• 0:17
SPEAKER_01: Don't they also have as another pool option, and I don't know if I'm correct on this, but I you might know the answer.
• 0:22
SPEAKER_01: Doesn't the Elmira Country Club have it where you can go swim there?
• 0:26
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, yes, there's a fee.
• 0:28
  SPEAKER_01: I'm not sure.
• 0:29
  SPEAKER_01: They have a pool.
• 0:30
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 0:30
SPEAKER_00: And I'm not sure how that works if you because I don't know if you have to be a big member.
• 0:35
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you can just I don't know how that works.
• 0:38
SPEAKER_00: But they do have a pool.
• 0:38
SPEAKER_00: I I got invited there one time years ago from remember Bill and Karen who used to live around the corner?
• 0:43
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 0:44
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 0:44
SPEAKER_00: Well, because they were members.
• 0:46
  SPEAKER_00: I was not.
• 0:48
SPEAKER_01: In Corning, Denison Pool hasn't been opening years.
• 0:51
SPEAKER_01: I got beef about that.
• 0:52
SPEAKER_01: We'll talk about that eventually.
• 0:53
SPEAKER_01: Because I got more beef on that.
• 0:54
SPEAKER_00: Um, you found out more?
• 0:56
  SPEAKER_01: No, I just I I'll tell you in a second.
• 0:58
SPEAKER_01: Because I want to get to the Circle K thing.
• 1:00
SPEAKER_01: But where in Corning can we swim?
• 1:03
SPEAKER_01: Uh I guess the Shimong.
• 1:05
SPEAKER_00: Oh, well, then that's a good time.
• 1:07
  SPEAKER_01: Right, exactly.
• 1:08
SPEAKER_00: I'd go lay on a rock and uh see how that feels.
• 1:11
SPEAKER_01: We do have Seneca, we do have Cucka, we do have K Yuga.
• 1:14
SPEAKER_01: It's not like we're we're totally lacking in water.
• 1:17
SPEAKER_01: I'm just thinking like a nice pool.
• 1:19
SPEAKER_00: But one of the pools that yeah, because I remember when I lived out there, I used to go to Craig Park Pool with Megan.
• 1:25
  unknown: Oh.
• 1:25
SPEAKER_00: And that was a great pool back in painted post.
• 1:28
  SPEAKER_00: It was back.
• 1:28
SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's been gone for years.
• 1:30
SPEAKER_00: I think they filled it in, actually.
• 1:32
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:32
SPEAKER_00: But that was a great pool.
• 1:34
  SPEAKER_01: I don't even know.
• 1:35
  SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
• 1:36
SPEAKER_01: What happened to Circle K?
• 1:37
SPEAKER_00: Let's dust off our moral compass on this one.
• 1:39
SPEAKER_00: You guys tell me what you think on this.
• 1:41
SPEAKER_00: A Circle K uh store clerk uh it alleges that he found uh or he followed company policy, I'm sorry, amid a legal battle over who rightfully owns a winning lottery ticket worth$12.8 million.
• 1:58
SPEAKER_00: Let me just tell you, the only reason this is in courts is because it's$12.8 million.
• 2:02
SPEAKER_00: If it was$50, you would never have heard the story.
• 2:05
SPEAKER_00: But Circle K filed a complaint against the store clerk in, so it's it's the company that did this in February, accusing him of trying to cash in the winning lottery ticket that a customer left behind at the store on November 24th, 2025.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_00: According to the report on this, uh, the customer bought multiple tickets for the pick lottery game, whatever, in which players must match six numbers on the ticket uh to the six numbers that are called.
• 2:36
SPEAKER_00: According to the complaint, per the outlet, Circle K, the uh the clerk reportedly printed uh$85 worth of tickets, but the customer only paid for$60 worth, leaving$25 worth of tickets on the counter.
• 2:52
SPEAKER_00: So they were he overprinted, customer wanted$60, now you got, you know, an extra set of tickets.
• 2:58
SPEAKER_00: What,$25 worth of tickets just sort of sitting there?
• 3:01
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 3:02
SPEAKER_00: But the customer only paid, like I said, for the$60.
• 3:04
SPEAKER_00: So anyway, the remaining tickets were left uh uh unattended in the store until the next morning.
• 3:11
SPEAKER_00: And the winning numbers were called.
• 3:14
SPEAKER_00: So the clerk clocked out uh of work that same day and purchased the abandoned tickets from the uh from an employee.
• 3:23
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so literally they were off the clock.
• 3:25
SPEAKER_00: He clocked out, went over, said, Okay, Allie, you stay clocked in.
• 3:29
SPEAKER_00: I need to purchase these tickets.
• 3:30
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 3:31
SPEAKER_01: We I used to work for a convenient food mart, and I was 15, 16 years old.
• 3:35
SPEAKER_01: We were also allowed to buy lottery tickets, but in that same fashion.
• 3:39
SPEAKER_00: You had to be clocked out.
• 3:41
SPEAKER_01: Had to be clocked out.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_01: Somebody else had to check you out.
• 3:43
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 3:44
SPEAKER_00: So moving on with this, the lawsuit alleges that the outlet's uh uh and the clerk's attorney uh claim that his uh his client allowed a followed store policy, which requires, like you said, you know, you clock out, you go from there.
• 3:59
  SPEAKER_00: Uh let's see here.
• 4:00
SPEAKER_01: And now he's$12 million richer, right?
• 4:03
  SPEAKER_00: Yup, exactly.
• 4:03
SPEAKER_01: I really don't think that this store circle.
• 4:05
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, I know.
• 4:06
SPEAKER_00: Oh, by the way, Arizona lottery is currently holding the winnings while this legal case continues.
• 4:10
SPEAKER_00: So it's not like he has it and he can disappear.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_00: Oh, because I was thinking I'm sure Circle K has a lot of money, but yeah, but wouldn't 12 million help out that company even more?
• 4:19
SPEAKER_01: Well, yes, but I was thinking this guy could fight it, but I would hate to win the lottery and have to fight it with the money I just won.
• 4:25
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 4:26
SPEAKER_00: I mean, it would be a fraction of the money you won.
• 4:28
SPEAKER_01: He didn't know that it was the winner.
• 4:31
SPEAKER_00: No, he did, I think.
• 4:33
SPEAKER_00: Because think about the timeline, no, think about think about the timeline.
• 4:36
SPEAKER_00: So the numbers had already been called.
• 4:38
SPEAKER_00: So the customer the day before bought six All right, let me see.
• 4:42
  SPEAKER_00: Clerk prints 85 tickets.
• 4:44
SPEAKER_00: Clerk wants 60, customer takes 60, buy out the door.
• 4:47
  SPEAKER_00: Here's the remaining$25 worth of tickets.
• 4:50
SPEAKER_00: They sat on the counter overnight, came in the next day, there was a lottery.
• 4:53
SPEAKER_01: Oh, and I'm sure he checked, I'm sure he checked the numbers.
• 4:55
  SPEAKER_00: Sure thing.
• 4:56
  SPEAKER_00: He did, yeah.
• 4:57
SPEAKER_01: He still did the right thing.
• 4:58
  SPEAKER_00: He checked out.
• 4:59
SPEAKER_00: Uh he clocked out of work.
• 5:01
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I think he should have the the the 12 million.
• 5:03
SPEAKER_00: The only sketchy part to this story is he was able to verify that there was a winner sitting there.
• 5:11
SPEAKER_00: Like he didn't, you know.
• 5:12
SPEAKER_00: That was the only thing.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_01: He looked through every single one of those tickets.
• 5:16
SPEAKER_00: Put him under that red light that never reads a lottery ticket for me when I try.
• 5:19
  SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
• 5:19
  SPEAKER_00: You know the ones.
• 5:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 5:22
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, I still think he's right.
• 5:23
SPEAKER_01: He's right to have the 12 million.
• 5:25
  SPEAKER_01: I do too.
• 5:25
SPEAKER_01: And I wish I was his best friend.
• 5:26
SPEAKER_00: I well, you better expect that other clerk that stayed clocked in to get something out of it.
• 5:31
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
• 5:32
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, of course.
• 5:32
SPEAKER_01: They would they would get something.
• 5:33
SPEAKER_01: Maybe not a ton, but as long as you got my body.
• 5:36
SPEAKER_00: I'll throw you a mil for doing me that favor because I've already checked the tickets.
• 5:39
  SPEAKER_00: Maybe not a million.
• 5:40
  SPEAKER_01: That's a lot.
• 5:40
  SPEAKER_00: It's 12.
• 5:41
  SPEAKER_00: You can't spare one.
• 5:42
  SPEAKER_00: Well, whatever.
• 5:43
SPEAKER_00: I know you got$5 in your account until tomorrow when we get paid.
• 5:45
  SPEAKER_01: Six.
• 5:46
  SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
• 5:46
  SPEAKER_01: Six.
• 5:46
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, you're$6.32.
• 5:49
  SPEAKER_01: Thank you very much.
• 5:50
  SPEAKER_00: Held on.
• 5:50
  SPEAKER_00: All right.
• 5:51
  SPEAKER_00: So I'm in agreement.
• 5:52
  SPEAKER_00: You're in agreement.
• 5:53
SPEAKER_00: This guy followed the policy.
• 5:55
SPEAKER_00: Are you guys in agreement?
• 5:56
SPEAKER_00: Little shaky with the, you know.
• 5:58
  SPEAKER_00: But here's the thing.
• 6:00
SPEAKER_00: The night before that he left the tickets on the counter, he had no idea there was going to be a win.
• 6:04
SPEAKER_00: He walked into it at whatever time they open the Circle K.
• 6:08
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, oh, let me just bounce through these.
• 6:10
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm sure.
• 6:11
SPEAKER_00: I'm sure there's people that do that leave.
• 6:13
SPEAKER_00: I would be shocked if you're a clerk at a convenience store and someone just drops off tickets they thought lost that you don't rescan them and just check to see.
• 6:21
SPEAKER_00: Is there a fiver in here?
• 6:23
SPEAKER_01: Also, when it comes to uh the the footage, I wonder if it shows him scanning it and seeing that it was a winner.
• 6:31
SPEAKER_00: You better have a good poker face.
• 6:34
SPEAKER_00: Well, if I suddenly scanned a$12 million ticket, I'd be like, oh my god, get over here.
• 6:40
SPEAKER_00: This guy's gotta like have all the restraint in the world.
• 6:43
  SPEAKER_00: All right.
• 6:44
SPEAKER_00: Whose side are you on?
