- 0:07Speaker 2: It off into the right flass to Michael Bumpers, who
- 0:09Speaker 2: bounces off of one tackler cats inside the forty down
- 0:12Speaker 2: of the thirty five yard line.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Powered by seahawks dot Com.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Matt pumpfake's looking at the gold line.
- 0:17Speaker 3: He throws it into the m zone.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Touchdown, Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving catching
- 0:22Speaker 2: the end zone.
- 0:23Speaker 4: A ten yard.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Touchdown reception for Bumpers, and the kid out of Washington
- 0:28Speaker 2: State has found himself a place on this team.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Now here's your host, Nasa Chobee.
- 0:34Speaker 5: Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk. The Seahawks getting
- 0:37Speaker 5: ready to travel down to Dallas taking on the Dallas Cowboys,
- 0:42Speaker 5: and Man bump Thanksgiving didn't treat the Seahawks too well.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Not very thankful.
- 0:47Speaker 6: I'm not very thankful for what happened on Thanksgiving, but
- 0:50Speaker 6: idea is what it is.
- 0:52Speaker 5: Yeah, Man, Seahawks are unable to get things done on Thanksgiving.
- 0:55Speaker 5: Like we said, they got to turn around and play
- 0:57Speaker 5: their third game in twelve days, which is pretty wild.
- 1:00Speaker 5: That's a lot for their bodies in an NFL team.
- 1:03Speaker 5: But it is what it is. That is what the
- 1:05Speaker 5: schedule is. So let's waste no more time get into
- 1:07Speaker 5: these Dallas Cowboys. What's on tap?
- 1:12Speaker 1: What's on tap?
- 1:15Speaker 5: Dallas Cowboys eight and three second in the NFC East
- 1:18Speaker 5: wins over the Giants, Jets, Patriots, Rams, Chargers, Giants, Panthers,
- 1:24Speaker 5: and Commanders three defeats to the Cardinals, San Francisco forty
- 1:27Speaker 5: nine Ers and the Philadelphia Eagles. Now we'll say it
- 1:30Speaker 5: a couple times throughout the podcast today, one of the
- 1:34Speaker 5: silver linings that I'm gonna fall on is the Cowboys
- 1:37Speaker 5: have not beat a team with a winning record.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Nah, they ain't be nobody. So we'll hold on Toda.
- 1:43Speaker 5: We got to hold onto something because the numbers, boy
- 1:45Speaker 5: are something else. And we'll definitely jump in all of that.
- 1:48Speaker 5: But let's just go back to Thanksgiving for the Cowboys.
- 1:50Speaker 5: They took on the Commanders. That game was not how
- 1:53Speaker 5: you'd division it to go or exactly how you did
- 1:55Speaker 5: vision to go for the Cowboys. Cowboys roll the Commanders
- 1:58Speaker 5: by a score forty five ten. It was competitive in
- 2:01Speaker 5: the first half, but right before halftime, Tony Pollard extended
- 2:04Speaker 5: the Cowboys lead to twenty to ten after a seven
- 2:07Speaker 5: yard touchdown Cabin a five play seventy five yard drive.
- 2:10Speaker 5: It was also the Cowboys second half. It was excuse me,
- 2:14Speaker 5: it was all Cowboys in the second half as they
- 2:16Speaker 5: scored twenty five on answered in a route to a
- 2:18Speaker 5: blowout victory. Deron Bland said an NFL record with his
- 2:22Speaker 5: fifth interception return for a touchdown this season, which is nuts.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Will jump into that a little bit later.
- 2:27Speaker 5: And the Cowboys extend their longest home winning streak in
- 2:29Speaker 5: forty two years to thirteen games. Dak Prescott did his
- 2:33Speaker 5: thing twenty two of thirty two three hundred and thirty
- 2:36Speaker 5: one yards, four touchdowns. That was his fifth consecutive game
- 2:39Speaker 5: with at least two touchdown passes. Ten different receivers had receptions.
- 2:43Speaker 5: Tony Pollard did his thing seventy nine yards in a touchdown,
- 2:46Speaker 5: and for Washington, Sam Howell passed for three hundred yards
- 2:49Speaker 5: but had zero touchdown and interception. That game was rough
- 2:54Speaker 5: on the Commanders, the Cowboys doing what they do with
- 2:56Speaker 5: beat down on teams that aren't very good. That's not
- 2:59Speaker 5: to say they aren't good football team, but yeah, man,
- 3:02Speaker 5: the Commander's just overmatch.
- 3:04Speaker 6: Yeah, man, you know, Sam Howell is still putting together
- 3:07Speaker 6: a good season, but you can tell there are a
- 3:09Speaker 6: few new moves away, right. The Cowboys got their their
- 3:12Speaker 6: their quarterback, they got the running back. Defense, they're put
- 3:14Speaker 6: together ready to go. The commanders are trying to figure
- 3:16Speaker 6: some things out. So not surprised. Maybe surprised with how
- 3:19Speaker 6: many points that they gave up, but I'm not surprised
- 3:22Speaker 6: that the Cowboys got the win. All right, man, Let's
- 3:24Speaker 6: look at these teams head to head record wise. You know,
- 3:26Speaker 6: the Hawks are six and five. The Dallas Cowboys are
- 3:28Speaker 6: eight and three. When it comes to the offense, the
- 3:31Speaker 6: Cowboys are rolling. They're fifth in the league, averaging three
- 3:34Speaker 6: hundred and seventy seven yards. The Hawks are twenty first
- 3:37Speaker 6: in the league averaging three to seventeen run of the football.
- 3:40Speaker 4: The Hawks are twenty six. The Cowboys are thirteenth.
- 3:43Speaker 6: Pass offense, the Cowboys are fifth, the Hawks are seventeenth.
- 3:46Speaker 6: And points per game, nobody does it better in the
- 3:49Speaker 6: league than the Cowboys are averaging thirty one point five
- 3:51Speaker 6: points per game in the Hawks nineteenth, averaging twenty point eight.
- 3:55Speaker 6: Let's flip over to the defense. Still, Cowboys got some
- 3:58Speaker 6: numbers Man third in the league. When it comes to defense,
- 4:00Speaker 6: allowing tored in seventy three seventy six yards per game,
- 4:04Speaker 6: the Hawks are twenty third, allowing three hundred and forty eight.
- 4:06Speaker 6: When it comes to run defense, the Cowboys are thirteenth,
- 4:09Speaker 6: the Hawks are twenty first.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Pass defense, the Hawks are second.
- 4:12Speaker 6: Excuse me, the Cowboys are second, give it up one
- 4:15Speaker 6: hundred and sixty seven per game and the Hawks twenty second.
- 4:18Speaker 6: Give it up two hundred and thirty. And then points allowed.
- 4:21Speaker 6: The Cowboys are fourth and the Seahawks are twenty second.
- 4:26Speaker 6: Not very encouraging when you look at these numbers. But
- 4:29Speaker 6: you know, I spoke to Todd Archer, he's the ESPN
- 4:32Speaker 6: reporter for the Cowboys, and he says, despite the numbers,
- 4:36Speaker 6: there's respect over there on the Cowboys side. They're looking
- 4:39Speaker 6: at the Seahawks and saying they stuck at DK Locket
- 4:41Speaker 6: and all these other names on offense and defense.
- 4:43Speaker 4: So I'm gonna hold on to that as well.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Man.
- 4:45Speaker 6: The numbers don't favor the Seahawks, but the respect is
- 4:48Speaker 6: still there.
- 4:49Speaker 3: No, they don't. You're not.
- 4:50Speaker 5: I mean, you talk about a team that's fifth in
- 4:52Speaker 5: total offense, third and defense so they do it on
- 4:54Speaker 5: both sides of the ball. They get after the quarterback,
- 4:57Speaker 5: they protect the quarterback. So it's gonna be the Seahaws
- 4:59Speaker 5: are definitely have their work cutout for him. This is
- 5:01Speaker 5: a good football team. But once again the theme of
- 5:03Speaker 5: this podcast, they have not beat a team with a
- 5:05Speaker 5: winning record, so I'm gonna hold onto that all of
- 5:08Speaker 5: the twelve should do the exact same thing. These teams
- 5:11Speaker 5: don't play a ton, but they have played in the
- 5:13Speaker 5: recent couple of years. Let's know the.
- 5:15Speaker 3: History, No your history.
- 5:18Speaker 5: Cowboys lead the all time series eleven to ten. They
- 5:21Speaker 5: are nine to ten in the regular season. Postseason matchups
- 5:24Speaker 5: are tied at one. One of those wins we know
- 5:26Speaker 5: is big play. Babs's got to shout him out when
- 5:28Speaker 5: we play the Cowboys because we won't forget that. The
- 5:31Speaker 5: Seahawks dropped their last playoff matchup in twenty eighteen season
- 5:34Speaker 5: in Dallas. But the good news the Seahawks have won
- 5:37Speaker 5: four of their last five, including the last two regular
- 5:39Speaker 5: season games in Dallas. Last meeting was back during the
- 5:42Speaker 5: COVID season, which feels like ten years ago now a
- 5:45Speaker 5: while ago, but the Seahawks took down the Cowboys thirty
- 5:49Speaker 5: eight to thirty one at Loomenfield in twenty twenty. Game
- 5:52Speaker 5: feature tons of offense combining for nine hundred and thirty
- 5:55Speaker 5: four yards.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Seahawks had a bigger lead.
- 5:58Speaker 5: They're up thirty to fifteen and third quarter Cowboys will
- 6:00Speaker 5: scored the next seventeen to take the lead, but Russell
- 6:03Speaker 5: Wilson would find his late game magic as the Seahawks
- 6:06Speaker 5: are going in eight play seventy five yard drive ending
- 6:08Speaker 5: with a twenty nine yard score to dk Metcalp Hollisterer
- 6:11Speaker 5: would catch the two point conversion and the Seahawks would
- 6:14Speaker 5: take the lead with one forty seven left on the clock.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Dallas would make things interesting on the game's final drive,
- 6:19Speaker 5: getting to the Seahawks twenty six yard line, but Dak
- 6:21Speaker 5: Prescott was intercepted by our guy, Ryan Neil. Big ups
- 6:25Speaker 5: to Ryan Neil, one of my favorites ever. Hopefully he's
- 6:27Speaker 5: still doing his thing down there in Tampa. Russell finished
- 6:30Speaker 5: the day twenty seven to forty three hundred and fifteen yards,
- 6:33Speaker 5: five touchdown, no kicks. Yeah, that was that was prime
- 6:38Speaker 5: of Russell cooking days for those out there we're keeping
- 6:40Speaker 5: score on that.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that was.
- 6:42Speaker 5: Things were a little different than the offense. And another
- 6:44Speaker 5: crazy thing while we're doing we're talking about history. There's
- 6:47Speaker 5: a lot of history between these two teams. Brian Schottenneimer,
- 6:50Speaker 5: offensive coordinator in Dallas, Dan Quinn defensive coordinator in Dallas,
- 6:54Speaker 5: both spent a lot of time here in Seattle. So yeah, man,
- 6:57Speaker 5: I'm hoping that Gino can show Smorrio over there. Eddie, Yeah,
- 7:01Speaker 5: I think so, yeah, So damn yeah, You're right. There's
- 7:04Speaker 5: a lot going on there, so I'm oping Gino can
- 7:06Speaker 5: channel some of that Russell Wilson magic from twenty twenty.
- 7:09Speaker 5: See if Sahawks can get this done. But let's check
- 7:12Speaker 5: back in with the rest of the NFC West. What's
- 7:14Speaker 5: the word side?
- 7:19Speaker 2: Now? The Seahawks are the NFC West champs again.
- 7:22Speaker 4: What's the word in the West?
- 7:25Speaker 3: On Hawk talk?
- 7:27Speaker 4: Man?
- 7:27Speaker 6: Hawks had a chance, you know, tie things up with
- 7:30Speaker 6: the forty nine ers on Thanksgiving, but that didn't happen.
- 7:32Speaker 6: Here's where the standings are currently. San Francisco forty nine
- 7:36Speaker 6: Ers eight and three, the Seahawks are six and five,
- 7:38Speaker 6: the Rams are five and six, and the Cardinals are
- 7:41Speaker 6: two and ten. Last week we saw the Rams take
- 7:44Speaker 6: on the Cardinals and Matthew Stafford had a season high
- 7:47Speaker 6: four touchdowns and the Rams got to work on the Cardinals,
- 7:50Speaker 6: beating them thirty seven to fourteen. The Rams now have
- 7:54Speaker 6: won nine straight games against Arizona going back to twenty fourteen.
- 7:58Speaker 6: The Cardinals have lost eight other last nine games. The
- 8:02Speaker 6: Rams took a twenty one to eight lead at halftime,
- 8:03Speaker 6: and the Arizona they cut into the margin ten points.
- 8:07Speaker 6: Matt Prader had a fifty six yard field goal just
- 8:09Speaker 6: before the break, but it was negated by a.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Holding call that sucks.
- 8:13Speaker 6: The Rams was scored the next seventeen, going up thirty
- 8:16Speaker 6: seven to eight before a garbage sign touchdown by the Cardinals.
- 8:19Speaker 6: Kyra Wills returned to the lineup with a huge game
- 8:22Speaker 6: man He had two hundred and four total yards, one
- 8:23Speaker 6: forty three rushing, sixty one receiving, and two receiving touchdown.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Stafford finished the game.
- 8:29Speaker 6: He was super fishing twenty five to thirty three, two
- 8:31Speaker 6: twenty nine, four touchdowns and only one interception. Tyler Higbee,
- 8:35Speaker 6: I set him on my fantasy team this week. Wrong
- 8:38Speaker 6: week to do that because he had two receiving touchdowns
- 8:40Speaker 6: as well. Kyler Murray we was twenty seven to forty
- 8:43Speaker 6: five two fifty six and two touchdowns, and Buddha Baker
- 8:46Speaker 6: did his thing.
- 8:46Speaker 4: He led all defensive players with nine tackles.
- 8:51Speaker 6: And the rest of Week twelve, the forty nine Ers
- 8:52Speaker 6: will play the Philadelphia Philadelphia Eagles in Philly and the
- 8:55Speaker 6: Rams will host the Browns in Arizona. Look to stop
- 8:58Speaker 6: the bleeding as a travel to Pittsburgh.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Yeah, man, I'm hoping, just looking ahead, I'm hoping the
- 9:04Speaker 5: Niners and the Eagles play the most physical game, beat
- 9:08Speaker 5: them up, that goes into overtime, to the end of
- 9:11Speaker 5: you know, the end of overtime. As long as you
- 9:13Speaker 5: can go physical game, you know. I want everyone to
- 9:16Speaker 5: come out, you know, for the most part healthy, but
- 9:18Speaker 5: a couple guys are a little banged up and they
- 9:20Speaker 5: don't want to play the next couple of weeks. I'm
- 9:22Speaker 5: ad at nobody for taking some extra time off. But
- 9:26Speaker 5: let's flip the script back to these Dallas Cowboys eight
- 9:28Speaker 5: and three as we go, Man up, man.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Up on Hawk Talk.
- 9:41Speaker 5: We're gonna start with the quarterback position like we always do.
- 9:44Speaker 5: Dak Prescott take it on the Seahawks defense, and the
- 9:46Speaker 5: Seahawks are facing a quarterback who's playing not only some
- 9:49Speaker 5: really good football, but probably some of the best in
- 9:51Speaker 5: the National Football League and the best in his career
- 9:53Speaker 5: to this point. DA's among the league leaders in almost
- 9:56Speaker 5: every single category for quarterbacks. He's sixthen yards set get
- 10:00Speaker 5: a complete per percentage right at seventy seventh in yards
- 10:02Speaker 5: per game, second in touchdowns, second in QBR, second in
- 10:05Speaker 5: QB rating, and the Cowboy's been rolling man three weeks.
- 10:09Speaker 5: They have outscored last three weeks, outscored opponents one hundred
- 10:12Speaker 5: and twenty seven to thirty seven, and that's a large
- 10:15Speaker 5: part because of Dak Prescott. In those games, Prescott is
- 10:18Speaker 5: seventy three of one hundred and five or nine hundred
- 10:21Speaker 5: and twenty four yards ten touchdowns in one interception. Against
- 10:25Speaker 5: the Commanders, Prescott threw for three hundred and thirty one
- 10:27Speaker 5: yards four touchdowns. That was his tenth game in his
- 10:31Speaker 5: career with four touchdowns, which tied Tony Romel for the
- 10:34Speaker 5: most in franchised history. Prescott has really landed one bad
- 10:39Speaker 5: game this season. That's when they got destroyed by the
- 10:41Speaker 5: forty nine Ers in Week five. That day, he went
- 10:43Speaker 5: fourteen of twenty four one hundred and fifty three yards,
- 10:46Speaker 5: one touchdown, three I in t's on the year two
- 10:50Speaker 5: hundred and fifty nine and three seventy twenty nine, hundred
- 10:53Speaker 5: and thirty five yards, twenty three touchdowns, six interceptions, and
- 10:56Speaker 5: has two rushing touchdowns. One quick note that I found
- 11:00Speaker 5: on these Dallas Cowboys is that Dak Prescott, when he
- 11:05Speaker 5: turns the ball over in his career, throws just one interception.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Bump.
- 11:09Speaker 5: The Cowboys are fifteen and fifteen when he throws more
- 11:13Speaker 5: than one interception, and they are six and thirteen when
- 11:16Speaker 5: he throws no interceptions. They're forty seven and twelve. So
- 11:20Speaker 5: if you can turn them over, some good things can happen.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Like I said, they got the fifth best offense in
- 11:24Speaker 5: the league, averaging three hundred and seventy seven yards per game,
- 11:26Speaker 5: and they have the number one scoring offense. The Seahawks
- 11:29Speaker 5: have their work cut out for him, as they are
- 11:31Speaker 5: twenty third and total defense in twenty second against the pass.
- 11:34Speaker 5: So Dax plays some really good football right now, and
- 11:37Speaker 5: he's the guy that you want to turn the ball over,
- 11:39Speaker 5: as the numbers would suggest that will bode well for you.
- 11:42Speaker 5: But Dak is doing his thing right now, and he's
- 11:43Speaker 5: gonna be tough to contend with.
- 11:45Speaker 6: Yeah, Dak is one of the more confusing players in
- 11:48Speaker 6: the league, man, because you see the talent.
- 11:51Speaker 4: They paid him for a reason.
- 11:52Speaker 6: And he'll put these stretches of football together that look great,
- 11:55Speaker 6: and then he'll put together two or three quarters where
- 11:56Speaker 6: you're like, what's going on?
- 11:58Speaker 4: So give me those what's going on in quarters? Please?
- 12:00Speaker 6: On Thursday, I let's talk about our quarterback Gino Smith.
- 12:03Speaker 6: He's gonna go up against this Cowboys defense, and he
- 12:06Speaker 6: had a tough game against that Ford Nars defense. He
- 12:08Speaker 6: was under pressure all game long. He was hit twelve
- 12:10Speaker 6: times and sacked a season high six times. He finished
- 12:14Speaker 6: the day eighteen and twenty seven for a buck eighty
- 12:16Speaker 6: zero touchdowns in one interception, ending his two game turnover.
- 12:20Speaker 6: The Street Seathawks first five possessions versus San Fran, they
- 12:24Speaker 6: gained eighteen excuse me, fifteen yards. You know, people don't
- 12:27Speaker 6: like I said san Fran on my show and someone
- 12:30Speaker 6: texted in and say, don't call it san Fran, And
- 12:32Speaker 6: I go, are you from San Francisco?
- 12:34Speaker 4: Let's go? No? So I go, all right, san Fran.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Then I don't know what it is. Have you heard that?
- 12:37Speaker 4: Don't san f Yeah, I don't know.
- 12:40Speaker 3: You ain't from the babman, shoutout, you ain't from the.
- 12:42Speaker 6: Bay, and texted my show. All right, back to business.
- 12:45Speaker 6: Third downs were a problem for the Seahawks. They were
- 12:48Speaker 6: three for eleven, man, all right. So now Gino stats
- 12:51Speaker 6: through eleven games. We're always comparing him to last year,
- 12:54Speaker 6: first time pro bowler. Let's see where he's at. Last
- 12:56Speaker 6: year he was completing seventy two percent of his passes.
- 12:58Speaker 6: This year sixty five in this three eleven games. Last
- 13:01Speaker 6: year he was at twenty eight hundred and two yards
- 13:04Speaker 6: this year twenty five hundred and eighty four yards last year.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Nineteen touchdowns this year, twelve last year.
- 13:09Speaker 6: Five interceptions this year eight last year, twenty seven sacks,
- 13:12Speaker 6: this year twenty seven sacks.
- 13:13Speaker 4: So right on part that last game hurt when it
- 13:15Speaker 4: came to sacks.
- 13:16Speaker 6: So far, when you compare him against other quarterbacks in
- 13:18Speaker 6: the league, he's eighteenth in complettion percentage. He's fifteenth in
- 13:21Speaker 6: yards seventeenth yards per game, nineteenth and QB rating, and
- 13:25Speaker 6: twentieth in qb R. Twenty five hundred, twelve touchdowns, eight
- 13:29Speaker 6: interceptions on the year. Now, the gauntlet continues against this
- 13:34Speaker 6: Cowboys defense.
- 13:35Speaker 4: At the end of the day.
- 13:36Speaker 6: On Thursday night, the Seahawks will I face four of
- 13:38Speaker 6: the top five defenses in the NFL. That's the Browns,
- 13:41Speaker 6: the Ravens, the Cowboys, and the Niners. I already told
- 13:45Speaker 6: you about told you about them. Cowboys man number three overall,
- 13:47Speaker 6: second against the past thirteenth and gets a run, fourth
- 13:49Speaker 6: in points allowed, and fourth in sacks. So it's gonna
- 13:53Speaker 6: be tough any way, slicly, it's gonna be tough for
- 13:55Speaker 6: in Dallas's prime time. They got a good defense. Gino
- 13:57Speaker 6: got to be on point. Yeah, man, I know it's
- 14:00Speaker 6: just hard.
- 14:00Speaker 5: Man, When you said that four of the top five
- 14:02Speaker 5: defenses in the NFL, is hardest people are being on
- 14:05Speaker 5: Geno in this offense. Well, when you're playing the best
- 14:08Speaker 5: defense in the league week after a week after week,
- 14:10Speaker 5: it's gonna be pretty hard. And you look at some
- 14:12Speaker 5: and again I'm not taking anything away from Dallas. They're
- 14:14Speaker 5: a really good football team, but if you look at
- 14:16Speaker 5: some of the teams that they've played and absolutely destroyed, Yeah,
- 14:18Speaker 5: you're gonna fluff your numbers. When you beat up on
- 14:21Speaker 5: the Giants twice, right, when you beat up on the Jets,
- 14:23Speaker 5: when you beat up on the Patriots. Those teams aren't
- 14:26Speaker 5: just bad, they're awful, you know what I'm saying. When
- 14:27Speaker 5: you beat up on the Rams are obviously proven better
- 14:30Speaker 5: with Stafford out there, but Stafford got hurt that game.
- 14:32Speaker 5: When you beat up on Carolina, who's won one game,
- 14:34Speaker 5: just fired their head coach, you know what I'm saying,
- 14:36Speaker 5: beat up on the commander. So again, I'm not taking
- 14:38Speaker 5: anything away from them. They're doing what they're supposed to
- 14:41Speaker 5: do against who they're playing. But you can really inflate
- 14:44Speaker 5: some of those numbers on offense, So we'll see what happens.
- 14:46Speaker 5: I think the caliber of team that the Seahawks have
- 14:49Speaker 5: been playing have impacted the Seahawks numbers, So I think
- 14:52Speaker 5: Gino will bounce back. There's He's got a full week
- 14:54Speaker 5: this week, which I'm I'm happy for, so hopefully he
- 14:56Speaker 5: bounced back there. Now looking at my favorite ma really
- 15:00Speaker 5: to watch this whole game. It's going to be DK
- 15:02Speaker 5: Tyler Jay San taking on Darron Bland and Stefan Gilmore.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Now, this is a tough matchup for the Hawks.
- 15:07Speaker 5: These two guys on the Cowboys slide are playing some
- 15:09Speaker 5: really good football. And you didn't think you'd get here
- 15:12Speaker 5: because at the beginning of the year, the Cowboys lost
- 15:14Speaker 5: two time Pro Bowl or Trayvon Diggs. He tours ACL
- 15:17Speaker 5: in practice after just two games. He looked pretty good
- 15:20Speaker 5: in those two games. We remember he was an All
- 15:21Speaker 5: Pro in twenty twenty one after a league high eleven picks.
- 15:25Speaker 5: So Diggs goes down. They turn their attention to Darron Bland.
- 15:28Speaker 5: They move him from nickel to outside. Now he's a
- 15:31Speaker 5: fifth round pick out of sax State. He's twenty four.
- 15:33Speaker 5: He hauled in five interceptions of the rookie and then,
- 15:37Speaker 5: despite like I said, switching positions, he's played even better.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Probably the best corner in the league right now. How
- 15:41Speaker 3: can I say not?
- 15:42Speaker 5: Nineteen point three pass rating allowed against him is the
- 15:45Speaker 5: lowest in the NFL among players with twenty five or
- 15:48Speaker 5: more pass attempts throwing their way. On Thanksgiving Day, he
- 15:51Speaker 5: put himself in the NFL history books, recording his fifth
- 15:54Speaker 5: pick six on Thanksgiving Day, breaking the record for most
- 15:57Speaker 5: in NFL history as a Cowboys blow the Commanders. Blands
- 16:01Speaker 5: only second season has the same number of pick six
- 16:03Speaker 5: is that Pro Hall Famers training Lane Ronnie Lott, Ken
- 16:07Speaker 5: Riley had their entire careers twelve interceptions lead the NFL
- 16:11Speaker 5: since his debut in twenty twenty. His seven interceptions are
- 16:14Speaker 5: career high this year and also lead the league this
- 16:16Speaker 5: year forty eight tackles, seven picks, five touchdowns, thirteen passes defended.
- 16:21Speaker 5: Here's the context though, that's really important. Richard Sherman is
- 16:26Speaker 5: going to be a Hall of famerh Darryl Reeves is
- 16:28Speaker 5: already in.
- 16:29Speaker 3: The Hall of Fame. Both them guys only had three picks.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Three That's crazy.
- 16:34Speaker 3: He It just blows my mind.
- 16:35Speaker 5: In The crazy thing about football, bump is he might
- 16:38Speaker 5: not have one for the rest of his career.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Right, that's his football play.
- 16:41Speaker 6: He might show up next year and be on the bubble,
- 16:45Speaker 6: you know what I mean, life, that's all crazy. This
- 16:47Speaker 6: game is so duron Man much respect. I appreciate what
- 16:51Speaker 6: he's doing over there. It's been fun to watch. I
- 16:53Speaker 6: just don't want to see it on Thursday.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:55Speaker 5: And then the last thing I'll say about the defensive
- 16:57Speaker 5: backs of the Cowboys fore you jump into the receivers.
- 17:00Speaker 5: Stefan Gilmore, five time Pro Bowler, two time All Pro,
- 17:03Speaker 5: twenty nineteen Defensive Player of the Year. He's been on
- 17:07Speaker 5: his thirteen last three seasons. Carolina Indy Dallas after a
- 17:10Speaker 5: four year run in New England. But he's thirty three. Oh,
- 17:12Speaker 5: he's playing some ball bump twelve year veterans having a
- 17:14Speaker 5: nice season, showing he's still got plenty left in the tank.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Forty tackles, two picks, ten passes defended, and they're calling
- 17:20Speaker 5: him essentially the Yoda, the guru out there for these
- 17:22Speaker 5: young defensive backs, and it's obviously rubbing off because they're
- 17:25Speaker 5: playing some good football.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 6: Man, when he was a free agent, I was interested.
- 17:28Speaker 6: I thought the Hawks might take a look at him.
- 17:30Speaker 6: But I like who we got, man, I like what
- 17:32Speaker 6: we got? Should I talk about our receivers?
- 17:35Speaker 3: I think so?
- 17:35Speaker 4: All right, let's do it.
- 17:36Speaker 6: We got DK, we got lock Of, we got Jassim Man.
- 17:38Speaker 6: These guys, they're still looking for their first one hundred
- 17:41Speaker 6: yard game since DK did it Week three versus Carolina.
- 17:46Speaker 6: At DK's current pace, he should break the thousand yard
- 17:48Speaker 6: mark with one thousand and eighty.
- 17:50Speaker 4: He's averaging sixty seven yards per game.
- 17:52Speaker 6: At Tyler Locket's current pace, he'll be short of a
- 17:54Speaker 6: thousand yards, So you know, he's got some things to do.
- 17:56Speaker 4: He's on track to get about eight hundred.
- 17:58Speaker 6: And eighty seven yards, averaging fifty two yards per game.
- 18:01Speaker 6: That's the lowest average is twenty seventeen. I also think
- 18:04Speaker 6: that's because there's more weapons right at. JSN gets the
- 18:07Speaker 6: tight ends involved, so that that effects there. Tyler also
- 18:11Speaker 6: has had four straight at thousand yard seasons, so I
- 18:13Speaker 6: hope he gets that right. Man, we need a couple
- 18:14Speaker 6: of big games out of Locket. Why not start on Thursday.
- 18:17Speaker 6: On the year, DK has forty three receptions, six seventy
- 18:20Speaker 6: eight and three touchdowns, Tyle Lockett fifty four receptions, five
- 18:24Speaker 6: seventy five and four touchdowns, and JSN has thirty eight receptions,
- 18:28Speaker 6: four into the six yards and two touchdowns.
- 18:30Speaker 4: All right, let's transition.
- 18:32Speaker 6: Let's talk about Cede Lamb, the marquee receiver over there
- 18:36Speaker 6: versus the Seahawks secondary ceedee. Lamb is statistically one of
- 18:40Speaker 6: the best receivers in the NFL and on pace to
- 18:43Speaker 6: finish with career highs and receiving yards and receptions. Lamb
- 18:46Speaker 6: is in his fourth season after being a first round
- 18:49Speaker 6: pick in twenty twenty out of Oklahoma. He has over
- 18:52Speaker 6: one thousand yards on the season for his third consecutive season. Man,
- 18:58Speaker 6: it's a sneaky. One thousand for three yards at three
- 19:00Speaker 6: is in a row. Because when I think a ceed lamb,
- 19:02Speaker 6: I think of a route runner, I think a possession receiver.
- 19:04Speaker 6: That number surprised me, honestly. He has one thousand and
- 19:07Speaker 6: sixty six receiving yards. That's third in the NFL. His
- 19:10Speaker 6: fifth in receptions with seventy eight. He has five one
- 19:13Speaker 6: hundred yards receiving games, including a career high one ninety
- 19:16Speaker 6: one versus Philly on the year, seventy eight receptions, one
- 19:19Speaker 6: thousand and sixty six yards and six touchdowns. You got
- 19:22Speaker 6: to look after that, dude. What about Brandon Cooks? I
- 19:25Speaker 6: like this dude.
- 19:26Speaker 5: Yeah, man, he's another guy that continued. You know, CD
- 19:29Speaker 5: gets all the I wouldn't say hype or the credit,
- 19:31Speaker 5: but most eyes are on him. But Brandon Cooks is
- 19:34Speaker 5: still doing his thing. This year's he got thirty three
- 19:36Speaker 5: receptions on forty eight targets, four hundred and fifty two yards,
- 19:39Speaker 5: four touchdowns. A couple other guys you got to look
- 19:41Speaker 5: out for their tight end. Jack Ferguson forty receptions, four
- 19:44Speaker 5: hundred and twenty one yards, four touchdowns on fifty eight targets.
- 19:47Speaker 5: And then Michael Gallup can't sleep on him either. Twenty
- 19:50Speaker 5: eight receptions, three hundred fifty seven yards, one touchdown, So.
- 19:53Speaker 1: They share the love.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Mal.
- 19:55Speaker 5: There's a reason Dak's putting up the numbers because he's
- 19:57Speaker 5: got guys to throw to. I know, for a while,
- 19:58Speaker 5: I was thinking, wow, they really mess sub letting the.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Marie Cooper go. But these boys still produce. Now.
- 20:05Speaker 5: Defensively for the Hawks, after allowing one hundred yard receiver
- 20:07Speaker 5: in each of the first three games the season, the
- 20:09Speaker 5: Hawks have only allowed one one hundred yard receivers since
- 20:13Speaker 5: Week three. That was a running back, so they're doing
- 20:16Speaker 5: well containing stuff on the outside. Devin Witherspoon six passes
- 20:20Speaker 5: defended in the last four games and has fourteen on
- 20:22Speaker 5: the season. That is fourth in the National Football League.
- 20:25Speaker 5: As a team, the Seahawks have fifty four passes defended,
- 20:27Speaker 5: which is eighth in the NFL. Hawks are twenty second
- 20:30Speaker 5: in the league against the pass. They're gonna need to
- 20:32Speaker 5: be active this week. I'm waiting for It's been a
- 20:34Speaker 5: couple of weeks since we've got a turnover from Spoon. Right,
- 20:37Speaker 5: he plays active. He's a guy that I think can
- 20:39Speaker 5: shut people down. You were talking to him on the huddle.
- 20:42Speaker 5: He's instinctual wise instinctual because he watches fat film film
- 20:46Speaker 5: No Lie Bump.
- 20:47Speaker 3: So we need him to play with that energy. And
- 20:49Speaker 3: they need to have their best game.
- 20:50Speaker 5: That includes Quandre, that includes Trey, that includes Rieke Wooland
- 20:53Speaker 5: because they're going to be under pressure all game.
- 20:55Speaker 6: Long, lock them up. Come on, I'll put hands on them.
- 20:58Speaker 6: So now this is one dude, you really got to
- 20:59Speaker 6: lock them in. As Michael Parsons, he might be, he's
- 21:01Speaker 6: like the top three four defender in the league. Man,
- 21:03Speaker 6: it's crazy, man. He's lived up to the hype.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Man.
- 21:07Speaker 6: He was selected twelfth overall in the twenty twenty one draft,
- 21:09Speaker 6: and he's been doing his thame. His rookie season, he
- 21:11Speaker 6: was first team All Pro in one AP Defensive Rookie
- 21:14Speaker 6: of the Year. That year, he had eighty four tackles,
- 21:16Speaker 6: thirteen sacks, twenty TFLs, thirty quarterback hits man in three passes,
- 21:21Speaker 6: defending three force fumbles.
- 21:22Speaker 4: That's a crazy stat line.
- 21:23Speaker 6: He fought that up with another All Pro season in
- 21:25Speaker 6: twenty twenty two, finishing eighth and MVP voting and second
- 21:28Speaker 6: in Defensive Player of the Year voting. He had sixty
- 21:30Speaker 6: five tackles, thirteen and a half sacks, twenty six QB, hit,
- 21:33Speaker 6: thirteen TFLs, three passes defended in three force fumbles.
- 21:36Speaker 4: This season, he continues to do his thing.
- 21:38Speaker 6: In eleven games, he's got forty tackles, eleven and a
- 21:40Speaker 6: half sacks, twenty three qb his two passes defended, and
- 21:43Speaker 6: one force fumble. The Seahos will face another elite pass
- 21:46Speaker 6: rusher right after going against Nick Bosa. This dude's gonna
- 21:50Speaker 6: get paid when it's time. He might he's gonna be
- 21:52Speaker 6: the highest paidue in the league when it's time for
- 21:53Speaker 6: him to get paid. He keeps putting up these numbers. Man.
- 21:56Speaker 4: The Seahawks.
- 21:56Speaker 6: The allowed six sacs last week against San Francisco, so
- 21:59Speaker 6: it's like, all right, here you go. You got another
- 22:02Speaker 6: challenge and Mike and don't forget man. Chase Young was
- 22:05Speaker 6: last last week too. Armstead was last week too, So
- 22:09Speaker 6: they just can't catch a break, man. So it's gonna
- 22:10Speaker 6: be a tough one, but we'll see how they do.
- 22:12Speaker 6: We mentioned they have allowed twenty seven sacks in the
- 22:14Speaker 6: NFL this year.
- 22:15Speaker 4: That's eleventh best in the league.
- 22:17Speaker 6: And hopefully you might get Abe Lucas back to help
- 22:20Speaker 6: you against that guy, Parsons, because you need all the
- 22:23Speaker 6: help we can get.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Man, that's a gauntlet right there.
- 22:25Speaker 5: You just talk about for the offensive line, you talked
- 22:28Speaker 5: about everyone for San Francisco, then you talk about the Cowboys,
- 22:30Speaker 5: everyone for San Francisco again, and then you talk about
- 22:32Speaker 5: the Eagles. Those are three elite defensive lines and Michael Parsons.
- 22:37Speaker 5: If Bosa didn't play out of his freaking mind last year, also,
- 22:40Speaker 5: he would have been Defensive Player of the Year, right.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I mean, holy smokes.
- 22:43Speaker 5: I you know, I don't envy you, Charles Cross and
- 22:46Speaker 5: Abe Lucas and Jason Peters and so and forth.
- 22:48Speaker 4: I envy. I envied at that bank account though that
- 22:50Speaker 4: do envy that?
- 22:51Speaker 5: Well, yes, it looks different than mine, the way mine
- 22:54Speaker 5: set up, But no thing. If Abe comes back, I
- 22:58Speaker 5: really hope you can, because he'll really he brings an attitude,
- 23:01Speaker 5: in a toughness and a physicalness that this online needs
- 23:04Speaker 5: right now. So I'm hoping he's able to make it back.
- 23:06Speaker 5: We we'll see on Thursday, but there's optimism in this
- 23:10Speaker 5: room right now. We're gonna tell you how the Seahaws
- 23:12Speaker 5: are can get this done. Path of victory come on.
- 23:16Speaker 2: After forty five waits for the snaff, Michael Vickxon puts
- 23:19Speaker 2: it down.
- 23:20Speaker 3: That kick is away, and that kick.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Is gone to stay off.
- 23:24Speaker 1: When it's gone, it's a path to victory.
- 23:27Speaker 5: On Hawk Talk, game number two of this four game
- 23:30Speaker 5: Gauntlin for the Seahawks and for me, bump it's offense man.
- 23:33Speaker 5: The offense needs to break out of this slump. They
- 23:35Speaker 5: haven't scored more than thirty points since Week three, and
- 23:38Speaker 5: they've only scored more than twenty five points one time
- 23:41Speaker 5: in the last eight weeks.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Why is that? It's third downs?
- 23:44Speaker 5: The Hawks are only converting thirty one percent of third downs,
- 23:47Speaker 5: which is thirty three the NFL. And we know that's
- 23:49Speaker 5: not gonna be good enough when you face teams like this,
- 23:52Speaker 5: and the Seahawks have the guys to get it done.
- 23:54Speaker 5: But it starts there, and obviously, you know, to be
- 23:56Speaker 5: good on third down, it starts with first and second down.
- 23:58Speaker 5: So the Seahawks really can't get behind the sticks early
- 24:00Speaker 5: can have pre snat penalties. They really need to get
- 24:03Speaker 5: ahead early to make those third in shorts third and
- 24:06Speaker 5: manageable to be able to stay on the field.
- 24:08Speaker 4: All right, they need to run that rock too.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Man.
- 24:10Speaker 6: The Hawks have had one hundred yard rusher since Week seven.
- 24:13Speaker 6: I'm gonna guarantee you I'm gonna go on a limb
- 24:14Speaker 6: and said I was Ken Walker as it was okay,
- 24:17Speaker 6: there we go. They also need bigger games from DK,
- 24:20Speaker 6: Tyler Lockett and JSN. Jayson did have a nice one
- 24:23Speaker 6: hand cash, but let's get I'd rather have about six catches,
- 24:26Speaker 6: seventy five yards and a touchdown any day of the week.
- 24:28Speaker 4: I'm on defensive.
- 24:29Speaker 6: Seahawks are facing the league's number one scoring offense, all right,
- 24:33Speaker 6: and the number four offense when it comes to yards
- 24:36Speaker 6: per game.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Needless to say, the strength of this team is the defense.
- 24:39Speaker 6: The defense needs to show up life they've been doing
- 24:42Speaker 6: for the most part and get some help from that offense.
- 24:45Speaker 5: No question about it. This is they're gonna have to
- 24:46Speaker 5: play their best game of the year. Dallas has won
- 24:48Speaker 5: thirteen in a row, so we do what we can
- 24:50Speaker 5: to jinx that at home, and it's gonna be hard.
- 24:53Speaker 5: It's gonna be hard to go down there and avoid
- 24:54Speaker 5: a three game losing streak. The Seahawks have lost you
- 24:57Speaker 5: games in a row, but historically they do not lose
- 25:00Speaker 5: back to back games often. I think Pete Carroll's forty
- 25:02Speaker 5: four to twenty in his tenure. So it can be done.
- 25:05Speaker 5: It can be done. The Seahawks just need to take
- 25:07Speaker 5: it one series at a time. I'm speaking in existence.
- 25:11Speaker 5: That streak will continue. The Cowboys will not beat a
- 25:14Speaker 5: team over five hundred because the Seahaws are in a
- 25:16Speaker 5: shocked the world and the most Seahawks fashion possible. Get
- 25:18Speaker 5: a tough win on the road, set them into their
- 25:20Speaker 5: mini bye week. Have the weekend off, get ready to
- 25:22Speaker 5: get after those forty nine ers the following week.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Reminder, you can hear us everywhere Seahawks dot Com, Apple Podcast, Spotify,
- 25:28Speaker 3: series XM, and more. If you will steen on.
- 25:30Speaker 5: Apple, don't forget to rate us five stars. We appreciate
- 25:33Speaker 5: the love. He's Michael Bumpus. I'm Nasa Choby. The Seahawks
- 25:36Speaker 5: taking on the Cowboys on Thursday. Pregame show starts on
- 25:39Speaker 5: your airwaves at two pm. Hoping for a big one.
- 25:42Speaker 5: Speaking of existance, Seahawks can get it done. Hopefully we'll
- 25:45Speaker 5: talk to you next week about a Cowboys lost in
- 25:47Speaker 5: Seahawks victory. Until next time, I'm Nasa Chroby. He's Michael Bumpus.
- 25:51Speaker 5: This has been hop talk,
