- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Ready for another small lesson? Lucas: Absolutely. Today we're going to learn some simple phrases for bedtime. You know, that time when you're getting ready to sleep. Luna: Ooh, I love bedtime. Let's start with the most obvious one: good night. Lucas: Right. In Spanish, 'good night' is 'buenas noches'. Say it with me: buenas noches. Luna: Buenas noches. Lucas: Perfect. Now, if you want to say 'I'm going to sleep', you say 'Voy a dormir'. Listen: voy a dormir. Luna: Voy a dormir. That's easy. Lucas: It is. Now let's try a few more. 'Brush your teeth' — 'cepíllate los dientes'. Luna: Cepíllate los dientes. That's a mouthful. Lucas: You'll get it. Let's break it down: cepíllate los dientes. Together: cepíllate los dientes. Luna: Cepíllate los dientes. Got it. Lucas: Great. Next: 'put on your pajamas' is 'ponte el pijama'. Ponte el pijama. Luna: Ponte el pijama. I love that it's just one word for pajamas — pijama. Lucas: Exactly. And if you want to read a story before bed, you say 'leer un cuento'. Leer un cuento. Luna: Leer un cuento. That sounds cozy. Lucas: Finally, when it's time to sleep, you might say 'apaga la luz' — turn off the light. Apaga la luz. Luna: Apaga la luz. That's useful. Lucas: Let's put them together in a little routine. Imagine you're getting ready for bed. Luna: Okay, I'll try. Buenas noches. Voy a dormir. Cepíllate los dientes. Ponte el pijama. Leer un cuento. Apaga la luz. Lucas: Perfect! You did it. Now let's practice one more time with the correct order. Luna: Alright. Buenas noches. Voy a cepillarme los dientes? Actually, 'cepíllate los dientes' was the command. Lucas: Right. In a routine, you might say 'me cepillo los dientes' but today we're using the command form. So in a sequence: 'Cepíllate los dientes, ponte el pijama, lee un cuento, apaga la luz, y buenas noches.' Luna: Ah, that makes sense. Cepíllate los dientes, ponte el pijama, lee un cuento, apaga la luz, y buenas noches. Lucas: Wonderful. See how natural that feels? Luna: Yeah, I can already imagine saying this to my kids. Or to myself. Lucas: If Fexingo has been helping you make real progress with your Spanish, consider supporting the show.
