A federal court rejected the Justice Department’s attempt to force Vermont to surrender its complete, unredacted voter-registration database. The requested records included names, birth dates, home addresses, driver’s-license numbers, and partial Social Security numbers. Vermont Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas refused. The court’s ruling left that refusal intact.
