- 1:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what this is. This is group therapy.
- 1:12Speaker 1: So the support group. The thing that and just like
- 1:16Speaker 1: that is most effective at is making me want to
- 1:19Speaker 1: watch of the City not being a good TV show
- 1:23Speaker 1: because I fucking hated this episode oh so much. Wow,
- 1:30Speaker 1: and you know a lot you know that this season
- 1:33Speaker 1: I have been in many ways and and just like
- 1:35Speaker 1: that apologist and have really been searching for the good
- 1:40Speaker 1: and baby, there was nothing good about this episode.
- 1:44Speaker 2: It was bad and the words of Ticket and Sarah.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Where does the good go? Where did the god? What? Okay?
- 1:51Speaker 1: Why do I do this with you?
- 1:54Speaker 2: Okay, So not to be me, but I this is
- 1:58Speaker 2: an episode that I actually really a lot. I'm not
- 2:01Speaker 2: gonna lie I hate you, but you so you know.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I actually thought you were gonna like it. Same thing
- 2:07Speaker 2: with Barbie. I really thought you were gonna like it.
- 2:09Speaker 2: I thought that we were gonna be on the same
- 2:11Speaker 2: page again. But it's not.
- 2:12Speaker 1: It's not. Let me little friend, and we are always
- 2:14Speaker 1: going to disagree about everything.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna defend the Barbie movie. Let me be clear
- 2:19Speaker 2: about something. I have no interest in defending this Like.
- 2:21Speaker 2: This isn't something where I'm like it was amazing. It's
- 2:24Speaker 2: just like, Oh, that was an episode of TV that
- 2:27Speaker 2: did not make me, did not make my skin crawl
- 2:31Speaker 2: from head to toe. Outside of the moment when Cynthia
- 2:35Speaker 2: Nixon said lgbt QI a.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Dating sites, I could I never needed to hear Cynthia
- 2:44Speaker 1: Nixon utter that acronym, and I wish I could scrub
- 2:48Speaker 1: my brain out so I didn't have to experience it.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I am just so furious that they have been fucking
- 2:58Speaker 1: teasing us all season about Aiden coming back. We've been
- 3:03Speaker 1: teasing us for months, for almost a year at this point,
- 3:07Speaker 1: and then he was in the last eight minutes of
- 3:12Speaker 1: the episode or less potentially, and then there's only like
- 3:16Speaker 1: three episodes left of the season.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Do you think he's gonna be in the next three episode?
- 3:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he's going to be in the rest
- 3:22Speaker 1: of them heavily. But the fact that he was barely
- 3:26Speaker 1: in this one, this is the thing that I keep
- 3:29Speaker 1: coming back to. Carrie Bradshaw is a tertiary side character
- 3:34Speaker 1: in the series. She is the protagonist of and instead
- 3:38Speaker 1: the protagonist seems to be LTW and her son and
- 3:42Speaker 1: his slutty high school girlfriend.
- 3:45Speaker 2: It feels like one of the reasons that Michael Patrick
- 3:49Speaker 2: King decided to rename the franchise, right, it's not Sex
- 3:53Speaker 2: and the City the reboot, it's a new show called
- 3:55Speaker 2: and just like that. I think that is in part
- 3:59Speaker 2: because he wanted people like us to like not compare
- 4:05Speaker 2: the two and so like and just like that, I
- 4:06Speaker 2: feel like it's go I know, right exactly, And I
- 4:10Speaker 2: was like, I also feel like he's trying to make
- 4:12Speaker 2: and just like that more of like an ensemble piece.
- 4:15Speaker 2: So it's like about all these characters that we don't
- 4:17Speaker 2: really give a fuck about. It's like, I don't care
- 4:19Speaker 2: that Chadeas is now going to be working at like
- 4:21Speaker 2: a pet adoption. Are you.
- 4:25Speaker 1: That? Are you me? It was bad enough that last
- 4:29Speaker 1: week we had Chay in a plotline with Harry, but
- 4:34Speaker 1: now we're going to get solo scenes of Chay and
- 4:37Speaker 1: it's about all like rescuing dogs. They every time they
- 4:42Speaker 1: introduced a new side character who I'm not interested in,
- 4:46Speaker 1: that character then gets like two other characters with them
- 4:51Speaker 1: to create even more plots that I never want to see.
- 4:56Speaker 3: I didn't even realize it was dogs. I thought it
- 4:58Speaker 3: was like supposed to be like the lg ME tea setters.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Well because well because you know, yeah, yeah, exactly yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And that Miranda, well okay, that was the one part
- 5:12Speaker 1: of the episode that I did enjoy was the fact
- 5:14Speaker 1: that Miranda's love interest in this episode it was played
- 5:18Speaker 1: was played by Miriam Shore from Younger, which is another
- 5:22Speaker 1: horrible show, but the one that I enjoyed a lot
- 5:24Speaker 1: much more than I'm just like that. So her showing
- 5:28Speaker 1: up is this lesbian audiobook narrator who does like Dike
- 5:35Speaker 1: pride of Prejudice reads like I don't understand. To me,
- 5:39Speaker 1: the math is not mathing there because like women who
- 5:42Speaker 1: are horny for Pride and Prejudice are like horny for
- 5:45Speaker 1: mister Darcy and not Mixed Darcy. So it just made
- 5:50Speaker 1: no sense. And then I did I guess I liked
- 5:54Speaker 1: the realism of her shitty little New York City studio,
- 6:00Speaker 1: but it just I am so continuously confused and disappointed
- 6:08Speaker 1: by this damn TV show.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I have so many different things running through my head,
- 6:12Speaker 2: but first and foremost, Phoebe, what do we think about
- 6:16Speaker 2: Mixed Darcy? And what do we and do we think
- 6:19Speaker 2: Miranda's a lesbian?
- 6:20Speaker 3: I felt like at home in Sex and the City
- 6:23Speaker 3: because it was yet another offensive portrayal of a lesbian.
- 6:28Speaker 3: It's like the one lesbian, the first lesbian Miranda dates
- 6:32Speaker 3: like steps in cap poop while they're making out, Like I.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Just it could not be. It could not be more
- 6:40Speaker 1: of a lesbian stereotype if I.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Think lesbians know how to not step in their own
- 6:45Speaker 3: litter box, like come on.
- 6:47Speaker 2: And also what I did not I was like she
- 6:49Speaker 2: was hot a flip it like this?
- 6:50Speaker 1: What I did like about it was that it felt
- 6:53Speaker 1: like an og sex in the city, romantic subplot like
- 6:58Speaker 1: a boyfriend of the a a girlfriend of the week.
- 7:02Speaker 1: You know, in this new world where Miranda is a lesbian,
- 7:06Speaker 1: we don't know. I mean, I don't think Carrie should
- 7:08Speaker 1: be making lesbian jokes as freely as she is. I mean,
- 7:12Speaker 1: the streatest woman in existence, she's really like saying them
- 7:16Speaker 1: with her whole chest. Oh yeah, and Miranda is clearly
- 7:19Speaker 1: not deep enough in her queerness to be like, you
- 7:22Speaker 1: actually can't say that, but I want her to stand
- 7:25Speaker 1: up for herself. If you want to hear all of
- 7:30Speaker 1: our thoughts about men just like that, go to patreon
