- 0:00Did you know Micah Miller had two fathers fighting to save her
- 0:03life? Many of you know about Michael
- 0:06Francis, the one that's been a public figure in this case since
- 0:09the very beginning. But her stepfather, Michael
- 0:12Honeycutt, had a critical part fighting for Micah in the final
- 0:17months of her life. Michael Francis is Micah's
- 0:20stepfather, and he helped raise Micah in her teenage years and
- 0:25stayed very close with her until her final days.
- 0:29Now, for the first time ever, he sits down for his first public
- 0:34interview. So we're here with Michael
- 0:38Honeycutt, Micah's stepfather. And now, much like you and I
- 0:43were talking about before when I was first introduced to this
- 0:46case, and I was talking with Michael Francis, Micah's
- 0:50biological father, people kept asking me, hey, did you talk to
- 0:54her stepdad, Michael? And I'm like, wait, that's not
- 0:56her biological father. Like, no, it's not.
- 0:59It's a stepdad. And then I realized, wait,
- 1:01there's two Micahs here. I kept getting him.
- 1:03Or Michaels, 2 Michaels here. I kept getting confused.
- 1:06But you helped raise Micah. Tell us the beginning.
- 1:10How did when did you get married to Micah's mom and, and how how
- 1:14long did you raise the kids and and whatnot?
- 1:18So yeah, so we met like 2007. It was online dating Christian
- 1:25site and then we got married pretty quick.
- 1:29I was actually going to move out to Kansas, but couldn't get
- 1:33anything job or anything out there.
- 1:34And I got something back in North Carolina.
- 1:36I moved all the kids out to North or South Carolina, to
- 1:39Myrtle Beach. But yeah, I was, I've been in
- 1:44the, you know, pretty much all the kids life since 2007.
- 1:47You know, Micah's was, yeah, about 3 or 4 years.
- 1:51You know, at that time she was 131213.
- 1:54Because I was Micah's volleyball dad, orchestra dad, color guard
- 1:58dad. I mean, because of Michael,
- 2:02because of Micah, I got got involved in with the sockets the
- 2:06a lot of at the high school. We did team ministry there
- 2:10through Ground Zero. We did dragon boat races
- 2:13together. We're always Co captains for
- 2:16that. And I got involved in coaching
- 2:19volleyball because of her, got best friends, great friends
- 2:22because of her. So I mean, yeah, it was that
- 2:27we're real involved. You guys start going to solid
- 2:30rock. John Paul's the pastor.
- 2:33Micah's about there's discrepancy, but 1314. 1314,
- 2:38yeah, 1314, something like that. So we went, we went as soon as
- 2:45we came in. It was a little small church off
- 2:47Fordsburg Rd. It was probably 50 to 100
- 2:50people. Wasn't big at the time.
- 2:52It's a little office park. And when we came in, I mean,
- 2:56right away we noticed pretty much Jeremy and John Paul.
- 3:00Obviously John Paul is a pastor, but Jeremy was his right hand
- 3:02man. And you know, you could tell
- 3:05Jeremy really liked her and John, John Paul seemed to, to
- 3:09really take on to her too. But I thought it was just
- 3:12because he was happy that, that, that Michael was there for
- 3:17Jeremy because it seemed like a they, they seemed like a good
- 3:19couple, you know, at the time. So I guess that's we started
- 3:25going there. We were going there, I guess for
- 3:29about probably 3-4 years, at least three years.
- 3:35And it got yeah. And then we had, you know, we
- 3:39started marriage counseling with him.
- 3:41And then that's kind of when some things started coming out.
- 3:47And then we ended up he was kind of encouraging us pretty much to
- 3:50separate. You start having marriage
- 3:52counseling and John Paul does he what happens then?
- 3:57He he's encouraging you to to to separate from your wife.
- 4:01Yeah, he's basically saying that that, that, that he he was not
- 4:07hopeful that we can reconcile. He was putting all the blame on,
- 4:11on, on their mom pretty much is what he was doing.
- 4:15She's never going to change, blah, blah, blah.
- 4:18And and so we ended up separating.
- 4:21I thought they were going to actually go back to Oklahoma or
- 4:24Kansas where they're from. They're they're right on the
- 4:28Kansas, Oklahoma border. She's, you know, the kids were a
- 4:31guy. I'm in Oklahoma, so I'm in
- 4:32Kansas, Wichita, but I, I, she told me they were going to go
- 4:35back there. I was taken off the list to
- 4:38help, you know, I wasn't on the school list for the kids
- 4:41anymore. And, and I had contacts deal
- 4:44with the guy as counselors. They all knew that I was the one
- 4:46taking care of the kids and all the meetings and, and everything
- 4:49to do with school. So they were, you know, Michael
- 4:53was still communicating through them a little bit to me.
- 4:56And of course, right when all this went down, JP announced to
- 5:01the whole church what happened. So he exposed everything about
- 5:05what was going on in our relationship and what just
- 5:06happened with their mom moving with the girls they would with
- 5:09with the other guy. So I'm like, I got caught up in
- 5:13this poor, pitiful me. All the church was there
- 5:15supporting me, all how could this evil woman do this and that
- 5:18kind of thing? And, you know, I, I got caught
- 5:22up in that for a couple of months.
- 5:24Her dad actually brought her back to sign her back into
- 5:27sockets the, the high school and gave me guardianship, signed up,
- 5:32you know, guardianship to me so that I could do anything she
- 5:35needed to so she could finish out her junior year.
- 5:39And then, of course, you know, she was back to, you know, kind
- 5:42of seeing Jeremy all the time and getting involved with the
- 5:45church. She was still involved there and
- 5:49of course I was too, because again, I was caught up in the
- 5:51poor pit for me. And then and and I was coming
- 5:56back from Florence, which is about an hour and a half away.
- 5:59And I was driving, of course, listening to praise and worship.
- 6:01And then something just it's like God got a hold of me and
- 6:03said, put your family back together.
- 6:06And, and I could have walked, you know, again, I could have
- 6:09walked away with an easy divorce right then.
- 6:14But you know, I listen to God. The first person I call was JP.
- 6:19And this guy gets angry at me, yells at me on the phone that
- 6:23I'm, that I'm wanting to put the family back together and
- 6:25listening to God. I mean, he's, he's telling me
- 6:27the kids are better off because DSS was involved and all at the
- 6:31time. And so he's telling me the kids
- 6:34in Sierra Anna, Abby are, are better off in foster care.
- 6:37He was trying to, he was still trying to convince me to walk
- 6:39away and leave the kids, which now I understand with all his
- 6:44connections, you know #1 if you understand human traffickers,
- 6:47you understand they want to get rid of the dad.
- 6:49They target kids that don't have their dads around #2 with his
- 6:54connections, he probably could have controlled if they were in
- 6:57foster care. I think I kind of saved their
- 6:58lives too. I mean, he could have controlled
- 7:01and manipulated and got a hold of them too, just like you did
- 7:03Micah, and groomed them. Is is, I'm convinced of that.
- 7:06I mean, that it's my opinion, but just from everything I've
- 7:09seen, because there's been there's been times he said stuff
- 7:12to the girls that was inappropriate, you know, rub
- 7:15their hair, told them they're beautiful.
- 7:18You know, I mean, that's just, that's not behavior from a
- 7:21pastor. So you believe he he was
- 7:24grooming Micah and he was actively trying to separate her
- 7:28from you, her mother and and and her sisters and brother also?
- 7:34That's exactly what happened as soon as as soon as I told Micah
- 7:37that we're because Micah was, you know, back living.
- 7:40You know, we we had brought her back and she was in the in back
- 7:43in school. You know, she was living with
- 7:44me. Soon as I said that she said,
- 7:46I'm I'm not going to live under the same roof as mom and John
- 7:51Paul right away had her a place to live in another school
- 7:55district. So she ended up going and living
- 7:57with another couple down at Murrells unlit.
- 8:00You know, about a 45 minutes away, 3045 minutes away in
- 8:02another school district and then just kind of isolated her away
- 8:06for a whole senior year away from her siblings, her family.
- 8:09And, you know, at that time we, you know, we went through, yeah,
- 8:14obviously we, I started, we started going to another church.
- 8:17So it was meeting with another pastor.
- 8:19I ended up meeting with a doing marriage counseling to the
- 8:24pastor, family counseling and marriage counseling with another
- 8:27actual marriage counselor. And and we were trying to put
- 8:30the family actively trying to put the family back together.
- 8:33And and that's why I kind of wrote that, you know what, what
- 8:37I showed you that letter the because since he announced it to
- 8:41the whole church, but that yet he wouldn't let us restore us
- 8:45and let us come back as a family.
- 8:47I felt like these people needed to know, you know, not in a
- 8:50vengeful way, but but you know, what transpired and, and kind of
- 8:57a praise report. They're putting a family back
- 8:58together. But you know, and also that Mike
- 9:01has been isolated with us and, and being taught not not to have
- 9:04anything to do with her family. What?
- 9:06What? What?
- 9:07So your pastor, let me get this straight, allegedly did not want
- 9:14you to fix your family and then would not allow you to come back
- 9:19to church as a family. What was his reasoning?
- 9:25He he was just saying he, he didn't want to send the well.
- 9:27He said that I could come and the kids could come, but the mom
- 9:31couldn't come. Their mom couldn't come.
- 9:33So then then they were because of what she did.
- 9:37But yet then we finally told him I'm like.
- 9:40Then he finally kept doing stipulations like, well, she can
- 9:45come, but she has to get up in front of the whole church and,
- 9:47and, and renounce this or that. And I said, well, I'm not going
- 9:51to let her stand up there by herself.
- 9:52So we'll all stand up as a family.
- 9:54And he refused to do that. And, and finally it got to the
- 9:58point of he just, he sent me an e-mail that just, you know, we
- 10:05well, before I say that, that other pastor we were counseled
- 10:08with called him and told him and even told him because he, he,
- 10:12he'd known, he knew of John Paul and knew of his dad, but he
- 10:16called him and said, look, you need to restore this family to
- 10:18church. And JP laughed at him on the
- 10:21phone. Just was just, and just had an
- 10:23arrogant attitude towards him. And it was, it was crazy, but.
- 10:30So who? I mean, he wanted y'all to stand
- 10:32on stage and expose y'all's sins or whatever we know to the whole
- 10:39church. Well, he'd already exposed
- 10:41everything. He just wanted to.
- 10:44Yeah, their mom to, to, to. Do it again.
- 10:47Yeah, and confess it and let them forgive us or whatever.
- 10:51So we have to remember during this time, Micah has become the
- 10:54worship pastor at, at what solid rock at one point, O at the old
- 10:59building and, and she's only 16 years old.
- 11:02But you are still, even though you know the family is
- 11:05separated, are you still involved?
- 11:07I know you're not involved at the church, but are you still
- 11:09involved with with Micah and part of her life?
- 11:14Yeah, I was still involved. We we'd go to dinner a lot.
- 11:19We would be beat with the other girls a lot.
- 11:22So she started becoming more involved.
- 11:25You know, there were certain people she was allowed not to
- 11:28be, you know, allowed to be around certain times and some
- 11:31not. And I'm one of the ones because
- 11:32I've exposed everything with the first, you know, the first go
- 11:36around there at the church that I wouldn't let, you know, she
- 11:38wasn't allowed to be around me much for a while.
- 11:42And. Her, per John.
- 11:44Paul, Pardon. Yeah, yeah.
- 11:46Pardon, John. So John Paul, you're telling me
- 11:49John Paul would not allow Micah for a, a, a portion of time to
- 11:54be around you, her stepfather? Correct, Correct.
- 11:58And some. Yeah, well, I mean, she
- 11:59wouldn't. He wouldn't have let her around
- 12:01his siblings for a while too. And because and because she's
- 12:05under 18 when y'all called the cops, the cops wouldn't do
- 12:09anything about it. Correct, correct.
- 12:13This is just unbelievable to me. Yeah, they said in South
- 12:16Carolina, they just, if they're 17, they don't do anything
- 12:19because by the time it goes to court, they're 18.
- 12:21It's wasting their resources. Micah's stepfather says JP
- 12:25successfully separated Micah from the family.
- 12:29Then in 2015, JP and Micah are caught in an affair and they
- 12:34both separate and divorce their spouses.
- 12:37Then in 2017, JP and Micah get married and that's when the
- 12:42family began to notice Michael was all of a sudden being
- 12:47medicated. So, so at 18 years old, Micah
- 12:51gets married to Jeremy. You're still not much involved.
- 12:55You go to the wedding, but then the affair happens between JP
- 13:00and Micah and, and, and all of a sudden you're you're back
- 13:04involved. Tell us about that time in your
- 13:07lives. Yeah, I was kind of noticing
- 13:09when I was going back to all the pictures that a lot of them are
- 13:122016 time frame 18, you know, and or 2016 seventeen.
- 13:19And that's when all that happened.
- 13:21You know, Mike can just start hanging out with us a lot more.
- 13:25And I think Mike and Anna lived together for a little bit.
- 13:30And so she was real, you know, real involved with the family
- 13:33again. And so, yeah, I mean, we'd
- 13:39always, we were doing different things.
- 13:41We were, you know, doing volleyball again a little bit.
- 13:44I was running tournaments at the time.
- 13:46So she would come up and and help me with tournaments.
- 13:49So what happened then? What What she gets married and
- 13:53and does JP? What happens then?
- 13:56Yeah. And at that point, and I wasn't
- 14:01really sure I was going to go to the, the wedding.
- 14:03That was, I had a hard time with that.
- 14:06I think I, I didn't decide. I told her I wasn't sure if I
- 14:09could get there, but it was like at the last minute, I ended up
- 14:13deciding to go. And that's when I noticed
- 14:16everybody in the church was completely different.
- 14:17He lost the whole church. The only one I recognized was
- 14:20Trish, that, that was the only one that's been left there just
- 14:23the beginning of the, from the first original church.
- 14:26As far as I know, there might be a couple others, but that,
- 14:29that's when I really noticed. I was like, Oh my gosh, it's,
- 14:32it's completely new church. You know, we went to the, the
- 14:37wedding and then from then on it was every once in a while, you
- 14:40know, the family events, the, the holidays and JP would come
- 14:44with Micah to, to the family things and he would, he would
- 14:49hang out a little bit and then leave.
- 14:51They would come almost, I guess they'd come, I don't know if
- 14:53they'd come to separate cars or he'd come back and get her.
- 14:55I think they, most of the time they came to separate cars.
- 14:57It's just he was and it was just acceptable meaning or not really
- 15:02acceptable, but it was just known that that's was just
- 15:04behavior. He was not going to stay around.
- 15:06He didn't stay around the family very long.
- 15:09Was there any mental illness before their marriage in 2017?
- 15:16No, zero there was. I never saw any mental illness.
- 15:19The only thing I ever noticed is is when she got married to JPI.
- 15:23Could always tell. I could always tell when she was
- 15:26medicated because she would look like a zombie.
- 15:30If we'd meet for lunch or something or brunch and I'd call
- 15:34one of the girls back again and say like, because like a zombie,
- 15:37she's not herself. She's just, I could tell she
- 15:39went herself and then I could tell when she wasn't.
- 15:42It was her normal self. I could carry on a normal
- 15:44conversation with her. Did they explain?
- 15:47Did they explain why she was on medication?
- 15:51No, no, she didn't. She, I mean she you just said it
- 15:57was the medicine. I don't know if she ever
- 15:59explained exactly what the medicine was.
- 16:01From the moment they get married, something physically
- 16:07changes about Micah as far as her mannerisms and and think you
- 16:11can. You can tell from the moment
- 16:13they get married, 2017 that she's sometimes drugged and
- 16:17she's sometimes not. Yeah.
- 16:19And they kept saying it, it had to do back with the the breast
- 16:24augmentation and and so and see, I didn't know, I didn't know
- 16:28about that until way later. So that's probably why I didn't
- 16:31know about the medicines. They just said it was some kind
- 16:34of complication from a procedure.
- 16:36Then in 2022, the hospitalizations began and then
- 16:39in 2023, things begin to get dangerous for Micah because
- 16:43multiple times she discusses leaving John Paul Miller.
- 16:46And right before a missions trip in October of 2023 going to
- 16:51Africa, Micah finally decides that it's time.
- 16:55It's time for her and John Paul to separate for good.
- 16:58And as a result, her family believed that she would not have
- 17:03returned from that mission trip alive.
- 17:07So in 2022, she's hospitalized about the whole the whole thing
- 17:12where she's found collapsed in a bathroom.
- 17:15Her sister shows up and what not.
- 17:16Then John Paul all of a sudden shows up.
- 17:20Micah didn't want you to know about that stuff, but but what
- 17:24did you know what what was explained to you about that 2022
- 17:29hospitalization? Well, I knew about the episode.
- 17:33I didn't know about the episode that happened because the kids
- 17:36were calling me, you know, kind of asking what what we need to
- 17:39do a little bit. Also knew one of the officers
- 17:43that that was there and, and of course, you know, they, they had
- 17:50to let her go because Micah told him that, that she wanted to go
- 17:53with JP at the time. And then I guess that's when,
- 17:59right after that's when she ended up in, in what is the
- 18:03South, the South South. Strand, yeah.
- 18:06South Strand, Yeah, South Strand.
- 18:09But other than that, I didn't know.
- 18:11I didn't know much about it and. Was there any discussion of
- 18:18Micah wanting to take her own life at all?
- 18:242022 before. I've never heard of anything
- 18:28having to do with that until it came out in J PS interview.
- 18:32I I've never heard anything about her wanting to commit.
- 18:36She never said anything to me. The kids never said anything to
- 18:38me about it. So according to what she's
- 18:41trying to do in the past and according to her doctors who've
- 18:44taken care of her for years, and according to me who's seen it
- 18:46over and over again, I imagine that she was in an incredibly
- 18:51euphoric attitude. I saw her pictures on the Dick's
- 18:55Pawn Shop. Someone sent me screenshots of
- 18:57the Dick's Pawn Shop pictures where she's smiling, which out
- 19:01of the six or seven times that she tried to pass, only one of
- 19:05those times was she depressed. The other times she was very
- 19:08euphoric. Let's jump ahead.
- 19:10When do you start talking to Micah again in 2024?
- 19:15Well, when she came out of the hospital, so the Africa trip,
- 19:18right after the Africa trip, and then she goes in the hospital,
- 19:22so she calls me. She called me from the airport
- 19:25on a layover on the way to the Africa trip.
- 19:29We had conversation. She called just to talk.
- 19:33And then she called me when she came back too.
- 19:36But when she called me then when she was on that layover Africa
- 19:39trip, actually, I didn't think she'd come back alive, honestly,
- 19:43with everything going on. And I know one of the kids said
- 19:47the same thing. They they we didn't think she
- 19:50was coming back alive. So in the Africa trip on October
- 19:55of 2023. Yeah.
- 19:58She had decided that she's going to leave John Paul Miller.
- 20:00She had told multiple friends that and, and I assume she told
- 20:04her sisters that and, and, and you had paid for an attorney to
- 20:09help and all that stuff and that you and, and one of her sisters.
- 20:14I truly believe that she's not going to come back alive.
- 20:18Yeah, we did. None of us thought she should
- 20:19go. You know, I mean, obviously
- 20:22with, with everything going on and the people involved and, and
- 20:26you know, the other thing is that, you know, cuz Randall was
- 20:29orchestrating it and ran. We when all that stuff went down
- 20:33with our family the first time we tried to find out who JP's
- 20:37accountability person was. That happened to be Randall's
- 20:39back then too. And he we could never get in
- 20:42contact. We couldn't talk to him or
- 20:44nothing. Never.
- 20:45He never came in and did anything.
- 20:47So but he was supposed to be accountable to him.
- 20:50JP was supposed to be accountable to him.
- 20:51So JP had no accountability to anybody back then either.
- 20:54But just knowing, you know, you know, anytime something
- 20:58happened, you know, this guy's involved and, and with the
- 21:03Africa trip and, and, and JP involved, it just, you know, I,
- 21:09I, I've heard you use the term master manipulator, master
- 21:13narcissist. I've been using those terms for
- 21:15years. I mean, everything JP does is
- 21:18calculated. He thinks, he tries to stay
- 21:20ahead of the game. He's always thinking, trying to
- 21:25think out scenarios, think ahead and try to manipulate the
- 21:28situation. He's always been doing that as
- 21:31far as I've known him. And then and so knowing that he
- 21:36was trying to orchestrate her going to Africa missions trip,
- 21:40that Africa trip, that's why we just did something not good on
- 21:44this. We didn't believe it after.
- 21:46Micah returns from Africa. She's immediately in the
- 21:51hospital again. Now don't confuse this
- 21:55hospitalization with the February 2024 hospitalization.
- 22:00Yes, in between October and February, at some point, Micah
- 22:05goes to the hospital. Now the difference is in this
- 22:09one, she willingly goes. She doesn't go against her will.
- 22:12She's not forced to go against her will like she claims in the
- 22:16February 2024 hospitalization. And Michael Honeycutt says that
- 22:21when she's out of the hospital in that time, he has lunch with
- 22:26Micah and JP. Take a listen.
- 22:30Yeah, so we had lunch and again, JP was he was there a little
- 22:36bit. He ate and he took off.
- 22:37He said I don't want to go run some errands, I'll come back.
- 22:39So then just me and Mike are talking and, and at the end, you
- 22:46know, when he comes back and, and we all leave, we're walking
- 22:49out and, and, and I do this with all the kids and my wife, you
- 22:53know, I just, you know, I hug him and say, plead the blood of
- 22:55Jesus over you had your protection, peace, joy, wisdom.
- 22:59And I did that to Micah. And then I walked around the car
- 23:02and I shook JP's hand and put my hand up on his shoulder.
- 23:06And I said the same thing. But what came out of my mouth
- 23:09was at the end was and deliverance.
- 23:13And because I started understanding some of the
- 23:15deliverance ministries and stuff and not that I, I knew you know
- 23:18much, but it just came out of my mouth.
- 23:20And when it did, something rose up in his shoulder and I felt
- 23:23something in him like like like demonic or something.
- 23:27And I was like, OK. And so we left and about 10
- 23:31minutes later I'm driving up the road and I lost feeling in this
- 23:33whole arm. And all of a sudden Micah and
- 23:36John Paul are called. Micah's calling me and she goes,
- 23:39they're upset at me because they said, are you saying John Paul
- 23:43is possessed by a demon? I said, I don't know.
- 23:45I just know what I felt in, in my arm.
- 23:48And you know, I, I can't explain it.
- 23:51And I said but, and, and then, and The funny thing is, and, and
- 23:55somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.
- 23:57I've never heard any, which I didn't listen to a lot of his
- 24:00sermons after that, but I've never heard him talk about being
- 24:02demon possessed until at that point.
- 24:05And then after that, that's when Micah called me a couple of
- 24:08times and told me that, well, we're seeking counsel with,
- 24:12we're seeking counsel with this other pastor over there at one
- 24:16of those churches and he's and John Paul's getting delivered.
- 24:20JP is getting delivered. And I'm like, yeah, I don't
- 24:23know, but OK. But that's when they really
- 24:26start talking about, that's when I heard somebody of the Earth.
- 24:31That's when I heard he started talking about being demon
- 24:33possessed after Mr. Honeycutt told me that story.
- 24:36I reached out to multiple witnesses and they confirmed
- 24:40what he says. Matter of fact, one witness, as
- 24:43we were just talking, told me at random before I could ask my
- 24:46question. Hey Robbie, did you know that
- 24:49when they returned from Africa, Micah told me that John Paul was
- 24:54going to deliverance therapy or counseling, whatever they called
- 24:58it? And with this information, it
- 25:00makes this clip make even more sense.
- 25:04And so I want. To I'm telling you this so that
- 25:06you can be encouraged that God can use you.
- 25:08So for the past four weeks I've had the most horrible battle and
- 25:11horrible time of my entire life. I've never ever ever ever not
- 25:14even close been. Through what I'm going through.
- 25:17Right now in life, not even close.
- 25:19Horrible. I mean horrible.
- 25:21So bad I'm seeing a psychiatrist every week.
- 25:23I'm on 900 milligrams of lithium.
- 25:25I'm seeing a counselor every week.
- 25:26I'm going to inner healing. I'm going to deliverance 3 * a
- 25:29week with pastors in the area. I'm doing everything I can just
- 25:31to be able to get out of bed. I'm so depressed.
- 25:34I want to die. I'm battling.
- 25:36Thoughts. I have unforgiveness, hatred.
- 25:37Demons coming out of me. Horrible.
- 25:40But Micah quickly realizes that her marriage is not going to
- 25:43last, and in early 2024, she decides that it's time to leave
- 25:49John Paul Miller once and for all.
- 25:52She had called. Me about trying to get some
- 25:54resources to help and like attorneys or whatever.
- 26:00And, and, you know, we, we kind of had some discussions.
- 26:03I didn't know of any more that that we could call because we'd
- 26:06exhausted some of the other resources the other time.
- 26:11So I wasn't sure. So I ended up I said call, you
- 26:16know, Pastor Dan, my, my pastor down there that that's helped.
- 26:19He knows the whole, everything is going to happen and she
- 26:23called, I said he may know some resources and she called him and
- 26:26I guess they had a long conversation.
- 26:30Matter of fact, she ended up going to church there one
- 26:33Wednesday evening and called me on the way back.
- 26:35And thank you so much. I got the, I've still got the
- 26:37voicemail because I, I apparently missed the call at
- 26:40the first, but but said thank you so much and they had a long
- 26:45conversation. And I think that's when she kind
- 26:48of went back and rededicated her life.
- 26:50And if you look at, you know, the video where it talks about
- 26:54she, she's being told or she finally realizes that she,
- 26:59she's, she's the bride of Christ first and foremost.
- 27:03So that actually came from that conversation with the pastor and
- 27:05his wife, God. Hates divorce, But why?
- 27:09According to everybody I've asked and the scriptures that
- 27:12I've found, it's because it hurts people.
- 27:16But does abuse hurt people? How do you think God feels about
- 27:20that? So I want to remind you, like a
- 27:26bunch of people have been reminding me lately, that I'm
- 27:30God's pride first. Yeah, I mean, the kids again are
- 27:34calling me, you know, and I'm like, you've got, you know, I
- 27:38have no authority there at all, you know, but your dad has, you
- 27:43know, get your dad, you know, back involved and like he's a
- 27:46biological father and. And that's what, you know,
- 27:50that's the only, you know, as far as the, the documentary, I
- 27:53mean it, it touched on, on some things.
- 27:55And it's a fraction, it's a fraction of what actually
- 27:58happened. But there was 2 dads fighting
- 28:00for her, you know, their, their real dad was their biological
- 28:04dad was, was there, you know, help get her out her, her and
- 28:09her, him. And I think one of the girls and
- 28:13you know, and, and we, you know, I've been there too.
- 28:15And it's just, I, I was never involved with any of any of the
- 28:18new people at the church. Just I stayed away from the
- 28:21church. And Mike and I, when we had
- 28:23conversations, she knew how I felt about that church and about
- 28:26JP. So there was and, and I know
- 28:29myself, I had no idea about the human trafficking stuff going on
- 28:33until two months before she died and she called me and started
- 28:36telling me all this stuff you're talking about the.
- 28:38Homeless, the homeless people and things of that nature.
- 28:40Yeah, I. I had no idea, well, that any of
- 28:45this stuff was going on. So I'm just thinking we all knew
- 28:50affair. I don't know when the kids knew.
- 28:52I don't know when her when her dad knew.
- 28:54I'm just saying for me, I didn't know all this stuff.
- 28:56So that's why I, you know, I just guys having all these
- 29:00affairs. He had all these affairs with
- 29:01his first wife. He's still having affairs.
- 29:04He, he, he, he's just using the church and the pulpit for money
- 29:08and, and, and, and to control people.
- 29:12You know, that those were given. So we didn't know about the, I
- 29:15didn't know about any of the horrific stuff until later,
- 29:18until two months before she died when she started telling me some
- 29:21of the stuff that's going on. And, and, and at that point she
- 29:24still, it wasn't that she wanted sympathy.
- 29:28She was like, how do I save the church and those people?
- 29:30She loved those people, was there at.
- 29:33Any point you believed Micah's life was in danger in those
- 29:36final couple months of her life? Yeah, I mean, we all agree that
- 29:40the last dinner we had, which is about a month before she died,
- 29:44she told her she was. She was, you know, she told me
- 29:47directly. She's just, you know, scared for
- 29:49her life, you know, and, and. She.
- 29:53But she wanted. In your opinion, did she want to
- 29:57live? Yeah.
- 29:59Yeah, she wanted to live. She, yeah, she definitely wanted
- 30:04to live. There was no talk of anything
- 30:06about taking her own life, ever. I never heard anything about it.
- 30:10So matter of fact, you know, she said.
- 30:12You know something happens, you know?
- 30:16It's not me, you know? Just days after John Paul Miller
- 30:22was served divorce papers, Mike Miller is dead.
- 30:26It's officially ruled that she took her own life, Lumber River
- 30:30State Park in Lumberton, NC. So let's jump to April 26th.
- 30:39April 27th. Where were you?
- 30:44How did you find out what had happened and and what were your
- 30:47first initial thoughts? Well, I was at home in North
- 30:52Carolina that I'd moved up back up to North Carolina back in
- 30:56about 20/20/2019. But I found out, I mean, Sierra
- 31:03and I'll start blowing up my phone right at midnight or, or,
- 31:07you know, right when they found out.
- 31:08I guess that's how I found out. And I was kind of in shock.
- 31:13I just, I had no idea. I was, I mean, it was, it was
- 31:19almost like a you hear it, but it doesn't register what just
- 31:26happened kind of thing. And and they're still trying to
- 31:30find out what happened, you know, But yeah, it was yeah.
- 31:38I mean, that was like so late Saturday night.
- 31:40So next morning we're I'm driving down to Myrtle and get
- 31:43with the kids and find out what's going on.
- 31:47Did y'all? Did y'all believe she took her
- 31:50own life? None of us.
- 31:52Did I mean well, I mean, yeah, no, none of us believed it.
- 31:57We still I don't believe it for a minute.
- 32:00You still don't believe Micah took her own life?
- 32:03No, not. At all.
- 32:05The 911 call, this is your first public statement on the 911
- 32:10call. Do you believe that is Micah in
- 32:12the 911 call? I believe that's her voice.
- 32:20I didn't at first. I didn't believe that was her.
- 32:22And then we finally heard it. I don't.
- 32:26I mean, that's her voice. But again, JP was known to mess
- 32:30around with AIA lot because he was, you know, they were calls
- 32:35and texts being made to the kids and stuff, forging numbers
- 32:41coming from different numbers. Wait, hold on, let me.
- 32:44Stop you there before Micah died, Yeah.
- 32:48Yeah, yeah, Micah told me about some kind of app he was using in
- 32:52forging numbers. Wait a minute.
- 32:54So let's. I don't think you've told me
- 32:58this. So we're, forgive my surprise
- 33:01here. Maybe we've talked about it.
- 33:04You're telling me Micah spoke to you about John Paul Miller using
- 33:09an app to send forged numbers and and messages, and you're
- 33:14saying it happened to your family?
- 33:16Yeah. She.
- 33:17Told me that they had the app and doing stuff like that so.
- 33:22So you're telling me that Micah spoke with you about John Paul
- 33:25Miller using an app to create to forge number or something like
- 33:31that? Yeah, it.
- 33:32Was yeah, send messages from a, from a number that that that's a
- 33:36fake number you can't respond to, but it looks like it's
- 33:39coming from somewhere else. She was a little fearful of what
- 33:42he was doing with the AII. Don't know if she was like, I
- 33:47don't know if she was just like, oh, he's going to use it against
- 33:49me to do something. I don't, I don't think she
- 33:53didn't express that to me. And sometimes she would tell me
- 33:57things, you know, she would talk a lot, like when, when, when,
- 34:02when I could talk to her, she would want to talk a lot.
- 34:05So it'd be in the middle of saying all these things.
- 34:08And then I'd be like, wait, what did I just hear?
- 34:11So I didn't get details, but it was kind of like brushed over,
- 34:15you know, he's doing this and then he's, you know, this and
- 34:18this and you know, it doesn't quite.
- 34:21Register at the time, yeah, because at the time it sounds
- 34:27childish, but. Where we're.
- 34:29At today, it's not very childish, no.
- 34:33And that call we got, I got that call I got two months prior, and
- 34:37you start talking about the other stuff and I'm just like,
- 34:40wait, did I just hear this correctly?
- 34:43It's like I can't comprehend almost what she just said.
- 34:47Or it's just like, whoa. So then it's a whole new realm
- 34:53of what she's been having to deal with all these years.
- 34:57Now let's move to the investigation itself.
- 34:59The family has always been critical of Robeson County
- 35:03Sheriff's Department. They believe that they moved too
- 35:06quickly and this was an open and shut case in their eyes.
- 35:10Take a listen. So Robeson County Sheriff's
- 35:14Department meets with you guys and gives you, I think you've
- 35:21kind of suggested a ridiculous PowerPoint presentation.
- 35:27What were you guys told in that meeting with Robeson County
- 35:30Sheriff's Department and did they ever interview you well?
- 35:35The investigators came down so before, before they, we need to
- 35:40PowerPoint thing at the Sheriff's Department, they
- 35:42actually came down and wanted to meet, you know, the family and
- 35:46the kids. And we, we ended up meeting at,
- 35:49at, at the church where our pastor is down there in
- 35:53Surfside. And, and, and this pastor
- 35:57actually helped, helped Nikki Haley write the domestic
- 36:01violence laws in 2015 and 16. So he understood completely the
- 36:06the, the legal system on the and the, and the laws having to do
- 36:10with domestic violence. The two investigators came down.
- 36:14This is I guess about a week after it happened, met with us
- 36:18down there or I don't know if it's a week, maybe a few days,
- 36:22probably about a week because I guess they investigated it for a
- 36:24while supposedly. So they met with we were all
- 36:31there. They met with Sierra and they
- 36:34and then came back in and we're well, if we need to ask anything
- 36:38else, we'll get with you. And they had already made-up
- 36:42their mind at that point. Even every every one of us
- 36:45pretty much knew that they had made-up their mind that it was
- 36:49they weren't they weren't entertaining anything else.
- 36:51They didn't want to hear anything else about all the
- 36:54other stuff that's happened leading up to that.
- 36:57They didn't want to hear about it.
- 36:59It's crazy. I even that pastor said they've
- 37:03already made-up their mind. He, he commented like there's a
- 37:07law you can arrest him under and pointed out the law, which is
- 37:11the one that that he's being charged with right now.
- 37:14And they were like, no, we can't do that.
- 37:16So it's just like they, they just, And then again, when we,
- 37:20we met at the Sheriff's Department, it was just a
- 37:22PowerPoint, a little fancy PowerPoint wasn't real.
- 37:27I mean, kind of fan and weren't really fancy.
- 37:28But anyway, PowerPoint presentation, just you know,
- 37:31here's the, you know, the map, here's what this here's how it
- 37:35happened, here's this and you know, it's their their opinion
- 37:40on it. It's you know, we there wasn't
- 37:44they didn't talk to everybody need to be talked to.
- 37:47So that obviously the investigation was incomplete
- 37:50with those guys. What did they?
- 37:51Say about the bullet casings, they said.
- 37:56There was 2 bullet casings found the main or the main thing I
- 38:00remember about that meeting, you know, we asked about.
- 38:05So we, we got to see it was a fight to try to see her body
- 38:09before she, you know, he was rushing her to get her cremated.
- 38:14So we finally got to see her body and I saw bruises, the
- 38:19bruise right here on her left hand.
- 38:22And the kids saw some bruises on the other side.
- 38:27And we asked the medical examiner.
- 38:32There was a chief medical examiner and AI guess another
- 38:37lady. But apparently when all that
- 38:39happened with Micah, the chief was there too, that there was
- 38:41two of them. But neither one of them had an
- 38:43explanation of how bruises got on her.
- 38:46They didn't even know. They acted stomped, like what
- 38:50are you talking about? Yeah, now they they they were
- 38:52trying to say, I think with the bullet casings.
- 38:54Was she tested around and then and and then did it with the
- 39:01other one? But yet the.
- 39:03But yet the the man who who the man who found her stuff only
- 39:09heard one gunshot, There was somebody else.
- 39:14There was somebody else that heard two gunshots.
- 39:15I know I. Know that's what's that's what's
- 39:18frustrating, that's what's frustrating about this.
- 39:20There's another witness as you and I know, we'll keep that, you
- 39:23know, down low but and and we won't talk about that witness,
- 39:28but there's another witness that heard two gunshots.
- 39:31Yeah. And then nobody could explain
- 39:33how her body got 50 yards away in Stillwater, right?
- 39:39And. Under under a log under a log
- 39:43it. Was under a log they.
- 39:45Yeah, they said a log was almost on top of her that that's,
- 39:50that's why the first kayaker couldn't or the the the one of
- 39:54the guys couldn't find her or something.
- 39:55I'm like, yeah, OK, you know, I'm not.
- 39:59Laughing, you know, I'm not laughing because it's not it it
- 40:02I'm only laughing because it's just absolutely asinine.
- 40:08This is how how it was treated. You got 2 witnesses with
- 40:13conflicting statements and one of those witnesses who is now
- 40:17dead had Micah's thinks. I think what we'll do is pause
- 40:22it there because from here on out, as we know, it's a federal
- 40:26investigation. And, and and you have met with
- 40:30the FBI, correct? Yes, and so.
- 40:34To keep the integrity of the investigation, we certainly
- 40:38won't reveal anything more. Is there anything else that you
- 40:41want to share that the you think the world should know you know
- 40:45there? Again, Micah is the hero here.
- 40:48She started, kicked off this exposure, but there's a lot more
- 40:53victims out there. There's a lot more there.
- 40:56There's a lot more people that they need to be accountable to
- 40:59this. I mean, I'm hoping for a
- 41:00roundup, honestly, of some other people because there was so much
- 41:04cover up in this in the I've never seen anything like it.
- 41:13And it's stuff, it's stuff you can't make up.
- 41:15I mean, there, there were times I was looking around for the
- 41:16Jerry Springer camera sometimes, but it's, but, you know, in an,
- 41:23you know, so, you know, I, I hope we get exposure, you know,
- 41:27the full exposure from the other victims and then they get
- 41:31justice too. There's a lot of families
- 41:34involved, a lot of families lives, you know, got destroyed
- 41:37or he tried to destroy. There's a lot of people left in
- 41:42this wake. You know, it's, it's, it's,
- 41:49it's, it's this thing's deep. This thing's really deep.
- 41:54And and we really still don't even know how deep it is,
- 41:57honestly. John Paul Miller has denied all
- 42:02the accusations. He's charged with cyber stalking
- 42:05and lying to federal authorities at the time of this filming.
- 42:10He's pleaded not guilty.
