Speaker 1: Jerusalem for just one person who genuinely seeks the truth.

Speaker 1: who will genuinely seek after me, seek after truth? Just

Speaker 1: one person, one faithful believer, one person walking honestly before God.

Speaker 1: All right, let's jump into it. Jeremiah chapter five, Verse one.

Speaker 1: We're coming at you from the new King, James. And

Speaker 1: it says, run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem,

Speaker 1: see now and know and seek in her open places

Speaker 1: if you can find a man, if there is anyone

Speaker 1: who executes judgment, who seeks the truth, and who will

Speaker 1: and I will pardon her. Wow, that is a great challenge,

Speaker 1: just one man. God challenges Jeremiah right here to search

Speaker 1: the whole city, the entire city. Now, if one person
5:42
Speaker 1: could be found who is truly seeking after truth and justice,

Speaker 1: God will show mercy, he will spare the city. It's

Speaker 1: almost like God is looking for an excuse to be

Speaker 1: merciful right here. Wow, this is the heart of God.

Speaker 1: I mean, man, the incredible mercy of God is displayed

Speaker 1: right here. Because God wasn't looking for perfection. He was

Speaker 1: just looking for genuine righteousness, someone who is just genuine,

Speaker 1: someone who is real, someone who is really seeking after him. Now, family,

Speaker 1: think about this. God wasn't asking for a stadium full

Speaker 1: of believers right here. He was looking for one. Now.

Speaker 1: Question if God searched Las Vegas, if God searched Chicago,

Speaker 1: We're not talking about the entire country. We're talking about

Speaker 1: one city. If God searched it, would he find us

Speaker 1: standing for truth?

Speaker 1: Would we be the excuse for God to show mercy

Speaker 1: to our nation? Could we be the reason? All we

Speaker 1: have to do is have integrity and be honest before

Speaker 1: say as the Lord lives, surely they soar falsely. Oh Lord,

Speaker 1: are not your eyes on the truth. You have stricken them,

Speaker 1: but they have not grieved. You have consumed them, but

Speaker 1: they have refused to receive correction. They have made your

Speaker 1: face harder. Excuse me, they have made their face harder

Speaker 1: than a rock. They have refused to return. Okay, Now,

Speaker 1: the people spoke religious language right, they had the Christianese,

Speaker 1: but their heart remained untouched, unchanged, unyielded. They did not

Speaker 1: have a surrender in their hearts towards God. Now they

Speaker 1: expressed the correction, but they refuse the repentance. They experienced

Speaker 1: all the correction, but they refused repentance. They spoke the

Speaker 1: right things, but they refused to make the actual change.

Speaker 1: Our religion without in word, surrender is deception. Belove it. Now,

Speaker 1: this is dangerous. The most dangerous Christian is not the

Speaker 1: one who walks away from church, but the one who

Speaker 1: is sitting in church worship being God, saying all the Christianese,

Speaker 1: speaking the scripture, but still refuses to surrender their hearts

Speaker 1: to the Lord. God will always look beyond our words.

Speaker 1: God will look directly into our hearts. Love it. It

Speaker 1: is possible to say all the right things and still

Speaker 1: be far from God. And that is scary. God is

Speaker 1: That is scary. God is looking for sincerity, not performance.

Speaker 1: He doesn't want you to perform. He just wants sincere.

Speaker 1: I mean, think about it. If you married the person

Speaker 1: of your dreams and they were just fake towards you

Speaker 1: all the time. They didn't really love you, they didn't

Speaker 1: really care for you, they didn't want to spend time

Speaker 1: with you, how good would that relationship be? How long

Speaker 1: would that relationship last? This is the same thing with

Speaker 1: our God. He is a real person and he wants

Speaker 1: a real relationship with us. He is worth He deserves

Speaker 1: a real relationship with us. Do we realize how amazing

Speaker 1: and awesome this is the best relationship we could ever

Speaker 1: have in all eternity, and we are prone to neglect him.

Speaker 1: But that's going to change today. We got help on

Speaker 1: this podcast today Amen, four and five. Therefore I said,

Speaker 1: surely these are poor, they are foolish, for they do

Speaker 1: not know the way of the Lord, the judgment of

Speaker 1: their God. I will go to the great men and

Speaker 1: speak to them, for they have known the way of

Speaker 1: a lord Lord, the judgments of their God. But these

Speaker 1: have altogether broken the yoke and burst the bonds. All right,

Speaker 1: let's break that down now, Jeremiah. First thing, he thinks,

Speaker 1: he assumes that maybe it's ignorance. Ignorance maybe the problem.

Speaker 1: Maybe they just do not know. Right then he discovered

Speaker 1: that both common people and leaders have rejected God. It's
11:35
Speaker 1: like everybody just they decided. They consciously knew what they
11:39
Speaker 1: were doing. Spiritual rebellion. Rebellion existed throughout every level of

Speaker 1: the society, Spiritual rebellion and rejecting God. Knowledge alone doesn't

Speaker 1: produce obedience. Many people know the truth, but the challenge

Speaker 1: is to live it out. Amen. Is not just knowing,

Speaker 1: but we got to live it out. We have to
12:14
Speaker 1: apply it. Hallelujah. We need God's grace to do this.

Speaker 1: Belove it. I hope this podcast of nothing else will

Speaker 1: show you how important it is to call up on

Speaker 1: the Lord daily and call up on His grace to

Speaker 1: enable us his power to live for him, Amen, verse

Speaker 1: six through eight. Therefore, a lion from the forest shall

Speaker 1: slay them, a wolf of the desert shall destroy them.

Speaker 1: A leopard will watch over their cities. Everyone who goes

Speaker 1: out from there shall be torn in pieces. Because there

Speaker 1: transgressions are many, their backslidings are increased. How shall I

Speaker 1: pardon you from this? Your children have forsaken me and

Speaker 1: sworn by those that are not God's. When I had

Speaker 1: fed them to the full, then they committed adultery and

Speaker 1: assembled themselves by troops in the harlot's house. They were

Speaker 1: like well fed, lusty stallions. Everyone made after his neighbor's wife. Wow.

Speaker 1: This shows the moral condition of the day right. God

Speaker 1: describes the people's spiritual and moral corruption. Their blessings did

Speaker 1: not produce our heart and gratitude. God blessed them left

Speaker 1: and right, and they were not gracious for it. Instead,

Speaker 1: their prosperity fueled their rebellion. How many of us can

Speaker 1: see this even in the United States today, because we

Speaker 1: have been a prosperous country for two hundred and fifty years.

Speaker 1: This is the birthday of the United States of America.

Speaker 1: We've been a country for two hundred and fifty years,
14:39
Speaker 1: and we think because we've been so prosperous and we've
14:42
Speaker 1: had so much wealth, ridiculous wealth in this country, that

Speaker 1: we don't need God. It's the reason why some people
14:51
Speaker 1: turn away from God. Our hearts can be so deceptive. Now,

Speaker 1: prosperity can either drive people towards gratitude or towards self sufficiency.

Speaker 1: There's only two effects. There's only two ways that you

Speaker 1: can go with prosperity. One of the greatest temptations, or

Speaker 1: should I say, one of the greatest dangers, isn't hardship.

Speaker 1: Sometimes it can be blessing without humility. I've seen a

Speaker 1: lot of people blessed. I've seen a lot of people balling,

Speaker 1: and they get puffed up with pride. Some people cannot

Speaker 1: handle wealth, especially when they forget that their blessing came
15:53
Speaker 1: from God. If we forget that, then pride will follow.

Speaker 1: Is almost inevitable. We always have to have a humble

Speaker 1: and a thankful heart. Shall I not punish him for

Speaker 1: these things, says the Lord? And shall I not avenge

Speaker 1: myself on each on such a nation as this go

Speaker 1: up on her walls and destroy, but do not make

Speaker 1: a complete end. Take away her branches, for they are
16:32
Speaker 1: not the Lord's Wow. So right here, judgment is coming.

Speaker 1: The mercy still remains. Now as we read this, are

Speaker 1: we praying for the United States? Look at the heart

Speaker 1: of God. I've heard it said that if God doesn't

Speaker 1: judge America, he will have to apologize to Solomon Gomorra.

Speaker 1: This should cause our nation to fall to its knees

Speaker 1: and repentance towards God. Now, God again promises that he

Speaker 1: will not completely destroy the people. Now, that's God's mercy

Speaker 1: right there. God will always have a remnant. God's faithfulness

Speaker 1: to preserve a remnant, even doing severe judgment is amazing. Amen.

Speaker 1: Even in discipline, God's mercy is still available. Are you

Speaker 1: being disciplined right now? By God called out for his mercy? Amen?

Speaker 1: His purpose was not annihilation. She could have done that easily,

Speaker 1: but he does not want to annihilate to people. God's

Speaker 1: purposes is always restoration. He always wants to lead us

Speaker 1: to a place of restoration. That's why the jail system,

Speaker 1: the justice system in this country should restore people. It's

Speaker 1: supposed to. That's God's heart. But that's a podcast for

Speaker 1: a whole another day. It's become a big business. They

Speaker 1: don't want to restore people and rehabilitate people. They want

Speaker 1: to hold them as long as possible, because they get

Speaker 1: paid for every person that they they house. Right, the

Speaker 1: state pays them. All right, let's keep going. Eleven through

Speaker 1: thirteen four. The house of Israel and the House of

Speaker 1: Judah have dwelt very treacherously with me, says the Lord.

Speaker 1: They have lied about the Lord and said it is

Speaker 1: not he. Neither will either evil come upon us, nor

Speaker 1: shall we see sword or famine? And the prophets become

Speaker 1: became win, for the Word is not in them, Thus

Speaker 1: shall it be done to them? Now? The people rejected

Speaker 1: God's word and mocked his prophets. Do we see this today?

Speaker 1: Do we see people mocking believers and mocking the Bible,

Speaker 1: and finding excuses to reject the very word of God?

Speaker 1: And they convinced themselves that judgment wasn't coming. They were

Speaker 1: becoming comfortable in their sin, and they thought that they

Speaker 1: would not face the consequences from it right now. False

Speaker 1: security often develops when people repeatedly ignore God's warnings. They're

Speaker 1: looking for a false security, something to say that it's Okay,

Speaker 1: if I live a life of sin before God, one

Speaker 1: of the most dangerous lies is nothing will happen. That's

Speaker 1: exactly what Judah believed. Right. They mistook God's patience for

Speaker 1: his approval, and that's a big mistake too. We can think, oh,

Speaker 1: because God hasn't judged me, God hasn't dealt with me,

Speaker 1: that maybe God approves of what I'm doing. But no,

Speaker 1: God is just trying to be faithful because he does

Speaker 1: not want to judge us. Amen thirteen through seventeen. Therefore,

Speaker 1: thus says the Lord, God of Hosts, because you speak

Speaker 1: this word, Behold, I will make my words in your

Speaker 1: mouth fire, and thus people would and it shall devour them. Behold,

Speaker 1: I will bring a nation against you from Afar, o

Speaker 1: house of Israel, says the Lord. It is a mighty nation.

Speaker 1: It is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you

Speaker 1: do not know, nor can you understand what they say.

Speaker 1: Their quiver is like an open tomb. There are all

Speaker 1: mighty men. And they shall eat up your harvest and

Speaker 1: your bread, which your sons and daughters should eat. They

Speaker 1: shall eat up your flocks in your herds, They shall

Speaker 1: destroy your fortified cities in which you trust with the sword. Wow,

Speaker 1: save them. God's word is powerful and his word is unstoppable.

Speaker 1: people trust us their careers, they trust their finances. They

Speaker 1: relationships more than they trust God. They put their trust
