- 0:01Speaker 1: Keeping you in chart, keeping us playing on the pig
- 0:05Speaker 1: in your head, and it's on hit arts, playing diverse.
- 0:11Speaker 2: No right, no.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Power, then yeah you're gaming man alrights.
- 0:22Speaker 4: So many cool stories.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Yeah, go ahead you, But what's going on everybody? Enough
- 0:29Speaker 3: of Wookie's old man stories. I got so many old
- 0:31Speaker 3: man stories.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I'm an old man. You know what they say about
- 0:35Speaker 1: old dogs, can't teach him new tricks? No, no, no,
- 0:40Speaker 1: that they're retired and they deserve to do nothing.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I am not quite. Oh I didn't hit
- 0:45Speaker 3: some to you guys. I am so sorry. You guys
- 0:47Speaker 3: are probably like, what show notes.
- 0:50Speaker 1: My pad gotta hit? We're recording tonight? What?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Yeah, we're recording right now. But what's going on? Everybody?
- 0:55Speaker 3: I'm the one, the only, the w o o kay
- 0:57Speaker 3: i e And you can obviously here in the background.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I had found myself some new misfits. The whole show's
- 1:04Speaker 3: worth the misfits. In fact, we got my Hero's guide
- 1:07Speaker 3: to as Gartha. Both Chili and Nico hanging out with
- 1:11Speaker 3: me today Because well, as some of you may know
- 1:14Speaker 3: and probably actually watch today, you're hearing this a week later.
- 1:18Speaker 3: But Cole's in France and unfortunately Felix is. I don't
- 1:23Speaker 3: know where Felix is. He says he wasn't in Texas.
- 1:25Speaker 3: He was away from home. And like I was telling
- 1:28Speaker 3: these fine gentlemen, Dexter is an eighteen year old child.
- 1:32Speaker 3: So it's Friday night. He could be doing literally anything
- 1:37Speaker 3: but being on a podcast.
- 1:39Speaker 1: That's what I'm assuming he's doing. Commander.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Yeah, do you know what the craziest thing of all
- 1:44Speaker 4: this man is like, this is the first time that
- 1:49Speaker 4: Cole has been out of the country. That is wild
- 1:53Speaker 4: to me.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Really, I've never I've never ever been outside the country.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Way even I would assume you you would have had
- 2:02Speaker 4: to play in key Forge. No, I've never been going
- 2:05Speaker 4: to some of the nationals, international Games.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 2:08Speaker 3: No, never been.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Okay, So.
- 2:12Speaker 3: I've been to other states, like I just I was
- 2:14Speaker 3: in Baltimore. I Baltimore had the Altered Invitational there. Oh yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 3: I was there the month previous for the key Forge
- 2:24Speaker 3: Vault Tour. So I've been to a couple of states,
- 2:28Speaker 3: like chicag I was in Illinois. That's really not that
- 2:31Speaker 3: far away. That's really just a state away. Obviously, we
- 2:34Speaker 3: go to Minnesota every year for key Forge celebration. I
- 2:39Speaker 3: was in Baltimore. I haven't got anywhere else. That's that's
- 2:42Speaker 3: about it.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Not even not even Canada. You've never crossed over to Canada.
- 2:45Speaker 4: You're like so close.
- 2:47Speaker 3: So there was a thought this year if we did
- 2:50Speaker 3: not have our invites by the time the Canadian nationals
- 2:55Speaker 3: rolled around, but we might go. But both me and
- 3:00Speaker 3: the person willing to travel to Canada both have an invite,
- 3:05Speaker 3: so there's no there was no need to go.
- 3:08Speaker 4: So well that that's still wild for me. And maybe
- 3:10Speaker 4: it's more America being so huge, whereas in Australia you
- 3:14Speaker 4: always travel international like most people do. Of course, you know,
- 3:17Speaker 4: income dependent for sure, right, but most people do have
- 3:20Speaker 4: the chance to travel a lot more. And guess myself,
- 3:24Speaker 4: I guess like I grew up in so many countries.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Right, But think about it too, like like the US
- 3:29Speaker 3: is like like Illinois could be another like country right
- 3:33Speaker 3: in Europe, right, Like it's we're just split up different
- 3:37Speaker 3: so like states are like countries. This is a very American,
- 3:41Speaker 3: you know, first world problem. But oh travel it's insane, Yeah, no,
- 3:47Speaker 3: it's insane.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Like you're talking to a number of the players that
- 3:50Speaker 4: are at Worlds right now, They're like, yeah, I'm catching
- 3:52Speaker 4: the train to Paris for the weekend, right, or I'm
- 3:54Speaker 4: going to Italy. They could go to all these different
- 3:57Speaker 4: qualifiers and just go for the weekend to travel, and
- 4:00Speaker 4: it's so cheap. And I guess travel here is cheap
- 4:03Speaker 4: as well, Like if you think if flight's cheap, train
- 4:06Speaker 4: is not surprisingly really but yeah, like at least anyway
- 4:13Speaker 4: on the West coast, there's not much trains anyway on
- 4:15Speaker 4: the East coast, there definitely is, and all of them
- 4:19Speaker 4: are private lines, so therefore they charge a lot more.
- 4:21Speaker 4: They're not owned by one company.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Because obviously we get to sure, we get to talk
- 4:27Speaker 3: to a lot of the a lot of the internationals.
- 4:30Speaker 3: They'll come to the keyboard celebration, like yeah, they'll like
- 4:33Speaker 3: a lot of those same people that they'll hit all
- 4:36Speaker 3: of all the internationals, right, So you'll see you'll see
- 4:40Speaker 3: a lot of the Italians over in the UK. A
- 4:43Speaker 3: lot of the UK players will be in Germany, you know,
- 4:46Speaker 3: the Polish, the Dutch, or they'll they'll be like all
- 4:49Speaker 3: over right, So it's more of like a states trip
- 4:52Speaker 3: for them as opposed to us, where it's a lot
- 4:55Speaker 3: I think that I know of I've only know of
- 4:58Speaker 3: two people that have traveled internationally for a Vault tour.
- 5:04Speaker 3: One was z As some of you may remember, Ze
- 5:08Speaker 3: traveled to Germany, I believe for one of the Vault tours,
- 5:15Speaker 3: and then Doctor Sheep on our show currently last year,
- 5:19Speaker 3: decided too that he was going to take his wife
- 5:22Speaker 3: on a vacation to Spain. It just so happened to
- 5:28Speaker 3: a Vault tour was also happening.
- 5:31Speaker 4: That sounds like what Nick would do, like he'd go
- 5:34Speaker 4: somewhere and because there was something happening, or like Japan, right,
- 5:38Speaker 4: Japan was a trip like that for you Nick, when
- 5:40Speaker 4: you went there because you wanted to see the Pokemon.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Part of it was to see Pokemon, right.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so yeah, that's cool. My wife and I
- 5:48Speaker 1: went on ear So this is for everybody who's not
- 5:50Speaker 1: listening to our podcast normally, my wife and I went
- 5:53Speaker 1: on our honeymoon to Japan. We spent a week there
- 5:56Speaker 1: and my wife was mostly going because she has a
- 6:00Speaker 1: bucket list to visit every international Disney oh so, which
- 6:05Speaker 1: is a pretty good bust. Look, Yeah, I was going
- 6:09Speaker 1: to check out the Pokemon store, which the one that
- 6:12Speaker 1: we went to was kind of crazy because it had
- 6:16Speaker 1: the Pokemon Center, the Nintendo store, the Bandai store, and
- 6:19Speaker 1: the Capcom store all in like one floor of the
- 6:21Speaker 1: small that we went to see. Yeah, the the main
- 6:27Speaker 1: reason why I went though, is for the Japanese shrines.
- 6:31Speaker 1: So for everybody who's not aware, Japan is a Shinto
- 6:36Speaker 1: primarily Shinto country, right, that's like the main religion is
- 6:40Speaker 1: Shintoism with you know a lot of Buddhism and what
- 6:44Speaker 1: have you. So there are a lot of different shrines
- 6:47Speaker 1: to Shinto gods in Japan. And fun fact, the way
- 6:52Speaker 1: that you can tell where the shrines are is you
- 6:54Speaker 1: have to look for the trees. If you just if
- 6:57Speaker 1: you look anywhere and you just see like a big
- 7:00Speaker 1: tree growing out of the city, more than likely there's
- 7:03Speaker 1: a Shinto shrine there more often than not. So I
- 7:06Speaker 1: went because at certain shrines you can buy what's called
- 7:10Speaker 1: a goshuincho, which is a book. Because each well, major shrine,
- 7:15Speaker 1: I say, you know, very loosely, some of the smaller
- 7:18Speaker 1: ones that have them too, but you can buy what's
- 7:20Speaker 1: called a goshuin which is like a stamp that says
- 7:24Speaker 1: this is the shrine that you were at. You know,
- 7:27Speaker 1: it's to this day.
- 7:29Speaker 4: It's the original.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Yeah, they're for pilgrims. They're pilgrim stands basically, So that's
- 7:35Speaker 1: the that's the main reason I went. I wanted to
- 7:37Speaker 1: go visit as many shrines as possible, get as many
- 7:40Speaker 1: goshu in as I could. I bought a goshill from
- 7:42Speaker 1: the Meiji Jingu in downtown Tokyo, and yeah, it was
- 7:47Speaker 1: probably one of the best experiences of my life. It
- 7:49Speaker 1: was so much fun. It was so cool.
- 7:52Speaker 3: So there's three place if you ever.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Get a chance to go, wiki it's amazing.
- 7:55Speaker 3: There's three places in the world I do want to go.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Japan is one of them. Vietnam is another one.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Oh, I've heard great things about Vietnam.
- 8:05Speaker 3: I really only want to go to both of these
- 8:07Speaker 3: places for food. I literally want to, yeah, like a
- 8:11Speaker 3: week there and do nothing but eat.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Do you want to know something? And I have a
- 8:20Speaker 1: friend of mine who just got back from Japan. He
- 8:23Speaker 1: went with his daughter and his sister and he's like
- 8:27Speaker 1: super big fitness buff right, like, goes to the gym
- 8:30Speaker 1: even on vacation. I do the same thing, but I'm
- 8:33Speaker 1: just not that big into like how my body looks.
- 8:36Speaker 1: He went and he was like, I ate more food
- 8:39Speaker 1: on vacation than I ever have in my entire life.
- 8:43Speaker 1: And he said he weighed himself when he got back
- 8:44Speaker 1: and he would lost two pounds. That's crazy. Yeah, So
- 8:50Speaker 1: you want to go potentially and enjoy yourself without having
- 8:54Speaker 1: to worry about, you know, gaining weight. Do it in Japan?
- 8:57Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 9:00Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 9:00Speaker 4: What was the third one? So Vietnam?
- 9:02Speaker 3: End I want to go to Australia, believe it or.
- 9:05Speaker 4: You know, you know what you know? I can help
- 9:08Speaker 4: you out with that one. You need any point as connections,
- 9:12Speaker 4: you know, man, I am here to help out.
- 9:14Speaker 3: I don't know why I thought you were going to
- 9:15Speaker 3: say something like no, keep going now, I'm interested, sing no, no, no, no.
- 9:23Speaker 3: I want to Vietnam, Japan, I want to get and
- 9:27Speaker 3: uh and and Australia. Why I want to go there?
- 9:35Speaker 3: But before before I ever wanted to go to Japan
- 9:41Speaker 3: and Vietnam, it was always Australia. There's something out there
- 9:44Speaker 3: that just like I'm drawn to it, right and yeah,
- 9:52Speaker 3: I'm not an outdoorsy person, right like I stay inside
- 9:57Speaker 3: most of the time. Just you see that that big
- 10:00Speaker 3: what's that that building you see all the time, Like
- 10:02Speaker 3: whenever they talk about us the house, Yeah, whenever you
- 10:05Speaker 3: see theer yea to go there, and I don't know why.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Look, I'll say I miss side City that's in Cities,
- 10:14Speaker 4: so that's where that's where home was for me, and
- 10:15Speaker 4: I miss it. I miss taking the ferry into work,
- 10:18Speaker 4: over the ocean, over the river, and you're coming into
- 10:21Speaker 4: the harbor. It is absolutely gorgeous. But you know, I, yeah,
- 10:26Speaker 4: you definitely have to go. It is a very expensive trip,
- 10:29Speaker 4: not just that it's fourteen our minimum direct flight if
- 10:33Speaker 4: you're going from LA so that that hurts. That hurts
- 10:36Speaker 4: if you're not used to the jet lag.
- 10:39Speaker 3: We have one t Forage player. He made the trip
- 10:42Speaker 3: last year to the States for for gear Forge celebration.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I don't think he's coming this year, but he made
- 10:50Speaker 3: the trip last year and he said the flight was
- 10:53Speaker 3: was brutal. I'm like, I can imagine.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Yeah, especially if he's going to the East coast. You've
- 10:59Speaker 4: got a forty now flight then and then you wait
- 11:02Speaker 4: for the next flight and then another four our flight.
- 11:04Speaker 4: That's a that's a rough one.
- 11:06Speaker 3: I'm not sure how he did it. He just said
- 11:08Speaker 3: it was brutal and yeah. Then then then we started
- 11:11Speaker 3: festivities because as everyone knows, I don't go to tournaments
- 11:15Speaker 3: to do well, I go to Too Good a good drink.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna go for drink a good time. That's right.
- 11:21Speaker 3: So this year I'm told there might be a a
- 11:25Speaker 3: scavenger hunt and I am down for the Keyfard scavenger Hunt.
- 11:31Speaker 3: I'm just interested to see what's in it.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Are you part of the organizing committee for key Porch
- 11:37Speaker 4: or not because you're sog in the game, Okay.
- 11:40Speaker 3: No, I'm I do nothing with organizing. Ghost Galaxy does
- 11:43Speaker 3: all their organizing. I mean I I'll pop up on
- 11:47Speaker 3: stream a lot for them because if I'm out, I
- 11:50Speaker 3: might as well do something. And uh, I'll I stream
- 11:53Speaker 3: like I was on almost all of Baltimore because I
- 11:57Speaker 3: laid the old gooseag at Baltimore and couldn't do anything.
- 11:59Speaker 3: So I was like Sam like me, Yeah, I did terrible.
- 12:05Speaker 3: It was my worst showing to date. And I was like, well,
- 12:07Speaker 3: might as well go stream? They're like you want to
- 12:09Speaker 3: and I'm like, yeah, might as well. So I I I.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Love streaming, I really do. I love the interaction, the connection,
- 12:18Speaker 4: the storytelling that happens through it. And you know, you
- 12:23Speaker 4: have different kinds of casts, that's different kinds of streamers.
- 12:25Speaker 4: As long as you can bounce off each other and
- 12:27Speaker 4: you make it entertaining for those listening, because that's it
- 12:29Speaker 4: can be really boring if the if the people casting
- 12:32Speaker 4: are not it's somewhat entertaining, right, you know, they drive
- 12:37Speaker 4: a lot of a lot of the fun I definitely
- 12:40Speaker 4: turn people are off. Yeah, but but we yeah, let's
- 12:45Speaker 4: get tons of news to get there is Oh my
- 12:47Speaker 4: goodness there.
- 12:48Speaker 3: You guys are new to this. This is old hat
- 12:51Speaker 3: for me at this point. But the Game Found you
- 12:54Speaker 3: can't do anything with it yet, but it's up to
- 12:56Speaker 3: be followed, so I suggest you go follow the game
- 12:58Speaker 3: Found campaigns. Already one update they have revealed I guess
- 13:04Speaker 3: they revealed the first two pledges, which I guess. I guess, Yeah,
- 13:08Speaker 3: they're pledges. I guess. I don't know. I'm we'll see
- 13:11Speaker 3: how they do it, because they might do it a
- 13:13Speaker 3: little bit different. They might be doing it a little
- 13:16Speaker 3: bit different than than how key Forge typically does it.
- 13:21Speaker 3: But we got the first two tiers revealed, and then
- 13:25Speaker 3: we got a little article about it over on altered
- 13:28Speaker 3: dot GG. But the first tier is the Discovery Pack,
- 13:32Speaker 3: so you know what, this is such a tough one
- 13:34Speaker 3: to like decide where to start, and I guess basically
- 13:37Speaker 3: the easiest way is with the article because it was
- 13:39Speaker 3: Seeds of Unity is going to be the next set.
- 13:43Speaker 3: I didn't read very very much. So this reminds me, Okay,
- 13:48Speaker 3: let's play a game. You guys are ready for this one.
- 13:52Speaker 3: This is very like, very reminiscent. And it took me
- 13:56Speaker 3: a little bit of looking at this picture. If you
- 13:58Speaker 3: haven't seen it, go see it. We're not in We're
- 14:01Speaker 3: still in the sky, but a little bit different, right,
- 14:06Speaker 3: and we see a city. What does a city remind
- 14:08Speaker 3: you of? Maybe maybe you guys haven't. Maybe you guys
- 14:12Speaker 3: are big into it like I am, but I got
- 14:15Speaker 3: a very distinct vibe. It took me about five ten
- 14:18Speaker 3: minutes to feel where it was and then I was
- 14:21Speaker 3: like bam, and it hit me.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Like a ton of bricks.
- 14:25Speaker 4: I don't know nothing.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Elden Ring, You're on the right track. It is that
- 14:32Speaker 3: high fantasy.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Is is it your Lord of the Rings?
- 14:40Speaker 3: This is oh?
- 14:40Speaker 1: Really you think this is rive.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Very much reminds me of like really alterns take on
- 14:48Speaker 3: like a Riven Dell. Oh very much.
- 14:49Speaker 4: So it's it sort of is this is the conglomer
- 14:53Speaker 4: where everybody now one thing of note, and this is
- 14:56Speaker 4: just my take, whether it's reality or not. So in
- 14:59Speaker 4: the lot, it's this set is almost a continuation of Set,
- 15:02Speaker 4: for it is the tree that they saw in the
- 15:05Speaker 4: distance at the beginning of set for the World Tree.
- 15:09Speaker 4: This is the world Tree that they get to, but
- 15:13Speaker 4: they get stuck with all the of athons that they're
- 15:15Speaker 4: fighting in or and then befriending with with Hallua. So
- 15:20Speaker 4: it's so if you look at the art for Set four,
- 15:22Speaker 4: this is where they this is what I feel they
- 15:24Speaker 4: arrived too, because it's it's the same. It looks like
- 15:27Speaker 4: the same World Tree.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Very much so.
- 15:29Speaker 3: And it's sounds so this is the meeting. So it
- 15:33Speaker 3: sounds like after the big the Purge as I like
- 15:36Speaker 3: to call it, because that's pretty much what it was,
- 15:39Speaker 3: and humans kind of went or I guess I don't
- 15:42Speaker 3: even want to I was gonna say as garthens, but
- 15:44Speaker 3: like people went into like different clumps, right yep, because
- 15:50Speaker 3: they lends leans clans at the time. That's a very
- 15:53Speaker 3: good way a plan putting.
- 15:54Speaker 4: In plans, tribes whatever we want to call it, very.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Tribal because it says, see, the unity tells the story
- 15:58Speaker 3: between the meeting of their gardas as Garthans and the Rica,
- 16:03Speaker 3: a vibrant celebration full of color, color, and optimism where
- 16:07Speaker 3: the focus is on inn exchange, the discovery of people
- 16:09Speaker 3: in their city. So there, we're meeting a whole new
- 16:12Speaker 3: people for the time, right, So this is the first
- 16:16Speaker 3: time we're not just gonna have as Garthans. You guys
- 16:19Speaker 3: are gonna have to rename your podcast.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I would call them proto as Garthans. Oh okay, it's
- 16:29Speaker 1: like we're talking linguistically.
- 16:31Speaker 3: This is a Laddin all over again. It's a whole
- 16:33Speaker 3: new world. Right. No, I'm just right exactly. But I
- 16:38Speaker 3: was just I was reading this, It's like, okay, so
- 16:40Speaker 3: now this is like this is a new whole group
- 16:43Speaker 3: of people. I was like, all right, that's cool. That's
- 16:46Speaker 3: what's we get to. We get to kind of discover
- 16:49Speaker 3: this whole new group. This could lead into some new heroes.
- 16:52Speaker 3: And then as I'm scrolling down reading, I'm like, hey, look,
- 16:55Speaker 3: new heroes. Weird story. We meet Dila and bought dealer
- 17:02Speaker 3: and bought art.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, Dela and Bolt. Dela and Bolt. So the
- 17:09Speaker 4: bolt Bolt looks to be like a is it a
- 17:13Speaker 4: raccoon of some kind what kind of what kind of animal?
- 17:17Speaker 1: Is it a marmot, a stout? Maybe?
- 17:19Speaker 4: I have no idea black and white. I was calling
- 17:21Speaker 4: it a skunk when I first looked at it, but
- 17:23Speaker 4: it was a weasel. That that's even better. A weezl
- 17:28Speaker 4: looks like what it is.
- 17:29Speaker 3: I really thought it was. I kind of was like,
- 17:31Speaker 3: is that a raccoon? There's just not enough. I don't know.
- 17:34Speaker 3: It could be I mean, artistic artistic license, no bounds, right,
- 17:40Speaker 3: but imagine immediately was like, oh, maybe it's it looks
- 17:43Speaker 3: like a weasel.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Sold on. I'm trying to I'm trying to get to
- 17:49Speaker 1: the pagro quick. I'm a little side tracked. Do you
- 17:52Speaker 1: want the link? I can give you the link. Oh no,
- 17:55Speaker 1: I'm just I'm creating a game bound account as we're speaking.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Oh oh yeah, okay, okay, he's going.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Yeah, he's going through the article itself to begin with.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Technically speaking, you get better artwork from the game found absolutely.
- 18:10Speaker 4: And that's just in terms of but this is this
- 18:14Speaker 4: is a really good outline that they gave.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Yeah, because you don't get that, you don't get to
- 18:18Speaker 3: see deal in Bolton. Then we'll obviously go through because
- 18:21Speaker 3: we're going to getting three new heroes. You're getting an
- 18:23Speaker 3: Axiom hero, you're getting a moona hero, and you're gonna
- 18:26Speaker 3: get an artist. Here though, why artists needed another hero?
- 18:29Speaker 3: The world would never know. Word on the street is
- 18:32Speaker 3: there's certain people over at Equinox that really really love
- 18:36Speaker 3: the color blue. Oh you know, it might be a badger. Oh,
- 18:41Speaker 3: I don't know about that tale badger. Mm, badger is
- 18:45Speaker 3: actually a pretty good Yeah.
- 18:47Speaker 1: You know, Tumbul does weird stuff to animals, So I
- 18:50Speaker 1: would say i'd say bolts, maybe maybe a mix between
- 18:54Speaker 1: like a court now because Corgi don't have long tails.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Dang, Yeah, it looks like a badger. I'm gonna say badger.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Badger's actually that might that's probably what it is. Now
- 19:03Speaker 3: that you've said it, I can't unsee it.
- 19:07Speaker 4: So it's nice.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I live in your brain now.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Yeah, but delan bolt. You are can ready target per
- 19:13Speaker 3: or you can tap tap it or exhausted ready target
- 19:17Speaker 3: permanent in play or target card and reserve that car
- 19:21Speaker 3: costs two more to target. A permanent in play with
- 19:24Speaker 3: hand cost five or more.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Nice and just an fyi. As of this afternoon, you
- 19:31Speaker 4: can actually click through on the pictures and you'll get
- 19:33Speaker 4: the alternative version of the card as well, which you
- 19:36Speaker 4: couldn't do until today.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah you can, so you get a chance.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Yeah, that wasn't available earlier today.
- 19:44Speaker 1: So okay, to be fair that you can't think they
- 19:46Speaker 1: released its Yeah, I think they released that as part
- 19:49Speaker 1: of Worlds.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Next up we got Turn and Benna, benmy Benna. I'm
- 19:58Speaker 3: gonna go with Benna making my total dream deck for
- 20:04Speaker 3: an all birds, all day tribal bird deck. Yeah, come
- 20:08Speaker 3: to life, right, totally about it. Yeah, I want that.
- 20:14Speaker 3: I want to tribal birds. I don't know how I'm
- 20:16Speaker 3: gonna do it, but I'm gonna figure it out. It's
- 20:18Speaker 3: gonna be terrible, but you know, tribal birds.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Stop with animals if you don't have enough birds. But
- 20:24Speaker 4: but you you may be able to get enough birds
- 20:26Speaker 4: with this set.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Oh you know what, maybe maybe more new set, more birds.
- 20:30Speaker 3: I like it. Moon a hero when you when you
- 20:34Speaker 3: make a gift, you may exhaust me to also receive it.
- 20:38Speaker 3: A gift is when on your turn and opponent draws
- 20:41Speaker 3: a card, resupplies or receives a token ignore my ability
- 20:45Speaker 3: during the first day. So this kind of goes with
- 20:47Speaker 3: the original card from the last set, right.
- 20:53Speaker 4: M hm, yes, very similar. So like giving a token,
- 20:58Speaker 4: which which is what you do with what's what's isn't it?
- 21:02Speaker 4: What's her name? Cowrie?
- 21:04Speaker 3: Yep, I was drying a blank? Nobody plays Yeah.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Well I'm actually starting to play Cowrie. But I don't
- 21:12Speaker 4: play the way Carrie is played by most people. Mine
- 21:15Speaker 4: is all is ramp slash draw because I'm like, why not?
- 21:21Speaker 4: So that therefore you can overcome giving that one token
- 21:24Speaker 4: which is so frustrating, But this is really cool. You
- 21:29Speaker 4: get a chance to, like a lot of the moon
- 21:31Speaker 4: cards that were developed in set one and then continued
- 21:34Speaker 4: in the in the later sets, gave your opponents a
- 21:37Speaker 4: gift what we now call a gift if but you
- 21:41Speaker 4: got an overstated card. Now you give them one, but
- 21:44Speaker 4: you also get it, so there's no downside. And if
- 21:46Speaker 4: you give a gift that gives like say, for example,
- 21:50Speaker 4: Aja aja, when you play it from hand, both of
- 21:54Speaker 4: you ramp on the rare. So in this case, like
- 21:59Speaker 4: this is this maybe this isn't because he has to
- 22:01Speaker 4: draw a carter re. Supply, there are things like that
- 22:03Speaker 4: where you can get a benefit, and you can get
- 22:05Speaker 4: an extra benefit on top of it. I think there's
- 22:07Speaker 4: gonna be some really fun synergies with with Muna, and
- 22:10Speaker 4: maybe Muna will actually be playable again because it hasn't been.
- 22:15Speaker 3: But then you get because you're giving it, you get
- 22:17Speaker 3: the benefit again, so you get two bad yes, okay.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Yeah, so I think there's gonna be some fun, fun
- 22:23Speaker 4: ways of playing this. But we'll see Moon and is
- 22:27Speaker 4: always they've had it rough.
- 22:31Speaker 3: I always feel like, uh, maybe they're listening, because I mean,
- 22:35Speaker 3: like I said just a few weeks ago, I'm like
- 22:37Speaker 3: bird travel would be dope, and all of a sudden,
- 22:39Speaker 3: hey look, mm hmm.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe you've been saying it in the enclosed corners
- 22:46Speaker 4: and Cole Robbie's been talking to them because this has
- 22:50Speaker 4: to be in the works for.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Months, that's more than likely the case. Yeah, I try
- 22:55Speaker 3: to keep call out of it. And then we got
- 22:57Speaker 3: Motts and Hive the new artist Hero. Big change to
- 23:03Speaker 3: this hero. Obviously, normally you are only usually allowed to
- 23:06Speaker 3: have two landmarks. First Hero, that is going to allow
- 23:10Speaker 3: you to have three landmarks, so breaking that you know,
- 23:14Speaker 3: two reserved two landmarks. It's even in parentheses. You can
- 23:17Speaker 3: see it on the card, but even in parentheses, says
- 23:19Speaker 3: I mean you may keep up to three cards in
- 23:21Speaker 3: your landmarks during night, but at noon, if there are
- 23:25Speaker 3: three or more cards in your landmarks, you may sacrifice one.
- 23:29Speaker 3: If you do play for free a landmark permanent with
- 23:33Speaker 3: max hand cost of two more than the sacrificed card.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Honestly, yeah, kind of nutty.
- 23:42Speaker 3: A little bet.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I think it's kind of funny, kind of nutty. I
- 23:49Speaker 1: have a quick question for you, guys, and this is relevant.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Are you guys familiar with a magic content creator called Mauldhound?
- 23:57Speaker 1: I am not iorg Okay, for everybody listening who is familiar,
- 24:03Speaker 1: which might be a little far in few between. He
- 24:06Speaker 1: does a segment where he rates commander cards in Magic right,
- 24:13Speaker 1: and at the very end, the last thing that he
- 24:16Speaker 1: says like, can this commander get it? And I mean
- 24:21Speaker 1: that in the in the biblogal sense of the term
- 24:23Speaker 1: get it? Are you guys? Are you guys catching my drift? No?
- 24:28Speaker 4: Like knowing someone?
- 24:30Speaker 1: No? No, no, no no. Basically, he's asking whether or not
- 24:33Speaker 1: this commander you know, gets laid and can get laid right, Okay,
- 24:39Speaker 1: Matts can get it a million percent, Matts can get.
- 24:43Speaker 3: It fair enough.
- 24:45Speaker 4: I have no idea why you go that.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Matts. I'm not kidding when I say this Matts is
- 24:52Speaker 1: the hottest hero card they have created to date. She's
- 24:58Speaker 1: so hot and I'm so mad about it.
- 25:02Speaker 4: That's so funny.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I actually should be high.
- 25:05Speaker 4: So outside of that, the other thing that Matt's has
- 25:08Speaker 4: is he's kind of kind of conflicted. Like he's the
- 25:11Speaker 4: one that created the guest style, which is basically the
- 25:14Speaker 4: way that the artists have that high mind mentality, right,
- 25:19Speaker 4: but he is not a happy guy. He's like something's
- 25:22Speaker 4: going on with him that that that's just not not computing.
- 25:27Speaker 4: So maybe he's realizing what he's developed isn't the best.
- 25:31Speaker 1: But I'm interested to see high mind messes with the individual.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, maybe maybe there's some consequences he hasn't told of.
- 25:39Speaker 4: I don't know, but it's a it's very interesting. I
- 25:42Speaker 4: think he's dynamic. A lot of people are saying this
- 25:44Speaker 4: hero should have been in the axiom faction. I love Orders,
- 25:49Speaker 4: so I'm excited that it's in Orders. But do you
- 25:53Speaker 4: want to read through the text because it's very different
- 25:55Speaker 4: than what we've seen.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Which one.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he for Mats.
- 26:01Speaker 4: Mats Math's ability is so different.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Yeahs sack a permanent, and then you get to bring
- 26:08Speaker 3: in a permanent for free two more than the sacrifice permanent,
- 26:12Speaker 3: then the hand cost of the sacrifice.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Yeah, not base, he gets, he gets.
- 26:17Speaker 3: He gets a little rampy, a little rampy.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Yes.
- 26:19Speaker 4: So so basically you'll start off with an armored Jammer,
- 26:22Speaker 4: move on to like a monolith Ordis Basti or something
- 26:25Speaker 4: else than the Orders Bastion, then to a Grand Endeavor. Yeah.
- 26:28Speaker 4: So it's really interesting that that progression with replacing your
- 26:33Speaker 4: your your landmarks, which is very unique. But ultimately I'd
- 26:37Speaker 4: say you want to get to either keep having the
- 26:40Speaker 4: monolith or getting the Grand Endeavor or something new that
- 26:44Speaker 4: comes out. But the brass bugs are going to be
- 26:47Speaker 4: really useful. The armor Jamo is finally going to be
- 26:49Speaker 4: using orders.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I think. So. One other thing that I think is
- 26:54Speaker 1: really funny about this is now with the way that
- 27:01Speaker 1: I think about this, is that Ortis, I believe is
- 27:03Speaker 1: the one of the very few factions that have landmarks
- 27:09Speaker 1: that are cheap and good.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Ortis has everything that sees play.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Because when I think about it, you know, Lyra and
- 27:21Speaker 1: Lyra and Muna have tough and even Bravos has tough
- 27:26Speaker 1: with spindle right, Axium is axiom, so we don't even
- 27:29Speaker 1: need to touch Axiom and Ismir you can argue has
- 27:35Speaker 1: some pretty good ones too. I feel like, but even
- 27:39Speaker 1: in terms of landmarks, I feel like Ismere's above Ortis
- 27:43Speaker 1: in some senses because I feel like there are staple
- 27:50Speaker 1: landmarks within each of those factions, you know what I mean.
- 27:54Speaker 1: I feel like within Ortis. Maybe that's not the case.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Sometimes you're not seeing every deck playing the same marks.
- 28:02Speaker 1: So I think it's funny that this is that they
- 28:05Speaker 1: did this. I think it's absolutely hilarious.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Yeah, there's there's I'm sure there's going to be a
- 28:12Speaker 4: lot more landmarks. I'll say Orders basically has the only
- 28:16Speaker 4: landmark that has the tough on it as well, Grand
- 28:19Speaker 4: Endeavor at the rare.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Oh that's true, and that's yeah.
- 28:23Speaker 4: So but how am I missaving in.
- 28:25Speaker 1: The rare six six?
- 28:27Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 28:27Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 28:28Speaker 4: But now you can actually play it for four, like
- 28:31Speaker 4: if you if you build up your plan, play it
- 28:33Speaker 4: for four.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Or you know, you when you sacrifice Monolith, yes what
- 28:39Speaker 1: I mean.
- 28:40Speaker 4: Like when you get up to four, when you have
- 28:42Speaker 4: four resources because you've played something else out. It's very interesting.
- 28:47Speaker 4: I love it. I love the emblem that they've created
- 28:50Speaker 4: for this set as well, the tree.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I will say it's really interesting because this reminds
- 28:54Speaker 1: me of the what is it MANI Flair mana fla
- 29:00Speaker 1: into Hunger, That's what this reminds me of. So I
- 29:06Speaker 1: think it's good, but specifically for landmarks, so that'll be interesting. Honestly.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Yeah, you see how this will be because I mean
- 29:18Speaker 3: landmarks traditionally, I guess in the most traditional sense, they're
- 29:23Speaker 3: not I mean, I guess some of them can. I mean,
- 29:25Speaker 3: they're not progressing you through the game, right, they're normally tertiary. Right,
- 29:30Speaker 3: they're giving right to get you to get your your
- 29:36Speaker 3: characters bonuses and you know, help you, help guide you where.
- 29:41Speaker 3: It seems like Matts is gonna want a lot of
- 29:44Speaker 3: landmarks in Deck, so you're gonna have to have some
- 29:47Speaker 3: landmarks that create tokens or characters, right, which would make
- 29:51Speaker 3: sense to push you through. Right, And there's there's not
- 29:58Speaker 3: much there, but anyway, pretty cool, pretty cool heroes, all
- 30:00Speaker 3: three of them, really fun designs. I do like that
- 30:03Speaker 3: we're breaking breaking the barrier of just the two to two. Finally,
- 30:07Speaker 3: I kind of figured obviously looking at the cards, there
- 30:10Speaker 3: was some room for some extras on there. So I
- 30:12Speaker 3: was like, when when are you going to have the
- 30:14Speaker 3: first hero that breaks that? And I guess it's now.
- 30:19Speaker 3: I guess that is now that we're going to have it.
- 30:23Speaker 3: Did you guys watch it?
- 30:24Speaker 4: Actually thought I did.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Oh wow, for.
- 30:28Speaker 3: A tiny little company to make a trailer like that
- 30:31Speaker 3: was I was blown away.
- 30:32Speaker 4: I was like, wow, which trailer because because when this
- 30:36Speaker 4: was released, the first the trailer that was on here
- 30:38Speaker 4: was the first the original Equinox trailer from when you
- 30:41Speaker 4: did Kickstarter.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the Altar A new Era, a new era.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's in there.
- 30:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:49Speaker 3: That was very very well done, very well put together.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Interesting that you know, again, a smaller company like Equinox
- 30:57Speaker 3: or do this normally when you see something like this,
- 30:59Speaker 3: it's it's your pokemons, your yu gi ohs, your magics
- 31:01Speaker 3: of the world doing something that that I don't want
- 31:06Speaker 3: to say brazen, but like that that lavish, I guess
- 31:10Speaker 3: maybe is the best word to say, you know, because
- 31:12Speaker 3: then number one, just by the looks of it didn't
- 31:15Speaker 3: look cheap, right, so they they definitely put some money
- 31:19Speaker 3: behind it, and it looked turned out very very well,
- 31:22Speaker 3: very good.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I think when when this first the first announcement
- 31:26Speaker 4: came out that they were moving distribution model. You know,
- 31:29Speaker 4: a lot of people came out with it saying is
- 31:31Speaker 4: this the death of Altered And there were two ways
- 31:33Speaker 4: of looking at it. You can look at it from
- 31:34Speaker 4: that end of saying, hey, this is desperation move, or
- 31:36Speaker 4: the other side is it's a very ballsy move and
- 31:39Speaker 4: they truly trust themselves and believe in back themselves where
- 31:43Speaker 4: they feel they need to be have greater presence in
- 31:45Speaker 4: what they were getting through the distribution partners.
- 31:47Speaker 3: What do you guys feel about that? I guess I'm one.
- 31:50Speaker 3: I've already been through multiple, multiple game founds, right, I think? Geez,
- 31:55Speaker 3: I'm on my fifth game found now with key Forage.
- 31:58Speaker 3: How did you guys feel about the move from like
- 32:01Speaker 3: we're moving from basically, you know, as the day to
- 32:07Speaker 3: the game found model, right, Yeah, obviously it's like a
- 32:10Speaker 3: different model.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:13Speaker 4: I don't know if if Cole has said anything, but
- 32:18Speaker 4: we were advised that we were part of a missouvie
- 32:23Speaker 4: before this was announced, and as part of that, we
- 32:25Speaker 4: had the privilege to get to see this before it
- 32:28Speaker 4: was released to the public, probably not as early as
- 32:31Speaker 4: maybe what Cole gets in other stuff, but it was
- 32:36Speaker 4: an absolute shock. It was an absolute shock in terms
- 32:42Speaker 4: of this, and like, hey, this was the first meeting
- 32:45Speaker 4: they got all of the new Massouvie together to and
- 32:48Speaker 4: it's like, what is this about. It almost felt like
- 32:53Speaker 4: it was like a multi level marketing campaign for US. Hey,
- 32:56Speaker 4: you guys have done this, but here's how you can
- 32:58Speaker 4: spend money on US. I was I was skeptical, but
- 33:04Speaker 4: also hopeful because I'd heard of so many of the
- 33:09Speaker 4: issues with distribution. But I also look at it from
- 33:13Speaker 4: a perspective. This company has less than thirty employees. I think,
- 33:17Speaker 4: how are they going to take on all this? And
- 33:22Speaker 4: I think I think things will have to drop so
- 33:26Speaker 4: they can focus on on what is the most important.
- 33:28Speaker 4: I hope the most important is the gameplay experience, the
- 33:32Speaker 4: store relationship, and I would also say the connectivity with
- 33:37Speaker 4: your player base. And I think they're hitting the box
- 33:40Speaker 4: really well.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I think to suffer in this case
- 33:46Speaker 3: because I think you're right, but the thing that might
- 33:49Speaker 3: suffer a little bit, I was like, oh, good for them, right,
- 33:52Speaker 3: cutting ties and as as someone who has played asthmade
- 33:56Speaker 3: games for years, as someone who key for Juice, to
- 33:59Speaker 3: be and as to day Slash Fantasy Flight game, I
- 34:03Speaker 3: was already well attuned to the issues that that Asbade has,
- 34:09Speaker 3: So when they had moved away from it and went
- 34:11Speaker 3: to this game Pound model, I was like, well, you
- 34:13Speaker 3: know it's worked here and here, you know it's it's
- 34:17Speaker 3: still working for key Forge, right. Some of our main
- 34:20Speaker 3: gripes in the key Forge community is that we were
- 34:22Speaker 3: told it was going to be a one and done,
- 34:24Speaker 3: it would never be done again.
- 34:25Speaker 1: And then they and then they did it again.
- 34:28Speaker 3: So I think there is obviously we were a little
- 34:29Speaker 3: irritated with the lack of transparency. There is saying like well,
- 34:32Speaker 3: we're just gonna do it this one and then we're
- 34:34Speaker 3: never gonna have to do a key We're never gonna
- 34:35Speaker 3: have to do a Game Found again, and then surprise,
- 34:38Speaker 3: next sets another Game Found. But they have clearly stated
- 34:41Speaker 3: here like hey, this is the direction we're going to go.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Game Found does help with distribution and all that fun stuff.
- 34:49Speaker 3: So it for them, I think it was it was
- 34:53Speaker 3: probably a good thing. And not only that, like it's
- 34:56Speaker 3: I think it's going to help them out reach a
- 34:58Speaker 3: reach a much larger player. I mean, look, how look
- 35:00Speaker 3: how successful the Kickstarter was.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Yeah, but while the kicksiter was successful, did it actually
- 35:07Speaker 4: convert to players and of course the initial player base, yes, right,
- 35:12Speaker 4: but I do I think this is going to be great,
- 35:15Speaker 4: but they cannot not take care of the store and
- 35:21Speaker 4: that and my hope with this, and this is just
- 35:25Speaker 4: me speaking out loud, is I hope that the Game
- 35:28Speaker 4: Found model is a short term initiative rather than the
- 35:33Speaker 4: path forward forever, because eventually it'd be great that it's
- 35:38Speaker 4: in stores, in more stores rather than just the select
- 35:41Speaker 4: that select few that actually buy directly from the Game
- 35:45Speaker 4: Found or from them. But we'll see.
- 35:50Speaker 3: It looks like retailers are just actually going to order
- 35:53Speaker 3: direct from because another one came out was how to
- 35:57Speaker 3: order set five Seeds of Unity in retailers, which was
- 36:02Speaker 3: very very brief, basically, create an alter dot gg account,
- 36:08Speaker 3: you know, and we'll we'll get you guys.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I actually saw the retail store. Yeah, the retail page.
- 36:19Speaker 4: So you and I may have to do that on
- 36:21Speaker 4: Saturday as well.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Fun fact the current issue that I am seeing
- 36:29Speaker 1: right now because technically I believe as of the fifteenth
- 36:35Speaker 1: there are certain things that stores are able to do
- 36:37Speaker 1: and look at, right and.
- 36:38Speaker 4: Stools can can buy now or at least pledge now.
- 36:44Speaker 1: The issue is is that even when you go to
- 36:47Speaker 1: the US like English US page, the currency currently, as
- 36:53Speaker 1: far as I was able to tell, does not convert.
- 36:56Speaker 1: So it's hard for stores in the US to check
- 36:58Speaker 1: on that.
- 36:59Speaker 4: So so and actually maybe I'll talk a little bit
- 37:01Speaker 4: on that. Maybe you know as well. The pledge is
- 37:04Speaker 4: always going to be in euro You can only choose
- 37:07Speaker 4: one currency when you use Game Found or most of these.
- 37:11Speaker 4: And what it does, though, is there's a setting you
- 37:14Speaker 4: can do when you log onto game Found that says
- 37:16Speaker 4: display when you're going to buy in your own local
- 37:19Speaker 4: currency and or do the conversion for you. But it
- 37:21Speaker 4: will always be based in euro and it just does.
- 37:25Speaker 1: I did not know that, actually, so and you can
- 37:28Speaker 1: see that and all.
- 37:29Speaker 4: The other thing is we're looking at pictures rather than
- 37:31Speaker 4: a dynamic pricing model in most cases. But if you
- 37:34Speaker 4: scroll down to the very bottom of Game Found, it
- 37:37Speaker 4: does give you that if you've selected US dollars or
- 37:40Speaker 4: whatever currency you want, will tell you what it will
- 37:42Speaker 4: cost you for those things that have been released. And
- 37:45Speaker 4: that is everything that is additional or the add ons
- 37:48Speaker 4: as opposed to the actual products right now.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Interesting. I actually did not know.
- 37:53Speaker 4: That and high level. Like I said, now, if you
- 37:56Speaker 4: were to buy the two starter decks without the discount,
- 37:59Speaker 4: it's a third the euro and thirty five US dollars
- 38:03Speaker 4: or close to that.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 38:08Speaker 4: I've been playing a lot with this, trying to figure out.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Figure out what do.
- 38:15Speaker 4: Well for me And I don't know about you, but like,
- 38:18Speaker 4: if I can buy exactly the same thing on Game
- 38:21Speaker 4: Found and at the same price so close to from
- 38:24Speaker 4: my local store, I'll go to my local store.
- 38:30Speaker 5: Rom Right.
- 38:32Speaker 3: I had asked Lucky, like, what's what's the game plan here?
- 38:35Speaker 3: Because you know, I even told him my fear is
- 38:37Speaker 3: that like the locals, the local store, you know, you
- 38:41Speaker 3: you use kind of the four letter words saying this
- 38:43Speaker 3: is how we're going forward and presenting ourselves in business.
- 38:47Speaker 3: And man, game stores hate the word crowdfunding, right, Whenever
- 38:52Speaker 3: they see that, it just you know, they just kind
- 38:55Speaker 3: of their buttoles pucker and they're like, this is a
- 38:58Speaker 3: game that I don't even want to waste my time
- 39:00Speaker 3: on anymore, right, because there's no there's no sense in
- 39:03Speaker 3: it for me. There's no money to be made here.
- 39:05Speaker 3: So you got to give the store a reason that
- 39:07Speaker 3: you know, you got to let the game store make
- 39:09Speaker 3: some money for them to want to continue making your game.
- 39:13Speaker 3: So I'm really interested in that point of number one,
- 39:16Speaker 3: what they will have because you said there was going
- 39:18Speaker 3: to be certain things that the game stores will have
- 39:21Speaker 3: access to that the game found will not.
- 39:28Speaker 4: Yes, sorry, they still go through Game Found. They it's
- 39:33Speaker 4: just a different yeah, So they will get their stock through.
- 39:37Speaker 4: The difference being is and they'll have a they'll have
- 39:40Speaker 4: a discounted pricing model, right or a different portal for it.
- 39:44Speaker 4: But the difference that the game store has is they
- 39:49Speaker 4: do not have limits on some of the products. So
- 39:53Speaker 4: if you and I were to buy a buy box,
- 39:54Speaker 4: we can only buy two additional collector packs. That is it.
- 39:59Speaker 4: There is no limit for the stores, I believe, or
- 40:03Speaker 4: there's different limits so they can.
- 40:05Speaker 3: You can buy and they can really be buying tier.
- 40:07Speaker 4: I think, yes, you can buy multiple tiers, but as
- 40:10Speaker 4: an additional add on, the maximum you can do is
- 40:12Speaker 4: two additional booster packs that are the collector's addition. And
- 40:17Speaker 4: I think that's going to be an area where the
- 40:19Speaker 4: store can differentiate themselves, is their ability of doing that.
- 40:22Speaker 4: They have said they're still going to have promotional stuff
- 40:26Speaker 4: whatever that is. They're no longer doing promo packs, at
- 40:28Speaker 4: least not for set five, but they will have cards
- 40:32Speaker 4: that they'll become available for us, and they know some
- 40:34Speaker 4: games provide a card, others provide a pack. It looks
- 40:37Speaker 4: like they're going to the card model when you go
- 40:40Speaker 4: into the store and play. But I don't know how
- 40:44Speaker 4: much game store margins are, but if you look at
- 40:45Speaker 4: most traditional businesses, you're looking at about a thirty to
- 40:48Speaker 4: forty percent margin is what you're looking for, gross margin
- 40:52Speaker 4: before you get on and put on all your overheads.
- 40:54Speaker 4: So I'm assuming they'd be looking to get something like
- 40:57Speaker 4: that in terms of a discount, thirty forty percent, and
- 41:00Speaker 4: then they mark it up and make maybe ten or
- 41:02Speaker 4: ten to twenty percent after they put in all their
- 41:05Speaker 4: salaries and all the other things. But you know, if
- 41:09Speaker 4: you don't look after them, we won't have a place
- 41:10Speaker 4: to play and the game will.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Die, right yep.
- 41:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:15Speaker 3: That was one of my arguments too, is that if
- 41:17Speaker 3: you get the opportunity, like they provide the place for
- 41:20Speaker 3: you to play, they give you a.
- 41:22Speaker 4: So i'd like coal, I'll give you. I'll give you
- 41:24Speaker 4: the good and the bad. I won't just talk the
- 41:26Speaker 4: good because Cole is very much drinking the kool Lady,
- 41:29Speaker 4: which is which is great, Like I am too right,
- 41:32Speaker 4: but I also look, I put on my business hat.
- 41:35Speaker 4: I'm like, there's economics that need to be taken care of.
- 41:39Speaker 4: But then the side for yourself is like how much
- 41:41Speaker 4: more am I willing to pay both at the store
- 41:44Speaker 4: level or at the Game found level, where I'd be
- 41:47Speaker 4: happy to pay a premium, Like I always want to
- 41:50Speaker 4: support my game store, but in many cases, if I'm
- 41:53Speaker 4: able to buy a box for one hundred dollars and
- 41:56Speaker 4: not one hundred and fifty, it's hard to go to
- 41:59Speaker 4: your local game store and say I need to buy
- 42:01Speaker 4: six boxes right right. It just it just economically doesn't
- 42:05Speaker 4: make sense. And it'll be the same thing here. The
- 42:10Speaker 4: other thing is, if you go to the Game Found yourself,
- 42:13Speaker 4: it's a guarantee that you'll get your pack your box.
- 42:16Speaker 4: If you go to your store, that is not guaranteed,
- 42:19Speaker 4: right And because of the way that they've talked about
- 42:23Speaker 4: this becoming you know, print only, they only make enough
- 42:28Speaker 4: per the demand, and I would say plus a little
- 42:31Speaker 4: bit more, maybe plus ten percent that they'll have in
- 42:33Speaker 4: store for stores that then we'll want to buy more. Right,
- 42:37Speaker 4: the you know, it's too bad if we don't get enough. Right,
- 42:42Speaker 4: if people want them later on, they'll just release some
- 42:45Speaker 4: of those cards again, but not as part of a
- 42:47Speaker 4: set of visit.
- 42:51Speaker 1: I have a couple of thoughts if you guys don't
- 42:53Speaker 1: mind me jumping in here just for a moment, because
- 42:57Speaker 1: you have to remember, I'm kind of the idiot when
- 42:59Speaker 1: it comes to a TCG business and be crowdfunding in general, right,
- 43:07Speaker 1: I think in total, in my entire life, I think
- 43:09Speaker 1: I've crowdfunded like maybe three things. One thing that I
- 43:14Speaker 1: think is very interesting is their confidence because one thing
- 43:23Speaker 1: that I don't remember where I saw it, but they
- 43:25Speaker 1: were like, but I think it was low key or
- 43:26Speaker 1: somebody said, you know, they've been play testing a lot
- 43:29Speaker 1: of the stuff and that's coming out with this and there.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I don't think that they would add a mechanic that
- 43:38Speaker 1: they're not extremely confident in. Right, But again that's just
- 43:45Speaker 1: me personally. You know, the most I don't want to
- 43:51Speaker 1: say successful, but it is one of the most successful. Like,
- 43:54Speaker 1: you know, I'm used to Pokemon and I'm used to Magic, Right,
- 43:58Speaker 1: I don't think that they really have to worry about
- 44:00Speaker 1: out shooting themselves in the foot in any way, so
- 44:03Speaker 1: they can kind of just do what they want, and
- 44:05Speaker 1: you know, there's gonna be at least, if nothing else,
- 44:10Speaker 1: half of their player base is still going to buy
- 44:11Speaker 1: the product, right, And that's very pessimistically looking at that.
- 44:17Speaker 1: This is barely hitting a year, right. Yeah, I don't
- 44:23Speaker 1: think genuinely that they would add something or do something
- 44:26Speaker 1: that they genuinely think would undermine themselves. I think I
- 44:33Speaker 1: think the show is a great amount of confidence in
- 44:35Speaker 1: what they have planned, which is why I'm gonna let
- 44:38Speaker 1: this sit for maybe two sets. I'll see where this
- 44:41Speaker 1: goes for two sets, and then I'll make my decision
- 44:44Speaker 1: on whether or not this is worth it or not.
- 44:45Speaker 1: The other thing that I think.
- 44:48Speaker 4: On a podcast, jeez, Nick.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Look after three years, man, what do you mean this is.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Gonna come out every three every like four months, every
- 44:58Speaker 3: four months.
- 45:00Speaker 1: No, that's true. Yep, never mind, I'll give it. I'll
- 45:02Speaker 1: give it a year. I'll give it a year.
- 45:03Speaker 3: We'll see what I got. I got you year.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and then well, which you know, I don't know
- 45:10Speaker 1: if you guys heard or were paying attention to the
- 45:13Speaker 1: to the World's chat in discord, I might have another
- 45:15Speaker 1: podcast anyway.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Oh, I don't really what.
- 45:19Speaker 4: I didn't hear this, what's going on?
- 45:21Speaker 1: Oh, there was a joke that we made about how
- 45:25Speaker 1: Freeloader and rune folks should create a podcast called two
- 45:28Speaker 1: Dumb Brains and it's a deck building podcast, and somehow
- 45:34Speaker 1: Thattius got in on it, and uh, which Thaddius as
- 45:39Speaker 1: in Thaddeus Chili that we're both familiar with. Yeah, and
- 45:43Speaker 1: then I was like, well, shoot, if we just do
- 45:46Speaker 1: a four man podcast, we just pick we pick a
- 45:49Speaker 1: card each build a deck around it, and the first
- 45:51Speaker 1: one to three wins within that pod of four wins
- 45:56Speaker 1: the episode quote unquote for you know, best dumb deck built.
- 46:01Speaker 4: So I watch it just because there's it.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Is so but two, I don't know if this is true.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Wokin you can and you can maybe both correct me here.
- 46:14Speaker 1: I think the positive part about this is that if
- 46:17Speaker 1: they do drop the ball massively right like they just
- 46:22Speaker 1: absolutely crash and burn with this, I feel like this
- 46:27Speaker 1: not having to go through Asthma DAE is kind of
- 46:29Speaker 1: a good thing because even if they have to scrap
- 46:34Speaker 1: everything that they've done for set six, I feel like
- 46:37Speaker 1: they have the freedom to do that now if they're
- 46:41Speaker 1: Set five absolutely just bombs, and they're like, we have
- 46:45Speaker 1: to massively change course.
- 46:48Speaker 4: And I'll say this, I don't think this will bomb.
- 46:51Speaker 4: And there's a couple of things. This is this is
- 46:54Speaker 4: the first time, and they are looking after the investor,
- 46:57Speaker 4: which will then help support the playbase it I'm I've
- 47:00Speaker 4: been very vocal on this kind of theme on our podcast.
- 47:03Speaker 4: A lot is you're now creating cards that are going
- 47:06Speaker 4: to become chase cards that people will want to have.
- 47:09Speaker 4: Then people are going to buy those boxes and then
- 47:12Speaker 4: release the rest of the cards to the public. And
- 47:16Speaker 4: I think that's going to be really useful for this
- 47:20Speaker 4: go ahead.
- 47:21Speaker 3: No, I've said that on I think even col has
- 47:24Speaker 3: said that is that the secondary market is a little
- 47:27Speaker 3: weak for Altered And I think the biggest thing you
- 47:32Speaker 3: have to remember too is like we see one lens
- 47:37Speaker 3: of it too. How many people are at World this weekend?
- 47:40Speaker 3: Like do we have a total headcount?
- 47:43Speaker 4: There is a minimum of twelve hundred people.
- 47:48Speaker 3: A lot of people, right, and I'm going to assume
- 47:53Speaker 3: a majority, a heavy majority aren't from the States. Almost
- 48:00Speaker 3: a less than five percent from the.
- 48:02Speaker 1: States, you know what I mean, I would say ten
- 48:06Speaker 1: I you know, maybe there's one.
- 48:08Speaker 4: Hundred and there's no way one hundred.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Yeah, there's maybe no I think you'd had with Blue
- 48:15Speaker 3: Blue getting sick. Well, yeah, so that's true, which there's
- 48:19Speaker 3: only feeling better. But I think should happened between twenty
- 48:27Speaker 3: to thirty.
- 48:29Speaker 1: I mean yeah, I know.
- 48:31Speaker 4: Of around about fifteen that went and then maybe there's more.
- 48:38Speaker 4: But I honestly, if we had more than fifty Americans
- 48:40Speaker 4: go there, that's huge.
- 48:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's a massive financial undertaking right now, especially
- 48:50Speaker 3: being so close to the holidays, right, I mean next,
- 48:53Speaker 3: I say that's yeah.
- 48:55Speaker 4: Do I wish I was there? Absolutely? I wish a
- 48:58Speaker 4: million of it. I'm like one hundred percent jealous that
- 49:02Speaker 4: that Cole went and did this last minute and got
- 49:05Speaker 4: himself and he's working the cast. I see my AQZ
- 49:09Speaker 4: teammates that are on the cast, and I just feel
- 49:12Speaker 4: completely left out because I would have loved it, not
- 49:15Speaker 4: just to meet my own team, but to be part
- 49:17Speaker 4: of the inaugural World event. Right. And I don't know
- 49:22Speaker 4: if you did it or you went to the first
- 49:24Speaker 4: World event for a key forge, but I'd think you'd
- 49:27Speaker 4: be very something. It's a celebration of the years that
- 49:30Speaker 4: they've done to get a product available and to see
- 49:33Speaker 4: people enjoy it. And I think there's a joy in that.
- 49:35Speaker 3: In another sense, I went to our first world's event.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Funny story, our first World's event was in twenty twenty,
- 49:44Speaker 3: twenty twenty two or twenty twenty three, even of the game.
- 49:48Speaker 3: How many years after So the game was released in
- 49:51Speaker 3: twenty eighteen, Oh jeez, fine for you, And then also
- 49:56Speaker 3: was the end of twenty and eighteen rate, and then
- 49:58Speaker 3: you went into twenty and we had a whole bunch
- 50:02Speaker 3: of Oh no, I'm sorry. We had twenty nineteen, which
- 50:05Speaker 3: started the Vault season, and then we were going into
- 50:07Speaker 3: the second set of Vault seasons and they're like, all right,
- 50:11Speaker 3: twenty twenty, and you know, I forgot the date that
- 50:14Speaker 3: they had set, but they're like, this is gonna be
- 50:16Speaker 3: our world's event. You know, we got all this stuff playing.
- 50:19Speaker 3: They started like dropping hints about was what was gonna
- 50:21Speaker 3: be happening at worlds and so on and so forth,
- 50:23Speaker 3: and then the world shut down and then the algorithm
- 50:26Speaker 3: was lost and all this, you know, and so yeah,
- 50:29Speaker 3: it was a number of years later before we had
- 50:32Speaker 3: our first quote unquote world's event. And even in that
- 50:37Speaker 3: first like inaugural World's event, we didn't have like a
- 50:41Speaker 3: World's champion. It wasn't until the next the year after that,
- 50:45Speaker 3: twenty twenty three, where we had our first like world
- 50:49Speaker 3: champions crowned. So it was it was a long time.
- 50:54Speaker 3: I'm telling you what, guys. If key Forge can make it,
- 50:56Speaker 3: this game's got it right, Like there there's no go away.
- 51:00Speaker 3: This game is fantastically designed. It's just it. It needs
- 51:05Speaker 3: to pick up if you can only figure out how
- 51:07Speaker 3: to get that traction in the States. And I think
- 51:09Speaker 3: that's the only part they're missing right now, is how
- 51:12Speaker 3: to get that traction in the States. They have the
- 51:15Speaker 3: traction over in the you know, over in Europe and
- 51:18Speaker 3: from other parts of the world. They just need the
- 51:21Speaker 3: traction here and for whatever reason, they're not getting it.
- 51:23Speaker 3: And it's tough over here, right, Like it just is
- 51:26Speaker 3: like we are dominated by Magic Pokemon and you get well,
- 51:30Speaker 3: right now you're kind of dominated with what is it
- 51:34Speaker 3: one piece Riftbound is now another one. This is like
- 51:40Speaker 3: two thousand and five all over again, where almost everything
- 51:43Speaker 3: has a ccg TCG right, and we'll say and we'll
- 51:46Speaker 3: see who makes it out the other end, right, because
- 51:50Speaker 3: you'll in about five years, we'll have like there's no tcgccgs,
- 51:54Speaker 3: you know, or very few that are still around, and
- 51:57Speaker 3: then it'll spike again. But it's one of those things
- 52:01Speaker 3: like I feel like if key Forge can make it,
- 52:02Speaker 3: this game can make it. So much bad happened to
- 52:05Speaker 3: key Forge that this game is not having to handle.
- 52:10Speaker 3: There are some hiccups in the road, and you got
- 52:12Speaker 3: rid of some people because well, this wasn't done automatically,
- 52:16Speaker 3: and this wasn't done automatically. Well guess what, Like, especially
- 52:19Speaker 3: with tech, shit happens, right, that's kind of one of
- 52:22Speaker 3: the rules. Yeah, you gotta follow shit happens, right, And
- 52:25Speaker 3: Chili and I have talked about that on our podcast too.
- 52:27Speaker 3: You know, it's just like I work in I work technically,
- 52:31Speaker 3: not really, but I work in it. You know where
- 52:34Speaker 3: you have debs doing sprints and they're you know, they're
- 52:37Speaker 3: doing development timelines, and I'm like, you know, it's all
- 52:40Speaker 3: well and good to talk about, like you know, oh yeah,
- 52:43Speaker 3: we can have this development you know, this.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Sprint done in like two weeks. We can have this
- 52:48Speaker 1: development done and release this thing in six months, right,
- 52:51Speaker 1: which is pretty good. The problem is is that the
- 52:54Speaker 1: moment you release something to somebody. They're going to be like, hey,
- 52:57Speaker 1: this isn't working almost immediately, or somebody touches something and
- 53:03Speaker 1: not supposed to doing it breaks. Yeah, and that I'm
- 53:06Speaker 1: not even kidding. That happened to meet over the week.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Right this week, we had something released to our to
- 53:11Speaker 1: a certain tool that I'm that I help with, and
- 53:15Speaker 1: almost immediately had a meeting with the dev team being like, hey,
- 53:20Speaker 1: these are things that they want, you know, fixed, or
- 53:22Speaker 1: that they didn't think about right, and they're immediately having
- 53:25Speaker 1: to think about like, okay, cool, we gotta put this
- 53:27Speaker 1: into the deaf schedule. What can we do in a sprint?
- 53:29Speaker 1: You know, what's something that's easy? What can't take a
- 53:32Speaker 1: little bit more time?
- 53:33Speaker 3: I have a podcast. Another one might have heard of it.
- 53:37Speaker 3: I might have talked about it once or twice. That
- 53:40Speaker 3: I have a member that is on there that actually
- 53:44Speaker 3: does fully work in it, that does things just like this. Yeah, right,
- 53:50Speaker 3: dazcre he is he is.
- 53:51Speaker 5: A full it.
- 53:53Speaker 3: He's actually he's so into it. He's now a supervisor. Right,
- 53:57Speaker 3: so he now supervised provide people like he'll he'll tell
- 54:04Speaker 3: you straight up right like you know, any in it,
- 54:08Speaker 3: anything can be done at any speed. It's just number one,
- 54:12Speaker 3: how much do you do? The biggest thing, how much
- 54:14Speaker 3: you want to spend? Right, And that becomes that becomes
- 54:18Speaker 3: a roadblock, you know, because you can do it. You
- 54:21Speaker 3: can do what you want to do. But even then
- 54:25Speaker 3: it's like, well, how much do you want to spend?
- 54:28Speaker 3: Even sometimes money can't make it happen as fast as
- 54:34Speaker 3: you want it to go. Yeah, right, you can throw
- 54:37Speaker 3: any amount of money on it, and sometimes it just
- 54:40Speaker 3: like you can't make it happen as fast as you want.
- 54:43Speaker 3: He'll be the first one to tell you that. So like,
- 54:46Speaker 3: sometimes it just happens, right. Code breaks as soon as
- 54:50Speaker 3: you shift one piece of code, the second piece of
- 54:52Speaker 3: codes now trash, you know, like it just these things
- 54:56Speaker 3: all happen. But the I think the bigger goal right
- 54:59Speaker 3: now is it's we have it right. It's here. Yeah,
- 55:03Speaker 3: it's done. There's still some lumps, but those will get
- 55:06Speaker 3: smoothed out eventually. There's a super ambitious super I mean,
- 55:11Speaker 3: if you went into thinking this like, oh, it's gonna
- 55:13Speaker 3: be done, and it's gonna be done right away and
- 55:15Speaker 3: there'll be no hiccups in the road. You I got
- 55:18Speaker 3: a bridge to sell you somewhere, right, because looking at it,
- 55:23Speaker 3: I was like, this is going to be whole, Like,
- 55:25Speaker 3: this is ambitious and going.
- 55:28Speaker 1: To be a nightmare.
- 55:30Speaker 3: I remember talking to Domino. I don't know if he's
- 55:31Speaker 3: still around. I remember talking to Domino when this game
- 55:34Speaker 3: first came out and he was telling me all about
- 55:35Speaker 3: it and I was like, this sounds like a nightmare,
- 55:39Speaker 3: and he's like why and I was like, it's a
- 55:40Speaker 3: super Like. The idea is great, the ambition is great.
- 55:45Speaker 3: The only problem is, like you're talking about like now
- 55:48Speaker 3: doing all these things and like, but you have so
- 55:54Speaker 3: many municipalities that you have to like kind of operate around, right.
- 55:59Speaker 3: I was like, a whole world's worth. That's crazy. I
- 56:04Speaker 3: was like, that's nuts. I was like, Oh, you're gonna
- 56:06Speaker 3: do I mean, you're you're talking like yeah. I was like,
- 56:09Speaker 3: you know, the rules in the UK aren't the same
- 56:11Speaker 3: as the rules as they are in Germany. Aren't the
- 56:13Speaker 3: same as the rules as they are in France, aren't
- 56:15Speaker 3: the same as the rules they are in Japan. Every
- 56:19Speaker 3: country of the world has their own set of rules
- 56:21Speaker 3: of how these things have to operate, and you have
- 56:23Speaker 3: to code all that. Yikes, that's a nightmare.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Localization alone alone, is gonna be such a daunting task,
- 56:35Speaker 1: and that's what I'm working specifically.
- 56:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it'll it'll happen, just it's gonna take some time. Now,
- 56:41Speaker 3: whether the player based sticks around long enough to see
- 56:44Speaker 3: that happen or not, that's a whole nother story. But
- 56:46Speaker 3: we've gotten totally off track here.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Well, hold on, I'm gonna I will say this about
- 56:51Speaker 1: this because you bring up a good point. Is that
- 56:54Speaker 1: with the game found, technically speaking, I feel like this
- 56:59Speaker 1: opens up more of the globe player like the global
- 57:02Speaker 1: player base.
- 57:03Speaker 3: Well, it absolutely does, right, So there again, there's goods
- 57:07Speaker 3: and bads to game phone right. Number one, it takes
- 57:10Speaker 3: some of the marketing off of them, right, so they
- 57:12Speaker 3: don't have to worry so much about marketing. Now, this
- 57:17Speaker 3: is one of my biggest gripes. Don't let game poond
- 57:19Speaker 3: do all your marketing, which clearly they're not.
- 57:22Speaker 1: Right.
- 57:22Speaker 3: They just released a whole video hopefully that's like in
- 57:25Speaker 3: an ad somewhere, and I start seeing that pop up
- 57:27Speaker 3: on my YouTube ads, all.
- 57:29Speaker 1: That got Instagram ads and stuff.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, so but don't let them do it all, right, Like,
- 57:36Speaker 3: don't don't take the easy road out, don't don't don't
- 57:39Speaker 3: do the Oh my goodness, I'm gonna say this, don't
- 57:41Speaker 3: take the reproach of only fifty percent of marketing works.
- 57:45Speaker 3: We don't know which fifty percent it is. So we're
- 57:48Speaker 3: just gonna do none of it. And we're just you know,
- 57:50Speaker 3: we're gonna we're gonna plug and pray. Don't do that.
- 57:53Speaker 3: That's stupid. That's a terrible idea. Yeah, silly, silly, silly.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Now.
- 58:00Speaker 3: Wow, and again I I had brought up my fears
- 58:05Speaker 3: for it, and Chile, you immediately hit it too. The
- 58:08Speaker 3: game store relationship. You have to have a relationship with
- 58:12Speaker 3: the game stores, right, these these guys as much as
- 58:17Speaker 3: there you know, how do I want to say this,
- 58:21Speaker 3: as much as this is the thing like when you
- 58:24Speaker 3: do stuff like this, the game store see it as like, oh,
- 58:26Speaker 3: they're trying to subvert me, right, they're trying to take me,
- 58:30Speaker 3: take take basically, take business away from me and just
- 58:35Speaker 3: put it, you know, and just go around me. Which
- 58:38Speaker 3: I hate to tell you, ninety percent of the card
- 58:41Speaker 3: games and board games and all that stuff out there
- 58:44Speaker 3: are a million percent trying to do that. Card games
- 58:50Speaker 3: are a weird bunch. They need the game store, right,
- 58:53Speaker 3: This isn't a board game. I'm actually looking at a
- 58:55Speaker 3: board game right now, Quake the board game. I love Quake.
- 58:59Speaker 3: I like board games. I'm immediately interested, right, But like,
- 59:03Speaker 3: I'm not going to go to my local game store
- 59:05Speaker 3: bring my Quake the board game, and a whole bunch
- 59:06Speaker 3: of people are not just going to be interested in playing, right,
- 59:09Speaker 3: Like that takes time to set up. However, I can't
- 59:11Speaker 3: go to my local game store and any given night
- 59:13Speaker 3: or any given night that they're playing Altered and find
- 59:16Speaker 3: a whole bunch of Altered people they're willing and ready
- 59:18Speaker 3: to play perfect. Yeah, so they need the game store.
- 59:23Speaker 3: They one hundred percent need the game store. So I
- 59:26Speaker 3: was like, what, you know, you keep telling me this,
- 59:28Speaker 3: and I was actually kind of shocked when you're like,
- 59:30Speaker 3: it's just another game found page. It's like, ooh, I
- 59:34Speaker 3: don't know how I feel about that now, Like I
- 59:36Speaker 3: kind of, you know, talking to Loki, it kind of
- 59:38Speaker 3: sounded like, well, they were just going to go through Altered, right,
- 59:41Speaker 3: They're going to go through Equinox, right, as like they
- 59:45Speaker 3: weren't going to have.
- 59:46Speaker 4: Yeah, they still go through Equinox, but it's kind of
- 59:50Speaker 4: like they've shared very little and maybe when we when
- 59:54Speaker 4: we talk to the stores a bit vulable, no more.
- 59:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 59:56Speaker 4: The difference is they don't have to pay up front
- 59:59Speaker 4: the way we would we do, So it's still the
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: back end would be through game found because that's the
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: storage of how much do we produce? Right, it's still
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: through there, but they don't have to pay up front.
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: They pay some upfront and some later. So therefore the
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: risk and the exposure from a financial perspective the stores
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: isn't going to be as high, and that will encourage
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: more stores to invest upfront and see how we go.
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: The other thing that Equinox is doing, from the sounds
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: of it, is like, and the reason I say this
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: is in the article itself says if you don't have
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: any you can go to your store to see if
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: they can order more, because they can. They're the only
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: ones that can order more. But it will be whatever
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: they've got left in the warehouse that they decided to do.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: And this is what I said, is like, it's the
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: pledges plus ten percent. But then once that's done, it's gone.
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: You had really brought up a point I didn't even
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: think about it, is I mean? And he talked a
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: little bit about it, like this is going to give
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: us an idea of how much to make. But yeah,
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: they're going to make a reserve, and like what is
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: that reserve percentage? Right, Let's say a lot of people
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: don't buy into the campaign, right, and I don't know
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: what they've set their fulfillment costs at or whatever it is.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: I'm sure it's going to be something low. But like,
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: what if a lot of people don't buy into the
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: campaign and they're like, all right, we're gonna make this
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: much yep, you know, and then.
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: The cost of every every card in this deck go
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: in this set goes hue through the room, right.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: And it doesn't mean demand. I didn't even feel like
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: that was something that totally went over my head because
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: it's like, oh, oh no, that terrible. I mean, I
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: can just imagine like it being extremely difficult to get, right, Yeah.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: I honestly feel and they now when they did the
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: AMA twenty four hours after release, they said they've already
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: had a number of orders through the stores on that
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: on that website, so they're getting they're getting some and
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: and from what we get, we're part of the MISUBI,
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: so we're hearing from members of the community that are
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: working with the stores, the positive feedback. Hey, the initial
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: thought it was like this is going to destroy our stores.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: We're not going to support you. So now saying this
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: actually makes sense, It looks good. So they're probably seeing
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: the prices and saying there is some money here for
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: us to be made where we can have a joint growth.
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: But there are a few things, like from the game
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: found and I'm going to talk my own perspective that
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: I don't like. I don't like that I have to
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: pay shipping on top of everything that we do, and
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: we don't know what that shipping cost will be right now,
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: And for me, that is a deterrent for game because
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: one thing that they have said is the stores aren't
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: going to pay shipping on their product. But we do
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: as consumers, right so that as long as it's not
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: too much of a difference, it may be okay. But
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: if it becomes quite a bit, then people may wait.
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: But once again, you don't have the guarantee that your
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: store is going to get it, even if you do
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: a pre order through them, if they haven't ordered enough,
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: and once again, we have very little time. We honestly
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: just have ten days from them. It goes live to
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: make your order and make a decision. That's not much
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: at all, which is why they had to do it
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: so early, because they have to get it and get
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: it through the production cycle so that it's available and
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: released and sent to you and received by February next year.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that was That was one of my biggest
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: one is like, this is again for a game. Found
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: is super ambitious too, because it's like, you're gonna host
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: like key Forger does two a year. You're talking, I'll
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: get at you three, three.
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: Three a year three. It will only ever be three.
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: They're keeping keeping to a four month cycle. At least
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: they've committed to do that, and I hope they don't
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: do more than that. I honestly don't want it to become. Now.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: I've never played Magic, but from what I hear, a
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: new set released every month, I would assume Pokemon is
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: very similar.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: Popermon isn't isn't but Magic. Yeah, Magic's pretty much been
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: since for since well I shouldn't say it, for the
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: past two years or so. It's been like, yeah, it
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: seems like a new set every month, so it's a
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: little crazy.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it sucks. I hate it.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: It's a lot. It's a lot like you'll because you
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: have sets, and then you've got like the universes beyond sets,
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: which are sets that sometimes are part of the standard rotation.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: Sometimes they're part of nothing. Sometimes they're standalones sometimes or
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: this sometimes it's crazy. So it doesn't sound like we'll
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: have that issue with Altered, not yet anyways. But you know,
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: I will say, I'm very interested to see how this goes.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: I'm I'm.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: I really hope the best. Obviously, it's because I really
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: haven't gotten to play anything high level, right, Like I
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: don't have a local that I can really go to
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: on any sort of consistent basis, which kind of sucks, right,
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: it is what it is. I mean, if if you're
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: in at least in Wisconsin, if you're not with if
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: you are not basically magic or are Pokemon, what are
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: you even? So it's it's kind of you know, it's
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: just it doesn't matter. Most game stars aren't messing with you.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: So it's kind of a bump. But one day, I.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: Do have two quick things because unfortunately I am gonna
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: have to dip soon. I have to judge a tournament tomorrow. Yeah,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: so I have I have two things that I want
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: to bring up real quick. First is kind of what
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: I hope that they do, and second is just a
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: fun thing that I want your opinion on. The First
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: thing is I kind of hope that they take the
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: number that they're going to produce, right, and then I
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: hope that they say, let's do a little more right,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: because here's my issue. I play Lorcana and I judge
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Lorcana for our locals here right. Fabled, which is Set nine,
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: just came out and they introduced two new rarity types
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: into the game. One of those rarity types caused such
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: an upset in distribution that Ravensburger thought that Lorcano this
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: set specifically was not going to be as popular than
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: other sets because it was mostly a reprint set for
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: set rotation, plus introducing these new rarity types, right, And
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: there have been single people who I have seen post
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: saying like, oh, we've ripped, you know, twenty five hundred
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: packs to try and get these super rare cards, these
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: new rarities. And because of that, the rest of the
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: product for everybody else is kind of dried up out.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: And the issue with that is that they're as of
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: as of recording right now, there has not been a
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: second print run, so there is almost no product to
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: be found. Game Source cannot find product at MSRP or
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: anywhere close because you had so many people buying up
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: packs that there's just nothing left for anybody else.
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: Yeah, but the difference there is they can print. What
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: they're telling us here is if you do not decide
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: to pre order, they will not print.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: More, right, right. Kind of what I'm hoping is that
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: they take that amount there and maybe do a little
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: bit over.
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: Yah, which is where what is that XP set? But
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: it's only for the stores. And honestly, if I'm a business,
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: you always err on the side of caution, and in
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: this case is having an elevated price for your cards
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: is actually a good thing for their card economy and
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: for them as a business. But also it has to
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: be enough that there's enough out there for players to
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: play exactly. And I think the difference that we have
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: here as well is because it's a digital and a
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: physical game, the ability of those cards being transferred to
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: those that need it can happen very easily, right at
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: least for digital play. For face to face, you do
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: need to do pred on demand, but that's extra money
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: for altered, right, Like they're getting their kind regardless.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: And you get your kind of oil even if there
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: is like a little bit of an excess that they
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: kind of do this where you know, they have the
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: ability to like, you know, maybe say that there is
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: plenty they're like, okay, maybe like the first five hundred
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: people who order on the specific tier, you know, get
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: anything that's left over from the previous set. Right, I
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: don't know if that's going to happen. Maybe we'll see.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: That's kind of just where I hope that it kind
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: of goes so that like they at least have some
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: contingency planned just in case.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: I think on that one, you're being a little a
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: little optimistic because right now I think I think scarcity
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: for this game might be a blessing and a curse,
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: right because again I talked about it earlier. The secondhand
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: so secondhand market is usually the telltale sign, like there's
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: a good secondhand market.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: That's usually a telltale.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: Sign of a of a CCG slash TCG that is
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: doing well. Yeah, it's a little meager side, Like I
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: love the cheapness of it. However, a lot of people
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: look at that and go, yeah, that's It's just there's like,
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: what what's the chase for me to continue? Like you
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: know you just you you yourself brought it up. What's
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: the chase right now? Like if I'm going and I'm like, man,
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: I'm gonna go buy a whole bunch of altered what what?
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: Why am I? Why am I saying that?
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: What's what? Am I?
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: Chas?
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: I got to chase something to want to open more?
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: But if there's nothing to chase, I want the heroes,
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: Well those are my cases.
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: Sure, well, Set five, this one is going to have
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: some chase cards. We haven't really talked about them. This
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: is the first time they're doing that, which I think
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: is great.
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: It definitely will, so hopefully that brings it up. We're
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: gonna round out tonight. We will go through all the
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: other that they did release some cards. We'll go over
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: all those next week when when the boys are back
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: in town real quick. The first two pledges and thank goodness,
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: Chilly to the Math because I definitely didn't. You got
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: the Discovery pack, which is going to get you one
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: Beyond the Gates Booster one, Trial by Frost Booster one
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: Whispers from the Maze Boost Basically, you're in a booster
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: from every set released thus far, right beyond Trials, Whisper,
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: sky Bound Seeds.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: Yeah, one of each.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: And it looks like, are you getting a collector booster too? No, No,
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: it's just the two starter decks each. The collector booster
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: has to stripe down the side, so you're gonna tas
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: the two new starter decks. Well, is there going to
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: be just the two or are there going to be three?
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: There's only two, so they're releasing two per set at
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: the moment. So we believe that's going to happen for
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: Set six and Set seven, so that every faction has
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: a new new starter deck. But one thing that's different here,
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: and I think it's really cool to know, is every
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: starter deck is going to have a unique good.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: I agree, But.
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: The one of my qualms as well is the unique
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: is from only a set family of cards. It's not
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: from the could be from any of the cards that
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: you have, any of the characters. And I don't like
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: that because it's forcing it's forcing people to buy starter
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: decks if they want a unique of a certain cat
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: hero and it's going to a certain character, and it's
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: going to make those ones come up because you're paying
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: a lot more just to get it back.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: Sure, but that's also again also a good kind of
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: a good thing. Also instead of one unique, I think
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: they should like these. I I feel that these should
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: come ready to play, right, I should be able three uniques,
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: three uniques, random random uniques in faction. Of course, they
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: got to be playable, right, right.
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: Then they need to increase it from more than twenty
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: dollars a box scent.
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: And you know what, well would they.
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: If they're trying to create the price the price of
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: uniques on average or about five dollars.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: Each, right, So you're still ahead of that. Maybe you're
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: still out of the curve, but this could this could
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: easy because the biggest, the biggest paint, biggest pain in
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: the ass of this game is the three uniques, right,
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: having three uniques that you're able to slap into your
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: deck right away. I mean one of you I saw
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: with the tag, neither of you have it. Never mind
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: the non unique, the no unique challenge, right, Like that's
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: I love that thing because the biggest pain in my
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: ass is always the uniques. Every single time. It's always
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: the uniques, because it's not like what I can have
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: three more rares if I don't have no uniques. Nope,
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: we gotta go down to common, right, So now you're
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: just putting yourself in a total disadvantage. Give new players
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: the opportunity to buy one of these and be able
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: to play it right out of the box. I mean
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: they can, now, that's fair, but not feel because so
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: many starter decks. You buy a starter deck for your
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: fifteen well it used to be fifteen ninety nine, but
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: fifteen ninety nine, nineteen ninety nine, whatever the case may be,
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: and you always always always feel like you're so damn handicapped. Yeah,
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: give them the three uniques. Let them play it right
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: out of the box. Then they can tweak it and
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: adjust it and change it however they see fit. But
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: they still have three uniques they get't change.
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: No, I really love that idea. So if you buy
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: the Discovery pack, you get two uniques in it, guaranteed,
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: one in each of the starter decks. And then the
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: other thing they've done is the box itself. The booster
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: packs to get uniques used to be one in eight.
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: It is now one in six because they've reduced the
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: size of the booster box from thirty six to twenty four.
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: But you're still getting the same percentage chance of getting uniques.
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: I think that's useful. That's good to know because that's
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: the chase, right.
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: Yeah, But the second tier is the exploration pack. What
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: does one nineteen, one hundred and nineteen euros come up to?
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: I say about what thirty? Yeah, well just say, but
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: you get a collector booster.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: But you get a collector booster. Now what comes in
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: those collector boosters?
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: Boys, we're gonna find out on the twenty first. We
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: already know, yeah, we already know. Yep, oh I thought
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: I said in Collector Boosters revealed on October twenty second.
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: The rates of what you get are going to be
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: really a go ahead, go ahead, go ahead, Well you
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: can say it if you know.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: Oh no, I was just going to read it right
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: from here on the cluster boosters, there's a true treasure
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: filled a true treasure filled with foil cards, alternate artwork, uniques,
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: and exalted cards. So I don't know the numbers of
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: each one that what's all coming in there, but I
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: know I know, well, I guess I kind of figured
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: the rates would be much better at pulling uniques in
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: there being being the collector booster and all.
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: Yeah, and there's the and they the collective boosters are
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: fifteen cord packs rather than twelve cord packs. M hm.
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: And they are all foil cards, so everything you get
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: is foiled, whereas in the regular packs none of them
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: are foiled. And they got rid of the foiler.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Perfect, yes, because I think those are going I don't remember,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: just get rid of it.
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: But just get rid of those all together. Just get
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: rid of those, the foiler cards, all those interesting silly
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: QR codes, Just deep six those, right, But you got
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: to keep.
- 1:16:09Speaker 4: The QE off because you have to make the game
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: digital unless they make it a little bit.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, I'm saying.
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: I'm saying the foiler cards, like the foiler like all
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: those all those random insert cards. You can just throw
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: those right in the bin, because I think there's I
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: I don't like them. I think they're silly. I think
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: like I guess, buying packs to get them is fine.
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: If I want a card foil, just charge me money,
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: don't make me buy extra packs or because nine times
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: out of ten, I'm probably just gonna buy one off
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: a buddy, right instead of buying another pack. That's right,
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: So you're really probably not making any money if I
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: don't own the card in foil already. Just charge me
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: an extra buck or two to make the card foil.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: Yeah right, just let's say, cut out the middleman. I
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: have one last thing, all right, one last thing, and
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: then we're gonna we're gonna ride into this sunset.
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: Okay. If you guys are not aware that, I will
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: screenshot it very quickly for you and I will send
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: it to you because I really want to know this.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: So the hex SARCs, you know, is a new thing.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: The leaders of the Rika, they're coming out with those
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: boys and girls and guys, gals, gays and days, you know,
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: keep everybody cool. Yeah, everyone involved. There's one perfection. Yeah,
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: and we already know two of them, the names of
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: the Middle East and what they do.
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, we know what those six look like though,
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: because they've.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Asked and Malarrose, which Malarrose can get out of here?
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: Gross looking guy in my opinion or person individual, I
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: want to know who your two favorite looking ones are
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: and what factions you think they are.
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: I did not see this, Okay, we'll send it.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: To you very quickly. Don't look at the mess. Yeah,
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: it's on the plane att. Okay, so it's under accessories.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: I'm sending you screenshot right now so you can take
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: a look accessories.
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: I like the Bravos one for me, looks really cool.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: Who do you think is the Bravos one in terms of.
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: Who the character's name, I have no idea. It's the
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: second one. They're actually in order on the mat there
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: in order Axiom mna orders.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: Oh I didn't even catch that. That is okay, dang.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: I thought it was going to be like a little fun.
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: Little Yeah, they're in alphabetical order.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: Yeah it makes sense, Yeah it is.
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: Yeah, they're they're even the color they're using the colors yet.
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: Yeah, the one on the end could be Lira.
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: But we now. For me, the ordest one just reminds
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: me of Storm, and I love Storm from the X Men,
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: so that you go.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Good point. I've been exclusively playing Lyra this set, and
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: I don't like the Lyra looking one.
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: He's a weird looking cat.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: I think my favorite one, if I'm going to be
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: one hundred percent honest, is Axiom. Just looks so freaking cool.
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: The Axiom looks cool. The the Yeas Marijuan interests.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: Me the most. Yeah, kind of like they mask with
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: the like gladiators.
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: But I hate to tell you she is or he.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: I guess I don't know what that character is. That's
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: a field of some sort.
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like a it's like a soccer field or
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: a soccer pitch, I guess would be the proper term.
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: That's that's a sports field of some sort.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: Yeah, So what's what's going on there?
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: No idea, it's gonna be good.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Are we gonna get fantasy as Gartha Sports?
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Oh my god? Can you imagine?
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: It's gonna be good.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: Oh, we're gonna start betting on imaginary fantasy.
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: That's gonna be the next team Bolts. It's gonna be
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: uh the fantasy fantasy Fantasy Sports which wins as Garth
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: e Quidditch. Oh my goodness, Yeah, I know. I guess
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: I didn't see this? Is this in the game?
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: Found? Yeah?
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: It's both the article. Yeah, it's right, yeah, right to
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: the very and to be honest, if you look through
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: it all, they've probably revealed the art for about fifty
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: cards through both the Seeds of Unity preview and this,
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: which is really cool, Like what does it all mean?
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie. I'm probably gonna get the fan pack,
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: but immediately sell probably three of those play mats to friends.
- 1:20:35Speaker 4: Oh cool. Then and then I'll get the play mat
- 1:20:37Speaker 4: off you.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: I want the I just I genuinely just want the
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: Seeds of Unity mat, like the heck sirs one is fine.
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I also want the plushy, so I'll get the.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Plushy oftting a woly backer. You kidding me?
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: You cannot That's one thing we know you cannot get
- 1:20:52Speaker 4: from the stores.
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: Yeah, the plushies, let me tell you. Yeah, I never
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: understood them. I never well understand and them.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: But if it's.
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and people will pay a fortune for them.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: The only other thing that I will say is get
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: your accessories from this game found They are dirt freaking cheap.
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: Yeah they look twenty three euros for a play matt
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: that does seem cheap.
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: Say thirty bucks for a play mat, which here's the
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: fun part.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: The cards layer, that is the altered edition one from
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: Game Genic is sixty euros, which is I think is
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: like seventy five bucks.
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: That's foiled too, right, this is the card boiling treatment
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: all the card box.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, like the specific game Genic altered card box
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: is like a thousand count like the fancy deck wallet thing.
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: It's seventy seventy two dollars. That's pretty true cheap normally
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: paying one hundred bucks normally. So even the prime matt
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: is pretty good. Like the accessories here are a pretty
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: good discount and what you'd normally play at a store.
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: Man, dude, I believe another game I'm into has released
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: the plushy.
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: Oh you have no idea, how much like try to
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: get this out there?
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: No, I know once one's out there. Key Forge released
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: to plushies and people went absolutely bananas over them.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. I will be surprised if
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: the plushy is not the best selling thing in this game.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: That percent will be Like I'm not.
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: From an accessory expecting you gotta buy more boxes, right
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: for sure?
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: No thing will sell boxes almost like yeah, for whatever,
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: gonna be the reason people lose their ever loving mind
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: over plushies.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: And over fist. They're gonna make money out these plates.
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: They released the Fuzzy Gruin Plushy and the flum Plushy
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: for key Forge and people people and every time, because
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: they still have a bunch of them, left over that
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: they'll give out a like big events and whatnot. And
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: every time one of those up is up for grabs,
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: people just like Lute, they will they do whatever is
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: necessary to get them.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: And it is so silly.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: I'm just like guys, it's it's a plushy, Like I
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: don't see because for me, like I buy a plushy,
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: it's gonna it's gonna sit in my kids plushy net
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: that's in the corner of the room and it will
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: never see the light of day. I guess. I don't know,
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: Like that's just me.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: Oh trust me. I have plushies golare in my house.
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: Chili can tell you. I have never been a stuff everywhere.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: It's not me, it's my wife. It's my wife. And
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: you know what, I'm kind of here for it because
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: she bought me a plushy last night and I sleep
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: with that thing.
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: Now.
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: Well, oh cool.
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: I know where we're about to go, But I think
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: I'll want to reiterate something that's on the marketing for
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: or game found that I think is good to know
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: in terms of the reach that this game has had.
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: So they've said millions of cards are scanned every month.
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: I know there's a question on how which is actually
- 1:24:00Speaker 4: scan how much is it is just tabletop? Right? One
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: point five million games played on BGA That is ridiculous
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: in a.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: Year, not bad.
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: Six hundred thousand transactions have occurred on the marketplace already,
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: twenty thousand pod cards have been printed, and three thousand
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: new accounts are created each month. So from a perspective
- 1:24:22Speaker 4: of is the game going, yes, where are these what
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: they want? I don't know it. The thing is especially
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: or not Europe.
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: Europe, Europe, it's it's it's we know, it's big in Europe.
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: I mean every time they have an event, it's always
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: twelve hundred people, fifteen hundred people. You know, it's always
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: just they have massive amounts of people in Europe, and
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: Europe is no shot. Well Europe Europe is huge into
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: board and this. Oh no, yeah, this is a card
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: game for board gamers, right, same thing as keyboards. It
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: is a card it is It is a board game
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: that is played with the deck of cards, right for
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: all intentsive purposes.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: So, oh my god, what are you? What are you?
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: You're freaking out over there? No?
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: No, no, okay, no, now you know what I feel
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: like every time I have a podcast with him. He
- 1:25:14Speaker 4: gets excited that I'll love it.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: No, no, no, I did know. I genuinely I am.
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: I did the math right on. You said one point
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: five million games played on BGA to date, right, that's
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: not including in stores, just on BGA. If you do
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: the math, one point five million. This is just off
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: of the baseline of one point five right. If you
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: divide that by a full year, that is four thousand
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: games played a day.
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: That blows my mind.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: That's that played every hour.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: You divide that.
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: One just under two hundred games an hour.
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: A right, Well dang, and I realize, oh wait, I'm
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: dealing with an accountant, so that means any hour you
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: go on any single day. Yeah, it's just under two
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: hundred games are being played.
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: At minimum, at a minimum. Yeah, and one thing so fow.
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: But eventually they the platform for BGA is not the
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: most stable, Like, yeah, it's not. It's not made for
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: competitive gaming. It's made for casual gaming. And we like
- 1:26:25Speaker 4: that they've using it as a very much competitive centric
- 1:26:28Speaker 4: the The future of of Altered is very much hand
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: in hand with b GA in terms of tournament structures
- 1:26:38Speaker 4: and getting places for worlds.
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: Yeah, so very very thin. That's why they're dropped pre releases.
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: I don't I think that's a bad move. The best
- 1:26:50Speaker 4: chances of bringing new people in.
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: You guys want to you guys want to know why
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: I think they dropped pre releases? Me why it's Asthma Day.
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: Asthma Day dropped so Asbadet has done that, Asbade is
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: well known for doing this. They really dropped the ball
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: on pre releases, right, And I know you guys had it.
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: You had some stores that had, hey, it's pre release
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: weekend and I have no kits. Sweet yep, Hey it's
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: pre release weekend. I have two kits, so I literally
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: have two people play in the pre release, right, So
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: you have enough of those, and the store goes, well,
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: why am I going to do a pre release? I'm
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: going I'm going to order them and then I'm gonna
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: get two kits and then maybe some of them show
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: up later, maybe they don't, but by the time I
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: get them now I'm stuck a pre release kits.
- 1:27:51Speaker 4: Yeah, so what Yeah? Do you know what though? If
- 1:27:55Speaker 4: if you are going to buy the end, I actually
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: think it's better to buy a pre release kit than
- 1:28:02Speaker 4: it is to buy a box if because you almost
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: it almost cost you the same for thirty six packs
- 1:28:07Speaker 4: in the pre release or thirty seven packs, oh sorry,
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: thirty five packs of pre release or thirty thirty six
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: packs in the box because you get more uniques. You
- 1:28:17Speaker 4: do because you're guaranteed it.
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: You need guaranteed it. I think you might see it
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: come back in six, six or seven.
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: I think so too. I think people that I think
- 1:28:24Speaker 4: remember we were going to also say this happened so
- 1:28:28Speaker 4: quickly from an est when they were when they were
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: advised like to create a pre release kit. But the
- 1:28:34Speaker 4: thing that we also heard is there's no tool or
- 1:28:36Speaker 4: kit for the set four. Because of the relationship with
- 1:28:39Speaker 4: ASTHMDE it felt like it was just like, screw you guys,
- 1:28:42Speaker 4: We're not going to do it because you're leaving or whatever.
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: It was probably exactly, and there's no I really, really,
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: really there's not going to be. I think you'll see
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: pre releases come back next set or because of game
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: found and store release, if they can get it all
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: in a certain way right because we don't have pre
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: releases in key Forge anymore. We did for the first
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: time and then and then we didn't because basically game
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: pound is your pre release, right, because the game found
- 1:29:13Speaker 3: typically comes out before before store release. I know they
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: said they plant all at the same time. We'll see
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: how ultimately.
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: So Alternative said they're going to give the stores their
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: product first.
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: So therefore, but how do you ship in a month
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: of I want to know the I I want the
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: logistics in that right, So what I ship? So Week one,
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: I shipped the store of their product. Week two, I
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: shipped everyone else their product or to all right, so
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: it's January, I'm shipping store product. In February, I'm shipping
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: people of their product. I need more context there, because
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: I'll guarantee you they just it was. It was number one,
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: the relationship everything that went easy with Asthma day, and
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: number two the like the logistics of shipping two stores
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: and people. There's no way to guarantee. I know you
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: can say that they're going to get the stores are
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: going to get their stuff first. That's great. I don't
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: know if they can guarantee that.
- 1:30:17Speaker 4: It's true. They cannot gain it. And actually it is
- 1:30:20Speaker 4: exactly what Eric said is like, hey, our plan is
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: for this, but we can't guarantee it because we also
- 1:30:25Speaker 4: don't know if shipping, like this is the first time
- 1:30:27Speaker 4: they're trying it. Then I do hope we're a little
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: bit patient with it. But at the same time, like
- 1:30:33Speaker 4: if you show up to an event and the store
- 1:30:35Speaker 4: hasn't got their their product, you're going to feel like
- 1:30:39Speaker 4: completely deviralized because you came for a new new set. Now,
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: I hope the stores do something that I've seen other
- 1:30:45Speaker 4: games do, or at least some of the stores do,
- 1:30:48Speaker 4: is a week beforehand they'll tell if they haven't received
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: their product, they'll just say it, we're going to defer
- 1:30:53Speaker 4: it for the following week, sure, and have the pre
- 1:30:55Speaker 4: release another day. Unfortunately, but at least you're not coming
- 1:30:59Speaker 4: to the event without that prior knowledge.
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: But you might. You might definitely see him come back
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: for sure that they might once.
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: They get such a good kid.
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: This was was so hasty, you know. I I really
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: I would love to be able to fly on the
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: wall when this whole thing went down, right, because I
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: kind of I kind of got an idea because I
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: do have some ends with the key Forge guys who
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: weird story also left Asthma Day to do their own
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: thing because Asthma Day was really dropping the ball. So
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: I'm really, you know, it's just I want to know
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: all you ask the questions when you have them on here,
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: and then they go, we don't know or I can't
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: talk about that, and it's like.
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: Ah, yeah, So I will say the only thing I
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: will say negatively about Asthma day is look, man, not
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: everybody's gonna play Star Wars.
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: That's their hope, but.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: Star Wars unlimited star Wars.
- 1:31:56Speaker 4: But I love Star Wars as a franchise and everything.
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: But even playing the game was fun. But one thing,
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: I lost my love out of it, and like after
- 1:32:08Speaker 4: set three. But you know it's still it's people love
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: the game. So if they love the game, then then
- 1:32:13Speaker 4: it's it's good. The hard point is they basically put
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: all their eggs into that game at the.
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: And they're shoving it down people's throats. Well it's kind
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: of getting it. But at what time are asthmade? See
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: that's ah, it's another asthmade thing, right, it's my only thing.
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: Do you remember? Does anybody remember Star Wars Destiny?
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: Yeah? And then that died.
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: It was it was a decent game and it didn't die.
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: They killed it. Yeah, I think they decided to do fantastic.
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: They just decided that they weren't going to support it anymore,
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: and it was completely out of left field. And it's
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: just it's Asthma Day is such a flavor of the
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: month company, right, and as soon as something doesn't go
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: their way, they're like, well fuck that what we got
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: in the happen?
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: What are we question now?
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: Just one thing?
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: The relationship between Equinox and as the Day is not
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: fractured or stopped everywhere. So one thing, one thing of note,
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: like Chile is still going to be distributed by Asthma Day.
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: They they they have a really strong relationship. I don't
- 1:33:22Speaker 4: now believe Southeast Asia as well, just because they just
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: don't have the distribution network there to make it work.
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: And they have a really good relationship. They work really well.
- 1:33:32Speaker 4: Unlike what we've seen, or at least what we've heard
- 1:33:35Speaker 4: from the relationship here in the States and the stores
- 1:33:37Speaker 4: other countries seem to do better than the North American side.
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: I would say, to be honest with you, for at least
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: at least the North American side, there's nowhere to go
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: but up.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: That's why I agree.
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: I agree, So I honestly feel there is nowhere to
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: go but up. As the day in North America. I
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: have made my thoughts well known on them. They are
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: hot trash on a good day. At their best, they
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: are just garbage. I don't even want to see them
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: at their at their worst day. So I mean, I
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: think that I wonder, I really wonder if the tipping
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: point and I said we're going to get out here
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: a while ago, and where I swear we will know
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: it's been half an I think I think the end
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: the end of the honeymoon. I guess that's the only
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: way I'm going to say it. What was that was
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: that packs east where they went like they like game
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: Jenk was just like, oh, yeah, we don't have your matts,
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: and we don't have this, and we don't have that,
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: and all the stuff that we told you we were
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: going to have, we got none of it, so good
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: luck and kind of walked away.
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: They think that was the Seriously, that's what happened.
- 1:34:51Speaker 4: They told him. They told him a few weeks before
- 1:34:54Speaker 4: the event, not all the event that.
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: Had a few weeks might well been the same day, right.
- 1:35:01Speaker 4: Yeah, But then but then also like in terms of this,
- 1:35:05Speaker 4: I can say this because I wasn't there, and I'm
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: just hearing from a whole bunch of people, so they
- 1:35:08Speaker 4: can decide to get after me and they can say
- 1:35:11Speaker 4: it's say whatever. But there was also like they were
- 1:35:15Speaker 4: given no people, no preparation, no anything. Hey, do what
- 1:35:20Speaker 4: you can with what you've got, good luck kind of stuff.
- 1:35:22Speaker 4: And that's normally when you go through the distributor, they're
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: meant to actually provide your people, provide the storefront. And
- 1:35:29Speaker 4: they had Cole and whoever else was there, and Cole
- 1:35:33Speaker 4: I always mentioned Cold Blue was there as well, Simon,
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: just trying to do their best to help out together
- 1:35:38Speaker 4: free labor, just to help with the game, when that
- 1:35:41Speaker 4: should have been the responsibility of the store outside sorry,
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: of the distributor, outside of just saying this is your table.
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: Right, are you kidding me?
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: Nope, no, yeah, this is from my understanding, it was
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: the same way. It was literally like here's your tables
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: and they're like, oh, what about this? And they're like nah,
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: and they're like, well we're about this. Uh huh, Well
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: now okay, that was that game Jenner or was that
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: Asthma Day. It's a little column, well, I mean game
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: Jenik is Asthma Day column A column B right, little
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: column as Meda is the.
- 1:36:13Speaker 4: Distributor, is the one that blocks the tables and sets
- 1:36:16Speaker 4: everything up right because they're the ones by the seats.
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: But anyway, once again, like absolutely bent, are you kidding me?
- 1:36:23Speaker 4: But if you look at it from a business perspective,
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: do you focus now you should never not help, but
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: do you focus on your ninety percent cash cow or
- 1:36:33Speaker 4: do you focus on your five to ten percent maybees
- 1:36:37Speaker 4: In businesses, you still have to do something right. But
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: it felt like they just completely did nothing right.
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: Right, They just didn't do anything. And I completely understand that, like, okay,
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: Star Wars, you got all your eggs in the Star
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: Wars basket. Holy like, don't make promises you can't deliver
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: on right, Like look at my opinions are like we're
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: not going to do this, like let them know and
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: like give the rights and the freedom to go to
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: another company to like get something done, because I mean
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: I can only imagine you know, oh, two weeks prior,
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: like no we don't, we don't have any of your stuff,
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: and it's like, well what happened? And I just like
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: I just.
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: Didn't do it.
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: Now I go into my bas if we all went
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: to our blasses tomorrow right, and are like, hey do
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: you work and we're like yeah, totally got the order,
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: but no, like we're all looking for new jobs, right like,
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: And I think that's kind of what happened here, was like, yeah,
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: this this ain't going away. We thought it was.
- 1:37:36Speaker 4: On the other side, we're going to get a chance
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: to see how Equinox does it on their own. They
- 1:37:40Speaker 4: are have ad guys today that they're going to do
- 1:37:45Speaker 4: spiel on their own, So we'll see how that operates
- 1:37:49Speaker 4: for them at the end of October. Maybe maybe it's
- 1:37:51Speaker 4: not on their own. Maybe Equinox is still helping them,
- 1:37:54Speaker 4: but since they're promoting Set five, they may not.
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: No, as far as I understand that, like that whole thing,
- 1:38:00Speaker 3: and that was one of the things earlier I was
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: going to say, is that's going to be the big
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: hit is now they're not going to be at the
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: Pax East, They're not going to be at gen Cons,
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: They're not going to you know, Equinox might not be there,
- 1:38:12Speaker 3: you know, the low Kis and this and that and
- 1:38:14Speaker 3: everything else might not be there to do it, so
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: they'll have to figure out a different way of doing
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: you know. It's interesting, but spiels like right, next door, right, Like,
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: that's that's literally a hop, skip and jump away.
- 1:38:26Speaker 4: So now I'll say that like if Equinox asked, and
- 1:38:31Speaker 4: I'll use a wall as kind of the team. Given
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: they're probably the biggest presidence here in the States to
- 1:38:36Speaker 4: do some of it, and and a few of us
- 1:38:39Speaker 4: work together to do it, would we be willing to
- 1:38:42Speaker 4: do it if they at least Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: And many would exactly do it for free as long
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: as as long as our flights and accommodation and food
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: is to you.
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: I don't gaid. Just pay for my hotel. That's all
- 1:38:56Speaker 3: I need. I'll figure out I pay.
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: For one of the other with no they together, and
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: I'm fine just for me, just for me.
- 1:39:03Speaker 4: Okay, But I'll say, like, if you're you're running a
- 1:39:05Speaker 4: legitimate business, you can at least cover that, right. I
- 1:39:08Speaker 4: may not pay you, and they can pay us through product.
- 1:39:10Speaker 4: I think most of us would be happy with product.
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: Right, I would be thrilled with product. I don't need product, though,
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: Pay for my flight, pay for my hotel, and tell
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: you what you can. I'll room with coal, right, like,
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: you know what I mean? But bunk two up? I mean, shoot,
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: there's four of us in one room for for I
- 1:39:30Speaker 3: got a basement and I got a guest bedroom. So
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: if you guys want to do event in Utah, I
- 1:39:35Speaker 3: got space, trust saying like, you know, we'll figure this out, right,
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: Like there's plenty of floor space, you know, Like, well,
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: I got an air mattress and I'll blow that up
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: on a floor and sleep on the floor and you know,
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: coal on one side. One of you guys like whatever,
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: you know, I'm good, right, Like, it's just pay for
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: my flight, pay for the hotel. I'll figure out the
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: food because I mean literally, the hotel rooms are just
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: a place stuff put your stuff when you're you know, sleeping.
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: Anyways. Yeah, this is now that I know all this
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: stuff about Asbene. By the way, I know, I'm so sorry.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: I know we all have to go to bed. We
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: all have We're all very big.
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: You're the one who's got a dudge of tournaments tomorrow.
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: It's horrible crazy.
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: I mean I do get I do get store credit,
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: which is fine. It makes me wonder now about like
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: the con like the contract between Asbene and Equinox, and
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: even though as Mine probably acted in bad faith, if
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: they were able to like squirm their way out of
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: a non compete or like like like put their foot
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: down on a non compete. And that's why Game found
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: is the only option that they have right now, well
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: to compete with.
- 1:40:43Speaker 4: Like, they still own part of Equinox, just so you know,
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: they are an owner of an Equinox. So why would
- 1:40:48Speaker 4: you shoot yourself in the foot for a company you
- 1:40:50Speaker 4: partially own.
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: I don't think they're y.
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:40:54Speaker 4: I thought that they got given certain shares into.
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: The company, shares under the comp but yeah, but just
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: an investment. But yeah, I mean they do. I don't
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: think they own it. I would have to ask everywhere.
- 1:41:10Speaker 4: And anywhere on this on this customer.
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: We're gonna do the game fou. Yeah, we're just gonna
- 1:41:15Speaker 3: do the game Found. Look at this nice simple outline
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: and it just kind of went all over the place.
- 1:41:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm sorry, we didn't script.
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it just it makes me wonder, like what kind
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: of legal ramifications there were, and like if maybe that's
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: why they have to go game founded, not through another
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: distribution company.
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: Well, because they're allowed to distribute through other distribution companies. Yeah,
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: they're allowed to go through other people. There's there's no
- 1:41:37Speaker 3: there's no stopping them. But Game Found because I you know,
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: this is one of the questions I asked Loki when
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: he was on Game Found, is just kind of giving
- 1:41:46Speaker 3: them the idea, And like like Chilia said earlier, like
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: it's giving them the idea because again, small company, right,
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: you don't want to mass over produce.
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: That's that's fair.
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: You want to kind of get a grip on what
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: the market wants, produce what the market wants, plus a
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: little bit extra, right, and then that's it. And then
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: you can either move on to your next set or
- 1:42:09Speaker 3: shut down production because again you produce too much and
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: flood the market with this stuff. Well, if nobody can
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: give it away, it's worth zero dollars to the stores,
- 1:42:19Speaker 3: to you, to anybody. And if a store can't sell it,
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: guess what, they're probably not buying the next set.
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: So that's probably a good point, right, Yeah, that's true.
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: It as a gauge, and I was like that that
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: really actually makes financial and physical sense, like using it
- 1:42:35Speaker 3: as that gauge to be like, oh, this is how
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: much we need to produce and we're kind of going
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: to go from there.
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: So trying to make good financial decisions.
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: Somebody's got it because it ain't me.
- 1:42:47Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, play cut games is not a good financial
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: decision in most cases, long it is, but it is fun.
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: It is funny. I'll say this for me. This game
- 1:42:56Speaker 4: has been a nice release, a nice tract it to
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: just the regular day to day, and.
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: So I give it, give it two sets of this
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: toe what happens?
- 1:43:08Speaker 3: And we just said you were giving it a year, which.
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: Is roughly two seids.
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: No, it'sore. We've already been through the maths. We already
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: did the math. You gotta stay at least the next.
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: I'm bad at math. That that's why I'm a linguist.
- 1:43:25Speaker 3: Okay, well, but Matt's gonna do it for us this week.
