- 0:00Speaker 1: You just heard the news. Now you'll find out what
- 0:03Speaker 1: it all means. He smarks alone on seven tenor.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hey, it's almost Friday and getting there. Hey, a lot
- 0:17Speaker 2: to get to. We'll get to the King's visit yesterday.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Not a single no Kings sign anywhere. We'll get to
- 0:24Speaker 2: your own Powell. We'll get to a Ran, We'll get
- 0:26Speaker 2: to James Comy, We'll get to a crazy mom, Donnie,
- 0:29Speaker 2: and a whole lot more coming up. So the King
- 0:33Speaker 2: is gone. He left fast. He was here yesterday the
- 0:37Speaker 2: World Trade Center ceremony where mayor Mom Donnie, I guess
- 0:43Speaker 2: greeted him. You know, if you met the king, what
- 0:49Speaker 2: the hell do you talk to him about? I mean,
- 0:50Speaker 2: I've actually talked to him a few times here and there.
- 0:53Speaker 2: There's not much to talk to him about. He loves clothes,
- 0:55Speaker 2: if you want to talk about Turnbull and Asser and
- 0:58Speaker 2: where he gets a suit. He loves talking about that.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Outside of that, there's not much. But you're supposed to be,
- 1:03Speaker 2: you know, warm and welcome to our country. We are
- 1:06Speaker 2: so happy to have you here. Whatever, Mom, Donnie would
- 1:11Speaker 2: what would he do if he met the King? What
- 1:13Speaker 2: would he say to him?
- 1:14Speaker 3: If I was to speak to the King. Separately from that,
- 1:17Speaker 3: I would probably encourage him to return the coin or diamond.
- 1:23Speaker 2: The glen or diamond is some something back when Britain
- 1:27Speaker 2: had colonized everything with some diamond in India that Britain
- 1:32Speaker 2: still possesses. And you know, of all the issues you
- 1:37Speaker 2: could talk to Britain about, out of all the major
- 1:40Speaker 2: issues they're supporting us in Iran, there's a million issues
- 1:45Speaker 2: we have with Britain.
- 1:46Speaker 3: If I was to speak to the king separately from that,
- 1:49Speaker 3: I would probably encourage him to return the coin or diamond.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I guarantee you he didn't know where the hell the
- 1:55Speaker 2: claim art diamond is or what it is. And when
- 1:59Speaker 2: first of all, when he met you could see the
- 2:00Speaker 2: look on his face when he met Mom Donnie. He
- 2:05Speaker 2: kind of looked at everybody and who is this? And
- 2:08Speaker 2: they had Mayor Bloomberg there, I think as they needed
- 2:11Speaker 2: an actual adult to talk to the king. So it's
- 2:15Speaker 2: pretty embarrassing that Mom Donnie was somewhere there on the sidelines.
- 2:18Speaker 2: But it was Mayor Bloomberg who laid the reef with
- 2:21Speaker 2: the king. It was Mayor Bloomberg who talked to him,
- 2:25Speaker 2: who was basically the host of this whole thing. Now,
- 2:28Speaker 2: Mayor Bloomberg has quite a relationship with Great Britain. Bloomberg
- 2:33Speaker 2: has major, major offices in London, has for years, Bloomberg
- 2:36Speaker 2: has lived in London's always had a place there, very
- 2:40Speaker 2: very very big on Great Britain. So and if Mom
- 2:44Speaker 2: Donnie had to ad said to him, returned the glater diamond,
- 2:50Speaker 2: I'm sure the King would have looked at him and said, no,
- 2:55Speaker 2: what a silly thing. I mean, this guy's the mayor
- 2:59Speaker 2: of New or how the hell did he get to
- 3:01Speaker 2: be the Mayor of New York. Except after that they
- 3:03Speaker 2: split up. Camilla went to the library for some literary
- 3:08Speaker 2: book event. They called it a literary event, the library literary.
- 3:15Speaker 2: The host showed her around was Sarah Jessica Parker, and
- 3:20Speaker 2: then there was Anna wind Tower. I really don't think
- 3:23Speaker 2: these are two great figures in American literature. But I
- 3:27Speaker 2: like the book section in the City, the original book,
- 3:30Speaker 2: but literature I don't know. So this was the literary luncheon.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Then the King went to Harlem to look at some
- 3:40Speaker 2: organic farming. And normally, when you're the King of the Queen,
- 3:44Speaker 2: they show you these things and you got to pretend
- 3:46Speaker 2: you're interested. But in this case, it is something that
- 3:49Speaker 2: Prince Charles for all those years was very big on organic,
- 3:53Speaker 2: this organic farming. He was very green all that kind
- 3:57Speaker 2: of stuff. And then I don't know where, they disappeared
- 4:00Speaker 2: for a couple hours, and then they came to Christie's
- 4:04Speaker 2: Auction House in Rockefeller Center for a big gala, a
- 4:09Speaker 2: dinner auction. It was to be a massive event and
- 4:14Speaker 2: everybody was there and it was huge. It was at Christie's,
- 4:18Speaker 2: but I noticed the King and Queen stayed about twelve minutes.
- 4:22Speaker 2: They were not there that long. You know. It said,
- 4:24Speaker 2: they'll be a cocktail reception, there'll be an auction, they'll
- 4:29Speaker 2: be a gala dinner. But if you were watching carefully
- 4:32Speaker 2: in that cocktail reception, they kind of disappeared. They got
- 4:35Speaker 2: out of there pretty fast. It didn't last long, the
- 4:37Speaker 2: whole thing, but they continued along with this great gala dinner.
- 4:42Speaker 2: And you know, interestingly, they had the state dinner at
- 4:44Speaker 2: the White House the night before and there's a million
- 4:49Speaker 2: people that were I mean not a million, but the
- 4:51Speaker 2: people were there put a million pictures on Instagram of
- 4:54Speaker 2: everything that happened. Brett Baar was there, Laura Ingram a
- 4:58Speaker 2: lot of media people, Marie Barbaromo, Senator McCormick, a lot
- 5:02Speaker 2: of senators, and they all posted all the pictures they
- 5:05Speaker 2: took that night. I notice one thing. It's two long tables,
- 5:10Speaker 2: like a horseshoe kind of thing. So everybody are these
- 5:14Speaker 2: very very long tables. So most people at the long,
- 5:18Speaker 2: long table, you're miles away from the king. And then
- 5:23Speaker 2: noticing people took pictures with each other, but nobody had
- 5:26Speaker 2: a picture with the king, so apparently he just stayed
- 5:28Speaker 2: up in the front, never went around greeting everybody. But
- 5:33Speaker 2: tomorrow today they're in Virginia. They'll visit a park, a
- 5:38Speaker 2: national park, they'll visit a horse farm. You see, you
- 5:44Speaker 2: might be thinking, you I'd love to be the king.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Could you imagine being the King of England? Oh my god,
- 5:48Speaker 2: the King of England. This is what you do all day.
- 5:51Speaker 2: They take you to national park and show you around,
- 5:55Speaker 2: and you got to pretend you're interested. Then they take
- 5:57Speaker 2: you to a horse farm. I mean, you could be
- 6:01Speaker 2: interested in horses. I think she is, but you know,
- 6:06Speaker 2: after you've toured four hundred horse farms around the world,
- 6:08Speaker 2: it's not that exciting. So you got and you got
- 6:10Speaker 2: to pretend you're interested the whole time, and then I
- 6:14Speaker 2: think that's it. Yeah, then they'll leave, they'll go back
- 6:17Speaker 2: to Great Britain. I'm sure they'll be back soon. He
- 6:19Speaker 2: was actually, he's actually been here a lot. He was
- 6:22Speaker 2: here in twenty fifteen, he was here in twenty eleven,
- 6:25Speaker 2: he was here in two thousand and five. She doesn't
- 6:28Speaker 2: come that often, but it was quite an exciting visit.
- 6:34Speaker 2: It looked good. I mean, the conversation not too cinhilating,
- 6:38Speaker 2: but it looked good. Hey, Jerome Powell, he's out as
- 6:43Speaker 2: FED chairman. Kevin warsh took one step forward yesterday to
- 6:47Speaker 2: getting confirmed. It looks like he will get confirmed. He's
- 6:50Speaker 2: a good choice. He's everybody's choice. President Trump wanted him,
- 6:53Speaker 2: and all the top guys. You know, we'll talk to
- 6:55Speaker 2: Steve Moore later about this, but Kevin Hassett and Scott
- 7:01Speaker 2: Bessant and all the top financial guys wanted Kevin Wareh.
- 7:05Speaker 2: So it'll be him now. When you take over as
- 7:08Speaker 2: the FED chairman, the other chairman leaves. Technically he's still
- 7:11Speaker 2: on the board, but he leaves. It's just tradition. Paul says,
- 7:15Speaker 2: he's not leaving. He's going to stay. On the board.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Now this is like the tenant you can't get out.
- 7:20Speaker 2: You got to go to landlord tenant court. So this
- 7:23Speaker 2: is embarrassing. Paul's going to stay, he said it has
- 7:25Speaker 2: to do with the criminal investigation. But they've dropped the
- 7:29Speaker 2: criminal investigation. That turned it over to an inspector general,
- 7:33Speaker 2: which is the appropriate thing to do. But he still
- 7:34Speaker 2: won't leave.
- 7:35Speaker 4: I've said that I will not leave the board until
- 7:37Speaker 4: this investigation is well and truly over, with transparency and finality,
- 7:42Speaker 4: and I stand by that.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yeah, now they can torture him out. He can stay
- 7:46Speaker 2: on the board, but they can torture him out. They
- 7:49Speaker 2: could just never let him speak in the meetings. They
- 7:51Speaker 2: can move his parking space to two miles away, they
- 7:56Speaker 2: can take his locker away. They can do stuff to
- 7:58Speaker 2: get him out of there. But he's a bad guy.
- 8:01Speaker 2: He's the Komy of the FED. Speaking to Komy yesterday.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Komi was brought in yesterday. He surrendered to the FED
- 8:11Speaker 2: yesterday on charges he threatened to kill the president in
- 8:15Speaker 2: the Instagram post. Komy sixty five surrendered at Federal Courthouse, Alexandria, Virginia. Now,
- 8:22Speaker 2: the last time they charge, you know, they didn't get him.
- 8:24Speaker 2: But this is a little different because this is going
- 8:27Speaker 2: to be in the Eastern District of North Carolina. That's
- 8:30Speaker 2: a conservative Republican sort of US Attorney Republican sort of district.
- 8:35Speaker 2: So he won't get the crazy left wing jury that
- 8:38Speaker 2: will automatically let Comy out. So he's got a problem
- 8:41Speaker 2: with the venue. He's got Patrick Fitzgerald once again in
- 8:45Speaker 2: as his lawyer. Patrick Fitzgerald was a prosecutor a couple
- 8:52Speaker 2: of major, major cases. He was always considered a real
- 8:55Speaker 2: left wing sort of a prosecutor. But he'll be the
- 9:01Speaker 2: attorney now. I don't you know, they're both former US Attorney's,
- 9:05Speaker 2: former Justice Department. They're obviously close friends. I don't he
- 9:09Speaker 2: may not be charging him.
- 9:10Speaker 5: You know.
- 9:11Speaker 2: One of the things when you get charged with this
- 9:13Speaker 2: stuff and you have to fight it, it drains you.
- 9:15Speaker 2: It just cats you millions. But that Gerald may be
- 9:18Speaker 2: doing this for free. Now, Comy's a very very wealthy guy.
- 9:23Speaker 2: In between government jobs, he worked at hedge funds, so
- 9:26Speaker 2: he's a very wealthy guy. Lived in Connecticut for a while,
- 9:28Speaker 2: worked for Ray Dalya. Now he's going to argue that
- 9:34Speaker 2: he just came along saw these Seashells. But if you
- 9:38Speaker 2: check back, there was another incident way before that with
- 9:42Speaker 2: seashells on a beach that Komy Instagram. This is the
- 9:45Speaker 2: second time he's happened to come upon seashells. Something sounds
- 9:49Speaker 2: off fishy there. The real problem is Komy is actually
- 9:53Speaker 2: you know, when you see him as the prosecutor, he
- 9:56Speaker 2: just stands there all you know, somber. But in real life,
- 10:00Speaker 2: if he's an awkward, uncomfortable sort of a guy to
- 10:03Speaker 2: be around, he's a weirdo, which is fine if you're
- 10:07Speaker 2: the prosecutor. You know, you can be awkward and uncomfortable
- 10:09Speaker 2: and have no personality and be the prosecutor. But for
- 10:12Speaker 2: some reason a few years ago, he decided he would
- 10:14Speaker 2: become the next Kim Kardashian. He decided he would become
- 10:18Speaker 2: this fun influencer on Instagram. And when you're a big, weird, awkward,
- 10:23Speaker 2: somber guy, you don't know how to do it. You
- 10:25Speaker 2: can't do it, you have no I And over the
- 10:27Speaker 2: last couple of years, he has put out some of
- 10:29Speaker 2: the most cringe worthy videos where he's trying to be
- 10:32Speaker 2: cute or funny or cool or they're just I mean,
- 10:37Speaker 2: the most cringey videos. You've ever seen the Seashells thing.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Even if it was not a threat, it's just kind
- 10:43Speaker 2: of stupid. Calemy's going to argue that, you know, having
- 10:48Speaker 2: been working worked in restaurants, eighty six just meant get
- 10:51Speaker 2: rid of something unruly customer, throw them out. Okay, it
- 10:57Speaker 2: did mean that in restaurants. But also, as Trump points out, eighty.
- 11:00Speaker 6: Six, you know it's a mob term for kill him.
- 11:04Speaker 6: You know, you ever see the movies eighty six? The
- 11:08Speaker 6: mobster says to one of his wonderful associates, eighty six,
- 11:12Speaker 6: that means kill him.
- 11:13Speaker 2: There you go. I think I've seen every mob movie
- 11:16Speaker 2: a thousand times. I never did you ever once hear
- 11:18Speaker 2: in a mob movie eighty six? I don't think so.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Did you ever hear d Niro say eighty six? I've
- 11:26Speaker 2: never heard that. Did you ever hear Michael Corleone say
- 11:29Speaker 2: eighty six? And no, I've never heard that. But again,
- 11:33Speaker 2: from what I hear, this other stuff coming. They got
- 11:35Speaker 2: more on him. This is just to get the ball rolling.
- 11:38Speaker 2: There'll be other charges added into this later. But call
- 11:41Speaker 2: me a bad guy. He knew exactly what that meant.
- 11:44Speaker 7: A child knows what that meant if you're the FBI
- 11:48Speaker 7: director and you don't know what that meant, that meant assassination,
- 11:53Speaker 7: and it says it loud and clear.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Well, he's got a point there. If you're the FBI director,
- 12:03Speaker 2: you know, well it's vague, it's borderline, but still if
- 12:07Speaker 2: you're a former FBI director, you shouldn't be doing that.
- 12:12Speaker 2: It was again, call me a very very very awkward guy.
- 12:18Speaker 2: So you know that cop that was beat up in
- 12:21Speaker 2: the liquor store, I mean, not in the cop, the
- 12:23Speaker 2: guy the cops beat up in the liquor store. He's
- 12:26Speaker 2: now suing the city. You've seen the video. They think
- 12:30Speaker 2: he's the criminal they're looking for, and it was just
- 12:34Speaker 2: a bunch of very very very bad coincidences. He looked
- 12:39Speaker 2: exactly like the description, and part of the description is
- 12:43Speaker 2: the guy who's wearing like green neon shorts. So the
- 12:47Speaker 2: guy looks exactly like the guy and he's wearing green
- 12:50Speaker 2: neon shorts. I mean, the odds of this, so they
- 12:54Speaker 2: had pretty good reason to think that was the guy.
- 12:56Speaker 2: And I mean you could argue that this guy, I mean,
- 13:01Speaker 2: you can't even argue it is true. This guy is
- 13:03Speaker 2: committing a crime. He's resisting arrest. You can't do that.
- 13:06Speaker 2: You have to submit to the arrest and then get
- 13:08Speaker 2: it straighten out. But they are beating them and punching them,
- 13:13Speaker 2: and you know, when you got that video, it doesn't
- 13:16Speaker 2: look good, and you got Mamdani as mayor and you
- 13:18Speaker 2: got a certain atmosphere on now. So the guy was
- 13:23Speaker 2: not charged with resisting arrest and the cops have had
- 13:26Speaker 2: their guns and shields taken away. His name is Timothy Brown.
- 13:30Speaker 2: He's forty six. If you saw the video yesterday, he's
- 13:35Speaker 2: a sympathetic guy. He's an articulate guy. He'd be great
- 13:38Speaker 2: on the witness stand. That's a problem, you know, you'd
- 13:41Speaker 2: probably have a big problem if he testifies. Now, he
- 13:44Speaker 2: came in with a neck brace and he's on crutches
- 13:47Speaker 2: and he's bandaged up all over. Now people are pointing
- 13:50Speaker 2: out the day after the beating, when he was on TV,
- 13:53Speaker 2: he didn't have all of that stuff. It's like the
- 13:55Speaker 2: old gangsters in Casino. You know, as soon as they're indicted,
- 13:58Speaker 2: they got a neck brace, they got they're in a wheelchair.
- 14:02Speaker 2: So he's doing for one hundred million. The city will
- 14:07Speaker 2: probably settle it. They're not going to want to take
- 14:09Speaker 2: this to court. Again. He's a good sympathetic figure, a
- 14:13Speaker 2: good talker. They're not going to want to take this
- 14:15Speaker 2: to court, so they'll settle probably, I hate to say it,
- 14:17Speaker 2: probably fifty million. Now, normally it's settled this for twenty million.
- 14:22Speaker 2: But it's mom, Donnie. Uh. And you know how he
- 14:26Speaker 2: just throws away taxpayer money left and right. If he'll
- 14:30Speaker 2: spend fifty if he'll spend thirty million for a grocery store,
- 14:33Speaker 2: he'll spend fifty million to settle this. So this guy's
- 14:36Speaker 2: going to do very very very well.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Uh.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Price of oil we'll get to I ran coming up.
- 14:41Speaker 2: We'll talk about Iran. The price of oil, for some
- 14:44Speaker 2: reason just spiked briefly. It went up to one hundred
- 14:48Speaker 2: and twenty six dollars. Again. It was all over the news,
- 14:50Speaker 2: breaking news. Oil has spiked a one twenty six. This
- 14:53Speaker 2: is all you kept hearing, ending where you turned New
- 14:56Speaker 2: York Times. It just dropped twenty one points. No man
- 15:00Speaker 2: to this anywhere. The spy I didn't know what the
- 15:02Speaker 2: cause of spike. He went up one twenty six. It's
- 15:05Speaker 2: now one oh four. The spike is breaking news. That's
- 15:12Speaker 2: all you've heard on MSNBC. It just dropped twenty one
- 15:17Speaker 2: points and no mention of it. No mention of it.
- 15:19Speaker 2: They don't mention it. Anyway. We got a lot to
- 15:21Speaker 2: get to. We'll take some calls. Next eight hundred three
- 15:24Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten is the number? Eight hundred
- 15:28Speaker 2: three two one zero seven ten.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Give wor oh, Bri said on the iHeartRadio app to
- 15:35Speaker 1: hear Mark Simone and all the WR hosts in an instance,
- 15:40Speaker 1: go back to the Mark Simon show on wor.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Christine in Manhattan. Christine,
- 15:51Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 15:52Speaker 5: Hi?
- 15:53Speaker 8: Can you hear me?
- 15:54Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 15:55Speaker 8: Oh great?
- 15:56Speaker 2: Listen right the way I can hear you without a phone,
- 15:58Speaker 2: the way you talk.
- 16:00Speaker 8: Oh. Well, I'm going to get this news across to
- 16:03Speaker 8: you if you don't already know it. When in twenty eighteen,
- 16:08Speaker 8: Queen Elizabeth the second before she died, conferred a royal
- 16:12Speaker 8: title on Bloomberg. This was KB E Knight of the
- 16:17Speaker 8: British Empire.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Yes he has They do realize this is not breaking news.
- 16:25Speaker 8: Well, you didn't mention it when you were talking about Bloomberg.
- 16:27Speaker 2: You don't really need to mention that he.
- 16:29Speaker 8: Entertained his master, the king.
- 16:31Speaker 2: It was about two thousand people. You start as a
- 16:34Speaker 2: member of the British Empire and MBE. Then you become
- 16:36Speaker 2: a CBE, a commander, and then you become this guy.
- 16:40Speaker 8: This guy is a kb E and it is high.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Three levels.
- 16:46Speaker 8: The Queen conforted on him. The First Amendment of the
- 16:50Speaker 8: US Constitution states no royal titles.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Yeah, we know all this.
- 16:57Speaker 8: He brought it up. A lot of people don't know it.
- 17:03Speaker 2: I think it's not that urgent. Whenever you start with
- 17:07Speaker 2: you know, in twenty eighteen, it's not breaking news. Now
- 17:10Speaker 2: you actually you know, you get there's actually four levels.
- 17:13Speaker 2: But like, for instance, if you were the Beatles at
- 17:18Speaker 2: the height of their fame, they were knighted, Like you
- 17:20Speaker 2: go right to level one Beatles, you're really big, you're knighted.
- 17:25Speaker 2: They become knights. Patula Clark got an MBE. That's like
- 17:29Speaker 2: a notch down. That's member of the British Empire. She
- 17:32Speaker 2: may have been elevated since then, but it depends. Hey,
- 17:35Speaker 2: speaking of the Beatles, they were big in Europe, but
- 17:38Speaker 2: then they came and did the Sullivan Show, that famous
- 17:40Speaker 2: Sunday night and like, I think it's eighty million people
- 17:43Speaker 2: watched and the next day they you know, that was it.
- 17:47Speaker 2: They took America by some They were on the Ed
- 17:49Speaker 2: Sullivan Show. Everybody in America saw them. Now, think about this,
- 17:53Speaker 2: if they came over here today, what would they do?
- 17:57Speaker 2: Where would they go? There's no variety shows in primetime.
- 18:01Speaker 2: They could go on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
- 18:04Speaker 2: That's about nine hundred thousand people, it's not eighty million.
- 18:08Speaker 2: They could go on Kimmel Fallon Colbert. They could go
- 18:11Speaker 2: on every night for a week and they'd reach about
- 18:15Speaker 2: maybe three million people. That's about it. There's no where
- 18:17Speaker 2: if they came to America, there's no where you could
- 18:19Speaker 2: go to do that.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Now.
- 18:21Speaker 2: The closest you could get to that today, believe it
- 18:24Speaker 2: or not, it's iHeart. When was the last time we
- 18:26Speaker 2: did this. We've done it once in a while. Once
- 18:29Speaker 2: in iHeart will do a special thing where all like
- 18:32Speaker 2: one thousand radio stations will play the same thing at
- 18:35Speaker 2: the same moment at one thirty eight thirty in the morning.
- 18:38Speaker 2: We did it a few years ago. Was it for
- 18:40Speaker 2: the new Billy Joel record? No, it's for something some
- 18:44Speaker 2: new recording had come out something, So on every iHeart
- 18:48Speaker 2: station in America, all at once. It got played at
- 18:51Speaker 2: eight thirty in the morning, and I think with that,
- 18:53Speaker 2: like sixty seventy million people heard it. But outside of that,
- 18:57Speaker 2: you can't reach that kind of an audience anymore. Let's
- 19:00Speaker 2: go to Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing, Good morning, Mark.
- 19:04Speaker 9: Yes, Mike, it's funny you should play the Beatles, because
- 19:07Speaker 9: I was going to reference them in my comments about
- 19:09Speaker 9: Mamdani and that being that he's one of those dorks
- 19:12Speaker 9: who comes up with the most obscure trivial nobody cares
- 19:16Speaker 9: about fact and states it and people he thinks people
- 19:21Speaker 9: are gonna walk away and go that guy's a genius.
- 19:23Speaker 9: And I was going to the reference the Beatles. Reference
- 19:25Speaker 9: was going to be, it's like those people you can
- 19:26Speaker 9: meet at a Beatles convention and they have to be
- 19:29Speaker 9: the star of the convention. Did you know Wingo had
- 19:32Speaker 9: eight toes on one foot, you know, and one of
- 19:34Speaker 9: those things like okay, I guess you're the king And then.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they do that with every artist. It's fanatics for
- 19:40Speaker 2: every artist. But that's a good point, yep, you're still there.
- 19:45Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, yes, And so it shows you what a
- 19:47Speaker 9: lightweight Mandani really is because you know, it's like that
- 19:51Speaker 9: that we you know about giving back the diamond that
- 19:53Speaker 9: the British soul from India. Please nobody cares, well, Indians
- 19:58Speaker 9: don't care.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what happens is down he's a very
- 20:00Speaker 2: highly educated Ivy League, went to the finest schools, the
- 20:03Speaker 2: finest Ivy League. And that's what happens when you go
- 20:06Speaker 2: to those things where you're one of those professors. You
- 20:08Speaker 2: know all kinds of useless knowledge about nothing that you
- 20:12Speaker 2: can't make a diamond in the real world. But they
- 20:15Speaker 2: spew it all the time, like they know about this
- 20:17Speaker 2: diamond from seventeen eighty two that nobody, I mean, they
- 20:21Speaker 2: just know all this stuff. Meantime, he becomes mayor of
- 20:24Speaker 2: New York. Has no clue how to run a city,
- 20:26Speaker 2: no clue how to build a grocery store. A grocery
- 20:28Speaker 2: store costs about as low as one million. Ald spends
- 20:34Speaker 2: a lot of money when they come to New York.
- 20:35Speaker 2: They spend three million for each grocery store. He's spending
- 20:38Speaker 2: thirty million. It's now weeks later and he still hasn't
- 20:41Speaker 2: figured out it's like ten times more than supposed to cost.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Hasn't figured it out, doesn't know what to do about it.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Let's go to Canon brooklyn Ken.
- 20:49Speaker 5: How you doing okay, Mark, to hear from you. Good
- 20:53Speaker 5: to talk to you again. Mark. I'm confused about this
- 20:55Speaker 5: correspondence dinner attempt on the President. Two things. First, I'm
- 21:00Speaker 5: watching this footage right now of this this this guy
- 21:03Speaker 5: run past like eight Secret Service agents. Not only did
- 21:07Speaker 5: they all freeze, but the one he was closest to
- 21:11Speaker 5: backed up and didn't proceed forward. It's the weirdest thing.
- 21:15Speaker 5: And then why I don't understand that when they get
- 21:18Speaker 5: all these the FBI director and the new Attorney General,
- 21:21Speaker 5: they're all like they're at the oscars congratulating everybody, what
- 21:24Speaker 5: a good job. I don't even get that.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Well, the problem is the setup outside. There's different divisions
- 21:31Speaker 2: of the Secret Service. That's the uniform division that runs
- 21:33Speaker 2: that outside. You're supposed to set up a zigzag. The
- 21:36Speaker 2: problem is they didn't do that, so it was a
- 21:39Speaker 2: straight line all the way down that corridor. But you're
- 21:42Speaker 2: supposed to. You know, when you go somewhere and you
- 21:44Speaker 2: have to turn this way, there's fences, and then when
- 21:46Speaker 2: you get there down you have to turn around and
- 21:47Speaker 2: go this way. Then you got to turn around and
- 21:50Speaker 2: go back this way, and you keep turning around. It's
- 21:52Speaker 2: a zigzag. The reason they do that is so you
- 21:54Speaker 2: can't get up any speed, Like the road that leads
- 21:58Speaker 2: to the military base entrance is always a zigzag. If
- 22:02Speaker 2: it were a straight line, you could get up so
- 22:04Speaker 2: much speed. So that's the problem. They forgot to set
- 22:07Speaker 2: up the zigzag properly with the fencing, and it was
- 22:10Speaker 2: just a straight hallway. So the guy was able to
- 22:13Speaker 2: get up a lot of speed running. A lot of
- 22:15Speaker 2: mistakes were made there and that a big one. And
- 22:18Speaker 2: had they've had that zigzag, he wouldn't have been running.
- 22:20Speaker 2: They would have stopped him about fifty feet earlier. Well,
- 22:24Speaker 2: when we come back, the great economist Steve Moore will
- 22:27Speaker 2: be with us next lots to talk to him about
- 22:30Speaker 2: coming up on seven to ten wor.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Mark Simo.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Well, Steve Moore, the great economists, the brilliant economists that
- 22:43Speaker 2: you should get his book, The Trump Economic Miracle. It
- 22:46Speaker 2: will really explain everything to the Trump Economic Miracles. A
- 22:49Speaker 2: wonderful book. And he runs the Committee to Unleash Prosperity
- 22:54Speaker 2: and they put out the best daily news and analysis,
- 22:57Speaker 2: best briefing. It's free. It'll come write to your email.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Just go sign up for it. Go to Unleashed Prosperity
- 23:03Speaker 2: dot com. Unleash Prosperity dot com. Steve Moore, how you doing.
- 23:09Speaker 4: Hey, Mark, I'm doing well.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Thank you. It's uh.
- 23:12Speaker 4: You know, by the way, I was there on Saturday
- 23:14Speaker 4: night at the White House. Correspondences are I'm still sort
- 23:16Speaker 4: of shaking from that security event.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Wow.
- 23:19Speaker 4: It was amazing and the President was really I mean
- 23:22Speaker 4: when I watched his press conference afterward, I couldn't believe,
- 23:24Speaker 4: but you know I was. I was so shaken by it.
- 23:27Speaker 4: And he was the one they were trying to shoot at,
- 23:28Speaker 4: and he got up there and at amazing. You know,
- 23:33Speaker 4: his composure and his courage underfire is really something to
- 23:36Speaker 4: be admired, whether whether you're a liberal conservative, and no
- 23:39Speaker 4: matter what your political philosophy, he's an amazing guy.
- 23:43Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:43Speaker 2: One good thing about being an economist. You don't get
- 23:45Speaker 2: shot at a lot. It's not part of the.
- 23:50Speaker 7: Now.
- 23:50Speaker 4: They're usually just verbal shout out.
- 23:53Speaker 2: When that chaos broke out, when did you realize that
- 23:57Speaker 2: there's not going to be any dinner, this is not
- 23:59Speaker 2: going to resume.
- 24:01Speaker 4: Well, first of all, the Mark there was it was
- 24:03Speaker 4: clearly a security breach. You know, when I went, I've
- 24:05Speaker 4: been to about six or seven of those Whitehouse correspondence
- 24:08Speaker 4: diners over the year years. And you know there's two
- 24:11Speaker 4: thy five hundred people or so in that ballroom. And
- 24:15Speaker 4: when I went, I brought my I was a ticket
- 24:17Speaker 4: at a ticket. I was sitting with the Wall Street
- 24:19Speaker 4: journal people, and I went in and I got there
- 24:21Speaker 4: an hour in advance, because I thought there would be
- 24:23Speaker 4: a long line, like you know, the the you know,
- 24:26Speaker 4: Laguardi security line at the airport or something. And I
- 24:30Speaker 4: walked in in five minutes and I just flashed my
- 24:32Speaker 4: They said, where's your ticket. I showed them the ticket.
- 24:34Speaker 4: They didn't even ask me for an ID. I could
- 24:36Speaker 4: have given that ticket to a hobo on the street
- 24:38Speaker 4: and they could have gotten in, which I thought was
- 24:40Speaker 4: really weird. And then you know that when I got
- 24:46Speaker 4: into the ballroom, you know, with these twenty five hundred
- 24:49Speaker 4: other people, were probably about a hundred feet from where
- 24:50Speaker 4: the President was, you know he was. I was sort
- 24:54Speaker 4: of surprised he team. I thought he would maybe at
- 24:56Speaker 4: the end of the dinner come in and give his remarks,
- 24:58Speaker 4: you know, is because the humorous speech and then lead, well,
- 25:02Speaker 4: he was sitting up there on the stage right in
- 25:04Speaker 4: the middle. I thought, oh my god, he's just sitting
- 25:06Speaker 4: duck in case anyone was able to get a you know,
- 25:09Speaker 4: if a sniper somehow.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Got in there.
- 25:11Speaker 4: And so I had this weird premonition that this didn't
- 25:13Speaker 4: seem that safe to me. And then we had this
- 25:15Speaker 4: boom boom, and everybody freaked out, and you know, some
- 25:20Speaker 4: people called beneath the tables, and I crouched down. I
- 25:22Speaker 4: was looking over the president to make sure he was safe.
- 25:25Speaker 4: And right then, I mean, the service here servers were amazing.
- 25:28Speaker 4: They got him out of there in about twenty seconds.
- 25:30Speaker 4: But did you see the tape of him when they
- 25:32Speaker 4: were pushing him out. They have seen this that he stumbles,
- 25:36Speaker 4: you know. I think he tripped because they were trying
- 25:38Speaker 4: to push him out so fast, and I thought, oh
- 25:40Speaker 4: my god, all I saw was him stumble. I thought,
- 25:42Speaker 4: oh my god, he's been hit, you know. And so
- 25:44Speaker 4: for about the long was ten or fifteen minutes of
- 25:46Speaker 4: my life, we didn't know what was going on. We
- 25:49Speaker 4: didn't know that the president was safe. And then they
- 25:50Speaker 4: finally told us, you know, the president was safely escorted
- 25:53Speaker 4: out of the building. But you know it was people
- 25:56Speaker 4: were pretty calm for the most part. For the first
- 25:58Speaker 4: five minutes. It was pretty scary because he didn't know
- 26:00Speaker 4: whether there was a sniper with a rifle in there.
- 26:03Speaker 2: So nobody asked you for any ID. Did you get searched?
- 26:07Speaker 2: Did they search everybody.
- 26:09Speaker 4: From well no, we did go through a metal detector
- 26:11Speaker 4: like at an airport.
- 26:12Speaker 2: But yeah, but you got to search people, well, you
- 26:14Speaker 2: could have had something on you.
- 26:17Speaker 4: They didn't do that. It was the other thing that
- 26:20Speaker 4: was really odd about it, Mark, was that you've probably
- 26:22Speaker 4: read about this because I was commenting about it. The
- 26:25Speaker 4: president was on the stage, the vice president was on
- 26:27Speaker 4: the stage. At the table next to me was the
- 26:28Speaker 4: Speaker of the House. There were four cabinet officers, five
- 26:31Speaker 4: of the six people in line of succession for the
- 26:33Speaker 4: presidency were in that room. It made no sense to me.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's like they need State of the Union
- 26:38Speaker 2: level security, that kind of security. But wow, well glad,
- 26:43Speaker 2: everybody's okay.
- 26:43Speaker 4: So this is, by the way, why Trump is right.
- 26:45Speaker 4: We've got to build the ballroom which will be very
- 26:47Speaker 4: safe and secure, and Trump can view those kinds of events,
- 26:50Speaker 4: or the future presidents will be able to do those
- 26:52Speaker 4: kind of speeches in a safe environment. And incidentally, you know,
- 26:56Speaker 4: I know you probably want to talk about the economy,
- 26:58Speaker 4: but you know the significance of that Washington Hilton mark,
- 27:03Speaker 4: which was that's where in March of nineteen eighty one,
- 27:05Speaker 4: Ronald Reagan was shot. And I'll never forget that day either.
- 27:09Speaker 4: And I was a kid at a teenager at that time,
- 27:11Speaker 4: but you know the I walked right in the entrance
- 27:15Speaker 4: of that hotel where Reagan was walking out where he
- 27:18Speaker 4: got shot by Hinckley. So that's the second time now
- 27:22Speaker 4: we've had, you know, attempted assassination attempt.
- 27:25Speaker 2: In that hotel. Yeah, there's two assassination temps. They got
- 27:27Speaker 2: to make sure that they never use that hotel again.
- 27:30Speaker 2: I mean, it's just ridiculous. Or just changed the name
- 27:33Speaker 2: the assassination Hilton. I mean, how many buildings have had
- 27:36Speaker 2: two assassinations take attempts to take place? Just awful. So
- 27:42Speaker 2: now the king is still in Virginia. Did we learn
- 27:45Speaker 2: anything from this king's visit? Did do anybody any good?
- 27:50Speaker 4: Well, you know, first of all, I mean, this is
- 27:52Speaker 4: a king who is it is really heartbreaking to see
- 27:56Speaker 4: what has happened to the British umpire. I mean, what
- 27:59Speaker 4: was once the strongest nation in the world. They're basically
- 28:03Speaker 4: their economy is basically staggering right now, it's comatose. They've
- 28:09Speaker 4: had very little economic growth while our economy is exploded.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Over the last thirty years, we've beaten them in every
- 28:16Speaker 4: sphere of the economy, including the technology industry. And now
- 28:20Speaker 4: they've got to basically a socialist as their prime minister
- 28:23Speaker 4: in King Charles All He seems to care about climate change.
- 28:28Speaker 2: He's the king. Yeah, so hey, oil prices spiked briefly
- 28:35Speaker 2: went up to one twenty six, it's down to one hundred.
- 28:40Speaker 2: This closing the strait of Hormuse, it really doesn't hurt us.
- 28:43Speaker 2: We don't get any oil from there. It completely destroys
- 28:46Speaker 2: the RAN's economy. Why not just leave it closed for
- 28:48Speaker 2: a couple of months.
- 28:50Speaker 4: Well, you know, you're right that the two countries that
- 28:53Speaker 4: are most dependent on oil from the Middle East are China.
- 28:57Speaker 2: And India, and we don't. We get very little.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Although you know that when that strait is closed is
- 29:02Speaker 4: we've learned it affects the entire global price of oil
- 29:05Speaker 4: because it's a global commodity like gold is. But we
- 29:09Speaker 4: got to get it open. We got to get it
- 29:10Speaker 4: open quickly. And when we do, I don't know if
- 29:13Speaker 4: it's good. You know, I've been saying in a few weeks,
- 29:15Speaker 4: but who knows. At this point it's proven to be
- 29:17Speaker 4: a lot harder than we had thought. Then I think
- 29:20Speaker 4: we'll see, you know, gas prices migrate back down to
- 29:23Speaker 4: the you know, three to three twenty five a gallon,
- 29:27Speaker 4: and it has to happen because it's really hurting the economy.
- 29:29Speaker 4: We're seeing it migrate into other higher prices. So we
- 29:34Speaker 4: want to keep inflation down. We want affordability high, and
- 29:37Speaker 4: that's why we've got and infinitely mark on that. Thank god,
- 29:41Speaker 4: we have a president who's drill, baby, drill. I mean,
- 29:43Speaker 4: can you imagine if we had died in an office
- 29:46Speaker 4: and we weren't producing our own gas. I mean, we
- 29:48Speaker 4: would be paying nine dollars a gallon of gas. It's
- 29:52Speaker 4: and also, by the way it is, it is a
- 29:54Speaker 4: pretty amazing thing that the UAE has now dropped out
- 29:58Speaker 4: of OPEC. I think it's Trump and the and the
- 30:03Speaker 4: shale oil and gas people who really who finally have
- 30:08Speaker 4: blown up Opack.
- 30:10Speaker 2: So if we get rid of this happy day, yeah,
- 30:12Speaker 2: we get rid of this terrorist regime in Iran, which
- 30:14Speaker 2: would be a dream come true, and we get rid
- 30:16Speaker 2: of Opak, what will the future look like price wise,
- 30:20Speaker 2: oil wise, that could be amazing.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Could you know, Look, there's so much oil and gas,
- 30:24Speaker 4: and I remember people used worry about we're running out
- 30:26Speaker 4: of oil and gas. We're not running out of it,
- 30:27Speaker 4: we're running into it. So you could see gas prices
- 30:30Speaker 4: go back well below three dollars a gallon. Uh, and
- 30:33Speaker 4: that would be a wonderful thing. And we're the world's
- 30:35Speaker 4: you know, leading producer today. So uh, this is this
- 30:39Speaker 4: is we got to use all the energy we have, oil, gas,
- 30:43Speaker 4: nuclear power, coal, maybe when when appropriate, soil and when
- 30:47Speaker 4: use it all so we're not no longer you know,
- 30:50Speaker 4: depending on them at least oil.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, Steve Moore, this fraud that we saw in Minnesota,
- 30:56Speaker 2: we've uncovered this fraud a couple of billions. Well it
- 30:59Speaker 2: looks now we're going to find hundreds of billions of
- 31:01Speaker 2: this kind of fraud all over America, all over government.
- 31:05Speaker 2: How did that? Well that covered up?
- 31:07Speaker 4: So yeah, that's a great Yeah, that's a great point.
- 31:10Speaker 4: And the US General Accounting Office, which is the basically
- 31:14Speaker 4: the official auditor of all these trillions of dollars that
- 31:16Speaker 4: we spend in Washington. They just did a report yesterday
- 31:20Speaker 4: reporting and I think it was one hundred and eighty
- 31:22Speaker 4: five billion dollars in fraudulent payments. Now mark those are
- 31:26Speaker 4: only the fraudulent payments that they know about. It's probably
- 31:29Speaker 4: two or three times higher if people got away with
- 31:32Speaker 4: the fraudulent payments. So we have so much waste. I
- 31:35Speaker 4: believe that we could cut one trillion dollars out of
- 31:38Speaker 4: our budget if we got rid of fraud, duplication, if
- 31:41Speaker 4: we got rid of quote what they call quote improper payments.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Don't you love that improper payment? If you got rid
- 31:47Speaker 4: of all of that, we could balance this damn budget.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, mom, Donnie's building his own grocery store.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Every major grocery company tells you it's about two million
- 31:58Speaker 2: to open a store. He's spending. This is just more fraud.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Why we had to form a government agency that can
- 32:05Speaker 2: just swoop in and stop that for when it happens.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Well, shame on you, mouk. Don't you understand the war
- 32:11Speaker 4: of socialism, I mean the idea. By the way, they've
- 32:16Speaker 4: tried this before, folks. It was in Russia during the
- 32:20Speaker 4: Soviet Union, where you know, you could get anything you
- 32:22Speaker 4: wanted for a low price at at the grocery store.
- 32:24Speaker 4: But of course you had to wait for an hour
- 32:26Speaker 4: and a half to get into the store. And then
- 32:27Speaker 4: when you got in the store there was nothing on
- 32:29Speaker 4: the shelves. But it was all really cheap.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and I don't know you saw the pictures. This
- 32:33Speaker 2: is one dumpy location in the middle of nowhere. Thirty
- 32:37Speaker 2: million to build this whole food spends two million when
- 32:39Speaker 2: they build a new store.
- 32:41Speaker 4: Unbelievable.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Well well as Steve Moore, great stuff. Everybody gets Steve
- 32:44Speaker 2: Moore's book, The Trump Economic Miracle and go do Unleash

- 33:30Speaker 2: was also He wasn't just in the ballroom. He was
- 33:33Speaker 2: the live host of the coverage on Fox of the
- 33:38Speaker 2: White House Correspondent. And the plan was he would host
- 33:40Speaker 2: for three hours the coverage and then all hell broke lose. Well,
- 33:44Speaker 2: he'll be with us in the next hour. We'll talk
- 33:47Speaker 2: about it. But he's also here every night with a
- 33:49Speaker 2: great show at nine o'clock every night on seven to
- 33:51Speaker 2: ten wor.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Mark Simone Show seven ten wry.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Remember l IV Golf, the Saudi Arabia Golf Well, you
- 34:04Speaker 2: know they tried to steal all of our top golfers.
- 34:07Speaker 2: They offered them a fortune. I mean, you could make
- 34:11Speaker 2: ten million as a top golfer in America, but they
- 34:13Speaker 2: offered me as one hundred million come play in the
- 34:16Speaker 2: l IV Saudi Arabia Golf League. Well, they got a
- 34:20Speaker 2: lot of big players. We've got a lot of big names.
- 34:23Speaker 2: And I wouldn't say it was flourishing, but it was.
- 34:26Speaker 2: It was there and it was doing well, and they
- 34:29Speaker 2: made deals. You know, they got the Trump Dral to
