Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hello, guys, welcome to Almost Famous.
- 0:08Speaker 3: And the OG and the It's like DJ and the Bear.
- 0:11Speaker 4: Hi.
- 0:13Speaker 2: So we're here to talk about Jason Tartic and Kat
- 0:16Speaker 2: Stickler's breakup.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Yes. So I'm really bummed about this.
- 0:23Speaker 4: I mean, obviously, I know we have to talk about
- 0:25Speaker 4: it because it is Bachelor Nation news, and I get it.
- 0:28Speaker 2: But it's like, you know, only half Bachelor Nation news.
- 0:31Speaker 3: That's true, it's only half news.
- 0:32Speaker 2: What happened, Like when did it become like if there
- 0:37Speaker 2: was a Bachelor person involved, it was still a Bachelor
- 0:41Speaker 2: Nation couple because that's what they just like, shouldn't it
- 0:44Speaker 2: just separate off?
- 0:46Speaker 4: Yeah, it should be like just a separate breaking news
- 0:48Speaker 4: for two personas in the year.
- 0:53Speaker 2: If Jason had never dated Caitlin, this wouldn't really have
- 0:56Speaker 2: been news. But he really stayed in such a relevant
- 0:59Speaker 2: battle for so long.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Oh that's very true. And you know it's funny. When
- 1:04Speaker 4: he first started dating Cat, I actually was like I
- 1:06Speaker 4: didn't know who she was, and I was like, wow,
- 1:09Speaker 4: she kind of resembles Caitlin a little like in my mind,
- 1:12Speaker 4: like I thought they kind of resembled one another. I
- 1:15Speaker 4: wouldn't say they looked alike, but they had like both
- 1:19Speaker 4: had these bubbly personalities, both bruts both.
- 1:21Speaker 3: You know, maybe that's why I thought that.
- 1:23Speaker 4: I don't know, but anyway, Yes, it's official, they are
- 1:28Speaker 4: broken up. I owe him a phone call, actually, and
- 1:32Speaker 4: I will do that.
- 1:33Speaker 2: You're saying that you owe the phone call to say I'm.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Sorry that you to hear about your breakup.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Okay, So that means you guys are close enough for
- 1:41Speaker 2: you to make a phone call like that.
- 1:43Speaker 4: I mean, I think we're I wouldn't say we're We're
- 1:46Speaker 4: not like you know, it's not like we're like besties
- 1:49Speaker 4: and we call each other every day. But whenever we
- 1:51Speaker 4: see each other at things or whenever we something happens,
- 1:54Speaker 4: it's relevant in the other person's life.
- 1:56Speaker 3: We both reached out. I love his mom because you know,
- 1:58Speaker 3: he did the Today Show panel with me few times.
- 2:00Speaker 4: That's how he and I and that's where he broke
- 2:03Speaker 4: that he and Caitlin were a couple actually, and uh
- 2:06Speaker 4: it was with with with Kathy Lean Hodah and so
- 2:09Speaker 4: you know, I feel like I was a part of
- 2:10Speaker 4: that journey a little bit there, and you know, not
- 2:13Speaker 4: so much a part of this one. I never met Kat,
- 2:15Speaker 4: but you know, I was rooting for them. But I
- 2:19Speaker 4: gotta think it's hard, you know, Like I was thinking
- 2:21Speaker 4: about this the other day. You know, I make like
- 2:24Speaker 4: I literally I've had the conversations with people and they'll go,
- 2:27Speaker 4: you know, are you into what we call online dating?
- 2:30Speaker 3: And I'm like, no, I do deald fashion. I go
- 2:32Speaker 3: on a TV showing him not flowers.
- 2:35Speaker 2: But also, like, you haven't been dating in quite some time.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I haven't be dating in a very long time. Although
- 2:40Speaker 3: I'm trying to date my wife again to let her.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Know we should do that too.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Yeah, it's tough with kids at these ages, you know.
- 2:47Speaker 4: But uh yeah, So I was so hopeful for these two,
- 2:49Speaker 4: but I also realized how difficult it had to be
- 2:52Speaker 4: because they're both they both become uh you know Instagram
- 2:57Speaker 4: people write or or TikTok people or whatever.
- 2:59Speaker 2: It's like, well, that's what she's known for, yeah, you know,
- 3:03Speaker 2: as being a social media She's an influencer who really
- 3:08Speaker 2: gardnered her own audience. You know, she didn't come from
- 3:11Speaker 2: the show.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Right, which is huge.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I mean, that's her career and I've.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Got to believe that it's difficult, you know, Like like
- 3:19Speaker 4: I watched the video that she posted about their breakup,
- 3:22Speaker 4: and she looked like the last thing in the world
- 3:24Speaker 4: she wanted to talk about, you know, And I don't
- 3:26Speaker 4: know what that means other than I'm sure it's it's
- 3:30Speaker 4: it's not it's not brand new, right, because, like she said,
- 3:32Speaker 4: she's waited for a couple of the hurricanes that passed
- 3:35Speaker 4: by before she posted something, which I think is pretty
- 3:37Speaker 4: mindful and says a lot about her to to, you know,
- 3:42Speaker 4: not think that the world revolves around her.
- 3:43Speaker 3: And she posts something in the middle of a you know,
- 3:46Speaker 3: natural disaster. Yeah, good for her on that.
- 3:49Speaker 4: And then you know, and then you read what Jason wrote,
- 3:52Speaker 4: and it's like, you know, he he seems like he's
- 3:56Speaker 4: really lamenting the moment, and she almost I don't know,
- 3:59Speaker 4: I don't know what's going on. I don't know if
- 4:00Speaker 4: she looks like she's just sort of I mean, she
- 4:03Speaker 4: hasn't really much choice, right, She's a mom.
- 4:05Speaker 3: She doesn't have time to like sit around the wallow.
- 4:07Speaker 4: She's got to get back in the mix with her
- 4:09Speaker 4: child and be present and be you know, you can't
- 4:13Speaker 4: sit in the couch and eat you know, a couple
- 4:15Speaker 4: of cases of hoggindash for a month to get yourself
- 4:18Speaker 4: over a breakup. You got a kid that needs you,
- 4:20Speaker 4: so you're back in the mix. You know, I don't
- 4:23Speaker 4: know what are your thoughts. I mean, you're a woman,
- 4:24Speaker 4: you've gone through this kind of thing, and you know,
- 4:27Speaker 4: what do you think when you when you see both
- 4:29Speaker 4: sides of this?
- 4:30Speaker 2: Yeah, so hers is obviously we feel more emotionally because
- 4:34Speaker 2: we see her and we hear her when she's talking
- 4:35Speaker 2: about it. She says it's mutual in the video. There's
- 4:39Speaker 2: two sides of this. You can say, oh, it's mutual
- 4:42Speaker 2: and like both people are going to be sad, or
- 4:45Speaker 2: you can try to spin it the juice her way,
- 4:49Speaker 2: I suppose, and be like, she seems quite upset. Doesn't
- 4:52Speaker 2: seem mutual. Yeah, And you know, I don't want to
- 4:55Speaker 2: make a lot of judgments there. We really don't know
- 4:58Speaker 2: at all what happened. Jason said in his statement that
- 5:01Speaker 2: he's a guy that like falls hard and falls fast,
- 5:04Speaker 2: and sometimes falling in love like that doesn't always work out.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I think he's like kind of referring to his relationship
- 5:12Speaker 2: with Caitlin in that sense too, just because he kind
- 5:14Speaker 2: of like makes it a general statement, right, But the
- 5:19Speaker 2: two of them have been together for I want to
- 5:21Speaker 2: say it was like nine months. I think they were
- 5:23Speaker 2: first spotted on vacation and December or January together. I
- 5:26Speaker 2: know Ben had dinner with him, and I think February
- 5:29Speaker 2: the two of them, and then they announced their relationship,
- 5:33Speaker 2: and we'll have the dates in front of me. But
- 5:35Speaker 2: I sometimes earning a spring, and so much of their
- 5:39Speaker 2: relationship was public, and there was so much love bombing
- 5:45Speaker 2: on social media where it's like just so many tiktoks
- 5:50Speaker 2: and reels of them showing how into each other they were,
- 5:53Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden it stops, and we
- 5:56Speaker 2: get that you have to do you know, it's kind
- 5:59Speaker 2: of you don't have to do it, but we get
- 6:01Speaker 2: that as two influencers, it's beneficial to show your love
- 6:06Speaker 2: like that if it's you know, you'd like to think true.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And yeah, I'm sure it was very very true. We
- 6:13Speaker 2: have no idea why they broke up, like I said,
- 6:15Speaker 2: and we probably will never will. Yeah, she wants to
- 6:21Speaker 2: reveal some things on her end. I don't think Jason
- 6:23Speaker 2: will ever say anything.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I always say there's three sides to every story. There's
- 6:27Speaker 3: her side his side and the truth right, So.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Like, and that's I really believe that not just in breakups,
- 6:33Speaker 4: but in arguments and you know, whatever it might be.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Is like there's always there's always some great area where.
- 6:39Speaker 4: We're all interpreting things a little bit differently than one another,
- 6:41Speaker 4: and you got to hope that somehow that just sort
- 6:44Speaker 4: of mixes in the middle and it's it's all good.
- 6:46Speaker 4: But you know, in a situation like this, I think,
- 6:49Speaker 4: you know, obviously she's she's very busy with her you know,
- 6:53Speaker 4: social media career.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Like you said, this isn't a hobby for her. This
- 6:56Speaker 3: is this is she's really popular and really well known
- 7:00Speaker 3: and really established.
- 7:02Speaker 4: And she's she's a mom, you know, and so I
- 7:04Speaker 4: would imagine as she strikes me as someone who would
- 7:07Speaker 4: be a really hands on parent. It seems, I mean,
- 7:11Speaker 4: as much as you can be, you know, when you're
- 7:13Speaker 4: not with your child all the time. So you know,
- 7:16Speaker 4: I would guess that you you know, your kid always
- 7:18Speaker 4: comes first, and you you would hope that that's you know,
- 7:21Speaker 4: the thing.
- 7:21Speaker 3: So I wonder if that has anything to do with anything.
- 7:23Speaker 2: That probably makes it harder for her. I'm sure that
- 7:26Speaker 2: she didn't want to one introduce Jason to her. I'm
- 7:30Speaker 2: sure he stayed. I don't I'm just assuming things, but
- 7:33Speaker 2: I'm sure he stayed at their house at some point.
- 7:37Speaker 2: And you know, she did put the relationship out there
- 7:42Speaker 2: so much with with having a child, and that's totally fine.
- 7:45Speaker 2: But I'm just saying that, like I think that she
- 7:46Speaker 2: probably was, like I thought that this would have more longevity,
- 7:51Speaker 2: yeah than yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Yeah, because you know they always say that, like people
- 7:56Speaker 4: say say, like I didn't introduce them to my kids
- 7:58Speaker 4: for six months, you know, I was like, Okay, maybe
- 8:01Speaker 4: we're at that point or something, you know, yeah, yeah,
- 8:04Speaker 4: thank you, right.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I feel for her on that, and especially since she's
- 8:08Speaker 2: probably that's what she's probably getting in the comments like
- 8:10Speaker 2: why did you you know, why did you allow your
- 8:14Speaker 2: daughter to be so involved in that relationship. So that's
- 8:17Speaker 2: what sucks for her, But and it sucks just in
- 8:20Speaker 2: general that like you have to deal with something like
- 8:22Speaker 2: that when you do have a career like she does.
- 8:24Speaker 2: But you know, then you also have to think about
- 8:25Speaker 2: the benefits of a career like we all have. And
- 8:28Speaker 2: it's just like it's the best job in the entire world,
- 8:31Speaker 2: but does come with its downsides, and that being one
- 8:34Speaker 2: of them.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, there's definitely a downside to it.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Well, I guess you're right, we're probably never gonna know.
- 8:49Speaker 4: I mean, maybe it is am a call amongst both
- 8:52Speaker 4: of them, and you know, maybe you know, who knows,
- 8:56Speaker 4: Maybe there's a light at the end of the tunnel
- 8:58Speaker 4: at some point for them as well.
- 8:59Speaker 3: You never, no, I guess. But doesn't seem like her
- 9:01Speaker 3: right now if you're reading.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Her message as I don't know her personally at all,
- 9:07Speaker 2: and you know I've only seen Jason on a occasion. Yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 2: I still feel like I can talk about Jason's future romances,
- 9:15Speaker 2: more so because he's part of Bachelor Nation. So I'm
- 9:18Speaker 2: not even going to dabble with her. But what what
- 9:21Speaker 2: do you see is next for Jason? Do you think
- 9:23Speaker 2: he's going to be single for a while or do
- 9:26Speaker 2: you think that he's gonna date somebody else in the
- 9:30Speaker 2: public eye? He gonna date somebody bribe it, you.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Know, I will say this so having been someone who
- 9:38Speaker 4: dated publicly and got married publicly and then divorced publicly,
- 9:43Speaker 4: you know, the hardest thing is is something like this,
- 9:47Speaker 4: you know, like I remember going into the grocery store
- 9:50Speaker 4: and I'm sitting there all heartbroken and I walk in
- 9:51Speaker 4: and you know, and my ex wife and I are
- 9:54Speaker 4: on the cover of you know, us Weekly, and you know, with.
- 9:57Speaker 3: A rip down the Meddle, and I'm just like, oh geez,
- 9:59Speaker 3: you know.
- 10:00Speaker 4: And I made the conscious choice after that that I
- 10:03Speaker 4: was like, you know, even if I do date someone
- 10:05Speaker 4: in the public eye, which I did, I'm like, I'm
- 10:07Speaker 4: not gonna be public about it, you know, And so
- 10:09Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm gonna try and keep something to myself
- 10:11Speaker 4: for a little while. And I would say, you know,
- 10:15Speaker 4: you know, for for Jason in particular, like you said,
- 10:17Speaker 4: I don't know cats, so I won't speak to that,
- 10:18Speaker 4: but Jason in particular, I do know him, and he's
- 10:21Speaker 4: gone through too.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Pretty public now, you know, breakups, and you know, maybe
- 10:26Speaker 3: maybe it is.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Time to try and not be so out there with
- 10:30Speaker 4: it and see if that helps, you know, or maybe
- 10:33Speaker 4: you know, And you definitely have every right to say that, right,
- 10:36Speaker 4: you definitely have.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Every right to go, I'm gonna take my time on
- 10:38Speaker 3: this next one.
- 10:38Speaker 4: And I was gonna, you know, I'm gonna wait before
- 10:40Speaker 4: I put it out there because I don't want people commenting.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Even if that's why you're not doing it. It's just
- 10:45Speaker 3: to keep you know.
- 10:46Speaker 4: Everybody at home, just to sort of keep their mouths
- 10:47Speaker 4: shut for a little bit and give me a chance
- 10:49Speaker 4: to have a relationship that develops at a normal pace
- 10:51Speaker 4: as opposed to a highly accelerated pace, which I think
- 10:54Speaker 4: that's what social media does.
- 10:56Speaker 3: It takes at next level really fast. You know. So
- 10:59Speaker 3: I don't know that that would my thoughts.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Well, the next thing we can hopefully get is an
- 11:04Speaker 2: answer from one of them at some point. I'm sure
- 11:06Speaker 2: Jason will come on the podcast, you know, when this
- 11:09Speaker 2: is less relevant news, but always interested to know what
- 11:12Speaker 2: happens in relationships. You know. I've because I'm a noseybody,
- 11:14Speaker 2: and you know, this podcast, while we try to keep
- 11:17Speaker 2: it classy, it really is a gossip podcast. And that
- 11:20Speaker 2: is fine.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Yeah, we do try to keep it classy San Diego,
- 11:25Speaker 4: but we often Yeah, Well, let me ask you this.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Are you are you prepared to break your news here
- 11:34Speaker 3: on our podcast of what you did last night?
- 11:36Speaker 2: Oh that I met justin Timberlake last night? What guys?
- 11:42Speaker 2: I posted the video on Instagram. You can see the
- 11:44Speaker 2: whole one minute in fifteen second interaction. I think that's
- 11:48Speaker 2: officially meeting somebody, and thank you to everybody who took
- 11:51Speaker 2: video of his interaction. I can't believe that I was
- 11:55Speaker 2: just like talking to him from the stage. It was
- 11:58Speaker 2: just the most unreal moment of my life, A true
- 12:03Speaker 2: fangirl's dream come true.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Did he know who you were? Or did he?
- 12:06Speaker 2: I always used to say, like, you know, I don't
- 12:09Speaker 2: know how I feel about meeting your like idols.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Heroes.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yeah, heroes is like a strong word, you know. I
- 12:14Speaker 2: wouldn't call it just a hero, but like definitely an idol,
- 12:18Speaker 2: And it was. It was. It was everything I could
- 12:21Speaker 2: have imagined and hopeful.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I love that so good.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I can watch the video over and over again. But
- 12:27Speaker 2: to be honest, I was like scared to watch the
- 12:29Speaker 2: video once I left the arena because I was like,
- 12:32Speaker 2: what if I'm not cool? What if it's not as
- 12:34Speaker 2: good as I thought it was in real life? And
- 12:36Speaker 2: it was. It came across on video wonderfully as well.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Was it a setup moment or was it just a
- 12:41Speaker 3: total organic moment?
- 12:43Speaker 2: Total organic moment. My friend who I went with wrote
- 12:46Speaker 2: a sign that said I delivered her baby on your
- 12:51Speaker 2: birthday because I went with my midwife. Oh my gosh,
- 12:54Speaker 2: and Dawson was born on Justin's birthday, and I kind
- 12:58Speaker 2: of knew that that sign that we had second row
- 13:00Speaker 2: seats might garner a little attention from him. All right, Well,
- 13:05Speaker 2: now my kid, who was born on Justin Tipla's birthday,
- 13:08Speaker 2: is yelling at me to get him another piece of pizza,
- 13:10Speaker 2: so I guess I'll have to.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Go that mom duty calls. All right, we have a
- 13:14Speaker 3: great night. Thanks everybody for listening to Almost Famous and
