Rain, a harvest festival, and a house that only turns up when it wants something.
Five strangers arrive in Daggerford on the one night a year the town is worth visiting. There is music in the square, a widow playing flute in the downpour, a dollmaker giving away his best work, and a stablemaster who has burned thirty-two marks into his stable wall and will tell you exactly what they count.
