- Lucas: Velkommen til Episode 195 of Learn Danish with Fexingo. Luna, I hope you're ready for another fun lesson today. Luna: I'm so ready. Last episode we talked about temperature, and I was freezing just thinking about it. Let's talk about something warm — like going out to eat? Lucas: Perfect. Today we're learning how to make a restaurant reservation in Danish. You'll be able to book a table like a local. Luna: Oh, that's exactly what I need. I've been wanting to try that new place downtown, but I never know what to say. Lucas: First phrase: 'Jeg vil gerne booke et bord.' That means 'I would like to book a table.' Let's say it together. Luna: Jeg vil gerne booke et bord. Lucas: Yes. 'Jeg vil gerne' is 'I would like to', and 'booke et bord' is 'book a table'. Say it once more. Luna: Jeg vil gerne booke et bord. Lucas: Good. Now, if you're booking for two people, you say 'Til to personer, tak.' That's 'For two people, please.' Luna: Til to personer, tak. Lucas: Exactly. And if you want a specific time and day, you can say 'I aften, klokken syv.' That's 'This evening, at seven o'clock.' Luna: I aften, klokken syv. Lucas: Great. And then you'll need to give your name. 'Jeg hedder' followed by your name. For example, 'Jeg hedder Luna.' Luna: Jeg hedder Luna. Lucas: Perfect. And if you have a preference, like a window seat, you can ask 'Kan vi få et bord ved vinduet?' That's 'Can we get a table by the window?' Luna: Kan vi få et bord ved vinduet? Oh, that's a good one. Lucas: Let's put it all together. Imagine you're calling the restaurant. What do you say? Luna: Jeg vil gerne booke et bord. Til to personer, tak. I aften, klokken syv. Jeg hedder Luna. Kan vi få et bord ved vinduet? Lucas: Fantastic. You sound like a native. Now, let's practice a mini-scene. I'll be the restaurant host. You call and make a reservation. Luna: Okay. Hello, Jeg vil gerne booke et bord. Lucas: Selvfølgelig. Til hvor mange? Luna: Til to personer, tak. Lucas: Hvornår? Luna: I aften, klokken syv. Lucas: Dit navn? Luna: Jeg hedder Luna. Lucas: Noget andet? Luna: Kan vi få et bord ved vinduet? Lucas: Det kan vi godt arrangere. Fantastisk! You did it. Luna: Oh, that feels so good. I can actually do this.
