- 0:23Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:27Speaker 1: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with
- 0:31Speaker 1: Trey Trenholm and Raj Sharma. On Monday, January twentieth, twenty
- 0:36Speaker 1: twenty five. That is the day in which you are
- 0:38Speaker 1: hearing this. However, full disclosure, we're not live at the
- 0:52Speaker 1: time of this show recording. We still do not know
- 0:58Speaker 1: what's going to happen to TikTok. The deadline Sunday, January nineteenth,
- 1:07Speaker 1: and at the time of us recording this here a program.
- 1:10Speaker 1: We don't know yet what's going to happen to TikTok.
- 1:15Speaker 1: So instead of ignoring it, we'll just lean into it.
- 1:21Speaker 1: And on Monday, when you hear this, you'll already know
- 1:28Speaker 1: what happened and to lean into it. Here's what we're
- 1:31Speaker 1: going to do. We're going to take bets inside the
- 1:33Speaker 1: Treehouse on whether or not we think TikTok is going
- 1:38Speaker 1: to still be around on Monday, and then you, as
- 1:42Speaker 1: you listen to this, get to know already what's happened,
- 1:46Speaker 1: and you can get an idea of which one of
- 1:47Speaker 1: us is an idiot. So what do you guys think
- 1:54Speaker 1: is there still going to be a TikTok on Monday,
- 1:57Speaker 1: and how much you want to throw.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Down, I'm gonna go with no, I didn't go ban.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It, Trey. You think TikTok will live through, will be
- 2:09Speaker 1: alive on Monday?
- 2:11Speaker 3: I do.
- 2:12Speaker 4: I think it will somehow, some way survive, whether it
- 2:15Speaker 4: be the Supreme Court or some last minute Congressional action.
- 2:20Speaker 4: But I mean, TikTok is its own economy, and uh
- 2:27Speaker 4: so I and you know you want to talk about
- 2:32Speaker 4: an opiate for the masses. I just I think there's
- 2:35Speaker 4: gonna be a lot of upset people if they if
- 2:39Speaker 4: they they don't figure out something, yep.
- 2:42Speaker 2: So, I mean if they, if they if they stall it,
- 2:45Speaker 2: like if they delay it, does that count?
- 2:49Speaker 3: I mean, if it's still around on Monday, then yeah, that's.
- 2:51Speaker 1: That's the bet. All I'm asking is, do you think
- 2:55Speaker 1: TikTok is still on an active in the United States
- 2:59Speaker 1: on Monday, whether there's a last minute buyer or they
- 3:03Speaker 1: delay it by two hundred and seventy days, which I
- 3:05Speaker 1: think is floating around Congress, or is it just they pulled,
- 3:12Speaker 1: they flipped the switch, and the no more TikTok in
- 3:15Speaker 1: the United States. Here are my brief thoughts number one.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I'm with Trey. I think TikTok will still be around
- 3:25Speaker 1: on Monday in the United States. However, I don't want
- 3:30Speaker 1: there to be I hope it dies. I hope it
- 3:34Speaker 1: dies in a horrific, fiery internet death because I'm now
- 3:41Speaker 1: at the point in my life where I'd like to
- 3:42Speaker 1: see a little bit of chaos. I think it will
- 3:46Speaker 1: be saved because of all the money that is in TikTok,
- 3:50Speaker 1: not just at a corporate level, but all the individuals
- 3:52Speaker 1: that make a living or side hustles, whatever it is,
- 3:56Speaker 1: using TikTok as their primary platform. There's billions of dollars
- 4:00Speaker 1: up in it in its own little economy. Therefore, I
- 4:03Speaker 1: think money wins, and uh, I think it'll still be
- 4:08Speaker 1: around because of money. I don't want it to be though.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I'd like to see it go away, just to see
- 4:13Speaker 1: what happens.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I'll reverse mine then, because if they
- 4:17Speaker 2: if they can.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Delay, they do that, You're locked in. They have to
- 4:21Speaker 1: have some conflict. Raj. You gotta you have to. You
- 4:24Speaker 1: have to say it.
- 4:24Speaker 4: You didn't.
- 4:25Speaker 2: You didn't say no take back seats.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Uh, I just did no, no take back seats.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but I've already started the take back seats. Uh.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Can you say no takebacks in the middle of a
- 4:41Speaker 1: take back?
- 4:43Speaker 2: Uh?
- 4:43Speaker 4: I think you have to established take back rule on
- 4:46Speaker 4: the front end. So I'm gonna say no, Raj, no reversal.
- 4:50Speaker 2: You're locked in, all right, A look of that's the
- 4:53Speaker 2: two white guys.
- 4:57Speaker 1: What's the what's the use of having the primal with
- 4:59Speaker 1: Raj if you can't pick it up for a spin
- 5:00Speaker 1: once in a while. I mean, you can feel guilty
- 5:05Speaker 1: about it all you want, and and and we do it.
- 5:07Speaker 1: It's very very ridden in here, but I'm still going.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Although I realized that it's uh, you know, partly government owned,
- 5:14Speaker 4: but bite dance. If they let it get shut down,
- 5:20Speaker 4: they're gonna be walking away from I mean billions of
- 5:23Speaker 4: dollars that are potentially on the table in a sale.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Uh okay, I mean I can see the point. But
- 5:34Speaker 2: it's also still Chinese spyware. That's what it was designed
- 5:37Speaker 2: to be.
- 5:39Speaker 3: And so allegedly again, well here's.
- 5:45Speaker 1: At this point. Well, I ordered some deodorant the other
- 5:47Speaker 1: day from China, and it's probably be cataloging all my habits, I.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Mean, ay, And I said, that's a lot of bs
- 5:56Speaker 4: to sift ship, sift through for you know, Chinese for
- 5:59Speaker 4: spyware to pick up anything useful. And number two so
- 6:04Speaker 4: TikTok two point oho would be American spyware.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Great.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean at this point they're spyware or our
- 6:10Speaker 4: fo everything is listening to us or is it really
- 6:13Speaker 4: going to be?
- 6:14Speaker 3: Is it?
- 6:15Speaker 4: I have a problem that TikTok is somehow a threat
- 6:17Speaker 4: to national security?
- 6:18Speaker 1: I agree. This goes back to what we've said before,
- 6:20Speaker 1: where like the FBI says, careful what you do and
- 6:22Speaker 1: say on your phone. You know, bad people are listening.
- 6:27Speaker 1: It's the same thing with TikTok. If it's if it's
- 6:28Speaker 1: nothing but Chinese spyware, what are they learning. They're only
- 6:31Speaker 1: learning that that idiot Americans like to do dumb ten
- 6:34Speaker 1: to fifteen second dances in their living room.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Well, I think it.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Was originally designed to give to US soldiers for them
- 6:42Speaker 2: to talk to their families, is what it was.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Well, lots of things started out with good intentions and
- 6:47Speaker 1: and morphed into something else.
- 6:50Speaker 2: No. No, it was designed by China to give to
- 6:53Speaker 2: US military families so that they could talk to each
- 6:56Speaker 2: other kind of like a WhatsApp. And then it was
- 6:58Speaker 2: giving away toysicians, and so to disguise that, they made
- 7:06Speaker 2: it like a global, like a social media thing. So
- 7:11Speaker 2: I think that's how that kind of expanded from what
- 7:15Speaker 2: the original intent from China.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Was to That seems odd to me because I'm pretty
- 7:21Speaker 1: sure that most of the people, most of the enlisted
- 7:25Speaker 1: individuals that would be using TikTok for that purpose, you
- 7:29Speaker 1: already know they're there. Yeah, deal, Team six and the
- 7:33Speaker 1: CIA are not going to send a message back through
- 7:35Speaker 1: TikTok in whether stage it was in to say hey honey,
- 7:39Speaker 1: doing great in Shanghai. That they're not going to use
- 7:42Speaker 1: it for that. I mean, the people that you would
- 7:44Speaker 1: actually catch sending messages back are already on a base
- 7:46Speaker 1: with a flag attached to it.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I think it was just for families to talk to
- 7:51Speaker 2: each other, nothing like like encrypted messages or anything like that.
- 7:54Speaker 4: I think that's what the original purpose of TikTok was.
- 7:57Speaker 4: To share short form lip syncing videos.
- 7:59Speaker 1: It's the name by Dance, Yeah yeah, And I think
- 8:02Speaker 1: it was supposed to be somewhat of a replacement for Vine,
- 8:06Speaker 1: which a lot of people online miss.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah Vine. That was a that was a quick
- 8:14Speaker 2: flashing the band wasn't it again?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Well, the other thing that's funny though, is that you know,
- 8:18Speaker 1: you've I've already read over the weekend that people are
- 8:21Speaker 1: already were already looking into other options to fill the
- 8:27Speaker 1: TikTok void, and a lot of what they're going towards
- 8:29Speaker 1: are other Chinese based apps. So it's like, now it's
- 8:32Speaker 1: just going to be you know, like whack a mole
- 8:33Speaker 1: as far as Chinese spyware apps.
- 8:37Speaker 2: But the influx to Instagram monetarily, if it does get banned,
- 8:41Speaker 2: would be insane, Like what it over the next month
- 8:47Speaker 2: or so, And if it gets banned over the next month,
- 8:50Speaker 2: two months, three months, the monetary gains for Instagram and
- 8:53Speaker 2: and Facebook and all that stuff would go through the roof.
- 8:57Speaker 4: And that's that's one of the big discussions is what
- 9:00Speaker 4: who's going to benefit more?
- 9:02Speaker 3: Instagram or YouTube.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Both I'm not I'm not gonna say equally, but both.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Why wouldn't you post start posting on or take all
- 9:13Speaker 2: that content that you have and just move it over
- 9:17Speaker 2: if they allow you to access your content, just move
- 9:20Speaker 2: that over to either Instagram or YouTube or struct your
- 9:23Speaker 2: own YouTube channel and monetize that way. I mean, I
- 9:26Speaker 2: don't see I think it would take time to recoup
- 9:29Speaker 2: your money that you were that you would potentially lose
- 9:32Speaker 2: if they do band TikTok, But I think you would
- 9:36Speaker 2: recoup it in you know, in the first few months.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Well, one thing they're saying is that this isn't going
- 9:42Speaker 4: to be a They shut down on the nineteenth, but
- 9:44Speaker 4: the app still works and you can still get your
- 9:47Speaker 4: videos and stuff.
- 9:48Speaker 3: They're saying, if this goes through on the nineteenth, it's gone.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Oh really, yes, that's why I wanted to happen. That
- 9:54Speaker 1: sounds like fun for people. I have very little skin
- 9:59Speaker 1: in the game on the TikTok side. That's my lowest
- 10:00Speaker 1: performing platform personally, So if it goes down in a
- 10:05Speaker 1: ball of fire, I'm fine with that.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I got more floors on TikTok not using it did
- 10:11Speaker 2: using it.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Because you don't have big boobs and you're not dancing around.
- 10:17Speaker 1: That's the reality of it. I know, how much are
- 10:21Speaker 1: we throwing down? You say, uh, twenty bucks? Twenty bucks? Alright,
- 10:25Speaker 1: so so Tray that means we're gonna get twenty bucks
- 10:27Speaker 1: each other, Raja and then if Raj, if if you win,
- 10:33Speaker 1: then you'll get like five bucks. How does that work,
- 10:38Speaker 1: no take backs.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Trethouse Listen is online Trehouse on air dot com.

- 11:28Speaker 1: That's Treehouse on air dot com. I'm Dan along with
- 11:31Speaker 1: Trey and Raj inside the Treehouse. Our lights are on, uh,
- 11:36Speaker 1: which is which is a nice feeling. And again, I
- 11:38Speaker 1: just I just we're gonna move on into something less
- 11:40Speaker 1: important and uh before we do, just want to say
- 11:43Speaker 1: this the I just I really hope it went completely
- 11:46Speaker 1: dark with the flip of a switch, because that just
- 11:48Speaker 1: sounds like fun. I want to see. I want to
- 11:49Speaker 1: see people wigging the f out because TikTok goes away.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Oh I agree.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I just think there's just there's just too much money
- 11:58Speaker 1: wrapped up in it for that to happen.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and the last minute buyer, like, what's
- 12:05Speaker 2: the what's the what's what are they trying to sell
- 12:07Speaker 2: it for?
- 12:08Speaker 1: I had heard anywhere in that forty to fifty billion
- 12:11Speaker 1: range a few days ago, and I don't know if
- 12:13Speaker 1: that's because that's what Elon paid for Twitter, but there's
- 12:16Speaker 1: that's that was a number I heard.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Okay, that could happen. I can get a group of
- 12:22Speaker 2: people together. Well maybe even from.
- 12:26Speaker 4: What I've seen there, Kevin O'Leary has a group that
- 12:31Speaker 4: they want to buy it.
- 12:33Speaker 1: That's the guy from Shark Tank.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Yes, mister beast. Yeah, I heard the group that they
- 12:39Speaker 4: want to buy it. And then there is a third
- 12:42Speaker 4: one who wants to do it but with almost and
- 12:46Speaker 4: it's fascinating and it would probably work almost like a
- 12:49Speaker 4: crowdsource funding deal of you know, you can buy a
- 12:54Speaker 4: small percentage of it, you know, if you want to
- 12:57Speaker 4: chip in.
- 12:58Speaker 2: So oh and interesting.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Okay, so.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Sort of a cross between capitalism and communism. Why not
- 13:10Speaker 1: give it a shot?
- 13:12Speaker 6: Go?
- 13:12Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Would that make TikTok a five to one c three?
- 13:22Speaker 1: All right?
- 13:23Speaker 6: Uh?
- 13:23Speaker 1: There, so the TikTok thing again. See what happens. We'll see, Uh,
- 13:27Speaker 1: we'll see who's who's a big dumbass on whenever that
- 13:31Speaker 1: happens from the time we record. But now let's jump
- 13:33Speaker 1: into our regular helping of funny and stupid inside the trios.
- 13:41Speaker 1: You guys like your jobs right. For the most part,
- 13:44Speaker 1: you're happy they they offer at least some level of fulfillment.
- 13:48Speaker 1: If you were to get into a relationship with a woman,
- 13:53Speaker 1: you know what, I shouldn't be so limiting. It's a
- 13:54Speaker 1: twenty first century. If you, guys, whatever makes you happy.
- 13:57Speaker 1: If you were to get into a relationship with someone
- 13:59Speaker 1: that made money than you, would you be okay with that?
- 14:02Speaker 2: Sure?
- 14:04Speaker 1: Yeah, Tray all good.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Sugar, sugar mama.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Absolutely, I wouldn't have an issue with that.
- 14:15Speaker 1: According to a new study, wealthy wife, unhappy life, men
- 14:19Speaker 1: are supposedly sadder when their wives earn more than them. Again,
- 14:24Speaker 1: that's according to a new study from Taylor Swift to
- 14:27Speaker 1: Nicole Kidman. Many high profile female celebrities earn more than
- 14:30Speaker 1: their partners. In this case, those partners, Travis Kelcey and
- 14:34Speaker 1: Keith Urban, seem fairly happy with their setups, but a
- 14:36Speaker 1: new study has warned that the same is not true
- 14:39Speaker 1: across the board. First of all, stop using celebrities as
- 14:43Speaker 1: your litmus test for everybody. Yeah, that ain't cool. There's
- 14:47Speaker 1: absolutely no way I can fathom Travis Kelcey having a
- 14:50Speaker 1: problem with Taylor Swift making that much more than him,
- 14:53Speaker 1: because he's already a super successful millionaire. He's fine. Same
- 14:58Speaker 1: with Keith Urban. I'm actually surpri that Nicole Kimmen is
- 15:01Speaker 1: worth more than Keith Urban, considering how for longevity of career,
- 15:05Speaker 1: Keith Urban has had a wider range of success. Again,
- 15:09Speaker 1: when you're talking about like someone like Taylor Swift who
- 15:13Speaker 1: might be worth a billion dollars now versus Travis Kelsey,
- 15:16Speaker 1: who might be worth fifty million dollars, is that is
- 15:19Speaker 1: that a big difference. Yeah, but Travis Kelsey still got
- 15:21Speaker 1: fifty million dollars. He's gonna be fine. The difference I
- 15:25Speaker 1: could see is if let's say your significant other makes
- 15:28Speaker 1: five hundred thousand dollars a year and and you make
- 15:32Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Fifty Yeah, I don't know why, you know. I mean,
- 15:38Speaker 2: if you're if you're in a partnership, and if it's
- 15:43Speaker 2: a happy relationship, I don't think that should matter. I mean,
- 15:45Speaker 2: if it's being flaunted in front of your face, I think,
- 15:48Speaker 2: like Taylor Swift is like, you know, go like just
- 15:54Speaker 2: like throwing money at Travis Kelsey's face.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Every day, just smacking him with every chance. Yeah, that's
- 16:01Speaker 1: not that's not because of the money. That would be
- 16:02Speaker 1: just because she's an awful person.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, like you know, mama's on the phone,
- 16:06Speaker 2: Go get yourself Lamborghini anyway. Uh you know, but you
- 16:09Speaker 2: know that would be kind of a dick move. But
- 16:13Speaker 2: I mean, like if everybody is happy and everybody's you know,
- 16:16Speaker 2: uh contributing, I think that's just fine.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Dan to a reason you brought the story up.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I just thought it was fascinating that there are some
- 16:26Speaker 1: men that that are threatened by their their wives.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Do you need to talk about something?
- 16:32Speaker 1: I don't need to talk about anything. I'm happy to
- 16:34Speaker 1: I'm happy to report to you right now that my
- 16:36Speaker 1: wife is the bread winner and I'm okay with that. Yeah,
- 16:43Speaker 1: but he wasn't always the case. I mean, there there's
- 16:46Speaker 1: been times. There's been times when we've been more equal,
- 16:49Speaker 1: and then there's there's been times when I made more.
- 16:52Speaker 1: And now we're in a we're in the the terra
- 16:54Speaker 1: era in which she makes more money than I do.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but you also help out with the with the
- 16:59Speaker 2: stuff and and the things. Yeah, so yeah, that's uh, yeah,
- 17:03Speaker 2: that's fair. I mean, like you for breakfast, you mean
- 17:10Speaker 2: you mean you make breakfast.
- 17:14Speaker 1: If things are tight.
- 17:19Speaker 3: If Mama doesn't give you allowance.
- 17:20Speaker 1: That day I get my allowance and I'll let I'll
- 17:22Speaker 1: go buy his breakfast. Otherwise I'll whip something up, maybe
- 17:26Speaker 1: like mul chew or something that's boys.
- 17:30Speaker 2: She just leaves a twenty on the nightstand, so my
- 17:36Speaker 2: mama saill get you some eggs.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I'll take validation from just about anywhere. You're int the treouse.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Visit us online a Treehouse on Air dot com. You're

- 19:04Speaker 1: I'm Dan along with Tray and RAJ back with you
- 19:06Speaker 1: inside the treehouse. Have you guys ever been to let's say, Walgreens,
- 19:14Speaker 1: CVS or I think those are the main ones, the
- 19:18Speaker 1: stores that lock up a bunch of their products so
- 19:21Speaker 1: they don't get stolen. Yes, like this happened to me
- 19:25Speaker 1: just actually it was yesterday, went to Walgreens and tried
- 19:30Speaker 1: to get some deodorant, but you know, locked up, and
- 19:35Speaker 1: that's where you have to try to find somebody to
- 19:37Speaker 1: you know, unlock it for you, which is not always
- 19:40Speaker 1: the easiest thing. Sometimes it is, sometimes it's not as
- 19:42Speaker 1: kind of a roll of the dice. Turns out that
- 19:46Speaker 1: locking up all those products doesn't really help the retail
- 19:50Speaker 1: establishment all that much. Walgreens has admitted that locking everything
- 19:55Speaker 1: up to combat shoplifting has backfired because shoppers just not
- 20:00Speaker 1: buying the stuff that's locked up.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, true, Yeah, they're going to Amazon.
- 20:05Speaker 1: That's yeah, that's a.
- 20:08Speaker 4: And they and one of them knew it on the
- 20:11Speaker 4: front end. They they're like, we're gonna have to close
- 20:14Speaker 4: stores because of this because we're losing either way.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Basically, Yeah, it really is a fascinating thing. The CEO
- 20:21Speaker 1: of Walgreens did an interview with Fortune magazine, and he
- 20:24Speaker 1: said Walgreens had a fifty two percent increase in theft
- 20:28Speaker 1: in twenty twenty and twenty twenty one, so they invested
- 20:31Speaker 1: in increased security. Like all the locks that we see,
- 20:35Speaker 1: it backfired though, because it turned away actual business. He said,
- 20:39Speaker 1: it's been largely ineffective. When you lock things up, you
- 20:41Speaker 1: don't sell as many of them. We've kind of proven
- 20:45Speaker 1: that pretty conclusively. He stopped short of saying that they
- 20:48Speaker 1: would take them out, but he did say they're working
- 20:50Speaker 1: on other creative solutions to tackle the shrink problem while
- 20:54Speaker 1: improving the in store experience for people who are trying
- 20:58Speaker 1: to buy things. The whole idea of walking into a
- 21:02Speaker 1: store and buying something is the convenience of it, right,
- 21:05Speaker 1: especially if you're talking about a Walgreen CBS Corner store
- 21:08Speaker 1: type scenario, The idea is convenience. Walk in, buy it,
- 21:13Speaker 1: walk out, and you don't want to wait on the
- 21:17Speaker 1: Amazon delivery. It might be a day or two before
- 21:19Speaker 1: you get it, or in some cases you might get
- 21:21Speaker 1: Amazon delivery same day. The point is it's supposed to
- 21:24Speaker 1: be the convenience factor. So if you walk in and
- 21:25Speaker 1: the thing's locked up, no longer convenience, So.
- 21:27Speaker 4: I'm just going around Amazon well, and it's also for CVS,
- 21:32Speaker 4: well any pharmacies. It's their whole business model is where
- 21:36Speaker 4: you have to come in and.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Get that stuff.
- 21:40Speaker 4: You pick up your prescription, so while you're there, you'll
- 21:44Speaker 4: buy other things.
- 21:46Speaker 1: And the other role with that is now is you've
- 21:48Speaker 1: got Amazon getting into the prescription game. So eventually I
- 21:53Speaker 1: feel like, Okay, you guys have both seen Demolition Man
- 21:56Speaker 1: starring Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes, right, And in one
- 22:00Speaker 1: of the scenes in the film with Sandra Bullock, she's
- 22:05Speaker 1: telling him about the future because they're going to dinner
- 22:08Speaker 1: at Taco Bell and she tells them during the Restaurant Wars,
- 22:11Speaker 1: all the restaurants are now Taco Bell because Taco Bell
- 22:14Speaker 1: won the Restaurant Wars. It seems like Demolition Man was
- 22:18Speaker 1: kind of onto something there. While it may not be
- 22:20Speaker 1: the restaurant business, everything is going to eventually be Amazon
- 22:24Speaker 1: or Walmart or Walmart, and so it really is turning
- 22:29Speaker 1: into online marketplace situation, and it's just you're gonna buy
- 22:33Speaker 1: from one place or the other and maybe eventually it's
- 22:35Speaker 1: all going to be one.
- 22:37Speaker 4: Well, and the whole part why and ultimately why Amazon.
- 22:43Speaker 4: I don't know if you can ever unseat Walmart for
- 22:45Speaker 4: what it's a little niche. But where Amazon kills everyone
- 22:50Speaker 4: is they're not paying rent like every CVS, every Walgreens.
- 22:55Speaker 4: They're paying millions of dollars in real estate. I mean
- 22:59Speaker 4: this that now occupies where the old Loon used to be.
- 23:04Speaker 3: May at rest in peace.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Amen.
- 23:06Speaker 3: They paid seventeen million dollars for that.
- 23:09Speaker 4: Wow, like wow, And that was just to be on
- 23:15Speaker 4: that that corner so they could be right across the
- 23:19Speaker 4: street from Walgreens. And at the time there was a
- 23:22Speaker 4: grocery store and another pharmacy right there. They wanted and
- 23:26Speaker 4: all that urban sprawl that developed in Uptown, they wanted
- 23:29Speaker 4: to be right in the heart of it.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Wow, that's wild. Yeah. I mean the whole the whole
- 23:35Speaker 2: reason for products in like a CVS is that's why
- 23:38Speaker 2: they make you wait on your prescription. It's not like
- 23:40Speaker 2: it's necessary like they have it all right there. They
- 23:43Speaker 2: want you to shop around and buy stuff and then
- 23:46Speaker 2: pick up your prescription. So, I mean, I don't know
- 23:50Speaker 2: why locking anything up would help. If your whole idea,
- 23:54Speaker 2: if your whole business plan is come in wait for
- 23:57Speaker 2: your prescription. But while you're waiting, go get stuff. But
- 24:00Speaker 2: we're gonna lock it up. Now, I've never heard of
- 24:03Speaker 2: deodorant gate locked.
- 24:05Speaker 4: It's why a grocery store, your essentials are always at
- 24:08Speaker 4: the back of the store. They want you to walk
- 24:10Speaker 4: through all of the other things to get to your
- 24:13Speaker 4: milk and eggs and butter.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Yeah, the other day I was at the store and
- 24:18Speaker 1: I was trying to get some deodorant and it wasn't
- 24:21Speaker 1: locked up behind a glass case. Instead the little poles
- 24:27Speaker 1: or whatever, the metal brackets that it was actually, sorry,
- 24:32Speaker 1: it was razorszors. So it's got the little hole on
- 24:36Speaker 1: the package that slides back and forth on that rod,
- 24:39Speaker 1: and the rod has a cap on it with the
- 24:42Speaker 1: price on it, and that was locked over the rod
- 24:45Speaker 1: holding the razors, so I couldn't pull the razors off
- 24:49Speaker 1: the rod, and there was no one around.
- 24:52Speaker 3: To help me.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's also for a safety thing. You don't
- 24:56Speaker 2: want some psychopath coming in and just pulling razors off
- 24:59Speaker 2: the shelf and start slicing people up. That's the safety.
- 25:02Speaker 1: It's a shick extreme disposable eight pack. This this, this,
- 25:06Speaker 1: it's not a straight razor. It's not a machete, which
- 25:09Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure is in the garden section.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Not.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I'm just saying I can do more damage with a
- 25:15Speaker 1: garden weasel that's not locked up than a locked up
- 25:18Speaker 1: Gillette five blade.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Necessity is the mother of invention, my friend. They'll find
- 25:24Speaker 2: a way, they'll find a way.
- 25:25Speaker 1: To do that. So I've had fever dreams. I saw
- 25:31Speaker 1: all the fun that Denzel Washington had at the end
- 25:34Speaker 1: of the first Equalizer movie, and that in that whole
- 25:36Speaker 1: Depot store killing all the bad guys.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, the nail gun. Yeah, I've never looked at
- 25:44Speaker 2: a nail gun the same way. I'm like, that's say,
- 25:46Speaker 2: that's a weapon.
- 25:48Speaker 1: It's one of the few times in my life I
- 25:49Speaker 1: looked at barb wire and.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Smiled shingles or Russians.
- 25:58Speaker 1: It was also the first time I've ever seen a
- 26:00Speaker 1: shotglass used for two different things.
- 26:08Speaker 6: You are Treehouse.
- 26:10Speaker 5: Visit us online at Treehouseonair dot com.
- 26:23Speaker 6: You're listening to the Treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouse
- 26:28Speaker 6: on air dot com.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Do you like to watch Well, you can watch us
- 26:34Speaker 1: on YouTube. Just look us up on YouTube. It's the Treehouse.
- 26:38Speaker 1: You can also just type in the Treehouse show the
- 26:40Speaker 1: Treehouse Podcast and find us and Treehouse TV on YouTube,
- 26:45Speaker 1: or you can go directly to the channel YouTube dot
- 26:47Speaker 1: com slash at Treehouse on air to find us on
- 26:50Speaker 1: YouTube and then maybe that way you can see what
- 26:53Speaker 1: it looks like to be inside the Treehouse with us.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Like today, for example, Uh, I'm wearing green, Trey's wearing red.
- 27:01Speaker 1: We look like some sort of late Christmas theme going on,
- 27:04Speaker 1: which is different for us because usually Trey and I
- 27:07Speaker 1: somehow sync up our shirt colors unintentionally. It's always accidental.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Rog thinks it's a conspiracy we have against him, Like
- 27:14Speaker 1: if Trey and I are both wearing blue or white, Rog,
- 27:18Speaker 1: you think that we're out to get you in some way.
- 27:20Speaker 1: It's really not. There's there's nothing intentional here. It's just accidental.
- 27:23Speaker 2: No, I just think you guys text and go what
- 27:25Speaker 2: do you? What do you? What are you gonna? What
- 27:27Speaker 2: are you gonna wear today?
- 27:28Speaker 1: And then I will say it is suspicious because on
- 27:30Speaker 1: days that we wear the same color, that's obvious. But
- 27:32Speaker 1: even days like today where I'm wearing green and Trey's
- 27:34Speaker 1: wearing red, they actually compliment one another.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Did you ever see Heartbreak Ridge?
- 27:45Speaker 2: No?
- 27:47Speaker 4: I think it was heartbreak Ridge. Anyways, I actually know.
- 27:49Speaker 4: I just I text har and ask what she's laid
- 27:52Speaker 4: out for day.
- 27:53Speaker 3: On that day, and then I go, Accordingly.
- 27:56Speaker 1: My wife does not pick out my clothing.
- 28:00Speaker 3: She certainly knows what you're gonna wear.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Because I'm already wearing it.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Okay, damn sure. You're a big boy. You can pick
- 28:11Speaker 2: out your own clothes.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I am a big boy and I can't pick out
- 28:14Speaker 1: my own clothing. Where do you guys come up with
- 28:17Speaker 1: this crap?
- 28:21Speaker 2: Because we can just see it in our head, Like,
- 28:23Speaker 2: here's honey, you have to do a show today and
- 28:25Speaker 2: put on the green one.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Don't embarrass mama.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Just chunks the twenty inches.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Fine, I'm gonna read a story that's going to make
- 28:43Speaker 1: me smile. Try to distract the two bullies inside the treehouse. Here.
- 28:50Speaker 1: A woman in Indonesia has gone viral the reason she
- 28:54Speaker 1: got her nose ring caught in the mesh of an
- 28:57Speaker 1: office chair. Do you guys ever remember when you were
- 29:03Speaker 1: kids and then like someone would get something pierced, and
- 29:07Speaker 1: then someone's parent would inevitably say, what are you gonna
- 29:10Speaker 1: do if that? If someone like ear piercing? What are
- 29:13Speaker 1: you gonna do if someone rips it out of your head.
- 29:15Speaker 1: What are you gonna do if it gets caught on
- 29:17Speaker 1: a volleyball net or something, or it gets caught on
- 29:19Speaker 1: the tether bolt something and gets ripped out. And we
- 29:23Speaker 1: always brushed it off like that's not gonna happen. It happened.
- 29:29Speaker 1: It happened to a girl in Indonesia. She got her
- 29:31Speaker 1: nosering caught on the mesh on the back of an
- 29:34Speaker 1: office chair and because of it, she's gone viral.
- 29:38Speaker 6: Uh.
- 29:39Speaker 1: No one could get it loose for some reason, so
- 29:40Speaker 1: they had to call for help. She says she was
- 29:45Speaker 1: joking around and she stuck her nose in the holes
- 29:47Speaker 1: in the back of the office chair and that's when
- 29:50Speaker 1: the piercing got caught. So she did this to herself.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I don't know why. You play with it to see
- 29:55Speaker 1: if it will get caught, and then you act surprised
- 29:57Speaker 1: when it does. But go figure.
- 30:00Speaker 6: Uh.
- 30:00Speaker 1: There is video of the entire rescue mission and they
- 30:02Speaker 1: had some fun with it. She seems scared during the
- 30:05Speaker 1: ride in the back of the van with the chair,
- 30:08Speaker 1: so they had to, I guess take her to the
- 30:11Speaker 1: fire department house in Indonesia to cut her loose because
- 30:15Speaker 1: I guess they're not armed with the proper things and
- 30:18Speaker 1: with the Indonesian fire department. I have no idea.
- 30:22Speaker 2: How do you, uh, how did they cut her out
- 30:24Speaker 2: like fighters?
- 30:27Speaker 1: Well, they pretended initially like they were going to use
- 30:30Speaker 1: a chainsaw to free or which I appreciate.
- 30:33Speaker 2: I think that's hysterical, well done.
- 30:37Speaker 1: I mean, look at it this way. I mean, if
- 30:38Speaker 1: you're gonna have if you're gonna be called in to
- 30:41Speaker 1: remove a girl and her nose ring from the back
- 30:44Speaker 1: of an office chair, if you're the firefighters, then you
- 30:47Speaker 1: might as well have a little fun with it. Yeah,
- 30:50Speaker 1: all right, hold still, don't move, really, do not move
- 30:58Speaker 1: a donus points if you pulled on the clown mask
- 31:00Speaker 1: right before you get started. So they were messing with
- 31:09Speaker 1: her and pulled out the chainsaw, but ultimately they just
- 31:13Speaker 1: used some pliers to cut her free.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, thank god. It wasn't like a nipple ring
- 31:18Speaker 2: or something like that would be that would be super awkward.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Well, you wouldn't. You wouldn't bring you wouldn't bust out
- 31:23Speaker 1: the chainsaw there, the firefighters would pull out something else.
- 31:30Speaker 1: It's good thing you called the fire department because you.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Look hot.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Alarm, Yeah, you look hot and stuck.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Yeah, they definitely been like, yeah, we're gonna need backup
- 31:43Speaker 3: for this.

- 32:43Speaker 1: is Monday, January twentieth, twenty twenty five, so let's celebrate.
- 32:50Speaker 1: What's some birthdays today? Turning thirty eight? Turning thirty eight
- 33:00Speaker 1: today is actor Evan Peters. Evan Peters is thirty eight.
- 33:04Speaker 1: When I first saw it was Evan Peters thirty eighth birthday,
- 33:06Speaker 1: I thought, Wow, he's a lot younger than I thought.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I also thought this was the porn star Evan Peters birthday.
- 33:11Speaker 1: It turns out I was wrong. This is a mainstream
- 33:15Speaker 1: actor Evan Peters, who's been an American horror story X
- 33:20Speaker 1: Men Apocalypse, X Men Dark Phoenix, and X Men Days
- 33:23Speaker 1: of Future Past. He's the one that played Quicksilver in
- 33:27Speaker 1: those X Men movies. He's also the one that reprised
- 33:31Speaker 1: that role in the MCU TV TV version show Scarlett
- 33:36Speaker 1: Witch you know, Envision series. Very good actor. He's also,
- 33:41Speaker 1: by the way, if you watched the Dahmer series on
- 33:44Speaker 1: Netflix a couple of years ago, that's him.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Oh gotcha? Okay, and again.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Porn star Evan Peters, but the main.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't know there was a porn star Evan Peters.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Yeah, there is there. I mean, I'm gonna I'm to
- 34:00Speaker 1: google this just to make sure.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Yeah, clearly are a fan of the other one's works or.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Or we believe you, Dan.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I just believe you, brother. You just like off the
- 34:16Speaker 2: Top of the Dome, you're not to be confused with.
- 34:19Speaker 2: I wasn't confusing him. I didn't know there was one
- 34:23Speaker 2: top of the Dome.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, if I have the correct male porn star
- 34:31Speaker 1: Evan Peters is the one that actually visited our radio
- 34:34Speaker 1: studios years and years ago. Trey with his then girlfriend
- 34:38Speaker 1: or wife one of the porn stars from Texas. I
- 34:43Speaker 1: can see her face and I'm drawing a blank right now.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Just nothing.
- 34:50Speaker 2: No, he I wasn't there.
- 34:53Speaker 3: That's never never, never noticed the guys.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Really it was Jessica. It's Jessica something. Someone will know it.
- 35:08Speaker 2: I'm sure you could wikipedia him, I get. I don't
- 35:11Speaker 2: know how. I don't know if there was a porn
- 35:12Speaker 2: Wikipedia Jessica Drake.
- 35:15Speaker 1: That's it. Jessica Drake. Thank you, Trey. See you do
- 35:17Speaker 1: remember there.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Was a day we had I remember the girls.
- 35:23Speaker 1: You didn't recognize him. I remember because there was hubbub
- 35:27Speaker 1: around beyond because Jessica Drake, pornstar, was going to visit
- 35:30Speaker 1: the radio show that that day. And I get. I
- 35:33Speaker 1: don't know if she was married to Evan Peters, who
- 35:36Speaker 1: was also an adult film star, or they were just
- 35:38Speaker 1: boyfriend girlfriend, whatever, But I remember I'm going into our
- 35:41Speaker 1: office because Jessica Drake was in the studio. And I
- 35:46Speaker 1: went to our office and in the office was her man,
- 35:48Speaker 1: Evan Peters, and I recognized. I was like, that guy
- 35:51Speaker 1: looks really familiar. Oh yeah, I know.
- 35:53Speaker 4: Why didn't we kick her out of studio because she
- 35:56Speaker 4: was such a bitch.
- 35:59Speaker 1: It's really hard to keep them all straight. Which one did?
- 36:01Speaker 1: What I do remember the last one of the last
- 36:04Speaker 1: porn stars we had in uh, eventually found Jesus. Not
- 36:08Speaker 1: not long after she visited our studio. That was Jenni Presley.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Jenni Pressley I remember, came in. She signed h Chuck
- 36:18Speaker 1: the band manager's keyboards. And then like three weeks later, Uh,
- 36:23Speaker 1: there was news that she had she had joined the
- 36:25Speaker 1: Triple X Church, which is for reformed porn stars.
- 36:30Speaker 2: That's a that's a church I could get behind.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Yes, yes it is.
- 36:37Speaker 2: I'd find Jesus there too, And I'm Hindu, so that'd
- 36:41Speaker 2: be great.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Communion is on a whole other level in that in
- 36:46Speaker 1: that church, hot.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Body of Christ.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Offering with the mouth open.
- 37:03Speaker 1: I can see the alure.
- 37:10Speaker 5: You're in these mis us online at Treehouse on Air

- 38:06Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you guys about. But before I
- 38:09Speaker 1: do that, I had one more additional thought about the
- 38:12Speaker 1: girl from Indonesia who went viral for getting her nosering
- 38:15Speaker 1: stuck on the back of an office chair. The firefighters
- 38:19Speaker 1: came out and were messing with her. They came out
- 38:23Speaker 1: with a chainsaw and said, all right, hold still, which
- 38:25Speaker 1: is great. Uh, but I think they could have, you know,
- 38:28Speaker 1: kept going with that bit, start with the chainsaw and going,
- 38:31Speaker 1: you know what, we got something else. Bring out the
- 38:33Speaker 1: jaws of life. Give that a shot. Bring out like
- 38:36Speaker 1: those big landscaping loppers, you know, to give that a shot.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Just just levels of of of you know, terror to
- 38:44Speaker 1: instill in this young girl. And then I thought another
- 38:47Speaker 1: one that would have been good as you get the
- 38:49Speaker 1: entire uh you know, all the fire, all the fire
- 38:52Speaker 1: all the firefighters from that particular firehouse, right and one
- 38:57Speaker 1: of them grabs her by the waist from behind, and
- 39:00Speaker 1: all the rest of them grab him from behind, and
- 39:02Speaker 1: so on and so forth, and then they say all
- 39:04Speaker 1: I want on three, everybody pull.
- 39:08Speaker 2: And then somebody goes got your nose?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Yes, it turns out I got a little evil streak
- 39:17Speaker 1: in me, assuming I'm going to make up for the
- 39:19Speaker 1: evil streak with this. There is a job opportunity out
- 39:23Speaker 1: there in case you're looking for a change Planters, as
- 39:27Speaker 1: in the nut company. Planters is hiring three people to
- 39:33Speaker 1: drive their Nutmobile around the country for one year and
- 39:38Speaker 1: be a brand ambassador. It pays forty five thousand dollars
- 39:41Speaker 1: plus benefits, and you also get a travel stipend. If
- 39:44Speaker 1: you want to apply, you can do so at plantersnutmobile
- 39:49Speaker 1: dot com. So I realize that the ultimate brand ambassador
- 39:58Speaker 1: position I think you can have in this niche industry

- 40:40Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I would love to. I'm gonna apply it
- 40:42Speaker 2: for that job and I'm just going to drive by
- 40:44Speaker 2: places where kids have nut allergies. It's gonna be my
- 40:54Speaker 2: full function.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I like how I think how Trey is like fingertutting
- 40:57Speaker 1: right now, Like like he's like.
- 40:59Speaker 4: He's a Bond villain. I know I didn't get the Nutmobile.
- 41:05Speaker 4: I mean, what do you mean my passenger seat always
- 41:11Speaker 4: that that's just the nut thrown. You're welcome, You're a
- 41:23Speaker 4: different nut.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Just imagine sidedly got next to uh, next to a
- 41:39Speaker 1: romantic interest out of bar and say, you know, I'd
- 41:42Speaker 1: grab the nutmobile.
- 41:47Speaker 4: Every time every city, every city rolled into.
