- 0:00All right, we're on a quest to find the most interesting how we met
- 0:03story. So if you're married, if you have a party, you're daming
- 0:05somebody and you met each other in an interesting scenario, we'd love to hear
- 0:08at seven one two eight ninety eight seven, Amanda, you met your husbandnew
- 0:12Nick how it's kind of a blind date situation. It was his best friend
- 0:16from college. I had met her and she was kind of following us on
- 0:20social media, and she said, you two would be perfect together. I
- 0:24can see that, Like she said, what your lifestyle is just kind of
- 0:26manage. Yeah, we both liked fishing and we just kind of do the
- 0:30same things, just like you guys would be great together. I'm like,
- 0:32ah, I had just had a run on Bumble and Tinder. I'm like,
- 0:36I am out, Like this is not like Laurie on our Facebook page.
- 0:40She was on Plenty of Fish. That's where she met her significant other.
- 0:43Mon oh, wow, you heard of that. When you first saw
- 0:47the picture of Nick, what were your thoughts like, Oh, this guy's
- 0:50like nah or no? I actually said no, I'm good, I'm good.
- 0:54I need a break from guys. And then she sent me a picture
- 0:58of him on a jet Ski and I was like, oh, hey,
- 1:00here's my digits. And then he text me about an hour later and we
- 1:06met up for the first time. It was September seventeenth, twenty seventeen or
- 1:10September eighteen, twenty seventeen. And then we got married September urchuse me August
- 1:14eighteen. Yeah, yeah, one, I remember. I don't even remember
- 1:15my anniversary from the time you met. It took six months to get married
- 1:19and have two kids. And and here we my wife Lauren and I met
- 1:23at an old establishment. Here and farg are really known for being a romantic
- 1:27epicenter of the city. It was called the Hub, I believe, specifically
- 1:32at the Cadillac Ranch. Yeah, Boot, Scoot and Buggy or we did
- 1:38nah that night, we just met Amanda. That's hilarious. So what's your
- 1:42how we met? Story? Seven? Eight ninety eight seven. Casey's been
- 1:47on hold, Casey, how'd you meet? Um? So we were in
- 1:49college. I was in Baltimore and we were just hanging outside my room.
- 1:53Nie and I were when we're like, we really need some new friends.
- 1:57You're just with your friends, you're hanging out. You have my roommate outside,
- 2:01and so we decided to find some just tiny little rocks and throw them
- 2:05at whoever lived above us. We had no idea if it was like an
- 2:07old lady or who it was, um, so we just kept throwing them
- 2:13as Finally he came to the window and we're like, hey, come out
- 2:15and hung out with us. And he's like, well, I'm taking an
- 2:19online test right now. It'll be a little bit. And we're like,
- 2:21yeah, he's not coming down. Yeah right. He's like, who are
- 2:23these crazy people throwing rocks? Yeah, So we just stayed outside and sure
- 2:30enough he came outside eventually and hung out with us. And that was in
- 2:35two thousand and ten. Two thousand and fifteen, we got married and we'll
- 2:38be celebrating our eighth anniversary in August. Wow, all because you threw rocks
- 2:45at his window. That's right, that's a great idea, you Intergracie at
- 2:49your single right, Yeah, have you tried throwing rocks at windows? I
- 2:53have not? And then it's a good idea in the morning, un big
- 3:00nutty a point. You ever take a hobby too far? No, I've
- 3:04been racking my brain to figure out if I even have a hobby. I
- 3:06want to hear what your hobby is first of all. But after I tell
- 3:08you about this woman who took her hobby way too far, she got really,
- 3:10really into true crime, which I know a lot of people do.
- 3:15I love Dateline, but it considered that a hobby. He was a Yeah,
- 3:20you're a casual, they would call you. Okay. This lady love
- 3:23true crime so much she thought, Hey, I'm listening to a lot of
- 3:28murder stuff. I wonder what it would be like to murder somebody. Oh,
- 3:31stop it. So she got online on an app that sets up tutors
- 3:37with students, and she pretended to be the mother of a student, reached
- 3:40out to a tutor, showed up to her house dressed as a student,
- 3:44and stabbed a woman to death, proceeded to dismember her body. Now,
- 3:50initially this woman who was indicted from murder on Friday, than I can imagine.
- 3:54Yeah, she told police that they had an argument and that's what prompted
- 3:58the murder. She did admit to it. However, they found evidence that
- 4:01proved otherwise that there was no argument. She simply premeditated this whole thing because
- 4:05she became so obsessed with true crime. Oh my gosh, that's so creepy
- 4:11it is, so, I mean, it's just one example of taking a
- 4:14hobby too farne I can't wait to watch the date Line episode on that,
- 4:17and you know all the other Lifetime movies and things that they come up with.
- 4:23But I really I don't really feel like, do you not have a
- 4:26hobby. You don't have a single hobby you can think of if somebody asked
- 4:29you, like, oh, what do you like to do? What's your
- 4:30hobbies like? For me? I guess I love going to the lake,
- 4:34and that's consists of like numerous things. It's like a thing you do.
- 4:39I like fishing. Okay, that's kind of a hobby. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:42I don't get to do it as often as I would like, but
- 4:44I like fishing and four wheeling and like outdoorsy kind of things. I don't
- 4:48whine wheeling ever, but sure every weekend your four wheel Yeah, big avid
- 4:55wine drinker. I like to drink the notes of the you don't and ends
- 5:00on my tongue. There's no tannins. You're like my wife Lauren. She
- 5:02hasn't sort of the same thing where you know, like if you ask her
- 5:05what her hobby is, she would have a hard time it's like, you
- 5:08know, some people crochet or nit you know, do things that are like
- 5:10actualis like women we just crochet and Nitpike, my mom of you do your
- 5:15nity? Is that her hobby? I would say, So what about you?
- 5:18What's your hobby? Taylor Swift? Well, I mean that could be
- 5:21one of them. I like going to concerts. That's my thing, is
- 5:25like okay for my whole miss my whole life. I've been My mom took
- 5:29me to my very first concert when I was three, and since then it
- 5:31has been it's been like every year I have too many I could tell you
- 5:35about. That's awesome. That's a good hobby. It's expensive one and it's
- 5:39very I like golfing and I play guitar. Oh yeah yeah yeah. What
- 5:43about the sacks would you? Did you drop it? Yeah? That was
- 5:48in a past life. I don't even know the sacksman anymore. No,
- 5:53No, I don't play the saxophone for fun. So you're still struggling with
- 5:56the hobby thing, yes, and making me kind of feel bad that I
- 5:59don't have a hobby. Well, you should feel bad because if you don't
- 6:01have a hobby, what sort of life are you? I'm kidding. Now
- 6:04you should feel no, no, no, you don't need to have a
- 6:06stupid hobby like that's just for the internet, you know, look at my
- 6:10hobby. No, like you just like enjoying life, right, yeah,
- 6:13you guys, that are fun and that's your hobby. I am just living
- 6:15life to the fullest. Pike, You're just in inspiration everybody. Pike in
- 6:20Amanda in the morning. All right, we are talking about the how we
- 6:27met stories? How did you meet your partner? Romantic funny however, was
- 6:31we want to find the most interesting one, and we have a pretty good
- 6:34one, you know so far. I think the leader, if you guys
- 6:36agree, was Casey who called and said that her in a roommate in college
- 6:41were boards. They walked out of their apartment started throwing rocks at the person
- 6:45who lived above them. They had no idea who it was. That's hilarious.
- 6:46I mean, just like a prank that you have no idea and then
- 6:49you fall in love with the guy. Come on now that comes downstairs.
- 6:53They start hanging out. They've been married over ten years. Also, the
- 6:55guy who met basically on TikTok doing a duet when it was musically back in
- 6:59the day that was so super funny. So seven one, eight seven,
- 7:03what is your how we met story? Okay, my dad was driving a
- 7:08semi truck and he was out at a green station or elevator out in a
- 7:13small tone. Okay, famously one of the most romantic places green elevators in
- 7:17small cities. Yeah, go ahead. Well, he walked across the street
- 7:21to a golf course and my husband there and he came home and told me
- 7:26about this guy, and um, so I started golfing, and wow,
- 7:32yeah, you started golfing just because of this one guy. Well, yeah,
- 7:35he's really really hot. So we've golf for a couple of times.
- 7:40And then the one time we were done and he had a book tour.
- 7:43He's a manager as a golf course, and I turned around to say goodbye,
- 7:46and he kissed me in the doorways and he thought I was going to
- 7:48hit him, but I didn't. I kissed him back. Oh yes,
- 7:53And so that started. You know, we've been very twenty years since then.
- 7:57So wow, so I gotta ask, did you once he finally like,
- 8:01you know, kissed or whatever, were You're like, okay, I
- 8:03can give up this stupid frustrating game, or do you still go no,
- 8:05I like that was a fun game. Did you guys get married at that
- 8:11golf course? We were going to, We're supposed to on the first on
- 8:15the third green, but then he decided you want to get married in December
- 8:18and that wasn't gonna work. Yeah, no, definitely not. Nongratulations.
- 8:24That's pretty good. That is. You can chime in on Facebook, or
- 8:28you can always give us a call. Seven one two eight one ninety eight
- 8:31seven Natalie said her ten year high school reunion. No way, yeah,
- 8:35that's what did they in high school? Date at all? I don't know,
- 8:39that's all it says. I know, we have some questions. Natalie,
- 8:43h this was great bike? Who knew this was the love spot?
- 8:48Pam the Hub? Oh wow, yeah, that's where my wife Laura and
- 8:52I met, I know, Kristen said at the Pickled Parrot. Even even
- 8:56more romantic. Wow, this is so great. A lot of high schools
- 8:58we are on here as well. Feel free to chime in seven eight seven.
- 9:03All right, where'd you get meat? Where'd you meet? What's your
- 9:05how you met story? We met a valley fair? Really, so were
- 9:09you? I remember when I was younger, we'd go to I'd go visit
- 9:13my dad in Colorado, and I remember it. That was we were on
- 9:16the prow we'd go to six Flags and you'd be like going through the lines
- 9:18and just like checking people out as you're waiting for like the wild Thing or
- 9:22whatever it was. Please tell me you hit her with like a good wild
- 9:24Thing joke. Yeah. Yeah, I was working at the wild Thing and
- 9:30she worked in the water park. So you've a lifeguard co workers mingling.
- 9:35I love it, yeah, Parney, Parney, Yeah, you have pretty
- 9:41tough competition working at a carnival can Amanda in the morning eight point Well,
- 9:48we've all tried a silly diet or two, I'm sure, Oh gosh,
- 9:50yeah, I mean I've seen you do some weird things over there, Amanda,
- 9:54with your with your food and take. Yeah, you know, right
- 9:56now, my only thing I'm doing is like intermittent fast and I do my
- 10:00best to do that. It's a hot trend. I've been doing it for
- 10:03years. I'd like to think I was on the forefront of that one,
- 10:05but as you can see, it's not working at all. Oh whatever.
- 10:07There's a new diet though, according to research, that seems to be working
- 10:11really well. And you maybe have heard of this but apparently the Mediterranean diet
- 10:15not only heard of it, but I don't really understand what it is.
- 10:18All right, so what is the Mediterranean diet. It's a diet that is
- 10:20based mostly in fruit, vegetables and fish and a lot of healthy fat.
- 10:26Yeah, okay, so apparently it's what they eat in the Mediterranean. Yeah,
- 10:28you got it, You got it. I could probably do this because
- 10:31I love like salmon, salapia, but over the weekend, got some crappi.
- 10:37Is like that kind of a thing is there's a lot of SEMs that
- 10:39like it deep fried. Yeah, that's going to be the problem, all
- 10:43covered in oil and butter and oh so good. Well, the thing is
- 10:46the diet not only are people losing weights, fighting fighting obesity, but it's
- 10:50making your brain age backwards, which would be great. It combats things like
- 10:54Alzheimer's and yeah yeah, yeah, also helps lower your liver and fat ends
- 11:00times, which I don't even know what that means, but I assume my
- 11:01liver could use some hell so yeah, no kidding, what's the craziest diet
- 11:05he ever tried? For me? It was like I tried to do keido
- 11:11for a second, But that is one of those I just can't do like
- 11:13that high fat, Like that was hard for me, and you have to
- 11:18watch what you're doing otherwise you're gunna get like and wait, all I know
- 11:20about that is that you can eat as much bacon as you want, so
- 11:24what's so hard about it? But then that also just feels like that's not
- 11:26healthy. I think there has to be a certain balance of what you're doing
- 11:30right, And I'm not good at like taking the time to go through all
- 11:33that. So for me, I do my best to just like as much
- 11:35natural food as I possibly can. That's the way to do it. Like
- 11:39no low fat, none of that, like just real good, hardy food.
- 11:43Yeah, you can't go wrong, but it's easy. Like it's still
- 11:46in my mind though, I like, I'm like, oh I need that
- 11:48in low fat or oh no, sugar free. It's like, no,
- 11:50that's not always the best, not really. No. I tried a grapefood
- 11:54diet once. What a grapefruit diet? It's got to be like from the
- 11:58seventies, I don't know, but I'm remember I was like desperate. I
- 12:01was like early in college, put on like the freshman forty you know,
- 12:05you know, and uh, just eat grapefruit you got it. Yeah,
- 12:09literally, And I didn't even like grapefruit. That was the hard part.
- 12:11I'm like, I don't know what the benefit of this is. Probably you
- 12:13just lose weight because you're only eating fruit. My dad did once. I
- 12:18remember, it's like a cabbage soup diet. Oh and I can like still
- 12:22smell like because that's on every level, Like that's just so gross because the
- 12:26cabbage soup smelled. But then what was it like growing up with a dad
- 12:31who smelled like cabbage? That was had to be tough when he came to
- 12:35school intero grace, he ever tries silly diet. I did weight watchers for
- 12:39a while. That's not silly, No, only not silly. But no,
- 12:43does she I think I think she did about twenty years. Yeah,
- 12:46I don't know if she's still on the YadA in the morning on a lot
- 12:56of people are going to graduation parties. Maybe you had a kid graduate,
- 12:58of course it's that time yesterday. Really, So how is the food?
- 13:01Food was good? Jimmy John's okay, never never go wrong with I do
- 13:05love a good just like the homemade pulled pork sandwich. But anyway, I
- 13:09see you being the guy that just goes to graduation parties team I food hate
- 13:13it. I don't know any high school seniors like I'm in that weird age
- 13:16where like Mike, you know, kids, are you're going to all the
- 13:20wedding? If anybody still has a party yet to be had, I would
- 13:22love to go. I'll bring a card. There won't be any money in
- 13:26it, but I'll bring a card. My sister will be graduating next year,
- 13:28so I can't wait. I'm very hungry. But you thank you though,
- 13:31Yeah, good to know. All right. So there's a kid who's
- 13:33very impressive. I gotta tell you about this fourteen year old who not only
- 13:37did he graduate high school, he's graduated college as well. At fourteen years
- 13:41old, are you supposed to be oh, gosh, seventh eighth grade in
- 13:46that ballpark? Depending on why birthdays, probably eighth grade? Right, Yeah.
- 13:50So Melissa and Mark Wimer are his parents. His name is Mike.
- 13:54He's a child prodigy. They say they never pushed Mike to do homework,
- 13:58that little Raskell just wanted to do it anyway, and by doing so,
- 14:05he managed to not only graduate with a bachelor's degree, but in that time,
- 14:11in three years, he also ran two tech companies started a third one
- 14:13and partnered with Atlantic Lions Share, which is a company. You're speaking gibberish
- 14:20to me, But can I just go back to the fact that the parents,
- 14:24I mean, you gotta give a credit words due great parents. I'm
- 14:26sure, yeah, but yeah, never punished some like get out of here,
- 14:31because there was nothing to punish him about. The kid graduated college at
- 14:35fourteen. You probably like, at that point, do you have to like
- 14:39stop him from doing homework? Be like, all right, bye, listen,
- 14:41but it's midnight. You gotta get some sleep. Yeah, I guess
- 14:46I don't get you like screen time, but the screen is his calculatory might
- 14:52put teen nine whatever it was. Look up this morning, Up this morning,
- 14:56you can Amanda in the morning made eight point one trending. Now here's
- 15:03what you need to know. Authority's arrested a man in Arizona over the weekend.
- 15:07They found him traveling with pounds of fetinol and cocaine in his car.
- 15:11He was twenty seven years old, about forty five minutes north of the US
- 15:13Mexico border. They ended up finding more than a million fetinol pills that weighed
- 15:18nearly two hundred and thirty pounds and about ten pounds of cocaine in the car.
- 15:24Drug I guess estimated value on the street for this is going to be
- 15:28three point one million dollars. That's way too many drugs and I'm glad they
- 15:31got it because that stuff is the devil. And man Wabaudan please say that
- 15:37a thirty four year old man was shot. Officers didn't receive a call about
- 15:39four thirty five pm on Saturday. When they responded, they found a thirty
- 15:43four year old man outside Lane on the ground with a chesspoon. The man
- 15:46was lifelighted to Fargo. The victim indicated that he was shot by a family
- 15:50member. They arrested thirty seven year old Shanley Lane for attempted murder. Hey,
- 15:54it feels like a really big year at the box office. I know
- 15:58COVID did some damage to Vodka's office or ratings and sales and all that kind
- 16:03of single movie. Yeah, and I feel like it's kind of backcause Super
- 16:06Mario Brothers one of the biggest movies of all time, and then yes it
- 16:11was like number two or number three. Yeah, yes, of all time.
- 16:15I think the one movie needed to like pass his et and then that
- 16:18would have been. Yeah, it's crazy, we're talking about a different list,
- 16:21Like the biggest box office movies ever are obviously like the Avengers films,
- 16:25Titanic, Nope, Avatar, No, we're just kidding. Super Mario Bros.
- 16:30Is up there. Okay, I believe you if you hadn't included ET,
- 16:32because since when is ET on that list? Intergrac I know you've been
- 16:37googling your little fingers out this morning, but I think, well, I
- 16:40will tell you this. A spider Man across the Spider Verse had as successful
- 16:44opening over the weekend, bringing in one hundred and twenty point five million dollars.
- 16:48That was the best opening so far for the summer, beating out Guardians
- 16:51of the Galaxy Volume three, and that was one hundred and eighteen million.
- 16:55I am terrible. I have not gotten and seen any of these movies,
- 16:57but I heard Guardians of the Galaxy. There was a grown man in our
- 17:00break room last week on his birthday talking about that's where he went, and
- 17:04he was crying. He's like, really, I choked up like three or
- 17:07four times. I'm like over a Marvel movie. You haven't cried in a
- 17:11movie before. I guess I just expected this to be more of a you
- 17:15know, well, yeah, it's a superhero thing. But of course there's
- 17:17storyline, there's like romance, there's like every movie. You know. No,
- 17:22what's the last movie you cried watching? Well, it was more of
- 17:26a series. It was Firefly Lane. Oh yeah, Oh that got me
- 17:29good. I was ball lean for like two days watching that. What happened?
- 17:33Tell me who died? No? What? I don't want to Well,
- 17:36I guess it's not really a spoiler. Catherine Heigl's character die? No,
- 17:40the other one? Who's the other one? I can't think of he
- 17:42died? Though? You just telling everybody she died? Okay? Everyone,
- 17:45if you wanted to watch it? All right? What are we talking about?
- 17:48Was Super Mario Brothers? You really wanted me to google that? Okay?
- 17:52Kidding? Well highest grossing movies if you yeah, that's what we want.
- 17:59Well, the top lifetime gross number one is Avatar, thank you?
- 18:02Okay? And then it's Avengers yep? Where where do we find that?
- 18:06The other list? Oh? Geez animated? You guys animated? Sorry,
- 18:10wasn't animated, but that somehow came out of your mouth. No it I
- 18:14hate to be this guy, but I just can't have you saying things like
- 18:15that wildly incorrect information. Oh here we going into work. No, no,
- 18:21no, no, Frozen one, Frozen two is the top grossing animated
- 18:26movie, and then it's Super Mario Bros. Yes, so it's animated,
- 18:30and then Frozen is number three. That's why I meant. That's when I
- 18:32said, I'm sure it's on a list of some kind, but it's not.
- 18:34All right, thank you, the real information. Ready, let's oh
- 18:42no, Amanda Stills the sea we see all right? Are they over?
- 18:48Is it done? What is going on? Taylor Swift's man, Maddie Healy,
- 18:52which, by the way, didn't even know this guy until like six
- 18:53weeks ago. Now it's everywhere you turn, and some people are calling him
- 18:57Maddie and some are calling him matt. I mean, iagine going home to
- 19:00your parents and like maybe oh, I got a new boyfriend, and they
- 19:03go, what's his name? And you say Maddie. Good? Could they
- 19:06even say? How can you say that? Seriously? You'd be like saying
- 19:07you're dating a guy named Timmy. No offense anybody named Timmy listening you don't
- 19:11like Ta ta and Maddie as an item, Well, he's back to his
- 19:15old way as I'm like, what does that even mean? So apparently because
- 19:18he is actually famous, he's a part of a group in the nineteen seventy
- 19:22five They're not my thing? But what was that big song Chocolate? I
- 19:26have no idea anyway. He had sat down for an interview a few weeks
- 19:30back and he said that he stopped kissing fans out of respect for Taylor Swift
- 19:33and maybe just in general, maybe you don't just start kissing fans. Weep,
- 19:38you don't, That's what Elvis usaid, don't say, and maybe that's
- 19:41a vibe is going with. But he kissed a male security guard on the
- 19:45lips are in his concert of the weekend. He has notoriously been doing this
- 19:48forever, but on Friday he got down on his knees and shared an intimate
- 19:51moment with a staff member. Weird, that is a weird thing. I
- 19:53know, you've got to find like your thing, your niche whatever, but
- 19:56that's not a cool one. No, it's not at all. And let's
- 20:00the security guard was like, hey, kiss me then, and everyone's signed
- 20:03kiss me. And according to intern Gracie and your swifty Easter egg line or
- 20:10whatever you got going on over there, they maybe broke up. It's what
- 20:12I've been seeing all over my Taylor Swift Facebook group that because of this situation
- 20:18or is she just no over the fact that was it? The my mom
- 20:22is miss Piggy did that? I got a fact that set her over the
- 20:26edge. Here's here's this band in the nineteen seventy five Remember this song?
- 20:30I don't know no, I think we played it for a second here on
- 20:36Big Ninea point seven. Anyway, she should break up with him, if
- 20:38she hasn't already. I suspect she has, though, and she's gonna pretend
- 20:41like it never happened. She'll be asking interviews. You know, She's like,
- 20:45I don't know who that guy even is? What that wasn't me?
- 20:48You mean that anti semi never even heard of it? Yeah? Right,
- 20:52And this divorce is just never, ever, ever, ever gonna be done.
- 20:56Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie at it again. This time it is over this
- 21:00winery. They've been going back and forth with it. They actually bought it.
- 21:03They got married there. When they broke up. Brad was very very
- 21:07like adamant about wanting this. I want this, I want this. So
- 21:11she was being vindictive, according to him, collaborating some sort of secret with
- 21:15this guy and kept Brad in the dark and ended up giving her shares to
- 21:19this dude. I don't like to assume what kind of person a person is
- 21:23just by looking at their face. But if you look at Angela and the
- 21:26Jolie's bace, what word comes to mind? I mean vindictive? Right,
- 21:30Yes, and I've tried. I've never liked her since a Brad and Jen
- 21:34thing though, like that was. I was always team Jennifer Anniston. But
- 21:37she's not making herself look good in this situation either. Doesn't she play the
- 21:41yes melanocent yea, that's like perfect for her? Ye all agree? That
- 21:48is so perfect for her? At what point did they just get back together
- 21:52just like give up? Right? No, I don't think he's ever going
- 21:56to do that. But for the first time in however, it'll be thirty
- 22:00years. I watched hocus Pocus when the second one came out. My daughter
- 22:03and I were watching it because it's on Disney Plus easy to access, and
- 22:07I loved it. Now we're finding out they're working on hocus Pocus three.
- 22:11Man, how old are these ladies? These witches? See what I'm with
- 22:15you, Amanda That's the only reason I watched the first one is because the
- 22:18second one came out, So, yeah, I gotta watch the first one.
- 22:19Yeah, I saw the first one years ago. That Midler's got to
- 22:22be what in her or seven? She was seventy seven when I googled it
- 22:25earlier. Yeah, because you thought, why do I think she is dead?
- 22:27And I'm still not convinced she's not dead? Are are they going forward
- 22:30with the movie thinking she's alive and she's dead? The fact you are thinking
- 22:36Bett Midler's dead is mind blowing. Died who Betty White? Betty White,
- 22:41Bette Midler actress? Maybe similar to Who's like Who's kind of like Bette Midler?
- 22:51There's some that comes to find I don't know, but when she dies,
- 22:55I'm going to have a wind beneath my wings on repack
