- 0:08Speaker 1: Hey, babes, it's La lat Kent with Ran. I'm excited
- 0:12Speaker 1: for today. I'm always excited for this day. I literally
- 0:16Speaker 1: start every podcast by saying I'm excited.
- 0:18Speaker 2: If we went back on the last sixty five to
- 0:21Speaker 2: seventy podcasts, you say you're excited, but that's it.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Would be like Groundhog's Day if you listen to just
- 0:25Speaker 1: the beginning of the podcast.
- 0:27Speaker 2: But if you weren't excited, then we shouldn't be doing
- 0:29Speaker 2: the podcast. So I'm glad you're excited.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I am because I discovered a new show. It's new
- 0:35Speaker 1: for me at least. It is called The Big Shot
- 0:39Speaker 1: with Bethany Bethany Frankel.
- 0:41Speaker 2: This is on a network that I assume is the
- 0:45Speaker 2: home base for your show.
- 0:46Speaker 1: No, it's actually on HBO Max. Oh see, I ventured.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I ventured outside of my comfort zone.
- 0:52Speaker 2: So you left Bravo and E and found another channel
- 0:55Speaker 2: that has more reality themed projects.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I never watch em That's what show do I watch?
- 1:04Speaker 1: That tunny?
- 1:04Speaker 2: You used to watch Kardashians.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I've never finished an episode of Kardashians.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Oh my god, I actually.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Pride myself on that.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I'm want to let this go.
- 1:12Speaker 1: You should, because you're gonna lose. Okay, Well, I back
- 1:15Speaker 1: to HBO Max, so I discover this show. It's it's
- 1:23Speaker 1: a reality show, but it's competition based, which I like
- 1:27Speaker 1: reality shows that have a the the competition factor because
- 1:32Speaker 1: it just adds something like the steaks are really high, like, oh,
- 1:35Speaker 1: oh my gosh, who's gonna win. So today we have
- 1:40Speaker 1: Nicole Rose, who was competing to be Bethany Frankel's vice president.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Okay, don't tell me if she want or not, because
- 1:47Speaker 2: I want to ask her. But I assume she did
- 1:49Speaker 2: really well because she wouldn't be on our show.
- 1:51Speaker 1: She did do well, and I was actually shocked by that.
- 1:54Speaker 2: With your shock she did well?
- 1:56Speaker 1: Yeah, because when you watch the show Bethany, Bethany has
- 2:00Speaker 1: a strong reaction to Nicole. And I'm telling you, Nicole
- 2:02Speaker 1: like she kept her shit together the entire time, and
- 2:06Speaker 1: she was very like her bounce back was great, you know,
- 2:10Speaker 1: like she'd get in trouble and then she'd bounce back
- 2:12Speaker 1: real quick.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Oh really really?
- 2:14Speaker 1: She also made for great television, Oh she did. She did.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So for those of you who don't know what the
- 2:22Speaker 1: show is the big shot with Bethany and those of
- 2:25Speaker 1: you who aren't familiar with Nicole Rose. She started off
- 2:29Speaker 1: as a DJ. She's gonna go when we have her on,
- 2:32Speaker 1: go into like her background and how she came to
- 2:35Speaker 1: be you know Nicole Rose. But the show is basically
- 2:38Speaker 1: Bethany Frankel bringing in a bunch of people to figure
- 2:42Speaker 1: out who is the best fit to basically be her
- 2:46Speaker 1: right hand man or woman.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Oh I like that. That's a really cool idea.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Is It's a great idea. So that's our guest for today.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Okay, do you know her at all before this?
- 2:57Speaker 1: No? I just watched the show and was like, oh
- 2:59Speaker 1: my god, you have to get her on the podcast
- 3:01Speaker 1: because I have to pick her brain. Oh I love
- 3:03Speaker 1: that all of it.
- 3:04Speaker 2: And she's like an entrepreneur, it seems, which is like
- 3:06Speaker 2: kind of the theme right now we're on you know,
- 3:08Speaker 2: badass entrepreneurs.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Well, I think a lot of people in this day
- 3:11Speaker 1: and age are like, fuck this, I'm going to go
- 3:13Speaker 1: do something I love and why the hell not?
- 3:17Speaker 2: And also I think, you know, the pandemic has kind
- 3:20Speaker 2: of probably reignited a lot of people's flames to say, hey,
- 3:23Speaker 2: you know what if I was doing something I was
- 3:24Speaker 2: really miserable doing, maybe time is so short and limited,
- 3:28Speaker 2: and they've seen this by the world that we're in
- 3:30Speaker 2: right now, probably a lot of people are pivoting to
- 3:33Speaker 2: find their passion again. So now I'm not saying she,
- 3:37Speaker 2: but I'm saying I bet a lot of people have had.
- 3:39Speaker 1: You mean, like, there was a lot of downtime for
- 3:41Speaker 1: people to reflect.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Correct And I think and I think in reflection, you know,
- 3:45Speaker 2: really reflect. Even myself I was reflecting, but because we're
- 3:49Speaker 2: in such a dark time. But but I think that,
- 3:52Speaker 2: you know, I think a lot of people are probably
- 3:53Speaker 2: refinding their passion. I think that's exciting. You know, if
- 3:55Speaker 2: anything comes from this tragedy that we've been in was
- 3:59Speaker 2: hopefully you know, kindness and passion.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Did you kind of rEFInd yourself during the pandemic?
- 4:08Speaker 2: No, no, I just know where I am all the time. No, No,
- 4:14Speaker 2: I you know that I had already started on the
- 4:16Speaker 2: journey of directing before the pandemic. But I would say
- 4:19Speaker 2: that what the pandemic allowed me to have time quiet,
- 4:24Speaker 2: time to really kind of be like, I really don't
- 4:27Speaker 2: want to do anything I don't want to do and
- 4:30Speaker 2: because time is so limited and life is so delicate,
- 4:34Speaker 2: and I think that I'm really owning that now if
- 4:38Speaker 2: I want to take a half day off, you know,
- 4:40Speaker 2: because I've been working for twenty five years hardcore seven
- 4:44Speaker 2: days a week, it's okay to come home a little
- 4:46Speaker 2: early and hang out and you know what I mean,
- 4:48Speaker 2: and take some time and not feel all the ankst
- 4:51Speaker 2: and anxiety like I'm doing something wrong by not being
- 4:54Speaker 2: in the office for twelve hours a day. Right, So
- 4:57Speaker 2: I think that's kind of where I'm trying to get
- 5:00Speaker 2: time back, you know what I'm saying, And it's okay
- 5:03Speaker 2: to like take the foot off the throttle sometimes. So
- 5:05Speaker 2: I think that's what the pandemic allowed.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Me to tell I. Yeah, I think for I do agree,
- 5:11Speaker 1: because that's one of our biggest things, is that Randall
- 5:15Speaker 1: For those of you who don't know him personally, the
- 5:18Speaker 1: foot never comes off the gas. It is. We're moving,
- 5:23Speaker 1: We're going. We're doing twenty four to seven, which is
- 5:27Speaker 1: great because I'm the opposite. I'm my foot is on
- 5:30Speaker 1: the break or would like to be on the break.
- 5:32Speaker 1: You know.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Sometimes the key isn't even the ignition.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Well that's how I prefer it.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I was.
- 5:37Speaker 2: As long as the cable bills pay, then you're happy.
- 5:40Speaker 1: As long as I have my Hulu subscription, I'm completely okay.
- 5:45Speaker 1: And for me, for you know, the pandemic and just
- 5:49Speaker 1: the quiet, I have a tendency to let the outside
- 5:54Speaker 1: noise get to me. So when I knew that the
- 5:58Speaker 1: world was shutting down and it's like this was before
- 6:01Speaker 1: zoom or anything like that, I kind of it allowed
- 6:06Speaker 1: me to really have the quiet.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, you were also I think lucky because
- 6:12Speaker 2: you were pregnant in the pandemic, which you know is
- 6:16Speaker 2: even like, in my opinion, just allowed you to First
- 6:20Speaker 2: of all, there was nothing we could do.
- 6:22Speaker 1: No we were four months into the pandemic and I
- 6:24Speaker 1: was then we got the pregnant.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Right, So I'm saying it's like that was great because
- 6:28Speaker 2: the world was quiet, and you were quiet, and you
- 6:31Speaker 2: feel like kind of really comfortable, and you were nesting
- 6:34Speaker 2: to bring ocean into the world. So I think it
- 6:36Speaker 2: was like perfect timing, you know, for you. For me,
- 6:39Speaker 2: I just started directing a movie and changing careers, and.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Then you took on pickleball. You found a new passion.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Then I became a world champion of the fifty year
- 6:48Speaker 2: old division.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Yes, and during this pandemic, we were planning on going
- 6:52Speaker 1: on tour correct, it didn't happen. But now we are
- 6:56Speaker 1: excited to say we are back. Give Lala with Randall
- 7:01Speaker 1: is going on tour, yes, and I'm I'm super excited
- 7:06Speaker 1: about the toys.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Oh my.
- 7:07Speaker 1: So everybody go to what Laala go to give them
- 7:12Speaker 1: live dot com. We are kicking the tour off on
- 7:15Speaker 1: November thirtieth in Dallas, Texas. December one, Austin, December two,
- 7:19Speaker 1: Houston December third, New Orleans December fifth, Fort Lauderdale December sixth,
- 7:24Speaker 1: Clearwater December eighth, Orlando, and we are closing it out
- 7:28Speaker 1: on December ninth in Hotlanta.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And by the way, if she said Clearwater, like all
- 7:33Speaker 2: of you are supposed to know, that is in Florida,
- 7:35Speaker 2: just in case. But I do want to say some
- 7:38Speaker 2: of these cities, it's filling up pretty quick and we're
- 7:40Speaker 2: getting closed to capacity.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I didn't realize how many people were going to be
- 7:43Speaker 1: into the VIP.
- 7:44Speaker 2: We sold out on two of those three of those cities.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I think already we opened up a few more seats.
- 7:49Speaker 2: So I'm just saying, everybody, buy your tickets. If you
- 7:52Speaker 2: really want to come, we want to see you. It's
- 7:54Speaker 2: going to be the most fun ever We're just gonna
- 7:56Speaker 2: go off. I'm gonna make Laala sit in the audience
- 7:58Speaker 2: the whole time, fuck with you all. She's not even
- 8:01Speaker 2: a lot on the stage. That's the show, guys. People
- 8:03Speaker 2: are gonna ask you what the show is. I'm gonna
- 8:05Speaker 2: tell you right now, it's a secret. Lala will be
- 8:07Speaker 2: sitting in the audience watching rand talk over her the
- 8:11Speaker 2: whole time. That is the show. Thank you. And by
- 8:15Speaker 2: the way, as Lala says, you're.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Welcome, oh my gosh, that's so funny.
- 8:19Speaker 2: That's not really the show. Lala is gonna be running
- 8:21Speaker 2: the show. But anyway, My point is Lala wants to
- 8:24Speaker 2: make it super interactive and she's going to be really
- 8:26Speaker 2: fucking with you guys the whole time, and it's going
- 8:28Speaker 2: to be a lot of audience participation. We are going
- 8:31Speaker 2: to have a lot of special guests, and we're just excited.
- 8:34Speaker 2: We have Jax, we have Brittany, we have James Kennedy,
- 8:37Speaker 2: we have Raquel, we have Hannah from Bachelor.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Hannah Godwin.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I mean, this is just gonna be a vice fucking
- 8:44Speaker 2: filled with action.
- 8:45Speaker 1: We're gonna give them Lala with Randall.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and we're gonna give them Lala more than Randall.
- 8:49Speaker 2: So you guys get what you want and what you
- 8:51Speaker 2: paid for.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I have a feeling that people are very excited to
- 8:55Speaker 1: see you. So okay, that's what's up again. Go to
- 8:58Speaker 1: give them live dot com for your tickets. So before
- 9:02Speaker 1: we take a quick break, I have a couple of voicemails.
- 9:06Speaker 1: If you guys do not know, yes, we answer your voicemails,
- 9:10Speaker 1: so you can call us and ask us whatever you
- 9:12Speaker 1: want at one eight six six La La Pod.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Okay, so here's our first question.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Our first question is, hey, Lala and Randall.
- 9:22Speaker 4: It smartie from Orange Crowning.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Why do we not have any Lalla and Randall tour
- 9:26Speaker 3: ticket dates for Los Angeles or.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Orange County or San Diego anything you're missing out on
- 9:31Speaker 4: the Great West Coast.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Please please please add.
- 9:35Speaker 1: An extra stop.
- 9:36Speaker 3: I would absolutely love to go.
- 9:37Speaker 2: All my friends would go.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Please add an La stop on your tour.
- 9:41Speaker 4: You guys are amazing, Keep up.
- 9:43Speaker 3: The great work. Love your podcast and hope you all
- 9:45Speaker 3: are doing well.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Have a blessed day. I mean I feel like we
- 9:50Speaker 1: this is just like a tour to see if it's poppin'.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Yeah, like this is our first coming out.
- 9:56Speaker 1: It's like the first leg of the tour, right is
- 9:59Speaker 1: that what they call it?
- 10:00Speaker 2: I think this are I think those are like twenty
- 10:02Speaker 2: twenty one tour. And then the idea obviously is if
- 10:06Speaker 2: Lala wants to continue, which I know you will, they're
- 10:11Speaker 2: already talking about a twenty twenty two tour. So, Meredith,
- 10:14Speaker 2: just so you know, they're talking about a twenty twenty
- 10:16Speaker 2: two tour, which, of course we'll start in California. We're
- 10:19Speaker 2: talking about Vegas, We're talking about La Orange County, San Diego,
- 10:22Speaker 2: town Ta, Salt Lake City. People are asking about there
- 10:26Speaker 2: are so many places we would love to go and
- 10:29Speaker 2: hang out and have some fun. So plan on twenty
- 10:32Speaker 2: twenty two you seeing us in California, our home state.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, we're lucky that we're even getting to
- 10:39Speaker 1: do the cities that we're doing because this was not happening, correct.
- 10:43Speaker 2: So the truth is is that because of the world
- 10:45Speaker 2: that we're living in, we're doing a shorter kind of
- 10:49Speaker 2: kick off twenty twenty one tour, and then twenty twenty
- 10:52Speaker 2: two would be the bigger, longer stretch, right.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I mean, if you look, we stay in Texas, then
- 10:55Speaker 1: we venture out to New Orleans, and Florida and then
- 10:58Speaker 1: we hit Georgia.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yeah it's quick. It's literally four states.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Yeah, we we in it and then we out of it.
- 11:05Speaker 2: And by the way, Marath, we would love to get
- 11:07Speaker 2: in our car and drive down to San Diego in
- 11:10Speaker 2: Orange County and do that in three days and see
- 11:13Speaker 2: everybody from kind of the place that we live.
- 11:16Speaker 1: So yeah, but that's the hope. We will be in
- 11:18Speaker 1: all your city soon. All right, let's listen to the
- 11:20Speaker 1: next place.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Mail Tayla and rand Love Love Love the new podcast.
- 11:26Speaker 4: I have a question, what is going on with the
- 11:30Speaker 4: wedding planning. I know since the pandemic, thanks got put
- 11:34Speaker 4: on hold. Then you welcome to your beautiful little bundle
- 11:38Speaker 4: of joy Ocean, who is absolutely gorgeous. And I was
- 11:43Speaker 4: just wondering where you guys lived with the wedding planning.
- 11:46Speaker 4: If you have a new date set, bribe me if
- 11:50Speaker 4: you change that up at all since being on the
- 11:53Speaker 4: show and some of other previous cast members aren't on
- 11:58Speaker 4: the show, just curious as to how that's going. Love
- 12:02Speaker 4: you guys have a great one.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I love someone who takes advantage of the voicemail, who.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Really goes into the like like mean breaks it down.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Yeah, like there's no limit on how many questions, but
- 12:17Speaker 1: ask us twenty in one voicemail, I don't give it. Damn.
- 12:20Speaker 2: That was a solid text. I could say that we
- 12:24Speaker 2: are still planning our wedding. We don't have a date
- 12:27Speaker 2: because we're in a pandemic and the pandemic is unfortunately
- 12:32Speaker 2: thriving again, so we have to wait till all that
- 12:36Speaker 2: settles down and the world is a safe place, and
- 12:38Speaker 2: then then we'll re begin that journey. But for now,
- 12:43Speaker 2: we are just loving ocean and being parents. I think
- 12:47Speaker 2: we're focused on being badass parents.
- 12:52Speaker 1: That's what I'm focused on. Yeah, you know, I mean,
- 12:57Speaker 1: nothing locks you down quicker than a kid, you know.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I mean this morning, this morning's activity was seeing if
- 13:08Speaker 2: ocean can reach the zebra. We put the zebra about
- 13:12Speaker 2: three inches in front of her and we're trying to
- 13:15Speaker 2: get her to crawl to it. So that's the focus
- 13:18Speaker 2: right now.
- 13:19Speaker 1: But she turned five months this week, so I think
- 13:22Speaker 1: she's like really killing it.
- 13:23Speaker 2: I think she's crushing and considering she's super small, you know,
- 13:27Speaker 2: because she came out early.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Oh she's tiny, but.
- 13:30Speaker 2: But she's but she's ready. She's getting at it.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I think she's in the tenth percentile.
- 13:36Speaker 2: She's a little peanut.
- 13:37Speaker 1: She is a peanut to a baby peanut. Yeah, but
- 13:40Speaker 1: you know what, I've in.
- 13:41Speaker 2: A real peanut. She's like half a peanut.
- 13:42Speaker 1: She's so cute. But I heard that they don't start
- 13:45Speaker 1: crawling until like seven months.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah, we're only at five.
- 13:49Speaker 1: We're only at five.
- 13:50Speaker 2: She's trying, she's trying. She wants to.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Yes, And I like to think when we decide to
- 13:58Speaker 1: get married, because it is, you know, a healthy environment.
- 14:01Speaker 1: We don't have to plan around a pandemic, and all
- 14:04Speaker 1: of our guests feel safe that she's going to be walking.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Ocean's going to be break dancing, I know. Can you
- 14:12Speaker 2: imagine her doing the worm down the aisle?
- 14:13Speaker 1: There was this woman rand I posted a video.
- 14:17Speaker 2: You just went right over it.
- 14:18Speaker 1: No, I can picture her doing her little, her little
- 14:22Speaker 1: bald head worming down. There was this woman and she
- 14:28Speaker 1: said in the comments section under my baby that you
- 14:33Speaker 1: and I will never experience blessings until we stop living
- 14:39Speaker 1: in sin and get married. She said that, Yeah, you
- 14:43Speaker 1: want to what I told her?
- 14:44Speaker 2: I don't want to know. I'm scared.
- 14:46Speaker 1: No, it was very very what nice?
- 14:48Speaker 2: Oh you were nice? Yes to her.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I said to her, I said, Alice, I want you
- 14:54Speaker 1: to look at that Alice. Yes, oh boy, I said, Alice,
- 14:57Speaker 1: I want you to look at that face. That is
- 15:00Speaker 1: nothing short of a blessing straight from my God. Your
- 15:05Speaker 1: God seems judgmental and his love seems conditional, so therefore
- 15:10Speaker 1: you can keep him. And what I have to say
- 15:12Speaker 1: to your comment is fuck that by Lalla skin. Yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 1: I told her go by and give them laala skin.
- 15:21Speaker 1: That's what you need to do. Don't worry about my blessing.
- 15:24Speaker 1: I'm looking at them right in front of me. You
- 15:26Speaker 1: don't need to worry about it.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Did you? Did you block her after you said that,
- 15:30Speaker 2: or you let her let because she won't see the comment.
- 15:32Speaker 1: If you blocked her, I didn't feel, honestly like it
- 15:35Speaker 1: wasn't like mean enough for me to block her.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Okay, you also told me back in the day that
- 15:40Speaker 2: you don't block anybody because thank you for following me.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Well, if they comment mean stuff and they're not following me,
- 15:45Speaker 1: then they're a troll and I block them. But if
- 15:47Speaker 1: they're mean to me and they follow me, I'm not
- 15:49Speaker 1: trying to lose a follower over a block. Like if
- 15:53Speaker 1: your day is so boring that you have to come
- 15:56Speaker 1: to my page to tell me that I don't have
- 15:58Speaker 1: any blessings when at my life.
- 16:02Speaker 2: But laala, these are miserable people.
- 16:05Speaker 1: You know what's sad? I mean, well, they don't even
- 16:07Speaker 1: realize that they're miserable.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I know, But why would you wake up go out
- 16:10Speaker 2: of your way to just write something so vicious? Like
- 16:15Speaker 2: do you now angry that person has to be at
- 16:17Speaker 2: their life? So I say, I used to get offended
- 16:21Speaker 2: two but.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Now well it's like, okay, so let me get this straight, Alice.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Oh my god, here we go.
- 16:27Speaker 1: So, Alice, let me get this straight. God is upset
- 16:30Speaker 1: at me for creating a beautiful daughter with my fiance
- 16:33Speaker 1: who we weren't able to get married because of a pandemic.
- 16:36Speaker 1: But he's looking down on you, thinking, yes, write that,
- 16:40Speaker 1: I condone it. What the fuck are you smoking? Alice?
- 16:43Speaker 1: Put down the crack pipe?
- 16:45Speaker 2: All right? I think this episode is going to be
- 16:47Speaker 2: called Alice very good.
- 16:50Speaker 1: How how these people make sense out of their own
- 16:53Speaker 1: fucking fiction is crazy?
- 16:55Speaker 2: Oh my god, you're on one boy, You are really
- 16:58Speaker 2: in it. You want to keep going.
- 16:59Speaker 1: I just think it's like how you could be like,
- 17:01Speaker 1: you know what God doesn't condone this beautiful baby because
- 17:05Speaker 1: it was made out of sin, but he condones me
- 17:08Speaker 1: trolling her.
- 17:10Speaker 2: I think Alice, I think Alice is are you high?
- 17:14Speaker 2: I think Alice probably isn't happy hun and that's the realbum.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Alice needs to get laid.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Okay, she needs.
- 17:21Speaker 1: To have a one night's stand and just like, come
- 17:24Speaker 1: off it already.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Okay, Alice, Alice, Lala has spoken. We're going to leave
- 17:29Speaker 2: it on that.
- 17:30Speaker 1: And with that, Alice, I hope you have a beautiful,
- 17:33Speaker 1: blessed day. Let's take a quick break and we will
- 17:37Speaker 1: be back with Nicole Rose. Hello, my love, it is
- 17:43Speaker 1: Lala Kent's with Rand and we are back. I'm so
- 17:47Speaker 1: excited we have Nicole Rose on the podcast today. Give
- 17:52Speaker 1: her a good clap and Nicole, what's up girl?
- 17:56Speaker 3: Hey girl, how are you?
- 17:58Speaker 1: I'm so good. I have to tell you I binged
- 18:03Speaker 1: Bethany Frankel's show The Big Shot with Bethany. You give
- 18:07Speaker 1: me all the vibes. I'm telling you so honored. I
- 18:13Speaker 1: was like pretty addicted to the show.
- 18:16Speaker 3: I think it was good. I mean, once again, obviously
- 18:19Speaker 3: I am not impartial here, but I think it made
- 18:22Speaker 3: like Bethy and I kind of make some Riven and
- 18:23Speaker 3: TV together.
- 18:24Speaker 1: You made a great TV together, and you know that
- 18:27Speaker 1: that's what it is all about. So I know you
- 18:30Speaker 1: have a lot going on. Besides, you know just that
- 18:34Speaker 1: show you have a mentorship program. Was that something that
- 18:39Speaker 1: you had before you did Bethany's show?
- 18:43Speaker 3: So you know what's funny, it's I think you obviously
- 18:46Speaker 3: know this because you're like a quintessential entrepreneur, right, And
- 18:49Speaker 3: so I think when you when you start building your
- 18:51Speaker 3: own businesses and you leave corporate or whatever kind of
- 18:54Speaker 3: cush your situation that you're living in, you realize that
- 18:57Speaker 3: you need tools. Right, Like, shit gets real sometimes right there,
- 19:03Speaker 3: like bad days in entrepreneurship for television or entertainment, right.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Of course, and then there's break days.
- 19:09Speaker 3: But you need to be able to level yourself out
- 19:11Speaker 3: because that coworker that like saw the same clothes as
- 19:15Speaker 3: you is just not there because you're at your house
- 19:17Speaker 3: grinding by yourself.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:19Speaker 3: So I started building this stuff like about seven years
- 19:23Speaker 3: ago now and then and also around the time when
- 19:26Speaker 3: I lost my father, I was like I need to
- 19:28Speaker 3: be regimented about my mindset and morning routines.
- 19:32Speaker 1: How long ago did you lose your dad.
- 19:34Speaker 3: So that was about six years ago.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Okay, wow, okay, And does it still feel like it
- 19:39Speaker 1: was yesterday?
- 19:41Speaker 3: I that it always does, right. I think you went
- 19:44Speaker 3: through the loss of your father too.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, what is it like three and a half years?
- 19:49Speaker 2: Three? I think you just didn't we just celebrate three years.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I mean it'll be three and a half. Yeah, it
- 19:56Speaker 1: feels like yesterday. You still remember their their faces, what
- 19:59Speaker 1: they smelled like, their hugs.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Was you was your because I was there obviously through
- 20:04Speaker 2: her loss? Was your sudden or was it expected like
- 20:07Speaker 2: sickness like hers was obviously Scott of the Blue.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yes, So it's that that that's a different situation, right,
- 20:15Speaker 3: And I my heart goes out to you for that,
- 20:17Speaker 3: because I think that may be a little bit more
- 20:19Speaker 3: challenging for me. I'm not going to be like it
- 20:22Speaker 3: was easy. But I knew from the time that I
- 20:25Speaker 3: was eleven that he was battling cancer. I wrote cancer
- 20:29Speaker 3: and so but you know, like you really appreciate, like
- 20:32Speaker 3: I really appreciated the time that I had with him
- 20:34Speaker 3: because ever since I was a little kid, you know,
- 20:37Speaker 3: I didn't know how much longer we would have, right,
- 20:40Speaker 3: So you know, it made me super invested in wanting
- 20:43Speaker 3: to go on trips with him, and you know, most
- 20:45Speaker 3: kids were like hang out with their friends, and I
- 20:47Speaker 3: was like, my dad wants to hang out with me.
- 20:48Speaker 3: I was like, you guys, mom, like my dad's cool.
- 20:52Speaker 3: I'm doing that tonight.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Because I love that. You know, it's it's it's you
- 20:56Speaker 2: are right, And I'm somebody who's who's both my parents
- 20:59Speaker 2: still there in their set, And I'm very blessed because
- 21:01Speaker 2: I'm fifty. But you know, with her seeing friends of mine,
- 21:05Speaker 2: of a lot of my friends have lost their parents
- 21:07Speaker 2: in my age group now back in the day, and
- 21:11Speaker 2: I feel that I agree with you. It's never easy
- 21:14Speaker 2: watching anybody I know lose a parent, and I know
- 21:17Speaker 2: I'm gonna lose my parents and et cetera. But watching
- 21:20Speaker 2: her lose a parent suddenly, I think is catastrophic. And
- 21:25Speaker 2: it's catastrophic losing any parent. But like you said, you
- 21:28Speaker 2: knew subconsciously, maybe your maybe our brain, maybe our body
- 21:31Speaker 2: prepares us like I think I'm I don't want to
- 21:34Speaker 2: say I'm prepared because that's a horrible thing to say.
- 21:36Speaker 2: But I know my parents are in their seventies. Their
- 21:39Speaker 2: health isn't great. I know I'm gonna have to face that.
- 21:41Speaker 2: So it's like one of these moments where I go,
- 21:43Speaker 2: I've had a great life with them. I know that
- 21:46Speaker 2: moment's coming, like in my head, it's gonna be hard.
- 21:50Speaker 2: She was twenty seven and it was a phone call,
- 21:54Speaker 2: you know, And so I agree with you that it
- 21:56Speaker 2: was like, yeah, I never want to say I can't
- 21:59Speaker 2: even tell you. And I felt like I lost a
- 22:02Speaker 2: parent because it's the closest thing. But you know, peeling
- 22:06Speaker 2: her off the floor for four months was you know.
- 22:08Speaker 2: So I appreciate what you say because you've lost a parent,
- 22:11Speaker 2: so you know, a heart that is. But yeah, watching
- 22:13Speaker 2: the sudden loss was was something I never wish on
- 22:18Speaker 2: anybody because.
- 22:19Speaker 3: So you know, what's weird, I actually like and there's
- 22:22Speaker 3: no beauty in any of this. But I love that
- 22:24Speaker 3: you said celebrate it, right, because it is like a
- 22:27Speaker 3: celebration of their lives. Like I try to, like drink
- 22:29Speaker 3: a bottle of dom for it. And I was going
- 22:31Speaker 3: off with them amism on the day of his passing, right,
- 22:35Speaker 3: celebrating him going into heaven, like he kept it classy,
- 22:38Speaker 3: so I try try to did the same. But yeah,
- 22:43Speaker 3: but like I think in the the suddenness of the
- 22:47Speaker 3: value in that is that you were kind of living
- 22:49Speaker 3: every day with them, hopefully getting to see them and
- 22:52Speaker 3: just enjoying that time. Where It's like I think I did,
- 22:55Speaker 3: like car carry around a lot of like anxiety about
- 22:59Speaker 3: his health ever since I was a young and like
- 23:02Speaker 3: that made me a total hypochondriac. My friends will tell
- 23:05Speaker 3: you they're like a new kit to test some random
- 23:08Speaker 3: thing about your health shows up every week. Wow, what
- 23:12Speaker 3: is this costing me?
- 23:17Speaker 2: I'm a hypochondriac period. I think I'm dying of everything
- 23:21Speaker 2: and I didn't even have to face the challenges you did.
- 23:24Speaker 2: So I feel you.
- 23:25Speaker 1: And I think with the passing of a parent or
- 23:28Speaker 1: anybody who who you just love unconditionally like you would
- 23:33Speaker 1: a parent, it makes you very sensitive to time. So
- 23:38Speaker 1: no matter what that means, you know, it's like this
- 23:40Speaker 1: life isn't waiting for anybody, so you have to take
- 23:43Speaker 1: every opportunity, whether it's spending time with your loved ones,
- 23:46Speaker 1: whether it's you know, creating a business. It's like this
- 23:49Speaker 1: life is moving. It doesn't care if you've lost someone,
- 23:52Speaker 1: if you love someone, if you hate someone. You keep
- 23:54Speaker 1: it moving, you know.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, And I think part of It's funny that
- 23:59Speaker 3: you say that, because I'm having this like download right
- 24:02Speaker 3: now to myself that like maybe that's part of where
- 24:05Speaker 3: that kind of hustle mindset. I hate using that word.
- 24:08Speaker 3: I think obviously it's a little frowned upon now and
- 24:10Speaker 3: we shouldn't be driving ourselves to burn out, right, But
- 24:13Speaker 3: I think that's where some of the fire under my
- 24:15Speaker 3: ass came from. You know, it's just.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I think, will you explaining how you were like, I'm
- 24:23Speaker 1: going to spend this time with my dad because there's
- 24:25Speaker 1: no guarantee that he's going to be here tomorrow. You
- 24:27Speaker 1: learn that there are no guarantees in this life, and
- 24:31Speaker 1: no one's going to make things happen for you. So
- 24:34Speaker 1: I'm wondering to shift gears into a happier, happier.
- 24:40Speaker 2: A little lighter Monday. Yeah, we wed.
- 24:43Speaker 3: We people are like clicking this out.
- 24:49Speaker 1: So how how did you land a spot on Bethany's show?
- 24:55Speaker 3: So that's actually a funny story and I've barely had
- 24:58Speaker 3: the chance to kind of like tell kind of how
- 25:02Speaker 3: this all got set into motion, but I I saw
- 25:05Speaker 3: her in my I'm a little bit older than you.
- 25:07Speaker 3: I got a couple of years on you, not too much, but.
- 25:12Speaker 5: Not ondcast, and so I kind of I started watching
- 25:23Speaker 5: her when she was really a couple of years into
- 25:25Speaker 5: the Real Housewives.
- 25:26Speaker 3: She got like Bethany ever after write her own show,
- 25:29Speaker 3: and she was building things. She started building Skinny Girl.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Margarita and I come from a very traditional household. My
- 25:35Speaker 3: mom's family was Italian immigrants. Both my parents are doctors.
- 25:40Speaker 3: My sister is a is a surgeon. Right, so it's
- 25:43Speaker 3: like very traditional, like this is the way life is
- 25:47Speaker 3: and that's what we do. Kind of mindset in our household.
- 25:50Speaker 3: And when I saw Bethany just taking off building her
- 25:54Speaker 3: own thing, it was really like pre Instagram era too, right,
- 25:57Speaker 3: So there weren't really there were bloggers, but there weren't
- 26:00Speaker 3: so much quote unquote influencers, although I don't really use
- 26:02Speaker 3: that term either, but but she was one of a
- 26:06Speaker 3: kind and I was so impressed, and I thought maybe
- 26:10Speaker 3: I could take what I was doing with DJing and
- 26:13Speaker 3: model it, you know, modeled parts of my career after
- 26:16Speaker 3: kind of what she did at TV wasn't like my
- 26:18Speaker 3: number one priority, but I was like, if opportunities come,
- 26:22Speaker 3: I should at least suss them out right and see
- 26:25Speaker 3: what might be the right fit. I was very specific
- 26:28Speaker 3: about being on brand that as I'm sure I'm sure
- 26:31Speaker 3: you've had that exchange with yourself too, and I'm sure
- 26:34Speaker 3: lots of people have contacted you about tons of things
- 26:36Speaker 3: that are right or not right.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Right, but totally let me, let me, let me, let
- 26:41Speaker 2: me aska, wait, let me ask question what wait? I
- 26:44Speaker 2: just want to jump because I want to go backwards
- 26:45Speaker 2: before we get all so, just so somebody like me
- 26:49Speaker 2: who doesn't like the audience of people who are not
- 26:51Speaker 2: as hip as you two, let's go back a second.
- 26:55Speaker 2: So you're from the Midwest, born and raised, and you
- 26:57Speaker 2: started DJing out in the Midwest, and and and then
- 27:02Speaker 2: you got onto the show just to give me like
- 27:04Speaker 2: the cliff note version of house.
- 27:06Speaker 3: So cliff yeah, cliff notes cliff notes of how DJ
- 27:10Speaker 3: Rose was born, right, So, because she's like a whole
- 27:13Speaker 3: different right, this is very casual in Nicole, she's very chill.
- 27:18Speaker 3: But DJ Rose is like me on adderall right, But
- 27:23Speaker 3: I mean I don't take that on meeting, no she
- 27:28Speaker 3: for anybody that does. But yeah, So, so I was
- 27:32Speaker 3: I went to I grew up in Saint Louis. I
- 27:34Speaker 3: knew that I was just not like a small town
- 27:36Speaker 3: verse because I just I you can tell when you
- 27:38Speaker 3: like fit in and don't. And I had my own
- 27:39Speaker 3: crew and whatever. But I was like, I'm a little
- 27:42Speaker 3: weird for like this conservative small town vine, so probably
- 27:46Speaker 3: going to need to spread my wings at some point.
- 27:48Speaker 3: I went to Emory University in Atlanta. It was very
- 27:51Speaker 3: New Yorky my goal. I knew as a twelve year
- 27:54Speaker 3: old that I wanted to be in New York. I
- 27:55Speaker 3: didn't really know why. I just had this vision ever
- 27:58Speaker 3: since my mom took me for my twelfth birthday. We
- 28:00Speaker 3: did like the Eloise thing and stayed at the Waldorf
- 28:03Speaker 3: and like did tea at the Plaza, like we did
- 28:05Speaker 3: all of like the New York things. Yeah, and like
- 28:09Speaker 3: I knew that I wanted to be there. I first
- 28:11Speaker 3: worked in social media and digital marketing for agencies for
- 28:14Speaker 3: like four and a half years. I'm like publishing a
- 28:17Speaker 3: couple of marketing books like that was the beginning of
- 28:20Speaker 3: my career. And then I was like, you know what,
- 28:21Speaker 3: I have a skill. I can sell it. I'm making
- 28:25Speaker 3: decent money selling this. It's going to take me a
- 28:27Speaker 3: year or two to build back up to my salary,
- 28:29Speaker 3: but look it, why don't I do it now, right,
- 28:32Speaker 3: I'm not gonna do this when I'm thirty and trying
- 28:34Speaker 3: to maybe.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Right, totally, I get it. I do get it.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Why. I mean, seriously, hats off to you. I don't
- 28:42Speaker 3: know how you do all the millions of things that
- 28:44Speaker 3: you do. It's incredibly I think you just.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Look at life like it's a hurdle race and if
- 28:49Speaker 1: you look up, you're going to fall on one of
- 28:51Speaker 1: the hurdles. So you just keep your head down. My
- 28:53Speaker 1: mom always told me that. And I can't look at
- 28:55Speaker 1: what other people are doing because then it takes me
- 28:58Speaker 1: out of what I need to get done and makes
- 28:59Speaker 1: me beat myself up for not doing enough. And who knows,
- 29:04Speaker 1: I could be doing plenty, but social media makes me
- 29:06Speaker 1: think that everyone else is doing one hundred times better
- 29:09Speaker 1: than I am, you know which real mindful?
- 29:12Speaker 2: Right? Okay, So now so now you go from the
- 29:14Speaker 2: social media thing working in four years to get to Yeah.
- 29:19Speaker 3: So I'm I'm djang And like I said, I kind
- 29:22Speaker 3: of I had this vision of Bethany. I was like, oh,
- 29:24Speaker 3: I'm just gonna she's like my role model, right, and
- 29:26Speaker 3: didn't nowhere at the time, but I was like, if, like,
- 29:28Speaker 3: if I could be anybody when I grow up, I'd
- 29:30Speaker 3: be her met like certain parts of her. I'd manufacture
- 29:33Speaker 3: my my best version. No, but she's great. But so
- 29:36Speaker 3: I was like, I would this is what I would
- 29:38Speaker 3: model my career like. And you know, I started djaying
- 29:42Speaker 3: and growing that business, and you know, over time started
- 29:45Speaker 3: building just kind of an organic following over email and Instagram, right,
- 29:50Speaker 3: and you know we still use both obviously very much.
- 29:53Speaker 3: And so that you know, they've eventually found me on
- 29:57Speaker 3: Instagram randomly reached out to me, and I was like
- 29:59Speaker 3: this crazy, like, if that's not manifestation, I don't know.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Wow, oh I still believe in Yeah, her idea, I.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Mean eight years late. I mean it was like it
- 30:09Speaker 3: was a while later. But I mean if she would
- 30:11Speaker 3: have found me when I was first building, I don't
- 30:13Speaker 3: I don't think I would have been qualified to No.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Timing is a real bitch, you know, because it's everything.
- 30:21Speaker 1: So even though it was eight and you know, there's
- 30:23Speaker 1: no like Manifestation doesn't say if you manifest for two
- 30:27Speaker 1: and a half years on the dot, that's when it
- 30:29Speaker 1: comes true. You know, it's like who knows how long
- 30:32Speaker 1: you have to do it for? Okay, so they approach you,
- 30:35Speaker 1: you feel like it's the And by the way, the
- 30:37Speaker 1: second day that you step on I mean making the shots,
- 30:40Speaker 1: I was like, you and I would have had a
- 30:42Speaker 1: real fucking heyday back in the day. I'll tell you what.
- 30:44Speaker 1: She steps on and she steps onto the scene of
- 30:48Speaker 1: the Big Shot with Bethany, right, and she's just making
- 30:51Speaker 1: shots at the bar that they have set up.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's my specialty shots.
- 30:55Speaker 1: You were killing it.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I'm the shots specials. My partner doesn't drink anymore, but
- 31:00Speaker 2: she drank enough for all of us for decades and
- 31:02Speaker 2: decades and decades. I did so she so she And
- 31:06Speaker 2: by the way, when I met her that we laugh
- 31:08Speaker 2: about it today. It wasn't funny then, but we laugh
- 31:10Speaker 2: about it today. I used to be like and she's like, oh, yeah,
- 31:13Speaker 2: I can drink. And I was like, okay, light wait,
- 31:15Speaker 2: like sure, And then at two in the morning, I'd
- 31:17Speaker 2: be like, we're going home. It's like, no, we're fucking not.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Look at the fucking drink. It's not empty, and why
- 31:23Speaker 2: would you waste a perfectly good fucking drink. I was like, Okay,
- 31:26Speaker 2: I surrender, I surrender. Can we go home now? Yeah?
- 31:29Speaker 2: She'd like, no, no, bar still open. We're gonna stay
- 31:32Speaker 2: till three. No, she is, she was professional professional.
- 31:36Speaker 1: So what was what was that moment like when you
- 31:39Speaker 1: had no idea what was going on?
- 31:41Speaker 3: Right?
- 31:41Speaker 1: You like showed up, thought you were gonna have cocktail
- 31:43Speaker 1: hour and like work starts tomorrow.
- 31:46Speaker 3: I thought I was at a party for sure, Like
- 31:47Speaker 3: that's a a joke, Like they were really like jokes
- 31:50Speaker 3: on you, bitch, because this chip's about to get real.
- 31:52Speaker 3: But I was, you know, I don't regret anymore.
- 31:54Speaker 2: And wait, wait, just like, were you doing.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Shots my best life for a few minutes?
- 31:58Speaker 2: Were they doing shots and they had to start working
- 32:00Speaker 2: that night or something?
- 32:01Speaker 1: Basically, let me set it up Nicole for Rand basically.
- 32:04Speaker 2: For the rest of us.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Okay, if you haven't seen the Big Shot with Bethany,
- 32:08Speaker 1: you're missing out on everything. It's on HBO Max. So
- 32:15Speaker 1: the setup is they have like a cocktail party, right, okay,
- 32:18Speaker 1: first day, the first day, first night, they all lost.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Nicole rolls up Meloxi like all the people that are
- 32:26Speaker 1: being put out like this, this position could be yours.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Oh so they're competing for the spot to work for.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Bethany vice president. Correct, Okay, but what they don't know
- 32:38Speaker 1: is that Bethany is watching them out the window and
- 32:40Speaker 1: she's like what each person is doing, and they have
- 32:43Speaker 1: no idea that she's going to come out at some point.
- 32:46Speaker 1: She also has her team out there pretending like they're
- 32:48Speaker 1: up for the position a lot. Yes, yes, come.
- 32:56Speaker 3: On, I'm just I'm making fun of one of the dudes.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Oh what, I meant it in a loving way.
- 33:03Speaker 2: And how many shots in?
- 33:06Speaker 1: But you can tell that you're not mean, you can
- 33:08Speaker 1: tell you kind of poke fun.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Hold on, how many shots in are you before you
- 33:13Speaker 2: realize that Bethany is that we're that this is happening.
- 33:16Speaker 2: How many shots?
- 33:17Speaker 3: I only took like one or two out and I
- 33:20Speaker 3: was making them for But my point was too, let's
- 33:23Speaker 3: like get everybody a little sauce. I can learn stuff
- 33:26Speaker 3: about it, and like I had a file where I
- 33:28Speaker 3: write things down that I needed to know about people
- 33:30Speaker 3: in case for a rainy day. I mean, I don't know,
- 33:33Speaker 3: I've never done this ship before. I don't know all
- 33:35Speaker 3: these people. Some of them didn't necessarily have the best intentions.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Wait, you mean you mean every day you're not going
- 33:41Speaker 1: up against other people put on camera for a position
- 33:44Speaker 1: that's not your everyday life.
- 33:45Speaker 2: I have a question one who won this.
- 33:49Speaker 5: One?
- 33:50Speaker 2: Is she nice?
- 33:51Speaker 3: Do you like Biloxi is an incredible human being? We're
- 33:54Speaker 3: still best friends. We do every day.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Oh that's cool.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Does she still work with Bethany in that position? I
- 34:01Speaker 1: tried to instagram stuff?
- 34:03Speaker 3: I mean, to my to my knowledge, yes, but I'm
- 34:07Speaker 3: not like super briefed on what's going on in deathany lands.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Okay, I don't know.
- 34:12Speaker 3: I just I do occasionally DM something.
- 34:15Speaker 2: How long was how long was the whole show filming?
- 34:18Speaker 2: How many weeks were you? Did you do this?
- 34:21Speaker 5: So?
- 34:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it ended up being about like eight.
- 34:25Speaker 3: But it's a little hazy, likes we're just quarantining right
- 34:29Speaker 3: and right film. The pandemic makes things tough. I'm sure
- 34:32Speaker 3: you know.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh yeah, No, it's it's like the sad
- 34:36Speaker 1: thing is is you become used to it. You're like,
- 34:38Speaker 1: I don't even remember a life that we didn't have
- 34:41Speaker 1: to get tested and quarantine and not see anybody. I
- 34:44Speaker 1: really don't remember without that. Okay, So you see Bethany,
- 34:48Speaker 1: she comes down and she tells you Elimination Round is happening.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Day fucking won thisbody? I think they sent like four
- 34:57Speaker 1: people home.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like four or five. It's like half of
- 35:00Speaker 3: the crew just immediately got the axe, and I was
- 35:04Speaker 3: certain that her team was going to tell her I
- 35:06Speaker 3: was a total jerk off, and they I mean, and
- 35:08Speaker 3: one of the guys did, right, yow get rid of
- 35:11Speaker 3: Nicole because I called him little Cory, but there was
- 35:14Speaker 3: a tall Cory and in short Corey. I was just
- 35:16Speaker 3: trying to like, remember everybody.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Like little La La and big Lalla.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I love god.
- 35:24Speaker 1: I thought it was cute. I didn't think you were
- 35:25Speaker 1: poking fun at all. There were two Corey's. Whatever, this
- 35:28Speaker 1: is how we're gonna.
- 35:28Speaker 2: That's I don't think that warrants elimination. That's a little extreme.
- 35:32Speaker 1: She didn't get a liliminate. You fucking rocked it until
- 35:35Speaker 1: the wills fell off.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Wait, you stayed till when the last two last.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I was top four. There was only one episode that
- 35:43Speaker 3: I wasn't in. It was it's like, there's not really
- 35:45Speaker 3: a structure to how she eliminated people. But I was
- 35:49Speaker 3: in the first I guess like six or seven.
- 35:51Speaker 2: I forget how much that's great though, that's great. It
- 35:54Speaker 2: is okay, So.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it was definitely fine, and I got to know
- 35:57Speaker 3: her more, right, Like at first, I think that's anything,
- 36:00Speaker 3: and I was just like totally crazy, right, but she
- 36:04Speaker 3: knew it was a work event, but I thought I
- 36:06Speaker 3: was at it getting to know you party right, thinks what.
- 36:11Speaker 1: A great idea about it when you when you watched
- 36:14Speaker 1: the show back, what are you most mortified of?
- 36:19Speaker 3: I mean, like definitely, And when you're saying it back
- 36:21Speaker 3: to me, I'm like, you're right, this isn't a big deal.
- 36:23Speaker 3: But when I watched like episodes one and some of two,
- 36:28Speaker 3: at first, I was just like, oh my god, like
- 36:31Speaker 3: like just I mean I literally think they sped my
- 36:34Speaker 3: voice up, like you are talking to me now, right,
- 36:36Speaker 3: But it was like I was like, like the energizer, Bunny.
- 36:40Speaker 1: You're very different. You're very different now than what I
- 36:42Speaker 1: see on the show.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Really, Oh yeah, I mean I think some of it's
- 36:46Speaker 3: the edit, right, And it's like also, I was like
- 36:48Speaker 3: definitely a little bit nervous at first too, like I'm
- 36:51Speaker 3: sure you remember like your first day ever on sat
- 36:54Speaker 3: at Vander.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Right, and I wish I was as cool back then,
- 36:59Speaker 1: Like I wish I was as cool now as I
- 37:00Speaker 1: was back then, actually, But I said very.
- 37:03Speaker 3: A little nervous too, right, nervous.
- 37:05Speaker 1: I was nervous, but I was also so chill and
- 37:08Speaker 1: were drinking. I was drinking and smoking a lot of weeds.
- 37:11Speaker 1: So I was like, she was, yeah, she was pay.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Most of the time. Wait, but I will but I
- 37:16Speaker 2: find a funny story, Nicole. I will tell you. When
- 37:18Speaker 2: she got sober and she came back for her first
- 37:21Speaker 2: season of Vanderpump, she was petrified because you didn't know
- 37:24Speaker 2: if you would be yourself. You kept asking, are they
- 37:26Speaker 2: am I going to still be the Lalla? And I said,
- 37:28Speaker 2: You're better than the old Laala because you're ten times quicker.
- 37:33Speaker 2: You're ten times more vicious when people are mean to
- 37:35Speaker 2: you now because you're aware, but you're You're sweeter than
- 37:38Speaker 2: you ever were and more vulnerable. So I said, this
- 37:41Speaker 2: is like the well rounded Laala. Like. So, she was
- 37:44Speaker 2: nervous when she got sober, but you weren't nervous in
- 37:46Speaker 2: the beginning the first season.
- 37:48Speaker 1: No, I was twenty three. I was like, this is
- 37:50Speaker 1: what I'm supposed to do. I'm supposed to be drunk
- 37:52Speaker 1: all day. You know, what is anybody else? Like? In
- 37:56Speaker 1: my mind, I was like, I'm twenty three, I'm drunk
- 37:59Speaker 1: every day, and hi, and I'm on a fucking television show.
- 38:02Speaker 1: If I'm not winning the game, then I don't know
- 38:04Speaker 1: what winning the game is, you know.
- 38:07Speaker 3: I mean very fair equation. Completely. I felt that way DJ,
- 38:11Speaker 3: and I was like, I was like whatever. When I
- 38:13Speaker 3: really left in DJ full time, like twenty six, I
- 38:16Speaker 3: had the greatest crew of like down ass chicks in
- 38:19Speaker 3: New York City. There are always like dressed to the knives,
- 38:22Speaker 3: but like, we're real friends, right. They weren't flaky pieces
- 38:25Speaker 3: of shit. They showed up, they came through every event.
- 38:28Speaker 3: They brought the fun vibes, you know. And and I
- 38:31Speaker 3: was just I didn't have to do anything. People just
- 38:33Speaker 3: called me and were.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Like, we want you to DJ, and you're gonna You're
- 38:36Speaker 1: getting paid to party. So it's like the best of
- 38:39Speaker 1: both the worlds we got.
- 38:40Speaker 2: We got to take a break. We have to break
- 38:42Speaker 2: because I want to. I want to keep talking about
- 38:43Speaker 2: the DJ, but with take a quick.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Break, I'm like, I love having you as a guest.
- 38:47Speaker 1: I just want to pick your brain for five hours. Yes,
- 38:50Speaker 1: you can take a break, We'll be right back and
- 38:56Speaker 1: we're back. So I want to say this being a
- 38:59Speaker 1: part you're you being on that show is much more
- 39:02Speaker 1: difficult than what I have to do every day, because
- 39:05Speaker 1: number one, you're being filmed, so you want it to
- 39:07Speaker 1: be entertaining, but you're also up for a real life job,
- 39:11Speaker 1: so you can't act a damn fool because you could
- 39:13Speaker 1: go home. But if you act a damn fool, people
- 39:16Speaker 1: are gonna keep watching the show. It's like such a
- 39:19Speaker 1: mind fuck, you know.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Thank you? Yes, I hope everybody is hearing that right now,
- 39:24Speaker 3: because there were points where I was on that show
- 39:27Speaker 3: and I was like, Okay, sorry, what show are we on?
- 39:30Speaker 3: Can I have some show notes? Like is there anything
- 39:32Speaker 3: like are we on The Apprentice? Or are we on
- 39:34Speaker 3: the Red Housewives? Or like ren percentage of both? Am
- 39:38Speaker 3: I supposed to be giving here? Like it's very unclear
- 39:41Speaker 3: what is going on?
- 39:42Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 39:43Speaker 1: No, I would feel the same way like competition reality shows,
- 39:46Speaker 1: especially one where it's your job is a job is
- 39:50Speaker 1: at stake? You know, the it's it's very confusing. But
- 39:55Speaker 1: the time that you were on the photo shoot, do
- 39:58Speaker 1: you remember you were doing the sho shape where and
- 40:01Speaker 1: you put her on the back burner, which I was like,
- 40:03Speaker 1: holy shit, this bitch is badass. Like I probably wouldn't
- 40:07Speaker 1: have done that, but like, props to her for being like, Bethany,
- 40:10Speaker 1: we're gonna do you last, We're gonna shoot you last.
- 40:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna model first. Just kidding, but like what was
- 40:17Speaker 1: going through your head because your bounce back in Bethany's
- 40:20Speaker 1: eyes was legit, Like you went out unfazed, but then
- 40:24Speaker 1: you kind of lost it a little bit, like going.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Through all the things, like that was a day to remember.
- 40:31Speaker 3: I mean, I'll like never forget that day for the
- 40:34Speaker 3: rest of my life. But like I'm proud of myself
- 40:37Speaker 3: for like just keeping it together. Obviously there were many
- 40:40Speaker 3: moments where I was like I might have a nervous breakdown. Nope, Okay,
- 40:44Speaker 3: I got this right. But yeah, I had planned to
- 40:48Speaker 3: really and I learned this about myself through filming the show.
- 40:51Speaker 3: And I'm sure you feel the same way that, like
- 40:53Speaker 3: doing reality TV is like some of the most growth
- 40:57Speaker 3: that you've probably ever like experienced as a human, right
- 40:59Speaker 3: because like you're the greatest things about you and the
- 41:02Speaker 3: worst things about you are reflected back to hardcore right people.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Yeah right?
- 41:10Speaker 3: Yeah, So so in that moment, I was like I
- 41:13Speaker 3: had I think that I learned that I had planned
- 41:17Speaker 3: an overly ambitious photo shoot with three different looks in
- 41:19Speaker 3: thirty minutes, which I'm sure you know as a content
- 41:21Speaker 3: creator and brand owner it's impossible to do that and
- 41:25Speaker 3: get it all right. But I was just, I guess,
- 41:27Speaker 3: trying to show off because this was in my wheelhouse,
- 41:29Speaker 3: right of things that I do for myself and for
- 41:33Speaker 3: my brand and you know, in skating and whatnot. And
- 41:38Speaker 3: then her throwing a wrench in that plan just made
- 41:40Speaker 3: it unmanageable. So I didn't have clothing that could fit her.
- 41:43Speaker 3: She's a zero, right or a double zero really if
- 41:46Speaker 3: I had that, and I picked plus size models, so
- 41:49Speaker 3: I was like, just screw right. So I was like,
- 41:52Speaker 3: so we're gonna have to do like go take the
- 41:54Speaker 3: models down from their clothes, right, so I could do
- 41:57Speaker 3: them in the skinny roll clothing down to the shape
- 42:00Speaker 3: where and then put her in laugh. And it wasn't
- 42:02Speaker 3: because I wanted to put baby on the back burner, right,
- 42:05Speaker 3: It was just that I like didn't know how else
- 42:07Speaker 3: to do it because I could not bring clothes from
- 42:10Speaker 3: the loft for her that would fit her, and you know,
- 42:13Speaker 3: most people didn't even have clothes that would fit her
- 42:15Speaker 3: at the shoot or were busy using them in their
- 42:17Speaker 3: own preparation, right.
- 42:20Speaker 1: No, I I was every challenge that you guys were given.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I was like, I don't know how the fuck I
- 42:25Speaker 1: would do this. And then the grammar, the grammar on
- 42:29Speaker 1: the cards when she was like, we're doing the PSA
- 42:32Speaker 1: for Oh my gosh, how can you can't relate?
- 42:38Speaker 2: But I'm listening. But now I'm going to watch the show,
- 42:40Speaker 2: so keep calling.
- 42:41Speaker 1: I told you it's so good. Yeah, it's so. I
- 42:43Speaker 1: actually learned a lot from the show. Really, I really did.
- 42:47Speaker 2: That's good. Yeah, business wise.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Business wise and just to see someone in like how
- 42:51Speaker 1: things don't stop moving and how things are going to
- 42:53Speaker 1: be thrown at you and you may have a short
- 42:55Speaker 1: period of time, but you better make it look like
- 42:57Speaker 1: you had a really long fucking time to do. This
- 42:59Speaker 1: is what I've done. So I have to ask you
- 43:01Speaker 1: about the crop top. Bethany really had a problem with
- 43:04Speaker 1: your crop top, do you remember?
- 43:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I'm five to five, so I probably
- 43:09Speaker 3: look taller on Instagram, but I'm not that tall. I'm
- 43:11Speaker 3: very average, and so like a crop top on me
- 43:15Speaker 3: is really not like so sexual, like it's not that
- 43:19Speaker 3: word for me. At a air crop up, I always
- 43:20Speaker 3: were highways advance. I thought that we were doing a
- 43:24Speaker 3: photo shoot, so I thought, okay, like I'm photo directing
- 43:27Speaker 3: a bunch of models, this fits right. She was just
- 43:31Speaker 3: very invented.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm very on the DJ front.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Randall's so into I love.
- 43:39Speaker 2: So many of my friends are DJs, which, like I'm
- 43:41Speaker 2: not even a big music guy. But like, I was
- 43:43Speaker 2: just with Steve Ioki this week and we were developing
- 43:45Speaker 2: a TV show with my friend Quavo, So like, I love,
- 43:49Speaker 2: I just love everything about music. I have no music
- 43:52Speaker 2: musical ability, She'll tell you, like literally none, but I'm
- 43:55Speaker 2: kind of like enamored by like people that perform. I
- 43:57Speaker 2: just think it's really unique and different, the fact that
- 44:00Speaker 2: you have to produce music, go on a stage, perform,
- 44:03Speaker 2: and get all these people to buy into your creative vision.
- 44:07Speaker 2: I mean, I guess it's like movies, but I it's
- 44:09Speaker 2: what I know movies. So like, this is a very
- 44:11Speaker 2: foreign world for me. So I've always been intrigued by
- 44:14Speaker 2: performers and singers and all that. So it says that
- 44:18Speaker 2: you've performed with Nelly, Diana, Ross, ryl Pro people like that,
- 44:21Speaker 2: is that correct or incorrect?
- 44:23Speaker 3: No, it's correct, but it's like I'm opening in or
- 44:26Speaker 3: closing for them, right, these are the main the talents,
- 44:29Speaker 3: the main act, and I'm.
- 44:32Speaker 2: All right, let's not play that down. Let's keep it
- 44:34Speaker 2: going along. So, so, what was the biggest venue you've
- 44:38Speaker 2: ever played that you that you can recall, Like, what
- 44:41Speaker 2: was I.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Mean the biggest venue? I guess I mean the so
- 44:44Speaker 3: I did so Super Bowls party was the Maxim party.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a big one.
- 44:48Speaker 3: And that was like before Cardi Bat went on. So
- 44:50Speaker 3: that was very like it's we were the whole building
- 44:54Speaker 3: to forget how many people in that party or just
- 44:58Speaker 3: like I mean even like Archie, right, a marquee can
- 45:01Speaker 3: hold two thousand people, and like I remember the first
- 45:04Speaker 3: time it wasn't even like a really important event, but
- 45:06Speaker 3: the first time that those guys from Strategic were like,
- 45:09Speaker 3: come up, dude, we're gonna give you a shot, like
- 45:11Speaker 3: don't stuck it up. And I was like, okay, like
- 45:13Speaker 3: maybe so much like I you know, I knew them
- 45:15Speaker 3: for a while, right, because I've been out, I've been
- 45:17Speaker 3: on the scene in New York, and I was just
- 45:19Speaker 3: so grateful to have the opportunity. I was like scared
- 45:22Speaker 3: shitless when I saw that many people staring up at
- 45:25Speaker 3: me looking for their fun that night, right, I.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Mean that's what I mean that you mean it's fucking crazy,
- 45:31Speaker 2: And that's why I say, like, like friends of mine
- 45:33Speaker 2: who do that like you do, I'm blown away, Like
- 45:36Speaker 2: I was. I called LOLLA this week and I was
- 45:38Speaker 2: sitting at my friend's club live in the DJ booth
- 45:40Speaker 2: with with Steve and these and even at fifty years old,
- 45:44Speaker 2: which I've been in club since I was eighteen or
- 45:46Speaker 2: you know whatever, looking out at two thousand and three
- 45:49Speaker 2: thousand people and watching them look up like and just
- 45:52Speaker 2: follow the music and dance, and they just want more,
- 45:55Speaker 2: And I'm like, I would lose my shit, Like I
- 45:57Speaker 2: would think that this is never going to work, this connection.
- 46:00Speaker 2: So I am an amor by by people that do
- 46:02Speaker 2: it well.
- 46:02Speaker 1: And the drinking can only do so much for you.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Like the music. If I go into a club and
- 46:09Speaker 1: I'm sober and guess, I like, I can still hang
- 46:11Speaker 1: with the best of them at a nightclub. And if
- 46:13Speaker 1: the music is not popping and makes me want to
- 46:15Speaker 1: like twerk my flatty, I don't want to be there.
- 46:18Speaker 1: You're responsible for everyone's fun. That's intimidating.
- 46:21Speaker 3: I agree, yeah, I agree, it does feel like a
- 46:23Speaker 3: big responsibility. But you know what's funny, I think and
- 46:26Speaker 3: it was the same thing with TV and you probably
- 46:28Speaker 3: you both can relate to this. I'm sure it's the
- 46:30Speaker 3: same thing with you know, building movies that make people
- 46:33Speaker 3: get really excited. But it's like once you you know,
- 46:36Speaker 3: you're nervous about it, and then you learn how to
- 46:38Speaker 3: do it right. It's like burning a bike and you know, Okay,
- 46:41Speaker 3: if I replicate the same formula, it seems to work.
- 46:44Speaker 3: Now I've done this ten times, one hundred times, and
- 46:46Speaker 3: so you move past that fear, right, So for me,
- 46:49Speaker 3: it's like it's funny. I can get in and maybe
- 46:52Speaker 3: you guys will be able to relate this. I can't
- 46:53Speaker 3: get in that creative flow state where it's like I'm
- 46:56Speaker 3: truly channeling creative energy. I did an event for like
- 47:03Speaker 3: what was the some fashion week thing with Jeremy from
- 47:06Speaker 3: Mosquino and like Snax and Harper's bizarre, like a bunch
- 47:10Speaker 3: of magazin there's a bunch of different people collaborating on
- 47:13Speaker 3: this townhouse loft, very exclusive experience in New York during
- 47:18Speaker 3: fashion Week when year and he said that when he
- 47:20Speaker 3: gets in a space of make, you know, turning his
- 47:22Speaker 3: art into fashion that he's like channeling from, you know,
- 47:25Speaker 3: a higher source or power. And when he said that,
- 47:29Speaker 3: I was like, oh my god, this makes sense now,
- 47:33Speaker 3: Like it's it. I have to really like I can't
- 47:35Speaker 3: drink too much, I can't be too nervous, Like you
- 47:37Speaker 3: have to relax into it, right, Like it helps to
- 47:40Speaker 3: have like a good environment with clients that I like
- 47:43Speaker 3: or have had experience with before and friends that are
- 47:45Speaker 3: supportive around, because it just like helps me ease into it.
- 47:49Speaker 3: But you know, once you know what sets the conditions
- 47:52Speaker 3: for that, you can recreate it.
- 47:54Speaker 1: When it happened to Nicole Rose.
- 47:57Speaker 3: Exactly, I said, right, this goes off exactly.
- 48:01Speaker 1: I relate because on the day to day I'm just
- 48:05Speaker 1: Laren from Utah.
- 48:06Speaker 2: But like, I don't know if you're ever just learned
- 48:08Speaker 2: from me, it's all, but that I definitely am.
- 48:10Speaker 1: When I'm with my daughter Ocean, I'm larning from Utah.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Like it's very normal. We're chilling. It's a it's a
- 48:16Speaker 1: whole vibe. But then when it's time to work and
- 48:18Speaker 1: you can't be affected by negative energy, you have to
- 48:22Speaker 1: still keep that same hat on. You got to go
- 48:25Speaker 1: into give them fucking l alat you know.
- 48:28Speaker 2: I also think I also think people say like it
- 48:30Speaker 2: takes ten thousand hours to be a professional. It's something
- 48:33Speaker 2: you know literally, So maybe like for me, I've been
- 48:36Speaker 2: making movies for my whole life, and I maybe even
- 48:39Speaker 2: in a passion of mind, like poker, it took me
- 48:41Speaker 2: ten years to become good at it. Like when I
- 48:43Speaker 2: first sat down, I was petrified if I got to
- 48:46Speaker 2: a final table, I was petrified. I think, you know,
- 48:49Speaker 2: you're a professional DJ. You've been doing this for thousands
- 48:52Speaker 2: of thousand hours. So probably when you step up on
- 48:54Speaker 2: that stage, the true artist kind of comes through, and
- 48:57Speaker 2: it's probably why you're so natural and good at it.
- 49:00Speaker 1: And Nicole, it seems like you're you do well under.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Pressure from the show.
- 49:05Speaker 3: Thank you well.
- 49:06Speaker 1: She's saying that, like the people from Marquis, they were like,
- 49:09Speaker 1: we're giving you a shot, don't fuck this up. And
- 49:11Speaker 1: she's like, okay, like let's do it. Thank you for
- 49:13Speaker 1: the opportunity. Me I'd be like I need a couple
- 49:15Speaker 1: of days to like prepare, maybe a week.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Oh, you don't even do well if if people ask
- 49:19Speaker 2: you to come up on a tennis court and play
- 49:21Speaker 2: for three seconds.
- 49:23Speaker 1: I need preparation time mentally, so you you do well
- 49:28Speaker 1: just fucking winging it.
- 49:30Speaker 3: So sort of I like I can wing it, but
- 49:33Speaker 3: also like, don't don't be fooled like that even within
- 49:36Speaker 3: five minutes, right, if I have to go live on
- 49:39Speaker 3: something that I didn't know about, or even Bethany said
- 49:42Speaker 3: this that I she noticed that my that I could
- 49:45Speaker 3: like keep it together or pull it back together if
- 49:47Speaker 3: I was like starting to lose it under pressure. And
- 49:51Speaker 3: I mean part of that is like this mindset routine
- 49:54Speaker 3: that I have that we teach in the mentorship too,
- 49:56Speaker 3: that like just helps you ground your yourself and what
- 50:01Speaker 3: the truth of you is. Right, Like we can all
- 50:03Speaker 3: go down this tangent and tell ourself a bunch of
- 50:05Speaker 3: why and let our negative nancy go off, right, But
- 50:09Speaker 3: it's like having a process to talk myself off the
- 50:12Speaker 3: ledge and then also visualizing success. Right, Like I hadn't
- 50:16Speaker 3: DJed in a while because of the pandemic, and I
- 50:20Speaker 3: was like, I remember there was this event we were
- 50:21Speaker 3: doing with Voove, and like I just you guys probably
- 50:24Speaker 3: already have learned about me. I fucking love champagne for
- 50:29Speaker 3: no reason, and I was doing this event with them
- 50:33Speaker 3: for the fourth and I just hadn't done it in
- 50:34Speaker 3: two years. I had been doing that same party in
- 50:36Speaker 3: the Hamptons for like three years, but I just like,
- 50:39Speaker 3: you know, I didn't know who was showing up. I
- 50:41Speaker 3: hadn't seen the clients in a while. I like just
- 50:43Speaker 3: loved the brands that were involved and really wanted to
- 50:46Speaker 3: be great, and you know, with the pressures of the pandemic,
- 50:48Speaker 3: just didn't know what to expect and people were gonna
- 50:51Speaker 3: show and and whatnot. And I just visualized all the
- 50:55Speaker 3: positive energy being in the room, and before you knew it,
- 50:58Speaker 3: the party looked like what I saw in my head,
- 51:00Speaker 3: totally right, and like that works.
- 51:03Speaker 1: So this mentorship program you have had it for how long?
- 51:08Speaker 1: And what does it kind of consist of? Like how
- 51:12Speaker 1: do people come to you and say I need your
- 51:14Speaker 1: help to get through this, that and the other.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Yes, So it actually started. I was already thinking about
- 51:20Speaker 3: it when I was filming when especially when I had
- 51:23Speaker 3: that melt down in the photo shoot and I went
- 51:25Speaker 3: to the bathroom and like reaffirmed myself in the mirror,
- 51:28Speaker 3: did my mantras, did my affirmations. I was like, you're
- 51:30Speaker 3: fucking queen, get back out and pull it together, bitch.
- 51:34Speaker 3: Like I was like, you can do this, and like
- 51:36Speaker 3: went back out there after that pep talk, and I
- 51:38Speaker 3: was like, Damn, this shit works. Like I knew this worked,
- 51:41Speaker 3: but this works like in a pressure cooker. Right. So
- 51:44Speaker 3: that was kind of like the real test of do
- 51:47Speaker 3: these strategies right quote unquote that I've been using for
- 51:51Speaker 3: the last several years, do they actually work in extreme
- 51:55Speaker 3: situations of stress?
- 51:57Speaker 5: Right?
- 51:57Speaker 3: And I felt like they did. And so I felt
- 51:59Speaker 3: like that was really my sign to come forward. Like
- 52:02Speaker 3: I'd always taught the girls that are on my team.
- 52:04Speaker 3: There's a bunch of girls that have interned or been
- 52:07Speaker 3: my assistants or whatever. I've always taught them these things.
- 52:09Speaker 3: I've always taught my younger sister. I've mentored other women
- 52:12Speaker 3: that are now like successful and hire me for gigs, right,
- 52:15Speaker 3: like one of my girls who's like high up at
- 52:17Speaker 3: Aneheuser Bush.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 52:18Speaker 3: But it's like, so it was about taking codifying the
- 52:22Speaker 3: knowledge that I learned as a performer and how to
- 52:25Speaker 3: keep together and grow my career and you know, my
- 52:28Speaker 3: business as an entrepreneur and teach that making that teachable.
- 52:32Speaker 3: And so I hired a business coach in the winter
- 52:35Speaker 3: after filming the show to really kind of help me
- 52:38Speaker 3: understand the process of doing that and give me some
- 52:42Speaker 3: of the tangible tools that she had used to build
- 52:44Speaker 3: her program, which was very different. But mine is about mindset,
- 52:48Speaker 3: you know, like basically going deep into your subconscious brain,
- 52:52Speaker 3: your psyche, under unearthing all these limiting, shitty beliefs we
- 52:56Speaker 3: all have them. Rewriting your story, rewriting your after me
- 53:00Speaker 3: using your mantras, teaching people when to call in this
- 53:04Speaker 3: work right, and then having a morning routine and what
- 53:08Speaker 3: I call the manifest mindset tool that we build together.
- 53:10Speaker 3: That's a custom note in their phone that they can
- 53:13Speaker 3: read in two minutes, you know, or sixty seconds flat,
- 53:16Speaker 3: anytime that they need to take a pause and reset
- 53:19Speaker 3: and realign themselves.
- 53:20Speaker 1: I love it.
- 53:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's great. That's really really inspiring. I love that.
- 53:24Speaker 1: I know. So is that like are you still DJing?
- 53:27Speaker 1: Like what what do you feel? And I don't I
- 53:30Speaker 1: always like to put all my eggs into different baskets.
- 53:34Speaker 1: Would you say the hit most of your eggs are
- 53:37Speaker 1: in your mentorship program basket? Or like are you still DJing?
- 53:40Speaker 1: Like what are you up to?
- 53:43Speaker 3: Yeah? So I am DJing and I love DJing, right,
- 53:46Speaker 3: DJing is just like a big passion of mine. It
- 53:48Speaker 3: always will be. But this business, I feel like is
- 53:52Speaker 3: super aligned with my purpose. And I think my purpose
- 53:55Speaker 3: has shifted from my twenties into my thirties. And I
- 53:58Speaker 3: know that you're building new things too, So you probably
- 54:00Speaker 3: have felt that, right. It went from like wine and
- 54:03Speaker 3: weed to like products done, you know, for lives of women.
- 54:06Speaker 3: What I'd love to ask you this when you come
- 54:08Speaker 3: on my show. Yeah, so I think for me now,
- 54:12Speaker 3: it's where I am in my life. I will always
- 54:16Speaker 3: want to dj. I will always want to pull up
- 54:18Speaker 3: to the Hampton's with my friend, Yes and a banger
- 54:21Speaker 3: for my friends.
- 54:22Speaker 2: I'm going to hang out with your crew. You guys
- 54:24Speaker 2: are inviting you guys, and that this is my vibe
- 54:29Speaker 2: right here, pull up in the Hampton's just.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Like that's a slippery slope in us because we will
- 54:36Speaker 1: show up.
- 54:37Speaker 2: We do show up.
- 54:38Speaker 3: So like you're invited, please come. We have room for
- 54:41Speaker 3: you like you should, but but probably leave ocean at home.
- 54:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that's for sure.
- 54:48Speaker 1: Mama's night out.
- 54:50Speaker 3: I can share this with you guys. I guess this
- 54:52Speaker 3: is something you know. The pandemic has been hard for
- 54:54Speaker 3: a lot of people. I know that I'm not the
- 54:56Speaker 3: only person who's like feeling this kind of second wave.
- 54:59Speaker 3: By where it's like, are uncertain again and we're like,
- 55:01Speaker 3: what's gonna happen now? Or is CALLI is Texas right?
- 55:05Speaker 3: I'm in Florida right now?
- 55:06Speaker 2: By I just left yesterday. I just left Miami yesterday.
- 55:09Speaker 2: Part where where.
- 55:10Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I go between Sarasota and Miami when
- 55:13Speaker 3: I'm down here my family. I have family all over
- 55:15Speaker 3: Sara Soda, Naples, and then obviously every fuck in New
- 55:18Speaker 3: Yorker that could in Miami part time.
- 55:20Speaker 6: Now.
- 55:21Speaker 2: I'm born and raised in Miami, and I'm I go
- 55:23Speaker 2: to Naples a lot because I'm big pickleball player at
- 55:25Speaker 2: pickleball capital of the world there in Naples. Yeah, but
- 55:29Speaker 2: we're gonna be worth wild.
- 55:31Speaker 3: We're gonna be We have friends in Naples that love pickleballs.
- 55:33Speaker 2: They would know me because we have our own paddle
- 55:35Speaker 2: lall and I and I'm a huge ambassador to the game.
- 55:38Speaker 2: So if they play pickleball and you say my name
- 55:41Speaker 2: or you say Lata's name, for sure, no way, I
- 55:42Speaker 2: want to tell you we're going to be that, We're
- 55:44Speaker 2: going to be there for her birthday September second. So
- 55:47Speaker 2: if you're in Florida, link with us, because that's the
- 55:49Speaker 2: only time law is ever going to go out. She's
- 55:51Speaker 2: never going to go out again. This will be her
- 55:52Speaker 2: only night.
- 55:53Speaker 3: I mean, I'm coming.
- 55:55Speaker 1: I'm on here, do it, do it.
- 55:58Speaker 2: We're going to live September second. Make sure you're there, Okay.
- 56:01Speaker 3: I mean I can just fly in for the night. Yeah,
- 56:03Speaker 3: go up. I was thinking, like Hampton's, we can do
- 56:06Speaker 3: a pit stop in Miami and then and then go back.
- 56:08Speaker 3: I've got the airport's luck, I know. Wow MacArthur, Like
- 56:13Speaker 3: I've got my my rotation.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Wow, you got it down, and I got it down because.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Like I mean, I never know, and people will be like, yo,
- 56:20Speaker 3: can you come djaying in the Hamptons this weekend and
- 56:23Speaker 3: you're going to open for Diplo or Nora or whatever.
- 56:26Speaker 3: It's like, all right, it's fine, what else? Am I
- 56:28Speaker 3: really good? Right? I'm not doing anything?
- 56:32Speaker 1: So never no, Wow, you always say yes.
- 56:36Speaker 3: Yes, I love it usually usually, but also like you know,
- 56:40Speaker 3: it's balancing with that self care, that down time, that
- 56:44Speaker 3: friend time, and like eventually I'm going to have the
- 56:46Speaker 3: start dating. You have it all figured out.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Yeah, we got you. I want to tell you that
- 56:52Speaker 2: I run the alumni association of my performing arts high
- 56:55Speaker 2: school Miami called the New World School of the Arts,
- 56:57Speaker 2: and I definitely want to invite you to speak to
- 56:58Speaker 2: the kids at some point, you know, at the school,
- 57:01Speaker 2: because they would love to honor You're phenomenal and they
- 57:04Speaker 2: would be totally inspired, and you have so much to
- 57:06Speaker 2: bring to the table. I think these young eighteen year
- 57:08Speaker 2: old kids as they going to their senior year, they're
- 57:11Speaker 2: super talented. They'll go off to Broadway or Juliard or
- 57:14Speaker 2: you know, Cooper Union or Pratt whatever they could, you know,
- 57:16Speaker 2: and I think you sharing your story and your journey
- 57:19Speaker 2: I think would be phenomenal. So I would love to
- 57:21Speaker 2: invite you at some point this year to come speak
- 57:23Speaker 2: to them. Thank you.
- 57:24Speaker 3: I would be honored to do that. So you just
- 57:26Speaker 3: let me know that it is good and I will
- 57:28Speaker 3: be there.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 57:29Speaker 3: That's part of my whole mission, right, is giving back. Right,
- 57:32Speaker 3: So they did the whole fun cool thing. I wanted
- 57:35Speaker 3: to travel and see the world and meet interesting people
- 57:37Speaker 3: and play music and party and have fun. And it's
- 57:40Speaker 3: like that's all great. I'm not going to give all
- 57:43Speaker 3: that up. But I really love this point now where
- 57:45Speaker 3: it's like, Okay, I've codified everything I've learned. Here's how
- 57:48Speaker 3: we can actually make this work a little bit of
- 57:51Speaker 3: a better place, one person at a time.
- 57:52Speaker 2: Oh.
- 57:53Speaker 1: I love it. And you know what you have to
- 57:55Speaker 1: I'm totally into. You have to find something that you
- 57:59Speaker 1: love and if you can make money at it, that's
- 58:01Speaker 1: even better. But the giving back and you to be
- 58:05Speaker 1: a full person. You have to be you know, thriving
- 58:09Speaker 1: in your business, but also those parts of you where
- 58:12Speaker 1: you kind of get back to your center.
- 58:15Speaker 3: Yep, yeah, exactly.
- 58:17Speaker 2: This is amazing. We're very grateful to have you on
- 58:20Speaker 2: because you have so much light, so many amazing things,
- 58:22Speaker 2: and I can tell you probably inspire a lot of
- 58:24Speaker 2: young people and a lot of young women, So that's awesome.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Yes, thank you for being on our podcast. Thank you
- 58:30Speaker 1: for shutting knowledge, and thank you for entertaining me on
- 58:33Speaker 1: the Big Shot.
- 58:35Speaker 3: Thank you so much, guys. You guys are amazing. It's
- 58:38Speaker 3: been my pleasure.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Thank you, my love. Did I not tell you that
- 58:41Speaker 1: she was going to be a good guest?
- 58:42Speaker 2: I had no idea, By the way, what an inspiration
- 58:45Speaker 2: for people like so happy and so positive? She reminds
- 58:49Speaker 2: me of your assistant. Yeah, but no, but you know
- 58:54Speaker 2: what I liked about her, Like forget that the show
- 58:56Speaker 2: is so cool like you say, and I'm now going
- 58:58Speaker 2: to watch it, But she's just like, has so much
- 59:01Speaker 2: passion you could see to inspire people. And I love that.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Good energy, good energy.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Great great guests, great choice.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Thank you guys again for listening to another episode of
