- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? No Claire.
- 0:11It's the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
- 0:12Making their annual obscene phone call.
- 0:15Welcome to, what's your least favorite scary movie, the
- 0:18podcast, where we talked about the good, the bad, the ugly, and
- 0:21the downright absurd in all of our favorite and least favorite
- 0:24scary movie. Is because we believe every
- 0:26horror movie rightfully, has its fanbase, even if we don't always
- 0:29get It it my name is Travis. My name is Jessie and today we
- 0:34are talking about Black Christmas.
- 0:37Yeah, I was really expecting some kind of like Agnes type
- 0:42wine to open this thing up. Oh you're the one that's
- 0:44obsessed with Agnes is see? Yeah, I'm going to say that a
- 0:48lot during this episode. I don't know why you would
- 0:50assume I wouldn't go with a barbed line.
- 0:54It's good not saying it's bad. I liked it was a surprise it's
- 0:58just not what I was expecting. This movie has some.
- 1:02I don't know if I would say quotable lines, but I will say,
- 1:06it's got some good dialogue. All right.
- 1:09Yeah. We're talking about by a black
- 1:10Christmas. So, it's a Christmas episode in
- 1:121974. A rich.
- 1:14Yeah. 96. Yeah, we're not doing the
- 1:16Remake. We did like Xmas last year, so
- 1:20we're kind of like, tackling each black Christmas movie, one
- 1:24year at a time. So, guess what?
- 1:25Next year's Christmas me, you'll be by the way.
- 1:29Merry Christmas. - yeah. Merry Christmas.
- 1:31Yeah. Depending on when you're
- 1:32listening to this what day will this come out on 22nd?
- 1:36We second okay, yes. So there's a couple of days.
- 1:39Yeah so yeah you know hope people watch this movie because
- 1:44I think that this is a great Christmas movie.
- 1:47Yeah. It's one fuck of a bummer.
- 1:50Yeah. It doesn't put you in like the
- 1:52Christmas spirit but like there's I don't know.
- 1:55It's lights and caroling Christmas movies are too high on
- 1:58being jolly. We need like a little bit of
- 2:01bombers out there too. Because like, not, everybody has
- 2:04a good Christmas. Like, sometimes last shit
- 2:06happens cooking dinner, you literally rattled off like 15
- 2:10Christmas horror movies and you're sitting here saying that
- 2:12they don't all need to be jolly. Whoa, we've watched so many
- 2:15cheesy Christmas movies, though. Like this right here is adding
- 2:18some of the anti Jolly to the mix, you know, Christmas is
- 2:23like, or if you're my mom, the Jolly boots of Doom.
- 2:26Joe, that's from Invader. Zim.
- 2:27It is. Yeah, she loves it.
- 2:29Yeah. It's It's a good good special.
- 2:31I like that too. Yeah.
- 2:33Christmas sweaters. Like some of the best shit like
- 2:36I think that there are more Christmas horror movies and
- 2:38Halloween horror movies, which is saying something, it's just a
- 2:42good time to do, like, said at Christmas like movie, a horror
- 2:46movie, anyways, whatever do we have any announcements, so we
- 2:52don't fully ifyou're a, a budget level Patron.
- 2:58We should hopefully have our This episode out sometime within
- 3:01the next week. This week, probably, like, by
- 3:03this yankin because we have, I don't want to, I don't want to
- 3:06say by this weekend. I don't want to give a hard
- 3:08deadline. Okay.
- 3:09No hard deadlines but it's coming up soon.
- 3:12Yes, you know, and we gave you the option to say, if you don't
- 3:16want us to talk about cheesy Christmas movies and nobody
- 3:19spoke out against that. So I'm not saying we're
- 3:22definitely talking about Archie favorite, cheesy Christmas
- 3:25movies but I'm not not saying that.
- 3:27Yeah, we'll see. Yeah, so other than that,
- 3:31anything? Okay, well let's do some poses
- 3:33real quick so we talked about Jack Frost last week we did and
- 3:38we wanted to know what, everybody's favorite holiday
- 3:40tradition is. So we have, let's start off on
- 3:44Twitter this week. 0% makes special.
- 3:50No, no, special is being made by anybody.
- 3:54It's disgraceful, it is 57% is decorating.
- 3:59The Christmas tree. 14% building a killer snowman 29% being
- 4:05jailed for public urination, okay, over on Instagram again,
- 4:13zero percent on making special. Why do you guys hate special so
- 4:17much special? Save the day in Jack Frost
- 4:21without special. They wouldn't have figured out
- 4:23how to kill him. Yeah.
- 4:24But imagine if Sam was like an indulgent father and had
- 4:28actually taken a bite I love it. He would have died to the movie
- 4:32would have ended in a different different type of wave would
- 4:34have went into a whole different territory.
- 4:37There 18% would decorate the Christmas tree or that's their
- 4:42favorite tradition. 45% building, a killer snowman and
- 4:4636% arrested for public urination so it's good to know.
- 4:52Yeah, I think everybody needs to know not just because he's sad
- 4:56that it's zero percent but we were at One of our nephews
- 5:01birthday parties, this weekend and they have a little Melissa
- 5:04and Doug play cupcake set and he got various nieces and nephews
- 5:08to decorate cupcakes and bring them to me saying that they made
- 5:11special for me. Yeah.
- 5:13They didn't say it the way the like they're like and Jesse I
- 5:15made you something special like no, that's not it.
- 5:18It's me. I made you special is special.
- 5:22Not something special. They blew it, they blew it.
- 5:28And I had to like described for them like, know they made you
- 5:31special so I hope you didn't either Well, I didn't eat it
- 5:36because it was actually blocks of wood but, you know, that's
- 5:41fine, that's their special, you know, it's not antifreeze.
- 5:44It's what I would take that over the antifreeze, honestly, you
- 5:48kind of got lucky, really okay. For this right here, I'm going
- 5:52to go with decorating the Christmas tree because yeah,
- 5:56it's fun. I probably honestly would have
- 5:59to go with that to snowman. I get cold so easily.
- 6:03Yeah, that's not for you might. Yeah, my hands go completely
- 6:06numb. Public urination is a whole
- 6:10different Beast for women anyway.
- 6:12That's true. Yeah, I guess I could also say
- 6:16made special because I love to make gingerbread men even though
- 6:19I am allergic to Cinnamon, you make special all the time.
- 6:22Yeah, that's something that is deadly to you and you eat it, I
- 6:25stop when my mouth starts to itch.
- 6:27Cool. That's great.
- 6:28I love hearing that Travis is Travis gets very stressed out
- 6:32when I bake things, cinnamon, it's just not fair because you
- 6:36are so against me, eating anything strawberry or like a
- 6:39hint of pumpkin spice and you're out here.
- 6:43Just haven't seen them in all willy-nilly.
- 6:44Think it was strawberry is that you break out in hives.
- 6:47I haven't had hives. I just started breaking out in
- 6:50something and read with us. Pumpkin.
- 6:53You only need like a hint of it before you get to the mouth.
- 6:56Itchy face. Phase.
- 6:57Whereas I can have like three or four gingerbread cookies before
- 7:01my mouth gets itchy. I'm just saying it's not fair.
- 7:04I'm just saying I'm gonna enjoy it before.
- 7:05It becomes an anaphylactic type of allergy, okay, until it
- 7:10actually becomes antifreeze. Yes, exactly.
- 7:13Okay, cool. Alright, that's it for a pose.
- 7:16So I got a lot of information on our little movie here today, you
- 7:20do? Yeah.
- 7:21Couldn't tell if it was because you were excited or because I
- 7:23said, I would get started on cleaning the house while you got
- 7:25the background information. No.
- 7:27Okay, I'm excited because there's no secret.
- 7:30I love this movie. I really wanted to watch the
- 7:33special features that we got. We have the we watch this, by
- 7:36the way, on Ice Cream Factory 4K, which just came out like a
- 7:39week ago. Yeah.
- 7:40There are about 500 places of that.
- 7:43This is available to watch. Yeah.
- 7:44But I really wanted to watch the special feature stuff because
- 7:47it's really interesting. They have like a shit ton of
- 7:49commentaries. So I'll dig into that at some
- 7:53point soon but unfortunately I can't pass that information on
- 7:57You guys today, but I still got stuff.
- 8:00So this movie came out. December 20th, 1974 as of today,
- 8:07December 18th 2022. You can watch this on a shit ton
- 8:11of places. Like Jesse said, you can watch
- 8:13it on shutter YouTube to be peacock, crackle, crackle,
- 8:19Amazon, Fubu, You can also rent it from Google Play and Voodoo.
- 8:27Yeah, there's just it it's everywhere.
- 8:30Yeah, it's not a hidden film, it's so easy to find.
- 8:34Yeah, go go look for it. Please.
- 8:37It was written by Roy. Moore directed by Bob Clark with
- 8:41music by Carl's. Is it true visitor?
- 8:45Zi T TR TR it's rare. It's a tray, I don't know.
- 8:49This is a Canadian film. So there could be some French
- 8:52people, you know? And a special effects makeup by
- 8:55Warren killer. What it's spelled Kei, Lor.
- 9:01Oh killer, right? I don't know these people, you
- 9:04said killer and I was going to say that is an amazing name for
- 9:07a special effects. What if they pronounce it killer
- 9:09right? Maybe maybe that's why they got
- 9:11into special effects makeup. Maybe see those the bad fake
- 9:16blood in this movie. Yeah.
- 9:19I mean there's not a ton of special effects to be had.
- 9:22Anyway. Yeah.
- 9:23One of the kill. Our off-screen on this, which is
- 9:26a okay in my book. Normally, I like to see you in
- 9:28like full display, but this movie is so, well made that
- 9:32doing it off screen, and keeping the mystery there.
- 9:35I like it and we kind of glossed over Bob Clark director of A
- 9:40Christmas Story. Yeah, and I feel like we're
- 9:42coming full circle because we just did my side of the family's
- 9:45Christmas today and my mom. Got you.
- 9:48Pink bunny rabbit pajamas because she looked like he said
- 9:51that I give off the A kid who was given those by their parents
- 9:57and forced to wear them. Yeah, which not true but also
- 10:03I'm wrong. Yeah, like five is correct.
- 10:06Ya know, I think had, I think if, if pink bunny suit had been
- 10:12readily available to your mom, she would have bought it and
- 10:16forget it. My mom has the leg lamp from
- 10:19that. Yeah, so it's a classic, my nana
- 10:21watches Christmas. It was A Christmas Story.
- 10:25Yes, every single year, it's like a tradition.
- 10:28Which is why last year I wanted to show this movie to them
- 10:31because I was like, hey, I got another Christmas movie by the
- 10:34guy that did Christmas Story. Come on, guys, it's a good time.
- 10:38And yeah, Jesse reminded me that it's not exactly a good idea to
- 10:43show my grandma a movie that has such vulgar language.
- 10:47Yeah. However, I think she would
- 10:49appreciate the humor in this movie.
- 10:52Yeah, I think this movie has some pretty good humor, too.
- 10:54Yeah, it's got some good moments.
- 10:56Yeah. Alright, the cast we have Olivia
- 10:59Hussey, who plays Jess? Yes, funny thing about her.
- 11:04She played this part because she did a fortune telling, and they
- 11:10told her that in the future, she will be a part of a very
- 11:14successful Canadian film, huh? And she was offered this, and
- 11:19she's like, holy shit, I gotta take it that.
- 11:22The film and it's very successful.
- 11:24It is while it wasn't immediately successful in this
- 11:27movie. Yeah, absolutely.
- 11:29Cult classic. It has legs cured.
- 11:33Julia plays Peter. Or as Jesse has requested me to
- 11:39call him fighter. I fight Joe Swanson.
- 11:44I asked him to do the entire episode.
- 11:47We will see if he keeps up with anybody.
- 11:48I can't. If you, if you have me do that I
- 11:50get stuck. It's like you.
- 11:52It's also like you with the Seth Rogen laughs.
- 11:54Yeah, I don't know. God damn it.
- 12:02Okay. Margot Kidder plays Barb.
- 12:05James Edmund plays mr. Stir Harrison Andrea Martin
- 12:09please. Fill Marion Waldman plays Miss
- 12:12Mack. John Saxon plays Lieutenant Ken
- 12:15Fuller and I got a slew of people here for Billy, so all
- 12:22the various Billy voices. Yes.
- 12:24So there is many people who did the voice of Billy.
- 12:26So we have Bob Clark himself. He did some of the voices Nick
- 12:31Mancuso is also one of the caller voices and and Sweeney.
- 12:37Which Billy kind of switches into like a female voice a
- 12:40couple of times part of this movie is like he switches voices
- 12:44all the time and it's really confusing to everybody.
- 12:47Yeah, but I have one person that is nobody can.
- 12:51Remember, who did the famous shot with the eye in the door
- 12:56way? Nobody knows what that guy was
- 12:59but they think it might have been the camera.
- 13:01Operator Albert J dunk who kind of did most of his Scenes.
- 13:07Anyways, we don't really see Billy a lot in this movie but
- 13:10you see is like feet his hands stuff like that.
- 13:13So yeah, this is like the camera operator.
- 13:15So he just named the I used. Basically he's also the guy that
- 13:19he did like the first person shots to of Billy.
- 13:21So he's like Billy as he's walking around.
- 13:25Yeah, he had like a harness so he tied everything like, around
- 13:29his arms. Oh yeah, this is nice and sunny
- 13:33for, I guess if you did this nowadays, just like, fucking go.
- 13:36H. Yeah, and this is like a 40
- 13:40years before Halloween, which they had a native technology of
- 13:44the panic. Why'd?
- 13:45Ya? Which don't have that here.
- 13:47They had to like. And the crazy thing about this
- 13:49is he did all that shit and he climbed up the side of a fucking
- 13:53building two in one of the scenes cameras are fucking
- 13:55heavy. Yeah, like, it's impressive that
- 13:58they were able to pull this off. I like picturing in the third
- 14:02Hunger Games, it's I've only seen the movies one time, so I
- 14:06can't tell. Tell you how it was portrayed in
- 14:08the movies, but the way I always read it in the book, the third
- 14:10book, they're shooting like a bunch of propaganda videos and
- 14:17she describes the camera operators as having on like a
- 14:20full body camera suit and they do like all of the physical
- 14:23activities with her and they're always, like running after her
- 14:25and climbing, shit, too. Yeah, that's kind of what I'm
- 14:27picturing. I've not seen the movie but I
- 14:30can kind of Envision that to okay.
- 14:34So yeah, that's all the cast are Jesse, but everybody said I'm
- 14:39gonna get this bug. Ted?
- 14:40Okay, you're correct. This is a bug Ted movie way more
- 14:45bug to than I expected. This is a bug Ted of 620,000.
- 14:49Wow. Yeah.
- 14:50And even a mill skis. Hmm.
- 14:52Which I don't know, like inflation.
- 14:55That might be like around that seems like a moderate inflation
- 15:00math. That's why I like pulling the
- 15:02other movies of the time. Okay, well, I do have Okay.
- 15:06So, so, How much is? How much money did this movie?
- 15:10First off? Let's finish that.
- 15:11Okay, so I don't have the opening for it but it grossed
- 15:154.1 million. Okay and on IMDb it's a seven
- 15:18point one tragic, that's good. I mean, I know it's good for
- 15:22IMDb but it shouldn't be. Yes.
- 15:25The Shining was in the eights. This should be in the 8th.
- 15:27Yes, absolutely. So.
- 15:30All right, so the three movies for 1974.
- 15:35Exactly a big year for horror movies.
- 15:38That are recognizable today, there is one big movie that we
- 15:43all know and love. It's Texas, Chainsaw, Texas,
- 15:47Chainsaw Massacre came out this year too.
- 15:49Who will survive and what will be left of them?
- 15:51Yes, you got it. So I was with somebody who's
- 15:56like mildly obsessed with that movie.
- 15:58Look man. This is 1974 was a good year for
- 16:03slashers and Travis, even if these are the only In two movies
- 16:08that I really care about from 1974 like they shape the
- 16:11landscape of slashers yeah or ever.
- 16:15It's kind of crazy that both of these movies how in like
- 16:17Innovative they are and they live in the same year.
- 16:20I feel like they're both very representative of your taste and
- 16:23movies too. Yeah.
- 16:24They are. They're very different takes on
- 16:28it. So you have one which is like
- 16:30the seasonal. This is the first like seasonal
- 16:32horror movie really, where you don't really see the killer.
- 16:37Everything's Mysterious. And then you have the other one
- 16:39where it's like. So in your face and just
- 16:42Relentless weather faces a fucking scary man to look at.
- 16:47But both of them also, leave a lot of the kills off screen.
- 16:50That's true. Yeah, and originally, this movie
- 16:52was supposed to have a lot more of that Gore on screen, but Bob
- 16:55Clark was like, let's tone it back a little bit and the rider
- 16:58was kind of like Nick. I don't want to do that but
- 17:00after he watched the movies like yeah.
- 17:02Right cool. Yeah.
- 17:04So it really, let's the writing shine, though.
- 17:07By not putting all of the core on screen.
- 17:10Yeah, not that. I have a problem with core being
- 17:12on screen but really letting that tension just seep in.
- 17:17Yeah, it is more about atmosphere intention and like,
- 17:21just building that anxiety, instead of grossing you out or
- 17:25like, freaking you out from seeing people get eviscerated?
- 17:29Yeah, yeah. I mean, some of the best ones
- 17:32are like, they like how means the same way, which was super
- 17:34inspired by black Christmas. Actually, I think I was reading
- 17:40John Carpenter was inspired by Halloween, are by black.
- 17:43Miss to make a lloween because apparently Bob Clark was
- 17:49describing. Like if you were to do a black
- 17:52Christmas equal, what it would be and then John Carpenter's.
- 17:55Like I'll make it so he made it his fucking Halloween.
- 17:59So alright. Texas, Chainsaw Massacre came
- 18:01out October 11th with a budget of 300,000.
- 18:06However, this is always disputed because the man who knows the
- 18:12most about Texas, Chainsaw Massacre.
- 18:14Joe Bob. Yes, has described that the
- 18:17mafia was heavily involved in the production?
- 18:20Did you not know that? I don't remember that.
- 18:23Yeah, the mafia funded, this like that movie and the figures
- 18:28are a why, it's so muddy. Nobody knows the true budget for
- 18:31that, but it's more than 300,000, what is Tobe Hooper's
- 18:35life? I know, right?
- 18:37Like it gets even weirder. Weirder later on, but it grows
- 18:4230 million dollars and IMDb score of 7.4 again, bump it up
- 18:48to eight, man. Yeah, like That's a classic.
- 18:52There's nothing bad about the movie.
- 18:53It's fucking amazing. All right, so I'm having to go
- 18:57into some Uncharted territories with these.
- 18:59Next two movies are not movies that we're familiar with, but I
- 19:03originally wanted to do a theme of scary posters, they just
- 19:11didn't really have anything good.
- 19:13Like, I couldn't get any information from most of them,
- 19:15so I don't have the budgets for the following two movies.
- 19:17But I got some information. So this one right here is called
- 19:21madhouse. It has Vincent Price.
- 19:25So we know that it probably has some of it.
- 19:27Yeah, it probably has some money behind it.
- 19:31I would say maybe around black Christmas if I were to guess
- 19:37it'd be in between that and the stated budget of Texas chainsaw
- 19:41if I were to guess without having seen this movie at all.
- 19:46That movie made, I don't know. I don't have the gross on it but
- 19:50as a 6.2 on IMDb, okay. And the next one I just thought
- 19:55Was a fun title and it's from what I was reading.
- 19:59One of the sleaziest shallow movies, it's called nude for
- 20:03Satan. Oh my God and that came out on
- 20:08October 23rd, no budget. But apparently I made 56
- 20:12million. I don't fucking know if that's
- 20:15accurate or not. I like if that were the case I
- 20:17feel like we would all know about this movie but yeah has a
- 20:21four point to an imdb. Oh boy.
- 20:23Yeah I know. Good movie.
- 20:25Okay, I might want to watch it though.
- 20:28Just the name and like the fact that it's just yellow.
- 20:32Yeah, so easy. Jolla, you know, those are fun.
- 20:35Always, I don't care how bad they are.
- 20:37We're going to be fun. All right, so I've got quite a
- 20:40few taglines for this actually. Okay, so first one, this is on
- 20:44the poster. If this movie doesn't make your
- 20:47skin crawl, it's on too tight. I resent that tagline for
- 20:52implying that my skin is too tight.
- 20:55And now you're making everybody self-conscious about their skin.
- 20:57Yeah. Like why you gotta do that?
- 20:59Because my skin too tight. My skin did crawl a little bit
- 21:02during this? Maybe not.
- 21:03Maybe I could skin. I don't know.
- 21:05Maybe you just don't have good skin.
- 21:08I don't have good skin, which is why I resent this tag line,
- 21:11okay? Yeah.
- 21:12It's making people think about their bad skin, okay?
- 21:15Next, Christmas is coming early this year and it's murder.
- 21:21I don't get that. Like, that one's just kind of,
- 21:24doesn't it? Feels like they had a thought
- 21:26and then like somebody's like and it's murder whatever they
- 21:29wrote it down while they were drunk and they couldn't remember
- 21:33what the thought was behind it. They're like, fuck it, use it
- 21:36anyway murder. Okay it's murder, whatever.
- 21:40All right. Next one, the sort of Christmas
- 21:45you don't dream of Okay, no. Have yourself a scary little
- 21:51Christmas, not at all like the ones you used to know.
- 21:56Is the the black Christmas. The I'm not the type you dream
- 22:01of that makes sense because of White Christmas.
- 22:02Yeah. That is going into a completely
- 22:05different Christmas song know. These like kind of just go more
- 22:09into just like it's Christmas. Let's make a spooky.
- 22:12You know that's pretty much it. The next one is he knows when
- 22:16you're sleeping, he knows if you're awake, he knows.
- 22:20Actually it's all in caps. Like he knows, he does either.
- 22:27He's just hanging on the attic. Making phone calls half the
- 22:30time. Yeah.
- 22:30He's really just looking for the opportune moment.
- 22:33I got to keep necessarily cares if you're awake or asleep.
- 22:35Sometimes he does kind of linger around you.
- 22:39Get, you can kind of see him going around and some of the
- 22:41background shots. Occasionally.
- 22:44And then I've got some other ones here that okay, these are
- 22:48weird because they're almost like Like little Christmas
- 22:53stories, they're really long so I'm pulling.
- 22:56I'm DB back up to read them. Okay.
- 22:58So the first one is Twas the night before Christmas and all
- 23:02through the house, not a creature was stirring.
- 23:04The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.
- 23:07But it was hard to say that Saint Nick would be there this
- 23:10year at Christmas of another color.
- 23:12Brings a killer on the loose. Okay, this doesn't sound like a
- 23:14tagline. That sounds like the voice over
- 23:16for a trailer. Maybe I've got another one.
- 23:20Do you want to hear? I guess.
- 23:22Okay, it's beginning to look a lot like Bloodshed Christmas Is
- 23:27Almost Here and an axe-wielding psycho is terrorizing a
- 23:31sorority. He doesn't have an axe.
- 23:33Also, like you could have just thought it's beginning to look a
- 23:35lot like Bloodshed, okay? As it happens.
- 23:39The mad murderer also makes obscene, phone calls, and he
- 23:42lives right above the girls. I mean, he doesn't live.
- 23:45There is this kind of Watering their, he hasn't been there long
- 23:50enough for squatter's rights to even kick in.
- 23:52We would. Okay.
- 23:53Yeah, we don't really know in this one.
- 23:55I think that it's implied, that that is his old house.
- 23:59That's definitely the thing in the remake.
- 24:01They kind of explored that more but I think that that was kind
- 24:04of revealed by Bob Clark, at some point.
- 24:07I'm not entirely sure, I could be wrong.
- 24:09So don't quote me on that. You just quoted yourself on
- 24:13that. So you Travis 2022.
- 24:16Don't believe me. Ever.
- 24:19I don't. So with that.
- 24:21Let's get into the fun facts for you.
- 24:23Maybe I'm lying. Maybe, I'm not.
- 24:25Let's find out. So the first one is Warner Bros
- 24:31and initially wanted to change the title of this when they were
- 24:34first released to Silent Night evil night, they did this
- 24:39because they thought that the title black Christmas might make
- 24:42others think that it's a blaxploitation movie.
- 24:46So which I can kind of get that because that was like a big
- 24:49genre at the time but you know, I guess like nothing wrong with
- 24:53that by. You probably don't want to
- 24:54mislead people with that like it.
- 24:57I mean, if you're watching the trailer, you should know.
- 24:59Like, it's definitely not one of those.
- 25:01I don't think there's a single black person in this movie.
- 25:05Also, not great. But yeah, it's not gray.
- 25:08Like I'm not saying that's a good thing.
- 25:09I'm just saying like, yeah, it's just kind of what it is.
- 25:11This is a very white movie. Yeah.
- 25:15So they changed it back after like the first showing and I,
- 25:19yeah, but Christmas is a good title.
- 25:21See, and I'm glad they did because silent and I evil night
- 25:26and this is, of course, It's from a 2022 lens, but all I can
- 25:29think of a silent night deadly night.
- 25:31I know, and those movies have a very different kind of tone to
- 25:33this. Yes, own identity.
- 25:35And I think it's Reservoir itself straight again.
- 25:38We've never seen the first one, all the way through.
- 25:39We just watched to, which I think kind of like stains the
- 25:43what they're trying to do with their first one because 2 is
- 25:46just not serious at all. I don't think I could ever watch
- 25:50and enjoy the first one. Now though, I know I don't I
- 25:53want to at some point but like any time that It's come up.
- 25:58It's like let's just watch 2 because 2 is so fun.
- 26:01Yes. And and it half of it is part
- 26:05one. Yeah.
- 26:06Exactly. Like you're watching 1 through 2
- 26:08so we don't really feel like we need to watch it.
- 26:10Yeah. Plus garbage day garbage day
- 26:15naughty punish can't wait to watch that.
- 26:20We're going to be watching it really, really?
- 26:21Yeah. Okay.
- 26:24Had a couple of other names too when it was being written.
- 26:27Init script phase it was called stop me.
- 26:30Hmm. Yeah and then they were going to
- 26:33release a like the TV version was going to have his Premiere
- 26:37in, I believe. 1976. It was going to be on the NBC
- 26:44through their weekly segment Saturday night at the movies.
- 26:48It was going to be called, stranger in the house, not
- 26:52incorrect. No, it's pretty on the nose.
- 26:56I mean, that's exactly what it is.
- 26:58Two weeks though, before, that was going to Premiere.
- 27:01There happened to be a incident at the Chi.
- 27:04Omega sorority house, where somebody broke in killed two
- 27:08sorority sisters. Oh, God and attacked two others
- 27:13in Florida. This happened to be serial
- 27:16killer Ted Bundy and as a result of that, the governor of Florida
- 27:21called NBC and requested that they not play it.
- 27:24So Embassy gave them the options like, okay, well you guys Guys
- 27:28can play this if you want to or you can play this movie called
- 27:31Doc Savage, the man of bronze. I don't know what the fuck that
- 27:35is, but that's when they went with, I don't know, I don't
- 27:40know. Okay.
- 27:41I don't know what they want with.
- 27:42I don't know what the decision was.
- 27:44They gave it like, they gave stations in Florida, Georgia,
- 27:48Alabama, like surrounding states, the option.
- 27:51So I think it was based on like the local broadcast what they
- 27:57wanted to do. So I'm sure some people saw
- 27:58black Christmas and some saw Doc Savage, the man of bronze.
- 28:04Okay. The execs initially, one of the
- 28:08change the ending, to this movie, they didn't like the
- 28:11uncertainty of it. So, what they suggested the Bob
- 28:14Clark was they wanted Chris, you know, Claire's boyfriend to be
- 28:20the last one there with Jess, after the cops leave and just
- 28:24wakes up and Chris's. Don't Agnes, don't tell them
- 28:30what we did where it implies that it's been Chris this whole
- 28:33time. But Bob Clark was like um, he's
- 28:36with the cops, like the entire movie that would be a major plot
- 28:39hole also and I'm sure we'll get to this.
- 28:42I don't feel like the ending. Is that ambiguous?
- 28:45No, it's not. But okay, your interpretation
- 28:50though, she died. Yes.
- 28:52Okay. Because he likes to do the phone
- 28:53call. After he's killed somebody, they
- 28:55man. Chris never went back.
- 28:57Inside, he helped get mr. Harrison outside and then he was
- 29:00just taking a breather because as far as he knows everything
- 29:04safe, he staying there, waiting for jessa's parents.
- 29:06It's not like he thought he had to be up there watching her, so
- 29:09you see him on the front porch? Yeah, it's quiet long enough for
- 29:12Billy to have gone down there and killed her and then he makes
- 29:15a phone call. I agree.
- 29:17If you were to ask me, I would say that she dies in this.
- 29:20Yes, it's fucking dark and I've got chills talking about it.
- 29:23The ending is like one of the most bummer endings of orbits,
- 29:26amazing. It's yeah.
- 29:27Yeah, no, it's really well done. It just it.
- 29:30So is tragic all the way through.
- 29:32Here's the thing, we talked about this last year on our
- 29:35whack Xmas episode, but Bob Clark was in the process of
- 29:41working on a sequel, he did die in a car crash, drunk driver
- 29:47kind of a bummer there but um the plan for that was so Olivia,
- 29:53Hussey and John Saxon were both going to reprise their roles
- 29:56which Tells me that Jesus was going to survive because well I
- 30:01mean it's tribe says here. She was going to be the house
- 30:03mother of the sorority in that movie so which is kind of funny
- 30:08because in the 2006 black Xmas it's Margot Kidder.
- 30:12That comes back as necessary. Yeah, that's cool too.
- 30:15Yeah. So okay yeah.
- 30:18So I think that's kind of like revisionist right there because
- 30:21I don't think that that I think it's pretty it's unclear but it
- 30:25gets pretty clear. Yeah she dies in this.
- 30:27Movie. Yeah, yeah.
- 30:30I mean there is no reason to believe that.
- 30:31He wouldn't have gone down there and straight up murdered her.
- 30:35Yeah. Right.
- 30:35Because he was murdering people, when the house was full.
- 30:39Yeah, he was not afraid to, like, fuck around with people in
- 30:42that house. There's down there and said, at
- 30:44least she was sedated. Yeah, that's true.
- 30:47Yeah, she probably Joey Ramone would be proud.
- 30:49Yeah. Okay.
- 30:52That's, that's my fun facts. Okay.
- 30:54So it's time to talk about the movie, okay?
- 30:57All right, so give me a good bad, ugly absurd.
- 31:00Wait on me. Okay, the good.
- 31:03It's a very tense movie. I feel like it's really well
- 31:08grounded. There's a lot of like it doesn't
- 31:11mean under it tells the story in a way that feels mostly
- 31:15realistic and it touches on some very serious topics.
- 31:22And treats them in a way. They would happen in real life.
- 31:27So like with the crank caller that's a very real thing and the
- 31:31cops brushing it off again very real.
- 31:34Yeah. The.
- 31:39You know, the whole like oh well maybe she's with her boyfriend,
- 31:42maybe this maybe that like that happens all the time.
- 31:44Even with the little girl, it isn't until they find a murdered
- 31:47body that they're like, oh shit. Yeah, we need to take this
- 31:49seriously and by then it's too late for a lot of reasons, the
- 31:52whole storyline with Jess and Peter to where she like, 100%
- 32:00knows what she wants. She knows her life path and she
- 32:02knows that Peter is not part of her life path.
- 32:05Yeah. This movie gets really dark with
- 32:07like, some of its subject matter And it treats it pretty
- 32:10matter-of-factly. Yeah it's not it doesn't feel
- 32:13very after school special. It's just like hey this is shit
- 32:17that people that specifically women have to deal with.
- 32:21Yeah it's real life. Yeah and it's just presented as
- 32:25Not necessarily like oh this is happening because women blah
- 32:30blah. But like it's integral to the
- 32:35heart of the story. It's like good key.
- 32:37Part of the plan. Yes.
- 32:39Like nobody taking shit seriously.
- 32:41Yes. The police would have actually
- 32:43acted on this shit. Like nobody would have mean
- 32:46somebody would have died obviously but like not as many
- 32:49people yeah, it could have been stopped.
- 32:51Yeah. So it's just it's great and like
- 32:55I I already said the ending is just so chilling, the bad.
- 33:03I really don't have that much bad.
- 33:06Alright, this hard. It's hard to pick anything bad
- 33:08about this movie. I would love more Barb.
- 33:11Yeah. Barney such a good care.
- 33:12Yes. And even more mrs.
- 33:16Mac. But I don't think we need both
- 33:17Barb and mrs. Mac, I feel like they both Serve
- 33:22kind of similar roles just aged apart.
- 33:26Yeah, kind of they're very similar.
- 33:28Barb is more like unashamed of like she will tell you how she
- 33:33thinks. Meanwhile Miss Mack will kind of
- 33:36like under her breath and then when she's alone, drinking show
- 33:39like air grievances. But like here's the brilliant
- 33:42thing about Margot, Kidder being mrs.
- 33:44Mac in the 2006 remake is the fact that mrs.
- 33:47Mac is very likely, a version of who Barb could have grown up
- 33:50into. Because she also speaks her
- 33:53mind, but she doesn't do it as directly.
- 33:55She does it. And the adults, I understand
- 33:58that I have to play a socio-political kind of game
- 34:01type of way, like, she's like I'm a house mother.
- 34:04I'm responsible for these people.
- 34:05I can't say, 100% what's on my mind?
- 34:07So, I've got to say it in a way that is socially acceptable.
- 34:10And gets me what I want. Yeah, I will do this by hiding
- 34:14all kinds of alcohol throughout the house and getting fucked up.
- 34:17Yes. Yeah, that's how she deals with
- 34:18it. The ugly.
- 34:22Peter and Billy. Yeah, they're both very ugly
- 34:26parts of women. It's like how they are treated.
- 34:31So the the crank calls are really really hard for me to
- 34:35listen to you because for a long time and I know you do this for
- 34:42listeners with the show for a long time.
- 34:44I was a volunteer Rape Crisis Center like call answer.
- 34:51There's no that with the title is of call answer, but yeah.
- 34:56Like I would, I would staff the line so many shifts per month
- 35:00and you know, if somebody called in and reported you know that
- 35:05they had been assaulted or that they were like, you know, in
- 35:09some form of like acute crisis about it, you know, like a talk
- 35:14them through and figure out what their options could be or just,
- 35:17you know, get them to a place where they could be, you know,
- 35:19safe. Yeah.
- 35:22In unfortunately. Those are lines that are often
- 35:26targeted for. Calls.
- 35:31Like what you hear in the movie and it's already very
- 35:37emotionally and psychologically difficult work and adding that
- 35:43in on top of it. Was disheartening because of
- 35:51just having to listen to that stuff and they weren't always
- 35:54out, right? Like what he was saying?
- 35:56Yeah, you know, that kind of stuff, but like, sometimes it
- 35:59would start off, somebody that said that they, you know, we're
- 36:02having flashbacks, but then, they would want to go into
- 36:04excruciating detail. And then you could hear like, I
- 36:09don't want you to hear sounds. I can't.
- 36:12Yeah, and that's that sucks and A lot of those people probably
- 36:18did have trauma themselves. Also is the thing, it just like,
- 36:22it's awful all around. Terrible.
- 36:24No good. And hearing these calls, just
- 36:28fucking sucks in the movie. I mean, it adds to the grounding
- 36:34of it, you know, making it feel very real but also like it is
- 36:38just it's a heavy watch all around.
- 36:41This is not like a light-hearted movie to just have on in the
- 36:43background. No.
- 36:44If it makes you feel better during the Of those scenes.
- 36:49They put those lines in in post, like, when they were actually
- 36:55filming. It was Bob Clark there on the
- 36:57side, like, giving like, like very mildly intimidating lines,
- 37:02and they would react to that. But yeah, they didn't like, get
- 37:05the full effect of everything being said.
- 37:07Yeah. So it and you know and when
- 37:09she's telling the cop, she's like these are difficult calls
- 37:12for me to listen to like that's fucking real.
- 37:15Like I get that she's supposed to be He trying to keep this guy
- 37:18on the line but those it's not it's not an easy thing to sit
- 37:22there and listen to that and like being a target of abuse in
- 37:25that way, just putting yourself in that perspective just I'm
- 37:29trying to think of what that would be like my skin would be
- 37:32fucking crawling like the poster like I would have like hairs
- 37:35standing up straight like I would be panicking.
- 37:38Yeah I mean I've got Goose Bumps underneath my sweatshirt right
- 37:41now. We're just talking about, looks
- 37:42it's awful, it's awful. Yeah.
- 37:46So I mean it's ugly. I'm in that like it is an ugly
- 37:49reality. Yeah.
- 37:52Much like Peter is I will talk more about Peter as we go
- 37:55through the movie. But yeah yeah, yeah.
- 37:58And then the Absurd. Mrs. Max toilet Sherry.
- 38:06Yeah, that one is so bad. Okay, listen, here's the thing.
- 38:11Fucking John Kramer at least wraps the hacksaw in a garbage
- 38:15bag before he puts it in the toilet tank.
- 38:17She's put her lips to this bottle.
- 38:19That's in the toilet tank. Yeah, dirty-ass toileting, it's
- 38:23not in the actual toilet, which would be worse.
- 38:26The toilet tank. Still not exactly the a good
- 38:28place and it's a dirty toilet tank.
- 38:30Yeah, gross. Nasty.
- 38:32Yeah, yeah. So that's my absurd.
- 38:35Okay. So what do you rate this 9.5
- 38:389.5? Yes boy.
- 38:41Okay. So yeah, I fucking love this
- 38:45movie. This is a staple here in the
- 38:48house. We watch this every year.
- 38:50I've been in love with this since first time watching, it
- 38:54blew me away. The good.
- 38:56Is that it does such a good job of building, that atmosphere.
- 39:01It gets started. It away.
- 39:02Like the very first thing that we see is him stalking them from
- 39:06outside and approaching the house in first person and then
- 39:08climbing up the side of the house into the attic.
- 39:11And we gonna kill like, when like the first 10 minutes and
- 39:15it's not like cheap. None of the stuff in this movie
- 39:17is cheap. Everything is earned.
- 39:18Yeah. And like they lay the groundwork
- 39:20there to make it creepy and effective and it just is so
- 39:24good. Like I just feel so tense.
- 39:26I don't care how many times I watch this movie, they just it's
- 39:29just shot. Well, it's don't know.
- 39:31It's amazing. Being the bad.
- 39:34I mean, kind of like what you were saying.
- 39:35I don't think that there's any bad thing about this movie.
- 39:39I can't think of a single negative thing to say about it.
- 39:44The ugly, obviously the ugly people and the treatment that
- 39:53the women experience in this movie, is very bad.
- 39:55But on the way, hearted side, I'll just say the bad fake blood
- 39:59in this, it's ugly to look at It's so bright, it's just not
- 40:04good, they night. Yeah, they didn't really, they
- 40:08didn't emphasize the special effects in this movie, like,
- 40:11even when I was pulling up the stuff, they're the special
- 40:14effects. Person was uncredited, like they
- 40:16just didn't emphasize it. Yeah, it is what it is.
- 40:22And the Absurd for me, the way Jessica answers, the phone every
- 40:27single time. She's always like full blast
- 40:29volume. Hello.
- 40:30Hello. Yes, who is this?
- 40:34Like, you know, like he imagined I calling a place like that and
- 40:36then having her, like, screaming in your ear hole, like that?
- 40:39Like, Jesus Christ. Like, I'm just calling.
- 40:41And I know, I don't be afraid to call like, oh my God, I hope
- 40:45just doesn't come to be bar. So, yeah, I'm giving this at in.
- 40:52Okay, this is a fucking perfect horror movie for me.
- 40:55All right, so we're starting off with an average 9.75.
- 40:58All right, beautiful, beautiful. Okey-dokey ready to get started.
- 41:04I am so ready. All right, so we start off with
- 41:09the shot of the sorority house and the coolest fucking title
- 41:13card ever. It's just black Christmas super
- 41:16effective and you get it, this, we're hearing silent night, but
- 41:22it's not lyrics that are recognized.
- 41:25Well, I got was starting the question at first as like do
- 41:27these people even know Silent Night like, but I feel like it's
- 41:30just not the Isabel lyrics that you usually hear.
- 41:34Yeah. I feel like it's when you are
- 41:37like it's the church version. So like there's like the
- 41:41Caroling version and then there's the church version which
- 41:44is like where you've got the coda and you go back to the top
- 41:47and there's oh there's three more lines here.
- 41:50That is so true because like singing shit and boys choir
- 41:54growing up like when we would do it for like church services and
- 41:58be like, oh okay, we're talking about like Jesus is extended
- 42:01War. Yeah, the jce.
- 42:05You okay. So we see Jess, she's coming
- 42:13into the house, there's a gathering.
- 42:15They're doing like a whole party.
- 42:16Their friends are over. They were boyfriend's over and
- 42:19then we also see Billy approach. I just want to say fill in her
- 42:23boyfriend, they look alike, right?
- 42:25They kind of make me think of Chuck and chili.
- 42:28Yeah holy shit except they look age-appropriate.
- 42:32Idiot. Yeah, they don't look like, you
- 42:34know, Mom and Dad hanging around the group of kids.
- 42:36Her boyfriend looks like well, the boyfriend looks old the
- 42:39boyfriend. What's the fucking toy were?
- 42:41You can like give guys like the really fuzzy head because he
- 42:44will lie. Yeah, he's a fuzzy woolly.
- 42:47Like I feel like that's not what he looks like.
- 42:49He just went to her. No, it's Willie.
- 42:51Willie fuzzy Woolly and just that's just who I was really.
- 42:55Okay. Willie Willie Willie Willie.
- 42:57Yeah, he's Wooly Willy. I feel like they just like he
- 43:00showed up on set, he doesn't That actual here, they're like,
- 43:03but this big on your girlfriend's going to have curly
- 43:07hair? You should to just roll with it.
- 43:10So yeah. Bill he's there, he's stalking
- 43:11them from outside. Get the cold shot of him
- 43:14climbing up the side of the house into the attic.
- 43:16Yes, this like movies like this. Make me really never want to
- 43:21Trellis but there's also a house down the street from us that has
- 43:26a trellis that sounds like he's climbing up.
- 43:28Yeah, I'm like that looks real nice and I'm like, I watch
- 43:32Videos like this one. Like we don't need a trellis and
- 43:34then I remember that we're a ranch.
- 43:36Anyway. So where are they going to climb
- 43:38to? Well that would just take the
- 43:41route that the raccoon did you know, recommends find their way
- 43:44into your a person can't do. They want to go?
- 43:46Yeah, that's true. So there's a phone call, it's
- 43:51long distance and it's Barb's mom who like really fucking
- 43:56sucks and is abandoning Barb the day before she supposed to come
- 44:00visit for dick basically. Yeah.
- 44:04And cabin somewhere to go skiing.
- 44:07Yeah. And so Barb's.
- 44:07Like, all right. Well, I guess I'll go see, who
- 44:10wants to go skiing with me? So, she's inviting some of the
- 44:12people that are still left. I can't imagine how she's not
- 44:15invited. Like her mom thinks that this is
- 44:16a getaway and then she's like, yeah.
- 44:18I'm going to fucking crashes. Know the way it's yeah.
- 44:21Like her mom is basically like, oh, don't worry about coming in
- 44:25for Christmas. I'm gonna be with my new
- 44:27boyfriend. Yeah, she's okay.
- 44:28Well, I'm going to come there, too, and we're going to ruin
- 44:31we're gonna cock block you hard. And then there's another phone
- 44:34call on. Just says it's him again, the
- 44:36moaner Barb answers and she kind of like pokes back at him and
- 44:42she just is over him. She hangs up and Claire's like
- 44:46hey you know there was An assault downtown, like not that
- 44:51long ago and Barbs like I'm not worried about it.
- 44:54This one right here, I think is the creepiest call to me because
- 44:57it starts off with him. Like it's very sexual stuff and
- 45:01then it kind of goes into like gibberish territory and then
- 45:04like he's like very like matter of fact I'm going to kill you
- 45:09and then yeah like he's pulls it together for that moment like
- 45:12I'm gonna fucking kill you. Yeah it reminds me of the dude
- 45:15that I thought was going to kill me on New Year's Eve the one and
- 45:17only time we went out. On New Year's Eve, remember
- 45:20that? No, I haven't I I definitely
- 45:22told you about this. I know you did but I was so
- 45:25fucking drunk then I. So it's right after the toast
- 45:29and everybody's like cheering, it's loud, it's fun.
- 45:32And this random dude, who's just like at the table next to us,
- 45:36like he just loves me. Was like, I could kill you right
- 45:38now. I was like, oh, what?
- 45:41What the fuck? Yeah, like just very like, in
- 45:43the phone call, like, just like I could kill you right now and I
- 45:45was like, cool. Travis, we need To leave and
- 45:49you're like, all lubbers are a hundred dollars right now and I
- 45:52was like, I'm not staying in this bar where there have been
- 45:56murders before, with the guy who said he could kill me.
- 46:01Yeah, we needed to get out of there.
- 46:04Yeah. It was bad.
- 46:05It was worth it. You know, is worth 100 bucks.
- 46:08It was 5000. But I remember very vividly
- 46:12because I'm like, 50 fucking dollars for an Uber, but it was
- 46:14New Year's Eve and it was snowing.
- 46:16So it was kind of dangerous road.
- 46:18Yeah. It was going to be a premium.
- 46:20Anyway, we were kind of mentally prepared for that.
- 46:23I was not willing to wait until the bar is closed and the
- 46:26premium would have gone down. I wasn't willing to wait at that
- 46:29point that night. Yeah, people threatening to kill
- 46:33you and then expensive drinks and rides.
- 46:36It's not how I want to spend. That was the night that we were
- 46:38doing the three dollar specials that they had, which was a Bud
- 46:42Light and a shot of Benchmark. We have a dude, that's why I'm
- 46:44saying I was so it was so bad. It was so bad.
- 46:49Oh yeah, I regret that entire night.
- 46:53Okay, so yeah. So Claire decides to head
- 46:59upstairs. Also Miss Mack arrives.
- 47:03And the girls swarm her because they have her a Christmas
- 47:06present. Yeah.
- 47:07So I Claire's going upstairs, she's packing because her dad's
- 47:09picking her up the next day and while they have all been
- 47:14downstairs, it's shown like it panned up to the access panel.
- 47:18And do is climb down wearing for Dad or no.
- 47:22Glad that you appreciate. So, proud of you.
- 47:24Thank you. I was showing off and you right
- 47:26there. So.
- 47:29Yeah, he climbs out and you can see him kind of like walking
- 47:33around upstairs and Claire's in her room.
- 47:37Claude the house cat big fucking cat.
- 47:41I don't think I've seen a cat this big listen.
- 47:44I they I don't know what they did to get.
- 47:48Get the recording of a cat meowing and then angry growling.
- 47:54Yeah, but it was effective because Scout every single time
- 47:58claude's vocals came up like zoned in on the TV.
- 48:03Like she was like, she was like, I am ready to fight you.
- 48:09So Scout had a very severe reaction to this movie, right?
- 48:12She was very sucked in at this point but she got creeped out
- 48:14later. Yes after this kill.
- 48:16She like Turned so that way she could like kind of be hidden by
- 48:20the pillow. She could still see the screen.
- 48:22If you'd like turn her head away, she didn't like she was
- 48:26into this. I'm thinking that the
- 48:27involvement of quad is like a whole way or like they made like
- 48:31they inserted a cat or a movie to for like all the cats out
- 48:35there like, hey, by the way, guys, you guys can watch this
- 48:37and enjoy. The cat is like saying obscene
- 48:39things too like and the phone like in the phone call.
- 48:43So, Scouts of what. Now, what it's like I'm going to
- 48:47kill you. She's like, y'all need to be a
- 48:49little bit more alarmed by this. I mean not only that the the cat
- 48:53gets trapped up in the attic with him.
- 48:54Like, that's terrifying. Yeah.
- 48:56So okay, you can kind of see like, the camera zooms into the
- 49:01closet. He's hiding behind one of the
- 49:03cellophane bags and she goes back there and she's kind of
- 49:07like see something. So she goes to investigate and
- 49:10then he grabs her wraps the bag around her and suffocates her.
- 49:14Yes, Very good cool. Yes.
- 49:18So while this is having nobody notices downstairs because Miss
- 49:21Mack got her a Christmas present and everybody's like having the
- 49:25time of their fucking alive. Yes.
- 49:26Absolutely. Got her an outfit like a
- 49:29housecoat? Yeah.
- 49:30I don't want. I feel like they had a reason
- 49:32behind it. But yeah.
- 49:35Miss Mack is not into it. She, she does not like the, she
- 49:39seems offended that they thought she would like that, but I'm
- 49:42like, girl, have you seen the hats?
- 49:44You were going to wear for the rest of this movie?
- 49:46You You have bad taste? Yeah, yeah.
- 49:49They're doing you a favor. So yeah, Billy goes back up into
- 49:54the attic and Miss Mack. Sneaks bookshelf booze.
- 49:59Yeah. Be from books.
- 50:01Be for booze. And she says, this is what she
- 50:05said for books. Okay, we got a call from Peter
- 50:13to Jess. She's like, I really need to
- 50:17talk to you. He was like, well, we can talk
- 50:19she's like, no it needs to be face-to-face and He was like,
- 50:21well, I've been rehearsing non-stop for the past three
- 50:24days. So I'm pretty fucking tired by.
- 50:27Yeah, he didn't come to the party because, yeah, he's been
- 50:31practicing for a recital and then he's like, I love you and
- 50:33she says, I know, and then, you know, shits bad.
- 50:38If that's the response you get. So mrs.
- 50:41Mac is brushing her teeth. Midway through brushing decides.
- 50:47She needs more Sherry. And this is where she pulls out.
- 50:50Her toilet bottle little drinky-poo.
- 50:52There's so much about this. This upsetting.
- 50:55Yeah. Well for one the in the middle
- 50:58brushing her fucking teeth. She's using it as mouthwash.
- 51:02She like puts it in her mouth and that's not the type of
- 51:05alcohol that you're going for here.
- 51:07Like that's not yeah. So she swishes it around.
- 51:10Yeah and we get the shot of Cuervo.
- 51:15Are upstairs with the bag around here in the rocking chair and
- 51:20you can kind of see from the attic because everybody's
- 51:22leaving the parties disbanding. Yeah, we cut to the next day and
- 51:27Claire's dad is just waiting by waiting for her sad.
- 51:30Dad and sad Dad. Yeah, I just like, I feel so sad
- 51:34for him and then he like, berates a college kid because he
- 51:38hit him in the face with a snowball.
- 51:41Did you miss that? It wasn't the guy that he was
- 51:44talking to that. Hit him in the face.
- 51:45He's like sorry. I guess I should have been
- 51:46paying more attention to them because yeah, well, I should
- 51:49say. So she, they got some fucking
- 51:51sense. Sorry.
- 51:52I mean like storms off. Well no, before before he does
- 51:56mr. Harrison's.
- 51:57Like hey, do you happen to know my daughter?
- 51:59Claire Harrison and somehow this kids like, oh, actually yeah,
- 52:04yeah, she was in the sorority isn't impressive that they
- 52:08actually use real sorority and fraternity.
- 52:11Any names in this movie. Yeah.
- 52:13Like you are not supposed. Maybe it was before they made
- 52:15that rule, but I know that you can't use actual names anymore.
- 52:20Yeah, I remember them. Specifically, like Lambda Chi
- 52:22was the one that I really am shocked.
- 52:24Because yes is during the call with Billy before and she said
- 52:27you should call the lamb, the guys all of this shit.
- 52:32So He gets to the house and he talks to mrs.
- 52:36Mac, there's a poster in her bedroom of like this old lady.
- 52:42Like it's a bunch of shots of this older lady and at the very
- 52:45end is her just like flipping off the camera.
- 52:47Oh my God. It's so I want to know more
- 52:49about this poster. I love it.
- 52:51This right here is where they injected some of the humor.
- 52:54Yes. Because it's like a there's also
- 52:56like a free love poster. Yeah, it's in Claire's room in
- 53:00like first of all, her dad is not happy.
- 53:03Be with the house anyways because while this is happening
- 53:07they're having like a little event.
- 53:09I guess I could share anything where Phil's boyfriends dressed
- 53:12as Santa and they have kids coming over to like he's
- 53:15swearing a lot in front of them. Yeah Barbra sneaking booze to
- 53:18the Head. Yeah and it's just like a lot of
- 53:22vulgar shit happening in his. He's just not happy that his
- 53:25daughters in this environment and then she's got there like
- 53:28investigating her room, there's like nude pictures, and like
- 53:32posters and stuff on there. Max tried to cover it up.
- 53:35Yeah. She's trying to say like, you
- 53:38know, your daughter's. A very good girl, which is true
- 53:40of Claire but like she like she has a minute because she's like,
- 53:47oh, hey drop me off at the event.
- 53:49And you can go to the police station, filing a report in.
- 53:53While she was in her room, getting her stuff.
- 53:55She's like, I can't control these girls.
- 53:58What what, what do you want me to do there weren't any?
- 54:00I can't help that. They're also there.
- 54:03V. Yeah, they're adults in their
- 54:07life but he overhears her like at one point and this is where
- 54:11we get into mad sad that territory because he's mad.
- 54:14Yeah, got to Jess. She tells Peter that she's
- 54:18pregnant and she's got an abortion and he's like, you
- 54:20can't kill our baby. Let's get married.
- 54:22And she's like, yes and no. How could you fucking say this
- 54:27to me? I have my recital tonight and to
- 54:30be fair, probably could have waited Other day to tell Peter
- 54:35this I think is a bad move on her part to tell him on the day
- 54:38of his big recital. All I can think of is that maybe
- 54:42she was going to be leaving town.
- 54:44It doesn't sound like it though. Well she was going to go to the
- 54:48ski lodge. We're going in like this are
- 54:50he's so I don't know, I don't know.
- 54:53I don't know if it's because she has difficulty getting ahold of
- 54:56him even when he's not rehearsing like I wish I knew
- 55:00her rationale behind it but it could just be that she's very
- 55:02anxious about it. And needed to tell him.
- 55:05Yeah, that's true. I just kind of, I will generally
- 55:07do feel bad for him in this part.
- 55:09Not because like he's very adamant about her not getting an
- 55:12abortion just because like hey like that's a really stressful
- 55:15thing. The way on me before I'm already
- 55:17having the stressful event later today.
- 55:19Yeah, but they make plans to meet at 9:00 after the recital
- 55:23and the old talk about it more. Yeah.
- 55:26So at the police station. They reporting Claire missing.
- 55:30So it's mr. Harrison Barb and Phil.
- 55:33All there. The cops are not at all phases.
- 55:37Are like yeah, maybe she ran off with her boyfriend, her
- 55:39boyfriend's, a hockey practice right now.
- 55:40Yeah. Because Canada.
- 55:44You can hear some of the Canadian Accents in this movie,
- 55:46too. Yeah, I miss my go a, at one
- 55:48point. It's like, oh yeah, this is
- 55:49Canada. Yeah, the house we say that
- 55:51there's issues with the door getting stuck, which never
- 55:54really comes up again. I thought it was going to be a
- 55:56lot more important. You would think like they were
- 55:59planning something there but not it doesn't.
- 56:01Yeah, and also Billy is called again at this point and He's
- 56:05we're kind of getting fed like very vague lines about his past.
- 56:09Like you know the whole point of this is we're like piecing it
- 56:13together but you know, something bad has happened.
- 56:15Yeah. I'm like his mind here.
- 56:16Is what your mother and I must know, is what did you do with
- 56:21the baby? Yeah.
- 56:22So Billy did something bad. Yeah, yeah, so this is where
- 56:27mrs. Mac tells just that Claire's
- 56:29missing. So just decided she's going to
- 56:31go see if Chris knows Chris. And so he ends up joining them
- 56:35in the search. He is pissed that they are not
- 56:37taking this seriously, too. Yeah.
- 56:39I like his anger. Yeah.
- 56:40He, I love it. He storms in, and he like goes
- 56:43right past Nash. The doofus surgeon at the front
- 56:46desk. He's like the epitome of shitty
- 56:48cop. Yeah, he sucks.
- 56:50And he goes straight to the lieutenant and the lieutenant
- 56:53was in the middle of talking to a mom.
- 56:54Who's 13 year old went missing? Yeah, her name was Janice.
- 56:58Yeah. And so they're like, okay cool.
- 57:00We're going to do a search party, then also Nash is like
- 57:05well, when we at least get the phone number at the sorority
- 57:08house and this is where Barb tells them that the exchange is
- 57:12fellatio. Yeah.
- 57:14It's a new one. Fe, yeah, I love the scene.
- 57:17It's so good and he buys it. He writes it down.
- 57:21Meanwhile, Peter has his recital, he was very sweaty and
- 57:25Talia hated this piano music. I can't.
- 57:28I okay, every time I listen to this, I'm like, is this what he
- 57:31was trying to play or is he just Wildly out of control because I
- 57:36had some points. It feels like this could be like
- 57:38an actually good composition for a horror movie, you know,
- 57:43because it's kind of got some weird creepiness.
- 57:44Ooh, it feels very like Zsa. Lowest maybe like it has
- 57:48structure Goblin. Shalom.
- 57:50No, it has structure but it also is going against what music
- 57:55should be. You know, like wetters.
- 57:57Huh, Jazz. Yeah, kind of.
- 58:00Yeah, but, you know, I kind of get a sense they could.
- 58:03It'd be good, but it also like you can sail from Peter.
- 58:06This is not going well and the people that are judging him are
- 58:10like bewildered. They don't know what the fuck
- 58:13they're listening to. Yeah, back at the house.
- 58:17Barb is really drunk and she talks to mr.
- 58:20Harrison about turtle sex a lot? Fucking love Barb scenes, man.
- 58:24This is so funny. And then she's like, she
- 58:27eventually has his outbursts or she's like I know you guys all
- 58:30blaming me because I wasn't making Claire.
- 58:32Phil, Phil are Welcome and feels like you're drunk.
- 58:36Go to bed. Phil was the dose of reality.
- 58:39That wasn't even the moment. Yeah.
- 58:40Sometimes somebody needs like, you're being an asshole, which I
- 58:45guess we forgot to mention before when Claire did go
- 58:47upstairs before it was kind of because Barb's kind of be
- 58:51enough. This is she wasn't taking the
- 58:53call seriously and she was kind of given queer a hard time about
- 58:55it Square was actually Claire was taking the call seriously
- 58:58and because bar wasn't taking the call.
- 58:59Seriously she also didn't take Claire serious.
- 59:01Yeah. And yeah they just kind of rub.
- 59:03Everybody the wrong way. Yeah, people probably are
- 59:06thinking she's responsible. We cut back to Peter destroying
- 59:11a piano that definitely isn't his no, there's no fucking way.
- 59:15Yeah, he's sticking to the mic. Stand to it and just bash in the
- 59:18shit. Yeah.
- 59:20Is not looking good, Peter know, you don't want to do that shit.
- 59:24Shit, pianos are expensive as fuck.
- 59:26You're in college, you can't afford that unless you have like
- 59:28a rich dad as they're heading to the search party mrs.
- 59:33Mac says, It'll probably be gone by the time they get back.
- 59:35She's headed to your sisters. I feel like she should probably
- 59:42wait until queer. The yeah yeah either the house
- 59:46mother like you are responsible for this girl like and you're
- 59:50just you're going to your sisters.
- 59:51I get that that's plans. But also like unless you're
- 59:53trying to catch a plane is she she's sickening taxi so it could
- 59:57be in town. It could be to the airport.
- 59:59I don't know. I guess that's true.
- 1:00:01So yeah she hears Claude. Add and this week, she's been
- 1:00:05trying to find him and she speaks.
- 1:00:08Like, who's the writer of this Roy Moore?
- 1:00:11Is that his name? Something like that?
- 1:00:13Yeah, he definitely owns a cat. Oh, yeah.
- 1:00:17Because where she's like, you little bastard.
- 1:00:19I'm going to find you. I'm gonna strangle you.
- 1:00:21Do you want some food laughs? Yeah.
- 1:00:24As how we are with our cats. All the time.
- 1:00:26Everybody that has a cat talks to their cat.
- 1:00:29Yeah. Which is again why?
- 1:00:32I think Scout thought this Real dialogue right here, guys, she
- 1:00:39goes up into the attic and when she's up their cars on Claire's
- 1:00:44lap. Yes.
- 1:00:45You know what? At least quad doesn't get killed
- 1:00:47but it was still nice enough to the cat, but she's also like,
- 1:00:52how did you even get up here? Which made me think can cats
- 1:00:56climb ladders like, is that a thing that can actually happen?
- 1:01:01Remember that time Scout claims my shoe rack.
- 1:01:03Wreck like she can climb up but she can't climb down.
- 1:01:06Yeah, but a lot of Ensure X2 different things.
- 1:01:08She had mesh to like call into. Yeah.
- 1:01:11But wait cons also like twice Scout sighs.
- 1:01:13That's also true. Okay.
- 1:01:16But yeah, so she sees Claire's body and she is frozen and
- 1:01:21that's all it takes for Billy to get her turns around.
- 1:01:24He's holding a hook and it swings down and gets her right
- 1:01:26in the face. The search party they've found
- 1:01:32Janice. Yeah, unfortunately she's 13
- 1:01:35years old, she has been murdered.
- 1:01:36So do you think that it's Billy, that killed her?
- 1:01:40I think. So.
- 1:01:40I think so too. I think he murdered her on his
- 1:01:43way to the house, and then he gets there and he makes that
- 1:01:46phone call. Oh, shit.
- 1:01:47You're right. Yeah, the phone call because he
- 1:01:49just made the murder. Yeah, yep.
- 1:01:51You're right. Just gets back to the house.
- 1:01:55The phone is ringing. She answers it.
- 1:01:57And it's It's doing like baby cries and he's just killed.
- 1:02:00Mrs. Mac, I Know What You Did, filthy Billy.
- 1:02:03So she calls to report the obscene call Peters.
- 1:02:08There, he sneaks up right behind her, he does not give a fuck
- 1:02:12about the fact that Claire is missing instead he wants to just
- 1:02:15shout at Jess for like Everything that we've already
- 1:02:21talked about. He's the recitals behind him
- 1:02:25right now. He's like, very much.
- 1:02:26Like you were not killing the baby.
- 1:02:29Looks like I'm quitting. No way.
- 1:02:31This is this is later. Yeah, no wait.
- 1:02:35Now, this is my guess is. No.
- 1:02:37Yeah, because he's got the storm out.
- 1:02:38Yeah. She's trying to talk to her and
- 1:02:39she's like, can we please talk like adults and she's also at
- 1:02:42the same time, trying to make this report to this cop.
- 1:02:44And the cop is like this. Probably just one of your
- 1:02:46boyfriend's playing a joke, which if your boyfriend plays a
- 1:02:49joke, like this breakup, With him.
- 1:02:50Yeah, give me a new boyfriend. Absolutely, although I can see
- 1:02:53like her boyfriend. Kind of sucks.
- 1:02:55He might actually think this is a joke.
- 1:02:57So, so here's the funny thing. So we're supposed to like you're
- 1:03:01supposed to think, maybe it is Peter because one, like he just
- 1:03:04came from down, I go upstairs which is sketchy, you know
- 1:03:09because like Billy's been hanging out there, we got like
- 1:03:12POV shots of daily like Peep and down like he's acting like Billy
- 1:03:17right now. Um and I read also when I was
- 1:03:20Information for this. Apparently for some of his lines
- 1:03:24to kind of further reinforce that they had the guy, one of
- 1:03:28the guys that did Billy's voice on the phone actually dub at
- 1:03:32least six lines of dialogue. Oh wow!
- 1:03:35Yeah, so we do hear him through Peter occasionally.
- 1:03:39Okay. But you know it's not Peter but
- 1:03:42still like we're trying to plant that in there, so yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:46It's freaking out about it. You says, I'm leaving the
- 1:03:49conservatory. Yeah.
- 1:03:50And she's like, wow and he goes and we're getting married and
- 1:03:52she says no. Yeah.
- 1:03:55And she's like, do you remember when we first met and you said
- 1:03:57you wanted to be a concert pianist and I told you all the
- 1:03:59things I wanted to do. I still want to do those things?
- 1:04:04Yeah, and then he's like, well, you can still do everything and
- 1:04:06she's like, Peter, I'm not marrying.
- 1:04:08You like you're not the right person for me?
- 1:04:10Yes. Like I feel like she was
- 1:04:14probably gonna break up with him at some point anyway.
- 1:04:20He was not gonna last. And then like this was the nail
- 1:04:22in the coffin, like, oh fuck. We've taken it too far.
- 1:04:24I'm actually pregnant. I mean, and she told, she told
- 1:04:27him. She was like, Hey, I'm pregnant
- 1:04:28also. I'm not keeping it.
- 1:04:30Like she I mean she could have not told him.
- 1:04:32Yeah. And I said that's why I'm
- 1:04:34getting like she told him. Yeah, she let him know.
- 1:04:37Yeah. Because I mean it's her body,
- 1:04:40it's her choice but you know as like the father to like it is
- 1:04:43like it's not your choice per se but like you know it is nice to
- 1:04:47be in you deserve it. Now I think there's there are
- 1:04:51certain instances where I think it's absolutely Justified and
- 1:04:54not telling and I think the way Peter reacts I would have been,
- 1:04:58I would have thought it would have been Justified for just to
- 1:05:00have not told him Tina. Well, I don't think that she
- 1:05:02expected him to react this way. I don't know, we don't have any
- 1:05:05idea how he was before I am beforehand.
- 1:05:07The only conversation we had was he was frustrated, because,
- 1:05:10like, he was tired from practicing.
- 1:05:12Yeah, so, yeah, I mean, after how he does behave, definitely
- 1:05:17don't tell him. Yeah.
- 1:05:20So, back at the station, the lieutenant learns, that all of
- 1:05:25these, obscene phone calls are happening at the sorority house
- 1:05:28that the missing person is from on the same night that a
- 1:05:31murdered girl has been found in the park.
- 1:05:33He's like mash, why don't you fucking say anything?
- 1:05:35Because I didn't want to bother you and he goes you didn't see a
- 1:05:37connection between any of this. Yeah.
- 1:05:39At all because she she just has on the phone with him before.
- 1:05:43So yeah, we're kind of busy here.
- 1:05:44There's a girl that was killed in the park.
- 1:05:46We're not really going to follow through with this and she hung
- 1:05:48up. Up and that shook just a little
- 1:05:50bit. But at the same time like
- 1:05:54Lieutenant Ken's like hey maybe we can connect the dots here a
- 1:05:58little bit probably need to look into this.
- 1:06:01Yeah they they go over to the sorority house to kind of do
- 1:06:07some research but they're also going to put like phone taps on
- 1:06:10their phone. I was there arriving Peter is
- 1:06:12leaving because Jesse's kicked him out because he is threatened
- 1:06:15her Yeah, and he's like I want to put a tap on the phone,
- 1:06:22please take me up to Claire's room.
- 1:06:23So there you know, doing all this stuff and there's going to
- 1:06:27be a cop stationed outside and also, Peter is still hanging
- 1:06:32around outside. Well, everybody's like, showing
- 1:06:34up at the house, he's just kind of off to the side.
- 1:06:36Just staring looking kind of menacing.
- 1:06:39Yeah. After they've all left with
- 1:06:42instructions to try and keep him on the line as long as possible.
- 1:06:46Possible. Next time he calls Phil tells
- 1:06:47clear that are tells just that she just feels that Clara's dead
- 1:06:53and she's like, I need to go to bed.
- 1:06:54I'm on these cold meds that have me completely knocked out.
- 1:06:59So Jess is just left downstairs alone.
- 1:07:02Waiting for the phone to ring, this is like, I can't I could
- 1:07:06not do this. No fucking way.
- 1:07:08I would be, like, when I get this level of anxious, I'm like,
- 1:07:11I need to either do something to distract me, or, I need to
- 1:07:14immediately, be like a Leap and unconscious to the world.
- 1:07:17Yeah. Because what do you do?
- 1:07:18So you gotta be there because Barbara's upstairs like she's
- 1:07:21drunk and passed out and then you have Phil who's also
- 1:07:24upstairs asleep. Like somebody has to be there.
- 1:07:27Yeah, so she's just sitting down there alone in the dark and
- 1:07:30quiet waiting for the phone to ring.
- 1:07:31She hears Barb upstairs, gasping and she goes up there and she
- 1:07:37gets Barber inhaler and Barbs. Like I had a nightmare, I
- 1:07:40thought there was a man in my room spoiler alert.
- 1:07:42There was a man in the room. He saw Billy Creep into her
- 1:07:46room. Yeah, I get the the glass
- 1:07:48unicorn. Yeah, so just helps her.
- 1:07:51And then she, you know, she leaves because some carolers
- 1:07:57have arrived and Jess is giving off all of the body language of
- 1:08:03somebody who does not want to listen to 10 year olds sing to
- 1:08:06her, okay? Like listen, man, this is a
- 1:08:11whole little group of kids, right?
- 1:08:15Where the fuck are their parents?
- 1:08:16There was a 13 year old found dead.
- 1:08:19I get small town vibes from this place.
- 1:08:21Like, absolutely everybody knows about the say I've search
- 1:08:24parties like this is public knowledge.
- 1:08:26Now this is like breaking news. Everybody knows it don't let
- 1:08:29your fucking kids wander around, caroling A stranger's house and
- 1:08:31here's the thing, I think the news broke as they were out
- 1:08:33caroling because what happens is the other adult supervisor tells
- 1:08:37the one that's with them. Like we need to get them all in
- 1:08:39the van and leave now. Okay.
- 1:08:40Yeah. And then the phone's ringing and
- 1:08:43she's like, hey going through your phone.
- 1:08:45Meanwhile, while all of those noises been happening, Barb has
- 1:08:48been stabbed with her glass unicorn.
- 1:08:50Yeah, yeah. So they're trying to trace the
- 1:08:54call as it comes through the collar repeats.
- 1:08:57Something that Peter said to Jess how she you know referred
- 1:09:01to getting the abortion was you know, he said that it was very
- 1:09:05cold. It was like she was talking
- 1:09:06about getting a were removed. Yeah.
- 1:09:08And Billy is a sign like getting a wart removed and that freaks
- 1:09:11her out and she hangs up. And then Lieutenant the
- 1:09:14lieutenant cross back and He's like what did he say?
- 1:09:16Anything that alarmed you and she's like no and I'm screaming
- 1:09:21at the TV you need to say that because most likely scenario
- 1:09:26would be that it's Peter. Yeah, it's signs are pointing to
- 1:09:28Peter here but even if it's not peter than it is the actual
- 1:09:33scenario of its somebody that is within hearing distance of your
- 1:09:38conversations, it's fucking creepy.
- 1:09:41Yes. Is a really chilling wine.
- 1:09:43Yes. So yeah, they tell them like her
- 1:09:48to tell her. You got to keep him on the line
- 1:09:50longer like you. I don't know how long it's got
- 1:09:52to be, but he's got to be on the line for a long time because
- 1:09:55like these scenes of the guy that's tracking it down, I don't
- 1:09:58know what the fuck he's doing. He's running around to like all
- 1:10:01kinds of different computers. So like flip switches, I'd how
- 1:10:04is this really? What goes into tracking a phone
- 1:10:07call? I don't think so anymore.
- 1:10:09I don't know what a switchboard looked like, I don't, it's a
- 1:10:12lot. Wow.
- 1:10:12I mean it's intense. Yeah.
- 1:10:15It seems like back in the day tracing a call was a or gout,
- 1:10:19they did not go into this with When a Stranger Calls, know,
- 1:10:22when a stranger calls. She's like keeps him on the line
- 1:10:25for 30 seconds. And that's enough.
- 1:10:26Is this, before When a Stranger Calls?
- 1:10:28Yes. I like five years.
- 1:10:29I looked it up. Okay.
- 1:10:31Yeah. They're based on the same.
- 1:10:33Yeah, yeah, yeah. So Phil is awake and just voices
- 1:10:39are concerns. That she thinks it might be
- 1:10:41Peter because, you know, he repeated that line from before.
- 1:10:45And he's also being super aggressive about her decision
- 1:10:48and feels like nah. It's not Peter.
- 1:10:50Yeah. And then Peter actually calls
- 1:10:52and they decide that they're going to trace this call to
- 1:10:55which means that they heard the whole conversation flow
- 1:10:58tentacles back and is asking like why is Peter being so
- 1:11:00morbid? And then more unhinged here.
- 1:11:03Like yes, like full-on shouting. He's kind of becoming
- 1:11:06incoherent. Yes, it's getting kind of creepy
- 1:11:09and now Jesse's in a position where she has to disclose like
- 1:11:14some incredibly We personal information to the stranger and
- 1:11:18she has to do it in front of her friend.
- 1:11:19Who doesn't know anything? Yes, I get the impression.
- 1:11:22She hasn't told, anybody know, I kind of felt secondhand
- 1:11:25embarrassment for her yourself. This is so awful.
- 1:11:28And again, it comes back to issues like this are so
- 1:11:32violating not just because you're getting dismissed by the
- 1:11:36people that are supposed to be helping.
- 1:11:38You, you're being violated by the person that is violating
- 1:11:42you, but then you also have to Go into these intimate details
- 1:11:48of your life to people. You don't even really know.
- 1:11:51Yeah. And then people that you do know
- 1:11:52really well. These types of harassment and
- 1:11:57assaults are just continually violating yeah.
- 1:12:01For all of those reasons and it's it is super helpful
- 1:12:04information for them here because like they're starting to
- 1:12:07connect the dots, the Peter here.
- 1:12:09Yeah, so after he gets off the phone with just he decides to
- 1:12:13have them look into Peter. Yes, to see.
- 1:12:16You know, if there's anything fishy about this guy, a search
- 1:12:20party is still out and about, and they come by the back door
- 1:12:24in the kitchen. Scare the bejesus out of Phil
- 1:12:27and Jess and then like, as they're trying to close the door
- 1:12:30on these two strange, men, these two strange men continue to say,
- 1:12:33keep your doors locked, keep your windows locked and it's
- 1:12:35like, can you leave? You are giving off serial killer
- 1:12:38Vibes right now? Yeah, but for them, it gives
- 1:12:42them like a little bit of a moment of like it kind of gives
- 1:12:45In like a break attention because they laugh about it
- 1:12:47because he's there to guys are trying to impress, like to
- 1:12:50college girls. Yeah.
- 1:12:51You know. So they laugh about it.
- 1:12:56Phil goes upstairs. She decides to check on Barb,
- 1:12:59unfortunately, Billy is there. And he gets her.
- 1:13:01Yeah. Meanwhile Jesse's locking all
- 1:13:04the doors in the house. She gets another call.
- 1:13:06This, they do manage to trace this one, it's group 140
- 1:13:10terminal 55. I don't know how I managed to
- 1:13:12write all that down, but I did. So, When he calls that in, they
- 1:13:16learned, that that means the call is coming from six Belmont
- 1:13:19Street and the Lieutenant's like, no, that's where the calls
- 1:13:22are going to. And then he's like, yeah, that's
- 1:13:24where they're going to, but that's also where they're coming
- 1:13:26from. Ooh, I got chills saying that.
- 1:13:29It's, yeah. It's so fucking creepy and then
- 1:13:34so what he does is because he's like on the other side of Campus
- 1:13:39like figuring out, we're trying to figure out where Peter.
- 1:13:41Yeah, he's found the trashed piano.
- 1:13:44Yes. Which Each, you know, it's funny
- 1:13:46that Peter makes it sound like leaving the conservatory is his
- 1:13:49choice because there's no way. He would have an option about it
- 1:13:52once, that's fans. Yeah.
- 1:13:54So he calls lieutenant or Sergeant Nash and he's like, I
- 1:13:59need you to tell Jess To leave the house.
- 1:14:03Without alarming her do not tell her that the call is coming from
- 1:14:07inside just tell her to wait out front.
- 1:14:09Yeah and I will be there in 5 minutes.
- 1:14:11Tell her to put the phone down, walk outside the house, no
- 1:14:14questions asked. And I will be there in 5 minutes
- 1:14:17and by the way, Mash if you fuck this up, I will kill you and he
- 1:14:21has no confidence in that. Yes.
- 1:14:23So Nash calls just answers and he says, are you alone in the
- 1:14:27house? Which what, why did you, why did
- 1:14:30you start with this? Why not just say, Say hey, this
- 1:14:33is Sergeant Nash. I need you to go wait out front.
- 1:14:36All this really China is going to be there in five minutes?
- 1:14:38Just say that. Yeah, because instead she's like
- 1:14:41no I've got filling Barber here. Why what's happening?
- 1:14:44And he goes on, no, just go out front and she goes.
- 1:14:46No. But wait.
- 1:14:47Do I need to go get them? Because loosen the caller's
- 1:14:49inside the house? Yeah, the call is coming from
- 1:14:52inside the house. Yes.
- 1:14:53And that freaks her out, obviously, because she feels
- 1:14:57like she has to go upstairs to check on everybody which Yeah,
- 1:15:02that's probably like well and she starts out like, she's just
- 1:15:06really trying to get them to come down.
- 1:15:07Seriously she is. This is like one of the most
- 1:15:10effective movie screams like she's like, please answer me
- 1:15:13shouting or me up. Yes, yeah.
- 1:15:15Nobody's answering the so she goes and grabs the fire poker to
- 1:15:17go. Yes.
- 1:15:18And then she finds their body is and Billy still in that room and
- 1:15:24she slams the door in his hand and she goes and hides in the
- 1:15:29basement Peter like Like a creep is just like looking in the
- 1:15:35basement window. This is a really creepy shot of
- 1:15:37him because like how does he know why would you look in the
- 1:15:41basement? Right?
- 1:15:42Here is the thing. If there was not a spree
- 1:15:45murderer in the attic, I still 100% believe Jesse's life was in
- 1:15:51danger because Mortality rate for pregnant Folk.
- 1:15:58Is really like the mortality rate for domestic abuse is
- 1:16:02really high for pregnant. Folk that is your even more
- 1:16:05likely to die at the hands of your partner when you are
- 1:16:07pregnant and even like very creepy.
- 1:16:10He's very unhinged, he breaks the basement window.
- 1:16:14And is like, yes, it like there is he had no good intentions.
- 1:16:19Yeah. And the way that he's
- 1:16:20approaching her to like, she's very much, she's like in a
- 1:16:23self-defense, Stan. She's a board and she's like,
- 1:16:27holding the fire pit. She has kicked him out of this
- 1:16:29house already wants tonight and he's kind of like he's trying to
- 1:16:33approach her as a, hey, just like, what's the matter?
- 1:16:36What are you doing? Like very, he's staying in a way
- 1:16:40that like, very Jack. Torrance.
- 1:16:42I'm not gonna hurt you. I'm just gonna kill you, like,
- 1:16:44it's very like menacing. Yes.
- 1:16:48So will the cops arrive? They find Jess on the basement.
- 1:16:51She is in a State of Shock. And Peter is dead.
- 1:16:54Like I said, self-defense, 100%. I have no doubt that.
- 1:16:58That none of the rest of this happened.
- 1:16:59Peter still would have tried to kill her.
- 1:17:00Ya know, he would have, there's like two killers in this movie.
- 1:17:05Yes. So we got to upstairs in Jesse's
- 1:17:08room. The doctor has sedated her, her
- 1:17:10parents are on the way. They will be there in a couple
- 1:17:12hours. Chris is going to stay with her
- 1:17:14because all of their friends are dead.
- 1:17:18Yeah. And all of a sudden while
- 1:17:20everybody is there, Claire's dad starts to like go into shock or
- 1:17:25something. Yes.
- 1:17:26And they have to rush him to the hospital.
- 1:17:28So, The cops, they're like, let's follow him.
- 1:17:30Yeah, everybody leaves the house and they turn off all the
- 1:17:34lights, close the doors. Nobody has checked the attic.
- 1:17:39No, nobody has checked, the attic like shit happened in the
- 1:17:43basement. Go to the top too.
- 1:17:45So we pan through the house. It's all quiet.
- 1:17:47It's all dark. It's all silent.
- 1:17:48And we see upstairs in the Attic that they haven't checked it.
- 1:17:51The bodies are still up there. And in that way, pan, we zoom
- 1:17:55out from the house. All the cars have driven.
- 1:17:58Away Chris is still out front. Like I said at the beginning of
- 1:18:01the episode he thinks he's doing like he's just waiting for just
- 1:18:03as parents he doesn't need to sit in the room with her.
- 1:18:05Yeah, you know he's thinking he's doing the right thing and
- 1:18:09honestly they should have left a cop with her, I know, right?
- 1:18:12So, It's silent for like it's a solid 60 seconds and then we
- 1:18:18hear the phone ring. Yep.
- 1:18:20And then the credits roll, then the credits roll, and it's the
- 1:18:23entire credits, the phone's just ringing the entire time.
- 1:18:26There's no music, it's just that shot of the house.
- 1:18:29It's so fucking creepy. It's one of the best Innings, so
- 1:18:32horror movie like that and like I think about like Mia Goths
- 1:18:40unhinged smile at the end of pearl.
- 1:18:42That's good too. Yeah.
- 1:18:45By a fucking 10-minute mile monologue.
- 1:18:48That monologue has a lot of things that I got.
- 1:18:51So fucking bored during that monologue.
- 1:18:54I like, I just it was such an amazing performance.
- 1:18:57There's a good performance but maybe not the 10 minutes of
- 1:19:02that. Okay?
- 1:19:03But yeah, that's that's the movie.
- 1:19:05I'm changing one time point seven five.
- 1:19:08Okay. So what's keeping you from going
- 1:19:09full-blown 10? It's just this to me is like a
- 1:19:14As close to perfect as you can get for a movie.
- 1:19:17I'm just going with my gut here man.
- 1:19:19Okay that's fair. I'm just saying, I think.
- 1:19:21Okay so like Halloween, I give a 10.
- 1:19:23No, I think it's not nearly as heavy a watch for me.
- 1:19:27Like this is a fantastic movie but it's not something that I
- 1:19:30can just like casually him in when watch Black Christmas like
- 1:19:35yeah, it's heavy. Yeah, but it's like a good
- 1:19:38heavy. I feel like yeah.
- 1:19:39So these are subjective ratings and this.
- 1:19:42Yeah, I got says is the right rating for me.
- 1:19:44It's not like, We were how we were talking about The Shining
- 1:19:46last episode where like we can watch that for a while black
- 1:19:50Christmas. I'm ready to watch that again
- 1:19:52next year, you know. Yeah, it's just, I love it so
- 1:19:56much. Okay, I'm guessing you're
- 1:19:58leaving years at a 10. Yeah, this is like yeah, that's
- 1:20:01close to a perfect horror movies.
- 1:20:02Like I said, I don't have a change for the movie
- 1:20:05necessarily. It's just it's a really heavy
- 1:20:07topic. Are a lot of really heavy
- 1:20:09topics. Are I guess in there?
- 1:20:10It's all from filament. I get a 9.75 though.
- 1:20:13That's that's a high score. I'll get it.
- 1:20:16Greetings is that to a nine? Eight?
- 1:20:18Seven five. How did Talia feel about this
- 1:20:22one? So she was very sleepy at the
- 1:20:25beginning. And she wandered around the
- 1:20:28kitchen, she had to go out at 2925.
- 1:20:30To be fair. She's on medication.
- 1:20:31That makes her need to go potty a lot.
- 1:20:33Yeah, she did not like the piano recital at all.
- 1:20:38She knew she knew Peters Vibes. She understood him.
- 1:20:43And then when Barbra is getting murdered, she is like, having
- 1:20:46like a lot of like sleep dreams. She's like barking.
- 1:20:50Yeah, yeah. So she was really into it.
- 1:20:51I think Talia gives us a nine. All right, and so he's somebody
- 1:20:55who was kind of in and out. Yeah, she was, she went from the
- 1:21:00kitchen to my lad, to the kitchen, to the lab.
- 1:21:02She made sure that she watched the end, she ran in right at the
- 1:21:04end. I think she was shot.
- 1:21:05There was going to be an explosion, so I think she
- 1:21:07watched at least half of it. Yeah.
- 1:21:09Well, count it okay. Okay, who did you relate to?
- 1:21:14Oh, 100% Barb. I think I know why.
- 1:21:17I think, drunk, Jesse, and drunk bar would either be best of
- 1:21:21friends or Arch nemeses and there's no in-between.
- 1:21:24Okay? The reason why I think that you
- 1:21:26would go for her is the Whole waking up with asthma attack.
- 1:21:28Seen also that your inhaler. Yeah for me I don't know, man.
- 1:21:47I don't fucking know. It's hard to pick somebody in
- 1:21:49this movie. Let's just go with Let's go with
- 1:21:57Phil, all right, because I feel like Phil was kind of like
- 1:22:03you've had those moments where you've told your overlay drunk,
- 1:22:05friends. Hey, you're being an asshole
- 1:22:07right now, you need to go to bed.
- 1:22:08I have done that. Yeah, true.
- 1:22:10Yeah. And not to say, like, I don't
- 1:22:12want to like, say that I'm like, the type of guy to do that, but
- 1:22:15like, I don't know. I feel like feels just a good
- 1:22:17person. Yeah.
- 1:22:18And I think that I'm, that type of person like, you're a good
- 1:22:21guy. Thank you.
- 1:22:23Yeah, right. Yeah, although she did bail on
- 1:22:26Has to go sleep, which don't like that, but she was on
- 1:22:29medication, so, yeah, yeah. Well, it is what it is.
- 1:22:33Okay. So we have dream sequel.
- 1:22:37How do you think a sequel for this?
- 1:22:40So let's go with the layout that Bob Clark had.
- 1:22:42We have, I don't want to go that way.
- 1:22:45Okay, so let's do where you're like, just actually died.
- 1:22:49I would want. It would wanted to almost be
- 1:22:53like Anthology type SQL. So like similar kind of premise.
- 1:22:58But like a whole different cast, like not even Billy still really
- 1:23:02like. Yeah, I don't like that.
- 1:23:05I would like for it to I don't want to dive into Billy's back
- 1:23:09swear. I feel like one of the things
- 1:23:11that makes us so effective is that we know nothing about him.
- 1:23:14Yeah. Which is how it would be in real
- 1:23:15life. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:23:17Like he's just a guy that showed up and decided to pick on this
- 1:23:20group of kids. Yeah.
- 1:23:22And it's just kind of tragic maybe well.
- 1:23:28Okay, no because like I don't want to touch on Billy anymore
- 1:23:30either. I guess.
- 1:23:31So. Maybe the Anthology thing would
- 1:23:32be right. Okay.
- 1:23:35We'll go with Anthology same town.
- 1:23:39Yeah. So same town that like the one
- 1:23:41connecting character is the lieutenant.
- 1:23:43Yeah, the Lieutenant's are because he would reprise his
- 1:23:46role. Yeah and it's another Slasher.
- 1:23:51Yeah. Do you know this laughter?
- 1:23:53Okay, I don't want it to go the way that some sequels do where
- 1:23:56it becomes more procedural just because our wine connecting
- 1:23:58character is the cop. I don't want it to be too.
- 1:24:01I love a procedural TV show. Yeah, don't necessarily love
- 1:24:04that in a movie. That's why I only ever watch the
- 1:24:06first 10 minutes of When a Stranger Calls because the
- 1:24:08middle is a snoozer. Okay.
- 1:24:12How about we do like a copycat killer type of thing?
- 1:24:15Okay. Like, okay.
- 1:24:16And we don't know anything about this person either but like
- 1:24:18somebody was like reading up about this thing that happened.
- 1:24:21Like 50 years ago and they want to like they're also unhinged
- 1:24:26maybe they're recycled and go well you know so they're like
- 1:24:29all right I got to go alone and killing spree, okay?
- 1:24:32Okay. Alright so we have interviews,
- 1:24:37okay so oh wait we have a tagline for this.
- 1:24:43Oh okay let's make a tag line. Alright tagline Hmm, fuck the
- 1:25:03patriarchy. Fuck the patriarchy.
- 1:25:07Imagine black Christmas. Fuck the patriarchy like, oh,
- 1:25:10what kind of movie is this? The 2019 one?
- 1:25:13That people said they hate it. Yeah, I think people hated that
- 1:25:17because like, it's not really black Christmas now.
- 1:25:20Well, visit only by name. Yes.
- 1:25:22And there's, I know a whole lot about that.
- 1:25:25We got to unhear, okay. Okay, I'm here.
- 1:25:28All right let's see. The fuck the patriarchy.
- 1:25:29All right, cool. Yeah because I mean that it is
- 1:25:31kind of like one of the main messages of this.
- 1:25:33Yeah. This movie could have gone
- 1:25:35completely differently if they'd call the guys and like, Hey,
- 1:25:37we're getting obscene phone calls in the class went, oh
- 1:25:39shit, that's a crime. Yeah, yeah, alright, okay, so
- 1:25:49internet review. I got a one star from imdb.
- 1:25:54Oh boy, it's titled, whoop of call.
- 1:25:59This is a real letdown the movie goes on and on, but it really
- 1:26:02doesn't say much. It does have a good cast and
- 1:26:04that helps, but it makes you wonder what the hell were they
- 1:26:07thinking when they agreed to star in the snooze, it's long,
- 1:26:10it's boring. We never worn the identity of
- 1:26:13the killer of his, for his motive near the end of the
- 1:26:16movie, the guy who was nothing, but a saint is kid.
- 1:26:19Oh, what the fuck? It is nothing but a say is
- 1:26:23killed and takes the fall for the killings.
- 1:26:25But the real killer is still working about the house and they
- 1:26:28never found the one girl who was killed with the plastic bag who
- 1:26:32still sits in the Attic? Is this all a single sentence?
- 1:26:35Yeah, I was trying to make it sound run on, good thing.
- 1:26:39The police did such an intense search of the house.
- 1:26:42This is a stupid bad ending, I just pray, the Remake fixes, the
- 1:26:46stupid ending of this crapper and I hope the stars are moving
- 1:26:49from the resume. I give it the lump of coal.
- 1:26:53Okay, so this is a guy who doesn't like needs resolution.
- 1:26:57This is somebody who likes the procedural aspects.
- 1:27:00This is a nice guy. This is yeah, this is an insult.
- 1:27:03Yeah, this is somebody who is like top, contributor to the
- 1:27:08nice guy subreddit. But not like like unironically.
- 1:27:12Yeah, yeah, like he's not the contributor.
- 1:27:16Like it's like his shit is what gets crossed over there.
- 1:27:19I'm just baffled at some I could walk away from seeing Peter and
- 1:27:22be like, he was such a nice guy. He was a fucking Saint.
- 1:27:25Yeah, I got you. Kidding me, huh?
- 1:27:29Yeah. Fuck is wrong with this girl,
- 1:27:30like that taste aside. That's, that's a bad take.
- 1:27:34Like, I'm gonna let people take whatever opinion thing to take
- 1:27:37from a horror movie. Yeah.
- 1:27:38Never whole thing here but that's a bad take.
- 1:27:40If you I will not enforce that take.
- 1:27:42Yeah, yeah, definitely there's nothing valid about that.
- 1:27:46All right, let's move on to our see, ya, friends and listeners.
- 1:27:50I just want to thank everybody for contributing to this one
- 1:27:53because this has been one of the biggest turnouts for reviews for
- 1:27:57a movie that we've had. I've got a shit ton of reviews
- 1:28:00and go through here. Okay, so let's start off on
- 1:28:03Twitter, okay? So first off, we have Eric with
- 1:28:06shaken, not scared. It says what?
- 1:28:08Drove Miss Mack to hide a bottle in the toilet.
- 1:28:11Those being responsible for teen, Like Teenage / early adult
- 1:28:18and horny girls yeah, doing with people like Claire's dead too.
- 1:28:23Yeah. Why does the Caroling lady cares
- 1:28:25so much about the phone ringing inside their house because Jess
- 1:28:28is giving all the body language of somebody that doesn't want to
- 1:28:31be out there. Listening to carolers right now
- 1:28:33and she's like, I'm giving you an out.
- 1:28:35I need an out. We'll both get a now.
- 1:28:36Together questions will never have answered one black
- 1:28:39Christmas though. Haha.
- 1:28:40I think I just answered those questions there, we got answers
- 1:28:45for you. Chad says, I can't say enough
- 1:28:48good things about this film and 240 characters, I watch it every
- 1:28:52year, sometimes two or three times.
- 1:28:54So have a crush on Olivia. Hussey Chad.
- 1:28:57I feel like we need to actually talk about this movie next time.
- 1:28:59We're all together. So I feel like we tend to talk
- 1:29:01about movies that we all have different opinions on.
- 1:29:04Yeah we do that. We need to like we finally found
- 1:29:06our Common Ground. All right.
- 1:29:08Yeah yeah sure over black Christmas with anybody Jennifer
- 1:29:12says it drives me crazy. How the young woman simply
- 1:29:14doesn't bite through the Plastic bag teeth teeth.
- 1:29:17I don't know if she could have been through.
- 1:29:19I don't know if she would have had like the right amount of
- 1:29:21tension there, to actually rip their expense, dry-cleaning
- 1:29:24plastic. Yeah, it's tough material.
- 1:29:26Also, you're panicking. Yeah, you know, it's hard to
- 1:29:28react like rationally in a situation like that.
- 1:29:32We need MythBusters to do it. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:29:35Okay, because I really don't know if it would be possible or
- 1:29:39not. If you have like that adrenaline
- 1:29:43rush you might be able to do something, you might fuck up.
- 1:29:46Teeth and John process, but I think you can maybe do it maybe.
- 1:29:51All right. Joey.
- 1:29:52And because the first time I saw this movie, it blew my mind and
- 1:29:55I watched it again. The next day, the entire
- 1:29:57atmosphere of the movie is amazingly disturbing.
- 1:30:00I agree. Is fucking disturbing, sell
- 1:30:04movies for days. So ahead of its time master.
- 1:30:08So ahead of its time masterfully made and was a linchpin featured
- 1:30:13in the inspiration of the great slasher genre.
- 1:30:15Absolutely. Great female character variety.
- 1:30:18Great, variety of kills, still, so heartbreakingly relevant.
- 1:30:21Yes, absolutely 100% agree. This is a Timeless movie
- 1:30:24honestly. Sadly super Progressive for the
- 1:30:2770s. Yeah, I would say, I think the
- 1:30:29only thing that really aged it our landlines and the, the way
- 1:30:33they trace the calls. Yeah, that's probably really the
- 1:30:37only things you're right. David Kay says, I won't started
- 1:30:42a holiday conversation with. I love that.
- 1:30:44Bob Court Christmas film. With my family and they thought
- 1:30:47it was a Christmas story about five minutes later, I was not
- 1:30:49allowed to bring up Christmas movies except for die-hard.
- 1:30:55I wanted to do the same. Yeah.
- 1:30:56That almost became you'll ask me.
- 1:30:58Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:31:00They would like Travis you don't get to pick movies.
- 1:31:02Yeah. But then we watch Christmas
- 1:31:04crush with your nana and she loved that.
- 1:31:05Yeah so much better outcome than if we tried to watch this with
- 1:31:08her I've got. And now do I look man, I've got
- 1:31:11the good suggestions. I've got you covered.
- 1:31:14Bob Clark, classic here. All right.
- 1:31:16Now we're over to Instagram. Okay.
- 1:31:19First off we have creepy girly. She says.
- 1:31:21But Christmas is the mother of slashers everyone shows true
- 1:31:24fear in this. Yes absolutely.
- 1:31:27Kind of like what you were saying about Jess at the end
- 1:31:29there. Like that was true for you.
- 1:31:30Yes. Attack of the 20th.
- 1:31:33Century says proper creepy, freak me out a bit.
- 1:31:36The phone call is in particular. Yes, that's like one more Loop
- 1:31:40showing parts of this movie is the phone calls.
- 1:31:41Yeah. Taxidermy potatoes says really
- 1:31:44good movie. Thumbs up.
- 1:31:45Up cool or if a 1992 says, classic 70s film.
- 1:31:50Definitely one. I watch around the time of the
- 1:31:51year. Same.
- 1:31:54Keep safe, says, people need to stop calling this the first
- 1:31:57slasher it is, but it's no Halloween.
- 1:32:02Well, if we're being fair Texas, Chainsaw came out like, two
- 1:32:06months before this. I also feel like, you know, like
- 1:32:09you said before, John Carpenter got a lot of inspiration from
- 1:32:12this for Halloween, but I think it shares a lot of similarities
- 1:32:15to Halloween. In the way the tension is built.
- 1:32:18Whenever I was thinking to myself, like a cool Halloween
- 1:32:22movie, She would be like, what if they did one on Christmas and
- 1:32:25then I'm like, we have fucking black Christmas so I guess
- 1:32:27that's good enough for me. It's no Michael Myers.
- 1:32:30I I cannot endorse a movie called Halloween that set on
- 1:32:35Chris us. Yeah.
- 1:32:37It can fuckin happen. After all the other shit that
- 1:32:39we've had in this series also when we were buckling up, one
- 1:32:45set of niece and nephews today before leaving, we said Merry
- 1:32:48Christmas and the nephew goes happy Halloween.
- 1:32:52Yeah. I was like, okay how about Merry
- 1:32:53Christmas music? Happy Halloween.
- 1:32:55Okay, you know what? You're going to be trying to be
- 1:32:59good? Yes, uture.
- 1:33:00Can't wait to watch movies with you.
- 1:33:04All right. And there's like also shit ton
- 1:33:07of other horror movies that can be so ashes, like psycho
- 1:33:12Peeping. Tom Peeping Tom?
- 1:33:13Yeah, yeah. I would say it original /, your
- 1:33:16that put the audience and they're Killers pob.
- 1:33:19Yeah, I would say that black Christmas though.
- 1:33:22Oh, is kind of like it's where most people got the bones for
- 1:33:26slasher movies and the outline? Yeah.
- 1:33:29People kind of followed suit with that mostly.
- 1:33:31Because John Carpenter did, and then everybody's like, well, I'm
- 1:33:34making Halloween like everybody. Just want to make help me and
- 1:33:37after that. Okay, two more Michael Lee
- 1:33:41Howard says, is one of the original slashers black
- 1:33:44Christmas is a work in suspense and paranoia from the start of
- 1:33:49the film. The creepiness factor is set
- 1:33:51High. The It is perfect.
- 1:33:53The writing is up there the, with the women are powerful.
- 1:33:56Miss Mack has plenty of booze, seriously, this woman has a
- 1:33:59stockpile everywhere, A Perfect Christmas horror movie or I'm
- 1:34:03sorry Christmas horror ride 9 out of 10.
- 1:34:06All right. A little bit below us but not
- 1:34:09far off and then we have Tucker says a movie.
- 1:34:13So good. It warranted to abysmal remakes
- 1:34:18Tucker. I actually like black Christmas,
- 1:34:20the Remake and Don't think that the newest ones really a bad
- 1:34:25movie. It's not a bad news.
- 1:34:27Yeah, it's a victim of Studio interference.
- 1:34:31Yeah. So alright, that's it for a
- 1:34:34review. So, thanks everybody for
- 1:34:36participating this weekend and next week who we're getting in
- 1:34:41the New Year Spirit. Yeah.
- 1:34:44We're going to watch new year new.
- 1:34:45You, it's one that Travis and I have mentioned a few times.
- 1:34:48It's one of our favorite into the dark movies so you can find
- 1:34:51it on Hulu. Ooh.
- 1:34:52Yeah. That's the only place.
- 1:34:53Yeah. So it's called New Year New You.
- 1:34:56It's a fun. It's dead.
- 1:34:57It's definitely a Jesse type of movie.
- 1:34:59Yeah, it's a fun movie though. I recommend like New Year's
- 1:35:05doesn't really get a lot of love.
- 1:35:06Now, for whore, watch this one, like especially if you're
- 1:35:09looking for something because like, everybody's always looking
- 1:35:12for an excuse to watch a horror movie.
- 1:35:13So watch or New Year's one. Yeah.
- 1:35:15And if you want to see more New Year's themed of horror movies,
- 1:35:20you could go over to India. Go go and contribute to if your
- 1:35:25new fears Eve, which will be filming next month, not going to
- 1:35:29say how I know that, but I know that we are a field.
- 1:35:33What it is. I mean Jesse's going to be in
- 1:35:36it. Yeah yeah he did.
- 1:35:40So yeah. So go contribute to that and I'm
- 1:35:43sure we will talk about that once that's available for public
- 1:35:45consumption. Absolutely.
- 1:35:47Maybe next year December movie. So yeah, go watch this movie.
- 1:35:51It's a lot of fun. It's we were very excited that
