- 1:11Speaker 1: a six or one eight eighty five, three, seven, seven six.
- 1:15Speaker 1: The biggest story right now is this this tro this
- 1:21Speaker 1: return to college football that's out here. Several reports this
- 1:26Speaker 1: afternoon Bud Elliott right now are forty five minutes ago,
- 1:30Speaker 1: he says, all right, here the top ten names that
- 1:32Speaker 1: he spotted from the tro that was just granted in Louisiana.
- 1:36Speaker 1: A Louisiana judge, if he's just joining us and you
- 1:39Speaker 1: missed it, today a Louisiana judge has granted a fifth
- 1:43Speaker 1: year to play for several guys out here, and boy
- 1:50Speaker 1: it is calls on a stir. I mean, you think
- 1:52Speaker 1: about it. We got week zero coming up here in one, two,
- 1:56Speaker 1: three days and in ten days, well really less than that,
- 1:59Speaker 1: because you got a full slate of college football on Thursday.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Next week, you got games on Friday, you got games
- 2:05Speaker 1: on Saturday. I mean, you got a full slate coming
- 2:08Speaker 1: up here. But here's here's some of the Many of
- 2:12Speaker 1: these players are still in NFL training camp, which is crazy.
- 2:17Speaker 1: All these guys right now. James Madison, they got a player.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Let's see Trent Hendrick. James Madison Sunbelt Defensive Player of
- 2:27Speaker 1: the Year. He had one hundred and six tackles, G
- 2:29Speaker 1: five All American. He's in an NFL training camp. He's
- 2:32Speaker 1: looking to come back to college now today today Ole
- 2:35Speaker 1: Miss Daikwon Wright All sec tighty end and also Whiteett,
- 2:40Speaker 1: williams Ole Miss defensive tackle. They're looking to come back. TJ.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Harden is a guy from Southern Methodist Jack Pyburn and
- 2:48Speaker 1: this is kind of where it all started. He's at
- 2:50Speaker 1: LSU or came from LSU, and now he's looking to
- 2:54Speaker 1: come back to college. Not next year right now. Season
- 2:58Speaker 1: starts next week. Also, Akron has a guy Ethan Johnson
- 3:03Speaker 1: DQ Smith starting safety, four year starter at South Carolina
- 3:06Speaker 1: is looking to come back. Xavian Harris defensive tackle, Old Miss,
- 3:10Speaker 1: Anthony Hankerson starting running back Oregon State, and Wiland Lopahoe
- 3:15Speaker 1: from BYU are starting guard. That's ten right now. And
- 3:19Speaker 1: look this thing is starting to fill up quickly this afternoon.
- 3:22Speaker 1: This is a mess. This is an absolute mess. We've
- 3:26Speaker 1: got to get the judges and the legal system out
- 3:30Speaker 1: of making decisions on who's eligible in college sports, because
- 3:34Speaker 1: this is a mess. I don't know. And here's the thing.
- 3:37Speaker 1: For instance, if you're Old Miss, and I'm using Old Miss,
- 3:39Speaker 1: because they got three guys on this list of ten
- 3:42Speaker 1: from Bud Elliott Daikwan Wright all sec tight end white
- 3:46Speaker 1: at Williams seventy three tackles, three interceptions, thirteen pass breakups,
- 3:52Speaker 1: and Xavian Harris starting defensive tackle. He would take those
- 3:56Speaker 1: guys back, right, I mean seriously, I mean why would
- 3:58Speaker 1: you not if you could get them back because they're
- 4:00Speaker 1: all SEC guys. They all were in NFL training camps.
- 4:04Speaker 1: You know they can play. The question is now, what
- 4:07Speaker 1: do you do and how do you get them back?
- 4:08Speaker 1: Because you said, what do you mean how do you
- 4:10Speaker 1: get them back? Do you have spots for them? What
- 4:12Speaker 1: if you're full? What do you do? Are you cutting players?
- 4:15Speaker 1: Are this is creating an absolute mess here in college
- 4:22Speaker 1: football as we get ready to kick off the twenty
- 4:25Speaker 1: twenty sixth season. Yeah, this is everyone. Adam Schefter, former
- 4:29Speaker 1: role Miss starters, Dea Kwon Wright, Xavian Harris White at
- 4:32Speaker 1: Williams all looking, all of hoops signed NFL teams this summer.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Among groups of athletes who were granted a temporary restrainting
- 4:39Speaker 1: order Wednesday to return to college football. And this is
- 4:43Speaker 1: courtesy of ESPN dot Com, As it says, the Trio
- 4:48Speaker 1: former Rebels standouts joined thirty other athletes from a variety
- 4:53Speaker 1: of sports in a lawsuit filed against the NCAA in
- 4:56Speaker 1: the state of Louisiana today. The list of plaintiffs includes
- 5:00Speaker 1: sixteen football players several who signed with the NFL teams
- 5:03Speaker 1: and participated in training camps earlier this month. Three of
- 5:07Speaker 1: the players, right Williams and former Oregon State running back
- 5:09Speaker 1: Anthony Hankerson, are currently listed on NFL rosters with the Browns, Cardinals,
- 5:14Speaker 1: and Seahawks, respectively. Those players have expressed an interest in
- 5:19Speaker 1: being released from their NFL contracts, according to attorney Ryan Dalton,
- 5:24Speaker 1: and their NFL team released, and if their NFL teams
- 5:28Speaker 1: released them by September first, they will be allowed to
- 5:31Speaker 1: join a college roster under the restraining order. Now it
- 5:35Speaker 1: doesn't say what roster, because this is a different lawsuit
- 5:39Speaker 1: than what we saw come out of the state of Colorado.
- 5:41Speaker 1: If you almost a month ago where you had to
- 5:43Speaker 1: come back to the roster you're at. So I don't
- 5:45Speaker 1: know if they can be picked up in almost like
- 5:47Speaker 1: a free agency pool and go play somewhere, or if
- 5:50Speaker 1: they've got to go back to the University of Ada,
- 5:52Speaker 1: I said those players. Since former South Carolina safety DQ Smith,
- 5:57Speaker 1: LSU linebacker Jack Pyburn, and no defensive lineman Junior and
- 6:01Speaker 1: I'm not even going to try to pronunciate his name,
- 6:04Speaker 1: Junior t to a Lamaca. That's the best I got
- 6:08Speaker 1: among other players who joined the suit. It said their
- 6:11Speaker 1: case is the latest in a wave of more than
- 6:13Speaker 1: a dozen lawsuits filed this summer by athletes who want
- 6:16Speaker 1: to play a fifth year a fifth season of college sports.
- 6:19Speaker 1: In total, more than one hundred athletes are currently suing
- 6:22Speaker 1: the nc DOABLEA in hopes of returning to school for
- 6:24Speaker 1: one more year. The lawsuit claims the NCAA is breaching
- 6:28Speaker 1: its quote covenant of good faith by not giving these
- 6:32Speaker 1: players the same opportunity to play for five years in
- 6:34Speaker 1: college that past players received and future players will get.
- 6:39Speaker 1: The nc DOBA changed this eligibility role in June allowed
- 6:43Speaker 1: to allow players to play for five seasons within a
- 6:46Speaker 1: five year time span, which begins either when they enroll
- 6:50Speaker 1: in college or in the academic year following their nineteenth birthday,
- 6:55Speaker 1: whichever comes first. So remember the new role five to
- 6:58Speaker 1: play five and begins when you either enroll in college
- 7:03Speaker 1: or in the academic year following their nineteenth birthday. The
- 7:07Speaker 1: new rule eliminates most of the waivers players received in
- 7:10Speaker 1: the past to extend their time in college sports due
- 7:12Speaker 1: to injuries and other extenuating circumstances. The previous eligibility rules
- 7:18Speaker 1: allowed players to compete for four years during a five
- 7:21Speaker 1: year window. That's when you had a lot of red shirts.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Guys didn't mind getting red shirted. Maybe you played a year,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you got an injury, took a red shirt. Oh that's
- 7:30Speaker 1: out the window now. When they voted for the change,
- 7:32Speaker 1: the division board Division one board of Directors opted not
- 7:36Speaker 1: to include outgoing seniors who played four seasons and their
- 7:39Speaker 1: first four years in college, even though they would have
- 7:42Speaker 1: been eligible for a fifth year under the new rules.
- 7:45Speaker 1: NCAA officials said they did not want a sudden influx
- 7:49Speaker 1: of returning fifth year players to take roster spots from
- 7:52Speaker 1: incoming freshmen, many of whom had already signed on to
- 7:55Speaker 1: play in their play for their teams by the time
- 7:58Speaker 1: the new rule changed. And that's who it hurts more
- 8:00Speaker 1: than anybody is the guys coming out of high school.
- 8:04Speaker 1: So this is draw drop jaw dropping news coming out
- 8:08Speaker 1: of the state of Louisiana this afternoon. And now more
- 8:10Speaker 1: than one hundred players are trying to get back into college.
- 8:14Speaker 1: And again, you've got Week zero games coming up this weekend,
- 8:17Speaker 1: and you got college football Week one starts a week
- 8:20Speaker 1: from tomorrow on Thursday. The decision prompted the current wave
- 8:24Speaker 1: of lawsuits that has come through state in federal courts.
- 8:27Speaker 1: In several cases, judges have granted temporary restraining orders that
- 8:30Speaker 1: allow athletes to compete in upcoming seasons while their cases pending.
- 8:34Speaker 1: The most significant restraining order issue was on July thirty
- 8:38Speaker 1: first by Colorado based federal judge Charlotte Sweeney. That's the
- 8:43Speaker 1: first suit we talked about a month ago, who ruled
- 8:45Speaker 1: that athletes in favor in the athletes favor in the
- 8:48Speaker 1: class action lawsuit and Wentz versus the NCAA. Her order
- 8:53Speaker 1: allows all athletes who started their career in twenty twenty
- 8:56Speaker 1: two twenty three in the academic year to play a
- 8:59Speaker 1: fifth season. NCAA Chief Legal Officer Scott Beer by excuse me,
- 9:05Speaker 1: calt Sweny's decision egregious and a memo sent to the
- 9:09Speaker 1: school in late July six one eighty five three seven

- 11:17Speaker 1: so we're talking about the breaking news fire emoji that's
- 11:22Speaker 1: out here. The judges just continued to create chaos in
- 11:27Speaker 1: college football, in college sports, as in the state of Louisiana,
- 11:33Speaker 1: a judge offered or excuse me, executed a t ro
- 11:38Speaker 1: O temporary restraining order. I like the whether they put that.
- 11:40Speaker 1: You know, when I think a restraining order, I think
- 11:42Speaker 1: of you know, you know, B wants to wear me
- 11:45Speaker 1: out and I have to put a restraining order to
- 11:47Speaker 1: keep him off my property or vice versa. But that's
- 11:49Speaker 1: not what this is. This is a restraining order of
- 11:51Speaker 1: the other kind. They have created a stay with these
- 11:55Speaker 1: guys that are in NFL training camps. If they want
- 11:57Speaker 1: to come back, they can come back. As kind of
- 12:02Speaker 1: the lead dog in this whole deal is a former LSU.
- 12:07Speaker 1: LSU defensive end Jack Pyburn and almost tight end de
- 12:13Speaker 1: Kwon Wright are among sixteen players granted a temporary restraining
- 12:17Speaker 1: order for a fifth year of college. Let's go over
- 12:19Speaker 1: to beeB He's got some text on the cawbol Maloney's
- 12:21Speaker 1: text sign. Get caught up over there and check in
- 12:23Speaker 1: on beev.
- 12:23Speaker 6: Yes, so very important texts because finally someone has reached
- 12:33Speaker 6: the boiling point that I have the last two days
- 12:37Speaker 6: listening to.
- 12:38Speaker 7: You mix up your weeks.
- 12:40Speaker 6: Oh no, it started yesterday when you told David Murray,
- 12:44Speaker 6: I'll talk to you next week and that'll be game
- 12:46Speaker 6: week for Misissippi State. And I'm thinking, well nine to
- 12:50Speaker 6: two weeks it'll be game week for Missippi State. And
- 12:53Speaker 6: then today you were talking about a week zero game
- 12:55Speaker 6: and you said it's this weekend. So the real un
- 12:58Speaker 6: named text says is a week early? Week zero is
- 13:02Speaker 6: next week?
- 13:04Speaker 1: Am I doing that?
- 13:05Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 13:05Speaker 7: You've been doing it for two days. Man, you are
- 13:08Speaker 7: you have moved ahead in time.
- 13:10Speaker 1: You know what I'm doing. I'm confusing week zero in
- 13:13Speaker 1: high school and there's too many weeks. There's too many
- 13:16Speaker 1: zeros and ones. So thank you for the correction, because
- 13:20Speaker 1: you're right. Week one is not next week. Week one
- 13:23Speaker 1: is the weekend of Labor Day.
- 13:24Speaker 7: You can't move.
- 13:25Speaker 6: You can't keep trying to put us in the future, because, Jake,
- 13:29Speaker 6: we know how this goes. Okay, when football season gets here, Oh,
- 13:35Speaker 6: we've been waiting for it for over two hundred days,
- 13:37Speaker 6: and then when it gets here, it feels like it lasts,
- 13:40Speaker 6: you know, five weeks. Yeah, so we don't need it
- 13:43Speaker 6: to fly by any faster than it already will.
- 13:46Speaker 1: You're right, so we'll slow it down. So hey, at
- 13:48Speaker 1: least I know people are the two people that listen
- 13:50Speaker 1: to this show were paying attention out there.
- 13:51Speaker 6: Yeah, so credit Torella named Texter for finally he's feeling
- 13:57Speaker 6: my anger. K W also noticed he said week zero
- 14:01Speaker 6: is August twenty ninth. Week one starts Thursday, September third.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm I'm intermingling the high school calendar with the Yeah,
- 14:09Speaker 1: thanks for the correction. My brain, I think it's the heat.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I'm out here in all this heat at these high
- 14:14Speaker 1: school fields. It's got to Can I blame it on
- 14:16Speaker 1: the heat? Yeah? No, because you're walking fifty minutes a
- 14:18Speaker 1: day in his heat.
- 14:19Speaker 6: Well no, no, but I'm not doing a show in it.
- 14:22Speaker 6: I cool down and hydrate before I have to come
- 14:25Speaker 6: in here. So yes, you know, I raally let you
- 14:28Speaker 6: slide on things that you try to blame your stuff on,
- 14:31Speaker 6: but the heat, I will absolutely let you. I will
- 14:36Speaker 6: let you do it because I don't know that we've
- 14:37Speaker 6: been blow one hundred degrees since like last Thursday.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Oh it was we were talking about that out here earlier.
- 14:42Speaker 1: And on the fact that I pair it with these
- 14:46Speaker 1: C four popsicle energy drinks that probably didn't help us.
- 14:49Speaker 7: Oh, Jake, I didn't know that. That's awful.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Rod is over here shaking his head like nope. And
- 14:55Speaker 1: Rod's a lead trainer for Missoupi Sports Medicine. He's like, hey, man,
- 14:58Speaker 1: you need to cut this thing out over here.
- 15:00Speaker 7: Yeah, I agree.
- 15:03Speaker 6: Oh, let's see JC another pretty important text here, Jake.
- 15:08Speaker 6: You know what he's looking for. I need an official
- 15:11Speaker 6: quote from you about Brandon cheating and being put on probation.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Jc's gonna keep me in check always, all right, So
- 15:22Speaker 1: this is the one thing I'll say about it. There
- 15:25Speaker 1: was a mix up on you know days as far
- 15:29Speaker 1: as the calendar is concerned. The way the MHI say
- 15:32Speaker 1: set this sets this thing up is you've got you know,
- 15:34Speaker 1: acclimate what they call acclamation days. So all schools you
- 15:38Speaker 1: have like five practices to wear. You know, you only
- 15:42Speaker 1: can wear helmets, shorts in the top, like that'd just
- 15:45Speaker 1: be like a well you used to call the shimble
- 15:46Speaker 1: shirt or just a practice shirt. The next five you
- 15:48Speaker 1: can go helmets, shoulder pads, and then maybe if you
- 15:51Speaker 1: want to wear like a girdle and then you acclimate
- 15:53Speaker 1: into full pads. Brandon had a scrimmage last Thursday night,
- 15:58Speaker 1: and it was really more of kind of an exhibition
- 16:01Speaker 1: show for you know, meet the bulldogs. They had their
- 16:05Speaker 1: days in and it should have started the next day
- 16:08Speaker 1: or you know, it's on Saturday, and they put their
- 16:10Speaker 1: pants on, went out that night, and then that counted
- 16:12Speaker 1: against you know. They they they did it themselves. They
- 16:16Speaker 1: didn't mean to like break a rule. It was just
- 16:19Speaker 1: a it was a communication issue. So they had to
- 16:22Speaker 1: pay a fine. They will not miss the playoffs. This
- 16:25Speaker 1: is not a postseason ban. I've talked with MHSA office.
- 16:29Speaker 1: It is not a postseason ban like some have put
- 16:31Speaker 1: out there. I've seen some attractions on that. So, yeah,
- 16:33Speaker 1: they had to pay a fine. They were a day
- 16:36Speaker 1: early on pads. It happens. It's happened in other places
- 16:39Speaker 1: around the state. Some other schools are getting popped with it. It's unfortunate,
- 16:43Speaker 1: but you just move on from it.
- 16:46Speaker 6: Let's see Toddy, He says, I agree that Jake had
- 16:49Speaker 6: me confused.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Gosh, I'm so sorry. I hate to confuse people. And
- 16:54Speaker 1: I'm sitting here calling next week. I'm calling week zero
- 16:56Speaker 1: this weekend. Maybe I'm just ready for football. Maybe I'm
- 16:58Speaker 1: just you know, pulling for weeks zero. And you know,
- 17:02Speaker 1: I looked at lines earlier today and I didn't see
- 17:04Speaker 1: any week zero lines. I thought, why are the lines
- 17:05Speaker 1: not out? Well, because it's not week zero. It's not
- 17:10Speaker 1: week zero. What else we got?
- 17:13Speaker 7: Let's see.
- 17:15Speaker 6: Jason and flagstaff. Caffeine and heat stroke go together like
- 17:20Speaker 6: lamb and tuna fish.
- 17:23Speaker 1: That's right, man. That sounds awful, doesn't it. Yeah. I
- 17:27Speaker 1: mean I like tuna fish and I like a taste
- 17:29Speaker 1: of lamb every now and then, but those two together
- 17:31Speaker 1: don't go together.
- 17:33Speaker 6: JC on the campus of the Pearl Pirates. He basically
- 17:37Speaker 6: blamed Brandon's cheating on the calendar and said other people
- 17:42Speaker 6: do it too. Plus you made up a word. Pronunciate, well, pronunciate.
- 17:48Speaker 1: You'll mean it's a word. It's a word? Is it
- 17:52Speaker 1: not a word? Ah?
- 17:53Speaker 6: I've never known it to be a word. Oh, come on,
- 17:56Speaker 6: I've heard you say it one hundred and seventy three times,
- 18:00Speaker 6: but I've never actually thought it was an actual word.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to look this up. I think it
- 18:05Speaker 1: may be in the in the dictionary.
- 18:07Speaker 6: Let's see Toddy one month from today. Derogatory slur for
- 18:17Speaker 6: Lane Kiffin that won't be read here. Oh, comes back
- 18:22Speaker 6: to Oxford. Caution, be careful it is.
- 18:25Speaker 1: It's the nineteenth of August and the nineteenth of September.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin, we'll be back in Oxford. Do you think
- 18:32Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin? I mean, think about the police they're gonna
- 18:37Speaker 1: have to put around him, because you know, something's coming
- 18:38Speaker 1: out of that stand, and a lot of them were
- 18:40Speaker 1: coming at him, right. Oh yeah, I mean, regardless of
- 18:43Speaker 1: what he did there and all the success that was
- 18:45Speaker 1: going that was there the run last year obviously that
- 18:48Speaker 1: was you know, put a bow on it with Pete Golding.
- 18:51Speaker 1: You know something's coming out of that stand. I mean,
- 18:53Speaker 1: how many people are gonna get arrested that game.
- 18:56Speaker 7: That's gonna be a good bit.
- 18:58Speaker 6: Yeah, because Jake, you know you've heard this so many
- 19:02Speaker 6: times throughout the years when someone, let's say, a player
- 19:06Speaker 6: that you hate, or even a coach really but a
- 19:08Speaker 6: player that you hate somewhere goes to your favorite team
- 19:13Speaker 6: and the old saying is amazing what a change in
- 19:16Speaker 6: team colors can do.
- 19:18Speaker 7: Same with the coach.
- 19:19Speaker 6: So, despite the success he had at all, miss despite
- 19:23Speaker 6: how much you loved him for his ten win seasons,
- 19:27Speaker 6: the majority of people hate his guts now. So yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 6: it's gonna get I expect it to be pretty bad.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Hey Rod with MISSIPI sports Medicine. I know, b
- 19:37Speaker 1: if you hadn't met him, Almot, get him in the studio
- 19:39Speaker 1: to meet you. You'll love Rod. He's keeping me straight
- 19:41Speaker 1: while I'm not with you. He just passed me his phone.
- 19:45Speaker 1: The word pronunciate is generally considered a non standard or
- 19:48Speaker 1: incorrect mix up of words of the words pronounce and enunciate.
- 19:53Speaker 1: So Rod Rod is on y'all's team over there. He's
- 19:58Speaker 1: telling me that's you're using a that doesn't exist.
- 20:01Speaker 7: Eh.
- 20:03Speaker 6: We got a text from mister d X he says,
- 20:08Speaker 6: Jake is always ahead of the game.
- 20:10Speaker 7: Well, there's a nice way to spin it, isn't it.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 20:15Speaker 7: But then he says, and stop the vaping.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I'm working on And he.
- 20:20Speaker 6: Sent that text three times, by the way, so he's
- 20:23Speaker 6: real serious about it.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Well, he just cares. He just cares.
- 20:27Speaker 7: Let's see, and j c.

- 22:44Speaker 1: into next week for you on Roosevelt's. Get out and
- 22:48Speaker 1: enjoy today, all right, bev. Here is this story coming
- 22:53Speaker 1: out of Penn State. This was yesterday. Thirteen Penn State
- 22:58Speaker 1: fraternity brothers charged with running a major cocaine trafficking ring
- 23:03Speaker 1: and with some pledges in the fraternity, allegedly forced to
- 23:07Speaker 1: cut and package cocaine as part of their quote indoctrination
- 23:12Speaker 1: into the fraternity. And if you saw these two guys,
- 23:16Speaker 1: one of them looks like he's definitely going to jail
- 23:18Speaker 1: and the other one looks like he's possibly a US
- 23:20Speaker 1: senator moving forward, and the alleged Penn State cocaine kingpin,
- 23:26Speaker 1: they dubbed him Pablo Pledge Scobar. And they've even created
- 23:31Speaker 1: T shirts for this guy. Had you heard this story? No,
- 23:35Speaker 1: it's crazy? Yeah, yeah. They've even got a new Penn
- 23:39Speaker 1: State shirt for Penn State whiteouts, the white out football
- 23:43Speaker 1: games with the Penn State That guy sitting here looking
- 23:46Speaker 1: like something off the Sopranos with a bunch of white
- 23:51Speaker 1: stuff in front of this story is absolutely crazy, and
- 23:57Speaker 1: they've nicknamed this guy all kinds of stuff. Also, any
- 24:00Speaker 1: thoughts on Pat McAfee now going to Monday Night Countdown?
- 24:04Speaker 7: Man?
- 24:05Speaker 6: I look, I guess when he's the new Mike Greenberg. Yeah,
- 24:09Speaker 6: Mike Greenberg used to be on every single thing seemingly
- 24:14Speaker 6: that ESPN did, and now it's Pat McAfee. And look,
- 24:17Speaker 6: when you're trying to center your network around two people,
- 24:20Speaker 6: Steven A. Smith and Pat McAfee, I guess with all
- 24:24Speaker 6: the money you're paying them, I guess the thinking says, well,
- 24:30Speaker 6: we got to get our money's worth.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, and again for me, I can take
- 24:36Speaker 1: or leave Pat McAfee. Some of the stuff he does
- 24:38Speaker 1: is good, and then some of the like the whole
- 24:40Speaker 1: sideline stuff that they do where they have him and
- 24:42Speaker 1: two other guys and you can turn to the whatever broadcast.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I'm not a big fan of that. All right, let
- 24:48Speaker 1: me get you caught up over here real quick. I
- 24:52Speaker 1: am looking. You've got some quarterbacks that's named out here.
- 24:56Speaker 1: I'm trying to see if there's anything else on this
- 24:57Speaker 1: story from this weekend. Let's see Chris Brooks and I
- 25:02Speaker 1: will share this. This was two minutes ago. Uh, don't
- 25:05Speaker 1: forget about Missippi Gridiron. You can get missi Bi Gridiron.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Go to ms gridiron dot com. You can get a
- 25:10Speaker 1: free digital copy right now. It is out there. And then,
- 25:14Speaker 1: of course, if you want the hard back, you know,
- 25:16Speaker 1: the true magazine. Uh, you can submit an order to
- 25:19Speaker 1: Chris and he'll get one cent over to you. But uh,
- 25:21Speaker 1: he has the preseason m H. I say a seven
- 25:24Speaker 1: to eight All state team. Uh. And let's take a
- 25:27Speaker 1: look at that team real quickly offensively. Uh Slatonshack quarterback
- 25:32Speaker 1: out of Brandon Kingston Johnson.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Uh.
- 25:34Speaker 1: The added you know, extra player uh Kingston Johnson is
- 25:37Speaker 1: gonna be a handful this year. There for Startville Colin
- 25:40Speaker 1: Bobo running back Tyson Robinson running back Colin Bobo out
- 25:43Speaker 1: of two polow Those two square off next week.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Uh.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Deshaun Dillon, who we saw yesterday at Northwest rankin first
- 25:49Speaker 1: team wide receiver Jordan Wally out of the Iraville And yes,
- 25:52Speaker 1: that Wally name is the same Wally. Uh went to
- 25:55Speaker 1: one went to Missippi State one, went to Minnesota in
- 25:59Speaker 1: the Big Ten, and I believe Jordan Waly has committed
- 26:01Speaker 1: to Minnesota as well from the Iberville Also Davis Caruth
- 26:07Speaker 1: out of Oxford. And congratulations to Chris for this. I
- 26:12Speaker 1: fuffised to give him some credit. Maybe we swayed this.
- 26:15Speaker 1: You know, I've been telling you these these preseason All State,
- 26:18Speaker 1: all Region, all whatever teams. They do the old fashioned
- 26:21Speaker 1: running back to two running backs, two receivers, a tight end,
- 26:24Speaker 1: a quarterback. Chris did a quarterback, an extra player, two
- 26:29Speaker 1: running backs and three wide receivers, So congratulations for him
- 26:32Speaker 1: making the adjustment here. Offensive linemen come from Germantown, Oak Grove,
- 26:38Speaker 1: two Polo, two from Tupelo UH and one from Oxford
- 26:42Speaker 1: and the kicker from Oxford. On the defensive side in
- 26:44Speaker 1: seven a defensive lineman Devin Robertson maybe the best in
- 26:49Speaker 1: the state Oak Grove, I believe he has committed to
- 26:52Speaker 1: I think at SEC school is SEC or big ten school,
- 26:55Speaker 1: big time program. Also Lawrence Robertson golf Port and Andre
- 26:59Speaker 1: matt from Oxford. Also a defensive lineman, Tyland Patty from Startville.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Three linebackers coming from two Polo Brandon and Madison Central,
- 27:09Speaker 1: and a fourth one from two Polo and boy, if
- 27:12Speaker 1: you don't believe Tupolo is gonna be good. I mean
- 27:14Speaker 1: they've got two linebackers on the All State team and
- 27:18Speaker 1: they've got two offensive linemen as well on the All
- 27:22Speaker 1: State team. Tu blow is going to be a handful.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Let's see defense, DB's Oak Grove West, Harrison Brandon and
- 27:31Speaker 1: two from Brandon and then a punter from Oak Grove.
- 27:34Speaker 1: So that is your all State team courtesy of Chris Brooks.
- 27:39Speaker 1: And uh he's also got the four A All state teams
- 27:42Speaker 1: out there. I'll share that. You can get that just
- 27:45Speaker 1: you can get it at MS Gridiron on X or
- 27:49Speaker 1: on the Clinton Body Shop, X feet at Jake wim
- 27:52Speaker 1: six or one eight eight five three seven seven six
- 27:55Speaker 1: if you want to Texas and of course that's a
- 27:58Speaker 1: couple of millennions text line and also you can call
- 28:02Speaker 1: us on the Missippi Sports Medicine collar line six or
- 28:04Speaker 1: one eight nine seven one zero five nine. Drake London's
- 28:06Speaker 1: doing some big things at the Falcons training camp. There's
- 28:08Speaker 1: some great video out there, boy, I mean he is
- 28:11Speaker 1: really getting out there and having a great camp here
- 28:15Speaker 1: for the for the Atlanta Falcons. Also got another battle
- 28:19Speaker 1: the Steelers on Steelers Violence as their training camp today
- 28:25Speaker 1: h safety Deshaun Elliott versus tight end Jaheem Bell. For
- 28:30Speaker 1: these NFL camps, they get crazy. I mean head on
- 28:32Speaker 1: a swivel uh. I mean it's it's it's a battle role,
- 28:36Speaker 1: it's a thundered ome. It's some of these training camps. Also.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Pete Nako's also reporting more on this story coming out
- 28:42Speaker 1: of the state of Louisiana, led by Buccaneers Edge Russier,
- 28:46Speaker 1: Jack Pieburn, former LSU product, and fifteen others in the
- 28:51Speaker 1: NFL in training camp who just left college. They're on
- 28:55Speaker 1: a now a temporary restraining order looking for a fifth
- 28:57Speaker 1: year college NACO says pro the signed old in Louisiana,
- 29:00Speaker 1: the sixteen college football players will be allowed to enter
- 29:03Speaker 1: the transfer portal. Quote. The NCAA is ordered to open
- 29:06Speaker 1: the transfer portal for one week from entry of this order.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Now again, this is all muddied and confusing because you've
- 29:16Speaker 1: got the order that happened in the state of Colorado
- 29:19Speaker 1: where you had to go back to your teams. Now
- 29:21Speaker 1: you've got this order out of the state of Louisiana
- 29:22Speaker 1: where they're telling the nc double A, and I love
- 29:25Speaker 1: how they do this. You've got to open the transfer portal.
- 29:27Speaker 1: It's like it's some magic door that you've got to open.
- 29:31Speaker 1: I feel like we're watching Star Trek, like open the
- 29:33Speaker 1: portal so we can crawl through it, and you got
- 29:37Speaker 1: one week. I'm trying to get some clarification on this.
- 29:43Speaker 1: It says Right, is that they have to go to
- 29:45Speaker 1: the same team they come back from or can they
- 29:47Speaker 1: go to any team? Because if they can go to
- 29:49Speaker 1: any team, this really gets crazy because you know there's
- 29:52Speaker 1: going to be some people that maybe want to cut
- 29:57Speaker 1: somebody and you know, try to make a home for
- 30:02Speaker 1: some of these let's see. Right is currently with NFL
- 30:04Speaker 1: training camp with Cleveland Browns, while Hankerson is with the Seahawks.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Attorneys on the case are Ryan Dalton and Darren Heidner. Says,
- 30:12Speaker 1: per the signed order in Louisiana, the sixteen college players
- 30:16Speaker 1: will be allowed to enter the transfer portal of the
- 30:18Speaker 1: NCAA's rule of Restitution and ghost transfer rule are also enjoyed.
- 30:24Speaker 1: I don't even know if enjoyed. The nc double A
- 30:27Speaker 1: is ordered to open the transfer portal for one week
- 30:29Speaker 1: from entry of this order. The temporary restraining order states
- 30:34Speaker 1: the tro players currently on NFL rosters have expressed an
- 30:38Speaker 1: interest in being released from their NFL contracts. According to
- 30:41Speaker 1: Dalton Downton and NFL teams that release them by September
- 30:45Speaker 1: one would be allowed to join a college football roster.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Under so it says a college football roster, I take
- 30:50Speaker 1: that as that can be any roster. So that would
- 30:53Speaker 1: be you know when I hear a college football roster.
- 30:56Speaker 1: And here's what's going on. These guys want the fifth year.
- 31:02Speaker 1: They're playing off the fifth year because moving forward, you
- 31:05Speaker 1: got five to play five, and you had some that
- 31:10Speaker 1: you know, five to play five moving forward, and you
- 31:12Speaker 1: got some that got the fifth year off the twenty
- 31:13Speaker 1: twenty two to twenty twenty three deal. And these guys know,
- 31:18Speaker 1: they're not dumb. They're not gonna make the fifty three
- 31:20Speaker 1: man in the NFL. They're not They're not gonna make
- 31:22Speaker 1: the fifty three man, which means they're gonna live in limbo,
- 31:25Speaker 1: maybe have to try to make a practice squad or
- 31:27Speaker 1: be on a practice squad with say the Bucks, who
- 31:29Speaker 1: they're already with, or the Ravens or whoever. They're gonna
- 31:32Speaker 1: make pennies. They know they can go back to college
- 31:35Speaker 1: for at least one year, make a lot of money
- 31:38Speaker 1: and then maybe improve their stock to come back the
- 31:41Speaker 1: next year. So it's just a jumbled mess out here
- 31:44Speaker 1: in the world of college athletics. We're brought to you

- 33:33Speaker 1: be at Jackson Prep on Friday? Be you anything else
- 33:37Speaker 1: over there that you need to get to?
- 33:39Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 33:39Speaker 6: A few texts here, Let's see you ready, Teddy. Props
- 33:46Speaker 6: to YouTube gentlemen on your show attendance. You show up
- 33:50Speaker 6: more than my man bo brunch time bounds in the
- 33:54Speaker 6: morning and my guy Matt C. Wyatt for the twelve
- 33:58Speaker 6: to two slot.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Well, I can't speak of anything in the morning that
- 34:02Speaker 1: goes on there. I will say with Matt Wyatt Bieber,
- 34:06Speaker 1: was he shopping for gatorade? Today? Man?
- 34:08Speaker 6: With the excuses he gives me like he's that's basically
- 34:12Speaker 6: where we're at.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll go with Gatorade. Maybe he'll be back tomorrow,
- 34:18Speaker 1: it will be Thursday.
- 34:19Speaker 6: We'll see, let's see, Lee Dog, he's pumped about. Okay,
- 34:26Speaker 6: all right, Jake, So you're a week ahead, Lee Dog.
- 34:30Speaker 6: He says, Google Dolls tonight. He's pumped because tonight's the
- 34:35Speaker 6: Goo Goo Dolls show at the Brandon Amphitheater. Now, the
- 34:38Speaker 6: reason I say you're a week ahead is because when
- 34:40Speaker 6: I read that text, I said, I says to myself,
- 34:44Speaker 6: oh crap, it's already August nineteenth. And I looked up
- 34:48Speaker 6: and I was like, it is the nineteenth, because I
- 34:50Speaker 6: knew that was the date of the show, but I
- 34:51Speaker 6: didn't know we were already at the nineteenth. So I'm
- 34:54Speaker 6: in the past while you're in the future.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Maybe that brings us together where we are. Did we
- 34:59Speaker 1: do a promotion for the No, we need to get
- 35:02Speaker 1: on the ticket. Girl about this? Are you going now?
- 35:07Speaker 1: Is it one you wanted to go to?
- 35:08Speaker 7: Yeah? I like, I like Google Dolls.
- 35:11Speaker 6: They're still I mean, you know, they're not heavy in
- 35:14Speaker 6: my rotation, but that's it was. It was a junior
- 35:18Speaker 6: they were a junior high favorite. We'll say that they
- 35:20Speaker 6: still name still holds a plays deep deep in my heart.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, they were. They were good. There ain't no doubt.
- 35:28Speaker 6: Ugly Mustard says, practice squad guys don't make pennies. Average
- 35:34Speaker 6: salary is about three hundred and thirty thousand for eighteen weeks.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Well no, okay, humor me on the pennies comment. It's
- 35:42Speaker 1: pennies compared to coming back to college to where if
- 35:46Speaker 1: you're an all conference player, and let's just say take
- 35:50Speaker 1: one of these old missplayers, it was all all of
- 35:52Speaker 1: them are all SEC and now you get an injunction
- 35:55Speaker 1: back into the college for one week and the transfer
- 35:57Speaker 1: portal opens. Let's say Ohio State has a spot open.
- 36:01Speaker 1: They may pay you seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars
- 36:04Speaker 1: to come back for one year. So you're coming back,
- 36:07Speaker 1: you're getting all the amenities, you're getting all because think
- 36:10Speaker 1: about this, these guys that are in the NFL, they
- 36:13Speaker 1: have to have housing that they pay for, they have
- 36:16Speaker 1: to have you know, travel that they pay for. All
- 36:19Speaker 1: of that's taking care of in college. So it's a
- 36:22Speaker 1: big raise, a potential raise for a lot of these
- 36:25Speaker 1: guys to come back to college for one year. I
- 36:27Speaker 1: mean it really is anything else?
- 36:33Speaker 6: All called up on the texts, Hey, do you have
- 36:35Speaker 6: any thoughts?
- 36:36Speaker 1: Do you think is res Dog get fired up about this?
- 36:39Speaker 1: Miss This Coast Classic Hancock Whitney Coast Classic baseball from
- 36:43Speaker 1: Mississippi State October ninth against Auburn and October tenth against
- 36:46Speaker 1: Southern miss Man.
- 36:48Speaker 7: I hope he's not.
- 36:49Speaker 6: I hope res Dog's not the kind of person who
- 36:52Speaker 6: gets fired up for exhibition baseball.
- 36:55Speaker 1: They'll look it depends on State's football season. Right. If
- 36:59Speaker 1: State off the map in September, this place will be packed.
- 37:04Speaker 1: It's gonna be packed regardless. But State fans will flock
- 37:09Speaker 1: Kessler Federal Federal Park down in Biloxi, where the shuckers
- 37:13Speaker 1: are at. They will flock to that. Let's see here. Yeah,
- 37:20Speaker 1: And if you look at some of this, it's like
- 37:23Speaker 1: Francis this was put out by miss Ole Miss Rebels
- 37:26Speaker 1: on Sports Illustratium. Three o miss football stars could be
- 37:30Speaker 1: on their way back to Oxford. A major court ruling
- 37:32Speaker 1: has opened the door for Daikwon Wright Xavian Harrison White
- 37:36Speaker 1: at Williams Junior to return to college football. Now here's
- 37:39Speaker 1: the thing. All of these guys, I think if they
- 37:43Speaker 1: can come back and have an opportunity to come back
- 37:47Speaker 1: at the school they just left. They will do it
- 37:48Speaker 1: if they're on good stand Most of them are, especially
- 37:51Speaker 1: you take these three guys, I mean Ole Miss. We
- 37:53Speaker 1: talked to Michael Katson and I renumber one. Ole Miss
- 37:55Speaker 1: feels really good about their defense. They feel like this
- 37:57Speaker 1: could be close to the twenty twenty four defense, which
- 37:59Speaker 1: was really good, one of the best name nationally. Now
- 38:02Speaker 1: you're talking about in certain three guys off last year
- 38:05Speaker 1: that were starters. Could lord, I mean you talk about
- 38:08Speaker 1: a juice shot in the arm of just adrenaline to
- 38:12Speaker 1: get guys back. I'll be interested to see how Vegas, yes,
- 38:19Speaker 1: the degenerate side, how they would rank. You know, you
- 38:21Speaker 1: look at lines. I mean you take Old Miss, who's
- 38:23Speaker 1: like a five and a half to seven point favorite
- 38:25Speaker 1: over Louisville. You get three guys back from defense. Is
- 38:28Speaker 1: that Is that a two point swing? Is that a
- 38:30Speaker 1: three point swing? You know, in just looking at this,
- 38:34Speaker 1: I mean this, you've got one guy from James Madison,
- 38:38Speaker 1: three from Ole Miss, one from LSU. And you know
- 38:41Speaker 1: you take a starting edge rusher and Jack Pibron Lane
- 38:45Speaker 1: Kiffin's gonna bring him back. I mean that that just
- 38:47Speaker 1: gives him another all conference defensive end. That Jack Pibron
- 38:53Speaker 1: played in the Senior Bowl. Think about that now, Jack
- 38:55Speaker 1: Pibron played right his left he played in the Senior Bowl.
- 38:59Speaker 1: That that's the last game of games for the best
- 39:03Speaker 1: in college that are going to the NFL to go
- 39:06Speaker 1: showcase their talents. After the Combine, you go to the
- 39:09Speaker 1: Senior Bowl or another senior bowls before the Combine. Sorry,
- 39:12Speaker 1: Senior Bowl, then Combine. But you I mean you're on
- 39:14Speaker 1: the parade out the door, but now you're coming back.
- 39:17Speaker 1: I mean, this is just crazy, absolute crazy. Uh don't
- 39:21Speaker 1: don't think DQ Smith, I mean South Carolina he was
- 39:24Speaker 1: on All SEC safety that Shane Bimber wouldn't take him back.
- 39:29Speaker 1: So this is just a crazy, crazy story, you know,
- 39:34Speaker 1: coming out here today in college college football. Let's see
- 39:40Speaker 1: also Mississippi State news here, Missippi State and Tulsa are
- 39:44Speaker 1: finalizing an agreement to meet in a neutral site game
- 39:46Speaker 1: in basketball on Friday, November twentieth in Jackson. So how
- 39:50Speaker 1: about that Missippi State and Tulsa possibly coming to the
- 39:53Speaker 1: Big House for November twentieth in men's basketball. That would
- 39:57Speaker 1: be big And also, so you got a big defensive
- 40:01Speaker 1: lineman now from Notre Dame junior. I'm gonna call him
- 40:05Speaker 1: Tua because I can't pronounce it his last name. He
- 40:08Speaker 1: wants to come back, and again, Marcus Freeman, they're gonna
- 40:10Speaker 1: have one of the best defenses in college football. Don't
- 40:14Speaker 1: think they're not gonna take this guy back. I mean
- 40:16Speaker 1: they'll plug him right back in there. So you know,
- 40:19Speaker 1: this is a gift for a lot of colleges. It
- 40:22Speaker 1: is a nightmare disaster for the sport. I think just
- 40:25Speaker 1: because of again it's somebody one of the coaches, I
- 40:30Speaker 1: think it was Coach Der was in here talking during
- 40:31Speaker 1: the break. He said, Hey, look, schools already started in
- 40:33Speaker 1: some of these places. So what they're gonna do about
- 40:35Speaker 1: that classes have already begun. I don't know how they're
- 40:38Speaker 1: gonna quote unquote unpack all this. Boise State has dropped
- 40:43Speaker 1: a new helmet. By the way, it is very, very sharp.
- 40:45Speaker 1: And again, you know, in the uniform race this year,
- 40:48Speaker 1: I'm giving it to the colleges over the NFL. The
- 40:51Speaker 1: some of the NFL uniforms are very whatever. The colleges
- 40:54Speaker 1: that I've seen, like Boise's helmet looked really good. We
- 40:57Speaker 1: talked about two lanes that came out last week the
- 40:59Speaker 1: Mardi Gras audition. They look unbelievable. I mean they are fantastic.
- 41:03Speaker 1: So College is really stepping their game up on a
- 41:07Speaker 1: lot of this. Let's see here. Also, yeah, Drake London
- 41:13Speaker 1: is just getting a lot of time on social media.
- 41:14Speaker 1: He has made some plays in training camp there for
- 41:18Speaker 1: the Falcons. Want to say thanks to Pearl High School.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Thanks to coach Schooler. Also Ty Weems see athletics director
- 41:24Speaker 1: and their team here Pirate Day on your radio. Thanks
- 41:27Speaker 1: to Michael Katz, Sam Williams, head football coach. Ums right,
- 41:30Speaker 1: thanks to Rod. To my left, MISISISPPI Sports Medicine. Thanks
- 41:33Speaker 1: to be Remember catchup its King Bacon's a delicacy. Aloha
- 41:36Speaker 1: means goodbye. Be a man of increase. We have reached
- 41:39Speaker 1: the crescendo on a Wednesday. We'll be with Keith Hardy
- 41:41Speaker 1: tomorrow at a Meristar.
- 41:42Speaker 10: I see them again.
- 42:01Speaker 6: The
