- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome, it is Verdict with Ted Cruz, Week in Review,
- 0:03Speaker 1: Ben Ferguson with you, and these are the stories that
- 0:05Speaker 1: you may have missed that we talked about this week.
- 0:07Speaker 1: First up, France is burning, and the leadership, Macron especially,
- 0:13Speaker 1: is completely silent on what's actually happening. So how did
- 0:17Speaker 1: they lose their country.
- 0:18Speaker 2: And get to this point? We break it down.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Next up, a shocking attack on your freedom to work
- 0:25Speaker 1: in our federal government to serve the president. United States
- 0:28Speaker 1: of America is a radical left. Democratic senator is now
- 0:32Speaker 1: warning young people that your life may be ruined if
- 0:36Speaker 1: you go work for President Donald J.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Trump and the administration.
- 0:40Speaker 1: So is there any pushback or is this the new reality?
- 0:43Speaker 1: We break that down as well. And finally, Elam Omar,
- 0:47Speaker 1: if that's actually really even her name, well, is now
- 0:50Speaker 1: under even more scrutiny in the investigation against her. So
- 0:54Speaker 1: what are the facts? What do we know? And what
- 0:56Speaker 1: is the next steps? We have that for you as well.
- 1:00Speaker 1: It's the Week in Review, and it starts right now.
- 1:03Speaker 1: By the way, France leadership is also really shocking right now.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Macron is basically lame duck. He's out in, I think,
- 1:09Speaker 1: six months or less. he did a address to the nation,
- 1:14Speaker 1: I think it was Sunday night over there, where he
- 1:17Speaker 1: was saying, I can't believe that the French people would
- 1:20Speaker 1: do this to France. There was an amount of just
- 1:24Speaker 1: pathological being tone death to reality. Instead of calling it
- 1:30Speaker 1: out the way that you just did, that this is
- 1:33Speaker 1: a massive immigration problem, Islamist problem, communist problem, And realizing
- 1:38Speaker 1: a lot of the protesters clearly are people that have
- 1:40Speaker 1: come into France. They were not born in France.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Who he's invited. Who he has invited.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Yes. And embraced and welcomed. Come invade my nation and
- 1:49Speaker 3: destroy it.
- 1:50Speaker 1: And he sits there and goes, I can't believe the
- 1:52Speaker 1: people of France, right? The citizens of France would do
- 1:55Speaker 1: this to France. And I'm like, dude, if you don't
- 1:57Speaker 1: know who's doing this to you, which is people, again,
- 1:59Speaker 1: you've invited them in, but they're not the people of France.
- 2:02Speaker 1: The people of France, the majority of them are terrified
- 2:04Speaker 1: and saddened by what they're watching.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Look, that is exactly right. It turns out the reverse
- 2:10Speaker 3: crusades were a really bad idea. Look, you look at
- 2:14Speaker 3: the crusades, the crusades where a bunch of Christians came
- 2:17Speaker 3: in and invaded the Middle East. Well, this is now
- 2:24Speaker 3: Muslim nations invading Europe and destroying them.
- 2:28Speaker 2: And I want you to listen to this.
- 2:30Speaker 3: This was a couple of weeks ago that a French woman,
- 2:33Speaker 3: a French woman named Thais de Escoffan, although my French
- 2:38Speaker 3: is not very good, she posted this video on Twitter,
- 2:43Speaker 3: and I actually retweeted it.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Elon Musk retweeted it.
- 2:47Speaker 3: It's really powerful, and she's just a beautiful French woman
- 2:51Speaker 3: who is... grieving what is happening to the country she
- 2:55Speaker 3: loves and the culture she loves. I want you to
- 2:59Speaker 3: give a listen to what she has to say.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Hello to all friends of Europeans. I am native French
- 3:07Speaker 4: and I am so ashamed. I'm not ashamed of being French,
- 3:13Speaker 4: of course, but I'm so ashamed to see France accumulating
- 3:17Speaker 4: itself like this. being dragged through the muds for the
- 3:20Speaker 4: full world to see. For more than three days now,
- 3:23Speaker 4: you've seen that high school students have been wrecking havoc
- 3:27Speaker 4: across France to protest against their overly demanding school schedules,
- 3:32Speaker 4: poor things, and the lack of resources in schools to
- 3:35Speaker 4: provide them with a better quality of education. Here, for example,
- 3:39Speaker 4: you can see high school students protesting against the lack
- 3:43Speaker 4: of trash cans in their schools. Here, against the shortage
- 3:46Speaker 4: of teachers.
- 3:46Speaker 2: And here, against student poverty by setting fire to.
- 3:48Speaker 4: The eco-friendly, anti-racist Nelson Mandela High School, which costed 77
- 4:07Speaker 4: millions to build. Obviously, you understand that all of this
- 4:10Speaker 4: is nothing more than an excuse found by a certain
- 4:14Speaker 4: New France to skip school and unleash all their hatred
- 4:18Speaker 4: against everything that represents France, the police and even firefighters,
- 4:23Speaker 4: because They're racists. Meanwhile, Macron remains silent because he has
- 4:27Speaker 4: completely lost control. And you know, I remember when I
- 4:31Speaker 4: was in middle school, the 2005 riots in the suburbs
- 4:34Speaker 4: were discussed in contemporary history class. But now immigrants and
- 4:39Speaker 4: their descendants are everywhere. They are no longer confined to
- 4:43Speaker 4: the suburbs. Looting and mob violence are becoming increasingly frequent.
- 4:48Speaker 4: The Nile case, every PSG match celebration, Black Lives Matter
- 4:52Speaker 4: and so on. Not to mention the everyday assaults, murders
- 4:55Speaker 4: and rapes committed against our people. It has become so
- 4:59Speaker 4: recurrent that no one would even bother keeping track of
- 5:02Speaker 4: every riot anymore. It has become almost normal. Every generation
- 5:07Speaker 4: of immigrants hates us more than the one before. Some
- 5:11Speaker 4: of these rioters are 14, 15 years old. However, they
- 5:15Speaker 4: were born here, raised here. So do you really think
- 5:19Speaker 4: things are going to get better? We have done everything
- 5:23Speaker 4: for them. Everything. Social benefits, anti-racist policies, new schools. And
- 5:29Speaker 4: this is how they thank us? Assimilation is a myth.
- 5:33Speaker 4: We have to stop pretending it is possible to make
- 5:35Speaker 4: it work anymore. Now they are trying to make us
- 5:38Speaker 4: feel sorry for them because one of them lost an
- 5:40Speaker 4: eye while attacking police officers. I can tell you that
- 5:43Speaker 4: not only will I never shed a single tear for
- 5:47Speaker 4: these thugs, but they would deserve for there to be
- 5:49Speaker 4: more of them. The question is, How did we ever
- 5:52Speaker 4: get to this point? France, like this jewel of European civilization,
- 5:57Speaker 4: a country of extraordinary cultural wealth, brought to its knees
- 6:01Speaker 4: by Turks with an IQ of 80? They only understand force,
- 6:06Speaker 4: and we are too weak. We need to get rid
- 6:09Speaker 4: of all empathy. These people hate us and would like
- 6:12Speaker 4: to see us dead, so we will never coexist peacefully.
- 6:16Speaker 4: It is either them for us so the reasonable and
- 6:19Speaker 4: peaceful solution is to send them back to the countries
- 6:23Speaker 4: of origin they love so much. Please share this video. Americans, Westerners,
- 6:29Speaker 4: Europeans and their friends, the French are counting on you
- 6:32Speaker 4: to shine a light on what the media refuse to
- 6:35Speaker 4: show about the situation here. Look at what we have become.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Do not make the same mistakes we did. Close your
- 6:41Speaker 4: borders while you still have time. Across the world, European
- 6:45Speaker 4: peoples are facing the same problems. We are all in
- 6:49Speaker 4: this together and together we will prevail.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Senator, you know, you listen to this video and then
- 6:54Speaker 1: you look at one of the other pictures that has
- 6:56Speaker 1: gone viral over the last, I don't know, 12 hours.
- 7:00Speaker 1: There is a couple in Paris. where the rioters robbed them.
- 7:05Speaker 1: They were in their 80s, and they left them only
- 7:08Speaker 1: in their underwear. They stole their clothes. They stole all
- 7:11Speaker 1: of their belongings. And the picture shows the masked men.
- 7:14Speaker 1: They're all in black. They have the hoodies on with
- 7:17Speaker 1: two people that are in their 80s. I mean, an 80-year-old,
- 7:20Speaker 1: they look like they are 80. The man is in
- 7:23Speaker 1: his underwear. The woman is in her underwear, nightgown-esque type thing.
- 7:26Speaker 1: They stole everything that they had in the streets, and
- 7:30Speaker 1: no one stopped them, and they're 80.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Look, this is evil. This is violent. This is dangerous.
- 7:39Speaker 3: And, you know, the tragedy is this was invited by
- 7:43Speaker 3: the French government. It has been invited by Europe. They
- 7:46Speaker 3: have welcomed Islamist invaders. You know, one of the most
- 7:50Speaker 3: profound things that that young woman said there is each
- 7:53Speaker 3: generation of these immigrants hates us more than the one
- 7:55Speaker 3: before them.
- 7:58Speaker 2: And we are seeing this. This is not.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Look, America, we're a country of immigrants, but immigrants who
- 8:04Speaker 3: came here to assimilate. One of the things she says
- 8:07Speaker 3: also is assimilation is a myth. If you look at
- 8:10Speaker 3: particularly the illegal immigrants in America who Joe Biden and
- 8:15Speaker 3: the Democrats invited in, they invited them in to change
- 8:18Speaker 3: this country, not to become Americans, but to fundamentally tear
- 8:22Speaker 3: this country down. You look at the Islamist... whether Abdul
- 8:26Speaker 3: Zayed or whether Zoran Mondami, they want to fundamentally change
- 8:32Speaker 3: this country and mandate Sharia law and take away our liberties.
- 8:35Speaker 3: That's what is at stake here. And I got to say,
- 8:39Speaker 3: you know, another video that went viral that I want
- 8:42Speaker 3: to play right now is a video of another pretty
- 8:46Speaker 3: young French woman, although this pretty young French woman is
- 8:49Speaker 3: a leftist. And she originally started joining the protest because
- 8:54Speaker 3: as a leftist, she's like, oh, this protesting is great.
- 8:56Speaker 3: But it so happens that this French woman is also,
- 8:59Speaker 3: her father owns a store and the protesters began looting
- 9:03Speaker 3: the store. And the video I'm going to play, it's
- 9:07Speaker 3: in French. So Ben and I are going to narrate
- 9:10Speaker 3: the English translation of what she's saying.
- 9:13Speaker 2: If you can.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Watch the video, this is a good one to watch
- 9:15Speaker 3: on YouTube because the images are really profound. But I
- 9:18Speaker 3: want to play it And Ben and I, while it's playing,
- 9:22Speaker 3: are going to tell you in English what she's saying.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Here, give a listen.
- 9:27Speaker 1: She starts yelling, stop. Why are you doing this? This
- 9:31Speaker 1: isn't the cause. Don't touch me. Stop it, she says.
- 9:36Speaker 1: This ain't your store. My father's store. Get some wine,
- 9:40Speaker 1: one of the people yells. They're in the store, destroyed.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I'm done shopping, one of them says. There's shampoo, want
- 9:45Speaker 1: some ice cream.
- 9:46Speaker 3: The look of horror on this young woman's face, it's
- 9:50Speaker 3: an image that has gone viral, the look of just
- 9:53Speaker 3: agony and horror. And the line she said, this isn't
- 9:57Speaker 3: the cause, and she says that multiple times, this isn't
- 9:59Speaker 3: the cause.
- 10:00Speaker 2: This isn't the cause.
- 10:01Speaker 3: And by the way, they forcibly push her out of
- 10:03Speaker 3: the way and they're just breaking into the store. They're
- 10:05Speaker 3: trashing it. They're taking everything from the store. And these
- 10:08Speaker 3: are thieves and criminals. And you see this young leftist
- 10:12Speaker 3: who understands she voted for this. This is what she wanted.
- 10:15Speaker 3: These are the people she wanted in France. And you see, look,
- 10:20Speaker 3: when the mob comes for you, they turn on even
- 10:25Speaker 3: the naive liberals who welcome them in. And it is tragic,
- 10:30Speaker 3: but it's also a real warning to America. Yeah, it is.
- 10:34Speaker 1: And by the way, the numbers are not just like
- 10:35Speaker 1: 10 stores or 20 stores. It is in the thousands,
- 10:39Speaker 1: they say, of stores that have been ransacked, looted or attacked.
- 10:43Speaker 1: In all across France. I mean, when we say this
- 10:46Speaker 1: is widespread and anarchy, that is literally what this is.
- 10:50Speaker 1: It's not in one little area. This is in multiple places.
- 10:53Speaker 1: They're also going after the government buildings, historic buildings, burning churches.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I mean, there is nothing that is off limits in
- 11:00Speaker 1: France right now.
- 11:01Speaker 3: And understand, like the Black Lives Matter riots in the
- 11:04Speaker 3: United States, like the anti-Semitic protests and riots on college
- 11:09Speaker 3: campuses across the country, like the open border riots we
- 11:13Speaker 3: had in America, this is not organic.
- 11:15Speaker 2: This is funded.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 11:19Speaker 1: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 11:22Speaker 1: from earlier this week.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Now on to story number two.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Yeah, amen to that. I want to move from that
- 11:28Speaker 1: story to one that's very different. And that deals with
- 11:31Speaker 1: one of your colleagues from Michigan saying this at the
- 11:36Speaker 1: University of Chicago campus, warning conservatives, young conservatives, you do
- 11:43Speaker 1: not want to go work in the Trump administration because
- 11:46Speaker 1: if you do, it could have lasting effects on your life.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Here she is at the University of Chicago, their political institute,
- 11:53Speaker 1: and one of your colleagues said this.
- 11:55Speaker 5: So that's what I'm saying. I want to look at
- 11:57Speaker 5: these signature cases and not just focus on the president,
- 12:01Speaker 5: but on the people who enabled him. I want young
- 12:04Speaker 5: people coming out of school to say, should I go
- 12:06Speaker 5: work for the Trump administration? Like, that sounds fun. I
- 12:08Speaker 5: might get an opportunity. I want them to be like, Lord,
- 12:12Speaker 5: that might be buying myself a ton of problems that
- 12:15Speaker 5: I don't want. And so let me avoid participating in that.
- 12:19Speaker 5: I want that deterrence message.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Let's be clear what she's saying, Senator.
- 12:23Speaker 2: She's saying.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I want to weaponize the government to break people. I
- 12:28Speaker 1: want to financially ruin and destroy people that go work
- 12:30Speaker 1: for Donald Trump. I want good people to be afraid
- 12:33Speaker 1: to work anywhere in this administration, serving their fellow man
- 12:39Speaker 1: in our government. And you better say to yourself, this
- 12:42Speaker 1: is not a good opportunity for me to go work
- 12:44Speaker 1: for the president of United States of America. This is
- 12:46Speaker 1: an opportunity that could land me in jail or bankrupt
- 12:49Speaker 1: or indicted or worse, apparently.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Well, unfortunately, nothing you're saying there is hyperbole. None of
- 12:57Speaker 3: that is an exaggeration. You know, Alyssa Slotkin is a
- 13:00Speaker 3: freshman senator. She was newly elected from Michigan. She's a Democrat.
- 13:04Speaker 3: And she styles herself a moderate. She tells the voters, oh,
- 13:07Speaker 3: I'm a moderate. I'm a reasonable middle-of-the-road Democrat.
- 13:11Speaker 2: She is not.
- 13:12Speaker 3: This is powerful evidence. Now, Alyssa Slotkin is also actively
- 13:16Speaker 3: campaigning for Abdul Al-Sayed, who is He, along with James Tallarico,
- 13:22Speaker 3: are the two most dangerous and radical Senate candidates in
- 13:25Speaker 3: the country, and Alyssa Slotkin is happily and enthusiastically supporting El-Sayed.
- 13:30Speaker 3: What she is saying here is openly weaponizing the federal government.
- 13:38Speaker 3: And understand, she's not saying, if someone commits a criminal offense,
- 13:42Speaker 3: we're going to prosecute them. That's actually a reasonable statement.
- 13:45Speaker 3: That's a statement I agree with. If you commit a
- 13:46Speaker 3: criminal offense, you should be prosecuted regardless of your party.
- 13:50Speaker 3: She's saying, no, I want us to go after young people.
- 13:53Speaker 3: She is targeting kids. She's targeting 21, 22-year-old kids fresh
- 13:58Speaker 3: out of college. And she's saying, if you go take
- 14:01Speaker 3: a job in the federal government, when the Democrats get
- 14:05Speaker 3: in power, we're going to come after you. And by
- 14:06Speaker 3: the way, what 21, 22-year-old can defend themselves against a prosecution,
- 14:12Speaker 3: against civil liability? I mean, you want to talk about
- 14:14Speaker 3: bankrupting kids, and she's very open about it. She wants
- 14:18Speaker 3: to deter. She wants college graduates to say, you know what?
- 14:21Speaker 3: I'm not going to work for the federal government because
- 14:26Speaker 3: the Democrats are going to inflict so much pain.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Look at her quote.
- 14:34Speaker 3: I want young people coming out of school to say,
- 14:37Speaker 3: should I go work for the Trump administration? Like, that
- 14:41Speaker 3: sounds fun. I might get an opportunity. I want them
- 14:44Speaker 3: to be like, Lord, that might be buying myself a
- 14:47Speaker 3: ton of problems that I don't want. So let me
- 14:51Speaker 3: avoid participating in that. I want that deterrence message. She's
- 14:55Speaker 3: not suggesting anyone committed any crime, did anything wrong. She's
- 14:58Speaker 3: just saying, if you go work for them, we are
- 15:02Speaker 3: going to punish you. We are going to abuse you.
- 15:04Speaker 3: We are going to use the power of the government
- 15:06Speaker 3: to crush you.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I'm going to be honest.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know anyone else who's made
- 15:13Speaker 3: a threat like this. Law professor Jonathan Turley rightly criticized
- 15:18Speaker 3: the remarks he said that she had, quote, said the
- 15:22Speaker 3: quiet part out loud. And I think that's right. But
- 15:28Speaker 3: it is really open and direct. And look, Barack Obama...
- 15:36Speaker 3: began the practice of weaponizing the federal government and successfully
- 15:41Speaker 3: weaponizing the federal government. And what Richard Nixon had tried
- 15:44Speaker 3: to do, when Nixon tried to use the federal government
- 15:48Speaker 3: to go after his political opponents, the system worked and
- 15:51Speaker 3: it actually resisted his effort to politicize the federal government. Well,
- 15:55Speaker 3: what Nixon tried to do, Barack Obama succeeded in doing. Look,
- 16:00Speaker 3: Lois Lerner used the IRS to target conservatives, to go
- 16:04Speaker 3: after conservatives, people who did things like defended the Constitution.
- 16:08Speaker 3: They made the Constitution a key word that if you
- 16:12Speaker 3: spoke out in favor of the Constitution, they would target
- 16:15Speaker 3: and persecute you. And by the way, Lois Lerner was
- 16:18Speaker 3: held in contempt of Congress. She repeatedly pleaded the Fifth.
- 16:22Speaker 3: And it was open weaponization. What Nixon tried to do,
- 16:26Speaker 3: Obama succeeded in doing, and then Biden made it even worse.
- 16:30Speaker 3: You remember his attorney general, Merrick Garland, wrote a memo
- 16:33Speaker 3: to the FBI directing the FBI to target parents who
- 16:39Speaker 3: exercise their First Amendment rights and go to school boards
- 16:41Speaker 3: and to target them as domestic terrorists. Again, this was
- 16:45Speaker 3: weaponization because they didn't want parents speaking out on behalf
- 16:48Speaker 3: of their kids. Slotkin is taking it further. We're going
- 16:52Speaker 3: to go after kids. And it is a sign of
- 16:56Speaker 3: just how radical today's Democrat Party is.
- 17:00Speaker 1: When you look at what she said there, how many
- 17:02Speaker 1: of your colleagues on the left probably agree with her,
- 17:05Speaker 1: just are not willing to say that, as you mentioned earlier,
- 17:07Speaker 1: as you were quoting there, the silent.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Part out loud? Look, I don't know of a single
- 17:15Speaker 3: one of my Democrat colleagues who's disagreed with her. If
- 17:19Speaker 3: there has been even one Democrat Senator who has said,
- 17:22Speaker 3: Alyssa was wrong. We should not be persecuting kids fresh
- 17:27Speaker 3: out of college, go work for the federal government. If
- 17:28Speaker 3: they've said it, I haven't seen it. And look, most
- 17:33Speaker 3: of them wouldn't say that out loud, but you know what?
- 17:36Speaker 3: During Barack Obama, not a single Democrat Senator spoke up
- 17:39Speaker 3: and said, this is wrong. During Joe Biden, not a
- 17:42Speaker 3: single Democrat Senator spoke up and said, this is wrong.
- 17:45Speaker 3: When Donald Trump was indicted, not once, not twice, not
- 17:48Speaker 3: three times, but four separate times, not even one Democrat
- 17:52Speaker 3: senator spoke up and said this is wrong. When Democrat
- 17:56Speaker 3: judges ordered that Trump be removed from the ballot so
- 18:00Speaker 3: the voters couldn't vote for him, not a single Democrat
- 18:03Speaker 3: senator spoke up and said this is wrong. By the way,
- 18:05Speaker 3: those decisions were reversed unanimously by the U.S. Supreme Court,
- 18:10Speaker 3: and yet every single Senate Democrat was silent. And... Listen,
- 18:15Speaker 3: as radical as they were under Obama, as even more
- 18:21Speaker 3: radical as they became under Biden, if the Democrats, if
- 18:26Speaker 3: these Democrats get power again, they will make us long
- 18:30Speaker 3: for the days of Obama and Biden. They are so
- 18:34Speaker 3: filled with rage. Listen, Alyssa Slotkin... is not perceived as
- 18:40Speaker 3: one of the more left-wing members of the Senate. Now,
- 18:43Speaker 3: her voting record essentially is, but she at least likes
- 18:47Speaker 3: to hold herself out as a moderate, and she's perfectly
- 18:50Speaker 3: happy saying, let's persecute the kids, let's punish them, let's
- 18:55Speaker 3: abuse government power, because we hate... the other party. That
- 19:01Speaker 3: is a really, really dangerous threshold to cross.
- 19:04Speaker 1: As before, if you want to hear the rest of
- 19:06Speaker 1: this conversation on this topic, you can go back and
- 19:09Speaker 1: download the podcast from earlier this week to hear the
- 19:11Speaker 1: entire thing. I want to get back to the big story,
- 19:15Speaker 1: number three of the week you may have missed. All right, Senator,
- 19:18Speaker 1: I want to get back to, again, one of the
- 19:21Speaker 1: really interesting stories of the week dealt with one of
- 19:25Speaker 1: the members of the squad, one of the most radical
- 19:27Speaker 1: leftists in Congress, Alam Omar. That might not even be
- 19:31Speaker 1: her real name. And yeah, so we don't know exactly
- 19:35Speaker 1: how old she is. We don't know what her name is.
- 19:37Speaker 1: And we're not sure if she did or didn't apparently
- 19:39Speaker 1: possibly marry her brother. And we know that she's under
- 19:43Speaker 1: a major investigation.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Well, in this past week, the Department of Justice executed
- 19:51Speaker 3: a search warrant on Ilhan Omar's home. She is a
- 19:55Speaker 3: congresswoman from Minnesota. She is one of the most radical, noxious, Marxist, Islamist,
- 20:03Speaker 3: leftist members of Congress there is. There have long been
- 20:09Speaker 3: allegations and concerns that she committed immigration fraud. She was
- 20:14Speaker 3: born in Somalia, grew up in Somalia, came to the
- 20:16Speaker 3: United States as a minor. The bases for immigration fraud
- 20:21Speaker 3: are threefold. Number one, her father came, he got a
- 20:27Speaker 3: green card. She said on her application that she was
- 20:32Speaker 3: 17 at the time he got a green card. Under
- 20:34Speaker 3: immigration laws, if she was 17, she was entitled to
- 20:37Speaker 3: a green card to become a citizen herself If she
- 20:40Speaker 3: was 18, she was not. And so question number one
- 20:45Speaker 3: was how old was she when she applied to be
- 20:49Speaker 3: a citizen? There have been ongoing allegations that she lied
- 20:53Speaker 3: about her age, that she was 18 and she lied
- 20:55Speaker 3: about it and said she was 17. That's claim number one.
- 20:59Speaker 3: A second claim deals with her name. And I'm going
- 21:03Speaker 3: to read from you a story from the New York Post.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Ilhan Omar is not the Minnesota Congresswoman's real name. Sources.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Janine Pirro moved to keep the search warrant sealed as DNA, passport,
- 21:18Speaker 3: and phone were seized in an October 12th raid. And
- 21:22Speaker 3: here's what the New York Post writes. Ilhan Omar is
- 21:25Speaker 3: not the real name of the Minnesota Congresswoman, Fox Digital
- 21:28Speaker 3: News has learned. Her real name is Ilhan Noor Saeed Elmi,
- 21:36Speaker 3: which for the record is pretty different from Omar. according
- 21:40Speaker 3: to two people familiar with the ongoing investigation into the
- 21:43Speaker 3: Somali-born congresswoman, including a law enforcement source. And if proven
- 21:48Speaker 3: in court that Omar has lived her, quote, entire life
- 21:53Speaker 3: under an alias, a former Minnesota federal immigration judge tells
- 21:58Speaker 3: Fox News Digital that every single form she ever filled
- 22:02Speaker 3: out could be, quote, called into question. On Wednesday, U.S.
- 22:07Speaker 3: District Attorney for the District of Columbia, and actually that's
- 22:10Speaker 3: not District Attorney, that's U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia,
- 22:13Speaker 3: Janine Pirro, filed a motion seeking to prevent the federal
- 22:17Speaker 3: search warrant for the congresswoman's home from being unsealed, which
- 22:21Speaker 3: was requested by several media outlets. The motion says the
- 22:25Speaker 3: federal government has not yet finished executing the search warrant
- 22:28Speaker 3: and that it shouldn't be unsealed yet. Before the court
- 22:33Speaker 3: of three applications to unseal ex parte materials and proceedings
- 22:36Speaker 3: related to a federal search warrants for the personal residence
- 22:39Speaker 3: in the District of Columbia of Congresswoman Ilhan Noor Saeed Elmi, a.k.a.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Ilhan Abdullah Ahi Omar, the motion begins. That's not her
- 22:51Speaker 3: real name, one real source said, when asked why the
- 22:54Speaker 3: motion used the a.k.a. Ilhan Abdullah Omar language. After publication,
- 23:00Speaker 3: a spokesperson from Omar's office said, provided a statement to
- 23:03Speaker 3: Fox News Digital disputing the report. Quote, this is completely false.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Ilhan Omar is a real name, the spokesperson said, followed
- 23:11Speaker 3: by an attack on Fox News. Now, those are the
- 23:15Speaker 3: two claims, but the claim that has been most persistent
- 23:19Speaker 3: of immigration fraud was not that she lied about her age,
- 23:22Speaker 3: although that's a real dispute. And it was not even
- 23:25Speaker 3: that she lied about her name, although that is apparently
- 23:29Speaker 3: a dispute now as well. The biggest allegation against Ilhan
- 23:34Speaker 3: Omar is that her brother wanted to become a U.S.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Citizen.
- 23:39Speaker 3: And to help him become a U.S. citizen, Ilhan Omar
- 23:43Speaker 3: married her brother. And because if a foreign national marries
- 23:48Speaker 3: a U.S. citizen, you can get that foreign national green card,
- 23:52Speaker 3: the act of marrying her brother helped her brother become
- 23:55Speaker 3: a U.S. citizen. Now, that is a serious allegation of
- 23:57Speaker 3: immigration fraud. If it was demonstrated, it would be a
- 24:01Speaker 3: criminal offense. It could potentially support her denaturalization, the removal
- 24:07Speaker 3: of her U.S. citizenship, and it could support her deportation.
- 24:10Speaker 3: So it is serious. Now, Democrats are freaking out. How
- 24:13Speaker 3: dare you hold Ilhan Omar to account? I want you
- 24:18Speaker 3: to listen. So she did an interview on MSNOW, what
- 24:22Speaker 3: used to be MSNBC, with Chris Hayes, very liberal host,
- 24:25Speaker 3: smart guy, but very liberal host. And he asked her about, okay, look,
- 24:30Speaker 3: was your first husband your brother? Now, by the way,
- 24:34Speaker 3: was your first husband your brother? That ought to be
- 24:37Speaker 3: a real easy answer, like hell no, is what most
- 24:41Speaker 3: normal people would say. Give a listen to what Ilhan
- 24:44Speaker 3: Omar said, and mind you, this is from a left-wing
- 24:47Speaker 3: host on MSNOW.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Who was this man that was your husband? When did
- 24:51Speaker 2: they start saying that he was your brother?
- 24:53Speaker 1: Why?
- 24:54Speaker 2: I started with the Somali blog.
- 25:00Speaker 3: I don't know if it still exists, but somebody put
- 25:02Speaker 3: in there that he had to have been my brother
- 25:06Speaker 3: or something to that effect.
- 25:07Speaker 2: You were not related to him at all.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Not to my knowledge.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Not to my knowledge.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Senator, that is not a normal answer. Let's just be
- 25:21Speaker 1: really clear.
- 25:23Speaker 3: So, Benjamin Ferguson, I want to ask you on the record.
- 25:26Speaker 3: I've never asked you this before. You're on Verdict. You're
- 25:29Speaker 3: on National Podcast and National Radio. Is Ana your sister?
- 25:34Speaker 2: No, she is not.
- 25:35Speaker 1: She is my wife.
- 25:36Speaker 2: She is not my sister. We are not related. You're certain.
- 25:39Speaker 4: I'm absolutely certain.
- 25:40Speaker 2: You're certain.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Your answer is not to my knowledge. Like, you may
- 25:43Speaker 3: have grown up with her and pulling her hair like
- 25:45Speaker 3: your whole childhood. By the way, Heidi was not your sister, right?
- 25:49Speaker 3: Let's just be clear, right? She most definitely is not.
- 25:55Speaker 3: She's a California girl who married into these crazy Cuban
- 25:59Speaker 3: Texan carnivores. She's a California vegetarian. She's most definitely not
- 26:06Speaker 3: my sister. She's my best friend. She's the love of
- 26:08Speaker 3: my life. But she is most assuredly not my sister.
- 26:12Speaker 2: It's amazing how easy it was to answer those questions.
- 26:14Speaker 3: I want everyone listening to this question. So look, we
- 26:18Speaker 3: have millions of listeners across the country. Some of y'all
- 26:22Speaker 3: are young. You're not married yet.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Okay, so fine.
- 26:24Speaker 3: So don't answer this question. But many of you, my
- 26:27Speaker 3: guess is more than half of our listeners, I don't
- 26:29Speaker 3: know this because our listenership skews young, but I'm still
- 26:34Speaker 3: going to guess that more than half of our listeners
- 26:36Speaker 3: are in fact married. I want you to ask yourself,
- 26:40Speaker 3: if someone asked you, Is your wife your sister? If
- 26:44Speaker 3: someone asked you, is your husband your brother? In what
- 26:49Speaker 3: universe would you answer, not to my knowledge? Like, is
- 26:54Speaker 3: that not a lawyerly, weaselly answer? And the Democrats are
- 26:58Speaker 3: freaking out. This is weaponization. This is persecution. They're going
- 27:01Speaker 3: after her. Look, let me be clear. If she is
- 27:04Speaker 3: innocent of these charges, then she should not be prosecuted.
- 27:09Speaker 3: But if she's guilty, if she's committed immigration fraud, then
- 27:12Speaker 3: she should be held to account. Everyone should be held
- 27:15Speaker 3: to account regardless of their party. The Democrats hate that.
- 27:19Speaker 3: That's what at stake here.
- 27:20Speaker 1: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Senator
- 27:24Speaker 1: Ted Cruz. Ben Ferguson with you. Don't forget to download
- 27:26Speaker 1: my podcast and you can listen to my podcast every
- 27:29Speaker 1: other day you're not listening to Verdict or each day
- 27:31Speaker 1: when you listen to Verdict afterwards. I'd love to have
- 27:33Speaker 1: you as a listener to, again, the Ben Ferguson podcast.
- 27:36Speaker 1: And we will see you back here on Monday morning.
