- 0:00Speaker 1: Shuie's wildlife and a start line burnout. How else do
- 0:05Speaker 1: we describe the Australian Grand Prix at Philip Island. Well,
- 0:08Speaker 1: i'm your host, Rinita Vanmullen, and of course we have
- 0:12Speaker 1: our very own Moto GP Dundee Matt Clayton, Matt, how
- 0:17Speaker 1: are ya? How was your Philip Island Moto GP experience?
- 0:21Speaker 2: It's funny, Brude, when you go through that intro, it
- 0:24Speaker 2: suddenly struck me that there were about fifteen completely bizarre
- 0:28Speaker 2: things that happened over the course of the weekend, from
- 0:31Speaker 2: whether to wildlife to any other number of things in between.
- 0:35Speaker 2: It was a pretty memorable one and in the end
- 0:38Speaker 2: the start line burnout that you were referring to actually
- 0:41Speaker 2: set the scene for a pretty fun race in the end,
- 0:43Speaker 2: because certainly in live and things on Sunday. But all
- 0:47Speaker 2: in all, a very very good Australian Grand Prix. But
- 0:49Speaker 2: what do you expect when you've got one of the best,
- 0:51Speaker 2: if not the best motorcycle track.
- 0:53Speaker 1: In the world.
- 0:53Speaker 2: It's always a pleasure to be down there, isn't it.
- 0:56Speaker 1: It's hard to not want to start talking about Mark
- 0:59Speaker 1: Marquez because it was such an impact on how the
- 1:02Speaker 1: whole weekend played out, But let's push that to the side.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Let's build everything up for everyone. So we got on
- 1:07Speaker 1: the ground on Wednesday and it was sunny. It was beautiful,
- 1:11Speaker 1: it was nice and warm, and Thursday, same thing there was.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Everybody was out and about. It was exciting. But what
- 1:19Speaker 1: was the main point of conversation The wind and the
- 1:22Speaker 1: rain that was forecast for Friday. And that's exactly what
- 1:25Speaker 1: we got with that cancelation of the practices in the morning.
- 1:29Speaker 1: But all those fans, we were sat in the media center,
- 1:32Speaker 1: all those fans down Gardener straight who had their ponchos
- 1:35Speaker 1: on their brollies and they were braving it. Oh I
- 1:38Speaker 1: take my hat off to them because it was wet
- 1:40Speaker 1: and wild on Friday, wasn't it. Oh?
- 1:42Speaker 2: Sure was the absolute best fans. And the thing is,
- 1:45Speaker 2: if you've been to Philip Island more than once, you
- 1:48Speaker 2: know that the easiest way to pack is just tip
- 1:50Speaker 2: your entire wardrobe into your car or into your whatever
- 1:53Speaker 2: bag you can find that's big enough, and you know
- 1:55Speaker 2: you're going to use everything over the course of the weekend.
- 1:57Speaker 2: So I went from having my head burnt on Thursday
- 2:01Speaker 2: at San Remo doing the homecoming ride to sitting in
- 2:03Speaker 2: the media sent to shivering with you on Friday. So
- 2:06Speaker 2: probably need to wear a hat or have more hair,
- 2:08Speaker 2: but that's my problem. But it's always a mixed bag
- 2:12Speaker 2: down there, and you know there is going to be
- 2:15Speaker 2: a wet day or some wet sessions, and I guess
- 2:18Speaker 2: fortunately with the way it turned out, the day you
- 2:20Speaker 2: can most afford to lose is the Friday, or at
- 2:24Speaker 2: least a session from that. But because of that uncertainty,
- 2:27Speaker 2: it completely changed the way the rest of the weekend
- 2:29Speaker 2: played out. Because Friday afternoon practice too, everyone thought it
- 2:34Speaker 2: was going to rain about two minutes into it, so
- 2:36Speaker 2: everyone went out there like it was the first lapse
- 2:38Speaker 2: of Q two and they're trying to put a lap
- 2:39Speaker 2: on the board. The rain held off. We had rabbits
- 2:42Speaker 2: and geese and all sorts of things running across the track,
- 2:45Speaker 2: and then we actually got a sprint away on the Saturday,
- 2:47Speaker 2: which was fantastic compared to last year. But you certainly
- 2:50Speaker 2: get the full box of weather down at Phillip Isolon.
- 2:53Speaker 2: We wouldn't have it any other way. And I do
- 2:56Speaker 2: like the commentary from a lot of our European friends
- 2:58Speaker 2: who have never set foot on philipp Island, saying all
- 3:01Speaker 2: this would be solved if you came here in February
- 3:03Speaker 2: or March, if you've been to Philipiland in February March,
- 3:06Speaker 2: which I know you have and I certainly have as well.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It can be thirty five degrees and a howling northerly
- 3:11Speaker 2: going down the strait, so that's no fun.
- 3:13Speaker 3: I like that.
- 3:13Speaker 2: And it could also rain a lot, so that's the
- 3:15Speaker 2: perils of having an amazing racetrack on the side of
- 3:18Speaker 2: a cliff next to the ocean. But yeah, we certainly
- 3:20Speaker 2: got the full weather experience, but at least it got
- 3:22Speaker 2: better as days went on.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Well, we got the full weather experience, but Jack Miller
- 3:27Speaker 1: got the full wildlife local animal encounter experience. He didn't
- 3:31Speaker 1: even have to go to the petting zoo for this one.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Poor Jack, he did not have a great weekend, Diddy.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Only Jack could have a weekend like this. And it's
- 3:39Speaker 2: even more ridiculous because he's the only Australian on the
- 3:41Speaker 2: motor GP grid. All the local animals just wanted to
- 3:44Speaker 2: come and say hello to it or something. I don't
- 3:45Speaker 2: know what was going on, but fortunately no one hit
- 3:48Speaker 2: one of the cape baron geese, So that was a
- 3:50Speaker 2: good result for the geese and for the riders because
- 3:52Speaker 2: those things are not small. But of course there was
- 3:55Speaker 2: a rabbit on the track that Jack hit, and of
- 3:57Speaker 2: course there was a seagull that flew straight through the
- 3:59Speaker 2: fairy of his katim in the sprint. It's like these
- 4:02Speaker 2: things had a magnet for Jack and Jack's bike. But
- 4:05Speaker 2: it was one of those weekends where and I think
- 4:08Speaker 2: you were at this on Sunday afterwards he began his
- 4:10Speaker 2: press briefing was at least I didn't kill anything today,
- 4:13Speaker 2: and just typical Jack. If anyone's going to take it
- 4:16Speaker 2: in the right spirit, it's going to be him. But
- 4:18Speaker 2: my goodness, like if you're playing Jack Miller Catastrophe bingo,
- 4:21Speaker 2: you would have filled your cart up pretty quickly.
- 4:23Speaker 1: My favorite quote from him on the weekend was, I
- 4:26Speaker 1: just hope the RSPCA don't come after me.
- 4:29Speaker 2: That may or may not have been a website of
- 4:32Speaker 2: a headliner on a Sorry on Fox Sports website on
- 4:34Speaker 2: Saturday night, because it was one of those ones that
- 4:36Speaker 2: was far too good that I had to use it.
- 4:38Speaker 2: But only Jack would come up with something like that,
- 4:40Speaker 2: So full credit to him for keeping a sense of humor.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Apart from having obviously terrible situations on the weekend with
- 4:48Speaker 1: these animals, it was cool to see Jack really get
- 4:50Speaker 1: involved with everything to do with the Australian Grand Prix
- 4:53Speaker 1: and his home round you know early this year, and
- 4:56Speaker 1: he even said to us in our podcast he was
- 4:57Speaker 1: expecting it to be his final one on to GP grid,
- 5:00Speaker 1: but obviously he's not. But he went all out. He
- 5:03Speaker 1: had a special design helmet, he did the homecoming ride
- 5:06Speaker 1: with Mick Dooin. There was so many activations that he
- 5:09Speaker 1: was out all over the weekend. So I think it
- 5:11Speaker 1: was really good for the Aussie fans to see such
- 5:13Speaker 1: a positive upbeat Jack Miller, even though the results on
- 5:16Speaker 1: track were just nowhere this weekend.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Yeah, and look to take our listeners behind the curtain
- 5:21Speaker 2: a little bit on Sunday. After the race, all of
- 5:24Speaker 2: the riders will come through a designated area where they
- 5:27Speaker 2: deal with the TV press and then the print website
- 5:29Speaker 2: press and Katim's press officer said Jack's likely to be
- 5:33Speaker 2: about forty five minutes late because as soon as he
- 5:35Speaker 2: finished the race, he wanted to be in amongst the
- 5:38Speaker 2: crowd and most of the stuff that Jack was signing
- 5:42Speaker 2: or giving me. He gave away pretty much all of
- 5:44Speaker 2: his kit that he had at the time and was
- 5:46Speaker 2: getting hold of hats and everything else. I don't think
- 5:48Speaker 2: anybody left Philip Eiler without a selfie or a signature,
- 5:51Speaker 2: or a piece of memorabilia or a handshake. He tries
- 5:54Speaker 2: to be everything to everybody. And look, he's not employed
- 5:58Speaker 2: to be an ambassador for this bought in Australia, as
- 6:01Speaker 2: he's employed to ride a motorbike, but the fact that
- 6:03Speaker 2: he does it so willingly and he's so thankful for
- 6:06Speaker 2: all the people that come out and cheer on all
- 6:08Speaker 2: the riders. But it's a privilege having a home race.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I think he's a fantastic ambassador for the sport and
- 6:13Speaker 2: I don't think there would have been too many fans
- 6:15Speaker 2: that left Philip Island on Sunday afternoon disappointed because he
- 6:18Speaker 2: just tries to give so much of his time make
- 6:21Speaker 2: all these schlub journalists wait in the press center. That's
- 6:23Speaker 2: completely fine, Jack, I think you did a fantastic job
- 6:26Speaker 2: with the fans and there'll be a lot of very
- 6:27Speaker 2: happy people on Sunday as driving back to Melbourne.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Well, let's talk about other happy riders on track and
- 6:34Speaker 1: I'm going to start with Jorge Martin. He was our
- 6:36Speaker 1: polsitter for the weekend set a flying lap when you know,
- 6:40Speaker 1: like you said earlier, we weren't sure if it was
- 6:41Speaker 1: going to rain. The clouds were looming on Saturday, and
- 6:43Speaker 1: then he also went on to win the sprint on
- 6:46Speaker 1: Saturday as well. So not about continuing on with his
- 6:51Speaker 1: championship title fight for Jojey Martine, and he said that
- 6:54Speaker 1: he seemed really comfortable up until Sunday, right.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much. And I think look, everyone knows how
- 7:01Speaker 2: good Mark is on these left handed circuits. We detail
- 7:04Speaker 2: that and the lead up. But as much as it
- 7:07Speaker 2: was a third straight Australian GP for ju Haete where
- 7:09Speaker 2: he didn't convert pole to a win, I think he's
- 7:12Speaker 2: probably the biggest winner out of the weekend because doubled's
- 7:15Speaker 2: championship lead from ten points to twenty and we've now
- 7:18Speaker 2: got very much a ticking clock. I reckon with this
- 7:20Speaker 2: World Championship in that the number of points available and
- 7:24Speaker 2: the time that Peco Banyaya has to try and eradicate
- 7:27Speaker 2: this deficit. Now you know we've got one hundred and
- 7:29Speaker 2: eleven points left. Jugees got a twenty point lead over Peco.
- 7:33Speaker 2: It doesn't sound like much, but that's becoming really significant
- 7:37Speaker 2: simply because if he's able to outscore Peko by nine
- 7:40Speaker 2: points in each of the next two race weekends, so
- 7:43Speaker 2: Thailand and Malaysia coming up after that, the championship won't
- 7:46Speaker 2: even get to Valencia because he would have won it.
- 7:48Speaker 2: And for context, look, he took ten points out of
- 7:50Speaker 2: Banya at Phillip Island, so it shows you that it
- 7:52Speaker 2: can be done. We know how good the decaddies are,
- 7:55Speaker 2: how closely out of the podium most of the time,
- 7:57Speaker 2: if not winning races. But it's very much in Juhei
- 8:00Speaker 2: hands now in that Peco now needs to almost hope
- 8:04Speaker 2: for a mistake. And I don't know about you, but
- 8:06Speaker 2: the whole I have last year, and I've said this
- 8:08Speaker 2: before on the Podlin, I had trust issues last year.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I didn't trust that he was actually going to be
- 8:12Speaker 2: able to convert when he had the speed so for
- 8:15Speaker 2: him to Yeah, he didn't win the Grand Prix on Sunday,
- 8:17Speaker 2: but he's the biggest winner of the weekend for me
- 8:19Speaker 2: because he's just tightening the screws here and it's getting
- 8:23Speaker 2: to a point where if Banoa has one more mistake
- 8:26Speaker 2: or one more ropie weekend that might just about be it.
- 8:30Speaker 2: And I think all has playing from a position of
- 8:31Speaker 2: advantage here, So really good weekend for him, and over
- 8:35Speaker 2: one lap at Philip Island, he's shown for the last
- 8:37Speaker 2: three years that he can just redefine what's possible now.
- 8:40Speaker 2: And I did think we might get a one twenty
- 8:42Speaker 2: six in qualifying had it have actually stayed dry and
- 8:45Speaker 2: he would have done the proper lead up, but he
- 8:47Speaker 2: still had plenty of pace in hand over everybody else,
- 8:49Speaker 2: didn't they.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Oh you could see it on track even on Saturday afternoon.
- 8:53Speaker 1: He just looked invincible is the word that I think
- 8:56Speaker 1: I want to use. Yeah, just incredible.
- 8:59Speaker 3: And it's so cool for.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Us having to get to experience it this year. And
- 9:03Speaker 1: obviously we watch it on TV like everybody who listens,
- 9:05Speaker 1: and but just to see it in person is, Oh,
- 9:09Speaker 1: it's a whole another level. But I want to touch
- 9:11Speaker 1: on Peco Vannoya because you wrote a story for Fox
- 9:14Speaker 1: that I thought was really interesting in the fact that
- 9:17Speaker 1: it's almost like he's alluding to that crash with Alex
- 9:20Speaker 1: Marquez at Aragon earlier in the year as to why
- 9:23Speaker 1: he's not closer in the title fight. Now, Peco was
- 9:28Speaker 1: up there and thereabouts all weekends, but he wasn't the
- 9:32Speaker 1: man at all. So this is what makes me think,
- 9:35Speaker 1: is he starting to use this I want to say
- 9:38Speaker 1: it's an excuse. Is he starting to use it as
- 9:42Speaker 1: mind games or is this the pressure now really getting
- 9:45Speaker 1: to Peco.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I think it's putting a little bit of an asterisk
- 9:49Speaker 2: on things from his perspective. I mean, let's deal with
- 9:51Speaker 2: the Australian weekend. For starters. We know that Martin is
- 9:54Speaker 2: the better of those two riders around that track, so
- 9:56Speaker 2: it did to me feel like he was in damage
- 9:58Speaker 2: limitation the whole weekkend. He was literally trying to hang on.
- 10:02Speaker 2: And you know the fact that Martin scored ten points
- 10:04Speaker 2: more than Banyor over the weekend, I don't actually think
- 10:07Speaker 2: that reflected Martin's dominance relative to Banyua at that track
- 10:11Speaker 2: at that time. So in some ways it was good
- 10:13Speaker 2: safe for Pecco to get on the podium on Sunday.
- 10:16Speaker 2: But the piece that you're alluding to that I wrote
- 10:18Speaker 2: for Fox Sports Today actually on Wednesday, was that that
- 10:22Speaker 2: DNF that he had at Aragon, with that crash with
- 10:24Speaker 2: Alex Marquez that we remember, that's his lowest scoring weekend
- 10:28Speaker 2: in two years, and Martin scored twenty nine points that weekend,
- 10:33Speaker 2: Banyoy scored one. So when you're looking at a twenty
- 10:36Speaker 2: point championship deficit, look, one moment doesn't make a world championship.
- 10:39Speaker 2: We know that, but that's a pretty significant moment in
- 10:42Speaker 2: the World championship because since Aragon there's been five rounds.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Banyai has actually outscored Martin across those five rounds, but
- 10:49Speaker 2: he's outscored him by a total of three points because
- 10:53Speaker 2: Martin is always there. So you'd argue, over the course
- 10:56Speaker 2: of the season, banya has won eight Grand Prix. It's
- 10:58Speaker 2: more than he won in his champion winning seasons in
- 11:00Speaker 2: twenty two and twenty three. But you've got this really
- 11:04Speaker 2: outlier result from Aragod where he's scored one point. Hasn't
- 11:06Speaker 2: had a worse weekend than that in two years, and
- 11:09Speaker 2: he's continuing to pay the price for that. And that
- 11:11Speaker 2: was all fine when you had a lot of races
- 11:13Speaker 2: still left to go, but we're down to three rounds now,
- 11:16Speaker 2: So I think that's the frustration that he was alluding
- 11:20Speaker 2: to on Sunday at Philip Island in that Yeah, he's
- 11:22Speaker 2: crashed out of the lead of a sprint this year,
- 11:24Speaker 2: and he's left some other points on the table, but
- 11:25Speaker 2: I think he can accept those because they were his doing.
- 11:28Speaker 2: He's never quite forgotten what happened with Alex Marquez at Aragon,
- 11:33Speaker 2: and as I wrote in that story, I think he's
- 11:35Speaker 2: forgiven Marques because he was pretty strong in some of
- 11:36Speaker 2: the comments that he made directly afterwards. So yes, he
- 11:39Speaker 2: can forgive, but I don't think he can forget. And
- 11:41Speaker 2: it could be the thing that decides this title, a
- 11:44Speaker 2: race that happened in September.
- 11:46Speaker 1: On Saturday afternoon. I believe after the sprint, Peko in
- 11:52Speaker 1: what we called the mix of the bull ring the
- 11:54Speaker 1: area that you're saying, well, all the writers come and
- 11:56Speaker 1: they debrief and talk to the press. He then said
- 12:00Speaker 1: that he goes, we have a lot of work to do.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Gicati has a lot of work to do to match
- 12:05Speaker 1: up to Juge Martin. After the sprint, so you could
- 12:08Speaker 1: really tell that even going into Sunday, I don't want
- 12:12Speaker 1: to say that he wasn't confident, but it's like he
- 12:13Speaker 1: was acting like he wasn't entirely confident, you know.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I think not confidence is probably the right way to
- 12:19Speaker 2: describe it, because we've said this before on the Podlin
- 12:22Speaker 2: Pecko's super methodical and that the moment that Friday FP
- 12:25Speaker 2: one got canceled and then rest of Friday was sketchy
- 12:28Speaker 2: and what's the wind doing and we get a wet
- 12:30Speaker 2: warm up. If everything, if all the variables are taken out,
- 12:34Speaker 2: and you have a perfectly sort of beninn weekend in
- 12:37Speaker 2: terms of weather and track conditions and no red flags,
- 12:40Speaker 2: Pecko's still the best guy on the grid because he
- 12:42Speaker 2: just methodically builds up to his pace and then once
- 12:46Speaker 2: he gets there, he stays there at this super high level.
- 12:49Speaker 2: And we've seen there's been a couple of weekends this
- 12:51Speaker 2: year where he's been able to do that and no
- 12:53Speaker 2: one sees him for the entire weekend. I'm thinking Austria
- 12:56Speaker 2: was like that, Japan was like that. He got a
- 12:59Speaker 2: bit of a helping hand from Pedro Costa in Japan,
- 13:00Speaker 2: of course, but when things are just so like Peko
- 13:04Speaker 2: is pretty much unbeatable, but a bit of a mad
- 13:06Speaker 2: weekend like Philip Ireland was, and like a couple of
- 13:09Speaker 2: these next races coming up could be with whether in
- 13:11Speaker 2: Thailand and Malaysia and what have you. I think Martine's
- 13:14Speaker 2: maybe better at improvising when things aren't going absolutely perfectly,
- 13:18Speaker 2: whereas if you're holding every race in a laboratory that
- 13:20Speaker 2: I think Peco's pretty much the guy.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Let's touch on Pedro Acosta that I know I'm going
- 13:26Speaker 1: to leave everyone hanging on the mark markets thing, and
- 13:28Speaker 1: that's obviously what I want to do. But let's touch
- 13:30Speaker 1: on Pedro Acosta. Same thing for him. I was really
- 13:33Speaker 1: excited to see him this weekend, but just not the
- 13:35Speaker 1: results that he would after crashing out and dislocating his
- 13:39Speaker 1: shoulder I believe in and something about stretching his ligament
- 13:41Speaker 1: declared him unfit for Sunday's race, which was such a
- 13:45Speaker 1: shame because I really wanted to hear his thoughts and Matt,
- 13:48Speaker 1: hopefully you can tell us a bit more about what
- 13:50Speaker 1: he did say, but hear his thoughts about riding this
- 13:52Speaker 1: track on a Moto GP bike because same with Peco.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Like I said earlier, Pedro was there or thereabouts all weekend,
- 13:59Speaker 1: Like he definitely wasn't slow at Philip Island on Friday
- 14:02Speaker 1: and Saturday.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Yeah, he was another guy that definitely paid the price
- 14:06Speaker 2: for that first session being washed out on Friday, because
- 14:08Speaker 2: you forget he's the only rookie of the field, right,
- 14:10Speaker 2: so every time we go to these circuits, yes, he's
- 14:13Speaker 2: raced on them and he's probably one on them and
- 14:15Speaker 2: Moto three and Moto two, but getting us to a
- 14:17Speaker 2: motor GP bike, particularly at a place as specific as
- 14:20Speaker 2: Philip Island, is that first session. Losing that really hurt him.
- 14:24Speaker 2: But this will make you set up right in your chair.
- 14:26Speaker 2: The accident that he had in a sprint with three
- 14:28Speaker 2: laps to go, he high sighted so violently that he
- 14:31Speaker 2: actually dislocated his shoulder as the bike spat him off,
- 14:35Speaker 2: and then his shoulder went back into its socket when
- 14:38Speaker 2: he hit the ground. And if that doesn't make you
- 14:41Speaker 2: WinCE just thinking about how painful that must have been.
- 14:44Speaker 2: So he's in mid end with a dislocated shoulder and
- 14:46Speaker 2: then hits the tar back and the shoulder goes back
- 14:48Speaker 2: in again. So no wonder they diagnosed h with left
- 14:51Speaker 2: shoulder trauma. And he was pretty sore and sorry on
- 14:54Speaker 2: Saturday when we saw him. He did all these media
- 14:55Speaker 2: debriefs in a sling, and you knew that thing was
- 14:58Speaker 2: going to swell up overnight on the sadurd night with
- 15:00Speaker 2: an impact like that, So it wasn't a huge surprise
- 15:02Speaker 2: that he was ruled out on for Sunday morning for
- 15:06Speaker 2: Sundays Afternoons race. But look, we know how good he's
- 15:09Speaker 2: been this year. He's had a mostly brilliant rookie season.
- 15:12Speaker 2: But unfortunately now he now leads the table that nobody
- 15:15Speaker 2: wants to lead. He's crashed more than any other rider
- 15:17Speaker 2: this year. Now it's twenty four crashes Pedro has had,
- 15:20Speaker 2: so he certainly found the limits. And someone's probably listening
- 15:24Speaker 2: to this going, hang on, how come Juan mir has
- 15:27Speaker 2: not on top of this list because every time we
- 15:28Speaker 2: see his name, it's Jean Miir crash. Mira only crashes
- 15:31Speaker 2: in the races. He doesn't crash in qualify. He doesn't
- 15:33Speaker 2: tend to crash in practice either. It's only ever in
- 15:35Speaker 2: the races. But a pretty nasty first big bike experience
- 15:38Speaker 2: for Pedro or Philip Island. But look, he's twenty. He'll
- 15:41Speaker 2: recover fast and it's not going to be the last
- 15:43Speaker 2: time we see him see him fast at Philip Island,
- 15:46Speaker 2: and I mean next year, the year after five years
- 15:48Speaker 2: after that, he'll be back.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Oh, he will definitely be back, but talking about nasty
- 15:53Speaker 1: crashes Maveri, Fergnalez, Marcarebetzeki down that straight into doing corner
- 15:59Speaker 1: during this print. Oh my god. If you guys don't
- 16:02Speaker 1: know what I'm talking about, obviously not for the fainthearted,
- 16:05Speaker 1: but you can definitely go to the fox x the
- 16:07Speaker 1: Twitter account. We've got the footage on this for you
- 16:10Speaker 1: guys to see. But Matt, is this the point now
- 16:14Speaker 1: where Arrow is becoming dangerous? Because not all circuits are
- 16:20Speaker 1: like I'm thinking like Saxon Ring that's like a go
- 16:24Speaker 1: kart track or even a Silverstone like they say that
- 16:27Speaker 1: Philip Alon is the rider's track. This is where they
- 16:30Speaker 1: really have to ride the bike. And we saw the
- 16:35Speaker 1: Digitia going into Maverick and dirty Air a mix with
- 16:38Speaker 1: the Arrow, the speed, the breaking. Is this where Arrow
- 16:41Speaker 1: is starting to make the bikes really dangerous.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I don't have starting is the right word. I think
- 16:46Speaker 2: we know that this sort of thing can happen, and
- 16:49Speaker 2: it's there's a couple of quarters on the calendar where
- 16:52Speaker 2: they turn a worried to aeroplane accidents and bike accidents. Unfortunately,
- 16:55Speaker 2: I'm thinking term one at Magello because you've got that
- 16:58Speaker 2: outside the in side wall, get my directions right on
- 17:01Speaker 2: the left hand side into a big breaking zone at
- 17:04Speaker 2: the end of us super far straight at term one,
- 17:06Speaker 2: and Philip Island's the other one. Because I think anyone
- 17:09Speaker 2: that knows Philip Island is a track. That gravel trap
- 17:12Speaker 2: at term one you almost need binoculars to see the
- 17:14Speaker 2: other end of it because of how massive it is.
- 17:16Speaker 2: And both Maverick and Marco Betzeki got a long long
- 17:20Speaker 2: way into that gravel trap. So look, we know that
- 17:23Speaker 2: ero in that corner is potentially a big issue. Now,
- 17:28Speaker 2: the race stewards did fire Marco Berzeki at fault for
- 17:31Speaker 2: that in game along that penalty for Sunday's race after
- 17:34Speaker 2: he'd returned from a hospital check in Melbourne on Saturday night,
- 17:36Speaker 2: So add an insult to injury for Marco. But look,
- 17:40Speaker 2: there's a reason that we're taking a lot of the
- 17:42Speaker 2: era off these bikes in a few years time, because
- 17:45Speaker 2: they don't create accidents like this, they just increase the
- 17:48Speaker 2: percentage chance of them happening. We know Philip Island's a
- 17:51Speaker 2: pretty particular circuit. The best thing that happened out of
- 17:53Speaker 2: that was both of those guys were okay. They certainly
- 17:55Speaker 2: had very different opinions as to who was at fault
- 17:58Speaker 2: for it. But I think we're pretty lucky on Saturday,
- 18:01Speaker 2: because that was pretty terrifying. And I don't know about you,
- 18:03Speaker 2: but that Motor GP press pack is a pretty you know,
- 18:07Speaker 2: hardcore group of guys who've been doing it for a
- 18:10Speaker 2: really long time, so they see things and they don't
- 18:11Speaker 2: react like the public generally reacts. Every single journal in
- 18:16Speaker 2: that press room pushed their chair out and put their
- 18:18Speaker 2: hands to their head when that happened, because we're all
- 18:20Speaker 2: fearful of the consequences. So Marco got moving eventually. Maverick
- 18:24Speaker 2: Vignale is his middle finger seemed to work directly after
- 18:27Speaker 2: the accident, so that was good. He wasn't particularly happy either,
- 18:30Speaker 2: but we got away with one there. But there's a
- 18:33Speaker 2: reason that we're changing these zero error rules, isn't it.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I was really surprised that Marco was declared fit for Sunday,
- 18:39Speaker 1: to be honest with you, because I was worried that
- 18:41Speaker 1: there was possible concussion, let alone any other injury or
- 18:45Speaker 1: damage to his body.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Right now, there's another podcast we could go about forty
- 18:49Speaker 2: five minutes on. I do wonder about the Motor GP
- 18:51Speaker 2: concussion protocols. Sometimes I think it's a bit of a
- 18:54Speaker 2: how you feel like, yeah, I'm fine, okay, good, you
- 18:56Speaker 2: can raise. I do wonder how stringent some of these
- 18:58Speaker 2: things are, because when he came to a stop in
- 19:01Speaker 2: the gravel trap, he did not move for about five
- 19:03Speaker 2: or ten seconds, so eventually was you know, came off
- 19:06Speaker 2: on the stretcher, was able to walk back with his
- 19:07Speaker 2: own power, and was able to compete on Sunday. But
- 19:11Speaker 2: you would not want to be having too many of those.
- 19:13Speaker 2: And then of course he did the long lap penalty
- 19:14Speaker 2: in the race, actually started the race quite well and
- 19:16Speaker 2: then crashed a turn four. So he was someone who
- 19:19Speaker 2: was pretty pleased to get on the plane out of Melbourne.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I think someone who didn't start the race very well
- 19:25Speaker 1: but definitely made headlines. We've kept you waiting long enough,
- 19:29Speaker 1: Mark Marquez. I feel like we just have to call
- 19:32Speaker 1: him the comeback king to They kept saying a mosquito
- 19:36Speaker 1: to have a bug. Lean on your viazin. You're going
- 19:38Speaker 1: to pull off a fresh tereir off so you can
- 19:39Speaker 1: actually see somehow it magically goes under his rear wheel.
- 19:44Speaker 1: He does a burnout on the start line, goes from
- 19:47Speaker 1: P two to p thirteen on the first lap to
- 19:51Speaker 1: win the Australian Grand Prix. Man, is that one of
- 19:54Speaker 1: the best rides we've ever seen in Motor GP?
- 19:56Speaker 2: It's certainly He's one sixty two Grand Prix now struggling
- 20:00Speaker 2: to think of too many that have been better than that.
- 20:03Speaker 2: But look awesome, writer, fantastic at Philip Land absolutely rubbish
- 20:07Speaker 2: at reading the wind because if you look at where
- 20:09Speaker 2: the wind was going, it was going to know from
- 20:11Speaker 2: left to right on your TV screen. He threw the
- 20:13Speaker 2: tear off directly into the wind. That was his first mistake.
- 20:16Speaker 2: But the chances of that thing lodging underneath his rear
- 20:19Speaker 2: wheel a million to one, and he knew where it
- 20:23Speaker 2: had gone, and he was in this conundrum where I've
- 20:25Speaker 2: got to sleep the right height device of watching the
- 20:27Speaker 2: lights is everyone on the green. He's trying to work
- 20:30Speaker 2: out whether he kick this thing out of the way.
- 20:31Speaker 2: So he kind of knew what was going to happen
- 20:33Speaker 2: before the start, and afterwards he was saying he knew
- 20:36Speaker 2: it was bad, but he didn't know where he was.
- 20:38Speaker 2: And he got to turn one and he looked up
- 20:40Speaker 2: and he saw I was with Luca Marini and I
- 20:42Speaker 2: was with two yamahas. It's like, well, this isn't good
- 20:45Speaker 2: because if I'm down with these guys, I am a
- 20:47Speaker 2: long way down the pack. And then within what six
- 20:50Speaker 2: laps he was back in the podium fight and had
- 20:53Speaker 2: to use a heap of tire to get back into
- 20:55Speaker 2: that and figured he just had to deal with it
- 20:57Speaker 2: later in the race. So look, just an absolute masterclass.
- 21:01Speaker 2: We know how good he is there. I mean, he's
- 21:03Speaker 2: won there multiple times before, but if all the winds
- 21:05Speaker 2: he's had there and it's been a pretty special circuit
- 21:07Speaker 2: for him over the years. That was quite something because
- 21:11Speaker 2: I wasn't surprised that he won based on how good
- 21:13Speaker 2: he is there. I was super surprised that he won
- 21:16Speaker 2: in that way. But yeah, just a brilliant ride by
- 21:19Speaker 2: a brilliant rider. And look, Joge Martine was right at
- 21:23Speaker 2: the end of the race and that he said, well,
- 21:24Speaker 2: Mark didn't have anything to lose, so he could be
- 21:26Speaker 2: super aggressive with me and I had to think of
- 21:28Speaker 2: the championship a little bit, which is correct, But I
- 21:30Speaker 2: don't think there was any denying Mark on the weekend.
- 21:33Speaker 2: It was just an awesome performance.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Oh, hands down, it was an incredible race to watch
- 21:38Speaker 1: and like you just mentioned the tires there. Coming into
- 21:40Speaker 1: this weekend, we weren't sure what was going to happen
- 21:42Speaker 1: because the track had recently been resurfaced, and we knew
- 21:46Speaker 1: earlier in the year the superbikes they had to have
- 21:48Speaker 1: that mandatory pit stop because of the tire just chewing
- 21:51Speaker 1: through tires and everything. And then you hear Mark who
- 21:54Speaker 1: comes from all the way back to take the victory,
- 21:58Speaker 1: and you're thinking, well, it's a lot o races, twenty
- 22:01Speaker 1: seven laps the Australian Grand Prix and the lap time's
- 22:03Speaker 1: not short by any means, So how much was he
- 22:06Speaker 1: just going for it and maybe not even thinking about
- 22:09Speaker 1: the tire wear and tear.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Well, I think he would have been so shocked by
- 22:13Speaker 2: what happened off the line that all the pre race
- 22:15Speaker 2: plans pretty much went out the window, because there's no
- 22:17Speaker 2: point sitting in conserving tire for late in the race.
- 22:20Speaker 2: When you're sitting down in eighth, ninth, tenth. He knew
- 22:23Speaker 2: he had to get back towards the front as quickly
- 22:25Speaker 2: as he could, but he also knew that would come
- 22:27Speaker 2: at a price because he would not have the optimal
- 22:30Speaker 2: level of tile left for the end of the race,
- 22:32Speaker 2: So I think all the best laid plans that he
- 22:34Speaker 2: had before the race pretty much went out the window.
- 22:36Speaker 2: But I've written this before several times this year. I
- 22:38Speaker 2: think he's the best improviser on the grid and that
- 22:42Speaker 2: when things aren't going right, he just finds a way
- 22:45Speaker 2: because that's what he does. And you know, if anyone
- 22:48Speaker 2: was going to extract themselves from a situation like that,
- 22:51Speaker 2: it was going to be that rider on that circuit,
- 22:53Speaker 2: and certainly one of his more memorable wins anywhere, I would.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Think, well, let's talk about memorial podiums and memorable wins.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Up next, we have got joining us on the pod
- 23:06Speaker 1: is after his maiden World Championship podium position Moto two
- 23:11Speaker 1: writer Ozzie Who hero superstar Sena Ageous joining us. So,
- 23:16Speaker 1: guys stay tuned for exclusive chat with Sena Ageus. Alrighty,
- 23:23Speaker 1: Sena Ageus, fresh from your Australian home Grand Prix and
- 23:28Speaker 1: your first ever World Championship podium, how are you feeling?
- 23:32Speaker 1: But also has it sunk in yet that you have
- 23:35Speaker 1: still on a podium in a Moto too World Championship race?
- 23:40Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, only just recently, like the last couple
- 23:43Speaker 4: of days. I think it's just because there's another race
- 23:46Speaker 4: coming up and you kind of don't want to forget
- 23:47Speaker 4: the last fun type thing, so everything needs to start
- 23:50Speaker 4: rolling forward and you just need to focus to try.
- 23:52Speaker 3: And do it again.
- 23:53Speaker 4: But I definitely didn't sink in the day after the race,
- 23:57Speaker 4: even so, it wasn't until I actually just got home
- 23:59Speaker 4: on Monday night and when my family rolled in from driving,
- 24:03Speaker 4: we all sat down and rewatched it.
- 24:04Speaker 3: So yeah, that was probably when it sunk in.
- 24:07Speaker 2: That was going to be my next question because I
- 24:09Speaker 2: wondered how many times you had rewatched it, because to
- 24:12Speaker 2: take you behind the curtain a little bit. Once you
- 24:15Speaker 2: got up to third, once Alonso Lopez had crashed, it
- 24:19Speaker 2: was a little bit too far away from you to
- 24:20Speaker 2: see what was going on. But Aldegare and Connett were
- 24:23Speaker 2: carving lubs out of each other on the last lap,
- 24:25Speaker 2: and we're all thinking it was going to be the
- 24:26Speaker 2: old Stephen Bradbury think where these two were going to
- 24:28Speaker 2: take each other off her two quarters from home. So
- 24:30Speaker 2: you had all the Spanish journals in the media center like, oh,
- 24:33Speaker 2: these guys are going to take each other out, and
- 24:35Speaker 2: all the Australians are like, go take each other out
- 24:36Speaker 2: have you fantastic? It was such a funny scene to
- 24:39Speaker 2: see what was going on. But I did want to
- 24:41Speaker 2: ask you about crossing the line. I love asking this
- 24:44Speaker 2: question of athletes when they've achieved like an amazing thing
- 24:48Speaker 2: in their career. You've got all this adrenaline, you realize
- 24:51Speaker 2: you're on the podium. What are you thinking, Like, what's
- 24:55Speaker 2: going through your head? Are you thinking of random people
- 24:57Speaker 2: that helped you along the way, or you think your
- 25:00Speaker 2: family or sacrifice that you know your folks made, or
- 25:03Speaker 2: something like this, This huge amount of emotion going through
- 25:06Speaker 2: your head take us on the in lap.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Honestly, I actually couldn't wait to get into park family
- 25:13Speaker 4: to see what my old man would say. Honestly, that's
- 25:16Speaker 4: actually probably one of the first things I thought of.
- 25:18Speaker 3: So family comes straight to mine.
- 25:21Speaker 4: And then I looked to my right and then all
- 25:23Speaker 4: the guys coming out of turn one like over the fence,
- 25:26Speaker 4: like throwing their shirts around and stuff. So it was like,
- 25:29Speaker 4: oh my god, like everyone's going to be so happy.
- 25:31Speaker 4: And then I just actually was just thinking a lot
- 25:33Speaker 4: about family. But whatever what was going on punching and
- 25:36Speaker 4: throwing things out of the line was just whatever was
- 25:38Speaker 4: happening in my body.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Nothing was you know, I just couldn't really believe it.
- 25:42Speaker 4: I was just checking the screen to make sure it
- 25:43Speaker 4: was all good, you know what I mean, nothing had changed,
- 25:45Speaker 4: so no, it was whatever was going at the minute.
- 25:48Speaker 4: But for sure, first thing was on my mind was
- 25:50Speaker 4: to see what my career had to say.
- 25:53Speaker 2: And also I mean, look, I know you know this
- 25:55Speaker 2: because you know how the sport works. But we were
- 25:57Speaker 2: just discussing before you came on the list of Ossie
- 25:59Speaker 2: Ride who've been on their home Grand Prix podium, Stoner, Gardner, Dowan, Miller, Vermuller,
- 26:06Speaker 2: not you, Ranita, the other Mula and West, Arthur's sisters,
- 26:10Speaker 2: Joel Kelso and now you. It's a pretty amazing group
- 26:14Speaker 2: to be part of after your not even full first
- 26:17Speaker 2: World Championship season. I mean that's something you'll never ever
- 26:20Speaker 2: forget to be part of that crew.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 26:23Speaker 4: And it's actually cool that guys like Ant and Arthur
- 26:26Speaker 4: pulled one off as well. There's like a fair list
- 26:29Speaker 4: of us as well that have had some success down
- 26:31Speaker 4: at the Island. So that poster who I'm not sure
- 26:34Speaker 4: who made that thing on social media with like all
- 26:36Speaker 4: the photos of it that was sick.
- 26:38Speaker 3: That was a cool photo. So yeah, they told me
- 26:41Speaker 3: that in the broadcast.
- 26:41Speaker 4: I said as well, and I was like, yeah, I'm
- 26:43Speaker 4: pretty pretty proud to join the crew.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Talk us through the weekend back to the start, heading
- 26:49Speaker 1: into your first home Grand Prix. Was it did it
- 26:52Speaker 1: feel different for you? Were you more excited or did
- 26:54Speaker 1: it feel more stressful because you had a lot of
- 26:56Speaker 1: your friends and family there who have supported you for
- 26:58Speaker 1: so long? Does it feel like maybe you had a
- 27:01Speaker 1: bit more pressure to have to perform this weekend?
- 27:06Speaker 4: Honestly, I learned so much at the island because it
- 27:08Speaker 4: was the most time I've spent not doing my job ever,
- 27:15Speaker 4: so like, I did not I didn't see my guys
- 27:18Speaker 4: until about midday. I quickly popped in the box at
- 27:22Speaker 4: about six o'clock in the evening most days just to
- 27:25Speaker 4: do like a little debrief of the day. Other than that,
- 27:28Speaker 4: I was doing events so like, and I felt at
- 27:30Speaker 4: the most ad ease of all the GP events I've done,
- 27:33Speaker 4: So like, when I look at it, do I maybe
- 27:35Speaker 4: overcomplicate the ones that are not as hyped up, like
- 27:38Speaker 4: because you're in a like obviously these overseas races, I
- 27:41Speaker 4: got nothing to do with the country or anything that
- 27:42Speaker 4: I'm racing, and I've just in with my guys or
- 27:45Speaker 4: looking at my looking at the timesheeting all the data
- 27:48Speaker 4: you can get from the PDF, so you're always just
- 27:50Speaker 4: in the racing mode and you don't really switch off.
- 27:52Speaker 3: We're in for the violin. I was doing some of
- 27:53Speaker 3: the other things.
- 27:53Speaker 4: I kind of forgot about what was happening, and for me,
- 27:56Speaker 4: it comes with way less stress, so like I'm actually
- 27:59Speaker 4: kind of just looking at that we can go okay,
- 28:01Speaker 4: like there's a couple of interesting things. So I just
- 28:03Speaker 4: had so much going on that it I just forgot
- 28:05Speaker 4: if I had a bad session or honestly, I had
- 28:08Speaker 4: good I was had good.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Speed all weekend, which helps.
- 28:10Speaker 4: If I was not competitive, then of course I'd be
- 28:12Speaker 4: like being a bit worried, But no, I just had
- 28:15Speaker 4: some other things going on.
- 28:16Speaker 3: But strangely enough brought a sense of calmness.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Especially because all the pr eventually doing with the people,
- 28:22Speaker 4: you know, all the people or the fans are Australians,
- 28:25Speaker 4: or even the homecoming right on Thursday, seeing so many
- 28:29Speaker 4: fans over at scen Remo. It's just it was just
- 28:31Speaker 4: an amazing experience for me. So yeah, come with a
- 28:34Speaker 4: new sense of calmness.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I guess, well, in so much positivity as well, like, yeah,
- 28:38Speaker 2: you're busy, but it's all positive busy.
- 28:41Speaker 3: And you know, it gives you a.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Bit of a boost of energy as well. But that'll
- 28:44Speaker 2: be interesting actually, because you're in a pretty busy time
- 28:46Speaker 2: of the season right now with this triple header. But
- 28:48Speaker 2: maybe at the end of it you might sort of
- 28:50Speaker 2: turn around and look back and go, you know, maybe
- 28:52Speaker 2: I might overthink some aspects of the weekend.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I have changed.
- 28:56Speaker 2: The way that you work. But on that overthinking part,
- 28:59Speaker 2: what was into just about the race was that you
- 29:01Speaker 2: got up to fourth about halfway through, once you got
- 29:04Speaker 2: past a Gura and obviously he's got bigger things on
- 29:07Speaker 2: his plate at the moment, where he's got a championship
- 29:09Speaker 2: to try and win, and so you're in this kind
- 29:11Speaker 2: of weird race where it was you versus the track
- 29:14Speaker 2: and not necessarily going super well to will with guys,
- 29:18Speaker 2: and the podium was ahead of you, but it wasn't
- 29:21Speaker 2: quite there. So when you've got more time to think
- 29:23Speaker 2: in that situation, you just got to get your head down,
- 29:25Speaker 2: I'm assuming, but did you see that you were getting
- 29:29Speaker 2: towards Alonzo Lopez at that point because the gap did
- 29:32Speaker 2: come down pretty significantly, but he needed to help you
- 29:35Speaker 2: to get on the podium. Talk us through that last
- 29:37Speaker 2: sort of third of the race because you were kind
- 29:38Speaker 2: of racing by yourself to a degree there.
- 29:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I was just when I passed a Gura finally
- 29:45Speaker 4: got past him, I was like, Okay, you're going to
- 29:47Speaker 4: be pushing your own wind. There's definitely going to be
- 29:49Speaker 4: a train behind you, so just you cannot make mistakes.
- 29:51Speaker 4: And of course on the first couple ups breaking and
- 29:54Speaker 4: to all the hairpins as you're hitting the apex, you
- 29:56Speaker 4: can hear the other guys getting on the throttle, like
- 29:58Speaker 4: in your peripheral areas, I'm lucky. Okay, everyone's still there.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Everyone's still there and just trying to not make mistakes.
- 30:03Speaker 4: But I was thinking that. I was like, I looked
- 30:06Speaker 4: at the lap times we were doing, and the lap
- 30:08Speaker 4: time the guest lap time that we had in our
- 30:11Speaker 4: plan of what we needed to achieve to not destroy
- 30:13Speaker 4: the tire was way slower than what we did. So
- 30:16Speaker 4: I was behind I doing lap times going like I
- 30:19Speaker 4: feel like this is easy, but I'm scared.
- 30:21Speaker 3: Is this like it?
- 30:22Speaker 4: I'm scared because am I destroying the tire without me
- 30:25Speaker 4: even knowing it. So when I passed him, I'm like,
- 30:27Speaker 4: just try and keep it, And then I just kept
- 30:29Speaker 4: doing faster lap times and then I'm on board, I'm
- 30:31Speaker 4: growing a gap and I'm like, tire still feels okay,
- 30:34Speaker 4: because you've got to remember we had no dry time,
- 30:36Speaker 4: so and Perelli were saying to us there will be
- 30:38Speaker 4: a massive problem. Like Perelli, we even, I think at
- 30:40Speaker 4: one point even thinking about just making everyone run the
- 30:43Speaker 4: hard tire mandatory because everyone's quality tires started eating themselves
- 30:47Speaker 4: in a couple of laps. So in our team especially,
- 30:50Speaker 4: we were so worried, and we had like an ideal
- 30:54Speaker 4: lap time that we wanted to achieve consistently that would
- 30:56Speaker 4: be safe for the tire and when we'll wait under that.
- 30:59Speaker 3: I was so worried. So when I just I just
- 31:01Speaker 3: run with it.
- 31:01Speaker 4: I like my first line lap when I was in
- 31:04Speaker 4: front of a girl pushed my wind catching Alonso, it
- 31:07Speaker 4: was like four tenths quicker than I did all raised
- 31:09Speaker 4: and then the next that was the same lap time,
- 31:10Speaker 4: same lap time, same lat time. So I'm like, okay,
- 31:13Speaker 4: that's it, You've gone that's it, Like, I can't think
- 31:15Speaker 4: about saving the tie now because I'm not going to
- 31:17Speaker 4: catch him, and then they're just going to start catching
- 31:19Speaker 4: me again.
- 31:20Speaker 3: So I kind of just went at one point and
- 31:21Speaker 3: said this is this will is what it will be.
- 31:23Speaker 4: And yeah, I kept that thirty one, three, thirty one
- 31:26Speaker 4: and four going to the end, and I was catching Alonso,
- 31:29Speaker 4: but I couldn't quite.
- 31:30Speaker 3: I could see he'd react because you could see his
- 31:33Speaker 3: margin shrinking, which put pressure on him.
- 31:35Speaker 4: But there was at some point there where he reacted
- 31:37Speaker 4: and I was only pulling two or three tenths a lap,
- 31:39Speaker 4: so the gap kind of comes stale.
- 31:41Speaker 3: And then when he went down, I'm.
- 31:42Speaker 4: Like, okay, just don't don't crash this motorile, Like I
- 31:45Speaker 4: do not fuck this up. So that's that's really what happened.
- 31:48Speaker 4: But it was it was quite a strange race.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Sorry, I just.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Can't believe that you've just sworn on the Fox Sports podcast,
- 31:56Speaker 1: so we'll happen to bleep that out. But Okay, this weekend,
- 32:01Speaker 1: you had a really cool special livery or you're honoring someone.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Can you tell us a little bit about that design
- 32:09Speaker 1: and the process of coming up with that This for
- 32:11Speaker 1: the Australian Grand Prix.
- 32:13Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, like when the helmet my helmet company
- 32:16Speaker 4: or sponsor, Elis two said to me like they really
- 32:20Speaker 4: wanted me because I didn't actually have a plan to
- 32:23Speaker 4: do anything special. Honestly, we had so little time during
- 32:26Speaker 4: the year to think about it. So when they said, oh,
- 32:28Speaker 4: we're gonna you have to do it for us, it's
- 32:30Speaker 4: good for marketing, blah blah blah, and I said, Okay,
- 32:32Speaker 4: I'm not passing up that opportunity. So when I got
- 32:34Speaker 4: the opportunity to do it, I was just was, honestly
- 32:36Speaker 4: in my own thoughts for a couple of weeks, I
- 32:38Speaker 4: couldn't think of something to do as silly as it sounds, like,
- 32:40Speaker 4: I'm proud to be Aussie, but I didn't want to
- 32:43Speaker 4: just slap something so boring the Australian on my helmet,
- 32:45Speaker 4: like the flag or whatever. And one animal in the
- 32:48Speaker 4: end is exactly what happened.
- 32:49Speaker 3: But a bit of a different way.
- 32:52Speaker 4: So I kind of just thought, Okay, what's cool about
- 32:56Speaker 4: Philip Bail And the first thing that come to mind
- 32:57Speaker 4: was watching Casey right there, So I'm like, okay, I
- 33:00Speaker 4: met Casey last year. I have a bit of a
- 33:03Speaker 4: relationship with him a small friendship. So I was like,
- 33:05Speaker 4: you know what, let's pick one of my favorite moments,
- 33:07Speaker 4: which was that Chacaddy two thousand and nine era that
- 33:09Speaker 4: all those colors and vibes of that one off and
- 33:11Speaker 4: I said, okay, let's see if he's keen. So I
- 33:15Speaker 4: got the permission to take his boots and gloves and
- 33:19Speaker 4: we actually created that helmet together. He was quite busy
- 33:22Speaker 4: organizing I think his stuff Ikma and stuff like that
- 33:25Speaker 4: that he's doing it they on that beata, so he
- 33:27Speaker 4: was quite busy, so I couldn't really design the whole
- 33:29Speaker 4: thing with him, but I had many sketches and templates
- 33:32Speaker 4: drown and we would just send things fire what's up
- 33:35Speaker 4: through over to him and Andrew and they would tell
- 33:37Speaker 4: me what they did and didn't like, and we ended
- 33:39Speaker 4: up coming out with what we had on Saturday. So
- 33:42Speaker 4: it come out unreal and I think everybody loved it.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Well, if you're going to do a tribute to any
- 33:47Speaker 2: Australian writer of Philippil and you picked the right one
- 33:49Speaker 2: because he didn't tend to finish it at the other
- 33:52Speaker 2: the first in that place. But Cent, I'm conscious of
- 33:54Speaker 2: your time, so I'm going to sleep one more in
- 33:56Speaker 2: before Ronita raps this. But the twenty four hours after
- 34:00Speaker 2: you get your first World Championship podium, I didn't even
- 34:02Speaker 2: want to know how many texts and messages and what
- 34:04Speaker 2: have you got? But who was that person that came
- 34:07Speaker 2: to you or messaged you or got in touch with
- 34:10Speaker 2: the family where you just think, I can't believe this
- 34:12Speaker 2: is actually happening, because I'm sure pretty much everyone in
- 34:14Speaker 2: your contact list has got in touch with you in
- 34:16Speaker 2: the past four days.
- 34:18Speaker 4: Yeah, No, you just come in just getting a small
- 34:21Speaker 4: message from Casey, especially saying that he is happy for
- 34:24Speaker 4: me and stuff like that. So that was something's something cool,
- 34:27Speaker 4: especially with running the kit that we did. So he's
- 34:30Speaker 4: probably the probably the best message I've received, But equally
- 34:33Speaker 4: as much just my following and my friends, a lot
- 34:37Speaker 4: of like school friends and stuff like that, Guys that
- 34:40Speaker 4: don't normally get to raise me, or people like one
- 34:42Speaker 4: of people that went down to the island that have
- 34:44Speaker 4: never seen me race before, people like that, seeing them
- 34:46Speaker 4: so happy, and yeah, just my normal people just being
- 34:51Speaker 4: so excited for me.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Especially it's just.
- 34:53Speaker 4: Really cool that I was already stoked that people that
- 34:56Speaker 4: don't get to see me overseas. Got to be there
- 34:58Speaker 4: and then to be there on that weekend was just
- 35:00Speaker 4: like a bit of a fairy tale ending. Other than
- 35:02Speaker 4: getting the win, that was quite special.
- 35:06Speaker 3: All right.
- 35:06Speaker 1: So you're in the middle now of a triple header.
- 35:09Speaker 1: You're in Thailand currently. How are you feeling going into
- 35:13Speaker 1: this Grand Prix and I guess the rest of the year.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Are you feeling more confident now you've kind of got
- 35:17Speaker 1: that podium under your belt? And is this a circuit
- 35:20Speaker 1: I guess that you like? Or have you ridden here before?
- 35:24Speaker 3: I wrote here six six years ago the Asia Talent Cup.
- 35:27Speaker 4: Same with Qatar, but I'm just referencing it to then
- 35:31Speaker 4: because this year in Qatar, I started from zero. I
- 35:33Speaker 4: don't didn't remember nothing, and okay, this track's a lot
- 35:36Speaker 4: more simple than that place. But I've been in the
- 35:38Speaker 4: country before, I've ridden around the track, but this machine
- 35:41Speaker 4: is so different. So just have to just start again
- 35:45Speaker 4: on Friday, more or lesson so where we are, but
- 35:47Speaker 4: just hoping that you know, we've gone from having really
- 35:52Speaker 4: good speed and such a great feeling on the bike
- 35:54Speaker 4: and then he had a really tough round in Japan
- 35:57Speaker 4: and then all of a sudden we're on the podium,
- 35:58Speaker 4: it's been lumpy, and like, deep down, I've just hoped
- 36:02Speaker 4: that we've learned something in these last three weeks have
- 36:04Speaker 4: been really important. We've just felt amazing on the bike,
- 36:07Speaker 4: and we felt totally terrible on the bike, so we've
- 36:09Speaker 4: done it, been doing a lot of analyzing. We're just
- 36:11Speaker 4: not going with the wind like I. As much as
- 36:14Speaker 4: I loved being on the podium, it's such a mad
- 36:16Speaker 4: turnaround from how I felt in the bike seven days prior.
- 36:19Speaker 4: So there's a lot of learning going on at the moment.
- 36:21Speaker 4: So I think we just need to find really learn
- 36:23Speaker 4: what's working and what's not, and trying to find trends
- 36:26Speaker 4: in different circuits and settings and try and find something
- 36:29Speaker 4: that's more stable for the last half of the year
- 36:31Speaker 4: because I've shown that if it comes together for me
- 36:33Speaker 4: that I can perform. So yeah, I'm just hoping to
- 36:37Speaker 4: just try and be consistent.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Now.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Awesome, well, Santa, We wish you all the best of
- 36:42Speaker 1: the remainder of the season. Thank you so much for
- 36:43Speaker 1: jumping on the pod, and we can't wait to see
- 36:47Speaker 1: you hopefully take that w this weekend or in the
- 36:50Speaker 1: remainder of the twenty twenty four season.
- 36:52Speaker 3: Thanks guys.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Well, Matt, that was a really interesting interview. It's so
- 36:58Speaker 1: funny hearing it from a different point of view. Is
- 37:02Speaker 1: some writers, I guess, are really excited and exuberant and
- 37:06Speaker 1: maybe feel like a home grownd Prix is almost a
- 37:08Speaker 1: little bit more stressful for them than a European race.
- 37:12Speaker 1: But by the sounds like it, he's just super calm
- 37:14Speaker 1: and casual all weekend, right.
- 37:17Speaker 2: It's interesting what pressure does to athletes in their home
- 37:20Speaker 2: Grand Prix or event or whatever it might be. When
- 37:23Speaker 2: you're on an international stage. You know, tennis players playing
- 37:25Speaker 2: in the Australian Open that are Australians, all that sort
- 37:27Speaker 2: of thing. Pressure can be a privilege, it could also
- 37:30Speaker 2: be a burden for some people. And you look at
- 37:32Speaker 2: the way some of the Ossie guys in the World
- 37:35Speaker 2: Championship handle the pressure of racing at home. They do
- 37:38Speaker 2: see it as a privilege. We were talking before about
- 37:41Speaker 2: just how available Jack Millery is and trying to be
- 37:43Speaker 2: everything for the fans, and you know, obviously Chris was
- 37:45Speaker 2: really good at that when he was in the game
- 37:47Speaker 2: as well. So it's just cool to it's just cool
- 37:50Speaker 2: to see that that pressure brings out the best in people.
- 37:52Speaker 2: And you know, the last two years at philip Island
- 37:54Speaker 2: we've had two ossies take their first World Championship podiums,
- 37:57Speaker 2: with Joel Kelso at now center, so I guess it's
- 37:59Speaker 2: working pretty well for those guys.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Well, let's talk on Moto three as well. So, like
- 38:04Speaker 1: you said, Joel Kelso last year had a super awesome
- 38:07Speaker 1: race and this weekend, even in the race he was
- 38:09Speaker 1: leading for multiple laps. But it seems like we're seeing
- 38:12Speaker 1: a very similar story with Joel. Right, he's strong at
- 38:15Speaker 1: the beginning of the race and then something happens and
- 38:18Speaker 1: he just seems to drop back. What's your take on
- 38:21Speaker 1: his weekend?
- 38:22Speaker 2: Yeah, this was a bit of a different one I
- 38:24Speaker 2: think for Joel, and it sometimes it's a performance issue
- 38:26Speaker 2: later in the race and just can't quite hang with
- 38:28Speaker 2: that front pack. But he got sat up pretty severely
- 38:31Speaker 2: at turned two about halfway through the race. And you
- 38:33Speaker 2: know what Moto three's like at philip Iland, Like, if
- 38:35Speaker 2: you get out of the pack at Philipilo, it's super
- 38:38Speaker 2: hard to catch up because most philip Ilo Motor three
- 38:41Speaker 2: races tend to be a huge pack disputing things over
- 38:44Speaker 2: on the last lap. So unfortunate for Joel that he
- 38:46Speaker 2: got pushed back. But one thing we did see was
- 38:49Speaker 2: all the hype about David Alonzo. It's pretty justified because
- 38:53Speaker 2: he won a Motor three race. You don't see Motor
- 38:55Speaker 2: three races one like that at Philip Island and he
- 38:57Speaker 2: was absolutely awesome on Sunday and to equal that Rossi
- 39:02Speaker 2: record from nineteen ninety seven eleven wins in a single
- 39:05Speaker 2: season in a category as crazyly tight as that is,
- 39:09Speaker 2: he's the next guy like, he's clearly got it. And
- 39:12Speaker 2: the post race celebration with his head taped up like
- 39:15Speaker 2: Valentino in nineteen ninety seven was gold. That was absolutely fantastic.
- 39:19Speaker 2: So he's got a good sense of humor too. The
- 39:21Speaker 2: celebrations are becoming better and better by the race. I think.
- 39:24Speaker 1: I think it's something that we're all excited about with
- 39:27Speaker 1: him moving up and progressing, as we haven't seen a
- 39:29Speaker 1: character like Valentino until Pedro started to make his way through,
- 39:33Speaker 1: and we don't really have that Inmoto GP. So to
- 39:35Speaker 1: see David Alonzo, I guess replicating that and speaking to
- 39:38Speaker 1: him on the weekend talking about, you know, when he
- 39:41Speaker 1: won the championship or even like his post ray celebrations
- 39:44Speaker 1: on the Uni cycle. It's so exciting and it's nice
- 39:47Speaker 1: to have a character back in the sport because it
- 39:50Speaker 1: helps the storyline. It helps everybody kind of get to
- 39:52Speaker 1: know who that person is, right.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Well, he's got the combination of the character and the
- 39:56Speaker 2: talent right and some people have got too much of
- 39:58Speaker 2: one and not enough of the other. He's clearly got
- 40:00Speaker 2: it both. And Moto two, as Senna knows, could be
- 40:03Speaker 2: a bit of a jungle for guys coming up from
- 40:05Speaker 2: Moto three. You see if you guys flame out when
- 40:07Speaker 2: they get there, but I'd be very surprised if he does.
- 40:10Speaker 2: He looks like a Motor GP front runner in waiting.
- 40:15Speaker 2: He's so young still, and you know, I think you
- 40:18Speaker 2: look at the way he rides too. His whole advantage
- 40:20Speaker 2: of the guys in Moto three is late breaking and
- 40:22Speaker 2: that's only going to help you when he gets to
- 40:24Speaker 2: the bigger bikes and the heavier bikes, Like he's clearly
- 40:26Speaker 2: got something. So looking forward to see where.
- 40:28Speaker 1: He goes, and also looking forward to seeing how Jacob
- 40:31Speaker 1: Wilstone does for the remainder of the season. Obviously next year,
- 40:34Speaker 1: but Matt having his grandma on the grid wasn't that
- 40:38Speaker 1: just so sweet?
- 40:39Speaker 2: I knew you were going to go there. That was
- 40:41Speaker 2: so cool. I hadn't realized it at the time. I
- 40:43Speaker 2: sort of saw the grid and went, Okay, I'm not
- 40:45Speaker 2: sure who that is, but that's fine. I'm sure we'll
- 40:46Speaker 2: find out. But you love that, didn't you?
- 40:48Speaker 3: I did.
- 40:49Speaker 1: It's so nice just to see, like obviously talking with
- 40:52Speaker 1: Senna having his whole family there, Jack had his whole
- 40:54Speaker 1: family there, and obviously Jacob and Joel same thing. And
- 40:58Speaker 1: it's a big deal for these guys, especially your first
- 41:00Speaker 1: home Grand Prix, and obviously his grandparents must have been
- 41:03Speaker 1: a huge, I guess guiding role in his life. So
- 41:06Speaker 1: to have that, I feel like he's a way to
- 41:08Speaker 1: give back and to say thank you. It was really
- 41:10Speaker 1: really nice. Even though he didn't have the qualifying that
- 41:13Speaker 1: he needed, didn't necessarily get the results that I guess
- 41:16Speaker 1: he was hoping for. I think it was still a
- 41:17Speaker 1: positive takeaway for Jacob this weekend.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yeah, agree, I think. You know, he had a couple
- 41:23Speaker 2: of pretty rough ones outside the points coming into Australia,
- 41:25Speaker 2: so to you know, never even been to an Australian
- 41:28Speaker 2: Grand Prix before a little one competing one. So to
- 41:30Speaker 2: have a better weekend, be around family, say thanks to
- 41:33Speaker 2: some people that got in there in the first place.
- 41:35Speaker 2: So some good memories from him and hopefully that means
- 41:38Speaker 2: that Thailand this weekend is a little bit better.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Well, let's talk about Thailand, and let's bring Senna back
- 41:44Speaker 1: into the chat to talk all about his first Tai
- 41:47Speaker 1: Grand Prix. Actually, to be honest, he hasn't actually left
- 41:50Speaker 1: the chat. He's just been sitting quietly in the corner.
- 41:52Speaker 1: But we can bring him back on now. So sona
- 41:54Speaker 1: come back in talk to us TI Grand Prix. So
- 41:58Speaker 1: looking at the Brembo report, it's a little bit of
- 42:01Speaker 1: a harder breaking for the Moto GP guys, Is it
- 42:03Speaker 1: the same for you in Moto two?
- 42:06Speaker 3: Yeah, ninety nine percent. Sure.
- 42:08Speaker 4: We will go from the three oh five to the
- 42:11Speaker 4: three fifteen discs. We will put the air ducks back on,
- 42:14Speaker 4: stuff like that, just to try and get some breaking
- 42:16Speaker 4: stability going on, especially with the heat different like Japan,
- 42:21Speaker 4: we have to in Australia we want run big breaks,
- 42:23Speaker 4: but because of the temperature it's not so bad where
- 42:27Speaker 4: I think it's even a bit more crucial with all
- 42:29Speaker 4: the temperature, especially flip breakthrough and stuff like that, So yeah,
- 42:34Speaker 4: I didn't really know what to expect. We have some
- 42:36Speaker 4: more standardized tires in the allocation, especially for Moto two.
- 42:40Speaker 4: The tires that we were on last week were like
- 42:41Speaker 4: tires we've never even we've never even written on spun
- 42:45Speaker 4: laps on before. So we have some more standard tiers
- 42:47Speaker 4: back in the allocation, which is a bit more familiar,
- 42:49Speaker 4: and back to.
- 42:50Speaker 3: A super hot track surface like we.
- 42:53Speaker 4: Had in Indonesia, so in these Asian countries, So yeah,
- 42:55Speaker 4: I'm looking forward to it.
- 42:58Speaker 2: How much do you have to modify your center for
- 43:00Speaker 2: a place like this because we know the ambient there's
- 43:03Speaker 2: super super hot, and the way that track is like
- 43:05Speaker 2: you were saying, like you know a lot of really
- 43:07Speaker 2: heart breaking, it's pretty physically taxing one. So what do
- 43:11Speaker 2: you have to do to sort of modify you or
- 43:13Speaker 2: you prepare for Sunday because that's doing forty five minutes
- 43:16Speaker 2: on a track like that, particularly if you're at a pack,
- 43:18Speaker 2: that's no picnic, is it.
- 43:21Speaker 4: I started heat training, adding heat training adaptation training to
- 43:25Speaker 4: my program about a month before Indonesia, so three sessions
- 43:29Speaker 4: a week, and that was they were just trip fed
- 43:31Speaker 4: into my normal program.
- 43:33Speaker 3: So of an evening before dinner.
- 43:34Speaker 4: I would, yeah, get put my Heat Act session in there,
- 43:38Speaker 4: which would just consist of like a refined space with
- 43:42Speaker 4: a humidifier and replicate dry or wet heat.
- 43:44Speaker 3: So I've done a little bit of both.
- 43:47Speaker 4: So you do one where you're sweating and stuff like that,
- 43:49Speaker 4: or you do one where you make the room like
- 43:51Speaker 4: really dry or like like you know what I mean,
- 43:53Speaker 4: like jungly steamy, or make it just barren hot. So
- 43:56Speaker 4: like for example, Aragon was just sun hot, like no,
- 44:00Speaker 4: not humidity, but just playing somewhere these Asian countries, it's
- 44:03Speaker 4: like a it's different. So I personally just do it
- 44:07Speaker 4: for peace of mind, just to see me getting physically fitter.
- 44:10Speaker 4: And at the beginning you are terrible, Like you think
- 44:12Speaker 4: you're a fit guy, but you put yourself in a
- 44:14Speaker 4: respined space with that heat, your efficiency sucks. So once
- 44:18Speaker 4: you start that, it's a big slap in the face.
- 44:20Speaker 4: But if you can just feel ten percent better on
- 44:22Speaker 4: that in those letters on Sunday, then it's so much easier.
- 44:25Speaker 4: So yeah, I've been doing that for a while now,
- 44:27Speaker 4: so it's important. You can't really just do it. Oh
- 44:29Speaker 4: there's a heat a hot race coming up.
- 44:31Speaker 3: Next week.
- 44:32Speaker 4: Let's just try and do something stupid or use the
- 44:34Speaker 4: sauna or something like that. It's a bit more complicated
- 44:36Speaker 4: if you want to take it seriously. But I don't
- 44:38Speaker 4: know if all writers do, but I certainly do.
- 44:41Speaker 1: It's funny you said that. I was just thinking back
- 44:43Speaker 1: to when Chris was racing and he would always come
- 44:45Speaker 1: back to Australia before the Asian rounds. And where we
- 44:49Speaker 1: live on the Sunshine Coast is very tropical climate. It's
- 44:51Speaker 1: a very humid and my brother used to go running
- 44:53Speaker 1: in the middle of the day, the hottest part of
- 44:55Speaker 1: the day for that reason, that exact reason, purely just
- 44:58Speaker 1: to get your body more A client matized and used
- 45:01Speaker 1: to it. So it's interesting, how I guess for an athlete,
- 45:06Speaker 1: you think, like you said, you think you're at a
- 45:08Speaker 1: certain level, but then you change conditions, you change something else,
- 45:10Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, you could be completely elsewhere.
- 45:13Speaker 1: But let's also talk about Moto GP this weekend. So
- 45:16Speaker 1: that's obviously what we're previewing, because you're obviously going to
- 45:19Speaker 1: take the w So that's fine, We've got you covered.
- 45:21Speaker 1: But what about Moto GP. Do you think Mark Marquez
- 45:25Speaker 1: is going to continue his solid run, or do you
- 45:28Speaker 1: think that Jugey and Peco are going to maybe get
- 45:30Speaker 1: back a bit closer to the title fight but have
- 45:33Speaker 1: a little bit more of a reserve race on them.
- 45:39Speaker 4: I think it's going to be between Mark and Peco
- 45:41Speaker 4: this weekend. They are probably the two best breakers on
- 45:43Speaker 4: the calend on on the in motor GP. Peko's unbelievable
- 45:48Speaker 4: on corner entry and Mark looks stronger than every one
- 45:50Speaker 4: quarter entry. So I believe it'll be between them two
- 45:54Speaker 4: this weekend. Mark stun some incredible races here on even
- 45:57Speaker 4: uncompetitive machinery, let's say so, Yeah, I believe Mark.
- 46:03Speaker 3: My money's back on Mark. I think he's got the
- 46:04Speaker 3: taste for it now.
- 46:05Speaker 4: I think he's hungry, so yeah, I think you know,
- 46:09Speaker 4: Peko's still obviously got got the championship in mind and
- 46:12Speaker 4: stuff like that.
- 46:13Speaker 3: So with my team, so I.
- 46:14Speaker 4: Think there's pressure in all different ways on each of
- 46:17Speaker 4: them in a sense, So I'll put my money on Mark.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's interesting the thing you just mentioned about Peko
- 46:24Speaker 2: there is kind of why I think this might be
- 46:26Speaker 2: a Peco weekend just the nature of the track. You
- 46:28Speaker 2: look back at the super heartbreaking tracks have had this year,
- 46:31Speaker 2: like he was awesome at Austria, like you just made
- 46:33Speaker 2: everyone look ridiculous at the Red Bull Ring, and Japan.
- 46:36Speaker 2: He was pretty impressive in Japan as well as a
- 46:39Speaker 2: type of circuit with those big stops that tends to
- 46:42Speaker 2: suit him. But like you, sen Center, he's got this
- 46:44Speaker 2: sort of you know, there's this pressure really starting to
- 46:47Speaker 2: build now because we've only got three rounds left and
- 46:50Speaker 2: you can't just say, you know, I can just match
- 46:52Speaker 2: Martin this weekend. I can pick up more points next weekend.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Very soon, there's not going to be a next weekend,
- 46:57Speaker 2: so you know, the pressure is really starting to ramp
- 46:59Speaker 2: up for him. But if I was putting not Sentner's
- 47:03Speaker 2: hefty salary, but maybe you're very meager one really, So
- 47:05Speaker 2: if I was putting some money on anyone for the weekend,
- 47:07Speaker 2: I might stick it on Pecker.
- 47:08Speaker 1: I think stick it on Pecker. That's interesting. We were
- 47:11Speaker 1: looking at the results just before we jumped on and
- 47:13Speaker 1: I saw last year Brad Binda was third. So do
- 47:16Speaker 1: you think maybe we could see a Brad or Pedro
- 47:18Speaker 1: if he's fit enough to ride match? Do you think
- 47:21Speaker 1: we could see a KTM closer to the front or
- 47:23Speaker 1: is it just going to bed Caddy dominant once again.
- 47:26Speaker 2: I think, I don't know, I know what you think, Cener,
- 47:28Speaker 2: but it's a track that might lend itself more to
- 47:30Speaker 2: the kt in because they tend to be a bit
- 47:32Speaker 2: better with these straight line breaking tracks, don't they.
- 47:34Speaker 3: I would love for Brad to clean up.
- 47:37Speaker 4: I'd love to I would give anything to see Brad
- 47:40Speaker 4: just have a massive weekend for himself, get another feature
- 47:43Speaker 4: race victory and stuff like that for him.
- 47:44Speaker 3: You know, the dedication he puts in.
- 47:47Speaker 4: And to try and build a manufacturer and raise the
- 47:52Speaker 4: manufacturer level from just his import is obviously a massive
- 47:57Speaker 4: task what him and doing, and of course Pedro what
- 47:59Speaker 4: Pedro's saying that he wants to bring Katim to the
- 48:01Speaker 4: top in the future. So I think, I like, I
- 48:05Speaker 4: know Brad more than the writers we just mentioned, so
- 48:08Speaker 4: to see a little bit more behind the scenes, or
- 48:10Speaker 4: know a little bit more about what's happening on his side,
- 48:13Speaker 4: I just have a lot a lot more they info
- 48:15Speaker 4: and what and where they are at the moment, and
- 48:17Speaker 4: I think, of course they need it and.
- 48:19Speaker 3: He deserves it.
- 48:20Speaker 4: So I hope he has a result at the end
- 48:22Speaker 4: of the year that will be massive for them, but
- 48:25Speaker 4: Chickatti's Ciacaddi and Peco's Pecker and the track nature, I
- 48:29Speaker 4: just think that they I just suppear at the moment,
- 48:31Speaker 4: which is totally okay because you know, Chickatti were never
- 48:35Speaker 4: always in this position and now they've done such a
- 48:37Speaker 4: great job to have such competitive bikes across the different
- 48:40Speaker 4: satellite teams as well. So I hope for their sake
- 48:44Speaker 4: that they can be up there. But I think those
- 48:46Speaker 4: three names that we saw last week out the front
- 48:48Speaker 4: are just this year is just they're the benchmark.
- 48:53Speaker 1: Well, either way, I think we're going to be set
- 48:55Speaker 1: in for another weekend of awesome racing. So SOMMA, thank
