. Just get get
- 26:31Speaker 5: by the election, get by the mid terms. You know
- 26:33Speaker 5: that's redistricted, so that they may be the how Republicans
- 26:37Speaker 5: may be able to keep control of the House. The
- 26:39Speaker 5: economy is in pretty good shape other than the price
- 26:41Speaker 5: of gasoline and diesel. So I guess, I guess it's
- 26:45Speaker 5: a you know, it doesn't it's not exciting me though,
- 26:49Speaker 5: Is it exciting you?
- 26:51Speaker 2: No? No, this is going to go on for a while.
- 26:55Speaker 2: There'll be other chapters to this, but yeah, I kind.
- 26:59Speaker 5: Of get the few and this is like, this is
- 27:01Speaker 5: like the end of World War One, you know what
- 27:03Speaker 5: I mean. I hope it's not going to be twenty years,
- 27:06Speaker 5: but I just they're not. They're not. They have no
- 27:09Speaker 5: intention of abiding by this.
- 27:12Speaker 2: You got to get him credit though, those Iranian negotiators,
- 27:14Speaker 2: you could blow up everything in sight, you could have
- 27:17Speaker 2: a bomb right aimed at their head. They still give
- 27:20Speaker 2: you a hard time. It's pretty interesting.
- 27:21Speaker 5: Well, you know, the thing is they knew that we
- 27:23Speaker 5: weren't going to blow them up. That's the key. You know,
- 27:25Speaker 5: they were counting on our on our innate charity and uh,
- 27:31Speaker 5: you know New Testament like actions, and you know, I
- 27:36Speaker 5: think we should have just taken them out. I mean,
- 27:38Speaker 5: I just I don't know, but I mean it's I
- 27:40Speaker 5: you know, I wouldn't. On the other hand, I don't
- 27:42Speaker 5: want to lose the mid terms. I don't want if
- 27:44Speaker 5: I were President Trump, I wouldn't want to get impeached
- 27:46Speaker 5: every two months for you know, for for having a
- 27:49Speaker 5: UFC fight on the White House Alon.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's what it would have been. Yeah, but
- 27:54Speaker 2: you know him, he kind of would want that. He
- 27:55Speaker 2: loves trouble, he loves problems, he loves battling, he loves
- 27:58Speaker 2: a fight. He'd like getting impeached every month. He didn't.
- 28:03Speaker 2: It wakes him up. He loves it.
- 28:05Speaker 5: Yeah. I was just over a JP Morgan doing some
- 28:08Speaker 5: banking transactions. They said, do you need anything else? And
- 28:10Speaker 5: I said, I was thinking about to say, just don't
- 28:12Speaker 5: debank me, like President Trump and all the rest of
- 28:15Speaker 5: his family, but I thought that I need.
- 28:19Speaker 12: To say that.
- 28:19Speaker 2: You know, when they debanked him, they sent a letter.
- 28:22Speaker 2: You know what it said at the end of the
- 28:23Speaker 2: end of the letter. What the letter ended with, thank
- 28:27Speaker 2: you for your attention to this matter. Is that where
- 28:32Speaker 2: he got that, That's where he got it. I think
- 28:34Speaker 2: he does that just to troll them. I think that's
- 28:37Speaker 2: why he does it, just to needle them.
- 28:39Speaker 5: Oh that's great, I didn't know that. That's that's really
- 28:41Speaker 5: an interesting point.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Hey, an immigrant came to this country with nothing, an immigrant,
- 28:48Speaker 2: African American immigrant, and he became the first trillionaire in
- 28:51Speaker 2: the world. Why are Democrats mad at this guy? What
- 28:53Speaker 2: did he do wrong?
- 28:55Speaker 5: That's what I keep saying. I mean, not only is
- 28:57Speaker 5: he an immigrant, and they claim he was an illegal, right,
- 29:01Speaker 5: I mean that makes it even more of a nature's nobleman. Right.
- 29:05Speaker 5: And he's an African American. I mean, what's the problem here?
- 29:13Speaker 5: And and he's made all these other people millionaires now,
- 29:17Speaker 5: and and you know a large percentage of them are
- 29:20Speaker 5: persons of color pocs. I mean I would think they
- 29:24Speaker 5: and I'll bet some of them even are by pocs,
- 29:27Speaker 5: which is even better. Right, So what's the problem here
- 29:32Speaker 5: with Elon Musk.
- 29:34Speaker 2: It's not like he was a hedge fund guy just
- 29:35Speaker 2: manipulating stocks. He was a guy that invented stuff. They
- 29:39Speaker 2: claim they love electric cars, He's the guy that perfected it.
- 29:42Speaker 2: He invented rockets of things that saved lives of starlink
- 29:46Speaker 2: all this other stuff.
- 29:48Speaker 5: So yeah, and now and now Bernie Sanders is going
- 29:52Speaker 5: to have to the twillion is a billionaires. He had
- 29:58Speaker 5: to cut out millionaires a few years by when you
- 30:00Speaker 5: know he got his three his three houses after he
- 30:04Speaker 5: allowed Hillary Clinton to make a make a takeover of
- 30:08Speaker 5: his campaigns in two thousand and eight and in twenty sixty. Yeah,
- 30:14Speaker 5: he's these people though, I mean, you know, how did
- 30:17Speaker 5: how did the fake Indian Elizabeth Warren? How did she
- 30:21Speaker 5: suddenly become worth twelve million dollars? I know she got
- 30:24Speaker 5: to no interest loan to buy her mansion and near
- 30:26Speaker 5: Harvard Square and Cambridge, But I mean that doesn't work
- 30:29Speaker 5: out the twelve million bucks. Where'd the twelve million bucks
- 30:32Speaker 5: come from?
- 30:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, government salary twelve million bucks. Now we
- 30:37Speaker 2: know how Bernie made the money.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:42Speaker 5: How about Aanna Presley. She's our squad member from Boston.
- 30:45Speaker 5: She she's never had a real job, doesn't even have
- 30:49Speaker 5: a college degree. Her her husband is as a jailbird
- 30:52Speaker 5: who did ten years in prison. He gets out of prison,
- 30:55Speaker 5: she gets elected to Congress, and he becomes an empowerment consultant,
- 30:59Speaker 5: an empowered month consultant, that's his job. Al Sharpton says,
- 31:05Speaker 5: consultant now now, now there worth ten dollars. And they
- 31:09Speaker 5: have a mansion on Martha's vineyard where where Barack Obama lives.
- 31:14Speaker 2: John Kerry, unbelievable.
- 31:15Speaker 5: It's nice, isn't it.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Only in America, Only in American government. Hey, Howie car

- 33:06Speaker 2: Musk becomes the first trillionaire in the world on Friday,
- 33:12Speaker 2: and everybody hates him for everybody's mad and other not everybody.
- 33:15Speaker 2: The Democrats. The crazy Democrats are furious and fuming at
- 33:19Speaker 2: Elon Musk. Will go over some of that, but otherwise
- 33:23Speaker 2: everything doing great. Oil down five dollars a barrel today,

- 34:07Speaker 8: few days, but it is going to be on Thursday.
- 34:09Speaker 8: There's going to be a ceremony at city Hall. Then
- 34:11Speaker 8: there's going to be a ticker tape parade the first
- 34:14Speaker 8: time in Knick's history, and we're also going to be
- 34:16Speaker 8: presenting keys to the city to the team.
- 34:18Speaker 2: It's the Canyon of Heroes. They always say down the
- 34:20Speaker 2: Canyon Heroes that actually goes up, it heads uptown, It
- 34:24Speaker 2: starts at the bottom and heads up to City Hall.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Do you know that the Knicks, each player will get
- 34:30Speaker 2: a bonus for winning the championship. You know how much?
- 34:33Speaker 2: The bonus is seven hundred and seventy thousand dollars. Each
- 34:38Speaker 2: player gets almost a million dollars three quarters of a
- 34:42Speaker 2: million dollars as a bonus. President Trump described the next
- 34:47Speaker 2: championship run as maybe the greatest of all time. Sent
- 34:51Speaker 2: them a great message. Now, of course, you had some
- 34:55Speaker 2: mayhem afterwards. In the Times Square area forty second Street
- 34:59Speaker 2: down to Grands Central, sixty three people arrested, four stabbings,
- 35:04Speaker 2: one shooting. But this was a pleasure compared to Chicago
- 35:09Speaker 2: on a typical Saturday night. Ten members of the NYPD
- 35:14Speaker 2: were injured, including one officer hit by a glass bottle.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Was pretty ugly stuff. Now. Setting buses on fire over
- 35:21Speaker 2: turning buses that kind of sere were buses that were
- 35:25Speaker 2: being used to transport World Cup soccer fans to MetLife Stadium.
- 35:30Speaker 2: So you know, we got surveillance video over every inch
- 35:32Speaker 2: of the street, and if you look at the video,
- 35:35Speaker 2: you can clearly see the faces of the idiots doing this.
- 35:38Speaker 2: So hopefully they will all be tracked down and arrested.
- 35:42Speaker 2: One bus was completely torched after these maniacs lit pieces
- 35:46Speaker 2: of clothing on fire and tossed it inside. Again, hopefully
- 35:50Speaker 2: they'll find and track down every single one of them. Yesterday,
- 35:55Speaker 2: the UFC fight last night at the White House looking
- 35:58Speaker 2: people that were there video spectacular staging production, really really
- 36:05Speaker 2: amazing night, and it went on for hours. Now, this
- 36:10Speaker 2: is very upsetting to democrats and liberals. They never heard
- 36:12Speaker 2: of UFC fighting. They don't know what it is, you know,
- 36:15Speaker 2: especially the media types. They all live in the middle
- 36:18Speaker 2: of Manhattan. They live in the middle of d C,
- 36:21Speaker 2: the middle of Beverly Hills. They've never been to actual America.
- 36:26Speaker 2: They don't know what a wah wah is. Seriously, they
- 36:29Speaker 2: don't never heard of it. They don't know what the
- 36:32Speaker 2: olive garden is. They've never been to one. They've never
- 36:34Speaker 2: heard of it. You have no idea about normal America.
- 36:38Speaker 2: They've heard of NASCAR, they don't know that anybody actually
- 36:41Speaker 2: watches it. They don't imagine anybody actually goes to it.
- 36:46Speaker 2: It's actually the number one spectator sport in America, NASCAR,
- 36:50Speaker 2: but they don't they don't know about any of this stuff.
- 36:52Speaker 2: So they certainly don't know anything about UFC fighting. They've
- 36:56Speaker 2: never heard about it, and they thought this was discussed.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Look at this PBS. You know, they have a PBS
- 37:03Speaker 2: news hour. You want to see some slanted you want
- 37:07Speaker 2: to see some biased, slanted news one night. Put on
- 37:10Speaker 2: that PBS News Hour. It's on every night, so on
- 37:12Speaker 2: Friday night. And they only have like the most left
- 37:16Speaker 2: wing kooks. If they have anybody they call a republican,
- 37:19Speaker 2: it's always like a New York Times republican, which means
- 37:23Speaker 2: a left winger. It means it's a very biased left winger.
- 37:27Speaker 2: So it's David Brooks, the real left wing New York
- 37:29Speaker 2: Times calumnist. Actually now he works for The Atlantic, which
- 37:33Speaker 2: is the most biased left wing publication on earth. And
- 37:38Speaker 2: then from MS now Jonathan k Part by the way,
- 37:41Speaker 2: two very nice guys, but the most slanted left wing guys.
- 37:45Speaker 2: So that's who they have on and they're denouncing UFC
- 37:49Speaker 2: fighting and they said it shows the cultural decline. It's unconscionable. Now,
- 37:56Speaker 2: all these people denouncing it. When Biden had that those
- 38:01Speaker 2: topless tranny people dancing all over the White House topless,
- 38:06Speaker 2: and remember they painted the south southern part of the
- 38:09Speaker 2: White House. They painted it red, white and blue, and
- 38:12Speaker 2: they painted the columns. It was disgusting what they did
- 38:15Speaker 2: to the White House. And these trans people were topless
- 38:19Speaker 2: trans women or I guess there were women, I don't know,
- 38:22Speaker 2: but topless dancing with Biden all over the White House
- 38:26Speaker 2: lawnch I mean, you couldn't found anything more unpresidential than
- 38:30Speaker 2: this whole thing. But you know, it's all these same people.
- 38:33Speaker 2: David Brooks, Jonathan k part never mentioned it, never did it,
- 38:36Speaker 2: never said, never denounce it. But they said, this is
- 38:40Speaker 2: the culture of decline of America. They said John F.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Kennedy brought Robert Frost, Jerome Robbins, Leonard Bernstein to the
- 38:48Speaker 2: White House. He also brought Judith Exner. He brought the
- 38:53Speaker 2: Marilyn Monroe into the back door. Remember Pixie and Dixie,
- 38:56Speaker 2: those two hookers he had on staff who would swim
- 38:59Speaker 2: with him in the pool.
- 39:00Speaker 4: Well.
- 39:01Speaker 2: And now we have cage fighting. Don't say America's don't
- 39:05Speaker 2: anybody say America is not in cultural decline. Well, but
- 39:09Speaker 2: again they're unaware of what goes on in America. They
- 39:12Speaker 2: don't know. UFC fighting is a very, very very big
- 39:16Speaker 2: deal in America. I'm not a fan of it though.
- 39:19Speaker 2: I'm not a big boxing fan, but that looks a
- 39:21Speaker 2: little more, a little more dignified, a little more elegant.
- 39:24Speaker 2: But they're barely wearing gloves. They're punching each other in
- 39:28Speaker 2: the head, and they're kicking each other in the stomach.
- 39:32Speaker 2: To me, it's not the greatest sport, but what do
- 39:34Speaker 2: I know. So on Friday, Elon Musk becomes the first
- 39:38Speaker 2: trillionaire in the history of the world, the first trillionaire ever.
- 39:43Speaker 2: It was an amazing feat, especially for a guy that
- 39:46Speaker 2: came to America with nothing, an immigrant, an African American immigrant,
- 39:52Speaker 2: comes here and becomes the first trillionaire. How much is
- 39:55Speaker 2: a trillion dollars? Well, think about it this way. One
- 40:00Speaker 2: one million seconds ago, it was June first, a billion
- 40:06Speaker 2: seconds ago. It was nineteen ninety four, a trillion seconds ago,
- 40:14Speaker 2: it was thirty thousand BC. So with a net worth
- 40:19Speaker 2: of over a trillion dollars, Musk has more money than
- 40:24Speaker 2: one hundred and ninety seven countries than the domestic product
- 40:27Speaker 2: of one hundred ninety seven countries. There's only twenty one
- 40:30Speaker 2: nations on Earth richer than Elon Musk. Musk could also
- 40:34Speaker 2: think about this. He could purchase every single franchise in
- 40:39Speaker 2: the NFL, Major League Baseball, NHL, and NBA, and ten
- 40:46Speaker 2: of the world's most valuable soccer teams and still have
- 40:50Speaker 2: four hundred billion left a trillionaire. That's a hell of
- 40:55Speaker 2: a lot of money. But Democrats went nuts. Jimmy Kimmel
- 41:02Speaker 2: in absolute rage, foaming at the mouth on TV Friday,
- 41:07Speaker 2: yelling and screaming and lying. Of course, I don't think
- 41:10Speaker 2: he's lying. I think he's just stupid. I just think
- 41:11Speaker 2: he doesn't know. A lot of these people just repeat
- 41:14Speaker 2: things they hear on the left wing media. So he's
- 41:16Speaker 2: yelling and screaming about how Elon Musk paid no taxes,
- 41:20Speaker 2: came here and did nothing but take from this country.
- 41:23Speaker 2: All he did was take. This, of course, is a
- 41:26Speaker 2: total lie. Nobody in the history of America or probably
- 41:29Speaker 2: the world, ever paid more taxes than Elon Musk. He
- 41:34Speaker 2: pays billions and billions. He's the single biggest tax payer
- 41:37Speaker 2: in history. Now, Tesla might not pay tax but Tesla,
- 41:40Speaker 2: believe it or not, doesn't make a profit. You know,
- 41:43Speaker 2: when they said Amazon, why didn't pay any taxes? The
- 41:46Speaker 2: first ten years of Amazon, Why is it paying taxes
- 41:48Speaker 2: because it's losing like one hundred billion a year. The
- 41:51Speaker 2: reason they're losing they keep pumping the money back into
- 41:53Speaker 2: the company. They don't take any of it. They just
- 41:56Speaker 2: pump it back into research development. But Kimmel fuming, Bernie
- 42:01Speaker 2: Sanders yelling, this was a call to action, a call
- 42:05Speaker 2: to action. Just have to stop people from being successful. Now,
- 42:10Speaker 2: remember when Elon put that stock out, he becomes a trillionaire.
- 42:14Speaker 2: But forty five hundred of his employees became millionaires. Forty
- 42:19Speaker 2: five hundred, four hundred of them now worth over one
- 42:22Speaker 2: hundred million. And when I say employees, forty four hundred
- 42:26Speaker 2: became millionaires, if you look at the list, some of
- 42:30Speaker 2: them are, you know, plumbers, electricians. Here's one guy, Trevor Heath.
- 42:36Speaker 2: He was going to take a job at General Electric,
- 42:40Speaker 2: but apparently his parents convinced him to go with Oh no,
- 42:43Speaker 2: his parents wanted him to go to a General Electric.
- 42:45Speaker 2: He wanted to go to SpaceX. His parents said General Electric,
- 42:49Speaker 2: it's more stable, go there, but e didn't listened. He
- 42:52Speaker 2: went to SpaceX stayed there twelve years, which gave him
- 42:56Speaker 2: over one hundred thousand shares. They pay a lot of
- 42:59Speaker 2: the ployees, all these employees in stock among salary. They
- 43:03Speaker 2: also give him stock. So at one hundred thousand a share,
- 43:07Speaker 2: he's now worth seventeen million dollars at in his thirties,
- 43:13Speaker 2: seventeen million. He's now semi retired. This happened to a
- 43:16Speaker 2: lot of guys. There's a plumber there who all of
- 43:18Speaker 2: a sudden ended up with ten million from his stock.
- 43:22Speaker 2: But they were just going crazy. Bernie, it's a call
- 43:25Speaker 2: to action, AOC. Elon Musker is not a scientist, he's
- 43:31Speaker 2: not an engineer. He's a billionaire con man with a
- 43:33Speaker 2: lot of money. None of this is true. This is
- 43:35Speaker 2: actually insane, this kind of talk. Paul Krugman, you remember
- 43:39Speaker 2: that bug eyed, weird looking with the crazy eyes, that
- 43:43Speaker 2: New York Times economists who was always wrong about everything.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Anytime he predicted a collapse the stock market would boom.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Anytime he predicted a boom that would collapse, always wrong
- 43:53Speaker 2: every time. Paul Krugman said, this shows it's a rig
- 43:57Speaker 2: system that Elon Musk would become a trillionaire. He called
- 44:03Speaker 2: SpaceX a Ponzi scheme. This is insane. CNN and ms
- 44:09Speaker 2: NOW pundits called Musk a white supremacist. Actually, one of
- 44:16Speaker 2: them was on with Scott Jennings yelling that Musk is
- 44:21Speaker 2: a white supremacist. So Jennings said, you might want to
- 44:24Speaker 2: hire a lawyer right now. You might need a lawyer
- 44:27Speaker 2: for that comment. But he's a guy who came to
- 44:32Speaker 2: America with nothing, just a backpack. He and his brother
- 44:37Speaker 2: started a little company called Zip two. I don't know
- 44:39Speaker 2: what the hell did, but four years later he sold
- 44:43Speaker 2: zip two for three hundred million dollars. I mean, the
- 44:46Speaker 2: guy's a genius. He's a genius. A little, young, little
- 44:50Speaker 2: guy sells his company for three hundred million. Then he
- 44:53Speaker 2: started a company. He co founded a company called PayPal.
- 44:58Speaker 2: PayPal revolutionized digital payments. He later sold PayPal to eBay
- 45:03Speaker 2: for one point five billion. Took all that money and
- 45:07Speaker 2: bet everything on Tesla and SpaceX. Now, the guys had
- 45:11Speaker 2: a bunch of failures. You know, you got to remember
- 45:13Speaker 2: every great, great success, Steve Jobs, everybody, every great company's
- 45:18Speaker 2: had massive failures. That's how you learn, that's how you
- 45:21Speaker 2: do stuff. You know, you do one hundred things, five
- 45:24Speaker 2: to ten of them absolute failures. Same thing with Trump
- 45:28Speaker 2: guys had I think it's one hundred and seventy two companies.
- 45:31Speaker 2: You know, each project's a separate company. Four of them
- 45:34Speaker 2: went bankrupt was it was all Atlantic City, which is
- 45:37Speaker 2: a very low record for bankruptcy. Most companies Apple's had
- 45:41Speaker 2: more bankruptcies.
- 45:43Speaker 3: Google.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Google had one of the biggest bankruptcies in history. Remember
- 45:45Speaker 2: the Google glasses. That was like a twelve billion dollar
- 45:48Speaker 2: loss right there. That one thing. But Musk was an
- 45:53Speaker 2: incredible worker. He worked insane hours. He slept on factory floors,
- 45:58Speaker 2: office floors. I was constantly told everything he was doing
- 46:02Speaker 2: was impossible. But he not only changed the world, he
- 46:05Speaker 2: saved lives. He invented unbelievable stuff whatever that thing he
- 46:11Speaker 2: invented for people that are paralyzed so they can do stuff,
- 46:15Speaker 2: change their lives. Starlink has saved lives all over the world.
- 46:19Speaker 2: That's used in war zones. Ukraine used it to survive.
- 46:23Speaker 2: She used all over the place. But Democrats hate this guy.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Here's Liz Warren. You see it's up on her Actually
- 46:30Speaker 2: you can go to my Twitter you can see it.
- 46:33Speaker 2: It's Liz Warren calling a Musk a freeloader, denouncing him.
- 46:40Speaker 2: But she's recording it in the back of her lemo
- 46:43Speaker 2: while the chauffeur is driving. If you're on my Twitter.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Also look at that video for her getting off her
- 46:48Speaker 2: private jet. We know how Elon Musk made all this money.
- 46:53Speaker 2: As we said earlier, how did Elizabeth Warren become a
- 46:57Speaker 2: multi millionaire. She's a multimillionaire on a government salary. Could
- 47:01Speaker 2: she explain that? I remember, Musk is the biggest single
- 47:07Speaker 2: taxpayer in history, and her salary, every cent of it
- 47:10Speaker 2: forever paid for by taxpayers. As Musk said, if you
- 47:16Speaker 2: could die from irony, she'd be dead already. So unbelievable. Now, Democrats,
- 47:25Speaker 2: we'll back anybody, anybody. They don't care who it is.
- 47:29Speaker 2: They're not about character or any of that. The backing
- 47:32Speaker 2: Graham Plattner, who's got a giant Nazi tattoo right in
- 47:37Speaker 2: the middle of his chest. He's got incredible track record
- 47:42Speaker 2: of terrible behavior with women, cheating on everybody, sexting and
- 47:47Speaker 2: texting with all kinds of women. The only Democrat who'll
- 47:50Speaker 2: be honest is Fatterman.
- 47:52Speaker 6: This is a guy that's been dropping picks on Kick
- 47:54Speaker 6: for a decade. You know, and now you're you know
- 47:57Speaker 6: you're a journalist. You all know what Kick is for,
- 48:00Speaker 6: and you know they have six significant problems about being
- 48:03Speaker 6: you know, the predator's predator's playground for there. You know,
- 48:07Speaker 6: why can't someone perhaps you ask him, why did you
- 48:10Speaker 6: choose Kick of all the different apps?
- 48:12Speaker 2: Yeah, apparently it's an app where you meet very young women.
- 48:16Speaker 2: But Democrats don't care. Now listen to Hakim Jeffries, not
- 48:20Speaker 2: the brightest guy in the world. But they asked him,
- 48:24Speaker 2: will he'll support Platner? He was a little evasive.
- 48:27Speaker 8: Does Grand Platner have the character to be a US
- 48:29Speaker 8: Senator leader?
- 48:30Speaker 5: Jeffries?
- 48:32Speaker 2: Well, first of all, I thought you were going to say,
- 48:33Speaker 2: the big news of the week is the Knicks winning
- 48:36Speaker 2: the NBA champions You're going to get to that too,
- 48:38Speaker 2: first time in fifty three years. Yeah, but he kept
- 48:43Speaker 2: ducking the question. This morning, he appears on Good Day
- 48:45Speaker 2: in New York wearing a Nick's hat and a T
- 48:48Speaker 2: shirt and that cheap plant, pandering, hustling politician. Hey, when
- 48:56Speaker 2: we come back, Oh, by the way, Scott Shannon will
- 48:59Speaker 2: be with us little this hour, the great Scott Channon.
- 49:01Speaker 2: We'll talk to him about the Knicks and other stuff
- 49:04Speaker 2: coming up, but we'll take some calls next eight hundred
- 49:07Speaker 2: three two one zero seven ten is the number eight
- 49:10Speaker 2: hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 49:14Speaker 3: You're listening to Mark. Well, let's take some calls.
- 49:22Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the
- 49:26Speaker 2: number eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. Let's
- 49:30Speaker 2: go to uh Phil in Suffolk County, Phil, How you doing.
- 49:35Speaker 10: Hello?
- 49:36Speaker 12: Mark?
- 49:36Speaker 7: Yes, Phil, Anthony jury the black boy that was convicted
- 49:42Speaker 7: of murder had three non white jurors, a black perspective jura.
- 49:48Speaker 12: Think you're a.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Little too concerned about the black and white? What is
- 49:51Speaker 2: all the.
- 49:52Speaker 7: Well, yes, I know, Well that's the race hustle, is
- 49:54Speaker 7: a concern that there were no there were no blacks
- 49:57Speaker 7: on the jury. There was a black perspective juror who said,
- 50:00Speaker 7: I could never send a brother to jail. So what
- 50:04Speaker 7: do these race hustlers want? Do they want jury nullification
- 50:08Speaker 7: for someone who's still.
- 50:12Speaker 2: What are you talking about? I mean, everybody goes into
- 50:15Speaker 2: court has a lawyer. The lawyer picks the jury. His
- 50:18Speaker 2: defense lawyer decided, you know you can, you can pick
- 50:21Speaker 2: people and reject people from the jury.
- 50:24Speaker 7: Of course, Mark, I'm not complaining.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Where are you in Suffolk County?
- 50:28Speaker 7: What excuse me?
- 50:29Speaker 2: Where are you in Suffolk County, New York? Northport. All right,
- 50:34Speaker 2: that airs a little thin there. I think it's all
- 50:40Speaker 2: right now. Northport's very wonderful. Northport is beautiful. Don't try
- 50:44Speaker 2: to park there because there's not parking spaces anywhere, but
- 50:46Speaker 2: its very beautiful. Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike,
- 50:52Speaker 2: how you doing? Wait a minute, there you are?
- 50:58Speaker 9: We got yes, Mike, your earlier callers mentioned and it
- 51:03Speaker 9: got me.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Oh wait it call us right back. Your line is
- 51:08Speaker 2: all messed. It's not your fault. Call us right back.
- 51:12Speaker 11: Here.
- 51:13Speaker 2: He sounds like sped up, like a chipmunk. I don't
- 51:15Speaker 2: know what exactly do they see? We don't have actual
- 51:18Speaker 2: phones anymore. There's no actual phone. I mean, here's a
- 51:22Speaker 2: This looks like a telephone, but everything in it is digital,
- 51:27Speaker 2: and our phone calls are actually running through an Amazon cloud.
- 51:31Speaker 2: I have no idea how this works. Uh, And as
- 51:34Speaker 2: you can hear, it doesn't always work, but so you
- 51:38Speaker 2: get sometimes this weird distortion, and then sometimes it just
- 51:42Speaker 2: speeds up people. I don't know why it doesn't. Oh,
- 51:44Speaker 2: we got Mike back. Let's try it again. Mike are
- 51:46Speaker 2: you there? Oh good? Now you sound like yourself much better?
- 51:52Speaker 9: Okay, good like I don't sound like an alien planet.
- 51:55Speaker 2: X you sound like a chipmunk.
- 51:58Speaker 5: Yes, exactly with Dave's hill one, I.
- 52:00Speaker 3: Need them there you go.
- 52:05Speaker 9: So one of your earlier colas mentioned cats is up
- 52:07Speaker 9: in Connecticut, and one opened up in Connecticut, and it
- 52:09Speaker 9: got me homesick for the cats is.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Down on Yeah.
- 52:15Speaker 2: Okay, but wait a minute, he's implying the real kats
- 52:18Speaker 2: is Delhi from Manhattan, open to Connecticut. I don't think
- 52:22Speaker 2: that's the case. There's something called cats.
- 52:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't think so either. Yeah, although I heard.
- 52:28Speaker 9: They had taken their they're going on a road show
- 52:30Speaker 9: and they're going somewhere like Milwaukee or someplace still.
- 52:33Speaker 5: Yeah, for like some food convention or something.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a food convention. But Katsus is merely doing
- 52:39Speaker 2: a pop up, you know where They opened for a
- 52:41Speaker 2: day or two.
- 52:42Speaker 9: Yes, but it got me, got me homesick for them,
- 52:46Speaker 9: and I was wondering if you had.
- 52:47Speaker 5: A favorite I used to go when I worked at
- 52:49Speaker 5: Channel eleven.
- 52:50Speaker 9: I would go over to Sarges once in a while.
- 52:52Speaker 9: They were Okay, it wasn't Katses, and certainly wasn't kats
- 52:55Speaker 9: As to draw me, But do you have a particular
- 52:58Speaker 9: one that.
- 52:58Speaker 3: You very good.
- 53:00Speaker 2: And out of all the legendary delis, it's the only
- 53:02Speaker 2: one that's still there. It's on the third alp. Was
- 53:05Speaker 2: it third and thirty four thirty sixth Yes, and they
- 53:09Speaker 2: still have the sandwich that's like a foot high. The
- 53:11Speaker 2: greatest of all, of course, was the Carnegie Deli in
- 53:13Speaker 2: its heyday, because it was not an incredible deli, but
- 53:17Speaker 2: late at night that's where everybody would gather, all the comedians, everybody,
- 53:22Speaker 2: and we I'd sit there with them for hours. The
- 53:24Speaker 2: great whoever was in town appearing wherever, would show up
- 53:27Speaker 2: at the Carnegie Delly around eleven or twelve at night.
- 53:30Speaker 2: If you go back and watch the Woody Allen movie
- 53:32Speaker 2: Broadway Danny Rose, Yes, they show that in the movie.
- 53:36Speaker 9: But I remember being in the Conggi one day and
- 53:39Speaker 9: it was a table of Japanese tourists and they ordered
- 53:41Speaker 9: one of the like the you know, the biggest sandwich
- 53:44Speaker 9: they came.
- 53:44Speaker 5: They would they went crazy.
- 53:46Speaker 9: It was the most exciting thing to watch them go
- 53:48Speaker 9: completely nuts over the sandwich at the Carnegie.
- 53:52Speaker 2: Yeah. No, And people say, why in the Carnegie or
- 53:56Speaker 2: a Sarges or any why did they make the sandwich
- 53:58Speaker 2: a foot high. Why did they put some nobody could
- 54:00Speaker 2: eat that? And Leo, the great owner of the Carnegie,
- 54:04Speaker 2: explained to me one day, you can charge like double
- 54:07Speaker 2: or triple. Nobody can complain because you're giving them their
- 54:09Speaker 2: money's worth if they can't eat it.
- 54:14Speaker 5: Exactly, But sawny sandwich.
- 54:16Speaker 9: Last time I was at Cates, that's eight years ago,
- 54:19Speaker 9: ten years ago, it was like twenty bucks or something.
- 54:21Speaker 5: Twenty four bucks was rammy sound.
- 54:23Speaker 2: Yeah, well, cat just doesn't make it ridiculously big. But
- 54:25Speaker 2: the Carnegie even starges it's really big. But it's like
- 54:28Speaker 2: they could charge it for two sandwiches even though you're
- 54:30Speaker 2: only eating one. But a great point, Mike, you wait
- 54:34Speaker 2: a minute, we lost him. Sorry about that. Let's go
- 54:37Speaker 2: to Richard and Bay Shore. Richard, how you.
- 54:39Speaker 12: Doing very well? Good morning, Mark.
- 54:42Speaker 4: This is them across keep telling us, telling us they're
- 54:44Speaker 4: going to pack the court and then the filibuster.
- 54:47Speaker 12: If we get a nice majority in both houses.
- 54:49Speaker 4: Why don't we pack the court? They're gonna do it anyway.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, we don't do stuff like that, I say.
- 54:54Speaker 2: We Republicans don't do stuff. Yeah, Republicans don't do stuff
- 54:59Speaker 2: like Remember for many of these Republicans, they're like country
- 55:04Speaker 2: club types. It's just government, you know. For Democrats, it's
- 55:08Speaker 2: like warfare. This is like their religion. This is like
- 55:11Speaker 2: twenty four to seven. They'll do That's why they'll do anything.
- 55:13Speaker 2: They're crazy. It's like a crusade for them. Traditionally, Republicans
- 55:18Speaker 2: are kind of like, you know, like the bushes. They'll
- 55:21Speaker 2: show for a few hours during the day, then it's
- 55:23Speaker 2: back to the bar again. And most Republicans are more
- 55:28Speaker 2: private sector oriented. They don't worry about transforming. But Democrats
- 55:32Speaker 2: government is their whole life. Hey, when we come back,
- 55:36Speaker 2: the legend the greatest living radio DJ ever Scott Shannon,
- 55:41Speaker 2: we'll talk to him about the Nicks and all sorts
- 55:43Speaker 2: of stuff coming up next on seven to ten WR.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Mark Simone Show.
- 55:50Speaker 1: Live from the WR Life Back studios.
- 55:55Speaker 2: Well, we now turn to the Joe DiMaggio Radio the
- 56:00Speaker 2: greatest Living DJ, the legend himself him laughing. All right,
- 56:05Speaker 2: nobody's laughing. Scott Shannon, you are the greatest living news.
- 56:08Speaker 12: Yeah, it just sounds crazy. I'm living. I got that,
- 56:14Speaker 12: that's true. I got that going. Yeah what a week huh.
- 56:19Speaker 2: Yeah, So it's too much, too many things going on
- 56:22Speaker 2: in New York. But you know I was empty.
- 56:25Speaker 12: Yeah, go ahead.
- 56:26Speaker 2: I was never a basketball fan. I don't think I
- 56:28Speaker 2: ever watched a basketball game in my life. But I
- 56:30Speaker 2: got hooked on the Knicks. I'm watching every minute of
- 56:33Speaker 2: the game.
- 56:34Speaker 12: It s a little late getting on the train, I guess, yeah,
- 56:40Speaker 12: the train left the station and you're hanging on the kaboos.
- 56:46Speaker 2: I'm sure I'm not the only one who wasn't really a.
- 56:49Speaker 12: Basketball there there were. There were plenty of new fans,
- 56:53Speaker 12: believe me. Fifty three years went to eleven presidents, the internet, smartphones,
- 57:00Speaker 12: and finally the Knicks are on top again.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Do you know the last time they won to last
- 57:07Speaker 2: time they won the championship, the number one record was
- 57:09Speaker 2: tie a yellow ribbon around the old oak tree.
- 57:12Speaker 12: That's correct, that it is correct. You know, it's kind
- 57:16Speaker 12: of weird too, because it's the wedding season right now,
- 57:21Speaker 12: and every Saturday all around the country there are weddings planned.
- 57:28Speaker 12: When people and all the fans, you know, all the
- 57:33Speaker 12: Knicks fans, when it came time to wait a minute,
- 57:37Speaker 12: we got to go to that wedding, Holy crap, And
- 57:41Speaker 12: we were Patricia and I were like that so a
- 57:45Speaker 12: friend of ours, one of the marraw Boys, Steve and
- 57:49Speaker 12: his wonderful wife Nancy. They've got six kids, good Catholics,
- 57:55Speaker 12: and they're five of them are girls. So he spent
- 57:59Speaker 12: a lot of money on the weddings. This was his
- 58:01Speaker 12: last one. Cassidy is their name, and it was at
- 58:05Speaker 12: the St. Saint Regi's ballroom. You ever been in that hotel?
- 58:09Speaker 2: Yes, right over there, block away.
- 58:11Speaker 12: So I'm sitting there, I'm thinking, what the hell am
- 58:16Speaker 12: I going to do it? And I called the bar.
- 58:19Speaker 12: There's a little I got a nice bar there, the
- 58:22Speaker 12: King this cold Yeah, so I called. I said, you
- 58:27Speaker 12: guys are going to any TV's ready to go for
- 58:29Speaker 12: the game goes, So we don't have televisions in the
- 58:33Speaker 12: King cold bar. Thank you for calling.
- 58:38Speaker 2: So wait, it's twenty twenty six. You can watch on
- 58:42Speaker 2: your phone.
- 58:44Speaker 12: Yeah, I know, but that looks a little rude, I wanted.
- 58:48Speaker 12: So when I got there, I saw Steve and I said,
- 58:53Speaker 12: they're going to be offensive if I my phone. He said,
- 58:56Speaker 12: you're not gonna have to worry about that, man, I
- 58:58Speaker 12: got you taken care of. He had made arrangements to
- 59:02Speaker 12: have two big screen TVs, put one on eat one
- 59:06Speaker 12: on each side of the bar for the up in
- 59:09Speaker 12: the ballroom. So excellent worked out her. But the problem
- 59:13Speaker 12: there was one other problem though they had. I didn't
- 59:15Speaker 12: go to the postgame party. Uh, they have those alleys,
- 59:19Speaker 12: they have these extra parties. But there were a lot
- 59:22Speaker 12: of people from different places around the country that came
- 59:25Speaker 12: in for for the groom. Max and Cassidy rely both
- 59:30Speaker 12: of the school and all that. But the problem is
- 59:34Speaker 12: a lot of these people were they had to go
- 59:36Speaker 12: to the postgame party and then they had to go
- 59:39Speaker 12: to their hotel. But the problem is, if you recall
- 59:43Speaker 12: what was going on in the streets, in the streets
- 59:46Speaker 12: of New York, these poor people, one couple from Minnesota
- 59:51Speaker 12: were going to be all right. I said, well, if
- 59:53Speaker 12: you don't mind seeing school buses go up and play it,
- 59:57Speaker 12: you don't have a good time.
- 59:59Speaker 2: Well and uh, hey, what about that the World Cup
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: FIFA that I can't get into. I can't watch that.
- 1:00:05Speaker 12: I got nothing on that.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: But I don't know. It's like Paraguay versus Uruguay. Who
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: am I supposed to root for?
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: What are you?
- 1:00:16Speaker 12: Are you going to attend the parade? Are you're going
- 1:00:19Speaker 12: to be you know you're going to be on the air.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: Luckily, I'll be on the air. No, I'd never been
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: to the Canyon of Heroes. You've probably been in one
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: of those parades.
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: No, I never have.
- 1:00:28Speaker 12: I've seen them. I'm watching them on TV. But it's
- 1:00:31Speaker 12: it's going to be they say it's going to be
- 1:00:33Speaker 12: the biggest ticker tape parade ever.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, there's.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: Actually no such thing as ticker tape anybody. They don't
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: have stock tickets, so they have to buy this fake
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: ticker tape and throw it. But it's now metallic and
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: the glitters. It looks much better.
- 1:00:49Speaker 12: Now. Do you ever look back? You ever look back
- 1:00:51Speaker 12: at all the different events that were covered, I mean
- 1:00:55Speaker 12: echoes way back a long time ago. Yeah, you know,
- 1:01:00Speaker 12: I wanted to mention something else too, and this has
- 1:01:03Speaker 12: kind of got, uh, I don't know, swept under the rug.
- 1:01:07Speaker 12: The Songwriters Hall of Fame was what last Thursday at
- 1:01:14Speaker 12: Marriott Marquis and uh, our pal Taylor Swift became the
- 1:01:20Speaker 12: youngest woman to ever get inducted into the Songwriters Hall
- 1:01:24Speaker 12: of Fame.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's usually Gershwin Cole Porter like people
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: like that are in there. But yeah, and the other
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: the first time you met Taylor Swift.
- 1:01:35Speaker 12: She had a country song out called Tim McGraw and
- 1:01:42Speaker 12: I was working at p l J and her father
- 1:01:45Speaker 12: and the local record A local record rep called me
- 1:01:52Speaker 12: at the at the a PLJ and said, would you
- 1:01:56Speaker 12: mind if we have a new artist? Can we just
- 1:01:57Speaker 12: bring her by it? And you know, I'm pres so
- 1:02:00Speaker 12: that I know Scott Channing, I know the guy that's
- 1:02:04Speaker 12: on the air in New York. And I said, yeah, yeah,
- 1:02:07Speaker 12: I have to put her on the air, do we?
- 1:02:10Speaker 12: And I swear to god, the dad came in really
- 1:02:15Speaker 12: nice guys, she was sweet, and they were in the
- 1:02:17Speaker 12: control room and just sitting there talking. I said, well,
- 1:02:23Speaker 12: did you bring a record just so I can hear
- 1:02:25Speaker 12: what you sound like? Oh? Yeah, I got it. My
- 1:02:28Speaker 12: dad's got it. So I played it in cute not
- 1:02:31Speaker 12: on the air. I said, that's that's pretty good, that's
- 1:02:35Speaker 12: nice and so and she left the room to make
- 1:02:38Speaker 12: a call or something, and I asked her dad. I said,
- 1:02:41Speaker 12: is it okay to play this if I want to
- 1:02:43Speaker 12: on the air? Oh? Yeah, yeah. So we we played
- 1:02:47Speaker 12: it one time. She came running back down the hall.
- 1:02:51Speaker 12: You know that's on the air.
- 1:02:54Speaker 10: That's my songs.
- 1:02:56Speaker 12: Did you mean to play it. So she gave me
- 1:02:59Speaker 12: a pig and uh that's how. That's how I got
- 1:03:03Speaker 12: so because nobody, no Top forty stations were playing in
- 1:03:06Speaker 12: that song, and it was just it was just fun.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Another career you launched. Wow, well I was not.
- 1:03:14Speaker 12: She would have made it without me. I don't worry about.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: That, you know.
- 1:03:18Speaker 12: You know what's so funny is her? You ever know
- 1:03:21Speaker 12: she shows up but all the big events, Yeah, she
- 1:03:26Speaker 12: she I don't think she was a fan of the
- 1:03:30Speaker 12: Knicks before. I never heard that. And then she had
- 1:03:33Speaker 12: her posse you see that old thing she had had
- 1:03:38Speaker 12: the T shirts.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: Well, she's a brilliant marketer. I knows where to go,
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: where to show up at just the right moments.
- 1:03:46Speaker 12: She had the T shirts and said Stevie Nicks like okay,
- 1:03:50Speaker 12: you know, and uh, I don't know how she got
- 1:03:54Speaker 12: to be she's I don't know, she's with the LA
- 1:03:58Speaker 12: and the.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Law and Order girl now yeah.
- 1:04:03Speaker 12: Yeah they're buddies now, you know, yeah you do you
- 1:04:07Speaker 12: funny thing. But do you know how that got started?
- 1:04:13Speaker 12: Taylor named her cat after her character on Law and Order. Yeah,
- 1:04:21Speaker 12: that's the deal. That's her name on TV. And uh,
- 1:04:26Speaker 12: and that's the name of her cat and Olivia Benson.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: I think if I get a cat, I could name
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: it Lenny Briscoe after the Jerry or Beck.
- 1:04:34Speaker 12: Yeah, yes, that'd be great. And do you think about it? Second,
- 1:04:41Speaker 12: Steven Spielberg introduced her at that at that big award ceremony.
- 1:04:46Speaker 12: It was fine.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: Hey, Scott Channon, there's the Barrett Media Summit. That's a
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: big event every year in New York. Uh throw. Barrett
