- 0:21Welcome to the PTT Music Podcast, where music is so much more than entertainment.
- 0:27It's a powerful force for inspiration, creativity, and positive influence.
- 0:32I'm Jordan Sterling.
- 0:34And I'm Ava Brooks.
- 0:35We're thrilled you're here with us today.
- 0:37At PTT Music, our whole mission centers on Music With Purpose,
- 0:42Sound With Impact.
- 0:44We believe that purposeful sound has the unique power to awaken deep emotion,
- 0:50strengthen the mind, spark inner confidence, and unite people through shared,
- 0:55uplifting experiences.
- 0:57That's why every conversation on this podcast goes far beyond the surface notes.
- 1:01We dive straight into the heart of positive behavior, emotional intelligence,
- 1:06and the science of how music influences our thoughts, our daily choices,
- 1:10and our capacity to thrive.
- 1:12In our work with positive behavioral techniques, one universal principle
- 1:16consistently stands out.
- 1:18When individuals and teams experience authentic warmth combined with clear
- 1:23competence, engagement skyrockets.
- 1:26People don't just perform better; they feel genuinely inspired to contribute their
- 1:31best ideas and bring out the best in everyone around them.
- 1:35There's a brilliant, landmark social psychology study conducted in nineteen sixty
- 1:40six by Dr Elliot Aronson at the University of Minnesota that explores this precise
- 1:45dynamic.
- 1:46In the behavioral world, we know it as the Pratfall Effect,
- 1:50and it holds profound lessons for how approachable confidence builds trust and
- 1:55magnetic leadership.
- 1:56To really appreciate what Aronson uncovered, imagine the setup of the experiment.
- 2:01Participants listened to audio recordings of candidates auditioning for a
- 2:06prestigious College Bowl team.
- 2:08The questions were deliberately complex, covering advanced history,
- 2:13literature, philosophy, and science.
- 2:16One candidate demonstrated stellar competence.
- 2:19He correctly answered ninety two percent of the extremely difficult questions,
- 2:24casually mentioned participating in high achieving track and academic honors,
- 2:28and spoke with calm, articulate certainty.
- 2:32Naturally, listeners rated him as exceptionally competent and impressive.
- 2:36By comparison, another candidate answered only thirty percent of the questions
- 2:40correctly, admitted to average grades and modest accomplishments,
- 2:46and projected a far less assured presence.
- 2:49When participants evaluated both, the high performer was clearly admired far more
- 2:56for his capability.
- 2:57But then Aronson introduced the critical behavioral variable that completely
- 3:03transformed modern understandings of interpersonal connection.
- 3:07At the very end of the recording for both candidates, listeners heard the sound of
- 3:12clattering dishes, scuffling chairs, and the candidate exclaiming that they'd
- 3:16accidentally spilled a hot cup of fresh coffee all over their new suit.
- 3:21But notice the reaction.
- 3:23The highly competent candidate handled the minor spill with good humored ease,
- 3:27gentle laughter, and effortless poise.
- 3:29When Aronson gathered the final evaluations, the results were extraordinary.
- 3:35The high competence candidate who experienced the coffee spill was rated
- 3:39significantly higher in likeability, trust, and interpersonal warmth than the
- 3:45version of the exact same high performer who performed without any spill at all.
- 3:51That small, human moment bridged the psychological gap between distant perfection
- 3:58and genuine connection.
- 4:00From a positive behavioral perspective, this insight is immense.
- 4:05Cold perfection can inadvertently create intimidation or social distance.
- 4:10But when high capability is married to authentic warmth, humility,
- 4:14and positive emotion, it creates an environment where people feel safe,
- 4:19energized, and deeply motivated to collaborate.
- 4:22It turns individual talent into collective momentum.
- 4:25And that brings us right to the artistic core of why we create music at PTT Music.
- 4:31Music operates on that exact same frequency.
- 4:35When an artist crafts an arrangement with pristine technical skill,
- 4:40that's wonderful.
- 4:41But what makes a song truly unforgettable is the warmth, the heart,
- 4:47and the relatable spirit woven into every melody.
- 4:50That's what moves a listener from passive hearing to active,
- 4:54positive transformation.
- 4:56You can hear that exact principle embodied in our track "Synergy".
- 5:00In positive behavioral science, synergy represents the exponential power that
- 5:05happens when diverse individuals bring their highest strengths to the table with
- 5:09total mutual trust.
- 5:11The production of "Synergy" mirrors that exact harmony.
- 5:14Layer upon layer of rhythmic grooves and uplifting harmonies come together,
- 5:18where no single instrument overpowers the other.
- 5:21Instead, each part elevates the whole.
- 5:24When you listen to "Synergy", it activates that mental state of flow and
- 5:28collaboration.
- 5:29It reminds leaders, creators, and everyday achievers that true strength lies in
- 5:34welcoming others in.
- 5:36You don't have to put on a rigid shield of invulnerability to lead.
- 5:40When you share positive reinforcement and celebrate shared victories,
- 5:45the collective output becomes unstoppable.
- 5:48"Synergy" provides the musical pulse for that unified mindset.
- 5:52And once that collective trust and positive alignment take hold,
- 5:56it naturally propels you into the mindset of our next song,
- 5:59"On Another Level".
- 6:01That track was created to be an anthem for peak performance and relentless,
- 6:06joyful elevation.
- 6:08When your foundation is solid, and when you're grounded in warmth and purpose,
- 6:12you unlock an inner drive that pushes beyond ordinary boundaries.
- 6:16"On Another Level" takes that energy and channels it into pure focus.
- 6:21In behavioral psychology, we often talk about self efficacy,
- 6:26which is the belief in your own ability to succeed and overcome new challenges.
- 6:31This song reinforces that internal belief with driving beats,
- 6:35soaring dynamics, and an invigorating sonic architecture.
- 6:39It's designed to lift your mental horizon, encouraging you to step boldly into
- 6:44higher standards of excellence without hesitation.
- 6:47Think about how beautifully those two tracks complement each other and reinforce the
- 6:51mission of PTT Music.
- 6:52"Synergy" builds the bridge of authentic connection, trust,
- 6:56and shared purpose.
- 6:58Then "On Another Level" gives you the fuel to run full stride across that bridge
- 7:02toward your greatest ambitions.
- 7:04That's the essence of Music With Purpose and Sound With Impact.
- 7:08It truly is.
- 7:10When we intentionally surround our minds with positive behavioral habits and
- 7:14uplifting music, we reshape our cognitive environment.
- 7:19You begin to see opportunities where others see barriers.
- 7:23You approach colleagues, friends, and family with warm encouragement and confident
- 7:28optimism, creating a ripple effect of positive growth that extends far into your
