- 4:59Of you that are. Watching this so just check the
- 5:01links and you'll find it all right so.
- 5:07Gosh, this this this week. 'S podcast episode is going to
- 5:10be kind of it's deep, deep like a well, if you will.
- 5:23And this would actually. Probably be a good.
- 5:27You know. It's probably be a good.
- 5:34Podcast to, you know, open up to other other things, other topics
- 5:41other. Bits about what?
- 5:45I'm going to be talking about today.
- 5:46So we're talking today about luck and what that means from a
- 5:52heathen's worldview or a heathen.
- 5:55Perspective. But it's it's such a, a deep
- 5:58subject or a deep topic. You know, you, you really can't.
- 6:03You can't. Thoroughly capture all of what?
- 6:07We're talking about. With.
- 6:10Luck in just one podcast or even just one conversation, I think,
- 6:15you know, you could get a bunch of heathens together in a room
- 6:17and, and, and talking about this and and.
- 6:20Revisit the topic. Again and again, and probably
- 6:23not cover all of the same things when you're talking about it.
- 6:27And why is? That it's It's because the the
- 6:31the. The thing about luck from a
- 6:33heathen perspective? Is.
- 6:36That, you know, there's really not just one word or one.
- 6:39Way to describe it. It's.
- 6:42There's, it's nuanced and it's multifaceted and there's so much
- 6:46that that kind of covers what I mean and what is meant by the
- 6:53term luck. So if you want to try and, and
- 6:59quantify it or, or, you know, say anything about it to, to, to
- 7:05somebody who doesn't know what we're talking about, you almost
- 7:10got to go all right. Well, where do I start?
- 7:11You know. Where do we start with this?
- 7:16And I don't know, I don't know why it came into my brain or
- 7:22into my heart to, you know, want to talk.
- 7:26About luck this week, but it. Did and as always, you know,
- 7:33I'm, I'm anxious and kind of curious.
- 7:34To hear what people's. Thoughts or ideas on it?
- 7:38It's always interesting to hear different, you know, different
- 7:40perspectives and how much of what we know ties into what we
- 7:47feel. You know when I say what we know
- 7:49what I mean by. That is, you know.
- 7:52Scholarly sources, academic sources, things about this type
- 7:56of concept, of this type of thing that have been studied.
- 8:00By. You know academics and those in
- 8:04the. Scholarly fields.
- 8:08So you know if if that's your angle, if that's where.
- 8:10You like to go. When it comes to.
- 8:12Research and you really like to have, you know, historical
- 8:18historically rooted. Things then I would.
- 8:24Suggest that you start. Probably with or definitely.
- 8:29If not starting that, you would definitely include the culture
- 8:32of the tootens. By by Vilhelm.
- 8:34Groenbeck link for that will be in the description and show
- 8:39notes Paul Bauschitz. The well in the tree is
- 8:45definitely also. Another good source because
- 8:47because you know these authors these.
- 8:49These folks, these men have have taken time to really explore the
- 8:55complexities of Germanic ethics, morals, world views of of pre
- 9:01Christian. Peoples of the pre Christian.
- 9:03Germanic peoples, so, so much of their information that they've
- 9:08written in these. Books is is is is well
- 9:11researched so I would I would definitely suggest that.
- 9:17If you're if you're wanting to explore, really get into the
- 9:20meat and potatoes of things that can't.
- 9:22Really be covered in depth. Or greatly on a podcast over an
- 9:27hour. Or so that.
- 9:28You invest the time to learn more about it in your own time.
- 9:35So there's a couple of sources that you can start with and
- 9:37then, you know, look up other things and, and find other
- 9:40things. I can't, you know, speak for
- 9:42everything out there, but I mean, my, my kind of view on
- 9:45things are that, you know, whatever you research.
- 9:49Whatever you read, whatever you. Learn about it's going to mean
- 9:52to be knowledge that you can. Add to your.
- 9:58Repertoire or you know, things that you are going to learn
- 10:00about that can either be useful or things that you're going to
- 10:03learn about that are going, wow, this is absolutely nothing that
- 10:06that. Serves a purpose.
- 10:07For me or it's it's. Way out in left.
- 10:08Field and I'll steer away from that, but.
- 10:10At the very least, it's. Still something that you're
- 10:12learning and that's, you know. That's that's that's part of.
- 10:17Learning it's you know you're not always going to.
- 10:20Get. Or end up with the the gems are
- 10:24the goods sometimes. You got to dig through.
- 10:25The dirt and and siphon through the siphon through the garbage
- 10:29before you find the gems you know but so any who you know
- 10:36breaking down. Luck I I feel that.
- 10:43We know enough about this concept most you know pre
- 10:48Christian Germanic. People that were still.
- 10:51Pagan that we're still heathen, that luck was was something that
- 10:56again, was complex, that encompassed a lot of different
- 10:58things in different ways, but that it was very strongly tied
- 11:03to ancestry and also what the family had down through their
- 11:12ancestral line that was passed to them through the primal layer
- 11:19or the laying down from previous generations.
- 11:24Of what we will refer. To and what we know of as.
- 11:27Orle or orlog so orle. Is this the old Saxon word?
- 11:32And and you see it in Old English too, but it's ORLAE and
- 11:37then G at the end, but. The G is is is.
- 11:39Pronounced more like AY in those ways.
- 11:42So orle is that is that primal? Layer of of of the.
- 11:48Family's everything. You know every all.
- 11:51The the deeds, all the the. The characteristics, everything
- 11:57of spirit, I think. Would probably be a good.
- 11:59If you want to, you know, if you're having a hard time
- 12:03finding a similarity in in Germanic terms, you know that.
- 12:07The orlay is is that. Everything that was passed down
- 12:10from previous generations that we inherit and luck is found in
- 12:16that. And luck is is passed down to us
- 12:18through that, through those primal layers.
- 12:22Luck is not something that is inherently good or bad.
- 12:27It is all of it. It can be good sometimes it can
- 12:30be bad, sometimes there are things that can be done.
- 12:34I believe that are. Ways to strengthen luck.
- 12:39To build up the luck. And there are also things that
- 12:43can be done to weaken it or diminish it and.
- 12:52So. In addition to that, there is
- 12:55different layers or levels of luck, you know like.
- 12:59The luck of. The luck of a king, let's say at
- 13:03a time, would not be measured up against to the same as.
- 13:08The luck. Of the thralls, you know,
- 13:12because they're they're again what?
- 13:14Was was passed? To the King and and through his
- 13:17line is much different than that one which was passed down to
- 13:22the, you know, to the. To the other societal.
- 13:26Or economic classes of people you know.
- 13:29And I think even in now and today we we can agree.
- 13:33That that. Not everyone comes into this
- 13:39world with the same luck, you know, with the same success,
- 13:43with the same degree of accomplishments, you know,
- 13:49different, different. Levels or or degrees of luck?
- 13:55Come down through depending on where you've come from.
- 14:00And it's also not one of those things that is the end all.
- 14:07Be all to a. To A to a person's life, you
- 14:10know. Just because.
- 14:12One person might have been, you know, coming from a family or
- 14:18coming from a line that. That whose luck is lesser.
- 14:22Or or weaker perhaps, than those of another is not destined to be
- 14:28weak forever. There are things that a person
- 14:31can do, and there are ways that people can conduct themselves to
- 14:35to strengthen the luck and to. Improve it for the future.
- 14:39You know, generations for their descendants, you know, so it's
- 14:42it's kind of like a a hand you're dealt, but it's not a
- 14:45hand that you have to be stuck playing.
- 14:47You can change the cards out. You can be re dealt.
- 14:52Not all of the things, I mean some of the things you are
- 14:55obviously stuck with. It's it's, you know,
- 15:01characteristics and, and and whatnot, but your, your own
- 15:07behavior, your own ways, your own luck is, is something that
- 15:10you grow with and and. It grows with you and.
- 15:14The things that we do or don't do impact the strength of our
- 15:20individual luck. So as we travel through.
- 15:25Life and as the things that we do are, are being conducted, you
- 15:29know, with our day-to-day lives, our decisions.
- 15:31Our choices. You know, these are all things
- 15:34that are ultimately being added to our.
- 15:40To that, to that, to that orlay and.
- 15:44It becomes another layer that are again, our descendants and
- 15:49future generations who we're connected with and tied through
- 15:56receive, you know, and it's interesting that, you know, we,
- 16:01we, we think of this interaction, we think of this.
- 16:03Behavior as as. As things that we're doing as,
- 16:06as tying our, you know, tying our.
- 16:09Our. Threads together inner
- 16:10interweaving our relationships and that's that's a lot of times
- 16:14how it it plays out and it's it's no surprise to me to.
- 16:17To to to see that. You know these these terms,
- 16:20these words get used to describe much other many other things in
- 16:27in Germanic Pagan beliefs. You know you have.
- 16:29The web. The Web of Weird.
- 16:33Individual weird that individuals have and then you
- 16:37have. This this larger tapestry.
- 16:40Of that is. All of us.
- 16:42Weaving individual our individual threads and in in
- 16:45becoming intertwined and interconnected.
- 16:49You know, So what 1 what? One person's actions.
- 16:55Do for that. One thing in that one place that
- 16:59one moment in time have a lasting impact.
- 17:02Or or. Will have an impact later on
- 17:05down the line. May take a little while, may not
- 17:09happen right away. But it will have.
- 17:13An impact and it can. So that's why it's so important
- 17:17for SSD. Then when we think about the
- 17:18things that we're doing, is, is is not for.
- 17:24The idea of or the. Sense of some kind of eternal
- 17:28reward after death, but more. So that we have lived a good.
- 17:34Life we have done good and honorable things, our luck is
- 17:37strong and that once our once once our time once our.
- 17:43Physical body is has expired. And once once that time and
- 17:48weird has been reached. Because it's it's there for
- 17:52everybody. Every individual.
- 17:54Every man, woman, child. Everybody has had.
- 17:56That moment in time, woven into their weird.
- 17:59To die for their physical bodies to die.
- 18:05But that luck. Doesn't die with us that that
- 18:07luck can be passed down, can go to our descendants and and or to
- 18:16those again who have become interwoven into.
- 18:18Our our tapestry. And then have that connection
- 18:22that way. So the the this this this this.
- 18:27Luck, you know, we want it to be strong, our individual.
- 18:33Luck if you look at. Some of the of the like more the
- 18:36Norse side of things or Scandinavian heathenry.
- 18:42Norse heathenry you'll hear terms called like Haminga.
- 18:46The the term Haminga is a is a. Word for luck.
- 18:50Or as a word that means. The luck of a.
- 18:52Person that is a form of the person's.
- 18:55Self it is. It is part of the self, part of
- 18:58the soul. You know, a piece of a person's
- 19:02soul. That sort of is a.
- 19:07Again, it goes with them and it also can be loaned out or or
- 19:11borrowed. You know, if, if, if a person
- 19:13wants to give someone their luck or dole it out, you know we we
- 19:18see sometimes like a king will will often times wish their
- 19:23luck. To to go with this.
- 19:25Person that or another and it. Was it was a big deal?
- 19:28Because the King's luck was so strong and you know, wow, you
- 19:31know, if, if, if the King's going to do this.
- 19:32And then I. Will surely be victorious.
- 19:34Or, you know, accomplish these great things.
- 19:39So this this Haminga? This this this.
- 19:42Part of the soul complex of of of heathens.
- 19:45Is directly tied to. To luck, you know, it's not a
- 19:48happenstance, it's not a by chance, it's not a, you know,
- 19:52roll the dice, maybe I'll get lucky thing.
- 19:55It's it's it's, it's very much different than than what a
- 19:59modern. View of the.
- 20:02Word might be a modern English take on the word might be
- 20:07because that's what most people think of when they think of luck
- 20:10in in in a modern English application, the word in modern
- 20:14English you know to be lucky is, you know, fortunate you know to
- 20:17have fortune on your. Side to be, you know.
- 20:20Chance, you know, fate is is is on your side when you have good
- 20:26luck. But it's it's, it's much
- 20:31different than that. For, for, for.
- 20:33Heathens, you know, luck is something that is inherited and
- 20:36it's again, it's not inherently good.
- 20:39It can be. Good as a good.
- 20:41You know, strong, powerful, mighty.
- 20:46It can also be bad. It can, you know the, the, the,
- 20:49the. The luck that is passed.
- 20:50Down to us is is again, not always always.
- 20:53Good or all good, It's. There's bad things, there's I'll
- 20:57things, and then again, there's things that can be done in and
- 21:00throughout the person's existence.
- 21:01Just like doing things that are honorable and can can strengthen
- 21:08one's luck, there are things that can be done If if done
- 21:12I'll, you know, if I'll is being done.
- 21:15If evil works are being performed, then it diminishes.
- 21:19That luck or it? Weakens it and then that
- 21:21person's, you know, their. Luck is is is weak.
- 21:28And bad things can befall them because you know you have.
- 21:33This other aspect of luck, if you will, of.
- 21:38Through a person's. Filia.
- 21:40You know they're their follower. That sort of protects.
- 21:44Them and goes before them and make sure that things are OK and
- 21:47to have strong luck you know or and or to have strong humming
- 21:51you your your humming you is strong you're.
- 21:53Protected. You're you're guarded.
- 21:54It's almost like nothing bad can happen to you.
- 21:56Whereas if it's been diminished and those aspects have been
- 22:01neglected or offended or, you know, attacked even, you might
- 22:10see, you know, cases where you know this person whose.
- 22:15Whose luck is is weak. Just can't catch a break.
- 22:18You know. They've they, they, they.
- 22:22Can't ever get a leg up. It's something's always going
- 22:24wrong there, you know, Car is always broken down, something's
- 22:26always busted in their house. They're always sick.
- 22:29You know, losing their jobs left and right.
- 22:31Can't keep a job? I don't know, like just.
- 22:34You know nobody likes them. Nobody can stand them no matter
- 22:38what they do. You know they they can't
- 22:40maintain a healthy relationship with anybody.
- 22:46They're isolated. They're alone.
- 22:50It could be that that. Person's.
- 22:52Luck is is was weak. And they haven't done anything.
- 22:57To correct. It they haven't done anything to
- 23:01engage with. The process of.
- 23:07Rebuilding that and repairing that.
- 23:14So yeah, it's, it's, it's it's, you know, to, to really get
- 23:18into. The complexities of luck you.
- 23:24You almost have to embrace the idea that you're going to need
- 23:30to learn about the the the concepts of weird and orlay and.
- 23:36The. Soul the complex nature of a
- 23:39heathen soul you know the the the main.
- 23:43Which I talked what I didn't talk about yet.
- 23:45But the the main MEGIN. Is like your your your spiritual
- 23:51power. Which can also include physical.
- 23:54Power but. It's it's strength, it's power,
- 23:57it's, you know. That that is a particularly.
- 24:01That is an Old English terms. So some of these things you know
- 24:05that you know, you get into pronunciations and words, you
- 24:09know you're going to find them more in in some sources rather
- 24:11than others. There are there are some
- 24:17similarities to the words, even though the words may not sound
- 24:21the same what they are, you know, like for example, I think
- 24:29you know in in Old English and or an old Saxon like Saxon
- 24:35heathen ring, you know. There's the Shapers.
- 24:40Which in the Norse is the Norns or the Nornier, you know what I
- 24:44mean? So different names, but
- 24:48essentially, you know, meaning the same thing.
- 24:53So, you know, you might find, you know, terms as you go
- 24:55through. Like for example, I was he
- 24:58might, he might see this or he might.
- 25:00Hear this later but. This one guy from the.
- 25:05Altido old. Saxon Heathenry group.
- 25:09You know he doesn't like the term luck.
- 25:12He'd he'd much rather. Refer to the.
- 25:19Terms that he's familiar with in in Saxon heathenry, that being
- 25:23things like mean and and and orlay.
- 25:32Because they are. It refers to more of the.
- 25:39The things that were laid down, you know, again, those primal
- 25:41layers, the things that were laid down main, of course, is
- 25:44its is its own thing, but the the orlay being that that that
- 25:47layer, that primal. Layer.
- 25:53That was. That was.
- 25:56Laid down by the shapers or the NOR near if you want to.
- 26:00Use that, the Norse equivalent. You know, there's this, there's
- 26:08this in a sense of belief of, of things being faded to be.
- 26:14So the luck portion of things like again, it's, it's not the
- 26:17same as like. He got lucky by.
- 26:19Chance, right? I don't.
- 26:21And I also don't believe that I don't.
- 26:23I don't. Particularly believe that.
- 26:28Luck is random, you know, whether fortunate or
- 26:35misfortunate. I think luck again has been laid
- 26:39down and then what happens? Is as a result of.
- 26:43The things that the Norns or shapers, whatever term you want
- 26:45to put to them, have have woven and have put down for those.
- 26:49For that person or those people. And then some of the things
- 26:52along the way are our decisions, are our choices to make will
- 27:00facilitate the outcomes. You know, we, we know we're not.
- 27:05We we are fated to to be born and we are.
- 27:07Fated to die and. And, and there's certain things
- 27:12in between that that that may be faded as well, but I feel like
- 27:15for the most. Part our our luck.
- 27:17Is our own. It we is something that we've
- 27:19inherited. And we play that.
- 27:21That hand that we're dealt. Or we we adjust.
- 27:26You know, we, we, we, we we, we we toss in a few cards and get
- 27:33some new ones by by our choices. That's how I see it.
- 27:38You know. Was I?
- 27:42Was I fated? To, you know, do a podcast in my
- 27:47mid and late 30s, going into my 40s, I.
- 27:53Don't know if it was faded. To me, I don't know if that's,
- 27:55you know, with the nor near. Or the OR the shapers.
- 28:00Wove into my thread, but I made a choice, you know, over.
- 28:05Six years ago to start the process.
- 28:07I wove my own. Thread to do that.
- 28:10And I've exercised, you know, and and worked to build up my,
- 28:19my main, my, my, my might and in this way to.
- 28:23To do this. Podcast and and and to to have
- 28:26this thing out here consistently for this long there's not a lot
- 28:33of folks that I know that are doing this still to this degree
- 28:37that. Started it either before or
- 28:40after I started. Doing it, you know, So is that
- 28:43it? Is that a?
- 28:44Is that an example? Or is that a testament of my
- 28:47main, my might, my my, my luck being strong?
- 28:51To to carry this out. And and all that maybe I don't
- 28:55know. But it is what it's.
- 28:57It's what I've. Chosen to do when it's in.
- 28:58It's what I've woven into my. Weird to carry out.
- 29:08You know. Where I where I was?
- 29:12At one point in my life to where I am now.
- 29:14Were due to choices. That I made, you know, was it
- 29:17all woven I. Don't think it was so.
- 29:20Tightly woven into my weird. I think I wove that.
- 29:24I think I wove. Those those threads.
- 29:26Into my, into my. Weird.
- 29:28I think the basic line from from point A to point B.
- 29:31Birth to death or whatever. Was already there and then I'm
- 29:35going along the way and it's what are you going to do now?
- 29:37You know, are you going to, are you going to weave over here,
- 29:41you know, weave over there? You know, what are you going to
- 29:44do? And hopefully I like to, you
- 29:48know, I like to to. See, you know and I do I see
- 29:50along the way, you know, there were there were sometimes where.
- 29:52The threads that I wove. Were were not good.
- 29:56It's part of the learning process.
- 29:59I I. I take a very conscious approach
- 30:02now to really try hard to to weave strong threads.
- 30:11I want my luck to be strong because I want that luck to be
- 30:14transferred to my kin, my family, my descendants when I'm
- 30:19not here anymore. Even though I may not have any
- 30:21birth children or, you know, have sired any, any children, I
- 30:27do have plenty of young people who have been woven into the
- 30:32tapestry of my weird as well. And, you know, we've, we've
- 30:36become intertwined that I want them.
- 30:41To, to, to have. Good and strong luck.
- 30:44You know when I wish them well, when I when I send them forth to
- 30:50do things, I want my luck to go with them so that they are.
- 30:53Successful so that they have. Good luck with them.
- 30:58To to achieve. What they want to achieve and
- 31:03whether or not they. See it that way?
- 31:05That's how I see it and that's that's.
- 31:08Why I do? What I do, and that's why I aim
- 31:10to do the way I do it, it's, it's kind of, it's woven into
- 31:14my. Threads it's it's.
- 31:15Part of my ancestral beliefs, however far back down the line
- 31:22you want to get. That's where it's been so.
- 31:29And that and that goes back to one of the key things about luck
- 31:36is that according to Grown Beck, you know.
- 31:38Luck is the life. Of the clan, I'm telling you, if
- 31:42you if you want to really just get into the.
- 31:46To the real deep good. Stuff about it, you know,
- 31:49Culture of the Tootens volumes one and two, I think, I think.
- 31:56You really start getting he's. Really starts getting into it.
- 31:58Groenbeck does around, you know, chapter 5, maybe a little bit
- 32:04before. But there's a lot.
- 32:08In here, you know. That that, that that covers
- 32:13luck. And it's complex nuances.
- 32:17You know, there's going to be a few other things to like how
- 32:24luck is manifested, items that can carry strong luck or be
- 32:32considered lucky. You know, a certain familial
- 32:37heirlooms and things again, luck being the life of the clan, the
- 32:41life of the family it is it is heavily tied in with the family
- 32:49line and you know that's. Such a that's such a.
- 32:55It's such a beautiful thing. That that that exists.
- 32:58In Heathenry, but that unfortunately.
- 33:03Over the. Years and over time, it's it's
- 33:05it's it's something that's kind of gotten forgotten, I don't
- 33:07want to say. Lost but maybe misplaced and
- 33:10hopefully. He's being, you know,
- 33:12resurrected and and and brought back.
- 33:14To brought back to light because it is it, it is, it is.
- 33:20So deeply woven into the fabric of the family's.
- 33:24Weird luck. Is, I mean, you know, and it and
- 33:31it was something that was lost when when when heathenry began,
- 33:34began to be eradicated and then was dying out across across
- 33:41Northern Europe. But yeah, there's the, you know.
- 33:50I think that's. Why?
- 33:51You know, Like if you look in my background, you know.
- 33:54There's there's, there's always. Some things here that you'll see
- 33:57kind of displayed in my backdrop, you know, there
- 34:00there's various things that. To anybody else, just be like,
- 34:06well, that. Looks cool, you know, or that's
- 34:07neat, you know, but. They have.
- 34:09They have. Power to them to you know, there
- 34:12there's. Been they're there, they have.
- 34:17Their own main, their own spiritual power.
- 34:20Their own. Source of power.
- 34:25That have been used in rituals and ceremonies and and and
- 34:28things to to enhance the luck of not just the individual.
- 34:35But of the people that were gathered together.
- 34:37In that collective, you know. To experience that luck
- 34:44together. I'm going to believe.
- 34:47It's also. One of the main, you know, let's
- 34:52say reasons why, but but. It's also one of the.
- 34:54Big things. Why?
- 34:55Why? Ancestral?
- 34:57Ancestral Veneration. Ancestral.
- 34:59Worship is so key. You know to to Heathen Reese
- 35:04because there was a time that you know the ancestors.
- 35:12Were revered and. Then seen as powerful guardians
- 35:17of the home of the family's line of the individuals of the
- 35:21family. That's why when a lot of people
- 35:24if. If you ever have talked.
- 35:26To me through a, you know, social media message or an
- 35:30e-mail, and I've asked me about what you can do.
- 35:36For like luck. With an endeavor or you want a
- 35:43good outcome for something you know a.
- 35:47Lot of people will ask. Well, you know, what can I
- 35:49sacrifice? Who can I?
- 35:50Sacrifice to what? What can I do?
- 35:53You know, and they think of the gods and you know, a lot of
- 35:58times my answer. Is is.
- 36:00What about your ancestors? You know what have you.
- 36:03How have you gifted to? Them.
- 36:07How have you acknowledged them? Because they're the ones that
- 36:12are your guardians. They're the ones that that can
- 36:14impart their. Their luck.
- 36:15Their. Their.
- 36:16Their. Main, you know.
- 36:18Through orlay to you. It's there for you to receive
- 36:24like it's you. Inherited it.
- 36:25It's your inheritance. It's your birthright.
- 36:30And so if we're not? Taking care to.
- 36:35Revere those ancestors and to to make them an important.
- 36:38Part of our practices, our daily.
- 36:41Practices, our observations, our acknowledgments.
- 36:44You know, if we're not doing that, then.
- 36:48Is that is that a slight? To them.
- 36:50And is that in a way weakening our luck, diminishing our luck,
- 36:56you know, not giving them the proper attention?
- 37:03That they deserve as our guardians, as our protectors.
- 37:10You know, and it's not all, I mean look like it's not all
- 37:12ancestors. Some ancestors just don't.
- 37:15Deserve. That they don't, they don't,
- 37:16they don't have a place, you know, there's not a place for
- 37:23them, but the ones that you do, the ones that are there and
- 37:27don't forget, you know, ancestors can be more than just
- 37:29your blood kin. I you know, I have had a number
- 37:36of. People that have passed away.
- 37:41You know that have that have. Shed their their their physical.
- 37:44Form. That were a key part.
- 37:49Of my upbringing that weren't necessarily related to me by
- 37:52blood, you know? But because our fabrics of of
- 37:58weird. Were interwoven, you know, they
- 38:01were like kin and we were like kin.
- 38:03So, so much of the way the family dynamic is nowadays, you
- 38:07know, with families being. Displaced for for.
- 38:10Various reasons, whether it's, you know, relationships
- 38:15dissolving deaths, you know, whatever other people that come
- 38:23in and fill those gaps, fill in those roles to be that nurturer.
- 38:28That that guy, that. That for the for those young
- 38:30people, you know, they become again, we it's becoming
- 38:33interwoven, you know, into, into each other's weird.
- 38:40So in time and as time goes on, whether or not they were.
- 38:45Related at first they. Become such because they've been
- 38:48grafted into that tree by by by tying those threads together.
- 38:56So that's my answer all the time is is you know, OK, don't you
- 38:59know it's fine. You know, you want to think of
- 39:01the gods and then and what gifts you can give to the gods.
- 39:03That's important. Yes, it is.
- 39:05But what are you doing for your ancestors?
- 39:07And and and because they're ready, they're there.
- 39:09They they want. To they're like.
- 39:10I want to be a part of this. I want to help, you know?
- 39:13And they can and they do. But I'm just trying to think of
- 39:26anything else that might ring a bell for me.
- 39:29Like I said, this is this is going to be something that I'd
- 39:31probably come back to over the next.
- 39:35I mean, I don't know, maybe over the next.
- 39:37Few episodes at. Least because, again, like we.
- 39:40Could we could dedicate episodes about luck about weird about
- 39:45orlay about? Mean about the soul, you know,
- 39:50I, I mean, I've done, I've done videos and it's been years, you
- 39:52know, since I've done, you know, the soul complex and, and, and
- 39:55stuff and I think I've even done some.
- 39:56Podcasts about it I. Don't know you might have to do
- 39:58some some digging to find it and if I can find anything I will
- 40:01but some of that. Stuff you know is.
- 40:03Is dated for me and I want to revisit it again, but yeah,
- 40:11this. Is this is this?
- 40:12Is like its own little mini series I feel.
- 40:15Because it is such a, it is such a deep subject.
- 40:20You know, and I, I don't want to do it justice.
- 40:25It's you know, it's not everything.
- 40:28You know, you can't, you can't summarize this into into just
- 40:31one one podcast, I feel. I think it would.
- 40:34Be a great thing to just go into some more, some more topics and
- 40:38and and fill in some more. Gaps with it.
- 40:46So yeah, I think that'll. Be that'll be it for today it
- 40:49it's. Kind of a a lighter episode, so
- 40:52something to ease yourself into for maybe the next few ones.
- 40:57So, and I'm also interested to again, you know what what you
- 41:01all think and if and if this is a.
- 41:03Topic that that really piques. Your interest and you'd.
- 41:05Like to, to, to talk. With me going forward about
- 41:08this, I invite you. Yeah, definitely.
- 41:11Please e-mail me, let me know. What particularly about these

- 41:30Like I said, over the next few weeks, it'll probably be stuff
- 41:32pertaining to this. So definitely Heathenry
- 41:39advanced, let's say intermediate to advanced stuff come to the.
- 41:44Table with sources if you. Got them when it comes to stuff
- 41:48like this. And yeah, let's see what we can
- 41:52find out more about. The complexities of luck.
- 41:55Shaping it again. I'm I'm, I'm I'm firmly in the.
- 41:59Belief that we do shape our luck.
- 42:02Things that we are given, things that we inherit, is a kind of a
- 42:06launching off point. It's a starting point, but just
- 42:10because it's what we've been dealt doesn't mean that's what.
- 42:12We're stuck with. If we want to change it, we can
- 42:16change it. So that'll do it for this
- 42:21week's. Episode I hope you all enjoyed
- 42:23it and I hope. That you will.
