- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Malay with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 153 already. Can you believe it? Lucas: I know. Today we're going to have a little fun with colours. Remember we learned purple and grey a couple of episodes ago? Luna: Oh yes. Purple is ungu, and grey is kelabu. But I still mix them up sometimes. Lucas: That's totally normal. Repetition is the key. So let's start with ungu. Say it after me: ungu. Luna: Ungu. Lucas: Perfect. Ungu. Now kelabu. Kelabu. Luna: Kelabu. Lucas: Great. Now let's put them in simple sentences. Bunga itu ungu. That flower is purple. Luna: Bunga itu ungu. I love that. So what about grey? Awan itu kelabu? The cloud is grey? Lucas: Exactly. Awan itu kelabu. You got it. Luna: Awan itu kelabu. Nice. I can imagine a grey sky. Lucas: Yeah. So let's practice a bit. I'll say the English, you say the Malay. Ready? Luna: Ready. Lucas: Purple. Luna: Ungu. Lucas: Grey. Luna: Kelabu. Lucas: The flower is purple. Luna: Bunga itu ungu. Lucas: The cloud is grey. Luna: Awan itu kelabu. Lucas: You're doing great. Now let's try it the other way. I'll say Malay, you translate. Luna: Okay. Lucas: Ungu. Luna: Purple. Lucas: Kelabu. Luna: Grey. Lucas: Bunga itu ungu. Luna: The flower is purple. Lucas: Awan itu kelabu. Luna: The cloud is grey. Lucas: Awesome. I think I've got it now. Lucas: Let's do one more round. Repeat after me: ungu. Luna: Ungu. Lucas: Kelabu. Luna: Kelabu. Lucas: Bunga itu ungu. Luna: Bunga itu ungu. Lucas: Awan itu kelabu. Luna: Awan itu kelabu. Lucas: Perfect. Now you can describe these two colours in Malay. Practice by looking around and naming things that are purple or grey. Luna: Good idea. I'll start with my phone case. It's grey. Kelabu. Lucas: Nice. And my notebook is purple. Ungu. Luna: See you next time. Keep practicing. Lucas: Bye bye.
