• 0:26
Speaker 3: prompably presented by Attorney Frank Walker, Real Talk, real experience,
• 0:30
Speaker 3: real results, Frank Walker Law dot Com. Let that conversation
• 0:34
Speaker 3: begin on Let's Talk.
• 0:36
Speaker 4: Hello, ladies and gentlemen, this is Carl Lee with Let's Talk.
• 0:39
Speaker 4: And uh, we have a repeat guest in the building
• 0:44
Speaker 4: today for a I'll say a special reason and Hollis
• 0:50
Speaker 4: is gonna give us a little bit of an introduction
• 0:52
Speaker 4: and we'll go from there. Well, we got Malcolm Brown
• 0:55
Speaker 4: at this point. Former South Charleston Black Eagles bath football player,
• 1:01
Speaker 4: recently played in the North South Game this past weekend.
• 1:04
Speaker 4: Not only did he play in one game, he played
• 1:06
Speaker 4: in both games. So he played in the football game,
• 1:08
Speaker 4: played in the basketball game. And again we believe pretty
• 1:11
Speaker 4: historic from what we know. I don't know if too
• 1:14
Speaker 4: many people throughout the history of the All Star Game
• 1:16
Speaker 4: here in West Virginia's actually played in both games. It
• 1:19
Speaker 4: might have been named to both, but I don't know
• 1:21
Speaker 4: too many people that played them both. What's going on, Malcolm,
• 1:24
  Speaker 4: How you doing?
• 1:25
  Speaker 5: What's up?
• 1:25
  Speaker 6: How y'all doing?
• 1:26
Speaker 4: We're good man, And let me let me say this
• 1:30
Speaker 4: to start out. One of the and I've known you
• 1:33
Speaker 4: for for a while, and one of the one of
• 1:37
Speaker 4: the even more special things about you, even going past
• 1:42
Speaker 4: your your skill sets in football and basketball, just a
• 1:47
Speaker 4: good just a good person, you know, just a just
• 1:50
  Speaker 4: a good guy. And I can't even if you didn't
• 1:55
Speaker 4: tell me what he how good he was or what
• 1:59
Speaker 4: he was good, I don't even think I would even know,
• 2:02
Speaker 4: because I don't even think, I mean, even his mannerisms
• 2:06
Speaker 4: do not even reflect as an athlete typically would his
• 2:13
Speaker 4: skill set. And and for that, man, I think that's
• 2:16
Speaker 4: something really really special about you that I think will
• 2:22
Speaker 4: will even be even more helpful for you going forward
• 2:28
Speaker 4: than any any drills that you can do. I just
• 2:33
Speaker 4: I just wanted to give you that information from me
• 2:36
  Speaker 4: to you.
• 2:37
Speaker 6: All right now, I'm going to jump into.
• 2:43
Speaker 4: How when I think about football and basketball, I was
• 2:45
Speaker 4: horrible in basketball. Even though I was I could make
• 2:48
  Speaker 4: a case that I was a starter, okay, but I
• 2:51
  Speaker 4: wasn't a shooter.
• 2:52
  Speaker 6: I could.
• 2:52
Speaker 4: I was just a rebounder and the guy covering people.
• 2:56
Speaker 4: Football was a different story. I felt like that was
• 3:00
Speaker 4: that was my game. You've you've excelled in both of
• 3:05
Speaker 4: those games. What does that feel like or is that
• 3:08
Speaker 4: just a norm for you? You just feel like normal,
• 3:11
Speaker 4: You're just going out playing.
• 3:13
Speaker 7: I mean, honestly, it feels like normal. I've been doing
• 3:15
Speaker 7: this since six years old, since I started at Dumb
• 3:17
Speaker 7: Bar with Coach Cuddy and them, since first time I
• 3:20
Speaker 7: touched the football, I think I ran it for a touchdown.
• 3:23
  Speaker 5: And honestly, to.
• 3:24
Speaker 7: Me, football football is not as hard to play like basketball.
• 3:28
Speaker 7: If you're not scared to get hit, not scared of contact,
• 3:31
Speaker 7: and you're willing to do whatever whatever the coach say,
• 3:33
Speaker 7: you can go out there and be good at football.
• 3:35
Speaker 7: No basketball, on the other hand, that's more skill wise.
• 3:37
Speaker 7: You gotta work on your game. And I feel like
• 3:39
Speaker 7: I got to touch with the basketball, so it's just everything.
• 3:42
Speaker 5: It's kind of normal to me.
• 3:44
Speaker 6: I hear you, how did it feel like?
• 3:46
Speaker 4: I said, we don't know, And again, we've been around
• 3:49
Speaker 4: for a while and I can't name you too many people.
• 3:51
Speaker 4: I can't name you anybody that may personally know again,
• 3:54
Speaker 4: I think I can probably think of some guys who've
• 3:57
Speaker 4: been named to both teams, but I don't know if
• 3:59
Speaker 4: any body that actually played in both games. So how
• 4:03
Speaker 4: has this passed week been as far as that is concerned.
• 4:06
  Speaker 6: Oh?
• 4:07
Speaker 5: Man, it was. It was an honor.
• 4:08
Speaker 7: It was a great opportunity. Thankful, you know. I got
• 4:10
Speaker 7: to thank God. We had FCA come and they was
• 4:14
Speaker 7: talking about God and how athletes need to start putting
• 4:17
Speaker 7: God first, and I feel like I need to start
• 4:20
Speaker 7: doing that. So with that, I want to thank God
• 4:22
Speaker 7: for that because He's the reason that I'm able to
• 4:24
  Speaker 7: do all this.
• 4:25
Speaker 6: Sweet I hear you.
• 4:26
Speaker 8: So, Malcolm, Hey, thanks so much for being on the
• 4:29
Speaker 8: podcast with us tonight. We're honored to have you after
• 4:32
Speaker 8: the feat you accomplished over the weekend, So thanks for
• 4:36
Speaker 8: spending your time with us. So the guys just just
• 4:39
Speaker 8: kind of touched on this that you played in both
• 4:41
Speaker 8: the North South Basketball and Football Classic. How tough was
• 4:45
Speaker 8: the physical toll of scoring, you know, twelve points on
• 4:49
Speaker 8: the basketball court Friday night and then you're lining up
• 4:52
Speaker 8: at defensive and running back the very next day. Was
• 4:55
Speaker 8: that a big physical adjustment for you?
• 4:58
Speaker 5: It wasn't really a big physical adjustment. I would say,
• 5:00
Speaker 5: I'm kind of used.
• 5:01
Speaker 7: To it because of like AAU, we would play a
• 5:03
Speaker 7: couple of games on Friday. Next next day we're playing
• 5:06
Speaker 7: another couple of games. So I'm kind of used to
• 5:08
Speaker 7: that back to back stuff.
• 5:09
Speaker 4: Okay, so you you also played AAU. Did you play
• 5:15
Speaker 4: that for the for the I'll say the extra opportunity
• 5:21
Speaker 4: to have to go get greater talent, that that's that's
• 5:25
Speaker 4: usually what the reasoning for that is that really what
• 5:28
Speaker 4: you were trying to chase or just playing more.
• 5:33
Speaker 7: When I first started AU in Virginia, I was like,
• 5:37
Speaker 7: I think sixth seventh grade. I think at that time,
• 5:40
Speaker 7: I was just starting to play more and I just
• 5:42
Speaker 7: loved basketball. But then once I got older into high school,
• 5:45
Speaker 7: I was looking as more of like opportunities to get
• 5:47
Speaker 7: looked at trying to get to college.
• 5:50
Speaker 6: What are you doing?
• 5:52
Speaker 4: What are you working out now? And if so, what
• 5:56
Speaker 4: is kind of your regimen if you if you have
• 5:59
Speaker 4: one already set out for yourself now?
• 6:01
Speaker 7: Uh, yeah, I do work out now. I haven't really
• 6:03
Speaker 7: had a regiment ever since I got out of school.
• 6:05
Speaker 7: I've kind of been busy, like the North South week
• 6:08
Speaker 7: week for football, and then I went to Senior Week.
• 6:11
Speaker 7: But I mean, honestly, I just try to stay in
• 6:13
  Speaker 7: the gym get shot up. I haven't really I don't
• 6:14
Speaker 7: work out too much, but I do. I do push
• 6:16
Speaker 7: ups in the morning and then before I go to sleep,
• 6:18
Speaker 7: just to keep my strength.
• 6:21
Speaker 4: Don't say that too loud.
• 6:23
  Speaker 6: Of this man.
• 6:26
Speaker 4: Speaking of college, you are you signed? So let people
• 6:30
Speaker 4: know where you're going to college. And again, you had
• 6:33
Speaker 4: multiple offers. I believe you got offered from Concord Fremont
• 6:37
Speaker 4: in different schools to play some football, some basketball. So
• 6:41
Speaker 4: let people know where you're going and what sport you're
• 6:44
Speaker 4: gonna playing at the next level.
• 6:46
Speaker 7: I've committed to the school in North Dakota's to Juco
• 6:48
Speaker 7: is called Nueta Adata Spanish college, and it's I'm going
• 6:52
Speaker 7: there to play basketball.
• 6:53
Speaker 6: Okay, So what what? What was this? What decision?
• 6:57
Speaker 4: What was behind the decision number one to play bass
• 7:00
Speaker 4: basketball and then number two to go to that specific
• 7:02
Speaker 4: university in North Dakota.
• 7:04
Speaker 7: So the reason how I chose between basketball football? Honestly,
• 7:08
Speaker 7: I love both the sports the same. I can't pick
• 7:10
Speaker 7: which one I like more. But then I thought about
• 7:12
Speaker 7: career wise and how long I would last, and football
• 7:16
Speaker 7: usually you lasted probably about like twenty six and as
• 7:19
Speaker 7: a running back, I'm getting hit every single place, So
• 7:21
Speaker 7: that's a lot on the body, and for basketball could
• 7:23
Speaker 7: make that last longer.
• 7:24
  Speaker 5: And with my.
• 7:25
Speaker 7: Height, people expect me to choose football. That's what everybody expects,
• 7:29
Speaker 7: So I want to do people don't expect. So I
• 7:31
Speaker 7: want to try basketball. And the reason I chose this
• 7:34
Speaker 7: school out there because I didn't have no official basketball offers.
• 7:39
Speaker 5: I had zero office for basketball.
• 7:40
Speaker 4: Okay, I thought I had the mistaken I thought you
• 7:42
Speaker 4: had some basketball offers along with the I had.
• 7:44
Speaker 7: I had some like not offers, but like I've like
• 7:48
Speaker 7: cooped with colleges, went to some camps and stuff like that.
• 7:51
Speaker 6: So he had to like invited to walk on at
• 7:52
Speaker 6: different things of that nature.
• 7:53
Speaker 7: Yes, contact that so, but all my offers was for football.
• 7:57
Speaker 7: So when that opportunity came and I was like, Okay,
• 8:00
Speaker 7: out there on a visit, I liked the school and everything.
• 8:02
  Speaker 5: Everything was good.
• 8:03
Speaker 7: I got to hoop with the team for a little
• 8:05
Speaker 7: bit and I was like, yeah, I think I like this,
• 8:07
Speaker 7: So I went in and committed.
• 8:08
Speaker 4: Okay, now, North Dakota, that's off the beaten path a
• 8:12
Speaker 4: lot of people. Yeah, a lot of people would look
• 8:15
Speaker 4: at me like, wow, that's number one as far it's
• 8:18
Speaker 4: kind of the middle of nowhere. What are your thoughts
• 8:20
Speaker 4: about going to a place that's maybe even a little
• 8:23
Speaker 4: bit more isolated in West.
• 8:25
Speaker 7: Virginia, I'm thinking of just grind. It's just like it's
• 8:28
Speaker 7: a Juico. I gotta go out there and grind. Honestly,
• 8:30
Speaker 7: I'm not looking there to stay all three years, because
• 8:32
Speaker 7: I can go out there for three years and still
• 8:34
Speaker 7: have college ouigeability. But now I'm going out there one
• 8:37
Speaker 7: two years and I'm trying to get out get to
• 8:39
Speaker 7: a better school so I can really start my college career.
• 8:43
Speaker 4: If you if you had to, or if you may,
• 8:46
Speaker 4: you may already know what are you looking for for
• 8:50
Speaker 4: you from the jew code? Like are you looking to
• 8:53
Speaker 4: get bigger, stronger, faster, get experienced at at a higher
• 8:59
Speaker 4: level than in high school?
• 9:00
  Speaker 6: What is it?
• 9:01
Speaker 4: What is the motivation to have you go to to
• 9:05
Speaker 4: a juco and find out what it is?
• 9:09
Speaker 6: If that's if there's something justifiable.
• 9:11
Speaker 7: For My motivation is really just showing coaches what I
• 9:15
Speaker 7: could do. I'm trying to make it to the next level,
• 9:17
Speaker 7: and that's always my goal. I want to go d one,
• 9:19
Speaker 7: and I'm looking to get better. I mean, I got
• 9:21
Speaker 7: to develop my shot. My shot can always get better.
• 9:24
Speaker 7: I can always develop my handles. Anything part of the
• 9:26
Speaker 7: game can always get better. I'm never gonna be perfect anything,
• 9:29
Speaker 7: So I'm just looking at everything.
• 9:32
Speaker 5: I gotta get better.
• 9:33
Speaker 8: Okay, So Malcolm, I'm going to take you back to
• 9:36
Speaker 8: your your junior year in basketball at South Darleston High
• 9:40
Speaker 8: School for a second. And you're scoring average. You know,
• 9:43
Speaker 8: as a junior you scored like eleven point two points
• 9:47
Speaker 8: per game, and then you jumped in your senior year
• 9:51
Speaker 8: to an elite twenty two point two points per game.
• 9:54
Speaker 8: What change in your training and your mindset that unlocked
• 9:57
  Speaker 8: that massive surge?
• 10:00
Speaker 7: Honestly, I would say I had I had that talent
• 10:03
Speaker 7: my junior year. It was just there was more. There
• 10:06
Speaker 7: was more, like hands that needed to touch the ball.
• 10:10
Speaker 7: My junior year, we had it. We were kind of
• 10:11
Speaker 7: deep that year. It was me Roman Shady, we had
• 10:15
Speaker 7: Team man Zane, we had we had a bunch of
• 10:17
Speaker 7: Hoopers on the our squad that year, so I didn't
• 10:20
Speaker 7: need to score twenty every game for us to get
• 10:22
Speaker 7: a win. My senior year, I had a younger at
• 10:25
Speaker 7: a younger squad because we had a lot of people
• 10:27
Speaker 7: transferred from our mob, so I had I had to
• 10:30
Speaker 7: get that twenty for us to be a competitive team
• 10:32
  Speaker 7: and win games.
• 10:33
Speaker 4: I love that answer because a lot of times, when
• 10:36
Speaker 4: you know, particularly in this day and age, when people
• 10:38
Speaker 4: are I wouldn't say this day, and it's probably been
• 10:40
Speaker 4: pervasive for a while, but too many times people just
• 10:44
Speaker 4: look at a stat line without understanding the dynamics of
• 10:47
Speaker 4: number one the team and number one what role you
• 10:50
Speaker 4: need to have in the team. It's good that you
• 10:52
Speaker 4: have that perspective because again, when you get to the
• 10:55
Speaker 4: collegiate level, particularly and I'm your point guard, your point guards,
• 10:59
Speaker 4: so your job could be you may be the score,
• 11:03
Speaker 4: but again, depending on the makeup of the team, the
• 11:06
Speaker 4: job could just be to run the offense executed. And
• 11:09
Speaker 4: then going that way, why your stats may not reflect
• 11:12
Speaker 4: what you actually mean to the organization and the team.
• 11:15
Speaker 4: So that's a good way to like not only explain it,
• 11:18
Speaker 4: but just to have that perspective early is important because
• 11:20
Speaker 4: sometimes we just start at one level and then we
• 11:22
Speaker 4: think we're supposed to do the exact same thing at
• 11:25
Speaker 4: the next not understanding our role. And I think that's
• 11:28
  Speaker 4: a and I think I think that's a hard transition
• 11:32
Speaker 4: for anybody, and for you to even be able to
• 11:36
Speaker 4: say it out loud speaks volumes about you understanding what
• 11:42
Speaker 4: a role that you may be going into, because in
• 11:45
Speaker 4: most cases, Holliston, I think me and you would probably
• 11:49
Speaker 4: say we were probably doing the same thing when we
• 11:51
Speaker 4: go when we would be hitting the college, we thinking
• 11:55
Speaker 4: the role is for me to be playing and it's
• 11:58
Speaker 4: about me, you know. And for you to make that
• 12:01
Speaker 4: kind of a statement speaks volumes of who and what
• 12:07
Speaker 4: and how and your approach to this opportunity that you're getting.
• 12:11
Speaker 6: And my hats off to you for that.
• 12:13
Speaker 4: And let me ask you this, like as far and
• 12:15
Speaker 4: again I know the concentration right now, is basketball moving
• 12:18
Speaker 4: forward for the next year or two? Would there be
• 12:20
Speaker 4: because again you know, as you acknowledge, the metrics are
• 12:24
Speaker 4: the metrics, right, but again that doesn't always tell the story.
• 12:28
Speaker 4: But would there be any in your mind? Would you
• 12:31
Speaker 4: have any consideration for football down the line? Or is
• 12:35
Speaker 4: it that you just shut the dream on that you
• 12:37
Speaker 4: just focus on basketball at this point?
• 12:39
Speaker 7: I mean, like, so when I went out to Virginia
• 12:42
Speaker 7: and this is kind of off topic, but similar I
• 12:45
Speaker 7: had to put football down for a while and football
• 12:47
Speaker 7: came back, so I never really want to push it away.
• 12:49
  Speaker 7: But like, let's say, if I get to a D
• 12:52
Speaker 7: one school for basketball, right and they would set me
• 12:54
Speaker 7: to walk on for football, then yeah, I take that
• 12:57
Speaker 7: opportunity again. Of course, because I'm a competitor and like
• 12:59
Speaker 7: I said, I love the game, so I would always
• 13:01
Speaker 7: put the pass back on one more time. But honestly, I'm
• 13:04
Speaker 7: just focused on basketball until that opportunity comes.
• 13:07
  Speaker 6: Okay.
• 13:07
Speaker 4: And that was kind of the deal at Conquer where
• 13:09
Speaker 4: they wanted you to play both. Am I correcting it?
• 13:12
  Speaker 6: Yeah? It was.
• 13:12
Speaker 7: It was talked about playing both when I went on
• 13:14
Speaker 7: to the visit, but then new COACHEC came and I
• 13:18
Speaker 7: never really got in contact with that coach.
• 13:19
Speaker 6: Okay, got you all right?
• 13:22
Speaker 8: So so do you like to be called Malcolm or LB?
• 13:25
Speaker 8: What's your preference? I've called you both, so I want
• 13:27
  Speaker 8: to know.
• 13:28
Speaker 6: What you like. I mean, I like LB.
• 13:31
  Speaker 5: That's whatever.
• 13:32
Speaker 8: Okay, that's kind of what I thought, but I wanted
• 13:34
Speaker 8: to make sure. So so LB, you know you're going
• 13:38
Speaker 8: to be going to North Dakota in this you know,
• 13:40
Speaker 8: new environment, you know, play to play basketball, hopefully to
• 13:44
Speaker 8: make it to the next to the next steps, next levels.
• 13:48
Speaker 8: What differences in training and and like the game nuances
• 13:52
Speaker 8: do you expect transitioning from like the high school level
• 13:56
Speaker 8: to the college level.
• 13:58
Speaker 7: I'm expecting everybody to just be competitive. Honestly, everybody's gonna
• 14:02
Speaker 7: be better. I'ma have to up my workouts is gonna
• 14:04
Speaker 7: have to be harder, tempos, more workouts today. I'm gonna
• 14:07
Speaker 7: have to not even just workouts, but the recovery part
• 14:11
Speaker 7: of that too. I'ma have to get better at that
• 14:13
Speaker 7: so I can be able to compete to my fullest
• 14:15
  Speaker 7: every time.
• 14:16
Speaker 4: And I'll tell you this just again from somebody who
• 14:19
Speaker 4: went from you know, playing here in the county and
• 14:23
Speaker 4: then I just went to State, And I think what
• 14:25
Speaker 4: you're gonna have to sort of think about and put
• 14:28
Speaker 4: it in perspective is that the level of athleticism is
• 14:32
Speaker 4: gonna jump. It's almost gonna be double triple. You're gonna
• 14:36
Speaker 4: see guys and you're gonna wonder, like, how are you
• 14:40
Speaker 4: what did you do to not be playing at a
• 14:43
Speaker 4: power for school at this point. So again, and that's
• 14:46
Speaker 4: kind of the part that nobody ever talks about. If
• 14:49
Speaker 4: you're going from high school and you're playing at a
• 14:51
Speaker 4: D two junior college, D one whatever, that athleticism is
• 14:56
Speaker 4: gonna go piping and everybody's gonna be an at fleet
• 15:00
  Speaker 4: throughout the board.
• 15:01
Speaker 6: And you know what I'm saying.
• 15:02
Speaker 4: And again, it may be a variety of skill sets,
• 15:05
Speaker 4: but you're gonna see some guys who are frequencily strong,
• 15:07
Speaker 4: frequency fast, and and that's the thing that I would
• 15:11
Speaker 4: warn you to get prepared for and start to train
• 15:14
Speaker 4: your body in mind to like start to think about conceptualize.
• 15:17
Speaker 6: And to and to that.
• 15:19
Speaker 4: And I think everybody who everybody who goes to college,
• 15:23
Speaker 4: and I don't even care if it's athletics. Everything is different.
• 15:27
Speaker 4: Everything is gonna be a little bit more challenging, but
• 15:32
Speaker 4: everything can be conquered right here.
• 15:35
Speaker 6: Everything, Everything can be conquered right there.
• 15:38
Speaker 4: And you know, because you're gonna what you're gonna do,
• 15:41
Speaker 4: You're gonna go, You're gonna come in and there's gonna
• 15:43
Speaker 4: be guys this tall, this, you know, doing these kinds
• 15:46
Speaker 4: of things. You will not know where you're gonna be
• 15:51
Speaker 4: in a year where your game is gonna be, because
• 15:56
Speaker 4: once that year passes and you and you put your
• 15:59
Speaker 4: game to that' to that space. That ain't even the
• 16:02
Speaker 4: guy that was in high school. You won't even you
• 16:06
Speaker 4: can't even remember him, because all of a sudden, once
• 16:11
Speaker 4: you've seen that guy like Hollis, you you've gone against
• 16:14
Speaker 4: him already. Now once you you know back here you're
• 16:17
Speaker 4: going against me. But now you're going against Hollis. And
• 16:20
Speaker 4: next thing you know, you you shooting at him, like
• 16:22
Speaker 4: you going at him now, like I need to get
• 16:24
Speaker 4: to him. Next thing you know, you done got him. Yeah,
• 16:28
Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. And and and that's when
• 16:32
Speaker 4: you get there, point out, Okay, I'm going after him.
• 16:38
Speaker 4: Yeah you I mean, cause you this is I don't
• 16:42
Speaker 4: want to say this is. I mean, it's like war.
• 16:45
Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying. You you you got to
• 16:47
Speaker 4: get in and you got to figure out. Okay, somebody's
• 16:50
Speaker 4: got somebody's playing point guard. I want to be the
• 16:53
Speaker 4: point guard. Okay, let me look see what he's doing. Okay,
• 16:57
Speaker 4: I can go after him, and I can go get him.
• 17:00
Speaker 4: I believe I can get him. And the work now
• 17:04
Speaker 4: all the focuses on him. All the work is to
• 17:07
Speaker 4: get to him. Once you get there, now you're running
• 17:11
Speaker 4: the squad. And again we won't mean to turn this
• 17:13
Speaker 4: probably to an advice show, but it really is one
• 17:17
Speaker 4: of them situations in which, like like you have to
• 17:21
Speaker 4: perception wise, you have to take yourself and your emotions
• 17:24
Speaker 4: out of one out of the thing, and you have
• 17:27
Speaker 4: to be able to look at it objectively. So you
• 17:30
Speaker 4: gotta say, if you if you running the B team
• 17:33
Speaker 4: or the C team, possibly depending on me to catch
• 17:35
Speaker 4: y'all got out there, and you're looking at that point guard,
• 17:38
Speaker 4: you gotta be objectively. It can't just be like I'm
• 17:40
Speaker 4: better than him, you know. You gotta objectively say, Okay,
• 17:42
Speaker 4: he got better handles to me. I gotta get my
• 17:44
Speaker 4: handles up. He got a better shot than me. I
• 17:46
Speaker 4: gotta get my shots up. He can run the offense
• 17:48
Speaker 4: better than me. I gotta get my I gotta do
• 17:50
Speaker 4: that part better. You have to be able to take
• 17:53
Speaker 4: your emotions out of it at the collegiate level, because
• 17:55
Speaker 4: this is where guys fail.
• 17:57
  Speaker 6: Guys are equally.
• 17:58
Speaker 4: Athletic, but they get a really emotional about what they
• 18:01
Speaker 4: should or should not be, and then they can't think
• 18:04
Speaker 4: past okay, this guy does this well, and this is
• 18:07
Speaker 4: what I have to get better at in order to
• 18:09
Speaker 4: compensate or do it better.
• 18:11
Speaker 6: So you have to.
• 18:12
Speaker 4: Really, that's the challenge of going to college because everybody's
• 18:16
Speaker 4: gonna be athletic, everybody's gonna be top tier. And when
• 18:19
Speaker 4: you at a juco, it's gunning because everybody trying to
• 18:22
Speaker 4: get to the next level. Everybody trying to be out
• 18:24
Speaker 4: of there forget. So I know some guys at the
• 18:26
Speaker 4: semester as soon as it's a semester gone, I'm trying
• 18:28
Speaker 4: to be out of there and go to you know,
• 18:30
Speaker 4: D one or high level D two. So that would
• 18:33
Speaker 4: be my advice. You take yourself out of it, look
• 18:35
Speaker 4: at everything objectively, and work like a dog.
• 18:38
Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying.
• 18:39
Speaker 5: Definitely gonna have to. Like I said, it's definitely gonna
• 18:41
  Speaker 5: be a grind.
• 18:42
  Speaker 6: Yeah, for sure.
• 18:43
Speaker 4: And I trust and I really trust that hearing you
• 18:46
Speaker 4: when you say that, I can I can feel that,
• 18:50
Speaker 4: and and even see watching you that you're you're ready
• 18:57
Speaker 4: to put in the work, you know what I'm saying,
• 18:59
Speaker 4: Like you like like, hey, don't worry about I'm gonna
• 19:02
  Speaker 4: put into work.
• 19:03
Speaker 6: Tell me something else because I'm going to put into work.
• 19:05
Speaker 4: And I can appreciate that, you know, because that is
• 19:09
Speaker 4: that is the that is the game.
• 19:11
  Speaker 6: I don't care. I don't care what the sport is.
• 19:14
Speaker 4: The work is the decision maker of who becomes the star,
• 19:19
Speaker 4: who becomes the starter, and who becomes the star.
• 19:24
Speaker 8: LB, don't listen to these guys. I mean, they're going
• 19:26
Speaker 8: to guide you down the wrong, wrong, wrong road. But
• 19:29
Speaker 8: I'm not joking. These two are great and they're giving
• 19:32
Speaker 8: you really great advice. But so, so we know you're
• 19:35
Speaker 8: going to the college in in north North Dakota. What
• 19:39
Speaker 8: do you expect to study during your time in school there?
• 19:43
Speaker 8: Are you just going to do general studies or do
• 19:45
Speaker 8: you have some goals in mind?
• 19:47
Speaker 5: I have other goals.
• 19:48
Speaker 7: I would like to study pre engineering probably wow, because
• 19:51
  Speaker 7: I'm a I'm a math person, so math is my
• 19:54
Speaker 7: strong suit. So I want to do some type of
• 19:55
Speaker 7: engineering and says this is a juco and I want
• 19:57
Speaker 7: to get to the next level.
• 19:58
  Speaker 6: I'm gonna just.
• 19:59
Speaker 7: Start with pre engineering here, get a little base, and
• 20:01
Speaker 7: then make it to the next level and then start
• 20:03
Speaker 7: like engineering classes like with civil and stuff like that.
• 20:06
Speaker 8: You know, being a former teacher, I love this so
• 20:09
Speaker 8: much so that that's awesome that you're also considering what
• 20:12
Speaker 8: academically you want to do at that level as well.
• 20:15
Speaker 8: Along with athletics. So good for you.
• 20:17
Speaker 4: You're way ahead of me, You're way ahead of where
• 20:21
  Speaker 4: I was.
• 20:22
  Speaker 8: Not a math.
• 20:23
Speaker 6: I was not a math guy.
• 20:24
Speaker 4: I wasn't and and and I am the prototype of
• 20:27
Speaker 4: what you don't want to be. I wanted sports and
• 20:32
Speaker 4: and and and academic peace. I'll just make my way
• 20:37
Speaker 4: through it. I'll just work my way through it. I
• 20:39
Speaker 4: just wanted to play ball. And you'll see those guys.
• 20:43
Speaker 4: You know, you'll see those guys. But don't leave. Don't
• 20:47
Speaker 4: don't leave the books. Whatever you do, do not leave
• 20:51
Speaker 4: the books. Because fortunately for me, I was blessed to
• 20:55
Speaker 4: get to where I got and.
• 20:57
Speaker 6: You know so, so my life was okay.
• 21:00
Speaker 4: But what if I hadn't, I had nothing to come
• 21:03
Speaker 4: back on. And so make sure that you protect yourself. Yes, okay,
• 21:09
Speaker 4: don't worry about the game. The game will take care
• 21:11
Speaker 4: of itself. You do all that you can do for
• 21:13
Speaker 4: the game, but protect yourself after the game, all right,
• 21:17
Speaker 4: make sure you do that always, yes, sir. Well again, man,
• 21:21
Speaker 4: I think this was you know again, just going back
• 21:23
Speaker 4: to the original part of the conversation. Just being able
• 21:25
Speaker 4: to play in the North South basketball and football is
• 21:29
Speaker 4: pretty historic. So, like I said, man and I think
• 21:34
Speaker 4: just that alone, being able to do both, and again,
• 21:37
Speaker 4: let's just talk about it before we go. Man, you
• 21:39
Speaker 4: had a pretty you know, historic career. You were only
• 21:42
Speaker 4: a South Charleston two years correct, yes, sir, yeah, So
• 21:45
Speaker 4: we end up you end up making All State in
• 21:47
Speaker 4: both football and basketball, you know, conference player of the
• 21:53
Speaker 4: Year All Kanall Valley first team football this past season,
• 21:57
Speaker 4: rushed for twelve hundred touchdowns, two hundred yards pass and
• 22:02
Speaker 4: one hundred and eighty receiving basketball, as Lisa articulated earlier,
• 22:06
Speaker 4: average twenty three point second team All State, First Team,
• 22:10
Speaker 4: Canaw Valley First Team All Conference. So again, on the
• 22:13
Speaker 4: back of a pretty historic career you ended in the
• 22:15
Speaker 4: state of West Virginia by playing off both all star games.
• 22:18
Speaker 4: Pretty historic man. Congratulations brother, and we wish you the
• 22:21
  Speaker 4: best of luck.
• 22:21
  Speaker 5: Thank you, sir.
• 22:22
  Speaker 8: Congratulations.
• 22:23
Speaker 4: All right, we'll be right back, ladies and gentlemen, just
• 22:26
  Speaker 4: a second.

• 23:45
Speaker 3: real experience, real results, Frank Walker Law dot com. Let
• 23:49
Speaker 3: that conversation begin on Let's talk.
• 23:53
Speaker 4: All right, ladies and gentlemen, we are back and holla,
• 23:55
Speaker 4: is you gonna take us somewhere? Yeah, this is a
• 23:57
Speaker 4: story that's been floating in the headlines for you know,
• 24:00
Speaker 4: about a week or two.
• 24:01
  Speaker 10: Now.
• 24:01
Speaker 4: We didn't get to touch it last week, but you
• 24:05
Speaker 4: know the current well, I guess former at this point.
• 24:07
Speaker 4: Brendan Sowerby. He is or was the Texas Tech quarterback.
• 24:12
Speaker 4: When he was a quarterback in Indiana as a freshman,
• 24:15
Speaker 4: he allegedly gambled around ninety thousand dollars on various college games,
• 24:21
Speaker 4: including college games he was technically playing in, but he
• 24:24
Speaker 4: wasn't like playing as the backup quarterback.
• 24:26
Speaker 6: He did playing the games.
• 24:28
Speaker 4: So he got found that, you know, they found that out,
• 24:30
Speaker 4: and he suspended. He transfers to Texas Tech. He foils
• 24:35
Speaker 4: a suit against the n CUBA. They get an injunction
• 24:39
Speaker 4: or the judge grants the injunction, so they technically would
• 24:43
Speaker 4: have allowed him to play this year. There's been an uproar.
• 24:45
Speaker 4: A lot of people were saying he shouldn't be allowed
• 24:48
Speaker 4: to play. Some are with him, some team saying they're
• 24:50
Speaker 4: going to boycott the game, blah blah blah blah blah.
• 24:53
Speaker 4: In essence, again, I want to say, he drops the
• 24:56
Speaker 4: suit or at least, you know, push the team and whatnot,
• 25:00
Speaker 4: and he enters the supplemental draft. So there's a couple
• 25:02
Speaker 4: of questions off of that. Now, I kind of just
• 25:06
Speaker 4: want to, you know, give a hypo scenario. Do you think,
• 25:11
Speaker 4: considering him gambling that if he stays at Texas, do
• 25:15
Speaker 4: you think it was right for him to be banned
• 25:17
Speaker 4: and suspended from the NCAA. Do you do you think
• 25:20
Speaker 4: that's something that they should have done?
• 25:22
Speaker 8: First of all, First of all, I want to counter
• 25:24
Speaker 8: that question with the question of where did he get
• 25:27
Speaker 8: ninety thousand dollars just to gamble? I know, but even
• 25:31
Speaker 8: in the world of nil, that's excessive, right, means a lot.
• 25:35
Speaker 4: But I guess that's over time, so it wasn't. Yeah,
• 25:38
Speaker 4: but it's over a short time, so that's one or
• 25:40
Speaker 4: two years, it's not a long time. So should he
• 25:43
Speaker 4: be should he have been suspended? If you know, if
• 25:46
Speaker 4: he stayed in college, should he be banned?
• 25:48
  Speaker 6: I guess.
• 25:49
Speaker 8: I mean historically that's what's happened to athletes in the past.
• 25:52
Speaker 8: But this is a whole new world. I mean, we're
• 25:54
Speaker 8: in you know, sports, sports is in bed with gambling.
• 25:58
Speaker 8: I mean you see it on ESPN. We've talked talked
• 26:00
Speaker 8: about this before on the podcast. It is part of
• 26:03
Speaker 8: our you know climate when it comes to any type
• 26:06
Speaker 8: of professional or amateur athletic events. So you know, you
• 26:12
Speaker 8: expose these these young men and women to to this,
• 26:16
Speaker 8: you know, on a daily basis, and then you expect
• 26:18
Speaker 8: them to ignore it and not participate in it. I mean,
• 26:21
  Speaker 8: I don't know. I mean I think I think we
• 26:23
Speaker 8: need to change our rules. I think that they need
• 26:25
Speaker 8: to be maybe if if you are, you know, gambling,
• 26:28
Speaker 8: as long as it's not on your sport, kind of
• 26:30
Speaker 8: like what they do with professionals. And I don't know,
• 26:34
Speaker 8: I don't pretend to know what he was gambling.
• 26:36
Speaker 6: On or what areas games?
• 26:38
Speaker 4: Just games and things in baseball, Yeah, games he was
• 26:43
  Speaker 4: Actually if.
• 26:44
Speaker 8: He's participating in them, then that's a whole different animal.
• 26:47
Speaker 6: I guess he wasn't. He was a backup quarterback, so
• 26:50
Speaker 6: he wasn't like play.
• 26:51
Speaker 8: I don't care. I mean, what if you got thrown
• 26:53
Speaker 8: into the game and he's, you know, got a bet
• 26:57
Speaker 8: on the game. I mean that could affect the whole team, right.
• 27:00
  Speaker 6: Technically, right, I mean I can't.
• 27:02
Speaker 4: Okay, I wanted to be last, Yeah, I mean I
• 27:08
Speaker 4: would say, I mean I would agree with your your
• 27:12
Speaker 4: your initial point, Lisa, that Number one Sports ESPN and
• 27:16
Speaker 4: all the different organizations from college to professionals, they've gotten
• 27:20
Speaker 4: so far entrenched with gambling that they're all one and
• 27:23
Speaker 4: the same. I mean to the point where now I
• 27:25
Speaker 4: remember back in the day, you would have like a
• 27:27
Speaker 4: trend deal for the Ron Georgskowski and they would be
• 27:30
Speaker 4: like like scientifically breaking down football and defenses and offense,
• 27:34
Speaker 4: and they give you like this, you know, sort of
• 27:36
  Speaker 4: coaching clinic.
• 27:38
Speaker 6: But now they don't have those guys.
• 27:40
Speaker 4: Now they got like the better, so they like it's
• 27:42
Speaker 4: it's one under I don't really know betting, right, And
• 27:46
Speaker 4: so that's my first point is that the organizations have
• 27:49
Speaker 4: gotten in bed and they're all making money off of
• 27:51
Speaker 4: each other. And then my second point, gambling is an addiction.
• 27:55
Speaker 4: It's no different than somebody being an alcoholic, no different
• 27:58
Speaker 4: than somebody being a drug at it, there's some parts
• 28:00
Speaker 4: of it where it's composive. And my last point is
• 28:02
Speaker 4: that we're starting these addictions when kids are ten, eleven, twelve,
• 28:08
Speaker 4: and then also feeding an addiction by giving them money
• 28:11
Speaker 4: to do it at a at a level that's that
• 28:14
Speaker 4: we've probably never seen before. So I would say I
• 28:18
Speaker 4: don't think he should have been banned. I think you
• 28:20
Speaker 4: get the treatment. Now again, if it's perpetual you just
• 28:22
Speaker 4: keep doing the same thing, then we gotta we gotta
• 28:25
Speaker 4: stop your right. But you know, I would say, you
• 28:28
Speaker 4: know he needs treatment and you know he should be
• 28:30
Speaker 4: allowed in my book. All right, So I'm I'm in
• 28:36
Speaker 4: the league and you're telling me, you know that I
• 28:43
  Speaker 4: can't do this, I can't do that. And if I
• 28:45
Speaker 4: do that, then I'm you know, the consequences are this
• 28:52
Speaker 4: What what kills me now is gambling is so much bigger.
• 28:58
Speaker 4: It's ten times bigger than it would have been back
• 29:01
Speaker 4: in my day, and.
• 29:04
Speaker 8: The consequences are way more severe, aren't that in your day?
• 29:07
Speaker 6: They want yes, compare to yes.
• 29:09
Speaker 4: That's the problem that I have with it is your
• 29:15
Speaker 4: babysitting that that person who you catch or that you
• 29:20
Speaker 4: know is doing something. Right, Like when you can say
• 29:24
Speaker 4: a person's name that's gambling when you see it in
• 29:28
Speaker 4: an article, you gotta be you got to be pretty
• 29:31
Speaker 4: active if you're that person, right.
• 29:34
Speaker 6: You got to be.
• 29:34
Speaker 4: You're gambling a whether it be a lot of money
• 29:37
Speaker 4: or frequent enough that people are talking about it.
• 29:39
  Speaker 10: Right.
• 29:42
Speaker 4: So if that's the case, where's the investigation of the
• 29:46
Speaker 4: NFL to find out if that's true. And let's say
• 29:49
Speaker 4: in the ninety percent of the time, I'm going to
• 29:51
Speaker 4: make the case that it's been true, right, I mean,
• 29:54
Speaker 4: I would say a large portion, large portion that they
• 29:59
Speaker 4: quote unquote they have found they have found that person
• 30:02
Speaker 4: to be guilty of gambling.
• 30:06
  Speaker 8: Different.
• 30:07
Speaker 4: But but you're not doing anything about it. You're not really,
• 30:12
Speaker 4: you're not really, you're not making you're not scaring me
• 30:15
  Speaker 4: as a as a person who's gambling. You're not scaring
• 30:18
Speaker 4: me from gambling for me to go gamble. Well, I
• 30:21
Speaker 4: think the NBA has suspended a bunch of guys and
• 30:24
Speaker 4: those things, and some of them got criminal charges. I
• 30:28
Speaker 4: mean if criminal charges that ain't got nothing.
• 30:30
Speaker 6: To do with them. Yeah, I see what you're saying.
• 30:32
Speaker 4: But I think the difference is now, like back in
• 30:35
Speaker 4: your day, gambling was it was it had a seed
• 30:38
Speaker 4: element to it. So I had a mob or gangster
• 30:41
Speaker 4: that were bookies, so it was a dangerous for you.
• 30:43
Speaker 4: You can get your kneecaps broke there back in the day,
• 30:46
Speaker 4: right back. But now they ain't the case. So it's
• 30:48
Speaker 4: like and again you throw it in a person's face
• 30:51
Speaker 4: so much and you got so much disposable income.
• 30:55
  Speaker 6: I agree.
• 30:56
Speaker 4: I mean that's just in your in you're seventeen eighteen. Yeah,
• 31:00
Speaker 4: ability to gain on ninety thousand dollars. I mean, but
• 31:03
Speaker 4: here's my here's my problem though, here's not so, So
• 31:06
Speaker 4: before you answer that should he should? He should he
• 31:08
Speaker 4: been banned from the the n C Double A for
• 31:10
Speaker 4: life or not. I don't think for life, but suspended,
• 31:15
Speaker 4: suspending something you got, you gotta you gotta do something,
• 31:20
Speaker 4: something that's gonna make me not do it, something that's
• 31:22
  Speaker 4: gonna make you.
• 31:24
Speaker 8: Need to set an example, the.
• 31:26
Speaker 4: Example when you're in bed with him. I don't understand.
• 31:29
Speaker 4: That's my that was, that was my confence. That was
• 31:32
Speaker 4: gonna be my conversation to you.
• 31:33
Speaker 8: And the other part of it. It's not illegal, I
• 31:36
Speaker 8: mean it's really not. It is gambling. I mean it's
• 31:40
Speaker 8: illegal for the n C Double A players, but for
• 31:43
Speaker 8: their regulations. Yeah, but I mean in the free world
• 31:46
  Speaker 8: you can gamble.
• 31:47
  Speaker 6: I don't even think it's illegal. I think it's policy.
• 31:49
Speaker 6: So you may, right.
• 31:51
Speaker 4: Because if you give me money as as as an
• 31:53
Speaker 4: organization and I go gamble it away, that's not illegal.
• 31:58
Speaker 4: Well what I'm saying, but you can't have gambled on
• 32:01
Speaker 4: something it's like insider trading. I can't gamble on something
• 32:04
  Speaker 4: that I'm participating.
• 32:05
Speaker 8: In, right, and that's what happened the prediction.
• 32:08
Speaker 4: Yeah, the prediction markets are a little different. But when
• 32:11
  Speaker 4: we're just talking about straight gambling, I can't. That's like
• 32:14
Speaker 4: inside of trading. I can't gamble on something that I
• 32:16
Speaker 4: can control the outcome. Sure, that's when we would start
• 32:19
Speaker 4: to get some charges here, and.
• 32:21
Speaker 8: So that's where we would need to know that the
• 32:24
Speaker 8: you know, yeah, the clarification of was he gambling on
• 32:27
Speaker 8: actually the games that TCU was participating in or you.
• 32:30
Speaker 4: Know, but he didn't but he didn't play in any
• 32:34
  Speaker 4: of those games.
• 32:35
Speaker 8: I still think that's again, especially if you're a backup quarterback,
• 32:40
Speaker 8: right he was, he could have potentially been thrown into
• 32:44
Speaker 8: a game with an injury.
• 32:45
Speaker 4: Okay, so let me ask a different question. So he
• 32:49
Speaker 4: drops the lawsuit, and again you remembered a Federal Supreme
• 32:54
Speaker 4: Court judge that was one of his points in granting
• 32:57
Speaker 4: the injunction for a loudest kid to play it to
• 33:00
  Speaker 4: take saying, hey, the n C double a, y'all in
• 33:02
Speaker 4: bed with his gambling too, So it's all bad.
• 33:04
  Speaker 6: Right.
• 33:05
Speaker 4: So anyway, I believe he drops the suit, so he
• 33:08
Speaker 4: enters the NFL supplemental Draft. Should the NFL was because
• 33:14
Speaker 4: it's predicted he'll get drafted, So should the NFL suspend
• 33:19
Speaker 4: him once he gets drafted? Should they suspend it like
• 33:21
Speaker 4: a couple of games or whatever. I would think it
• 33:24
Speaker 4: would be the perfect example, but I know that they won't.
• 33:26
Speaker 8: I'm just saying that it doesn't happen at the NFL level.
• 33:30
Speaker 8: What happened at the collegiate level. But he's paying wands
• 33:34
Speaker 8: at that level. He shouldn't have to pay for him again.
• 33:36
Speaker 6: But it's happened before.
• 33:38
Speaker 4: I want to say, Marcus Russell or Cam New somebody's
• 33:40
Speaker 4: got suspended coming one of it from college, coming from
• 33:44
Speaker 4: college to the NFL. One of them cats that got suspended.
• 33:47
Speaker 4: If you come, if you're coming on my team, okay,
• 33:50
Speaker 4: If you're coming as as a as a freshman or
• 33:52
Speaker 4: a rookie on my team, okay, And you got a
• 33:56
Speaker 4: history of gambling on your team.
• 33:58
Speaker 8: But if you've already paid for the concert, I don't care.
• 34:00
  Speaker 6: I don't care about the consequences about that. I don't
• 34:02
Speaker 6: care about the consequence.
• 34:03
Speaker 8: You don't better when you come when you you've already
• 34:07
Speaker 8: paid your Yeah, you've already paid for your your your
• 34:12
Speaker 8: punishments at the n C double A level, and now
• 34:14
Speaker 8: you're going to pay for him again. Technically he didn't well,
• 34:17
Speaker 8: but he got the bad publicity. So I mean in
• 34:19
  Speaker 8: a way that that's that's enough.
• 34:21
Speaker 4: And I heard and I read his publicity, okay, and
• 34:24
  Speaker 4: I don't like it.
• 34:25
Speaker 6: I don't like him coming. So do you suspend him?
• 34:29
Speaker 4: Do you do something like if you if you're if
• 34:31
Speaker 4: you're coaching Minnesota by or forget that, your administrator at
• 34:35
Speaker 4: Minnesota Bay, you like the kid, You're gonna bring him
• 34:37
Speaker 4: in in light of all this, do you say, Okay,
• 34:40
Speaker 4: we're gonna bring you in. We're gonna we like you,
• 34:41
Speaker 4: but we got to suspend you a couple of games. Okay,
• 34:43
Speaker 4: I'm too old because I'm not bringing you.
• 34:45
Speaker 6: I'm just saying you.
• 34:46
Speaker 4: Did if you didn't have any control, if you didn't
• 34:49
Speaker 4: have controls the draft, but you have control over there, Okay,
• 34:55
Speaker 4: do you suspend them?
• 34:56
Speaker 11: Especially you're talking about was for a much lesser thing
• 34:59
Speaker 11: than that. It was Terrell prior. It was an involving
• 35:04
Speaker 11: a scandal of the Ohio State. It included selling memorabilia
• 35:08
Speaker 11: for yes, yes, nothing gambling, just selling memorabilia.
• 35:12
Speaker 8: Yes, it's like nil stuff. Now that's what you do legally.
• 35:15
Speaker 4: I well, that don't bother me, right, No, No, but it
• 35:18
Speaker 4: was illegal at the time. Was a big huge deal
• 35:21
Speaker 4: he did that. He left Ohio State, he gets drafted
• 35:24
Speaker 4: by I want to say Cleveland or the Raiders, and
• 35:26
Speaker 4: then they suspend him based off what he did in college.
• 35:29
Speaker 4: So what I'm saying is like, if you if he's
• 35:31
Speaker 4: on your team, you charge a play personnel whatever. You
• 35:34
Speaker 4: didn't draft him, but he's on your team and you
• 35:36
Speaker 4: have control whether you suspend him. Do you suspend him
• 35:38
Speaker 4: or do you just like that happening? We ain't worried
• 35:40
Speaker 4: about that. I'm going to suspend him because I'm going
• 35:43
Speaker 4: to just show that he's aware of what we're not
• 35:46
Speaker 4: going to do, what we can't do here, what we're
• 35:48
Speaker 4: not You like that, I.
• 35:50
Speaker 8: Don't like it at all.
• 35:52
Speaker 4: I wouldn't expect you all to. I would make him.
• 35:55
Speaker 4: I would make him go to treatment. So if that
• 35:58
Speaker 4: would be my request, I mean, like, if we drafted,
• 36:01
Speaker 4: you're gonna go to the treatment, but you're gonna stay
• 36:04
Speaker 4: in treatment for an extended period of time. Okay, So
• 36:07
Speaker 4: I'm going to treatment. I'm went you, I could have
• 36:10
Speaker 4: said treatment. I wanted him to get treatment. What I'm but,
• 36:13
Speaker 4: but he's not playing until he gets treatment. And we're okay,
• 36:20
Speaker 4: he's not playing that he's not he's not playing for me.
• 36:23
  Speaker 6: But but I, but I, but I just don't understand.
• 36:25
Speaker 4: Okay, So if he's the kid, then you saying, okay,
• 36:28
Speaker 4: we're getting we get we got fan duel on our jerseys.
• 36:34
  Speaker 8: Exactly, that's right.
• 36:36
Speaker 6: I'm not the person who's gonna do that.
• 36:38
Speaker 4: But I know that what I'm saying, the organization, you
• 36:41
Speaker 4: don't have control of that. If I don't have control
• 36:44
Speaker 4: of what I wear, Okay, if I don't have control
• 36:46
  Speaker 4: of what I wear, which to me, that's a that's
• 36:50
Speaker 4: a Again, that's the league asking asking for money, getting
• 36:56
Speaker 4: it representing something that you don't want your players to do.
• 37:00
Speaker 4: How do you justify that it makes no sense when
• 37:03
  Speaker 4: it's so easy.
• 37:04
  Speaker 6: I don't understand.
• 37:06
Speaker 8: I mean, we've said that it's time and time on here,
• 37:09
Speaker 8: it's it's it's all about money. And and the players,
• 37:12
Speaker 8: you know, they're young, they're impressionable, you know, like I said,
• 37:15
Speaker 8: it's in their face that they see it all the time.
• 37:18
  Speaker 8: And it's it's very tempting. It's it's an easy way
• 37:20
Speaker 8: to you know, play some and you know, it's it's
• 37:23
Speaker 8: kind of like a you know, probably an adrenaline rush
• 37:26
Speaker 8: for these guys. But and they like that. You know,
• 37:28
Speaker 8: they're athletes or college athletes, so you know, it's kind
• 37:31
Speaker 8: of fun to tempt fate and kind of walk the
• 37:33
  Speaker 8: line of legalities. I mean, I don't know. I just
• 37:36
Speaker 8: think they got a lot around to deal with.
• 37:41
Speaker 4: When you were playing, it was like it was it
• 37:44
Speaker 4: was the parlay cards. So my thing was like parlay cards,
• 37:47
Speaker 4: and you would like they would bet like on It
• 37:49
Speaker 4: wasn't every game they can write on. It was like
• 37:51
Speaker 4: just the specific like kind of the higher end, bigger game.
• 37:55
Speaker 4: So but I listened to this like podcast or something,
• 37:59
Speaker 4: and you and it was in the gambling attic. He
• 38:01
Speaker 4: was like articulating like what his day was like. This
• 38:04
Speaker 4: dude would be like not only gambling on here in
• 38:07
Speaker 4: American sports and all our major sports, he would be
• 38:09
Speaker 4: gambling like on women's basketball in Turkey and like ping
• 38:13
Speaker 4: pong like overseas. So he'd be up in the middle
• 38:15
Speaker 4: of the night on his computer like watching all these games.
• 38:18
Speaker 4: He would literally be gambling twenty four hours a day
• 38:21
Speaker 4: on something considering the sports. So I just think, like
• 38:24
Speaker 4: I said, in light of how accessible it is, because
• 38:27
Speaker 4: back in the day, in the eighties and the seventies,
• 38:30
Speaker 4: you just couldn't go to your your local.
• 38:33
Speaker 6: You had to know somebody that knows somebody.
• 38:35
Speaker 8: You couldn't pick up a self and gamble. I mean,
• 38:38
Speaker 8: that's it right there.
• 38:39
Speaker 4: You had to know like that, you know, you know,
• 38:41
Speaker 4: you had to be entrenched a little bit in the
• 38:43
Speaker 4: underworld to kind of make those bets, and it was
• 38:45
Speaker 4: a lot more dangerous. So I understood the severity of
• 38:47
Speaker 4: why they wouldn't want their dudes doing that because it
• 38:50
Speaker 4: could just affect if you can get killed, right, But
• 38:53
Speaker 4: now that's not the case, and I think we have
• 38:54
Speaker 4: to I don't know, we just who's got to make
• 38:57
Speaker 4: a decision about what we want.
• 38:59
Speaker 6: I mean, because at the end of.
• 39:00
Speaker 4: The day, this, this is somebody's fault of putting gambling
• 39:07
Speaker 4: in sports as as easy with such an easy access
• 39:11
Speaker 4: to the key, and you want and you don't want
• 39:16
Speaker 4: your players to gamble, but you're you're making it so
• 39:19
Speaker 4: easy to do it.
• 39:22
  Speaker 6: Why wouldn't I do?
• 39:23
  Speaker 4: I mean, I'm sure there's a lot. There was probably
• 39:25
Speaker 4: a line on the North South game, you know what
• 39:27
Speaker 4: I mean. I'm sure like somebody had like a line
• 39:30
  Speaker 4: on that.
• 39:30
Speaker 6: You can probably doubt it, you know what I mean.
• 39:33
  Speaker 6: It's just it's and.
• 39:35
Speaker 4: It brings up the point as far as like, you know,
• 39:38
Speaker 4: I think there's integrity of the game issues because you know,
• 39:43
Speaker 4: you're inevitably going to have somebody that's I mean, you
• 39:45
Speaker 4: probably already do have somebody that's like betting on the
• 39:48
Speaker 4: game that they're participating actually playing in. So I just
• 39:52
Speaker 4: I think we're gonna we're gonna see problems like this
• 39:56
Speaker 4: probably continue until we like make a decision about what
• 39:59
Speaker 4: we're gonna do. Can you can you see yourself betting
• 40:02
  Speaker 4: on a team.
• 40:04
  Speaker 6: That you're playing. I can't, cause I'm just not a gambler.
• 40:08
  Speaker 8: I don't.
• 40:09
  Speaker 6: I don't like the game.
• 40:10
Speaker 4: It's like gambling and like a roller coasters that don't
• 40:14
Speaker 4: nothing like it. Just don't. I'm telling you, Like, it's
• 40:20
Speaker 4: just like it's like why do you want to do that? Like,
• 40:23
Speaker 4: I don't want to be scared.
• 40:24
Speaker 8: I can't even imagine being in those those shoes and
• 40:27
Speaker 8: in the opportunity ahead of you of playing at the
• 40:30
Speaker 8: professional level and risking it all for gambling. Like you know,
• 40:34
Speaker 8: I mean not only the money that that you're giving up,
• 40:38
Speaker 8: possibly by getting caught doing these risky types of bets,
• 40:43
Speaker 8: but just the prestige. It just it just kind of
• 40:46
Speaker 8: tarnishes your name and your I don't think it ever
• 40:49
Speaker 8: goes career, It doesn't go away. But see I would should, but.
• 40:53
Speaker 4: I would disagree with that because I don't think their peers.
• 40:56
Speaker 4: I think their peers understand that. I think their peers
• 40:59
Speaker 4: under like Piers probably understand kind of what he was thinking.
• 41:03
Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying.
• 41:04
Speaker 8: Not the older generation like Carl.
• 41:06
  Speaker 4: L I, but but I think people probably, But I
• 41:12
Speaker 4: think people of his age group and close to that,
• 41:14
Speaker 4: I think they they get it where we just don't
• 41:17
Speaker 4: because we didn't grow up with like everything is gambling.
• 41:19
Speaker 4: I mean, you know, it's it's so bad, Like I said,
• 41:22
Speaker 4: it's so bad where you can just literally just do
• 41:25
Speaker 4: it all day long. So you're gonna get them dopamine hits,
• 41:28
Speaker 4: because this dopamine hits whether you're casting the bet or
• 41:32
Speaker 4: winning from the bet. Yeah, you know what I'm saying,
• 41:34
Speaker 4: it's even a dopamine hit, Like if you're losing and
• 41:36
Speaker 4: you have the you're trying to think of a way
• 41:39
Speaker 4: to like get the money back, you know what I mean.
• 41:41
Speaker 4: So it's all this dopamine constantly going off. That's why
• 41:43
Speaker 4: I said, like it's an addiction issue, and we're basically
• 41:47
Speaker 4: pretty much just you know. It's like I think we're
• 41:50
Speaker 4: gonna look back, maybe in twenty years and look at this,
• 41:52
Speaker 4: like like the Cammel cigarette person, remember that back in
• 41:56
Speaker 4: the day, you said, remember the Campbell what was the name?
• 41:59
  Speaker 6: Cool Joe?
• 42:00
Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, Like they literally they literally
• 42:03
Speaker 4: used to have a joke. They really used to have
• 42:07
Speaker 4: a can a cartoon making newports look cool.
• 42:12
Speaker 6: Literally, think about how we grew up.
• 42:15
Speaker 8: But okay, yeah we had candy cigarettes.
• 42:19
Speaker 6: I mean, you know what I mean.
• 42:22
Speaker 4: Smoking was cool, but but it was it was something
• 42:25
Speaker 4: that you knew not to do. You had a whole
• 42:29
Speaker 4: generation of smokers. My mom, my mom used to smoke.
• 42:31
Speaker 4: My dad was a smoker. And how many your brothers
• 42:35
Speaker 4: and sisters smoker? None?
• 42:37
  Speaker 6: None?
• 42:38
  Speaker 3: Not one?
• 42:40
Speaker 6: Did you did they smoke in the house?
• 42:42
Speaker 8: Didn't Snoopy take over the Joe cool type of nickname though,
• 42:46
Speaker 8: Snoopy the dog? Why do I want to think that
• 42:49
Speaker 8: I don't know the reason they tried to clean it
• 42:51
Speaker 8: up a little bit. I don't know, not cigarette related.
• 42:54
Speaker 8: I'm just saying in general.
• 42:56
Speaker 4: The reason why we didn't smoke one, we didn't like it.
• 42:59
Speaker 4: And if we would have, if Mom or Dad would
• 43:04
Speaker 4: have caught us smoking anywhere anything, you you'd likely to
• 43:09
  Speaker 4: get killed.
• 43:10
  Speaker 6: In that house.
• 43:11
Speaker 4: Yeah, but I mean it's like, you know, but that's
• 43:13
Speaker 4: one side of another side of how in the world.
• 43:15
Speaker 8: Did we get on this subject. Okay, we're moving on
• 43:18
Speaker 8: to soccer. We have a little bit of time. Let's
• 43:20
Speaker 8: talk about soccer. So anybody watched World Cup? Anybody listen? Okay,
• 43:26
Speaker 8: you watched more than me. I'm gonna be on because
• 43:28
  Speaker 8: I haven't watched it.
• 43:29
Speaker 4: I should have, And I'm telling you I watched it
• 43:36
Speaker 4: for probably about an hour or so. And I'm telling you,
• 43:40
Speaker 4: I was so amazed.
• 43:43
  Speaker 8: Oh the endurance.
• 43:45
Speaker 4: The endurance, the footwork, the body movements and head adjustments
• 43:52
Speaker 4: to hit the ball. It gave me a whole another
• 43:59
Speaker 4: thought process as about it. I always respected it, but
• 44:06
Speaker 4: like that was like the best of the best, and
• 44:10
Speaker 4: my goodness, it was. It was unbelievable and I and
• 44:14
Speaker 4: I and I wonder, you know, some of those guys
• 44:19
Speaker 4: like the footwork part of it. I don't know if
• 44:22
Speaker 4: they could stand the physicality of it maybe, but the
• 44:25
Speaker 4: footwork and the and the endurance talent is unbelievable to me. Yeah,
• 44:32
Speaker 4: Like if you go to like a higher level soccer
• 44:35
Speaker 4: you know, like I said, I watched a little bit
• 44:37
Speaker 4: of it, but like even going to like watching you
• 44:39
Speaker 4: see which is like a premier you know, college program,
• 44:42
  Speaker 4: and you actually.
• 44:43
Speaker 6: Get to see it, It's pretty amazing.
• 44:46
Speaker 4: The way anything and the thing is soccer to me
• 44:49
Speaker 4: is like if you have the right angle, so if
• 44:52
Speaker 4: I can see it from I like kind of the
• 44:53
Speaker 4: way they shoot it on TV where I can see
• 44:55
  Speaker 4: from the bird's eye view because it's it's it's just
• 44:57
Speaker 4: basketball kind of with your feet. If you kind to
• 45:00
Speaker 4: conceptualize it that way, it's really really a good game.
• 45:04
Speaker 4: And I think that, you know, if I said it before,
• 45:06
Speaker 4: I think, you know, as much as we think we
• 45:08
Speaker 4: a football state, I think we are moving closer and
• 45:12
Speaker 4: closer towards a soccer state in West Virginia.
• 45:14
Speaker 8: That was going to be my next question I'm going
• 45:16
Speaker 8: to ask you guys about but why do you think
• 45:19
Speaker 8: it is Internationally? Soccer is more popular than American football.
• 45:23
Speaker 8: I mean, what what globally this is the sport.
• 45:26
Speaker 6: This is cheap yeah, cheap balling in there, you know.
• 45:31
Speaker 4: And the shirt because I always get amazed when people say, oh,
• 45:33
Speaker 4: let's just start your own football. Do you know how
• 45:36
Speaker 4: much it costs to outfit one football.
• 45:38
  Speaker 8: Player, right, it's a couple.
• 45:40
Speaker 6: Of thousand dollars. Yeah.
• 45:42
Speaker 4: And when football, like I said, not only is it
• 45:45
Speaker 4: super expensive to like just like just to provide the outfit, equipment,
• 45:49
Speaker 4: all that other stuff football you need about par you
• 45:53
Speaker 4: need about ten coaches just just to be like, just
• 45:57
Speaker 4: to make sure all your bases are covering, you need
• 45:59
Speaker 4: about at least I would say ten coaches. So I
• 46:02
Speaker 4: think soccer is just more accessible. It's cheaper, and it's
• 46:06
Speaker 4: just sort of easier to get started. And like I said,
• 46:08
Speaker 4: I think the environment, you know, the way they have
• 46:12
Speaker 4: the like I love the soccer system because you can
• 46:15
Speaker 4: have like this little rinky dink basically imagine imagine the
• 46:19
Speaker 4: Dirty Birds having an opportunity to play in the Major League,
• 46:24
Speaker 4: like you could move up like so if you so yeah,
• 46:28
Speaker 4: so if you like if European soccer, so if you win,
• 46:30
Speaker 4: like if the Dirty Birds way like win the division,
• 46:32
Speaker 4: they can move up to the next division. They win
• 46:34
Speaker 4: that or do good, they can move up and up
• 46:36
Speaker 4: it and they would literally have a chance to West Charles,
• 46:39
Speaker 4: WESTGI can have a major League baseball team if we
• 46:42
Speaker 4: had the same system as soccer. So I think that
• 46:45
Speaker 4: to me far as what makes it popular because you
• 46:48
Speaker 4: could take your little town it's like it's little towns.
• 46:50
Speaker 8: In like they can play it almost anywhere.
• 46:53
Speaker 4: You play it anywhere, and your club could literally go
• 46:55
Speaker 4: from just this as RinkyDink rec league to you know,
• 46:59
Speaker 4: playing like their premier leagues and different things of that nature.
• 47:03
  Speaker 6: I didn't know.
• 47:04
Speaker 4: I didn't know any of that part of it, but man,
• 47:08
Speaker 4: I was just watching it and you know, and then
• 47:10
Speaker 4: and the replays where they are showing, you know, the
• 47:13
  Speaker 4: footwork and.
• 47:14
Speaker 6: All that kind of stuff.
• 47:15
  Speaker 4: Man, that is like and I'm a I'm a crazy,
• 47:18
Speaker 4: I'm a nut over you know, footwork and just how
• 47:22
Speaker 4: they are able to manage Like how do you position
• 47:27
Speaker 4: your body when the balls coming in at you at
• 47:29
Speaker 4: an angle? And are you going to position your body
• 47:31
Speaker 4: to where your head is going to hit it and
• 47:34
Speaker 4: it's going to hit.
• 47:34
  Speaker 6: It too hollow?
• 47:35
Speaker 4: Yeah, Like how how does that work, Like how long
• 47:40
Speaker 4: does it take to become a profession a true professional?
• 47:45
Speaker 8: You have to tie your hands behind your back, that's
• 47:47
Speaker 8: for sure. That's probably the first set is that your
• 47:52
Speaker 8: automatic like that's an automatic reflex is to use your hands. Yeah,
• 47:56
Speaker 8: I'm all that to me, that's amazing that they can
• 47:59
  Speaker 8: do that.
• 48:00
Speaker 4: In addition to that, like I said, not only they
• 48:02
Speaker 4: have that sort of system where you can kind of
• 48:04
Speaker 4: move up and down, but they also you know, you
• 48:06
Speaker 4: look FIFA World Cup, you have you know, obviously the Olympics,
• 48:11
Speaker 4: so you have all these like international contests too. So
• 48:13
  Speaker 4: I think it's just like I said, I think it's
• 48:16
Speaker 4: one of them games that football better be very very
• 48:19
Speaker 4: conscious because I think after a while America, you're going
• 48:23
Speaker 4: to have your very best of your best athlete, remember
• 48:25
Speaker 4: your best. Like a Dave Winfield, he got drafted in
• 48:28
Speaker 4: all three sports at the major at the professional level.
• 48:30
Speaker 4: He plays baseball. A guy like Lebron is gonna play basketball.
• 48:33
Speaker 4: Now we have obviously like Adona played football. I think
• 48:36
  Speaker 4: you're going to.
• 48:37
Speaker 6: Have that type of guy and that guy's gonna play soccer.
• 48:40
Speaker 8: Do you guys know what FIFA stands for? Do you
• 48:42
  Speaker 8: know the acronym.
• 48:44
  Speaker 6: I'm Internet.
• 48:45
Speaker 8: I had to look it up because I wanted to know,
• 48:47
Speaker 8: So I'm going to do it in my best French
• 48:49
Speaker 8: accent because it is a French acronym Federation internationale dave
• 48:55
  Speaker 8: football Association.
• 48:56
  Speaker 6: Sweet yeah, but.
• 48:58
Speaker 8: In English it means international a old federation of association football.
• 49:04
Speaker 6: I think the French one is probably good.
• 49:06
Speaker 8: Probably just the way I spoke, that's what it is.
• 49:11
Speaker 4: But I do all right, the question for both of you,
• 49:16
Speaker 4: and you can elaborate, but we only got a few
• 49:18
  Speaker 4: more minutes left.
• 49:19
Speaker 6: But can you see.
• 49:24
Speaker 10: In in the future, I won't even say the near
• 49:26
Speaker 10: future soccer becoming the primary sport, whether it be high school,
• 49:34
Speaker 10: whether it be college. I don't think it will ever
• 49:36
Speaker 10: take over the NFL or anything like that, but I'm
• 49:39
Speaker 10: but I'm thinking everywhere down.
• 49:41
Speaker 6: I think the struggle is going to.
• 49:43
Speaker 8: Be you can't have an NFL if you don't have
• 49:45
  Speaker 8: the whole.
• 49:46
Speaker 4: I understand foundation, I understand that, all all the structure
• 49:51
Speaker 4: that's got to get there, but that doesn't make that
• 49:53
  Speaker 4: doesn't stop.
• 49:54
Speaker 6: You from being a bigger sport than high school.
• 49:58
Speaker 4: Like high cool football is high school football versus high
• 50:03
Speaker 4: school soccer, which one wins that I would say.
• 50:08
Speaker 6: I would say I just my opinion.
• 50:12
Speaker 4: I think regionally, it's gonna be a region that pops
• 50:16
Speaker 4: up where soccer is gonna be the thing to do.
• 50:19
Speaker 4: Like I don't think ever in the South, football is
• 50:21
Speaker 4: gonna always be king in. In the Northeast, basketball or
• 50:26
Speaker 4: at least it was, basketball is always gonna be that.
• 50:28
Speaker 4: But I think there's gonna be regions in the country,
• 50:31
Speaker 4: or maybe not in regions, but spots in the country
• 50:33
Speaker 4: where soccer is gonna be.
• 50:36
  Speaker 6: Premier.
• 50:37
  Speaker 4: And you don't think that's gonna happen here. I don't
• 50:40
Speaker 4: think it's here because I think we're still like far
• 50:41
Speaker 4: as we're still South. Football is so like I think
• 50:45
Speaker 4: the thing they've always said about football, it's just so
• 50:48
Speaker 4: community right because not only do you just have the
• 50:51
Speaker 4: football team, but you got cheerleaders, you got the band,
• 50:53
Speaker 4: you got the major ed, you got.
• 50:55
  Speaker 6: The comor guard.
• 50:56
Speaker 4: It's so it really involves the whole community when you
• 51:00
Speaker 4: go to like a football game. So I don't think
• 51:03
Speaker 4: any sport has that part of it down. And if
• 51:06
Speaker 4: you got to give football team, the town is shutting down.
• 51:10
Speaker 4: So I don't think soccer will be able to like, yes,
• 51:12
Speaker 4: you do have that.
• 51:13
Speaker 6: Football team, I agree with you.
• 51:16
Speaker 4: If you don't and you've got soccer, I think you
• 51:20
  Speaker 4: got a problem.
• 51:21
  Speaker 6: And that's what I'm saying.
• 51:22
Speaker 4: If you like to me, it would depend Again, I
• 51:24
Speaker 4: think it's gonna be regional and it's gonna be in spots.
• 51:27
Speaker 4: So it's going to depend on the athlete. Imagine like
• 51:29
  Speaker 4: a Randy Moss saying, well, I ain't playing football, I'm
• 51:32
Speaker 4: gonna play soccer. If you got a Randy Moss, they're
• 51:35
Speaker 4: saying I'm a soccer player, that's when you're gonna have problem.
• 51:39
Speaker 6: That's what football is gonna happen.
• 51:41
Speaker 8: And for me, I don't think the media will ever
• 51:43
Speaker 8: let that happen as well. You know, I don't know,
• 51:46
Speaker 8: because I mean you think about it. Do you think
• 51:47
Speaker 8: how exciting would be Friday night lights or even college
• 51:51
Speaker 8: game day at a soccer game.
• 51:53
Speaker 4: If you have a Randy Moss lebron it's the star that.
• 51:59
Speaker 8: You you got the mascot. I mean, maybe they could
• 52:03
Speaker 8: add those elements more exciting, but I just don't see.
• 52:08
Speaker 6: You know, see, here's my thing to it.
• 52:10
Speaker 4: And I don't mean to cut you off that no, No,
• 52:13
Speaker 4: you bring up the Pergnant point your point is the
• 52:15
Speaker 4: pergeint point. The thing that America has to figure out.
• 52:19
Speaker 4: America has to put American touches on soccer. So you
• 52:23
Speaker 4: can't have like FC f C Charles westro Gian What what's.
• 52:28
  Speaker 6: F C Charles? You know what I'm saying, you can't
• 52:30
  Speaker 6: have that.
• 52:31
Speaker 4: So I think the thing that we're gonna not only
• 52:33
Speaker 4: do you if you have the Star, because I think
• 52:35
Speaker 4: if you have the Star, that alone kind of curves it.
• 52:38
Speaker 4: But once we actually figure out we're gonna put our
• 52:40
Speaker 4: American touches on this thing, and it's going to be
• 52:43
Speaker 4: like it's going to be American. We're going to have
• 52:46
  Speaker 4: the major s, we're gonna have you know, I don't
• 52:48
Speaker 4: know who, cheerleaders or whatever. Once we figured that part out,
• 52:52
Speaker 4: then I think that's when you're gonna see it. Because
• 52:55
Speaker 4: I would say the same thing we saw the New
• 52:56
Speaker 4: York Nick. Everybody was rooting on Knicks. That's an American state,
• 53:00
Speaker 4: our basketball team that just won the NBA Championship, and
• 53:03
Speaker 4: that's why even non New York fans were excited. So
• 53:05
Speaker 4: I think to your point, Lisa, now if we figure
• 53:08
Speaker 4: that part out, that's when we're doomed. Fotball yeah, I
• 53:14
Speaker 4: really think soccer is a huge challenge. I'm telling you
• 53:18
Speaker 4: for football, even for the athlete who's really good, I
• 53:22
Speaker 4: think he he may slide over to soccer and leave football.
• 53:26
Speaker 8: The money that these investors and and you know, these
• 53:30
Speaker 8: these these managers and owners of NFL teams have invested
• 53:34
Speaker 8: in these you know in the league. They will not
• 53:37
Speaker 8: let that go easily or quietly.
• 53:39
Speaker 4: But but do you think they would have the capacity
• 53:42
Speaker 4: to think ahead or do you think they're sitting back
• 53:44
Speaker 4: on their loyer saying, while we're king, we don't have
• 53:46
Speaker 4: to worry about it, or you think they're saying like, okay,
• 53:49
Speaker 4: let's just figure out how this doesn't happen.
• 53:52
Speaker 6: Because I'm telling you, when.
• 53:53
Speaker 4: You got round, if you got Randy Moss playing riverside
• 53:56
Speaker 4: soccer and he's scoring ten goals a game, somebody, I'm
• 54:01
Speaker 4: I'm going to check it.
• 54:02
Speaker 8: Out, kind of like Messa, right, yeah, ran mocing that.
• 54:05
Speaker 4: Yeah, let's go check out the soccer guy. Or even
• 54:09
Speaker 4: if it's not a Randy Moss, it's somebody else. And
• 54:11
Speaker 4: you you you kind of are interested in soccer. I
• 54:13
  Speaker 4: don't know if there's a star there and that you're
• 54:16
Speaker 4: gonna go see that once you see it?
• 54:19
Speaker 6: Now, what are you doing? You going back?
• 54:21
Speaker 8: Do you think it's going to be in my lifetime?
• 54:23
  Speaker 8: Put it that way? I think I think it's a
• 54:24
  Speaker 8: I don't know.
• 54:25
  Speaker 4: I don't.
• 54:26
  Speaker 8: I don't imagine that. I don't. I mean, as popular
• 54:29
Speaker 8: as the NFL is in collegiate football, spending those saturdays,
• 54:32
Speaker 8: people love Saturday, you know, fall Saturdays, going to the
• 54:36
Speaker 8: traditional college games and watching them on TV. I agree
• 54:40
Speaker 8: that's gonna be hard to overcome.
• 54:42
Speaker 4: But do you think you would have saw w v
• 54:44
Speaker 4: U Marshall? You see State all men and women soccer
• 54:50
  Speaker 4: all competing nationally.
• 54:52
Speaker 8: I mean that was awesome.
• 54:53
Speaker 6: Yeah, So I'm just saying we wouldn't have thought that. Yeah, right,
• 54:58
  Speaker 6: So I don't know. I think it's coming.
• 55:00
Speaker 8: Time will tell, right, You just you're just mad because
• 55:02
Speaker 8: I'm not speaking French anymore French accent. I'm gonna work
• 55:07
  Speaker 8: on that.
• 55:07
Speaker 6: Yeah, please do that.
• 55:09
Speaker 4: Okay, all right, ladies and gentlemen, we are out of
• 55:14
Speaker 4: here and we'll see you again next week.
