- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Welcome to life.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Finance and real estate.
- 0:05SPEAKER_01: How to make smart money moves.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: The ever changing real estate market, and of course, things going on in life.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: Hit it on the morning with you is your home.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Hey family, hey family, hey family.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Life Finance and Real Estate with the girl Kirby the Realtor.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Yep, that's me.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: I'm Kirby.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: And I'm so glad you are here with me today because this show is for people who are ready to stop just talking and start doing.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Y'all, this is a space for real conversation about how life decisions affect your money, how money decisions affect your peace, and how ownership really starts long before real estate ever enters the picture.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: This show exists to help you stop guessing, stop reacting, and start leading your life with intentions built on structure, it's built on discipline and personal responsibility.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: I created this show because y'all, I've lived everything we talked about the last seven weeks.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: I have lived it.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: Do you hear me?
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: I made the mistakes.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: We don't need motivation.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: You need directions.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: You need a plan.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: You need someone to slow this down and break it apart in a way that actually feels doable.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: You don't want to be overwhelmed.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: But if you're looking for shortcuts and you're looking for someone to, I don't know, stroke your ego, well, life and finance, life, finance, and real estate, this is not the place for you because we don't do that here.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: But if you're looking for structure, if you're looking for understanding, and you're looking for tools you can actually apply to your life, then guess what?
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: You are exactly where you need to be.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: We're gonna talk about life, we're gonna talk about finances, and we're gonna talk about ownership in a way that's very real, practical, and honest.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: So I need you to take a deep breath, settle in, get your pens, get your pencils, papers, recorders, like, share, tag, email.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: I don't just just do something, okay?
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: And I appreciate you taking out your lunch breaks or whatever you're doing to tune in.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: But before we jump into today's episode, I want to slow this down a bit.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I want to reset the foundation because every week we have new listeners that are tuning in.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: And I believe that it's very, very important that people don't just hear the words I use, but actually understand what they look like in real life.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: You hear words all the time, and you're like, what does that mean?
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: And sometimes you can hear a word and it has two meanings to it, depending on the setting or what context you use it in.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: But I just need y'all to know that confidence comes from understanding.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: So you can't be confident in what you do uh if you don't understand it.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: So I want to break everything down to you so that you can understand.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Let me start with why I created this show.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: And I don't do this every week um because I have extra time.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: I don't do it because it's it's gonna bring me fame or whatever.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: I do this because of the experience and the things that I've gone through and have gone through, and from me learning from things because this is what I've lived through, y'all.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Because I've made the mistakes, I've learned the lessons, still learning lessons, but I've learned them and I figured out what actually works.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: So my goal is simple.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: I want to cut your learning curve, I want to help you get structure.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: That's why I opened my real estate business.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: I wanted to cut the learning curve.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: What took me seven to eight years of being in the business, I want my agents to learn that the first year because nobody took my hand and actually showed me the business business.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: I'm so grateful for my real estate mentors.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: They've shared things with how, you know, like the professional side and the forums.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: But other things that I didn't know, I had to learn them.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: And it took years of learning, years to get to where I am.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: And I want to cut the learning curve.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: That is that is why we do it.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: So that's why I created this show.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: I wanted to help you get structured and cut your learning curve because once you actually sit down and look at your life, look at your finances, this stuff is not complicated, guys.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: It is so simple.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: It's very simple, but simple doesn't always mean easy.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Because I'm gonna tell you that what I spend sheet is so simple.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: But it's not easy because it makes you think, it makes you categorize things, it makes you be like, where does this go?
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Because I do this.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Does it go under personal care, personal grooming?
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: You know, it makes you think.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: It's not easy, but it requires discipline.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: It requires you to sit down and write it down.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: So this show is not just about real estate, it's about ownership, ownership of your life, ownership of your decisions, ownership of your time, your effort, and your financial future.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: That's why I say I want you to become the chief financial officer, also known as the CFO.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: So when you hear on this show, when you hear me say the CFCO of your life, it's the same as saying the chief financial officer of your life.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: I want you to become the CFO of your own life and your own personal economy.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: So over the last several shows, we talked about order, we talked about stability, structure, consistency, systems, mindset, discipline, and accountability.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: So as we move forward, we're gonna unpack each of these things, not just in theory, but in real life.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: And let me break this down very, very clearly.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: When I say order, I don't mean perfection, I mean awareness.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: And order starts with knowing your number.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: That looks like filling out a what I spend sheet.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: Not what you think you spend, not what you hope you spend, but what you actually spend.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: It means pulling your bank, pulling up your bank statements and credit card statements and writing down your income, your fixed expenses, your variable expenses, and your subscriptions, and your debt payments.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: Order is sitting at the table with the truth instead of avoiding it.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: And and uh, if you've been on this show the last few weeks, you've heard me say you cannot unsee it.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: You can't unsee it.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: So when you look at your finances and look at where you are and you see it, you can't unsee it.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: But now you have clarity, you can see it.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: So if you don't know where your money is going, your money is in control, and order is taking control back, and that's what I need you guys to understand.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: Order is taking control back.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: Stability is not having more money, and we talked about stability.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: Stability is not you having more money, stability is about consistency.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: Stability looks like bills being paid on time because you know when they're due.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: Stability looks like being surprised by expenses.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: You already knew were coming.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: You shouldn't be surprised by expenses.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: You already knew were coming.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: Because if you think about setting a budget, and I told if y'all have been on this show and I have to do a budget for the month, I just cringe sometimes.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: But it's a part of stability.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: When you do your monthly budget, that's a part of your stability because you know what bills are coming due.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: You know what's expected to come out of your accounts because you wrote down your monthly budget.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: And you may not be where you want to be yet, but you're not bracing yourself every month either.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: You're still you're stable because you already have an idea.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: You know, this is what I have to make each month to maintain the lifestyle that I live.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: And what is your life?
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: What does it look like?
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: Like, what does your lifestyle look like?
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: And not just the I mean, you look at your necessities, right?
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Look at things that you have to have to live, and then you look at the things that you like to do.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: And if your your lifestyle is here, what does your income look like?
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: What what does all of this look like?
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: You need stability.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: Then we talked about structure.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: What structure actually looks like?
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: Structure.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: Structure is the systems you put around your money and your life.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: Structure looks like designating bill pay dates, separating your bill money from your spending money, scheduling your weekly or monthly money check-ins.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: Like, let me give an example of what that looks like.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: If you know that, okay, so let's just say you have your money for the week, what you're gonna eat, your bills that are coming out, and then you meet back up every Sunday.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: If you're married, you meet back up with your spouse, or if you have roommates, y'all meet back up and y'all talk about your, you know, your spending for that week.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: So that's your weekly check-ins.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: If you do it monthly, you do the same thing, your monthly check-ins, knowing how much is available before you spend.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Structure y'all is a protection, it keeps emotions from running the show.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: When I say emotion, you ever heard people say I was depressed and I just went shopping and I went crazy.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: They ran their credit cards up, they emotionally shopped.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Like they shopped, knowing they didn't have money, or they went online just ordering stuff.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: I've been there and I've done it.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: I don't really like to go in stores and go shopping.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: I just prefer the online shopping and it comes to my daughter.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: But I have been guilty of allowing my emotions to run the show.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: So, as we all as we talked about some previous shows, hope is not a strategy.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: You can't hope your way into financial freedom.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: You have to build a structure that supports it.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: And on last week I mentioned the word margin.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: So, what does margin actually look like, Kirby?
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: I'm glad you asked.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: See, margin is where freedom begins.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: And I'll give you an example.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: If you bring home$3,000 a month and you spend$3,500, you don't have a money problem.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: You have a what problem?
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: An order problem.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Margin looks like bringing home$3,000 a month and only spending$2,500.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: That extra$500, that is your margin.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: Margin is what allows you to create an emergency and opportunity fund because not everything that happens in life is an emergency.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: Some things are opportunities.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: And when you don't have margin, everything feels urgent to you.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: You feel like I got it, I got it, I got it.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: If I don't, if I don't, I miss out, whatever.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Everything in life is not an emergency.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: And I need you to understand that.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: And as I teach my twins, when they say, Mommy, can we, can we?
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, is that a necessity or is that just a wall?
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: Is that something you have to have or you just want it?
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Because, you know, I make them think.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: And then, hey, do you want to spend your money?
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: Because listen, if you don't have margins, I mean, with margins, emergence, when you have margins, when emergencies come up, you're not stressed out because you have the money set aside.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: Emergencies become very manageable because you can say, okay, in my emergency funds, I have X, Y, Z.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: That is what margin looks like.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: We also discussed discipline and accountability.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: You can't build greatness by skipping the grind.
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: I heard someone say that not long ago.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: People love to talk about goals, but discipline is what turns goals into reality.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Without discipline, your dreams stay dreams, baby.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Like you don't have discipline to get up and get it and do it.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: Your dreams are gonna stay dreamed.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: And too many people avoid the accountability part of that.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: They avoid, they don't want accountability.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: You can't blame others for where you are in life.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: Look at your life right now.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: Look at where you are.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: And yeah, I know sometimes things happen.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: But you, if you were honest with yourself and ask yourself, how did I get here?
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: And if you learn to take accountability for what has happened, like what you cause to do, like look in the mirror and ask yourself, am I here because of the choices I made?
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: And I'm I'm talking about on a financial level, not just a, you know, like an emotional thing.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about financially wise.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Look in the mirror and say, Am I here because of the choices I made?
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: Because I can remember a time when I had to do this, and it it I was in a season where things just were not right, like financially wise, money was coming in, going out, and I was stressed.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: I was, I just it was a strain.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: And I had to come to the realization, like, you got all this excess dead.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: It was the time where I had all these credit cards, y'all, and I had them because of emotional spending, that what I just talked about.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: Um, I had them because things I wanted, or people wanted things that were not emergencies, but I still did it.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: So when I looked at my, you know, even though life was happening, life was lifeing, the choices that I made prior to all of that, and to acquire that that I was in the space I was because of the choices that I made.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: I had to own my actions.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: So I I want you to do that.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: I want you to look in the mirror and I want you to say, am I here because of the choices I made?
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: I want you to own your actions.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: Own your time, own your effort.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Every single day, you have two choices.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna make excuses or are you gonna make progress?
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: And I I don't know.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: I think I heard Steve Harvey make say that one time.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: But are you gonna make excuses or are you gonna make um progress?
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: It feels good at the moment to then make an excuse.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: It does, it feels good, but excuse is still your future.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: And I'm just gonna say it because I always say it, and people tell me not to, but excuses are like buttholes, and everybody has one.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: So progress may feel uncomfortable today, y'all, but it builds pride and confidence tomorrow.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: Discipline and accountability go hand in hand, and a disability person without accountability becomes mechanical, and an accountable person without discipline becomes consistent, inconsistent.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: And together they create an unstoppable momentum, but when you have one without the other, it is pure chaos, okay?
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: I need you to create standards for yourself.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: I need you to create standards for yourself, standards that don't change because of moods.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: And sometimes people say, you know, they may be in this mood because this or because of that, or they don't want to do this or that.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: And I often feel like well, your drive is not there, you're not motivated enough.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: Um there's another thing one of my mentors say that nail didn't hurt, must didn't hurt.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: And if you that story, y'all know, let me give y'all a recap of that because it's a story about a dog howling and barking, howling, you know, and this guy was walking by and the owner was on the porch minding his business, and the guy was walking by and the dog was, you know, making all this noise.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: And the guy was like, Why is this dog making this noise?
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: And like, what's wrong with him?
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: And the owner was like, Well, he's sitting on a nail.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: And the person walking was like, What?
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it must not hurt bad enough because he's still sitting there.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: So basically, the the dog was hurting, making a noise, moaning, and groaning, but he never got up, he never did anything.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: So he it he just he didn't do nothing.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: He was sitting on his booty.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: So, anyway, that's that's that's that story when I tell you when you hear me talk about sitting on that nail long enough, but create standards for yourself that doesn't change based on your moods.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: There's days where I don't want to get out the bed.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: There's days where I'm tired, and my babies say, Mommy, you work so hard.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Mommy, you're not feeling good.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: Why don't you stay home, mommy?
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Baby, mommy gotta work.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: And I hope that one day they learn from that.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: But mommy has to work, which means no matter how I'm feeling, I know I still gotta get up and get it.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: Create routines that make progress automatic.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Getting up in the morning and doing the work when no one is watching.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: Y'all, that is discipline.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: When no one is watching, doing things when no one else is watching, the working out, the exercising, the reading books, the building your crafts and waking up before the sun rises, like doing things, creating discipline, admitting your mistakes and fixing them instead of blaming someone else.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: That's accountability.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: Um, and a good book for that, what was that book I read?
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Oh, it was called uh QBQ, the question behind the question.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: It's an accountability book.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: So if you're if you're if you want to learn more about accountability or want a good book to read, QBQ, question behind a question, admitting your mistakes and fixing them instead of blaming someone else.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: Remember that.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: Saying I don't feel like it, but I'll do it anyway.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: That's the that's the building power.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: That's your learn, that's you learning to trust yourself to do what you promise.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: And that trust changeth everything.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: Growth only begins where comfort ends.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: We talked about that.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: You gotta get uncomfortable.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: You can't always, you can't always be comfortable.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: If you're always comfortable where you are, you're not growing.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: Growth isn't a smooth process, it's not predictable.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: Life is designed to test us, y'all, not to break us.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: I mean, you can get there.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: I last year, y'all.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: I can tell y'all, last year was a almost a I felt like I was gonna break, but it was just developing me, it was developing a better leader, it was developing a better person.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: So I'm encouraging you, every time you face something hard, don't quit.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Because when you don't quit, you come out stronger.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: That's that is development, that is self-development.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Progress doesn't happen in easy seasons, it happens on purpose.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Pain has a purpose and it's there to develop you.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: Think about the grape being crushed or the olives being crushed, it develops something good.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: Growth isn't about being perfect, it's about being willing.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: Now, now that the foundation is set, let's move in today's episode, y'all.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: But I just wanted to recap my new listeners and and some of you that have been with me since the beginning.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: Just recap so that you can understand why this show was created and also understand some of the terms and things that we say throughout the show so that you can get a better understanding and begin, you know, flow with us, and you can break it down to your peers.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: But let's get into episode eight.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Episode eight is why people stay stuck even when they know better.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: And the the real issue is most people aren't stuck because they lack the information, they're stuck because they don't act on what they already know.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: Listen to podcasts, you read those books, you pray, you journal, and you still feel like you're running in circles.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: I wonder why.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: Tell me why.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: You feel like you're running in circles.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: Tell me why, kids.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: Just think about it.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: Why am I still going in circus?
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: Because growth asks you to sit still long enough to be honest with yourself.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: And honesty makes people very uncomfortable.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: People don't like to be honest.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: Think about it.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: Think about when you have to really be honest with yourself.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: Did I do X, Y, and Z?
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: Was it really this person's fault or was it my fault?
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: I talk to people all the time who say, I know what I need to do.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: I already know, I just ain't done it yet.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: And if that's you, shame on you.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: We've all been there.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: I know what I need to do, I just have not done it yet.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: You're avoiding.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: You're avoiding what you need to do.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: Let's let's be honest here.
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: Because facing your habits forces you to admit.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: What hasn't been working.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: You have to face your habits.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: If you just took, I want y'all to take a do two weeks, because one week may not be enough.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: Honestly, you can do two or three days and you're gonna you'll be able to see your habits.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: But I just I need you to do this.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: I need you to start tracking what you do on a daily basis.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: And I mean for like eight hours on a daily basis.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: Every hour on the hour, track what you actually do.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: Track what you do so you can see where your time is spent.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: I want you to do that.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: I know it may feel awkward, it may feel unfamiliar, but do it.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: Just do it because what you will begin to see is that you don't have a money issue.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: You don't have a money issue, you don't have a leadership issue.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: It's an internal thing.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: Leadership always starts internally.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Facing your habits force you to admit what hasn't been working.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: Growth starts when comfort ends, and many people turn around the moment things begin to feel unfamiliar and awkward.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: I need y'all, I need you to just look in the mirror and face it.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: Face those face your habits.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: Face those habits, face them, look them in the face and admit what hasn't been working.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: I need you to be the CFO of your mindset.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: What did I say CFO stands for?
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: Chief Financial Officer.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: I need you to be the CF CFO of your mindset.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Be the CFO of your mindset beyond money, because being the CFO of your life is not just about money.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: It's about how you manage your time, how you manage your energy, how your com how you manage your commitments and your emotional bandwidth.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: If your life feels scattered all the time, if you're always reacting and you're feeling stretched in and playing catch up, it's usually because too many things or people have access to you.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: You say yes too quickly.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: Too quick.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: You're afraid to say them two them two letters.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: No.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: You say yes too quick.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: You delay decisions you already have the answers to.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: You over-explain.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: You carry emotional weight.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: So if somebody say amen, because I know y'all feeling me here.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: You carry emotional weight that was never assigned to you.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: A CFO, y'all, doesn't operate like that.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: And to be honest, guess what?
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: I just learned this last year.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: You can't be a yes man.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: A CFO, a CFO, the chief financial officer of any business, they review things.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: They review the finances.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: They review patterns.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: They review.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: So you gotta be that CFO of your life.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: The CFO reviews, the CFO prioritizes, the CFO makes decisions early instead of dragging them out because they don't want to be caught.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: Most people in that CFO position are good planners.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: CFO understands capacity.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: They know if we have the capacity to do X, Y, and Z.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: People say they don't have time, but they never actually look at how their time is being spent.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: Look at how your time is being spent.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: Scrolling Facebook, scrolling Instagram, looking at TikTok reels.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: Just look at how your time, long conversations that go to nowhere.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: You don't, before you know you've been on the phone an hour talking about what?
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: What have you been talking about for an album 15 minutes?
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: Constantly available to people who don't pour back into you, but you're always available to them.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying you can't be there for folks, but y'all listen, you gotta be the CFO of your time.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: So be honest, it's not a scheduling problem, it's an access problem.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: Too many people have access to you.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: A CFO decides who or what, who gets access?
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: Are you the CFO of your life?
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: Ask yourself that.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: Make sure you write that down.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: Are you the chief financial officer of your life?
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: Are you?
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Let me give you.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: Y'all know I have to take it to the Bible.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: Luke chapter 14, verse 28 through 30, Jesus says, For which of you desiring to build a tower does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: Ooh, count the cost.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: Otherwise, when he laid a foundation and it is not able to finish, all you see it being mock him, begin to mock him, saying, This man began to build and was not able to finish.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: I need y'all to pop holes right there.
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: Jesus didn't say, he didn't say, he didn't say start building and then figure it out later.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: He didn't say move on emotion.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: He didn't say hope it works out.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: He said sit down first and count the cost.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: Make sure you can finish what you start.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: That's order.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: That's what order looks like.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: And that same principle applies to life, finance, and real estate.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: Too many people start things emotionally, and then they feel discouraged when they can't finish.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: And it's not because they are not capable, but because they never slowed down enough to plan.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: Plan.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: P-L-A-N.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: God did not criticize the desire to build, he emphasized the responsibility to prepare.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: And that's exactly what CFO thinking looks like.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Are you the CFO of your life?
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: Are you the CFO of your life?
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: Remember Joseph in the Bible.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: Joseph didn't interpret Pharaoh's dream.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: He created a plan.
- 27:50SPEAKER_00: Seven years of abundance, seven years of lack.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: So he didn't panic during the good years because he prepared.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: And y'all, that's wisdom.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: If you're out here making all this money and you've landed this great job, don't spend and go on all these trips and buy all these expensive things.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: I'm not telling you not to reward yourself, but don't be an impulsive spender.
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: Because if you look at the story of Joseph and Pharaoh, and that when Pharaoh had that dream, God rewarded Joseph because he he prepared.
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: Joseph, Joseph prepared.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: Yes, he was spiritual.
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we get too caught up there, but he was also practical.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: And I always say, God gives you common sense.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: You can pray all day long, but you have to have common sense.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Some people are praying for relief when God is asking just for you to be ready.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: Some are asking for increase.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: When God is simply asking you, can you just be disciplined?
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: Joseph didn't wait until the famous showed up to get serious.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: He acted early, y'all.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: That is CFO thinking.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: What does CFO means?
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: Chief Financial Officer.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: A lot of people have been asking me for my what I spend sheet.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: And I've been sending it out, and I've just been shocked that you know I've been getting emails, hey, can you shoot me that?
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: And it's it's done my heart good because I talk about this sheet.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: Let me say this for y'all.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: The sheet itself is not powerful.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: The sheet just shows you your patterns.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: And guess what?
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: Patterns tell the truth.
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: So if you've asked for it, save it.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: Feel it out.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: I don't want you just to save it on your computer and look at.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: I want you to feel it out because awareness without action keeps you stuck in the same place, and you need to become aware.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: Accountability without self-attack.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: Become accountable.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: What does that look like?
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: Am I here because of the choices I made?
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: And be honest with yourself.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: You say you want a different life, but your routines haven't changed in years.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: Accountability asks one question.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: What am I doing consistently to support the life I say I want?
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: And if that answer is nothing, you need a whole life adjustment.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: You need to re- you need just look, you just need to do a self-check.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: What are you avoiding?
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: What do I keep starting and stopping?
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: What system do I need instead of motivation?
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: Be honest.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: Because honestly, that's where change begins.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: If something's hitting home with y'all today, if you're feeling stuck or sure of your next step and you need directions, I need you to email me at KirbyTheRealtor at gmail.com.

- 31:00SPEAKER_00: It's about being willing to look at where you are.
- 31:05SPEAKER_00: Let me give you some homework.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: Your action items for this week is to schedule your CFO meeting.
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: One hour, no distractions.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: Fill out your that what I spend sheet.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: Look at your bank statements, identify one area, and create margin.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: Commit to reviewing your numbers either weekly or monthly.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: I need you to do that.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: And remember, ownership doesn't start when you buy something.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: It starts when you decide to face what's in front of you.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: Slow it down.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: Be honest.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: Do the work anyway.
- 31:36SPEAKER_00: We're building order, we're building discipline, we're building ownership.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: I need y'all to stay consistent, stay disciplined, and remember, ownership starts with you.
