Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: But we go Gavin Drive, very good morning to you, Gavin.
- 0:03Speaker 2: I Mike.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Now we've got to confirmed it. It was sort of
- 0:06Speaker 1: reported here yesterday that the King isn't coming. Is that
- 0:10Speaker 1: for sure?
- 0:11Speaker 2: It's not for sure, but it's looking more and more
- 0:14Speaker 2: likely now. I think the sources are basically suggesting that
- 0:17Speaker 2: the King's tour will include Australia and Samoa, but not
- 0:22Speaker 2: New Zealand and Fiji. His Majesty is said to be
- 0:26Speaker 2: like a cage tiger, frankly desperate to do more, whiles
- 0:30Speaker 2: ondergoing chemotherapy and having accounts of diagnosis. He's recently actually
- 0:34Speaker 2: done a succession of public engagements in the last few days,
- 0:37Speaker 2: including appearing quite regularly at Royal ask at the racehorse
- 0:41Speaker 2: meeting beloved by his mother. But it does look like
- 0:44Speaker 2: they've decided he would be better off perhaps doing a
- 0:47Speaker 2: ten day trip to Australia and Samoa rather than go
- 0:50Speaker 2: for the two three weeks away which was the original intention.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Just deciding to limit his time to limit the amount
- 0:57Speaker 2: of energy he will needs for the trip. But as
- 0:59Speaker 2: yet confirmation of that.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Okay, and then we've got the business of Manchester. They
- 1:03Speaker 1: got the power back on on the plane's flying.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Oh Mike, what an absolute mess. So Manchester Airport is
- 1:09Speaker 2: the biggest airport in the UK outside of London. Big
- 1:13Speaker 2: airlines like Virgin Atlantic Jet, Too Easy Jet there and
- 1:17Speaker 2: terminals one and two have been out of bounds most
- 1:21Speaker 2: of the day because of a power cut. Passengers reported
- 1:25Speaker 2: entering the terminal and basically things being completely dark. Computers
- 1:31Speaker 2: weren't working, the lights weren't working, the air conditioning not working,
- 1:34Speaker 2: and flights inbound had to be diverted. Flights outbound were canceled.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Then passengers were told yep, okay, some of those earlier
- 1:42Speaker 2: flights now we're going, but they possibly wouldn't have their
- 1:45Speaker 2: luggage with them, so I'm afraid it has been a
- 1:47Speaker 2: chaotic day. They are beginning to get back to scratch
- 1:50Speaker 2: with it now, but obviously lengthy cues and very very
- 1:53Speaker 2: frustrated people at the start of some of our holidays
- 1:57Speaker 2: taking place in that sort of after the school exam
- 2:01Speaker 2: breaks exactly it. For more from News Talk st B,
