Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Hi, Amber. Hi, Lola. Welcome to An Unlikely Affair. Good morning, everybody.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode of An Unlikely Affair. Good morning, Lola.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Good morning, gorgeous. I like your green pants and your
- 0:17Speaker 1: green Nikes and everything. You know, these were Easton's, and
- 0:22Speaker 1: then he dried them and they shrunk or something, so
- 0:25Speaker 1: he gave them to me. He was like, you don't
- 0:26Speaker 1: want these, right? They're kind of ugly. I was like, yes,
- 0:29Speaker 1: and I want them on my body. Yeah. I'll make
- 0:31Speaker 1: them look good. No, they're really cute. Thank you, babe.
- 0:34Speaker 1: How was your night? It was good. It was good.
- 0:38Speaker 2: We went and saw Jack Johnson at the Hollywood Bowl.
- 0:40Speaker 2: It's like my favorite, favorite, favorite place to be.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Making banana pancakes, pretend like it's the weekend. Oh my God,
- 0:50Speaker 1: you know that song? Who doesn't? That was like the
- 0:54Speaker 1: anthem of my high school days. Really? It was so nice.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Do you remember Colby Calais? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What
- 1:02Speaker 1: was that song? It's been a while now. Bubbly.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I can't think of the words. That and the other one. Yeah.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it was really interesting because I'm sure a lot
- 1:13Speaker 2: of people are going to be talking about it today.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Last night was his last night. Jack Johnson's last night. Yeah,
- 1:18Speaker 1: at the Bowl.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:19Speaker 2: And he has this song called Rain Something.
- 1:24Speaker 1: The whole night, the entire night, it did not rain.
- 1:26Speaker 1: As soon as he started singing that, it was like
- 1:29Speaker 1: the power of.
- 1:31Speaker 2: collectively when people get together I think there's something really
- 1:34Speaker 2: magical about that like there's like power with people coming
- 1:37Speaker 2: together in the spirit of like whether they're singing praying
- 1:42Speaker 2: meditating yeah and something happened it didn't rain the entire
- 1:47Speaker 2: night And then he sang that song and all of
- 1:49Speaker 2: a sudden, and he goes like, he turned on the
- 1:51Speaker 2: lights or the sound guys or the lighting people turn
- 1:54Speaker 2: on lights. And you looked back as I was sitting
- 1:57Speaker 2: down more orchestra, you turned around, it was just like
- 1:59Speaker 2: this beautiful rain as he was singing the song about rain.
- 2:02Speaker 2: It was fucking magical.
- 2:04Speaker 1: That sounds amazing. It was a very mellow concert.
- 2:08Speaker 2: It wasn't, I saw Foo Fighters there last month and
- 2:12Speaker 2: that was like a really fun like dancing.
- 2:14Speaker 1: And the song was just like, chill just sit and
- 2:16Speaker 1: listen to music yeah yeah it's jack johnson he's making
- 2:21Speaker 1: he's so handsome pancakes yeah he.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Is i'll make banana pancakes i think that's the only
- 2:28Speaker 2: song i know i don't know the titles of the
- 2:31Speaker 2: songs but he has such a great voice and his
- 2:33Speaker 2: story is so amazing and it's So damn cute.
- 2:37Speaker 1: And yeah, it was great. Good. I love that you
- 2:38Speaker 1: had a great night. I too had a great night. Yeah,
- 2:41Speaker 1: please share. Football? There's not much to say other than like,
- 2:45Speaker 1: what a fucking game. Ravens. The Ravens. Yes. Everyone knows that.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Everyone knows that.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Well, I mean, listen, I assume that like people are
- 2:54Speaker 2: just tuning in and listening for the first time. So
- 2:56Speaker 2: I want them to know how much of a Ravens
- 2:58Speaker 2: whore you are. I.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I'm obsessed. And people ask me, like, are you from Baltimore?
- 3:04Speaker 1: I'm like, I have no affiliation with Baltimore or Maryland.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I became obsessed with Ray Lewis when I was eight
- 3:12Speaker 1: years old, watching a football game with my dad. And
- 3:15Speaker 1: after that, I just have started bleeding black and purple.
- 3:19Speaker 1: It's just in my fucking... That's actually funny. I think
- 3:23Speaker 1: I need to be evaluated by how much the games
- 3:26Speaker 1: affect me. I wanted to put on my helmet last night,
- 3:29Speaker 1: but I was like... You should have. You know, our QB,
- 3:32Speaker 1: who is our little second stringer, because our Lamar Jackson
- 3:37Speaker 1: is hurt. I was like, will I jinx him? Because
- 3:40Speaker 1: he was having a hard time finding his footing. I
- 3:43Speaker 1: was like... fuck this quarterback. And then he did something great.
- 3:47Speaker 1: And I was like, I love this fucking quarterback, but
- 3:50Speaker 1: I'm not a fickle fan. I promise.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I rock until the day I die. I couldn't even sleep.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Could not sleep. You were that excited. It was just like, yes,
- 3:59Speaker 1: I love the Ravens, but just as a Sunday night
- 4:01Speaker 1: football game, that's all you really want when you're watching
- 4:04Speaker 1: a game is like a good game. It was great.
- 4:08Speaker 1: A little slow at first, but excellent. Anyway, we can
- 4:12Speaker 1: move on. No one's tuning into this podcast to hear
- 4:15Speaker 1: about me talking about sports. That's for damn sure. This
- 4:17Speaker 1: was really interesting.
- 4:18Speaker 2: I'm not like a huge baseball fan, like at all.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Except until it gets to the very end and then
- 4:23Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, I'll watch it. Um, but I'll be
- 4:26Speaker 2: doodling on my phone or something.
- 4:28Speaker 1: The people next to us last night, the entire time
- 4:31Speaker 1: had on the Dodger game. I was like, guys, come
- 4:34Speaker 1: on now. Like, it was like irritating to hear that. Oh,
- 4:37Speaker 1: they had the sound on. Yes. That's rude. Yes. I
- 4:40Speaker 1: was like, if it was a basketball game, I would
- 4:42Speaker 1: have been like, okay, it's all good. But I was like,
- 4:45Speaker 1: I don't really want to hear the, I don't know.
- 4:47Speaker 1: It's just an annoying sound to me. Pick your lane.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Are we listening to Jack Johnson or are we watching
- 4:51Speaker 1: the baseball game? You can't do both.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Unless it's sound off. Well, I'm sure during the concert,
- 4:56Speaker 1: but it was just a weird, a weird situation. I
- 5:00Speaker 1: don't know why I brought that up. It's like the
- 5:02Speaker 1: old ladies that put their phone on speaker throughout the
- 5:04Speaker 1: grocery store. You're like, can you, which is my mother now.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I actually do that. I'm like, take them off speaker.
- 5:10Speaker 1: No one wants to hear your conversation. I actually love
- 5:12Speaker 1: a good FaceTime while I'm grocery shopping. It makes it
- 5:14Speaker 1: less painful. I hate grocery shopping. I can't even remember
- 5:18Speaker 1: the last time I went to a grocery store. I'm
- 5:20Speaker 1: an Instacarter.
- 5:21Speaker 2: The last time we went to a grocery store, we
- 5:23Speaker 2: went to go buy balloons for Ocean's birthday.
- 5:25Speaker 1: No, Sosa's. Oh, I do go to a grocery store
- 5:27Speaker 1: to buy balloons. That's about the extent of it. The
- 5:30Speaker 1: produce section, not my jam. You looked very lost. I
- 5:33Speaker 1: am lost in a grocery store.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Well, that is why they have aisles with numbers, and
- 5:37Speaker 2: then they say what each aisle has.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but then when you're coming in the other direction,
- 5:41Speaker 1: it's a different set of numbers. Oh, it is? Yes.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Trust me, I get very confused at a grocery store. Oh,
- 5:48Speaker 1: that's so funny. We should create an app where it's
- 5:50Speaker 1: a map of your local grocery store that you can
- 5:52Speaker 1: look at as you shop. You know?
- 5:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Type in what you need. Anyway, today we're doing a
- 5:59Speaker 1: Q & A, which makes me really excited because I
- 6:01Speaker 1: love the questions. And I just like having audience participation. Yeah,
- 6:05Speaker 1: it's great. The first question is, Amber, are you still
- 6:08Speaker 1: pursuing Judaism? Yes, I am. I actually just met with
- 6:14Speaker 1: Rabbi Yoshi, who.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Oddly enough, is marrying our producer, Kendall. I mean, we just,
- 6:22Speaker 1: isn't that a great connection?
- 6:23Speaker 2: So yeah, I had a meeting with him last week, actually.
- 6:27Speaker 1: What's the next step? Like, how do you go through
- 6:30Speaker 1: the conversion process? That's a great question. I have to
- 6:35Speaker 1: write a personal statement, which is like... Like an essay.
- 6:41Speaker 1: He's like, you can make it five pages. I'm like,
- 6:43Speaker 1: how about a page and a half? Five pages? I'm like,
- 6:45Speaker 1: I think I can make everything, say everything I want
- 6:47Speaker 1: to in like a page and a half. But what is,
- 6:50Speaker 1: what is the essay?
- 6:50Speaker 2: It's basically what draws you to Judaism. What draws, like,
- 6:52Speaker 2: why do you want to, you know, convert? Just kind
- 6:56Speaker 2: of like all your reasons. And like, for me, I'm
- 6:59Speaker 2: going to go all the way back to when I
- 7:02Speaker 2: was baptized Mormon and really being in this bubble of
- 7:07Speaker 2: of Mormonism and then taking it to like when I
- 7:10Speaker 2: moved to New York and I really got exposed to
- 7:13Speaker 2: I mean in New York there's every walk of life
- 7:16Speaker 2: but like Hasidic Orthodox Jews that I would see on
- 7:21Speaker 2: like Sunday or Monday going to Central Park and I'm
- 7:23Speaker 2: like oh my god there's other people besides like Mormon
- 7:27Speaker 2: people like you know what I mean you get stuck
- 7:28Speaker 2: in such a bubble totally and it really opened my
- 7:31Speaker 2: eyes and then um yeah and then and then I
- 7:34Speaker 2: went to the Catholic Church for a little bit and
- 7:37Speaker 2: um And then when I met our ex, that was
- 7:39Speaker 2: like a non-negotiable forum. And at that point, I didn't
- 7:43Speaker 2: have a religion that I was following or practicing. So
- 7:46Speaker 2: I started exploring just more spirituality. Like my ancestors are
- 7:52Speaker 2: partly Native American. So I was really into like Mother
- 7:55Speaker 2: Earth and how they practice.
- 7:58Speaker 1: And then just being involved with the kids at their
- 8:03Speaker 1: Jewish day school here. it kind of just like grew
- 8:06Speaker 1: on me. And I was like, Oh, this is actually
- 8:07Speaker 1: a great religion and community. And it spoke to you.
- 8:11Speaker 1: It resonated. I think that that's very important when you
- 8:14Speaker 1: are going into, I guess, a spiritual awakening and you're
- 8:18Speaker 1: looking for something greater than you. Um, you have to
- 8:24Speaker 1: feel that pull. Like anytime I went to the Mormon church,
- 8:28Speaker 1: I felt absolutely nothing. Yeah. I know that sounds really terrible.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I'm happy that everyone else in the room was feeling something. Yeah,
- 8:36Speaker 1: it's like a relationship. You feel nothing or something. Yeah,
- 8:40Speaker 1: like I don't feel... There's no pull. I'm not getting chills.
- 8:43Speaker 1: And then there have been times where I was raised spiritual,
- 8:47Speaker 1: but we would go to a non-denominational church. And I
- 8:49Speaker 1: just remember going, even as a young kid, and just
- 8:53Speaker 1: getting goosebumps and feeling like, all right, this is my
- 8:57Speaker 1: higher power. This is where I'm supposed to be. And
- 8:59Speaker 1: I don't think that there's anything... wrong with, if you
- 9:03Speaker 1: want to be Mormon, Jewish, Catholic, it's for you. It's
- 9:07Speaker 1: not for anybody else.
- 9:08Speaker 2: You know, something that really also I love is how
- 9:11Speaker 2: inclusive reform Judaism is. I mean, they don't discriminate at all.
- 9:18Speaker 2: And I freaking love that because we need more people
- 9:21Speaker 2: in the world. It doesn't matter what you are. If you,
- 9:24Speaker 2: as long as you're not an asshole and you're not
- 9:27Speaker 2: bombing airports and killing people, like, They don't care what background,
- 9:34Speaker 2: if you're into men, women, like it's so inclusive.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Totally. And I yet have.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Found a religion that's really spoke to me in that way.
- 9:42Speaker 1: That's really, really important to me. I love this. Yeah.
- 9:46Speaker 1: I will say, even though non-denominational is technically Christian, I
- 9:53Speaker 1: don't know a lick of the Bible. I'm just going
- 9:56Speaker 1: to like put that out there. Just going to put
- 9:59Speaker 1: that out there.
- 10:00Speaker 2: There.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Really?
- 10:01Speaker 3: No.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, I couldn't recite any verses in the Bible.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I have a Bible in my room that was my
- 10:07Speaker 1: grandmother's and I'm like, all right, love it. Excellent. But like,
- 10:13Speaker 1: I've just always been of the belief of like, Like
- 10:16Speaker 1: I should read it just for educational purposes. I should
- 10:18Speaker 1: know what's in there. Just like I should know, you know, Judaism.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I should know other religions and why they celebrate certain things.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Like it's just educational purposes. Yeah, of course. But for me,
- 10:31Speaker 1: I'm like, when it comes to like the religious aspects...
- 10:36Speaker 1: I don't really need a book to tell me how
- 10:39Speaker 1: to go about my day and be a good human.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I think I got that. You know. Yeah. Amber, is
- 10:45Speaker 1: co-parenting easier now that your kids are older? It seems
- 10:47Speaker 1: like you find it easier than Lala. Oh, how wrong
- 10:51Speaker 1: they are. It's not easy, you guys. It truly... Depends
- 10:57Speaker 1: on the day. It's a struggle for me. We will
- 11:00Speaker 1: never be on the same page.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:02Speaker 1: We will never, ever... Be on the same page.
- 11:05Speaker 2: And even if it's for one second we are, for
- 11:10Speaker 2: a day we are, the next minute it gets reversed.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Because everyone seems to have fucking amnesia. And so that's
- 11:18Speaker 2: my PC answer. He said, should we have a baby?
- 11:22Speaker 1: What? And I said, I looked at him, I said,
- 11:25Speaker 1: no joke. I said, fuck no.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Because I don't want to co-parent with anyone else. I
- 11:30Speaker 2: would never want to co-parent with anyone else. And yes,
- 11:35Speaker 2: I need a lot of therapy, but I can't co-parent
- 11:38Speaker 2: with anyone else. I really can't because my idea is
- 11:41Speaker 2: that it just doesn't work.
- 11:43Speaker 1: My love, you are so felt and seen. I got
- 11:46Speaker 1: a donor baby.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Because I was like, I refuse.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:49Speaker 1: However, you guys, I have had this dream two nights
- 11:52Speaker 1: in a row. So I have said like I'm back
- 11:54Speaker 1: and forth on a third baby. And when I say
- 11:56Speaker 1: back and forth, like I'm not saying I would want
- 11:58Speaker 1: to do it now, but like down the road, I
- 12:00Speaker 1: just turned 36. There is room to bring in a
- 12:03Speaker 1: third child. Yeah. So I had this dream probably a
- 12:06Speaker 1: couple months ago where the baby is born and I
- 12:09Speaker 1: look at my mom and I'm like, I don't want it.
- 12:12Speaker 1: And she's like, I don't really know what to tell you.
- 12:16Speaker 1: You just had this baby. I was like, I don't
- 12:18Speaker 1: want it. This next dream I had like two, three
- 12:23Speaker 1: nights ago where I get my best friend's brother as
- 12:29Speaker 1: the sperm donor. I don't know why you guys, this
- 12:32Speaker 1: is just my dream. I have no control over it.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I get my best friend's brother. I have the baby.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I tell my mom, I don't want this baby. And
- 12:40Speaker 1: she's like, Lauren, you wanted a third baby. This is
- 12:43Speaker 1: your baby. I was like, it's not my baby. I
- 12:45Speaker 1: was like, you need to give it to someone else.
- 12:47Speaker 1: She's like, who do you want me to give it to?
- 12:48Speaker 1: I was like, give it to Candace. She goes, Candace
- 12:50Speaker 1: just had a baby. She's got like one month old.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I was like, I know, but this is basically her family. Just,
- 12:57Speaker 1: I don't want it. Get rid of it. So I
- 12:59Speaker 1: don't think it's time for a third baby. Here's your sign. Yeah,
- 13:04Speaker 1: I like panic. I mean, yeah, maybe that's, that's really,
- 13:08Speaker 1: I love dreams. I will analyze the fuck out of
- 13:12Speaker 1: a dream. Yeah. Well, I think that was a little clearer. No,
- 13:16Speaker 1: but my dreams speak to me more times than not.
- 13:18Speaker 1: When I have a dream that's a little fucked up,
- 13:21Speaker 1: it's God is trying to send me a message. It
- 13:24Speaker 1: may not be exactly the reasoning. Like I had an
- 13:29Speaker 1: ex who I had a dream about sleeping with someone
- 13:35Speaker 1: else and I walked in on them and I woke
- 13:37Speaker 1: up in the middle of the night. He wasn't in bed.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I go into his room and I find a bag
- 13:41Speaker 1: of cocaine next to his bed. So I'm sure he
- 13:46Speaker 1: was fucking other people, but I was like, okay, like
- 13:48Speaker 1: he was clearly out doing what he wasn't supposed to
- 13:50Speaker 1: be doing. And God was letting me know.
- 13:53Speaker 2: I think that dream means that you'll have a baby
- 13:58Speaker 2: with someone.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Because they were both donor babies in my.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the next person that you meet, your guy,
- 14:07Speaker 2: you'll have a baby with him.
- 14:08Speaker 1: I will say, though, can I just say really quickly
- 14:10Speaker 1: on that note, though? Sosa is.
- 14:14Speaker 1: The best decision that I ever made in my life.
- 14:17Speaker 1: I am so obsessed with this human. I cannot even
- 14:21Speaker 1: stand it.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I know. It makes me really emotional because yesterday when
- 14:25Speaker 2: we were in the car, you and I were having
- 14:26Speaker 2: a serious talk-ish. And I could tell that she was
- 14:29Speaker 2: like feeling the energy. And like you hugged me for
- 14:32Speaker 2: like 30 seconds before we got out of the car.
- 14:34Speaker 1: And then she goes, I love you, Amber. And I literally,
- 14:38Speaker 1: all my worries, all my whatever I was feeling in
- 14:41Speaker 1: the moment, it just all goes away. She's like, Like
- 14:44Speaker 1: a ray of light. She is. And everything that comes
- 14:47Speaker 1: out of her mouth is so sing-song. Oh my gosh.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Look at his mama. It's like singing you a song.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I know. She's so cute. Anyway, okay, next. Next question.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Need Lala's nighttime and morning routine, especially skincare? I know
- 15:03Speaker 2: your skin looks so good right now.
- 15:06Speaker 1: It does? That is so kind. I'm having a stroke.
- 15:13Speaker 1: It's so good. It's beautiful. That's how I feel about
- 15:17Speaker 1: your skin. Oh, God. Every day I look at your skin,
- 15:20Speaker 1: I'm like, this bitch and her fabulous skin and her
- 15:22Speaker 1: fucking jawline. But if you've got really close. Her eyes
- 15:24Speaker 1: that you want to melt in. What? Sorry. Too far?
- 15:29Speaker 1: Never too far. No. Okay. Let's hear your skin routine
- 15:33Speaker 1: because I'm not going to go about how. You guys,
- 15:35Speaker 1: my skincare routine always changes. I'm like really obsessed with oils.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I love Retin-A. If you go to Mexico, go to
- 15:45Speaker 1: the fucking airport. What's that thing called? Pharmacia. Pharmacia. And
- 15:51Speaker 1: get Retin-A. I swear by it. It is the best.
- 15:56Speaker 1: You can also get a prescription here. I think it's
- 15:57Speaker 1: called like tretinoin or something like that. Is that right?
- 16:00Speaker 1: That's what I'm taking on. Yeah, it's amazing. But I
- 16:04Speaker 1: love Metacubes. Those PDRN. Is that what it is? The
- 16:10Speaker 1: pink masks. I love those. But I'm just like an
- 16:13Speaker 1: oil person.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I know.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Like I love castor oil. That's usually what I go
- 16:17Speaker 1: to bed in. Do you really?
- 16:18Speaker 2: Okay. So I, this is a trick that I just
- 16:21Speaker 2: saw on Instagram. It's a really, it was talking to my,
- 16:23Speaker 2: the girl who did my makeup for the party on Saturday.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 1: She turned me on to a new skincare brand.
- 16:30Speaker 2: And she's like, this is the best skincare brand I
- 16:33Speaker 2: have ever tried in my life. And for someone that's
- 16:35Speaker 2: been in the business for that many years and has
- 16:38Speaker 2: tried literally every brand from Lumiere, Sensor, everything, um, So
- 16:43Speaker 2: I was doing a deep dive into that brand and
- 16:44Speaker 2: she said, you have to put on your moisturizer when
- 16:47Speaker 2: your skin is still wet.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yes. And I did it this.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Morning and I felt like my face looked better than
- 16:54Speaker 2: just drying my face after the shower.
- 16:56Speaker 1: And then applying the moisturizer. I did it when my
- 16:59Speaker 1: skin was still damp and I just felt and I
- 17:02Speaker 1: saw it looked a little different. Okay. Can I tell
- 17:05Speaker 1: you what scares me about that though is I take
- 17:07Speaker 1: really warm showers and so once you bathe like that
- 17:11Speaker 1: with hot water... Then your pores are open, and if
- 17:14Speaker 1: I put moisturizer on top of that, then it's going
- 17:18Speaker 1: to get moisturizer inside my pores and then clog them.
- 17:22Speaker 1: But you want an oil-free, though. Oh, see? Well, I
- 17:25Speaker 1: love oil, so that wouldn't work for me. I love
- 17:28Speaker 1: an oil. I will literally, at night, do... My spray
- 17:34Speaker 1: by Alba, A-L-B-A, I think is what it's called. And
- 17:38Speaker 1: it's a toner, but it has oil inside. You shake it.
- 17:41Speaker 1: So it tones, but also gives you the moisture. I'll
- 17:44Speaker 1: do that. Let it dry. Then I'll put on my oil.
- 17:47Speaker 1: And then right before bed, I'll put on like literally
- 17:51Speaker 1: the easiest moisturizer that I couldn't even tell you what
- 17:54Speaker 1: it's called because it's a Korean brand, but I can post.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I love going into that Korean skincare place.
- 18:00Speaker 2: I know.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I think I'm going to go today. There's nothing like
- 18:03Speaker 1: a rainy day at the mall. Oh, the best. And
- 18:05Speaker 1: it's chilly outside.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Yeah. But guys, let me tell you something. I've slept
- 18:09Speaker 1: next to you. Yeah. Many times. You are. Lucky you.
- 18:13Speaker 1: You are super greasy when you go to bed. Very. Yeah.
- 18:16Speaker 1: That's how I'm going to know I found my guy
- 18:18Speaker 1: is when I can just look super sexy and just
- 18:21Speaker 1: like ride it like a fucking stallion. Then get off,
- 18:25Speaker 1: take out my clip ins, go in the bathroom, put
- 18:27Speaker 1: all my oils on and him be like, things change quickly.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Cackle about it and then cuddle and watch friends. You're
- 18:34Speaker 1: going to find that by the way. I am going
- 18:35Speaker 1: to find that. That is, you're not asking for a lot.
- 18:38Speaker 1: You're not asking for a lot. I ask for the
- 18:39Speaker 1: fucking bare minimum, by the way. Yeah. Yes, I know.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I get my boobs done and you don't send flowers.
- 18:45Speaker 1: That's okay. Do we need to talk about this? In
- 18:50Speaker 1: a therapy session, I probably should. Oh, I know who
- 18:52Speaker 1: you're talking about. Yeah, yeah, me too. By the way,
- 18:54Speaker 1: let's talk about Lisa just for one second.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Your mom is like really making amazing progress. She has
- 19:02Speaker 2: said over the weekend some of the funniest shit.
- 19:06Speaker 1: And I'm like, I love it. Your mom is so
- 19:09Speaker 1: dope when she's like in her like rhythm. She gets it.
- 19:13Speaker 1: You get it from her. I see it now. She
- 19:15Speaker 1: is so effortlessly funny. Yeah. Yeah. I dig her so much.
- 19:21Speaker 1: What do y'all eat to look so good? Be honest.
- 19:24Speaker 1: That's very nice. I had a stone this morning. Yesterday
- 19:27Speaker 1: we were pigging out. Yesterday was a cheesy lady. A
- 19:31Speaker 1: lot of cheese.
- 19:32Speaker 2: We had a lot of cheese. Those macaroni and cheese
- 19:35Speaker 2: balls from Trader Joe's that you like. Yeah, the fried ones. Yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 2: the fried ones. There was a turkey hot dog. I
- 19:42Speaker 2: wanted to leave those for the kids. I didn't want
- 19:44Speaker 2: to be selfish.
- 19:47Speaker 1: It looked really good, though. Why do you have one? Because.
- 19:50Speaker 1: those were for the kids. No, they're for everybody. And honestly,
- 19:52Speaker 1: the cheese, I was like, wow, I got really, I
- 19:54Speaker 1: was hungry. We ate a lot of cheese. We ate
- 19:57Speaker 1: a lot. But you know what I think it is?
- 19:59Speaker 1: Let's talk about the protein, though, because that's really important.
- 20:01Speaker 1: That is important, but can I tell you? I think
- 20:03Speaker 1: everything in moderation, from what I think. Besides my vape,
- 20:07Speaker 1: everything's in moderation. And my Perrier. Perrier and vape and coffee.
- 20:10Speaker 1: And your codependency. And my codependency. Those were full steam ahead.
- 20:13Speaker 1: But the protein we were working out with, can I
- 20:19Speaker 1: call him our trainer now or should I still call
- 20:21Speaker 1: him yours? Yes. I just, it's funny because people say like.
- 20:25Speaker 1: People in LA get very territorial over their trainers. No,
- 20:29Speaker 1: baby girl. What's mine is yours and yours is mine.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I love that answer. Yeah. So go ahead. Our trainer.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Our trainer was talking to us because Amber and I
- 20:37Speaker 1: have said like what we want our bodies to look like.
- 20:41Speaker 1: And he was like, you guys have to get at
- 20:44Speaker 1: least a hundred grams of protein every single day. And
- 20:48Speaker 1: I was like, so like a piece of chicken. And
- 20:49Speaker 1: he like cackled at me. He's like a piece of chicken.
- 20:54Speaker 1: That's like maybe 30 to 40 grams. I was like
- 20:58Speaker 1: one piece of chicken. I'm not even halfway to my
- 21:00Speaker 1: 100 goal. Like women, it is so important for us
- 21:04Speaker 1: to get our protein, especially if you do work out.
- 21:07Speaker 1: He was saying that your muscles tear and the only
- 21:09Speaker 1: way for them to properly repair themselves is if you
- 21:12Speaker 1: have the amount of protein for your weight.
- 21:15Speaker 2: The amino acids is what builds your muscles back up
- 21:18Speaker 2: to be stronger.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Like, yeah, you tear them and then they come back together.
- 21:21Speaker 1: That's what's so hard. I don't love meat. I love bread.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I love cheese. I could live on bread and cheese.
- 21:28Speaker 1: I think.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Protein makes me really full fast. Like, if I have
- 21:32Speaker 2: two hard-boiled eggs in the morning, I'm, like, want to, like... I'm, like,
- 21:36Speaker 2: trying to get through the, like, last one.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I'm not that bad. When I think about protein, I'm, like,
- 21:40Speaker 1: if I had a steak or a piece of chicken... Yuck.
- 21:45Speaker 1: But by the way, you... Who orders just like a
- 21:47Speaker 1: piece of chicken? Are you joking?
- 21:49Speaker 2: But vegans, if you're vegan, they have to get protein
- 21:52Speaker 2: and you can get protein through other ways.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Rice and beans, but you have to pair them together. Rice, beans.
- 21:57Speaker 1: You have to have your carbohydrate with the beans. And
- 21:58Speaker 1: then what else? There's like chickpeas.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Ugh.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Sounds awful. Cottage cheese. You love cottage cheese. I could
- 22:06Speaker 1: sit down and eat a whole thing of cottage cheese.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I'm repulsive. I'm so gross. I'm disgusting. Do you know
- 22:12Speaker 1: what I did?
- 22:12Speaker 2: I was having a morning... Two mornings ago, I got
- 22:16Speaker 2: my coffee. I got a what's the cinnamon toast crunch.
- 22:20Speaker 2: And I went and ate cereal in the bathtub.
- 22:23Speaker 1: I'm like, who am I? That's so gross. That is
- 22:25Speaker 1: not gross. And then when you. That's hot. Me sitting
- 22:28Speaker 1: in a hot bath with coffee and cream cottage cheese.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Now that's disgusting. And I would do that because I'm
- 22:36Speaker 1: OK with who I am. I've done licorice and coffee.
- 22:40Speaker 1: All your stuff is hot. Really? Licorice and coffee in
- 22:43Speaker 1: the bathtub. Ooh. Watch me pull it and bite it
- 22:49Speaker 1: and tongue it. That's like an ad. That's like a
- 22:52Speaker 1: fucking Carl's Jr. ad.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Well.
- 22:55Speaker 1: The thing I love about cottage cheese is you can
- 22:57Speaker 1: have it sweet, like with a little bit of honey,
- 22:58Speaker 1: maybe some melon. Oh, yeah. Or pineapple. Or pineapple. Come
- 23:03Speaker 1: on now. Or some salt. Olive oil. I don't fuck
- 23:07Speaker 1: with that. Oh, okay. But you can. I'm envisioning it
- 23:11Speaker 1: at the deli. And a little bit of like tomato
- 23:16Speaker 1: with a side of avocado. Oh, see, I don't love that.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I don't love that. I would rather do like a
- 23:22Speaker 1: really good olive oil with like salt and a little pepper. Okay.
- 23:25Speaker 1: I don't know. I'll let you. Do y'all cook? What
- 23:37Speaker 1: are your favorite foods? If you could eat one meal
- 23:39Speaker 1: for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- 23:41Speaker 1: I'll tell you what mine would be. Tacos. I'm with you.
- 23:45Speaker 1: This is where I get really disgusting. So I've stopped
- 23:48Speaker 1: eating gyros throughout my childhood were my most favorite thing,
- 23:52Speaker 1: but because it's lamb, I just, I cannot do it.
- 23:55Speaker 1: But since this is a safe space, if I could
- 23:58Speaker 1: eat one thing for the rest of my life, it
- 24:00Speaker 1: would be a gyro. I don't know what a gyro is.
- 24:03Speaker 1: It's a pita with, Thinly sliced meat in it. Okay.
- 24:09Speaker 1: And then you can get red or the white sauce,
- 24:11Speaker 1: which I like the white. It's like a tzatziki. You
- 24:13Speaker 1: can have onions in it. Tomato. It is... Where do
- 24:17Speaker 1: you get it? It's not Mexican. It's Greek food. Oh, Greek. Okay.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I love Mediterranean. Mediterranean would be my go-to. Really? Or
- 24:24Speaker 1: I fuck with a carne asada street taco every day
- 24:26Speaker 1: of the week. Mmm. With a churro, obviously. Mexican food
- 24:30Speaker 1: is my... Oh, my God. Oh, see, that doesn't do
- 24:33Speaker 1: it for me. That does it for me. My mouth
- 24:36Speaker 1: is watering, but I'm not going to do it. Lot,
- 24:40Speaker 1: how do you keep your professional drive going without burning out?
- 24:43Speaker 1: Mary gets to keep her lamb today. Oh, my goodness.
- 24:50Speaker 1: I'm going to roll today, sister. What was the question?
- 24:55Speaker 1: We have a comedian in the studio. I make mom jokes.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Those are the best jokes.
- 25:01Speaker 2: How do you keep your professional drive without burning out?
- 25:05Speaker 2: I crash out on a regular basis.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Are you joking? What day? Ends in Y. What day
- 25:12Speaker 1: ends in Y?
- 25:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Seven days a week I'm in crash out mode. And
- 25:17Speaker 1: I will work my ass off and then I'll lay
- 25:18Speaker 1: in bed and I'll be like, today was a great day.
- 25:21Speaker 1: And then there's like a little devil that's like, you're
- 25:23Speaker 1: a piece of shit. You did nothing today. Nothing you
- 25:26Speaker 1: do matters. And I'm like, oh my God. I'm exhausted
- 25:29Speaker 1: by all of it.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:30Speaker 1: It's a lot. It is. And because... And you're this
- 25:34Speaker 1: way too. I'm goal oriented. So the moment I accomplish something,
- 25:39Speaker 1: if someone points it out, I'm like, right, but it's
- 25:41Speaker 1: been accomplished. That means it's over there now. We can't
- 25:43Speaker 1: talk about it anymore. That's my problem.
- 25:45Speaker 2: So many people say to me, like, do you ever
- 25:47Speaker 2: stop and think about what you've accomplished thus far in
- 25:49Speaker 2: your life?
- 25:49Speaker 1: And I'm like, no, because it's in the past. It's
- 25:51Speaker 1: been accomplished.
- 25:52Speaker 2: It's been wiped out almost. Like, let's keep moving forward.
- 25:55Speaker 2: And that's, I, we need to work on that.
- 25:58Speaker 1: That's hard. Sometimes I have to say it out loud.
- 26:02Speaker 1: to remind myself, like when I start like bossing up
- 26:05Speaker 1: and I start getting kind of angst about life.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I'm like, motherfuckers, you will respect me. Do you know
- 26:12Speaker 1: what I've done? And then I like feel myself, but I,
- 26:17Speaker 1: everyone gets burned out. It doesn't matter who you are.
- 26:19Speaker 1: It doesn't matter if you're going and like had a
- 26:22Speaker 1: job like my mom, where it was three days a week,
- 26:25Speaker 1: making appointments at a dental office. It's like, it's exhausting.
- 26:27Speaker 1: It's exhausting. Human interaction is exhausting. Being in front of
- 26:33Speaker 1: a computer is exhausting. I think we need to start
- 26:37Speaker 1: embracing the crash outs. I sound so Gen Z.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 26:40Speaker 1: You know who said this?
- 26:41Speaker 2: I think it was Ari Emanuel said this on a podcast.
- 26:43Speaker 2: I was listening to him and he said it's really,
- 26:45Speaker 2: and he learned this from Jeff Bezos. He said it's
- 26:48Speaker 2: really important to get off of the field. Meaning when
- 26:51Speaker 2: you're on the field, you're working really fucking hard. You're
- 26:53Speaker 2: doing the work. You're grinding. You're playing the game. sometimes
- 26:58Speaker 2: you got to go get off the field and recharge
- 27:00Speaker 2: and come back on.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Yeah. And it's so true. And I need, I need
- 27:05Speaker 1: a vacation. I feel it.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Like I need to just step out for like even
- 27:09Speaker 2: four days. Like I'm quick to recharge because when I'm
- 27:12Speaker 2: on vacation, I'm not thinking about everything else. Like my,
- 27:16Speaker 2: I feel like no matter what, when I step into
- 27:18Speaker 2: my house, because we are entrepreneurs, the work never stops.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Right.
- 27:23Speaker 2: So that's, it's, it's hard for me to shut it off.
- 27:25Speaker 2: And I learned from our ex, I watched him, like
- 27:30Speaker 2: he never stopped working. He was always, it didn't matter.
- 27:34Speaker 1: What time it was.
- 27:35Speaker 2: And I think I picked up some bad habits to
- 27:38Speaker 2: like actually shut my phone off, put in the other
- 27:41Speaker 2: room going, okay, I'm just, cause I can't watch a
- 27:43Speaker 2: TV show without doing work in between or thinking about
- 27:47Speaker 2: something I need to buy for the house or do
- 27:48Speaker 2: for the kids.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Like I have to learn to turn it off. Yeah,
- 27:51Speaker 1: I'm the same way. And I feel like most people
- 27:54Speaker 1: relate to that. Yeah. Because we're in a world now
- 27:57Speaker 1: where we're exposed to a lot. So we're always wanting more.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Nothing we do is good enough. We're comparing ourselves to
- 28:03Speaker 1: that person. Or like, it's just like being on a
- 28:08Speaker 1: ride that you so desperately want to get off of.
- 28:11Speaker 1: And then the moment you do, then you beat yourself
- 28:13Speaker 1: up and feel guilty. And I also feel like living...
- 28:17Speaker 1: this is like the American way of thinking of like,
- 28:20Speaker 1: I'll sleep when I'm dead. Right. Hustle, grind. I'm like,
- 28:24Speaker 1: I don't want to grind anymore. I need a fucking nap.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I'm exhausted. But that's when the crash out happens.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, you had one a couple of weeks ago. It's,
- 28:34Speaker 2: you got to take a day or two just to like, Relax,
- 28:37Speaker 2: but it's hard. So when people say to me on Friday, like, oh,
- 28:39Speaker 2: we'll pick this up on Monday. I'm like, well, what
- 28:40Speaker 2: are you doing the next two days? Are we not
- 28:42Speaker 2: picking it up tomorrow?
- 28:43Speaker 1: Right, that's two good days. But I'm like, oh, you
- 28:44Speaker 1: have a family. You have children. Like, you gotta, you
- 28:48Speaker 1: have a healthy relationship with work. Right. By the way, though,
- 28:52Speaker 1: this weekend, I woke up this morning and I was like, wow,
- 28:55Speaker 1: I was so present this weekend. I didn't think about
- 28:57Speaker 1: anything I needed to do. So much so that I
- 28:59Speaker 1: missed my six-month follow-up for my boobs. Oh, you did? Yeah. Like,
- 29:04Speaker 1: I was a little... I was a little too at peace.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I was like, we're just floating. We're off. We're having
- 29:09Speaker 1: a good time.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Well, that's easy to miss. Not really, Amber. I need
- 29:14Speaker 1: to make sure that my tits are settled in. Your
- 29:16Speaker 1: tits are fine.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Okay.
- 29:18Speaker 1: You say so. If anxiety wasn't a factor, is there
- 29:22Speaker 1: anything you would choose to do differently? I don't know
- 29:25Speaker 1: what it's like not to have anxiety. So I don't know.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I would feel more comfortable taking up more space. Really? Mm-hmm.
- 29:33Speaker 1: In what capacity? Okay. Sometimes I feel like, and these
- 29:39Speaker 1: are always just pockets. Like for the most part, I'm
- 29:41Speaker 1: a squeaky wheel and I can verbally waterboard you. But
- 29:47Speaker 1: there are times where I start getting in my head
- 29:49Speaker 1: and I'm like, no, no, no. Like close off, shut down.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Like they may not be interested. And this is strictly
- 29:56Speaker 1: in a work capacity, but I want to feel more
- 30:00Speaker 1: comfortable being a large presence. I love that.
- 30:05Speaker 3: You know?
- 30:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Because you would think doing what I do for work,
- 30:10Speaker 1: it's like, oh, she's comfortable. I don't like things. I
- 30:14Speaker 1: don't really like things being about me. Like when I'm
- 30:17Speaker 1: in a group setting, if the focus shifts, now you're
- 30:21Speaker 1: someone I'm very comfortable with, right? So I tell you
- 30:24Speaker 1: anything and everything. Doing this podcast, I feel like I'm
- 30:27Speaker 1: just having conversations with like, My brother or my mom,
- 30:30Speaker 1: when I'm out in the world, if someone inquires about
- 30:33Speaker 1: how I'm doing, what I've been up to, I shut down.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I'm like, no, no, no, no, no. I don't want
- 30:38Speaker 1: it to be about me. I want to have the
- 30:40Speaker 1: focus elsewhere. Okay. You know? Yeah. I don't want to
- 30:44Speaker 1: bore you with like what's happening in my life. Take
- 30:48Speaker 1: up space.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Yes.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Well, the woman who we had on here who was
- 30:51Speaker 1: doing the stars. Yes.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 30:53Speaker 1: She was like, you, your south node is working its
- 30:57Speaker 1: way to the north. And in this time, you need
- 31:01Speaker 1: to feel more comfortable taking up space. That's right. Oh,
- 31:04Speaker 1: my gosh. I need to re-listen to that episode. She
- 31:06Speaker 1: was a fucking genius. Because I talked to her about
- 31:09Speaker 1: confidence and she goes, no, no, no. You have confidence.
- 31:11Speaker 1: What you need to work on is the worth part.
- 31:13Speaker 1: And I was like, that blew my mind. Oh, my gosh. Right?
- 31:17Speaker 1: She was great. Next one. Amber, what is your kid's
- 31:21Speaker 1: relationship with Lala like? Oh, it's so cute. It is cute.
- 31:27Speaker 1: It is cute. My kids really trust you. Well, I
- 31:31Speaker 1: don't know about that entirely. I think Riley's a different
- 31:34Speaker 1: story because Riley was younger and just her bounce, like
- 31:39Speaker 1: she's got a stiff upper lip. Mm-hmm. Where London's our
- 31:44Speaker 1: little sensitive... Butterfly. Yeah. Yeah, that actually is true. I
- 31:48Speaker 1: would say that.
- 31:48Speaker 2: But I think that both of the girls, given the circumstances.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. They have a beautiful relationship.
- 31:56Speaker 2: And by the way, it is only my responsibility as
- 31:58Speaker 2: their mom to lead the.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Way, right?
- 32:01Speaker 2: They're going to have their own opinions and their own
- 32:03Speaker 2: thoughts and their own hurts and experiences because I didn't
- 32:08Speaker 2: live in the house with you guys, right?
- 32:09Speaker 1: Right. But it's going to... Like the path that we're on,
- 32:16Speaker 1: it's only healing for everyone in their own personal way. Right.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Which I love. When I think there's also... this time
- 32:26Speaker 1: of life, right, where you're trying to explain things to children, right?
- 32:32Speaker 1: They don't have the life experience. Once they get older,
- 32:36Speaker 1: there's an appreciation. It's like the girl who was really
- 32:39Speaker 1: fucking tough on her mom and then she has a
- 32:42Speaker 1: baby of her own and that's her, like, her awakening of,
- 32:47Speaker 1: oh my gosh, everything my mom did for me because
- 32:51Speaker 1: she's now experiencing it, right? Yeah. So, A lot's going
- 32:55Speaker 1: to change.
- 32:55Speaker 2: I don't expect the girls, especially London, everyone is on
- 32:59Speaker 2: their own timeline, right? And I think London is on
- 33:02Speaker 2: her own timeline. And I would never want to put
- 33:05Speaker 2: words in her mouth. But I know that both of
- 33:11Speaker 2: my girls are going to look back in the future
- 33:15Speaker 2: and what we've done, the healing that we've done, the
- 33:19Speaker 2: coming together, and.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Really appreciate it. this and hopefully be thankful and if
- 33:25Speaker 1: they're not fuck them i'm happy did you ever watch
- 33:29Speaker 1: the morning show jennifer aniston goes to her kids college
- 33:34Speaker 1: and her call her college daughter is like kind of
- 33:37Speaker 1: a fucking brat and she loses her mind on her
- 33:40Speaker 1: yes oh and it is just like you have to
- 33:44Speaker 1: watch this scene it came up on instagram the other
- 33:47Speaker 1: day and every mother is like fuck yes, you little motherfuckers.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Do you know what we've been through? It like gets you, right?
- 33:56Speaker 2: I know that feeling because I'm at the age with Riley.
- 33:59Speaker 2: She'll be 13 next month. And sometimes I'm just like,
- 34:03Speaker 2: I want to shake her. And I'm like, Amber, you can't.
- 34:07Speaker 2: You have to realize like, this is right where you
- 34:10Speaker 2: need to be. She is right where she needs to be.
- 34:12Speaker 2: So you have to, I mean, I had this moments
- 34:16Speaker 2: with my mom. I remember my mom, like when we
- 34:18Speaker 2: were younger and she would be bawling her eyes out going,
- 34:21Speaker 2: you have no idea what we sacrificed.
- 34:23Speaker 1: And I'm like, no, I don't. I really don't care.
- 34:25Speaker 1: I'm 13.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Like I care about like something other than, you know,
- 34:30Speaker 2: the conversation we're having.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Right.
- 34:32Speaker 2: But it's true. It's a full circle. It's a full circle,
- 34:36Speaker 2: especially with daughters. Mother-daughter relationships.
- 34:41Speaker 1: They're hard, and I think it's harder when it's two girls.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Because all of my friends, who they're the only girl,
- 34:48Speaker 1: are so close to their moms. The ones that have
- 34:51Speaker 1: a sister, the mom's the enemy.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Right?
- 34:54Speaker 1: Because they have each other. Yes.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Yes.
- 34:57Speaker 2: I know. I know.
- 34:58Speaker 1: All right, next question. You've got two. I know. I know.
- 35:01Speaker 1: That's why I want a son. At least I have
- 35:02Speaker 1: one kid on my side. I'll give you a son, baby. Okay, great.
- 35:06Speaker 1: If your daughters bring home a partner, do you plan
- 35:08Speaker 1: to have the don't hurt my daughter talk with them
- 35:11Speaker 1: like the dad does in a nuclear family? I think
- 35:15Speaker 1: I could see myself making really funny comments as dry humor,
- 35:21Speaker 1: but I'll give the look of... don't fuck with my kid.
- 35:25Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Yeah, totally.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Instead of just like saying it and be like, Oh
- 35:28Speaker 2: my God, your mom said like, you know, I'll just
- 35:30Speaker 2: give the look like we're good.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Right? Yeah.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. I see you. Yeah. It's going to be
- 35:38Speaker 1: like that. I think with my personality, they would wish
- 35:42Speaker 1: there was a dad involved to give them that talk
- 35:44Speaker 1: because like, I'm going to tell you, I'm going to
- 35:46Speaker 1: fair warn you that I will go insane on your ass.
- 35:49Speaker 1: But like, this is not just a scare. Like I, this,
- 35:53Speaker 1: you should be thanking me that I'm like giving you
- 35:54Speaker 1: the heads up.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Right.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Yeah. See, we say that we say that. And then
- 36:00Speaker 1: you fuck with my daughters. You got a real problem
- 36:03Speaker 1: on your hands.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:06Speaker 1: So do your parents, actually. Your whole family's in trouble.
- 36:08Speaker 1: I'm going for your whole family. Not just you. No,
- 36:11Speaker 1: but I actually see Easton kind of taking on that
- 36:14Speaker 1: role because Easton already does take on that role.
- 36:16Speaker 2: If anything happens to my kids in a way where
- 36:18Speaker 2: I feel like I would totally call Easton, I'd be like, okay,
- 36:20Speaker 2: we got a problem.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Easton, I need you. Because he's very soft. But like,
- 36:26Speaker 1: when I see him in those situations, like Ocean already
- 36:28Speaker 1: at five coming home saying she was bullied and just
- 36:30Speaker 1: the way he talks to her, I'm like, we're going
- 36:33Speaker 1: to be okay. Because there's also something... different man to man. Right.
- 36:39Speaker 1: There's a level of, I mean, unless you find a good.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Guy that like respects women, but I really don't feel
- 36:45Speaker 2: like there's a lot like out there.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Yeah. It's, I think it's, um, a man to man
- 36:50Speaker 1: talk is so.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Much more powerful than being like, please don't hurt my
- 36:55Speaker 2: child at the, you know, really hurt you.
- 36:58Speaker 1: And I don't like ham sandwiches and nor do I
- 37:00Speaker 1: want to go to prison. But I will.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Because I see what happens in Mayor of Kingston, by
- 37:04Speaker 2: the way. That show is crazy.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I want to start watching that show. Don't watch it
- 37:08Speaker 1: at night, though. It's really grim. But anyways, yes. After
- 37:11Speaker 1: years of heavy drinking, my fiance and I decided to
- 37:13Speaker 1: give up alcohol. Any advice? Oh, I love that for them.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I love that they're doing it together. Yeah. God, my
- 37:22Speaker 1: advice is so lame. My advice is always you got
- 37:25Speaker 1: to take it one day at a time. Like, I
- 37:27Speaker 1: don't look at my drinking as a forever thing. Even
- 37:31Speaker 1: though it is a forever thing. Because the moment you
- 37:34Speaker 1: tell me this is forever, I want to go have
- 37:36Speaker 1: a drink. But if you tell me like, you can't
- 37:39Speaker 1: drink today. You can't drink when you leave here. It's like, well,
- 37:42Speaker 1: no shit. I'm not going to. And then, you know,
- 37:45Speaker 1: you're sitting here approaching almost eight years of sobriety. And
- 37:48Speaker 1: you're just like now wearing that like a badge of
- 37:51Speaker 1: honor being like, how much time can I collect? Is
- 37:54Speaker 1: that next week? The 22nd. Oh, I thought someone was
- 37:57Speaker 1: on the 15th. The 22nd. A couple. Okay. Okay. A
- 38:00Speaker 1: couple weeks, I think. Is that lame advice?
- 38:03Speaker 3: No.
- 38:03Speaker 1: And you know what? I think if they're doing it together,
- 38:05Speaker 1: who knows?
- 38:07Speaker 2: They may like going on a spiritual path together is
- 38:10Speaker 2: better than one going on a spiritual path and one
- 38:13Speaker 2: staying the same. Because I've been in relationships where like
- 38:16Speaker 2: one's evolving and one's not. And you can evolve out
- 38:20Speaker 2: of that relationship easily.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think the biggest thing would be open
- 38:23Speaker 1: communication with each other because if one of you is
- 38:26Speaker 1: very strong in your sobriety or not just giving up
- 38:30Speaker 1: alcohol and the other person is kind of teetering, it
- 38:34Speaker 1: just adds another layer of issues and resentments. It's like
- 38:39Speaker 1: very open communication. I'm really, really like I want to
- 38:42Speaker 1: have a drink. Okay, let's get to the root of it.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Why do you want to have a drink right now?
- 38:46Speaker 1: Because you're making me crazy. What if you said that?
- 38:48Speaker 1: Because you're making me crazy.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Great.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Okay. Let's figure out what you can go do that
- 38:52Speaker 1: isn't drinking. And like, I'm going to go, you know,
- 38:54Speaker 1: get a massage.
- 38:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:55Speaker 1: And when you're, when you can stand, I know that's
- 38:59Speaker 1: why I'm like, I love that they're doing it together.
- 39:01Speaker 2: But it's really the reason why are they doing it? Um,
- 39:05Speaker 2: they gave up alcohol. So it doesn't sound like it
- 39:07Speaker 2: was a problem. It sounds like it was for a
- 39:09Speaker 2: health reason. It wasn't like we have, we both have
- 39:11Speaker 2: issues with alcohol.
- 39:12Speaker 1: It's like, we just have you drinking one day at
- 39:16Speaker 1: a time, man. Yeah. Yeah. Regroup. Very simple. Yeah. If
- 39:20Speaker 1: you don't have a problem, I would, you know, you
- 39:23Speaker 1: come back around, have a glass of wine. Totally. I
- 39:26Speaker 1: always say, if you don't have to be sober, I
- 39:28Speaker 1: don't recommend it. That's exactly what I'm saying. trying to
- 39:30Speaker 1: say without saying it. Do you think you will ever
- 39:41Speaker 1: pick up a drink again years down the line or
- 39:44Speaker 1: just one glass? It's never just one glass.
- 39:48Speaker 3: No.
- 39:49Speaker 2: It's like if you're going to give me a bottle
- 39:50Speaker 2: of Xanax, I'm not just going to take one Xanax.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Like, who does that? It's like you have 29 days
- 39:57Speaker 1: of Xanax left. Might as well just finish the bottle. Right?
- 40:00Speaker 1: I could get this down in seven. Oh, my gosh. No,
- 40:04Speaker 1: I don't want to pick up another. I don't want
- 40:06Speaker 1: to pick up a drink. And here's the crazy part
- 40:09Speaker 1: about this is my rock bottom moment was so dark
- 40:14Speaker 1: that when I look at a drink, it takes me
- 40:17Speaker 1: to a place of like, oh, my gosh. anxiety I
- 40:20Speaker 1: have no control tomorrow I'm gonna wake up depressed so
- 40:24Speaker 1: even though the first drink that I see coming to
- 40:27Speaker 1: my friends I'm like oh that looks so good just
- 40:29Speaker 1: like a glass of rosé on a rooftop on like
- 40:31Speaker 1: a warm day like you start getting tingly.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Yeah release your inhibitions it's never just the first drink
- 40:38Speaker 2: no first drink's fine I talk myself to the second
- 40:41Speaker 2: and then I'm gonna chase that feeling and tomorrow we
- 40:44Speaker 2: are in a by the way it could just be
- 40:46Speaker 2: one drink today and then And then next week you
- 40:50Speaker 2: have one or two and then over.
- 40:53Speaker 1: It's a slow roll. It's a slow roll. It doesn't
- 40:55Speaker 1: have to be like one drink and you're down for
- 40:57Speaker 1: the count. It could be over... That's how it happens.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:01Speaker 1: You have a glass of wine and then three months
- 41:03Speaker 1: from now you're doing... You have the same behavior and
- 41:06Speaker 1: in a year you've thrown your whole life away. I'm
- 41:08Speaker 1: really curious to see what happens to Brad Pitt. I
- 41:10Speaker 1: am too. This is going to be really interesting... I
- 41:13Speaker 1: don't want to drink. I wake up early with my kids.
- 41:16Speaker 1: If I have a headache, I know that I just
- 41:18Speaker 1: have a headache. There's no reason to it. Right, right.
- 41:20Speaker 1: I like that. How do you help your kids feel
- 41:23Speaker 1: equally loved and prioritized? Jeez, that's a hard one. For me,
- 41:28Speaker 1: it's easy right now. It's like the little things where
- 41:30Speaker 1: like if I tell Sosa that I love her and
- 41:33Speaker 1: she's beautiful and I know Ocean's right there or vice versa,
- 41:36Speaker 1: like I say the exact same thing to Ocean. You know,
- 41:40Speaker 1: and I get a lot of alone time. with Sosa.
- 41:45Speaker 1: So Ocean's back to sleeping in my bed every single night.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I've told you, cause I was like, why am I
- 41:50Speaker 1: fighting this? No, it's, there's going to be a day
- 41:53Speaker 1: she doesn't even want to be in my bed. So like, that's,
- 41:57Speaker 1: that's our time together is like nighttime. And then putting
- 42:00Speaker 1: Sosa to bed at six 30. So I try to
- 42:02Speaker 1: spend time with them individually, but when they're together, it's like,
- 42:08Speaker 1: and when, when Sosa messes with Ocean, I really lay
- 42:12Speaker 1: down the law for Ocean. I said, that was not okay.
- 42:16Speaker 1: That is your toy and Sosa needs to share.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:20Speaker 1: You know, and Ocean feels very like my mom has
- 42:22Speaker 1: my back.
- 42:23Speaker 2: A hundred percent, but that's how it is with like
- 42:25Speaker 2: siblings and sisters and stuff. When your kids get older,
- 42:29Speaker 2: it definitely changes. I get the, They use it against me. Like, oh,
- 42:34Speaker 2: because yeah, London's your favorite kid. Or Riley's your favorite.
- 42:37Speaker 1: And I'm like, you know what?
- 42:38Speaker 2: Some days Riley is my favorite. And then some days
- 42:40Speaker 2: you are my favorite. So it depends on the day.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Right. Who's ovulating? Who's on their period? I love you
- 42:46Speaker 1: less on those days. Yes, those are the ones that
- 42:47Speaker 1: I love less. Easton still pulls that shit. Yeah, and
- 42:53Speaker 1: I do think it's true. And I'm like, on what planet?
- 42:56Speaker 1: On what planet? Easton was, yes, but Easton was babied.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Easton's spoiled.
- 43:02Speaker 3: You know?
- 43:03Speaker 1: Like, Easton could just, like, float through life, and everyone
- 43:07Speaker 1: was like, baby, the baby boy. He's the baby boy
- 43:11Speaker 1: for my mother. And for me, it was like, why
- 43:13Speaker 1: do you have a B? Easton's getting Ds. Well, that's
- 43:16Speaker 1: the baby boy. You know?
- 43:18Speaker 2: Autumn was very, Autumn being the littlest one, she is
- 43:23Speaker 2: the baby.
- 43:24Speaker 1: I mean, totally. And she acts like the baby.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:27Speaker 1: And I get treated like the middle child. And you are.
- 43:30Speaker 1: And I am.
- 43:31Speaker 2: So I guess I couldn't help that. Who in your
- 43:34Speaker 2: life makes you feel the most loved and how?
- 43:37Speaker 1: My kids. My kids and my mom and my brother.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Because it's unconditional. I can act up. I can say
- 43:44Speaker 1: the craziest shit on the planet. The most fucked up
- 43:47Speaker 1: things you've ever heard. And those people, not to my kids, obviously,
- 43:50Speaker 1: but to my mom and my brother. And they will
- 43:53Speaker 1: still rock with me. And when I apologize, it's like, great.
- 43:56Speaker 1: And it's done. They don't hold on to it. They
- 43:58Speaker 1: don't use it at a later date. Where, you know,
- 44:02Speaker 1: it could be convenient timing. Yeah. Do you have that? No.
- 44:07Speaker 1: That's what I'm thinking. Aw.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:10Speaker 1: I'll be that for you. Thank you. I will unconditionally
- 44:12Speaker 1: love you.
- 44:13Speaker 2: I mean, I know my parents unconditionally love me, but gosh,
- 44:17Speaker 2: that's a hard one for me.
- 44:17Speaker 1: I don't, yeah.
- 44:19Speaker 2: I think that's a hard, unconditional love. I know my
- 44:23Speaker 2: parents unconditionally love me because they haven't disowned me yet.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I mean, they did for a period, but then they
- 44:31Speaker 2: like came back around.
- 44:32Speaker 1: They're like, all right, fine. Bring her back in. You
- 44:34Speaker 1: should look into this. Yeah. This question, I think, opened
- 44:37Speaker 1: up something for you. Really? Yeah. You see it? I
- 44:40Speaker 1: saw it in your eyes and the way you were thinking.
- 44:42Speaker 1: You should deep dive into that question. We should highlight
- 44:44Speaker 1: it for you. Does anyone have a Sharpie? No, don't
- 44:48Speaker 1: black it out. Highlight it.
- 44:51Speaker 3: See?
- 44:52Speaker 1: That's what I want to do. There's so much happening
- 44:54Speaker 1: right now. I should be a therapist. I tell her
- 44:58Speaker 1: to highlight it, to deep dive. And she's like, where's
- 45:00Speaker 1: a Sharpie? I'm like, no, no, no, no, no. We're
- 45:02Speaker 1: going to address it, not black it out. Oh, that's funny.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Let's talk about sex. Where's the craziest place you've had sex?
- 45:08Speaker 1: Spill the deets. Mine's, everyone's going to judge me. An
- 45:12Speaker 1: airplane bathroom. I think that's so gross. Was it a
- 45:14Speaker 1: private jet though? Mine was. Yeah, that doesn't even count.
- 45:19Speaker 1: It doesn't? That's, it's not really crazy. That's not crazy.
- 45:22Speaker 1: I've done that a million times. Have you really?
- 45:24Speaker 3: Damn.
- 45:24Speaker 1: On an airplane? Yes. On a private jet. Yeah. I
- 45:28Speaker 1: am not about to have a plane land and have
- 45:30Speaker 1: like officers ready to escort me off because I was
- 45:34Speaker 1: fucking in the bathroom. By the way. Okay. It's disgusting.
- 45:37Speaker 1: It's disgusting. I've had an ex say like, let's go
- 45:39Speaker 1: to the bathroom. I'm like, no. And it's supposed to
- 45:42Speaker 1: sound like kinky and like she's down. It's like, No, no.
- 45:47Speaker 3: It's gross.
- 45:47Speaker 1: And it's so obvious. Two people going into the bathroom,
- 45:50Speaker 1: it's so obvious. And so small. By the way, there
- 45:52Speaker 1: was a story of my ex. I don't know why.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Not our ex, a different ex. He told me a story.
- 45:57Speaker 1: By the way, this is so funny.
- 45:59Speaker 2: How someone he met on an airplane, they had a
- 46:01Speaker 2: long flight across the country, and she ended up giving
- 46:03Speaker 2: him a hand job under, like, blankets.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I couldn't do that. That is just, like, what? I
- 46:08Speaker 1: did not do that. A stranger. Can you imagine? You
- 46:11Speaker 1: know who would do that? Sally. Oh. Sally would do that.
- 46:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:16Speaker 1: It's so random. But where is the craziest place? Oh,
- 46:20Speaker 1: I feel so guilty. God rest your soul, my Mormon grandmother.
- 46:24Speaker 1: But we had a condo in St. George and one
- 46:27Speaker 1: of the, it was only two bedrooms, but one of
- 46:29Speaker 1: the bedrooms was massive. So we had like queen bunk
- 46:33Speaker 1: beds built in. Yeah. And then in the back, it
- 46:35Speaker 1: was twin. My grandma, so it's like the room and
- 46:38Speaker 1: then a hallway where like a closet is, but and
- 46:41Speaker 1: then two bunk beds. She was there. So we're technically
- 46:44Speaker 1: in the same room. And I was with my high
- 46:46Speaker 1: school sweetheart. And I gave him a blowjob and had
- 46:50Speaker 1: sex with him in the same room as my Mormon grandma.
- 46:54Speaker 1: While she was sleeping? Yeah. You dirty dog. Yeah.
- 46:59Speaker 2: Awful.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Grandma knew. Grandma. And just pretended. I'm hoping she took
- 47:03Speaker 1: her Ambien that night. And her hearing aids out. I
- 47:08Speaker 1: was like, I can't believe I'm blowing my hot... sexy
- 47:13Speaker 1: tattooed Samoan boyfriend while grandma.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Sleeps Samoan boyfriend oh yeah he was fucking hot oh
- 47:19Speaker 3: my god six four how could you not how could
- 47:22Speaker 3: you not there's a lot of them in Utah and
- 47:24Speaker 3: we had you had to be quiet because I couldn't
- 47:27Speaker 3: bounce on it because I'd hit my head on wait
- 47:29Speaker 3: were you giving a blowjob.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Or were you having sex both I blew him and
- 47:32Speaker 1: then we had sex yeah I was a freak Oh,
- 47:37Speaker 1: I didn't even drink during that time. Obviously, I was
- 47:39Speaker 1: in high school, but. Well, you know, alcohol's never the problem.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Alcohol's never the problem. So that's the craziest place I've
- 47:50Speaker 1: done it. All right, let's end it with this one.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Who are your celebrity crushes? Have you met slash worked
- 47:55Speaker 1: with any of them? This one's for you. Ooh.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I haven't met or worked with any of my celebrity crushes,
- 48:03Speaker 2: but I'm trying to think of like.
- 48:04Speaker 1: I'm having a really hard time. Jake Gyllenhaal always does
- 48:08Speaker 1: it for me. I don't know why. He's really cute.
- 48:12Speaker 1: He's so cute. Ryan Gosling. I don't know why he
- 48:14Speaker 1: does it for me so hard. Him in crazy, stupid love.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Ryan Gosling in crazy, stupid love is like, and that's
- 48:22Speaker 1: not even my type. Celebrity athlete crush. Odell Beckham in
- 48:27Speaker 1: his prime. I don't know if I have a celebrity athlete.
- 48:31Speaker 1: And he would need to be a little taller. So
- 48:33Speaker 1: can I tweak the height of my celebrity crush? Yeah, right.
- 48:38Speaker 1: Odell Beckham, if he was like six, I'll give him,
- 48:41Speaker 1: I'll let him be six, three. And like back in
- 48:45Speaker 1: the day, he's looking a little thin through the face,
- 48:46Speaker 1: which is fine, which is fine. All good. Maybe he's
- 48:50Speaker 1: on a GLP. Maybe. He's microdosing something. But I mean,
- 48:54Speaker 1: he's hitting right. Give me a man who just has
- 48:56Speaker 1: tattooed arms, body, legs, the whole thing. You know what?
- 48:59Speaker 1: I agree. That's all I want. I agree. Someone who's
- 49:03Speaker 1: And kind. Six, four. Oh yeah, that part too. You
- 49:06Speaker 1: need to be kind. You need to be kind. There
- 49:08Speaker 1: we go. I love it. Excellent way to end this podcast.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Love you guys. Thank you for listening to another episode
- 49:14Speaker 1: of an unlikely affair. We'll catch you next week. Bye.
